- 3:58was not quick. He was on crutches with his right
- 4:03foot in a walking boot after surgery on a broken

- 5:39to the child. The incident occurred when the
- 5:42child ran from behind a parked sport utility
- 5:44vehicle into traffic. The vehicle braked hard,
- 5:47reducing speed from 17 mph to 6 mph before impact.
- 5:53This incident has prompted a federal safety investigation,
- 5:57with Waymo asserting that its autonomous system

- 6:18the Securities and Exchange Commission and the
- 6:21Commodity Futures Trading Commission pledged
- 6:23to join forces. These two agencies, which have
- 6:27historically sparred over jurisdictional boundaries,
- 6:30aimed to harmonize operations and eliminate confusion
- 6:33in the market. At an event, SEC Chair Paul Atkins
- 6:38and CFTC Chair Michael Selig discussed their
- 6:41collaboration on the Project Crypto initiative.
- 6:45Selig stated, Project Crypto recognizes that
- 6:48crypto markets span across our agency's respective
- 6:51regulatory frameworks. This collaboration is
- 6:54a repudiation of the previous administration's
- 6:57approach towards regulating cryptocurrency. Atkins
- 7:01emphasized that a federal framework for these
- 7:03rapidly evolving markets is long overdue. In
