- 0:36Welcome back to Rick and Elaine discuss the Bible
- 0:39and in particular the book of Job. Good afternoon.
- 0:42Hey, how you doing? How you doing? Elaine Ray
- 0:44Clark? How you doing? I'm doing fine. My brother.
- 0:47I'm doing fine. How you doing? I'm good. I still
- 0:50keep thinking I'm drifting into Sylvester Stallone.
- 0:55You know, it's like, um, let's see. Uh, how does
- 1:01he, he goes off. Hey. Hey. Adrian, Adrian. Hey,
- 1:09hey, how you doing? Oh, no, that's Joey. Yeah.
- 1:13How you doing? Hey, how you doing? Exactly. Exactly.
- 1:16How you doing? Well, you know, how are you doing?
- 1:21How are you doing? Well, I just want you to know,
- 1:23last week I got to meet your daughter and son
- 1:26-in -law through Zoom, which was really cool.
- 1:28Yeah. That was really, that was really nice of
- 1:31them. And hopefully they'll get to come to America
- 1:33someday. They're not as special as you. Let's
- 1:35just be real. You're saying all the right things
- 1:38there, Rick. I mean, you know, whether they're
- 1:40true or not, I'll just agree with it. It's rather
- 1:43nice. But again, yeah, they sort of, yeah, it's
- 1:47lovely having somebody like you and others that
- 1:49are listening, my little family out there, our
- 1:51family. And you just think to yourself, it's
- 1:54so wonderful to have people that really want
- 1:57to hear what the Bible has to say that doesn't
- 1:59really get fed up with it. that really recognizes
- 2:02it. It's a wonderful dive into the beauty of
- 2:05who God is, the essence of it, that we're trying
- 2:07to really get to the bottom of in talking about
- 2:09Job and that. And you just think that there are
- 2:11people out there that really love what we love.
- 2:15And I appreciate that so much because so many
- 2:18people over here, again, when I know I'm in Spain,
- 2:22but in England, really have nothing like the
- 2:26Americans. Nothing. Nothing. There's no one in
- 2:30England that is a pastist. You talk to them about
- 2:33it and they go, huh? Yeah. What are you on about?
- 2:37You know, they don't even know what dispensationalism
- 2:39is, really. Well, I mean, that's where it originated.
- 2:42It originated in England. Well, it did with Darby,
- 2:45but I mean, it actually started with Margaret
- 2:48McDonald, didn't it? Up in Scotland. Yeah, but
- 2:51Darby is the one that promoted that vision that
- 2:54she had of the rapture. Yeah, yes, he did. But
- 2:57again, it all it just did was it turned into
- 2:59it It basically turned into you know, you got
- 3:02the Miller rights and you got like the Seventh
- 3:04-day of Benteist the Mormons the Jehovah's Witnesses.
- 3:07That's America Yeah, exactly. Well except for
- 3:10I think didn't Jehovah's Witnesses came from
- 3:13England America. No, America. Charles Taze Russell.
- 3:17I thought yeah. Oh, okay So he's American. I
- 3:19thought he was from England and then he moved
- 3:21to America. But kind of like Darby, Darby and
- 3:24C .I. Schofield and all that stuff that happened
- 3:26in America. Regardless, the second enlightenment
- 3:29where all of the cults were born in the 1800s
- 3:32here in America. That's what I'm saying. I think
- 3:34that it all began prior to that. Do you know,
- 3:40I always forget his name. It was about 1892.
- 3:44He was discussing Having a state of Israel or
- 3:48for Israel and they actually suggested Madagascar
- 3:52at once talking about you talking about the Rothschild
- 3:55No, I'm not talking about Rothschild Rothschild
- 3:57got into there, but it was um Come to me throughout
- 4:02was he an American he was an American Jew Okay,
- 4:06yeah, I'm lost anyway back to that and that's
- 4:10what I'm saying. It's Yeah, so that's why really
- 4:14it didn't really take off in England because
- 4:16it took off in America where in England I think
- 4:19we're a little bit too sort of what can't really
- 4:21be bothered with that, you know, yeah We love
- 4:24you too busy having tea and crumpets. Yes, too
- 4:27busy holding our little fingers up like that
- 4:29Yeah, more tea vicar more tea vicar. Yeah You
- 4:33know, it's like Pink Floyd that came from England
- 4:35had a song called Time off the Dark Side of the
- 4:38Moon album. And one of the lines in that song
- 4:41was, hear the softly spoken magic spells. It's
- 4:44talking about religion in England and how it's
- 4:47softly spoken and how you're just kind of droned
- 4:49out. Well, the thing is, it's like you take these
- 4:52people that like these big directors that have
- 4:55got real movers and shakers. Look at Aaron Spelling.
- 4:57Now, I mean, Aaron is a priest. He was the first
- 5:00high priest. And yet spelling is casting spells.
- 5:02That's what you do when you put films out there.
- 5:05So he's a high priest of casting spells with
- 5:07films. Wow. That's, that's interesting. Can I
- 5:10leave some information in the comments about
- 5:13what you think about that? Yeah, there's quite,
- 5:15there's quite a few of them, Rick, when you sort
- 5:17of like, when you sort of like mash their names
- 5:18down. There's really quite a, there's hidden
- 5:22in plain sight, Rick. Wow. That's awesome. That's
- 5:25good stuff. I like that. Alright so here's what
- 5:27we're going to get into the comments this i've
- 5:31got a hard stop in an hour today because of work
- 5:34i wanted to give everybody an update i've gotten
- 5:37a new customer i have a customer meeting today
- 5:38for another new customer i haven't had a day
- 5:42off in almost fifteen days and i'm exhausted
- 5:45but it's okay my ox cart was in the ditch and
- 5:48i was digging him out i didn't put in there.
- 5:51I didn't put him in the ditch. It drove itself
- 5:54into the ditch. And so I'm thankful to the Lord
- 5:56that I've been able to work. But I've also been
- 5:59studying the scriptures and I had this enlightenment
- 6:02that came to me in regard to the book of Job,
- 6:05in regard to my widow's might study, in regard
- 6:07to my discussions with Elaine in the covenant.
- 6:09There's a lot of things that I'm going to bring
- 6:10out today, but I just wanted everybody to know.
- 6:14And this is the whole thing, isn't it, Rick?
- 6:16But once you start and this is what you this
- 6:18is all this is studying. This is what you and
- 6:20I talking is all about. It really is sort of
- 6:23like opening up scriptures and then all of a
- 6:25sudden linking others because you've actually
- 6:27hit the head on that particular one. That's right.
- 6:31Yeah, that is the key now to the others. I didn't
- 6:33really quite understand. That's right. And that's
- 6:36the study of the widow. Mine and your study of
- 6:40Genesis. And looking at Matthew twenty seven
- 6:43the resurrection of the saints as well as looking
- 6:45at the story of job they all actually connect
- 6:47in a very unique way I did and the Lord opened
- 6:50up. My eyes literally this morning cuz I knew
- 6:54I had this coming I was. I had been reading it,
- 6:57but I was working so much. I haven't been able
- 6:59to even open my Bible. I mean, I'm talking like
- 7:0112 hour or 13 hour days. And so I just come home
- 7:04and I take a shower and collapse in the bed.
- 7:06That's what it's been like. But it's because
- 7:08I have work and I'm very thankful. So the Lord
- 7:10is turning my business around. We're coming up
- 7:14out of the ashes and it's it's he's working me
- 7:17and a man who does not work will not eat and
- 7:19I've learned that heavily In my business before
- 7:22I was more of the guy sitting behind the desk
- 7:24now I'm doing everything so I'm happier than
- 7:26I've ever been Still in the midst of a lot of
- 7:29trouble, but I'm happy and I'm thankful. I'm
- 7:31blessed So I everybody thank you for your prayers
- 7:34I'm gonna get into the comments that you did
- 7:36our last study and then we're gonna get into
- 7:37this week And this one is going to be in my opinion
- 7:41A big one. I think it's going to be very eye
- 7:43-opening for most of you. It was for me and the
- 7:45Lord gave it to me. This is not me. The Lord,
- 7:48I give God the credit. He opened my eyes to the
- 7:50scriptures and by the Holy Spirit this morning
- 7:53as I was praying about it. And I'm so excited
- 7:56to get into today. All right. I don't know because
- 8:00I haven't got any notes. Well, you know what?
- 8:02I didn't send notes because I didn't have time
- 8:03to write any. I didn't know. I'm not saying that.
- 8:05I'm just letting the audience know. Yeah, it'd
- 8:07be nice if you when you start saying stuff. Whether
- 8:10we're on the same page anyway. Yeah. So Elaine's
- 8:13going to be right where you guys are. She hasn't
- 8:15heard a word of this and Elaine, I can't wait
- 8:17for you to hear it because I, when you see these
- 8:19connections, you're, I think you're going to
- 8:21love this. All right. So let's get into the comments
- 8:22this week. Tony driver. Hi, Tony. Hi, Tony. She
- 8:27said, Rick, I was off Tuesday before the conference.
- 8:30And I'm off today, too. I didn't see the email
- 8:33address, but I may have missed it somewhere.
- 8:35She's talking about me putting your email address
- 8:36in the comments. Oh, bless her. Thank you, Tony,
- 8:38because I went back in and I edited my post.
- 8:40I would like that because I don't get any comments.
- 8:43I feel like a little sort of like a little outsider.
- 8:46I feel like that. So guys, please email Elaine
- 8:49Rae Clark. OK, Elaine Rae Clark. So here's her
- 8:51address. You guys ready? Write it down. Elaine
- 8:55dot Clark five six at outlook dot com that's
- 8:58e la in e dot cl a r k five six at Outlook dot
- 9:06com write her a personal message would you guys
- 9:09because I know you're listening and I know you're
- 9:11watching your Viking comments right or a little
- 9:13note be really nice Lister spirits come on. She's
- 9:16alone out there in Spain. All right here we go
- 9:19Tony says, great study again today. One thing
- 9:22that really stood out to me was how Job moves
- 9:24from defending his outward actions to examining
- 9:27the integrity of his inner life before God. It
- 9:30really shows that true wisdom and righteousness
- 9:32go deeper than what people can see on the outside.
- 9:35Looking forward to next week. That is true. And
- 9:40what we're going to learn today is that his introspective
- 9:43look still doesn't quite get there. Elaine was
- 9:46actually touching on this. Um, and I can't I
- 9:49wasn't really rejecting her but I was trying
- 9:51to push it off Until we got to a lie who but
- 9:54but you're you're you've been spot on elaine
- 9:56this whole time. Yes All right. So the next one
- 9:59comes from dina thompson. Hi dina. Hi dina All
- 10:05right. Hello family. Hello Hello family. I love
- 10:11this so much less. Hello family. I know And I'm
- 10:14hoping for more Old Testament books to be discussed.
- 10:17Might I suggest one that my very favorite Bible
- 10:19verse comes from? Zephaniah, just a thought for
- 10:22the future. Okay, listen, you just told us your
- 10:24favorite verse was from Zephaniah. How about
- 10:26you share it in the comments and tell us what
- 10:28that verse was. Exactly. We don't know, do we?
- 10:31No. And here's what she says. I was reminded
- 10:33of an MMA fighter, a mixed martial arts fighter,
- 10:37during this episode. His name was Kimbo Slice.
- 10:40I know him very well. I remember Kimbo Slice.
- 10:43He made a play on the word enemy one time in
- 10:45an interview. Listen to this, Elaine. This is
- 10:47cool. He said the inner me is the enemy. Then
- 10:52he stated it correctly and said the inner me.
- 10:56Yes. The enemy. This is what I see happening.
- 10:59Yeah. Very great, Nina. Uh, I cannot, or he says,
- 11:03uh, this is what I see happening with Job. He
- 11:04is correct in stating that he is righteous, but
- 11:07he focuses on him rather than him. Amen. That's
- 11:12good. Very good. And some things don't change,
- 11:15Dina. You're right, Dina. And we're going to
- 11:17be touching on this today. It's fascinating.
- 11:19I cannot tell you how many times I have done
- 11:21the same and still fall into it even now. Me
- 11:23too. Me too. There you go. I just said that.
- 11:26It's the same. Yep. Yep. Thankfully, we're all
- 11:29on the same page. This is our little family.
- 11:31Thankfully, God corrects my thinking and reminds
- 11:34me the inner me is the inner me. And if my eyes
- 11:38are not in him, I'm sinking under the water.
- 11:41Yes. Very good. Well done. Excellent, Dina. Thank
- 11:44you both for sharing your personal struggles
- 11:45and for bringing out the fact that Job was a
- 11:48fallen human just like us. I think we sometimes
- 11:51forget that these saints struggled too. I appreciate
- 11:55you both. Rick. Bless you. We appreciate you,
- 11:58Dina. We do appreciate you. Rick, I can never
- 12:01thank you enough for what you have done for me
- 12:03and Alan. Guys, I haven't done anything for you.
- 12:06Y 'all have done it for me. I've just been bringing
- 12:08attention to you guys. Yeah, for us. And Elaine,
- 12:13thank you for your word studies and bringing
- 12:14scripture to life. Oh, bless your heart. That's
- 12:18what that's what it's all about, Dina. It's living.
- 12:20The word is alive. Yes, it is. Here's what is
- 12:23alive. If you're not bubbling up, it's dead.
- 12:26It's not happening. That's right. Absolutely.
- 12:28And that's what happened to me this morning.
- 12:30I cannot wait to hug you, she says. Oh, that's
- 12:35so sweet. I can't wait to hug you either. I know
- 12:37it happened in August. It will. It's coming.
- 12:41Love you both. My sweet brother and sister with
- 12:43a giant heart. We love you too, Dina. And we
- 12:46love your husband, Alan, very much. All right.
- 12:49This is awesome. All right. This comes from Heather
- 12:51Lynn Ross. Hey Heather. That's right. That was
- 12:55the first one that we had, wasn't it? A couple
- 12:57of weeks ago. Yeah. Here she go. You're right.
- 12:59How you doing? Hey, how you doing? How you doing
- 13:03Heather? How you doing? You guys are inside though,
- 13:07looking a little bit sort of, you know, yeah,
- 13:09that's it. That's it. Yeah. All right. She says,
- 13:13Hey y 'all. Hi y 'all. Hi y 'all. How y 'all
- 13:16doing out there? Yeah. You got a great Southern
- 13:21accent. You're so good. I might use the rest
- 13:25of the study in my Southern accent. I want you
- 13:27to do it when you come over here. I want you
- 13:29to talk like, uh, I think I will talk, but you
- 13:31think that, uh, no, I think they'll find that
- 13:33my accent is English underneath. Really? They
- 13:35will. They'll find it. All right. What a great.
- 13:37What a great study this week. She capitalized
- 13:41these. I cannot wait to meet you, Elaine. August
- 13:46can't get here fast enough. Oh, Lord, this is
- 13:49so wonderful to be wanted. I've always been rejected
- 13:51by churches in England. Get her out, get her
- 13:54out. And you don't realize how wonderful it is
- 13:56to actually be loved and wanted. It's a totally
- 13:58different aspect of meeting my brothers and sisters.
- 14:03Yeah, I've been rejected and pushed out so many
- 14:05churches. what I think and speaking up for what
- 14:08I think, not in a nasty, unkind way, but, you
- 14:11know, if somebody says something, I feel that
- 14:13if the time is right to say it, that, yeah, but,
- 14:16and that makes me, Heather, you don't know how
- 14:18much that makes me feel loved. And it's almost
- 14:22like God has brought me into your lives to say,
- 14:24darling, you are loved. Here are those brothers
- 14:27and sisters that do love you. That's so sweet.
- 14:31Thank you so much. Thank you, Lord, for that.
- 14:34Yes, thank you. All right She goes on and says
- 14:36I find it very interesting that it's sometimes
- 14:38the young snappers in the Bible that somehow
- 14:40call things like they are You're right Heather,
- 14:43and we're gonna get into that today He really
- 14:47Rick he really blew people away with the knowledge
- 14:50he had but even today that's still true I know
- 14:53for me I'm very fortunate to have a younger brother
- 14:56who's very knowledgeable in the Bible and I tend
- 14:58to find myself calling him and asking him questions
- 15:00It really goes to show that there's nothing new
- 15:03to the sun. All right, listen. So Elaine, her
- 15:06younger brother, his name is Cameron, Cameron
- 15:08Driver, the second, and he's married to a young
- 15:11woman named Jaylen. And I got to meet I've met
- 15:14them before, but they came to the conference.
- 15:16I got to see him at the conference. They have
- 15:16a little baby named Cameron Driver, the third.
- 15:19We were talking about Heather. We are talking
- 15:22about Heather. Heather's younger brother is Cameron.
- 15:25Is Cameron Driver? Cameron Driver, the second.
- 15:28But is he related to Tony Driver, then? Yes,
- 15:31Heather is Tony's daughter. Now you know the
- 15:36connection. Now watch this. So Heather, I didn't
- 15:39tell you, I guess. I'm sorry. Sorry, Heather.
- 15:41I didn't put it all together. So you got Tony
- 15:44and Cameron driver, the parents, then you have
- 15:46Heather and Cameron driver, the second, who are
- 15:49brother and sister. Cameron is married to Jaylen
- 15:52who has a little baby named Cameron driver, the
- 15:55third. Right. Heather is married to a young man
- 15:58by the name of Cody, who's Bible studying with
- 16:00her right now. And they all are going to meet
- 16:02you in August. Now, listen, Cameron, the second,
- 16:05her brother is going to be speaking at the church.
- 16:10He's teaching at the church, preaching, really,
- 16:13I guess you would say as a preacher on Memorial
- 16:16Day weekend. And I'm going to be there. I'm going.
- 16:19I'm going. When's that? I think it's I think
- 16:21it's next. Let me see. I think Memorial Day.
- 16:26When is Memorial Day? Memorial Day is next. No,
- 16:31actually it's the 31st. He's speaking on the
- 16:3331st. So it's not Memorial Day weekend. It's
- 16:35the 31st. So Cameron, driver of the second is
- 16:37speaking on the 31st. All right. So anyway, let
- 16:39me get back to her comment. I just wanted you
- 16:41to know that's how they're all connected. So
- 16:42now you'll get to meet them all. She said, can't
- 16:46wait to hear next week's episode. Keep up the
- 16:48great work. Thank you guys. For listening and
- 16:51I'm super excited to have everybody meet Elaine
- 16:53I got to meet her in person. She said I know
- 16:56it'd be lovely. Yeah, honestly, you know, oh
- 17:00I can't wait I mean yes to be surrounded by brothers
- 17:03and sisters who have the same faith same belief
- 17:06and same the love and passion Passion. Yes, that's
- 17:08what the English it's all really. Yeah passion
- 17:11not a lot of passion going on right? That's right.
- 17:14All right Let's get into the study now Thanks
- 17:18for closing up shortly. Look, I'm getting all
- 17:21up in here in your grill. Look in my eyes. Look
- 17:24in my eyes. Hello. Look into my eyes, into my
- 17:27not around my eyes. All right, guys. So during
- 17:34the say something, Elaine and do that again.
- 17:38Hello. Hello. So. I have throughout the course
- 17:47of this study. I have been trying to on a personal
- 17:51level. It doesn't matter It doesn't matter but
- 17:54on a personal level and trying to figure out
- 17:55like when was this written? Like why was this
- 17:58written? When was this written? It's obvious
- 18:00that these people are not in the covenant line
- 18:02If you think that they are they're not but you're
- 18:04gonna see covenant themes throughout it's and
- 18:07there's a reason why and I've said I think it
- 18:10might have been written by Solomon or it could
- 18:12be the post Okay, I've landed I've landed. I
- 18:17think I know when it was written. The eagle has
- 18:19landed. It was written post exile. This story
- 18:24was written post exile. It's about possibly a
- 18:29real human being and what happened outside. And
- 18:31I think that I think it could be somebody like
- 18:35Daniel. Now when you say post exile, you talking
- 18:38about Babylonian, the Babylonian exile. All right,
- 18:42hold on a second. You just froze up. I want to
- 18:44check something. Yeah, okay. We're good. It's
- 18:48not you. It was me. My daughter was bringing
- 18:49me Rick. Oh, okay. It's fine All right. So listen,
- 18:54I think it was written post -exile now and I
- 18:56think that it could have been somebody like a
- 18:57Daniel figure because There's something that
- 19:00that when I was talking to the Lord about it
- 19:02this morning. I was like Lord This one character
- 19:08a lie who kind of like blows my mind because
- 19:10it doesn't make any sense I went and researched
- 19:13all of the scholars who've read your theologians.
- 19:16I've read all this stuff and none of it makes
- 19:18sense to me and I'm like This is so weird and
- 19:21I'll try to remember her name This woman wrote
- 19:24an article and I was like, I think she was the
- 19:27closest to it This is a story of how God brings
- 19:35you to himself and this is a story about how.
- 19:41God uses his covenant people to tell the story
- 19:45to get you to him the high priest is the one
- 19:50that communicates on behalf right and we know
- 19:53who the greatest high priest that ever lived
- 19:55is he still alive today and he's on the throne.
- 20:02Jesus Christ if you didn't. Pick up my drift.
- 20:04Oh, you won't talk to me then, Rick, were you
- 20:07surely? No, no, I'm not talking to you. You know,
- 20:09Elaine, Rick Clark. All right. They would have
- 20:10got it. They're not numpties. No. All right.
- 20:14So what I'm about to say, the first thing I'm
- 20:17going to do before I get into it is I'm going
- 20:19to have Elaine read the first chapter where Elihu
- 20:24begins to speak. OK, let me pull it up in my
- 20:29Bible. It should be Job, Chapter 32. Yes, chapter
- 20:3432. All right. If you would, Elaine, I would
- 20:40like for you to read all 22 verses of Job, chapter
- 20:4432. And then I'm going to then I'm going to show
- 20:49you guys what the Lord showed me and then see
- 20:51if you guys pick up what I'm laying down. OK,
- 20:53so out of nowhere, here comes this young man.
- 20:57Right. So these three men stop trying to answer
- 21:00Job. because he remained convinced of his own
- 21:03righteousness. But then the anger of Elihu, the
- 21:08son of Barahel, the boozy from the family of
- 21:11Ram, blazed up against Job for thinking he was
- 21:15right and God wrong. His anger also blazed up
- 21:19against his three friends because they had found
- 21:21no answer to Job but condemned him anyway. There's
- 21:25an empty seat there. Elihu had waited to speak
- 21:29to Job because they were older than he was. However,
- 21:34when Elihu saw that these three had no answer,
- 21:37his anger flared up. Elihu, the son of Barakhel,
- 21:42the boozy, said, I am young and you are old.
- 21:46So I held back from telling you my opinion. I
- 21:50said age should speak and abundance of years
- 21:52should teach wisdom. But it is the spirit in
- 21:55a person, the breath from Shaddai that gives
- 21:58him understanding. It isn't only the great who
- 22:01are wise or the aged who know how to judge. Therefore,
- 22:05I say, listen to me. I too will express my opinion.
- 22:10Here, I waited for your words. Listen to your
- 22:13reasonings as you were searching for what to
- 22:15say. I paid attention to you, but none of you
- 22:18convicted Job or refuted his arguments. So don't
- 22:22say we found the wise cause. Let God defeat him,
- 22:25not a human being, for he did not direct his
- 22:27words against me. and i won't answer him with
- 22:30your arguments they are confused they don't reply
- 22:35words have failed them but must i wait just because
- 22:39they don't speak just because they stand there
- 22:42stuck for an answer no i will now give you my
- 22:46answer i too would express my opinion for i am
- 22:50full of words the spirit within me compels me
- 22:53yes my insides feel like new wine under pressure
- 22:57like new wine skins, ready to burst. I must speak
- 23:01to find relief. I will open my lips and answer.
- 23:05I will show no favor to anyone, and I will flatter
- 23:08no one. I don't know how to flatter. If I did,
- 23:12my maker would soon put an end to me. Was I ravier
- 23:16enough? Was I angry enough? Did I sound angry?
- 23:18You weren't angry, and it was fine, but you were
- 23:20very pointed, and I think that's important. Well,
- 23:23I could have shouted and ranted and raved, but
- 23:24that didn't seem appropriate. Would you turn
- 23:26over to chapter one real quick and hold your
- 23:28place in chapter 32 chapter one of Joe? Okay
- 23:31All right guys So I'm gonna show y 'all how I
- 23:37when I say I I'm gonna give all credit to the
- 23:41Lord Absolutely, this is not me this directly
- 23:44Holy Spirit. Well, let's just hope it's right
- 23:46I didn't read it in a book. You'll see you guys
- 23:49will see all right read read The first verse
- 23:55of Job one. There was a man in the land of us
- 23:58whose name was Job. This man was blameless and
- 24:02upright. He feared God and shunned evil. OK,
- 24:06so right out of the gate, a man who fears God
- 24:09shuns evil from the land of us. In our early
- 24:12study, we were trying to figure out where it
- 24:14is. I told you where I think it is. He is from
- 24:17the land. So these three men stopped trying to
- 24:44answer Job because he remained convinced. of
- 24:47his own righteousness okay so the first thing
- 24:51before before when it says right here that these
- 24:54men ceased just to answer job because he was
- 24:58righteous in his own eyes okay so remember he
- 25:02was righteous and he's shoot evil for chapter
- 25:04one verse one he was righteous now they're saying
- 25:06he's righteous in his own eyes and then read
- 25:09the next verse chapter verse two of chapter one
- 25:13oh no chapter 32 okay But then the anger of Elihu,
- 25:17the son of Barakhel, the Buzi from the family
- 25:20of Ram, blazed up against Jo for thinking he
- 25:23was right and God wrong. All right. The son of
- 25:26Barakhel, the Buzite. It's very interesting.
- 25:31Buz, Buzite, Buz, Uz and Buz. Those were the
- 25:37sons of Nahor. Then you go to Barakhel and you're
- 25:40from the tribe of Ram. If you follow all of the
- 25:43descendants. It's coming through Nahor. Okay.
- 25:46So it's definitely not a covenant people that
- 25:49we're dealing with here, but God is a covenant
- 25:51God and he's going to show these people something
- 25:55unique. Now here's where I went when I was praying
- 25:58to the Lord. I was like, why, why is this? Why
- 26:01did you put this in and out of nowhere? Not nowhere
- 26:05from him. If I'm wrong, strike me down. This
- 26:08came from the Lord. Okay. Here we go. I believe
- 26:12this was written during post -exile. I think
- 26:14it's after Babylonian exile and most likely when
- 26:17they're about to head back to land, okay? After
- 26:21the time of Esther, Nehemiah, Ezra time when
- 26:24there's a lot of wisdom that's coming up. Ezra
- 26:26could have written this. Daniel during the Babylonian
- 26:28exile. These wise men who God's covenant people
- 26:32were pushing through. Because I want you to see
- 26:35this story as a total arc. Watch this. You start
- 26:39off with the righteous man. In my opinion, he's
- 26:42the representation of Israel. He is a representation
- 26:45of Israel. And, notice how many children he has.
- 26:50He has seven sons and three daughters. The women
- 26:54on the Nahorian side, women count as tribal leaders,
- 26:58okay? It's wild. It can happen. It does not happen
- 27:02so much so on the Abrahamic line, where it's
- 27:04patriarchal only, but some of the other quote,
- 27:07pagan societies. But what's important is that
- 27:11he has 10 children. And what happens after he's
- 27:17judgment comes, 10 children are dead. That's
- 27:22representative of the nation of Israel, the kingdom.
- 27:26I know that. I know that. We've talked about
- 27:27that now. Job is still israel he's remaining
- 27:33in time as israel okay while he's in the midst
- 27:36of his suffering you have how many friends come
- 27:39to visit him. How many three not four yet three
- 27:44through all this point alright i want you to
- 27:48i want to show you where israel is. For four
- 27:51hundred and thirty years israel is in egypt.
- 27:56That's eliphaz. Then the kingdom of Israel. They
- 28:00are taken out and scattered by Assyria Assyria
- 28:05holds the people from that time until the time
- 28:07of Christ will Christ will come and get them
- 28:10out He'll call them out. Okay, and then the third
- 28:14and final Remember to build add the Shuite That's
- 28:19Assyria the third one Babylon Babylon now, this
- 28:26is wild. Okay The wisdom from each one of these
- 28:30are baked into the cake of Israel. That's why
- 28:35whenever Job, who is representational of Israel,
- 28:38is sitting amongst these three friends over time
- 28:41and he's gaining, he's hearing their wisdom,
- 28:44he said, I already know all of this. There's
- 28:46something more. I already know all of this, something
- 28:47more. I've heard this before. You guys are mocking
- 28:50me. You're, you're missing something. You're
- 28:52missing something. It's wonky. That's what this
- 28:55story has been showing you so far, right? And
- 28:57that's always the issue with Israel. Israel is
- 29:00taken into captivity. They learn and they get
- 29:03things. You can take Israel out of Egypt, but
- 29:05you couldn't get Egypt out of the Israel. That's
- 29:07what Jesus discovered. You put Israel in with
- 29:10Assyria, and they become the Samaritans. You
- 29:13can get the Israel into Samaria, but you can't
- 29:14get the Samaria out of Israel. You put them in
- 29:17Babylon, guess what? Judah was taken in Babylon,
- 29:20and you couldn't get Babylon out of the Judah.
- 29:23In fact, many of them remain there. That's right.
- 29:26Thank you. Now, from Babylon, when you hear Daniel,
- 29:31Daniel tells a story from where you got Babylon,
- 29:34then you have Greece, then you have, no, no,
- 29:37hold on. Babylon, Greece, the Medo -Persians.
- 29:40Babylon, Medo -Persians, Greeks, Rome. You start
- 29:45watching Israel being carried into all of these
- 29:47things, right? Rome. What is it? Babylon, Medo
- 29:51-Persia, Greece, Rome. The Messiah. Now, when
- 29:59Job is sitting amongst his friends hearing all
- 30:02this wisdom, then he finally sees talking out
- 30:04of nowhere. Boom! Somebody shows up upon the
- 30:08scene and is angry and starts saying things.
- 30:11That should sound like somebody. Do you know
- 30:13what it sounds like? This is all Christ. It is,
- 30:17but watch this. This is the prophet class. a
- 30:21lie who represents the prophet class okay and
- 30:24what that means is as israel is going through
- 30:27time in the midst of all of these things they're
- 30:30letting the cultures and all of that stuff begin
- 30:32to affect them they know that they're the one
- 30:35true son of god israel is however through the
- 30:38descendants of abraham we are the sons of abraham
- 30:40they say that all the time right we know that
- 30:42they're the one true son of god of yahweh but
- 30:45it was it was always in faith it was never because
- 30:48of blood that's the point the remnant that remained
- 30:51with him was in faith right it was not about
- 30:52blood it's the remnant but here's the point just
- 30:55like in the northern tribes when elijah shows
- 30:57up on the scene and boom against ahab and jezebel
- 31:00he's bringing it right what ha let me ask you
- 31:04this question what happened to elijah at the
- 31:07end of his life carried away in what chariot
- 31:12in what And what lefties man whirlwind whirlwind
- 31:18whirlwind. So what you should see most of you
- 31:23guys have read job i'm not you sure know the
- 31:26end of the story alive who comes on the scene
- 31:28for five chapters and then god speaks from the
- 31:31whirlwind. So elijah and ally who are very similar
- 31:35in that regard okay now. Very similarly in the
- 31:39New Testament you have four hundred years a darkness
- 31:41period where no nothing there's no revelation
- 31:44from God no prophet class then up out of the
- 31:47wilderness comes who. Who's Elijah exactly in
- 31:53the spirit and power of Elijah according to Jesus
- 31:55so what's really unique is that a lie who is
- 31:58kind of a representation of like an Isaiah of
- 32:01a Jeremiah really funny let me look I think Jeremiah
- 32:04chapter forty nine verse seven. Uh, this is really
- 32:07cool Jeremiah chapter 49 verse 7 we are you looking
- 32:13it up Elaine? There my 49 verse 7. Yeah 49 verse
- 32:197 Jeremiah 49 verse 7. Yeah, I want you to I
- 32:22want you guys to notice something too about Jeremiah
- 32:24Okay, Jeremiah How old was he? Very young Yes,
- 32:31he was young. He was a young whippersnapper,
- 32:33right? Heather, you got it. So Jeremiah, when
- 32:36he is the young buck, he comes up, he's angry.
- 32:38He stands at the gate of the temple to get to
- 32:40the city and he's like calling them out. Right.
- 32:43All right. Listen to what he says in chapter
- 32:45forty nine. Seven. Seven. Right, says concerning
- 32:52Edom, this is what Adonai Tzvot says. Is there
- 32:55no wisdom left in T -Man? Have her wise men forgotten
- 32:59how to counsel? Has their wisdom vanished? Huh.
- 33:04That's interesting. Did it, what did it say?
- 33:09Is wisdom no more in Taman? T -men? Okay. Otherwise
- 33:15men forgotten how to counsel. Has their wisdom
- 33:17vanish? Yes. So let's go into, um, whoops. I
- 33:27want to go into, Oh, Job chapter three, I believe
- 33:31it is. Let me find it. No, we gotta get to her
- 33:36and the friends. I want you to look in Job chapter
- 33:40four, verse one. Job chapter four, verse one,
- 33:44Elaine. I'm sorry we're doing a Bible drill,
- 33:45but I gotta connect this for you guys, okay?
- 33:48Remember, Job chapter 49, verse seven says, is
- 33:50there no longer any wisdom in Timon? Right. Job
- 33:55chapter four, verse one. That's one if one tries
- 33:58to speak to you. Will you mind? Yeah, who could
- 34:02keep from speaking? No job chapter four verse
- 34:04one Then alif as the Tim and I spoke up. Oh what?
- 34:11Elif as the what? Tim a night. Yeah, come on.
- 34:16Is there no longer any wisdom in Timon? No, that's
- 34:20what that's what Jeremiah is saying in job chapter
- 34:22or Jeremiah 49 7 ok That when I saw that when
- 34:26I saw Jeremiah say that I was in the widow's
- 34:29mites and I used Jeremiah chapter 7 in my study
- 34:32that I did at Berean and I talked about you know
- 34:35when you see what happens to wisdom and the orphan
- 34:39and the stranger It's you know, it tells you
- 34:42where the righteousness level is for the nation.
- 34:44It's a it's a test indicator And so when I saw
- 34:47this, is there no longer any wisdom in Timan?
- 34:50It really clicked with me and I was like, oh,
- 34:53wow, this is a wisdom book, but it's about something
- 34:55unique. It's about the wisdom of God. It's about
- 34:57how God brings you to himself. It only happens
- 35:02when God does it, when God does it for you. So
- 35:06what happens in every case when you have when
- 35:09you have Israel in Egypt, God sends Moses a prophet.
- 35:14When you have Israel in the midst of struggle
- 35:17in the northern kingdom and the southern kingdom
- 35:19as they have begun to split Sorry, I'm drinking
- 35:23soda. So I had gas So I don't you carry on. I'm
- 35:26just I'm just trying to run through my head on
- 35:28it. Just so I'll I'll get it totally connected.
- 35:32I just I have to carry you through this part
- 35:34so then when you have When you have in Assyria,
- 35:38who do you have? Isaiah out of nowhere. Boom,
- 35:41here comes Isaiah. He starts telling them what's
- 35:43going to happen and Assyria will take them away,
- 35:45right? Then you have during the time of Ahab,
- 35:49you have the time of Jezebel, you have Elijah
- 35:52that shows up. And then right before their destruction,
- 35:54you have a little young whippersnapper, angry
- 35:57Jeremiah coming and saying, because you have
- 36:01done this, basically, and every one of them says,
- 36:05You have taken away the widow's cause. You're
- 36:08not pleading their case anymore. You're making
- 36:11the spoils of the fatherless. You have all of
- 36:15me. You have me as your covenant God and you
- 36:17have all of my words and the oracles and all
- 36:19of the best things. Things that Paul will say,
- 36:21this is what makes Israel so great. This was
- 36:24a promise. This was a promise. This was the oracle.
- 36:26That's what makes them so great. What's the benefit
- 36:28of being in Israel? Much in every way, because
- 36:30they had all of the things that God gave them.
- 36:32The problem was, and Job as well has it all.
- 36:37Job's got it all. Even the wisdom, but he's missing
- 36:41something. He is. I don't have to go through
- 36:45all of that in my head because it's quite a sort
- 36:47of what you're connecting here. But for me, the
- 36:51simplistic version of all of it is that it is
- 36:55always the youngest and the second that takes
- 36:59precedence and has the wisdom. Yes, the older
- 37:03show no matter what you go through, you can go
- 37:05through the first Adam and the second Adam. Well,
- 37:09who's the one that's going to win the second
- 37:11you go through a cane enable a label was the
- 37:15second and yet he was more righteous than his
- 37:18brother who was the first that you can go through
- 37:20to Abraham. You can go through to Isaac. You
- 37:23can go through to Jacob. You can go through to
- 37:25all of them it's all about that the first covenant
- 37:27was never going to cut the mustard it was always
- 37:30the second i mean i i thought it was interesting
- 37:32there where it says there in verse 19 it says
- 37:35yes my insides feel like new wine under pressure
- 37:38like new wine skins ready to burst and i just
- 37:41think it reminds me of jesus when he said you
- 37:43don't put old wine into old wine skins because
- 37:46the old wine is the first it's always the second
- 37:49if new wine goes into new wine skins then nothing
- 37:52will burst This is the way he's doing it. So
- 37:55again, it's always the second. You know, the
- 37:58first bride was Eve. The second bride is the
- 38:01church. Always the second. It wasn't Ishmael
- 38:03that should have got it. He was 13 when Isaac
- 38:05was born. But God said, no, the second. You know,
- 38:07it's always the younger. Even with Joseph, with
- 38:12Manasseh and Ephraim, it should have been Manasseh.
- 38:14Even Joseph said to his father, no, no, no, no.
- 38:16You crossed your hands and got it wrong. It wasn't.
- 38:19He said, I know what I'm doing. I know what I'm
- 38:21doing. And what's interesting about that as well
- 38:23is to follow through on what you're saying, is
- 38:25that Abraham turned around and said to Joseph,
- 38:28he said, these two children that you had in it,
- 38:31and his wife was Egyptian. She was Egyptian.
- 38:33So his children would have been half Egyptian.
- 38:36So he turns around and says, these two sons of
- 38:39yours are not yours anymore. They're mine. They're
- 38:42my son. Anything that comes out of your loins
- 38:45after that are yours, but these two are mine.
- 38:47So he's linking these two of Egypt. to himself.
- 38:51It's incredibly fascinating. Ephraim gets the
- 38:54sort of like the pat on the head, where Manasseh
- 38:56doesn't. And yet, you look in Revelation, Manasseh's
- 38:59put back in there, but Ephraim's not there. It
- 39:03ties in all the way through. You've got this
- 39:05young man that's coming up now, that's got more
- 39:08sense than any of them. And it's like Christ,
- 39:11you know, he's got more sense than any of these
- 39:12ones. And like you said, that, you know, they
- 39:14had the law, they had the prophets, they had
- 39:17these people that would come to them, and yet
- 39:19God would send nobody's basically nobody's little
- 39:23tiny people that were insignificant to go and
- 39:25tell them but what did they do they rejected
- 39:27them all the time rejected them rejected them
- 39:30rejected them and it's the same thing even through
- 39:33job you've got these ones that are supposed to
- 39:35be sort of in this position but instead of like
- 39:38you know assessing the situation as you would
- 39:41do if you had all these understanding all this
- 39:43understanding and knowledge They didn't. All
- 39:45they just did was become self -righteous and
- 39:48condemn Job for something that God was teaching
- 39:50him. God was taking him further and further and
- 39:53further out into, it's like we said before, that,
- 39:58you know, the walls of understanding God get
- 40:00to the point where you end up in revelation.
- 40:03You're in the new covenant arrangement and there
- 40:06are no, there's no, there's no temple there.
- 40:08And why? There's no walls anymore. It's all complete,
- 40:12it's done. So again, I would agree with you there.
- 40:15I don't quite know about the, but I'd have to
- 40:17look into that, but the connections you're making
- 40:20are valid. All I'm trying to show you, if I didn't
- 40:23do it well, I'm just trying to show you a covenant
- 40:25story. I'm trying to show you that God had a
- 40:29plan all along to carry Israel. It starts with
- 40:33Adam and it ends with Christ and he shows you
- 40:36the pattern. The pattern keeps repeating itself.
- 40:38But what's unique is that post -exile, as they're
- 40:44coming back to the land with Ezra and Nehemiah,
- 40:46some of her coming back and they're trying to
- 40:48rebuild the temple. They're trying to get this
- 40:49going. The kingdom of Judah is still operating
- 40:52after 400 years, after 400 years of this, by
- 40:57the time John the Baptist shows up. Now, when
- 40:59you say that, when you say Under 400 years you're
- 41:03talking about what under 400 years of what 400
- 41:06years from the time of Malachi to the time of
- 41:08John the Baptist Yes, I understand that but you
- 41:10say they're operating under what a particular
- 41:12regime or a particular temple system The temple
- 41:16system they're operating under the temple system.
- 41:19Okay, so they have the temple system. They have
- 41:21the sacrifices They have the the oracles of God
- 41:24the law of the prophets. They've got all this
- 41:25stuff and by the time you get to John the Baptist
- 41:29time They're in oppression under the fourth kingdom,
- 41:34which Daniel tells all about. They're in the
- 41:36oppression of the fourth kingdom. The Messiah
- 41:37is lifted up at that time. He lives, he's cut
- 41:40off, he goes to the father on the throne. This
- 41:44story, not only is it repeating itself, but it's
- 41:47actually pointing to the Christ. All of this
- 41:50is about Christ, 100%. 100%. You when you see
- 41:54a lie who in the job study it's important to
- 41:56see him as a profit class alive is young he's
- 42:01the older shall serve the younger, lfas bill
- 42:04dad and so far representations of old wisdom
- 42:08wisdom from from people like egypt wisdom from
- 42:12the assyrians who are brutal wisdom from the
- 42:16the the point of. So far even or even really
- 42:20break just wisdom of their own again that the
- 42:22law was supposed to sort of like you were supposed
- 42:24to sort of make attain Oneness with God through
- 42:28your own ability. So therefore even that would
- 42:31have just followed through I'm just showing you
- 42:35how I'm trying to show you how it's Israel's
- 42:37story, but he's telling it outside of the covenant
- 42:40people. Yes, yes. I understand. It's like an
- 42:43allegory. It's like if you're sitting down and
- 42:44somebody gives you an allegory or one of Aesop's
- 42:47fables and you learn a lesson, right? Let's talk
- 42:50about this like the hare and the tortoise. Everybody
- 42:54knows that story. Who wins the race? Slow and
- 42:58steady wins the race. That's the lesson, right?
- 43:01Job is like the hair and the tortoise for Israel.
- 43:05Job is a story that tells this really in -depth
- 43:07covenant story. Now, isn't it funny? I think
- 43:10the hair and the tortoise is about the sun and
- 43:12the moon because it's always, always looks behind,
- 43:15but then as the sun catches round it goes quicker.
- 43:18It always ends up behind it. Yes, that's good.
- 43:21Then it might surpass it. Then it ends up behind
- 43:23it. Yes. That's where I think he's, the thing
- 43:27he's going back to there is he's talking about
- 43:29something. Sort of that's good i i never thought
- 43:32of it that way but see that's the beauty of wisdom
- 43:34language or wisdom or fables or all these stories
- 43:37right but i get exactly what you're saying rick
- 43:40one hundred percent i understand i was trying
- 43:42to ascertain What you were saying, it wasn't
- 43:44because you weren't explaining it properly, is
- 43:46I need time. I'm not going to go, yeah, that's
- 43:48right. I need to see where you're coming. Now
- 43:50I see where you're coming from. And I would say
- 43:53- You boiled it down. You boiled that potato
- 43:55way down really, really fast. You're like the
- 43:57older sort of the younger and they're going to
- 43:58follow. Like, yes, new wine and the new wineskins.
- 44:01Yes, that's the lesson. Of course. You just build
- 44:05it down to its goods. But how are you getting
- 44:06there in this? I understand perfectly now what
- 44:08you're saying. And I would say that that was
- 44:10- That was that was history and prophecy written
- 44:13within the story. And what's really unique. OK,
- 44:16this is this is what really was mind blowing
- 44:18to me, because when I was talking to Lord about
- 44:19it, I was like, Lord, I don't understand. Like,
- 44:21why are you doing it through Nahor? And then
- 44:23suddenly I realized where they were from. Where
- 44:25were Nahor and Abraham originally from or of
- 44:28the Chaldees? Do you know they are the Babylonians?
- 44:31They are. So they're the Babylonians. So what's
- 44:35going on by the time you get to the third eggs
- 44:38or the third? What Zophar would represent in
- 44:44the story is Babylon where Daniel and Ezekiel
- 44:47are and they're telling the future of what's
- 44:49happening to Old Covenant Israel and how it's
- 44:51going to be brought in by the new second Adam.
- 44:56I don't even think that that would give you a
- 44:59time date there really, Rick. I just think that
- 45:01because we know that, we're assuming it. but
- 45:04again prophecy is something that you don't quite
- 45:06understand it's like you know 200 years somebody
- 45:08will rise up well they didn't know Cyrus at the
- 45:10time they didn't know who he was going to be
- 45:12so i think that what you're saying is i don't
- 45:14think we still know exactly the time period but
- 45:17i think the prophecy was definitely written into
- 45:19it oh it doesn't matter yeah it doesn't matter
- 45:21when the book of Job was written That's me. Rick
- 45:25Welch likes to get into the nitty gritty and
- 45:28see if he can figure stuff out, like putting
- 45:29together a puzzle. I mean, I like, I do like
- 45:31that as well, but I think that that's, I mean,
- 45:34I've tried to look at the nitty gritty of it
- 45:36and find out, but I've given up that really,
- 45:38because not that I think if anybody else wants
- 45:41to keep looking into it, but I think that what
- 45:42you've just brought out there is the most important
- 45:45part. It's always about the younger. It's always
- 45:47about what leads up to it. It's always about,
- 45:49you know, it's... It goes back to Adam, it really
- 45:54all goes back to the Garden of Eden. It is paradise
- 45:56lost and paradise regained. And that's the whole
- 45:59thing. And like I say, you know, like you said
- 46:01about Egypt, about bringing, I mean, we know
- 46:03that Christ is the story of it. And do you know
- 46:04what I was thinking about that the other day?
- 46:07You see our connections, you know, you're just
- 46:08talking about Egypt. I was thinking the other
- 46:10day, Lord, you know, heaven knows what came into
- 46:13my mind. I was thinking about Ramesses, Ramesses.
- 46:16And I'm thinking about, you know, why has he
- 46:18got those cross things over him as stuff like
- 46:20that? And then I went onto a Hebrew site, and
- 46:23I was saying, well, what is Ramses? What is Ramses?
- 46:28And I love chopping words up. This is what I
- 46:31do. So I'm thinking, well, he's the sun king.
- 46:34Well, and who's the sun king is Ra. Well, if
- 46:39you cut it in half, you go Ra, Moses, Ra, Moses.
- 46:44It's the sun, sun. That's what he is. He's the
- 46:48son of the sun. yeah moses was found and they
- 46:52didn't know who his father was so instead of
- 46:55saying he was the son of so -and -so they just
- 46:57called him moses so he's just son that's what
- 47:02she called him son so you had moses which is
- 47:06the son of the son but because you know his father
- 47:08he was just called son And I was just thinking
- 47:11about Egypt, I called my son and how this son
- 47:14led them out of Egypt. You know, now we have
- 47:16the true son of God lead them out of Egypt. And
- 47:20again, the cross things, I thought, why have
- 47:22you got a cross over, you know, to hold those
- 47:24square things, you know, those two things. And
- 47:26I thought, well, what are they, Lord? You know,
- 47:28and so I looked up, I thought, what are those
- 47:30cross things? Well, they crossed them over their
- 47:32chest. It was that they had the ability. One
- 47:35was a crook, a shepherd's crook. that would protect
- 47:38you, and the other one was a flail that could
- 47:41bring punishment on you. And I thought, well,
- 47:44that was like the power of the cross, the sun,
- 47:46because, you know, Rab -Ra, he had the horns
- 47:48and he had the sun. Well, the altar has got the
- 47:51horns of the altar that the blood was put on,
- 47:53and the sun was laid on the altar, and he had
- 47:56the cross over the thing, and he had the power
- 47:58to destroy, and he had the power to save. I'm
- 48:01thinking, hey, you've got sort of all these things,
- 48:04again, that tie in with what you were saying
- 48:06about coming out of Egypt. And, you know, it
- 48:09just blows your mind when you look into it, really,
- 48:12Rick. It really, really does. But yes, what you
- 48:16said is incredibly feasible. Watch this. All
- 48:19right. So and I'm going to end the study with
- 48:21it right here. We can because we're going to
- 48:24get into Elihu's actual speech next week. But.
- 48:28I want you to think about the New Testament times.
- 48:31All right, when you start reading Matthew and
- 48:33Mark and Luke and You find that that the kingdom
- 48:36of Judah is in trouble, right? They're the kingdom
- 48:39of Israel is in trouble. They're they're they're
- 48:42scattered They're lost sheep with no shepherd
- 48:45and out of the blue You've got this young firebrand
- 48:52You know John the Baptist character that comes
- 48:55in and says look you've got to be baptized You've
- 48:58got to be cleansed he is from the tribe of Levi
- 49:01he's a little style priest what he's doing in
- 49:05the power and spirit of Elijah. Is he is he is
- 49:08saying he is doing exactly what jesus tells nicodemus
- 49:12listen listen really closely to something that
- 49:15ally who says verse nine or actually verse. Eight
- 49:20and nine. No, but there is spirit in man and
- 49:23the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding
- 49:25You should know that John the Baptist was full
- 49:29of the Holy Spirit from birth. All right? Nine
- 49:32great men are not always wise neither do the
- 49:35aged understand judgment if you don't think of
- 49:36John chapter 3 with Jesus and Nicodemus I don't
- 49:38know what you're thinking about because Nicodemus
- 49:41who was the teacher of Israel? Then he marvels
- 49:44at Jesus's words and Jesus says You're the teacher
- 49:48of teachers And yet you do not know these things
- 49:50you must be born again that baptism that born
- 49:54again that whole theme of what they're trying
- 49:57to these young men are trying to say to that
- 49:58old generation of Israel and its trouble Israel
- 50:02in its exile Israel in its sitting in the ashes
- 50:05Israel in its disease state of boils Israel in
- 50:08its horrid state and You're gonna justify yourself
- 50:12with the law. You're gonna justify this you're
- 50:14gonna do these abominations and you're gonna
- 50:15be justified in this You cannot do that so think
- 50:19about job coming from the he's got all the goods
- 50:21but at the reality is he doesn't have the relationship
- 50:24that is the problem and that's what a lie who
- 50:28is only gonna point out partially just like john
- 50:30the baptist john the baptist says i must decrease
- 50:33and he must increase the lie who will decrease
- 50:37and this god will speak from the whirlwind that's
- 50:40the pattern that's where we're heading in this
- 50:43in the study. Job is representation of old Adamic
- 50:47Israel who then gets the covenant by Moses and
- 50:52goes through all of these problems with those
- 50:55three nations and then ends up in the exile trying
- 50:59to head to the temple, but they're, they're using
- 51:01that temple in the wrong way. And so what's going
- 51:04to happen is you're going to have John the Baptist
- 51:06and Christ that brings them to the new. That
- 51:08is what's coming. You've got that right at the
- 51:11end when he gives him 10 more children. He gives
- 51:14him 10 more children. Why? He gets them back.
- 51:16He gets them back. Judah and they are united
- 51:18together. And what does he do? He's the one that
- 51:21prays for those three. He prays for the other
- 51:23three. He prays for the wisdom that is wrong.
- 51:27He still cares about the nations. He does. Because
- 51:29he's the one that's going to care for the nations.
- 51:31Christ is going to be over all the nations. Just
- 51:33like the promise. Because the original promise
- 51:36to Abraham who was from her of the counties out
- 51:38of Babylon that God made special in faith because
- 51:41he believed in him. God credited to him as righteousness
- 51:44absolutely believed in him yeah okay yeah which
- 51:47is exactly what job's gonna do but Abraham who's
- 51:51whose representation of Israel. He is by faith
- 51:55this is where the promise comes through it comes
- 51:57all the way through to Christ absolutely this
- 52:00story no matter when it was written is telling
- 52:02the story. Exactly. In the New Israel, who are
- 52:06us? We are part of it. We're the children of
- 52:10the bride as a groom. Exactly. You go back to
- 52:13Exodus or Deuteronomy. It's always been about
- 52:15the heart. He said circumcise your heart. Yes,
- 52:21absolutely. Circumcise your heart. Do no longer
- 52:23these abominations. Yeah. Exactly. So it was
- 52:27always about that. I mean, again, why did they
- 52:29fall in the wilderness like a faith? Right so
- 52:31what you're gonna hear now so now that you think
- 52:34about it if you can see the type of the prophet
- 52:36class if you can see that you're gonna see that
- 52:39a lie who is very different from these other
- 52:40three and so when a line who speaks we gotta
- 52:43listen really carefully because he's actually
- 52:45helping joe. Get to the whirlwind he's just he's
- 52:50the forerunner he's like john the baptist he's
- 52:52making the path straight for job. To get to the
- 52:56whirlwind. Yeah. Do you think also that you say
- 52:59it's a prophet class? Do you not think it's Christ
- 53:02himself? I think Christ represents the God in
- 53:08the whirlwind personally. I think Elihu is more
- 53:11of the John the Baptist. Yes, I think Christ
- 53:15fulfills every type, honestly. But with Christ
- 53:18in Elihu, the way I would... The way that I would
- 53:21look at that is when Christ comes in the triumphal
- 53:24entry and he stands over Jerusalem and he's calling
- 53:27out Jerusalem. Yes, the same way. Woe to you,
- 53:30scribes and Pharisees. That's what Elihu does.
- 53:33Woe to you, you three friends and Job. Yeah,
- 53:36I think that the only thing is I would get it
- 53:38says it talks about like, you know, I, I, I must
- 53:42speak. I will open my lips. I will show no favor
- 53:45to anyone and I will flutter no one. I don't
- 53:48know how to flatter. I'm just thinking that that
- 53:51is Christ. I don't think, this is my own thought
- 53:54process. I just think that now we're shifting
- 53:56from those three aspects that you talked about
- 53:58that were around during those time periods under
- 54:01those other kingdoms. Now you've got Christ under
- 54:06this last kingdom, Rome, and I think this is
- 54:09the one that, I think this is, for me, I would
- 54:12say that this would be sort of like the words
- 54:14that Christ himself would say. He would be the
- 54:17culmination of the other three and all that he's
- 54:21going to bring about, which is where he's going
- 54:24to bring about, Christ is going to bring about
- 54:27in the future, Job's future, but he's using Job
- 54:30as the class of people that are going to get
- 54:32it. They can start understanding and start to
- 54:35push out these walls and start to, instead of
- 54:37looking at the law, which is what you've been
- 54:39saying the other three are, which is I totally
- 54:41agree with that, I think that now he's saying
- 54:44to Job, right, you are now the class that are
- 54:47going to start guessing it. So I think that personally
- 54:50for me, I would see that as now Christ being
- 54:55the one that opens up the back right back there.
- 54:59I love that. I love that. And when I so this
- 55:01weekend or this week, whenever I go into my study,
- 55:04just so you guys know, we had to record today's
- 55:06Monday. You're watching it. If you're watching
- 55:08it on Tuesday, that's because I stayed up late
- 55:10tonight. And I actually bless your heart, not
- 55:12your you're watching in a different day because
- 55:14I put a little note, but I'm going to try to
- 55:16get it done because I'm very happy about this
- 55:17study. But don't forget, you've got to get some
- 55:19sleep. Yeah, I'll sleep when I'm dead. All right.
- 55:22So listen to this. My mom used to say that now
- 55:24she is. Oh, she's in heaven, hopefully. I don't
- 55:28know, but I'm praying. Well, the Lord knows our
- 55:32heart and why we absolutely there. All right.
- 55:34So let's end it. Let's end it with this. You
- 55:36say something. I am. Let's end it with this.
- 55:40I'm gonna take everything that you said Elaine
- 55:42into to heart and I'm gonna think about what
- 55:45you said about Christ But here's what's interesting
- 55:47a lie whose name and what it means. Did you look
- 55:49it up by any chance? I did Rick and I can't find
- 55:52it. I've got another Bible but go ahead two elements
- 55:55L and who it means he is my god and My god is
- 56:02he? There you go That's Christ very much like
- 56:06Christ very good. You got it. All right, cuz
- 56:09Yahushua means Yahweh saves That's what he was
- 56:12there to save his people from his sins. That
- 56:14was the point. All right, you know guys Again,
- 56:17I mean following through from all this I was
- 56:19reading sort of I was really doing a good sort
- 56:21of like dive into Ezekiel 33 and 34 and that's
- 56:25incredibly sort of You can see lots of Peter
- 56:28in there It just literally is wonderful how they
- 56:31pull out these scriptures. I forget the word
- 56:33for it, Rick. Maybe you know it. It's when they
- 56:35take a little bit of scripture here, a little
- 56:36bit of scripture there, sort of mash them together.
- 56:39There's a word for it. I don't know it. I'm just,
- 56:43it's just... just mash them together. There's
- 56:45my word mash. Yeah, it's a mashed word. I know
- 56:47Paul uses, Paul does it all the time. He takes
- 56:49two different Greek words and makes them a single
- 56:52word. And it's like, oh, well, no, he'll take
- 56:55a scripture from their scripture from their scriptures
- 56:56and he'll mash them together. And you'll get
- 56:59the sort of like the totality of the three mashed
- 57:01together. That makes total and utter sense. Yes.
- 57:04But he can't. It would be like, have you guys
- 57:06ever heard of let's go with the hair in the toilet.
- 57:09Have you ever heard of turtle wax? Turtle wax
- 57:12that was in car with it. Yeah, you wax your car
- 57:15with it But if you think about those two words
- 57:16mashed together, it means that you do a very
- 57:18slow wax job. Yeah, that's what it means. All
- 57:22right, so Guys, thanks for listening. Please
- 57:24leave your comments Thank you guys so much for
- 57:27being here with us. It means the world to us
- 57:29and We do really look forward to getting to meet
- 57:33everybody that's been commenting. And if others
- 57:36who are watching this who have not been commenting
- 57:38and you want to, like I told you, jump in at
- 57:41any time, we'll read those comments. Do you know
- 57:44what it is as well, Rick? I think that we, again,
- 57:47when people are listening, our little family
- 57:48and hopefully others will join our family, we
- 57:51are literally just talking as like as if they
- 57:54were sitting in the room. And I love that. It's
- 57:57not like an interview, it's not like a tea. We're
- 57:59just actually sort of like just being bubbly
- 58:02about the word of God and loving it. Right. Well,
- 58:05I just wanted to tell everybody, hey, say something,
- 58:09Elaine. How you doing? I hope you all enjoyed
- 58:14being here with us today. You know what you look
- 58:18like? You look like you've got a spoon. You know
- 58:21when those spoons that you put your face in sort
- 58:23of wraps around? Yes. Sort of like this big sort
- 58:26of like centerpiece. Yeah. I mean, I don't think
- 58:30the pixels do me much justice, really, on this.
- 58:33Oh, you're beautiful. Come on. Come on. Oh, no,
- 58:36I really don't think they do. I should have to
- 58:38glam myself up when I get over there. You know
- 58:40what I'd like? Elaine, next week, do you have
- 58:43any pictures from your youth or from your young
- 58:4520s, 30s, 40s, 50s? Do you have any pictures
- 58:48that you could share with us? Well, not right
- 58:51now. Do it next week. Maybe find them and show
- 58:53them. I'll bring out some pictures of me. I'll
- 58:56share them on the screen of whenever I was growing
- 58:58up. I grew up, whenever we first moved down here
- 59:01from Maine, we moved to Hoopers Creek, North
- 59:03Carolina when I was a little boy. Where's Maine?
- 59:06That's up by Connecticut. Maine is the very northern.
- 59:10Eastern Canada. Yeah, next to New Brunswick.
- 59:13Yeah, it's the very most northern northern eastern
- 59:16state in America. That's where I'm from. And
- 59:18so it's very cold. Yeah. And so but we moved
- 59:22to North Carolina from Maine. We moved to Hoopers
- 59:24Creek, which is where I live today, which is
- 59:26interesting because I was only here for two years
- 59:28and then we moved away. And then later on when
- 59:30I married Holly, Holly was raised here. And so
- 59:32I moved to. How long have you been married to
- 59:34Holly? Six years. Six. And when's your birthday,
- 59:37Rick? In two days, May the 20th. Oh, is it? Yes.
- 59:45Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
- 59:50Happy birthday, Ricardo. Happy birthday to you
- 59:58and many more. Hey, what a beautiful voice. You
- 1:00:02got to sing more. You're going to sing when you're
- 1:00:03down here. And by the way, We have one. Happy
- 1:00:06birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. You smell
- 1:00:08like a monkey and you look like one too. That's
- 1:00:11what they used to say to us here. I'll tell you
- 1:00:13what we used to sing in our church. Happy birthday
- 1:00:15to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday
- 1:00:16to Rick. Happy birthday to you. And then it was
- 1:00:18happy birthday to you for one will not do. Take
- 1:00:22the Lord as your savior and then you'll have
- 1:00:25to. Oh, that's good. That's sweet, isn't it?
- 1:00:28Yes, it is. All right, folks. Well, much love
- 1:00:31to everybody. God bless all of you. I hope that
- 1:00:34this study meant something to you and I didn't
- 1:00:35lose. Oh, it meant a lot to me. That's excellent,
- 1:00:38Rick. Yeah, I hope. And all glory to God in the
- 1:00:42highest. What what I got out of it has really
- 1:00:47changed my relationship with him. And I've been
- 1:00:49able to see in my life how he brought me through
- 1:00:52this absolute tortuous, wretchedness difficulty.
- 1:00:56He has squeezed me. Show me the oil. This is
- 1:01:00what I'm saying Rick. It's delving into it and
- 1:01:03your relationship with God just broadens. It
- 1:01:07stretches outward and inward and upwards and
- 1:01:10downwards and in every which way until there
- 1:01:13is no more temple. It's just God. It's just amazing.
- 1:01:19Amazing and you know what it makes me think of
- 1:01:21like once you get to this level because i also
- 1:01:23think of paul is kind of like an ally who's not
- 1:01:25a figure you got the whirlwind which is the holy
- 1:01:28spirit coming in on those and teaching them all
- 1:01:31of these things and then as the church goes then
- 1:01:33you got paul who shows up kills you know stephen
- 1:01:37and the next thing you know god boom hits him.
- 1:01:40And then Paul's going out and he's like the scribe
- 1:01:43of the New Testament, you know, and he he's a
- 1:01:45firebrand under Gamaliel, you know, this young
- 1:01:48man who's bringing the fire. Paul is a lot like
- 1:01:51an Elihu, too. But wonderful. I love that man.
- 1:01:54I love Paul. I do, too. Yeah. But, you know,
- 1:01:57as as I'm as I'm going through all of that and
- 1:02:03reading all of this stuff and what you just said,
- 1:02:05Elaine, it Whenever Paul opens a letter, I love
- 1:02:08the way that he opens his letters when he says
- 1:02:11heart when he says grace Yes, peace be unto you
- 1:02:15from God our father and from the Lord Jesus Christ
- 1:02:18Yeah, and when you really get the depth of what
- 1:02:20he's saying the movement that you feel inside
- 1:02:23from the man to you as your brother is Depth
- 1:02:27and I love depth and then when he closes out
- 1:02:30a letter like we're gonna close out this episode
- 1:02:33greet one another with a holy kiss. Absolutely.
- 1:02:36Which is what I hope that we we do with our brothers
- 1:02:38and sisters. We greet them and we say God bless
- 1:02:41you. We'll see you guys next week. Yeah. Love
- 1:02:45you very much. Love you all very much. Yeah.
- 1:02:48God bless you. Thanks for the comments. Love
- 1:02:50you.
