- 0:29Speaker 3: we had that last year.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We have that every year, and we have that every year.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And Apple Spice, that's new.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Cool thing about it, you got 5%, 4%, 5%, whatever beer.
- 0:36Speaker 2: So you can kind of have fun with these.

- 0:43Speaker 3: each beer. I like that. Big fan. There we go.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Get more variety.
- 0:47Speaker 1: This one's 5.3% alcohol by volume, 16 IBUs. And this
- 0:51Speaker 1: is a Marzian style. So Marzan style.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Marzan.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Marzan.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Marzan.
- 0:58Speaker 1: This is going to be more of your more bready,
- 1:01Speaker 1: a little bit, I don't want to say like heavier, but.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Hearty and smooth.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Toasted bread, caramel malt, and light nuttiness is going to
- 1:08Speaker 1: be the aroma.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I'm trying to be around.
- 1:10Speaker 1: The taste is going to be rich caramel, toasted malt,
- 1:12Speaker 1: light toffee, and subtle sweetness. Okay. The body's going to
- 1:16Speaker 1: be medium bodied, smooth, and slightly fuller than a typical
- 1:19Speaker 1: light lager. And the finish is going to be clean
- 1:21Speaker 1: and malty with very little hot bitterness.
- 1:24Speaker 3: All right, then. Cheers. So bready, huh?
- 1:26Speaker 1: Mazel mazel, good things.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Bready with some sweetness. And it smells.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Good, I'll tell you that.
- 1:32Speaker 3: It does. It's got a hell of a head on it, too.
- 1:39Speaker 3: But you can float a cap on that thing.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Look at that. It's pretty good.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Color's gorgeous.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Beers like this, a little bit darker, more bready, maltiness.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Red hue to it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It, i smell it and i taste it and i
- 1:53Speaker 1: think it's sitting outside by a.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Fire yes fire beer this is where it's a little
- 1:57Speaker 2: nip in the air it's like 50 degrees 55 outside
- 1:59Speaker 2: just a little chill just enough to where you get
- 2:02Speaker 2: a fire going right yeah just enjoying yourself kicking back after.
- 2:06Speaker 3: A long day doing i don't know what but uh
- 2:09Speaker 3: you know a little saturday little friday night action um.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Do you know how long sam adams has been making
- 2:14Speaker 1: their october fest.
- 2:14Speaker 3: 74 years.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Not quite that 185 years no it's like 34 years
- 2:20Speaker 1: since 1989 it's like 35 years yeah yeah i'll take
- 2:22Speaker 1: that yeah i was okay with my last guess.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah 35 or 34 yeah i was almost there yeah
- 2:27Speaker 2: your first couple were a little ridiculous 187 years 422
- 2:29Speaker 2: years how old is america fucking eight years before that i.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I can give you comparisons on this one versus the
- 2:48Speaker 1: Sierra Nevada that we just had because it gave me that.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So this one's the Marzen versus the Fest. 5.3% versus 6%.
- 2:56Speaker 1: This one's going to be the reddish-amber color versus the golden.
- 3:00Speaker 3: 16 IBUs, too.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty light. Caramel slash toast will be your flavor
- 3:07Speaker 1: versus the bread and the floral hops of the other.
- 3:11Speaker 3: In this one for sure.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And then the characters will be malty and smooth versus
- 3:14Speaker 1: the crisp hop forward.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It was super hot forward.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I was telling you about that stuff too. Yeah, this
- 3:20Speaker 2: one I was like, it was just hoppy for a lager.
- 3:23Speaker 2: It was hoppy for a fest beer.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I was like, man, this is wild. But anyways, this one,
- 3:29Speaker 3: I mean, come on, they knock it out of the
- 3:30Speaker 3: park every year. Every year. We've had these last three
- 3:33Speaker 3: beers here. I love the Hellas too. The Hellas for
- 3:35Speaker 3: me out of this pack, The Hellas is amazing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Well, you don't know because you never had an Apple
- 3:39Speaker 1: Spice Ale.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I can tell you right now, Hellas is going to
- 3:41Speaker 3: be a lot better.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:42Speaker 3: We'll see. I'm not saying it's a bad beer.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I'm just saying I like the Hellas better.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I will choose to reserve my judgment until after I've
- 3:47Speaker 1: had it.
- 3:48Speaker 3: You don't even like the Hellas more than any of
- 3:50Speaker 3: the other ones. You like the Oktoberfest ones best.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I do love Oktoberfest.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Yeah. That's your favorite out of the pack.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I mean, I can't say it's my favorite because I
- 3:56Speaker 1: haven't had the Apple Spice Ale.
- 3:58Speaker 3: It's going to be delicious.
- 3:59Speaker 1: You know, I don't judge a book by its cover.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I do. Big time. And then I judge it again
- 4:04Speaker 3: on its content.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Well, as you should.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Every time I hear apple spice, I'm like, you need
- 4:10Speaker 2: an apple pie or something like that.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I think of the Spice Girls. Which one?
- 4:15Speaker 1: The seventh one or whatever.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Seventh one? Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Apple spice. Apple spice.
- 4:22Speaker 3: You're so dumb.
- 4:25Speaker 1: This has got an average score on untapped. I'm going
- 4:27Speaker 1: to give you two different scores.
- 4:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So I'm going to give you this year's vintage.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Versus their overall. Okay. Score of all of theirs.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:36Speaker 1: This year's vintage, it's got 867 ratings. It's got an
- 4:39Speaker 1: average score of 3.78 out of 5. Overall, 3.61 out
- 4:46Speaker 1: of 5 out of 439,858 ratings. I mean, this.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Is a good iteration of this. I don't know if
- 4:52Speaker 2: they changed anything. It tastes, from what I remember last year,
- 4:55Speaker 2: tastes about the same. But yeah, I mean, you could
- 4:57Speaker 2: see how that rating could be a little bit lower,
- 4:58Speaker 2: especially throughout the year. Someone might try this, oh, I
- 5:01Speaker 2: don't like Fest or Oktoberfest beers, or I don't like Marzins.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And so then they're like, you know, it goes down
- 5:05Speaker 2: a little bit, but I mean, this beer right here.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Let me go ahead and finish it, and I'll give
- 5:08Speaker 2: you a little... Cheers, Miles and Miles of Good Things.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like a 4-0 on this one. That's how
- 5:18Speaker 2: much I like this beer. And everything about it, it
- 5:20Speaker 2: checks boxes. It tastes friggin' delicious. It's easy drinking. It's
- 5:25Speaker 2: not too sweet. I love the biscuity, the bread taste,
- 5:28Speaker 2: and the hint, a little bit of sweetness.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I love this. It's a banger. Banger.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Surprisingly, it's more of an easy drinker than the Fest
- 5:37Speaker 1: beer we just had.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Because the other one was hot forward. It's a Fest beer.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's their take on a Fest beer, and it's a
- 5:44Speaker 2: collab with a brewery out there. You said from 2010,
- 5:47Speaker 2: that's in the... The brewery opened in 2010.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever, that's their take. Hopper Hour. Yeah,
- 5:56Speaker 3: Hopper Hour.
- 5:57Speaker 2: That's their spin on it this year, which is fine,
- 6:00Speaker 2: but it was just a little too hoppy for a
- 6:01Speaker 2: Fest beer for me.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You want your lagers crisp, clean, and refreshing.
- 6:05Speaker 3: But this thing, this is delicious.
- 6:08Speaker 1: She bangs, she bangs. I'm like, yeah, I'm going to
- 6:12Speaker 1: go with a four on this one as well. I
- 6:14Speaker 1: enjoy this. I thought it was good. And I'm pretty
- 6:17Speaker 1: sure it's good for me.
- 6:19Speaker 3: There you go. I'll give it a thumbs up.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Thumbs up. Definitely thumbs up here. Have you guys had
- 6:28Speaker 1: this year's Oktoberfest? Let us know what you think. What
- 6:33Speaker 1: are you looking for there, Chief? Just looking? All right.
- 6:37Speaker 1: As always, guys, I'm Alan.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I'm BGD.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Talk to you guys later. Deuces.
- 6:41Speaker 3: BF3000 or whatever. BFK.
- 6:42Speaker 2: BFK3000.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Cheers. Later.
