- 0:25Speaker 1: Okay, you guys, I asked our very own Noah Lashley
- 0:27Speaker 1: to pull something for me, pull some audio for me.
- 0:30Speaker 1: There was a website called ultimateclassicrock.com and they put together
- 0:34Speaker 1: all this research and they put together a list of
- 0:35Speaker 1: the most hated songs.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The most hated songs in rock.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Because they're annoying or overplayed? Probably all those things. Or
- 0:45Speaker 3: maybe they just get under people's skin.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So I pulled the top six most hated songs and
- 0:53Speaker 1: Some of these, it's under rock, but I don't think
- 0:56Speaker 1: some of these are rock, but that doesn't matter. I
- 0:57Speaker 1: think these are all songs we know, and I think
- 1:00Speaker 1: these are all songs that when you hear them, I
- 1:02Speaker 1: enjoy them. I don't want to hear them over and
- 1:04Speaker 1: over again, but Noah, Noah, what did you think when
- 1:06Speaker 1: you pulled them?
- 1:07Speaker 2: I think the list rocks.
- 1:10Speaker 3: They should be the most loved songs on your playlist?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I get what the list is saying now that I know,
- 1:16Speaker 2: but the song slaps. The song slap. Okay. All right.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I haven't seen this list, but before you get to
- 1:22Speaker 3: number one, I won't take a guess until you get
- 1:24Speaker 3: to number one. Okay.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Don't take a guess until you get to number one.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But when I play the song, let it breathe for
- 1:29Speaker 1: a second before you comment.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Okay. So this is song number six of the most
- 1:32Speaker 2: hated songs of all time.
- 1:35Speaker 3: That was going to be my number one guess.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I feel like this would be in a cartoon nowadays.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I've never heard.
- 1:56Speaker 2: This song in my life. It's in the Lego movie?
- 1:59Speaker 3: It's Starship.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It's the band. It's called Starship. We built this city.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It's not Cobra Starship. No. Starship. Starship. We built this city.
- 2:12Speaker 2: That is the number six most hated song of all time.
- 2:14Speaker 2: That was my pick for number one.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Never heard it. This is the number five most hated
- 2:19Speaker 1: song of all time. Shiny Happy People by R.E.M.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I feel like that's from Chicken Little. I could see
- 2:40Speaker 2: that one.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Could be annoying.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Oh, I love Chicken Little, but I don't recognize the song.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And this is the number four most hated song in rock.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Eisenhower vaccine.
- 2:48Speaker 2: England's got a new queen.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Marciano, Liberace, Satire, and a goodbye.
- 2:50Speaker 2: We didn't start the fire. Billy Joel.
- 2:52Speaker 3: The world's always burning.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Since the world's returning. We didn't start the fire.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I mean, that's kind of iconic if you make one
- 3:09Speaker 3: of the most hated songs ever.
- 3:11Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That means it was probably pretty popular.
- 3:13Speaker 2: At some point. Didn't some band just redo it? Yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 2: Fall Out Boy did. Fall Out Boy redid it. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 2: that's right. That's right.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Their number three most hated song in rock and roll.
- 3:40Speaker 2: How dare they? How dare they? Phil Collins. Lily Collins' dad.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Emily in Paris' dad. How can anybody want to take
- 3:57Speaker 2: Sue's studio? Yes, Noah. Play a Phil Collins record. On
- 4:03Speaker 2: a vinyl turntable. It sounds absolutely incredible. You do that?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yes. My mom raised me on Phil Collins, and I
- 4:11Speaker 3: bought the record just because I got a nice turntable.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And I'm not joking. It is like a masterpiece to
- 4:18Speaker 2: the ears. That is something that I don't want to do.
- 4:20Speaker 2: He's a national treasure, Phil Collins. I don't have a turntable,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and I don't have vinyl.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So Phil Collins, Sousou Studio, the number two most hated
- 4:28Speaker 1: song in rock and roll.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Done.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I'm not a fan. From the hit Tom Cruise movie, Cocktail.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Kokomo by the Beach Boys.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Not their best work.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Peyton looks like she might hate all of these.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I don't know any of these songs.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I'm literally 0 for 5 right now. That's okay. This
- 5:03Speaker 2: wasn't like, what songs does Peyton not know? Well, I'm
- 5:05Speaker 2: just saying, but before when you started, you said these
- 5:08Speaker 2: are songs that we all know, and I don't know
- 5:09Speaker 2: any of these songs.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I grew up in a very different.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I don't think she would like this, actually. Your grandma
- 5:16Speaker 2: would know these songs. She would know those songs. I
- 5:18Speaker 2: don't know if she would like those. Which means she
- 5:20Speaker 2: would fit right in this category. These are songs that
- 5:22Speaker 2: people hate.
- 5:22Speaker 3: That's true.
- 5:23Speaker 2: These are songs people hate.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And the number one most hated song in rock and roll, which,
- 5:28Speaker 1: by the way, before you play it, is a big debate.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Noah told me a fun fact about this song. It's
- 5:33Speaker 2: from a movie. It's from a movie that his parents
- 5:37Speaker 2: was their first date.
- 5:39Speaker 3: What?
- 5:39Speaker 2: How dare they?
- 5:41Speaker 3: Armageddon.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Because I miss you, babe.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And I don't want to miss a thing. This one
- 5:51Speaker 3: actually does sound a little familiar.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I feel like you wouldn't know this one.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I don't, yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:57Speaker 3: This was Aerosmith's biggest hit, and I think that's what
- 5:59Speaker 3: people have a problem with, because they're a rock band,
- 6:01Speaker 3: and this is a love song.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie to you, I enjoy all
- 6:04Speaker 2: these songs.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But they're also the kind of songs, like, I don't
- 6:07Speaker 1: listen to rock in any rock stations, but they probably
- 6:09Speaker 1: play all the time.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Right, and you don't want to hear them all the time.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Without this song, I would not be here. Oh, they
- 6:15Speaker 2: make love. They make love to that song. Damn you
- 6:20Speaker 2: to hell. Oh, my gosh.
- 6:22Speaker 1: We should say thank you, Steven Tyler.
- 6:24Speaker 2: That is their baby-making song. I'll give you a little
- 6:27Speaker 2: fun fact about the song. I was watching what my
- 6:30Speaker 2: dad had on the TV.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Show 60 Minutes, and they were interviewing Barbra Streisand and
- 6:35Speaker 1: her husband, James Brolin. James Brolin is Thanos' dad from
- 6:39Speaker 1: all the Avengers movies, and Interview in 60 Minutes, he
- 6:43Speaker 1: says to the news reporter, he says, my wife, Barbara Stratton,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I love her so much that I don't want to
- 6:48Speaker 1: go to sleep because I feel like I'm going to
- 6:49Speaker 1: miss her.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And Steven Tyler was watching that. And he wrote this
- 6:53Speaker 2: song based off of that 60 Minutes interview. Oh, my goodness.
- 6:57Speaker 2: From ABC News, 2020 continues. Once again, Barbara Walters. The
- 7:00Speaker 2: other night, he was, you know what spooning is, don't you?
- 7:05Speaker 2: I think so.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: So he was like whispering, was holding me and whispering.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Sleeping like spoon stock. Yeah, sleeping like spoon stock, cuddling
- 7:12Speaker 2: in bed. Is that what we're talking about? And we
- 7:13Speaker 2: were just about to fall asleep. I thought, you know,
- 7:16Speaker 2: he says, I don't want to fall asleep. And so
- 7:18Speaker 2: I say, why not?
- 7:20Speaker 1: And he says, because then I'll miss you.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Damn you, Barbara Streisand.
- 7:28Speaker 1: If you wouldn't have slept so beautifully, Noah wouldn't be here.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Why have we said a bad thing? Damn you, Noah.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Damn you, Noah, to hell.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I mean, baby, maybe when we're playing this right now, Noah,
- 7:40Speaker 3: your parents are making.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Love right now. Right now. Right now they're making love.
- 7:45Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Do you think your parents did it on the first
- 7:47Speaker 1: night after seeing that movie? Do you think they hooked up?
- 7:49Speaker 3: My parents have rehearsed the story of how they met.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And they claim that they just stayed up talking the
- 7:56Speaker 2: first night. She was so enamored by my dad's eyes,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and they just stayed up and talked. He does have
- 8:01Speaker 2: beautiful eyes. He has beautiful eyes. I get it. And
- 8:03Speaker 2: I think you got his eyes, huh? You got his eyes.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I do, yeah. You have beautiful eyes. And our eyelashes,
- 8:07Speaker 2: which is why my last name is Lashley. You mean
- 8:10Speaker 2: you guys changed your last name? That's why they changed it?
- 8:13Speaker 2: The Lashleys have known to have beautiful eyelashes for like
- 8:16Speaker 2: 100 years. Oh, it sounded like you.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Guys changed your last name to Lashley because you got
- 8:20Speaker 3: the long lash.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I wonder if my last name would have been originally
- 8:22Speaker 2: receding hairline. Wow.
- 8:25Speaker 3: We'd like to dedicate this to Winifred and Noah's dad.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Make love. Noah's mom, who I nicknamed Winifred. Yeah, you
- 8:33Speaker 2: can use the Walmart card, but keep it under 40 bucks, okay?
- 8:37Speaker 2: Spend the rest with your money. I'm trying to pay
- 8:41Speaker 2: it down, but.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Somebody, somebody keeps sucking your.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Father and I dry. Those are the most hated songs
- 8:48Speaker 2: in rock and roll.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Missed a part of the show this morning? No worries.
- 8:56Speaker 3: It's all there on iHeartRadio.
