- 0:00I'm Abby and I'm Anna, and this is series beef.
- 0:03Welcome, welcome. Well, here we are.
- 0:07Here we are. We're actually getting ahead of
- 0:08the game, folks, because. We're not reporting this two
- 0:11days before the. Legit, we're doing well.
- 0:14We're doing well. Look at us.
- 0:15We haven't fucked it. Yet.
- 0:16Not yet. Not yet.
- 0:18It's supposed to get real cold this weekend.
- 0:19So we're like, let's get together now and, and, and
- 0:22record. So yes, here we are.
- 0:25Well, OK, I got the beef. Let's hear it.
- 0:29Do you know about Washington, DC?
- 0:32Well, I do, yeah. I mean, I've heard of it.
- 0:35Never been. No.
- 0:36Yeah, on the list. Lots of lots of like memorials
- 0:41and places I want to visit Smithsonian.
- 0:43Absolutely. OK, I learned interesting
- 0:46information. OK, OK, listen to Erica and I
- 0:51are we sit across from each other so we don't work at all.
- 0:54That's not true. We very hard, but we also chit
- 0:57chat and we had a whole discussion about Washington DC
- 1:03because I was like talking about my license plates.
- 1:08OK that you're trying to get the list together.
- 1:10Yeah, because I was like New Hampshire and Vermont.
- 1:13Where are you? Take a road trip.
- 1:14For fuck's sake. Christ.
- 1:16And I was like, well, I don't have Washington, DC either, but
- 1:19I've just sort of given up on that.
- 1:22She goes, well, you got to include them.
- 1:24That's all they really got. I'm like, what do you mean
- 1:26that's all they got, OK. And she's like, they can't vote.
- 1:32And I was like, what do you mean they can't vote?
- 1:35She goes, yeah, the people in Washington, DC, you can vote for
- 1:39like, president, right? But you don't have, they don't
- 1:42have representation. They don't have representation.
- 1:44And so it's on their latest plate and taxation that
- 1:47representation. Now, let me tell you something.
- 1:48I fucking watched Schoolhouse Rock.
- 1:52Yes, that's called taxation without representation, and it's
- 1:55not fair. And it's not.
- 1:56Fair. Damn it, that's true.
- 2:00Not admittedly. Most of the people who live in
- 2:02Washington, DC are probably the representation for other people.
- 2:06OK, you know what I'm saying? You know what?
- 2:08Congress is there. OK.
- 2:10When they're not, you know, golfing.
- 2:12I said I wasn't going to get political on this, but you want,
- 2:15damn it, Washington, DC, DC deserves some fucking
- 2:18representation. They don't have senators.
- 2:20Ain't no fucking senators. They have a representative Uno
- 2:24representative who can't vote right now.
- 2:30Eleanor is her name and she's she's like, she attends the
- 2:35House of Representative meetings, I assume.
- 2:38We hope. Why would she?
- 2:40But she can't vote. She's got no no pop work.
- 2:43He does some shit. Yeah, that is some shit.
- 2:46Got some shit, Washington DCI, see you.
- 2:49I don't see your license plates, but I see you and that ain't
- 2:54fair. That's some bullshit.
- 2:56That's my beef today. My beef is with Washington DC
- 2:58for so many reasons, but specifically part.
- 3:01Of the United States, but it's not considered a state then.
- 3:04Fucking what do you mean? It's a district.
- 3:07In. District of Columbia.
- 3:10OK, Well, we all are in districts, but that's where your
- 3:14voting district. Is.
- 3:16OK, So what the fuck? Like, are they in Virginia?
- 3:20Are they in Maryland? I know that.
- 3:22It's like, oh, they're their own thing.
- 3:23They're their own separate. No, the fuck they're not.
- 3:26It's a District of Columbia. Which Columbia?
- 3:29Where's? Where's Columbia?
- 3:31Like the country, is it a county in in like you said, like
- 3:36Virginia is it what is it? I don't know that I actually
- 3:39don't know, but they're they're on separate entities.
- 3:42It's not a state. So.
- 3:43There is a, there is a, a Columbia, Virginia.
- 3:47So I don't know where it is. So then if it's a District of
- 3:50Columbia, wouldn't it make it part of part of?
- 3:53I don't? Apparently not because it's
- 3:56separate. It's completely separate.
- 3:58It's not part of any state because that's how that's how
- 4:01it's supposedly it's supposed to keep it neutral.
- 4:05Who gives a fuck? Well, it's really, that's
- 4:08actually quite important it, you know, I don't know, to me.
- 4:17It can't possibly neutral because I'm thinking you've
- 4:19liked a whole bunch of Republicans and then it's not
- 4:22neutral, it's Republican. We've liked a whole bunch of
- 4:24Democrats, then there's a whole bunch of Democrats in.
- 4:25There. Well, I was thinking, I was
- 4:26thinking that was kind of maybe an important thing for our
- 4:28politicians to remember because we've gotten so far away from
- 4:33having an open mind and being able to hear both sides and
- 4:36listening and doing what's best for the people rather than
- 4:37what's what's, you know, the agenda of your, of your
- 4:41so-called party. So, but yeah, that we're, we're
- 4:44too far away from that. I'm looking at, I'm looking at
- 4:46the fucking Washington, DC, It's a tiny little fucking district.
- 4:51Hold on a minute. Hold your fucking titties.
- 4:54I don't know where state lines are.
- 4:55That's clearly Maryland. It's in Maryland.
- 5:01You you should be allowed to vote for a Maryland senator if
- 5:05you want. Yeah.
- 5:07Who are you to tell me? No, bitch, I don't know.
- 5:12I'm I'm I'm willing to fight for these people.
- 5:14I'm willing to fight other people more.
- 5:17I'm willing to fight somebody like fisticuffs, if you will.
- 5:22OK. I'm willing to get rowdy more so
- 5:24than I am to say fight for someone.
- 5:27I'm just like, throw me in a ring with somebody, I will fight
- 5:30them. I'm just kind of gassed up
- 5:34today. I'm ready.
- 5:35OK, let's tussle. All right, let's tussle.
- 5:39House of Representative person from Washington.
- 5:45Washington. Why do they not get to vote?
- 5:48In any of the votes it would be. They get to vote for federal,
- 5:51but there's no yeah, yeah, but they can't, they can't vote.
- 5:54For I thought they couldn't even do that.
- 5:56I was like Dang. Well, no.
- 5:57They can vote for federal but they can't vote for a fucking
- 6:00senators or or whatever and who? What senators?
- 6:05And that's what they do. The senators and the House of
- 6:08Representatives vote, determine the federal laws.
- 6:13Yeah. That's taxation without
- 6:15representation. And it's so fair.
- 6:16This representative is not part of the federal House of
- 6:19Representatives. They don't.
- 6:20She. Yeah, she is.
- 6:22She is. Or is she part of like?
- 6:25So how you have state politicians?
- 6:27Her so OK her name is still Eleanor Holmes Norton.
- 6:30She belongs to the House of Representatives.
- 6:33She is a non voting delegate. Well that makes no sense.
- 6:36Yep, that's why it's bullshit. Yeah, that, that is.
- 6:40That's crazy. She can advocate for the
- 6:42district but can't cast votes on the House floor.
- 6:46Oh and sorry, they also have two shadow senators in the fucking
- 6:51and it went a shadow representative.
- 6:53What? The hell?
- 6:55But they can't vote, OK. Stupid.
- 6:58They have. No, they have no representation.
- 7:01But they're being taxed like a state.
- 7:03Yeah, and it's not. Fair, not cool.
- 7:07Not cool. Washington, DC.
- 7:09Wow. Huh.
- 7:13Well, you know, yeah. I didn't realize they had like,
- 7:16you know, shadow, whatever. I didn't realize they had.
- 7:18Some I'm learning. I learned right to go just now.
- 7:21'Cause they're not a state, so I didn't think they had anybody
- 7:23interesting. They have, they've been pushing
- 7:25for a full voting representation and statehood despite being
- 7:28ineligible for senators due to its non state status.
- 7:30Wow. I think they should get
- 7:32representation. You're in the fucking
- 7:34continental United States. What do you mean it's not a
- 7:37state you like? It was.
- 7:39It was a state and then you chopped it up and said this is
- 7:43the capital now, Yeah, guess what?
- 7:47Everybody who's in the Vatican fucking votes for the Pope.
- 7:51No, they don't. Could you imagine?
- 7:58I was like, what the fuck is she talking about?
- 8:03I meant I meant like the Cardinals and shit that are in
- 8:06there. Holy shit.
- 8:10I realize I it didn't like it took a second for you.
- 8:16I don't, No they don't. For me to also go.
- 8:18Oh, I go. To other people besides
- 8:20Cardinals in the bad kid, yes there are.
- 8:25Oh man. What's important is that it's
- 8:28bullshit and I don't know, somebody's got it on the license
- 8:31plate. They've every single, their
- 8:33license plate says end taxation without representation.
- 8:36Go fuck yourself. They don't actually say that
- 8:38last bit, but I think they should.
- 8:39Have fuck yourself. I think they'd get some shit
- 8:41done around here. I think they.
- 8:43Would. Oh my gosh.
- 8:45I've got to get the word out. OK, I can't believe it.
- 8:48I can't believe it's not butter. You butter.
- 8:52Believe it. Oh, hang on.
- 8:54That's the whole thing. We actually should unpack that
- 8:56sometime. Yeah.
- 8:57Hang on. Hold back.
- 8:58Hold back. Save the button.
- 9:00What's the sauce? Sambal Olek.
- 9:05What? I thought you're just like
- 9:08speaking in a whole. Nother language there tongues.
- 9:11Yeah, no sambal, sambal olek. I'm sure that I'm I'm not saying
- 9:17that like well, but it's a real sauce.
- 9:21Actually, it's cooked with it. Named after the olek, mortar and
- 9:25pestle used to grind them, it's a versatile condiment often used
- 9:28as base for other sauces, marinade, stir fries, or to add
- 9:30heat to soups and noodle dishes, providing pure chili flavor
- 9:34without complex. Added spices.
- 9:37OK. Samba, olek or just olek?
- 9:41Now you know. Well, all right.
- 9:43The more you know you've already learned so much.
- 9:45I have learned so much. And it we're only like.
- 9:48Look at all. The things you've told me 10
- 9:50minutes in. Yeah.
- 9:52OK. We've got them, huh?
- 9:54All right. OK.
- 9:55So we've had covered the beef, we've covered the sauce.
- 9:58We have covered the beef with sauce.
- 10:00We've, you know what? We ended last time saying that
- 10:03we were gonna because we, we finished a, a book.
- 10:09Finley Donovan is killing it. We did finish Finley Donovan is
- 10:14killing it. But we were actually on the
- 10:20second book when we were saying that, and we've since finished
- 10:25the second one as well. We have.
- 10:27We just finished it yesterday. Yeah, what's that one?
- 10:29I finished it. Actually, it's I finished it
- 10:31this morning. Finley Donovan knocks him dead.
- 10:34Yeah, that's the second one, yeah.
- 10:37I like it a lot. A lot.
- 10:38Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was. But so far I've liked both very
- 10:43much. The second one really got me
- 10:47that the very end, I was not, did not see it coming.
- 10:51So that's all I'll say. No spoilers.
- 10:53No spoilers. No spoilers, we haven't really
- 10:54talked about it yet. Oh yeah, so I highly recommend.
- 10:58We checked out the third one already actually.
- 11:00I didn't and cuz I'm fucking around.
- 11:04We're ready to. Go.
- 11:04We're ready to go. I also started, I haven't even
- 11:09told you about this. I also started Vera Vera Wong's
- 11:14advice, Unsolicited advice for murderers.
- 11:23I think I got that right. I think I got that right, but
- 11:26I'm going to pull it up. Vera Wong's unsolicited advice
- 11:29for murderers. OK.
- 11:32It's like a little old lady she's trying to use and she runs
- 11:35a tea shop and a man is found dead in her tea shop and so
- 11:43she's of course got a. OK, OK.
- 11:46I'm like, I don't know, maybe hour and a half, two hours into
- 11:49that or so just because I listened to while I was driving
- 11:52and it's been pretty funny so far.
- 11:54I think you you would like it because you like to watch.
- 11:56OK, It's funny. I love it.
- 11:57You you like to watch the the Chinese K dramas.
- 12:00I say the Chinese K dramas, but you know what I mean?
- 12:02I love to watch those either C dramas or K dramas.
- 12:06Hit me up. J dramas.
- 12:07I've watched those too. But it kind of goes into some,
- 12:10well, maybe I'll give that a listener real quick before we
- 12:13start the third, third book. OK, cool.
- 12:15Yeah. But yeah, because it kind of
- 12:17goes into like Chinese like culture and things like that
- 12:20because she's she's that's interesting where she had San
- 12:23Francisco in Chinatown. Gotcha.
- 12:26So it kind of goes into it's just like a subtle sort of you
- 12:31pick up on her thoughts and how she was raised because this is
- 12:35she was raised in China. And then she wants her son to
- 12:38like, do you know, whatever, because that's that's how she
- 12:41believes things should be. And she's very diligent and ya
- 12:45ya, so you kinda it's really interesting.
- 12:46And then they talk about a lot of the teas and things like
- 12:49that. So it's pretty, pretty cool.
- 12:50So highly, highly recommend that.
- 12:53I'm only an hour and 20 ish minutes or so in but.
- 12:56I'll get. A started, then you'll you'll
- 12:58get caught up. Easy.
- 13:00All right. Well, cool.
- 13:01All right. We've been on a mystery kick.
- 13:04We have been, it's just. But it's OK, it's fine.
- 13:07Yeah, I don't have a problem with.
- 13:09It No, I I love I love figuring things out.
- 13:12I still think, I know that we're not getting any spoilers for the
- 13:16second Finley Donovan book, but I think that I figured out
- 13:22something that they haven't actually confirmed yet.
- 13:28We you know what I'm talking about.
- 13:30OK, yes, yes, yes. We both suspect the same thing.
- 13:33I suspect, I suspect who is a bad guy.
- 13:36We do suspect someone of being a bad guy.
- 13:37Of being a bad guy. And that's not confirmed.
- 13:39You're right, right? Right, because they've trying to
- 13:42throw us off the trail. I think they are and make us
- 13:45think that it's not actually them.
- 13:46And I'm like, it's either them or it's them with an accomplice.
- 13:49There is no other way that's I I'm like there's no way.
- 13:53It's really. Weird because have you ever read
- 13:55a book like OK, I think it's easier when if you if you watch
- 14:00a movie and a character come is introduced into to the movie.
- 14:04I think it's easier to get a vibe off that person, that
- 14:07character, when it's like a movie because immediately you
- 14:10can sometimes can tell like OK, I'm getting a bad vibe.
- 14:13Yeah, from this person. They walk in the Thunder.
- 14:20Exactly so, but I think in a book.
- 14:23Not quite as easy. You don't always get that
- 14:25immediate like not getting a good vibe from this or this is
- 14:28suspicious or I agree, whatever. Now we've been breeding
- 14:31mysteries, or a lot. Lately, so maybe that's why,
- 14:34because as soon as this character was introduced, I was
- 14:36like suspicious. There's a suspicious.
- 14:37Well, so I mean, for me, I look at a book, a mystery, and a lot
- 14:45of them are formulaic, which is fine.
- 14:47You know, yes, there's but there's usually like A twist.
- 14:50Now what that twist is, I don't I you know, I may not know what
- 14:54that twist is going to be sure, but when I'm.
- 14:56Looking something like the pieces start to fall into place
- 14:59and it's like, well, that's obvious.
- 15:00Like no, it's too obvious because there's they have to
- 15:03have a true twist and that's true.
- 15:04They need to have obvious then then I kind of second guess
- 15:09myself because sometimes it actually then is kind of just
- 15:12that obvious. It just depends.
- 15:12Yeah, yeah, so but but they also.
- 15:17When you're in a when you're in a, a story like that and reading
- 15:21the everyone in my family has killed someone and everyone on
- 15:23this train is a suspect and all those ones.
- 15:26He lays out what the rules of a fair play mystery are.
- 15:30And I think that these books would probably fall into that
- 15:32category of a fair play mystery. And it's like, you need to
- 15:35introduce the killer early enough that it's like, that's
- 15:39OK. That's like a main character
- 15:41that we've been seeing this whole book.
- 15:42And you need to introduce the victim and they need to, you
- 15:45know, the whole thing's going to tie together.
- 15:47And, you know, it's not, it's not say, fair air quotes to
- 15:52introduce somebody all the way at the end.
- 15:54It's like, well, it was so and so the whole time.
- 15:57It's like, well how the fuck as the reader would I ever know
- 16:00that? Would I ever know that?
- 16:01And so using, using those rules, assuming that this is following
- 16:05that I know, right? Or, you know, every time they
- 16:10introduce a new character, there's a chance that that's
- 16:12that this is our bad guy, true. And so we know.
- 16:16Or a red herring. That's the thing, you know,
- 16:18right? We someone to throw you off to
- 16:20make you be suspicious and then exactly it's not them the whole
- 16:24time. Exactly.
- 16:25We know that it's not Finley. We know that it's probably not
- 16:28her good friend slash nanny, right?
- 16:32Vero. Vero, who's living, Who's living
- 16:34with her, and I hate her fucking ex-husband.
- 16:38Steven, Steven, Steven. But you're right, he's never.
- 16:41The best, but it's usually it's probably not him because he's
- 16:43just too stupid. Right, it's true.
- 16:46You know, and, and she has a sister who's a cop and, and
- 16:49things like that. So it's like these people were
- 16:52introducing me, but I don't think it's any.
- 16:53Of that basic, basic same characters that are in each book
- 16:56that you can rule out and then yeah.
- 16:58Then you you've got a love interest, True.
- 17:00True, True. True.
- 17:02So then it's like from there on, especially when we're a sequel,
- 17:04we've got our established cast, all those people decide.
- 17:07Every single new person that comes in.
- 17:09I'm like, who is? It gonna be yeah, legit so.
- 17:14Yeah, so I, I think, I think that I'm right that that guy's a
- 17:17bad guy, even though they're really trying to convince me
- 17:20that they're not with evidence. And I won't.
- 17:24And I won't stand for it. True, if you like a an audio
- 17:27book, I like this. I like the reader of these, the
- 17:30narrator, whatever you want to call them.
- 17:32The reader would be. Is it called the narrator?
- 17:36Yeah. I like her a lot.
- 17:37I think she's doing a great job and so highly.
- 17:39Come in and check out the Finley Donovan series.
- 17:41It's fun. It's really fun.
- 17:42I do have excellent news to tell you, exciting news.
- 17:45Oh, that I just heard about today.
- 17:47Gasp. OK, We are big Cardinals fans
- 17:50and major fans of Yahty Molina. Oh, yes.
- 17:54We love Yahty. If you don't know who he is,
- 17:56played catcher for the Cardinals for many years, and we love him.
- 18:00OK, Retired. What, two years ago?
- 18:02Oh my gosh, probably, probably two or three.
- 18:05At least two or three. He was hired today by the
- 18:09Cardinals organization as the special assistant to the
- 18:13president of baseball operations.
- 18:15I hope you can. Whatever that means.
- 18:17I hope. You can turn this shit.
- 18:18Around yeah, I'm like bring it on, get Yadi in there, let's
- 18:22turn it around. We need a we need a World Series
- 18:24team on the field. It's been too long, been too
- 18:28long. So Congrats to Yadi.
- 18:30Congrats to us because we love him and I'm happy that he's
- 18:34working for us and not some other team right.
- 18:36So that's that was exciting news today.
- 18:38I was pretty excited about that. Then a quick update.
- 18:42I also I also have a exciting update too so.
- 18:45OK, you want to go? You want me to go?
- 18:48OK, this is really quick. Do you know the the cats that
- 18:53are hired of the Japan Railway? System.
- 18:56Yes, I told you about this. Yes.
- 18:58Oh my God. Yeah, Japan Railway Station
- 19:00appoints Jan Tama as the third feline station master.
- 19:08Oh my, look at him, little hat, look at.
- 19:12John Tama YONTAMA, the third feline station master, is so
- 19:18freaking cute. So keep it up, Japan.
- 19:21We love it. Keep us informed about the if
- 19:24you feel like. You don't.
- 19:26If you don't recall or you weren't listening at the time,
- 19:28they start with Tama. Yep, who was who just kind of
- 19:32like hung out at the station. And they kind of adopted him,
- 19:35yeah, they fed him. Hurry.
- 19:37Oh, sorry. What?
- 19:38That one was a hurry, right? He was a little girl and, and
- 19:40yeah, and they, they sort of adopted her and then they
- 19:43appointed her. She's got a whole.
- 19:46Wiki and it says under occupation station master,
- 19:50station master. She has since passed away
- 19:53though. 2015 correct? She was 16.
- 19:55She was 16. Nice, nice old age there for for
- 19:59Tama. And then did her, did a another
- 20:04cat took over. There's there's.
- 20:06Been a few. So there was Neetama, who if I'm
- 20:12not mistaken, I believe Neetama, which is basically Tama 2, was
- 20:18sent to be trained at a different station.
- 20:23And then they were like, we're not giving her back.
- 20:25That's true. That's true.
- 20:26They kept her. You're right.
- 20:29So then they they got Son Tama Tama who was basically Tama 3.
- 20:34Right, so, so do you think Yon Tama is Tama four?
- 20:38Well, even though she's official, he's officially or
- 20:40she, I'm not sure if it's a she or he doesn't say is officially
- 20:44the third feline station master. It might be at that at that
- 20:49station. Because I think out it says
- 20:51Japan railway station. So it's maybe if there's
- 20:53multiple, there's multiple stations clearly because there's
- 20:57also a there's also a Yon Tama because you're right, the other
- 20:59one didn't wouldn't. They want to give her back.
- 21:02They love her so much. They're like got to drive her
- 21:05from our cold dead hands. We're keeping NI tama.
- 21:07I had to say this. I could tell you I find it
- 21:09hilarious. I love that but there's also a
- 21:11Yontama which I think is this one but but there's just a
- 21:14different one from 20170. Yontama was an 8 month old
- 21:19calico and introduces NI tama subordinate at that other.
- 21:23Station. OK, OK.
- 21:24OK, then. There was Gotama which is Tama
- 21:275. Subordinate to knee Tama and
- 21:32work and would work two days at Kishi station and two days at
- 21:37Edux. They're sharing him and then
- 21:40Roku Tama, which is Tama 6. I love how they each get they
- 21:45just give the number in front. I'm dead.
- 21:48Well, maybe this maybe this is an old announcement.
- 21:50I really don't know. I just happened to see it and so
- 21:52he saved it 'cause I was like what yes, another another.
- 21:55So they're keeping the keeping the the feline station masters
- 21:58alive. I love it.
- 21:59I highly recommend if you haven't seen photos of of OG
- 22:03Tama at their like induction ceremony and I'm showing you a
- 22:07photo look in her little garb in her little outfit.
- 22:12We already shared photos of this so we ain't doing it again.
- 22:15That's not true. I don't know, I don't.
- 22:17I'm not in charge of the of the photos.
- 22:20But. That's excellent.
- 22:23That's right. So so maybe you'll look up more
- 22:27photos of Tama, Tama 2 and Tama 3456 and so.
- 22:31On I'll keep. I'll look for.
- 22:33Her keep on keeping on we'll. Do an update.
- 22:35OK, what was your, what was your update?
- 22:37Our girl Taylor Swift. OK, she was up.
- 22:44She was nominated for the Songwriter Hall of Fame, yes,
- 22:48which is like a very big honor. Yes, I do recall this.
- 22:51When you get nominated, you pick 5 songs that you've written and
- 22:54you send them in and then they look through it and they decide
- 22:57if they're gonna let you in. Oh no, I don't think this is
- 23:00like a once one and you're or you're done, right?
- 23:03But agreed, you know. So she this was a while ago.
- 23:08She sent in her song for love story Blank Space all too well,
- 23:1210 minute version. OK, the last Great American
- 23:14dynasty, which is off of lover and antihero good nights.
- 23:19OK, and it came out today that she was inducted into she goes
- 23:26she's she's the youngest woman ever to be ever.
- 23:29Congrats. So I mean a little proper, like
- 23:31poops. Yay.
- 23:33Congrats to JJ. We're happy for.
- 23:35Her well deserved. Well deserved.
- 23:38We have. We have both agreed that she is
- 23:42an absolute to poet and can really write some some amazing
- 23:47lyrics, so good for her. That's very exciting.
- 23:50She's, she was the youngest winner of the Songwriters Hall
- 23:54of Fame Hal David Award. She's, she's won a bunch of the
- 23:59awards that they have and whatnot.
- 24:00And so then she was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame
- 24:05today, so. That's awesome.
- 24:09Well, I haven't prepared a little bit of a game if you want
- 24:12to or challenge maybe for you. I saw on Smosh I don't know if
- 24:18anybody watches Smosh on YouTube, but the the one girl
- 24:23turns out didn't really know animals names of animals really
- 24:27well and so they were making up an animal name and then like
- 24:31giving her two real animals and then a fake one and then she had
- 24:33to pick out the fake one and because.
- 24:36But I can't do that with you because you know your animals.
- 24:39You know your animals, although. You could get, you could get
- 24:41really specific, but then it's just a crapshoot.
- 24:43Sure. So I thought, let's try it with
- 24:46musicals. Broadway Musicals.
- 24:48Yeah, because I know musicals, but maybe not as many as as.
- 24:51You guys so I've seen a lot of musicals in my time but I will
- 24:55say there are a lot of musicals and there's still a lot I have
- 25:00not seen correct. So I have compiled a list I'll
- 25:05give you 2 real ones and one fake one OK and you tell me the
- 25:09fake one OK OK here we go. I kind of went alphabetically.
- 25:13I don't know why, I just thought it would be kind of fun.
- 25:15So here we go. OK, all my children, anyone can
- 25:21whistle or or and I don't know which way we go here all about
- 25:26me. Two of those are real musicals
- 25:32and one of those is 1 I made-up. OK, Can you give me, can I hear
- 25:35them again? All my children, anyone can
- 25:39whistle all about me. She's thinking really hard.
- 25:47I'm going to go with Anyone can whistle wrong.
- 25:50I fucking knew it. I was like, that one sounds so
- 25:52stupid. That one's way that's going to
- 25:54be real. That's going to be real.
- 25:56Which one is it? All My Children, which is a soap
- 25:58opera. Back in the day I was like, I
- 26:00knew that that sounded legit familiar.
- 26:03That was a soap opera. I was like, maybe they talked
- 26:05about it. OK, here we go.
- 26:08Oh. My.
- 26:08Children. Bloody, bloody Andrew Jackson,
- 26:13the boy that. Was Oz.
- 26:14That was my nickname in high school.
- 26:17Bloody, bloody, interjects the boy that.
- 26:21Was not always they just call my bloody.
- 26:23Bloody AJ blood the AJ The boy from Oz or baby, it's cold
- 26:29outside. OK, Buddy interjects and The boy
- 26:39from Oz or baby, it's cold outside.
- 26:45Let's go with the boy from Oz. Incorrect.
- 26:48Oh my fuck. Baby, it's cold outside.
- 26:50Not a musical. That is the song.
- 26:54I know it's a fucking song, but it was not made into a musical.
- 26:58I don't know why I'm writing these down.
- 26:59I'm writing down the I. Know I got to write down I know.
- 27:01OK Next up I'm sure. Next up OK Camelot, Candy Land
- 27:08or chess. She looks really disgusted.
- 27:13Taking my glasses, I didn't give me a layup, she's let me throw
- 27:18it in. No cats fun.
- 27:23Home ones I haven't given her any that she's.
- 27:26Not a single. You know Disney's classic Chess
- 27:29the Musical? I didn't imagine.
- 27:34I've never seen. I take that back.
- 27:36I have seen one of these. You've seen one of these.
- 27:40I have, but it's been a long time.
- 27:43OK, Candyland, chess and Camelot.
- 27:46Just guess I'm going with Candyland because Ding Ding Ding
- 27:55Ding. OK, I was like, I'm almost
- 27:57certain Camelot is real. I.
- 27:59Think that is real? That's the one I've seen.
- 28:01Between chess and Candyland, I was like, there's no fucking way
- 28:07chess. Chess could be never seen.
- 28:09It chess could be about Bobby Fischer or, or one of the, you
- 28:14know, great chess masters, or it could be the fucking pieces or
- 28:18dancing around and singing. I don't know.
- 28:20That's true. That's true.
- 28:22I don't know. But what I do know is that ain't
- 28:24fucking Candyland. It's not.
- 28:26You think you fucking you? Think I'm going to have to look
- 28:28up chess musicals to see what it's about because that's I have
- 28:30no idea. I've never seen it, I know.
- 28:32I'm like, I'm like, you think? You think that?
- 28:34Fucking what? What do you call it?
- 28:36The Sugar Plum Fairy. Mr. Mint, OK, what's the what's
- 28:42the ice cream ice cream chick? There's an ice cream the ice
- 28:45cream chick. I can't remember her name
- 28:48because they changed them when you the game different from the
- 28:50game when I was like. Frostine, Yes.
- 28:52Queen Frostine. Queen Frostine.
- 28:54I I was trying to think you make a musical out of Candyland the
- 28:57hell you could. I was.
- 28:59I was Googling and trying to. It would be awesome.
- 29:02When I say what was the Sugar Plum Fairy, that's not actually
- 29:05Kenny Lang's character. I was trying to think of Lord
- 29:07Licorice. Oh, OK, OK 'cause you did not
- 29:10want to land on Lord Licorice. No, he's a bad dude, Yeah.
- 29:12Yes, my favorite though as an adult is definitely grandma nut.
- 29:21GRAMMA, grandma nuts Nutt grandma nut.
- 29:27She has some fucking peanut brown.
- 29:30OK, Grim. The.
- 29:32I wasn't prepared for that. All right, You ready to move on?
- 29:35Yeah. The next three.
- 29:37Ready. All right, Here we go.
- 29:38Drama, Mama. Damn Yankees or disaster with an
- 29:43exclamation point. Drama Mama.
- 29:45Yes, you're right. Get better.
- 29:47You're right. OK, Next up.
- 29:50OK, Elf. OK.
- 29:52Everyday rapture. OK, or eggs over my ham.
- 29:56OK, now I know that ELF is real. I'll give you that one, yes.
- 30:02So the options are between everyday rapture or eggs over
- 30:09Miami. Are you sure it's that eggs over
- 30:13Miami? Not that that would be make any
- 30:15more sense. Miami, Miami, Everyday Rapture.
- 30:27It's got to be everyday Rap show.
- 30:28I was like the sound so fucking stupid.
- 30:32It is no way that that's real. It's a menu items.
- 30:35It's a menu item at Denny's. Son of a bitch.
- 30:41Denny's. Denny's when I get my hands on
- 30:45you, don't you, Denny's? Take that off the fucking menu.
- 30:47Just call it eggs and ham. Don't call it no eggs over my
- 30:51handy. Shut the fuck up.
- 30:53I'm dead. Get.
- 30:54Out. OK.
- 30:55OK. You ready?
- 30:56I couldn't be more ready. OK, she's ready.
- 30:58OK. Fright night first date or
- 31:02Finian's rainbow? Fright night, first date.
- 31:10Finian's rainbow. Correct.
- 31:13Let's go. A first date.
- 31:15Nope, it was Fright Night. That is the fake.
- 31:17One, I was hoping that that one was real.
- 31:19No, that one is fake. I know I was honestly, I was
- 31:22like, it's between one of those two because whatever the fucking
- 31:24third one was was stupid enough to be real true.
- 31:26And so I was really trying. I haven't seen either one of
- 31:29those. Musicals.
- 31:31OK. By the way, just FYI, I got the
- 31:34information on the Candyland characters from the Candyland
- 31:36wiki, which apparently exists. There's an entire Candyland.
- 31:39There is a whole I bet. Candyland.
- 31:41Do they have the old characters on there from when I was a kid?
- 31:44I don't know. I can see the characters from
- 31:46when. I was a kid.
- 31:47Yeah, OK, OK. But I don't know about you.
- 31:51OK, interesting. OK, we could say I liked the
- 31:54artwork on when I from my set of Candyland.
- 31:58I see All right, moving on. I don't have you noticed what
- 32:00I've been doing like alphabetically, like everything
- 32:02starts with the same letter I so we're on to G OK, OK Groundhog
- 32:07Day green goddess or Gypsy green goddess.
- 32:17Correct. That's what sound addressing.
- 32:26I well, here's the thing. Just because something is
- 32:29something else doesn't mean that that.
- 32:30That's true. OK, Groundhog.
- 32:32Day is a fucking movie. It's a movie that they made it
- 32:34to a musical. It's true.
- 32:35A lot of movies been made and I don't even.
- 32:36Remember the third one you said was Gypsy?
- 32:39I knew Gypsy. OK, I did know Gypsy.
- 32:42Here we go. OK, horseshoe.
- 32:47Hands on a hard body. High society horseshoe.
- 32:54Damn it. Yes, you're kidding me.
- 32:55Now you know why I said horseshoe?
- 32:57Because we were talking today about going to up to Chatham,
- 33:01IL, which is near Springfield. And you know what's in
- 33:05Springfield? Darcy's pint.
- 33:08The home of I was like the home of my the home of my favorite
- 33:12horseshoe. I've got horseshoe on the brain.
- 33:17The home of my. Favorite horse?
- 33:19If you're ever in Springfield, IL, go to Darcy's Pint.
- 33:22I hope it's still there. Haven't been up there since
- 33:24probably live graduate high school because she used to have
- 33:25a bowling tournament in Springfield every year and while
- 33:28the kids went to lunch, your dad and I went over to Darcy's and
- 33:30we got a horseshoe and it was super yummy.
- 33:33Where the hell had the white squirrels?
- 33:34Olney Olney, IL Olney Olney. OK, here we go.
- 33:39Next up. I'm ready, Irene.
- 33:44It should have been you, inside out, upside down.
- 33:51Oh, my phone got. I think Irene is real.
- 33:56Come on, Irene. Come on, Irene.
- 33:59Come on, Eileen. OK, Inside upside down or
- 34:05whatever the fuck the other one was.
- 34:06Let's just go inside out. Upside down.
- 34:08Dang, you're right. Complete shot in the dark.
- 34:10Complete shot in the dark. That was a good one and I just
- 34:13couldn't fucking remember the other we've got.
- 34:14Me. It should have been you.
- 34:17It should have been you. All right, here we go.
- 34:20Junk mail. OK, Jekyll and Hyde or Jersey
- 34:25Boys. It's junk mail.
- 34:28I know that the other two. I knew the other two.
- 34:30Damn, now you got me. You're on a roll.
- 34:31I know you're on a roll. Cooking.
- 34:33Right now I'm fucking cooking. I only did the first half of the
- 34:35alphabet, so I just went to I'm. Dying because I looked at Chess.
- 34:41The musical Chess is a musical with music by Benny Anderson and
- 34:45Bjorn Veyas of of ABBA. Oh legit OK and lyrics by Tim
- 34:51Rice. Who knows?
- 34:53Set during the Cold War, using a World chess championship as a
- 34:56backdrop for a love triangle between an American grandmaster,
- 34:59A Soviet grandmaster, and a Hungarian American woman caught
- 35:02between them, this sounds kind of serious.
- 35:08Well, it's also and it's and it's a musical.
- 35:10But it's going to be a sad 1. You know, some musicals are sad.
- 35:13I don't know. Some are happy, some are fun,
- 35:15some are goofy, some are terrible.
- 35:17The story explores The story explores themes of politics.
- 35:21Yeah. Politics, ambition and betrayal
- 35:24with iconic songs like One Night in Bangkok and OK and I Know Him
- 35:29So Well, OK. Then here's the thing, the music
- 35:33from a musical can be absolute bangers.
- 35:35It can be awesome music, but the story can be like, kind of a
- 35:39bummer, you know, or especially for me personally, if it's super
- 35:44sad, then I'm like, OK, a hard pass.
- 35:47You know, like, yeah, like cabaret.
- 35:49Glad I've seen it. Actually.
- 35:51Excellent. Love the music, excellent show.
- 35:54Saw at the Fox. People who put on it, who were,
- 35:55who were in it were incredible. But, you know, you walk out of
- 35:59there really bummed, you know? So apparently.
- 36:02I don't know if this is Off Broadway or whatever, but it was
- 36:05Aaron Tovet. Tovet, I know he looks like he
- 36:08was in rent, but that don't put me on that.
- 36:11Nicholas Christopher, whoever that is, and Leah Michelle, who
- 36:14you probably. Go by name, okay?
- 36:17But. So that's kind of more of a
- 36:18newer 1 then maybe? Well, no prettier 19. 86 Then
- 36:22it's got a revival. Yeah, it says.
- 36:23It got a revival. Got mobile revivals?
- 36:26Gotcha okay okay cool. I'm glad they do revivals
- 36:28because it's awesome. It brings back some older ones.
- 36:30Just the fucking chess the musical.
- 36:32I don't know, but it's really just chess the musical.
- 36:34It's, you know, just the bucket. Just the bucket musical that
- 36:37that's a whole different. Story it's a said it's a love
- 36:40triangle well. Then you're not wrong.
- 36:43All right? I got letter K for you.
- 36:45You ready? I'm ready.
- 36:47All right, here we go. Kismet.
- 36:50Kit Kat. Kiss of the Spider Woman.
- 36:54OK, I have no idea about any of these.
- 36:56I do know that the word kismet means like fate or destiny
- 37:00because it's used in Taylor Swift song recently so that
- 37:06feels like that could be real. And then what was the other
- 37:08fucking 2? Kit Kat Kiss of the Spider Woman
- 37:17Kit Kat. Damn it.
- 37:20Damn it, you gotta be a good. I was like, very.
- 37:23I was like. That one was weak.
- 37:25I couldn't think of anything to serve.
- 37:26OK, it was weak. Kick it.
- 37:28All right, moving on. I only have two more for two
- 37:30more for you. 2 more L&M Ready. OK, here we go.
- 37:34Love bites. Let it be.
- 37:38And love Musk. Love Musk.
- 37:42Wrong. Damn it bites.
- 37:46I was like maybe a vampire one. It could be they actually could
- 37:51make it, make it into. I would say I'd see it.
- 37:54There's an awesome movie that I'm going to have to find it and
- 37:58show it from when we do a redneck drive in because it is
- 38:00love at first bite. Oh, having that love bites can
- 38:04refer to several several things, most commonly an Australian
- 38:08musical by Peter Rutherford and James.
- 38:11It wasn't on my list about romance.
- 38:14A Japanese heavy metal band known for their powerful live
- 38:17shows. The tours.
- 38:18Oh, just kidding, I see. Those are I I misunderstood.
- 38:23You were morphing them all into. One definition, weren't you?
- 38:26I didn't the musical. Was about a Japanese fan.
- 38:30Musical was about a Japanese heavy metal band over their
- 38:32powerful live shows and tours. But then I read or a popular Def
- 38:36Leopard song and I went. I see I misunderstood.
- 38:39I gotta check out this. There's also a lesser known
- 38:43london-based musical by Alan Shaw.
- 38:44So there's two fucking Love Bites musical?
- 38:46That was a trick question then apparently.
- 38:49Oh my gosh, there's a Japanese band, rock band called Love
- 38:54Bites. Yes.
- 38:56I'm going to check them out. I'm going to write that down.
- 38:59OK, All right, Cool, cool. All right, last one.
- 39:02Here we go. Maim Maim, man of La Mancha or
- 39:10Mystery on Mount Kilimanjaro. OK, man of the mancha wrong.
- 39:18No, I'm I'm guessing I was literally about to say that.
- 39:22I was pretty sure that I've heard of that one before.
- 39:25Is something else. I already I already was like
- 39:27pretty certain that one was real.
- 39:28I already knew. So I was just eliminating it for
- 39:31myself. So I you've given me nothing.
- 39:32You've given me nothing. I was so excited.
- 39:36Wrong jumped on that one. OK, and then what?
- 39:41I don't know what he said. The murder of mystery on Mount
- 39:44Kilimanjaro. I said the murder of Mount.
- 39:46Kill that mountain. Kill that mountain.
- 39:51That sounds like it'd be a mystery novel, so I'm going to
- 39:54go with that one. Damn it.
- 39:57You got me. You're good.
- 39:59You got me. Darn.
- 40:01I started off strong. I started off strong.
- 40:03You. Did, but I'm good at recognizing
- 40:04a pattern. Yep, but I ended week.
- 40:06I ended week. Well, I knew some of them, like
- 40:09Elf and Gypsy and stuff like that, so not that many.
- 40:13You knew a couple. And apparently, love bites.
- 40:15Is a fucking musical. So I know.
- 40:18Trick question. That trick question.
- 40:20That's on me, ladies. Hey, let me see that.
- 40:23What are you looking at? I was gonna look at the ones
- 40:25that were fake. The ones that were fake.
- 40:27Yeah, I made. I just made those up.
- 40:29I've top my head. Well, yeah, but so Brandon love
- 40:31bite. She wants to look it up.
- 40:33I I wanna know how how how right I actually was OK I.
- 40:36See all my children? It's a soap opera.
- 40:40Well, I started to tell you about.
- 40:44All My Sons is a three act play. The the what did I just say?
- 40:53The movie called Love at First Bite.
- 40:57I remember watching that when I was a kid, and it was very, very
- 41:03funny. It probably wouldn't hold up
- 41:06today because it's probably not very politically correct.
- 41:09You know what I mean? Right.
- 41:10But it's very, very silly. Yeah.
- 41:15So the you know the, you know the movie Zorro, the gay Blade.
- 41:21Yeah, that's also probably. Not politically correct, but you
- 41:25know it's hilarious, right? It's absolutely.
- 41:27It definitely cracks me up. The guy who plays the Zorro is
- 41:33also in in, in in the first bite.
- 41:37And he plays a vampire. OK, He plays Dracula and the the
- 41:44government of Transylvania appropriates his castle and
- 41:48George, just George Hamilton is the actor he is he is obliged to
- 41:52relocate. I'm looking this up.
- 41:54And he has to. So he decides to go to New York,
- 41:57OK, OK, to what would have been at the time when the movie came
- 42:01out, Modern times, OK. And so he's got to fit in in New
- 42:07York City in 1979, in modern times because the government of
- 42:13Transylvania is like, sick of him.
- 42:14And they're done. And they kick him out.
- 42:16So. And then, you know, silliness,
- 42:18you know, ensues. Silliness ensues.
- 42:20Yeah. And it's very, very, in my
- 42:21opinion, I remember watching this as a kid thinking it was
- 42:23very, very funny. So I'm like, I've got to find
- 42:26this movie and show it at the I'm.
- 42:28Good to watch it, yeah. But honestly I forgot about Zora
- 42:32the gay blade till just I'm like that could be a funny one to
- 42:34show the gay blade show too. That's really hilarious, so.
- 42:38I was gonna what was to my list of possibilities?
- 42:41What was the movie? I I only remember like, I don't
- 42:46know, 1 scene from this movie, but the concept is like there's
- 42:50like a teenage boy and there's a girl vampire and she like bites
- 42:54him and he's slowly turning into vampire.
- 42:56She has to bite him three times and he drinks a whole cup of
- 42:58blood. And she has to and he has to be
- 43:00a virgin or something, right? I don't know, isn't it?
- 43:02Isn't it? I don't know that.
- 43:04I only know that that it's a boy.
- 43:05He has to give it three times and there's a scene that like
- 43:07the mom is like, isn't it? I don't know.
- 43:10I don't know. This is what I'm asking because
- 43:12I know you know, because it was on TV once when I was much
- 43:15younger and and you were talking about this movie and you're I'm
- 43:18like, what the fuck is going on? I didn't say fuck at the time
- 43:21because I was, I was a little wee lad.
- 43:25And but you are like, like she's gonna bite in three times.
- 43:29So he's slowly turning into a vampire.
- 43:31So he's like craving blood and such.
- 43:32And the mom was like cooking his mom.
- 43:35It's like cooking, you know, steak, whatever.
- 43:36So she like pours the blood off of the thing into like a cup.
- 43:40Whatever. And he goes in there and drinks.
- 43:43And I'm sorry, listeners, if if you're getting grossed out or
- 43:46finished by this, yeah. Lauren hunting Jim Carrey in
- 43:49Once Bitten came out in 1985. Gotcha.
- 43:53Yes, hilarious. Do you know?
- 43:55And she has to be a virgin. And so that's how he gets away
- 43:57from he has to, you know, do the deeds so that you can't bite him
- 44:01anymore. Gotcha.
- 44:02Do you know that? OK, I don't know.
- 44:08I brought this up with listener Erica because I knew that she
- 44:13has seen the movies and read the books for Twilight.
- 44:17OK, OK, now you've not read the books, but you've seen the
- 44:19movies. Seen all the movies?
- 44:20OK Jacob Kayla Waters character. Yes, what would you say?
- 44:26He is a werewolf, right? Wrong.
- 44:31I'm right. Wrong that that makes sense.
- 44:33I understand why you would say that.
- 44:35You're wrong. Why?
- 44:37Apparently he's not a werewolf. So we're watching the show.
- 44:42Well, actually when they call, well, hold on, I'm getting
- 44:44there. So we're watching the show on
- 44:46actually. And like, they give this whole
- 44:47spiel and it's like, I think I was telling you about how it was
- 44:51like, like they were doing the whole thing of like, he imprints
- 44:56on the baby and blah, blah, blah, all this kind of stuff.
- 44:58And it's like, that's guy with the fake parts.
- 45:00Like, Nope, that part's true. The fake part was that he's a
- 45:03werewolf. He's apparently not a werewolf.
- 45:05At some point in the books they established that werewolves
- 45:10exist, but that they are shape shifters and they can shape
- 45:16shift into wolves. Now to me, a shapeshifter that
- 45:20can shapeshift into a fucking wolf is just known as a.
- 45:23Werewolf or. Apparently.
- 45:26Are they elsewhere in in the world?
- 45:29There are werewolves that are just, you know, the mercy of the
- 45:32moon, if you will. OK, so so OK, we don't need this
- 45:35Batman. OK, Can they shape shift into
- 45:38anything else or just wolves? Those guys can only do wolves.
- 45:42They can only do wolves, OK. And I know from me watching the
- 45:46movies, you can tell me tell me if this is inaccurate or not,
- 45:50but that it's like they hit like a certain age and then it starts
- 45:54happening and it doesn't happen their whole lives.
- 45:55They get hit like it's almost like a puberty thing where they
- 45:58hit a certain age and all of a sudden they can start shifting.
- 46:02You're talking about like the Jacobs, the Twilight.
- 46:05Yes and no. It's like they, they, it's like
- 46:09triggered in them when there's a lot of vampires nearby.
- 46:13So in the fourth, well, they bring, they bring all their
- 46:15friends in because they're going to stand up to the Volturi.
- 46:17And because more and more vampires are arriving, more and
- 46:20more of the people start shifting and changing and what
- 46:24not. They are dependent on vampires
- 46:26to shift. They can't just spontaneously
- 46:30shift. I'm sure that they that some
- 46:33like, you know, a couple, a handful of them can.
- 46:36But they're not dependent on the moon.
- 46:39The moon cycle has nothing to do with.
- 46:40It nothing to do with it. Once they gain the ability to
- 46:43shift shapeshift, they can do whatever they want.
- 46:48Yeah, like they you they have like their pack leader or
- 46:53whatever that eventually becomes.
- 46:54Jacob's spoiler. We're beyond the statue of
- 46:57limitations. We're OK with that, yes.
- 46:58On twilight eventually becomes Jacob and went on.
- 47:01They can like hear in each other's heads and things like
- 47:03that. And they kind of have to listen
- 47:07to that person more or less. OK, unless you want to challenge
- 47:10the pack. Right?
- 47:11Exactly. But when they, I don't know,
- 47:14they're true love, whatever and they lock eyes or whatever, they
- 47:17imprint. They imprint.
- 47:18They basically stay the same age until they're even basically
- 47:23kind of thing. And then they'll age together.
- 47:25So Jacob imprints on the baby Renesme, which is, by the way, I
- 47:31hate that name. Worst name ever for a character
- 47:34in in a book movie. Take a pic.
- 47:36Yeah he imprints on her when she's a baby and so he time
- 47:40halts for him. He doesn't age.
- 47:42No, she's. Admittedly aging like years.
- 47:44She then ages like crazy fast because she's a hybrid.
- 47:47But human opinion Here's my thing.
- 47:50Like in what way we see her. She's like.
- 47:53I have no 678, something like that or whatever with him and
- 47:57it's like, oh, OK, it's Vanessa. No, she's still mentally like a
- 48:02six month old, you know what I mean?
- 48:04Is she though? Well, I mean, she's only six
- 48:06months. Old, but her brain's got to
- 48:08develop with her body. I don't know how the brain works
- 48:12otherwise you're she. Becomes an adult and suddenly
- 48:16she can't, you know, still needs diapers.
- 48:18That's what I'm saying. So I think her brain is going to
- 48:20develop with. I don't know.
- 48:21I mean I think it's what's assumed, but realistically like
- 48:24I mean even if she's like 2 years old and completely an
- 48:27adult, she's still like a 2 year old.
- 48:30Well, yeah, Age wise, yes. Mentally, probably not,
- 48:34otherwise that would be fucked up.
- 48:37Cuz that would be gross. If he's, then we'll start with
- 48:39the whole thing is. Weird.
- 48:40It is weird. It's weird, the whole.
- 48:42Thing is terrible, yeah. It's weird.
- 48:45There's no justice in this world.
- 48:46The stories don't start off bad. But yeah, that was not not the
- 48:50best way to end. Did we ever tell the story about
- 48:52about seeing that third movie, the last movie in theaters?
- 48:56Have we told that story? In it's the fourth movie.
- 48:58Sorry, 4th movie. Yeah, cuz they split the last
- 49:00one into two because that was a thing to do at the time.
- 49:02It's true, they'd done it for several now.
- 49:06I don't know. We'll have to.
- 49:09We'll ask the listeners, then we'll get back to you.
- 49:11But. OK, we'll get back.
- 49:13I was like, I don't know how much time, how much time we have
- 49:15left. I think not enough that I feel
- 49:20like I'm. We could do a justice.
- 49:22Hold back. Hold back and say exactly.
- 49:24OK, OK, I'll hold back. Maybe we'll have Sam on and she
- 49:27can also give her two cents because she was also.
- 49:29There. That was the whole thing too.
- 49:30That was the whole thing. You're right.
- 49:31You're right. OK, we'll hold back and say.
- 49:32Well, so here's the thing. So yes, there are werewolves in
- 49:36Twilight. I googled this but the main wolf
- 49:39characters like Jacob Black in his pack are technically.
- 49:43Not they're not. Werewolves.
- 49:45Quiliute. Quiliute I'm not really sure.
- 49:48Shape shifters, A distinct group from air quotes True werewolves
- 49:53or Children of the Moon, also mentioned in the series, who are
- 49:56more like traditional uncontrollable werewolves.
- 49:59Feared by the Volturi and haunted to near extinction, the
- 50:02shape shifters transformed into giant wolves protect their
- 50:04people from vampires, while the children of the Moon transform
- 50:07monthly and are more primal. Huh.
- 50:10I And so I asked, I asked Lister, Erica, do you remember
- 50:13them mentioning that ever? And she's like, no.
- 50:17And I'm like me. I didn't think so either, but
- 50:20here we are. Who would have thought?
- 50:22I'm like you've read the books. Does it say that in the?
- 50:25Book they must have at some point, huh?
- 50:29Wow. I mean, like, I, I mean, that's
- 50:30the thing, I guess in the book they mention that there are true
- 50:37werewolves elsewhere. OK, but they don't like, they
- 50:43just never go into details about it.
- 50:46I, I'm never under. I don't like the whole thing is
- 50:49like, oh blah, blah, blah, they're werewolves.
- 50:51No, they're fucking not. Apparently they're not.
- 50:54OK. Well, you know what?
- 50:56I learned all kinds of new stuff today.
- 50:58I'm exciting. I'm I'm shook.
- 51:01I'm shook of cool. I'm sugar I I've never been so
- 51:09confused in my in my life. It's all good now.
- 51:13So what do we? Oh, I know we have to discuss.
- 51:15OK, I think we're coming up on officially two years, 2, two
- 51:22years of serious beat. Oh.
- 51:25Yes, being in tomorrow. It's tomorrow.
- 51:28I'm so sorry. It's in two days.
- 51:29Oh no, it's 123, 24, correct. That's our anniversary date.
- 51:37Yes, it's 12312324. By the time this comes out, it
- 51:40will have passed. Yes, it will be a good call out.
- 51:42So yeah, I was like, wait a shout out.
- 51:44Happy anniversary. Happy anniversary to BV to my
- 51:49serious happy anniversary to Beefy.
- 51:53Neither one of us. Will admit to being move on
- 51:56admit who's BB so we. Only ever wish Beefy a happy
- 52:00anniversary. So, yeah, so exciting times
- 52:05three years. We it's our it's our
- 52:06anniversary. I have a we got some, I got us
- 52:09some little. What do you call those like a
- 52:12key chain? Yeah, with a little hamburger on
- 52:14it to celebrate our anniversary. So so.
- 52:17That's all my little cheeseburger.
- 52:18Backpack now, and maybe after this, we can actually go get
- 52:23some serious beat. This last year, we went out and
- 52:26celebrated. We did.
- 52:27Go get some. We did.
- 52:27You and I went out to Red Robin and they were playing our
- 52:29fucking jams. We were the whole time we were
- 52:31there. We were just at the Red Robin
- 52:33did. You notice the music?
- 52:34I didn't pay attention. We were jibber jabbing the.
- 52:36Whole time the first couple of songs I did because.
- 52:38Last time, last couple times we've been in there were like
- 52:40damn, this Red Robin is playing some.
- 52:41Good. I know you know what it.
- 52:42IS didn't pay attention. To this actually goes she goes.
- 52:46It's because places are now playing music that millennials
- 52:50would have grown up with and and liked and whatnot.
- 52:52Because millennials are like the main base of like your shop.
- 52:56Your money. Spending and things like that.
- 52:58So. Well, and you know what, as the
- 53:00parents of millennials, it appeals to us too, just because
- 53:03we were there, we were listening to your music, obviously, when
- 53:06you were kids. So so I get it checks out.
- 53:08So that's that's the those are the oldies that they're playing
- 53:11now. That's awesome.
- 53:17People. Yeah, it's, it's funny, I can
- 53:19remember the first time when 80s music ended up on Oldies Station
- 53:24and I was like, what the heck, How do you figure?
- 53:28That's not that long ago. And then if you do the math.
- 53:31And it was. Turns out it is a long time.
- 53:33But then it turns out it was. It's forever ago, so.
- 53:38Here's a little quick question for you.
- 53:41I I don't really know why I say this, where I was going with
- 53:43this, but what's your favorite Greek goddess or God?
- 53:47I would also like God go well, that's the quick thing that's I
- 53:52got to like think about it or you know, I'm ready.
- 53:55I know favorite goddess. What do you mean?
- 53:59Ask me about them. Well, here's the thing.
- 54:02I don't know the Greek gods, like, you know the Greek,
- 54:04correct? Like, you're like best friends
- 54:05with the Greek gods and I don't know, I don't know them as much
- 54:11like you do. So it's a little harder for me
- 54:15to say. Here's here's my favorite.
- 54:18Right? Let's see.
- 54:19Let me look at a list here real quick, OK?
- 54:22I know my favorite goddesses and I know my favorite goddesses.
- 54:24You tell me yours and that way I won't use that one.
- 54:26But which one do you want to go with?
- 54:30What my God, God or goddess? I don't care, pick one.
- 54:32OK, favorite goddess. I would.
- 54:34I would go with Artemis. OK.
- 54:37I want to. She's like, we have to swear a
- 54:42thing to never be with men. Like, oh, no, how terrible.
- 54:45We're going to run around barefoot and and and hunt in the
- 54:48woods with the girlies. Like hell yeah.
- 54:51Artemis, that's awesome. Goddess to the moon, let's go.
- 54:54I went to a concert in the group's name is Artemis.
- 54:56Yes, I know because guys to the moon because this this ladies in
- 54:59this group were originally in a bigger group called Luna and it
- 55:03was a whole thing about the moon, whatever.
- 55:04And so when they they had some of them they didn't resign
- 55:08whatever. And so they made this new group
- 55:09Artemis. So they want to kind of keep
- 55:10that theme theme. It's very cool.
- 55:13And so they have like, a lot of like I went to the concert and I
- 55:16had found this pin, like a brooch, brooch, brooch that you
- 55:19wear. And I hated the jacket and a
- 55:21little pal. And it was it was the the bow
- 55:23and arrow. Yeah.
- 55:24And it was with the thing hung off.
- 55:26It was like a heart. It was so cute.
- 55:28Yep, hunting trip with the girlies.
- 55:29Yeah, so, OK, I get that one. That one's excellent.
- 55:32That one's excellent. Yep, love.
- 55:33Her. Her.
- 55:35Her brother is Apollo. He he rides the chariot, brings
- 55:39the sun around here comes the sun.
- 55:41Doo Doo Doo. That's what we can do before we
- 55:43get copyright claimed, OK? And yeah, no, she, she has the
- 55:52shit. I don't remember.
- 55:52It's, it's not worth looking up right now.
- 55:54But she's got the girls that are with her that are like, sworn
- 56:00to, you know, be on the hunt and whatnot with her and such like
- 56:04that. That's actually a big part of
- 56:06one of the Percy Jackson books. I won't talk.
- 56:08I won't say no more about that. Spoilers.
- 56:11All right, all right, but all right, so now who's your
- 56:16favorite great God? I think I know who my great God
- 56:20is that I like. That I would pick.
- 56:22So it's it's tough. OK, I think it's a toss up
- 56:32between 2:00. So in the, in the Percy Jackson
- 56:35books, you know, you have one of the gods is like your parent and
- 56:40whatnot, and you get like different abilities based on,
- 56:46you know, those, you know, whoever your, your parent is.
- 56:50And so Sam and I have had this discussion about like, OK, if we
- 56:52could, if we, you could choose, who would you, who would you
- 56:55want to be your parent? And I don't remember what she
- 56:59chose, but I had gone with Hephaestus at the time,
- 57:06Hephaestus, who is like the Smith.
- 57:09He he makes the the lightning bolts that Zeus uses and things
- 57:12like that, but is apparently so ugly.
- 57:18We got kicked out. So he's not on Mount Olympus.
- 57:23He's technically married to Aphrodite.
- 57:26OK. And I don't know if it's like
- 57:29Alice. I remember it was like Zeus
- 57:31forced Aphrodite to marry him and then she got she's pissy
- 57:36about that. So she she and Aries are always
- 57:38running around together, but she and the Hephaestus are
- 57:42technically supposed to be married.
- 57:44So, you know, sorry Hephaestus for being ugly, but you do get a
- 57:50hot wife. We're happy for you there.
- 57:53But also in in the Percy Jackson like series, his kids are really
- 58:00good inventors and at making things and whatnot.
- 58:03And I always thought that was very cool that they're that he
- 58:05can do cool inventions and shit like that.
- 58:08OK. Yeah, Yeah, I can see how you
- 58:09would like that. So I like that, but I also
- 58:11really like Hermes. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:13Who doesn't? Yeah.
- 58:14Love, love Hermes. Yeah, the the Disney Hercules
- 58:18version of Hermes. He's fun.
- 58:21He's fine. Yeah.
- 58:22One of my least favorite depictions of Hermes ever,
- 58:24because I always thought Hermes was very cool and fun and.
- 58:28Well, they pattern him after the musician on the David Letterman
- 58:32show. Yeah.
- 58:33And who was who was kind of a cool dude.
- 58:35Yeah. Whatever.
- 58:36So I. Get but that's not that is not
- 58:38who what I have ever pictured when I when I pictured Hermes
- 58:41has got like the caduceus that it's used, you know, for
- 58:43medical, you know, doctors and whatnot.
- 58:47You still that that's still used today and he's the messenger and
- 58:52he's like fast and all this kind of stuff.
- 58:54And that guy is not. He's too goofy.
- 58:58Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. OK.
- 59:00I got mine real quick for we had to sign.
- 59:02I'm writing. I'm going to go for Goddess.
- 59:05I'm going to go Knicks. Oh, OK.
- 59:07Nyx Knicks. First of all, cool.
- 59:10Name the goddess of the of knight.
- 59:15Well, good us buddy, buddy, your night.
- 59:17And I'm the moon legit and I'm like, yeah, I'm a night owl.
- 59:20That's actually really cool. Yeah, and I love that.
- 59:23And I gotta go Apollo for my God, because God of music.
- 59:27Yes. And that's so me, right and the
- 59:29sun. OK, there you go.
- 59:31So now I've got I'm kind of I kind of balance myself out
- 59:33there. Absolutely.
- 59:34That actually works out awesome. Yeah, Knicks is very cool.
- 59:37Yeah, yeah, very cool. Awesome, good call.
- 59:41Although answering this question about like, who's your favorite
- 59:45goddess is the it's like the plot of what is the name of it?
- 59:52Whatever, it doesn't fucking matter.
- 59:55It is the fucking plot of the Trojan War.
- 59:58Oh. OK, like mythologically.
- 1:00:02Yeah, the whole thing, It's. Oh, it is famously detailed in
- 1:00:06the Iliad. Jesus, there he goes.
- 1:00:07Iliad Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my God, It's like a whole
- 1:00:12thing. And they're like, you got to
- 1:00:14pick who's better. Is it like Athena or is it
- 1:00:19Aphrodite? And then it's like, I'm, I'm
- 1:00:21going for like, you know, no matter what the dude says,
- 1:00:25right, it's wrong. It's going to be wrong.
- 1:00:28And then Achilles is out here. He's going to be right.
- 1:00:32And Achilles is trying to have his gay romance and then he's
- 1:00:35going to get caught. God damn it.
- 1:00:39Sad. RIP.
- 1:00:42Oh, yeah. Because Harris fucking around.
- 1:00:44Actually, I don't know which one of them it is.
- 1:00:50I, I shit, one of them's. OK.
- 1:00:54So the judgement of Paris is, is what this is.
- 1:00:58Paris is the guy. These are the events that
- 1:01:01eventually LED up to the the Trojan War.
- 1:01:05And so he heiress, the goddess of discord and whatnot, is not
- 1:01:10invited to the wedding of whoever doesn't matter.
- 1:01:14In revenge, she brings a golden apple inscribed to the fairest
- 1:01:1713 guests, Hera, Athena and Aphrodite, after some dispution,
- 1:01:24agree to have Paris of Troy choose who is the fairest and
- 1:01:28who gets the apple. Yeah.
- 1:01:31And he is, so he's screwed. Yep, yeah, Paris chose Aphrodite
- 1:01:36because she bribed him with Helen of Sparta, who's the most
- 1:01:40beautiful woman in the world, Most beautiful mortal woman, but
- 1:01:44she was already married. So Paris busts in, carries Helen
- 1:01:49off to Troy and and thus the the Trojan War.
- 1:01:54So. Oh, so those fuckers caused all
- 1:01:56that. Yes, yes.
- 1:01:58To Eris, her Pettitus level is akin to Maleficent in the sense
- 1:02:07that she didn't receive an invite and thus decided to make
- 1:02:09it everybody's promise. OK gotcha.
- 1:02:13So what What I'm hearing is you need to invite every Greek.
- 1:02:17Greek God or goddess? Please.
- 1:02:19Or you could start the program. Have enough apples for all of
- 1:02:21them. All right, Well, how about you?
- 1:02:27But this? We're definitely going to need
- 1:02:28some serious beef. And some serious golden apples.
- 1:02:32All right. Happy anniversary.
- 1:02:33Happy anniversary. Bye bye.
