- 0:34SPEAKER_04: I'm O'Brien.
- 0:35SPEAKER_04: I'm Doug.
- 0:36SPEAKER_04: Episode 268.
- 0:38SPEAKER_04: Hello, everybody.
- 0:39SPEAKER_04: Hello, everybody.
- 0:41SPEAKER_11: Hello, everybody.
- 0:44SPEAKER_04: So we're recording this on a Wednesday.
- 0:46SPEAKER_04: I just got in.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: I just like literally like.
- 0:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, this is this is a busy week for you.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: It is a busy week.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: And I'll tell you what, I, you know, so here's what's going on.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: So I was asked again to play guitar for the high school musical this year, and this year they're doing Matilda.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: And so I have the the pit band is all music teachers.
- 1:11SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Every one of them.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: You got Sarah on piano, John on bass, and conducting.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: How he's doing that, I don't know.
- 1:19SPEAKER_04: Because he's John.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: Jenna.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: That's what he does.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: On gosh.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: Bass clarinet, clarinet, uh, saxophone.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: She just has them all sitting right there and she just switches instruments.
- 1:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:31SPEAKER_04: Shawn Diet on flute.
- 1:34SPEAKER_04: Uh I think he plays clarinet as well, and something else.
- 1:38SPEAKER_04: Uh he's he's got two or three instruments.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: Pat Bragdon on drums, and me on guitar.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: And oh, and I'm sorry, Rebecca Willie also plays a synthesizer.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: She plays some really cool things on synthesizer.
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: But all music teachers.
- 1:53SPEAKER_04: And I am the lone music teacher who doesn't read music.
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: And I I say that.
- 2:01SPEAKER_11: I can read music, but not as not even close to what what Well, not for what is necessary to be Right.
- 2:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_11: And when if you've got the guitar uh part is much more uh intricate than Yeah.
- 2:20SPEAKER_11: That's what I thought.
- 2:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: I mean but so sometimes they have block chords.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: I can do that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Like when they have the chords written above, and it's like is it you're going to A minor and it they'll say they'll have instructions like um Spanish feel, right?
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: And so Latin feel, sure.
- 2:41SPEAKER_04: And they give me the chords.
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: I'm there.
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: But then there's no guitar except for all the notes are written out.
- 2:55SPEAKER_11: And you're like, right.
- 2:56SPEAKER_11: Not happening.
- 2:58SPEAKER_11: I don't even know what that is.
- 3:01SPEAKER_13: It's exactly what I'm doing.
- 3:03SPEAKER_13: I'm sitting there, I'm going, hey John, somebody threw up on my music.
- 3:11SPEAKER_04: Is this upside down?
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: Meanwhile, like Rebecca Willie is playing almost the same thing on her synthesizer, and she's probably eating a sandwich.
- 3:24SPEAKER_11: She's like, right.
- 3:28SPEAKER_11: You know.
- 3:29SPEAKER_04: So if if ever I my limitations shown through, it's during this musical.
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: And and John is so nice about it.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: Have I already talked to you about this?
- 3:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:39SPEAKER_04: He's so nice about it.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: He's just like, there's a guitar thing right there.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: Yes, John.
- 3:45SPEAKER_04: Yes, there is.
- 3:46SPEAKER_04: Yes, there is.
- 3:47SPEAKER_04: It's gonna stay on the page.
- 3:49SPEAKER_04: It will not be played.
- 3:51SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm gonna do whatever the F I want.
- 3:54SPEAKER_04: Well, that's the thing.
- 3:55SPEAKER_04: If I had uh if if in those sections they told me what the chord underneath it is.
- 4:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: You could just do that.
- 4:05SPEAKER_04: I could just I could fake it.
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: You know, I could fake my way, you know, and I could play some sort of lead fill within the scale or whatever.
- 4:14SPEAKER_04: But they don't tell you what the chord is on those sections.
- 4:17SPEAKER_11: No, because they're just they they really should have both.
- 4:20SPEAKER_11: You know, I mean because most music does that.
- 4:23SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 4:23SPEAKER_11: You know what I mean?
- 4:25SPEAKER_11: You know, I and you know, I I'm not an expert on scores whatsoever, but the scores I've seen, it usually has it has the chords and it has what you need to play.
- 4:35SPEAKER_11: It's it, you know, it's it's all annotated.
- 4:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, most of most of the time.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: But I mean, if you look at if you look at like Beethoven's scores, he doesn't have the chords.
- 4:43SPEAKER_11: Well, because they didn't invent chord yet.
- 4:49SPEAKER_11: Um He was like, they're like, Beethoven, what's this chord?
- 4:53SPEAKER_11: What?
- 4:59SPEAKER_04: You're on a roll.
- 5:01SPEAKER_04: Um so anyway, uh it was a four-hour rehearsal.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: Tonight?
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: Tonight.
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: Jeez.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: Three to seven, we got a 15-minute break.
- 5:09SPEAKER_11: Man, that's rough.
- 5:11SPEAKER_04: So my butt really hurts.
- 5:12SPEAKER_04: I I do have a cushion for my chair, but it's not the most comfortable chair.
- 5:16SPEAKER_11: I don't care.
- 5:17SPEAKER_11: I don't care how many cushions you have for a chair.
- 5:18SPEAKER_11: When you're sitting for four hours, man, that's just yeah, that's ridiculous.
- 5:21SPEAKER_11: That's ridiculous.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: Redonculous.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: And and you know, I get I get through a part and I'm like, oh, this is cool, this is cool.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm with the rest of the band.
- 5:29SPEAKER_04: We're playing we're playing, we're playing, we're playing.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: And then I stop, and then it's like, oh, okay, yeah, look at that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: Look at that, look at that button there.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: But that part just went by.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: Oh, look at that.
- 5:40SPEAKER_03: Oh, that that was neat.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: You guys sound great.
- 5:42SPEAKER_04: Or or we're in we're in four four, and then it changes to twelve eight.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: Then it changes to six eight, and then we have two.
- 5:51SPEAKER_04: It's like, what is this?
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: A dream theater song?
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: What?
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: Jeez.
- 5:55SPEAKER_11: So where's Mike Portnoy?
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: So, yeah, I we have talked about this now that you say that, because I think you you mentioned Dream Theater last time, too.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: Um, but uh, but this was my first like big rehearsal, like like four-hour rehearsal.
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: We got through the whole show.
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: Um, some great acting.
- 6:13SPEAKER_11: Uh now it's tomorrow night dress rehearsal because opening night is Friday night.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 6:20SPEAKER_11: Um have you ever seen Matilda?
- 6:25SPEAKER_11: I've seen bits of it.
- 6:27SPEAKER_11: I really don't understand what it's about.
- 6:29SPEAKER_11: Seems like be like a British girl at like a girl school.
- 6:34SPEAKER_11: Well, not quite.
- 6:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:35SPEAKER_11: Um sort of boarding, some sort of weird British boarding school that's like a cross between like Oliver Twist and Hogwarts.
- 6:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_04: That's kind of kind of what it is.
- 6:45SPEAKER_04: They do a pretty good job with the British accents.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, they're actually Are they actually doing they're actually doing British accents?
- 6:51SPEAKER_03: Oh good lord.
- 6:52SPEAKER_03: Well, most of them are pretty good.
- 6:54SPEAKER_03: Most of them are pretty good.
- 6:55SPEAKER_11: Um and it's I always I I'm always especially not not not to denigrate kids in theater around here, but when they make them do things like that, I'm always I'm always very cringy.
- 7:09SPEAKER_12: Yeah.
- 7:09SPEAKER_11: Because I'm like, uh, uh here your British accent sounds like you've been dead for three centuries.
- 7:18SPEAKER_04: Well, they're they're doing a good job.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: There's a few that that slip in and out of the American and British accent, you know.
- 7:26SPEAKER_11: But uh That's a good one, huh?
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: The uh the one who plays um um I don't even know her name.
- 7:37SPEAKER_04: She's like the the mean oh Mrs.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: Trunkworthy or Trunkworthy.
- 7:41SPEAKER_04: She's the mean one.
- 7:42SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 7:42SPEAKER_04: Uh anyway, she does a fantastic job with it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:46SPEAKER_04: She's a great actress.
- 7:46SPEAKER_04: She's of course she's a senior this year, and she's been in Well, I was about to say she's she should probably been doing it for a day or two.
- 7:53SPEAKER_04: And she has had if not the lead role, one of the lead roles every year that she's played in high school.
- 7:59SPEAKER_04: So she's but she's that that makes sense.
- 8:01SPEAKER_04: Really her craft has come a long way.
- 8:03SPEAKER_04: Um and she's she does the best British accent, I think.
- 8:06SPEAKER_04: Well good.
- 8:07SPEAKER_04: Um anyway, so that's that's that's my life this week.
- 8:12SPEAKER_11: Uh well, I know I just I was talking to Brandon when he came back from uh taking the middle school kids to see it Tuesday.
- 8:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:18SPEAKER_11: I was like, how was it?
- 8:19SPEAKER_11: He's oh yeah, it was great.
- 8:20SPEAKER_11: I I don't think they did the whole thing.
- 8:22SPEAKER_04: No, they didn't.
- 8:23SPEAKER_11: But I was like, oh yeah, I I imagine they didn't.
- 8:25SPEAKER_11: It's more like uh I was I I imagine they just did the music parts.
- 8:29SPEAKER_11: So for the most part, yeah.
- 8:31SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: Um this my my daughter didn't get to go because my daughter had a orthodontist appointment, and so when they took the middle school over to the high school to watch it, she missed it.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: But all her friends, this is what they the the general consensus is it's loud.
- 8:50SPEAKER_04: Because probably there's a lot of well, Mrs.
- 8:55SPEAKER_04: Trunkworth or Trunkworthy, I can't remember her name.
- 8:58SPEAKER_11: We're just gonna call her Mrs.
- 8:59SPEAKER_11: Butterworth.
- 9:00SPEAKER_04: She uh is very angry and yells a lot, you know.
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: And the there's a lot of yelling.
- 9:10SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: So I can understand why why they all said it was So it's like Christmas at Joe Pesci's house.
- 9:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah, pretty much.
- 9:16SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: Um I can understand why they said it was loud.
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: But uh and I mean I'm I don't know that I'm saying anything I haven't said before.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: I hate the music.
- 9:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:26SPEAKER_04: Um it's very well done.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: It's very well written, and this band, yours ex yours is truly excluded, does a fantastic job playing it.
- 9:38unknown: I just don't like it.
- 9:39SPEAKER_11: I totally get it, man.
- 9:41SPEAKER_11: I mean it doesn't sound any I mean if it was Greece, I could get into it.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_11: Uh if it was Phantom, definitely could get into it, but this doesn't sound like my Yeah, no.
- 9:51SPEAKER_04: I would go I I want to encourage people to go see it just to see the acting and the and the um British accent.
- 9:59SPEAKER_04: That's my my pipes.
- 10:00SPEAKER_11: Oh, I thought we were shorting out like no the heat is on apparently.
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: So okay, well that's good.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: It's the disclaimer, we're not dying.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: It's the um plastic pipes.
- 10:13SPEAKER_04: Do you know the like PVC?
- 10:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:15SPEAKER_04: So yeah.
- 10:16SPEAKER_04: Anyway, um yeah, so I have a performance on Friday night, two performances on Saturday, and one on Sunday afternoon.
- 10:25SPEAKER_04: So and my daughter is going has a basketball game in Madawask on Sunday.
- 10:30SPEAKER_04: My boys have uh basketball games down in like Rockland, Belfast on Saturday.
- 10:37SPEAKER_04: It's preseason, but but so you're not going to be.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: I'm not going.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: My wife is going.
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:41SPEAKER_04: Um so they had tryouts, and obviously Eli made varsity.
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: Finn is swinging.
- 10:49SPEAKER_11: Is he really?
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so Finn made varsity and he's also playing on JV.
- 10:52SPEAKER_11: Not bad as a sophomore.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: Good for him.
- 10:56SPEAKER_04: So I was just upstairs before you got here, and he's like, Yeah, practice was really hard.
- 11:04SPEAKER_04: So he's gotta get whip himself into shape for that.
- 11:08SPEAKER_11: I love I love his truck, by the way.
- 11:10SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's nice, isn't it?
- 11:11SPEAKER_11: It's a very nice truck.
- 11:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_11: I just think it's funny that it's way better than his brother's.
- 11:15SPEAKER_11: It's like a little baby.
- 11:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's like it's like it was like, oh, look, oh, Finn, your truck had a baby.
- 11:22SPEAKER_11: It's true.
- 11:22SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: And I feel so bad.
- 11:24SPEAKER_04: Of course, uh Eli's truck technically is my truck.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: You know, but he he uses it and and uh I I keep saying, you know, we gotta get Eli a different vehicle.
- 11:35SPEAKER_04: You know, but he's going away to college.
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: You know, and I don't know that he's gonna take a vehicle his first year of school.
- 11:40SPEAKER_04: I don't know where he's going.
- 11:41SPEAKER_04: He has to figure out where he's um so we're kind of waiting.
- 11:45SPEAKER_11: But well, I would I would cross that bridge when you get to it.
- 11:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah, exactly.
- 11:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 11:48SPEAKER_04: But uh he does need a new vehicle.
- 11:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's it's yeah, that'll be maybe not quite like that, but Right.
- 11:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:55SPEAKER_11: Um maybe if he's gonna be traveling between, you know, we college and here, yeah.
- 12:00SPEAKER_11: He's gonna want something more gas efficient.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: Yes, I agree.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: So uh I think he probably wants a truck, but I think probably Well, he's gonna need a truck.
- 12:08SPEAKER_11: He can't drive I mean the dude is over six feet.
- 12:11SPEAKER_11: I mean he needs a he needs a truck.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: Something.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:14SPEAKER_04: Something, yeah.
- 12:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:15SPEAKER_04: So uh we got some listener mail.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: Listener mail.
- 12:19SPEAKER_11: And by that I mean listener mail.
- 12:21SPEAKER_11: We got some listener mail.
- 12:24SPEAKER_11: Bye now.
- 12:24SPEAKER_04: And by that I mean bouncing bob.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Bouncing Bob! That's okay.
- 12:27SPEAKER_04: You know, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 12:28SPEAKER_04: We love bouncing Bob and we love uh we're a boy.
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: Hearing from him.
- 12:32SPEAKER_04: But you know, when he he listens to one of the podcasts and and and has to respond sometimes.
- 12:37SPEAKER_11: So well, at least somebody is.
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: So his uh latest email, listen, this came in, I want to see if I get the right one here.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 12:48SPEAKER_04: So this came in uh this one came in November 6th.
- 12:52SPEAKER_04: So this one So we're not too far behind.
- 12:54SPEAKER_04: We're not too far behind.
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: He uh this is he he sent a couple.
- 12:57SPEAKER_04: Uh so he sent one since this one.
- 13:00SPEAKER_04: So I'll just read them all.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: Uh so Bouncing Bob here, just listening to the latest latest episode, Kiss National Guard.
- 13:07SPEAKER_04: I still love it.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: You mentioned how Darius Hootie Rucker was involved in a new venture with R.E.M.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: bandmates.
- 13:14SPEAKER_04: Coincidentally, I'm reading Darius's memoir, Life's Too Short, and he writes that REM was one of the earliest influences on the band.
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: We knew that.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, we were Hootie and the Bluefish was one of the earliest influences on us.
- 13:26SPEAKER_11: Well they did, uh they on their Scattered Smothered and their their covers album, they did an R.E.M.
- 13:35SPEAKER_11: song.
- 13:35SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 13:35SPEAKER_11: Uh Driver Driver.
- 13:36SPEAKER_04: Driver 8.
- 13:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:38SPEAKER_04: Um well he says the very first songs that Darius and Mark Bryan sing together are R.E.M.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: songs.
- 13:43SPEAKER_04: South Central Rain and Don't Go Back to Rockville.
- 13:46SPEAKER_04: As a matter of fact, before they became famous at their earliest concerts as a band, their set lists were all REM songs.
- 13:51SPEAKER_04: Darius names all the chapters after songs that influenced him at various stages of his career.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: And that leads to the other tie-in to your podcast, KISS.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: Two of the chapters show the influence of KISS, Detroit Rock City and Beth.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: A very interesting read.
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: I heartily recommend it to you and Doug.
- 14:08SPEAKER_11: Well, I have I have Sony's uh uh You do?
- 14:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah.

- 14:14SPEAKER_11: It's not a physical book, it's on my Audible.
- 14:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, I didn't even know he had one out.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he did.
- 14:19SPEAKER_04: Um and then let's see.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: November 6th, same same uh same day, Bouncing Bob submission number two.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: I'm interested in becoming a member of the KISS National Guard.

- 14:35SPEAKER_04: Let listeners support the podcast by joining the official podcast group, the KISS National Guard.
- 14:40SPEAKER_11: So he wants us to call our fan base the KISS National Guard?
- 14:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, something.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 14:46SPEAKER_11: Well, I think I think we can come up some better than that.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: I think so too.
- 14:49SPEAKER_04: Because Kiss National Guard is just Well, I'm I got stuck at legions of fans.
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: I'm not sure about Legions.

- 15:01SPEAKER_04: Our our tens of fans.
- 15:04SPEAKER_11: Our ones of fans.
- 15:07SPEAKER_11: What's a fancy word for ones?
- 15:09SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: Uh all right.

- 15:15SPEAKER_04: This is the one that came in yesterday.
- 15:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: Uh two things.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: Parentheses suggestions.
- 15:21SPEAKER_04: End of the year remembrances.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: Perhaps you and Doug can ref recollect some of the huge rock stars we lost.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: I like the way he puts this.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: Recollect some of the huge rock stars we lost to death in 2025.
- 15:38SPEAKER_11: We lost them to death.
- 15:40SPEAKER_11: Well, we lost them in the woods.
- 15:44SPEAKER_11: They just wandered off.
- 15:46SPEAKER_11: We don't know where they are.
- 15:47SPEAKER_11: We lost them to death.
- 15:49SPEAKER_11: Some we launched into space.
- 15:51SPEAKER_04: Seems it was a a year of huge losses to the rock world.
- 15:55SPEAKER_04: Aussie, ace, etc.
- 15:56SPEAKER_04: Some of them I some of them I did not know.
- 15:58SPEAKER_04: And perhaps you guys could talk about what they contributed to the rock world and where are the podcast t-shirts.
- 16:03SPEAKER_04: You need to have something us fans can buy.
- 16:06SPEAKER_11: That I agree with.
- 16:07SPEAKER_11: We should have some merch.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Well, I I yeah, I think so too.
- 16:12SPEAKER_11: I mean, I mean I mean, we don't need a big run of it.
- 16:15SPEAKER_11: We just need like maybe made to order.
- 16:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I mean, if whoever wants a whoever wants an O'Brien and Doug t-shirt, just message us and we'll send it to you.
- 16:25SPEAKER_04: Well, we could, I mean, w we could put a store on the Facebook page.
- 16:30SPEAKER_11: We could, but that's a lot of work.
- 16:31SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 16:32SPEAKER_11: And we don't have any stuff to sell.
- 16:34SPEAKER_11: We could well we could like sell like sparkling ice.
- 16:38SPEAKER_11: I'll I'll just buy a bunch.
- 16:39SPEAKER_04: I would think that uh that would be a copyright infringement or a trademark or something.
- 16:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, probably.
- 16:43SPEAKER_11: But you know you just picked it up.
- 16:45SPEAKER_11: Oh, you know what?
- 16:46SPEAKER_11: We'll sell our used bottles.
- 16:47SPEAKER_11: That'll be like uh memorabilia.
- 16:52SPEAKER_11: Hey, we could like autograph like Doug drank this on podcast number two six eight, you know, and they're like, oh, then they could and then they put it up on their shelf.
- 17:01SPEAKER_11: They're like, and people are like, hey, you got an empty bottle on your shelf?
- 17:04SPEAKER_11: They're like, no.
- 17:06SPEAKER_11: Doug drank that bottle.
- 17:07SPEAKER_11: Uh he was recording.
- 17:08SPEAKER_11: Don't touch episode.
- 17:09SPEAKER_11: Don't touch it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_11: Don't don't even breathe on it.
- 17:13SPEAKER_11: He drank that when he talked about the KISS National Guard.
- 17:15SPEAKER_11: That's the Kiss National Guard bottle.
- 17:17SPEAKER_11: And this is Yeah.
- 17:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we should have we should have some merch.
- 17:25SPEAKER_11: Something.
- 17:26SPEAKER_04: And I think made to order is pretty easy.
- 17:28SPEAKER_11: Well, yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_11: I mean, that way we're not like stuck with like you gotta order a minimum of 50 and we're stuck with 48, you know, forever and ever.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: Well, I don't think we have to order a minimum of anything.
- 17:39SPEAKER_04: My wife could make it.
- 17:40SPEAKER_11: Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: But I'm just saying, you know, yeah, just but like if we get if we can order, my wife can make it and then send it out.
- 17:46SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 17:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: Um That leads me to our next thing.
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: Uh not that we're leaving you uh high and dry, Bob.
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: I think that's a great idea.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Uh kind of an end-of-year thing.
- 17:57SPEAKER_11: Um I actually I actually think that's a good idea.
- 18:00SPEAKER_11: We could do like a retro, like a year end recording.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, year-end recap or something.
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what happened this year.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: Whatever.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: That's a good idea.
- 18:07SPEAKER_04: Um but we could go month by month.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: Kind of leads me to my my other thing, which was I want to come up with some liners that we can have cousin Larry say.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: Um, because I mean he's sent us a couple of things, but I think he wants more guidance.
- 18:27SPEAKER_04: I think he wants uh a better idea of what we're looking for.
- 18:32SPEAKER_04: So, I'm gonna write them down.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: And you we're gonna come up with them.
- 18:36SPEAKER_04: So we're doing this right now?
- 18:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right now.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right now.
- 18:39SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: Um we want him to say, Oh, Brian and Doug.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: Done.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: Done.
- 18:49SPEAKER_04: Next song.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Uh you're listening to the Brian and Doug podcast.
- 19:04SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: We want him to say.
- 19:09SPEAKER_11: Are you looking for like taglines?
- 19:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_11: Is that what you're doing?
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:13SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 19:14SPEAKER_04: I see what you're saying.
- 19:15SPEAKER_04: Like uh something something funny.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: I mean, he's done a couple already that are pretty good.
- 19:23SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: Uh do you have any in mind?
- 19:26SPEAKER_11: Uh see.
- 19:27SPEAKER_11: O'Brien and Doug.
- 19:28SPEAKER_11: Nickelback free since 2000, whenever they came out.

- 21:57SPEAKER_04: Oh, we should we should do something liner about the algorithm.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Uh O'Brien and Doug.
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 22:08SPEAKER_04: Something with the word algorithm would be kind of funny.
- 22:12SPEAKER_11: O'Brien and Doug.
- 22:15SPEAKER_11: Predicting celebrity deaths since 2025.
- 22:22SPEAKER_11: 2025, O'Brien and Doug.

- 23:06SPEAKER_04: Uh O'Brien and Doug, we're just here to mess with your algorithm.
- 23:09SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: That's better.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: I like that.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: I like that too.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: Um ones of fans can't be wrong.
- 23:17SPEAKER_04: Ones or tens?
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: I like ones.
- 23:20SPEAKER_04: I like ones too.
- 23:21SPEAKER_04: Um let's do just a couple more.
- 23:23SPEAKER_04: Let's see if we can think of a couple more.
- 23:26SPEAKER_04: Um yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: You got one, I can tell.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: It's on the tip of the side.
- 23:35SPEAKER_11: I'm trying to figure out how to word it with make it funny.
- 23:37SPEAKER_11: So I'd be like, O'Brien and Doug.
- 23:42SPEAKER_11: The O'Brien and Doug podcast where the stars are cousin Larry and Miss Judgeness.
- 23:47SPEAKER_11: We're the real stars.
- 23:49SPEAKER_11: We're the real stars.
- 23:49SPEAKER_13: Hold on.
- 23:51SPEAKER_04: We're the real stars are cousin Larry and is it her judgeness, right?
- 24:01SPEAKER_11: Miss Well didn't she call herself Miss Judgments?
- 24:04SPEAKER_11: Miss Judgeness.
- 24:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 24:06SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 24:07SPEAKER_04: Missjudgeness.
- 24:08SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 24:09SPEAKER_04: Where the real stars are cousin Larry and Miss Judgeness.
- 24:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, see, there we go.
- 24:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's why that works.
- 24:13SPEAKER_11: Um, Brian and Doug, we know nothing about music and it shows.
- 24:24SPEAKER_11: We know nothing.
- 24:27SPEAKER_11: How about just we know nothing?
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there you go.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: We know nothing.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: And it shows.
- 24:32SPEAKER_04: Schultz from uh Hogan Hogan's Heroes.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: I know nothing.
- 24:37SPEAKER_04: We know nothing.
- 24:38SPEAKER_04: We know nothing, and it shows.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: I like that too.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Uh it's all this it's the self-deprecation that really, you know.
- 24:47SPEAKER_11: Well, that's what that's what I think that's what sells us.
- 24:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 24:49SPEAKER_11: Because everybody and that way, anybody that listens this podcast.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: Is that what sells us?
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: Because we had like 22 listeners last week.
- 24:56SPEAKER_11: Well, I know.
- 24:57SPEAKER_11: I mean, you know, quote unquote sells us.
- 25:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 25:00SPEAKER_11: You know, because I I think people just, you know, stumble on this podcast and are like, what am I listening to?
- 25:05SPEAKER_12: Yeah, no, I agree.
- 25:06SPEAKER_11: What is with these guys?
- 25:07SPEAKER_12: I agree.
- 25:07SPEAKER_11: You know what I mean?
- 25:08SPEAKER_11: There's there's like no rhyme or reason to this, like to this.
- 25:12SPEAKER_11: It's like Joe Rogan had a stroke and it's still going.
- 25:14SPEAKER_11: You know?
- 25:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 25:16SPEAKER_11: You know, even then, he would still have a bigger podcast than us.
- 25:19SPEAKER_13: That's probably true.
- 25:19SPEAKER_13: You know.
- 25:24SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: Joe Rogan's numbers.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: Uh let's see.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Um I already answered the uh listener mail.
- 25:34SPEAKER_04: Uh we'll we'll come back to that.
- 25:36SPEAKER_11: We'll we'll uh we'll um I'm sure we'll come up with other things.
- 25:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: Uh all right, some music news.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: We'll read some headlines from Ultimate Classic Rock.
- 25:46SPEAKER_04: We've killed another celebrity.
- 25:49SPEAKER_04: No, we oh yes, we did.
- 25:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we did.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: Actually, okay, so so yeah, and that's that's one of the reasons we came up with that liner.
- 25:56SPEAKER_04: Um we we talked about him, was it last week or the week before?
- 26:00SPEAKER_11: Well, we've we've talked about him for a couple weeks because he you know had these random, like, oh, he got into a fight.
- 26:06SPEAKER_11: Oh no, he got you know, he got belligerent with hospital staff, and now he got arrested, you know, and stuff like this.
- 26:12SPEAKER_11: And now I'm like, now he's dead, and I'm like, what the what is going on?
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: We're talking about Todd Snyder.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: Um we we actually played played a couple of his uh tunes the other day, All Right Guy, and uh talking Seattle Grunge Blues.
- 26:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:27SPEAKER_04: Um we were pretty big fans of Todd Snyder, and we talked about him, and then he got into a um, like you said, some sort of altercation.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: I and then uh it was attacked, went to the hospital, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: Well, then he dies of pneumonia.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:49SPEAKER_11: It's like, where did that come from?
- 26:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't uh and and Is that why he was at the hospital?
- 26:54SPEAKER_11: Because he had pneumonia?
- 26:56SPEAKER_04: Well, that's the thing.
- 26:57SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 26:58SPEAKER_04: I don't but uh something tells me there were there was not pneumonia.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: I don't know uh if it was drugs and they're just trying to Yeah, it could be you know, yeah.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: Um I don't know.
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: So I can't I I probably shouldn't even put that out there.
- 27:14SPEAKER_04: But still, I mean, even if he did die of pneumonia, w we talked about him.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and now he's dead.
- 27:19SPEAKER_04: Now he's dead.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: It's the curse of this podcast.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: So this is the third one in this year, right?
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Ace Freely.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: Uh Ace Freely, the uh The Queen didn't die this year.
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: No, not this year, but we did talk about the Queen and shortly after that she died.
- 27:34SPEAKER_04: She died, yeah.
- 27:35SPEAKER_11: Who else did we talk about?
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: Um Maybe it was just Ace Freely.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: No, there was somebody else.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: Was there?
- 27:41SPEAKER_04: I think I think there was somebody else that we talked about, and then they they pass.
- 27:45SPEAKER_04: And and then then and then there's Todd Snyder.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: We talk about it.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: Can't remember who the other one is.
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: And then he dies.
- 27:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:50SPEAKER_04: So it's the it's the curse of the O'Brien and Doug podcast.
- 27:54SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 27:54SPEAKER_11: That's what we should call this.
- 27:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:56SPEAKER_04: The the the episode you mean?
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: That's the way we're gonna call the curse of the episode.
- 27:59SPEAKER_11: The curse of O'Brien and Doug.
- 28:01SPEAKER_11: The cur the curse of O'Brien and Doug.
- 28:03SPEAKER_11: Starring Johnny Depp.
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: Not Chad Kroger.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: No.
- 28:13SPEAKER_04: Look at this burger.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: Look at this crap.
- 28:19SPEAKER_11: Uh But the question would be, is Johnny gonna play you or me?
- 28:24SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 28:26SPEAKER_11: I think I I think I know who I wanted to play me is Horatio Sands.
- 28:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, that would be perfect.
- 28:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 28:32SPEAKER_11: Horatio Sands is if uh if Chris Farley was still alive, I'd rather have him, but yeah, Horatio Sands is a good second.
- 28:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:38SPEAKER_11: So and then Johnny Depp could play you.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: No, Johnny Depp wouldn't play me.
- 28:43SPEAKER_04: You know who would play me?
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 28:45SPEAKER_04: Uh Kiefer Sutherland.
- 28:48SPEAKER_04: Good point.
- 28:49SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 28:50SPEAKER_11: I still remember that haircut I gave you.
- 28:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I know.
- 28:52SPEAKER_11: You you complained because you're I was like, dude, you look like Kiefer Sutherland in 24.
- 28:56SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 28:56SPEAKER_11: It's true.
- 28:57SPEAKER_11: You and you hated it.
- 28:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah, absolutely hated it.
- 28:59SPEAKER_11: I thought don't ask me to give you a haircut again.
- 29:02SPEAKER_11: That was my first buzz, right?
- 29:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:03SPEAKER_04: That was my first buzz cut.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 29:05SPEAKER_03: I thought I did a good job.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: I liked it, and my wife didn't.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: No, she she was not a big choice.
- 29:09SPEAKER_04: She's like, don't do that again.
- 29:10SPEAKER_04: Uh but then now I have no choice.
- 29:11SPEAKER_04: But it was free.
- 29:12SPEAKER_04: Now I have no choice.
- 29:14SPEAKER_11: It was a free haircut.
- 29:15SPEAKER_11: It was.
- 29:15SPEAKER_11: I was gonna say, you know, I'm pretty good with haircuts.
- 29:18SPEAKER_11: Um as you want a buzz cut.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: Alex Van Halen's already coming out with a new book, another book.
- 29:26SPEAKER_03: Maybe this one's a coloring book.
- 29:28SPEAKER_11: Did you read about that?
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: No, I didn't hear anything about it.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: Uh his second book is gonna focus on a crucial Van Halen era.
- 29:34SPEAKER_04: Uh the book will feature rare and never before seen photographs as well as Van Halen's memories of six specific years in the band's career.
- 29:41SPEAKER_04: And this would be early in the band, like with Roth.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 29:46SPEAKER_04: I guess he's bored and wants to get it all out there.
- 29:49SPEAKER_04: Or he's broke.
- 29:50SPEAKER_04: I don't think he's broke.
- 29:52SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think so either.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: I could be wrong, but I I think they did pretty well.
- 29:55SPEAKER_11: Well, I just I I you know.
- 29:57SPEAKER_11: I okay.
- 29:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_11: Guess whatever.
- 29:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:00SPEAKER_04: Um, David Coverdale of Whitesnake.
- 30:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he retired.
- 30:03SPEAKER_04: He's retiring.
- 30:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: Um good for him.
- 30:05SPEAKER_04: It's kind of refreshing.
- 30:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 30:07SPEAKER_04: You know, when you know, I mean, he could probably go out and maybe do a farewell tour.
- 30:15SPEAKER_04: I think there were plans for that a couple years ago.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: Uh and probably not sing as well as he used to.
- 30:23SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 30:24SPEAKER_04: Um, and please the fans.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: But he just is like, you know what?
- 30:31SPEAKER_04: I don't wanna.
- 30:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm done.
- 30:33SPEAKER_04: I'm done.
- 30:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:34SPEAKER_04: More power to you, dude.
- 30:35SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's cool.
- 30:36SPEAKER_11: He's like, see you later, weirdos.
- 30:38SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: So, so yeah, so there's no more music coming.
- 30:42SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, he's been putting out um rare white snake stuff and remixes and things like that over the past few years anyway.
- 30:49SPEAKER_04: So he's put putting out all kinds of stuff.
- 30:51SPEAKER_11: I'm sure.
- 30:51SPEAKER_11: I'm sure he'll keep doing something.
- 30:53SPEAKER_11: Something.
- 30:54SPEAKER_11: He's just not gonna tour anymore.
- 30:55SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 30:56SPEAKER_11: So um, but I don't think he's gonna record anymore either.
- 30:59SPEAKER_11: I mean, he could he's probably got plenty of stuff laying around with it.
- 31:02SPEAKER_11: I think he probably does.
- 31:06SPEAKER_04: Uh let's see.
- 31:07SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 31:08SPEAKER_04: Dennis DeYoung from St from Styx, formerly of Styx, wants to the rock hall to change their shameful ways.
- 31:15SPEAKER_04: And I did read this article.
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: Uh and we've been saying this for a long time.
- 31:21SPEAKER_04: Uh he was really ticked off that Paul Rogers from Bad Company could Brian and Doug dissing the rock and roll hall of fame since 2020.
- 31:30SPEAKER_11: Hold on.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: Hold on, let me write it down.
- 31:33SPEAKER_11: See, I know he'd come up with more.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: Dissing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2020.
- 31:41SPEAKER_04: Um.
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: So he was talking about Paul Rogers and how Paul Rogers had to.
- 31:47SPEAKER_04: He's Paul Rogers from Bad Company has had several strokes recently.
- 31:51SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 31:51SPEAKER_04: He's okay, uh, and he's getting around and he's spending time with his grandkids and everything.
- 31:56SPEAKER_04: But because of that, he pulled out of uh going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 32:02SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 32:02SPEAKER_04: Like the ceremony, the induction ceremony.
- 32:05SPEAKER_04: And uh Dennis Deeung is ticked that the Rock Hall waited so long to put Bad Company in because they were eligible to be put in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame years ago.
- 32:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:19SPEAKER_04: And that's the case with a bunch of bands.
- 32:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:22SPEAKER_04: Uh that um, well, I mean, look at Foreigner.
- 32:25SPEAKER_04: Uh Foreigner went in and some of the like Mick Jones is uh on Death's Door, it seems.
- 32:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:33SPEAKER_04: Um and why are we waiting so long to do this?
- 32:37SPEAKER_04: And he starts complaining about um all the artists in there that aren't necessarily rock and roll, and he says the same thing we do, just change the name.
- 32:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 32:47SPEAKER_04: Change the from the rock and roll hall of fame to something else.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 32:51SPEAKER_04: Um and I agree with him.
- 32:54SPEAKER_04: Uh why are we waiting so long to put these these storied rock and roll artists in there instead of doing it on when they're not here anymore, posthumously.
- 33:06SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: Or when they're having health problems.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: You know, let them enjoy their moment, you know, where people celebrate them, you know, and and inducting them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 33:21SPEAKER_04: Let them be here to do that.
- 33:23SPEAKER_04: Uh it's kind of annoying.
- 33:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 33:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:26SPEAKER_11: Just slightly.
- 33:27SPEAKER_04: Just slightly.
- 33:28SPEAKER_04: Uh let's see.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: Um I'm looking through Ultimate Classic Rocks uh list of well, Graham Nash is going on tour, a bunch of people going on tour.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: Um Bo Dean's are going out on their 40th anniversary tour.
- 33:45SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, next next year.
- 33:48SPEAKER_04: Um just reading some of these headlines.
- 33:51SPEAKER_04: Ian Gillen from Deep Purple hints at retirement amid health troubles.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: Probably since David covered it, I'll just announce that he's retiring.
- 34:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's probably like, yeah, it's a good time.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: That's a good that's a good idea, David.
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, maybe I'll do that too.
- 34:06SPEAKER_04: Uh Tedesky Trucks Band going out on tour.
- 34:09SPEAKER_04: Uh, let's see, Warren Haynes going out on tour.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Weird Yankee.
- 34:14SPEAKER_04: Coming to Bangor, yes.
- 34:16SPEAKER_04: Did you see the other announcement?
- 34:17SPEAKER_04: What?
- 34:18SPEAKER_04: Uh also coming to Bangor.
- 34:20SPEAKER_04: I don't like the headliner.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: Motley Crue is bringing their Carnival of Sins tour to Bangor.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:28SPEAKER_04: So Motley Crue is the headliner, but Tesla and Extreme are opening.
- 34:34SPEAKER_04: I would go for that and then leave.
- 34:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah, absolutely.
- 34:37SPEAKER_11: Absolutely, man.
- 34:38SPEAKER_04: Um, I would I want to see Extreme.
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: I love Tesla too.
- 34:41SPEAKER_04: I've seen them a couple times, but I would like to see Extreme.
- 34:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: And then and then I'll bolt.
- 34:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, just for uh for um Motley Crue.
- 34:51SPEAKER_04: They are not my my favorite.
- 34:53SPEAKER_04: Um let's see, Paul.
- 34:56SPEAKER_04: Remember what we did uh a couple weeks ago?
- 35:00SPEAKER_04: Uh we were talking about KISS lyrics and how awful they were.
- 35:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:04SPEAKER_04: This headline, just just Paul Stanley admits he's outgrown some KISS lyrics.
- 35:10SPEAKER_04: No, really Yeah.
- 35:14SPEAKER_04: Uh Gene Simmons doesn't seem to share his bandmate's concern.
- 35:19SPEAKER_11: Uh Gene Simmons is kind of an alien.
- 35:21SPEAKER_11: A little he just he he's built different.
- 35:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: So uh Santana going out on tour.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: Um Z Z Top going out on tour across America.
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: Who's gonna play bass?
- 35:33SPEAKER_04: They're the Dusty Hills uh bass tech?
- 35:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:37SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 35:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think so.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: I think he's the permanent replacement, is what I understand anyway.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: Guns N' Roses announced first U.S.
- 35:44SPEAKER_04: concert of 2026.
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: They're only doing one U.S.
- 35:48SPEAKER_04: concert so far.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Um I almost want to read this one.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: Uh Doc McGee, the manager of well, he was the manager of KISS, manager of Bon Jovi for a yeah.
- 35:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he was a big manager.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: Big big time manager.
- 36:01SPEAKER_04: He says, I don't believe Bon Jovi would have made it today.
- 36:07SPEAKER_04: Do you agree with that?
- 36:08SPEAKER_11: That's uh that's uh that's an interesting uh interesting question.
- 36:14SPEAKER_11: Well when you think about like when Bon Jovi came out, uh everything that was Well, I mean if you think about there's nothing really remarkable about Bon Jovi.
- 36:28SPEAKER_11: To be honest with you.
- 36:32SPEAKER_11: It's just it's just it was just good solid, you know, catchy catchy music.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: Catchy music.
- 36:38SPEAKER_04: It's it's pop rock.
- 36:40SPEAKER_11: It would it would get buried today, yeah.
- 36:42SPEAKER_04: You think so?
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: Well, let's think about um let's say Bon Jovi's Slippery Wet Album.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Um or maybe even New Jersey.
- 36:54SPEAKER_04: Is there anything like that today?
- 37:02SPEAKER_04: Not really.
- 37:03SPEAKER_04: No.
- 37:04SPEAKER_04: Because I mean most of the bands most of the rock bands that are on pop radio are I don't know.
- 37:17SPEAKER_04: I don't know, I'd I I'd have to think about that.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: Whether Bon Jovi would make it today as a as a I don't think they'd be as big.
- 37:28SPEAKER_11: I don't think they'd have the level of success that they had.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: Well, keep in mind the era that it came out was the MTV era.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:39SPEAKER_04: You know, and and women were in love with John Bon Jovi.
- 37:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, sure.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: Um, and followed him for that reason, and he sang and he wrote songs for them.
- 37:51SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 37:52SPEAKER_11: Oh of course.
- 37:53SPEAKER_04: Um and I would equate someone like Bon Jovi.
- 38:01SPEAKER_04: This is gonna be a weird statement, I think.
- 38:03SPEAKER_04: But someone like Bon Jovi, even though they play their own instruments, I would equate them to like the Jonas brothers today.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: Or you know, one of these pop groups.
- 38:19SPEAKER_04: Like a one direction.
- 38:21SPEAKER_04: One direction.
- 38:22SPEAKER_04: But you know, they they're a rock band, they play their instruments.
- 38:25SPEAKER_04: But I mean it's the kind of music, it's pop music.
- 38:27SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 38:28SPEAKER_04: Basically, is what it is.
- 38:29SPEAKER_04: Um the earlier stuff, of course, was a little heavier, but not not really.
- 38:33SPEAKER_04: Not really, no.
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: I mean, it was, but it wasn't.
- 38:36SPEAKER_04: Um so I don't know.
- 38:38SPEAKER_04: I kind of want to read that.
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna open it up right now, but it says the former manager of Montley Crew and Bon Jovi and Kiss, current manager says, corporate greed has killed the reef.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: The what?
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: The reef.
- 38:54SPEAKER_04: The reef?
- 38:54SPEAKER_04: The reef.
- 38:56SPEAKER_04: Uh now I have to open it.
- 38:58SPEAKER_04: Sorry, I have to read it.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: Um speaking during a QA session at this weekend's Kiss Cruz.
- 39:06SPEAKER_04: Um Kiss's current manager predicted that we're going to miss out on future generations of great music because corporate greed has killed the industry's ecosystem.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: Uh he says, I think Motley Crue would have happened because of how I think Motley Crue would have happened because of how infectious that was and how kids connected.
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: Uh he began reference another one of his former clients.
- 39:26SPEAKER_04: I don't believe Bon Jovi would have made it because it took too long for us to get to the band's 1986 commercial breakthrough, Slippery When Wet.
- 39:33SPEAKER_04: Now today we don't have three album deals.
- 39:36SPEAKER_04: We have one single deal.
- 39:37SPEAKER_04: We have 187,000 songs that go to Spotify every day.
- 39:41SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 39:42SPEAKER_04: And they think that in the next year or two there will be over 300,000 songs per day on Spotify.
- 39:50SPEAKER_11: That's nuts.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: Um technology and a lot of greed has been allowed into the music business in the last decade and a half.
- 39:58SPEAKER_04: I don't disagree with that.
- 39:59SPEAKER_11: No, I think that's a fairly assumed statement.
- 40:03SPEAKER_04: I do too.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: Um Rello has bad news for audio slave fans.
- 40:12SPEAKER_04: Chris Cornell's dead?
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: Is that something?
- 40:14SPEAKER_11: I think we knew that, Tom.
- 40:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think I think we knew that.
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: I think we were well aware of it.
- 40:19SPEAKER_04: Says the surviving members are no closer to releasing their unheard material.
- 40:23SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: Made up of Soundgardens, Chris Cornell.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: Uh I guess I didn't have no, they had.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: In 2019, two years after Cornell's death, Morello revealed that Audio Slave had a record's worth of unheard material that will be released at some point.
- 40:38SPEAKER_04: However, in the six years since then, some point has never come, and it sounds like we may be waiting a long time before it does.
- 40:44SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, I hope it does come out.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: I like that band.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:47SPEAKER_04: I thought they were pretty great.
- 40:49SPEAKER_04: Chris Cornell, uh obviously one of the greatest singers, rock singers ever.
- 40:53SPEAKER_04: Um let's see.
- 40:57SPEAKER_04: I did want to see this story.
- 41:00SPEAKER_04: Because we've talked about this.
- 41:02SPEAKER_04: The evolution.
- 41:03SPEAKER_04: Who are the big four of yacht rock?
- 41:06SPEAKER_11: Haven't we already done that?
- 41:08SPEAKER_11: Uh we've done big four of like metal and stuff like that, hard rock, guitar players and stuff like that.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 41:15SPEAKER_03: Well, before I before I look at it, Michael McDonald.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: That's number one.
- 41:19SPEAKER_03: Christopher Cross.
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: Christopher Cross.
- 41:21SPEAKER_03: Uh Boss Gaggs.
- 41:23SPEAKER_04: Boss Gaggs?
- 41:24SPEAKER_11: Kenny Loggins.
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: I was just gonna say Kenny Loggins.
- 41:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: A lot of people think Kenny Loggins like danger zone and footloose, but before that.
- 41:32SPEAKER_04: Oh, he was way before that.
- 41:33SPEAKER_04: He was yacht rock.
- 41:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 41:34SPEAKER_04: Uh big time.
- 41:35SPEAKER_04: So say that again.
- 41:36SPEAKER_04: Michael McDonald.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Boss Gaggs.
- 41:38SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 41:39SPEAKER_04: Um, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins.
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: Correct.
- 41:43SPEAKER_04: Um I'm going to I'm gonna go with those four.
- 41:49SPEAKER_04: So those will be our our our matching four.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: But I'm gonna throw in Ambrosia.
- 41:57SPEAKER_04: Uh I'm gonna throw in uh would Steely Dan be in there?
- 42:08SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 42:09SPEAKER_11: They were more proggy than Yachty.
- 42:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well jazz.
- 42:12SPEAKER_04: They're very jazz too.
- 42:14SPEAKER_04: Um I don't know.
- 42:14SPEAKER_04: Let's just stick with what we got.
- 42:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 42:16SPEAKER_04: But I think I'm ambrosia, as far as bands go, Ambrosia was one of them.
- 42:20SPEAKER_04: Let's see what they say.
- 42:22SPEAKER_04: Uh who are the big few for?
- 42:23SPEAKER_04: Oh, Kelly Loggins, Juan.
- 42:26SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 42:30SPEAKER_04: That's funny that I said the Steely Dan.
- 42:33SPEAKER_04: Uh because they're number two.
- 42:35SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 42:35SPEAKER_04: Okay, I wouldn't.
- 42:36SPEAKER_04: Steely Dan.
- 42:37SPEAKER_11: I don't really consider them Yacht Rock, but I I get it.
- 42:40SPEAKER_11: They're rock they're Yacht Rock adjacent.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: Remember that, I think maybe we we talked about this, but that Yacht Rock documentary, uh, which I haven't seen yet.
- 42:49SPEAKER_11: No, I haven't seen it either.
- 42:51SPEAKER_04: Um director uh called uh called Donald Fagan of Steely Dan to discuss the genre.
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: He got hung up on, but not before Donald Fagan shot back.
- 43:00SPEAKER_04: I'll tell you what, why don't you go F yourself?
- 43:02SPEAKER_11: Oh, right, yeah.
- 43:03SPEAKER_04: Because he doesn't like the term Yacht Rock.
- 43:06SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 43:06SPEAKER_11: I forgot about that.
- 43:06SPEAKER_04: And there's a lot of people that actually don't like that.
- 43:08SPEAKER_04: I don't even think Kenny Loggins likes that term.
- 43:10SPEAKER_11: No, I don't I don't think anybody really does.
- 43:11SPEAKER_11: To be honest with me.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: Uh Boss Gags?
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 43:14SPEAKER_04: Boss Gags, and of course, Michael McDonald.
- 43:17SPEAKER_04: That is their big free.
- 43:18SPEAKER_11: I don't know why Michael McDonald's at the bottom of this list.
- 43:21SPEAKER_11: I don't know that it is uh I don't think it's numerical, but I'm just saying he should have been like, you know, as soon as you open up the thing, bang, Michael McDonald.
- 43:29SPEAKER_04: Uh let me read Michael McDonald's.
- 43:30SPEAKER_04: Michael McDonald is the through line for this entire genre.
- 43:34SPEAKER_04: His early era work with Steely Dan was foundational.
- 43:37SPEAKER_04: He then steered the Doobie Brothers into Yacht Rock, releasing perhaps its defining song with What a Fool Believes, written with Kenny Loggins.
- 43:46SPEAKER_04: Uh McDonald co-wrote co-wrote that with Kenny Loggins before collaborating on This Is It.
- 43:51SPEAKER_04: Michael McDonald also member memorably toured with Skaggs and Fagan.
- 43:55SPEAKER_04: He'll also be the captain of this ship.
- 43:57SPEAKER_04: Uh, what he said.
- 43:58SPEAKER_04: At this point, it's a John McDonald's.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: Of its own.
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: You're either a yacht or you're not, but hey, I am flattered that anyone is still talking about me at all at my age.
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: That's a good attitude.
- 44:09SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 44:09SPEAKER_04: And there he is wearing a bad company t-shirt.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: So Michael McDonald, Boss Skags, uh, Kenny Loggins, we picked those.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: We didn't we picked Christopher Cross.
- 44:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I got surprised Christopher Cross is not on here, but yeah.
- 44:21SPEAKER_11: You know, whatever.
- 44:23SPEAKER_04: Whatever.
- 44:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 44:25SPEAKER_04: So there you go.
- 44:26SPEAKER_04: The biggest thing.
- 44:26SPEAKER_11: I did I did a long time ago, uh when I was still new to Twitter, or whatever they call it, X, I actually tweeted to Sirius XM that they should call the Yacht Rock channel six degrees of separation of Michael McDonald.
- 44:43SPEAKER_11: Well, it's true.
- 44:44SPEAKER_11: Because every time I turned it on, Michael McDonald.
- 44:47SPEAKER_11: Michael McDonald.
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: It's either Michael McDonald's singing lead or he's background or he's he's playing the you know something.
- 44:53SPEAKER_11: Piano, organ, whatever.
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: Or he'll write the song.
- 44:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 44:56SPEAKER_04: I mean it's something.
- 44:56SPEAKER_11: Yeah, he's always there.
- 44:57SPEAKER_04: Yep, for sure.
- 44:58SPEAKER_04: Uh all right.
- 44:59SPEAKER_04: So there's this there's some rock headlines from ultimate classicrock.com.
- 45:03SPEAKER_04: Yay! Yay! Uh, and I think, uh, Doug, I think YouTube is working today, so that's always nice.
- 45:09SPEAKER_11: Well, isn't that a treat?
- 45:12SPEAKER_11: It is a treat.
- 45:13SPEAKER_11: Let me uh considering how being a butt it's been.
- 45:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't know what was up with that.
- 45:19SPEAKER_03: Just being stupid.
- 45:21SPEAKER_03: Are you ready for this?
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: I'm ready for this.
- 45:23SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 45:23SPEAKER_03: I'm always ready.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah!
- 45:32SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 45:34SPEAKER_04: So do we have um misjudgedness?
- 45:38SPEAKER_04: No, because there was no question about it.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 45:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: So we're starting fresh.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: So we're so there's no past.
- 45:45SPEAKER_11: There's no past.
- 45:46SPEAKER_11: Just present this week.
- 45:47SPEAKER_04: Just present.
- 45:48SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 45:48SPEAKER_11: And then well, do we do future because we're taking next week off?
- 45:51SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, we probably shouldn't.
- 45:53SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 45:53SPEAKER_04: So we'll just it's just present.
- 45:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 45:55SPEAKER_04: So just present.
- 45:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:57SPEAKER_04: Uh we should probably say that, by the way.
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: We're uh taking next week off.
- 46:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: Next week is Halloween.
- 46:04SPEAKER_04: Thanksgiving.
- 46:06SPEAKER_04: We already had Halloween.
- 46:07SPEAKER_04: Next week is Thanksgiving.
- 46:09SPEAKER_04: Why would we take Halloween off?
- 46:10SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 46:11SPEAKER_04: It's Thanksween.
- 46:12SPEAKER_04: It's Thanksween.
- 46:13SPEAKER_04: Um, so yeah, we'll be with our families and uh watching football.
- 46:18SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 46:20SPEAKER_11: Okay, so the questi do you wanna hold on, let me see if I got the question still.
- 46:28SPEAKER_11: I have it right here.
- 46:29SPEAKER_11: Okay, yeah, go ahead.
- 46:30SPEAKER_11: Oh, I got it right here.
- 46:31SPEAKER_11: Uh first kiss on a bridge with the biggest crush from your youth.
- 46:35SPEAKER_11: Okay, so I assume that's what song is playing.
- 46:38SPEAKER_11: So, uh, Cousin of Larry.
- 46:43SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 46:49SPEAKER_11: Mixtape.
- 46:50SPEAKER_11: Well, there's lots of songs about a kiss.
- 46:52SPEAKER_11: Kiss me by sixpence none the richer.
- 46:54SPEAKER_11: Great song.
- 46:55SPEAKER_11: Uh Kiss by Prince were a couple that came to mind right away.
- 46:59SPEAKER_11: And Dawkins Kiss of Death also.
- 47:01SPEAKER_11: I'm not sure you'd want to.
- 47:02SPEAKER_03: No.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: Probably not.
- 47:04SPEAKER_11: That was a whole other thing.
- 47:05SPEAKER_11: Uh sad to say, I do not remember my first kiss, but this scenario makes me think of the Brady Bunch episode where Bobby gets.
- 47:14SPEAKER_11: I think he meant his, but he said her.
- 47:16SPEAKER_11: Uh Bobby gets his first kiss from Millicent and sees skyrockets in flight.
- 47:23SPEAKER_11: However, Afternoon Delight isn't exactly an appropriate subject for a use first kissed.
- 47:27SPEAKER_11: Don't listen to the song Pancher Children.
- 47:31SPEAKER_11: So I will pick of the song I associate with fireworks.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: I will go with Ride of the Valkyries.
- 47:40SPEAKER_11: With honorable mention to Thunderstruck by ACDC because, well, I love ACDC.
- 47:45SPEAKER_13: He's really going with Ride of the Valkyrie?
- 47:48SPEAKER_11: He is.
- 47:48SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 47:49SPEAKER_13: Hold on, let me let me turn this down here.
- 48:22SPEAKER_04: This is by Richard Wagner.
- 48:40SPEAKER_05: Well, he was German.
- 48:40SPEAKER_05: He's German, so it wouldn't be Richard, it would be Richard.
- 48:44SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 48:45SPEAKER_11: Wagner.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: Wagner.
- 48:48SPEAKER_11: How about you?
- 48:49SPEAKER_11: I only equate this song with Apocalypse Now.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:53SPEAKER_11: So.
- 48:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, I mean, when I typed it in, that's probably what came up, man.
- 48:57SPEAKER_04: It's one of the first things that came up, yeah.
- 48:59SPEAKER_04: Alright, what's yours?
- 49:00SPEAKER_11: I went with Thompson Twins.
- 49:02SPEAKER_11: Uh, if you were uh what's the name of the song?
- 49:06SPEAKER_11: If you were here, I think is the name of the song.
- 49:09SPEAKER_05: If you were here?
- 49:10SPEAKER_11: I think.
- 49:11SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 49:12SPEAKER_04: Is it is that what it's called?
- 49:14SPEAKER_04: There's one here that's called If You Were Here.
- 49:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think that's the one.
- 49:16SPEAKER_04: Oh, is it from Sixteen Candles?
- 49:18SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 49:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 49:19SPEAKER_04: I don't remember this one.
- 49:21SPEAKER_04: Oh, you'll you'll remember it.
- 49:29SPEAKER_04: Now do you want to go into detail?
- 49:31SPEAKER_04: No.
- 49:32SPEAKER_11: Just like this song.
- 49:32SPEAKER_11: I just think this.
- 49:34SPEAKER_04: You didn't have your first kiss on a bridge.
- 49:38SPEAKER_11: What?
- 49:39SPEAKER_04: Did you have your first kiss on a bridge to this to this song?
- 49:42SPEAKER_11: No.
- 49:43SPEAKER_11: I just like the song.
- 49:44SPEAKER_11: It seems like a first kiss kind of song.
- 49:45SPEAKER_11: I don't think I've ever heard this song.
- 49:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was in 16 Candles.
- 49:49SPEAKER_11: When she's sitting on the table with what's his face and the birthday cake between them.
- 49:54SPEAKER_11: At the end of the movie.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, I know that scene.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: I just can't remember the song.
- 50:11SPEAKER_09: Maybe I'll love the chorus.
- 50:29SPEAKER_04: I mean, it sounds familiar.
- 50:32SPEAKER_04: Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the music in that movie.
- 50:35SPEAKER_04: I don't know how I couldn't.
- 50:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he was pretty dreamy.
- 50:43SPEAKER_04: You know that was like he did maybe He did maybe one or two more movies.
- 50:49SPEAKER_11: I don't I've never seen him in any other movie.
- 50:51SPEAKER_11: He's got out.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: He just stopped acting.
- 50:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, why not?
- 50:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 50:54SPEAKER_11: I think he did 16 candles.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: Why would you do any other movie?
- 50:57SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 50:57SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 50:58SPEAKER_04: I think he did a few other ones and then I think he became a contractor.
- 51:02SPEAKER_11: The fact that John Cusack is in that movie as a minor character.
- 51:05SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 51:06SPEAKER_11: And then he went on to do whatever, you know, is kind of funny, but so this is Thompson Twins.
- 51:13SPEAKER_04: If you were here.
- 51:15SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 51:16SPEAKER_04: And this is mine.
- 51:18SPEAKER_11: Nope, that's not mine.
- 51:19SPEAKER_11: That's a commercial.
- 51:21SPEAKER_11: Uh with popcorn and football.
- 51:24SPEAKER_11: Oh, Sheriff, yeah, this is a good song.
- 51:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 51:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 51:31SPEAKER_04: I think this might have been a first kiss song for me.
- 51:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah, keep it to yourself, pervert.
- 51:38SPEAKER_11: Did we talk about this song?
- 51:46SPEAKER_03: Jerk.
- 51:47SPEAKER_03: Did we ever did we talk about this song?
- 51:50SPEAKER_03: Recently?
- 51:51SPEAKER_03: Not recently.
- 51:52SPEAKER_03: No?
- 51:52SPEAKER_03: I don't believe it.
- 51:53SPEAKER_03: Okay, so this is an interesting story.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: So Sheriff.
- 51:59SPEAKER_04: And I have this album.
- 52:00SPEAKER_04: Their debut album.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: They only had one album.
- 52:03SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 52:04SPEAKER_04: And uh I'm gonna I'm gonna tie some things together here in a second, just because I I can.
- 52:11SPEAKER_04: So they recorded this album and they released it.
- 52:17SPEAKER_04: And it's a Canadian band.
- 52:19SPEAKER_04: And they did not release this.
- 52:23SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, they did release this song, but it was like a b-side almost.
- 52:28SPEAKER_04: And they released a different song.
- 52:30SPEAKER_04: And then they broke up.
- 52:33SPEAKER_04: And all went separate ways and started doing other things with other bands.
- 52:38SPEAKER_04: And then some DJ flipped the record over.
- 52:43SPEAKER_04: If I think I have the story right, and started playing this song on like his uh request show or something, and it blew up.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: And before you know it, people ra radio stations were adding it all over the country.
- 52:59SPEAKER_04: And they had a huge hit with it.
- 53:03SPEAKER_04: And so the record company called them and said, Hey, you have a hit.
- 53:07SPEAKER_04: Put the band back together.
- 53:08SPEAKER_11: You're getting the band together.
- 53:10SPEAKER_04: And so they re-released this song.
- 53:13SPEAKER_04: And that's how it came out like in the early 80s.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: And then it came out again in like 87-88.
- 53:20SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 53:20SPEAKER_04: Because it had grow had grown in popularity.
- 53:23SPEAKER_04: So they re-released it.
- 53:24SPEAKER_11: I never knew about the first version, so I only knew this.
- 53:27SPEAKER_04: Well, this version.
- 53:29SPEAKER_04: This one also has that uh that last note.
- 53:32SPEAKER_11: Oh, that really?
- 53:34unknown: Yeah.
- 53:35SPEAKER_11: Are you sure we didn't talk about this?
- 53:36SPEAKER_11: We talked about it, but I don't remember what the context was.
- 53:40SPEAKER_11: Maybe it was a love song thing.
- 53:42SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 53:43SPEAKER_04: Maybe.
- 53:43SPEAKER_04: Did you know that this was the same guy?
- 53:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's why we were talking about it, because we were talking about this song too.
- 53:55SPEAKER_04: Uh um More Than Words Can Say?
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: By Alias.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: Same guy.
- 53:59SPEAKER_11: Same guy, yeah.
- 54:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we were talking about one of one of the other.
- 54:04SPEAKER_11: I thought so.
- 54:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we went down that rabbit hole, yeah.
- 54:07SPEAKER_04: I remember this song.
- 54:09SPEAKER_04: So I was dating a girl in high school and I was on the radio.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: I was I was also in high school.
- 54:16SPEAKER_04: Let me just put that.
- 54:19SPEAKER_13: Let me go back and say Doug just took a drink and he almost spit it out.
- 54:26SPEAKER_13: Sorry.
- 54:30SPEAKER_11: I was 43 at the time.
- 54:36SPEAKER_11: No.
- 54:41SPEAKER_13: No, no, no.
- 54:43SPEAKER_13: When I I've said it before.
- 54:44SPEAKER_13: I started in radio at 15.
- 54:46SPEAKER_11: The older I get, the older All right, all right, all right, all right.
- 54:53SPEAKER_13: I started in radio at 15.
- 54:55SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 54:56SPEAKER_04: And and I had my own radio show on the on a top 40 radio station, actually, um when I was 16, 16 or 17.
- 55:07SPEAKER_04: And um, I used to have a Sunday morning shift.
- 55:11SPEAKER_04: And this is back when people actually talked on the phone.
- 55:14SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 55:15SPEAKER_04: And I was dating a girl, and uh uh we would like five o'clock in the morning.
- 55:20SPEAKER_04: She'd she'd be laying in bed and she's talking to me on the phone.
- 55:23SPEAKER_04: And I'd oh, I was both here.
- 55:25SPEAKER_04: I am at 6 o'clock in the morning.
- 55:29SPEAKER_04: Play it for her, you know, every Sunday morning.
- 55:32SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 55:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:33SPEAKER_04: Anyway, uh, hope my wife's not listening.
- 55:36SPEAKER_11: I'm just glad you were both in high school at the time.
- 55:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we were.
- 55:40SPEAKER_11: I was a DJ, my girlfriend was in high school.
- 55:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 55:47SPEAKER_11: Woo! My twenties were awesome.
- 55:53SPEAKER_04: Uh all right, so Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner was uh Cousin Larry's.
- 56:00SPEAKER_04: Yours was I Were Here, if you were here If You Were Here by Thompson Twins from the 16 Candle soundtrack.
- 56:08SPEAKER_04: And mine was Sheriff uh When I'm With You.
- 56:12SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 56:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:13SPEAKER_04: So there you go.
- 56:14SPEAKER_11: So should we do a future question or no?
- 56:17SPEAKER_11: Uh we'll have one ready for when we come back.
- 56:20SPEAKER_11: What do you think?
- 56:21SPEAKER_11: Let's do one.
- 56:22SPEAKER_11: All right.
- 56:23SPEAKER_11: Well, it'll give us like two weeks to know that.
- 56:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, well, you know, we're not gonna remember until like that day.
- 56:29SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 56:29SPEAKER_11: True.
- 56:30SPEAKER_11: That's just how we roll around here.
- 56:33SPEAKER_11: Alright, so let's see what we later.
- 56:37SPEAKER_11: No, we already did that one.
- 56:40SPEAKER_11: Might have to get a new game.
- 56:51SPEAKER_11: Okay, this is an interesting one.
- 56:56SPEAKER_11: This is a long one, so.
- 56:58SPEAKER_11: The last terrorist crumples to the floor after a solid roundhouse kick to the face.
- 57:04SPEAKER_11: The flight attendant screams that the pilot just passed out.
- 57:08SPEAKER_11: Time to land the plane.
- 57:09SPEAKER_11: What song plays as you wrestle this metal bird down from 25,000 feet to safety?
- 57:15SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 57:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah, this is this is pretty epic.
- 57:18SPEAKER_11: Wow.
- 57:19SPEAKER_11: Good thing we got two weeks to think about it.
- 57:22SPEAKER_11: We'll send it, cousin Larry.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: And by that I mean probably two minutes.
- 57:26SPEAKER_11: Two minutes, yeah.
- 57:26SPEAKER_11: To think about it.
- 57:27SPEAKER_11: When once we get down here to record.
- 57:29SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 57:30SPEAKER_04: Uh all right.
- 57:31SPEAKER_04: So we're gonna take a break.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: We'll come back.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: Are you gonna read or no?
- 57:36SPEAKER_04: Uh we're just gonna climb the wall.
- 57:41SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 57:42SPEAKER_11: I'll read should read something different.
- 57:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:45SPEAKER_04: I mean we've we've read all the things.
- 57:48SPEAKER_11: I think we've done just about everything.
- 57:50SPEAKER_11: I think I think I think we're gonna retire that book.
- 57:53SPEAKER_04: I think it's a good idea.
- 57:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:55SPEAKER_04: So it's a great book though.
- 57:56SPEAKER_04: It's been fun.
- 57:56SPEAKER_04: Uh Hard Days Right by Steve Turner.
- 57:58SPEAKER_04: Uh story of every Beatles song.
- 58:01SPEAKER_04: Um, but yeah, I think I think you're right.
- 58:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think it's uh I think it's time to uh do something different.
- 58:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 58:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we'll we'll think of something, you know, we got time to think of something.
- 58:11SPEAKER_11: We'll come up with something equally as quote unquote interesting.
- 58:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 58:17SPEAKER_11: So air quotes.
- 58:19SPEAKER_03: Air quotes.
- 58:20SPEAKER_03: Uh all right, so we'll come back, we'll climb the wall of tunes.
- 58:24SPEAKER_03: And uh what are you gonna do while I while I climb the wall of tunes?
- 58:28SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna read a story.
- 58:30SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna read something.
- 58:31SPEAKER_11: Storytime from Doug?
- 58:32SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we'll we'll figure something out.

- 1:00:21SPEAKER_04: Go for it.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_11: He lived in a hovel out near the animals, and according to Buttercup's mother, he kept it clean.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_11: He even read when he had candles.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_11: I'll leave the lad an acre in my will, Buttercup's father was fond of saying.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_11: They had acres then.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_11: You'll spoil 'em, Buttercup's mother always answered.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_11: He's slave for many years.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_11: Hard work should be rewarded.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_11: Then, rather than continue the argument, they had argued then too, they would both turn on their daughter.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_11: You didn't bathe, her father said.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_11: I did, I did, said from Buttercup.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_11: Not with water, her father continued.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_11: You reek like a stallion.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_11: I've been riding all day, Buttercup explained.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_11: You must bathe, Buttercup, her mother joined in.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_11: Thank you.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_11: This has been an excerpt from The Princess Bride.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_04: Alright.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_04: I don't know if we've done this artist or not.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_04: But uh let's just give it a shot.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_04: Uh I have an artist.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_04: Let the guessing.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_11: Is it a band?
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_03: Is it a rock band?
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_03: Uh no.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_03: No, not really.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_03: I mean yes, but no.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_03: No, pop pop rock.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_03: Pop rock band, I guess.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_11: It's sheriff.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_11: It's not sheriff.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_11: What what uh height of popularity?
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_12: Uh eighties.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_12: Okay.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_03: Are they still around?
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, I think so.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_03: Uh in one form or another.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_11: Any iconics on the Yes.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_04: I think anyway.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_04: Don't look at this.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_04: Uh, we do one of their songs.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_11: You and I or you and I.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_11: It's the cars?
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_04: It's not.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_11: We already did the cars.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_04: We did the cars, yeah.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_11: Are they cars like?
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_11: N uh no.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_04: Nope.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_04: Not like uh new wave rock type stuff, no.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: More Rocky Rock.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_03: More f uh.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_04: I don't know, man.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_04: I I I guess more uh they're a pop rock band.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_04: Maybe some folk influences, I guess.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_04: Maybe.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_04: But more just from the 80s?
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_11: Um like a full man, like four guys, five guys?
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_04: Pretty sure four.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: Uh if I tell you they're from where they're from, maybe they're not.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: Uh down under.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_11: Is it man at work?
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_04: No.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_04: It's either down under or Oh, it's NXS! New Zealand.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_04: No, it's not NXS.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_04: It's either New Zealand or Australia.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_04: It's not.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_04: Let's see, that would just be straight up rock for me.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_04: Uh they had, let's see.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_11: Is it oh, is it uh uh air supply?
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_04: Nope.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_04: No, they had two really big hits that are iconic from the 80s.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_04: And then I think they had two or three other ones that were not huge hits, but they were they were good songs.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_11: Um I'm blanking on my Aussie rock bands.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_04: Uh let's see.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_04: The lead singer.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_04: Actually, I don't know if they're the if the two brothers are in the band, or if just the lead singer has a a brother that also has a music career.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_04: Um I'm not sure if the brother was in the band too.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_04: I don't know a lot about the band except for the lead singer.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_04: Um Jamie Buffett did one of their songs.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_04: Uh that doesn't help you.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_04: What what else can what kind of clue can I give you?
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_04: Um The Lead Singer's last name is the first name of one of my sons.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_04: You might not even know the lead singer's name, actually.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_04: Um The Lead Singer was in the last incarnation of Leewood Mac when Lindsay Buckingham was fired.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_04: Like the most recent.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_04: Remember a few years ago when they fired Lindsay Buckingham?
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_04: Well, Mike Campbell from Tom Petty's man was one of the took plays, but also another guy.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_04: I said some some lyrics.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_04: I'll I'll I'll give you some lyrics to the song that we don't do.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_11: There is freedom within the freedom within the freedom within the weird.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_11: I don't know the name of the band, but I know.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_04: Um try to catch the deluge in the paper.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_04: Hey now.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I know the song I know the song.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_11: But I don't know who does it.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_11: Hey now.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_11: Hey.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_04: You're gonna kick yourself as soon as I say it.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that's the song.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I don't know who does it.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_11: It's not coming to me.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_04: Crowded house.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_04: Crowded house?
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_04: Crowded house.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, right.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_04: Crowded house.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_04: I did not know that.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_04: So this is the song I'm talking about right here.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_04: That's a commercial.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_04: This is the song we were just singing.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_04: One that's once again, iconic, as far as I'm concerned.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_04: Wouldn't you say this?
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_11: Wouldn't you say this is iconic?
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_08: There is freedom within.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_08: There is freedom without.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_08: Try to catch the tell you to the proposal.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_03: Have we done credit house before?
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_03: I have no idea.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_03: Check it out.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_08: Check in the books.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_04: I almost think we do a well here's see.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_04: So the one that you and I do is this one right here.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_04: Something so strong.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_04: Alright, yeah.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_13: What would you call this?
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_13: Would you call this just straight up pop rock?
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_11: It's pop rock.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_04: It's definitely not new wave or anything.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_04: No.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_04: And when I say it has a hint of folk, I think it's just because there's a lot of acoustic guitar.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we've never done crowded house.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_09: Okay, good.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_04: Alright now, I think we do a piece of another Crowded House song, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_04: So this one wasn't a huge hit.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_04: But uh if I'm not mistaken, we do a piece of this.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_04: Maybe I'm thinking of a different one.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_08: And I feel like I'm moving inside her.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_04: I always thought it was this song.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_04: But I could be wrong.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_08: And I think that I'm beginning to know her.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_08: Let it go.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_08: I'll prevail when you call.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_08: And whenever I fall.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_04: Oh, it is the same.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_04: We do this as part of our midlay at the end of uh Waggle.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_11: No, it isn't, isn't it?
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it is.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_11: No, it isn't.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_11: No, it's uh Jason Maras.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_08: Whenever I phone?
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_08: Yours.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it sounds the same, but I think I think our version is Jason Mares.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_11: I think is it a song called Fall at Your Feet?
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_11: Could be, I have no idea.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_04: Well now I have now I have to look.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_04: Actually, I'm gonna play a couple more songs and then I'm gonna look because I have to know.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_04: Um This is another Crowded House tune that was relatively popular.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_04: This is one Jimmy Buffett did.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_11: Anyway.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_04: This was the album that I picked.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_04: Very best of Crowded House.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_11: Oh, okay.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_12: I love this band.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_04: But this is one of my favorite ones from uh Crowded House, which doesn't get the credit that uh uh it deserves.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_04: I love this song.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_04: Better be home soon.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_08: Somewhere deep in sight.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_08: So Finn's gotta hold on you.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_04: Anyway, the lead singer's name is Neil Finn.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_08: And his brother is Tim Finn who has his own music career, but I don't know if they're I should look that up.
- 1:12:08SPEAKER_08: And I'm no arm right for the first time in my life.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_08: That's why I'll tell you.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_05: Oh wow.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_08: You better be home soon.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_04: Okay, so past members do include Tim Finn, which is his brother, current members, Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mitch Froome, who's a big time producer, Liam Finn, and Elroy Finn.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_04: I wonder if they are his must be his son.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_04: Kids uh let's see the first time in my life.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_04: Just curious.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_08: That's why I'll tell you.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_04: Reformation, baby home soon.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_08: Don't say no, don't say nothing's wrong.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_04: When you get back, I'm reading I'll be gone.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_04: Alright, so in 2019, Neil Finn announced that the new crowded house lineup would consist of himself, Seymour, the band's original producer, Mitch Froom, and his sons, Liam and Elroy.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_04: So yeah, here we go.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_04: That's pretty cool.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I never knew that.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_04: Um so now I just have to uh find out if cause me pain if you were to hand it.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_04: At your feet?
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_04: I'm just gonna put this in there and see.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_04: Where's it fall on your knees?
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_04: You can't be where your feet are.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_04: I don't think that's it.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_04: Crowded house, fall at your feet.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_04: Uh look I'll look that up after because I I kinda want to hear where that came from, because I always thought it was Crowded House, but I could I I could be wrong completely.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I could be anything.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_04: But um great album, the best of Crowded House, and I would love to see them live.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_04: I know n of course there's no Fleetwood Mac now, so Neil Finn only was filling in to finish the tour.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_04: I think.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_04: Um and I think Lindsay Buckingham is there's a rumor that he may be coming back.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, who knows?
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_04: But without Christy.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_04: Anything without Christy McVee, I mean So that is episode 268.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_04: That's it.
