  Speaker 6: Ah, that's right.
• 0:38
Speaker 7: This is the show. He is Wayne Dolcefino. My name
• 0:42
Speaker 7: is Craig Collins. We are KSEV Mornings, and we're trying
• 0:45
Speaker 7: something technologically that this station has not really done a
• 0:48
  Speaker 7: lot of before.
• 0:49
Speaker 6: Wayne, how you doing, buddy?
• 0:51
Speaker 2: I'm good, brother. What's going on?
• 0:53
  Speaker 3: Not much.
• 0:53
Speaker 7: Not much is going on right now except for all
• 0:55
Speaker 7: the technical things that we're doing. And we were talking
• 0:57
Speaker 7: off the air as we're getting set up here, and
• 0:59
Speaker 7: we're looking at the background behind me at the fancy
• 1:02
Speaker 7: radio station. and your office, and we both have to
• 1:06
Speaker 7: admit something on the air right away.
• 1:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, you look like you're in a trailer, a trailer
• 1:11
Speaker 2: that you didn't decorate.
• 1:13
Speaker 7: Yeah, and you look like you're in an awesome, you know,
• 1:16
Speaker 7: very mob guy's spot with Corleone behind you.
• 1:20
  Speaker 6: It looks awesome.
• 1:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, you know, I always ask,
• 1:23
Speaker 2: a lot of times we do consultations over Zoom, and
• 1:26
Speaker 2: I always require prospective clients to identify the people in
• 1:32
Speaker 2: the photo. because if they can't identify my godfather. Yeah.
• 1:38
  Speaker 6: Or his consigliere.
• 1:40
Speaker 2: Yeah. So, so we sometimes fashions are fashion ourselves as consigliere. Right.
• 1:46
Speaker 2: Cause we give people advice and consult and blah, blah, blah, blah. And, um,
• 1:51
  Speaker 2: while I don't whisper, um, I, I got a tapestry, uh,
• 1:56
Speaker 2: by the way, this is my headquarters. This is, we're
• 1:59
Speaker 2: on Richmond Avenue. Um, Don't come by. It's a gray building.
• 2:08
Speaker 2: I've got black bars all around me, and you can't
• 2:12
Speaker 2: get in, so don't even try.
• 2:13
Speaker 7: They actually don't let you in easily. I am going
• 2:16
Speaker 7: to admit that. If you show up and you're like,
• 2:17
Speaker 7: is this the Dolce Fino place?
• 2:19
Speaker 6: They're like, maybe. We don't know.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: Well, you know why? Because, first of all, people are
• 2:24
Speaker 2: always serving me with subpoenas. They want my records. They
• 2:27
Speaker 2: want to bother me. Look, also, as you probably know,
• 2:32
  Speaker 2: I have a few enemies. And I actually have a
• 2:37
Speaker 2: designated parking space here.
• 2:39
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 2:40
Speaker 2: And it has– I bought– actually, I didn't buy it,
• 2:44
Speaker 2: but I had my office manager buy me something that
• 2:45
Speaker 2: says The King. You saw it. I did. You were
• 2:48
Speaker 2: at my office, right? So– So if anyone wants to
• 2:52
Speaker 2: whack me, that's the place, right? When the cane pulls up. Sure.
• 2:59
Speaker 2: But what is that color? You know, I've been in
• 3:02
Speaker 2: the studio, and I don't even remember. That color is
• 3:07
Speaker 2: so ugly that I don't even remember what color it is.
• 3:13
Speaker 7: Yeah, it's like a beige-pink kind of crappy peach.
• 3:18
Speaker 6: Maybe it's peach. I might call it that. But it's
• 3:21
  Speaker 6: just rugs.
• 3:22
Speaker 7: The funny thing about a bunch of radio stations, and
• 3:24
Speaker 7: I don't know when they actually constructed this, but I'm
• 3:26
Speaker 7: assuming it was like the 90s or 80s, is.
• 3:29
Speaker 6: You just stapled rugs to the walls. That happened a lot.
• 3:33
Speaker 7: And then they made it fancier. But so I guess
• 3:35
Speaker 7: somebody found a lot of this rug. And that's probably
• 3:38
Speaker 7: why it looks this color.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: Can you put some stuff on the shelves at least? Yeah.
• 3:42
  Speaker 2: Behind you.
• 3:43
Speaker 6: Yeah, I can put a little bit of stuff up there.
• 3:44
Speaker 6: I'll bring in some stuff from home.
• 3:46
  Speaker 2: Like a trinket. I have a Tinkerbell. that I got
• 3:50
Speaker 2: from Disney for 25 years of service.
• 3:54
  Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
• 3:56
Speaker 2: I also have a Godfather bobblehead back there. Maybe you
• 3:59
Speaker 2: can see my Godfather bobblehead.
• 4:01
  Speaker 6: Not well.
• 4:02
Speaker 2: I also have the Godfather. I'll bring it up later.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: I also have the Godfather in my bathroom.
• 4:08
  Speaker 6: Okay, sure.
• 4:09
Speaker 2: So there's a hole. And if you could see the walls,
• 4:12
Speaker 2: and someday I will show you.
• 4:15
  Speaker 6: Okay.
• 4:16
Speaker 2: I have a picture of my grandfather outside the New Jersey...
• 4:20
Speaker 2: Fresh Jersey Pork Shop.
• 4:22
  Speaker 9: Yeah.
• 4:23
Speaker 2: I have the boat my grandparents came over from in Italy. Wow.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: It was called the Passaro. Okay. And I have their
• 4:33
Speaker 2: passenger itineraries. You know, their passenger things.
• 4:38
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 4:39
Speaker 2: From my grandfather, Antonio.
• 4:42
  Speaker 6: Wow.
• 4:43
Speaker 2: And from my grandmother, Anna.
• 4:45
  Speaker 9: Yeah.
• 4:46
Speaker 2: And I have a picture of Brooklyn. So this is
• 4:48
  Speaker 2: a whole.
• 4:49
Speaker 6: It's a whole thing. The whole thing.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: The mob guy is a mob guy. So.
• 4:53
  Speaker 10: So.
• 4:53
Speaker 2: And what is that dingy glass window?
• 4:56
Speaker 6: That's where Russell is.
• 4:57
Speaker 7: You can actually see Russell if he tries to, like,
• 4:59
Speaker 7: wave and get in the shot somehow.
• 5:02
Speaker 2: You notice Russell. Russell doesn't really talk.
• 5:04
Speaker 6: To as much. There he is. There he is standing up.
• 5:07
  Speaker 2: Russell. He's waving.
• 5:09
Speaker 6: But he doesn't like us that much. He likes us
• 5:10
Speaker 6: just a little bit.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: No, I think we should cover the window. You don't
• 5:15
Speaker 2: want to see Russell?
• 5:17
Speaker 6: Who cares about Russell? That's probably why he doesn't like us,
• 5:20
Speaker 6: because you say stuff like that on the radio.
• 5:22
Speaker 2: No, no, no. I love Russell.
• 5:23
  Speaker 7: I know.
• 5:24
  Speaker 6: He's amazing.
• 5:25
Speaker 7: We got the best producer slash program director in the business,
• 5:30
Speaker 7: because he does both jobs, which is crazy.
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: He's really great.
• 5:33
Speaker 6: You sent me a lot of stuff. You just referenced
• 5:34
  Speaker 6: New Jersey.
• 5:35
Speaker 7: I'm sort of tempted to ask you if you like
• 5:37
Speaker 7: pork rolls or not, but we can get to regular
• 5:39
Speaker 7: news if you'd rather do that.
• 5:41
  Speaker 6: It's either or.
• 5:42
Speaker 2: You know, I'm pretty cool, but I'm not a big
• 5:44
  Speaker 2: pork roll guy.
• 5:45
  Speaker 8: Me neither.
• 5:46
Speaker 2: I was a potato knish guy.
• 5:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, those are actually better.
• 5:50
Speaker 2: And I liked the egg rolls. You cannot find egg
• 5:54
Speaker 2: rolls in most places here like you could in New York.
• 5:59
Speaker 2: And I also, when we moved here in 68, I
• 6:03
  Speaker 2: guess it was.
• 6:04
  Speaker 3: And.
• 6:06
Speaker 2: My father and mother loved It was little noodles, crispy
• 6:10
  Speaker 2: Chinese noodles.
• 6:11
  Speaker 3: Sure.
• 6:11
Speaker 2: They were called Me Too noodles. Yeah. And we used
• 6:15
Speaker 2: to get like packages and packages shipped to us. I
• 6:19
Speaker 2: remember when we came to Texas. But I miss chocolate
• 6:23
Speaker 2: egg creams from up there. People down here don't even
• 6:25
Speaker 2: know what the hell a chocolate egg cream is. But
• 6:28
Speaker 2: I'm not even sure I knew what it was, but
• 6:31
  Speaker 2: it was great.
• 6:32
Speaker 6: But it was really, people don't really know what a
• 6:33
Speaker 6: pork roll is either. It's just fine.
• 6:35
Speaker 7: All right, let's let, we can get to actual news.
• 6:37
Speaker 7: You sent me a bunch of topics that you wanted
• 6:39
Speaker 7: to talk about. One of them is a forced Bible study, uh,
• 6:43
Speaker 7: that will take place here in Texas. Uh, the Bible
• 6:46
Speaker 7: will be a book that, uh, a bunch of kids
• 6:49
Speaker 7: have to read, uh, in school grades.
• 6:51
Speaker 6: One through 12. Uh, what are your thoughts about that one?
• 6:54
Speaker 2: So, um, look, I obviously believe in the Bible.
• 7:00
  Speaker 11: Sure.
• 7:00
Speaker 2: And, um, My wife and son have become very, very
• 7:05
Speaker 2: strict Catholics. A lot more stricter than Crazy Wayne, but
• 7:11
Speaker 2: certainly strict Catholics. My son is raising my grandkids to
• 7:17
Speaker 2: be very faithful. They talk and study a lot about
• 7:22
Speaker 2: the Bible and about Jesus. I just don't know that
• 7:28
Speaker 2: school should be the place where we require people to
• 7:33
Speaker 2: learn one religion. Sure. I mean, if you want to
• 7:36
Speaker 2: go to Catholic school, then go to Catholic school. Or
• 7:41
Speaker 2: you want to go to a private school. Like, my
• 7:43
Speaker 2: grandson goes to a private school, and it's a classical education, right?
• 7:49
Speaker 2: So it's a much better education. Sure. This, where the
• 7:54
Speaker 2: libertarian wing comes in, I just don't know that's the
• 7:58
  Speaker 2: right play.
• 7:59
  Speaker 12: Yeah.
• 8:00
Speaker 2: Whether we like it or not is really the point.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: We're in a very diverse situation, especially in big cities.
• 8:09
Speaker 2: And I just think that's just a recipe for more,
• 8:13
Speaker 2: you know, more of this stuff.
• 8:15
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 8:16
Speaker 7: The only thing I'll say about it as part is
• 8:18
  Speaker 7: a devil's advocate sort of approach. But I do I
• 8:20
Speaker 7: do agree with you. I do think that you're right
• 8:23
Speaker 7: that that forcing the Bible.
• 8:25
Speaker 2: Of course, I'm right.
• 8:26
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 8:27
Speaker 7: That forcing the Bible on kids in school is probably
• 8:29
Speaker 7: not the right approach, but they're already getting forced opinion
• 8:33
Speaker 7: every day from these teachers who tell them all kinds
• 8:35
Speaker 7: of crazy things and have, like, the gay pride flag.
• 8:37
  Speaker 6: In their rooms.
• 8:38
Speaker 7: Like, the teachers are already infusing kids with ideology. So
• 8:42
Speaker 7: if we pretend they're not, then— and I'm not saying you're
• 8:45
Speaker 7: doing that, but I'm saying the people who really come
• 8:47
Speaker 7: after this are pretending that it has no place in
• 8:50
Speaker 7: school when we know— that the other version does. So
• 8:53
Speaker 7: this is almost like fighting fire with fire, but it
• 8:56
Speaker 7: shouldn't have to come to this. We should pull more
• 8:59
Speaker 7: ideology out of the classroom on the other side, as
• 9:02
Speaker 7: opposed to forcing this in.
• 9:04
Speaker 2: And that's the answer, right? The answer is there shouldn't
• 9:06
Speaker 2: be ideology, right? Let's teach kids reading, writing math, how
• 9:12
Speaker 2: to take care of their crap. I mean, I would
• 9:15
Speaker 2: have loved to have taken auto shop just so I could,
• 9:18
Speaker 2: I changed the oil in my car once. It cost
• 9:21
Speaker 2: me $ 800 after the damage I did.
• 9:24
Speaker 6: I can do that for you. I can change the oil.
• 9:26
Speaker 2: Well, good. I'll call you. Anytime, buddy. Like Jiffy Lube. Okay.
• 9:33
Speaker 2: Is Jiffy Lube still around?
• 9:34
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's still around.
• 9:36
Speaker 2: They should send me some money.
• 9:37
Speaker 6: They should. We just name drop them.
• 9:39
Speaker 7: I like the one with the five-minute auto change, whatever
• 9:43
  Speaker 7: that is.
• 9:44
Speaker 6: That's not the name.
• 9:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, but anyway, so there's things that I think would
• 9:48
Speaker 2: have been helpful. My father was not a tools guy.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: We didn't hang out and work on the car together.
• 9:56
Speaker 2: He just wasn't that guy, and I'm not that guy.
• 10:00
Speaker 2: and I have no idea how to tell my son
• 10:03
  Speaker 2: I mean I can barely use like a I could
• 10:06
Speaker 2: use a blower because you know you just turn it
• 10:09
Speaker 2: on and blow but like I never could use that
• 10:12
Speaker 2: weed eater whacker thing I'm serious that's fine I mean,
• 10:18
Speaker 2: everybody's got their skill sets and the stuff they do
• 10:21
Speaker 2: and the stuff they don't do. Like, you would never
• 10:23
Speaker 2: hire me to put together a Christmas toy. You wouldn't.
• 10:29
  Speaker 2: I can't. I couldn't do it.
• 10:31
Speaker 6: Yeah, I get it.
• 10:32
Speaker 2: But anyway, so I think the answer is what you said,
• 10:38
Speaker 2: is we need to take all the ideology out. Yes.
• 10:41
Speaker 2: Let mom and dad and the families know. teach their
• 10:45
Speaker 2: kids about faith and how to act and how to
• 10:51
Speaker 2: treat others, and I think we'll be fine.
• 10:54
Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree with you.
• 10:56
  Speaker 2: That's what I think.
• 10:57
Speaker 7: I just wish that more families were doing that because
• 10:59
Speaker 7: the other thing I was going to say is that
• 11:01
Speaker 7: faith itself seems to be dwindling in our society, and
• 11:04
Speaker 7: that seems to be a bad thing. We got the
• 11:05
Speaker 7: bump song playing. Wayne can't hear it yet. We're going
• 11:08
Speaker 7: to fix that so that he can hear it in
• 11:09
Speaker 7: the near future. But, yeah, he's throwing his hand up
• 11:12
  Speaker 7: in the air.
• 11:12
Speaker 6: That's great. Quick break.
• 11:14

• 11:17

• 11:24
  Speaker 2: What's your name again? I don't know.
• 11:25
Speaker 6: Who knows? Some other guy, which is perfect for the
• 11:28
Speaker 6: mob guys. I'm that other dude. KSV Mornings. Quick break.

Speaker 6: KSDV morning. My name is Craig Collins.
• 15:34
Speaker 2: And I am Wayne DelTrofino.
• 15:37
Speaker 6: He is Wayne DelTrofino. He says his own name.
• 15:39
  Speaker 2: Darn it.
• 15:39
Speaker 7: We are KSCV Mornings, 700 AM, The Voice of Texas.
• 15:44
Speaker 7: We were talking about, just a bit ago, kids and
• 15:47
Speaker 7: classrooms and learning, you know, the Bible and whatnot. And
• 15:51
Speaker 7: if you want to call in about that topic or
• 15:52
Speaker 7: any topic, you can call in.
• 15:54
Speaker 6: Be a part of the show. Go ahead.
• 15:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, what's their number?
• 15:57
Speaker 6: Yeah, KSCV's call-in number is 281-558-5738. 281- Five, five, eight, five, seven, three, eight.
• 16:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, no. And I, I think our audience might disagree
• 16:08
Speaker 2: with me and you a little bit. And like I said, I,
• 16:12
Speaker 2: I fundamentally believe that we're a much better society when
• 16:17
Speaker 2: we're teaching the fundamentals of our religion. Yes. Right. And
• 16:24
Speaker 2: our faith. I really do. And whatever faith you have,
• 16:27
Speaker 2: I mean, it's, you know, whatever. I'm not one that,
• 16:31
Speaker 2: you know, I'm not one that's in the camp of
• 16:34
Speaker 2: if you don't believe everything I believe that you're, you know, whatever.
• 16:39
Speaker 2: It's not that that's not a thing for me like that. Right.
• 16:44
Speaker 2: But but I I do believe that school should be
• 16:49
Speaker 2: to learn stuff so you can add. Right. So I
• 16:55
Speaker 2: can ask one of my employees, what is. a hundred
• 16:59
Speaker 2: divided by a million and they could, you know, figure
• 17:03
Speaker 2: it out and they could go to like their phone
• 17:06
Speaker 2: to figure it out. You know, I was from the,
• 17:09
Speaker 2: the era when like slide rulers came out and everybody
• 17:12
Speaker 2: was going, no, no, no, you can't use slide rulers. Right.
• 17:15
  Speaker 2: Remember that?
• 17:16
  Speaker 4: Right.
• 17:16
  Speaker 6: I remember that.
• 17:17
Speaker 2: Yes. Cause it was like new technology. Sure.
• 17:19
  Speaker 12: Right.
• 17:19
  Speaker 2: Sure.
• 17:20
Speaker 6: I'm of course old enough for that.
• 17:21
  Speaker 10: Yeah.
• 17:22
Speaker 2: And that raised another subject that I thought was really worth,
• 17:26
Speaker 2: disgusting and debating is this Amandami nut in New York
• 17:32
Speaker 2: actually proposed something that I think is something that we
• 17:36
Speaker 2: should debate. And, and again, there's real divergent views of it.
• 17:41
Speaker 2: And that is he wants to take AI out of
• 17:46
Speaker 2: schools for kids that are in junior high school and
• 17:49
Speaker 2: in elementary school. And because we, AI is enabling them
• 17:55
Speaker 2: now to not even critically think about stuff. We've taken
• 18:00
Speaker 2: away from kids a lot of the stuff they used
• 18:03
Speaker 2: to know how to do or figure out on their
• 18:06
Speaker 2: own because now you can Google anything. I'm forgetting AI
• 18:11
Speaker 2: for a second. You can Google anything. I ask my
• 18:16
Speaker 2: employees all the time, my reporters, I go, hey, who
• 18:19
Speaker 2: is the mayor of this city? And they'll look at
• 18:22
Speaker 2: me like, well, I don't know. Well, we're investigating the mayor.
• 18:25
Speaker 2: Shouldn't we know who he is, right? That kind of thing. Yeah.
• 18:28
Speaker 2: And they'll look at me like I've got four heads,
• 18:31
Speaker 2: and I'll turn around on my computer, and in five
• 18:34
Speaker 2: seconds I'll know who the mayor is, and I'll probably
• 18:37
Speaker 2: know how much money he makes.
• 18:38
  Speaker 6: Sure.
• 18:39
Speaker 2: Unless he's like a city manager in Galveston where he
• 18:41
Speaker 2: makes like a ridiculous amount of money, right?
• 18:43
  Speaker 11: Right.
• 18:44
Speaker 2: You know, the amount of money they pay government people
• 18:46
Speaker 2: now is really ridiculous.
• 18:48
  Speaker 8: Yeah, I know.
• 18:50
Speaker 2: In the day, it was, we don't make as much
• 18:53
Speaker 2: money as you guys in the private sector. Right. But
• 18:57
Speaker 2: we get better pensions.
• 18:59
  Speaker 17: Yes.
• 18:59
  Speaker 11: Right?
• 19:00
Speaker 2: So you give a crappy salary for 20, 30 years.
• 19:05
Speaker 2: Then you retire. And then, you know, I'll be living
• 19:09
Speaker 2: in a shack. I'm selling seashells when I'm old and,
• 19:14
  Speaker 2: and you'll have 80, a hundred, a hundred, $ 20, 000 a
• 19:17
Speaker 2: year and you'll be just fine. Yeah. Right.
• 19:19
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 19:20
Speaker 2: But now you look at salaries. I mean, we looked,
• 19:24
Speaker 2: we were looking yesterday because of an investigation we're doing
• 19:27
Speaker 2: down in Galveston. There was like, there's like a city manager,
• 19:30
Speaker 2: an assistant city manager, a deputy city manager. And they
• 19:34
  Speaker 2: make like, I think it's like $ 700, 000 with all three
• 19:37
Speaker 2: of them. It's just a lot of money. Wow. And
• 19:40
Speaker 2: I'm just going like, I see these towns like in
• 19:43
Speaker 2: Conroe where they're like 350 grand they're paying people to.
• 19:47
Speaker 2: I'm going like, really?
• 19:48
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 19:48
Speaker 6: And they're giving them huge raises. recently, right, too?
• 19:51
Speaker 7: Like, some of these people are getting, like, 500 or,
• 19:54
Speaker 7: you know, $ 100, 000 extra, depending on where they live.
• 19:59
  Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
• 19:59
  Speaker 6: Yeah, go ahead.
• 20:00
Speaker 2: And they even give them raises when they mess up.
• 20:03
  Speaker 11: Right.
• 20:03
Speaker 2: Like, in Corpus Christi, the auditor was accused by multiple
• 20:06
Speaker 2: women of, of a toxic work atmosphere and some misconduct.
• 20:11
Speaker 2: They not only didn't fire him as recommended months later,
• 20:15
Speaker 2: they gave him a big fat raise.
• 20:17
Speaker 6: What do we do to fight this? I mean, you're
• 20:19
Speaker 6: doing part of it, right.
• 20:20
Speaker 7: And just telling people about the thing that a lot
• 20:22
Speaker 7: of people don't seem to know about or aren't paying
• 20:24
Speaker 7: attention to, but what else can we do to actually
• 20:27
Speaker 7: stop them from doing this? I, you know what?
• 20:30
Speaker 2: I think that is one of the, the worst things
• 20:33
Speaker 2: about the death of local media. because when the local
• 20:40
Speaker 2: media had, let's say in Houston you had, no offense
• 20:43
Speaker 2: to 26, but you had the big three, right, 2, 11,
• 20:47
Speaker 2: and 13, and we all had big investigative units, and
• 20:50
Speaker 2: we were up everybody's butt, and we were all doing
• 20:54
Speaker 2: different stuff, and everybody was doing good work, and you
• 20:59
Speaker 2: knew a lot, or you could learn a lot about
• 21:01
Speaker 2: the rackets going on. I guarantee you now that most
• 21:05
Speaker 2: people don't know what people make. I'll give you another
• 21:10
Speaker 2: quick example, and then we'll get on to this other stuff.
• 21:14
  Speaker 12: Sure.
• 21:14
Speaker 2: So as everyone knows, I fight about records, public records,
• 21:20
Speaker 2: all the time. So this is just one of nine
• 21:24
Speaker 2: million things that are totally screwed up about the Public
• 21:28
Speaker 2: Information Act. So I'm investigating an ambulance contract in West Texas.
• 21:35
Speaker 2: And so I asked them to see the proposals they
• 21:39
Speaker 2: got for ambulance service, and then I asked to see
• 21:43
Speaker 2: the scoring sheets, right? And you look at scoring sheets
• 21:46
Speaker 2: because you want to see if there's one guy who thinks, hey,
• 21:51
Speaker 2: I'll give this company all 10s, right, because maybe I'm
• 21:53
Speaker 2: on the tape, right, or I'll grade this company really low.
• 21:57
Speaker 2: You just look at stuff like that. So anyway, they'll
• 22:00
Speaker 2: give you the scoring sheets. But they won't give you
• 22:03
Speaker 2: the proposals. They say it's confidential because of trade secrets.
• 22:09
Speaker 2: And I go, back up the truck. Wait a second.
• 22:12
Speaker 2: So let me get this straight. Somebody wants to do
• 22:16
Speaker 2: business with me, right? Because the city is me. They
• 22:20
Speaker 2: call themselves an entity, right? Whatever. But they want to
• 22:24
Speaker 2: do business with me. They want me to pay for it.
• 22:27
Speaker 2: And there's four companies. And I'm not allowed to see
• 22:30
Speaker 2: as a taxpayer anything. what their deal is until you
• 22:37
Speaker 2: vote on it. How do you question it? How do
• 22:40
Speaker 2: you go to City Hall and say, hey, all these proposals,
• 22:43
Speaker 2: they should all be public. If you have a trade secret,
• 22:47
Speaker 2: then don't do business with the government. Don't do business
• 22:52
  Speaker 2: with me.
• 22:52
  Speaker 6: I love that.
• 22:53
Speaker 2: Can you imagine? We got a new cleaning service recently.
• 22:58
  Speaker 6: Trade secrets.
• 22:59
Speaker 2: Obviously, I'm not going to do it, right? And a
• 23:01
Speaker 2: couple of cleaning companies, we call people, right? You say, hey,
• 23:04
Speaker 2: what's your deal? How much do you charge? How many people? Blah, blah, blah.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: And they say, sorry, can't tell you. I'm not going
• 23:11
Speaker 2: to tell you how much I'm going to charge you.
• 23:12
Speaker 2: You're just going to hire me. I'm going to show up, right?
• 23:16
Speaker 2: And in ambulance contracts, cities are paying a lot more
• 23:21
Speaker 2: money to certain companies to do exactly the same thing
• 23:26
Speaker 2: someone else offered them. when those are good companies too,
• 23:30
Speaker 2: and that's where you say, well, that's kind of interesting.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: Why would I want to pay $ 700, 000 more for essentially
• 23:39
  Speaker 2: the same service?
• 23:40
Speaker 7: Yeah, I would not want to pay $ 700, 000 more for
• 23:42
Speaker 7: essentially the same service.
• 23:44
  Speaker 2: I digress. I digress.
• 23:45
  Speaker 10: Sure.
• 23:46
Speaker 2: So I wanted to raise this whole Mondami idea about
• 23:50
Speaker 2: whether or not people think we should take the tablets
• 23:55
Speaker 2: and the phones and all that crap. out of schools.
• 23:57
  Speaker 6: Yeah, you did.
• 23:58
Speaker 2: I think that's something to talk about.
• 24:00
Speaker 7: You sent another topic from New York, and I think
• 24:02
Speaker 7: we just got like a minute until we take a break,
• 24:04
Speaker 7: so we're probably teasing this more than discussing it. A
• 24:06
Speaker 7: New York City ban on AI in elementary, middle school classrooms.
• 24:12
Speaker 6: Even though I don't like the idea of.
• 24:14
Speaker 7: Bans, as you said and I said via text even yesterday,
• 24:21
Speaker 7: this is slightly different, and I'm not going to praise
• 24:23
Speaker 7: Mamdami often on this show. But I do think that
• 24:27
Speaker 7: taking AI and technology out of kids' hands in classrooms,
• 24:30
Speaker 7: that can't be bad.
• 24:31
Speaker 6: So we'll talk about that more.
• 24:32
Speaker 7: Wayne will give us his take on it on The
• 24:34
Speaker 7: Voice of Texas, KSEV AM 700.
• 24:38
Speaker 6: And it's the KSEV Morning Show.
• 24:58
Speaker 18: When it's time to replace a roof, some people put
• 25:01
Speaker 18: it off until an emergency arises. This is Deb DeHatta
• 25:04
Speaker 18: from Tejas Roofing, your Houston roofing company.
• 25:07
  Speaker 6: I understand.
• 25:08
Speaker 18: People tell me it's way too complicated and too expensive.
• 25:11
Speaker 13: Our customers tell us they wish they would have done
• 25:14
  Speaker 13: it sooner.
• 25:15
Speaker 6: I hear it all the time.
• 25:16
Speaker 18: Once the roof is replaced, they wonder why they waited
• 25:18
Speaker 18: so long because it's really not that complicated. We show
• 25:22
Speaker 18: up on time. We quote you a fair price. We
• 25:24
Speaker 18: replace most roofs in just one day. At Tejas Roofing,
• 25:27
Speaker 18: we take pride in making the process easy.
• 25:30
Speaker 13: The cleanup is phenomenal. People always comment that it looks
• 25:33
Speaker 13: like we were never there. And now those customers sleep
• 25:36
Speaker 13: better at night knowing your new roof has been installed correctly.
• 25:39

• 26:40
Speaker 12: From the KSCV Weather Center, today we'll bring a mix
• 26:42
Speaker 12: of clouds and sun with a few intense thunderstorms possible,
• 26:45
Speaker 12: making it a humid day. The increased rainfall could result
• 26:48
Speaker 12: in flooding issues. The high will reach 90 degrees tonight.
• 26:50
Speaker 12: Expect a thunderstorm early on, then some lingering clouds with
• 26:53
Speaker 12: humidity prevailing. The low temperature will be 76 degrees. Tomorrow
• 26:56
Speaker 12: will be partly sunny and humid with a chance of
• 26:58
Speaker 12: a thunderstorm and a high of 92 degrees. On Saturday,
• 27:01
Speaker 12: anticipate a humid day with a mix of clouds and
• 27:03
Speaker 12: sun and a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. The high

Speaker 12: temperature will climb to 94 degrees. With the KSCV Weather

• 27:25
Speaker 7: KSEV, this is the voice of Texas, KSEV Mornings.
• 27:30
Speaker 6: My name is Craig Collins. He is the Wayne Dolcefino.
• 27:34
  Speaker 2: Hey, kids.
• 27:35
  Speaker 6: Hey, kids.
• 27:36
Speaker 7: And during the break, we were talking about Chicago, but
• 27:39
Speaker 7: we also set up a topic about AI in schools
• 27:42
  Speaker 7: in New York.
• 27:42
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 27:43
Speaker 7: Mamdami is a guy who's doing a lot of horrible,
• 27:45
Speaker 7: terrible things, like the public grocery stores.
• 27:48
Speaker 6: This might not be one of those things.
• 27:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I just think it's a legitimate discussion because
• 27:56
Speaker 2: we are losing this education thing. And I used to
• 28:01
Speaker 2: investigate HIC a lot when I was a TV. In fact,
• 28:04
Speaker 2: there are some people who suggested when they put up
• 28:06
Speaker 2: the glass walls in the lobby of the old HIC
• 28:10
Speaker 2: building that it was called Wayne proofing because I used
• 28:13
Speaker 2: to go in there and just walk into people's offices and,
• 28:17
Speaker 2: you know, like people that work for me, you know.
• 28:21
Speaker 2: I have this weird thing about actually thinking the government
• 28:24
Speaker 2: works for me and doesn't run me.
• 28:27
  Speaker 10: They do.
• 28:28
Speaker 2: I remember investigating HISD, and I got a letter about
• 28:32
Speaker 2: not giving me something, and they said, for protection of
• 28:34
Speaker 2: the entity. And I went, what? What? Protection of the entity?
• 28:40
  Speaker 10: Who?
• 28:40
Speaker 2: Public school. Anyway, so I want to talk about that,
• 28:45
Speaker 2: but the thing I was most upset about over the
• 28:49
Speaker 2: last couple of days. And there's a story I've been
• 28:51
Speaker 2: working on that makes me very upset. I'll talk about
• 28:53
Speaker 2: that a little bit later, but, but the thing that
• 28:56
Speaker 2: really upset me, um, well, not upset me. I actually, it,
• 29:01
Speaker 2: it may, I had to fire a couple of white
• 29:03
Speaker 2: people at my company.
• 29:05
  Speaker 9: Gotcha.
• 29:05
Speaker 2: Right. I fired three white people and you're probably going
• 29:08
Speaker 2: to ask me why, right?
• 29:11
Speaker 6: I would like to know why did you fire them
• 29:12
  Speaker 6: for being white?
• 29:14
  Speaker 2: Well, yes.
• 29:15
  Speaker 13: Okay.
• 29:15
  Speaker 6: Of course.
• 29:16
Speaker 2: Yeah. Because, the mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, look, my company,
• 29:21
Speaker 2: you know, we, we got to work. I got to
• 29:22
Speaker 2: pay people. Right. So I thought about maybe getting a
• 29:25
Speaker 2: contract in the city of Chicago. I thought they would
• 29:28
Speaker 2: hire me to investigate corrupt Chicago officials. Sure. Right. The
• 29:33
Speaker 2: taxpayers would pay me. I'd get a cut maybe of
• 29:36
Speaker 2: what I save. You know, I thought about that.
• 29:38
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 29:39
Speaker 6: But they, Yeah, I know. He's crazy.
• 29:50
Speaker 7: And he says that doing a business, you need to
• 29:54
  Speaker 7: have minorities employed.
• 29:55
Speaker 6: Is that right? Do you want me to play that audio?
• 29:56
Speaker 6: Is that what you're asking for?
• 29:57
Speaker 2: No, it's exactly. Can you not get a hint?
• 30:02
Speaker 6: I didn't have it ready. Wayne, I didn't have it ready.
• 30:04
Speaker 6: I told you that you wouldn't be able to hear it.
• 30:06
Speaker 2: That's what the truth is.
• 30:08
Speaker 6: I said that you wouldn't be able to hear it,
• 30:10
Speaker 6: so I didn't know if you still wanted me to
• 30:11
Speaker 6: play it. But I can play it. All right, we'll
• 30:13
Speaker 6: play it. Here we go.
• 30:15
Speaker 17: If you want to do business with this city, we
• 30:18
Speaker 17: want to know whether the people leading your company reflect
• 30:21
Speaker 17: the diversity of the communities whose tax dollars are paying
• 30:25
  Speaker 17: your contracts.
• 30:26
Speaker 7: Yeah, so he said that he wants to make sure
• 30:29
Speaker 7: that the people who work for your company, as everybody
• 30:31
Speaker 7: but Wayne just heard, actually reflect the diversity of his.
• 30:35
Speaker 6: Community, meaning they can't be white guys.
• 30:38
Speaker 2: Okay, that's exactly right. Okay, so I'll say a couple things.
• 30:41
Speaker 2: Number one, folks can't see it, right? But the media
• 30:45
Speaker 2: was standing in a room like, I think everybody in
• 30:47
Speaker 2: there was, I guess, black. I don't know. They were
• 30:49
  Speaker 2: darker skinned.
• 30:50
Speaker 6: Yeah, there's black guys behind him.
• 30:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really, I'm not in that game where
• 30:53
Speaker 2: I say, well, hey, he's black, he's green, he's olive. Look,
• 30:56
Speaker 2: I'm not a white guy. I'm Italian. I'm olive skinned, right?
• 30:59
Speaker 2: You are, yeah. So I don't really get that. But
• 31:02
Speaker 2: he was standing in a room, I would just point out, Mr.
• 31:04
Speaker 2: Diversity ought to find some white people to stand in
• 31:08
Speaker 2: the room with him because that would be a little diverse, right?
• 31:11
  Speaker 10: Yeah.
• 31:11
  Speaker 2: Maybe a few Hispanics. I don't know.
• 31:15
Speaker 7: I love when people say diversity and they're of any
• 31:18
Speaker 7: minority at all. And what they're actually saying is me.
• 31:21
Speaker 7: I want more people that look like me. And, you know,
• 31:24
Speaker 7: the white guy who would also be part of the
• 31:26
Speaker 7: diversity group, he's now out.
• 31:28
Speaker 6: So it's not diverse. It's just very different.
• 31:31
Speaker 7: It's everybody has to be black instead of everybody they
• 31:34
Speaker 7: assume is white when they're all not.
• 31:37
Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, as somebody who investigated government for a long time,
• 31:40
  Speaker 2: I mean, there's a ton of and a far greater
• 31:45
Speaker 2: percentage than, I guess, the color of their skin.
• 31:47
  Speaker 11: Sure.
• 31:48
Speaker 2: Like, look at the judges, right? We elected all these
• 31:51
Speaker 2: Democratic judges, right? They're all the black magic ladies, the judges,
• 31:57
Speaker 2: the 17 judges. So they call themselves, I think. They do, yes.
• 32:01
Speaker 2: And so, and most government agencies, you know, a lot
• 32:06
Speaker 2: of African American people, great, congratulations, right? But, I don't
• 32:12
Speaker 2: know what he means exactly. So, like, he didn't spell
• 32:16
Speaker 2: out for me... Like, if my company wanted to do
• 32:19
Speaker 2: business with the city of Chicago and get hired as
• 32:21
Speaker 2: their watchdog, right? Which I do. I mean, tell the mayor, right?
• 32:26
  Speaker 2: I'm available.
• 32:27
Speaker 6: He's not happy with you, though.
• 32:28
Speaker 2: Exactly what percentage of black people and Hispanics and Asians and...
• 32:37
Speaker 2: Should I add South Asians? What percentage... would be appropriate verse.
• 32:42
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 32:43
Speaker 2: I just don't know the answer to that question. And
• 32:45
Speaker 2: so yesterday I did a survey of my staff because
• 32:52
  Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe they're not.
• 32:54
  Speaker 6: That's true.
• 32:55
Speaker 2: Hey, maybe they're mixed race. Right. I don't know who
• 32:58
Speaker 2: their grandmother was. Maybe she was a, a Sue. Yeah.
• 33:01
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 33:02
Speaker 7: Elizabeth Warren is Pocahontas. So you never know what people could.
• 33:05
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 33:06
  Speaker 2: Right. But I did do a, I did do a
• 33:09
Speaker 2: little research yesterday and discovered that I have– I think
• 33:14
  Speaker 2: I have 10 employees. I don't even know how many
• 33:15
Speaker 2: people work for me. I think I have 10 employees.
• 33:18
Speaker 2: I think most of them are white. I have had
• 33:22
Speaker 2: several African-American employees, just not currently. I do have one
• 33:27
Speaker 2: Hispanic person, although I do have an office manager that
• 33:31
Speaker 2: thinks all Hispanics are Mexicans. He doesn't know the difference,
• 33:34
  Speaker 2: but anyway.
• 33:35
  Speaker 18: Okay.
• 33:35
Speaker 2: But but but this employee is Ecuadorian. She has a
• 33:41
Speaker 2: Palestinian boyfriend. I've learned.
• 33:43
  Speaker 6: Oh, well, hey.
• 33:44
Speaker 2: Right. I can't claim him as part of my diversity.
• 33:48
  Speaker 6: Why not?
• 33:48
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 33:49
Speaker 6: Well, he might go to a party like he'll go
• 33:51
Speaker 6: to an office party.
• 33:52
Speaker 2: Right. I could lie.
• 33:55
Speaker 6: You can also lie.
• 33:56
Speaker 2: So I said to myself, I told my staff yesterday,
• 33:58
Speaker 2: I said, which one of you white folks wants to
• 34:00
Speaker 2: get fired? Because I'm going to have to fire. three
• 34:04
Speaker 2: or four white people. But then, is it the percentage
• 34:07
Speaker 2: of the population in Chicago? Like, I have no idea
• 34:11
Speaker 2: what percentage of Chicago is white. I have no idea.
• 34:15
Speaker 2: And I think anyone who even keeps track of that
• 34:18
Speaker 2: stuff is doing exactly the opposite of what we should
• 34:23
Speaker 2: be doing as a society. Yes. Right?
• 34:25
Speaker 7: 100%. By the way, white is the most predominant race
• 34:29
Speaker 7: even in Chicago. Hispanic and Latino is just slightly higher
• 34:32
  Speaker 7: than black and African, but it's about 36%, 30%, 30%.
• 34:36
Speaker 2: Okay, so I want to tell the mayor of Chicago something.
• 34:40
Speaker 2: Next time you open your flap, I want to see
• 34:43
Speaker 2: a third of the room.
• 34:44
  Speaker 6: White.
• 34:46
Speaker 2: Only black. I don't want any more black people than 36%. Right.
• 34:50
  Speaker 2: That's it.
• 34:50
Speaker 6: Well, 30%, actually. You can only have 30%.
• 34:53
Speaker 7: So if there's 10 guys in a room, you get
• 34:55
Speaker 7: three and a half white guys and only three black
• 34:58
Speaker 7: guys and only three Hispanic people.
• 35:00
Speaker 2: And what do you do with the people who are
• 35:02
  Speaker 2: of mixed.
• 35:04
Speaker 6: race that's the other one that's the other half of
• 35:06
  Speaker 6: a guy.
• 35:07
Speaker 2: You put a half of a guy.
• 35:10
Speaker 7: That's half a guy so one one of your employees
• 35:13
Speaker 7: has to be half white and half a lot of
• 35:15
  Speaker 7: stuff and.
• 35:17
Speaker 2: What about disabilities should i i.
• 35:19
Speaker 6: Don't know you got to check with brandon i just
• 35:22
  Speaker 6: want to.
• 35:23
Speaker 2: Find out because because one of the other things that
• 35:26
Speaker 2: really bothers me As a guy who runs a small business,
• 35:29
Speaker 2: and you don't know anything about running a business, right?
• 35:31
Speaker 2: You're just like a radio guy. What do you know?
• 35:33
Speaker 6: I actually did have a small business.
• 35:34
Speaker 2: For a while. And it went out of business, right?
• 35:37
Speaker 6: Well, now I moved and I closed it.
• 35:39
Speaker 2: Okay. Well, so I'm not– I don't want to be cruel.
• 35:42
Speaker 2: But seriously, so I have– I am not allowed to
• 35:47
Speaker 2: ask people– I don't really care about these federal laws.
• 35:51
Speaker 2: I may violate one or two. I don't even know.
• 35:55
Speaker 2: Come get me. But– But, but I'm not allowed to
• 36:00
Speaker 2: ask people about their health when I hire them. And
• 36:05
  Speaker 2: I have employees and I won't mention Clayton's name more
• 36:08
Speaker 2: than once, but I haven't, I have, I have some employees.
• 36:12
Speaker 6: Your employees have to listen to the show. If they
• 36:14
Speaker 6: don't listen, they have to listen. Sorry.
• 36:17
Speaker 2: I have some employees that call in sick. He's a
• 36:20
Speaker 2: Monday sick guy. If it's Monday, I go, Hey, Craig's
• 36:23
Speaker 2: going to be sick. Right. Um, I don't know their diseases, right?
• 36:29
  Speaker 2: I don't know what their issues are, right? I don't
• 36:32
  Speaker 2: really care, right?
• 36:34
Speaker 6: I care, but, you know, not really. Yeah, I got it.
• 36:38
Speaker 2: But I think I should have a right to know
• 36:40
Speaker 2: as an employer this stuff. I want to know if
• 36:44
Speaker 2: you have, like, a gout, right? I want to know
• 36:47
Speaker 2: if you have anxiety issues and you get stressed out.
• 36:53
Speaker 2: I want to know that, right? Well, and.
• 36:55
Speaker 7: Even so, Wayne, we talked about this too, like you
• 36:58
Speaker 7: can't know political affiliation. And when you hire people at
• 37:01
Speaker 7: political places like this place where we currently work, where
• 37:05
Speaker 7: I currently work at KSEV Radio, and this has happened
• 37:08
Speaker 7: to me at other radio stations, you hire a guy
• 37:10
Speaker 7: that applies for a job to be a producer at
• 37:12
Speaker 7: a conservative radio station, and then he hates the politics.
• 37:16
Speaker 6: And you're like, I don't know if this is going
• 37:17
Speaker 6: to work out, man, if you hate the politics.
• 37:19
Speaker 7: But you can't ask them that until you obviously can
• 37:21
Speaker 7: tell it's too late and they pretend they like it
• 37:24
Speaker 7: until they get the job.
• 37:25
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, look, at my place, I admittedly have some
• 37:28
  Speaker 2: left-wing freaks that I hired. I didn't know they were
• 37:31
Speaker 2: left-wing freaks when I hired them. I mean, they pulled
• 37:35
Speaker 2: the wool over my eyes. I don't ask those questions, right?
• 37:39
Speaker 2: I tell people what we do, and I tell people
• 37:41
Speaker 2: that I don't care whether you're Republican or Democrat. If
• 37:44
Speaker 2: there's an investigation, there's an investigation. It is what it is.
• 37:48
Speaker 2: But I have some people that if I knew today
• 37:52
Speaker 2: what their politics were, back when I hired them, I
• 37:56
Speaker 2: might not have hired them.
• 37:57
  Speaker 6: Yeah, sure.
• 38:00
Speaker 2: I just, to be totally honest, and I enjoy the banter, right.
• 38:04
Speaker 2: But you know, I'm the boomer here. They're all young,
• 38:07
Speaker 2: you know, they're all like half Marxist, like these, all
• 38:10
Speaker 2: these other young dumb butts. They're just fools. Right. I mean,
• 38:17
Speaker 2: if you can't, if they can't look, if the, if
• 38:20
Speaker 2: the people in this country are not smart enough to
• 38:23
Speaker 2: look at history, Capitalism has lots of issues. Greed is
• 38:29
Speaker 2: the big one. But compared to the other things, it's amazing.
• 38:37
Speaker 2: It's been very great for this country. I'm shocked at
• 38:43
Speaker 2: the politics. But I should get to know this. If
• 38:47
Speaker 2: I only want to hire short Jewish people, Right? Because
• 38:52
Speaker 2: I like short Jewish people.
• 38:54
  Speaker 6: Sure.
• 38:54
  Speaker 2: Why can't I do that?
• 38:56
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 38:57
Speaker 6: Well, but they do do that.
• 38:58
Speaker 7: The funny thing about what you said is they do
• 39:00
Speaker 7: it when they call it DEI. When they say that
• 39:03
Speaker 7: they only want to hire people who look a certain way,
• 39:06
Speaker 7: regardless of who's more qualified for it, that's fine as
• 39:09
Speaker 7: long as you call it the right thing.
• 39:11
Speaker 6: That's not even DEI.
• 39:13
  Speaker 2: That's not even DEI. That's D-U-M-B.
• 39:15
  Speaker 6: That's true.
• 39:16
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 39:17
Speaker 6: It is dumb. But it's more than just dumb.
• 39:20
Speaker 7: The funny thing about it is they do it in
• 39:22
Speaker 7: reverse of what You and I might complain about they
• 39:26
Speaker 7: do it where they try to prevent hiring a white
• 39:28
Speaker 7: guy because of his race and hiring somebody else.
• 39:30
  Speaker 2: Else.
• 39:30
Speaker 6: And and that makes the whole.
• 39:33
Speaker 7: Thing that we talk about, much more complicated, where someone
• 39:37
Speaker 7: like me, and Charlie Kirk used to talk about this
• 39:38
Speaker 7: all the time, could legitimately be concerned if you see
• 39:42
Speaker 7: someone of a certain race in a certain job, not
• 39:45
Speaker 7: because you normally would think that that would matter, but
• 39:48
Speaker 7: because you know at certain companies now, people are getting
• 39:52
Speaker 7: hired solely based on race.
• 39:54
Speaker 6: So that entire thought process is in.
• 39:55
Speaker 7: Your brain because of the way they've approached the topic,
• 39:59
Speaker 7: not because of any sort of inherent racism.
• 40:01
  Speaker 6: Or In me.
• 40:02
Speaker 7: It's so interesting the way that they turn it from
• 40:04
Speaker 7: a positive into a negative, and then they claim they're
• 40:07
Speaker 7: doing it for the betterment of society.
• 40:09
Speaker 2: It's horrible. Look, it's really one of the things that
• 40:12
Speaker 2: bothers me the most. Trying to hire new people now.
• 40:15
Speaker 2: I'm sure any small business people listening out there, trying
• 40:20
Speaker 2: to hire people, especially in this journalism world, right? is really,
• 40:25
Speaker 2: really hard. Now, you know, with TV, obviously I was
• 40:29
  Speaker 2: on TV.
• 40:30
Speaker 6: We got the bump playing, by the way.
• 40:31
Speaker 2: Sorry. Well, we'll talk more about that one.
• 40:33
Speaker 7: In TV, Wayne was in TV. He'll talk about his
• 40:36
Speaker 7: experience there in just a bit.
• 40:37
Speaker 6: It's KACV Mornings. Craig Collins, Wayne Del Trofino, The Voice

• 40:54
Speaker 7: support for their staff, and they're looking for someone who
• 40:57
  Speaker 7: has a high.
• 40:58
  Speaker 6: Level of discretion.
• 41:01
Speaker 8: Social media responded with, is Monica Lewinsky available?
• 41:04
Speaker 17: Who the hell would sign up for this job?
• 41:07
Speaker 1: Bill Clinton was quoted as saying, what'd I do? Chris
• 41:10
Speaker 1: X Radio, weekdays 4 till 6, right here on The

• 41:21
Speaker 10: how can you tell who you can trust? Always look

Speaker 4: You know, where we go in life matters and what
• 41:33
Speaker 4: we do matters. And we know that taking the wrong

Speaker 4: road won't produce the best outcomes. Hi, I'm Kathy with

• 41:44
Speaker 4: live in a world of information overload, but always consider

Speaker 4: the source, and these are not generally going to be
• 41:50
Speaker 4: from your big bank or a random offer that comes
• 41:53
Speaker 4: across your screen. Remember, you're always going to get a
• 41:56
Speaker 4: better deal on one that you go looking for than
• 41:58
Speaker 4: one that comes looking for you. You need to deal
• 42:00
Speaker 4: with somebody who gives a you-know-what, whether or not you're
• 42:03
Speaker 4: happy in the end. At Baker Mortgage, we do it right.
• 42:07
Speaker 4: We haven't been around for 68 years because we're lucky.

• 43:03
Speaker 7: KSEV 700 AM, the voice of Texas. This is your
• 43:08
Speaker 7: KSEV morning show. Wayne is dancing to the music. My
• 43:11
Speaker 7: name is Craig Collins. He is Wayne Dolcefino.
• 43:13
Speaker 6: I like to say your name, by the way. I
• 43:15
Speaker 6: don't let you say it enough, do I?
• 43:17
Speaker 2: You know what my name means?
• 43:18
Speaker 6: What does it mean? Dolcefino?
• 43:20
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 43:21
  Speaker 18: No.
• 43:22
Speaker 6: Dolce is sweet, isn't it?
• 43:24
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 43:25
  Speaker 6: Okay, I don't know what's... No, it's Fino.
• 43:26
Speaker 2: Fino is fine. Dolce Fino is sweet and fine.
• 43:29
  Speaker 5: Oh, nice.
• 43:30
Speaker 6: Look at you. You're sweet and fine.
• 43:31
Speaker 2: I used to tell all the ladies I was sweet
• 43:33
Speaker 2: and fine. Speaking of the ladies, so when I was
• 43:37
Speaker 2: in TV, I obviously am very attractive, as you can tell.
• 43:45
Speaker 2: And when I got hired in TV, I was actually
• 43:48
Speaker 2: the antithesis of what TV people were, right? They didn't sweat.
• 43:53
Speaker 2: They always had their hair done nice and shaved. And
• 43:57
Speaker 2: I was like a You know, I tape on my glasses.
• 44:00
Speaker 2: I didn't wear socks and underwear half the time. I mean,
• 44:03
Speaker 2: I was a mess. OK. And they put me on TV. But,
• 44:07
Speaker 2: you know, they hired pretty women. Of course.
• 44:10
  Speaker 11: Right.
• 44:11
Speaker 2: Of course. TV did. Right.
• 44:12
Speaker 6: It still does that.
• 44:13
Speaker 2: But no, not as much. Oh, really? And I'm not
• 44:16
Speaker 2: going to call out names. Sure. But there are some
• 44:19
Speaker 2: people I see on local TV and I go, what
• 44:23
  Speaker 2: the hell?
• 44:24
Speaker 6: Yeah, but there are some good-looking ones that are also
• 44:27
  Speaker 6: on local TV.
• 44:28
Speaker 2: Okay. But my point was, is that fair? Is that legal?
• 44:33
  Speaker 6: No, probably not.
• 44:33
Speaker 2: Should that be against the law? In Chicago, I suggest
• 44:37
Speaker 2: the mayor also say, and we only want really hot
• 44:41
Speaker 2: women on the staff. Sure. Right?
• 44:45
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 44:46
Speaker 2: That if you have, you know, not to call it anything,
• 44:49
Speaker 2: if you have some whatever, I don't want them. Right.
• 44:53
  Speaker 11: Right?
• 44:53
Speaker 2: Now, when someone applies for a job here, I like
• 44:58
Speaker 2: to know what they look like. Not because I'm going
• 45:01
Speaker 2: to say, but I also like to know disabilities. Yeah.
• 45:07
Speaker 6: I think you should be able to know that.
• 45:09
Speaker 7: And we were talking about that in the last break
• 45:11
Speaker 7: where you said some employees will call in sick a lot.
• 45:14
Speaker 7: I think there's got to be a barometer where if
• 45:16
Speaker 7: they're calling in sick every Monday, you do get to
• 45:20
Speaker 7: know what the problem is. And you do get to
• 45:21
Speaker 7: know if it's fake or if it's real. Because it
• 45:24
Speaker 7: can't be this serious of an illness, and you have
• 45:28
Speaker 7: no idea what it is. Like, they can't.
• 45:30
Speaker 2: Put the bottle down on the weekend. You know what
• 45:32
  Speaker 2: I mean?
• 45:33
Speaker 6: That could be the illness. Stop being hungover.
• 45:35
Speaker 7: By the way, I found a list of the top
• 45:36
Speaker 7: ten hottest female reporters in Houston.
• 45:39
Speaker 6: I don't know if we should do this list, but
• 45:41
Speaker 6: I did find one.
• 45:41
Speaker 2: Dude, it's your show. I'm just visiting.
• 45:45
  Speaker 6: Well, it's not.
• 45:45
Speaker 7: This isn't our topic. We didn't write the list. All
• 45:48
Speaker 7: I'll tell you is who came in at number one.
• 45:50
Speaker 7: Danielle Guzman was number one on this list.
• 45:52
Speaker 2: Yep. She'd be number one on my list.
• 45:56
  Speaker 6: That's just, yeah.
• 45:57
  Speaker 2: Who's number two?
• 45:58
Speaker 6: Number two is Jessica Wiley. I think this was made
• 46:00
Speaker 6: in 2025. That's what it says.
• 46:03
Speaker 2: Jessica really is a really good reporter at 13.
• 46:05
Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't even know who that was.
• 46:07
Speaker 2: I really like her. Yeah. And who's number 10?
• 46:12
Speaker 6: All right. Let's do it.
• 46:13
Speaker 7: Again, this is not our list. This is Houston Press's list.
• 46:17
Speaker 7: They put it together. Andrea Wynn is number 10 on
• 46:20
  Speaker 7: the list.
• 46:21
  Speaker 2: Okay. I like that. Who's number 97?
• 46:23
Speaker 6: I only got the top 10.
• 46:26
Speaker 2: I think they should put the ugliest ones, too. I
• 46:29
Speaker 2: think there should be a list. Sure. And you should
• 46:33
Speaker 2: be like 912. Yeah.
• 46:36
  Speaker 10: Right.
• 46:36
Speaker 2: And I know who it is.
• 46:38
  Speaker 6: Here's the thing.
• 46:38
Speaker 7: I was I was just thinking about something because you
• 46:40
Speaker 7: were saying like where we hire people. When I was
• 46:42
Speaker 7: working at a radio station in Chicago, we hired this
• 46:45
Speaker 7: woman as an intern that definitely wanted to be in
• 46:48
Speaker 7: TV and not in radio. But the radio gig was
• 46:51
Speaker 7: the one that was available. And she was incredibly attractive.
• 46:54
Speaker 6: I remember like she'd walk around. Everybody would stare at her.
• 46:57
Speaker 7: And the funniest part about it is we tried so
• 47:00
Speaker 7: hard to benefit as a radio station from having a
• 47:03
Speaker 7: really good looking lady. As part of our group, like
• 47:05
Speaker 7: she was on all the social media videos, but there's
• 47:08
Speaker 7: only so much value in our world to someone that
• 47:11
Speaker 7: looks really good. So inevitably she moved on to the
• 47:14
Speaker 7: TV and wound up being very successful. But it was
• 47:16
Speaker 7: just funny to have like one person in our atmosphere
• 47:20
Speaker 7: that was the same as those other media places, because
• 47:22
Speaker 7: in radio, not as important.
• 47:24
Speaker 2: And did you harass her?
• 47:26
Speaker 7: I personally did not. Our boss kind of did, but
• 47:29
Speaker 7: he got away with it. Yeah, a little bit.
• 47:31
Speaker 2: Because back then, things weren't as sensitive, right?
• 47:35
  Speaker 6: They were not.
• 47:35
Speaker 2: Like, if you told someone, hey, you're really pretty, let's
• 47:39
Speaker 2: go out and have a drink sometime.
• 47:41
  Speaker 4: Right.
• 47:41
Speaker 2: You know, now, like, you know, you'd get indicted and
• 47:44
Speaker 2: put on CNN, and they would say... Accused of sexual misconduct.
• 47:49
  Speaker 11: Yes.
• 47:49
Speaker 2: Just because I thought a woman was pretty and said, hey,
• 47:51
Speaker 2: let's go hang. Well, yeah.
• 47:53
Speaker 7: And honestly, this was only like 20 years ago, and
• 47:55
Speaker 7: he did way more than just telling that he wanted
• 47:57
Speaker 7: to have a drink with her.
• 47:58
Speaker 2: It's all part of the deterioration of our culture. Wow.
• 48:01
Speaker 2: That we get in trouble now if we say, hey,
• 48:06
Speaker 2: you look really great today. Yeah. Right? Like, I tell my,
• 48:09
Speaker 2: I never tell a male employee he looks good. Okay? Sure.
• 48:12
Speaker 2: So I do understand there are some snowflakes in my company. Yeah.
• 48:17
Speaker 2: that think it's inappropriate for me to say, you look
• 48:21
  Speaker 2: really pretty today. I don't know. I'm sure it's a
• 48:25
Speaker 2: violation of some law, right? I'm sure I'm harassing you.
• 48:28
  Speaker 6: It shouldn't be.
• 48:29
Speaker 2: I never tell a guy, you look really handsome. That's
• 48:33
  Speaker 2: because I'm a guy. Yeah.
• 48:36
Speaker 6: That makes sense, by the way.
• 48:37
Speaker 2: I wouldn't do that. There's some things in my world
• 48:41
Speaker 2: that just seem logical, and because I don't care about
• 48:43
Speaker 2: offending people, Yeah. There are some people I'd want to
• 48:46
Speaker 2: offend this morning if we have some time.
• 48:49
Speaker 7: By the way, let's get to Marco real quick. We
• 48:51
Speaker 7: have a caller that called in. Marco wants to talk
• 48:53
Speaker 7: about women. And actually, I'm going to have to turn
• 48:56
Speaker 7: this up to make sure that Wayne hears this.
• 48:58
Speaker 6: But go ahead, Marco. What do you want to say?
• 49:00
  Speaker 10: Yeah.
• 49:00
Speaker 8: Hey, Bob, guys. For a lot of years, it sort
• 49:04
Speaker 8: of fell by the wayside. But for about 15, 20,
• 49:06
Speaker 8: 25 years, they would always circulate these sets of pictures
• 49:11
Speaker 8: that the Why is it that all the good-looking women
• 49:14
Speaker 8: in politics are Republicans and all the Democrats are ugly?
• 49:17
Speaker 8: And they modify slides. but you'd have the usual suspect,
• 49:22
Speaker 8: and then it would slightly change. But it always did
• 49:24
Speaker 8: seem that that was the case, that the Republican women
• 49:26
Speaker 8: that were out there, whether they were on shows or
• 49:30
Speaker 8: something like that, not necessarily newscasters.
• 49:32
Speaker 6: The Republican women were hotter. Just say it, Marco. That's fine.
• 49:34
  Speaker 10: Yes.
• 49:35
  Speaker 2: Yeah. That's it.
• 49:36
Speaker 8: I mean, I'm sure you guys remember that that was circulating, too.
• 49:39
Speaker 8: But why did it always seem to all the big
• 49:41
Speaker 8: spokespersons and all that? Yeah, they were, you know, good
• 49:44
Speaker 8: looking women. But the Democrats seem to be, you know,
• 49:48
Speaker 8: kind of sort of. In some cases, why is that?
• 49:53
Speaker 2: So, look, I will congratulate Marco on an accurate observation.
• 49:58
Speaker 2: I have been to a number of conventions, both Republican
• 50:03
Speaker 2: and Democrat, and I will say. that while there are
• 50:07
Speaker 2: some really cool women I've met at Democratic conventions, a
• 50:11
Speaker 2: lot of the sort of– how do I say this
• 50:14
Speaker 2: without offending? Oh, I don't care. The women that are
• 50:18
Speaker 2: all like– they're better, they have blue hair, and they
• 50:23
Speaker 2: don't shave their arms and all this kind of stuff.
• 50:26
Speaker 2: There are more of those at the Democratic convention. There
• 50:29
Speaker 2: are– if you're a little bit of a freak, you
• 50:32
Speaker 2: probably– Don't go to the Republic.
• 50:34
Speaker 7: Well, and this is the thing. And Wayne is saying it. Marco,
• 50:36
Speaker 7: you probably think it, too. Like, they're kind of proud
• 50:39
Speaker 7: of it. Some of those women who don't shave and
• 50:42
Speaker 7: like have all the armpit hair and stuff, they're proud
• 50:45
Speaker 7: of that. They think that that's somehow subverting something in society. So, yeah,
• 50:50
Speaker 7: there's a lot of ladies on the Democratic side of
• 50:52
Speaker 7: the aisle that I think could look nicer. And they
• 50:55
Speaker 7: choose not to for some sort of weird reason.
• 50:58
Speaker 2: Does it matter to you in politics, Marco, if a
• 51:01
Speaker 2: woman is good looking or not?
• 51:02
  Speaker 6: Do you care?
• 51:04
Speaker 8: Not really, no. That's the point. If they're bringing a proper.
• 51:08
Speaker 7: Yeah, he's still there. No, Marco's still here with us. Here, Marco,
• 51:10
Speaker 7: go ahead and say that again so that he can
• 51:11
Speaker 7: actually hear you say it.
• 51:13
Speaker 8: Yeah. No, I mean, the main thing is what they're espousing.
• 51:17
Speaker 8: In other words, if what they're talking about has merit.
• 51:20
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 51:21
Speaker 8: And that's the main thing about it. It's just like
• 51:22
Speaker 8: in any business, too, not just in politics, but that it's, yeah,
• 51:28
Speaker 8: if you're selling a product or service or things like that,
• 51:31
Speaker 8: You know, you've got to be well-versed in it. You
• 51:33
Speaker 8: know what? You're not just trying to use your good
• 51:35
Speaker 8: looks to sell something that's not there or whatever. That's all.
• 51:40
Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, Mark, I'll say one other thing. It's sort
• 51:43
Speaker 2: of like the person that's the front. We used to
• 51:45
Speaker 2: have a person at the front that did administrative stuff,
• 51:48
Speaker 2: production stuff, whatever. And we're looking for somebody, by the way.
• 51:53
Speaker 2: I'm looking for a lot of people. But do I
• 51:56
Speaker 2: want Jabba the Hutt?
• 51:59
Speaker 6: At the front of your business.
• 52:00
Speaker 2: The first person they see is Jabba the Hutt, right?
• 52:04
Speaker 2: But isn't that against the law? Aren't I supposed to
• 52:07
Speaker 2: be fair and equal? And if Jabba the Hutt applies
• 52:11
Speaker 2: and nobody else applies, should I hire Jabba the Hutt,
• 52:16
Speaker 2: the most unattractive being in the world, to be at
• 52:20
Speaker 2: the front, the first person you see?
• 52:22
Speaker 6: A great question, Marco. We're about to run out of time.
• 52:24
Speaker 6: Thank you for calling in, buddy. That was great.
• 52:27
Speaker 7: And to answer Wayne's question, I'll go ahead and do it.
• 52:30
Speaker 7: You shouldn't have to hire Jabba the Hutt. You shouldn't
• 52:32
Speaker 7: have to hire her at all, especially if the funniest thing, too,
• 52:35
Speaker 7: sometimes I think is those individuals who apply for that
• 52:38
Speaker 7: job are also terrible at being friendly, which is the
• 52:41
Speaker 7: other aspect that you need for that job. Like they're
• 52:43
Speaker 7: not only is it that they look horrible, but their
• 52:46
Speaker 7: attitude is also kind of horrible.
• 52:48
Speaker 6: And there's there's no redeeming quality of the individual.
• 52:51
  Speaker 8: You're right.
• 52:53
Speaker 2: I think we should get rid of all these laws.
• 52:55
Speaker 2: Let people hire who they want. Sure. If you want
• 52:57
Speaker 2: to have, you know, 900 Somalians on welfare working for
• 53:03
Speaker 2: your place, I think you should be able to do it. Sure. Yeah.
• 53:07
  Speaker 6: I think that's fine. I don't know why, why we wouldn't.
• 53:09
  Speaker 6: All right.
• 53:10
Speaker 2: All right. Who else can we offend? Can I, can
• 53:14
Speaker 2: I mention, I'm not even sure where it works, but
• 53:16
Speaker 2: I was driving. I'm going to tell you about this
• 53:19
Speaker 2: story that it isn't serious, but, I was driving to
• 53:23
Speaker 2: hold a press conference in College Station the other night
• 53:26
Speaker 2: for a 22-year-old kid named Caden Crow. Great, great kid.
• 53:30
Speaker 2: Sounds like a really, really special boy who got shot
• 53:34
Speaker 2: to death by his drunk roommate who was playing with
• 53:36
Speaker 2: a gun at 3.30 in the morning. Wow. And I
• 53:39
Speaker 2: think the kid should have been charged, right, so to
• 53:41
Speaker 2: teach him a lesson. And he wasn't. And we'll get
• 53:44
Speaker 2: into that in a minute. But on the way there,
• 53:47
Speaker 2: I have a little bit of a lead foot. And
• 53:49
Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I was hanging out. I was
• 53:52
Speaker 2: actually looking for a cigarette.
• 53:53
Speaker 7: Oh, here, we got to go. We're up against the break.
• 53:55
Speaker 7: But you will finish that story.
• 53:57
Speaker 10: I'll tell you the rest of the story.
• 53:58
Speaker 7: You will finish that story after the break. KSEV Mornings,
• 54:01
Speaker 7: the voice of Texas. He is Wayne Dolcefino. I like
• 54:04
Speaker 7: saying his name, even though he can say it, too.
• 54:06
Speaker 7: I am Craig Collins.
• 54:08
Speaker 6: Back after this. There was no turning back.
