- 2:37Speaker 2: for poetic therapy, Poetry that speaks life, statue for more. Hello, Hello,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and welcome, Welcome to the Power Room Show. How are
- 3:28Speaker 2: you all I doing tonight today? I'm just going to
- 3:36Speaker 2: really discuss the day of what took place for me
- 3:42Speaker 2: today because I didn't have anything really prepared because today
- 3:47Speaker 2: I for the first time I volunteered, well, I normally
- 3:52Speaker 2: volunteered with my church, and actually volunteering in the sun
- 4:00Speaker 2: of being part of back to school. I never did
- 4:04Speaker 2: that before. And sometimes when you are called to be
- 4:11Speaker 2: a part of something, you know, you give it a try.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You want to feel the experience. You want to do
- 4:21Speaker 2: something different and believe in me. It was different today.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It was different today. I had my poem. Everything said
- 4:30Speaker 2: was to you know, do for today. I didn't have
- 4:33Speaker 2: any guests. There's one or two guests that I still
- 4:35Speaker 2: need to bring on. But there's so much happening right
- 4:39Speaker 2: now with me. But I'll be more focused because I
- 4:46Speaker 2: know I'm not where I'm supposed to be and a
- 4:55Speaker 2: lot of people expect a lot from you. But sometimes
- 4:59Speaker 2: when you you have your trials and your stuff that
- 5:04Speaker 2: you face, you just had to keep pushing despite of
- 5:07Speaker 2: what you just had to keep pushing and keep standing strong.
- 5:14Speaker 2: So being a part of the back to School today
- 5:17Speaker 2: gave me that zeal to don't give up. And sometimes
- 5:25Speaker 2: we feel like we want to give up, we want
- 5:28Speaker 2: to call it quit, right, don't quit, just do it.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Do what you got to keep pushing yourself to be
- 5:41Speaker 2: the better side of you. The bigger part of you,
- 5:44Speaker 2: because there is so much more insight of you that
- 5:47Speaker 2: needs the world needs to see that people need to see. Right.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So me doing the back to school, even though my
- 5:54Speaker 2: back ache, my legs hurt, it was a joy. I stood,
- 5:58Speaker 2: I braid braided here and I think it's about six
- 6:04Speaker 2: six heads I did, And I was like, wow, I
- 6:08Speaker 2: didn't know. I gotta do all of that. You know.
- 6:12Speaker 2: So sometime when you call to get something done, it's
- 6:15Speaker 2: not a matter of wondering, can I do this? Can
- 6:22Speaker 2: I do that? Oh? I have so much it's serious,
- 6:25Speaker 2: going on, so much. No, you just kind of push
- 6:28Speaker 2: yourself to that place of get into because sometimes when
- 6:35Speaker 2: you tend to study this, you study the problem, that's all.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Like I said, I normally do my life. And I
- 6:44Speaker 2: would say, once you feel a certain way, you don't
- 6:49Speaker 2: live there. You don't dress it up, you don't give
- 6:53Speaker 2: it are you don't you know, make it feel good.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You just keep moving, keep moving, keep doing what you
- 7:06Speaker 2: need to do to grow, to reach forward to you know,
- 7:13Speaker 2: to be the better part of yourself. Right. And I
- 7:17Speaker 2: did that today. I did that today because I really
- 7:21Speaker 2: wanted to get something done. Just do something different from
- 7:27Speaker 2: the normal child's, normal walks of life, normal things that
- 7:31Speaker 2: you're accustomed doing. I say, okay, let me do something
- 7:33Speaker 2: different today. Let me be a part of this back
- 7:36Speaker 2: to school. Let me go and volunteer my time. Let
- 7:38Speaker 2: me You know, it was good even though I'm in
- 7:41Speaker 2: they can pay in my back and legs, so what
- 7:44Speaker 2: you know, it was good because doing the kids here
- 7:47Speaker 2: doing chierny I seeing them get their backpacks and their
- 7:51Speaker 2: stuff in their backpacks, all the goodies that they normally
- 7:55Speaker 2: carry the school. It was a joy. So it was
- 7:58Speaker 2: nice to see the children get in their backpacks, get
- 8:01Speaker 2: in their stuff, get in their things for school, and
- 8:06Speaker 2: the parents all excited, you know, to it come like
- 8:12Speaker 2: it was like a breeder for them, so they don't
- 8:15Speaker 2: have to see themselves hustling to get backpacks, hustling to
- 8:18Speaker 2: get things for school. Everything was already in that bag, right,
- 8:24Speaker 2: Everything was already in that bag for them. And it
- 8:33Speaker 2: comes like we, you know, we of ourselves in the
- 8:36Speaker 2: sense of what can we find within ourselves that can
- 8:42Speaker 2: be of silver starters? What can we dig deep inside
- 8:47Speaker 2: to pull out? What can we you know? Fine, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 2: because sometimes we might know our strengths, we might know
- 8:55Speaker 2: our capabilities, we might know, what can we do? You know?
- 9:01Speaker 2: Just like how the kids dig in their backpack and
- 9:04Speaker 2: they see all the copy books and the pencils and
- 9:07Speaker 2: the pens and all these different things, right they see
- 9:11Speaker 2: all those goodie stuff. How can we see ourselves, like,
- 9:16Speaker 2: look inside ourselves and pull out that gift, pull out
- 9:19Speaker 2: that excitement, pull out that what we need to push forward,
- 9:23Speaker 2: what we you know, what we need to grow, what
- 9:26Speaker 2: we need to move forward, what we need to use,
- 9:30Speaker 2: you know. So we come in just like the children
- 9:32Speaker 2: we are just you know, the way all they're excited
- 9:35Speaker 2: with their books and their stuff in their bag, Just
- 9:39Speaker 2: like we can look on ourselves and see that, hey,
- 9:44Speaker 2: there is so much more for us, so much more
- 9:47Speaker 2: within us, so much more inside of us that we
- 9:50Speaker 2: never thought that we could do. I never thought I
- 9:53Speaker 2: could stand up. Now I see what he addresses go through.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And they have to stand up on their feet to
- 9:58Speaker 2: do people's here, you understand, because as ours and under
- 10:04Speaker 2: my foot is pain, in my heel is everything is paining.
- 10:07Speaker 2: So I'm now seeing what they have to go through
- 10:12Speaker 2: to endure that stamina, stamina of standing up all at
- 10:17Speaker 2: length of time to do here, to breed to weave to,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you know, color, whatever it is that person needs. So
- 10:25Speaker 2: I had to pull that inside of me. I didn't
- 10:27Speaker 2: know I could do it, but here I did it,
- 10:30Speaker 2: you know. So it's being our service, being finding something
- 10:33Speaker 2: that I never thought I could have done, and I
- 10:35Speaker 2: did it and it was good despite of what, you know.
- 10:39Speaker 2: So next year, maybe I'll look for something else to do.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Maybe I'll do registering, maybe I'll be in the food
- 10:46Speaker 2: court giving out food, have dogs, whatever it is. So
- 10:50Speaker 2: you're always have that gift inside you, something that you
- 10:58Speaker 2: can pull out from inside of and say, wow, look
- 11:01Speaker 2: how I did this, Look how I did that. You know,
- 11:04Speaker 2: there is always something that you find inside of you,
- 11:08Speaker 2: something that will be a blessing to someone you know,
- 11:12Speaker 2: And it could be anything. It could be anything that
- 11:15Speaker 2: you think or you put your mind to that you
- 11:17Speaker 2: think that you can do right. And even now I
- 11:22Speaker 2: have one night jersey. You know, I may not see
- 11:24Speaker 2: the whole jersey, but I just not too long came
- 11:27Speaker 2: in from doing that. So it was good. It was
- 11:31Speaker 2: a joy seeing the children faces, seeing how they their
- 11:35Speaker 2: faces were lit up when they got the fancy hair style,
- 11:39Speaker 2: when they got their book bags, when they got the
- 11:42Speaker 2: jump on the bouncy castle when they get their food,
- 11:45Speaker 2: they you know, there was a lot of fun for
- 11:49Speaker 2: these kids, and sometimes we as a dibater, we could
- 11:53Speaker 2: find that same fun within us. We can find that
- 11:56Speaker 2: same fun inside of us. We can do what it
- 12:01Speaker 2: takes to you know, be a blessing to someone. And
- 12:06Speaker 2: it don't always have to be like finance. It don't
- 12:09Speaker 2: always have to be you know, money or anything like that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It could be anything that you choose to bless someone with,
- 12:18Speaker 2: maybe a gift, maybe a poet, maybe a book, maybe
- 12:22Speaker 2: a good word, you know. So sometimes we could just
- 12:26Speaker 2: find what it is that we have inside of us.
- 12:30Speaker 2: What is our gift, what is our talent? What is
- 12:32Speaker 2: our joy? That we could dig deep and pull out,
- 12:37Speaker 2: you know, that we could see inside ourselves and say, wow,
- 12:40Speaker 2: I didn't know I could do this. Wow, Maybe I
- 12:43Speaker 2: could do this to be a blessing to someone. Maybe
- 12:45Speaker 2: I could do this to be a blessing you know,
- 12:47Speaker 2: to this child, to this family, something you know, And
- 12:52Speaker 2: like I said, it don't have to be money. It
- 12:54Speaker 2: could just be anything, given clothes, given books, given toys,
- 12:58Speaker 2: given something you know, and you find that joy within
- 13:02Speaker 2: yourself doing good, you know, being a blessing. Right, you
- 13:09Speaker 2: find that joy inside of you when you do these
- 13:11Speaker 2: things right. So we, like I said, we come like
- 13:15Speaker 2: the children. We are excited, We are happy, you know,
- 13:19Speaker 2: happy to be the fine that give fine, that joy, fine,
- 13:27Speaker 2: whatever it is inside of us to give to someone. Right,
- 13:32Speaker 2: it might be a word, a prayer, to pray for someone,
- 13:37Speaker 2: you understand. We always have to find that positive line,
- 13:40Speaker 2: that positive energy, no matter what, no matter what we
- 13:44Speaker 2: are going through, we know that God still is in
- 13:47Speaker 2: the midst We know that God still holds our hand.
- 13:50Speaker 2: We know that God still is there for us. Right.
- 13:54Speaker 2: He lifts us up, he wakes us up, he keeps
- 13:56Speaker 2: us going, So he is always there. Right. Oh, we
- 14:02Speaker 2: know that He has the problem already in his hands.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So we just have to trust him and believe, just
- 14:08Speaker 2: trust the process and keep going about our day. It's
- 14:12Speaker 2: always easy said and done. Like has always say my life,
- 14:14Speaker 2: It's always easy sadden done, you understand. And it takes
- 14:21Speaker 2: a lot of courage, It takes a lot of strength.
- 14:23Speaker 2: It takes a lot of will power to believe and
- 14:28Speaker 2: keep achieving and keep pushing and keep reaching and keep
- 14:31Speaker 2: stretching and keep having that faith. And you know, despite
- 14:37Speaker 2: of what we go through, the spite of how we feel,
- 14:41Speaker 2: we still could be a light to someone darkness. We
- 14:46Speaker 2: can still show them love care, We can still give
- 14:50Speaker 2: them a word of encouragement. We can still you know,
- 14:56Speaker 2: help them in some way. And it may not take
- 15:01Speaker 2: anything big to do, you understand, just being a part
- 15:08Speaker 2: of this event today. You know, I'll do it again, right,
- 15:13Speaker 2: I'll do it again. I don't know if I'll do
- 15:16Speaker 2: the heir. I'm standing up all like hours. You know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: maybe I'll do nails, or maybe I can do you know,
- 15:25Speaker 2: registration or something. You know, But I guess once you
- 15:30Speaker 2: get yourself accustomed, get yourself, you know, finding that gift
- 15:39Speaker 2: inside of your finding that join inside of your finding
- 15:43Speaker 2: that new talent, something that you have inside of you
- 15:46Speaker 2: that you didn't think that you have before. You know,
- 15:49Speaker 2: just finding that and just sharing it without us is
- 15:51Speaker 2: a good thing. It's a good thing because you're not
- 15:58Speaker 2: only being a blessing to them, but for yourself to right,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you're being a blessing for yourself. And it gives you
- 16:10Speaker 2: that growth, that energy, that zeal that you know to
- 16:14Speaker 2: do more, to do more for yourself or for someone. Right.
- 16:25Speaker 2: But sometimes we get burden down. It happens to the
- 16:28Speaker 2: best of us. It happens to me. You know, sometimes
- 16:31Speaker 2: we get burden down with our situations and problems that
- 16:34Speaker 2: we don't want to push any foother because we are
- 16:38Speaker 2: so stuck in the problem, so stuck in the situation,
- 16:42Speaker 2: so stuck. I can say, no, I don't want to
- 16:44Speaker 2: do anything. I'm not feeling good. I just want to
- 16:48Speaker 2: lay here and sleep all day and you know, be depressed.
- 16:54Speaker 2: It's easy for us to reach that point, right, But
- 16:59Speaker 2: once you have that goal and that zeal and that
- 17:03Speaker 2: vision for yourself to push and persevere and move forward,
- 17:07Speaker 2: you keep you do. You reach out. You reach out,
- 17:14Speaker 2: all right, You reach out no matter what it is.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You just try and reach out because if you continue
- 17:24Speaker 2: doing or feeling sad, feeling good, and feelings, stressed, feelings,
- 17:28Speaker 2: all these feelings coming in you, you will just sort
- 17:35Speaker 2: of entertain it, entertain it in the sense of feeding it,
- 17:45Speaker 2: dressing it up, living in it. You know, you would
- 17:52Speaker 2: look at it as not you wouldn't see yourself trying
- 17:55Speaker 2: to get out of it. You'll just be stuck. So
- 17:59Speaker 2: you had to try and unstuck yourself. You got to
- 18:01Speaker 2: be unstuck, you know, you have to be moving positive,
- 18:09Speaker 2: trying to pull yourself out, try to pull yourself out
- 18:15Speaker 2: of this situation, of this problem, of this stuck position. Right. So,
- 18:23Speaker 2: like I said, the same way that kids, I know,
- 18:30Speaker 2: kids love surprises, the gift. They love things that brighten
- 18:34Speaker 2: their eyes and make them smile. And you know, just
- 18:38Speaker 2: as how they were today just happy and they see
- 18:41Speaker 2: the stuff in their school bad. We can see the
- 18:44Speaker 2: beauty inside of us. We can see the joy inside
- 18:47Speaker 2: of us. We can see the gifts inside of us,
- 18:49Speaker 2: just as God to show you, God show you, don't
- 18:54Speaker 2: give the talent whatever it is that you could pull
- 18:58Speaker 2: from inside that could be a blessing to others. Will
- 19:01Speaker 2: be good, will be good. I'm I'm gonna say it's
- 19:08Speaker 2: it's gonna happen right away for you to get out
- 19:10Speaker 2: of the situation, for you to feel unstuck. And it
- 19:15Speaker 2: takes time, baby steps. It will always have a reason
- 19:25Speaker 2: to persevere. I'm seeing something written there, but and go
- 19:34Speaker 2: real close. Are so small and not really seeing It's sorry,
- 19:41Speaker 2: I cansider what is written. The woodings are very small. Yeah. Yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 2: It's all part of self worth, self growth, It's all
- 20:04Speaker 2: part of doing things for the better part. Of yourself.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It's all part of growing understanding yourself because it have
- 20:15Speaker 2: so many things people didn't think that they could do,
- 20:17Speaker 2: you know, and you learn right and you try to
- 20:21Speaker 2: be different. You try to do something different, You try
- 20:24Speaker 2: to be you know, doing things that kind uplift you,
- 20:33Speaker 2: keep you or be more positive, keep you going. You know,
- 20:40Speaker 2: it's never easy with this life that we live in.
- 20:45Speaker 2: And I'm not going to say it's going to be easy.
- 20:47Speaker 2: It's not going to be easy. It's going to be tough.
- 20:50Speaker 2: But you just take it one step at a time.
- 20:53Speaker 2: It does continue to grow and be the better part
- 20:55Speaker 2: of yourself. It does continue finding that gift search inside,
- 21:01Speaker 2: you know, search yourself, search yourself and find what are
- 21:05Speaker 2: the best quality is of myself? What can I do?
- 21:08Speaker 2: What can I you know, be a blessing to whoever?
- 21:15Speaker 2: It could be the church, the school, your family, teachers, whoever.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Just being a blessing and just finding that joy inside
- 21:27Speaker 2: of you. Pull out, pull it out, whatever it is,
- 21:31Speaker 2: whatever you think it may be. Because you know, the
- 21:36Speaker 2: city churns smiling faces. They was great and despite of
- 21:47Speaker 2: our tie, I may be my legs, my back, everything paining.
- 21:53Speaker 2: It was good. Good to see them smile. Good to
- 21:56Speaker 2: see them happy, good to see them lave have fun.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And you think that hey, when you see the amount
- 22:11Speaker 2: of children, when you see it brings that joy. It
- 22:17Speaker 2: brought a joy from me because there was so many
- 22:20Speaker 2: families in need, you know, so many families in need,
- 22:25Speaker 2: and I'm like, it's really touching to see they get
- 22:35Speaker 2: these school bags, to see the smile on their faces,
- 22:38Speaker 2: to see them get stuff to eat, to see them
- 22:42Speaker 2: you know, it was really really a blessing. There's so
- 22:48Speaker 2: many families in need, so many families going through so
- 22:53Speaker 2: many hardships. So just doing this back to school, the
- 22:58Speaker 2: backpacks and off it is like a godsend for a
- 23:02Speaker 2: lot of them, a lot of them because some of
- 23:06Speaker 2: them may not have money to buy school supplies. You know,
- 23:13Speaker 2: every semester is a challenge for parents. It's a challenge
- 23:18Speaker 2: to get books, it's a challenge to get food on
- 23:21Speaker 2: the table. It's always a challenge. So today seeing their
- 23:27Speaker 2: smiling faces and seeing their family, seeing that they were
- 23:31Speaker 2: so happy, it was great. It was really great. So
- 23:39Speaker 2: I just I just wanted to share that of what
- 23:43Speaker 2: I did today because I liner really had planned. Normally,
- 23:48Speaker 2: my thing is poetry and normally supposed to read the poetry,
- 23:51Speaker 2: and I will explain what I read. I wanted to.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I guess I think I want to bring on maybe
- 24:02Speaker 2: next month and you know, get that part going. But
- 24:12Speaker 2: as for today, I just thought i'd share that what
- 24:14Speaker 2: I did today with the back to school and to
- 24:18Speaker 2: find you, just search deep inside of you, search deep
- 24:22Speaker 2: inside of you to find that part, find that joy,
- 24:26Speaker 2: find that whatever you could find instead of you, that
- 24:29Speaker 2: could be a blessing to others. Despite of your problems,
- 24:33Speaker 2: despite of your situations, there was always something that you
- 24:37Speaker 2: could bless somebody with. Like I said, don't live in
- 24:43Speaker 2: your problems. Don't stay there stuck, don't dress it up,
- 24:47Speaker 2: don't encourage it, don't you know, welcome it. You know,
- 24:52Speaker 2: just try and move on. Just try and uplift yourself.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Just try and grow, Just try and be uplifted in
- 25:04Speaker 2: everything that you do. Because once you're stuck in that position,
- 25:09Speaker 2: that's it depression. All these things will just step in.
- 25:15Speaker 2: So you do entertain you're trying not to. I'm going
- 25:18Speaker 2: to say it's going to be easy, but none stop
- 25:22Speaker 2: at a time. All right, So this is my this
- 25:27Speaker 2: is my life. Thank you for viewing all those who
- 25:33Speaker 2: are viewed. And like I said, dig deeper in inside
- 25:38Speaker 2: of you and see what beauty or what you can
- 25:41Speaker 2: find that can be a blessing to others. Just remember,
- 25:46Speaker 2: as the Churren saw the little gifts in their bags
- 25:49Speaker 2: or their face light up, Oh I got this, Oh
- 25:51Speaker 2: I got that. Just search inside of you and let
- 25:57Speaker 2: your beauty inside, whatever you have inside, light you up
- 26:03Speaker 2: to to do more and to share with the world
- 26:08Speaker 2: or share whoever come and contact with you, and be
- 26:12Speaker 2: that blessing. All right, So it's bye for now. This
- 26:15Speaker 2: is Lisa Powder from the powder room. All right, be
- 26:19Speaker 2: good to yourself and stay strong and uplifted. Bye for now,
- 26:30Speaker 2: kah mhm
