  Speaker 1: final SmackDown heading into one of the biggest shows of

  Speaker 1: the entire year, my favorite show usually of the year,

  Speaker 1: the Royal Rumble. And they were in riod at their

  Speaker 1: new stadium that will be hosting the Royal Rumble tomorrow.

  Speaker 1: So you got to see what this new stadium that

  Speaker 1: didn't exist a month ago, as Triple H said I

  Speaker 1: think on his social media, it was a strip of

  Speaker 1: dirt and now it's a stadium that apparently can fit

  Speaker 1: over thirty thousand people, and they slaved over it for
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: about a month. You know, my hope is at least

  Speaker 1: for the people, you know, if they even give a

  Speaker 1: shit about any of this, For the people that were

  Speaker 1: working around the clock twenty four hours on this stadium.

  Speaker 1: Hopefully they at least carved out a little section of

  Speaker 1: the stadium where they could sit and watch the show

  Speaker 1: the Royal Rumble match tomorrow and Sammy's Ain't who will

  Speaker 1: not be in the Rumble, but he will be challenging

  Speaker 1: for the WWE Championship. And the vision was on the

  Speaker 1: show as well, because everybody's over in Saudi now, so

  Speaker 1: we had the vision against Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Sammy's

  Speaker 1: That was our big main event. And I don't know

  Speaker 1: about you, but if you were expecting a clean finish

  Speaker 1: to this main event, I don't know why you would

  Speaker 1: have been expecting that. You're going to be very disappointed.

  Speaker 1: neither of them were on the show here. They're saving

  Speaker 1: them for the Rumble tomorrow. They wanted to add some

  Speaker 1: more star power to the show. They could have. I

  Speaker 1: thought they did a decent job of hyping up the

  Speaker 1: men's rumble match. I can't say the same for the women's.

  Speaker 1: You know what they did tonight did nothing for me

  Speaker 1: as far as getting me any more excited for the
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: women's Rumble, and nothing all. And we got one final

  Speaker 1: face off between aj Styles and Gunther before what may
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: have been I mean, as I look at it now,

  Speaker 1: probably AJ's final SmackDown ever is an active wrestler. I
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: think that's what we got here on the show. But
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: I enjoy the interaction between them, and you know, with
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: the added stakes to the match, and there's so many
• 3:23
  Speaker 1: questions now that are swirling around whether or not this

  Speaker 1: truly is going to be it for AJ. It does
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: add an element of drama to the match that it
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: would not otherwise have, which is what I figured we

  Speaker 1: would be getting a WrestleMania. That's why you built the

  Speaker 1: big dramatic match where you know this could be it
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: for AJ. We're just getting it a lot earlier than
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: I expected, but it will It will definitely help, especially
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: when it comes to those near falls. Even though they're
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: building it around the fact that I'm going to make
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: you tap out. I'm going to make you tap like
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: a little bitch. A lot of it is centered around
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: tapping out and submitting, but still you're going to have
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: near falls in this match. If he goes for you know,

  Speaker 1: a styles clash or Gunther hits the power bomb with
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: a high stack, it's going to enhance those near falls.

  Speaker 1: I am looking forward to seeing what those two can

  Speaker 1: do on a big stage like this, because they had

  Speaker 1: a very good match on RAW a few weeks ago,

  Speaker 1: but that was Raw and that was only the first match.

  Speaker 1: This may well end up being the last match we

  Speaker 1: ever see between these two, so I am looking forward

  Speaker 1: to that. But I mean, as far as what else

  Speaker 1: they could have done here on this show, honestly, there

  Speaker 1: was nothing. There was nothing else they could do because

  Speaker 1: they wasted a few weeks of really beginning to amp

  Speaker 1: up the height for what is traditionally one of their

  Speaker 1: biggest events of the year. I've said it before that

  Speaker 1: this is the weakest build up in promotion for a

  Speaker 1: Royal Rumble in literal decades, So there was very little

  Speaker 1: effort put into things until Cody declared two weeks ago

  Speaker 1: and so on short notice like this the final show here,

  Speaker 1: you're twenty four hours away from the Rumble. There was
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: nothing they could do. You're either so on the Rumble
• 5:00
  Speaker 1: or you're not. And realistically, you're either sold on the
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: Rumble because of the concept, or the Rumble is just
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: not one of your favorite events. For some people, it
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: may not be for a lot of people, it is,
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: and even in a bad year, as far as hype
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: for the Royal Rumble. You're still gonna be excited for
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: the Rumble itself because it's the Rumble. You know, there's
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: a lot of equity and a lot of history in this.

  Speaker 1: It's a fun stipulation. You never know the surprises and
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: who's gonna come out when, So I mean, that's what
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: makes the Royal Rumble fun. They don't have to do
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: a whole hell of a lot. But boy did they
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: take that literally this year. And it's too bad because
• 5:36
  Speaker 1: now that we look at the final card. As four
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: match cards go, you understand the rumbles, they're probably gonna
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: be about an hour each, maybe a little less, so
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: they take up a lot of time. But as four
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: match cards go, when you look at it on paper,
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: it's actually a pretty strong card. You know, you've got
• 5:52
  Speaker 1: the Ajing gunther match, You've got a big WWE Championship match,
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: and then you've got all the other big names are
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: basically in the rumbles themselves. So on paper it looks
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: like a good show. But again, they took the path
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: of least resistance and least effort in the lead up
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: here to this show, and there was frankly more drama
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: and interest around the actual build of the Rumble Arena
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: of the stadium itself. That in terms of the build
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: for the event and the matches on the event, because
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: everybody was tracking these photos now for the last few
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: weeks on social media of what the building looked like, like,
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: oh my god, I don't know if they're gonna get
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: it done in time, and so there is there is
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: kind of some humor in that the literal build for
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: the show seemed to have more interest than the show itself.

  Speaker 1: Here in the lead up, there was also a huge

  Speaker 1: production botch here on this show. Someone is going to

  Speaker 1: get in some hot water here or worse because they

  Speaker 1: spoiled a little something in the Men's Royal Rumble Batch,

  Speaker 1: Carmelo Hayes. This show would be a lot worse off

  Speaker 1: he even touched on the possibility that he might win

  Speaker 1: it just never went anywhere. But it was also crazy

  Speaker 1: Now that's pretty crazy, especially considering their history together. They
