- 0:15Speaker 2: laugh with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along
- 0:19Speaker 2: with Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharma. Thank you for joining
- 0:24Speaker 2: us today in the Treehouse. Today we will cover dumbed
- 0:31Speaker 2: down entertainment a very special Valentine. But first we will
- 0:40Speaker 2: start with the best worst sweatshirt in mugshot history. A
- 0:48Speaker 2: man was arrested in Terrant County. His sweatshirt in the
- 0:55Speaker 2: mugshot reads, I will put you in a trunk and
- 0:58Speaker 2: help people look for you. Stop playing with me. This
- 1:05Speaker 2: man is Cruz Dean Wanser. He was arrested with the
- 1:12Speaker 2: help of the United States Marshalls and Texas Rangers and
- 1:16Speaker 2: Azel Texas Police. He is facing several felony charges, including
- 1:22Speaker 2: ampering with a human corpse, possession of a controlled substance
- 1:26Speaker 2: with intent to deliver, and an outstanding for role violation warrant.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I don't know if they mean outstanding like it's been,
- 1:34Speaker 2: you know, just amazing, it's it's outstanding, or just you know, unsettled.
- 1:42Speaker 2: At the time of his arrest, he was wearing a
- 1:44Speaker 2: sweatshirt that read I will put you on a trunk
- 1:47Speaker 2: and help people look for you.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Stop playing with me.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Uh yeah, so's He was wanted in connection to the
- 1:55Speaker 2: death of a thirty seven year old woman found inside
- 1:57Speaker 2: of an Azel home earlier this month, and he's now
- 2:01Speaker 2: been taken into custody. Mister wantser is facing several charges
- 2:07Speaker 2: including tampering with a fabricating physical evidence with intent to
- 2:10Speaker 2: impair a human corpse, possession with intent to deliver, a
- 2:13Speaker 2: control of substance, and that outstanding parole violation.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And also the worst atsa store ever. That is it?
- 2:23Speaker 2: That is an Etsy sweatshirt if I've ever seen one? Right,
- 2:32Speaker 2: So yeah, the I will put you on a drunk
- 2:35Speaker 2: and help people look for you Stop playing with me
- 2:37Speaker 2: one of the all time great mugshot apparel choices. Along
- 2:44Speaker 2: with the guys that are you know, have their shirts
- 2:46Speaker 2: on that say I'm not drunk or I Am drunk
- 2:49Speaker 2: and they get arrested for a d w I type stuff.
- 2:53Speaker 2: This one's this one's a classic. Immediately all right, say
- 3:07Speaker 2: that again?
- 3:10Speaker 3: Which one of us one of you?
- 3:15Speaker 2: I heard, I heard I heard a trade layer and
- 3:17Speaker 2: a rage layer. It was like an Audio Lasagna.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah, so every time now I see kind of a
- 3:23Speaker 1: redheaded person. Have y'all seen Marshawn Lynch's tweet about the
- 3:29Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. No, okay, So it was after they won
- 3:35Speaker 1: finished up the regular season, I think, and there was
- 3:39Speaker 1: a picture of the offense and Marshawn Lynch, you know,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and it was basically the offense that it was Sam Darnold.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Who was a redhead. Okay, So the tweet was something about,
- 3:53Speaker 3: you know, way to go?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Why ends? And then he goes and you too, ginger.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Cuz Marshawn Lynch keeping it real forever.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I love that guy. He's fantastic, Like he's like he
- 4:15Speaker 3: lives up to the hype. When he was talking to
- 4:19Speaker 3: Richard Sherman at one point on the sideline they had
- 4:21Speaker 3: the they had him miked up and he's like, so
- 4:24Speaker 3: you want to come over to the house for Thanksgiving?
- 4:26Speaker 3: He's like, nah, I'm going to the hood. He's like
- 4:28Speaker 3: for what. He's like, You're a millionaire. What are you
- 4:31Speaker 3: going to the hood for? He goes pass out turkey.
- 4:34Speaker 3: He's and shit, I was like, all right, this.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah, there is there is absolutely no no sugarcoating of
- 4:45Speaker 2: anything from Marshawn Lynch. He absolutely speaks what he thinks
- 4:49Speaker 2: and feels and makes no apologies for it.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 1: There is not an ounce of pretentiousness in him. It
- 4:57Speaker 1: is this is me, take it or leave it.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he really is about it.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah, he really is one of the classic examples of
- 5:06Speaker 2: just because he's no longer in the hood doesn't mean
- 5:09Speaker 2: he's not still there emotionally, right, Like just because he
- 5:14Speaker 2: went off and got big and had a you know,
- 5:17Speaker 2: millions of dollars in earnings as an NFL player, he has.
- 5:20Speaker 2: He is the essence of keeping it real.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Yeah. He spends the holidays with his best friend who
- 5:28Speaker 3: still lives in the hood. Like he goes to the
- 5:32Speaker 3: hood and that's where like he leaves his million dollar
- 5:35Speaker 3: mansion and goes and hangs out. They give out turkeys
- 5:38Speaker 3: and like full on like you know, stuffing and you
- 5:41Speaker 3: know yeahs and all the stuff.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Uh.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And then he goes and hangs out with his buddy,
- 5:47Speaker 3: And I love that. I think that's really really cool.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But he's like, man, that you got a backhouse or something.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Can we go to your place? After? Yeah?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Really, why do you always have to come to my house.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Why can't I come to yours?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Marshall rotate, Yeah, every other year.
- 6:11Speaker 3: How do I know where you live?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Like, yeah, marsians probably like, no, come.
- 6:18Speaker 3: To you keep it so I forgot the gate code.
- 6:24Speaker 2: He's keeping it so real. He doesn't want you anywhere
- 6:27Speaker 2: in his zip code, but he'll come to you.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's funny. Like the commercials that he does,
- 6:35Speaker 3: you can tell like that's just his personality, Like that's
- 6:39Speaker 3: just who he is. Like there's no there's no acting
- 6:43Speaker 3: school that he went to.
- 6:46Speaker 2: No, there's no acting school that's going to teach that. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 2: James Lipton from Inside the Actors Studio is not exactly
- 6:54Speaker 2: going to sit down and do a character study with
- 6:57Speaker 2: Marshawn Lynch. He might do one on Marshawn Lynch, but yeah, I.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Would lose my shit if he did.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Today Inside the Actors Studio, we are going to examine
- 7:12Speaker 2: the Marshawn Lynch method.
- 7:17Speaker 3: When he asked him what his favorite ord is, I'm
- 7:20Speaker 3: gonna be just sitting on the edge of my bed. Oh,
- 7:23Speaker 3: you're right.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I would actually love just to see the final questionnaire
- 7:27Speaker 2: with Marshawn Lynch. Yeah, Marshawn, if there is a heaven
- 7:33Speaker 2: do you what do you think it's like?
- 7:37Speaker 3: And he's like, g's up hose down.
- 7:39Speaker 2: You're like, what, Yeah, It's gonna go right over James
- 7:44Speaker 2: Lipton's head.
- 7:45Speaker 3: But whatever, We'll love it. That will be part of
- 7:47Speaker 3: the fun. Uh.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Speaking of fun, if you would like to play Grand
- 7:53Speaker 2: Theft Auto six before anyone else does, you're gonna need cancer.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Rockstar Games, the company behind the popular Grand Theft Auto game,
- 8:06Speaker 2: may have given a terminally ill fan the ability to
- 8:10Speaker 2: play test the highly anticipated but delay GTA six game.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Ubi Soft Toronto game developer Anthony Armstrong took the LinkedIn
- 8:18Speaker 2: back in December to plead with rock Star to let
- 8:21Speaker 2: a family member play test the game. Since he was
- 8:23Speaker 2: given no more than a year to live, Armstrong offered
- 8:28Speaker 2: to sign an NDA if it was able to happen.
- 8:32Speaker 2: He made two updates to the post before deleting it.
- 8:34Speaker 2: According to Insider Gaming, a few weeks after the post,
- 8:37Speaker 2: the first explained for the CEO of Take two Interactive
- 8:41Speaker 2: Software Incorporated, Rockstar Games publishing company had reached out. He said,
- 8:46Speaker 2: we are just waiting to hear from the Rockstar team
- 8:47Speaker 2: to discuss this further. Thank you to everyone who's shown support,
- 8:50Speaker 2: reshared and reached out to your contacts for us. The
- 8:54Speaker 2: final update said they had gotten great news and added
- 8:57Speaker 2: thanks again, but could not explain further. It's unclear if
- 9:02Speaker 2: the fan was able to play test the game. Rockstar
- 9:06Speaker 2: has not commented publicly. The sixth installment of the cult
- 9:11Speaker 2: classic video game series, originally set to come out Fall
- 9:14Speaker 2: twenty twenty five, but delayed to May of this year,
- 9:18Speaker 2: is now set to release November of this year.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So that might be.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Your best chance at playing GTA six before anybody else.
- 9:29Speaker 2: You're gonna have to die.
- 9:30Speaker 1: So the terminally ill guy was willing to sign an NDA,
- 9:39Speaker 1: of course he was.
- 9:42Speaker 3: He'll sign whatever you want. He doesn't even care sue
- 9:46Speaker 3: me NDA and LLC. He'll sign whatever you need. I'll
- 9:54Speaker 3: end over my business, my mortgage, whatever you need.
- 9:57Speaker 1: HM, I'll sign up all my future earnings.
- 10:04Speaker 2: And I'm gonna go ahead and take out a reverse mortgage.

- 13:27Speaker 2: DFW and the Know Your Home Show starting this week.
- 13:31Speaker 2: So congratulations to the Cooks. All right, Raj, what's going
- 13:35Speaker 2: on with you lately? Because if you don't have enough problems.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I am very sick. I was There's a little Tonco
- 13:45Speaker 3: place across the way for me and I just went
- 13:50Speaker 3: to pick up a couple of you know, little street concos,
- 13:52Speaker 3: just to have a little dinner. There's a big Indian
- 13:55Speaker 3: family that was sitting there and this kid wouldn't stop coughing,
- 14:00Speaker 3: like it was every three seconds. And I'm like, at
- 14:03Speaker 3: least one of you has to be a physician, and
- 14:10Speaker 3: nobody's stopping this kid. So I go to the manager.
- 14:12Speaker 3: I was like, this kid needs to leave because he's
- 14:15Speaker 3: visibly sick, like I can see it. I'm like, he
- 14:19Speaker 3: needs to go home, like he needs to get out,
- 14:21Speaker 3: he's going to get this whole restaurant sick today so
- 14:27Speaker 3: they can't sing. Well, no, I just want to I
- 14:31Speaker 3: don't want people to get sick, especially after having the
- 14:35Speaker 3: blood infection uh and then the flu after that. Uh.
- 14:39Speaker 3: And I just went to the table because he's like,
- 14:43Speaker 3: I can't ask them to leave, and I was like, well,
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm Indian, I can. And I was like, you need
- 14:49Speaker 3: to tell this kid. You guys have to take this
- 14:51Speaker 3: kid home. And they're like, yeah, we know he's not
- 14:54Speaker 3: feeling great, but we have guests in from out of town,
- 14:58Speaker 3: so we're here for lunch. I was like, he's going
- 14:59Speaker 3: to get this entire And then this kid in the
- 15:02Speaker 3: time that I said all of this probably coughed on
- 15:05Speaker 3: me ten times.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Is he even trying to cough or anything?
- 15:12Speaker 3: He I mean, he was trying to do the elbow thing,
- 15:14Speaker 3: but he was missing like this kid, I mean, he's
- 15:16Speaker 3: a spelling wee kid. He's not like he's not going
- 15:20Speaker 3: He doesn't understand how to cover that up like like
- 15:24Speaker 3: an athlete would. He's more of an athlete.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I didn't think coughing in your elbow was a performative
- 15:32Speaker 2: task or something that it takes athletic skill.
- 15:35Speaker 3: To me, Oh, you know how to do it, Like,
- 15:37Speaker 3: look if you're in the dugout or if you're on
- 15:39Speaker 3: the sideline, like, you know how to do it. This
- 15:41Speaker 3: kid is like, oh, I'm a spelling bee kid. Anyway,
- 15:45Speaker 3: he coughed on me about ten times, and about five
- 15:47Speaker 3: o'clock this morning, I woke up and my joints, like
- 15:51Speaker 3: my fingers were just in so much pain, and my
- 15:56Speaker 3: nose was running, and I was like, here we go.
- 15:59Speaker 3: And I know that kid got everybody at that table
- 16:01Speaker 3: sick guaranteed, and everybody in that restaurant is guaranteed to
- 16:07Speaker 3: have the flu. I don't know why, It's just.
- 16:14Speaker 1: It boggles my mind that, yeah, you still see people
- 16:18Speaker 1: wearing masks, but never the people that actually really should
- 16:21Speaker 1: be wearing a mask are the ones doing it.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Well, it seems. I think you're right.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I think the people that continue to wear masks are
- 16:29Speaker 2: the ones that are protecting themselves from the people who
- 16:32Speaker 2: should be.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Oh well, yeah. I asked the manager. I was like,
- 16:42Speaker 3: can you get this kid a mask at least, like
- 16:44Speaker 3: that's the least you can do, And they're like, no,
- 16:47Speaker 3: if the parents ask for one, we can't. They're like
- 16:49Speaker 3: all these rules and regulations or whatever, and he's just
- 16:52Speaker 3: gonna get everybody sick. And there was elderly people at
- 16:55Speaker 3: that table, so I'm thinking he's gonna kill one of
- 16:59Speaker 3: his grandparents.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Well such his life is is? Uh is what a
- 17:06Speaker 2: lot of people.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Say, Well, that's that's what his grandpa's gonna say on
- 17:11Speaker 3: the last minute, because I mean he was an older,
- 17:17Speaker 3: older gentleman like yeah, probably in his like late eighties.
- 17:21Speaker 3: And I'm like, you're coughing around this guy, Like I'm
- 17:26Speaker 3: I'll be okay, I could still go to a hospital.
- 17:29Speaker 3: This guy's not I'm gonna I mean, it's not it.
- 17:38Speaker 3: It won't be good for that guy.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I don't know about you, but it sounds a lot
- 17:43Speaker 2: to me, like not only did this kid get you sick,
- 17:45Speaker 2: but he also infected your internet like hard, like it's
- 17:56Speaker 2: not just your joints that are that are locking up. Well,
- 18:04Speaker 2: we hope you feel better and you're now you're muted.
- 18:09Speaker 2: The The lesson here is if you want, if you
- 18:12Speaker 2: notice a sick person that is getting everyone around them sick,
- 18:16Speaker 2: don't go to the table to tell them to go away.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Shout it from across the room, write it down on
- 18:22Speaker 2: a sheet of paper and hold it up. You know,
- 18:24Speaker 2: something along those lines.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I did try that. I did ask them from a
- 18:29Speaker 3: cross because I was just waiting for my food from
- 18:32Speaker 3: across the way. I was like, can you please take
- 18:34Speaker 3: that kid home? He's visibly sick, and they pretend okay.
- 18:41Speaker 6: So here's here's what I just ordered, Like I order
- 18:44Speaker 6: on the phone. No, I just order on the phone,
- 18:51Speaker 6: and I just go up.
- 18:52Speaker 3: To the bar. That's where they that's where they have
- 18:54Speaker 3: the to go. So I just go and pick it
- 18:57Speaker 3: up and that's it. So I was just waiting because
- 18:59Speaker 3: it was a little delay, and so that was it.
- 19:05Speaker 2: So in the future, if you're going in to pick
- 19:09Speaker 2: up food and you see a sick child or an
- 19:11Speaker 2: adult who's hacking up bacteria and viruses and god knows
- 19:16Speaker 2: what else, and they're not responding to you verbally saying
- 19:20Speaker 2: go away, you then need to get some distance between
- 19:23Speaker 2: you and them, okay, and then just rely on hand gestures. Okay,
- 19:30Speaker 2: point at them, do the throat slip thing with your thumb,
- 19:35Speaker 2: and then point back.
- 19:36Speaker 3: At as an Indian guy.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yes, well, in this case, it was another Indian family.
- 19:42Speaker 2: So I think the restaurant would be fine.
- 19:43Speaker 5: With it.
- 19:44Speaker 2: So then the next one is you point the finger
- 19:46Speaker 2: again and then you make the gun hand gesture at
- 19:51Speaker 2: them and then point to the door. Or you go
- 19:55Speaker 2: along to you thing, you point it yourself, and then
- 19:59Speaker 2: you point at them and then bang bang gun fingers
- 20:01Speaker 2: and then point to the door. Then that should get
- 20:04Speaker 2: them to leave.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Sure, And how long do you think before Ice shows up?
- 20:10Speaker 2: Well, you have nothing to worry about as long as
- 20:12Speaker 2: you've got your papers. Forget probable cause or anything like that.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You just gonna have to have your papers now. Or
- 20:24Speaker 2: if you want to make it really efficient, just go
- 20:28Speaker 2: around everywhere with just so it's a fabric on your
- 20:32Speaker 2: shirt with a big sea on it for citizen. That way,
- 20:35Speaker 2: it just streams, streamlines the whole process.
- 20:39Speaker 3: All right, Well, I mean I'll write you guys from getmouh.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I mean there was no hint of hent of irony
- 20:46Speaker 1: with the Indian guy getting tacos.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yes, you have no idea how much Indian people love
- 20:55Speaker 3: taco bell brother, you have no clue.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Well, and on top of that, the only thing really
- 21:00Speaker 2: more ironic would be Ice going into a taco joint
- 21:03Speaker 2: solely for tacos. Like, no, really, we're just here for lunch,
- 21:08Speaker 2: but no one believes it. Sorry, there's no tacos because
- 21:12Speaker 2: the whole kitchen staff just.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Went out the back. Well again, we hope you feel better.
- 21:22Speaker 3: I'm trying to do my best. I have my antibiotics
- 21:25Speaker 3: and I'm good. So we're taking those every couple hours,
- 21:29Speaker 3: so we should be fined in a couple of days.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Well, let's touch on something we know about all too well,
- 21:34Speaker 2: and that is the dumbing down of entertainment. So Matt
- 21:38Speaker 2: Damon and Ben Affleck are on their promotional tour for
- 21:40Speaker 2: their new Netflix movie The Rip, and they went on
- 21:44Speaker 2: Joe Rogan's podcast on Friday and shared this little tidbit.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I think you know, you're watching in a room.
- 21:51Speaker 7: The lights are on, other shit's going on, the kids
- 21:54Speaker 7: are running around, the dogs are running around, whatever it is,
- 21:56Speaker 7: you know what I mean. It's just a very different
- 21:58Speaker 7: level of attention that you're willing to or that you're
- 22:00Speaker 7: able to give to it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: So he's talking about watching television shows and movies at
- 22:05Speaker 2: home as opposed to the theater.
- 22:07Speaker 7: And that has a big effect, and it also ends
- 22:09Speaker 7: up having an effect or is starting to have an
- 22:10Speaker 7: effect on how you make movies, like, for instance, Netflix.
- 22:15Speaker 7: You know, standard way to make an action movie that
- 22:17Speaker 7: we learned was, you know, you usually have like three
- 22:20Speaker 7: set pieces, one in the first act one and the
- 22:22Speaker 7: second one and the third and you know, you kind
- 22:24Speaker 7: of they kind of ramp up and the big one
- 22:25Speaker 7: with all the explosions, and you spend most of your
- 22:27Speaker 7: money on that one in the third act.
- 22:29Speaker 2: That's your kind of finale.
- 22:31Speaker 7: And now they're you know, they're like, can we get
- 22:33Speaker 7: a big one in the first five minutes to get somebody?
- 22:35Speaker 7: You know, we want people to stay yeah, tuned in
- 22:38Speaker 7: and ken and you know, it wouldn't be terrible if
- 22:41Speaker 7: you reiterated the plot three or four times in the
- 22:44Speaker 7: dialogue because people are on their phones while.
- 22:46Speaker 3: They're watching, you know what I mean.
- 22:48Speaker 7: And so then it's gonna really start to infringe on
- 22:52Speaker 7: how we're telling about.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Now this has gone somewhat viral. It's very news worthy.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Last couple of days, I've seen this headline everywhere Matt Damon,
- 23:04Speaker 2: Ben Affleck on Rogan's podcast talk about how Netflix is
- 23:08Speaker 2: needing people to reiterate the plot in the dialogue in
- 23:12Speaker 2: the shows because everyone's watching on their phones. The thing
- 23:19Speaker 2: that I thought was interesting was like four months ago,
- 23:23Speaker 2: on a different podcast, an actress said this exact same thing.
- 23:28Speaker 2: So this is not an isolated deal. This was just
- 23:32Speaker 2: more attention being brought to something that's been happening because
- 23:37Speaker 2: of the fame that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon bring
- 23:41Speaker 2: to it. This is Jamila Jamil, actress on I forget
- 23:45Speaker 2: the name of the show it's on here. It's a
- 23:48Speaker 2: British podcast, I believe, and she says the exact same thing.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And this is from a few months ago where of this.
- 23:54Speaker 8: But there's something called second screen viewing, right, so it's
- 23:58Speaker 8: a directive that's being handed out out by big studios
- 24:01Speaker 8: to filmmakers.
- 24:03Speaker 3: This sounds like what I'm I'm really hoping it isn't
- 24:06Speaker 3: It is exactly what you probably think it is.
- 24:08Speaker 8: This is something which is so that which means that
- 24:11Speaker 8: you have to acknowledge that people are on their phones
- 24:13Speaker 8: the whole time they're watching Telly, so you have to
- 24:16Speaker 8: simplify the plot so that they'll be able to follow
- 24:18Speaker 8: along while they're browsing on their phone. So that's why
- 24:21Speaker 8: you'll notice now in random light in TV shows, even
- 24:24Speaker 8: with good actors, they're saying really obvious things about what's happening.
- 24:28Speaker 8: They're laying out the entire plot line and all of
- 24:32Speaker 8: their emotions and motivations. Like the language has become really
- 24:35Speaker 8: bait and on the nose. And that's because they're being told,
- 24:39Speaker 8: the writers that they have to write in a way
- 24:41Speaker 8: that someone can carry on with doom scrolling or shopping
- 24:45Speaker 8: online while following it in the background. So nothing can
- 24:48Speaker 8: be too complex, nothing can be too high end. It
- 24:51Speaker 8: has to be like we are. We are purposefully dumbing
- 24:54Speaker 8: down content, and that is leading to a less nuanced,
- 24:58Speaker 8: less interesting, less thoughtful society.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Say wow, yeah, I believe it.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah, congratulations, We're all idiots now. Uh And and this
- 25:10Speaker 2: bothers me to no end because I'm very big on
- 25:14Speaker 2: if I'm going to watch a show, if I'm going
- 25:16Speaker 2: to watch a movie, I don't want to be on
- 25:18Speaker 2: my phone doing something else because I want to pay
- 25:21Speaker 2: attention to what I'm seeing, because I don't want to
- 25:23Speaker 2: miss something. I want to I want to give it
- 25:26Speaker 2: my undivided attention.
- 25:28Speaker 3: This is sad. Yeah, but we're old, Like that's what
- 25:34Speaker 3: you did as a kid, Like you just watched whatever
- 25:37Speaker 3: was on TV, like you know you had you know,
- 25:39Speaker 3: there was family time, like we had every Friday. We
- 25:42Speaker 3: would get like long John Silvers or pizza in uh
- 25:46Speaker 3: and watch Dallas like that was the thing. And you
- 25:50Speaker 3: the phone, nobody answered the phone, nobody answered anything. Uh.
- 25:55Speaker 3: And then when we got older, like I do this now,
- 25:58Speaker 3: I'll put my phone away. I'll put my phone much
- 26:00Speaker 3: or yeah, if I'm watching a movie that I really
- 26:03Speaker 3: really interested in, just so there's no distractions. I mean
- 26:09Speaker 3: this yeah, well this.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Is I mean, this goes back when uh, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: top Gun Matt, when Tom Cruise was adamant about his
- 26:19Speaker 1: movies being in the theater not getting released home video.
- 26:23Speaker 1: This was kind of the same thing. He said, you know,
- 26:26Speaker 1: it's a different viewing experience. People don't pay attention at home.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh yeah. My ex, her daughter, I mean I
- 26:33Speaker 3: think she's going to be seventeen or eighteen now, but
- 26:37Speaker 3: I mean that was her thing. Like we would be
- 26:40Speaker 3: like we would have to tell her, like put your
- 26:43Speaker 3: phone now, put your phone away, put your phone in
- 26:44Speaker 3: your purse. When we're at the movies, and if we're
- 26:47Speaker 3: at home, it didn't matter. Like literally, you could have
- 26:51Speaker 3: anything happen on TV and this kid wouldn't know because
- 26:55Speaker 3: she's my ex was guilty of it as well, because
- 26:57Speaker 3: she would be on YouTube or at See or Amazon
- 27:02Speaker 3: doing the same thing, and I'm like, am I the
- 27:03Speaker 3: only one watching the movie? Yes? Yeah, yeah, I'd like.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And that's that's why it's this fascinated me is because
- 27:14Speaker 2: I saw that clip of Jimmie lejimil like back in October,
- 27:18Speaker 2: and I thought, my god, I hope this is not
- 27:21Speaker 2: going to actually happen. It's just something that's being floated.
- 27:25Speaker 2: And then it now has one hundred percent credibility because
- 27:29Speaker 2: you got Matt Damon and Ben Affleck talking about it, saying, yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 2: Netflix wants us to do this because people are at
- 27:34Speaker 2: home not paying close attention to what's happening, which means
- 27:39Speaker 2: eventually in movies we're going to have, you know, the
- 27:42Speaker 2: good guy you know or the bad guy is doing
- 27:45Speaker 2: something and they're going to have to say the thing
- 27:47Speaker 2: they're doing as they're doing it because someone may not
- 27:51Speaker 2: be watching.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Right, It's like I.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Am now hitting you in the face because you took
- 27:57Speaker 2: my daughter.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, imagine, okay, so great example. Imagine taking on those rules. Yeah, right,
- 28:05Speaker 3: that the movie.
- 28:07Speaker 2: The whole point of movies and television is to watch them.
- 28:11Speaker 2: The whole point is you don't say in the dialogue
- 28:15Speaker 2: what's happening if you can see it, that's the whole point.
- 28:19Speaker 2: If you start doing that, then we might as well
- 28:22Speaker 2: go back to radio days of having your cereals and
- 28:25Speaker 2: your dramas on radio without the picture, because you're just
- 28:29Speaker 2: you know, it's exposition left and right and you're right rise.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I mean, just imagine, you know, Liam Mason talking throughout
- 28:38Speaker 2: every kill.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I'm kicking you in the knee because you stole my daughter.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I'm punching you in the throat because you stole my daughter.
- 28:46Speaker 2: All the I'm shooting you in the elevator four times
- 28:49Speaker 2: because this is the director's cut, not the theater edition
- 28:52Speaker 2: where I only shot you twice. Yeah, it's just dumb,
- 28:56Speaker 2: but I'm afraid that's where we're headed.
- 28:58Speaker 3: I'm on a plane and there are snakes.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Couldn't you just show us there on the plane? Do
- 29:08Speaker 2: you really have to say it? I don't think this
- 29:11Speaker 2: needs to be spelled out? And then meanwhile, you got
- 29:13Speaker 2: a thirteen year old looking up going what's going on?
- 29:16Speaker 3: I don't get it?
- 29:18Speaker 1: But also, yeah, I think it speaks to the writing
- 29:23Speaker 1: as well, because an example of where this is not
- 29:27Speaker 1: the case stranger things. So if you have really good writing,
- 29:31Speaker 1: I think it can still stand on its own and
- 29:33Speaker 1: will keep people's interests. But I think a lot of
- 29:37Speaker 1: I mean, there's so much out there, yeah that when
- 29:41Speaker 1: I think you have and the majority of it, I'll
- 29:44Speaker 1: say just mid content, and I think to keep people's attention,
- 29:47Speaker 1: then yeah, they have to have the bells and whistles
- 29:49Speaker 1: and repetition and everything else.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a strong believer in don't dumb things down
- 29:57Speaker 2: for people. Instead, do your thing and put it on
- 30:02Speaker 2: the audience. If they're attracted to this content, whether it's
- 30:06Speaker 2: film or television or even a social media video, elevate them.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Like if you know a really good word that fits
- 30:15Speaker 2: in someplace, but maybe it's an eleventh grade word instead
- 30:19Speaker 2: of a seventh grade word, which is what people typically
- 30:21Speaker 2: say to recommend your writing level should be at, which
- 30:25Speaker 2: is more of a seventh grade level than to advanced.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Use the big word.
- 30:30Speaker 2: If it's really good and it fits, let someone learn
- 30:37Speaker 2: or you know, bring them up a little bit. As
- 30:39Speaker 2: opposed to you dumbing yourself down for the masses.
- 30:44Speaker 1: It was very verbose.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I mean you've also said, like I'm going to rewatch
- 30:47Speaker 3: this I'm going to rewatch this. I'm going to rewatch
- 30:49Speaker 3: these episodes. So that means that you've spaced out on
- 30:54Speaker 3: some of what you were missing or to try to
- 30:56Speaker 3: catch up or making sure that you have all the context.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Line, Oh, I love context. Context is important.
- 31:05Speaker 3: And right, But then you're guilty of that as well.
- 31:08Speaker 3: How I don't understand, because if you watched it the
- 31:10Speaker 3: first time, like it's like the like the Bourne series, right,
- 31:14Speaker 3: Like I love the Born series just because it's just
- 31:17Speaker 3: fun to watch. But I don't have to rewatch it,
- 31:19Speaker 3: like I know the exact plot and scale of the movie.
- 31:23Speaker 3: But if you're going, hey, I got to rewatch this
- 31:25Speaker 3: before season five, that's saying that you there's some context
- 31:29Speaker 3: that you're missing.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Possibly, No, that just means that I've watched a lot
- 31:33Speaker 2: of things since then. Like before I watched season five
- 31:36Speaker 2: of Stranger Things, I rewatched you know, the season four
- 31:40Speaker 2: to kind of build up to it, and the Duffers
- 31:43Speaker 2: had put out like four episodes to watch throughout the
- 31:46Speaker 2: entirety of the series to kind of remind yourself of
- 31:49Speaker 2: certain little things. I don't think there's anything wrong with that,
- 31:52Speaker 2: because it's hard to remember something that happened in season
- 31:55Speaker 2: two when all these other things have stacked that have
- 31:58Speaker 2: happened on top of it. That's just And also, I have,
- 32:01Speaker 2: you know, crap memory, and I've also watched fifteen other
- 32:04Speaker 2: movies or television shows in between, so I'm not going
- 32:08Speaker 2: to retain every tiny nugget.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Well, you're also talking about in a season like with Stranger,
- 32:13Speaker 1: things like ten hours of content that you're trying to
- 32:16Speaker 1: remember versus a two hour movie.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, I mean, I'm okay, yeah, fair. I mean,
- 32:23Speaker 2: I pay it the stuff that I truly care about
- 32:25Speaker 2: and want to watch.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I watch it.
- 32:27Speaker 2: I stare at it, and to a point to where
- 32:31Speaker 2: it may want to, you know, issue some type of
- 32:34Speaker 2: restraining order against me. I'm watching it so intently, I'm
- 32:36Speaker 2: like a stalker.
- 32:38Speaker 3: That's awesome. How was my dry bar special? I loved it.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I've never seen anybody lie that well. I'm phenomenal at
- 32:53Speaker 3: it when I try.
- 32:57Speaker 2: If I really focus on the lie, I could do
- 32:59Speaker 2: it really good.
- 33:00Speaker 3: That was fantastic. Brother, your faith said, you have a special?

- 35:33Speaker 2: I mean, I'm gonna I'm gonna pass.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought.
- 35:45Speaker 1: So one thing that said, and they're right. You know,
- 35:47Speaker 1: it's like Joe Exotic found love and got married in prison.
- 35:50Speaker 1: What's your problem?
- 35:54Speaker 2: You're just too picky?
- 35:59Speaker 3: Maybe that actually is it.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Maybe that's a good thing, going to prison to find love,
- 36:09Speaker 2: because look, when you know your options are extremely limited,
- 36:12Speaker 2: you're gonna let certain traits and qualities go just for
- 36:15Speaker 2: the sake of companionship. Things that maybe you would have
- 36:19Speaker 2: seen as red flags on the outside aren't so bad
- 36:24Speaker 2: when you're locked up on the inside.
- 36:32Speaker 1: No, I think it's uh, it's all pretty bad.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Red flag on the outside is red flag on the inside.
- 36:43Speaker 1: You may there, granted, you know Joe exotics red Flag
- 36:50Speaker 1: looks more like you know what, you'd raise it. Poncho's
- 36:53Speaker 1: uh yeah, he doesn't seem to be too picky. Yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 1: I mean especially, I mean, if you're a gay, crazy
- 37:01Speaker 1: guy and you're going to prison, it's not gonna like
- 37:03Speaker 1: a buffet.
- 37:04Speaker 2: That's true. And honestly, it's kind of like Joe exotics.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Ven diagram for love and possible relationships is really really big.
