[SPEAKER_00]: are a fun exercise, a way to look at different potential outcomes, and so that's what we've done here today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, so We did execute a trade prior to the start of the draft, which I think is a possibility for the Jax.

[SPEAKER_00]: As our guy, James Ladsstone talked about yesterday when it comes to the draft strategy this year.

[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely think the Jaguars could potentially be in the market for a trade.

[SPEAKER_00]: So James Lazzstone, I thought he had a really good press conference yesterday.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I think on the surface, you would think, okay, you're going to make these picks in 2027, referencing all of the draft capital.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's will recoup from compensatory picks for Devin Lloyd, Travis CTN, and Greg Newsom moving on to different teams.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars are currently slated to have a fourth round pick, a fifth round pick,

[SPEAKER_00]: extra due to those players signing elsewhere.

[SPEAKER_00]: So in reference to that, he said, okay, on the surface you would think you're going to make those picks in 2027, whereas in reality those draft picks and having more of them actually allows you the luxury of remaining in the hunt at different intervals throughout your entire calendar year for acquiring players.

[SPEAKER_00]: You think about training camp a year ago and using a day three pick to acquire a wide receiver in Tim Patrick.

[SPEAKER_00]: You think about ahead of the trade deadline, being able to use two picks on day three to acquire a wider sea of range of coping miles.

[SPEAKER_00]: Without that draft capital, your disposal you may not be as willing or able to relinquish some of those future picks.

[SPEAKER_00]: So by building that up now, it allows us the luxury of remaining with flexibility to do those sorts of things as we move into the next stages of the offseason end into the regular season.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of your 2026 draft picks before the 2026 NFL draft does not fall in line with the whole 2027 convict thing, but it does fall in line with the strategy that Jaguar has had leading into the 2026 NFL draft, which was piling up draft picks, even though they don't have a first round pick, they still have currently five picks in between 56 and 124.

[SPEAKER_00]: We traded one of three third round picks to the Philadelphia Eagles for interior defense of Lyman.

[SPEAKER_00]: Only 23 years old is racking up pressures and sacks, great athlete, great length, big motor, good run defender.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the exact type of player the Jaguars could really use and there are players in this draft.

[SPEAKER_00]: defensive interior, who I think project to be disruptors, people that can get themselves into the backfield quickly with their acceleration and explosiveness and skill.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're projecting that everything you've seen on tape in college can work in the NFL.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they just paid Jordan Davis, $26 million per year, and they're gonna have to pay Jalen Carter at some point too.

[SPEAKER_00]: So instead, get a guaranteed day to pick this year for Mara O'Jomo, who, in my mind, the way I'm thinking about it for them, they're like, okay, this was a seventh round pick.

[SPEAKER_00]: If the team needs matchup with what is available in rounds two and three of this NFL draft, he said that's a really fair question.

[SPEAKER_00]: The best way to sort of think about that is right now what we've structured is to be is that we don't have to pick based off of need at any spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think when I was with the Los Angeles Rams, there were too many drafts, and I got to live this, where you felt pressed to take a specific position, and there were instances where it worked out fine for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: It may just be the way that those specific situations unfolded, but I think walking into the door on day two as it stands right now, we're not saying that we need this position at this spot, which is a luxury, I'm excited about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means that we can really take somebody that we understand that we have a clear vision for alignment on it and it doesn't have to be dependent on it's got to be this specific spot or this side of the excuse me, this side of the ball.

[SPEAKER_00]: Average depth of target in 2024 was 14.2 yards down the field, so you've seen him win in multiple roles because even last year, which was not as productive, he still had 49 catches for 850 yards and average 17.5 yards per catch with five touchdowns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what he did do in his final year in college to really improve his game in my mind, there was many things, but his hands, like in 2024, he dropped eight of 93 targets, which was a little bit on a high side.

[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that is these are a good bit of them, easier targets because of the average depth of target.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you pop on the tape when he actually is asked to go deep, he can separate deep, he can get contested catches, play physical, I think he is a really snappy and quick route runner.

[SPEAKER_00]: He would fall right in line with that, but he's got more pop, more athleticism, more juice, and I think that just that competition between all those guys for reps, maybe four, even a roster spot would be really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: I still think the Jaguars would be in a good spot to potentially move on from a Tuma Adoga.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, but he's also a great hands-catcher, contested catches, does not drop anything, good athlete.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a perfect compliment for what the Jaguars have in Britain strange and obviously Quint Morris as well.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this kind of bumps Quentin Morris now in a peg and all likelihood to your Titan 3 jack injuries and Britain's strange and it doesn't have to be immediately like Quentin Morris is a pro.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you make teams get into their big personnel, you have Britain's strange in jack injuries at Titan who can pop you in the mouth,

[SPEAKER_00]: So Andre Fuller, I mean, I think that you also think about Toledo and some of the guys that have come out of there, you like how well they've done when it comes to producing NFL talent.

[SPEAKER_00]: He seems like a guy that could be a good swinging again, really good in man coverage, which I think could give the Jaguars a little bit of potentially a guy that can be a change up to what they have, which I think could be very useful for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we try to establish even more depth on the defensive front at the end of this one because there's again two guys that I think just bring it.
