- 0:00Oh yeah! Coming up... You told a ghost to manifest,
- 0:03dumbass! I totally just heard something. Nope.
- 0:05Cannot deal with that right now. Like, what?!
- 0:09So welcome back to Paranormal Lens for the 50th
- 0:14time. So this is a big milestone, you guys. We
- 0:19hit 50 episodes. Woohoo! Yeah, did you know most
- 0:24podcasts actually don't get past episode 7? Like,
- 0:27that's like the defining... numbers like if you
- 0:30get past seven like shit you've made it and then
- 0:33we've done that actual fact yeah it is it is
- 0:36and the fact that we at this point have well
- 0:39over a thousand downloads we're at episode 50
- 0:42every week we haven't missed a week even the
- 0:45time the hard drive corrupted all the files of
- 0:50previously recorded you because we backlog and
- 0:52There was a whole mess with the hard drive corrupting
- 0:55all the files and stuff. Even then, we didn't
- 0:57miss that week because we did a bonus on Monday.
- 1:02Consistency has paid off and sets us apart from
- 1:07the rest. I don't see us slowing down at all
- 1:11either. No, sir. Unless we are failing to come
- 1:15up with topics. That's impossible. Here's the
- 1:18thing. In the future, yeah. There's going to
- 1:22be repeated topics. There's going to be kind
- 1:26of germs of ideas that just kind of we talk about
- 1:29it for two minutes and then that rest of the
- 1:31episode is tangents. But this podcast has always
- 1:35been and is going to remain just minimally edited,
- 1:40raw, candid conversations mirroring and putting
- 1:43on record our normal conversations we have all
- 1:46the time. I mean, every time we have a conversation,
- 1:50it's not always scripted or with a bunch of beats
- 1:54we want to hit. We're going to have some more
- 1:56loosey -goosey episodes, and that's just kind
- 1:58of natural, or we're going to revisit topics.
- 2:01Because we're always learning and evolving, and
- 2:06opinions change, as people know. Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:11And now that we hit the 50, in my head, I had
- 2:14episode 50 as kind of like a benchmark. If we
- 2:17can hit 50... we're taking this to the next level
- 2:20it's still the same season we'll probably take
- 2:24a little break and do season two after the holidays
- 2:26uh because it will be all hands on deck here
- 2:29in the south hold over the holidays preventing
- 2:32angela from doing anything caustic or dangerous
- 2:35as in summoning santa claus or bigfoot or bigfoot
- 2:42yeah but bigfoot isn't seasonal Santa, can you
- 2:47summon Santa during summer? That's a good question.
- 2:52Actually, he might be less busy. I don't think
- 2:55anyone's tried. Yeah. I don't know. It might
- 2:58be easier to summon Santa during summer. Maybe
- 3:00we'll have to take a summer break. Nah, but I
- 3:02don't wanna. I don't wanna. We've backlogged
- 3:05enough anyways. We're basically talking to the
- 3:08future. It's basically fall already. It's August.
- 3:11We're recording this in June. this will probably
- 3:16be in july but still whatever and we're recording
- 3:19a couple months in advance um point being we're
- 3:22not stopping if anything we're ramping up yeah
- 3:25so for our 50th episode special we're celebrating
- 3:30episode 50 i had the idea to do like an ama ask
- 3:34me anything style episode where we answer speed
- 3:39round 50 questions um these are questions where
- 3:43honestly i don't think warrant probably full
- 3:47episodes but we might revisit these for future
- 3:51episodes or how funny would it be if i cut each
- 3:56speed round question into a individual two minute
- 3:59episode so that by the end of episode 50 we're
- 4:02at episode 100 god ben i think everyone would
- 4:06hate us oh 100 don't they say there's no such
- 4:10thing as like bad press like most hated paranormal
- 4:13podcasts would actually get more listens. Probably,
- 4:18yes. Probably. I still wouldn't like it. I would
- 4:22quit. You'd quit? Yeah. Of all things for you
- 4:27to quit. We're not hated. It would be an eye
- 4:31-opening experience because everyone loves us.
- 4:33To be simultaneously hated and Angela quits all
- 4:37because I post 52 -minute episodes. I just imagine
- 4:44Angela sitting there Everyone loves us Everyone
- 4:47loves us, Ben says I imagine Angela just sitting
- 4:51there angrily typing out like a Like, she wouldn't,
- 4:54like, just say it to us. She would, like, send
- 4:55us an email. She's like, are you fucking kidding
- 4:58me, you guys? I can barely stand the episodes
- 5:01that are less than 30 minutes. You posted one
- 5:04that was 29 minutes. I almost didn't even want
- 5:06to listen to it. Now you're posting two -minute
- 5:07episodes. I can't. My commute to work is 30 minutes.
- 5:11What am I going to do for the other 28? Ah, Santa!
- 5:14Ho, ho, ho. I don't know. She'd probably throw
- 5:20something in about cheese, though. Pretty accurate,
- 5:23to be honest. Don't quit, Ange. I'm not gonna
- 5:27quit, unless you make 50 episodes that are two
- 5:29minutes long. Okay, so, um, we'll just keep it
- 5:34contained to this episode. I have no concept
- 5:36of how long 50 questions takes, but it might
- 5:38be two parts, three max. I won't do the 50 episodes
- 5:43to appease Angela. So what we did, too, is we
- 5:48had a chat GPT prompt, because if we did... 50
- 5:52actual ama style ask me anything style questions
- 5:56it would be all the generic uh questions we always
- 6:01get at conventions and stuff and i wanted to
- 6:03make this special and beyond just the questions
- 6:08that anyone listening would be like i already
- 6:10heard them answer that um so To do so, we had
- 6:15a chat GPT prompt that generated a bunch of random
- 6:18questions, so we're just gonna randomly pull
- 6:20from these and have it like a fake AMA style.
- 6:23I'm gonna go around one at a time questions,
- 6:26first me, then Brianna, then Angela, until we
- 6:31get to 50 questions. Does that make sense? Yes.
- 6:36Yeah! Welcome to our podcast, where we take deep
- 6:39dives looking at various topics through a paranormal
- 6:42lens. Okay, so let me see a good question here.
- 6:47Question one, what's the most underrated haunted
- 6:51location you've investigated? Kenyans? Kenyans
- 6:56Lakeside Resort in Lupton, Michigan. Yeah, because
- 6:59that is not something I had ever heard of before
- 7:02we went there. And that was such a fun place
- 7:06to investigate. Such incredible history, too,
- 7:08with the Prohibition era and the gangsters, and
- 7:11they found actual, like, bottles in the wall.
- 7:13Like, so many places in Michigan have, like,
- 7:15oh, the mob used to come here. Al Capone! And
- 7:18it's just, like, every single place claims that,
- 7:20but this is, like, legit. Like, they have evidence.
- 7:24What about you, Ange? Can I just say our apartment?
- 7:28Your apartment! That's fair. It's the first thing
- 7:33that came to my mind. And every week now, we
- 7:37go live on TikTok investigating our haunted apartment.
- 7:42Yes, we do. A little plug there. Alright, question
- 7:46two. You got one, Bree? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh,
- 7:52yeah. If a spirit could watch your documentaries,
- 7:58what do you think they'd criticize? This is...
- 8:02Not really, like, an answer to your question,
- 8:04but on our last TikTok Live we did... I was about
- 8:07to bring this up. Okay, so this will be our joint
- 8:10answer, then. On our last TikTok Live, we were
- 8:14doing an investigation with jocks at our haunted
- 8:17jester cabinet, and someone was talking about
- 8:19Gravity Falls, and jocks across multiple devices,
- 8:23Spirit Box and Dowsing Rod, simultaneously. Said
- 8:25he... hated because me and ancho just binged
- 8:28gravity falls he said he hated the show and it's
- 8:31stupid and the reason he hated it is because
- 8:33the paranormal elements and the supernatural
- 8:35lore in the show was inaccurate and he couldn't
- 8:38watch it but he liked ghost adventures yeah but
- 8:43he liked ghost adventures he said and knows who
- 8:45sam and kobe is and he oh yeah he knows sam and
- 8:48kobe enjoys ghost adventures but gravity falls
- 8:52that animated kids show horrendous shouldn't
- 8:55be shown for him can't do it inaccurate too inaccurate
- 8:58oh yeah i was i was on watching at that point
- 9:02that was funny dude that was hilarious so i guess
- 9:08like if we showed jocks like a movie or something
- 9:11that we made he'd probably just like focus on
- 9:14like the details we've asked him before and he
- 9:18says he liked some of them like seven mystery
- 9:21of jocks he liked that one he says Well, he's
- 9:24the star of that one. Yeah, he likes the ones
- 9:26he's in. He doesn't care about the other ones.
- 9:34Alright, my turn. What misconception has paranormal
- 9:41television created? Everything is demons. Oh,
- 9:46I thought you were going to say everything. I
- 9:48was going to say every misconception. Was because
- 9:51of paranormal television. So my answer is everything.
- 10:00No, but I was thinking demons, that everything's
- 10:03demon. Or, like, everything bad that happens,
- 10:06scary -wise, is a demon. Or an evil spirit. Yeah.
- 10:13Well, on the other side of that coin, of the
- 10:15demon coin, question four, what's the funniest
- 10:18interaction you've had with a spirit? Like the
- 10:21funniest thing a ghost has ever done. There's
- 10:23a time I was out at Parashini doing an investigation
- 10:29with a friend. I was just using ghost too. We
- 10:33weren't doing anything in particular funny. It
- 10:36had said something and it made me go off like,
- 10:39oh, it must be sad. Are you not understanding?
- 10:43You've passed away so young. And... Then what
- 10:49came through next was it calling us idiots. I
- 10:53remember you telling this story. And I'm like,
- 10:55hey. It was just the timing of it was like, oh,
- 11:01okay, yeah, sure. Didn't a spirit call me a bitch
- 11:09a few investigations ago? It did on a live, right?
- 11:14Yeah, during a live, yeah. Excuse me. And then
- 11:17the next investigation at the state house, it
- 11:20told me to suck its cock. Yes! That was funny.
- 11:26I liked it when me and Ben were at a cemetery
- 11:30once and we were playing Where's Waldo? And it
- 11:34led us straight to a grave where the last name
- 11:37was named Waldo. That was funny. That is pretty
- 11:41funny. If you think like, when was where, when
- 11:45was, where? Wait. Too many W's here. Calm down,
- 11:49Ben. What year... Okay, so that would be the
- 11:54when of the five W's. Okay. When was Where's
- 11:59Waldo... Yeah, every word in that sentence started
- 12:04with a W. When was Where's Waldo created? I don't
- 12:10know. If this ghost was... From a time before
- 12:14Where's Waldo was a thing, it could have just
- 12:16taken us up on that literally. Yeah. You never
- 12:21know. You can't use modern vernacular and, like,
- 12:26pop culture references with a ghost. Or can you?
- 12:29Jax knows Gravity Falls. Yeah. He knows a lot
- 12:33of things. I don't know. We'll have to look that
- 12:36up. I'm curious. Yeah. Alright, I think it's
- 12:40Bree for question five. What's a skeptical explanation
- 12:48for something that occurred that you initially
- 12:52rejected and then accepted? Ooh. That's a good
- 12:58one. And that's a hard question. It is a hard
- 13:01question. So something that we didn't believe
- 13:06was paranormal and then we accepted it as? I
- 13:09have a great example. So there's an investigation
- 13:12we did at this random park in the middle of nowhere.
- 13:16And there were like park benches, you know, like
- 13:19parks do. We're getting the weirdest EMF spikes.
- 13:23And it was like off the charts. I was like, how
- 13:25is this possible? And then someone present, because
- 13:30it was with MSU Paranormal Club, someone was
- 13:33just like, oh, there must be like electrical.
- 13:36And I was like, no, there's not. Like, it's not
- 13:39possible. Well. Later find out they got a grant
- 13:43and the wood park benches were installed with
- 13:47like this electric like fast charging type of
- 13:53weird technology stuff. And there's this whole
- 13:56article about it. So the plain ass random wood
- 14:01benches in the middle of this park in the middle
- 14:05of nowhere actually was rigged up with technology
- 14:07that would explain. high emf readings that's
- 14:12so crazy i just feel like that just another reason
- 14:15you can't really like prove emf readers that
- 14:19well because it literally anything could set
- 14:22it off when you think about it yeah would have
- 14:25thought those park benches would you know yeah
- 14:29i was just like dude i don't believe go submit
- 14:34emf i don't believe in half the emf shit but
- 14:40I do not think would emit this high of an EMF
- 14:44reading. And I was like, telling this guy he's
- 14:46stupid. But then I was stupid. But who would
- 14:49have known? Who'd have thunk? All right. If ghosts
- 14:53could haunt modern technology, what device would
- 14:57be the most terrifying? I can tell you the most
- 15:00common name for a ghost. What is it? Alexa. I
- 15:07was gonna say, Alexa would be pretty... Terrifying.
- 15:12You know how every ghost is like Emily, Sarah,
- 15:15George? Uh -huh. Alexa. Siri. Siri. And oh, all
- 15:25the Google people who think they just lucked
- 15:28out. Hey, Google. We just fucked with everyone's
- 15:31shit. Or a, like... an electric car of some sort
- 15:35it's like a tesla or those stupid cyber trucks
- 15:38or whatever it's on teslas yeah that would be
- 15:42kind of terrifying because those can do a lot
- 15:44of different things or do you know what like
- 15:47another one too is that it's like the whole ai
- 15:53situation ai would be scary if it gets like that's
- 15:58what i was gonna say was some sort of ai like
- 16:01generator yeah because it's like well you know
- 16:04how like when when will ai get like an actual
- 16:08like consciousness you know what you mean and
- 16:11you know it's kind of like it creates an egregore
- 16:15with ai or whatever like when would that happen
- 16:19yeah yeah no i i do think we should talk about
- 16:23that sometimes because like a you're essentially
- 16:26like all these ai chat bots really are kind of
- 16:29like egregores and stuff good topic that will
- 16:32soon to become listened okay next question okay
- 16:39so we love history and that's one of like the
- 16:43main things i think uh paranormal investigators
- 16:47are doing great in the world is bringing history
- 16:52and especially forgotten history to the forefront
- 16:54so what's like the one investigation that comes
- 16:58to your mind of like the history was more impressive
- 17:02and cooler and the stuff you found historically
- 17:06stood out more than any like paranormal like
- 17:08you went there to hunt ghosts and you ended up
- 17:10coming away being like well we didn't catch anything
- 17:12but the history is incredible i love talking
- 17:19about the Traverse City State like hospital history
- 17:23like it has such a deep rich history in what
- 17:30um like mental health and hospitalization what
- 17:36that looked like back in the day and how like
- 17:40that was the turning point in modern medicine
- 17:44for treating like the mentally ill yeah like
- 17:49that that is where it happened was at Traverse
- 17:51City State Hospital so the history alone of that
- 17:55place is so cool like when you do the tours you
- 17:59don't get to investigate like I lucked out and
- 18:02I got like a tour guide who was a paranormal
- 18:04investigator and he's like yeah you guys do your
- 18:06thing like but most of the time you don't get
- 18:10that because they are trying to move away from
- 18:12the paranormal and not advertise that because
- 18:15they're turning it into you know condos and stuff
- 18:17so just going there and knowing and learning
- 18:22the history all by itself is cool even if you
- 18:25don't have a paranormal experience and you know
- 18:30what's cool too is um Because I totally agree.
- 18:32We're at this stage of the podcast where I don't
- 18:35remember really what we have talked about on
- 18:37air, really, or not. But I do know that in one
- 18:41of the early episodes, maybe like one or two,
- 18:43like episode one or two, we used Traverse City
- 18:46State Hospital as like a model for like how a
- 18:49location should retire investigations if they
- 18:52do. Because they really do their tours really
- 18:54well, I think, there. Yeah. And history is at
- 18:58the forefront. This is... Maybe an easier question.
- 19:03What is the strangest sound you've ever captured
- 19:08on an investigation? I actually think recently
- 19:11we did a video at the Okemos Coffee Shop, which
- 19:17is a haunted coffee shop near us that just opened
- 19:20up and it's like really cool, whimsical vibes
- 19:22in there. Also very haunted. Really good coffee
- 19:26and drinks. Amazing coffee. Yeah. And... I don't
- 19:31know if this is strange, but I can't explain
- 19:33it. It's definitely one of the most unexplainable
- 19:36sounds, but we set up a bunch of static cameras
- 19:39around, and the place we had the most activity
- 19:42happened. We had a camera rolling there for a
- 19:45long time, and nothing came through on the audio.
- 19:51The waveform was completely flat, just white
- 19:54noise. Then the last minute of the recording,
- 19:56literally for a minute, you can hear fading in.
- 20:00this like heartbeat kind of like drum we forgot
- 20:06about this yeah yeah and it wasn't like mechanical
- 20:09it was varying in pattern and pattern and rhythm
- 20:13and volume yeah like a heartbeat it was really
- 20:17really weird yeah i've never heard anything like
- 20:20that before and you can tell it was right on
- 20:23the camera because the cameras are like kind
- 20:25of vibrating a little bit like like it was actually
- 20:28like it was almost like something was tapping
- 20:30rhythmically on the chair next to it or something.
- 20:33Yeah. And then the camera shut off completely.
- 20:36Yeah. Which it shouldn't have. So it's like it
- 20:42drained all the energy. Weird. It was weird.
- 20:47It was weird. Then the camera shuts off for no
- 21:26explainable reason. Yeah. That wasn't even on
- 21:29my brain, thinking about the strangest sound.
- 21:32I was gonna say, for myself, if I'm gonna share,
- 21:35like, strangest sound, like, the very first thing,
- 21:39like, EVP I ever captured on recording was from
- 21:44the Howell Opera House, and it sounded like a
- 21:47baby cooing. And it was so weird. And it just,
- 21:53it... shook me because one first time i've ever
- 21:56caught an evp and two not something you should
- 22:00be hearing in a howl in the house like in an
- 22:03opera house when there's just like college students
- 22:06there like it was so random so weird i still
- 22:10wish i wish i still had that recording because
- 22:13it was creepy like literally i was listening
- 22:16to it with my headphones on in my dorm room by
- 22:19myself heard that took my headphones off Set
- 22:23the recorder on the other side of the room. And
- 22:24I'm like nope. Cannot deal with that right now.
- 22:28That's so creepy. So. Yeah. I'm trying to think
- 22:35what mine is. I would say. When we got surrounded
- 22:39by coyotes. In Pirashini. And how the coyotes.
- 22:45Like. Didn't sound like coyotes. Yeah. It sounded
- 22:51like. which again goes back to like strike your
- 22:54cemetery i can't believe i didn't say strike
- 22:56that we talked about a couple episodes ago that
- 22:58growl bark to sound like a human mimicking a
- 23:01dog the coyotes sound like people really quick
- 23:05did any did either you guys just do a yawn or
- 23:09something like a few seconds ago no okay i totally
- 23:13just heard something in the room with me then
- 23:17sorry it just really that that was weird Can
- 23:21you record on your phone in case you catch? Yeah,
- 23:23I can try. I'm sorry, that just really took me
- 23:26off guard, and I wanted to say something before
- 23:28you guys maybe forgot you yawned or something.
- 23:30There's nothing in the room. I didn't hear anything
- 23:33through my headphones. And the first question
- 23:36about audio, strange sounds. And then there's
- 23:40a strange sound that just happened. I'm not even
- 23:42joking. It sounded like something a few feet
- 23:45away from me, like someone breathing in heavily.
- 23:51Weird. But yeah, anyways. No, no, I was just
- 23:54saying the coyotes at Pirashini, which is in
- 23:56the documentary Pirashini Plague in the Pines,
- 23:59which is now streaming on Paraflix. It sounded
- 24:02like people. Within the coyotes, you could hear
- 24:05women yelling and stuff. It was really weird.
- 24:08It didn't sound like real coyotes. No, and they
- 24:12were really close, so that was really weird.
- 24:15And then my favorite EVP that we have ever gotten.
- 24:22was, my name is Blake. Also a piercini, a little
- 24:27kid saying my name is Blake. That was the clearest
- 24:30EVP I have ever heard in my life. And question
- 24:34nine. You have question nine. Has investigating
- 24:38haunted places changed how you think about death?
- 24:41No. No. It's changed more about how I think about
- 24:45living than it has dying. That's true, too. No,
- 24:49it definitely changed for me. Really? Yeah. What
- 24:53changed? I mean, that could be a whole deep dive.
- 24:57All right, stay tuned. Stay tuned for the next
- 25:02two episodes, AI and dying. It's basically that
- 25:07I think there's a lot more things that could
- 25:09happen after death and there's a lot more to
- 25:12it and stuff like that and not just like the
- 25:15typical either you go to heaven. Or hell situation.
- 25:19Like I believed and was told growing up. Okay.
- 25:24What do you think is the one thing people misunderstand
- 25:29the most about paranormal investigating? You're
- 25:34not always going to have something happen. Yeah.
- 25:38Like, you're not always going to hear a voice.
- 25:41You're not always going to have something move
- 25:44or hear movement. Or not every time someone's
- 25:48going to get scratched or get possessed. All
- 25:53the things that are dramatized by TV ghost hunting.
- 26:00That's like 3 % of actual ghost hunting. Yeah.
- 26:07I just think to a live stream we did a week or
- 26:11two ago. Again in our apartment. We had activity
- 26:15non -stop. For like 45 minutes straight. Which
- 26:18is rare. And then right when activity. Which
- 26:21literally was happening every second. For like
- 26:24that entire duration. Finally cooled down for
- 26:27like a minute or two. Because TikTok lives. Anyone
- 26:30can come and go. Join. Leave. This one guy joined
- 26:34right when activity finally settled down. And
- 26:38he comments. Are you guys ghost hunting? And
- 26:41we're like yeah. And he goes. Why is nothing
- 26:42happening? This is so boring. And then I'm like,
- 26:45you're literally a minute late. Yeah. And also
- 26:50you've been on the live stream for 30 seconds.
- 26:52Yeah. What do you mean? Why is nothing happening?
- 26:57But that's people expect things to actually be
- 27:01nonstop. I have my next question. Okay. I love
- 27:04it. Okay. What's a question you wished people
- 27:08would ask? I don't know. All of these. These
- 27:15are all more interesting questions than, oh my
- 27:19god, you're a ghost hunter? What's the craziest
- 27:22thing you've ever experienced? Oh my god, you're
- 27:26a ghost hunter? Have you ever seen a ghost? Yeah.
- 27:33You're a ghost hunter. Have you seen Sam and
- 27:36Kobe? Yeah, that's a big one too. Yeah. oh but
- 27:41my favorite thing too is like when we every time
- 27:44we post anything about like a place we investigated
- 27:46someone always tags sam and colby saying sam
- 27:50and colby should make a video there and i'm like
- 27:54the whole point of this post is that we made
- 27:56a video there yeah we've we've got we did you
- 28:01can watch it right now I always have that temptation
- 28:05when someone's like, oh, have you watched the
- 28:07Sam and Colby episode? Or, oh, have you seen
- 28:09this thing that Sam and Colby did? I always want
- 28:12to be like, who's that? Who's that? Everyone
- 28:17in the paranormal field knows who they are. But,
- 28:20like, I've never watched any of their stuff.
- 28:22I could not tell you who is who. Yeah, whose
- 28:26question is it? Have you ever had an investigation
- 28:30become unexpectedly emotional? I'm thinking of
- 28:35that time we were at Stimson Hospital and we
- 28:39were in like that room in the basement and I
- 28:42got like really like angry and emotional. I've
- 28:46never seen you so affected. Yeah, you were. I
- 28:49mean, you, I think like everyone was feeling
- 28:54something. Except for me, I was just like, what's
- 28:57going on guys? And then there was another time
- 29:01at Stimson. Like I get, I get affected at Stimson.
- 29:04Like the other time too, we were, it was during
- 29:10your birthday, Ben. And I just got like another
- 29:14really annoyed. situation i think we all got
- 29:17annoyed and we all went our separate ways and
- 29:19took a me time for a little bit it was literally
- 29:22a sudden it was sudden we're all yeah yeah the
- 29:24vibe changed yep and we all had to like take
- 29:29a breather okay so my question is kind of like
- 29:34the inverse of a couple questions ago where we
- 29:38were like what's what's the most underrated haunted
- 29:41location what's A place we refuse to investigate.
- 29:47Now, just quite simply, what do you think is
- 29:49the most overrated location that you have just
- 29:51no desire to ever investigate? Like, you don't
- 29:54care. Like, a famous place, everyone goes, and
- 29:57you're just like, I could give two shits. Waverly
- 30:01Hills. Um... You know, I don't know. It's hard
- 30:09to say, because I... even if i don't go like
- 30:14get to investigate a place i would love to like
- 30:17even if it is overrated i would just want to
- 30:20go there to feel the vibes myself like i mean
- 30:23i i agree too but yeah i know what you mean my
- 30:28answer is still waverly hills though yeah we've
- 30:32talked before there's there's rumors they brought
- 30:34darker energies there they've embellished history
- 30:38there is this yeah Yeah. Oh, what's that? Um,
- 30:45the Cecil Hotel. Oh, yeah, that's another one,
- 30:50too. That's just so... That one I'm like, eh.
- 30:54So overdone. Yeah. Talk about one singular incident
- 30:57that's just blown out of proportion. Yeah. Like
- 31:01Bree said, I still would like to go to those
- 31:04locations. We don't ever get to it in life, and
- 31:08it's like, it's okay. If someone... Was like,
- 31:12hey, I'm going to this place. Come with me for
- 31:16free just for funsies. Yeah, I'd do it. But I
- 31:20ain't gonna pay for these expensive, overrated
- 31:24places. Yeah. Alright, Brie, question 17. Have
- 31:29you ever had a piece of equipment fail at the
- 31:32worst moment? Yeah, and it was right after. I
- 31:37remember one time at MSU Paranormal Society where
- 31:39we all met. in college we were doing a big investigation
- 31:43with like 30 40 people and i was filming it and
- 31:48one of the dumbass freshmen was like oh if there's
- 31:51anyone here feel free to use our energy we have
- 31:56a camera and a camera light and batteries if
- 32:00you need to manifest and i'm like no don't ever
- 32:03say that because this camera is the only thing
- 32:06recording this light That you claim they can
- 32:09use to drain is the only thing lighting the environment.
- 32:12What's going to happen if they actually do drain
- 32:14it? Oh, nothing will. Camera died. Light died
- 32:17right after that. Didn't have any footage from
- 32:20that investigation because the camera died and
- 32:22it didn't save the fucking footage. And then
- 32:24we were in the dark and the dumbass freshman
- 32:27was like, I can't see. Can't see. Someone turn
- 32:30on the light. How can we turn on the light? You
- 32:33told the ghost to use it to manifest, dumbass.
- 32:36And I had a rule from then on. You can say use
- 32:40Ben's energy. Don't invite the ghost to fuck
- 32:46with the cameras. Yeah. Oh, oh, oh. I have a
- 32:53good one. My full -spectrum camera. It records
- 32:57in 10 -minute segments. Like, it doesn't just
- 33:00continuously record. It records in 10 -minute
- 33:03segments. Stupidest thing ever. I don't know
- 33:06why it does that. Can't change it. Whatever.
- 33:10But it's auto. Like, you don't need to manually
- 33:12stop and start. No, you don't need to manually
- 33:13stop and start. It just keeps recording, but
- 33:16there is, like, a cut between each. My very first
- 33:20time actually going out to Paraschini and investigating,
- 33:25I did it by myself. Well, with my friend who
- 33:29had never been paranormal investigating. First
- 33:31time really using my full spectrum camera. We
- 33:35were walking around the cemetery. And I was recording
- 33:39on my camera. So it's like, oh, anything that
- 33:42should happen will be caught. We got growled
- 33:45at in the middle of this cemetery. Nothing around
- 33:49us. And guess what happened? Right in between
- 33:54the cuts. right at the 10 minute mark right at
- 33:59the 10 minute mark and wow yeah so oh man i was
- 34:05so mad wow there's also this weird tech um glitch
- 34:11that happened i didn't mean to but for some reason
- 34:14this episode has been airing in two minute intervals
- 34:18every question has been his own episode oh my
- 34:21god no i'm kidding i'm kidding i know i know
- 34:25you are Okay, speaking of which, we're going
- 34:29to have to turn this into two episodes. So, can
- 34:33we plow ahead to 25 or should we just stop at
- 34:37a 20? Let's plow ahead and try to get to 25.
- 34:41Okay. We gotta speedrun them. Have you ever disagreed
- 34:45with a teammate about whether something was paranormal?
- 34:49That's the whole point of this podcast. I know.
- 34:51Have you ever encountered something that felt
- 34:54paranormal? but looked completely ordinary. I'll
- 34:59be like in a haunted place and I feel like there's
- 35:01something like in the doorway and I'm scared
- 35:02of doorways now because like all the dweller
- 35:04stuff. So sometimes I'll see like an open doorway
- 35:06and just be like scared, like feel creeped out
- 35:09or feel like paranormal because like the PTSD
- 35:12of the couple dweller experiences. So I'll just
- 35:15be like that door should be shut right now. There's
- 35:19nothing like. I can see in the doorway, but it's
- 35:23giving off a weird vibe. Open doorways are weird.
- 35:28Ben has trauma with open doors. I get it. I get
- 35:35it, though. What's the strangest thing that happened
- 35:39while traveling to or from a location rather
- 35:42than at the location itself? It's an easy answer
- 35:47for me. When we were filming at Rosevear Park,
- 35:50For our very first short film many, many, many
- 35:53years ago called Afterlife, the driver slammed
- 35:57on his brakes. And we're all just in the car.
- 36:01There were like four of us crammed in. We're
- 36:03all on our phones. He slammed on his brakes because
- 36:05he saw a person, like a shadow figure, walk right
- 36:09in front of the car. And he thought he was going
- 36:12to hit this shadow figure. And then he realized
- 36:15it was a ghost. And he freaked out. Never seen
- 36:18this guy. Just scared. and he's like oh my god
- 36:21did you guys see that and we're like on our phones
- 36:23we look up see what huh what are you saying and
- 36:26he was like he's like oh my god no more phones
- 36:30while we're driving up to a haunted location
- 36:32did you guys seriously not because you were all
- 36:35glued on your phones you didn't see the fucking
- 36:37shadow figure that i almost hit with my car as
- 36:39we pull up to this haunted location we're like
- 36:41no sorry um yeah sorry Which location would you
- 36:48absolutely not choose or go to? The amount of
- 36:52people I know that have had terrible reactions
- 36:55and their lives got fucked up and changed after
- 36:58they went to, what is it, the Bushy Mountain?
- 37:01Bushy Mountain. Yeah. What does a successful
- 37:04investigation mean to you? I feel like in our
- 37:07group, evidence is the last thing we're trying
- 37:10to collect. We're there for the experience and
- 37:13learning more. That sort of stuff. So a successful
- 37:18investigation, I feel like, comes with having
- 37:23great experiences. Something that is thought
- 37:26-provoking and makes you think about it for days,
- 37:30weeks, months afterwards. And two, kind of changes
- 37:36the way that you think about paranormal. What's
- 37:39something you can't stand when other people do,
- 37:42but you're also guilty of it? I, what, that other
- 37:48people that I also, that I'm guilty of? Yeah,
- 37:51what's something you're like, if you're watching
- 37:54paranormal shows or whatever, you're like, ugh,
- 37:56why you, oh, I do the same thing. Running away
- 37:59from scary situations. Yeah, that's so valid.
- 38:08If you were forced to spend a week alone in any
- 38:12location you've investigated, which one would
- 38:14you choose? The Dirty Hotel. A hotel? Wow, my
- 38:20brain didn't even go there. Okay, I agree. That's
- 38:23a good location. It's cheating. It's definitely
- 38:25a cheater's answer. What's the weirdest object
- 38:28you've ever encountered that someone told you
- 38:31was haunted? Let me guess. Was it the birdcage?
- 38:34It was the birdcage! Yes, the antique birdcage.
- 38:38I think it was a miner's birdcage or something
- 38:40like that. One of the ones that they took down
- 38:43into the mines to tell if there was gas. That's
- 38:48how they did it in the olden days. They took
- 38:50a bird cage down and if the bird died they'd
- 38:54know, oh hey, we need to get out of here. Haunted
- 38:57by birds? Are there birds haunting that? I don't
- 39:01know. I found that on Facebook Marketplace last
- 39:06summer, two summers ago. And, yeah, I think they
- 39:11were just asking way too much money for it, and
- 39:13I'm like, whatever. It looked so cool, though.
- 39:18It did look really cool. It was a cool -looking,
- 39:19like, birdcage. Yeah. There was also a bunch
- 39:22of, around that same time, messages regarding
- 39:25two birds in a birdcage, specifically, and then
- 39:29two crows, and then, like, we went to Madison
- 39:32Seminary. Oh, we found the dead bird. Yeah. Right
- 39:35in the window. So there was, like, this theme
- 39:38of, like, Birds, specifically two birds in a
- 39:41birdcage. Contemporary Angela would handcuff
- 39:45Brianna to the haunted birdcage. Why? I lost
- 39:49Jenga. Why? Yeah, I lost Jenga. Okay, you ready
- 39:54for the last question? What's the funniest situation
- 39:57during a serious investigation? Funniest situation
- 40:06during a serious investigation. oh me getting
- 40:11being locked in the bathtub and having you guys
- 40:14get locked out of the house the state house that
- 40:17was hilarious that was so funny that could have
- 40:21been really bad yeah so everyone go watch beware
- 40:27the haunted bathtubs the short film we just did
- 40:29we handcuffed brie to a bathtub and then we got
- 40:32locked out of the building oh yep It was hilarious.
- 40:38Very hilarious. Obviously, I got out and they
- 40:41got in, but that was so funny. Uh -huh. Unspeakable
- 40:48phenomena. Please tell me you're joking. That
- 40:51is freaky. I haven't on camera. I was filming.
- 40:54Is this girl quite all right? The haunted bathtubs
- 40:58are waiting. Oh, jeez. Is this mean if I just
- 41:13say, like, half of Angela's reactions to shit?
- 41:16Like, when she, when it just goes, she's like,
- 41:18dude. It's just like, looking back, it's just
- 41:25like, oh my god! It's just like, I try hard not
- 41:30to laugh, like, I get it, but. Wait, when do,
- 41:34when do, like, Do that. I know I say dude, but
- 41:37what about the other ones? Remember that one
- 41:40time when the spirit box said suck my cock? And
- 41:45then Angela was like... Also a good example.
- 41:55Well, we couldn't cock -a -doodle finish this
- 41:58episode. In my head, the 50 questions would have
- 42:03been like... 20 minutes or like two hours. So
- 42:07no in between. We definitely are going to two
- 42:10hour route. So we are going to pick this up next
- 42:12episode with the next 25 or final 25. So episode
- 42:1750 .2. Yes. We usually backlog these and like
- 42:24stacks. We actually are like. along for the ride
- 42:27with the listeners. In this case, we're not just
- 42:29stopping and then restarting two seconds later
- 42:32like we sometimes do. We actually will be reconvening
- 42:35in a week to pick up the last 25, so we will
- 42:38have a week to, I don't know, maybe come up with
- 42:41other questions. Yeah, now that we kind of know
- 42:44the rhythm and the cadence of this, we might
- 42:46be able to go through the next 25 faster. Who
- 42:49knows? Or it will be a three -parter. It's possible.
- 42:55So stay tuned for next episode. What? All summer.
- 43:02Episode 50. Yeah, never ending 50. I'm ready.
- 43:13Thanks for listening to this week's episode of

- 43:18every five -star rating and positive review tells

- 43:27and every one of you and we'll see you next Thursday
- 43:29for another paranormal deep dive.
