- 1:43Speaker 2: see it.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It is taken straight from the episode. It is hooded.

- 1:54Speaker 1: my notes, I was like, what am I gonna call

- 2:11Speaker 2: talk on this episode, we wanted to share some feedback.
- 2:14Speaker 2: We received a my name mister Christmas viewer and Robbie
- 2:18Speaker 2: Simpson superfan.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Hey O, so are we has some feelings about last
- 2:23Speaker 1: week's elimination, feelings that we share and took those feelings
- 2:28Speaker 1: to the next level. I'm going to drop in a
- 2:31Speaker 1: voicemail right here from Lindsay. Let's take a listen.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Hello, my name is Lindsay. I live in upstate New York,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and I'm here to talk to you about a petition
- 2:41Speaker 3: that I started. If there's any Finding Mister Christmas fan
- 2:45Speaker 3: and you watch the most recent episode, Robbie Simpson got
- 2:49Speaker 3: voted out. I felt that it was really unfair and
- 2:53Speaker 3: I don't think that he should just get voted out.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I love watching Finding Mister Christmas. It filled my cup
- 3:01Speaker 3: at the end of the busy day. I'm a working
- 3:04Speaker 3: mom with a seventeenth month old toddler, and I have
- 3:06Speaker 3: very little time for myself, so shows like this and
- 3:09Speaker 3: I'm the Homemark Channel, they'd bring me joy. And because
- 3:12Speaker 3: I thought the elimination was so unfair, I started to
- 3:15Speaker 3: create a petition, says urge Hallmark to give Robbie sentthen
- 3:20Speaker 3: a movie.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Robbie's the Great After.
- 3:23Speaker 3: He was so diverse, he was always at the top
- 3:25Speaker 3: of the competition, and I felt it wasn't fair.
- 3:28Speaker 1: So I hope you.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Guys will find my petition and spread the word and
- 3:33Speaker 3: know that busy mom or just busy people find join
- 3:37Speaker 3: Hills like this. Thank you so much Bybbye.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I love that Lindsay took the initiative to do this,
- 3:44Speaker 1: so do I. I love her message about how she's
- 3:48Speaker 1: this busy mom and this show just brings her joy.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And she loved Robbie. She's not wrong. I was not
- 3:55Speaker 1: happy with Robbie's elimination either, but yeah, girl, let's take
- 3:59Speaker 1: it to the next level. Start a petition. I'm into it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm into it too, So we will share the link
- 4:04Speaker 1: in our show notes for.
- 4:06Speaker 2: This episode so you can also sign that petition. We
- 4:08Speaker 2: will also be sharing it on social so keep a
- 4:10Speaker 2: look out for that. Thank you for the message, Lindsay,
- 4:12Speaker 2: thank you for starting the petition. I love the way
- 4:15Speaker 2: people are getting involved.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Me too, just because I simply just love the show
- 4:20Speaker 1: so much.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Let's kick off our discussion with a synopsis of episode six,
- 4:24Speaker 2: The Holiday.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's a silent sprint in the festive face off as
- 4:28Speaker 1: the guys dodge noisemakers to deliver Santa's gifts. So I'm
- 4:33Speaker 1: laughing because I just had a visual. Later, Ashley Williams
- 4:36Speaker 1: guests for a picnic date scene packed with unexpected twist
- 4:41Speaker 1: to test charm under pressure.
- 4:44Speaker 2: In the beginning of the episode, you know we're no
- 4:46Speaker 2: longer spending our mornings in the kitchen. We're fireside without
- 4:51Speaker 2: a fire.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah, enjoying that warm sunshine as they're setting up the
- 4:57Speaker 1: obstacle course inside the.
- 4:58Speaker 2: House, like, yeah, they're like gout side, so we can
- 5:02Speaker 2: get production working in here. Rustin asks Angel how he's feeling,
- 5:06Speaker 2: And I feel like we get so much backstory on
- 5:09Speaker 2: Angel's like personal trials and tribulations in a way we
- 5:12Speaker 2: don't get from a lot of the other guys. He
- 5:15Speaker 2: says his experience has been much like his experience in
- 5:18Speaker 2: other aspects of his life, including playing soccer. How he
- 5:21Speaker 2: worked his way up from riding the bench, similar to
- 5:25Speaker 2: the way he worked his way up as an actor,
- 5:27Speaker 2: not speaking any English, learning the car aft of acting,
- 5:30Speaker 2: lots of Angel backstory.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Lots of Angel backstory, which kind of way I was like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: oh no, oh, no, ye, yes, I honestly completely forgot
- 5:42Speaker 1: about that. I don't think we get like a clear
- 5:45Speaker 1: clue about what's going to happen here. You don't think, well,
- 5:49Speaker 1: not here, we don't. I think later on it feels
- 5:51Speaker 1: obvious to me, but not in this up top opening
- 5:57Speaker 1: scene when they're chat and over you know their feelings
- 6:02Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Well, here's where we get the title of our blog post.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Marcus calls them the Fab Five, and Craig's like Como
- 6:09Speaker 2: City c and Espanol the Final Five and in unison,
- 6:13Speaker 2: they all say Los Cinco Finalistas.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It's cute.
- 6:17Speaker 2: It was cute, and button we get festive face off
- 6:21Speaker 2: music and it's time.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Okay, So Jonathan tells us what the festive face off is.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It is basically like a obstacle course, but you have
- 6:30Speaker 1: to be very quiet, like Santo, because Santa the Livers
- 6:34Speaker 1: gifts so quietly and then they're magically there. Right again,
- 6:40Speaker 1: as I'm watching, what is the freaking learning lesson here?
- 6:43Speaker 1: What is the metaphor what are they doing? I think
- 6:46Speaker 1: they have given up. Oh yeah, pure entertainment.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Pure entertainment, which, honestly I kind of like better. Like
- 6:55Speaker 2: I think, if we're trying so hard to make yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 2: I think the festive face off should just be fun
- 7:00Speaker 2: to watch.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Silly silliness. Yes, yeah, yeah, no, I hear that, because,
- 7:06Speaker 1: like you know, the advantage usually is always like so
- 7:09Speaker 1: beneficial to them, so like, how fun doing it? I
- 7:13Speaker 1: get it. I just remember reading some commentary after like
- 7:16Speaker 1: the first or second episode of season two and people
- 7:19Speaker 1: were like, oh, this is so silly. It should be
- 7:22Speaker 1: about acting and only acting, you know, which I mean
- 7:26Speaker 1: in our star quality challenges, we are getting more of that.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Sometimes I just feel like, oh, maybe one should lead
- 7:34Speaker 1: into the other. But I hear you, maybe it should
- 7:38Speaker 1: just be fun entertaining. The show can be entertaining without
- 7:41Speaker 1: a teachable moment, right.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Look, Jonathan, I was just listening to him talking about
- 7:45Speaker 2: the show this morning, and he said, it's supposed to
- 7:46Speaker 2: be a show where you just turn your brain off
- 7:48Speaker 2: and enjoy for forty five minutes. And that's kind of
- 7:52Speaker 2: my vibe with this show.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. We cut to Daty and he is expressionless,
- 7:58Speaker 1: like the other guys are like wow, fun and Davy
- 8:03Speaker 1: like completely flat, like looks like he's so in his head.
- 8:06Speaker 3: That is so.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yes, I agree. I took this same note. He looks,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I wrote, he looks annoyed by the premise of oh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: that's a face off challenge. But you're right, it is
- 8:17Speaker 1: like he's in his head. You're correct. Well, he says.
- 8:21Speaker 1: We get his talking head voiceover and it says like,
- 8:23Speaker 1: I have so many questions. Now. At this point, my
- 8:25Speaker 1: husband had kind of been like half watching. He was
- 8:27Speaker 1: in the room doing things, and.
- 8:28Speaker 2: He walks out and he turns on and walks back in,
- 8:30Speaker 2: and he's like, let me see the face of the
- 8:32Speaker 2: guy who has a lot of questions about this because
- 8:34Speaker 2: he was like, what question is there?
- 8:36Speaker 1: Right? Which I thought was funny.
- 8:39Speaker 2: He did end up watching the rest of the episode,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and I will be sharing some of his feedback.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Oh fantastic. Yeah, I think Davey is thinking too hard
- 8:47Speaker 1: about these things. David, just go in and have fun.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Mm mmm mm you know, like, yeah, you're right, he's
- 8:51Speaker 1: two in his head. He's way too in his head.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Angels First, Angels First. Now. My notes say ASMR meets Jackass,
- 9:02Speaker 1: not for Angel, but for the whole challengeuse as it
- 9:05Speaker 1: is the way I laughed out loud as soon as
- 9:08Speaker 1: he as soon as he opens the door, he knocks
- 9:10Speaker 1: over that laundry basket full of balls. Yes, and I
- 9:14Speaker 1: was like, this is how it's gonna go. This is
- 9:16Speaker 1: how it's gonna go. Okay.
- 9:19Speaker 2: In the beginning, Angel says everywhere you look, there's a
- 9:21Speaker 2: booby trap, and then they cut to a shot of
- 9:24Speaker 2: him making sure his buns aren't going to trip a trap.
- 9:27Speaker 2: And in my mind, I am thinking a booby trap
- 9:30Speaker 2: or a booty trap.
- 9:32Speaker 1: A booty trap. Oh, that's hilarious. Can I ask you
- 9:36Speaker 1: a question here?
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 9:38Speaker 1: They show Jonathan Bennett and hands like this card taped
- 9:41Speaker 1: over his mouth. Is this not giving like kidnapped drama teacher?
- 9:46Speaker 4: What is that?
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'm like, what's going on? Why did they make it
- 9:51Speaker 1: look like it was a horror movie?
- 9:52Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Well, and why does Jonathan have to be quiet? I
- 9:55Speaker 1: don't understand.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of others, lot of chaotic energy
- 10:01Speaker 1: in this whole segment, like Craig's moving around in the house,
- 10:05Speaker 1: knocks of work, handle with the soccer ball, like all
- 10:07Speaker 1: the nervous energy they cannot contain themselves. But Angel ends
- 10:12Speaker 1: with six points, and I'm like, is that a lot?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Is that a little? I don't know what to compare
- 10:15Speaker 1: it to at this point. Yeah, because they said it up.
- 10:18Speaker 1: They said, like, you get dinged points if you hit
- 10:22Speaker 1: things right. Yeah, So he hits six things basically, yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Now, and they do a game show sound effect when
- 10:29Speaker 2: they it's like back. I was so tired of that
- 10:32Speaker 2: sound effect by the end of this segment. I was like,
- 10:34Speaker 2: oh were you Yeah, at least it wasn't twelve dude.
- 10:38Speaker 1: You had to watch like to go through it, right. Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Well, especially because in goes Davy and Davy cartwheels his
- 10:44Speaker 2: way out of the room.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And straight into chaos. What I thought was so funny
- 10:49Speaker 1: because he said, my wife describes me as a bull
- 10:52Speaker 1: in a china shop, which I was like, oh, no,
- 10:54Speaker 1: this is why. Because the man is big, right, and
- 10:58Speaker 1: like he's tall and buff and like trying to like
- 11:01Speaker 1: maneuver your way through these tiny little spaces and crawl
- 11:07Speaker 1: spaces and over things and whatever. I thought it was funny.
- 11:10Speaker 1: But the thing that made me laugh out loud is
- 11:12Speaker 1: it literally looked like he was being tased every time time.
- 11:16Speaker 4: He hit something, because it'd be like that, eh, and
- 11:21Speaker 4: then like they flashed the light and like his body
- 11:24Speaker 4: jerks would be like he.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Was being shocked. It was so funny. I was laughing
- 11:29Speaker 1: out loud.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Well, I didn't even notice Melissa and Angels Run, and
- 11:33Speaker 2: so when she pops out during Davies, I was like, oh,
- 11:35Speaker 2: Melissa's here, Like I must have been like looking down
- 11:38Speaker 2: when she was an Angels.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I don't know. I watched it twice. They never showed
- 11:42Speaker 1: her Angels Run. I just wonder like if she just
- 11:44Speaker 1: got the set after his turn, yeah, maybe I love
- 11:48Speaker 1: that She at one point holds up a quiet Davy
- 11:50Speaker 1: note yeah, and he ends with fourteen points to Angels six, Bad.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Bad, and wants to make his inner child proud with
- 12:02Speaker 2: this challenge rust In.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Rustin is always trying to go so deep sometimes I think,
- 12:07Speaker 1: you know, he's yeah, sometimes it is just an obsacle.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Course it is. But was he not giving like mission impossible?
- 12:15Speaker 1: Totally trying like arching his body over the bubble wrap
- 12:20Speaker 1: or whatever it was when he was underneath the table,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I was like, oh my gosh. You know, he gets
- 12:25Speaker 1: eleven out of ten and enthusiasm totally and his strategy
- 12:29Speaker 1: is to move as fast as he can. And I
- 12:30Speaker 1: actually think it's not a bad strategy because some of
- 12:32Speaker 1: these moments you just got to power through and try
- 12:35Speaker 1: not to trip the traps. He ends with eight points
- 12:38Speaker 1: to Angels six, like, have you ever, like, you know,
- 12:42Speaker 1: walked down a curb like the length of a curb
- 12:44Speaker 1: and you're like, oh my god. If you overthink it,
- 12:46Speaker 1: then you're like, oh yeah, turning your ankle and follow
- 12:49Speaker 1: you Like that's me. You just gotta go fast and
- 12:52Speaker 1: not think about it.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Craig's up next, and he's worried about his pants being
- 12:56Speaker 1: too tight. Craig, I think he's not wrong. The pants
- 13:04Speaker 1: were tight.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Now, what's interesting about The way Craig scene is edited
- 13:10Speaker 2: is they keep blasting him for laughing, but he doesn't
- 13:14Speaker 2: appear to actually get those things against him because he
- 13:17Speaker 2: ends with just seven points. Yeah, it's funny because like
- 13:21Speaker 2: he gets into like a giggle fit on host yes
- 13:24Speaker 2: you know, and like Melissa and Jonathan are like also giggling,
- 13:28Speaker 2: but they're telling him to like be quiet. It was
- 13:30Speaker 2: just funny because I feel like he was whispering, like
- 13:32Speaker 2: tight pants, tight pants, tight.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Pants, tight pants.
- 13:37Speaker 5: You know.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Craig to me is America's sweetheart, Like I this was
- 13:42Speaker 1: hilarious to watch. Yeah, he was. He was the most
- 13:45Speaker 1: fun to watch, the most fun to watch because especially
- 13:49Speaker 1: leading into the challenge, like you said, like he had
- 13:52Speaker 1: knocked over like he had kicked the ball onto the table, yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 1: or like knocked over the candles or whatever. He just
- 13:59Speaker 1: talk about frenetic energy and like a man child. Yeah,
- 14:05Speaker 1: it was fun fun to watch.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Marcus's last and look, he's the only one who doesn't
- 14:10Speaker 2: knock over the basket inside the door, and right there,
- 14:13Speaker 2: I'm like, you should win right there for you start
- 14:15Speaker 2: playing the game before you even in the room.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. He also makes the bold choice to jump
- 14:22Speaker 1: the final steps leaping over. Now, this could have gone
- 14:25Speaker 1: one of two ways. I would have crashed straight into
- 14:28Speaker 1: the tree, Like I would not have stuck that landing
- 14:30Speaker 1: at all. That choice was diabolical. I was like, he's
- 14:34Speaker 1: just gonna jump from the table to the tree, Like
- 14:38Speaker 1: what are you doing? But it was hilarious and the
- 14:41Speaker 1: way he jumped was so upright, like you know when
- 14:43Speaker 1: you jump, you're supposed to like being jernis a little
- 14:46Speaker 1: bit yeah, and like softly like it was just was
- 14:48Speaker 1: like a pogo stick. It's table to tree. It was
- 14:53Speaker 1: so funny, so funny, and it pays off. He wins
- 14:56Speaker 1: with only five points. I'm shocked. I'm shocked, Like he
- 15:00Speaker 1: won just by one point, and I had to wonder.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I have to wonder again spoiler alert if Marcus didn't
- 15:10Speaker 1: win this because you think this came into the decision factor,
- 15:14Speaker 1: They're like, well, we can't really send him home because
- 15:16Speaker 1: he won the Festive face off. I don't know, his
- 15:18Speaker 1: advantage didn't give him any like immunity. Yeah, I don't.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe the Festive face off win played
- 15:29Speaker 1: into it, but I don't know, I don't know. We
- 15:33Speaker 1: get kind of like a filler scene, Yeah, before we
- 15:37Speaker 1: learn about this dark Quality challenge, and it's Dave, Marcus
- 15:39Speaker 1: and Rested and they're sitting around and they're playing chess,
- 15:43Speaker 1: and first of all, I have a couple a couple
- 15:46Speaker 1: thoughts here. First of all, they're talking about Davy being
- 15:49Speaker 1: a new dad, and Marcus asks first like, is it
- 15:52Speaker 1: getting easier? And I'm like, yeah, Demmy, he's been on
- 15:54Speaker 1: a reality show.
- 15:55Speaker 5: It's gonna be easier for him. Not really, yeah, exactly,
- 16:02Speaker 5: not easy for mom at home. I thought that was
- 16:04Speaker 5: really funny, but I was like, this scene seems very familiar,
- 16:08Speaker 5: and so I had to go back to a couple
- 16:11Speaker 5: episodes ago, the episode where they were in the Talent Show,
- 16:15Speaker 5: and it's the same. It's a clip from the same scene.
- 16:18Speaker 5: It's that particular scene Russell was talking about how many
- 16:21Speaker 5: like car accidents he had been in. Yeah, this is
- 16:23Speaker 5: the same scene. They're sitting in front of the chest.
- 16:25Speaker 5: They have all the same clothes on, so like, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 5: this is a digits of that moment totally, and I
- 16:31Speaker 5: get it, Like that's how things work, Like you got
- 16:33Speaker 5: to fill an episode with stuff. You use a little
- 16:36Speaker 5: bit here and a little bit from there, and whatever.
- 16:38Speaker 1: The magic of editing. Yeah, that's right.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Let's take a quick break and come back to talk
- 16:43Speaker 2: about the Star Quality Challenge. Well, it's Star Quality Challenge time.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Our girl Ashley Williams is here and the guns are
- 16:58Speaker 2: going on a date.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I have to admit something. Okay, I think I'm an
- 17:04Speaker 1: Ashley william super fan. Oh me too. She just floats
- 17:09Speaker 1: in radiating pure joy, pure sunshine. I'm like, protect this
- 17:14Speaker 1: woman at all costs. I love her, But what I
- 17:18Speaker 1: love mostly is like she's so hyped on the dudes. Right,
- 17:22Speaker 1: She's like, you got this. I'm there for you. I'm
- 17:24Speaker 1: supportive whatever. Yes, like I'm here for you doing I
- 17:27Speaker 1: thought that was so great. During her open opening, pep
- 17:33Speaker 1: talk to them if you will. Yeah, you know, She's like,
- 17:35Speaker 1: we'll do this together, like I got you, and I
- 17:37Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, you're so sweet. I know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and me like and never been a I don't want
- 17:44Speaker 1: to get in front of anybody and like play pretend
- 17:48Speaker 1: to anything. You know. I think some people are like, oh,
- 17:51Speaker 1: that's the joy of it. We're just gonna pretend and play,
- 17:54Speaker 1: and I'd be like, no, I don't want to do
- 17:56Speaker 1: any of that. So, you know, points for enthusias asn't
- 18:00Speaker 1: in willingness to just go for it. To everybody here,
- 18:05Speaker 1: I'm like, it is not for me. I know, was
- 18:08Speaker 1: never made to be an actor. Nope, nope.
- 18:12Speaker 2: So one of the biggest challenges of this scene is
- 18:15Speaker 2: it comes midway through a script, so they're supposed to
- 18:18Speaker 2: kind of there's a couple of things that they have
- 18:20Speaker 2: to do, Like one they have to find the chemistry
- 18:22Speaker 2: because this isn't their first meet cute, and two they're
- 18:26Speaker 2: supposed to kind of improv the lead into this scene,
- 18:29Speaker 2: so they don't just like start the middle of this conversation.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Marcus gets to pick the order of the performers, and
- 18:36Speaker 2: he has himself going second because he doesn't want to
- 18:39Speaker 2: get into his head, and he makes Rustin go last.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So it's interesting to me because Marcus thinks that the
- 18:45Speaker 2: last place is the least desirable. So I wonder, like,
- 18:51Speaker 2: does he think like Rustin has an advantage and wants
- 18:55Speaker 2: to put him at a disadvantage.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Russell's like, hey, thank.
- 18:58Speaker 2: You, yeah, because I think I think depending on who
- 19:01Speaker 2: you are, some people are like, yeah, I want to
- 19:02Speaker 2: go last, like I want the prep time, and someone's like,
- 19:04Speaker 2: let me just get through it and be done.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That is a problem. Shouldn't that be a red flag
- 19:10Speaker 1: if like, let me just get through it?
- 19:11Speaker 4: Mmm?
- 19:13Speaker 1: Mmm, look it. I think Marcus his strategy here was
- 19:18Speaker 1: not good.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Interesting, but they don't get to see the other guys perform.
- 19:23Speaker 2: The only thing he would have had is more time
- 19:25Speaker 2: to prep, which might not have been.
- 19:26Speaker 1: A bad idea. Yeah, I don't know. I think Marcus
- 19:30Speaker 1: could have used some more prep time.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Well, we do get a quick shot of the guys
- 19:33Speaker 2: rehearsing in the house together, and I gotta tell you, like.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It's rough. I agree. It was like Angel and Marcus
- 19:41Speaker 1: right running lines together. I was like, this is terrible.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but this is terrible. Yeah, and my husband
- 19:47Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh. He was like, this is
- 19:49Speaker 1: not going to go well. Everyone did better with Ashley
- 19:53Speaker 1: than they did with the guys, though, So let's cut
- 19:56Speaker 1: to Angel, who's first. Yes, Angel almost potentially a rough
- 20:01Speaker 1: start because he has to connect with Ashley and so
- 20:05Speaker 1: he's like, tell me about your mom, and oh my god,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I went, oh no, yea, that's what I did, and
- 20:12Speaker 2: her face like just for a quick second, you know,
- 20:15Speaker 2: we know the backstory of Ashley's mom. Her mom had Alzheimer's,
- 20:18Speaker 2: Like she has this very touching the story about her,
- 20:21Speaker 2: and she says like, oh, she passed away. But and
- 20:24Speaker 2: he's like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. She's real
- 20:26Speaker 2: great about it, like she recovers. But I was like, oh,
- 20:29Speaker 2: it broke my heart just a little bit.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Me too. But they do bond over like losing their parents.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So I mean, I guess there you have made the
- 20:39Speaker 1: connection that you wanted to make as a scene partner.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But yeah, I just think, like, knowing like her backstory,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I was like, that's.
- 20:51Speaker 2: No, yes it was. It was a risky move. It
- 20:54Speaker 2: was a risky move, super risky. One thing I think
- 20:57Speaker 2: is interesting is Angel's transition into the script is seamless.
- 21:03Speaker 2: He doesn't say like, oh now, like some of the
- 21:05Speaker 2: other guys it's clunky. Angel just transitions right into the script.
- 21:08Speaker 2: And Jonathan even says like, oh now we're on the script.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Now.
- 21:11Speaker 2: We didn't know what the script was, so we didn't know.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I like that he calls it out and it is seamless.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And I will say he does I think he does
- 21:18Speaker 2: that well.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I agree, And you know what else he did really
- 21:22Speaker 1: well is he did it like a hair, yes, brushou
- 21:27Speaker 1: he has like eye contact, like there's vibes for sure. Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 1: What I thought was interesting is Ashley mentions at the
- 21:35Speaker 1: end of their scene that Angel has a chin quiver,
- 21:39Speaker 1: that he got real emotional. But I never saw that.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I didn't either, but I did put that on my
- 21:43Speaker 1: notes as well. I wonder if it just got cut
- 21:48Speaker 1: because it's mentioned twice.
- 21:50Speaker 2: We definitely don't see all of the scenes, like the
- 21:53Speaker 2: complete scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree. I agree. Marcus
- 21:58Speaker 2: is up next. He gives Ashley a little wink.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 22:02Speaker 1: But you know what he also does. He does that
- 22:04Speaker 1: like shake the jitter thing out, and I'm like, stop
- 22:07Speaker 1: these two episodes now, I can't deal. Yeah, this is
- 22:11Speaker 1: why I would not be I would not be a
- 22:13Speaker 1: good actor, Like I don't want to do a lot
- 22:15Speaker 1: of these tricks foreshadowing one coming up gives me the willies,
- 22:19Speaker 1: and we'll tell you.
- 22:20Speaker 2: My husband was watching this and he was like, Marcus
- 22:22Speaker 2: is very pretty, but he's not feeling it. He's like,
- 22:25Speaker 2: it feels like he's just reading lines. I agree with
- 22:29Speaker 2: your husband. I do too, and I like Marcus a lot.
- 22:33Speaker 2: From early on, I was like this.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Man looks good. I love the smile, like he's got charisma,
- 22:39Speaker 1: like he's real nice to look at. But delivering the lines,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I had secondhand embarrassment like that cringey, uncomfortable feeling. Yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I hate saying that out loud. I hate it because
- 22:54Speaker 1: I like Marcus. I like Marcus too. I mean that
- 22:56Speaker 1: smile could power all of the state of Utah. But
- 23:00Speaker 1: it's it's not great, and his transition into the lines
- 23:03Speaker 1: is clunky. It's not nearly as smooth as Angels. Yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 1: and he actually flubbed the line. I can't remember what
- 23:09Speaker 1: it is, like he said something that wasn't quite right
- 23:12Speaker 1: or wasn't I know, the script is like a little
- 23:15Speaker 1: bit loose, but it was something like the tense of
- 23:20Speaker 1: a word he said. I can't remember exactly. In comes Craig,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and Craig wants to like improv and he's like, I'm
- 23:28Speaker 1: gonna talk about my ex and very different energy than Angels,
- 23:34Speaker 1: like romantic energy like Craig's light. He's comedic. Melissa says
- 23:39Speaker 1: she feels like she's watching someone's real date. I agree.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I have questions here. Yeah, do you think to me
- 23:49Speaker 1: it read as like Jonathan and Melissa were super impressed
- 23:52Speaker 1: with Craig going in and kind of having like a
- 23:55Speaker 1: vision for leading into the conversation and et cetera. Did
- 24:01Speaker 1: you find that they seemed happy with what he was
- 24:04Speaker 1: doing there? I did, Yes, Yeah, I agree. I like
- 24:09Speaker 1: that he had an idea and it was a little
- 24:11Speaker 1: bit different than the others. What I noticed during this
- 24:15Speaker 1: scene is heat breaks eye contact a lot, and I
- 24:18Speaker 1: don't know if that's like a if that's a choice,
- 24:23Speaker 1: or if that's a nervous thing, or you know, like
- 24:26Speaker 1: when you're talking to somebody and like you like look away.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I picked up on it a lot, But overall I
- 24:31Speaker 1: thought their scene was really good, especially they kind of
- 24:34Speaker 1: just went went went with it. When that b was hair.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Did you freak out a little bit but they handed it? Yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 1: I would have been gone. She's like, oh, it's just
- 24:46Speaker 1: buzzying in my hair a little bit.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I thought it was cute and they just went with it.
- 24:50Speaker 1: They like totally recovered from it, which feels a little
- 24:53Speaker 1: bit unfair because if that was a real scene in
- 24:56Speaker 1: a movie, you would reshoot it right. You don't just
- 24:59Speaker 1: get one right. But he does a very good job.
- 25:02Speaker 1: He's very flirty in it. He is very flirty, but
- 25:06Speaker 1: like soft flirt, not like smarmy flirt. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Davy's up next.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Now.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Davie also wants to make a bold choice, and his
- 25:16Speaker 2: bold choice is to deliver a monologue at the end,
- 25:18Speaker 2: and he tells Ashley he's going to do that, and.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I'm like, don't do that, because to me, a monologue
- 25:25Speaker 1: is about you. This scene is about connecting with your
- 25:28Speaker 1: scene partner. Yeah, and doesn't Melissa say that at the
- 25:33Speaker 1: very beginning. She says you need to mirror what your
- 25:36Speaker 1: scene partner is giving you, Like, yeah, this is about
- 25:39Speaker 1: the female in the scene, not about the male. And
- 25:43Speaker 1: I think Davy's the one who's like, okay, just say, like,
- 25:46Speaker 1: ask me a question and then I'll lead into the scene.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'm like, no, just come on, buddy, like you know
- 25:50Speaker 1: how to have a conversation. Were you as soon as
- 25:53Speaker 1: he's putting those grapes in his mouth where You're like,
- 25:55Speaker 1: oh no, stop it.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Davey made some choices in this scene. It's interesting that
- 26:00Speaker 2: you talked about Craig's lack of eye contact. The grapes
- 26:04Speaker 2: were a lot, and of course it's edited to look
- 26:06Speaker 2: like the grapes were a Lot and Johnathan Mahlissa were like,
- 26:08Speaker 2: stop eating grapes, and then it.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Was really funny.
- 26:11Speaker 2: They're like, what's he doing with his mouth and they're
- 26:13Speaker 2: like trying to get the grapes out of Yeah, it
- 26:16Speaker 2: was funny. But he also looked away from her a lot, yep,
- 26:21Speaker 2: and he's looking down. Even my husband's like what are
- 26:23Speaker 2: you looking at? Like are the lie? What is happening?
- 26:26Speaker 2: And in all caps, I'm like, stop looking down.
- 26:29Speaker 1: So I found some of Davey's choices distracting. Yeah, I agree,
- 26:34Speaker 1: which was unfortunate because I thought Davey did really well
- 26:38Speaker 1: last week. Yeah, I thought he did really well too.
- 26:42Speaker 1: You know what was funny is at the end of
- 26:43Speaker 1: the scene, Ashley was saying that Davy is distractingly handsome, yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: which is like so correct, It's so funny. They're really
- 26:52Speaker 1: lean into wooing the female audience with Davy's good looks.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 27:01Speaker 2: We get a quick Balsam Hill ad break before to
- 27:05Speaker 2: close it out. It's just like a little pass over
- 27:08Speaker 2: some Balsam Hill march and in comes Rustin. Now, I'm
- 27:12Speaker 2: sure there's somebody who loves this choice. Rustin's choice to
- 27:16Speaker 2: look Ashley in the eyes for ten seconds to connect
- 27:18Speaker 2: with her. Everyone's like, that's a theater kid thing. Now,
- 27:21Speaker 2: as the mother of a theater kid, I understand the
- 27:24Speaker 2: need to to get into character and connect with their
- 27:27Speaker 2: scene partner.
- 27:27Speaker 1: But I hated this.
- 27:28Speaker 2: So if he if I were Ashley, I would win like,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I'm out, I can't Nope, nope.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think she's cut from the same claw
- 27:37Speaker 1: I know. But would you wouldn't you be uncomfortable? No,
- 27:40Speaker 1: you and I would be like, nope, yes, she's cut
- 27:43Speaker 1: from that. She's like, I know a theater kid when
- 27:45Speaker 1: I see one, like, of course, like you would like.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Even Jonathan's like, that's a classic actor move, and so
- 27:50Speaker 1: I appreciate that feedback. Like that, both Ashley and Jonathan
- 27:54Speaker 1: acknowledged that as like a thing. Yeah. What I found
- 27:58Speaker 1: very uncomfortable about, and this is great editing, is like
- 28:02Speaker 1: they turned up the volume on the breathing that you
- 28:05Speaker 1: can hear them breathing while they're like looking at each other.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I was just like, this makes me so uncomfortable. And
- 28:13Speaker 1: it seems to go on for thirty seconds, not ten, no,
- 28:16Speaker 1: like two minutes. It's not like, yes, okay, how much
- 28:19Speaker 1: did you love Jonathan and Melissa do the same thing.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Oh my god, Melissa leans in and Jonathan shudders. Headfalls. Yes,
- 28:28Speaker 1: it was great. I love I love those moments. Those
- 28:31Speaker 1: are gems. Yes, episode. Yes. What do you think about
- 28:36Speaker 1: Rustin's scene after the long gaze? I thought he nailed it. Actually,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I thought he nailed it. There was like an eyebrow wait, raise,
- 28:46Speaker 1: like he knows how to serve up like the sexy flirtation.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I said, Rustin is pretty good. I can't deny
- 28:57Speaker 2: my husband's notice. He touches his beard a lot. Well, okay, oh,
- 29:01Speaker 2: it wasn't as distracting as some of the other choices.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Well, that would be like you and I touch in
- 29:04Speaker 1: our hair for sure.
- 29:06Speaker 2: So they run down some of the guys. Angel stood
- 29:10Speaker 2: out to Jonathan. This is where Ashley talks about his
- 29:12Speaker 2: tears and his chin gluever. I was like, oh yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 2: And Melissa said he understood the assignment. Craig came to
- 29:19Speaker 2: play and he had the perfect mix of heart and humor.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Right now, she did say that Marcus felt a little stiff.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Yeah, And Jonathan says like he was one of the
- 29:28Speaker 2: guys that didn't stand out.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah, And then they talked about Davy and how Davey
- 29:33Speaker 1: broke the flow with his monologue, like you know, and
- 29:37Speaker 1: Melissa went on to say, like, Davy had this idea
- 29:41Speaker 1: and he wanted to like execute this idea, but it
- 29:43Speaker 1: totally kind of like didn't work with the whole scene.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like the scene was going and he's like, got
- 29:48Speaker 2: to get to the monologue. Got to get to the monologue, Yeah, exactly.
- 29:52Speaker 2: And then finally Ashley says that Ruston created some hallmark moments. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: Jab's like, but is he our next Finding Christmas? I
- 30:01Speaker 2: don't know if that was like, you know, just to
- 30:04Speaker 2: set it up as a transition.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think Jonathan is actually questioning
- 30:09Speaker 1: if Rustin is a contender or not.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Well, it's interesting because he says Rustin's lines felt more
- 30:15Speaker 2: like he was hitting on Ashley rather than falling for her.
- 30:18Speaker 1: What's wrong with that? Well, that's a good question. I
- 30:22Speaker 1: don't know.
- 30:23Speaker 2: And he says he's clearly talented, but is he the
- 30:25Speaker 2: next mister Christmas? And again, like, is that just like
- 30:27Speaker 2: trying to throw everybody off the scent? Because I think
- 30:31Speaker 2: Rustin is clearly talented, he is clearly a front runner,
- 30:36Speaker 2: But is he trying to plant those seeds because like
- 30:40Speaker 2: there has been so much contention about the eliminations.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know. I don't know.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Well, let's take a break and come right back to
- 30:49Speaker 2: talk about the elimination. We're in the elimination caves, and
- 31:03Speaker 2: we kind of get right into it. Jonathan starts by
- 31:07Speaker 2: describing the winner as the perfect blend of heart and humor.
- 31:09Speaker 2: And I'm shouting it's crag, it's crag, but yeah, Angel too. Yeah,
- 31:14Speaker 2: And we see Angels smile and I my notes are like,
- 31:16Speaker 2: Angel thinks it's mn.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Oh no, I don't know. I didn't clock Angel. You know,
- 31:23Speaker 1: editing right, because didn't we see last week We're like, oh,
- 31:25Speaker 1: Rustin took the smile like he thought he had it too,
- 31:28Speaker 1: But we don't know. I wouldn't have peg Angel as
- 31:32Speaker 1: like heart and humor.
- 31:35Speaker 2: No, neither, No, neither would I have. I think Craig
- 31:40Speaker 2: deserved to win this one as well. I think of
- 31:44Speaker 2: it was close for me. It was close between him
- 31:47Speaker 2: and Rustin, to be honest, Yeah, yeah, you know, I
- 31:51Speaker 2: like the calm, and I think I think Craig's was
- 31:54Speaker 2: more comedic than Rustin's.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Rustin's was like leaning more like smoldery. Yeah. My notes
- 32:00Speaker 1: say two in a row. Yeah, that's exciting.
- 32:03Speaker 2: And we get notes from Jonathan he does what a
- 32:05Speaker 2: Hallmark leading man does, and Melissa says, I saw a.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Leading man tonight. Hm hmm. I would love to get
- 32:12Speaker 1: an extended cut? Can we put that on Hallmark Plus?
- 32:15Speaker 1: In the extended cut on Hallmark Plus?
- 32:18Speaker 3: Please?
- 32:19Speaker 1: It's somebody listening. Did you notice there's an extended cut
- 32:21Speaker 1: of the Bills movie on Hallmark Plus?
- 32:23Speaker 3: Oh?
- 32:23Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I think I might go watch it. Yeah, I'm yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 2: me too. Now we hear our final two, Marcus in.
- 32:30Speaker 1: The Body, Yeah, listen. Marcus says something like he's nervous
- 32:35Speaker 1: because this is his first time in the bottom two,
- 32:37Speaker 1: and I was like, what is it?
- 32:39Speaker 4: What?
- 32:41Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it, to be honest, because I feel
- 32:43Speaker 1: like Marcus has been escaping elimination like week to week.
- 32:49Speaker 1: It feels like I agree.
- 32:51Speaker 2: My husband says he thought Davey had more charm in
- 32:54Speaker 2: the in the scenes, and Davy looks like he's gonna
- 32:58Speaker 2: cry before before they make the elimination. And then my
- 33:01Speaker 2: notes all caps, I was I was shocked, it says what, Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 2: I was shocked.
- 33:07Speaker 1: As well. To me, read like Davy is hanging his
- 33:12Speaker 1: head low like he knows it's coming. And I feel
- 33:16Speaker 1: for this man in this moment because in my mind,
- 33:20Speaker 1: I'm like, it's Marcus. Marcus me too.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Look, this is the Gabriel situation all over again. Like
- 33:26Speaker 2: I think I thought Gabriel got saved one more week
- 33:29Speaker 2: than he should have.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And I think I do, like I love, I don't want.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Anybody to go home. Gabriel is one of my number ones.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Marcus is so pretty. But look last week I felt
- 33:44Speaker 2: like Robbie got robbed and I was a little surprised.
- 33:48Speaker 2: So again, give us that extended cut, show us what
- 33:51Speaker 2: we're not seeing.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Yes, I need to see the debrief, the eliminations talk,
- 33:57Speaker 1: all of that.
- 34:00Speaker 2: We're down to the final final four after this, and
- 34:02Speaker 2: every elimination now is gonna hurt.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I'm not okay, you know why, because this show is
- 34:08Speaker 1: ending and I love this show so much.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I know, and we know, like here's the sad part.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Like episode seven, we're gonna get an elimination, and then
- 34:14Speaker 2: if they do it like last time, we're going to
- 34:16Speaker 2: have the final three going into the finale.
- 34:19Speaker 1: And I'm just not going to be ready for that. Yeah,
- 34:22Speaker 1: you know, Davey says this show, I came here with
- 34:24Speaker 1: one friend and I'm leaving with nine. Yeah, I mean
- 34:27Speaker 1: that's nice. It was nice, But I wasn't ready to
- 34:30Speaker 1: say goodbye to Davy.
- 34:32Speaker 4: No.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I think he had another week in him. Yeah, he
- 34:35Speaker 1: just had a he just needed more direct You know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: it would be really interesting because they've been putting like
- 34:41Speaker 1: the kind of like the directing on the Guys a
- 34:46Speaker 1: little bit. Show me how they hasn't really worked with
- 34:52Speaker 1: the director yet. Yeah, exactly. You know what else I'm
- 34:56Speaker 1: missing And maybe it just hasn't come yet. But last
- 34:59Speaker 1: year they did an improv scene that had remember I
- 35:02Speaker 1: had BJ, Britt and Melissa was in it, and it
- 35:05Speaker 1: was so entertaining to watch. Uh huh. I hope that's
- 35:09Speaker 1: next week. I hope we get that, or at least
- 35:12Speaker 1: next week or in the finale. I don't remember where
- 35:15Speaker 1: it came last Last last year, I.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Don't remember either. It was later there was because they
- 35:20Speaker 2: only did a few of the scenes. But I wonder, like,
- 35:24Speaker 2: have we had any dudes this season, because last year
- 35:27Speaker 2: we had Tyler and we had BJ. I don't think
- 35:30Speaker 2: we've had any dudes yet this season. I don't think
- 35:32Speaker 2: so well, I don't think so I'm gonna need a dude. Yeah,
- 35:35Speaker 2: there's other scene partners, right, Yeah, I know it's Hallmark,
- 35:39Speaker 2: but we've seen like The Groomsmen where it's three leading men,
- 35:44Speaker 2: so m and I know last year we got Ali
- 35:47Speaker 2: Liebert as a director in the finale, so hopefully we
- 35:51Speaker 2: get that situation as well. But I think it would
- 35:53Speaker 2: be interesting for them to work with a director like. Hey,
