Nancy Nagrant was born in Detroit, graduated from Western Michigan University and left for New York, where she's worked as an actor for more than 20 years. She's now in the cast of "Crystal Lake," Peacock's prequel to "Friday the 13th." She's also just directed her first film, a short called "Gorgeous as You Are," in Waco, Texas. Michigan ended its film incentives in 2015. Nagrant, who rented gear in Austin for her set in Waco, says Michigan may not have given its program enough time.
