• 1:15
Speaker 1: it's good. It's good, good, I recommend it.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, what's it about? Is it like nonfiction? It's about AI.
• 1:20
Speaker 1: It's about a family who gets in this accident with
• 1:22
Speaker 1: another family and it's an AI driven car, so really,
• 1:25
Speaker 1: who's that fault? And it's like all about how AI
• 1:28
Speaker 1: is going to be impacting our world. But it's fiction
• 1:31
Speaker 1: and it's a family story and it's like, you know, traumatic,
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: So it's it's good.
• 1:34
Speaker 2: Ooh ooh, very interesting. It's got all the ingredients.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: I've been taking a lot of baths lately because I've

Speaker 1: when I go do host the Critics' Choice Awards, and
• 1:56
Speaker 1: then I come back and really fall apart at the seams.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: It's like cold weather, and the pot is just like
• 2:01
  Speaker 2: freaking havoc.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: Bu the pogold Weather, the pot, all my bad habits
• 2:04

• 2:47
Speaker 1: on tour. I have so many funny stories about all
• 2:50
Speaker 1: the drugs that I've been giving away, and i just
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: feel like I'm a healer.
• 2:53
Speaker 2: You know what I mean. You're like a modern day shaman.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: And our guest today is one of my favorites.
• 2:58
Speaker 1: He's been he's he's a friend of the as they say,
• 3:01
Speaker 1: this is a very gay saying.
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: He's from RuPaul's Drag Race and her podcast Sibling Rivalry
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: and Monet Talks.
• 3:10
Speaker 2: She is currently on.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: Her High Heels and Bad Knees comedy tour and then
• 3:14
Speaker 1: you can catch her on this season of The Traders.
• 3:16
Speaker 1: So please welcome Money Exchange. Hi Chelsea, Hi girlfriend, Hi,
• 3:23
Speaker 1: how are you doing?
• 3:24
Speaker 2: I heard you had surgery recently. I had surgery too.
• 3:28
Speaker 4: On your feet? Yeah we both have beat surgery.
• 3:31
Speaker 2: Yeah we did. How is yours?
• 3:34
Speaker 1: Girl? Did you do one foot or two feet? We're
• 3:36
Speaker 1: talking about bunyan's. Everybody, welcome to dear Chelsea. This is
• 3:39
Speaker 1: this is where we get down to business. I only
• 3:42
Speaker 1: had them on one foot, but I had them, which
• 3:45
Speaker 1: means I had one on the outside, which is called
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: a bunyanette.
• 3:48
Speaker 2: That's a cute term a way to put.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: It, because it's not a full blown bunyan and it
• 3:53
Speaker 1: comes out of like your pinky toe.
• 3:55
Speaker 2: That was my kind of like force majeure like.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, no, no, I didn't mind the
• 4:01
Speaker 1: inside one. It wasn't painful or anything like that, but
• 4:04
Speaker 1: the outside one, I was starting to it was started
• 4:07
Speaker 1: to a peede on my sexual life.
• 4:08
Speaker 4: I felt like, was it that was?
• 4:10
Speaker 5: That was the big one, because the one on the inside,
• 4:13
Speaker 5: the one like inside, it was unsightly.
• 4:16
Speaker 2: The one on yours?
• 4:17
Speaker 5: Are you trying? Yeah?
• 4:18
  Speaker 4: On my inside?
• 4:19
Speaker 1: Yes, okay, yeah, because a real bad bunyon is really
• 4:22
Speaker 1: hard to look at.
• 4:23
Speaker 5: Let's be honest. It's kind of like a bad bunny,
• 4:25
Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
• 4:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to look at a bad bunny either, Yeah,
• 4:29
Speaker 1: a bunny rabbit or a bad bunny, bad bunny.
• 4:32
Speaker 4: Well you know what.
• 4:33
Speaker 5: So, but not only Bunyan's girl I had. I had
• 4:36
Speaker 5: my bunion and toes two, three and four. I had
• 4:39
Speaker 5: a slight hammer toe. So what he did was he
• 4:42
Speaker 5: went and he cut the tendons on the top and
• 4:45
Speaker 5: bottoms of my second, third and four toes. So now
• 4:47
Speaker 5: I can't bend my second thing and four toes. They
• 4:49
Speaker 5: kind of just live this way.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: They just are dead. They're dead.
• 4:52
  Speaker 4: They're dead.
• 4:53
Speaker 2: Do you feel them?
• 4:55
Speaker 4: No? I don't feel anything down there.
• 4:56
Speaker 5: I'm like, fucking mister Deeds, I don't feel anything on
• 4:58
  Speaker 5: those toes.
• 4:59
Speaker 4: You can snab me my.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: I also don't feel my foot like I rammed it
• 5:02
Speaker 1: into my pinky toe into a table yesterday or the
• 5:05
Speaker 1: day before, and the friction was alarming because I was like, ah,
• 5:09
Speaker 1: it was a thud.
• 5:10
  Speaker 2: But I also didn't feel a thing.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: I was like, feels like I was like, oh wow,
• 5:14
Speaker 1: I'm like, who knows if that toe is broken now?
• 5:15
Speaker 1: By the way, Like it's all just I'm like, I
• 5:17
Speaker 1: wonder if I will ever feel my foot again.
• 5:19
Speaker 2: But were you awake for your surgery? You were asleep?
• 5:21
  Speaker 6: Right?
• 5:22
Speaker 2: You want to be yeah, but you awake?
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: Oh?
• 5:24
Speaker 4: No, girl, I was awake from mine.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: I was awakening to what kind of budget are you
• 5:28
Speaker 1: fucking on that you didn't get out of Sezia money?
• 5:31
Speaker 2: Are you talking about? Awake?
• 5:34
Speaker 4: No, he doesn't be good.
• 5:35
Speaker 5: You have to be awake because he needs you to
• 5:37
Speaker 5: tense the toes so we can see that so he
• 5:39
Speaker 5: can see where the tendons are, so you have to
• 5:41
Speaker 5: sew so you can like flex them.
• 5:42
Speaker 2: Did you feel anything?
• 5:45
Speaker 4: I didn't feel them at all, but I could hear everything.
• 5:47
Speaker 5: Okay, And I don't know about you if if you've
• 5:49
Speaker 5: ever heard a fucking tendon being cut, but it sounds.
• 5:52
  Speaker 4: Like it was.
• 5:55
Speaker 1: Any listeners who are still listening I want to apologize
• 5:58
Speaker 1: for this starting a podcas like this. I mean, how
• 6:02
Speaker 1: unfortunate for them to have to hear this. I can't
• 6:05
Speaker 1: believe you had to stay awake during sergy. That doesn't
• 6:07
Speaker 1: sound right. That does not sound right.
• 6:10
Speaker 5: But he was hot, though, he was this hot Cuban doctor,
• 6:12
Speaker 5: so like I was trying to be cute for him too,
• 6:14
Speaker 5: so even in the most painful and in the in
• 6:19
Speaker 5: audibly painful some moments.
• 6:20
Speaker 1: But first of all, you're not being cute to him.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: I mean, you're opening up with a fucking bunyan and
• 6:24
Speaker 1: three hammer toes. So I mean, it's not like he's
• 6:27
Speaker 1: gonna be like you know what I think is sexy.
• 6:29
Speaker 1: Although doctors are good like that if that's their speciality, Yeah.
• 6:33
Speaker 5: Right, doctors get turned on by you and paining you
• 6:36
Speaker 5: at your lowest point, my fucking old dentist.
• 6:39
Speaker 4: I feel like he would.
• 6:40
Speaker 5: I feel like he would come when he would be
• 6:41
Speaker 5: knuckled deep in my fucking teeth just pulling something out
• 6:45
  Speaker 5: of that.
• 6:45
  Speaker 4: I'm like, you're you're hard.
• 6:47
Speaker 1: You like this ship, Well, that's a private fantasy of
• 6:49
Speaker 1: your own. That's not First of all, you said you
• 6:52
Speaker 1: were going to send me mushrooms.
• 6:53
Speaker 2: Let's get on to more fun topics.
• 6:55
Speaker 1: You said you were going to say you called me
• 6:58
Speaker 1: specifically like I want to send you mushrooms, and then
• 7:02
Speaker 1: I gave you my hotel in New York, right yeah,
• 7:04
Speaker 1: and then you drop them there. But I had gone,
• 7:06
Speaker 1: so who knows who the fuck has those mushrooms?
• 7:09
Speaker 2: So you still owe me mushrooms?
• 7:12
Speaker 4: I got you, girl. Let me say I am a
• 7:14
  Speaker 4: mushroom factor.
• 7:14
Speaker 2: I have a drug factor coming to New York. Can
• 7:17
Speaker 2: you send them to my hotel again? Because I'll be
• 7:18
  Speaker 2: there Saturday?
• 7:19
Speaker 4: Did Chelsea? I think we've had this conversation forty nine times.
• 7:23
Speaker 5: I live in La.
• 7:24
Speaker 2: Girl, Wait, I thought you lived back. We do have
• 7:27
Speaker 2: this conversation forty five I live in LA.
• 7:30
Speaker 4: It was LA four years ago. I lived in La.
• 7:32
Speaker 2: So then, why the fuck are you on a zoom, asshole?
• 7:35
Speaker 5: Because I'm in fucking Rochester, New York, literally the worst place.
• 7:40
Speaker 4: In the world. Now, going next thing, I'm doing a
• 7:43
Speaker 4: stand up this weekend.
• 7:44
  Speaker 2: I'm here, Chelsea.
• 7:47
Speaker 5: The comedy club is lovely. Carson Comedy Club is great.
• 7:50
Speaker 5: The city of Rochester needs to be under fires. Somebody
• 7:53
Speaker 5: needs to strike a match and light the whole city
• 7:55
  Speaker 5: on fire.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: By the way, money Exchange is on her comedy tour.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: She's on a stand up tour. So you can get
• 8:00

Speaker 5: with all these hot, fucking, delicious men and my boyfriend

  Speaker 4: We're like, whoa girl. It's great, it's a good time.
• 9:22
Speaker 2: And what was she doing performing on the ship.
• 9:24
Speaker 5: Yeah she did. She just got off a gypsy and

Speaker 5: she did three shows of one night of just her
• 9:29
  Speaker 5: own concert.
• 9:29
Speaker 4: It was fucking divine. She's incredible.
• 9:31
Speaker 2: I love that she is incredible. I like I like
• 9:34
Speaker 2: her reaction to whoever that lunatic or who.
• 9:36
Speaker 1: Somebody on Broadway kind of went off on her and
• 9:41
Speaker 1: for no reason Whatso.
• 9:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, what did she say? She was like, oh, she
• 9:48
Speaker 2: something like they had.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: She basically intimated they had some big beef and no
• 9:53
Speaker 1: idea what she's talking about. But I'm sorry, she's so
• 9:55
Speaker 1: upset with me. Ridiculous, But I think Patty Leapone might
• 9:59
Speaker 1: be bit off center at beaves with you.
• 10:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, she seems so argumentative.
• 10:04
  Speaker 4: Chelsea.
• 10:04
Speaker 5: I need to see you more. I feel like I
• 10:06
Speaker 5: feel like you we don't ever see each other. It
• 10:08
Speaker 5: really breaks my heart when I see you online hangout
• 10:10
Speaker 5: with all these fucking loser drag queens like you did.
• 10:13
Speaker 4: You did Delta work Delta work for.
• 10:16
  Speaker 2: So that's not a hangout.
• 10:17

• 10:20
Speaker 1: go do a podcast because I was doing press.
• 10:21
Speaker 2: You talk about hanging out in personal life.
• 10:24
Speaker 1: In real life, I would be more than happy to
• 10:26
Speaker 1: hang out with you anytime, especially now for the fortieth time.
• 10:29
Speaker 2: I know that you live in Los Angeles.
• 10:32
Speaker 5: Every time you're like, I'm coming to New York visits
• 10:35
Speaker 5: for your birthday, I think I literally flew.
• 10:37
  Speaker 4: I don't know.
• 10:38
Speaker 5: I flew to New York to come to your birthday
• 10:40
Speaker 5: party because I was like, I have to go to
• 10:41
  Speaker 5: Chelsea's birthday.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: That's so sweet because I also had one in LA.
• 10:45
Speaker 4: Did you really yes?
• 10:48
Speaker 2: Oh my god, that is so stupid.
• 10:50
Speaker 1: I had a birthday party in LA to cover my
• 10:53
Speaker 1: LA and New York crowds. I mean, and that is hilarious.
• 10:57
Speaker 1: I'm gonna read Abertie for that ticket.
• 11:00
Speaker 4: Don't believe the your your love is but I want
• 11:03
  Speaker 4: you to.
• 11:03
Speaker 1: Text me when you're in town. I do want to
• 11:05
Speaker 1: hang out with you. I love you, I love your energy.
• 11:07
Speaker 1: You've always got positive vibes. I'm sure your show is
• 11:09
Speaker 1: fucking amazing. If you're listening to this and you need
• 11:11
Speaker 1: to be cheered up, go see Monette exchange on tour.
• 11:15
Speaker 1: And by the way, she identifies as a woman. Okay,
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: so don't.
• 11:18
Speaker 2: Get it fucking twisted, Chelsea.
• 11:20
Speaker 5: Give you be honest. Have you have you ever gotten
• 11:21
Speaker 5: a bonus that you mean drag? You're like, Wow, that's
• 11:24
  Speaker 5: a hot one.
• 11:24
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no no, I don't get boners from drag.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: That's not my thing. I respect drag, I appreciate it.
• 11:29
Speaker 1: I totally like love that people can do that and
• 11:32
Speaker 1: express themselves in that way.
• 11:33
Speaker 2: But it's not a turn on for me.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: Well, but maybe not a boner, but like a jaw drop,
• 11:38
  Speaker 3: Moneta standing yes.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you are you are? Yeah?
• 11:43
Speaker 1: Said jaw drop is a nicer way to put it,
• 11:45
Speaker 1: or a better way to put it. I should say, Okay,
• 11:48
Speaker 1: let's go back to this cruise, because I find cruises
• 11:52
Speaker 1: and ships. As soon as you say the word ship
• 11:56
Speaker 1: is where you lose me. Like if it were just
• 11:58
Speaker 1: a cruise without the ship, that would be different. But
• 12:02
Speaker 1: as soon as I think like ship, my mind goes
• 12:04
Speaker 1: to shipping containers, large large.
• 12:07
Speaker 2: Boats that like house four thousand people. As soon as.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: It's mass like in mass like that, I'm like, I'm
• 12:14
Speaker 1: going on a small cruise to Antarctica this in the fall.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: I'm going to Antarctica.
• 12:21
Speaker 4: Choosing to go to freeze your tits off in Antarctica.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: I want to go, first of all, I want to
• 12:26
  Speaker 1: go commune with the penguins. Secondly, it's a it's a
• 12:30
Speaker 1: psychedelic kind of is the theme.
• 12:32
Speaker 2: So it's a bunch of people.
• 12:35
Speaker 1: Well you're not invited, so I mean you're gonna have
• 12:37
Speaker 1: to get your own invitation. It's a bunch of people
• 12:40
Speaker 1: who do psychedelics and work in maps, which is like
• 12:42
Speaker 1: all of these kind of researchers and like neurophysicists, euroscientists
• 12:47
Speaker 1: who kind of like figure out all of the benefits
• 12:49
Speaker 1: of shrooming or you know, like not in your like
• 12:53
Speaker 1: spare time, but more like medicated sits like medicine journeys.
• 12:58
Speaker 2: That's that kind of under that veil of medicine.
• 13:02
Speaker 1: But how medicinal plant medicine is and how medicinal LSD
• 13:05
Speaker 1: all of those things. So I'm taking one of my
• 13:07
Speaker 1: friends who's really into that, and we're going and I'm hoping,
• 13:10
Speaker 1: I'm assuming there's just gonna be a lot of fucking
• 13:12
Speaker 1: acid on board, you know, and that's.
• 13:14
Speaker 2: Gonna be a great way for me to see penguins.
• 13:17
  Speaker 5: I mean, you know what I said, I'm a big
• 13:18
Speaker 5: acid girl. I've kind of sworn off acid recently because
• 13:21
Speaker 5: my friend gave me some edibles, some gummies. A set
• 13:24
Speaker 5: were mushroom gummies, this set were acid gummies. I was like, great.
• 13:27
Speaker 5: One night I was home, I was I was gonna
• 13:28
Speaker 5: be hold alone for the next couple of days. I
• 13:29
Speaker 5: was like, I want to just do some strooms and
• 13:31
Speaker 5: watch Spider Man into Into the Spider Verse, which is
• 13:33
Speaker 5: a great movie to watch stroms on. And then so
• 13:35
Speaker 5: I take the I take the two gummies and they're
• 13:38
Speaker 5: like half hour in. I was like, wait, what why
• 13:40
Speaker 5: is it? Take us off the fucking kid k in?
• 13:42
Speaker 5: These are I've had these, They're great, come to find now.
• 13:44
Speaker 5: I didn't fucking take the mushroom gummies. I took the acidummies.
• 13:47
Speaker 5: I took two doses, two tabs basically, so I was
• 13:50
Speaker 5: literally I was tripping.
• 13:52
Speaker 4: My balls off in my house alone.
• 13:55
Speaker 1: They were medat acid. I have the best acid. It's
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: a microdose, and it's a sheet of acid. I'm going
• 14:02
Speaker 1: to give you some as soon as I see you
• 14:04
Speaker 1: next time. And I have microdoses of LSD and it
• 14:07
Speaker 1: is pure and it is great. And I've only had
• 14:10
Speaker 1: two people complain and I've given it to about almost
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: a thousand.
• 14:15
Speaker 5: Well, I mean, but Chelsea, I am I'm big stock.
• 14:17
Speaker 5: It always takes me ten times more to get me
• 14:20
Speaker 5: just as equally high as everyone else. I feel like
• 14:22
Speaker 5: a micro dose won't fucking work on that.
• 14:24
Speaker 1: Then you take a couple. Then you take a couple.
• 14:25
Speaker 1: You can take up to like, I mean, you can
• 14:27
Speaker 1: take as many as you want, but I'll take I mean,
• 14:29
Speaker 1: I've taken more than one in a day. I sometimes
• 14:31
Speaker 1: take two, sometimes takes three. But you know what I
• 14:33
Speaker 1: love about LSD microdose to these specifically, is that.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: It levels you up.
• 14:38
Speaker 1: Like if you're hungover or you're exhausted, you wake up
• 14:41
Speaker 1: and you take one and it just brings you up
• 14:43
Speaker 1: to the level you need to beat a function for
• 14:45
Speaker 1: your day. If you're at a party or in a
• 14:47
Speaker 1: party situation and you take one, then it puts you
• 14:49
Speaker 1: in more of a party mood. It's like you direct
• 14:51
Speaker 1: the drug and that's what I love about that. And
• 14:54
Speaker 1: it's not overwhelming. You're not hallucinating, it's not like that.
• 14:57
Speaker 1: It's just kind of a an upper, big good, healthy upper.
• 15:01
Speaker 1: It doesn't make you feel sweaty or sometimes when I
• 15:04
Speaker 1: do shrooms, I'm kind of off of shrooms lately, although
• 15:07
Speaker 1: I got a big bag when I was in Vegas
• 15:08
Speaker 1: this weekend. Somebody gave me a huge friend of mine
• 15:10
Speaker 1: brought a huge bag of shrooms.
• 15:12
Speaker 2: I wonder where those are.
• 15:13
Speaker 1: And but shrooms sometimes, like I like real mushrooms, but
• 15:17
Speaker 1: when you sometimes take a capsules are a middle bit
• 15:22
Speaker 1: nauseous when I'm coming up, and I.
• 15:24
  Speaker 3: Don't like not a fun high. It's not a giggly
• 15:26
Speaker 3: fun I feel like it is it.
• 15:28
Speaker 5: It is agree that Catherine agree that, But also the
• 15:30
Speaker 5: real ones don't make me yawn. Do you get do
• 15:32
Speaker 5: you get the mushroom yawns? I just thought yawning every
• 15:34
  Speaker 5: two fucking.
• 15:35
Speaker 1: Yawn when you're coming up on them. That's a thing.
• 15:38
Speaker 1: It's like you yawn when you're about to get high. Yes,
• 15:40
Speaker 1: that's how you know it's working. But then it should
• 15:43
Speaker 1: stop once you're high? Are you continue yawning the entire time?
• 15:47
  Speaker 4: Sleep?
• 15:48
Speaker 2: Take your mouth shut when you take them?
• 15:50
Speaker 4: No, how do I fit the dicks in it? My
• 15:53
Speaker 4: mouth is closed just right?
• 15:54
  Speaker 2: Rather, that's right.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: I forgot Sorry, can't you use your butt for all
• 15:59
  Speaker 1: the dicks?
• 16:01
Speaker 2: Just have someone else it open?
• 16:03
  Speaker 4: Oh my god.
• 16:03
Speaker 5: I opened up the cruise and I said this joke
• 16:05
Speaker 5: on stage. I'm like, you know about me, Listen if
• 16:07
Speaker 5: you see me at a party. It was at the
• 16:09
Speaker 5: end of the set. I was like, if you see
• 16:10
Speaker 5: me at one of these parties. I forgot all my
• 16:11
Speaker 5: drugs at home. So if I come to you, and
• 16:14
Speaker 5: if I come at you with my nose, whatever drug
• 16:16
Speaker 5: it is, just put it fucking put it up there.
• 16:18
Speaker 4: I'll sniff whatever it is. Right.
• 16:20
Speaker 5: You should not say that to three thousand name men.
• 16:24
Speaker 2: And I know that, And you're the gay one.
• 16:27
Speaker 5: I was everywhere I've heard people just pushing things at me,
• 16:30
Speaker 5: and I was. I was saying no for the most
• 16:32
Speaker 5: part until until unless I looked at someone. I'm like,
• 16:34
Speaker 5: you know what, you look trustworthy shore or I'll go
• 16:36
Speaker 5: with you. And this guy I was he asked me,
• 16:38
Speaker 5: do you want a little bump or a big of mine.
• 16:40
Speaker 5: I said, you know, I don't know, you just give
• 16:42
Speaker 5: me a medium sized bump. He gave me the biggest
• 16:46
Speaker 5: bum of Kennemede I have ever taken in my life.
• 16:48
Speaker 5: And I thought it was a little bumped, so like
• 16:51
Speaker 5: ten minutes and I'm like, oh, oh, this is a
• 16:52
Speaker 5: big bump. So I literally I run to the bathroom
• 16:55
Speaker 5: and I locked myself in a stall and sit there
• 16:57
Speaker 5: for thirty minutes to let it like wayed myself.
• 17:00
Speaker 1: Break down ketamine for me. I did once take ketamine.
• 17:03
Speaker 1: I think I snorted it. It was years ago with
• 17:05
Speaker 1: two gay guys, of course, and I was like, oh,
• 17:07
Speaker 1: I want to see you because everyone that was when
• 17:09
Speaker 1: Kenemine kind of hit the scene and everyone, all gay
• 17:11
Speaker 1: guys were taking it and they're like it's great, it's relaxing,
• 17:14
Speaker 1: da da da, And I'm like relaxing for anal sex
• 17:17
Speaker 1: or relaxing like I mean, what's the delineation here? And
• 17:20
Speaker 1: they're like, no, you're gonna like it, and I honestly
• 17:22
Speaker 1: just did. I did a line of it, and I
• 17:23
Speaker 1: was like, I don't really feel that much, So really,
• 17:26
Speaker 1: what maybe I didn't do? Maybe it wasn't good Kenemine
• 17:29
Speaker 1: or who knows, maybe I didn't do it enough, but
• 17:31
Speaker 1: what tell me about Kenemine?
• 17:32
Speaker 2: Like what is so great about it?
• 17:34
Speaker 5: So it's like dissociated. So if you're I finally that.
• 17:38
  Speaker 2: That's what I don't like dissociation.
• 17:39
Speaker 5: Oh I do like that though, because like especially when
• 17:42
Speaker 5: you when you're at a club with like good music,
• 17:44
Speaker 5: it kind of lets you like like lets you detach
• 17:47
Speaker 5: whatever the music is going on, and like you detach
• 17:50
Speaker 5: one of them, whatever the lyrics are, and you're just
• 17:52
Speaker 5: getting hit with the vibes of the music. So like
• 17:54
Speaker 5: the music feels better, dancing feels a little better.
• 17:59
  Speaker 4: I don't know it.
• 17:59
Speaker 5: It lets you detach a little bit, which I enjoy
• 18:02
Speaker 5: at a club with music, Wow.
• 18:03
  Speaker 4: I want to do I wouldn't.
• 18:04
Speaker 5: I would. I would not want to be in a
• 18:06
Speaker 5: k hole at a club. No, but like a little
• 18:08
Speaker 5: bump at a at a party, yes.
• 18:10
Speaker 2: And the k holes when you do more than a
• 18:12
  Speaker 2: little bump.
• 18:13
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's a big bump. And you are like
• 18:15
Speaker 5: your fucking doctor strange into the spider verss. So you
• 18:18
Speaker 5: are you are detached, girl, You are.
• 18:21
Speaker 1: What you described like disassociating and letting the beat carry
• 18:24
Speaker 1: your vibe is something that I could use when I'm
• 18:26
Speaker 1: dancing because I don't have any rhythm. So Akedemy sounds
• 18:30
Speaker 1: like I should disassociate for my body because my body's
• 18:33
Speaker 1: stopping me from vibing. The only thing in the world
• 18:37
Speaker 1: I'm self conscious about. Not the only thing in the world,
• 18:39
Speaker 1: but it's my one major thing that I'm self conscious
• 18:42
Speaker 1: about is my dancing. So I always have to take
• 18:44
Speaker 1: a drug if I'm going to go dancing. So I
• 18:46
Speaker 1: could just loose it up and not give a shit
• 18:48
Speaker 1: that I don't have great moves.
• 18:49
Speaker 5: Ketamy would be great for you.
• 18:51
Speaker 1: Okay, well, let's get to know for the next dance
• 18:53
Speaker 1: party I get forced to go to.
• 18:54
Speaker 4: But I don't always love snorting things.
• 18:56
Speaker 2: So have you ever snorted adderall?
• 18:57
Speaker 4: I've only have a snorted academy. I've never storted anything else.
• 19:00
Speaker 2: Okay, I want snort an adderall. And that was really alarming.
• 19:05
  Speaker 5: I make I couldn't.
• 19:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to go to a charity event.
• 19:10
Speaker 1: I had flown in to San Francisco from I don't
• 19:13
Speaker 1: know where, somewhere internationally. This was like fifteen years ago,
• 19:16
Speaker 1: and I had a friend who was like, I was like,
• 19:18
Speaker 1: I'm dead. I have to go speak at this event
• 19:20
Speaker 1: about this charity I was representing, which I actually will,
• 19:23
Speaker 1: of course, will remain nameless, otherwise people will connect the dots.
• 19:26
  Speaker 1: I was like, I'm dead. I can't I can't keep
• 19:28
Speaker 1: my eyes open. And he's like, do you have any
• 19:29
Speaker 1: adderoll And I said yeah. He goes snort it, like
• 19:31
Speaker 1: that's the best way to like fucking get I got
• 19:34
Speaker 1: on stage and was talking for two hours. I couldn't
• 19:38
Speaker 1: shut the fuck up. I was so obnoxious. I was
• 19:41
Speaker 1: so annoying. And then when I got and I had
• 19:43
Speaker 1: the worst headache the next day for like four hours.
• 19:46
Speaker 1: I woke up and I just felt like a whore
• 19:48
Speaker 1: on the loose, and I was like, I will never
• 19:51
Speaker 1: ever shove that shit up my nose again. I don't
• 19:54
Speaker 1: think i've ever done adderall. Oh that's not true. I've
• 19:56
Speaker 1: had an adderall since then, but I haven't snorted it.
• 19:58
Speaker 2: I would never do that again.
• 20:00
Speaker 1: No, I don't love shoving shit up my nose the
• 20:02
Speaker 1: way that I used to when I was in my thirties.
• 20:04
Speaker 4: I don't like it at all.
• 20:05
  Speaker 5: I hate it. So I hate i'vemving a cocaine or
• 20:09
Speaker 5: anything like that because I just don't like how it feels.
• 20:10
Speaker 5: I do ketamine. But what I do is I do
• 20:12
Speaker 5: this thing where they have these like wax lozenges and
• 20:15
Speaker 5: you take it and each one is about sixty milligrams
• 20:18
Speaker 5: and you put it just in your in your thing
• 20:19
Speaker 5: like editable, and it just like dissolves over like five
• 20:21
Speaker 5: minutes and then you get the same effects as.
• 20:23
Speaker 2: If you snorted, like in your cheek sort of thing.
• 20:25
Speaker 5: Yeah, in your cheek. Yeah.
• 20:26
Speaker 2: I like all the different systems of delivery drugs have.
• 20:29
Speaker 4: Now you know thing, have you have you ever boothed?
• 20:32
  Speaker 2: What's a boot?
• 20:33
  Speaker 7: No?
• 20:33
Speaker 2: What's a booth? That sounds like a fart? And then
• 20:35
Speaker 2: like something to do with your.
• 20:37
Speaker 5: Very very adjacent, very close to you put it in
• 20:39
Speaker 5: your ba hole. Oh and it's like instant.
• 20:43
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah. I heard stories about you know, I
• 20:45
  Speaker 2: heard stories.
• 20:46
Speaker 1: About like you know, rock stars in the seventies when
• 20:48
Speaker 1: they couldn't when they would because people would do so
• 20:50
Speaker 1: much blow that their noses would collapse the bridge of
• 20:53
Speaker 1: their nose or the stuff that's inside the cartilage, they
• 20:56
Speaker 1: would like burn a hole through it.
• 20:57
Speaker 2: So then they started.
• 20:58
Speaker 1: Putting coke up their assholes to get hot, because that's
• 21:00
Speaker 1: then it goes directly into your bloodstream, But why not
• 21:03
Speaker 1: just do a gummy and wipe it around in your mouth.
• 21:05
Speaker 2: Doesn't that have the same effect? Or maybe not, it doesn't.
• 21:08
Speaker 5: I think there are so many beautiful and delicious blood
• 21:11
Speaker 5: vessels in your asshole. I think that when you get
• 21:13
Speaker 5: the drugs right there, it just really just and takes
• 21:17
  Speaker 5: it right in.
• 21:18
Speaker 2: How are you enjoying being on tour? Are you with
• 21:20
  Speaker 2: your lover?
• 21:20
  Speaker 5: Is?
• 21:21
Speaker 2: Are they there? Or are you by yourself?
• 21:23
Speaker 5: Not by myself? It's just me and my assistant.
• 21:25
  Speaker 3: Hi.
• 21:26
Speaker 4: He doesn't really come on the road with me.
• 21:27
Speaker 5: You know. That was the really big part of our relationship,
• 21:30
Speaker 5: like growing to discover like how because I am super independent.
• 21:34
Speaker 5: I like before my boyfriend, I had one boyfriend before him,
• 21:36
Speaker 5: but we were just to get the fight five minutes.
• 21:37
  Speaker 4: It wasn't a real relationship.
• 21:38
Speaker 2: This is my first, like real really, how long have
• 21:40
Speaker 2: you guys been together?
• 21:42
  Speaker 4: Four years?
• 21:42
Speaker 2: Okay, so that's serious.
• 21:44
Speaker 5: Yeah. So and then so he is very codependent. I'm
• 21:49
Speaker 5: super independent. So finding that balance of like, bitch, yes,
• 21:54
Speaker 5: I want you to feel valued and me being around,
• 21:56
Speaker 5: but you have to value my time and my solidarity.
• 21:58
Speaker 5: So he comes things here and there like he came
• 22:01
Speaker 5: with me on the cruise which was ten days, and
• 22:03
Speaker 5: so we did did that together. So now I'm going
• 22:06
Speaker 5: to do this stuff on myself and maybe a few
• 22:09
  Speaker 5: dates in October.
• 22:10
  Speaker 4: And remember came.
• 22:11
Speaker 1: I think also being on the road by yourself is
• 22:13
Speaker 1: just a better way. Like people always say they get
• 22:15
Speaker 1: lonely on the road, I'm like, no, no, I don't
• 22:16
Speaker 1: get lonely on the road. I need that time alone
• 22:19
Speaker 1: where I don't have anything to do all day until
• 22:21
  Speaker 1: the show.
• 22:22
  Speaker 5: I like that.
• 22:23
Speaker 2: That is my time to fucking lie on my ass
• 22:25
Speaker 2: and watch TV. Or if I'm in a city that's worth.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: Seeing and going out, you know, like when I went
• 22:30
Speaker 1: to Europe, I was out and about every day I was.
• 22:32
Speaker 1: I never turned to the television on, you know. But
• 22:35
Speaker 1: like if you're in a city that's not happening, then
• 22:38
Speaker 1: you know you don't want to expose someone else to that.
• 22:42
Speaker 5: Yeah, and I want to sit down. I want to
• 22:43
Speaker 5: I want to fucking read my book, order some order
• 22:45
  Speaker 5: some fucks.
• 22:46
Speaker 2: In the gym. I love going in the gym at
• 22:48
Speaker 2: a hotel. That's my favorite activity.
• 22:50
Speaker 1: I love That's when I get my best workouts in,
• 22:52
Speaker 1: when my trainer is nowhere to be seen and I'm
• 22:54
Speaker 1: on my own. So how have the crowds been? Are
• 22:59
Speaker 1: there any cities that you've been to that you were
• 23:01
  Speaker 1: really surprised about?
• 23:02
Speaker 5: Ooh, I was really surprised about Sacramento because I mean,
• 23:05
Speaker 5: I've done drag shows and Sacramento, but you know, me
• 23:08
Speaker 5: doing stand up. I'm wanted to be the Santa for
• 23:10
Speaker 5: what since twenty twenty one? So for four years now,
• 23:14
  Speaker 5: So that's.
• 23:14
Speaker 1: When I started construction on my house twenty twenty one.
• 23:17
Speaker 4: I've heard about this house. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, how
• 23:20
Speaker 4: are you moving in?
• 23:21
Speaker 2: Great question? Great question. I don't know.
• 23:24
Speaker 1: And it's handler handlers. Unreal, It is unreal. I can't
• 23:31
Speaker 1: believe this is my life. I make millions of dollars
• 23:35
Speaker 1: a year, yet I am staying in the guest room
• 23:38
Speaker 1: of a fucking friend's house for four years.
• 23:41
Speaker 4: Which is a great friend. Let me tell you something.
• 23:44
  Speaker 8: This is it.
• 23:45
Speaker 2: By the way, it's not the same friend.
• 23:47
Speaker 1: I have to keep fucking moving because otherwise I'm going
• 23:49
Speaker 1: to ruin all my friendships.
• 23:51
Speaker 5: Yeah, I was like, I would tolerate someone saying with
• 23:53
Speaker 5: me for maybe a month until I'm like, okay, babes,
• 23:56
Speaker 5: we got to figure it out.
• 23:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly a month is mine. Actually, I'm moving out now.
• 23:59
Speaker 1: I just got another rental to move out so that
• 24:01
  Speaker 1: I don't overstay my welcome with a friend that I'm
• 24:03
Speaker 1: staying with because she's been so hospitable and I really
• 24:06
Speaker 1: just don't want to, like, you know, it's we're having
• 24:08
Speaker 1: a really nice time together, so I want to.
• 24:10
Speaker 2: Leave while it's hot, you know what I mean. Yeah,
• 24:12
Speaker 2: I don't want her to be like, when.
• 24:13
Speaker 1: The fuck is this woman gonna get out of my face?
• 24:15
Speaker 2: Because I don't just come with me.
• 24:16
Speaker 1: I come with my housekeeper and then my dog person,
• 24:19
Speaker 1: and then my dog and then it's a whole factory
• 24:21
Speaker 1: of people that come over every morning to make sure
• 24:23
Speaker 1: I'm awake and go into.
• 24:25
Speaker 4: Me over to that.
• 24:26
Speaker 1: No, but they have to perform for me because they
• 24:28
Speaker 1: think because I have no house, so they have to
• 24:31
Speaker 1: do something in order.
• 24:32
Speaker 2: They're like, well, you're paying me.
• 24:34
Speaker 1: I'm never going to like suspend their payment because I
• 24:36
Speaker 1: don't have the house, you know what I mean.
• 24:37
Speaker 2: So I pay them.
• 24:38
Speaker 1: I've been paying everyone for four years to work at
• 24:40
Speaker 1: my house, but I don't have a house.
• 24:42
Speaker 2: So they just follow me wherever I go.
• 24:44
Speaker 1: While I'm in the country at least it's a hot
• 24:46
Speaker 1: mess anyway, you know what I mean? I need to
• 24:48
Speaker 1: call a podcast like this and get some fucking advice.
• 24:52
Speaker 4: What I renovate in my house?
• 24:54
  Speaker 5: I mean I so I bought the house and I
• 24:56
Speaker 5: was like, you know what, so people renovating houses, I'm
• 24:59
Speaker 5: I'm I'm greg gonna do it. Two months into renovating,
• 25:02
Speaker 5: I was like this, I way over and wait in
• 25:04
Speaker 5: way in over my head. I can't do this. I
• 25:06
Speaker 5: found a friend of mine. He used to be the
• 25:08
Speaker 5: senior vice president of merchandising for MAC for like twenty
• 25:11
Speaker 5: five years. He had just retired and moved to LA.
• 25:13
  Speaker 5: He's like, what you're doing? I was like, I just
• 25:14
Speaker 5: bought this house. Renovating is ridiculous. I don't know what
• 25:17
Speaker 5: fucking plugs outlets or a Venetian plaster. I don't know
• 25:20
Speaker 5: any of these fucking terms. And then he came on
• 25:23
Speaker 5: and he project managed able thing for me. And he
• 25:24
Speaker 5: is like a rude, nasty, angry gay that just gathered
• 25:29
Speaker 5: those fucking of those fucking contractors and he got it
• 25:32
Speaker 5: done for me in two and a half years.
• 25:33
Speaker 1: I hope you chef some ketamine straight up his ass.
• 25:36
Speaker 1: Alos a big thank you. I really hope you did,
• 25:38
Speaker 1: because he deserves He sounds like he deserves it. The
• 25:40
Speaker 1: more people bring I bring onto this project, the longer
• 25:43
  Speaker 1: it takes.
• 25:44
Speaker 5: Are you building the taj Mahal?
• 25:46
Speaker 2: You would think? So, I mean, no, it's cursed because
• 25:48
Speaker 2: it was RFK Junior's house. Yeah it's cursed.
• 25:51
Speaker 5: Oh no, fuck girl, that's what girl? Ye had they
• 25:54
Speaker 5: put that? You gonna you're gonna be talking like Yang,
• 25:57
Speaker 5: You're gonna have a crazy voice.
• 25:59
Speaker 2: I ran into that fuck an asshole RFK at some point.
• 26:01
Speaker 1: I have so much to say to him, not that
• 26:04
Speaker 1: he would sit there and listen to it, because I
• 26:05
Speaker 1: don't think he can even comprehend information.
• 26:07
Speaker 2: He's so stupid, I mean, and shovel milk in his hand.
• 26:11
Speaker 2: He needs a ketemine up his house. We need to.
• 26:16
Speaker 1: Start boothing people. That's what I want to do. That'll
• 26:18
Speaker 1: be a good way for me to channel my anger.
• 26:22
Speaker 5: But oh sorry, So Sacramento. I love Sacramento. Sacramento is
• 26:25
Speaker 5: a really good time. I performed eight years ago and
• 26:27
Speaker 5: drag but never doing stand up, and they would just
• 26:29
Speaker 5: and what I realized to every audience, every comedy club,
• 26:33
Speaker 5: theor whatever I go to that was like your audience
• 26:36
Speaker 5: tips really well. I'm like, yeah, the gays and girls
• 26:39
Speaker 5: and days we tip like we appreciate service workers. We
• 26:43
Speaker 5: appreciate when you make us good cocktails, and we showed
• 26:45
Speaker 5: that with my money. I'm like, these fucking straight people
• 26:47
Speaker 5: that come to your show, to your club, I can't
• 26:49
Speaker 5: speak with them, but the gays, girls and days, we
• 26:51
Speaker 5: spend money on goods, on good service.
• 26:53
  Speaker 2: Well.
• 26:54
Speaker 1: But also most of us are either like with child
• 26:56
Speaker 1: free or you know, single, so I have the same audio.
• 27:00
Speaker 2: It's women and gays, right, And that's right because.
• 27:02
Speaker 1: People once they start having children and I'm like, well
• 27:05
Speaker 1: I have I need this money for that, and they
• 27:06
Speaker 1: become more penurious with their money, and I feel like
• 27:09
Speaker 1: that's another reason not to have children.
• 27:11
Speaker 2: So you could be a better tipper.
• 27:13
Speaker 4: Yeah, hell yeah, Chelsea.
• 27:15
  Speaker 5: Oh my god.
• 27:16
Speaker 4: I mean I need advice really quick.
• 27:18
Speaker 5: So the work for four years in he wants children.
• 27:22
  Speaker 5: I don't want children. I don't not want children, but
• 27:26
Speaker 5: I think I do. I do not want children, which
• 27:29
Speaker 5: means I should have them, you know what I mean.
• 27:31
Speaker 5: I'm too much on the fence right to like want
• 27:34
Speaker 5: to have kids, Like I feel people who want kids
• 27:36
Speaker 5: should be like I want children more than I want
• 27:38
Speaker 5: my next breath. I want to go to the PTA,
• 27:42
Speaker 5: I want to drive the car with the kid, like
• 27:44
Speaker 5: I am not that.
• 27:45
Speaker 2: No, no, and you never will be. I will never
• 27:48
Speaker 2: be that way, right, You're never going to be like that.
• 27:50
Speaker 1: So I think that's very good. What you're saying is
• 27:51
Speaker 1: like you don't desire it. I feel like, if you're
• 27:54
Speaker 1: going to be a child, you have to desire it
• 27:55
  Speaker 1: so badly.
• 27:56
Speaker 2: Is it a deal breaker for your partner and to
• 27:58
  Speaker 2: have kids?
• 27:59
Speaker 5: I mean we you know what we did, We didn't
• 28:01
Speaker 5: talk about deal breakers. Like at the beginning, we're kind
• 28:03
Speaker 5: of like, yeah, we'll get there, and now we're four
• 28:05
Speaker 5: years in and it's like I really want children. I'm like, well,
• 28:07
  Speaker 5: I don't know if I want.
• 28:08
Speaker 1: Children, you know, yeah, I would try and push that
• 28:10
Speaker 1: as long as you can too, you know.
• 28:13
Speaker 2: But conversely, on the other side of the coin.
• 28:15
Speaker 1: I do believe that if you do have a child
• 28:18
Speaker 1: that is brought into your life because your partner feels
• 28:21
Speaker 1: so vehemently for it, is so vehemently like passionate about
• 28:24
  Speaker 1: having a baby.
• 28:25
Speaker 2: You are going to fucking love that baby.
• 28:28
Speaker 1: It's not like you're going to find and you're going
• 28:29
Speaker 1: to have a kid and be like, I don't like it.
• 28:31
Speaker 1: That doesn't happen, you know, yes it does. Well, it
• 28:35
Speaker 1: doesn't happen when somebody. It doesn't happen to people like us,
• 28:39
Speaker 1: Like I have children in my life, and I fucking
• 28:41
  Speaker 1: deal with it.
• 28:41
Speaker 2: I don't hit them. I'm not mad at them. I mean, yeah, I'm.
• 28:44
Speaker 1: Exhausted and I'd rather not have to deal with like
• 28:47
Speaker 1: stupid shit. But I'm always going to be available to
• 28:49
Speaker 1: a child, and you're going to be the same way.
• 28:51
Speaker 1: It's just like the kind of people and culture, like
• 28:54
Speaker 1: part of culture that we are, Like I don't want one,
• 28:57
Speaker 1: and I hear what you're saying, but you're not going
• 28:59
  Speaker 1: to ever.
• 29:00
Speaker 2: I don't know that you're going to regret.
• 29:01
Speaker 1: Having a child, you know, if it's something that's so important,
• 29:04
Speaker 1: like you've got a lot of love to give and
• 29:06
Speaker 1: so you know, like if I met a guy and
• 29:09
Speaker 1: he had some kids, I wouldn't not date him. I
• 29:11
Speaker 1: would but and I would be like, oh, this is
• 29:14
Speaker 1: a nice opportunity for me to kind of be a
• 29:16
Speaker 1: maternal figure or like a big sister kind of vibe.
• 29:20
Speaker 1: But it's not like I would be like, oh, I
• 29:22
Speaker 1: want to you know, if somebody said to me, I
• 29:24
Speaker 1: have to have children, it's like, well, obviously that ship
• 29:25
  Speaker 1: has sailed.
• 29:26
Speaker 4: And I think that's the best way to do it.
• 29:28
Speaker 5: Meeting someone that has a kid sounds fucking great because
• 29:31
Speaker 5: worst case scenario, I can press the ejug button and
• 29:33
Speaker 5: be out, you know what I mean. But if I
• 29:35
Speaker 5: want to stay and be and mother this this child, great,
• 29:39
Speaker 5: but it's not of my own loin, so I could, like,
• 29:41
Speaker 5: you know, right, and.
• 29:42
Speaker 1: Most kids are really you know, most kids are lovable,
• 29:46
Speaker 1: you know, like it's hard to find a kid that
• 29:48
  Speaker 1: doesn't deserve love.
• 29:50
Speaker 4: I mean, you never met my nephew.
• 29:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, well I have a couple of nephews too.
• 29:54
Speaker 5: So that's the thing about, like, I am down to
• 29:58
Speaker 5: have it. If we do have a kid, great, What
• 30:02
Speaker 5: if that motherfucker has the audacity to be straight? What
• 30:06
Speaker 5: if I had a straight young man in my house?
• 30:09
Speaker 5: Some motherfucker walk around my house crashing his balls, fucking
• 30:12
Speaker 5: his armpits and shit stink, Like, I now have to
• 30:15
Speaker 5: raise a straight person And that sounds awful.
• 30:18
Speaker 2: You're raising an ally, then, yeah, situation, and that's fair.
• 30:22
Speaker 2: That's crazy, you're raising an ally.
• 30:25
Speaker 1: He turns and then he turns against his father's when
• 30:27
Speaker 1: he grows up and he's like, I can't handle these
• 30:29
Speaker 1: two holmos. He's like, it's enough already with my house.
• 30:33
  Speaker 2: It's too gay.
• 30:34
Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna take a break and'll be right back
• 30:36
  Speaker 1: with monay Exchange.
• 30:41
Speaker 2: And we're back with money Exchange.
• 30:43
Speaker 1: She's on tour, so you can buy tickets to her
• 30:44
Speaker 1: show at money exchange dot com.
• 30:47
Speaker 2: Are you ready to give some advice today money?
• 30:50
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, she's always ready to give advice.
• 30:53
Speaker 2: Excellent. Well, I do have a money question.
• 30:58
Speaker 3: This one's just an email, but Hillary says this is
• 31:02
Speaker 3: Hillary Clinton. Yes, it absolutely is, Dear Chelsea, I have
• 31:06
Speaker 3: a question about how money changes relationships. I'm a thirty
• 31:09
Speaker 3: five year old woman who works as a child therapist
• 31:11
Speaker 3: at a nonprofit, so I don't make much money for
• 31:14
Speaker 3: what I do. I grew up as an only child
• 31:16
Speaker 3: to a single mother in a lower middle class family,
• 31:19
Speaker 3: and I'm very used to living paycheck to paycheck. I
• 31:22
Speaker 3: lost my mother as a teenager, and the only family
• 31:24
Speaker 3: I had left was my grandparents, who became my best
• 31:26
Speaker 3: friends and the only emotional support system. Two years ago, however,
• 31:30
Speaker 3: they both passed pretty quickly one after the other. It
• 31:33
Speaker 3: was a devastating blow and wrecked me pretty badly emotionally.
• 31:37
Speaker 3: Now I just have my wife and young daughter as
• 31:39
Speaker 3: my only remaining family. This is where things took an
• 31:41
Speaker 3: unexpected turn. Upon their deaths, I received multiple requests from
• 31:46
Speaker 3: people I considered close friends asking for money. They needed
• 31:49
Speaker 3: help with mortgage, medical bills, and other expenses. At first,
• 31:52
Speaker 3: I was happy to help, all while trying to establish
• 31:55
Speaker 3: a boundary that these were simply loans. To sum it up,
• 31:57
Speaker 3: I gave out about eighteen thousand dollars before I realized
• 32:00
Speaker 3: what was happening. I stopped giving out money, and needless
• 32:03
Speaker 3: to say, I haven't seen a scent of it back.
• 32:05
Speaker 3: It's not about that, however, I feel embarrassed taken advantage of.
• 32:09
Speaker 3: I'm shocked at how a few of them turned on
• 32:10
Speaker 3: me like that. Even more recently, my hoa community just
• 32:14
Speaker 3: outright asked me to personally foot a thirty five thousand
• 32:17
Speaker 3: dollars bill for something in our neighborhood because they knew
• 32:20
Speaker 3: I could with the inheritance from her grandparents. I don't
• 32:23
Speaker 3: know how they knew. I don't speak to most of
• 32:24
Speaker 3: my neighbors. I considered it for a long time before
• 32:27
Speaker 3: asking them to come up with another solution. How do
• 32:30
Speaker 3: I trust the intentions of people going forward. I've never
• 32:33
Speaker 3: had a lot of money before, and I certainly want
• 32:35
Speaker 3: to share it, but I'm realizing now that certain people
• 32:37
Speaker 3: will use me for it and not actually value me
• 32:40
  Speaker 3: as a friend.
• 32:40
Speaker 2: Thanks so much, Hillary. Wait, I'm sorry I missed this part.
• 32:44
Speaker 2: Did the inheritance? Was the inheritance? How did everyone know
• 32:47
  Speaker 2: about the inheritance?
• 32:49
Speaker 4: Wasn't the public news?
• 32:50
  Speaker 8: Like?
• 32:50
  Speaker 4: How serious?
• 32:51
Speaker 2: I don't know the neighbors knew.
• 32:52
Speaker 3: I don't think you even think she knows how the
• 32:54
Speaker 3: neighbors knew, but her friends as a family.
• 32:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, but still, like, that's not an invitation to ask
• 33:00
Speaker 1: for money. Can I just say when I open up
• 33:02
Speaker 1: my dms, how many fucking dms I get asking me
• 33:06
Speaker 1: for money? How many dms I get saying I'm going
• 33:09
Speaker 1: through a really tough time. I just got fired from
• 33:11
Speaker 1: my job. We just need I just need thirty thousand
• 33:14
Speaker 1: dollars to tide me over.
• 33:15
  Speaker 2: It's unreal.
• 33:16
Speaker 5: Venmo request my vemo right now is literally like hey girl,
• 33:19
Speaker 5: hey girl, I need people find your Venmo and they
• 33:22
Speaker 5: request you all day long from it.
• 33:24
  Speaker 1: I just can't imagine asking a stranger for money. I
• 33:28
Speaker 1: at all, I would love to like. I mean, I
• 33:31
Speaker 1: you know I want money too. My money's all out
• 33:33
Speaker 1: the window with this fucking house. I don't have any
• 33:35
Speaker 1: more money to give. First of all, you're gonna lose
• 33:38
Speaker 1: all your money. Don't ever advertise that you have money.
• 33:41
Speaker 1: Don't advertise that. Just hold onto your money and save
• 33:44
Speaker 1: it because you're gonna need it for fucking something and
• 33:46
Speaker 1: use it for yourself.
• 33:47
  Speaker 2: It's your inheritance.
• 33:49
Speaker 1: And definitely, you know how you can tell if people
• 33:51
Speaker 1: are using you for money, if they're asking you.
• 33:53
Speaker 2: For it, ask you for money, that you don't give
• 33:56
  Speaker 2: your money away.
• 33:56
Speaker 1: That's not there's They're not entitled to that money. That
• 33:59
Speaker 1: those are your grandparents period.
• 34:01
Speaker 5: Yea, even if they're friends of family, even in their family.
• 34:04
Speaker 5: That that money is not yours. The inheritance went to you. However,
• 34:07
Speaker 5: your your grandparent decided to div out that money and
• 34:10
Speaker 5: give it to w ever, that's who it belongs to.
• 34:12
Speaker 5: It does not belonged to your mom, or your cousin
• 34:14
Speaker 5: or sister keisha, whoever it is. No one is in
• 34:17
Speaker 5: town to that money except for you. And again, if
• 34:19
Speaker 5: you found it in your heart you were so generous.
• 34:21
Speaker 5: You've already given eighteen thousand dollars to your friends of family.
• 34:24
Speaker 5: That's it. You have to set a boundary. You're like, hey, guys,
• 34:27
Speaker 5: the bank is closed. I am not willing to give
• 34:29
Speaker 5: any more of this money. And again, if there's someone
• 34:32
Speaker 5: that she has a really soft space in your family,
• 34:34
Speaker 5: like a nephew that you really love, you really want
• 34:36
Speaker 5: to help them out with whatever, then that's a different story.
• 34:39
Speaker 5: But to have this open door policy and family can
• 34:41
Speaker 5: just come and hit your for money is dead. It's
• 34:44
Speaker 5: done no more. And why is your community asking you
• 34:47
Speaker 5: to pay for the work.
• 34:50
  Speaker 2: That's so ridiculous.
• 34:52
Speaker 1: And also like, there are going to be things that
• 34:54
Speaker 1: happen in your life where you are going to be
• 34:56
Speaker 1: able to help somebody out of a really bad situation,
• 34:59
Speaker 1: and that person should be somebody who's close to you
• 35:01
Speaker 1: and a friend or a lover or whatever, or a
• 35:03
Speaker 1: relative that you can help your child that you know,
• 35:07
Speaker 1: God forbid, something happens and you need like all this money,
• 35:09
Speaker 1: that's what you save that money for. You want to
• 35:11
Speaker 1: be nice and share the money. That's a very nice sentiment,
• 35:14
Speaker 1: But donate to charities that you care about. Then donate
• 35:16
Speaker 1: to homelessness, Donate to food shelters, Donate to children's charities,
• 35:20
Speaker 1: donate you know to like the LGBTQ community for children
• 35:24
Speaker 1: who have been kicked out of their homes. There's a
• 35:26
Speaker 1: million places to give your money to that you can
• 35:28
Speaker 1: actually track its use and track how it's being spent
• 35:31
Speaker 1: rather than just giving it to individuals.
• 35:34
Speaker 2: This story is as old as time.
• 35:36
Speaker 1: Like it doesn't work out well when you hand out
• 35:39
  Speaker 1: money to people.
• 35:40
Speaker 3: One thing my parents taught me really early on through
• 35:42
Speaker 3: like mistakes that they had made, was they're like, never
• 35:46
Speaker 3: loan money to friends like these larger amounts of money
• 35:48
Speaker 3: because a they probably won't be in a position to
• 35:50
Speaker 3: pay it back, and then they feel awkward. But even
• 35:53
Speaker 3: if you say yes and say it's a gift, then
• 35:55
Speaker 3: they still often feel awkward and you lose the friendship.
• 35:57
Speaker 1: And then they become resentful of you in a because
• 36:00
Speaker 1: it's like you help them and they're embarrassed, and so
• 36:03
Speaker 1: then you lose that friendship. Anyway, that's happened to me
• 36:06
Speaker 1: fifty times where I've given friends here's twenty grand.
• 36:09
Speaker 2: You know, here you're in a bind.
• 36:12
Speaker 1: I actually saw somebody that I loaned twenty thousand dollars
• 36:15
Speaker 1: to the other day.
• 36:16
Speaker 2: He's never paid me back and he doesn't have to.
• 36:18
  Speaker 2: It's fine.
• 36:19
Speaker 1: But I saw him. He's never brought it up. This
• 36:22
Speaker 1: was years ago. He's never even brought it up. He's fine,
• 36:26
Speaker 1: and no one knows about it. It was like our secret.
• 36:28
Speaker 1: He was so embarrassed when he came to me. He's like,
• 36:30
Speaker 1: I can't believe I have to ask you for this,
• 36:32
Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, yeah, I guess who else
• 36:34
  Speaker 1: can you ask?
• 36:35
Speaker 2: I guess I'm the only person to give it to you.
• 36:37
Speaker 1: And he's never even even once said hey, I, oh,
• 36:40
Speaker 1: I don't even care about the money, just say I
• 36:42
Speaker 1: appreciate you doing that for me, based on the fact
• 36:45
Speaker 1: that we're not even yes something.
• 36:48
Speaker 4: Like, it's just kind of crazy.
• 36:50
Speaker 2: You create a dynamic that is not good.
• 36:52
Speaker 5: I think, like it never happened is wild. So so
• 36:55
Speaker 5: you guys go to like events, you've seen him out
• 36:57
Speaker 5: of place and it's just like.
• 36:58
Speaker 4: Hey, girls, saw the Househouse House.
• 37:00
Speaker 1: I've seen him in a long time. And then I
• 37:02
Speaker 1: saw him the other day and he was just like, hey,
• 37:04
Speaker 1: how are you? And I'm like I'm great, how are you?
• 37:07
Speaker 2: And like I remember telling my friend I was like,
• 37:09
Speaker 2: you know, I once gave it. She goes, you did,
• 37:10
Speaker 2: I go, yeah, I was in a bind.
• 37:12
Speaker 1: He's really close with someone I'm really close with, and
• 37:14
Speaker 1: it was kind of weird for him to come to
• 37:16
Speaker 1: me in the first place, quite frankly.
• 37:18
Speaker 2: But you know, I have a big heart. I always
• 37:19
Speaker 2: want to be generous when I have excess. I always do.
• 37:22
Speaker 2: I really do. But and I did.
• 37:25
Speaker 1: But I just like, I'm like, it's interesting that that
• 37:27
Speaker 1: person feels no obligation to address it ever again, like
• 37:32
Speaker 1: just treak it in. Okay, I guess we'll just forget
• 37:34
  Speaker 1: that happened.
• 37:35
Speaker 2: So one Noah's the answer for these friends.
• 37:37
Speaker 3: One way to kind of like get out of them
• 37:39
Speaker 3: blaming you is you could say, oh, you know what,
• 37:41
  Speaker 3: it's they left it in a trust. I don't really
• 37:43
Speaker 3: have access to it like that. Like that way, it's
• 37:45
Speaker 3: you're not saying no, you just can't unless.
• 37:47
  Speaker 4: You you see.
• 37:48
Speaker 5: For me, though, I'm like, because it's really hard for
• 37:51
Speaker 5: me to like keep up with a lie. Like that's
• 37:52
Speaker 5: why I'm a pretty sure shoot, I'll be like, girl,
• 37:55
Speaker 5: this the store is closed, Like I wouldn't tell the
• 37:57
Speaker 5: lie because then it might it might come up again.
• 37:59
Speaker 4: As that it's one like it's in a trust. No
• 38:01
Speaker 4: it's not. And I feel like that might make it dodge.
• 38:04
Speaker 1: Say is listen, I've done this before, it doesn't work out.
• 38:07
  Speaker 2: Well.
• 38:08
  Speaker 1: I wish I could share with you. I wish I
• 38:09
Speaker 1: could give you this money. But I've loaned people money before,
• 38:12
Speaker 1: or I've given away people money before, and it's actually
• 38:15
Speaker 1: ruined our relationship. So I'm so sorry, but I'm not
• 38:17
  Speaker 1: doing that anymore.
• 38:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, people need to and people need to understand that
• 38:21
Speaker 5: boundaries a real fucking thing. I just set the boundary.
• 38:23
Speaker 5: But like, no, girl, it's not happening. I'll take it
• 38:25
Speaker 5: out to the dinner. We can go down to the Applebee's.
• 38:27
Speaker 5: I'll get your last little chicken selex a trio deal.
• 38:31
Speaker 1: I won't be at the Applebee's, but good luck with everything.
• 38:36
Speaker 2: He'll take you on a cruise.
• 38:38
  Speaker 1: He'll take you to at Applebe's. That's actually on a
• 38:40
  Speaker 1: cruise ship.
• 38:42
Speaker 5: This is this is a virgin voyage, Chelsea. You know,
• 38:45
Speaker 5: I feel like you will like a virgin voice.
• 38:46
Speaker 2: Anyway, moving along, moving on, moving on.
• 38:51
Speaker 3: Well, our next question, and this is a first for
• 38:54
Speaker 3: us here on this show, but I have a question
• 38:57
Speaker 3: and Mona this maybe somebody that you arequainted with, so
• 39:01
Speaker 3: I just want to proface with that they like cruises probably,
• 39:06
Speaker 3: so this question starts. Dear Chelsea. I've been a full
• 39:09
Speaker 3: time drag queen for sixteen years. Drag has been such
• 39:12
Speaker 3: a blessing in my life and given me opportunities beyond
• 39:15
Speaker 3: my wildest dreams. I became the first drag queen in
• 39:18
Speaker 3: history to perform on all seven continents, yes even Antarctica,
• 39:23
Speaker 3: performed in thirty five countries. Was Grand Marshall of NYC Pride,
• 39:26
Speaker 3: ran for City Council, and was first drag queen to
• 39:29
Speaker 3: moderate a panel at the un So things have been good. However,
• 39:33
Speaker 3: at thirty eight years old, I keep wanting to push
• 39:35
Speaker 3: myself and try new things to take it to the
• 39:37
  Speaker 3: next level.
• 39:38
Speaker 2: Challenging myself as a performer is really important to me.
• 39:41
Speaker 3: When I moved to NYC at seventeen years old, it
• 39:44
Speaker 3: was to pursue a career in musical theater. I got
• 39:46
Speaker 3: signed to an agent last year to continue this dream,
• 39:48
Speaker 3: but haven't been able to book anything. All my auditions
• 39:51
Speaker 3: get great feedback and lots of oh yeah, love them
• 39:54
Speaker 3: and their work, but no follow through with getting the job.
• 39:57
Speaker 3: I've done a lot of different reality TV, but I
• 39:59
Speaker 3: want to do the real deal work as an actor, comedian,
• 40:01
Speaker 3: and performer. What can I do to better help these
• 40:04
Speaker 3: goals and skills and get myself seen as more than
• 40:06
Speaker 3: a drag queen. Not that I don't love that, but
• 40:09
Speaker 3: I want people to see me as a more well
• 40:10
Speaker 3: rounded performer who's first attle in what I'm able to do.
• 40:13
Speaker 2: Thank you, Marty Cummings.
• 40:15
  Speaker 5: I know Marty.
• 40:16
Speaker 2: Coming, Marty. Do you guys know each other?
• 40:18
Speaker 4: I do know Marty for years.
• 40:20
Speaker 1: Oh my god, Marty, this is our special guest. Monette
• 40:22
Speaker 1: is our special guest today. And look at these two there.
• 40:25
Speaker 1: I already know each other.
• 40:26
Speaker 2: We've ever had that happen before on this podcast.
• 40:30
Speaker 7: I know Monette caught me back.
• 40:33
Speaker 2: I will not I would be is that one of
• 40:36
  Speaker 2: the people.
• 40:37
Speaker 1: Is that one of the Marty, Is that one of
• 40:38
Speaker 1: the people you auditioned for that you didn't hear back from.
• 40:41
Speaker 4: Yes, she will cast me.
• 40:43
Speaker 2: Hello money, give Marty some.
• 40:46
  Speaker 4: Advice, Marty.
• 40:49
Speaker 5: Marty is one of the most talented antaitanas in New
• 40:53
Speaker 5: York City. Marty is hilarious. Marty is a great host.
• 40:56
Speaker 5: Marty is a good singer. So Marty, are you leading
• 40:59
Speaker 5: with so are you leading with the drag with these auditions?
• 41:02
Speaker 5: Like are you going with with like headshots and like
• 41:04
Speaker 5: profiles of you and drag when you do these auditions like.
• 41:08
Speaker 7: Very so, like my agent primarily sends me out on
• 41:10
Speaker 7: drag stuff, so they'll send you know, like my drag
• 41:13
Speaker 7: head shot, my non drag head shot. Auditions normally are
• 41:17
Speaker 7: self tapes like in drag whatever. And the feedback it's
• 41:22
Speaker 7: always the same feedback from the casting directors. Oh my god,
• 41:25
Speaker 7: we love Marty, They're amazing. We love, we love, we love,
• 41:27
Speaker 7: we love, we love. And then like I'll get a
• 41:29
Speaker 7: callback or whatever, and then I don't get it, and
• 41:31
Speaker 7: I'm like, okay, girl, you love me, but run me
• 41:33
Speaker 7: my check, Like hello, do.
• 41:35
Speaker 2: You audition as you Marty straight? Not straight, but like
• 41:40
Speaker 2: it's you know what I mean.
• 41:41
  Speaker 5: I'm primarily straight.
• 41:44
Speaker 7: I'm primarily sent out on castings for like drag roles
• 41:48
Speaker 7: and drag characters. There are some so like it's after
• 41:50
Speaker 7: Catherine I talked I actually my agent emailed me that
• 41:53
Speaker 7: this big director emailed them and was like, we really
• 41:56
Speaker 7: want to see Marty for these two roles for his
• 41:59
Speaker 7: next film. One is Drag one is not drag obviously,
• 42:02
Speaker 7: if I book the Drag one, like, yes, I want it,
• 42:06
Speaker 7: but I want to be challenged, like I want to
• 42:08
Speaker 7: be challenged. I want to try something different. I want
• 42:09
Speaker 7: to show that I could do more than drave right.
• 42:12
Speaker 1: And also, drag is a very specific niche thing, like
• 42:16
Speaker 1: it's not as widespread, like you know, it's not like
• 42:18
Speaker 1: there's tons of drag movies out each year, So I
• 42:20
Speaker 1: would really focus in on going in as yourself without
• 42:24
Speaker 1: being in drag. Also in addition to auditioning for stuff
• 42:27
Speaker 1: in drag, because you're probably going to find a lot
• 42:29
  Speaker 1: more opportunities there.
• 42:31
Speaker 5: Yeah. Now I was gonna say, I think that that
• 42:33
Speaker 5: needs to be the directed to your agency, your manager, Like, hey, guys,
• 42:36
Speaker 5: let's say for six months, do not send me any
• 42:39
Speaker 5: drag castings. Do do not send my drag headshots, like,
• 42:43
Speaker 5: only focus on Marty Cummings. Do not put drag into it, like,
• 42:46
Speaker 5: I only want to focus on Marty Cummings. Things for
• 42:48
Speaker 5: me out of drag. Maybe some street rolls get really crazy,
• 42:52
  Speaker 5: like let's.
• 42:52
Speaker 1: Not get carried away, guys. I'm sorry, ladies, I'm so sorry.
• 42:57
  Speaker 2: I'm lad.
• 42:57
Speaker 4: I'm not that challenged okay.
• 43:01
Speaker 2: But yeah you should.
• 43:02
Speaker 1: You should cast a wider net. That's you're gonna catch
• 43:04
Speaker 1: more fish that way. That's just the way it works. Like,
• 43:07
Speaker 1: don't limit yourself to that, you know, like go where
• 43:09
Speaker 1: the opportunities are too. I wouldn't say you have to
• 43:12
Speaker 1: excise all of your like submissions to drag, but I
• 43:15
Speaker 1: would say, like, definitely be open to playing yourself without
• 43:20
  Speaker 1: being a drag.
• 43:21
Speaker 7: Yeah, I totally am. And I think I think money
• 43:23
Speaker 7: is right. Like I have to stress to my agents like, hey,
• 43:26
Speaker 7: like I love the drag stuff, but please look at
• 43:29
Speaker 7: other castings for me. Also, yeah, I think that's I
• 43:32
Speaker 7: think it's like easy to get like I don't want
• 43:34
Speaker 7: to say pigeonhole, but it's easy to see somebody as one.
• 43:36
Speaker 2: Yes, same and yeah.
• 43:39
Speaker 3: And also have your agent be saying those specific things
• 43:43
Speaker 3: to casting directors and like saying, you know, Marty has
• 43:45
Speaker 3: these other talents and loves playing these you know, quote
• 43:47
Speaker 3: unquote straight roles sort of thing, you know, comedy drama,
• 43:51
Speaker 3: that sort of thing. I know Clayton Ferris, who's like
• 43:53
Speaker 3: somebody I follow on TikTok. He is an actor and
• 43:56
Speaker 3: like kind of in the same vein went to his
• 43:58
Speaker 3: agent was like, listen, really want to do a movie
• 44:00
Speaker 3: this year, and then he wound up being in weapons.
• 44:03
Speaker 2: He's like the boyfriend of the principal.
• 44:05
Speaker 3: And then he was like I just said it and
• 44:07
Speaker 3: like stuck to my guns about it and it happened,
• 44:10
Speaker 3: you know. So I think having your agent expressing that
• 44:13
Speaker 3: to other people, and because people do just want to
• 44:15
Speaker 3: like go with the first thing they see, which is
• 44:18
Speaker 3: like dragon is more exciting than just like ye yeah person.
• 44:21
Speaker 5: So and I am not like a big I'm not
• 44:23
Speaker 5: a big intention person and I man, I fact, like
• 44:26
Speaker 5: I'm not that girl. But I do think because casting
• 44:29
Speaker 5: agents are so there, they are so stupid, like they
• 44:32
Speaker 5: could they can only see the thing that you're giving them,
• 44:35
Speaker 5: so like you have like drag can even be a
• 44:37
Speaker 5: part of it because one thing the drag is a
• 44:39
Speaker 5: thing they've already written off in their minds, like well, no,
• 44:41
Speaker 5: he can't play that role because.
• 44:42
Speaker 4: He the dragon over here.
• 44:43
Speaker 5: So I think it's really being intentional about like only
• 44:45
Speaker 5: giving them the Marty Cummings as opposed to Marty Cummings,
• 44:49
Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
• 44:50
Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I think that's like I was telling Catherine,
• 44:52
Speaker 7: like so many of these casting workers, they follow me,
• 44:54
Speaker 7: they come to my shows, They're like, we love, we love,
• 44:56
Speaker 7: we love, we love, we love. And so I think
• 44:57
Speaker 7: in their mind it's like Marty drag Marty, and I
• 45:01
Speaker 7: want like yeah, So I think like if my agent's
• 45:03
Speaker 7: sending tapes of me out of drag, that will start
• 45:06
Speaker 7: putting in their mind.
• 45:07
Speaker 4: Like, oh, Marty is.
• 45:09
Speaker 7: Like layered human being.
• 45:12
Speaker 5: You know. Also, maybe one thing this might be crazy,
• 45:16
Speaker 5: but maybe you need to have another like acting name,
• 45:19
Speaker 5: like be like Jake Sanchez. Maybe not saying that, maybe
• 45:23
Speaker 5: be a problematic be be somebody else, be Tony Tony Smith.
• 45:27
Speaker 5: I don't know, like have like a different pseudonym for
• 45:29
Speaker 5: your acting, for out of for stuff that is not
• 45:33
  Speaker 5: drag at all.
• 45:33
Speaker 1: Have you tried boofing any of these directors that you're
• 45:37
Speaker 1: auditioning for we just covered I just learned about boofing,
• 45:41
Speaker 1: and I'm very excited. Oh my god, Hello Marty, Mary.
• 45:48
Speaker 4: Your day. I've seen you booth them.
• 45:51
  Speaker 5: What is it?
• 45:51
Speaker 4: What do you do something up your butthole about them?
• 45:54
Speaker 4: Something funny? That's that's going to be my name on
• 46:04
  Speaker 4: the resume.
• 46:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, Marty, Marty boof boof That's cute that I.
• 46:10
Speaker 5: Just broke a sweat.
• 46:11
Speaker 4: Oh my god, talking about booy.
• 46:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would definitely be sweating if somebody boothed something
• 46:17
Speaker 1: up in my tushiy hole without a fore warning, but
• 46:19
Speaker 1: at least hopefully, hopefully I would.
• 46:21
Speaker 2: Have some sort of.
• 46:24
Speaker 5: Okay where I have for sure, for sure, this is
• 46:26
Speaker 5: so great that you ended up being being questions with.
• 46:29
Speaker 5: This is the Marty.
• 46:30
Speaker 2: I think you have your marching orders, right, Marty.
• 46:32
Speaker 5: Yeah, I have a call with my agent tomorrow morning.
• 46:34
Speaker 2: So i'll great perfect get on it.
• 46:36
Speaker 5: Also signbar. I went to an artica.
• 46:38
Speaker 4: Catherine told me you're going You're gonna love it. And
• 46:40
Speaker 4: when it smells disgusting.
• 46:42
Speaker 2: Okay, okay, great smells.
• 46:44
Speaker 1: I'll just snort a lot of Academy before I go
• 46:46
Speaker 1: there so I won't smell anything booth academy okay, booth okay, sorry,
• 46:50
Speaker 1: so I'll just yeah, then my asshole, i'd see. I've
• 46:52
Speaker 1: got to figure out which orifice to put on in.
• 46:54
Speaker 1: It's so confusing now I'm so confused. But thank you,
• 46:57
Speaker 1: thank you, Marty. I appreciate your bye bye people.
• 47:02
Speaker 5: Also, sometimes booth alcohol like if you because sometimes you're
• 47:06
Speaker 5: allergic to you're allergic to it going down in something
• 47:09
Speaker 5: in here, so they.
• 47:11
Speaker 2: It was allergic to alcohol.
• 47:12
Speaker 5: I know a lot of people, a lot of people,
• 47:14
Speaker 5: especially vodka. People of vodka because of thee.
• 47:16
Speaker 1: And so the next move is to put it in
• 47:18
Speaker 1: your butt. But if you're allergic to something, that putting
• 47:23
Speaker 1: it in your body in any capacity has got to
• 47:26
  Speaker 1: be bad.
• 47:27
Speaker 5: I know the gaze their alcohol.
• 47:29
Speaker 1: Well, this doesn't sound like good advice anyway, Moving on, Catherine.
• 47:33
Speaker 3: All right, Well, our next color is Megan, and Megan says,
• 47:37
Speaker 3: today I'm writing to you for advice on an estranged
• 47:40
Speaker 3: father dynamic. I had a very normal childhood until about
• 47:43
Speaker 3: high school when my father's mental health took a huge hit.
• 47:46
Speaker 3: Turns out he had been sexually abused by a nun
• 47:48
Speaker 3: as a child, and about the time I hit fifth grade,
• 47:51
Speaker 3: my father went off the deep end. He and my
• 47:53
Speaker 3: mom were separated off and on while I was a teen,
• 47:56
Speaker 3: with me confronting him over cheating with sex workers and
• 47:58
Speaker 3: then him destroying my mother financially in the divorce. His
• 48:01
Speaker 3: family is full of addicts, criminals, and just all around
• 48:05
Speaker 3: con men. I've not had contact with my father in
• 48:07
Speaker 3: the last fifteen years, despite him showing up at my
• 48:10
Speaker 3: workplaces circling around my block and just generally trying to
• 48:13
Speaker 3: make contact. I've never felt emotionally safe around him. Fast
• 48:17
Speaker 3: forward to this year, when I've started to wonder if
• 48:19
Speaker 3: I will ever have contact and how I'll feel if
• 48:21
Speaker 3: he passes away. I happened to google him and found
• 48:24
Speaker 3: out he recently won an eleven million dollars settlement in
• 48:27
Speaker 3: a personal injury lawsuit.
• 48:29
Speaker 2: Time to time to contact him.
• 48:32
Speaker 3: He's been living on disability, running scams, and working under
• 48:34
Speaker 3: the table to avoid paying off his debts, including tens
• 48:37
Speaker 3: of thousands he owes my mom in the divorce and
• 48:40
Speaker 3: eighteen years of child support he never paid for my
• 48:42
Speaker 3: half sister. My anger was palpable him living in a
• 48:46
Speaker 3: three million dollar mansion in Milwaukee that's a dream home
• 48:49
Speaker 3: with a brand new sports car, while I'm a struggling
• 48:51
Speaker 3: teacher and my mom had to put off retirement because
• 48:54
Speaker 3: he cleared out her four.
• 48:54
Speaker 2: Oh one k in the divorce.
• 48:56
Speaker 3: While I'm sitting here stewing on this information, cosmically, he
• 48:59
Speaker 3: just apparently knew what I was thinking about and sent
• 49:02
Speaker 3: me an email apologizing for a quote things he had
• 49:04
Speaker 3: done wrong and asking for contact again.
• 49:07
Speaker 2: Do I meet with him?
• 49:08
Speaker 3: Should we have contact with parents just because there are parents,
• 49:11
Speaker 3: so we don't have regrets or should I maintain my
• 49:13
Speaker 3: boundaries for my own mental health. This is the first
• 49:16
Speaker 3: time he's ever owned any wrongdoing or offered an apology.
• 49:19
Speaker 3: But I also don't want it to seem like I'm
• 49:21
Speaker 3: suddenly returning because he has money. Now I have two
• 49:24
Speaker 3: small children that he has never met and who I
• 49:26
Speaker 3: haven't even considered introducing him to. I also feel like
• 49:29
Speaker 3: I might owe it to my mom and half sister
• 49:31
Speaker 3: to try and get them back the money they're owed.
• 49:33
Speaker 3: I'd appreciate your thoughts on family boundaries and estrangement.
• 49:36
Speaker 2: Thanks for all you do. Meghan. Hi, Megan, Hi, how
• 49:40
  Speaker 2: are you hi?
• 49:42
Speaker 1: This is our special guest when I exchange here today
• 49:45
  Speaker 1: me to you.
• 49:46
  Speaker 2: So funny, Meghan.
• 49:47
Speaker 1: We just had a conversation with somebody who had come
• 49:50
Speaker 1: into a lot of buddy and was starting to loan
• 49:54
Speaker 1: it out to people and wondering what their boundaries should
• 49:56
Speaker 1: be about that because all of these people started, you know, approach.
• 50:00
Speaker 1: But this is a different situation because your father is
• 50:03
Speaker 1: trying to reach out to you, and you got an
• 50:04
Speaker 1: email that you hadn't gotten before.
• 50:07
Speaker 2: My impetus I'm up two schools of thought for this.
• 50:10
Speaker 1: I would be motivated to reimburse your mother and your
• 50:13
Speaker 1: sister for the money that he never neglected to pay them.
• 50:15
Speaker 1: That would be my motivation for connecting with your father.
• 50:19
Speaker 1: But he also did apologize in this email, which you
• 50:22
Speaker 1: said to something he's never done before, right, never.
• 50:26
  Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so.
• 50:27
Speaker 1: This is the first apology he's made to you. Absolutely,
• 50:31
Speaker 1: And how does that make you feel?
• 50:33
Speaker 6: Yeah, there's been years of no ownership, no talking. So
• 50:37
Speaker 6: angry but also anger for my mother When I mentioned
• 50:40
Speaker 6: it to her. Her reaction like I could just see
• 50:42
Speaker 6: the disappointment that he harmed her in so many ways
• 50:46
Speaker 6: and she didn't get any ounce of an apology. And
• 50:48
Speaker 6: he said that this stemmed from him. He perseverates in
• 50:51
Speaker 6: this trial of the abuse that happened to him, and
• 50:54
Speaker 6: he had been rereading the trial and found a letter
• 50:55
Speaker 6: I wrote wrote to the court, and he had like
• 50:57
Speaker 6: realized first time that I think he recognized anything outside
• 51:01
Speaker 6: his own world, Like in all of this, he's the
• 51:04
Speaker 6: victim in everything, and I think he just like for
• 51:06
Speaker 6: the first time, was starting to deal the end. He's
• 51:09
Speaker 6: a lonely old man who doesn't have his family in
• 51:11
Speaker 6: his life, and I think that's really hard and money
• 51:14
Speaker 6: doesn't solve your problems.
• 51:15
Speaker 8: So I think that was him reaching out.
• 51:18
Speaker 1: I think that you this is a great opportunity for
• 51:21
Speaker 1: you to say, hey, listen, I know that you've come
• 51:22
Speaker 1: into eleven million dollars that you want a lawsuit. If
• 51:25
Speaker 1: you want to speak to me, the way that you
• 51:26
Speaker 1: could speak to me and to move forward in our
• 51:28
Speaker 1: relationship is to do right by my mom and do
• 51:31
Speaker 1: right by my sister and catalog all of the money
• 51:35
Speaker 1: that he didn't pay and child support and alimony, Catalog
• 51:38
Speaker 1: all of that, and reiterate what your mom had to do,
• 51:40
Speaker 1: how she had to not I think you said she
• 51:42
Speaker 1: didn't retire on time because she had to work right.
• 51:46
Speaker 1: Reiterate all of those things, and say, this is the
• 51:48
Speaker 1: decent thing to do, and when, if, and when you
• 51:51
Speaker 1: do this, if you decide to do the right thing,
• 51:53
Speaker 1: then I would be willing to talk to you.
• 51:55
Speaker 3: I'm also going to add an asterisk to that because
• 51:58
Speaker 3: I have recently learned that in some states like this
• 52:01
Speaker 3: is state dependent, so you'll have to figure out what's
• 52:03
Speaker 3: you know with your state. But in some states, the
• 52:06
Speaker 3: child support stuff never goes away, so if the authorities
• 52:09
Speaker 3: are let know that he has this money, the money
• 52:12
Speaker 3: should just get like taken out of his account and
• 52:14
Speaker 3: literally put into your mom's account. Like it depends on
• 52:17
Speaker 3: the state, like I said, but some of this money
• 52:19
Speaker 3: might be able to be just transferred right over.
• 52:22
Speaker 6: We found out Wisconsin law doesn't get my sister anything back.
• 52:24
Speaker 6: Her stepfather is a lawyer, so they looked into it.
• 52:27
Speaker 6: So there's a statue imitations on it. Hers is gone,
• 52:30
Speaker 6: but my mother has consulted a lawyer and is now
• 52:32
Speaker 6: going to go forward with it.
• 52:34
Speaker 2: Great, Yeah, great, awesome, that's amazing.
• 52:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that like, yes, he is.
• 52:40
Speaker 5: He seems to be in a different place where he's
• 52:42
Speaker 5: apologized making those who apologize and amend his wrongs. But
• 52:45
Speaker 5: for me, a big part of that is the atonement
• 52:48
Speaker 5: the reparations for the wrongs you have done. So until
• 52:50
Speaker 5: he's able to do that is probably going to be
• 52:52
Speaker 5: really hard for me. I'm going to get for you, Meghan,
• 52:55
Speaker 5: probably virtually impossible to move on when you are not
• 52:59
Speaker 5: righting the wrongs that you do, which is giving us
• 53:01
Speaker 5: this money back, like you have you use camped out
• 53:04
Speaker 5: on all these years of caring for me and for
• 53:06
Speaker 5: caring for my mother and all this stuff. So you
• 53:07
Speaker 5: he asks to atone to make you want to feel
• 53:11
Speaker 5: like this relationship is repaarable, because right now it doesn't
• 53:14
Speaker 5: seem like it is. And you come into eleven million
• 53:16
Speaker 5: dollars in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can live off a million
• 53:19
Speaker 5: dollars for the next twenty centuries. Eleven million dollars. You'll
• 53:22
Speaker 5: be just fine if you give whatever he's owed to you,
• 53:25
Speaker 5: your sister and your mom to move on and nd
• 53:28
Speaker 5: y'all can build you know, a family dynamic hopefull again
• 53:31
Speaker 5: or whatever that looks like now that you're grown and
• 53:34
Speaker 5: you're not a child anymore, whatever whatever that wants like
• 53:36
Speaker 5: for you, and you know, and in regards to him
• 53:38
Speaker 5: being your father, yes, he's your father, but he's a
• 53:40
Speaker 5: fucking human being first, so needs to fix what you
• 53:42
Speaker 5: need to do to he could you guys can all
• 53:44
Speaker 5: move on and you know, build something nice hopefully if
• 53:47
  Speaker 5: you want that.
• 53:48
Speaker 2: Meg, what do you think about this? Meg?
• 53:51
Speaker 8: Yeah, that makes a ton of sense.
• 53:53
Speaker 2: Okay, okay, good, let us know what happens.
• 53:55
Speaker 1: I will okay, cool, Well send him that email and
• 53:59
Speaker 1: you know, catalog everything for him so he's not confused.
• 54:02
Speaker 1: About anything, and then you know, based out and then
• 54:04
Speaker 1: the ball's in his court and he can decide.
• 54:06
Speaker 2: And maybe increase the amounts for inflation exactly.
• 54:09
Speaker 5: Hello, Catherine, Absolutely girl.
• 54:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, and pain and suffering and whatever else you decide
• 54:15
Speaker 1: to throw in there.
• 54:16
Speaker 8: We actually looked at it.
• 54:17
Speaker 6: There's a clause at their divorce that he owes interest
• 54:20
Speaker 6: that was specifically written in, so it actually comes out
• 54:24
Speaker 6: like with interest of seventeen years, it comes out to
• 54:26
Speaker 6: be a lot more for my mom.
• 54:27
Speaker 8: So hopefully she'll at the very least get that back.
• 54:30
Speaker 3: Great amazing, right, Well, keep us posted, Okay, keep us posted.
• 54:34
Speaker 2: Thanks Meg, Thank you.
• 54:35
Speaker 8: I appreciate your time, Catherine.
• 54:37
Speaker 5: I had to say, I listen to y'alls pod so often.
• 54:39
Speaker 5: I just love your haircut. It'scious you.
• 54:41
Speaker 3: I was pink untillery recently and then I chopped it
• 54:43
Speaker 3: all off about six months ago.
• 54:45
Speaker 2: So yeah, thank you. I appreciate it.
• 54:47
  Speaker 4: Youply.
• 54:48
Speaker 1: Okay, So we'll take a break and come back and
• 54:50
Speaker 1: do a last yeah quickie, Okay, Okay, we'll be right
• 54:53
Speaker 1: back with the Momney Exchange and.
• 54:59
Speaker 2: We're back live from Rochester, New York.
• 55:02
  Speaker 4: I'm black, we're back.
• 55:04
Speaker 2: We're black, and we're all women in here. Yes, okay.
• 55:09
Speaker 3: So our last question comes from Brandon and the subject
• 55:13
Speaker 3: line is my boyfriend won't shut the fuck up about
• 55:15
Speaker 3: his job. Dear Chelsea, my boyfriend and I have been
• 55:19
Speaker 3: together for over two years, and I love him very much.
• 55:21
Speaker 3: We have so much fun together when he gets out
• 55:23
Speaker 3: of his head about work, But most of the time
• 55:25
Speaker 3: he won't shut the fuck up about his job and
• 55:27
Speaker 3: how good he is at it. Oh, he loves his
• 55:30
Speaker 3: job and says so all the time. I'm so happy
• 55:32
Speaker 3: for him and proud of his hard work and success,
• 55:34
Speaker 3: but it's not the only thing I want to talk about.
• 55:37
Speaker 3: It can also come off as very braggadocious sometimes, and
• 55:40
Speaker 3: I can't help but roll my eyes on the inside.
• 55:42
Speaker 3: We work in the same industry, so part of me
• 55:44
  Speaker 3: wonders if that's why I don't enjoy the conversation. I
• 55:47
Speaker 3: even try to casually change the conversation sometimes, but still
• 55:51
Speaker 3: work seems to be his favorite topic. He's so preoccupied
• 55:54
Speaker 3: that even when we go out on dates, I can
• 55:56
Speaker 3: see he's in his head. When I ask what he's
• 55:58
Speaker 3: thinking about, he replies, we're work and then goes into detail.
• 56:01
Speaker 3: Sometimes he can't sleep at night because he can't stop
• 56:03
Speaker 3: thinking about work. He acknowledges the fact that his brain
• 56:06
Speaker 3: never stops working, so that's a positive step in the
• 56:08
Speaker 3: right direction. I suppose he really is very successful at
• 56:12
Speaker 3: his job and constantly winning awards and acknowledgments. I'm so
• 56:15
Speaker 3: proud of him and try to be supportive, but I
• 56:17
Speaker 3: can't take this never ending conversation about work. Any words
• 56:21
Speaker 3: of wisdom are greatly appreciated. I think you should just
• 56:23
Speaker 3: read that letter to him.
• 56:26
Speaker 1: I honestly think I should just read that letter to him,
• 56:28
Speaker 1: because you have to be direct about it, and you
• 56:31
Speaker 1: have to be like, nobody wants to hear about somebody's
• 56:33
Speaker 1: job all day long.
• 56:34
Speaker 2: Nobody wants to hear about it, especially when you work
• 56:36
Speaker 2: in the same no, exactly.
• 56:37
Speaker 1: Like, you've got to have a sense of self and
• 56:39
Speaker 1: also you know the ingredients to be a successful human being.
• 56:43
Speaker 1: Mean that you have to have more than one thing
• 56:44
Speaker 1: going on in your life, like not just work. It
• 56:47
Speaker 1: can't be one dimensional like that. You're in a relationship,
• 56:49
Speaker 1: There's got to be other shit to talk about.
• 56:51
Speaker 5: There's nothing I want to hear about all day long
• 56:53
Speaker 5: except for moving. Nothing else, I mean nothing.
• 56:55
Speaker 1: You meet both, sister, I mean now that I know
• 56:57
Speaker 1: about moofing. It's all I want to talk about.
• 57:00
Speaker 5: And it does so annoying to hear you just talking
• 57:02
Speaker 5: about your job all the time, over and over and
• 57:03
Speaker 5: over again. Like at least like make me bring up
• 57:06
Speaker 5: something like, let me give you promise about your job.
• 57:08
Speaker 5: I don't want to hear you bring it up all
• 57:09
Speaker 5: the time. Let me be impressed by it. And again,
• 57:11
Speaker 5: I know in this day and age where a lot
• 57:12
Speaker 5: of my straygo friends are dating guys that can't find
• 57:15
Speaker 5: the job and don't fucking work. I know if finding
• 57:17
Speaker 5: a dude that does have a job is very proactive,
• 57:20
Speaker 5: but you're on the outer end of the spectrum now,
• 57:22
Speaker 5: he won't fucking shut up about it.
• 57:23
Speaker 4: So yeah, that seems like a lot.
• 57:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely so. Yeah.
• 57:27
Speaker 3: Also, this to me a little bit smacks of like
• 57:30
Speaker 3: maybe do some testing and seef he's got like either
• 57:32
Speaker 3: ADHD or some oc that he can't stop sort of
• 57:35
Speaker 3: like spiraling and like thinking about work. That's a good idea, yeah,
• 57:39
Speaker 3: and maybe if not, then just a little therapy.
• 57:42
Speaker 1: So if he does have any of those things, you
• 57:44
Speaker 1: can boof him his adderall or you can boof him
• 57:47
Speaker 1: some vibance, just shove the pills right up his asshole.
• 57:50
Speaker 1: If you have been listening to this episode, everyone, when
• 57:52
Speaker 1: you get off of this episode, I want to get
• 57:54
Speaker 1: your dad listening to just please try putting something in
• 57:56
Speaker 1: your butt. I'm kid kidding. I don't want everyone to
• 57:58
Speaker 1: try that, but if you want to try it, go
• 58:00
Speaker 1: for it. But I'm not a doctor and I'm also
• 58:02
  Speaker 1: not a therapist.
• 58:03
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 58:03
Speaker 1: I was listening to mel Robinson's podcast the other day
• 58:06
Speaker 1: and at the end of her podcast, she goes, I
• 58:08
Speaker 1: am not a doctor. There's a whole spiel about her
• 58:10
Speaker 1: not being a doctor or a therapist. I'm like, why
• 58:12
Speaker 1: don't we do that at the end of mine, Like
• 58:13
Speaker 1: you've got it in the description, Okay, right, great, Because
• 58:16
Speaker 1: I was like, she's she's not even giving advice, like
• 58:19
Speaker 1: I'm giving advice. She kind of just like you know,
• 58:22
Speaker 1: gives advice and posts it. It's like, anyway, money, I
• 58:25
  Speaker 1: love you.
• 58:26
  Speaker 2: You're so funny.
• 58:27
  Speaker 5: I love you.

Speaker 1: in a very exotic locale like Ohio.
• 58:46
Speaker 2: My god, I'm glad.
• 58:47
Speaker 5: I can I tell you I hate the state of Ohio.
• 58:50
Speaker 5: What an awful blaze? Cleveland, Columbus. Uh it is?
• 58:55
Speaker 2: You mean all the all the places in Ohio. Well
