- 0:00A respected Danish analyst calls for $3000 gold.
- 0:05And what about Zimbabwe? Have you heard the big news?
- 0:09The country of Zimbabwe is going to the gold standard and I
- 0:14thought, who better to talk to than someone who was born and
- 0:18raised in Zab Zimbabwe Coin Shop.
- 0:22Chris, welcome to Ron's Basement.
- 0:25I was born in Zimbabwe. Now that's a long way for
- 0:28Massachusetts, I guess, huh? What are you talking about,
- 0:31Chris? You.
- 0:32Said I was born in Zimbabwe. What all those stories you tell
- 0:36me about growing up in Zimbabwe Oh, here?
- 0:39We go, we thought this week off real good.
- 0:42Well, what's going? On there, Ronnie.
- 0:45You mean it's all you mean it? You mean it's all been nothing
- 0:49but a big pack of lies, Chris? That's right.
- 0:52That's not all breath. So, all right, thank you for
- 0:55being here. Let's talk about Zimbabwe
- 0:57though, because they are talking about and making moves to back
- 1:02their currency with gold because they've had runaway inflation,
- 1:08they don't want to use the US dollar.
- 1:10They have decided to back their currency with gold.
- 1:13With any thoughts on that, Chris?
- 1:14I find it very fascinating. Ron I think I think Lynette Zane
- 1:18just put a video out too about that and they say it's not going
- 1:21to work. Do you do you know they're using
- 1:26their currency and they but they don't even trust their own
- 1:29currency still even though it's backed by gold.
- 1:33So no I I don't think I the bomb boy if in one of the country's
- 1:36been of nothing but a prom burger in my book.
- 1:40I I don't know what's going to say to them there.
- 1:43I really don't. Well, I think they I.
- 1:46Think you're wrong. I think you're wrong.
- 1:49OK, tell me why. Well, because they said they're
- 1:55going to back their currency with gold and that it's going to
- 1:58be very transparent. It's going to be, it's going to
- 2:01be audited, it's going to be, you know, everything's that.
- 2:05You'll know that if you if you have one of their units of
- 2:09currency that it's backed by, according to them, a verifiable
- 2:14amount of gold. Well, we will see if it works,
- 2:18but I I believe there's a video out there with Lynette Zane and
- 2:22she just touched on that and she said it's not, you know, they're
- 2:24having problems already with it. Well, I don't think they've
- 2:27actually started it yet. I don't agree with.
- 2:31I don't agree with Lynette Zane. I love Lynette Zane, but that
- 2:34doesn't mean I always have to agree with her.
- 2:35I don't agree with you or Lynette Zane, but who do I agree
- 2:38with? Oh my God, here we go again.
- 2:41Nobody likes me. Well, let's move on to the net
- 2:43subject. Let's see if we can find
- 2:45something. We do agree on.
- 2:46Coin Shop. Chris, how about you tell us
- 2:48about what's going on at the coin Shop?
- 2:51Right, you've got the pulse. Now we have a viewer here.
- 2:54We have a basement dweller joining us right now.
- 2:57What are you What are you seeing in the Coin Shop?
- 3:01Ron, this week's been a very tough week.
- 3:05People are coming in. You're not selling a horrible
- 3:09lot, Ron, but they're selling little by little by little.
- 3:13And you know we, I'm seeing grown people, grown guys, grown
- 3:18women just crying. They have to sell this server.
- 3:21It's mostly server they're selling right now that I'm
- 3:24seeing and just to put food on the table on just to put food on
- 3:30the table. I I I had a guy come in probably
- 3:34about 8085, you know, will he hold on to server most of his
- 3:39life? He said.
- 3:39And he says this first time he ever had to sell anything.
- 3:43He's got no cash in the bank and he sold about 15 ounces to us
- 3:48and he was just almost in tears. So you're telling me you're
- 3:52seeing people get very emotional over the fact that they have to
- 3:56sell some of their precious metals just to make ends meet?
- 3:59Sounds like just to make ends meet, to pay light bills, to put
- 4:02food on the table. Yeah, it's getting very tough
- 4:06out there and I don't think a lot of people realize what the
- 4:09heck that's going to what's coming, you know, and that's why
- 4:13I'm trying to warn everybody if you can stack some cash right
- 4:17now, stack some cash. We were all going to need cash
- 4:20for the first part of this. Then I think we're going to be
- 4:23into Sarah Burngold. But you know, cash is getting
- 4:27worthless wrong. I mean, no, we we can start spin
- 4:30back to 1964. I was pissed up just yesterday.
- 4:33Run for your viewers here, you know, but silver quarter, you
- 4:37could buy a loaf of bread for 21 cents.
- 4:41Well, today that silver quarter silver value is $4.16, maybe a
- 4:47little bit more because we're over 23 now in an ounce.
- 4:51But you can still buy a loaf of bread with that same silver
- 4:53quarter that you could get back in 1964 and get changed back.
- 4:59You know, yeah, you would have to go to a physical coin shop
- 5:02and convert it back into Fiat, but really you can take that
- 5:05$4.16 and still get a loaf of bread and get change back.
- 5:09Yeah, yeah. Well, you've proven beyond any
- 5:13any reasonable doubt that silver keeps up with the price of
- 5:18inflation or the rate of inflation.
- 5:20Are you serious? You really didn't grow up in
- 5:22Zimbabwe? No, I never did, Sir.
- 5:25Wow. Hey, let's talk about something
- 5:28exciting with silver and gold last week.
- 5:32All right, Let's just let's just let's let's just you and I right
- 5:35now. I mean this has been a hard year
- 5:37to be invested in silver and gold and the precious metal
- 5:40mining stocks. Would you agree with that,
- 5:42Chris? Yes.
- 5:44And I will also say this is a converting opportunity.
- 5:47Now. You know, Ron, let's back up to
- 5:501929. You know, most people were not
- 5:52alive in 1929. Maybe you were 'cause I'm seeing
- 5:56a little bit of Gray hair in that hair of yours.
- 5:59But anyways, to be all honest with you, you know the precious
- 6:04mining stocks did very, very well in 1929.
- 6:09And this is a time that nobody's looking at.
- 6:11Everybody's looking at these tech stocks, the big bubble
- 6:14stocks, while some of this money.
- 6:17Look, Jeff Bezos just sold $2 billion worth of Amazon stock.
- 6:21What does he know? What does Mark Zuckerberg from
- 6:25Facebook know? He throw stocks?
- 6:27Why are all these big tech companies, CE OS or ex CE OS
- 6:31selling their stocks? Yeah, why?
- 6:33Yeah, why they must. Know it's.
- 6:37Going to be the it's going to be part of your viewers, Ron, that
- 6:41have you know maybe OK income very little working company.
- 6:44They're going to be left holding the bags Ron and these people
- 6:47are going to get richer and richer then that money then that
- 6:50money will go into the mining stocks.
- 6:53It's, you know when I don't know.
- 6:56Well, that's the good news according to Coin Shop.
- 6:58Chris, thank you for that. And I heard Peter Carref and was
- 7:03talking with Andrew McGuire earlier today that show live
- 7:07from the vault and they said something that really resonated
- 7:10with me about silver. They said when Silver hits 50 or
- 7:14Silver hits $100 per oz, your people are going to be kicking
- 7:19themselves that they didn't buy more now.
- 7:21But let me get back to my original train of thought that I
- 7:24wanted to to reiterate with you the good news, Chris, do you
- 7:27want some good news for Silver and?
- 7:29Gold price. Are you ready for some good
- 7:31news? OK, absolutely.
- 7:33So this year's been tough for precious metals investors and I
- 7:38appreciate what you talked about with the depression and the in
- 7:41the stocks that's a key thing for people that are invested in
- 7:44precious metal mining stocks to know.
- 7:45However, this year you know we got, we got this great GDP
- 7:49number, great jobs number, which we all know was a bunch of mucky
- 7:53and we also got the Fed that came out this year so far and
- 7:57was very hawkish. So it's been a very difficult
- 8:00environment, a little bit of a stormy seas for gold and silver.
- 8:05Those were were factors that would push down the price of of
- 8:10silver and gold. And then the just this past week
- 8:14we got high inflation numbers, inflation running hotter than
- 8:18expected, which also should have pushed down silver and gold.
- 8:24But you want the good news, Chris, It did right?
- 8:28It didn't. It didn't high in the high
- 8:30inflate on Friday. Gold and silver were up, right,
- 8:33And we got this big high PPI number.
- 8:36I'm telling you, we we in December, we had a major switch
- 8:41in the in the in the tide or in the winds, right?
- 8:44That headwind that was pushing against silver and gold had
- 8:47subsided. I won't say we had a tailwind
- 8:50yet. However, in the face of what
- 8:53should have been a lot of headwinds this year, darn it,
- 8:57silver and gold have been strong and I truly believe in my heart
- 9:01they've changed the corner. I think that we're going to have
- 9:05$3000 gold and I think that that $3000 gold when we get to a
- 9:09reasonable silver to gold ratio of about 60 to one is going to
- 9:14make us have our $50 silver. Well, Ryan, you know, you had
- 9:19any interview weight the great Annie Shekman the other day.
- 9:23And you guys did a modest job. And you know, I've said this
- 9:27before. If he said this before, we're in
- 9:29the eye of the hurricane now. Well, people forgot what
- 9:32happened last much when Silver Eagles were $5055 an ounce.
- 9:40We've been in that high eye of a hurricane.
- 9:42When is that? Second, how much longer we're
- 9:45going to be in his eye while we got the reverse repo coming up
- 9:48match 11th drawn. You know I just bought a roll
- 9:53and I won't say what company was from 2 ounce Kangaroos.
- 9:59I'm from Australia. There I got them for five O 8 at
- 10:02roll. The 20 ounces are on.
- 10:04I looked today, silver was up. It jumped to 534.
- 10:10I'm glad I got them. When I did I didn't really have
- 10:12the cash for it but I pulled the plug.
- 10:14I said this is the deal. This time you we got to take
- 10:18advantage of these dips and people can call me a silver pump
- 10:21all they want. That's fine.
- 10:22They can call me any of your name in the book.
- 10:23That's fine until we're on. I I am AI, am a, my name's Ron
- 10:28and I'm a silver pumper. Hey, I want to real quickly
- 10:31thank our sponsors mining company, sponsors first mining
- 10:34gold. You can learn more about that
- 10:36company at firstmininggold.com. They have 13 million ounces of
- 10:40gold tucked away nicely in the ground in Canada, a very
- 10:44favorable jurisdiction. Fortuna Silver is actually more
- 10:49of a gold mining company now. They have a gold mine in
- 10:53Argentina, Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast, and they have
- 10:58silver mines in Mexico and Peru. You can learn more about Fortuna
- 11:03silver@fortunasilver.com. Absolutely.
- 11:10So where are we going next, Ron? Let's talk about and we got, I
- 11:15want to talk about $3000 gold and $60.00 silver one more time
- 11:20before we're done. But you did some comparison
- 11:22shopping this week, didn't you, Chris, We always can rely on you
- 11:26to be out there shopping around looking at the deals.
- 11:29What did you what did you go looking for this week?
- 11:33Well Ron, you know I, I you know we tried to mix things up on in
- 11:36the basement and you know you're I gotta give a shout to your
- 11:40sponsor pin backs. Once again pin backs wins of the
- 11:43game. This week we compared 10 oz
- 11:47Royal Canadian Mint bars at Max was $311.30.
- 11:54Now this is a CHACH for all these companies that we're
- 11:59comparing apples to apples. And at the same time on the same
- 12:03day, right? That is correct, Sir.
- 12:07JM Bowling was $287.00 for that same 10 oz bar a little cheaper.
- 12:12BGASC was 279 money metals. I was kind of shocked at their
- 12:18prices. It didn't only one of the
- 12:19highest ones out there on, but they wouldn't.
- 12:21They were comparable at 27890. FD Bowling came in at 27583 and
- 12:29pin backs wins it out again. Ron for two 7193.
- 12:33So you take at Max price and you take pin backs price, you divide
- 12:38those, you minus that price you're going to be saving $39.37
- 12:42Ron. Wow, so you get a you not only
- 12:45get a 10 oz Royal Canadian Mint bar, which by the way, I love.
- 12:49I was infatuated with them about six years ago.
- 12:52They are really nice and they are 4 nines.
- 12:55But not only if you decide to get your exact same 10 oz Royal
- 13:01Canadian Mint bar from pin backs, Not only do you get that
- 13:06same bar, but on top of that you can get yourself at least one
- 13:11more ounce of silver. Probably a vast selection
- 13:15because you're saving. I think you said $39.00.
- 13:18Is that? Right, $39.00, you know, I mean
- 13:20I believe you can get a, you know, we we talked about the
- 13:22kookaburras about a week ago. So wrong the 2024 Kookaburras.
- 13:26I believe you can still get one and still have money left and
- 13:29maybe you can get a cheeseburger from from Mickey D's or
- 13:32something. I mean really, I mean why?
- 13:35Why would we want to shop anywhere else when we comparing
- 13:39places like this. I've always urged your viewers,
- 13:42Ron to shop around shop at your look at your coin shop look at
- 13:46the online. It takes only a few minutes to
- 13:49look around and really you you know, time after time, week
- 13:54after week, you know pin backs is one of the best places out
- 13:57out there on and. Chris, Chris.
- 13:59Thank. You, Mike.
- 14:00Thank you, Brian. Yes.
- 14:02Chris, Chris, And you know, it's not just the prices that are the
- 14:07best. They've got great selection and
- 14:10service and it's a company that you can trust.
- 14:15But I agree with you. I encourage people.
- 14:18You need to discover it for yourself.
- 14:20Throw them into the mix next time you're out there shopping
- 14:23for online bullying. Absolutely.
- 14:26I just want to thank Mike and Brian again.
- 14:28You know, they they're outstanding.
- 14:30They are. They're good, good, good people.
- 14:33And why not get more metal for your money?
- 14:38I think Pembeks is best and you will too.
- 14:41They check all the boxes. Do you like how I do that?
- 14:44Where I make the check by the box behind me?
- 14:46Where it says Pembeks Chris. I'm sure your viewers love that,
- 14:49Ron. All right, So Ole, Ole are.
- 14:55So you're telling me you weren't born in Zimbabwe, were you?
- 14:58Did you grow up in Denmark Coin Shop, Chris?
- 15:01No. New Hampshire.
- 15:04New Hampshire. Yes, New Hampshire, Maine and
- 15:06Massachusetts. Oh wow.
- 15:08You did the whole Northeast tour.
- 15:11Well, anyway, if you had grown up in Denmark, you would have
- 15:13known of a guy named Ole Hanson. He's a famous Danish, I guess
- 15:20you would say, respected commodity strategist with that
- 15:24massive Danish bank Saxo Bank. He's continually calling for
- 15:29$3000 gold. Reiterate this to all the silver
- 15:36investors out there as well. We love gold, right?
- 15:38We'll take $3000 gold, right, Chris, that's great.
- 15:42What do you think happens to silver when gold goes to Chris?
- 15:46What do you think? Right.
- 15:47If you're a little Danish boy and and gold goes to $3000, what
- 15:51do you think happens to silver? Well, we're seeing that $2000
- 15:55now a little over 2000. We've seen that like 20-3.
- 16:00You know, who knows Ron, but you know I I really could see 60
- 16:04plus silver, I mean maybe even more.
- 16:07I mean we need to get this conversion rate down first.
- 16:12I mean silver comes out of ground seven to one and we're
- 16:14seeing you know silver suppressed go suppress Ron.
- 16:18I mean, the Comex are a bunch of clown crooks.
- 16:22The LBMA is bunch of clown crooks.
- 16:26You know, China's probably doing something right for us, you
- 16:29know? You know, why is Shanghai $3
- 16:33more for silver than the rest of the world?
- 16:36Why? Because they actually trade
- 16:39physical metal. Go figure.
- 16:42Right, Yeah, right. And we trade a bunch of useless
- 16:46paper. Unicorn fart dust silver.
- 16:50Make believe, right? Yeah, there's only 42.
- 16:53Well, that was last Friday, but as of last Friday, there were
- 16:5640, only 42,000,000 ounces of silver in the Comex registered
- 17:00inventory. You could buy that for less than
- 17:03a billion dollars. It would take less than 1
- 17:06billion U.S. dollars to completely drain all the
- 17:09inventory at the Comex. Chris, did you have a billion?
- 17:14That's a drop in a bucket for the federal government run,
- 17:16right? Yeah, they spend that.
- 17:18They probably have spent that during the time that you and I
- 17:21were were here recording this video.
- 17:24And by the way, think I, you know, Chris, you know, you may
- 17:27not have have realized this, but I I think it's important that we
- 17:31thank the person joining us today, the viewer, the basement
- 17:34Dweller. We appreciate you being here.
- 17:37We want you to come back. Subscribing is absolutely free.
- 17:42We're still having the New Year special on that one.
- 17:45So press that subscribe button. We put out new content every
- 17:49day. It's always about silver, gold
- 17:52and always, always a lot of fun and entertaining.
- 17:57And leave us a comment, please. We like to know what everybody
- 18:00is thinking. Yeah, I'll give coach give coin
- 18:03shop if you want to donate a little a little extra couple
- 18:06dollars to Coin Shop. Chris.
- 18:07Don't forget he does this from the kindness of his heart.
- 18:10I'll put a link to his PayPal in the description of this video
- 18:16one up that one. Chris, is there anything you can
- 18:18can you up that one? No, Ron, I'm, I'm not going to
- 18:22put your, I'm not going to put your link in there, that's for
- 18:24sure. Well, now that we begged for
- 18:28money and subscribers, how about we give some people some value?
- 18:32Everyone is on the edge of their seat.
- 18:34It's the moment you've been waiting for.
- 18:37It's the coin shop, Chris. 30 day numbers. 30 day numbers or
- 18:42the you know the numbers were not too bad.
- 18:44Just past 30 days Ron Silver would stop $0.38 or up 1.5%.
- 18:52Gold was down actually $6.10 an ounce or down 0.30% platinum.
- 18:59Come roaring back long. Remember we were down like $65
- 19:02last week, but you know it made a comeback on we're up $9.10 or
- 19:09up 1.01% oil. I've been hopping on the oil on
- 19:13for it since around Christmas time, if not before.
- 19:16Oil is up $6.79 a barrel or up 9.38% and they want to say
- 19:24inflation's only at what, what, 3.2 percent?
- 19:283.8%? I call a bunch of hogwash on the
- 19:32Fed. You know you might have a
- 19:35screwdriver for Jerome Powell. He might have that screwdriver
- 19:38as a tool on, but he's got not. He's got no screws to use it
- 19:42with. Chris, we almost forgot.
- 19:45We almost thank you for the 30 day numbers.
- 19:47We almost forgot what you you. What you just brought up is the
- 19:50most fertile soil in the history of the universe or the silver
- 19:56price and the gold price. I just want to throw in, imagine
- 19:59if in a month from now we're we're talking on the 30 day
- 20:02numbers and you're saying, I mean oil went up 10%, why can't
- 20:06gold go up 10%, why can't silver go up 20%?
- 20:10But that's not what I want to share with you, Chris.
- 20:12What I want to talk about briefly is stagflation because
- 20:16that's what you just described. You just talked about oil right,
- 20:20being up almost 10% over the last 30 days, right?
- 20:24In an economy? That's slowing because we got
- 20:27bad retail sales numbers last week.
- 20:29We got bad industrial production numbers last week.
- 20:32We even got bad housing numbers last week.
- 20:37But we also got high inflation numbers and we got the coin
- 20:42shop, Chris, 30 day numbers telling us that oil right is up,
- 20:46showing more. So we've got inflation with a
- 20:49slowing economy. What does that equal, Chris?
- 20:54Big crumbs on big crumbs. The big crumbs.
- 20:58No big problems. Oh, big problems.
- 21:01Yes, stagflation. Stagflation.
- 21:05That's a stagnant economy, slowing economy with inflation.
- 21:08It. They even said it on CNBCI heard
- 21:11him say it, I don't know, Thursday or Friday morning.
- 21:13And then I saw Yahoo Finance. I turn it on for a few minutes
- 21:17in the morning when I was waiting to hear what the numbers
- 21:20were. Yeah, no, I mean, it's
- 21:22stagflation. Stagflation is what drove silver
- 21:25from $1.50 all the way to $50.00 in 1980.
- 21:30And on top of that, everything now is in much worse shape than
- 21:35it was in the 70s. I'm telling you, 10 years from
- 21:38now we're going to be to sit down here and we're going to be
- 21:41talking about silver. It it numbers that we can't even
- 21:44imagine. You know it.
- 21:46It's Gary Ron. You, you know and you know, and
- 21:51just go back to what we talked about the at the beginning, Ron.
- 21:55You know, I see, you know, it's there's a lot of hardship and I
- 21:59even have trouble looking, you know, talking about this because
- 22:03people's faces are so like blue down the dumps and you know it's
- 22:08going to get more and more trouble out there.
- 22:10And it's sad. It's sad people have to use
- 22:15their real money to put food on the table.
- 22:18It really is. It is, yeah.
- 22:21All joking aside, I was going to say you have Smurfs coming in to
- 22:24see you at the coin shop, but that's well I said it.
- 22:27But on a serious note, it is sad.
- 22:29That you know and Andy made a good point is people got into
- 22:33silver and gold for the wrong reasons.
- 22:35Thinking silver and gold you're going to get rich and then get
- 22:39wealthy. War like.
- 22:40He made a brilliant point. He said it is wealth and that is
- 22:43he's 110% right. I clearly agree with him more.
- 22:48Do you, You know, he's just right, you know?
- 22:51This, this. And you gave me this, this one
- 22:55ounce silver round, right? Right.
- 23:00All the energy that went into producing this is still in it,
- 23:04right? I mean, it's a value battery.
- 23:06All the energy that went into that is still in it.
- 23:09Whether that energy, this silver that I'm holding here could have
- 23:13been mined 800 years ago doesn't matter.
- 23:16All that energy is still being held within this.
- 23:20It is wealth. It's the opposite of debt,
- 23:23right? If I hold this, I hold value.
- 23:26I hold something that I can use in the future and feel
- 23:31confident, whether the future means a day from now, a year
- 23:35from now, 10 years from now, or or 100 years from now, that it's
- 23:41gonna have its value right? You know, Andy's face really lit
- 23:46up. I, I, I sense and I didn't
- 23:48confirm this with him, but I said something that I think
- 23:51really resonated with him. And and I said and you and I
- 23:54have talked about this. I said, you know I always tell
- 23:56people only use the money to buy silver that you think you're
- 24:01never going to need again. What I look at it as
- 24:04generational wealth. And when I said that term,
- 24:06generational wealth, you know something that I envision
- 24:11children, grandchildren, you know who knows how long
- 24:14hopefully a long time having it and and and it and it helping to
- 24:19continue right to provide safety and security.
- 24:24And I and I and I will need to make this one point on 2 on
- 24:27there. You know, first I'd like to say
- 24:29silver, the gold ratio this week was 86.20.
- 24:34So it's come down a little bit, but you know, you only convert,
- 24:39you know, like you said, Ron, what you can afford to do.
- 24:41And you know, I got this, we got this young girl that comes in,
- 24:45she's a waitress, She works in one of the high end restaurant
- 24:48with the wealthy people, Ron. And she says business is
- 24:51slowing. Even the wealthy are not out
- 24:54there spending on, they're saving.
- 24:59And she's still coming in when she can maybe maybe one or two
- 25:02days less a week, but she's still coming in and converts to
- 25:071 ounce of silver and her dad's been on her butt.
- 25:11Pay yourself first. So if that means if that means
- 25:15you're going to cut out your Starbucks, if that means you're
- 25:17going to cut out going out to eat.
- 25:19If that means you're going to cut out a service on your cable
- 25:22bill, HBO. Do it, people.
- 25:25Because you know that that extra $1215.00 a month you're paying
- 25:30for these extra services might just save your life.
- 25:33Really. And I'll gain that extra server
- 25:36in the house now. Coin Shop, Chris, thank you,
- 25:40thank you, thank you on behalf of myself and our all important
- 25:45viewer, thank you thank you. I think what we determined was
- 25:48this, like we all doesn't matter how old we are, we all are faced
- 25:52with this predicament in life, right.
- 25:54We're living. We can, we can, we can hold on
- 25:57to cash, right. We can actually spend more money
- 26:01than we make. We can acquire debt.
- 26:04Or the third choice is this silver, right?
- 26:08And we know this is wealth like you so eloquently said, Coin
- 26:13Shop. Chris, thank you for joining us.
- 26:15Thank you for all your time and information and we really hope
- 26:19that we'll see you again next week.

- 26:24joyful and with bells on, but I'll be here.
- 26:29I'm still waiting to see you joyful and with bells on.
