- 0:00Salaam Alaikum Al Ahmad Allah and welcome back to the late
- 0:03night buzz. The aftermath of podcast where
- 0:05we have weekly conversations and this week is no different except
- 0:08that it is the beginning of the blessed month of Shaban where we
- 0:12celebrate and remember the heroes of Karbala Imam and
- 0:14Hussain, Ali Salaam, Abel Faval, Al Abbas, Ali Salaam and Imam
- 0:19Sajad Zain. Abidin Ali Abdul Salati was
- 0:21Salaam. Now before we embrace and, you
- 0:24know, get excited about being now in the first week of Shaban,
- 0:28I would like to, as always, like we do every week, welcome my
- 0:31amazing, energetic Hosseini, Abbasi and Sajadico.
- 0:48I think that's the biggest honour anyone's ever.
- 0:51Anyone's. Ever.
- 0:53Karbalay, Karbalay as well as well.
- 0:57As well as well, it depends who's saying it, because
- 0:58sometimes if you're like Karbalay.
- 1:00Yeah. So that's an honour.
- 1:03How? You do it, Abdullah.
- 1:05It's a blessed time and congratulations to everyone at
- 1:07home as well. This is a monumental occasion
- 1:11for us all. But more importantly, and I
- 1:13think first and foremost, we should congratulate the amount
- 1:15of our time of Sahab Alasar or Zaman on.
- 1:20Do you know the the occasions that precede his birth
- 1:24anniversary? Of course, inshaallah next
- 1:25weekend is Imam Zaman's wiladed 15th Shaban insha'allah.
- 1:31So we are preparing for shahadah Mullah.
- 1:33You know what's nice is every year it, it feels like a last
- 1:37panel to Isla puts these events chronologically in such a way
- 1:42where we are ready for the holy month.
- 1:45And I don't think there's any coincidence that the third, the
- 1:484th and the 5th called in such a way.
- 1:51We have the father, the brother and the son.
- 1:53Allah, Subhan, Allah, Allah. So inshallah we can be amongst
- 1:56them in the Akram. We can live our lives in the
- 1:58Dunya to be whether you've been called their followers.
- 2:00Inshallah, inshallah, inshallah. And today's episode.
- 2:03We do have a guest joining us. We.
- 2:05Do indeed. We do indeed.
- 2:06Our first female guest on season three.
- 2:11So we're very honoured. I think it's been once in the
- 2:14work we finally managed to put it together.
- 2:16Sister Sarah is with some article Sister.
- 2:17Michael, Sam, thank you very much for having me.
- 2:19Honestly, it's truly an. Honor here feels like we've been
- 2:22trying to make the supper for a long time.
- 2:23Seriously. Yes, and I feel very bad for you
- 2:26and your family because you've driven down from Manchester a
- 2:30long drive and now it's late night.
- 2:32No worries. Anything with the other, but
- 2:33it's always at their service and Mailer reward us and everyone
- 2:37who's watching this and may we always serve the Albert just
- 2:41like this inshallah. Inshallah.
- 2:43So I know we've been talking a lot about the the right way I
- 2:47think to introduce the podcast. But before we get into the
- 2:50discussion, you may or may not know we we tend to do this, this
- 2:55kind of, what do you call it like a practice or like we we
- 3:00put you on the spot because a lot of guests won't know you.
- 3:02Yeah, and some will and some won't.
- 3:04But we want to see sister Cyrus V from a different angle of what
- 3:08we're going to see for the rest of the conversation.
- 3:10So at this juncture, I'm going to hand over to Seh Ali.
- 3:13OK, I'll go easy inshallah, and I'll begin here and I and I
- 3:16think it's something that you can resonate with.
- 3:17And inshallah, we'll all be inspired by.
- 3:20And the question is, sister, I want you to imagine you are in
- 3:25the presence of the daughter of Rasulullah Muhammad Sallallahu,
- 3:32and you have one night to spend with her and one night to have a
- 3:37conversation with her. What would you do with Lady
- 3:41Fatima the Zahra and what would you talk about should you have
- 3:44this opportunity? OK, just thinking about that is
- 3:47giving me goosebumps and leaving me emotional.
- 3:51But first of I'm going to thank her for everything she's done
- 3:55for us. And I'm going to obviously if I
- 3:59do have the opportunity, I'm going to hug her.
- 4:01And whenever she's done all the sacrifices she's she's made just
- 4:06generally for Islam itself and the empowerment of women.
- 4:13She's told us that woman, you know, has a huge role in Islam
- 4:19and she's got the ability to do anything she can in her, you
- 4:24know, power. And second thing, I'm just going
- 4:27to sit with her personally. I love reciting the Quran and
- 4:30you know, discussing the Quran. So as it was her hobby.
- 4:34So I would like to do things that she loves instead of just
- 4:37putting something in front of her that I like.
- 4:40I'm going to put everything aside and I'm just going to be
- 4:42like, let's do something that you love.
- 4:45And I'm always at your service. And I'm going to tell her and
- 4:47remind her that I'm always there for her.
- 4:49And in shall I just, you know, go through the Quran and have a
- 4:52discussion with her. I think that's the main thing.
- 4:55And I'm going to ask her to pray for me all the time.
- 4:59I think that's the main thing. What is?
- 5:02What is the? What is your?
- 5:05So obviously, say the Fatima has so many qualities about her
- 5:10which we can't we can't comprehend, we can't express, we
- 5:14can't articulate. But if there was one quality
- 5:18about Sailafad Zahra which really touches you, really
- 5:23inspires you, what is it? It's it's her being a a arbiter
- 5:29and you know she it's one of her attributes and she's the mother
- 5:34of Imams. She is the wife of an imam and
- 5:40she was known for the upbringing of her children in a very
- 5:44merciful and divine way. And we we get a story for from
- 5:50that. The one time Imam Hassan and
- 5:53Hussain made a painting and this shows how a woman should do the
- 5:57upbringing of their children. So they both come up to their
- 6:01mother and they say mother Fatima, oh, mother, tell us who
- 6:05made a bear painting. Is it me, Hussein or is it my
- 6:08brother Hassan? Then she hesitates for a moment
- 6:12and she says, I will not be able to answer that.
- 6:15And you, I think you should go to your father, Ali.
- 6:18So Hassanain, go to, you know, the father.
- 6:23And they say, oh father, we made a painting and who do you think
- 6:26is the best? And then Imam Ali hesitates.
- 6:30And then he says, I can't decide that I think you should go to
- 6:33your grandfather for Mama, then ask him and then they both go,
- 6:38And this shows the power of woman as well.
- 6:41In this story I'll you know address that at the end they
- 6:46both go to Prophet Muhammad Visi upon him and then they ask him
- 6:49and then he says very beautifully He says I cannot
- 6:53decide when Fatima is right there.
- 6:55So if Fatima is there to decide, who am I to decide and then go
- 6:59back to your mother and ask her who who made the best painting.
- 7:04And in the Rewire we see in many stories we see that whenever
- 7:08there was a a companion of Prophet Muhammad who used to
- 7:11come up to him or Imam Ali and they used to address a problem,
- 7:15they never answered it themselves immediately.
- 7:17They used to go confirm with ladies Zara Slam and Aliha.
- 7:20This shows her aim as well, her intellect which I'm going to
- 7:24refer back to. So they go back to their mother
- 7:29and they say none of them answered the question and they
- 7:32sent, they both sent us to you. So she was wearing a beautiful
- 7:35Pearl necklace and she breaks it and then she puts all the beads
- 7:38on the floor and she says whoever collects most of it, I
- 7:43love their painting. So obviously this was these were
- 7:46the actions of Al Aswan Otala. They both start collecting the
- 7:50beads and Al Hamdullah, both of them were equal.
- 7:54So Hassanain collect both of them equally.
- 7:56So then she says something, She says, just like in the eyes of
- 7:59Al Aswan Otala, you both are equal.
- 8:01Just like for me, in the eyes of Fatima, you both are equal.
- 8:05So I can never choose between Hassan and Hussein.
- 8:08This is a message for the mothers that you should never
- 8:10compare your children. If they do come up to you, just,
- 8:14you know, love them equally. No favouritism.
- 8:16And this shows a message. It tells us that just like in
- 8:19the eyes of Allah Swan Otala, because then in Surah Najam 3 to
- 8:244 we have our the he says whatever Allah says that I'll
- 8:31bet on him, Aslam say. So if she said that no, like in
- 8:34my eyes, you both are equal, that's all that's saying that.
- 8:38So that's basically a message towards the society and to the
- 8:40whole community, the whole world.
- 8:42The Hassan Hussain should be equal in the eyes of the world.
- 8:45So we there's no favoritism in that.
- 8:47And their, you know, their power and their status should be equal
- 8:52in the eyes. So the.
- 8:53Comparison is the enemy of joy. My.
- 8:56Famous saying and of course and and it just goes to show that
- 8:59there's the the the love that Santa Fatima Zara had for the
- 9:03holy imams is is exemplary in how we should act as parents for
- 9:08those of us who have children. Or inshallah, if you don't
- 9:10inshallah mail up, grant you children, even if we don't have
- 9:13children, But even when we look at our parents, for us to
- 9:15remember that our parents love us equally.
- 9:17And I grew up growing up, you know, Did you, were you the same
- 9:19saying used to debate with your siblings or mum?
- 9:23Mum loves me more, Dad loves me more.
- 9:25I was definitely one of those kids I used to claim to be the
- 9:28favorite my parents. I don't want to go too long, but
- 9:30I'll share something since you mentioned this.
- 9:31Yeah. When my father passed away a
- 9:34little a few years afterwards, we finally like sort of asked
- 9:39each other, So who was that's favorite?
- 9:40Like for example, everyone gave me an example, everyone said no,
- 9:43I was that's favorite. I was that's favorite.
- 9:44I was like and then you know, we realised subhanallah, he made us
- 9:47all feel like his favorite. So it was like we never
- 9:50actually, how can I say it felt like?
- 9:53Secretary neglected, yeah. We were always like first and
- 9:57like, how can I say it, like he made us feel like we were the
- 10:00centre of attention when he was with us.
- 10:02A Father's each and every single son A.
- 10:04Mother's love and a father's love, they're both delicate and
- 10:07and and precious in their own ways.
- 10:09And I think we we, we all, we learned that as we grow old and
- 10:13as we become parents as. Yeah, it's touching, isn't it?
- 10:16OK. I mean, like, there's a lot to
- 10:18talk about. We can.
- 10:18Spend all. Podcasts Just talking about
- 10:20being Fatima Slava later, I'm. Sure.
- 10:22We'll talk about Podcast 5050. Yeah, minimum.
- 10:25Honestly. Honestly.
- 10:27But look, let's let's kind of get into this conversation.
- 10:29So maybe a good place to start is on these holy occasions.
- 10:33So this weekend's so well these days and obviously next weekend
- 10:37we're approaching the Willard of Mahdi to Alafred Sharif in
- 10:44preparation. Now we're only a few weeks away
- 10:46from Shahadah Mulan. What should be going through our
- 10:49minds at this point in time? Personally, you know, like
- 10:55everyone has their own connection with the other bed
- 10:58with with a certain person. I've got a connection with Imam
- 11:01Asima and Arjuna Tarafir Sheriff personally.
- 11:03So like, I'm not going to make this up, but the first thing
- 11:06that comes to my mind was from, you know, since I came into this
- 11:11field, is when am I going to make his birthday, celebrate his
- 11:15birthday with him. Even though he is alive, he's
- 11:18amongst us. It's our sins that are
- 11:20preventing us from recognizing him and, you know, seeing him.
- 11:24So when is that day going to come?
- 11:25When we celebrate the birthday with him, right.
- 11:28So that's the first thing that comes up to, you know, my mind.
- 11:31And the second thing that comes up is even if he's not there,
- 11:34this birthday is a reminder to everyone that this imam was
- 11:39born. This imam is still fighting for
- 11:42us in his own way, in his own ways, and we don't know that.
- 11:46And he prays for us and he cries for us.
- 11:50And in the rewire it says that every Monday and Thursday our
- 11:55deed letter goes to Imam Zamanna Jalal for Sharif.
- 11:58And just to wash away one sin, he has to use his blood tears
- 12:03just to wash away one sin. So that shows how ignorant we
- 12:07are. And that is where seeking
- 12:09knowledge comes in. So if we say Allah Joel, if we
- 12:13say, you know O Imam, we're ready for you.
- 12:16But then in our actions we don't show it and that's hypocrisy and
- 12:20there's there's no point. It's just like the people of
- 12:22Gufa who did that the weight of Imam was saying, but when he
- 12:25came, they all, you know, just didn't look at him.
- 12:28They changed their wordings and everything and actions, yeah,
- 12:33that should be our first goal is to please Imam is Imam and stop
- 12:37sinning and praying that our hearts, the hearts that have
- 12:41hardened you know, become soft and we realise what what is it
- 12:45that we're doing wrong in this world in order to recognise Imam
- 12:49of our time. Beautiful, I love.
- 12:50I love how you started with Imam as Zaman.
- 12:52I'd love to have a Sharif because it's a reminder to us
- 12:54that he firstly, he is our Imam. He's alive and he's living and
- 12:58he's like, you know, he he wants the best for us.
- 13:01He wants the best not just for a Shia but for everyone who
- 13:03believes in a lost panel. And it reminds me of a previous
- 13:08conversation we had once with Sister Howrah.
- 13:10Yeah, I thought I should remember back in season one
- 13:12where she mentioned a very similar point where like you
- 13:14have to hold yourself to accounts.
- 13:16And she did recommend something that if we are Shia and we
- 13:19really want to understand if our sins are affecting us or not, we
- 13:23should like make you know our self accountable.
- 13:27Where we realise what we did good today and what we did wrong
- 13:30today and like note it down so we know at the end of the day
- 13:34like did we please Allah and the Imam of our time today or did we
- 13:37not? This is a way of writing
- 13:39letters. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:40Yeah, and you build like a communication with him, so it
- 13:42was a nice reminder. It is.
- 13:44Beautiful. Also last week when we when we
- 13:46had that discussion with Shekhar Mohammed yes he talked about and
- 13:52in the in the in the context of knowing yourself to not Allah
- 13:55spoke to Allah. Obviously the root of of to
- 13:58Shayu is an Imama is Naboa and the root of Naboa is is
- 14:03revelation. The root of revelation is daheed
- 14:05to know Allah. Spon to Allah in my humble
- 14:07opinion is the foundation for everything else.
- 14:11I mean the knowledge of Allah. Spon to Allah is is what
- 14:15determines whether I pray on time or not.
- 14:18Forget even praying on time is what determines whether I'm
- 14:20praying. And you know, like the the, the
- 14:25heart is the, the sanctuary of Allah, Allah we hear, of course,
- 14:29and Allah, Allah, you know, there's an interesting kind of
- 14:33side note. There was a conversation between
- 14:36Nabi da Wood, Alah, Alah Nabi da Wood asks him.
- 14:41He says, yeah, Allah, what is your treasure?
- 14:45Every king, every Malik has a treasure, whether it's their
- 14:49palace, their gold, their land, whatever it is their throne.
- 14:54Allah spun to Allah responds to him.
- 14:55He says no. My heart, my my treasure is the
- 14:58heart of the believer. The heart of the believer he
- 15:01takes subhanallah, Allah spun Allah, Allah who has the whole
- 15:06dominion of dunya and akhara from the beginning of time until
- 15:10the end. Allah spun to Allah who created
- 15:13and sustained He's. Hail, hail you know He can, He
- 15:18can end and eradicate existence of anything at any given point.
- 15:23But his pleasure is found in the love of the heart of the
- 15:26believer. It just goes to show that we are
- 15:29doing a disservice to ourselves if we're not pleasing our last.
- 15:31Matala. Pleasing the Imam, pleasing say
- 15:34the Fatima Sahara. Pleasing say the Fatima Sahara
- 15:37is pleasing. Salaam Hamad sallallahu alaihi.
- 15:40We know of course, hadith. This is praising our last,
- 15:43pleasing a lot to our last. With a lot of the Fatima, it
- 15:46goes, it goes hand in hand. Vice versa, I just want to
- 15:48mention as well, we did a really interesting discussion.
- 15:51Well, it wasn't even it was a discussion.
- 15:53Muhammad Ali and Jamaah Knights had a series of women in Islam
- 15:58and one of the one of the episodes was talking about say
- 16:02the Fatima Sahara in such a way which was not my humble opinion,
- 16:07like not a way. I've heard how BB Fatima was the
- 16:10Imam of the Imams, pinnacle of the Imams and how she had a role
- 16:15of Imam to the other Imams. So it was like just mind blowing
- 16:20and I recommend everyone watches it and shout Allah.
- 16:23But yeah, really, really, really valid points in terms of
- 16:26preparation for the Imam, how we can do it, why we should do it.
- 16:29But I'm going to be very frank and transparent because there
- 16:31are a lot of people at home and even including ourselves
- 16:35sometimes, who do not have that connection, let alone don't have
- 16:38it, don't see the need or the requirement for it.
- 16:41So we are coming up to Shahadah Mavan, why do I need?
- 16:45OK, I know Mum cries blood. I know Mum sees my mother.
- 16:48Thursday deeds, OK? If I'm going to be very blunt,
- 16:53people will say why should I care what is?
- 16:56There's no guilt on my heart. You know, as bad as I know it
- 17:00is, I don't realise on a Monday or on a Thursday that today the
- 17:05Imam will get my list of deeds, for example.
- 17:08So those who are maybe lacking that connection, those who are
- 17:11not feeling like the the the proximity to the Imam.
- 17:15First of all, we need to know, again, if you link this to
- 17:18education, we need to know what is it that's keeping us away
- 17:22from the Imam. And second thing, what is it
- 17:25that he's wanting for us, if if that makes sense.
- 17:31Him crying, him worrying him, praying, him asking Allah, you
- 17:38know, for the reappearance, he's asking for the reappearance
- 17:40himself. Because this is Allah's
- 17:42planning. It is all for us.
- 17:46It's it's our benefit in us. It's our success in this, in all
- 17:51of this. So personally, what I do to keep
- 17:54myself closer to Mama Zamana Ajalat for the Sharif is
- 17:58speaking to him. We need to believe in him.
- 18:02The the Joaquin comes in when we get to know who he is, what is
- 18:07his mission, What did he do for Islam?
- 18:10So personally, I also had a very close, you know, a story, a
- 18:16personal experience regarding Mama's Wana Jalaltaf Sharif in
- 18:20my life and shall I speak about that later.
- 18:23But personally, what I do is speak to him after every Isha.
- 18:28Yeah, just he put everything aside and just think of him as
- 18:33someone who prays for us. Just keep everything aside and
- 18:36then he's not asking you for anything.
- 18:39You know, Imam was at once asked in a dream.
- 18:44He was like, Imam, what do you want?
- 18:45And he's like, I only need a pure heart and a soul of a
- 18:49mortman. That's it.
- 18:51He's not asking for anything. And what is that going to lead
- 18:54to us? What is that going to lead to?
- 18:56Is MO Taqwa more understanding of Allah swan Watallah more
- 19:01knowledge and a prevent from hypocrisy?
- 19:04Yeah what do I mean by that? So let me just put this one
- 19:08point across. Hypocrisy, you know prevents 2
- 19:13traits of a of a person, reputation and seeking depth
- 19:17knowledge of the religion, right?
- 19:20So in order to prevent yourself from this, you know this
- 19:25confusion of why does the Imam want us to be close?
- 19:28And you know just generally why do we care and why should we
- 19:32care? We need to again take, you know,
- 19:36judge yourself. That's actually a sin in
- 19:39doubting the Imams. And Allah swan with Allah
- 19:42because if Allah gives you the knowledge, he wants you to act
- 19:46upon it as well because a knowledge that is not acted upon
- 19:49is like a untouched treasure right?
- 19:52So personally when because I'm still a 20 year old young woman,
- 19:56so I had a very personal experience since I published a
- 20:01kids book, these English version, English translation and
- 20:07I was contacting this. Organization for months.
- 20:10And they were leaving me unread. They weren't replying to me.
- 20:14And then I was like, what? And I had like 100 copies of a
- 20:16book. Yeah, I had 100 copies of this
- 20:19book. And I was like, I need more
- 20:20children to, you know, have access to it.
- 20:22Because I did it for the kids and I did it for the sake of
- 20:25Imami Zamano Arjala Thalia for Sharif.
- 20:27OK, So this is me contacting the organization, them not replying.
- 20:32And then I leave the matter onto Imami Zamano.
- 20:35And one Tahaja time I was, you know, I was sound the masala.
- 20:41And I was like, oh, my mom, I'm leaving this match on to you.
- 20:44I've tried a lot. And they're not replying.
- 20:46And I've got, you know, thousands of books.
- 20:48Like, literally thousands of books.
- 20:50I've got some in my room still. OK.
- 20:54So this was last year on Rajab. Yeah.
- 20:58So keep in mind, I asked Imam is Amana at Tahajod?
- 21:02And we were invited to Aniyaz around 6:00.
- 21:07And I was eating in the hours. And then I get a call from my
- 21:09father. And I thought he was going to
- 21:11call me to, you know, let's go home.
- 21:13But no. He calls me.
- 21:14And he's like, Sarah, I found a book, you know, a founder of a
- 21:19book organization. And I told him about your books.
- 21:22And he's willing to look at them.
- 21:24And bear in mind, this is the same day I spoke to him.
- 21:27I'm his mother. And I was like, oh, and then he
- 21:30says he, he wants to meet you. My father says that guy wants to
- 21:33meet you. I was like OK and he comes out,
- 21:36I've, I've got 10 books in my hand because I was giving them
- 21:39out for free as well. In the name of my mum is Amano
- 21:42and I've got 10 books in my hand and I come out and the guy comes
- 21:47out and he was the same person I was contacting for two months.
- 21:53Yes. And he's not, he's not from
- 21:56Manchester or Bolton, he's actually from London.
- 21:59So and he wasn't expected to be there.
- 22:02So when we asked the people, when we asked the host, they
- 22:05were like, oh, we weren't expecting him.
- 22:06So I don't know where he came from.
- 22:09So I don't know who sent him there.
- 22:12What made him, you know, to go there, I have no idea.
- 22:15Did you ask him why I left you already?
- 22:17No, I did. I did.
- 22:20You know, I told him that I was, you know, I was texting you for
- 22:22two months. He's like, oh, yeah, we did see
- 22:24your messages, but we were quite busy.
- 22:26I was like, OK, but obviously. And then he says his phrase,
- 22:30yeah, which left me sobbing. I started crying at that, you
- 22:33know, at that moment. And he says he looks through my
- 22:37books and he's like amazing, amazing graphic wig was all done
- 22:40in Iran and Pakistan. And then he's like in the name
- 22:44of Mama Zamana, we accept your books.
- 22:46And I start crying at that moment and then he's looking at
- 22:49me like, why is she crying? It's not even that big.
- 22:52But for me it was a big moment. It's the world to you love, love
- 22:56that mentality and thanks for sharing this honey.
- 22:58It makes us like, you know, have that pain that for those
- 23:02listening or watching, you know, sometimes they feel like because
- 23:04people have similar experiences with us.
- 23:06You know I pray and I ask but my daughter doesn't get answered
- 23:09and things. We have the best of the best
- 23:11Wasilla in the world and that's Sharif and inshallah.
- 23:16For those who don't have a connection with him, let's all
- 23:19be inspired by the story. Inshallah working ourselves
- 23:23build a connection, a relationship with my mom.
- 23:25But since before you mentioned a story there was 1 keyword you
- 23:28mentioned, you said understanding Allah, you know
- 23:30what matter of fact having that understanding that who Allah is
- 23:34and believing in tauheed and believing in Allah Allah and
- 23:36trying to understand what God is all about.
- 23:39And I think there's a question I want to ask here.
- 23:42For us to reach the stage to know Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala, we
- 23:46have to start somewhere beyond just saying OK there is God, how
- 23:52do we understand that? The question I want to come to
- 23:54is, is the only way for us to reach that stage is that we have
- 23:58to go seek knowledge. So now there's like 2-3
- 24:01questions I want to ask here. See, I know there's about many,
- 24:03many questions, but I'm trying to get the most out of you
- 24:06because I know you've driven 4 hours and inshallah will do
- 24:09justice here. I want to seek knowledge, to
- 24:13understand the law. Subpoena Mata Allah to
- 24:15understand Rasulullah Muhammad to understand the elevator,
- 24:17understand the truth. To understand what La ilaha What
- 24:21la ilaha Allah means what aishaddhan Muhammad rasul Allah
- 24:24means there's a lot of questions.
- 24:25We believe in God, we go home, we sleep, we pray, but we don't
- 24:28really pay attention. And the only way for us to
- 24:30understand all of this is that we have to seek and we have to
- 24:35go study. And Marshalla, you are a student
- 24:37of Hauser and you are in the field of sharing knowledge with
- 24:40a lot of people. So I want to ask you, being a
- 24:43sister, you know, entering this field of seeking knowledge and
- 24:47sharing knowledge and learning knowledge, where do you start?
- 24:52Because I say this because there was a conversation we had
- 24:54previously a few weeks ago, Ahmed and someone messaged on my
- 24:57sister. But every time I want to go seek
- 25:00knowledge, no one wants to take me as a student or no one.
- 25:04You know there is no female scholars out there that I can
- 25:07learn from the old male. And I thought, you know, the
- 25:11females in our community like they want to do more in terms of
- 25:16seeking knowledge and it's there's always emphasis on the
- 25:18man to go house down on the man to teach his kids.
- 25:21But the mothers feel the same as well.
- 25:23The sisters feel the same as well.
- 25:24Where do they start? Good question based on your
- 25:27experience. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:28OK. If you if you if you're asking
- 25:30me my experience, yeah it's been really different in in a case
- 25:34that obviously as we mentioned before I'm from Belgium so I'm a
- 25:38European you know girl and I started Islamic knowledge from
- 25:43the age of seven from Pakistan, online everything was online.
- 25:48Hamdullah was my parents and my siblings who always supported me
- 25:52in this and my family you know itself is very cautious on the
- 25:57fact of you know, we need to whatever we do, we need to know
- 26:02is this action approved by Imam, is Amana?
- 26:04Is this action approved by Allah?
- 26:05Swan, was Allah? OK?
- 26:07So again in the Quran I come back to the Quran as well.
- 26:11Allah said that I sent down the Alhabet as role models right
- 26:16Albert and many other personalities.
- 26:18So if you look at, if you know focusing on woman, we've got a
- 26:22very big personality. Ladies, Zainab Salaam Al Al Ehi,
- 26:28who was given the name of Alima Raima.
- 26:31Alima by an Imam, right. So on we got, we got a story of
- 26:36this on the day of Karbala when you know the tents you know were
- 26:41burning down and Imam Hussein was killed on the Yabba shooter,
- 26:45Lady Xena Salam Alai came into the tent and she asks Imam
- 26:51Sajad, what do you want me to do?
- 26:53Do you want me to take you out of the tent or do you want, you
- 26:57know, you know the story, right? Do you want us to, you know,
- 27:00burn down and die right here? So Imam Sajjad, you know this is
- 27:04not said a law in the rewire. My Imam Sajad actually smiles,
- 27:08smiles a bit and he says towards, you know, her aunt, his
- 27:12aunt. And he says you're asking me a
- 27:16question even though you are Alima.
- 27:18Alima even though you know everything, Alima, Alima means
- 27:23having the end without being taught.
- 27:25And ladies in the In the era of Jahiliya, where people used to
- 27:31think that girls are bad luck, girls shouldn't be born in their
- 27:34homes. She used to run Hausa.
- 27:37She used to teach women about public speaking.
- 27:40She used to tell women about women empowerment.
- 27:42She used to tell women about, you know, upbringing in the
- 27:44right way. She used to tell women about how
- 27:46you should be at home with your husband, with your brothers,
- 27:50with the relatives. So this is this is the role
- 27:53model. I personally take lessons from
- 27:55the design of Salaam Al Ali. I personally learned a lot from
- 27:58her. The confidence she had in the
- 28:00Palace of Yazid, the confidence she had throughout the journey
- 28:04of Karbala and Kufa and Sham is unexplainable.
- 28:08I I become speechless when I, you know talk about ladies and
- 28:11Salaam Ala Lehha And then we get we have a story from Lady Zara
- 28:16Salaam Ala Lehha as well. Once the lady in Medina came up
- 28:19to her and she kept on asking questions to a point where she
- 28:23thought she was being a bit annoying.
- 28:24So she apologizes to Lady Zara and says I'm sorry, I keep
- 28:28asking questions. So Lady Zara says Lady Zara
- 28:31Salaam Ala Lehha says she stops her right there and she says
- 28:35never apologize on asking questions, because asking
- 28:39questions and attaining God's mercy is a sign of a believer.
- 28:44That's what Lady says. She says that you do not know
- 28:47what you're doing at this moment.
- 28:49You're telling all the other ladies that it's okay to ask
- 28:51questions. There's nothing wrong in not
- 28:53knowing something. And if you shed light on the
- 28:56first verse of the Swan Tyler ever, ever revealed was he said,
- 29:04read in the name of Allah. So he didn't focus it on men or
- 29:09men read, he didn't focus it on women or women.
- 29:12Read in the eyes of Allah, men and women are equal.
- 29:15Their roles might differ, the account rulings might differ,
- 29:19but their role towards Islam, towards Allah towards albeit are
- 29:23equal. Yeah, so in order to and the
- 29:26fact the hadees we get in Bihar and Alwar that from the three
- 29:29and the 13 we've got 50 or 55 women, What are they doing
- 29:33there? It shows the rank and position
- 29:36of women in Islam. And it's not just that.
- 29:38I think from sorry to interrupt you.
- 29:40From the beginning until the end of early Islamic history, we see
- 29:43the fundamental role of women either on the forefront or
- 29:47behind the scenes. So you know from the time of
- 29:50Islam. Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi
- 29:52Salaam of the wives he married was Bibiyum Salama.
- 29:56The role that Bibiyum Salama had was so important in the
- 30:00aftermath of Karbala as we know we've discussed this before.
- 30:03Say this as you probably remember that both Sunny and she
- 30:06are still Revere her until today.
- 30:08But she's deemed to be the most or one of the most reliable and
- 30:13respected globally approved narrators of a hadith for both
- 30:19sex within this within Islam. And you know, that's on an
- 30:23earlier level then you look later on, you've got, say, the
- 30:25Hakima, one of the, you know, the reports of the birth of the
- 30:28Holy Imam himself that happens in sha Allah.
- 30:30Next weekend comes from, say, the Hakima, the proof of his
- 30:33existence. You talk about Bibimasu Marcom.
- 30:36Bibimasu Marcom's journey to Hola Son was so strategic to the
- 30:40point where she would enter towns and cities where there
- 30:44were fortified lovers of the athlete of Islam, communities
- 30:49which were only growing through her visitation.
- 30:52So areas which the holy imams had passed through were
- 30:55strategically placed and she made such a route where, you
- 30:58know, they talk about the the route she took versus the route
- 31:00that Imam Radha Ali Islam took. It was so calculated.
- 31:06I think some of the respect we give BB Mass Markov is
- 31:08underappreciated, undervalued. She's the narrator of probably
- 31:12arguably the most famous Shah Hadith, which is how do we know
- 31:18that's from people? That's my call.
- 31:20So some of the hadith we have come from the top, top, top
- 31:24level scholars, those who put a lot of men to shame and
- 31:29unfortunately we don't give them the credit they deserve.
- 31:30Another at least when he says that hadith and he says teach
- 31:34the people our words and we'll do the rest.
- 31:37Introduce our values, our lessons to the people, the
- 31:40world, and we'll do the rest. It's because the athletics of
- 31:42Islam. Their words are magic.
- 31:44You know their words are synchronised with the Quran.
- 31:47Yeah, side by side. They they, you know,
- 31:50undetachable. You can't separate them.
- 31:53So the words of the last sponsor are there are miracles, as are
- 31:55the hadith of the other bitter themselves.
- 31:57A lot of those are hadith come from the female scholars in
- 31:59early Islamic history. We have to, we have to give that
- 32:02mention, I think. That's true.
- 32:03And if you look at, if you look at the, the four greatest women
- 32:06in history hadith from Prophet Muhammad, they were all women
- 32:11like if they were you know Lady Miriam, Lady Asia, Lady
- 32:15Khadijah, Lady Zara Salaam. So we need to know the the rank
- 32:18of woman and they've got suitors in the name of woman.
- 32:22We've got all suitors and Surah Nisa as well.
- 32:25So and Lady Zara, at that time she told us that she used to she
- 32:31used to bring Imam Hassan Hussein from the mosque and
- 32:33she's to sit down and she's, she used to be like tell me what you
- 32:36learnt, you tell me. And then she used to act as if
- 32:39she doesn't know something so she could test the knowledge of
- 32:42the, you know, her children. So she's basically this was a
- 32:45message that it's okay that I don't know something as well.
- 32:47You teach me, you know, So a woman needs to know in order to
- 32:52pass it down to her children and prepare them for Imam Izawana al
- 32:55Gilad. It's really, really important to
- 32:59educate ourselves for the imam of our time, and especially
- 33:03religious and secular both, because if you look at it, if
- 33:07Imam reappears, he's going to be like the pulpit is mine.
- 33:11That's my job. What have you learned other than
- 33:14that you know I'm going to OK, I'm going to continue the
- 33:17message of Allah. Other than that, what have you
- 33:19learned? But something that will never
- 33:22obviously die down is the Quran. So personally, going back to the
- 33:26question you asked me, what helped me was to be honest, it
- 33:30was reading the Quran with the translation and tasir.
- 33:34And for the youth, I'll recommend reading Tasila Namuna
- 33:38from Ayatollah Makaram. Sharazi is the most easiest
- 33:41tasir to understand and it's OK to start low.
- 33:45You know, as Sam tells us that there are scholars, they've
- 33:50learned something, pass it on to someone and all that doesn't
- 33:54give anyone knowledge until he doesn't make it incumbent on
- 33:57them to pass it on to someone, right?
- 33:59So if you see someone, for example, I always take examples
- 34:02of stairs. If you're on the 5th step and
- 34:04you see someone on 3rd, just pull them up.
- 34:06That's why Imams did as well, like whoever, whenever in
- 34:09history. If you see in history whenever
- 34:12someone came up to the imams, they never made them feel dumb
- 34:16or you know, illiterate on something.
- 34:18They was like okay. This is the answer.
- 34:20This is where Allah said it and where where have you like their
- 34:24humbleness and kind words at the end you've always heard that
- 34:27they fell down on their knees and said I want to accept Islam.
- 34:30That's what we should do as well if we need to learn from the
- 34:33role models of Allah Sabah Matala.
- 34:36Mashallah, mashallah. And you know what's beautiful,
- 34:38right? This entire conversation, we
- 34:39have to say Quran elevate, Quran elevate.
- 34:43Truly, they are inseparable. And I and I have a question, you
- 34:46know, it's just that someone just send in a question.
- 34:48Ahmed shared it with me. And I was like, you know, if we
- 34:50do end up mentioning this, I think now is the time.
- 34:53You said the Quran is what helped you.
- 34:56And at the same time, I've realized you always refer back
- 34:58to the Echel bait, Ali Martha Salati with Salaam.
- 35:00So here I'm saying the Quran and the Ehel Bait are inseparable
- 35:03and we know Hadith al Thakalin. Yeah.
- 35:06Can we ever separate from them? No.
- 35:09Someone that asks this question, can I have the Quran enough for
- 35:11me or can I have the echel bait for me because I can lose focus?
- 35:15Can I just add to that question as well?
- 35:16Like is it so a lot of us will study like for example, you
- 35:20know, a good place to start. You look at, I don't know,
- 35:23Katabu Shah by Sheikh and Mufid. You start with Katabu Shah.
- 35:26How do I then link my knowledge? Because there are times where
- 35:30you feel like this is my Adam's make time.
- 35:31I might imagine something Martha and I'm reading Katabu Shah
- 35:34whatever it is. And then you're like, this is my
- 35:36Quran time. I'm I'm on the Musa and I've got
- 35:39the Quran I'm reading so far, seeing whatever it might be.
- 35:41How do I bring the two into one? How do I how do I do you require
- 35:48a minimum threshold of knowledge where when you read a verse
- 35:50you're like hi, I know, I know that the context of this IA is
- 35:54revealed in this context where the and the beta were in this
- 35:56situation. You know what I mean is there is
- 35:58there a stage, the minimum requirement of knowledge that I
- 36:01need to have to be able to put one and two together, not even
- 36:051:00 and 2:00 but you know, like for like together.
- 36:08Don't even rank it as one and two, but like for like together
- 36:11and understand their their symbiotic, you know?
- 36:15Yeah, OK I I I mentioned this which made me really focus in
- 36:21the Quran. And the other bit, as you said,
- 36:23I mentioned everything back to the, you know, Quran.
- 36:27Obviously everything is planned by Allah, right?
- 36:29So Allah left some hints in the Quran and then he said if you
- 36:35need the whole thing refer back, you refer to the other bit and
- 36:38look at their quotes. So there's no way you can intake
- 36:41the whole Quran without referring back to the Elbai
- 36:43Talimasa. But what I mean to say is if
- 36:45when you're studying one, are you by nature also studying the
- 36:49other? Because if you study Ali
- 36:51Abdullah be Taliban Islam, you're gaining of knowledge of
- 36:55Imam Ali. Is that not also gaining
- 36:57knowledge of the Quran? Do you see what I'm what I've
- 37:00been, I know. Said I agree.
- 37:01We're on the same. Yeah, yeah, I knew.
- 37:04You are, you are. But again, you not get
- 37:07everything. You can't get full understanding
- 37:09from just one part. Of course, yeah, you need to
- 37:11take. There's a reason he said Quran
- 37:13and the Elbeit. That means he said you can take
- 37:17something from the Quran but you need to refer back to the Elbeit
- 37:20and again Allah. The Quran does mention about
- 37:26Ekam. You know dawheed how you should
- 37:29be with the relatives to a certain extent.
- 37:33But if you go, I'll give you an example.
- 37:36If if you said the Quran, the Quran says you need to pray five
- 37:40times a day. But the way on how you should
- 37:43pray is only said by a Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
- 37:46The Quran says this is how you do.
- 37:48He told us that you need to do, you know you need to perform
- 37:51with you, but how do you perform it?
- 37:54That's in the rewire. See The thing is I think that we
- 37:57tend to have, I don't know if you agree with me saying, but
- 38:00we've discussed this that we're we're we are imbalanced as a
- 38:04community. There's no kind of doubting that
- 38:07and we fall prey to being very one sided when it comes to Vicar
- 38:11of the Ethel of Islam and not the same attention being given
- 38:14to the Holy Qantan in these weeks coming.
- 38:17Not even forget even the start of the Ramadan.
- 38:19I should be on my Quran now, like I should be day in, day out
- 38:25studying. And we've talked about this
- 38:26before how you could take it in many options.
- 38:28You know you've got 30 days, 30 nights, you could do adjust per
- 38:33night, You could focus on once for another whole month, you
- 38:36could do 3 / 10 days each, whatever it might be.
- 38:39But as a community we might be like that quite often, right?
- 38:45Where we focus on one, we're we're so used to growing in a
- 38:48culture where we attend majorities and that is our
- 38:50island big time and we feel I've done my religious thing for the
- 38:53day, especially when you're when you're not a student of
- 38:56knowledge per SE. Religion has its time of day, as
- 39:01if your work has a time of day and as you're sleeping and
- 39:04eating at this time of day. So some of us will have that
- 39:06kind of mentality. Do you agree with?
- 39:09I just sort of agreed. And you know it's funny that
- 39:11we're speaking about this now about less than, well, by the
- 39:15time this is I think just over 2 weeks ago, I had a conversation
- 39:19with a scholar everyone knows and we were sort of trying to
- 39:23see if there is a way we can bring Quran more to the youth
- 39:28because Hamdullah, we love majalis.
- 39:30The the discussion was like having shows for the youth and
- 39:33stuff. Yeah, but there is more than,
- 39:36for example, knowing about the athen debate.
- 39:37Let's learn more about Allah through the Quran.
- 39:40And he was like we need to find that balance where if we are
- 39:43going to speak about Imam Ali and know so much about his
- 39:46virtues and all about his history and how great he is, we
- 39:50should also have that same balance with the Quran.
- 39:52Because if we say we are holding on to Haditha Thakalain, if we
- 39:56truly hold on to Quran and Nehalebate, we should have them
- 39:59as equal in our lives. There's no point I like.
- 40:03I would say literally from my my humble opinion, there is no
- 40:06point going to imagine list knowing your Imam lamenting your
- 40:10Imam, going over the history. And trying to live and be like
- 40:14him but neglect that aspect of the Quran because they lived by
- 40:17the Quran. And you said your favorite hobby
- 40:19that Fatima Zara used to have was the recitation, recitation
- 40:22of the Quran. And it shows the importance of
- 40:24Quran that even on her when she was when Lady Father Zahra was
- 40:29in her final moments, we know she was doing what?
- 40:31Reciting the Holy Quran. Exactly.
- 40:33And the servant she chose with her sister in the house, Bibi
- 40:37Fizza al Islam be the peace be upon she.
- 40:40What was she known for? Bibi Fizza?
- 40:42She's to, you know, speak the verses of the Holy Quran, she.
- 40:46Only used, yeah. Only used to talk, yeah.
- 40:48Bless us. Only used to conversant and this
- 40:51this was the person that baby father Machos.
- 40:53Yes. Yeah.
- 40:53So it's, yeah, great reminder for us.
- 40:55Well, you know, this is where I live by if I, you know, believe
- 40:58in the Alberta and Islam, I look at them as my role models.
- 41:02So how is it possible if I think of someone as a role model and
- 41:05not do something that they used to do?
- 41:08Yes, right. So if they used to pray, you
- 41:10know, Imam Ali is known for bravery, right?
- 41:13He was, he was really brave. But have you heard that quote of
- 41:17Imam Sajad, who was known as Saeeda Sajadi in the beauty of
- 41:19prayers, the beauty of Sajud? Once he was asked, he was said,
- 41:23oh Imam, you pray so much and you're going to Sajud so much.
- 41:27So he says my father is nothing in front of Imam Ali Ali Salaam.
- 41:32So this shows that Imam Ali used to pray as well.
- 41:36So if you're looking at his bravery, which is obviously
- 41:39speaking about Ali's Ibadah, right, But learn something from
- 41:42his actions as well because not only the you know, the will, I
- 41:46won't take you anywhere, will I with the you know actions will
- 41:50take you somewhere. So the will I and the Quran will
- 41:52take you somewhere if I say I'm a follower of Lady Zahara Salaam
- 41:56al Alaahan and I don't do her job just like her.
- 41:59And this doesn't make sense, right?
- 42:01If I say I respect my parents but then I don't obey them, it's
- 42:05it's the same way it's. Just because we haven't
- 42:07understood them, we haven't reached that level of marathon
- 42:11knowing what they represent, what they stand for and what we
- 42:13should learn from them and implement into our lives.
- 42:17Because ultimately it's it's just an emotional attachment to
- 42:21the island base if all we're doing is looking at their lives
- 42:24and not implementing what they did and told us to do.
- 42:27And it's not maybe you could argue it's it's it's surface
- 42:31level. So you it's it's not sincere.
- 42:34You know obviously the Huda Qurano Las Bartala talks about
- 42:39how prayer is difficult except the Khashi or those who have
- 42:44for. Sure.
- 42:45You know the sincerity and prayer.
- 42:46Like I find prayer hard. Does that mean I'm not
- 42:48insincere? Maybe I am.
- 42:50Allah knows best, you know. But the point being is that we
- 42:53should strive to such a level where thicker ibadah in any
- 42:58shape or form, whether it's prayer, whether it's reciting
- 43:01lamentation for the athlete Bacon was some, whether it's
- 43:03reciting Quran doesn't become burdensome or doesn't feel
- 43:06burdensome on us. That's when we know we've maybe
- 43:09attained kosher like in that purest form of sincerity.
- 43:13Because like you know I and we talk about this a lot how the
- 43:18the model picture we have of Jenna is the like Ferraris and
- 43:24like whatever Cadburys, whatever, whatever is there for
- 43:27you PS Fives you know, But for for a motbin, for a proper
- 43:31motbin, Jenna could be a a wide open space blank room with
- 43:36nothing but a prey mountain at that speed.
- 43:38You know what I mean? More hopefully so, but the idea
- 43:41being is that that should be sufficient and we should be at a
- 43:43stage where that is a goal. I don't know how.
- 43:46Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum. You mentioned him earlier and
- 43:49how he talks about Matt Leifer. Mum, Mum, what does he say when
- 43:51he was thrown into into prison? He says that I'm grateful for
- 43:55the opportunity to be alone with my Lord so.
- 43:57I can supplicate you more. And that is, that in itself is
- 44:01the mark of a believer, of a leader, of believers, you know.
- 44:05So inshallah we can be at a stage where we can, we can try
- 44:07and find a time or a place. Even my true belief is even if
- 44:13we get to a point where in the coming weeks we try our best to
- 44:18just really enjoy one prayer a day, honestly, like as a genuine
- 44:23goal, try your best to really enjoy one prayer a day and then
- 44:28you shall increase it to two and three and so.
- 44:30On I'd like to link that to. Sorry to interrupt but it
- 44:33reminded me a very good point. On the day of Karbala, on the
- 44:37day of Ashura, Imam Hussein said that the belief in Allah spawn
- 44:41Allah right? So when he was raising Ali Al
- 44:44Azhar he says I it's painful and I I feel the sorrow but I've got
- 44:49the akin that Allah is watching me.
- 44:51I know that Allah is with me right?
- 44:53And one thing I'd like to put across for the youth, whoever
- 44:56struggled to pray or don't know how to manage life and don't
- 45:01take Islam seriously, know what Allah wants right?
- 45:05Allah is not like obviously humans want perfection right?
- 45:10This is a bad thing in humans they don't look at effort but
- 45:13Allah looks at effort but not perfection.
- 45:17So what do I mean by that? So even if you even if you going
- 45:20to sujood, just going to sujood in you know in a day or in the
- 45:25night and just say y'allah, I'm back to you.
- 45:29Allah does not love you with a condition.
- 45:31I might like someone for a condition with a condition or I
- 45:35might be, you know in a relationship with someone who's
- 45:37in a condition. But Allah loves His or you know
- 45:42His person without condition. Unconditioned.
- 45:44Yeah, it's unconditional. So we get a story on this.
- 45:49There was a man who used to sin. You know, he used to repent and
- 45:53he did that, break his promise. And he, you know, come in his
- 45:57sin again for 50 years. After 50 years, he was ashamed
- 46:00and embarrassed to seek forgiveness.
- 46:03Right. So one day he was on the prayer
- 46:05map. He was crying, was ashamed.
- 46:07But he never said from his, you know, lips, he never said, oh
- 46:11Allah, forgive me. So he, he went to sleep on his,
- 46:15you know, masala. And then he sees Angel Gibral in
- 46:18his, you know, dream and he sees angels really asking him, he's
- 46:23like, why don't you say a stuff for a lot of why don't you just
- 46:27say, yeah, Allah forgive me, He says, how can I?
- 46:30I have sinned for 50 years, right.
- 46:34And I'm ashamed. How do like Allah might be
- 46:36thinking, oh He's 50 and He's back to me, you know, seeking
- 46:41forgiveness and He will never forgive me.
- 46:43So let me put this point across. Even doubting on Allah's mercy
- 46:47is a sin. You know Subhanallah, growing up
- 46:50when I was Charlotte youth by youthful age, I always remember
- 46:54Allah Subhanahu Attallah. He will hold you accountable on
- 46:58your youth youthful age. So that period you know what
- 47:02they said. What did you do with Shababak?
- 47:03You know during your youth because that's when you're at
- 47:07your most best you can perform and do everything without you
- 47:11know having for example let's say sicknesses or
- 47:14responsibilities and where you can focus on ibadah to Allah,
- 47:19subhanahu matallah. So it's a very critical keyword
- 47:21you said youth and Allah loves the youth and inshallah we also
- 47:25love Allah Subhanahu matallah. And Allah as you said is Alhamar
- 47:27Rahim before Rahim and you know we are in Shaban and Ramadan is
- 47:35the month of Allah. But Shaban is also the month of
- 47:37Rasool Allah No there is a hadith.
- 47:40I heard by I read by Imam Imam Asada Khalil Salam where he said
- 47:43Rasool Allah said Ramadan is the month of God, Shaban is my
- 47:50month. And if you love me, you connect
- 47:53both these months together by fasting.
- 47:56If you don't fast the entire month, you fast the final every
- 48:00night of Shabani connecting to Ramadan.
- 48:03So it's like if we're here now with Shaban and we know what
- 48:06Ramadan is coming up soon, we have to do more to change
- 48:10ourselves. We have to do more and I think
- 48:12we have to take an initiative and hold ourselves accountable
- 48:16and just stop sinning, stop doing wrong.
- 48:19Just you know as you mentioned earlier on have that
- 48:21relationship with the Imam, is the man like if I'm going to do
- 48:24an action, is this action going to upset my Imam and count as a
- 48:28sin towards me on the day where we all going to be held
- 48:31accountable? It's not worth it.
- 48:33Well Allah is not worth it. We say we love Rasul Allah it's
- 48:36not worth it, it's not worth it. But I know it's not easy and it
- 48:39leads me to a final question from me sister.
- 48:43I want to come towards mercy door of Rahmah of Allah
- 48:46Subhanahu masala. You know Ramadan is coming and
- 48:49we all have examples of how we saw the mercy of Imam and
- 48:54Hussein with but what other examples can we know that Allah
- 49:01truly is Rahman Rahim? Because people reach a stage
- 49:03where they say I've sinned so much, I've done so much Haram.
- 49:07There is no way on God's green earth Allah is going to accept
- 49:10me and allow me to enter his his paradise.
- 49:13How do we know Allah has forgiven us?
- 49:16Is it more than just seeking forgiveness?
- 49:18Is this like a feeling someone gets?
- 49:21OK, your question has the answer to it.
- 49:25So the the fact of you thinking that will Allah forgive me, Am I
- 49:31capable of forgiveness is a big blessing.
- 49:34Not everyone has the capability of thinking oh some people just
- 49:37live their lives and keep sinning and keep sinning.
- 49:40They don't worry about the the fact of what will Allah, Allah
- 49:43think about me. So the fact of how do we know
- 49:47Allah Allah has forgiven us is OK.
- 49:51Being ashamed what? Being ashamed is one of the
- 49:54factors of seeking forgiveness. So if you sat on the musala and
- 49:58you're like, y'allah, forgive me, and you're ashamed that
- 50:01you'll never repeat that, OK? Being ashamed and never
- 50:05repeating that sin are the two main factors, right?
- 50:09So if you have that thing in you that Y'allah, I'm never going
- 50:12to, you know, repeat this sin and I'm ashamed and then you
- 50:16don't repeat that sin, you know Allah's forgiven you.
- 50:20So the fact of you just thinking and going back to Allah and
- 50:24being ashamed this, there's no bigger proof of Allah's mercy.
- 50:29And another thing, Allah not punishing you immediately is a
- 50:33fact of him being merciful. You know, you mentioned the
- 50:35words feeling guilty, having that guilt.
- 50:37I remember there was a conversation I had a long time
- 50:39ago and someone said, you know if you feel guilty, trust me,
- 50:44God loves you. The fact that you can still feel
- 50:46guilty if you've done something wrong that means there is that
- 50:49the door of repentance is still open because people reach a
- 50:52stage where they sins and sin, that sin becomes so normal they
- 50:56don't even think it's a sin normal.
- 50:57They make they think it's absolutely fine and they go to
- 51:00sleep like they've done no wrong.
- 51:01And the fact I think we can feel guilty and and Charlotte, we can
- 51:04humble ourselves and feel ashamed and possibly do more
- 51:07stuff. And being Shaban apart from the
- 51:11fasting, apart from the charity losses.
- 51:14The this. Is the month of figures.
- 51:17That's true. This reminds me of his story.
- 51:20Imam Ali asked Prophet Muhammad he was like, oh prophet yah
- 51:24Rasulullah, what should we do in the month of Shahaban in
- 51:27Ramadan? He said just prevent yourself
- 51:31from sin, that's all he said. He didn't say fast, he didn't
- 51:35say pray. So if the basic, the main goal
- 51:38for us should be preventing ourselves from sin, yes, you
- 51:41could be fasting but you could be you know, committing sin as
- 51:44well, like you know, backbiting, not doing the hijab, that's
- 51:47committing sin. So generally our main goal
- 51:51should be just preventing ourselves from sin right?
- 51:54And just knowing that Allah is always merciful, Allah is not
- 51:57going to leave you alone. Allah is always watching you.
- 52:00Someone was asked to commit a sin in front of a six year old,
- 52:04right? And he was like, why are you
- 52:06asking me to commit a sin in front of a six year old?
- 52:09He might be looking at me even though he doesn't, you know,
- 52:12have a grown intellect. He doesn't know what a sin is.
- 52:14A six year old doesn't know that.
- 52:16So then the scholar says in return he's like you're not
- 52:18standing in front of the six year old, but you're sitting in
- 52:21front of your Lord. So just have that understanding
- 52:25of who Allah is and if you do like we get a story.
- 52:28Again, these are all my horses stories where I've learned.
- 52:31Keep sharing them we're learning from.
- 52:34This there was, there was a young man who was, you know,
- 52:37praying in a in a dark room. And there was a King's daughter
- 52:41who ran away from the house and she didn't have anyone to say
- 52:45overnight. Yeah.
- 52:46So she enters this room and there's this young man in in
- 52:49front of a candle. That's it.
- 52:51And he just, he never looks towards the woman, the, the, the
- 52:55girl. And she's shocked.
- 52:57She's like, why is he not looking at me?
- 52:58We're in a room alone, obviously the third is Shaitaan.
- 53:01We've heard it. And what is he doing in this,
- 53:04you know, alone dark room? And I'm a young, beautiful girl.
- 53:08He's not doing anything. And then when she goes back home
- 53:13the next morning, the dad asked, the king asked, where were you?
- 53:16What happened? You know, Long story short, she
- 53:18was like, oh, I was with the guy and he didn't even look at me.
- 53:20He's like, bring that young man towards me, call, you know, the
- 53:23young man, he comes to the king and he's like, how come you
- 53:27saved yourself from the sin? So he says, I had a candle in
- 53:33front of me. This story shows us the fact of,
- 53:36you know, believing in the existence of Allah, Samarah.
- 53:39What Allah. So he says whenever I had the
- 53:43thought or intention of looking at the girl, I used to put one
- 53:46of my finger in the fire to remember the fire of, you know,
- 53:50the Jahannam. And then when he takes his hand
- 53:52out of the other whole, all of his hand was burnt, whole hand
- 53:56was burnt and it was black. So this it's like if you give
- 54:00your children the existence of Allah.
- 54:03Like if you explain them the existence of Allah swan with
- 54:07Allah they will never sin, even if they're if they're alone.
- 54:10You know if you know there's a camera in the room, you sit
- 54:13still, you won't move right. You'll be afraid or who's
- 54:17watching me. So just believe in, you know the
- 54:19camera 24/7. My my father says is that
- 54:21Allah's eye is the you know camera 24/7.
- 54:24He's always watching you very true and and he's so you know,
- 54:30Imam Ali says in Najib Alaga. I'm worried about the man who
- 54:34doesn't seek forgiveness, who loses hope in Alas, Saban,
- 54:38Ozalah. Despite the fact of seeking
- 54:40forgiveness, you know from Alas Saban Ozalah, and be thankful to
- 54:45the Lord who's you know hidden your sins to an extent that you
- 54:49think he's forgiven them. Yeah.
- 54:51Yeah, So, yeah. There's there's like a really a
- 54:56final point for me and maybe a last question for you, but like,
- 55:01we could definitely talk for another two of the reals, but we
- 55:04don't need to get home or get off the bug if we'll get home
- 55:06after Fajr, honestly. But yeah, I mean, look, there's
- 55:13in terms of like just going back maybe a few minutes.
- 55:16So you mentioned a good point about our our lack of knowledge
- 55:21about or or maybe our our desensitization to sinning.
- 55:25So we sin sometimes and we don't feel guilt.
- 55:27I know you mentioned that as well saying, I'll be honest,
- 55:29that happened to be today. So I had a moment today where I
- 55:33felt like, you know, I'll do it later or whatever was in terms
- 55:38of my solar. So I was like, yeah, I'll pray
- 55:41later. A lot of this, that, whatever.
- 55:43I was like, Nah, I can't because tonight I'm recording a podcast
- 55:46about getting close to our last part and here I am three hours
- 55:50earlier, five hours or whatever it was.
- 55:52I can't be a hypocrite. So I'm like, yeah, that guilt
- 55:55plays on our minds. That guilt is a good thing
- 55:59because it pushes you. So you get up and then you go
- 56:02and do the water's cold and but by the end of it, you're like,
- 56:06yeah, it was worth it. Do you know what I mean?
- 56:07You feel that, like that satisfaction.
- 56:10There's nothing greater than that satisfaction.
- 56:13Absolutely nothing greater. At times we feel confused.
- 56:15We feel lost. You know, there's you know
- 56:18where. What is my purpose?
- 56:20day-to-day? Where am I going with life?
- 56:22What is Allah? Sponsor Allah's plan for me?
- 56:25Brother. Look around.
- 56:26Look at the universe. Allah has created everything in
- 56:30tandem, in perfect motion. The the, the, the heavens and
- 56:34the earth. You look at, from a cosmological
- 56:37and astronomical level, the moons that orbit the planets,
- 56:42the planets that orbit the sun. You know the galaxies within the
- 56:45universe. You look at a microcosmic level,
- 56:47an atomic level. You look at the proton and the
- 56:50neuron, the electron and an atom, how they all work in
- 56:53motion. You look at the the beehive and
- 56:55the bee colony. You look at the Ant farm.
- 56:57Everything has its place. Animals aren't confused.
- 57:00Animals have its its roles. Animals have its duties, its
- 57:03responsibilities. But here we are, humans
- 57:07confused. A miserable human being.
- 57:10The irony is what we have the answer, you know, we know what
- 57:14is what. We know how to reach perfection,
- 57:16how to reach our last font. We can articulate, we can
- 57:19communicate, we can contemplate, we can intellectualise we can
- 57:23rational, be rational with our thought and and and understand
- 57:27what is right and what is wrong. We can engage with others,
- 57:31learn, you know, digest information there.
- 57:33These are things which we have at the tip of our fingertips.
- 57:37And if we are not using that that resource today, then you
- 57:41know we are a lost cause. We're we're a defeated nation.
- 57:45We are the nation of Imam and us like that.
- 57:47That in itself is a heavy, heavy responsibility that we hold.
- 57:51Like we are the chosen nation. We are the chosen nation.
- 57:55This, this earth has existed for millennia.
- 57:57We are amongst the last of of mankind who is in the Lord of
- 58:01the awaiting the Lord of the Holy Imam Insha'allah.
- 58:05So you know we have to use this opportunity now.
- 58:07This may be the last time 15th shaban is without the Holy Imam.
- 58:12This may be the last shahrah madan we live in or we see
- 58:16inshallah we make it and we make it to the end.
- 58:18But hopefully we make it to the end by the next year.
- 58:22We're still here and the Imam is with us.
- 58:23Inshallah, Inshallah. So I think you've given me a lot
- 58:27of inspiration since I know you've definitely given say it
- 58:29as well and I'm I'm without a shadow of a doubt I'm I'm very
- 58:33sure that there are a lot of young brothers and sisters at
- 58:35home who are very grateful for you to for coming on as are we.
- 58:40So thank you very much to yourself also to your brother
- 58:43and and your your sister-in-law for making the journey and for
- 58:46for you know, allowing us to benefit from your wisdom, your
- 58:49knowledge. You have inshallah a very bright
- 58:51future ahead of you. We really look forward to having
- 58:53you back on after model if you were to come on.
- 58:56Or was that your favorite? Maybe we'll get Studio.
- 58:58Up north to save you the journey.
- 59:00Inshallah, is there anything last that you want to test, say
- 59:03or add before we wrap up? Yeah, it's a quote from mom, Ali
- 59:07and Najibullah. He says there's no point of your
- 59:09eyesight if you don't have good and excellent insight.
- 59:13So you need to. You need to know.
- 59:15Mom, Ali had boss, yeah. You need to have the
- 59:20understanding of yourself, who you believe in, what shahada
- 59:24you've said, Who are your imams? What is your purpose in life?
- 59:28All the factors contribute to this, which comes with the, you
- 59:32know, depth, knowledge and understanding of the religion.
- 59:35Islam, where would you take this knowledge?
- 59:38What are you going to do with it?
- 59:39Everything will be questionable. You know others are going to
- 59:42question this as well. So whatever I'm doing right now
- 59:44is a big responsibility and I will be questioned for it and
- 59:48you have no excuse in this day and age of not educating
- 59:52yourself. And you know, just educate
- 1:00:03yourselves. And if you can't, if you're
- 1:00:06struggling with it, start with the Quran.
- 1:00:08Our Imam saw the 60. Mommy says there's no one person
- 1:00:13who does not gain anything when he gets up from reciting the
- 1:00:17Quran whether that's 1% of ill So we always gain something
- 1:00:21while reciting the Quran which I personally referring back to the
- 1:00:24podcast, it did help me a lot personally.
- 1:00:27So because it opens questions, it opens your mind, it gives you
- 1:00:31in depth understanding of Tori, the understanding of Allah, you
- 1:00:34know, you know belaya and the rank of women, how we should be
- 1:00:39with you know people calm everything.
- 1:00:42The answer is Quran. So go look into it and you know
- 1:00:47everything has, you know, an appetite to the appetite of our
- 1:00:51soul and our heart is the Zika of Alaswan Matala and the Zika
- 1:00:55of the Holy Quran. So that's what.
- 1:00:58I'm going to beautiful and I'm sure everyone watching this
- 1:01:00thing is taking notes. If you're not, you're in
- 1:01:02trouble. And I'm telling you, there's so
- 1:01:04much we've learned today. And inshallah, the advice that
- 1:01:07sister just ended here was amazing.
- 1:01:08And I just want to echo Ahmed points earlier where he extended
- 1:01:11his hand and gratitude. You know, you've driven here 4
- 1:01:13hours and you know you've shared with us your valuable time and
- 1:01:16your knowledge and inshallah, it's a conversation everyone's
- 1:01:19found benefiting. But the fact you draw 4 hours, I
- 1:01:22think it's only fair that the viewers understand about your
- 1:01:27recent work. You recently made the
- 1:01:28publication where you author the book and I think it's called.
- 1:01:32Can you just tell us a bit about it for those who don't know and
- 1:01:35how they can get access to that book and where they can find
- 1:01:38your work? Okay.
- 1:01:40So first of all, you got a poem in that book as well.
- 1:01:44So you contributed. You contributed?
- 1:01:49Because you mentioned the just so much Sony, so we speak about
- 1:01:53this book for. Yeah.
- 1:01:54So one thing I'd like to keep tell the Youth is working for
- 1:01:59the Imam of Imam of your time is working for the rest of the
- 1:02:02Alberta. So they're going to ask you who
- 1:02:04your Imam was at that time, right?
- 1:02:06So do whatever you can for Imam is Amana and the latest
- 1:02:09publication is on the Last Hope. So obviously in this world of
- 1:02:14oppression and tyranny, the only hope you've got is Obama, Zamana
- 1:02:17and you know, always ask him question.
- 1:02:20And it's about how we can purify ourselves.
- 1:02:22The concept of Roger, the return, it's on how you know,
- 1:02:26the signs of the reappearance and what does Imam is Imam want?
- 1:02:30There's a beautiful story in that book of a companion Imam
- 1:02:34Ali, and we can refer back to our Imam on how we can build
- 1:02:38that connection. I'm not going to give everything
- 1:02:39away because then there's no point of writing the book.
- 1:02:42And I've got all my work on Instagram if you want to, you
- 1:02:46know. So it's Sarah Rizvi with two
- 1:02:50eyes. Yeah, I'm.
- 1:02:53Sure, there must be like 5 million Sarah Rizvi's in the
- 1:02:55world. So the fact that you got the one
- 1:02:57with two eyes. So if you actually, you know,
- 1:03:01selling them privately. So I've not actually published
- 1:03:03them. I know because.
- 1:03:05You're both you're both descendants of the same imam.
- 1:03:08Yeah. Mashallah and here I'm sister.
- 1:03:15Thank you very much. Before you could you please ask
- 1:03:17everyone to subscribe after we haven't said it ourselves.
- 1:03:21Please I'll put on my Instagram as well.

- 1:03:26make sure you watch every video. Like comment, subscribe.

- 1:03:33Thank you so much Bell, icon, whatever that is.
- 1:03:36Yeah, there you go. Bell Icon Notification Bell.
- 1:03:39Those hit the notification bell. That's the one.

- 1:03:58than thank you sister and also thank you to everyone at home
- 1:04:01for for being patient. If you've made it this far then
- 1:04:03thank you for staying till the end and let us know in the
- 1:04:07comments if there is anything particular.
- 1:04:09We say this every week but let us know what you want us to talk
- 1:04:11about, how these podcasts may be helping you.
- 1:04:15There's someone who messaged yesterday saying how the podcast
- 1:04:18has stopped, helped them stop listening to your music.
- 1:04:20And that like probably helped me, you know, helped me like
- 1:04:22feel like OK, inshallah, it's making some some help, some
- 1:04:26benefit to people's lives. So thank you very much said
