- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven to ten R Boy, The Mark Simoon
- 0:04Speaker 1: Show starts. Now, Hey, it's Friday. We've got through the week.
- 0:10Speaker 1: We got a lot to get to. Today, we'll get
- 0:12Speaker 1: to the loss of our great friend, the beloved Ernie
- 0:16Speaker 1: and ASTs we'll talk about him. We'll get to we'll
- 0:18Speaker 1: give you the very latest on the war in a
- 0:20Speaker 1: couple of minutes. We'll get to the save act that,
- 0:24Speaker 1: we'll get to crazy Mom, Donnie, he's doing even more
- 0:26Speaker 1: crazy stuff. Speaking of crazy, that sheriff in the Nancy
- 0:31Speaker 1: Guthrie case sounding a little nuts and a little suspicious.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We'll get to all of that coming up, and let's
- 0:39Speaker 1: get you the latest on the war. Iran's new leader,
- 0:43Speaker 1: son of the Iahtola, the new Iahtola, is now believed
- 0:46Speaker 1: to be not only wounded we kept saying as a
- 0:49Speaker 1: facial lacerations, it's now believed he's probably disfigured. In fact,
- 0:54Speaker 1: Secretary Hexath on camera this morning, daring him to appear
- 0:59Speaker 1: on camera and let's see what he looks like. We
- 1:01Speaker 1: know he lost a leg, we know he's been in
- 1:03Speaker 1: a coma, severe facial lacerations, but Hexith saying and he
- 1:08Speaker 1: would have more intelligence on this than anybody that he
- 1:11Speaker 1: has disfigured, and that's why written statements are coming out,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and he has not spoken publicly about anything. So we'll
- 1:20Speaker 1: see what happens with that. Straits of horm Moose will
- 1:23Speaker 1: probably get reopened, probably next week. The attacks on these
- 1:27Speaker 1: tankers are done in two ways. One by drones which
- 1:31Speaker 1: are unmanned and can be directed from far away drones
- 1:37Speaker 1: with explosives. And the other thing is these speedboats loaded
- 1:39Speaker 1: with explosives that hit the tanker. Those are also unmanned
- 1:44Speaker 1: and like a drone, can be controlled from many miles away.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So you got to get rid of all this stuff.
- 1:49Speaker 1: They're getting rid of those speedboats one by one. You
- 1:51Speaker 1: just got to take them all out. As far as drones,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and these are the most dangerous. Missiles are easier to
- 1:59Speaker 1: blow up stop because we can see the launchers, we
- 2:01Speaker 1: can see where they're launched from. We've taken out ninety
- 2:05Speaker 1: percent of the missiles. Ninety percent of the missiles are gone.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Drones are tougher because you can't see them. They might
- 2:11Speaker 1: be hidden in a basement in a garage until they're
- 2:13Speaker 1: suddenly pulled out. But it's believed we've taken out ninety
- 2:17Speaker 1: five percent of their drones ran. Yesterday released a picture,
- 2:24Speaker 1: a photograph of a warehouse that they had filled with
- 2:28Speaker 1: the state of the art drones, hundreds and hundreds of
- 2:31Speaker 1: drones in this warehouse. They released the pictures, I guess
- 2:34Speaker 1: to intimidate us, but they're probably not thinking in the
- 2:38Speaker 1: pictures that they released. There's probably some tags in there,
- 2:42Speaker 1: meta tags data somewhere in the pictures that might give
- 2:45Speaker 1: a hint as to where they're located. So not too
- 2:49Speaker 1: smart on their part. Now, you've got to remember something
- 2:51Speaker 1: at the end of a war, at the end of
- 2:53Speaker 1: a war, casualties go way way up. Always at the
- 2:58Speaker 1: end of the war with Japan, in the last few
- 3:00Speaker 1: weeks they went crazy fighting back. It's a last dying breath,
- 3:04Speaker 1: last gasp, and they killed more Americans in those last
- 3:07Speaker 1: couple of weeks. Something happened in Afghanistan. So when you
- 3:10Speaker 1: see it ramping up, when you see more returned fire,
- 3:14Speaker 1: more cast that, that's when you know they're in their
- 3:16Speaker 1: last throws and dying. We lost four servicemen yesterday. Now
- 3:21Speaker 1: this was not in a combat or fire or friendly fire.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It was a refueling plane that crashed, not in Iran,
- 3:28Speaker 1: but in Iraq. They still haven't figured out what caused
- 3:30Speaker 1: the crash, but we lost four people. They would bring
- 3:33Speaker 1: it up to about ten service people lost in the
- 3:38Speaker 1: last few weeks, which is horrible. But you also have
- 3:40Speaker 1: to remember, and people aren't aware of this, we lose
- 3:43Speaker 1: a lot of servicemen and women without war, just in
- 3:47Speaker 1: training accidents, about thirty five a year. It's like three
- 3:50Speaker 1: a month that we lose. It happens all the time
- 3:53Speaker 1: with war without war, but it's just just terrible. They're
- 3:58Speaker 1: less launches every day of missiles and all that stuff.
- 4:02Speaker 1: They are have been st the president. We don't know
- 4:06Speaker 1: what it is, but he is talking about unleashing weapons
- 4:09Speaker 1: on Iran that nobody has seen yet. He did that
- 4:12Speaker 1: in Venezuela with those combobulator bombs that just made everybody
- 4:16Speaker 1: paralyzed instantly. So there's apparently some stuff they're gonna unleash
- 4:20Speaker 1: at any point in Iran. And yesterday, it was last
- 4:27Speaker 1: night on X and Twitter that he made that statement.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That's got everybody upset. Now, you got to remember, people
- 4:34Speaker 1: that hate the president, they go nuts when he says
- 4:36Speaker 1: these crazy things. People that love the president back what
- 4:40Speaker 1: he's doing. But then sometimes he'll say something and they'll go,
- 4:43Speaker 1: oh God, why does he have to talk like that?
- 4:45Speaker 1: Why does he have to say things like that? Well,
- 4:47Speaker 1: that's the way he is. He will shoot his mouth off.
- 4:50Speaker 1: He's not a politician. He's totally unfiltered. He will say
- 4:55Speaker 1: things you're not supposed to say. He'll talk in away
- 4:57Speaker 1: you're not supposed to talk. But is the great New
- 5:00Speaker 1: York legend Robert Morgenthaw, who was one of the smartest
- 5:04Speaker 1: guys I ever knew. And we were all together, Donald Trump,
- 5:10Speaker 1: Robert Morganhal, myself, and a whole bunch of people. And
- 5:14Speaker 1: when he'd leave the room, Trump would leave the room.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Sometimes people would say to Morgan, thought, what is it
- 5:19Speaker 1: with that? Why does he have to work? And Morganhal
- 5:22Speaker 1: would always say, and you should always remember this rule
- 5:23Speaker 1: he goes when it comes to Donald. Never listen to
- 5:27Speaker 1: what he says. Just watch what he does. And it's
- 5:31Speaker 1: a good rule. Don't pay attention to anything he says.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Just watch what he does. And if you look back
- 5:35Speaker 1: on his track record, he gets it done, He gets results,
- 5:39Speaker 1: He accomplishes things nobody ever thought would get accomplished. We
- 5:43Speaker 1: were talking about yesterday. Every president and politician for fifty
- 5:47Speaker 1: years promised to end our dependency on foreign oil. He
- 5:51Speaker 1: actually got it done. He did it, so he'll get
- 5:54Speaker 1: it done now. The other thing is you got what
- 5:57Speaker 1: they call the pannikins as opposed to Republicans Pannicans who
- 6:00Speaker 1: panic every time you were in the middle of something.
- 6:03Speaker 1: You remember when the terriffs were first announced and the
- 6:05Speaker 1: stock market plunged a billion points in five seconds and
- 6:08Speaker 1: everybody was panicking. Well, it not only came right back
- 6:11Speaker 1: two weeks later, but it went to all time highs.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It set new records. So it's the same thing here.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Oil prices will spike. Straits of her moose are closed.
- 6:19Speaker 1: This has happened before with the straits of her moose.
- 6:21Speaker 1: There's a lot of times in the past during wars,
- 6:24Speaker 1: during the Gulf War, during the Iraq War, during this
- 6:27Speaker 1: war where you couldn't get through the straits of her
- 6:29Speaker 1: Moose and ships were being attacked and ended up needing
- 6:33Speaker 1: the navy escort. This has happened before. So you'll see
- 6:37Speaker 1: this spike and it'll all get resolved and it'll spike
- 6:41Speaker 1: will go away. Not only will oil prices come down,
- 6:43Speaker 1: they'll hit all time lows. After all of This is
- 6:46Speaker 1: over to another rule to remember, don't follow the big
- 6:52Speaker 1: Washington experts or the media experts when they tell you
- 6:56Speaker 1: about Trump. In fact a good rule. A lot of
- 6:58Speaker 1: gamblers have figured this out. Whatever the experts tell you,
- 7:02Speaker 1: bet against them. Whatever Trump tells you to bet with them.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Don't go with the experts. And what they tell you
- 7:07Speaker 1: is going to happen, it won't happen. Now, there is
- 7:11Speaker 1: an island called Carg Island. It's a little island, but
- 7:14Speaker 1: it contains almost all of the oil refinery, supplies, all
- 7:19Speaker 1: the tanks of Iran. Carg Island is like ninety two
- 7:24Speaker 1: percent of the oil export capability of Iran. Everything is
- 7:29Speaker 1: on Carg Island. We have not hit it. That's a final, absolute,
- 7:33Speaker 1: last straw. If we had to. If we took out
- 7:36Speaker 1: carg Island, that is the end of Iran as far
- 7:40Speaker 1: as their economy. It would completely devastate their economy for decades.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So we haven't hit it. We could also seize it
- 7:47Speaker 1: and try to just take it from them, or we
- 7:49Speaker 1: could also just blow it up and that's the end
- 7:51Speaker 1: of any hope of an economy ever ever coming back
- 7:55Speaker 1: in Iran. So kind of crazy that they put everything
- 7:58Speaker 1: on that one island, but the president at some point
- 8:01Speaker 1: will threaten him with carg Island if they don't get
- 8:04Speaker 1: a new regime. The crazy thing he said today was
- 8:08Speaker 1: as she was. Last night he put out a tweet
- 8:10Speaker 1: that Iran was threatening us again, and then he said
- 8:14Speaker 1: on Twitter, this is in writing, way do you see
- 8:17Speaker 1: what they get hit with tomorrow? And his exact words were, way,
- 8:20Speaker 1: do you see what we do to these deranged scumbags tomorrow.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You're not supposed to talk like that when you're a president.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I think the reason for it was, you know, these
- 8:31Speaker 1: old deep state guys, these Washington swamp people, they're all
- 8:34Speaker 1: yelling and scrubage. The messaging is wrong. He's got to
- 8:36Speaker 1: have the right messaging. You really don't. You can have confused,
- 8:40Speaker 1: contradictory messaging. It's actually a great idea because it just
- 8:44Speaker 1: confuses the enemy. You don't want clear messaging because then
- 8:47Speaker 1: the enemy knows where you are, what you're going to do.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And when they say, well, he hasn't explained the purpose
- 8:52Speaker 1: that you don't need to explain the purpose of this.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You're talking about the Iotola, biggest terrorist in the world
- 8:58Speaker 1: with his death to America. Teach shirt funding Hesbala, the hoodies,
- 9:03Speaker 1: every terrorist, everything on it. It's the biggest terrorist on earth.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You don't have to explain why you took him out.
- 9:07Speaker 1: That's pretty obvious. But you're not supposed to talk like
- 9:10Speaker 1: that with the range scumbag. You're not supposed to use
- 9:12Speaker 1: that kind of language. So what happened about thirty six
- 9:16Speaker 1: hours ago? So actually about twenty four hours ago, they
- 9:20Speaker 1: got I don't want to mention names here, but a
- 9:22Speaker 1: bunch of the inner circle of the president got some
- 9:25Speaker 1: of the wisest old Washington hands on how you're supposed
- 9:29Speaker 1: to talk in a situation like this, and the conference
- 9:32Speaker 1: to him in with President Trump to tell him how
- 9:36Speaker 1: to message this, how to address this, how to speak
- 9:39Speaker 1: to this. I mean, these guys told me this. I said,
- 9:42Speaker 1: first of all, this is going to last ten minutes
- 9:44Speaker 1: and they'll forget about it. But also, you know, him
- 9:46Speaker 1: will probably go the opposode. I think that's what happened.
- 9:49Speaker 1: This was a reaction to that conference call, which he
- 9:52Speaker 1: didn't want to hear. So, hey, we'll get to Corey
- 9:54Speaker 1: Lewandowski coming up. He may have some real trouble. Hey. Ernie,
- 10:01Speaker 1: the legendary New York news man, was one of the
- 10:04Speaker 1: finest people I ever knew. He was the nicest guy ever.
- 10:07Speaker 1: You know that big, smiling, happy, positive Ernie you saw
- 10:10Speaker 1: on TV, Well, that was Ernie off the air every second,
- 10:13Speaker 1: every day everywhere. Everybody that knew him loved him. Everybody
- 10:18Speaker 1: that ever worked with him loved him. I don't know
- 10:20Speaker 1: anybody else you could say that about, but people loved
- 10:24Speaker 1: Ernie Anastes. He was a terrific guy, an excellent newsman.
- 10:27Speaker 1: He came to New York. It was back in the seventies,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and in those days, TV news, local TV news was
- 10:34Speaker 1: a very big deal. It's not anymore. Very few people
- 10:38Speaker 1: watched the six or eleven o'clock news. It's not a
- 10:40Speaker 1: big deal. They're lucky if they have, you know, a
- 10:42Speaker 1: few hundred thousand people watching. But in those days, six
- 10:46Speaker 1: o'clock eleven o'clock news on Channel seven, Channel four, Channel two,
- 10:50Speaker 1: millions of people would watch, and the anchors were getting
- 10:53Speaker 1: millions of dollars a year, and it was a big deal,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and those anchors were of amazing quality. You go back,
- 11:00Speaker 1: you look at can you name the anchors on Channel
- 11:02Speaker 1: two right now? No, who's the six o'clock news anchor
- 11:06Speaker 1: on Channel four. I don't know, nobody knows. I watch it,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't know who it is, nobody knows whether people.
- 11:12Speaker 1: You don't know who they're, nobody knows who they are. Nobody.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So back then it was Legends, it was Channel seven,
- 11:20Speaker 1: it was Roger Grimsby and Bill bu Tell really really
- 11:24Speaker 1: really top top newsman. And then even the rest of
- 11:27Speaker 1: the cast it was Warner wolf on Sports, Storm Field
- 11:30Speaker 1: in the Weather. And then the young guy that came
- 11:33Speaker 1: in there to join the group was Ernie Anastes, and
- 11:36Speaker 1: he was everywhere. He was a Channel two for a while,
- 11:38Speaker 1: Channel four, not Channel four, Channel two, Channel seven, then
- 11:42Speaker 1: Channel nine, then Channel five, and a great guy in
- 11:47Speaker 1: real life. He had been a DJ when I was
- 11:49Speaker 1: a little kid. I remember hearing this DJ on the air,
- 11:52Speaker 1: Ernie Andrews. I found out later that was Ernie Anastes.
- 11:56Speaker 1: At that time they want I'm using his name, But
- 11:58Speaker 1: he was an honest, decent broadcaster you could trust. And
- 12:02Speaker 1: he always talked about that.
- 12:03Speaker 2: If you have a sense of your purpose, it doesn't
- 12:06Speaker 2: have to be some lofty thing. It just could be
- 12:08Speaker 2: a sense of this is why I'm here, making there's
- 12:10Speaker 2: why i'm here, this is why I live that's right.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I'm making a difference somehow. That's how I feel about
- 12:14Speaker 2: my work.
- 12:15Speaker 1: And you hear the way you talk. You always had
- 12:17Speaker 1: that smile in his voice, that positive smile in his voice.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I'm hoping that maybe, you know, we'll say, Okay, we'll
- 12:22Speaker 2: strike the balance. Let's give them the news, put it
- 12:25Speaker 2: in a right perspective, but also give them some other
- 12:27Speaker 2: positive things to think about, so we can feel that
- 12:29Speaker 2: there is some There's a keyword, hope.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:33Speaker 2: If we lose hope, we've lost everything. And I'll say
- 12:35Speaker 2: one last thing, may Angelo. She was wonderful and in
- 12:39Speaker 2: terms of like what we do. People may not remember
- 12:42Speaker 2: what you said or what you did, but they'll remember
- 12:45Speaker 2: how you made them feel.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Now here's another thing about and you don't see this anymore,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and you Ernie Assa's very well for about I don't know,
- 12:54Speaker 1: thirty years. I probably had lunch with them five million times,
- 12:57Speaker 1: dinner with them a billion times, talk to them trillions
- 13:00Speaker 1: of hours, and yet I still have no idea where
- 13:05Speaker 1: he stood politically. I have no idea if he was
- 13:07Speaker 1: a Democrat or a Republican. I don't know if he
- 13:10Speaker 1: liked Trump like he was absolutely neutral that's the way
- 13:14Speaker 1: he's supposed to be as a newsman. You know him
- 13:18Speaker 1: back then, you really didn't. You know, you could watch
- 13:21Speaker 1: Johnny Carson every night, five nights a week for twenty
- 13:23Speaker 1: you didn't know where he stood politically. You could never
- 13:26Speaker 1: tell Jay Leno, who always did political jokes every night,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but you still you couldn't tell. Is he a Democrat
- 13:35Speaker 1: as a republic couldn't tell. And that's really the way
- 13:38Speaker 1: it's supposed to be. But he was an amazing, amazing guy.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Funeral will be on Monday in Westchester. He lived in
- 13:45Speaker 1: west Chester, was in New York all the time, was
- 13:48Speaker 1: here all the time at w O R Hey. Check
- 13:50Speaker 1: out my Instagram. There's some Ernie pictures and some Ernie
- 13:52Speaker 1: video up there. Mark Simone NYC at Instagram and a
- 13:58Speaker 1: lot of great tributes yesterday, day, today, this morning, just
- 14:03Speaker 1: endless tributes to Ernie an Astes, really really great guy.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Remember yesterday were talking about Bill O'Reilly. It was the
- 14:10Speaker 1: day before Bill O'Reilly was on You remember that clip
- 14:12Speaker 1: you've seen that video where the control room screws up
- 14:14Speaker 1: and he's screaming at him and he goes, what, well,
- 14:17Speaker 1: don't live Remember that and I pointed out, that's every host,
- 14:22Speaker 1: every anchor man ever in television, the nicest ones, the
- 14:26Speaker 1: worst ones. There's always a moment where the control room
- 14:29Speaker 1: is screwing up like crazy and the anchor will start
- 14:31Speaker 1: yelling and cursing at it. It's happens not all the time,
- 14:34Speaker 1: but once in a while. Every host, every host, and
- 14:38Speaker 1: anchor has done that at some point, except if there's
- 14:44Speaker 1: one guy that didn't do it. I think it was
- 14:48Speaker 1: I don't think he's ever yelled at anybody ever, maybe Regis,
- 14:51Speaker 1: maybe Regis too, but those are at least the one
- 14:55Speaker 1: exception was amazing. We'll take some calls in a minute.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:01Speaker 1: If you want to talk about Ernie or anything else.
