- 0:23Well, hey guys, good evening.
- 0:26It is John C.
- 0:27Morley here, serial entrepreneur.
- 0:28You're tuned in to Inspirations for Your Life.
- 0:32It is Friday, March 13th, 2026, if you
- 0:38guys knew, today was actually Friday the 13th.
- 0:43And the people that think Friday the 13th
- 0:46is a bad day, it's what you make
- 0:48of it, right?
- 0:49If you think it's going to be a
- 0:50bad day, it will be.
- 0:52My Friday the 13th was actually a great
- 0:53day.
- 0:54So we set our reality based on our
- 0:58thoughts.
- 0:58That's important to understand.
- 1:00All right, guys.
- 1:01So I do want to thank you.
- 1:03If this is your very first time joining
- 1:05us, if you're coming back, I want to
- 1:06say thank you.
- 1:07And of course, welcome back.
- 1:08Thank you so much for being here.
- 1:11If you have not checked out BelieveMeAchieved.com,
- 1:14what are you waiting for?
- 1:15Go check that out after the show is
- 1:17over at BelieveMe.com, BelieveMeAchieved.com, and you
- 1:21can get all my short form and long
- 1:22form content right there.
- 1:25So let's kick this show off.
- 1:28I think a lot of people, to understand
- 1:32what's going on or why things are going
- 1:36on, I think sometimes people get lost in
- 1:43where they're going or why they want to
- 1:46go a certain place.
- 1:48And I think that's an important thing for
- 1:49us all to, well, I think for us
- 1:52all to realize because we create our own
- 1:58reality.
- 2:00And I think that's an important thing that
- 2:02a lot of people in our world just
- 2:05don't understand that we create this reality.
- 2:09We created ourselves.
- 2:11And so, you know, I think sometimes people
- 2:19just don't get things.
- 2:23Not because they don't want to get things,
- 2:28but because of like where they are in
- 2:33life.
- 2:33Okay.
- 2:36And that's a very interesting caveat.
- 2:40Okay.
- 2:41People don't always get how things work, how
- 2:45they're supposed to be pushing forward, but sometimes
- 2:49they feel like they can't push forward because
- 2:51of a situation that they're currently in.
- 2:55And I know a lot of you're saying
- 2:57to me, hey, John, you know, this is
- 2:58great, but how is it that I'm supposed
- 3:01to take part A and part B and
- 3:05come together with something that's, you know, pretty
- 3:08amazing?
- 3:12It requires some patience.
- 3:15Okay.
- 3:21That's important to understand.
- 3:23If you can understand that it requires some
- 3:25patience and that you can do this, then
- 3:28you'll be able to accomplish whatever you want.
- 3:30But what I don't want you to do
- 3:32is to get frustrated because what you want
- 3:35isn't here at the moment.
- 3:38Does that make sense?
- 3:39Okay.
- 3:40So thinking about what you want and thinking
- 3:44about the momentum and the trajectory that you're
- 3:46on is a great thing.
- 3:49But I think sometimes we get lost on
- 3:54our path.
- 3:56Not because we want to get lost, but
- 3:59strictly because we just, we just get confused.
- 4:08And then that confusion turns into frustration and
- 4:12that frustration turns into, yes, a full hard
- 4:17stop.
- 4:19Yeah.
- 4:20Not a, not a great thing.
- 4:21But if we use it from a lessons
- 4:23perspective, then we can actually do a lot,
- 4:28guys, a lot.
- 4:29So again, you're tuned to Inspirations for Your
- 4:32Life.
- 4:33This is series five, show 11, episode number
- 4:36seven.
- 4:36And we're talking all about momentum, action, and
- 4:40living deliberately.
- 4:41That's what tonight's about.
- 4:43I'm your host, John C.
- 4:44Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 4:48podcast host, coach, graduate student, and a passionate
- 4:52lifelong learner.
- 4:54And also pretty soon an author within a
- 4:57few weeks.
- 4:58So today's episode is all about building momentum
- 5:02through consistent action, deliberate living, and intentional decisions.
- 5:11And making this creates unstoppable personal growth and
- 5:14amplifies results in every year of your life.
- 5:15So momentum, ladies and gentlemen, comes from consistent
- 5:19action.
- 5:20The small repeated steps that you take day
- 5:22in and day out compound into real forward
- 5:25movement.
- 5:26Momentum isn't a sudden rush, guys.
- 5:27It's built over time, right?
- 5:32If any of you ever thought about, you
- 5:34know, maybe the old days used to make
- 5:36tea, right?
- 5:37I like to go to my instant hot,
- 5:38but maybe you didn't have an instant hot
- 5:39back then and you had to boil it.
- 5:42And so it took time for water to
- 5:43boil, right?
- 5:44But it did eventually boil.
- 5:46It's just if you're waiting for it to
- 5:48boil, it's like, oh my gosh, is it
- 5:49ever going to boil?
- 5:50Is it ever going to boil?
- 5:50It's like, it feels like it takes forever
- 5:52because you're waiting and every minute seems like
- 5:56an hour.
- 5:57Number two, guys, action converts ideas into results.
- 6:01Action.
- 6:03Inspiration and insight alone won't move the needle,
- 6:07we've said.
- 6:08Each idea needs execution to create measurable outcomes.
- 6:12Living deliberately amplifies effort.
- 6:15And when your actions are intentional, each effort
- 6:18yields more impact.
- 6:22Don't let life happen to you.
- 6:25Make it happen consciously.
- 6:28Be someone who's active in life, not someone
- 6:31who's passive.
- 6:33Number four, guys, avoid forbidden shortcuts.
- 6:35Quick fixes may feel rewarding in the moment,
- 6:38but they undermine long-term growth.
- 6:40Stay disciplined and avoid temptation that compromises progress.
- 6:46Momentum grows with focus.
- 6:48Concentrate energy on what matters most.
- 6:51Dispersed efforts scatters results, while targeted focuses accelerates
- 6:57the forward motion.
- 6:59Number six, guys, action creates clarity.
- 7:02Doing clears uncertainty.
- 7:05The more you act, the more your path
- 7:08becomes visible, clear, and easy to follow.
- 7:12It reveals the priorities and the opportunities that
- 7:17you should be taking.
- 7:19Number seven, deliberate prevents mistakes.
- 7:23The deliberate choices prevent making mistakes.
- 7:27Hasty decisions cost time, energy, and yeah, confidence.
- 7:32Thoughtful action reduces regrets and builds trust in
- 7:37your own judgment, in your own judgment.
- 7:43And I think sometimes when we think of
- 7:44judgment, people think that judgment is bad.
- 7:48Judgment's not bad when we're using it in
- 7:52a manner to measure ourselves and get better.
- 7:57If we're trying to judge others, well, that's
- 8:00a problem.
- 8:01Number eight, guys, small actions compound microsteps.
- 8:05May seem insignificant alone, but over weeks, months,
- 8:09and the time you put in, they produce
- 8:11monumental change.
- 8:13It's like, oh my gosh, look at what
- 8:14just happened to me.
- 8:16Avoid distractions that break the flow.
- 8:18Identify energy drains in your day and remove
- 8:22them.
- 8:23Protect your momentum by guarding your attention fiercely.
- 8:27Yeah.
- 8:28Number 10, guys, consistent routines accelerate progress.
- 8:33Structure in daily habits creates an automatic forward
- 8:36push that builds over the time without requiring
- 8:41constant willpower.
- 8:44It's like a muscle that we develop in
- 8:46our body.
- 8:47And it's like, oh, I got to do
- 8:48more of that.
- 8:49That was fun.
- 8:50I've got to do more of that or
- 8:51I like that.
- 8:54That's what you want to do.
- 8:55That's how you want to change things.
- 8:57You want to get to that type of
- 9:00a world, OK?
- 9:02That's important to definitely understand.
- 9:04And I think if you could understand that
- 9:07one thing that you could make, it's important,
- 9:13OK?
- 9:19That's a very, very important thing.
- 9:23And I know you're probably saying, John, this
- 9:28is hard.
- 9:29I don't want to tell you it's hard.
- 9:30But I want to tell you that it's
- 9:31different.
- 9:33Does that make sense?
- 9:34So if I tell you something's different, it
- 9:38might be uncomfortable for you.
- 9:40It might be.
- 9:42But if you can, let's say, get accustomed
- 9:49to being uncomfortable.
- 9:50I'm not saying you're going to like it.
- 9:52But if you can get accustomed to it,
- 9:54then life will flow better for you.
- 9:57Number 11, action reinforces confidence.
- 10:00Taking action teaches your mind that you can
- 10:03deliver strengthening self-belief and resilience under pressure.
- 10:07I think a lot of times when pressure
- 10:09appears in our life, it's like, oh my
- 10:10gosh, what am I going to do?
- 10:10I'm under pressure.
- 10:11What am I going to do?
- 10:13Well, first thing, do not panic.
- 10:17Do not panic.
- 10:24Do not panic.
- 10:25Because when you don't panic, you realize that
- 10:29you can tackle this stuff a lot easier,
- 10:31all right?
- 10:32Number 12, guys, deliberate living reduces stress.
- 10:38When you live with intention, uncertainty fades away.
- 10:47Each deliberate step and choice that you take
- 10:49creates stability and gives you a sense of
- 10:53calmness in your mind and body.
- 10:59Number 13, avoid actions that undermine progress.
- 11:03Recognize what slows you down, habits, distractions, bad
- 11:08influences, people, things, attitudes, and replace those with
- 11:14behaviors aligned with your goals.
- 11:19That's the key, guys.
- 11:21We all get off track.
- 11:24One of the best trains gets off track
- 11:26once in a while, right?
- 11:27But the key is when we notice that
- 11:30happening, we have to adjust back.
- 11:32So it doesn't derail.
- 11:34Number 14, guys, momentum requires resilience.
- 11:39You want to keep going.
- 11:41You need to be able to handle things.
- 11:42You're in a car, momentum, so you got
- 11:45to be able to handle.
- 11:45If it's bad weather, you got to be
- 11:46able to handle not only seeing where you're
- 11:50going, you got to be able to maneuver
- 11:52the wheel.
- 11:53So you want to have the momentum to
- 11:55keep going through the road, you got to
- 11:57make sure you keep going.
- 11:59You keep going, you have to focus, that
- 12:01there's nothing in front of you that you're
- 12:02not going to hit.
- 12:04And you also want to make sure you're
- 12:07staying in your lane and that you are
- 12:09able to still navigate around.
- 12:12There are going to be setbacks, guys.
- 12:14I'd be lying to you if I didn't
- 12:16tell you there weren't going to be setbacks.
- 12:17Resilience allows you to maintain movement and recover
- 12:21faster when challenges arise.
- 12:24And I think when we get comfortable with
- 12:27challenges, they allow us to move forward.
- 12:32Okay?
- 12:32They allow us to definitely move forward.
- 12:37Actions.
- 12:39Actions, ladies and gentlemen, strengthen discipline.
- 12:42Every time you follow through, you reinforce your
- 12:47ability to stay committed.
- 12:49Discipline is muscle memory for the mind.
- 12:55Number 16, deliberate living clarifies priorities.
- 13:02Deliberate living, not half-A living.
- 13:06When choices are intentional, it becomes easier to
- 13:09see what truly matters and where to allocate
- 13:12your energy.
- 13:14Number 17, avoid shortcuts.
- 13:17Undermining goals, avoid those.
- 13:20Instant gratification often comes at an expense, a
- 13:24price of long-term impact, and one that
- 13:26you didn't realize you were trading something for.
- 13:30Oh, was that what I was doing?
- 13:33I didn't realize I was doing that.
- 13:36Stay aligned, guys, with your purpose.
- 13:40Number 18, momentum builds belief in vision.
- 13:45So when you keep things going, right, you
- 13:48keep the ball in play is the sports
- 13:50terminology.
- 13:51When you keep life moving, right, that alone
- 13:57builds belief in vision.
- 13:59When you keep being able to take steps,
- 14:03action breeds confidence in what you're creating.
- 14:09The more you do, the more you believe
- 14:12in your path, you'll see the changes.
- 14:16Now, many people will be like, well, I
- 14:21did all these things, but I didn't see
- 14:22changes.
- 14:25I said to you, changes are not going
- 14:27to happen overnight.
- 14:32No, they're not going to happen overnight.
- 14:38And that could be something that scares a
- 14:40lot of people, OK?
- 14:44Scares a lot of people that it's not
- 14:45going to happen.
- 14:46It will happen, but you've got to stay
- 14:49on that path.
- 14:50If you are, let's just say you're seeing
- 14:53the yellow brick road, you remember from The
- 14:54Wizard of Oz, if you're on the yellow
- 14:57brick road and you keep staying on the
- 15:00yellow brick road, you're eventually going to reach
- 15:02the castle with the wizard.
- 15:05But if you get off the yellow brick
- 15:07road, you're off your path.
- 15:09Now, you could stop, but if you keep
- 15:12going on the yellow brick road, you will
- 15:14eventually reach the wizard at the castle.
- 15:21I think when we know that we can
- 15:25get somewhere, even if it's not as quickly
- 15:30as we want, if we know that we
- 15:31can do it, sometimes we intentionally pull ourselves
- 15:34back.
- 15:36It's like, oh my gosh, what if I
- 15:39become successful?
- 15:43That's not a crime, but some people get
- 15:44scared of being successful.
- 15:47Number 19, action ensures accountability.
- 15:53Action ensures accountability.
- 15:55When you act consistently, you are accountable to
- 15:58yourself.
- 16:00Results are proof, guys, of your follow through.
- 16:21And that's something that I believe a lot
- 16:25of people didn't know was possible, that your
- 16:30results become your proof.
- 16:34Number 20, guys, deliberate living builds authority.
- 16:41When your actions match your values, and I'm
- 16:43talking about your core values now and your
- 16:48priorities, others around you notice.
- 16:53You don't need to put on a show
- 16:55to let people know, hey, I'm here, I'm
- 16:56here, I'm doing this.
- 16:57No, no, no.
- 16:58They will notice it.
- 17:00Influence and leadership grow naturally.
- 17:06Naturally.
- 17:12Energy draining behaviors, avoid them.
- 17:16Number 21, identify habits, tasks, or people that
- 17:21sap your energy, your focus, and eliminate them
- 17:24so you can protect your drive and your
- 17:26momentum.
- 17:32Sometimes some people just are not good for
- 17:36your path.
- 17:38OK?
- 17:40They're not good for your path.
- 17:41Number 22, guys, momentum compounds through the wins
- 17:46that you have.
- 17:48Not the losses, the wins.
- 17:50Each success, no matter how small, adds weight
- 17:54to your momentum.
- 17:57Each success.
- 17:59Then you celebrate them to fuel the next
- 18:02win.
- 18:03You have to celebrate your successes.
- 18:08I don't care how big they are or
- 18:09how small they are.
- 18:10You have to celebrate them.
- 18:12If you don't, you're going to keep going
- 18:15and be like, what am I doing?
- 18:19Your body needs a pat on the back.
- 18:24And you can give it to yourself.
- 18:26And that comes from the win when you
- 18:28celebrate it.
- 18:30Number 23, guys, action aligns energy with values.
- 18:42Your action aligns energy with values.
- 18:48And most importantly, guys, purposeful effort ensures that
- 18:52your energy is invested in what truly matters,
- 18:57not wasted on the trivial nonsense.
- 19:00OK?
- 19:03The reason we get caught up in trivial
- 19:06nonsense is because of other people, because of
- 19:13other people.
- 19:20And that has the tendency to take you
- 19:28one place.
- 19:42Important, right?
- 19:56That's important to know.
- 20:07That's something that a lot of people don't
- 20:11realize.
- 20:17They don't realize that your actions
- 20:27create the future.
- 20:33But they also do something else.
- 20:36They control how you feel.
- 20:40You might say, well, John, I don't care
- 20:41how I feel.
- 20:42Trust me, you care how you feel.
- 20:45Because if you feel good, you're going to
- 20:49excel.
- 20:49If you feel lousy, you're going to be
- 20:51like, oh, when is this ever going to
- 20:52be over?
- 20:53Right?
- 20:55Number 24, guys, deliberate choices strengthen your identity.
- 21:02Every choice you make reflects who you are
- 21:04becoming.
- 21:06Build the person you want to be through
- 21:09consistent intentional action.
- 21:13Long story short, be the person you want
- 21:17to be from the core that you are
- 21:19inside.
- 21:22Number 25, guys, avoid distractions that erode progress.
- 21:27Stay vigilant against interruptions, multitasking, or mindless scrolling,
- 21:33like people do on their phones for hours
- 21:36on end.
- 21:39Because it steals time.
- 21:41It steals clarity.
- 21:45And sometimes it might even rob you from
- 21:47feeling good.
- 21:50Maybe you didn't get that like, that love,
- 21:54that share.
- 21:54You're like, oh, nobody liked my post.
- 21:58Deal with it.
- 21:59Move on.
- 22:01Number 26, momentum transforms effort into confidence.
- 22:06So moving keeps things going.
- 22:09And moving gets confidence going.
- 22:11Moving gets authority going.
- 22:15As forward motion grows, your belief in your
- 22:18abilities and strategy increases.
- 22:20You ready, guys?
- 22:22Exponentially.
- 22:26I didn't say single.
- 22:27I didn't say double.
- 22:29Exponentially.
- 22:31That's like compound interest.
- 22:34Number 27, guys, action maintains movement through challenges.
- 22:41Even a small step during tough times will
- 22:47help you preserve the momentum and keep long
- 22:50-term goals in motion.
- 22:55You know, in sports, one of the hardest
- 22:57things to do is not scoring the goal.
- 23:03It's keeping the ball in play, keeping it
- 23:06in motion so we don't have a time
- 23:07out.
- 23:10Football, same thing.
- 23:12Keeping the ball in play.
- 23:15When you're on the defensive side, you want
- 23:18to get the ball out of play.
- 23:19You want the clock to run out.
- 23:21But when you're on the offensive side, you
- 23:25don't want that clock running.
- 23:26You want the time.
- 23:29Number 28, guys.
- 23:32Deliberate living ensures meaningful impact.
- 23:36Whenever your action is intentional, your energy is
- 23:39focused on high-value outcomes that matter.
- 23:46You're the one who decides what matters.
- 23:48No one else.
- 23:50No one else knows what matters.
- 23:57No one else knows what matters.
- 24:20Don't ever forget that.
- 24:23Number 29, guys.
- 24:25I'm going to say this, and I've said
- 24:26it before.
- 24:27Avoid the shortcuts.
- 24:30Avoid compromising your integrity because when you take
- 24:33a shortcut, you compromise your integrity.
- 24:37True success is built on ethical consistency.
- 24:42I know that cutting across the parking lot
- 24:45might seem like a great thing to do.
- 24:48It'll save time.
- 24:50Cutting across the parking lot might get you
- 24:54a ticket.
- 24:58And that few seconds that you saved, when
- 25:01you ponder back, like, it really wasn't a
- 25:04smart move cutting across the parking lot.
- 25:07Never sacrifice your values for temporary gains.
- 25:11I know temptation gets us to want to
- 25:17do that because we say, well, if we
- 25:18do this, I can get this.
- 25:21But what's the price?
- 25:24And it doesn't have to be a monetary
- 25:25price.
- 25:26It could be an emotional price.
- 25:30Could affect a relationship, could affect money, could
- 25:34affect your reputation, your well-being, integrity.
- 25:38Those are things that matter, guys.
- 25:42Number 30, guys.
- 25:44Momentum plus action plus deliberate living equals unstoppable
- 25:51success.
- 25:54Momentum plus action.
- 25:58So we can be moving, right?
- 26:01But we take an action and have deliberate
- 26:06living or unstoppable.
- 26:08So we get in motion, we take an
- 26:11action, and we envelop deliberate living and we
- 26:16are unstoppable.
- 26:17So that's unstoppable success.
- 26:21The fusion or culmination of consistency, intentional choices,
