Today we are exploring a big topic.
• 0:43
Lots of families are talking about Disney coming to Abu
• 0:46
Dhabi. We will look at what is
• 0:48
confirmed, what is not confirmed, and what exciting
• 0:51
things are really happening right now in Abu Dhabi's world
• 0:54
  of theme parks and entertainment.
• 0:56
Get ready for clear facts, easy explanations, and a few fun
• 1:01
quizzes along the way. First, let's set the scene.
• 1:14
Abu Dhabi is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, and it
• 1:19
is home to Yas Island, a place already famous for theme parks
• 1:23
and family attractions. On Yas Island, you can visit
• 1:27
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, which has very fast roller coasters,
• 1:32
Warner Brothers World Abu Dhabi, which is an indoor theme park
• 1:36
with characters like Bugs Bunny and scooby-doo, Yas Waterworld
• 1:40
Abu Dhabi, which has water slides and wave pools, and
• 1:43
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2023 and features indoor
• 1:48
habitats for marine life, plus the Yas SeaWorld Research and
• 1:52
Rescue Center. There are also hotels, a large
• 1:56
concert and sports arena called Etihad Arena, and the Yas Marina
• 2:00
Circuit for racing. So Abu Dhabi already has a
• 2:03
strong record of building and running big attractions for
• 2:06
families. Now let's talk about Disney.
• 2:10
The Walt Disney Company is known for parks like Disneyland Resort
• 2:13
in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in the
• 2:16
United States, as well as parks in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and
• 2:21
  Shanghai. Disney has officially announced
• 2:23
plans for a new Disneyland Abu Dhabi theme park and resort on
• 2:27
Yas Island to be the company's 7th Disney theme park
• 2:31
destination. The Walt Disney Company and
• 2:34
Miral announced an agreement in May 2025 to create a landmark
• 2:37
Disney theme park resort in Abu Dhabi 1234.
• 2:42
Disney CEO Bob Iger has visited the site on Yas Island and
• 2:46
described it as authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati
• 2:51
  13. Myrill will fully develop, build
• 2:55
and operate the resort, while Disney Imagineering will lead
• 2:58
creative design and provide operational oversight. 1234 No
• 3:04
official opening date has been announced, but based on timeline
• 3:07
shared by Disney executives, it is expected between 2030 and
• 3:11
2033123. Here is the first recent news
• 3:17
item to understand. Disney Abu Dhabi was publicly
• 3:20
announced in May 2025. There's been a press release
• 3:23
from Disney and partnership announcements with Miral.
• 3:27
The location on Yass Island has been revealed, including site
• 3:30
visits by Disney CEO Bob Iger. That means the project is
• 3:34
officially confirmed and in early development.
• 3:37
It is great to be excited about this real project.
• 3:41
Here is the second recent news item connected to this topic.
• 3:44
Construction is very active on Yas Island and in other parts of
• 3:48
Abu Dhabi, but the construction that is clearly visible and
• 3:51
reported today is for projects that have been officially
• 3:54
announced, such as hotels, Rd. upgrades, and expansions to
• 3:58
existing attractions. For example, Warner Brothers
• 4:02
World Abu Dhabi announced a new themed land based on the world
• 4:06
of Harry Potter, which is under development.
• 4:09
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opened in 2023 and continues to add
• 4:13
programs for learning about ocean animals.
• 4:16
Yas Bay Waterfront has been growing with restaurants and
• 4:19
family entertainment. Disneyland Abu Dhabi is still in
• 4:23
its earliest development phase with no construction started
• 4:26
  yet. This construction activity can
• 4:28
make it look like a new big theme park is coming, but at
• 4:32
this time, there is no visible construction site for Disneyland
• 4:36
Abu Dhabi. If Disney and Miral advance to
• 4:39
groundbreaking, it would be shared in official statements.
• 4:43
Here is 1/3 helpful news item. Abu Dhabi has been building up
• 4:47
its travel and entertainment infrastructure to welcome more
• 4:50
visitors by 20-30. Ziad International Airport's new
• 4:54
Terminal A opened in late 2023, increasing the number of
• 4:58
  passengers the airport can handle.
• 5:01
This makes it easier for tourists to arrive from many
• 5:03
countries. Yass Island has also added new
• 5:06
hotels in recent years, such as Hilton Abu Dhabi, Yass Island
• 5:10
and the WB Abu Dhabi Hotel, which are designed for families
• 5:14
who want to stay close to parks and activities.
• 5:17
The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has a 2030
• 5:21
strategy focused on attracting more visitors and growing
• 5:25
entertainment options. All of these pieces show that
• 5:28
the city is planning for more family fun, which is one reason
• 5:32
Disney chose Abu Dhabi for its new park.
• 5:34
Now let's explore who would be involved if a Disney project did
• 5:38
move forward in Abu Dhabi. A company called Miral is known
• 5:43
for developing attractions on Yas Island.
• 5:45
Miral worked on Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Brothers World
• 5:50
Abu Dhabi, Yas Water World and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi with
• 5:54
international partners. Miral is partnering with Disney
• 5:58
on Disneyland Abu Dhabi. If a Disney project happened, a
• 6:01
local developer would likely be part of it and there would be
• 6:04
detailed plans about location, size, rides, hotels and opening
• 6:10
  date. Official theme park
• 6:12
announcements usually include artwork, a site map, and
• 6:15
timelines. Some details like the Yas Island
• 6:18
waterfront location and unique design features have been shared
• 6:22
so far. Here is a quick quiz to keep
• 6:25
your brain buzzing. Question one, is there an
• 6:28
officially confirmed Disney theme park in Abu Dhabi today?
• 6:32
The answer is yes. Disneyland Abu Dhabi has been
• 6:35
announced. There is excitement and real
• 6:37
plans for a Disney Park Question 2 as construction started on a
• 6:42
site that Disney has named. The answer is no.
• 6:46
Abu Dhabi has a lot of construction, but not yet for
• 6:49
  the publicly announced Disney park.
• 6:52
Even though a Disney park is not confirmed, there are real Disney
• 6:55
experiences that have visited Abu Dhabi and the region.
• 6:59
Disney on Ice has performed shows at Etihad Arena on Yas
• 7:02
Island, bringing characters and music to families in a live
• 7:06
skating show. Tours like this are one way
• 7:10
Disney reaches fans around the world.
• 7:12
There are also Disney movies and series on streaming platforms
• 7:16
available in the UAE and Disney merchandise and shops.
• 7:19
So families in Abu Dhabi can enjoy Disney stories even
• 7:23
without a local park. Until Disneyland Abu Dhabi
• 7:26
opens, let's add some fun facts about Abu Dhabi's theme park
• 7:30
scene to help you picture what a mega project requires.
• 7:33
Warner Brothers World Abu Dhabi is one of the world's largest
• 7:37
indoor theme parks, which is helpful in a place with very hot
• 7:41
summers. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is also
• 7:44
indoors and uses advanced temperature control, underwater
• 7:47
viewing windows and light systems that support marine
• 7:50
habitats. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has
• 7:53
Formula Rosa, which reaches very high speeds using a system
• 7:57
similar to technology used in launch coasters.
• 8:01
Building parks like these takes several years, thousands of
• 8:04
workers, and many safety tests before opening day.
• 8:08
Disneyland Abu Dhabi will likely follow this pattern of careful
• 8:12
  planning and staged construction.
• 8:14
So what should you watch for? If you want to track the story
• 8:17
like a junior reporter, first look for an official
• 8:21
announcement from The Walt Disney Company.
• 8:23
That would come from Disney's corporate news site and be
• 8:26
echoed by major news outlets. Second, check for a partnership
• 8:30
announcement from a local developer in Abu Dhabi, such as
• 8:34
Miral, with details about a specific site on Yas Island or
• 8:38
another district. Third, watch for planning
• 8:41
documents, construction permits, and visible signs at a
• 8:44
construction site that clearly named the project.
• 8:47
These are the clues that turn a rumor into a real project.
• 8:51
Keep watching for updates on Disneyland Abu Dhabi, like
• 8:54
  concept art, groundbreaking, and more.
• 8:57
Before we wrap up, let's do a short timeline exercise.
• 9:01
Imagine you hear that a new park is confirmed.
• 9:04
Step one would be the announcement.
• 9:07
Step 2 would be concept art and a site plan.
• 9:10
Step 3 would be groundbreaking, which is the ceremonial start of
• 9:14
construction. Step 4 would be building
• 9:16
foundations, steel structures, and ride systems, followed by
• 9:20
  interior theming and safety testing.
• 9:23
Step 5 would be hiring and training staff, soft openings,
• 9:27
and then a grand opening day. Each step can take months or
• 9:31
even years, which is why large parks often have opening windows
• 9:35
several years after the first announcement.
• 9:38
Here is a quick travel tip for families interested in Abu Dhabi
• 9:42
Right now. You can plan a multi park visit
• 9:44
on Yas Island by staying at a hotel connected to the parks.
• 9:48
There are shuttle buses that go between parks and hotels and
• 9:52
combo tickets that let you visit more than one park over a few
• 9:55
days. Etihad Arena hosts shows and
• 9:58
sports, and the nearby Yas Mall offers dining and shops.
• 10:02
This makes it easy to fill a whole weekend or school holiday
• 10:05
with activities. Let's recap what we learned
• 10:13
today. There is growing interest in the
• 10:16
idea of a Disney destination in Abu Dhabi, with dates like 20-30
• 10:20
to 2032 being mentioned based on Disney's timelines.
• 10:24
Disney has officially announced Disneyland Abu Dhabi on Yas
• 10:28
Island with Miral, but there is no published construction plan
• 10:32
  or announced ground breaking yet.
• 10:34
At the same time, Abu Dhabi truly is expanding its
• 10:38
entertainment world. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi opened in
• 10:41
2023, Warner Brothers World Abu Dhabi announced a new themed
• 10:46
land, Yas Island continues to add hotels and activities, and
• 10:50
Zayed International Airport's Terminal A opened in 2023 to
• 10:54
welcome more travelers. These real developments show why
• 10:58
Disney's project makes sense. For now, the best move is to
• 11:02
enjoy the many attractions already open, keep an eye on
• 11:06
official news sources, and practice smart media habits by
• 11:10
checking if exciting claims are confirmed by the companies
• 11:13
involved. Thanks for listening and keep
• 11:15
asking great questions because curious minds make the best news
• 11:19
detectives grab. Your breakfast feelings, fine.
• 11:24
  Adventures waiting. Don't be late.
• 11:27
  Today's the day we celebrate.
