- 1:48Speaker 8: Well done, Duce.
- 1:49Speaker 5: That sounded like a fred One diner.
- 1:50Speaker 4: What's up?
- 1:51Speaker 5: Everybody? Welcome in, Patrons and Filter. Don't worry. Fred will
- 1:53Speaker 5: be here.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You just got to put up with a few minutes
- 1:55Speaker 1: at Deuce holding up, holding the fort until the big
- 1:57Speaker 1: boss man.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Let's go. Let's go.
- 1:59Speaker 5: It's Thursday.
- 2:00Speaker 1: We got picks, we got Alex, we got Evan, we
- 2:03Speaker 1: got Paul induce, Fred will be here.
- 2:06Speaker 4: We got picks, we got picks, got a hurry.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We got a bunch of injuries along the offensive line,
- 2:11Speaker 1: not good, but which is probably a great place to
- 2:13Speaker 1: kind of kick the show off. I'm sure Fred will
- 2:15Speaker 1: have some thoughts to share. But their whole offensive line
- 2:19Speaker 1: they all got the flu. No, they all have concussions
- 2:21Speaker 1: or hamstring injuries or I mean it's I think Evan,
- 2:25Speaker 1: you tweeted out hard for City so and Trent Brown
- 2:29Speaker 1: to get out of concussion protocol in time for this game, right,
- 2:32Speaker 1: So I mean, it's it's realistic that those two are
- 2:35Speaker 1: going to be out this weekend.
- 2:36Speaker 8: So I did some I did some research on this
- 2:39Speaker 8: last night, and the average concussion recovery time to get
- 2:44Speaker 8: out of protocol last year. I didn't do this all
- 2:47Speaker 8: research myself. I've read an article about it was nine days.
- 2:51Speaker 8: Nine days to get out of protocol. So basically, you
- 2:55Speaker 8: miss one game and then maybe you can come back
- 2:58Speaker 8: for the game the following week. That seems more realistic.
- 3:01Speaker 8: The Patriots put all the players the Patriots put on
- 3:04Speaker 8: concussion protocol last year, none of them played in the
- 3:07Speaker 8: following game. So basically I would prepare from this point on,
- 3:12Speaker 8: like the Patriots are not gonna have Trent Brown on Sunday.
- 3:15Speaker 5: What do he got?
- 3:15Speaker 7: Okay, so let's operate under that premise. Okay, because you can't,
- 3:18Speaker 7: I gotta get you can't speculate on a concussion, right,
- 3:21Speaker 7: So let's operate under the premise. No Trent Brown, no City.
- 3:24Speaker 7: So what do we think the starting line looks like?
- 3:28Speaker 1: All right, let's go left to right. How about Calvin Anderson.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We're gonna swap Calvin Anderson over to the left side.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I want to start with that. That's a logical move,
- 3:36Speaker 1: Antonio Maffi. He can stay there right if Strange can't go.
- 3:40Speaker 1: David Andrews we think can go Hamstering though.
- 3:42Speaker 7: He plays, He's gonna say he plays as long as
- 3:46Speaker 7: he has the leg is intact.
- 3:47Speaker 5: We're all crossing fingers from Michael on Win. You at
- 3:50Speaker 5: right guard. But perhaps James Fernce maybe gets promoted. I
- 3:52Speaker 5: don't know.
- 3:53Speaker 1: He didn't get promoted last week. Some people saying he
- 3:54Speaker 1: was like a coach on the sideline kind of thing
- 3:56Speaker 1: going on last week. I'm not sure what's going on there,
- 3:59Speaker 1: but I'll otherwise, you're looking at Jake Andrews, Cody Russie,
- 4:02Speaker 1: perhaps Jake.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Andrews Roosti, both centers, both centers. Yeah. Uh, and then
- 4:09Speaker 5: that leaves our right tackle spot. So that means one
- 4:12Speaker 5: of the new games kind of spin in the dice.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Witherian Low, Tyrone, Evan, what if you.
- 4:18Speaker 7: Noticed a practice.
- 4:22Speaker 8: The four minutes that we have it, I would say
- 4:25Speaker 8: I would. I would lean towards Vaderian Low, just because
- 4:29Speaker 8: he has just attack.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Category Tyrone.
- 4:34Speaker 3: On Tuesday at a community event and he was telling
- 4:37Speaker 3: the kids.
- 4:38Speaker 10: They were asking your favorite football memory, and he literally
- 4:40Speaker 10: was like, oh, yeah this Sunday, that was my first
- 4:43Speaker 10: time getting in an NFL game.
- 4:44Speaker 5: That's true.
- 4:45Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I would, I would lean towards. But I
- 4:48Speaker 8: like your idea of flipping Calvin Anderson, who I actually
- 4:50Speaker 8: thought was serviceable in the game on Sunday, all things considered,
- 4:54Speaker 8: going up against two really good edge rushers. No training
- 4:57Speaker 8: camp came in and didn't allow us act and most
- 5:01Speaker 8: of the pressures that he gave up were late in
- 5:03Speaker 8: the game when he conditioning was probably a pretty big
- 5:06Speaker 8: factor for him, So I thought that early on he
- 5:09Speaker 8: was really really good in that game.
- 5:12Speaker 7: Yeah, I like, I like Evan's projected lineup. That's probably
- 5:16Speaker 7: where I would go. And I guess if if Strange
- 5:20Speaker 7: can play and you get strange and when you back,
- 5:23Speaker 7: I don't know, Like Mafi hasn't played any tackle or
- 5:27Speaker 7: or any center even right now, so like I guess,
- 5:31Speaker 7: you know, obviously he's an extra. He's an extra guy,
- 5:35Speaker 7: which is good because like he, like Evan just said,
- 5:38Speaker 7: with Calvin Anderson having to go oh eighty snaps, you
- 5:41Speaker 7: wouldn't have to do that to could strange and to
- 5:43Speaker 7: when you can just keep rotating Mafi in anytime you want.
- 5:47Speaker 7: But the tackle situation, I think, I think you're probably
- 5:51Speaker 7: gonna see Vederian.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Low where they get concussed too. That's, you know, kind
- 5:54Speaker 5: of weird.
- 5:54Speaker 1: You don't usually see they finished the game and then
- 5:57Speaker 1: all of a sudden Wednesday they got concussions.
- 5:58Speaker 8: Sometimes you don't realize.
- 6:01Speaker 7: You come in on Monday, you say I got a
- 6:02Speaker 7: headache or whatever, I don't feel I'm not feeling great.
- 6:04Speaker 7: And that's when you end up.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Might think, did you get concussed this weekend? Not really?
- 6:08Speaker 5: Do you have a headache?
- 6:09Speaker 8: Yeah, But like I tested, I tested negative for COVID.
- 6:12Speaker 8: Nobody works but my head like it's like in the cloud.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Like I think the Patriots are playing a little chest
- 6:22Speaker 4: checkers with the Dolphins. Oh, put a couple of guys
- 6:24Speaker 4: on concussion. Just make to a think about it.
- 6:29Speaker 7: Awesome on the other side of the ball.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Get that word out there, Get the word out there.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Just hearing a lot about concussions this week. I don't
- 6:37Speaker 1: know to this, but maybe we should see it.
- 6:39Speaker 4: What are your thoughts?
- 6:40Speaker 7: So it's a it's a violent game, bro, you might
- 6:42Speaker 7: want to rethink it.
- 6:43Speaker 8: God, people are going to think we're like making fun
- 6:45Speaker 8: of to his injuries.
- 6:46Speaker 1: No, I would never do that, although I'm scared of him.
- 6:50Speaker 5: What was what Tommy current saying that?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Like he's basically thinks Mac Jones and Two are the
- 6:54Speaker 1: same player, Like, did you guys see that one night
- 6:56Speaker 1: on one of Paul's to those kinds of your shows,
- 6:58Speaker 1: Paul and when it's on.
- 6:59Speaker 7: That's not But that used to be one of my shows.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Now they no longer one of the other shows.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Now I haven't been on that regularly a little bit.
- 7:06Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I I pushed back on that a little bit. I
- 7:08Speaker 1: think I think Two has shown a little more than Max.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Uh.
- 7:11Speaker 7: I think that I don't think that that story's closed.
- 7:14Speaker 7: Like I was asked that yesterday on one of my shows.
- 7:18Speaker 7: I would say right now two has done more. But
- 7:21Speaker 7: but I don't think that that book is closed. That's
- 7:24Speaker 7: still ongoing.
- 7:25Speaker 4: And two has been healthy. That offense does well, particularly
- 7:30Speaker 4: after they you know, they got Hill and.
- 7:32Speaker 7: Wada, but even before that.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Even before that, when he was healthy, they did well,
- 7:38Speaker 4: you know. And now the argument has been, well, if
- 7:42Speaker 4: you got Matt to elite receivers, he'd be good. To yes,
- 7:46Speaker 4: he would be better. I don't know if he'd be
- 7:49Speaker 4: as good as to what has been with those guys.
- 7:53Speaker 4: I'm telling you he's he's surprising a lot of people.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I mean, I just speaking for myself, and I've limited Sam. Besides,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I haven't watched all the two of snoups, but he's
- 8:02Speaker 1: made more wow throws to me in my sample size
- 8:04Speaker 1: of saying, I haven't really seen that those kind of
- 8:07Speaker 1: things consistently from maxim only Max had some plays, but
- 8:10Speaker 1: I've had a more than a handful of times with
- 8:12Speaker 1: two of It's just like wow.
- 8:13Speaker 4: That was wow to have a sense of you know,
- 8:18Speaker 4: making big plays. And you know I mentioned I put
- 8:20Speaker 4: him in the same breath yesterday as Drew Brees. I
- 8:23Speaker 4: don't do that lightly like Drew Brees. A hall of famer,
- 8:26Speaker 4: you know.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so stayed healthy other than that injury. Yeah, so
- 8:30Speaker 1: that's the right thing, Like he's got to stay out there.
- 8:32Speaker 4: But I see the same type of player, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 4: like not a not a big arm, not a tall guy,
- 8:38Speaker 4: not but he gets it where its tos amazingly mobile.
- 8:42Speaker 4: But they just have that great anticipation they see the
- 8:45Speaker 4: field and really good accuracy makes up for everything else.
- 8:49Speaker 8: Yeah, the game that to have played on Sunday was ridiculous.
- 8:52Speaker 8: I mean he was making throws, all different types of throws.
- 8:55Speaker 8: There's a couple of throws that I just found myself saying,
- 8:59Speaker 8: I just I don't know if Mac can make that throw,
- 9:01Speaker 8: you know, moving to his left obviously he's a leftist,
- 9:03Speaker 8: so moving to his left and then throwing off platform
- 9:06Speaker 8: on the run, or stepping up in the pocket and
- 9:09Speaker 8: coming to the second read and throwing it you know,
- 9:11Speaker 8: off platform again to Tyreek Hill on a wheel route.
- 9:14Speaker 8: Like those types of throws that are when things are
- 9:17Speaker 8: not you know, there's a muddy pocket or he's on
- 9:19Speaker 8: the move, like I don't see. I think two has
- 9:22Speaker 8: a much better instinct for that type of playmaking than
- 9:26Speaker 8: that Mac does. I think Mac might be a little
- 9:28Speaker 8: bit better pre snap than Tua of figuring out where
- 9:32Speaker 8: he's going to go with the ball before the ball
- 9:34Speaker 8: is snapped. But in terms of actually making throws down
- 9:37Speaker 8: the field and doing it not always from the perfect conditions,
- 9:41Speaker 8: I think that Tua has him pretty.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Good on that. So if he can stay healthy, I
- 9:47Speaker 4: think he's going to have a pretty good career.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Yeah. Hopefully not this weekend though. Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 4: Right, but you know, I don't know what you guys,
- 9:54Speaker 4: but we just opened the offensive lines. Yeah, we ran
- 9:56Speaker 4: down and that's a tough one. Yeah, that's a tough one.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I mean, you asked the question, can they patch it
- 10:02Speaker 4: together if and when you and Strange are not coming
- 10:05Speaker 4: back and you've got Trent Brown out with a no.
- 10:08Speaker 4: The answer is no, It's gonna be a long day
- 10:11Speaker 4: for the offense. So I hate to say it.
- 10:15Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, what we came up with was at
- 10:19Speaker 7: least one of those two guys comes back, Strange and
- 10:21Speaker 7: when if they both out, then you're looking at Russy
- 10:25Speaker 7: or Jake Andrews having to play, right.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, they played Russy a little bit at GARB when
- 10:29Speaker 1: they were trying to feel things out in camp, you
- 10:32Speaker 1: know a little bit.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and we don't know what David ans Drews has
- 10:35Speaker 4: a hamstring, Like now, you could probably as a lineman
- 10:39Speaker 4: play with that, but I don't know how that's going
- 10:41Speaker 4: to hamper them.
- 10:42Speaker 8: I just wonder, either on one Who or Stranger Bowls,
- 10:46Speaker 8: like how close were they in week one? And was
- 10:48Speaker 8: that a situation where they said it's a long season,
- 10:51Speaker 8: well let's not push it, or this.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Game in week two is more important than week one.
- 10:56Speaker 8: Well it's a divisional game, so right off the bat,
- 10:58Speaker 8: I think it is more important, and unfortunately went for
- 11:02Speaker 8: better or worse. I guess if those guys are ninety
- 11:05Speaker 8: five percent and you're down all these other you know, no,
- 11:08Speaker 8: so no trend kind of have to play now like
- 11:11Speaker 8: you kind of do have to push the envelope a
- 11:13Speaker 8: little bit on it. So I think that that's the
- 11:16Speaker 8: situation that they're in. I mean, I don't need to
- 11:18Speaker 8: go down the road of like oh in two teams
- 11:20Speaker 8: and like you know, all the metrics that tell you
- 11:22Speaker 8: that even just starting oh in two basically sinks you
- 11:25Speaker 8: in a hole that some teams can't come out of.
- 11:27Speaker 8: So I think it is a big game that if
- 11:30Speaker 8: they're ninety plus percent healthy, but they're not one hundred
- 11:33Speaker 8: percent healthy that you might have to push it with
- 11:35Speaker 8: strange you don't want to.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so that's yeah, I can understand why you
- 11:41Speaker 4: would start the show talking about that, because that's that's
- 11:43Speaker 4: the big story right now.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Yeah, And that was the big change from when we
- 11:47Speaker 7: had our show yesterday and when we got the injury report,
- 11:50Speaker 7: because I don't think any of us, obviously Trent Brown
- 11:53Speaker 7: was on the radar because we knew he wasn't out there.
- 11:55Speaker 7: But you know, concussion not being out there.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Is different than yeah, right, well, I mean that's I
- 12:01Speaker 1: mean average almost it almost means he's definitely not going
- 12:04Speaker 1: to play, whereas if it was just like Andrews and well,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I mean Andrews was out there.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Anytime, a guy's not out there Wednesday, and.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I think that, you know, if they do come back
- 12:12Speaker 4: in various stages of health. I think getting Devonte Parker
- 12:16Speaker 4: back is important too, because you're gonna be under pressure,
- 12:19Speaker 4: You're gonna have to get the ball away quick and
- 12:21Speaker 4: throwing it up on a fifty to fifty ball might
- 12:24Speaker 4: be part of the necessity. And having a guy that
- 12:28Speaker 4: can win those is going to be important.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Still still limited, right, he was still on them, still
- 12:32Speaker 5: on report limited.
- 12:33Speaker 7: With knee, but I mean having you know, not the
- 12:36Speaker 7: channel bill, but you know, we would like to have
- 12:38Speaker 7: all our players, and I think that every healthy body
- 12:41Speaker 7: helps counts.
- 12:42Speaker 8: I think that there's like a bigger picture conversation that
- 12:45Speaker 8: Devonte Parker moves the needle so much for the Patriots,
- 12:48Speaker 8: but DeVante Parker moves the needle right right to say,
- 12:51Speaker 8: you look at three targets for kaishon Booty in that
- 12:55Speaker 8: game last week, that if Parker is on the other
- 12:58Speaker 8: end instead of kaish On Booty, I have to think
- 13:00Speaker 8: that they're completed.
- 13:01Speaker 3: You have to think they win the game.
- 13:02Speaker 10: I mean, I obviously missed the Eagles digestion from earlier
- 13:07Speaker 10: in the week, but to me, that was all I
- 13:09Speaker 10: could think about.
- 13:10Speaker 5: He would have come through it with a couple of plays.
- 13:11Speaker 5: I mean, he always, he always does.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But unfortunately he's also always battling injuries, it seems, so
- 13:17Speaker 1: it's kind of the battle of of him.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Yep, yep. What else, huh, Dolphins injuries.
- 13:25Speaker 1: ID I'm trying to I'm trying to recall, do you
- 13:27Speaker 1: Moster didn't practice.
- 13:29Speaker 7: Everybody else was at least.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Limit their offensive lineman.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Definitely, that's a big one. He's got everything. He's one
- 13:37Speaker 7: of those guys. He has multiple injuries. You know how
- 13:40Speaker 7: we like to say, you know, is anything not? Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 7: he's got back what is it?
- 13:45Speaker 5: Guy here?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Back?
- 13:47Speaker 5: Ankle, knee, ankle, knee and nothing.
- 13:50Speaker 7: So he was limited and evidently he had a chance
- 13:53Speaker 7: to play last week he didn't and their line held
- 13:56Speaker 7: up pretty well. I mean, I don't know how much
- 13:58Speaker 7: pressure to was under in the he was not sacked. Yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 7: So I think that's going to be a part of
- 14:04Speaker 7: this game pass rush for the Patriots, and can they
- 14:08Speaker 7: do it without necessarily selling out because obviously there was
- 14:12Speaker 7: a and they were playing this on the radio yesterday.
- 14:15Speaker 7: I think it was on Monday's press conference with Bill
- 14:20Speaker 7: It might have been yesterday's I don't remember. But about
- 14:23Speaker 7: you know, if you if you, if you pressure him,
- 14:25Speaker 7: you better get there. And I think that's really true
- 14:27Speaker 7: against the team like this. I think that's a big
- 14:30Speaker 7: part of their success with Tyreek Hill is that they're
- 14:32Speaker 7: able to devote a lot of bodies there and if
- 14:35Speaker 7: you're having to sell out to get after Tua, yep,
- 14:38Speaker 7: that takes some of those bodies away.
- 14:39Speaker 5: How important you feel like the middle.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Defending the middle of the field against this team is
- 14:42Speaker 1: because I just I feel like so much of their
- 14:44Speaker 1: damage is just catch and run onlike.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Dig route slants.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I mean, just that and they catch it and they're
- 14:50Speaker 1: off to the There was one you probably saw it, Evan,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know, one of the all twenty two people had
- 14:55Speaker 1: to play from last game where San Diego had three
- 14:58Speaker 1: got three six you know, three guys high.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, and it looked like they were giving
- 15:05Speaker 4: Miami the middle of the field. But obviously somebody was
- 15:09Speaker 4: gonna come down and take whoever was going to go
- 15:10Speaker 4: into that zone. And Tua saw it. He saw that
- 15:13Speaker 4: that middle wasn't gonna be there. Stepped up on the
- 15:16Speaker 4: run through to a one on one hill down the
- 15:18Speaker 4: sideline for like forty five yards, you know, talking, Yeah,
- 15:23Speaker 4: that might have been that.
- 15:25Speaker 8: That was the best star I've ever seen to of make.
- 15:28Speaker 7: Yeah, that's not an easy throw, but that don't That
- 15:30Speaker 7: wasn't his first read.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I don't think. No, it was.
- 15:32Speaker 8: No, it wasn't. And that was like Alabama pre hip injury,
- 15:36Speaker 8: you know, like that. That's I think what impressed me
- 15:38Speaker 8: so much about Sunday was the zippiad on the football
- 15:41Speaker 8: off platform. I haven't seen that from Tua since he
- 15:44Speaker 8: got hurt at Alabama with the hips, but it feels like.
- 15:46Speaker 1: That's the stuff you got to I mean, he certainly
- 15:48Speaker 1: is capable of doing it, but that's I feel like
- 15:50Speaker 1: where you got to make him go, you know, don't
- 15:54Speaker 1: give him I mean, look at the Wattle fourth down
- 15:56Speaker 1: play last year in Week one. You know it's those
- 15:58Speaker 1: kind of things where you miss and tackle it's six you.
- 16:01Speaker 8: Know, yeah, yeah, they So since the beginning of last year,
- 16:06Speaker 8: Tua is by far the best quarterback in the league
- 16:09Speaker 8: against single high coverage like you play cover one, Cover
- 16:12Speaker 8: three against Miami. He's a sixteen to one touchdown to
- 16:15Speaker 8: interception ratio against Cover one.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So why is that though, Like I mean it's specifically
- 16:20Speaker 1: man coverage or just having one deep safety he's able
- 16:22Speaker 1: to hit the sideline.
- 16:23Speaker 8: Yeah, I think it's you know, they have two guys
- 16:25Speaker 8: that can beat man coverage, and if you have one
- 16:28Speaker 8: single high safety, probably have some sort of robber in
- 16:31Speaker 8: the middle of the field. But you can't. You're not
- 16:33Speaker 8: really helping to both guys, right, and you can't leave
- 16:36Speaker 8: Tyreek one on one with no help over the.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Top unless unless you know you're gonna get there quick
- 16:42Speaker 4: against You know you're gonna get to to a quick
- 16:45Speaker 4: But that's a tough task. Yeah, you know the Patriots
- 16:49Speaker 4: are gonna have to give up yards. They just can't
- 16:52Speaker 4: keep up in chunks.
- 16:53Speaker 7: If the big play it.
- 16:55Speaker 8: If I was them, and this is what I kind
- 16:56Speaker 8: of wrote about in my game plan, I would let
- 16:59Speaker 8: him run it, like if you if you're gonna so
- 17:03Speaker 8: you can play the two high safeties and not you
- 17:07Speaker 8: know not, you don't even have to play to Wattle's
- 17:09Speaker 8: gonna run. Someone's gonna run acrosser, all right. It's either
- 17:11Speaker 8: gonna be Wattle or it's gonna be Hill. But somebody's
- 17:13Speaker 8: gonna run across er. And somebody's gonna run a vertical.
- 17:16Speaker 8: That's like their whole offense. So if you play the
- 17:18Speaker 8: two high safeties and you either rotate one into the crosser,
- 17:21Speaker 8: you keep both of them deep, it's gonna invite the
- 17:25Speaker 8: run like you're gonna you're gonna have lighter boxes. But
- 17:28Speaker 8: if two was handing the ball off, I think that's
- 17:30Speaker 8: a win. Like just so I would you can. I
- 17:35Speaker 8: wouldn't call a double team both Hill and Wattle, but
- 17:38Speaker 8: you can help to both hill and waddle, so that
- 17:41Speaker 8: way there it's easier for the corners to cover them
- 17:44Speaker 8: in single coverage and then just let them run the ball.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Well, this defense, you know, the personnel packages that they
- 17:50Speaker 4: throw out the Pagets look considerably different than what they
- 17:55Speaker 4: did with the Eagles, because the Eagles have two pretty
- 17:59Speaker 4: good receivers too.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I don't I mean, I don't know about considerably different.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I mean maybe the way they use their personnel a
- 18:04Speaker 1: little bit. I mean, I think to Evan's point, are
- 18:05Speaker 1: you going to go a little bit lighter? And if
- 18:07Speaker 1: you do go lighter, does that mean I mean lighter
- 18:09Speaker 1: on the back end. Do you want to go more
- 18:10Speaker 1: heavy upfront to balance that off where you're you know,
- 18:13Speaker 1: going with like guy Gotchaw wise up front, or do
- 18:15Speaker 1: you you know, do you continue to go towards Christian
- 18:18Speaker 1: Barmore and Keon White and you know, just go light
- 18:21Speaker 1: all around the board and just say, hey, we're coming
- 18:23Speaker 1: for you with Barmore in a quality and uh and
- 18:26Speaker 1: key On White and you know, we're not going to
- 18:28Speaker 1: really play Gotchaw and guy and as much.
- 18:31Speaker 7: Maybe make him throw it to the tight ends and stuff,
- 18:33Speaker 7: make them throw it to the guys they don't want
- 18:35Speaker 7: to throw it to I think they've done that a
- 18:37Speaker 7: little bit. I think they did it in the opener
- 18:39Speaker 7: last year down there. You know, obviously Tyreek Hill still
- 18:44Speaker 7: had he got his game. But you know you're gonna
- 18:48Speaker 7: you're not gonna get really hurt by you know, derham
- 18:52Speaker 7: smythe and Raheem Moster. I mean, I think those guys
- 18:55Speaker 7: are dangerous, don't get me wrong, but I don't think
- 18:57Speaker 7: they're going to do enough damage to beat you. If
- 19:01Speaker 7: you can contain the other two. And I mean it's
- 19:04Speaker 7: a big task, but I would expect a lot of
- 19:06Speaker 7: bodies around those I'd expect a lot of zones mixed
- 19:09Speaker 7: in with the man. I know they played what do
- 19:11Speaker 7: you think did you have any breakdown zone? Many year
- 19:15Speaker 7: seemed like no, I mean, I mean last week seemed
- 19:18Speaker 7: like maybe like that.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Don't know, they were high in zone.
- 19:21Speaker 8: Yeah, they played a lot of zone.
- 19:22Speaker 7: Yeah, but I think maybe like forty sixty something like that. Yeah,
- 19:26Speaker 7: I'm man zone.
- 19:28Speaker 8: I think we were like people. I think that like teams
- 19:31Speaker 8: play like eighty percent of man coverage. No defense plays
- 19:34Speaker 8: the majority of their snaps in man coverage. Any no, no, no, no,
- 19:37Speaker 8: So every chance you obviously always favor zone. Last year
- 19:41Speaker 8: against Miami in both games, even without two. In the
- 19:44Speaker 8: second game, the Patriots played a ton of zone coverage,
- 19:46Speaker 8: like seventy five percent of their snaps are in zone coverage,
- 19:49Speaker 8: and they just they just sagged off soft zone coverage
- 19:52Speaker 8: and its underneath, take it underneath and tack week. You
- 19:56Speaker 8: know that that was pretty much the game plan in
- 19:59Speaker 8: both matchups. I would expect a ton of own coverage
- 20:01Speaker 8: again in this game.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Yep, okay eight five five Pats five hundred is the
- 20:06Speaker 4: ACE ticket hotline, web radio at Patriots dot com is
- 20:10Speaker 4: the email address. We've got picks later, So we have
- 20:14Speaker 4: to hurry. Show within a show they're going to be
- 20:17Speaker 4: giving away T shirts today.
- 20:18Speaker 5: Great guests today, great guests. You guys are gonna be
- 20:21Speaker 5: listened to it. Okay, okay, well, I don't know you
- 20:25Speaker 5: want to tell Shall we tell him? Who was? It was?
- 20:27Speaker 5: Me and Evan?
- 20:28Speaker 4: Oh?
- 20:29Speaker 8: So you I guess we are going to know.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Wow. So it's not even a show within a show,
- 20:32Speaker 4: it's just a show.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Well Tis was saying, it's kind of like inception where
- 20:35Speaker 1: it's like show within a show within a show.
- 20:37Speaker 8: So you know what reality are we really in we
- 20:39Speaker 8: decided that I was Leo and he was Tom Hardy
- 20:41Speaker 8: in case you were wondering it.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Was bold with it.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Let's see. Okay, so let's get to some emails because
- 20:51Speaker 4: this first half of the show we gotta make hay
- 20:53Speaker 4: with our listeners. David and Bethlehem writes in he says
- 20:57Speaker 4: he has a pet peeve. Wide receivers are not it
- 21:00Speaker 4: for balls that hit their hands and result in interceptions
- 21:03Speaker 4: or for running wrong routes that caused them. I'm ready
- 21:06Speaker 4: for Evan and Paul to opine.
- 21:09Speaker 5: That's true, they're not.
- 21:11Speaker 7: But I mean if it's a drop, they're credited with
- 21:13Speaker 7: a drop, right, But like like Kadarius Tony and the
- 21:16Speaker 7: opener was credited with a drop on that pick, but
- 21:18Speaker 7: it still is an interception.
- 21:19Speaker 5: For Patrick Maulmes, if this is like.
- 21:21Speaker 4: It's not it isn't fair. I mean, like Burrow had
- 21:24Speaker 4: one that went right off.
- 21:25Speaker 7: Yeah, but where does it stop. Do you not credit
- 21:27Speaker 7: the guy for a completion when the guy makes a
- 21:29Speaker 7: ridiculous catch? No, you do credit credit I know, but
- 21:33Speaker 7: like it all evens out.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess I like that.
- 21:36Speaker 8: Plus, if we're like saying that absolve Mac Jones of
- 21:38Speaker 8: the Kendrick Bourne interception that.
- 21:41Speaker 5: I wouldn't put it on Kendrick Bourne.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Frendrick.
- 21:46Speaker 8: I'm just saying that I've heard that and like, oh,
- 21:48Speaker 8: hit him in the hands, Like yeah, I mean it's
- 21:51Speaker 8: six ft over.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Yea and.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Rainstorm.
- 21:56Speaker 7: I think I think those kinds of things generally. I
- 21:58Speaker 7: mean it might be in option wise and maybe it
- 22:01Speaker 7: doesn't even know, but I think there's plenty of times
- 22:03Speaker 7: in the game where the receiver makes a really good
- 22:05Speaker 7: catch that, you know, like the hunter Henry one on
- 22:07Speaker 7: fourth like not.
- 22:09Speaker 5: Give back a half completetion?
- 22:11Speaker 7: Should you take that completion away and call it a
- 22:13Speaker 7: fourth down?
- 22:13Speaker 5: Stop it? You know?
- 22:16Speaker 4: Uh Speed writes in He says dolphins are horrible creatures.
- 22:20Speaker 4: The male bottle tracks engage in multi day gang rapes
- 22:23Speaker 4: and brutally kill baby porpoises and even commit in fantaside
- 22:27Speaker 4: against their own young Everyone who opposes such behavior should
- 22:30Speaker 4: be rooting for the Patriots this Sunday.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Well, I don't oppose that. I love I love this one.
- 22:36Speaker 7: We get we get this every year. And I never
- 22:38Speaker 7: knew anything.
- 22:38Speaker 5: I never knew.
- 22:39Speaker 7: I never knew any of it until until I was.
- 22:46Speaker 5: I was thought.
- 22:46Speaker 7: Dolphins were like these gentle creatures who used to like
- 22:48Speaker 7: it can be very visual, steer like humans out of
- 22:52Speaker 7: danger when.
- 22:52Speaker 5: You get dolphin.
- 22:54Speaker 8: But what did you say?
- 22:58Speaker 3: In sixth grade was actually assaulted ming with dolphins and
- 23:00Speaker 3: was sexually assaulted by dolphin.
- 23:02Speaker 8: Wow, dolphins.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Sorry, jess Omo Collin if you're listening.
- 23:06Speaker 8: Yeah, so you know, like, can you get like the
- 23:08Speaker 8: cans of soda or beer for Paul? You know you
- 23:11Speaker 8: have like the the circles right, I'm sorry, I just
- 23:15Speaker 8: you know, like the plastic right like that? They yeah, yeah, yeahah,
- 23:19Speaker 8: so like you know you're supposed to except for the
- 23:23Speaker 8: and I'm going to leave them closed now. So one
- 23:25Speaker 8: time start cutting them up into and jess was like
- 23:28Speaker 8: what are you doing? And I was like, oh, like
- 23:29Speaker 8: for the dolphins. She was like, screwed the dolphins, like
- 23:31Speaker 8: they're terrible.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I had no.
- 23:33Speaker 7: Idea the PF. I almost called the PFW in progress
- 23:37Speaker 7: PU listeners.
- 23:38Speaker 1: All right, I got to remember this illustrated that from
- 23:41Speaker 1: twenty My wife, huge dolphin fan, has a not dolphins dolphin,
- 23:45Speaker 1: has a dolphin tattooed to dolphin research in college. She's
- 23:48Speaker 1: very dolphiny. So I'm going to have her tune into
- 23:50Speaker 1: this and and give her dolphin opinion.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Relatedly, there here's a news flash. Christian Barmore is about
- 23:56Speaker 4: to drop a big iron balls in the field and
- 23:59Speaker 4: crush me into a vapor cloud of dolphin. I would
- 24:03Speaker 4: love love that. Dolphins I heard of Dolphins podcast mentioned
- 24:08Speaker 4: the Chargers had nothing approaching a Barmore like presence in
- 24:11Speaker 4: the middle, and also noting the Patriots Dolphins matchup in
- 24:14Speaker 4: the Brian Flores era average two point two possessions fewer
- 24:18Speaker 4: than the league average, suggesting a relatively defensive affair. But honestly,
- 24:22Speaker 4: my optimism for Barmore this week is purely emotional, and
- 24:28Speaker 4: so I turned to your earnest evaluation. Is this a
- 24:30Speaker 4: good spot for Barmore to burst nuts like an aggressive.
- 24:35Speaker 7: But don't, don't, don't lea. What was the the possession thing?
- 24:40Speaker 7: I was curious about that.
- 24:42Speaker 4: During Flora's two point two less possessions.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Why why are we doing the Flora's era.
- 24:47Speaker 4: I don't know that's what he did.
- 24:49Speaker 5: They were all close games.
- 24:50Speaker 8: I guess no, they were not close games, but it
- 24:52Speaker 8: doesn't but like it's two years removed.
- 24:54Speaker 7: Yeah, this is McDaniel's second year. Flora's is like in Minnesota.
- 24:59Speaker 8: And they could not be more different in terms of
- 25:01Speaker 8: how they script the game, right.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they've just been weird games too, like like I
- 25:05Speaker 1: don't know, going back and looking at some of them,
- 25:07Speaker 1: like the Damien Harris fumble that when they were going
- 25:09Speaker 1: into score in twenty twenty one where they probably would
- 25:11Speaker 1: have won.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Fumbled Damien Harris, Damien Harris, Damien Stevenson. No, I thought
- 25:17Speaker 5: Deamian Harris in that game.
- 25:19Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it was Stephenson fumbled in that game too.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Then I blocked that one ou because he's still on.
- 25:23Speaker 7: Because he's still on the team. Yeah, I get it.
- 25:26Speaker 7: Fred Fred Totty.
- 25:28Speaker 4: From the Bills Junior from Canton writes in my question
- 25:32Speaker 4: is more for Paul, because I never know how he
- 25:35Speaker 4: truly feels about this offense outside of Mac. Maybe it's
- 25:38Speaker 4: because anytime someone criticizes the weapons, I hear someone mutter
- 25:42Speaker 4: teflon Mack away from the mic.
- 25:44Speaker 7: It's not away from the Mac. I went away from
- 25:46Speaker 7: the mic.
- 25:46Speaker 4: So my question would be, how good does Paul think
- 25:48Speaker 4: this team would be this season if we had a
- 25:50Speaker 4: top five quarterback instead of Mac? How would how good
- 25:55Speaker 4: would they be if we had a top ten quarterback.
- 25:58Speaker 4: I just want to nail down how Paul feels about
- 26:00Speaker 4: the offense around Mac, because to me, he seems to
- 26:03Speaker 4: be unable to criticize the weapons without a snarky shot
- 26:06Speaker 4: at Mac, which is fine, by the way, I love
- 26:09Speaker 4: the great White snark, but it makes it difficult to
- 26:12Speaker 4: understand his level of concern for each issue separately.
- 26:16Speaker 7: I mean, right now, the offensive line is an issue
- 26:18Speaker 7: that's a concern, and that's that's not a Teflon con
- 26:23Speaker 7: like you're down. I mean theoretically you could be down
- 26:26Speaker 7: for offensive linemen. That's that's a big deal. Okay, so
- 26:30Speaker 7: that's not a tech. I'm talking at relative health. I
- 26:34Speaker 7: think if you had like Mahomes was the quarterback, or
- 26:37Speaker 7: Josh Allen was the quarterback, or Joe Burrow was the quarterback,
- 26:40Speaker 7: you'd be much more productive. Oh yeah, yeah, He asked,
- 26:44Speaker 7: if there's a top five quarterback, how would you feel
- 26:46Speaker 7: about it? I say, I think they'd be fine. I
- 26:48Speaker 7: think they'd be one of the more productive offenses in football.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I think if Kirk Cousins was the quarterback, I think
- 26:53Speaker 4: we'd be bad.
- 26:55Speaker 11: You might be better, But right now that's kind of
- 26:57Speaker 11: the Yeah, that's how I say, Matt's never going to
- 27:01Speaker 11: be as good as Kirk Cousins, but in this stage
- 27:03Speaker 11: of their career right now, if Kirk Cousins had a
- 27:06Speaker 11: whole offseason with this team, they'd be in better shape.
- 27:09Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's hard. It's hard to like quantify exactly
- 27:12Speaker 7: how good. But I think that they would be a
- 27:14Speaker 7: very productive offense consistently because I think Bill O'Brien does
- 27:17Speaker 7: a good job of just like I thought Josh did
- 27:20Speaker 7: two years ago. You know, obviously they weren't as good
- 27:22Speaker 7: last year with guys that were out of position calling
- 27:26Speaker 7: the plays. I think they'd be better if they had
- 27:28Speaker 7: a better quarterback. I mean that, I don't think that's
- 27:31Speaker 7: all that controversial.
- 27:32Speaker 8: I think the biggest thing is is I keep going
- 27:36Speaker 8: back to, is like, what's elevating the offense right now
- 27:39Speaker 8: other than O'Brien, who I think is But I don't
- 27:43Speaker 8: think that the receivers are difference makers, and I don't
- 27:46Speaker 8: think the quarterbacks a difference maker. So if you put
- 27:48Speaker 8: a difference maker in at quarterback, then I think it
- 27:50Speaker 8: would be better.
- 27:51Speaker 5: It would make a difference.
- 27:52Speaker 8: If you put a difference maker in at receiver, I
- 27:53Speaker 8: think it would be better right.
- 27:55Speaker 4: So that's a good right.
- 27:57Speaker 7: But the reason like when I when I talk about
- 27:59Speaker 7: it like that, it's not like I don't think that
- 28:01Speaker 7: they I just feel like the success they had was
- 28:04Speaker 7: based off of some adjustments on Sunday, and all of
- 28:08Speaker 7: a sudden they started springing guys open. Now I don't
- 28:10Speaker 7: know enough about all of the exes and notes to
- 28:13Speaker 7: tell you exactly what everything was.
- 28:15Speaker 8: Who is not related to the Patriots at all, but
- 28:19Speaker 8: the Red Sox have fired Heim Blue.
- 28:21Speaker 7: I thought there was a chance the way people were
- 28:23Speaker 7: talking yesterday, I thought there was a chance that some
- 28:25Speaker 7: of those guys knew something. The way they were talking. Wow,
- 28:28Speaker 7: that's adding Peter Abraham's do something much for.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Like being happy the way he's building the farm system, right, you.
- 28:35Speaker 8: Know Boston Sports News.
- 28:39Speaker 7: But the whole thing was getting at offensively.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I'm open for the job if they want to hire.
- 28:44Speaker 10: I hope he goes scorched your analyst.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Guy, No, no, no, I just feel feel for the baseball.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I'm just an old baseball guy, you know, go back
- 28:52Speaker 4: to the old ways, no more moneyball.
- 28:59Speaker 7: So you think this is anything John Henry related.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Or obviously John Henry made the decision.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Do you think hein Bloom operated the last three and
- 29:08Speaker 7: a half years because that's the way John Henry wanted
- 29:10Speaker 7: him to do it, and confirmed.
- 29:12Speaker 10: I shared a nice drink or I didn't share a
- 29:15Speaker 10: drink with him, but met a guy that.
- 29:17Speaker 8: Worked in the farms with John Henry.
- 29:19Speaker 10: That formerly worked for the Red Sox knows him very well.
- 29:23Speaker 4: And that was so he goes.
- 29:26Speaker 7: So John Henry was the one who decided to like
- 29:29Speaker 7: play Adam Duvall.
- 29:31Speaker 5: So John Henry did that.
- 29:33Speaker 10: No, but make the trades, build the team this way.
- 29:36Speaker 10: Run it like a poverty franchise.
- 29:38Speaker 7: See the poverty thing I can live with. He didn't
- 29:40Speaker 7: have to sign the shoemakers that he signed, like I
- 29:45Speaker 7: think he's like, oh for his Red Sox career in transaction,
- 29:48Speaker 7: so I don't think that. I think they signed like
- 29:51Speaker 7: one quote and then the one guy that they actually
- 29:53Speaker 7: won on they sold for nothing in the Hunter reflant.
- 29:57Speaker 4: So would this guy say that hein Bloom is being
- 29:59Speaker 4: done dirt?
- 30:00Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm according to this guy who works in a
- 30:03Speaker 10: farm system for interesting for someone in I'll just say
- 30:07Speaker 10: it the Raise farm system. So they're very familiar with
- 30:10Speaker 10: the Red Sox. He was like, this was him's dream job.
- 30:12Speaker 10: He's a local guy, like he came in here bushy
- 30:15Speaker 10: eyed or bushy tailed, wide eyed, and he's just kind
- 30:19Speaker 10: of taken the bad rap for everything he was told.
- 30:22Speaker 4: To do they and the way to do it.
- 30:24Speaker 7: I mean, I think he was told to pay payroll.
- 30:26Speaker 7: I don't think he was told to bring in bad players.
- 30:28Speaker 8: If he was given a if he was given a budget.
- 30:32Speaker 8: But the but and I fully they're like what I think,
- 30:35Speaker 8: middle of the table in terms of spending in MLB,
- 30:38Speaker 8: which is a spending league, Like that's you know, there's
- 30:40Speaker 8: no cap, so it's a spending league. But at the
- 30:43Speaker 8: end of the day, Paul's right. I mean, it's not
- 30:46Speaker 8: like they didn't spend on certain plays, like Justin Turner
- 30:48Speaker 8: is making decent money and he's he was a good
- 30:50Speaker 8: pick up. Like I don't agree, but fall on that,
- 30:52Speaker 8: like Justin Turner was a good taker, Yoshida was. I
- 30:56Speaker 8: ended up they've been ended up being one hundred percent
- 30:58Speaker 8: right about Yoshida. But what I wonder about with the
- 31:01Speaker 8: Red Sox is like, are they going to hire like
- 31:03Speaker 8: a Dombrowski type that's going to go out and spend
- 31:06Speaker 8: three hundred million dollars on a rough season or well,
- 31:09Speaker 8: I directed I heard.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I heard they might try to bring THEO back.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Or is it another been around?
- 31:14Speaker 10: When I went to I went to do the first
- 31:17Speaker 10: pitch with Cardona on what is it Patriots Day, THEO
- 31:21Speaker 10: was chilling in the back, like hanging out in the
- 31:24Speaker 10: front offices. I was like, that's literally THEO epscene right there.
- 31:27Speaker 10: So he's around.
- 31:28Speaker 5: So I heard.
- 31:30Speaker 7: But I heard about THEO yesterday a little bit, and
- 31:33Speaker 7: that he's looking for like whatever the what he's looking
- 31:38Speaker 7: for in salary, like this is like ten million a
- 31:40Speaker 7: year or whatever, plus point points with the team so
- 31:45Speaker 7: car ownership. Yeah, he's looking for a lot.
- 31:47Speaker 8: So I I wonder if if the Red Sox are
- 31:51Speaker 8: going to pull a Celtics Alex Korra up to GM
- 31:55Speaker 8: new manager.
- 31:56Speaker 7: In for hour, that's what is going to happen if
- 31:58Speaker 7: THEO doesn't come.
- 31:59Speaker 8: I think that that's wheelhouse, you think, I think. I
- 32:03Speaker 8: was like, I didn't know if it was in Brad's wheelhouse.
- 32:06Speaker 8: And he's done a pretty good job with the Sultan genius.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Though I don't know nothing against Cora, but like he
- 32:11Speaker 3: just seems like such a like a a player's guy.
- 32:13Speaker 8: You know it just seems like this year for Cora,
- 32:15Speaker 8: and I get it because they were losing a lot.
- 32:18Speaker 8: So definitely like the day to day grind of managing.
- 32:21Speaker 8: I think his press conference, you.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Don't like if you're constantly in disagreement with your GM,
- 32:27Speaker 4: it makes it tough. Yeah, but I don't know, we digress.
- 32:30Speaker 7: Yeah, well, no, it's interesting, interesting Boston stuff. But yeah,
- 32:34Speaker 7: I mean, uh, back to the offense for the Patriots, Yeah,
- 32:39Speaker 7: I mean, I just feel like if they had a
- 32:41Speaker 7: guy that could make some plays, they wouldn't have to
- 32:43Speaker 7: always rely on scheme to get things going. Yeah, That's
- 32:48Speaker 7: that's sort of the way I feel.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I was just some of the I guess the reporting
- 32:53Speaker 1: from Andrew Callahan this morning that people within the organization
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't see Juju as a top what three four receiver?
- 33:00Speaker 8: I think they said, I think they he said that
- 33:02Speaker 8: they think he's the fifth Beth Room, fifth best receiver
- 33:06Speaker 8: and not guess I don't.
- 33:08Speaker 3: He wasn't on the injury report yesterday.
- 33:09Speaker 7: No, no, And I thought that was interesting that he
- 33:12Speaker 7: was not even listening.
- 33:13Speaker 10: The way Bill is speaking in the press conference, you
- 33:15Speaker 10: could have almost I would have given you my right pinky.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I mean, like, yeah, he's going to be on the jury.
- 33:20Speaker 8: So what I worry about?
- 33:21Speaker 4: What juju take that?
- 33:23Speaker 5: Is it pretty good?
- 33:24Speaker 8: Is it an Edelman situation where like the knee is
- 33:27Speaker 8: just never going to get better and it's all about.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Bone on bone pain tolerance?
- 33:30Speaker 3: Ready is the term ready to explode at any second?
- 33:34Speaker 7: Ready to explode?
- 33:35Speaker 8: Because because like if he's if he's injured, or if
- 33:38Speaker 8: it's it's the knee is bothering him, then like why
- 33:41Speaker 8: not just put him on I R for a month
- 33:43Speaker 8: and see if he can.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Come back, because it's not going to get better.
- 33:45Speaker 8: But if it's not going to get better, then that
- 33:47Speaker 8: just got to.
- 33:49Speaker 4: Drop.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Not what they needed if they if they if they
- 33:52Speaker 1: had an epic miss on this guy, that is not
- 33:54Speaker 1: what they needed.
- 33:55Speaker 7: So what if what if Parker is back and is
- 34:00Speaker 7: he an active juju?
- 34:03Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 34:03Speaker 1: No, probably between him and I would think Booty would
- 34:07Speaker 1: him or Booty.
- 34:08Speaker 7: They both played on Sunday and Booty played twice as
- 34:11Speaker 7: many plays.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Well, Booty's got a hamstring too, Okay, okay, maybe so healthy?
- 34:16Speaker 8: Maybe I don't know if Booty has a hamstring.
- 34:18Speaker 7: I mean, if if.
- 34:19Speaker 5: We're dragging his foot to try to stand bounds, he
- 34:22Speaker 5: pulled it.
- 34:22Speaker 7: I mean, if we're looking at this like objectively and
- 34:26Speaker 7: at face value, he's not on the injury report and
- 34:30Speaker 7: a report comes out sort of the same day that
- 34:34Speaker 7: they don't consider him the first, the second, the third,
- 34:38Speaker 7: you know, like then you're considering him behind everybody that's
- 34:42Speaker 7: on the roster. Yeah, that's why I'm asking, is he
- 34:45Speaker 7: going to be an active on Sunday?
- 34:46Speaker 8: Possible that? Like I said, if it's an Edelman situation
- 34:50Speaker 8: where he's never going to get better and it's just
- 34:51Speaker 8: a pain tolerance management, then I guess it doesn't really
- 34:54Speaker 8: behoove them to put him on IR like sit him
- 34:56Speaker 8: down for a couple of weeks, but I would at
- 34:58Speaker 8: least try that. I mean, so early in the year,
- 35:00Speaker 8: it's not you have a long way to go here.
- 35:02Speaker 8: And if you put him down for you know, four
- 35:05Speaker 8: weeks on I R and then he comes back on
- 35:08Speaker 8: Halloween and it plays well down the stretch, like, then,
- 35:11Speaker 8: what difference did it really make that he wasn't in absolutely?
- 35:15Speaker 1: I mean I wonder if they said we shut him
- 35:16Speaker 1: down in the spring, we didn't want to see him
- 35:18Speaker 1: till July.
- 35:19Speaker 5: To try to get the healthy and it still is
- 35:22Speaker 5: what he's doing, so what good is it?
- 35:23Speaker 4: Right?
- 35:24Speaker 9: No?
- 35:24Speaker 7: Maybe you know, like we gave him all that time
- 35:26Speaker 7: off and then he didn't learn the system and whatever.
- 35:28Speaker 1: There's just no juice there. There's that don't haven't been
- 35:30Speaker 1: any juice there all summer.
- 35:31Speaker 4: With him juju interesting interesting to see how that unfolds,
- 35:35Speaker 4: Uh Colin in Kansas City. Fred's right, I do, I
- 35:38Speaker 4: do come here for a safe place. Turns out he
- 35:42Speaker 4: has a feel for the league and the show callers.
- 35:44Speaker 7: He definitely has a feel for the league.
- 35:45Speaker 4: I come to pee you both to process our wins
- 35:47Speaker 4: and our losses, strengths and weaknesses. I listened to this
- 35:50Speaker 4: over Paul Show because I know I'm going to get
- 35:52Speaker 4: both sides. I do want to say that I think
- 35:56Speaker 4: it's way too early to say, like Mike, I won't
- 35:58Speaker 4: forget you, Brady, do so are coming home to roost?
- 36:01Speaker 4: I think it's easy to poke holes in Bill's team
- 36:04Speaker 4: building strategy, but let's at least give it a few
- 36:07Speaker 4: weeks to say nothing is changing. It's a new season.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Are you willing to give them a fresh start and
- 36:13Speaker 4: save the team building roster woes for the off season
- 36:15Speaker 4: or are we eliminated from the playoffs. I'm personally optimistic
- 36:19Speaker 4: that we might have some young players on both sides
- 36:22Speaker 4: worth keeping and developing, and I'm eager to see if
- 36:24Speaker 4: Matt can show us something. I'm not ready to call
- 36:27Speaker 4: this season a bust.
- 36:28Speaker 8: No one called it a bus, but like, if that's
- 36:30Speaker 8: enough for you, then that I'm not going to argue
- 36:32Speaker 8: with you.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Then I like, cool, Like, Alex, are you ready to
- 36:34Speaker 7: call the season the bus? Now?
- 36:35Speaker 3: I think I came in for the optimism today.
- 36:38Speaker 7: Okay, so no one on this show is ready to
- 36:40Speaker 7: call it and coming home to roost.
- 36:42Speaker 1: That comment was in regards to the offensive line, which
- 36:45Speaker 1: I mean, I stand.
- 36:46Speaker 4: For not getting it.
- 36:47Speaker 1: They didn't address it enough. They I mean, they invested
- 36:49Speaker 1: in veterans who are now hurt and not and haven't
- 36:52Speaker 1: been reliable over the coast of you know. So I
- 36:55Speaker 1: stand by that point. I don't think the offense overall.
- 36:57Speaker 1: The other thing I would say is coming to roost
- 36:58Speaker 1: is just the drafting in general from seventeen eighteen, nineteen
- 37:02Speaker 1: twenty two. Like, you know those drafts now they don't
- 37:05Speaker 1: they don't get the players that they need right now.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Sean from Princeton, West Virginia have a question for our film,
- 37:11Speaker 4: Guy Evan the Misunderstood Lazarre, thank you. After watching the film,
- 37:15Speaker 4: what do you think the Dolphins weaknesses and how could
- 37:17Speaker 4: the Patriots exploit it?
- 37:19Speaker 8: Like the defense of the Dolphins, I assume is what
- 37:21Speaker 8: he's talking about in terms of weaknesses. I think that
- 37:24Speaker 8: for right now, the biggest thing that I saw is that,
- 37:27Speaker 8: like Fangio is a great defensive coordinator, but they're in
- 37:30Speaker 8: the very very infant stages of adopting his type of defense,
- 37:35Speaker 8: like that defense has been in the Brian Flores Patriots
- 37:39Speaker 8: style of defense, single high man to man blitz, like
- 37:42Speaker 8: they they're playing a totally different type of defense now.
- 37:45Speaker 8: And I think that there were some true growing pains
- 37:48Speaker 8: on the film against the Chargers. So my whole thing,
- 37:51Speaker 8: I would just stress them mentally, like motion, change the
- 37:55Speaker 8: formation on them, run all those bunch and stack alignments
- 37:58Speaker 8: with the option routes, and you know, let's see, can
- 38:01Speaker 8: they cover you know, a three by one bunch? Like
- 38:03Speaker 8: do they know how who's supposed to be on who
- 38:05Speaker 8: and who's supposed to be where? And can they cover misdirection?
- 38:08Speaker 8: Can they cover that type of stuff that takes as
- 38:10Speaker 8: simon sound football to do.
- 38:12Speaker 1: And try to get him now because they're gonna get
- 38:14Speaker 1: better and you see at home they're gonna.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Be And by the way, I don't think I mentioned it,
- 38:19Speaker 4: but I don't think Weather's going to be a factor. Actually,
- 38:23Speaker 4: great Dan gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous middle.
- 38:28Speaker 7: Of the field. I always like to attack against a
- 38:30Speaker 7: lot of defenses, but I think that's what Mac does best.
- 38:33Speaker 7: And I think it puts a little more pressure on
- 38:37Speaker 7: if Evan's right and they're not really you know, got
- 38:40Speaker 7: all their assignments down yet, you know, no Jalen Ramsey,
- 38:42Speaker 7: So that's obviously a big They wanted to improve that secondary.
- 38:45Speaker 7: They weren't able to get him back for the first
- 38:47Speaker 7: half of the season. I think Howard's a really good player.
- 38:50Speaker 7: I don't think he's what he once was. I think
- 38:52Speaker 7: he's sort of slowed down stress them in the middle.
- 38:55Speaker 7: I like the safeties. I will say, yeah, they play.
- 38:57Speaker 4: A lot of.
- 39:00Speaker 8: Ab on Holland, they play a lot of two deep safety.
- 39:01Speaker 8: And when I think is interesting always with the Patriots
- 39:04Speaker 8: is like, why would you play two deep safety against
- 39:07Speaker 8: the Patriots.
- 39:07Speaker 7: It's designed to take away big plays that the Patriots
- 39:09Speaker 7: aren't really interested in trying to get.
- 39:12Speaker 8: But that's fangio system is to play the two deep
- 39:14Speaker 8: safeties and then spin it. And like, does he stick
- 39:17Speaker 8: with that or does he just put seven and eight
- 39:18Speaker 8: guys in the box and say, I know you're not
- 39:20Speaker 8: going to beat me out here.
- 39:21Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 39:21Speaker 3: And like with our offensive line issues, do you kind
- 39:23Speaker 3: of revert back to that blits heavy?
- 39:26Speaker 5: Yeah, you don't have the time to push it down
- 39:28Speaker 5: the field.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Ron in Conway, New Hampshire. I don't think anyone in
- 39:32Speaker 4: football as a fan or not disliked Tyreek more than
- 39:34Speaker 4: I do. I appreciate his skill and talent because he's
- 39:38Speaker 4: so good. Just once, I'd like to see him run
- 39:40Speaker 4: across or and have one of our defensive bats put
- 39:43Speaker 4: a helmet in a shoulder, declete him and flip him
- 39:46Speaker 4: upside down so hard that he vomits up. SnO, I
- 39:49Speaker 4: don't want him to get hurt. I just want him
- 39:51Speaker 4: to shut his mouth. I'm so sick of his stupid comments.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I like Fred hate them. The Dolphins feel like he does.
- 39:58Speaker 4: I feel like he does about the j Anyway, I'm
- 40:01Speaker 4: hoping that we keep the game to a loss of
- 40:03Speaker 4: by less than ten points. I want the Patriots to
- 40:08Speaker 4: get but I just don't see how they win Kill. Like,
- 40:13Speaker 4: here's the thing. Don't like over emphasize week.
- 40:19Speaker 5: One, breaking the fourth wall thread.
- 40:20Speaker 4: It was week one. Don't like just because they scored,
- 40:24Speaker 4: they go went crazy. That means who they are. It's
- 40:26Speaker 4: just week one.
- 40:27Speaker 8: To be fair, Tyre Kills the best receiver in football,
- 40:30Speaker 8: the best in football, best number one receiver in football. Really,
- 40:33Speaker 8: there's nobody that's harder to cover than.
- 40:34Speaker 7: I don't think a lot of people would argue.
- 40:37Speaker 8: Just Devanta Adams and Justin Jefferson have arguments, but in
- 40:41Speaker 8: terms of like who I am most afraid of When
- 40:44Speaker 8: the Patriots going to a game, it's tiring.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Miss tacking.
- 40:49Speaker 4: You know, they put him in motion on like every place.
- 40:52Speaker 8: He has power that nobody else can match. Like, you know,
- 40:56Speaker 8: Devanta Adams has his release package. Justin Jefferson's a smooth
- 40:59Speaker 8: route round her. But like in terms of like superpowers,
- 41:02Speaker 8: like what's what's.
- 41:03Speaker 5: Your best trained changing guy?
- 41:04Speaker 8: Tyreek Killed is untouched?
- 41:06Speaker 5: What does he say?
- 41:07Speaker 4: What is what?
- 41:08Speaker 7: What is the I thought that was going to be
- 41:09Speaker 7: the personally because I hate Tyreek Kill the person, terrible person,
- 41:13Speaker 7: terrible guy. Yeah, I don't really have any problem with
- 41:16Speaker 7: his football. You know, Bravado, I don't really se him talking.
- 41:20Speaker 5: I did see a video clip of uh, I guess.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Welker's the coach the word receivers coaching, and Tyreek had
- 41:26Speaker 1: seen something and and you know they had a successful
- 41:28Speaker 1: play based on that.
- 41:29Speaker 5: Tyreek was like coming over to Welker and you know, saying,
- 41:31Speaker 5: I told you, I told him, like, just tell me everything,
- 41:33Speaker 5: tell me everything.
- 41:34Speaker 9: You know.
- 41:34Speaker 5: It's kind of funny interaction between them. But I don't
- 41:36Speaker 5: know nothing. Nothing really that Tyreek said has bothered me.
- 41:40Speaker 5: It's just his.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Off the field.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Can we get into Stefan Diggs, he's that Diggs brother?
- 41:48Speaker 5: No, wait wait, don't don't or what happened? I know
- 41:52Speaker 5: it's two different things.
- 41:53Speaker 10: You go first, well, incident yesterday where a Bill's team
- 41:56Speaker 10: report was talking about.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Oh I I did see something, yeah, and it had
- 42:03Speaker 4: to issue an apology.
- 42:05Speaker 7: No, it was off the list.
- 42:06Speaker 10: Whoever did her dirty like that? I would if I
- 42:10Speaker 10: were her. I'm fighting that person.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I am losing every ounce.
- 42:13Speaker 10: Of Why would she have to apologize because you take
- 42:17Speaker 10: the quote out of context and you're like, oh, that's.
- 42:20Speaker 3: You actually listen to her and you're like, are you serious?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Who would ever clip this and try to make her.
- 42:26Speaker 7: I think she was done dirty because we've all been
- 42:28Speaker 7: around that podium mic when it's hot and we're all talking,
- 42:31Speaker 7: and she's.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Laughing when she's saying it, she's saying it almost I don't.
- 42:34Speaker 5: I don't buy that part of it.
- 42:36Speaker 3: So that was BS.
- 42:37Speaker 5: I got to listen to it. I got to listen
- 42:38Speaker 5: to it. I heard it. I didn't. I didn't.
- 42:40Speaker 7: I thought the well, I think she was completely done dirty.
- 42:43Speaker 7: And she's been on our show, she's we had her
- 42:45Speaker 7: on the show last year, on our pregame show. I
- 42:48Speaker 7: think she was definitely done dirty. And I've been around
- 42:50Speaker 7: that microphone and said things that I would not want
- 42:53Speaker 7: to be published, and someone's like, no, but seriously, when
- 42:56Speaker 7: you're here, if you say something.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Stupid, at least you know not that.
- 43:00Speaker 7: There was a microphone on that maybe she wasn't thinking about.
- 43:03Speaker 7: And I do think Alex is right about that. I
- 43:05Speaker 7: do also think that's what she thinks.
- 43:08Speaker 5: I thought. I thought the apology was lame.
- 43:12Speaker 12: So brother Diggs was like brother Dick, his brother like
- 43:20Speaker 12: the channels later, absolutely channels later there. So Trayvon said,
- 43:27Speaker 12: my man's not safe there. We got to get him
- 43:29Speaker 12: somewhere safe.
- 43:31Speaker 7: I don't blame that. That's exactly how, exactly how.
- 43:36Speaker 5: The team did.
- 43:37Speaker 7: That's exactly how I would.
- 43:39Speaker 3: And the team and now the brothers like getting out
- 43:41Speaker 3: of there.
- 43:43Speaker 5: Did you see the clip.
- 43:44Speaker 7: To package deal Steph? Did George Pickens? Yeah, get all
- 43:48Speaker 7: the bad guys. According to Mike out, I'll.
- 43:51Speaker 10: Be so nice to you in New England, like, I mean,
- 43:57Speaker 10: it's not the it's something brewing there.
- 43:58Speaker 5: Did you see Diggs go up to afterwards like be smart?
- 44:02Speaker 7: Like he's like like like mcderbertt was doing it was.
- 44:06Speaker 4: I mean, he who the Bills playing this week?
- 44:09Speaker 5: I don't know, Raiders.
- 44:11Speaker 4: If they lose this game, there will be problems.
- 44:13Speaker 8: No, that him going up to him on the sideline
- 44:16Speaker 8: was totally just a teammate like trying to like.
- 44:18Speaker 5: Type this guy.
- 44:19Speaker 7: But the other thing too is I'm going to play
- 44:21Speaker 7: Mike's side of the street. That's because Diggs was a
- 44:23Speaker 7: big part of the game Bigs had. Diggs had a
- 44:26Speaker 7: big game, and I wonder if he goes up to him,
- 44:28Speaker 7: you know, like you know I have I have three
- 44:30Speaker 7: for twenty two and he goes and Josh Allen has
- 44:33Speaker 7: the same game, and you're like what are you doing?
- 44:36Speaker 8: Yeah, but but to be fair, like that the last
- 44:39Speaker 8: drive of the fourth quarter that sent the game into overtime,
- 44:42Speaker 8: it was just Alan the Diggs, Diggs, Alan the Diggs,
- 44:45Speaker 8: And like in my head when I was watching that live,
- 44:47Speaker 8: I was like, Mac two right points.
- 44:51Speaker 4: It should be or you know last year would have
- 44:53Speaker 4: been Myers.
- 44:54Speaker 8: Because that drive.
- 44:56Speaker 7: Although but it's not going to be the same result
- 44:58Speaker 7: as it.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I know, But but you need that one guy who
- 45:01Speaker 4: and who you know, if there's anyone on the Patriots
- 45:03Speaker 4: right now, it's Born.
- 45:04Speaker 8: They didn't score a touchdown and win the game, but
- 45:06Speaker 8: they put it into overtime. And what I thought of
- 45:10Speaker 8: was was Gronk in Pittsburgh right Like it was just
- 45:13Speaker 8: you knew everybody in the stadium knew that he was
- 45:16Speaker 8: going at Gronk. But it didn't matter. They still couldn't
- 45:19Speaker 8: stop get.
- 45:19Speaker 4: About Pittsburgh, Gronk and Denver that year that they lost.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Just put the team on his shoulder.
- 45:26Speaker 8: Any of the times you know that Gronk or even
- 45:28Speaker 8: Edelman and Casey and they like you knew that that
- 45:32Speaker 8: Ellman was going to run across Or and Brady was
- 45:34Speaker 8: going to hit him and you knew that Diggs was
- 45:36Speaker 8: going to run some sort of route on the outside
- 45:38Speaker 8: and Alan was going to hit him. And that's that's
- 45:40Speaker 8: the difference right now between the Patriots and these other teams.
- 45:43Speaker 5: Justin Jefferson last year against the Patriots, Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 4: It's you just can't stop the guys.
- 45:48Speaker 7: So, fred I was just watching some highlights over your shoulder,
- 45:50Speaker 7: you know how, like you talk about like the week
- 45:52Speaker 7: one stuff. You can't get lost in the week one stuff.
- 45:54Speaker 7: You're you're totally right, But like I just look at
- 45:57Speaker 7: the week one stuff like Matthew Stafford stinks you're throwing
- 46:00Speaker 7: for one hundred yards to to two at well and
- 46:02Speaker 7: something named Pooka Nakula. I'm sorry, He's not bad.
- 46:08Speaker 5: I know. He was a really good undrafted, really good undrafted.
- 46:14Speaker 1: All right, he's a system receiver.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Let's go to some phone calls. We'll go to uh Todd,
- 46:21Speaker 4: North Carolina on the A stick and hot line. What's
- 46:23Speaker 4: up Todd.
- 46:25Speaker 9: Let me start by saying, I was trying to be
- 46:27Speaker 9: supportive for you guys last call. I don't know, because
- 46:29Speaker 9: you guys still kind of went a little bit off.
- 46:31Speaker 9: I'm sure I called so apologized, didn't come across right
- 46:35Speaker 9: number two. I think that until I heard about the line,
- 46:38Speaker 9: I was thinking that we actually had a chance to
- 46:40Speaker 9: win this game. I thought we could run the ball
- 46:43Speaker 9: on them and run the ball down their throats. But
- 46:46Speaker 9: I don't know about that now. And my my hope
- 46:50Speaker 9: that what I want to see for this game is
- 46:52Speaker 9: I want to see two turnovers at lead points from
- 46:56Speaker 9: our defense. That's what I think it'll take for us
- 46:58Speaker 9: to win. And that's pretty much. Oh my god, go
- 47:00Speaker 9: Pad seven fins, all.
- 47:05Speaker 5: Rights, they win a game.
- 47:07Speaker 8: That's when they give up twenty five plus points.
- 47:09Speaker 5: They go, there you go, and it happens.
- 47:11Speaker 7: Sometimes I'll do the preemptive strike for Felger and Madison. Well, yeah,
- 47:15Speaker 7: they needed two defensive scores to do it. According to Todd,
- 47:19Speaker 7: he did make that point.
- 47:21Speaker 8: We'll give you the give you some chances, he will.
- 47:23Speaker 4: All right, Paul's foods here, we'll take a break show
- 47:27Speaker 4: within a show, and.
- 47:28Speaker 7: This is Fred's food here. I'm going to break the foot.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Fred come back like I did not get more calls,
- 47:33Speaker 4: promise and emails, and then we've got picks later on.

- 48:43Speaker 8: Am I? Leonardo DiCaprio In this scenario.
- 48:51Speaker 5: But all right, right there, we'll.
- 48:54Speaker 14: Start with some some quick trivia for the ever sought
- 48:58Speaker 14: after Patriots unfiltered T shirt, So let me get it.
- 49:00Speaker 5: Don't answer the questions, guy, Okay, thanks for the reminder.
- 49:03Speaker 14: Question one, who was the long snapper for Adam Vanitari's
- 49:08Speaker 14: game winning kick in Super Bowl thirty eight?
- 49:10Speaker 8: That's a good one.
- 49:11Speaker 5: That's a good one. Good luck everybody.
- 49:14Speaker 8: And question two in thirty eight or thirty six.
- 49:17Speaker 5: Answers already did thirty We did hold their last time.
- 49:19Speaker 14: This is the lost snapper question two, just clarifying exactly
- 49:25Speaker 14: all right, so let me repeat that. Question one, who
- 49:27Speaker 14: was the long snapper for Super Bowl thirty eight for
- 49:29Speaker 14: Adam Venti's game winning kick? Question two? In Super Bowl
- 49:34Speaker 14: twenty versus Chicago Bears, which Patriots scored their only touchdown
- 49:37Speaker 14: of the game.
- 49:39Speaker 8: So if you listen to the tip show, then you
- 49:42Speaker 8: would know the answer.
- 49:44Speaker 14: Question three. What Patriots quarterback led them to their only
- 49:48Speaker 14: two wins in the nineteen ninety two season.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I witnessed that in person and it was pretty painful.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So all the people that are out there complaining about
- 49:56Speaker 1: the Patriots go watch the ninety two season.
- 49:58Speaker 14: And I get back to me. We got me all right, guys,
- 50:03Speaker 14: bad offense. We got a fun topic this week. Week
- 50:07Speaker 14: one is in the books and we are going to
- 50:09Speaker 14: talk about top rookie performances throughout the league. This this
- 50:13Speaker 14: can include Patriots players too, but better, but we will
- 50:17Speaker 14: Uh well, we're just gonna talk about what we what
- 50:19Speaker 14: we saw.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I do, I do, And I'm gonna start with the
- 50:23Speaker 1: first game, which was Jumior Gibbs. I stole it from you.
- 50:28Speaker 1: You know, we we got to look at him. I mean,
- 50:29Speaker 1: I think he went a little higher than everybody. Maybe
- 50:31Speaker 1: anticipated didn't get a ton of touches though, I mean
- 50:33Speaker 1: I'm seeing too.
- 50:34Speaker 14: I think he uh what he seven rushes forty two yards?
- 50:38Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, And I think he made like twenty
- 50:40Speaker 1: seven people misstackles on it, which.
- 50:42Speaker 5: Is what he does.
- 50:43Speaker 1: So I just thought it was an interesting you know,
- 50:46Speaker 1: I think it's a theme a lot with these rookies
- 50:48Speaker 1: are probably gonna talk about it. Didn't play a lot,
- 50:49Speaker 1: but we're really effective in the small spur. If he
- 50:51Speaker 1: did play the whole time right, he would dealing touches.
- 50:55Speaker 1: He slipped on a potential walking touch down.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Oh I thought he had him. I thought he had him.
- 51:00Speaker 8: He did yep, if he didn't slip.
- 51:02Speaker 5: But he looks dynamite. It looks well worth the pick.
- 51:04Speaker 1: And you know, we talk so much about weapons here
- 51:06Speaker 1: that he's a weapon. And I'm sure that he's only
- 51:08Speaker 1: gonna get more productive as he plays more.
- 51:10Speaker 14: I'm going next that I think I know whoever even
- 51:12Speaker 14: talk about Oh yeah, I'm going with this was if
- 51:15Speaker 14: the pass didn't take Gonzo. This was my guy, Jordan Addison.
- 51:19Speaker 14: He kind of balled out. He had four rest options,
- 51:21Speaker 14: sixty one yards touchdown, big difference maker. He's able to
- 51:25Speaker 14: play across from Jefferson and Hawkinson very well. So I
- 51:29Speaker 14: think like he's a guy able to plug in right
- 51:32Speaker 14: away and make some people miss. So he really stood
- 51:34Speaker 14: out to me. But Evan, I'm gonna let you go, guys,
- 51:37Speaker 14: this is probably you're gonna be painful.
- 51:39Speaker 5: Sad music.
- 51:41Speaker 8: I'm just gonna take a deep breath.
- 51:42Speaker 5: That's right, guys, He's good.
- 51:44Speaker 4: I tried to.
- 51:45Speaker 8: Tell you Zay Flowers.
- 51:48Speaker 5: Yeah, oh I thought you were. I thought you were.
- 51:50Speaker 8: Gonna say Flowers. Week one nine catches on ten targets
- 51:54Speaker 8: for seventy eight yards, four forced miss tackles with the
- 51:58Speaker 8: ball in his hand.
- 52:01Speaker 5: What could have been.
- 52:03Speaker 8: I don't lament the Gonzo pick at all. We're all
- 52:05Speaker 8: really excited for Christian Gonzales and it would have been
- 52:08Speaker 8: pretty much impossible for them to have both. So I
- 52:11Speaker 8: I get that. I get that, but I'm not quite
- 52:15Speaker 8: ready to take a victory lap on Zay yet because
- 52:17Speaker 8: it's only one week. But I'm pretty darn close because
- 52:21Speaker 8: watching him with the ball in his hands is different.
- 52:23Speaker 8: He just looks different, which as a ball carrier.
- 52:26Speaker 14: He looked very comfortable. With a lot of rookies you
- 52:28Speaker 14: don't always see.
- 52:29Speaker 8: He just looked like he was ready to go human Joystick.
- 52:31Speaker 14: Yeah, talk about Joystick. First touchdown for Jon Robinson. Oh
- 52:36Speaker 14: that was a pretty icy movie.
- 52:38Speaker 5: He looked awesome.
- 52:40Speaker 14: And the same situation with Gibbs, because they had how
- 52:44Speaker 14: the Lions had Montgomery, they had Algier Algery.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and even he looked kind of good. Yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 1: but man, I mean, Bjon Robinson. I mean I think
- 52:53Speaker 1: I remember during our draft coverage, Evon kind of like
- 52:55Speaker 1: was was really pumping him up, and of course you
- 52:58Speaker 1: see him. Of course he looked great. I kind of
- 53:00Speaker 1: ignored him a little bit, even when they're saying, oh,
- 53:01Speaker 1: the Patriots love him, but he looked awesome. I mean,
- 53:04Speaker 1: he looks like an absolute beast, and it seems like
- 53:06Speaker 1: they're cooking down there in in Atlanta. They got something growing.
- 53:09Speaker 14: I think hopefully they pay him when he's up for
- 53:10Speaker 14: a contract.
- 53:12Speaker 5: Is that how it works? You're allowed to do.
- 53:13Speaker 8: That if you're if you're bijon, do you think about
- 53:16Speaker 8: doing the holdout after year too? Like I think the
- 53:19Speaker 8: year after your attle a little too early, But once
- 53:24Speaker 8: that you're eligible for that first contract extension. If you're bijon,
- 53:29Speaker 8: you gotta be pumping pumping the tires for that for sure.
- 53:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Can I jump in and just say, like, I mean,
- 53:36Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta shout out the Patriots rookies and
- 53:38Speaker 1: I mean, it's just it's overall. I mean, it's eleven guys.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Originally I had ten, but I guess Jake Andrew's got
- 53:42Speaker 1: a couple of snaps somewhere. But eleven rookies played, and
- 53:46Speaker 1: I think the same thing, you know, I mean, Gonzales
- 53:48Speaker 1: played the whole game. The two guards played the whole game. Uh,
- 53:51Speaker 1: key On White was really effective in limited snaps.
- 53:53Speaker 5: Marte ma Po showing going against elite player, going against
- 53:56Speaker 5: elite players.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I mean, that's you know, it's just I think a
- 53:59Speaker 1: lot of this is what this team needs to get
- 54:01Speaker 1: to that back to that level of contending.
- 54:03Speaker 5: And it looks like right now.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Of course, things can change quickly, but right now, after
- 54:07Speaker 1: week one, it looks like the pitch has got a
- 54:08Speaker 1: really good rookie class.
- 54:09Speaker 14: So so here's a question, what what, guys do you
- 54:12Speaker 14: think this is a one week thing. I'm gonna throw
- 54:14Speaker 14: what's his name, Packapa.
- 54:18Speaker 5: From does he keep it going? Yeah, he's discount Cooper Cup,
- 54:22Speaker 5: I guess.
- 54:22Speaker 8: Okay, pokakuas uh for people that are unfamiliar with this game,
- 54:27Speaker 8: he's He's pretty similar to Pop Douglas. They they had
- 54:29Speaker 8: similar profiles, smaller, shifty, slot receiver types. It might be
- 54:35Speaker 8: a one week thing, but he was definitely one of
- 54:37Speaker 8: those players in the draft process that if he had
- 54:40Speaker 8: gone to like an Alabama or something like that and
- 54:43Speaker 8: did the same thing that he did in college, then
- 54:45Speaker 8: maybe he gets drafted a little bit higher. But because
- 54:47Speaker 8: of the school, similar uh to to Pop Douglas, he
- 54:51Speaker 8: doesn't get drafted quite as high because of the level
- 54:54Speaker 8: of competition, and but his route running is legit. He's
- 54:57Speaker 8: a shifty, dynamic route runner, so we'll see if it sticks.
- 55:02Speaker 14: And then one other guy who stood out. I didn't
- 55:03Speaker 14: get to watch all the games as much as I
- 55:05Speaker 14: wanted to, but Will Anderson on the Texan he was
- 55:09Speaker 14: kind of a force to be reckoned with.
- 55:11Speaker 8: Yeah, he's a good player, and you know him and
- 55:13Speaker 8: Jalen Carter.
- 55:14Speaker 4: J Carter.
- 55:16Speaker 5: He's going against backups.
- 55:18Speaker 8: Eight quarterback pressures for Jalen Carter in that game on
- 55:21Speaker 8: Sunday against the Patriots, and he was a difference maker
- 55:25Speaker 8: for Mac Jones not being able to step up in
- 55:28Speaker 8: the pocket forced a few Aaron throws as well. So, yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 8: he had a great game.
- 55:34Speaker 14: Out of the Pats rookies. Who is your number one
- 55:37Speaker 14: rookie you think.
- 55:38Speaker 5: I think he's gotta be Gonzalez.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I mean, as intrigued as I am with mop Who
- 55:41Speaker 1: and White, and I think that they could be really good,
- 55:44Speaker 1: just to you know, And I know we got picked
- 55:45Speaker 1: on him and he allowed some completions, but he didn't
- 55:47Speaker 1: get burnt deep, and you know, he was a real
- 55:49Speaker 1: solid tackler. I think that was one of the things
- 55:51Speaker 1: you know a little bit of concern about. But anytime
- 55:53Speaker 1: you can go against those true receivers put him out there,
- 55:56Speaker 1: he held his own, came up with some big plays.
- 55:59Speaker 1: The sack totally unexpected. I mean, I don't know where
- 56:01Speaker 1: Steve Belichick's like, hey, let's blitz Gonzales on his slot
- 56:04Speaker 1: all of a sudden. Yeah, But they're having some fun
- 56:06Speaker 1: with him then, and I like, you just see the
- 56:07Speaker 1: difference that athleticism makes for them.
- 56:09Speaker 14: It's just crazy. It's like, are you're gonna go against
- 56:11Speaker 14: a J Brown or Devonte Smith?
- 56:13Speaker 5: Like you get a.
- 56:13Speaker 8: Little bit a little Yeah. The obviously the fourth down
- 56:17Speaker 8: pass breakup is the big one, but he made a
- 56:19Speaker 8: tackle on AJ Brown on a third down play coming
- 56:23Speaker 8: across the field that, like Deuce was saying, that was
- 56:26Speaker 8: that was the knock. And I think what you see
- 56:28Speaker 8: you along with the sack is the closing speed that
- 56:31Speaker 8: even when he does give up a catch, he's so
- 56:34Speaker 8: explosive coming out of his his footwork that he can
- 56:37Speaker 8: just kind of go ahead and limit those yards after
- 56:40Speaker 8: the catch. But I'll give Keon White a shout out.
- 56:42Speaker 8: You go up against Jordan Mylotta and Lane Johnson and
- 56:45Speaker 8: have a twenty eight percent pressure rate on your twenty
- 56:47Speaker 8: three I mean, that's that's saying something about that. I
- 56:50Speaker 8: mean he walked Jordan mylotta put him on skates, who's
- 56:54Speaker 8: a three hundred and eighty pound left tackle, and just
- 56:57Speaker 8: back right. It's just it's it's like my home screen
- 57:01Speaker 8: and just on repeat. Yeah, So he he looked really impressive,
- 57:04Speaker 8: and I think with him, he just more snaps like
- 57:08Speaker 8: get him on the field more and more and more
- 57:10Speaker 8: as you can, and I'm sure they will.
- 57:12Speaker 14: Well, they're both gonna have a good test this weekend,
- 57:14Speaker 14: especially Gonzales with Waddle and Tyreek Hill Company of Town.
- 57:18Speaker 14: But thank you guys for joining the show within a show.

- 57:56Speaker 7: Who's the other one?
- 57:59Speaker 4: Well, there's Ronald Robinson, Robins, Michael Vincent Valentino, alliteration names, yeah, yeah,
- 58:06Speaker 4: oh yeah, all Italian.
- 58:08Speaker 5: It's unbelievable that Marcavaney.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I know them all. I remember them like it

- 59:09Speaker 13: You know.
- 59:11Speaker 7: Carolina Brian Kinchen.
- 59:13Speaker 4: Yeah, Ted and Charlotte North Carolina got that in Super
- 59:17Speaker 4: Bowl twenty versus the Chicago Bears, which Patriots scored their
- 59:21Speaker 4: only touchdown of the game. I don't know, Irving Friar.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Was it late? I don't know?
- 59:31Speaker 5: It was like forty six three? Yeah?
- 59:34Speaker 4: Tim Henson, our friend from I shouldn't say his last name.
- 59:39Speaker 4: What Patriots quarterback led them to their only two wins
- 59:42Speaker 4: in the nineteen ninety two season, Zo la Zo lack
- 59:48Speaker 4: Zo lac yep and the winner was okay wyant okay
- 59:52Speaker 4: wyant Okay, so good? All right? JERRR T shirt three
- 59:57Speaker 4: more T shirts show within a show. We're getting through them,
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: all right, eight five five pass five hundred is as
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: take an utline? I said, we get to some calls.
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: Let's go to Willem and Phillim. What's up? William?
- 1:00:07Speaker 13: Hey?
- 1:00:07Speaker 15: What's up? Fred? How you doing?
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: Question for Paul Evan and Douso. But it's not for you, Fred,
- 1:00:17Speaker 15: it's not for Alex.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: It definitely gets something.
- 1:00:20Speaker 15: They asked me, gentlemen, do you remember when you asked me,
- 1:00:24Speaker 15: do I want change in terms of as far as
- 1:00:27Speaker 15: the team, the coaching like at the time basement? And uh,
- 1:00:32Speaker 15: and I agree with you. I told you I did
- 1:00:34Speaker 15: want to change. You know what I mean? Do I
- 1:00:37Speaker 15: do I see that.
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: To some certain degree?
- 1:00:41Speaker 15: Yes, I mean in terms of how the how the
- 1:00:43Speaker 15: offense looked. The offense was way better, thank god. But
- 1:00:47Speaker 15: I just want to ask y'all now, after this season
- 1:00:50Speaker 15: and if we don't make the playoffs, are you ready
- 1:00:53Speaker 15: for cheats? I'm not saying I know y'all don't want
- 1:00:55Speaker 15: field to go. I get that, okay, but do you
- 1:00:58Speaker 15: want to see some type of in terms of basically personnel,
- 1:01:03Speaker 15: your your offense, your I mean, you know, the weapons
- 1:01:06Speaker 15: around basically because you're going to have some some pretty
- 1:01:10Speaker 15: questions you got to answered off season based in terms of
- 1:01:13Speaker 15: you know, the defense, you know pieces need to be
- 1:01:16Speaker 15: a gonna be missing and stuff like that. So you know,
- 1:01:19Speaker 15: what does your take on well, I.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Mean, if the reason why they didn't make the playoffs
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: is because the offense just can't keep up, then yeah,
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know if you want to call
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: a change or infusion of talent or whatever.
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: I'm right, yeah, yeah, And I'm fine if Bill, you know,
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: with Bill being the coach, but I would like to
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: see him sort of have a sort of a change
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: in direction with how he feels about offense based on
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: what I think now. That might not be right, but
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: I don't think he overly believes in the number one guy.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I kind of feel like change is inevitable no matter
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: how this season ends, like because of their sheer number
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: of free agents and just I mean.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: It feels like regardless, it's.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Kind of an inflection point for the Patriots to kind
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: of reset their roster a little bit, a bunch of
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: cap space, a bunch of free agents, not not a
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: lot set and stoning about next season. So I mean,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I don't see how there isn't changed next year.
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: Yeah right, I'm one last take and I don't leave
- 1:02:12Speaker 15: it that day. I couldn't think of if we was
- 1:02:16Speaker 15: getting new GM's. Basically, there are two people, two got
- 1:02:20Speaker 15: two gentlemen. Basically I would love to see you and
- 1:02:22Speaker 15: Eve been doing it since YouTube and as Em Lazar
- 1:02:25Speaker 15: and Alex Park.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Okay, all right, Sometimes you know you're looking for an
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: answer and it's right there under your nose. You don't
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: have to look. It's like Dorin. You imagine how you
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: know Dorothy wanted to leave Kansas and all that time
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: she had everything she needed right there in Kansas, right
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: you know?
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you know, Evan's already the OC, so
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: you're just promoting him to have coach.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: It's not not that big of a jump.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: Uh, let's go to Samuel in the UK. What's up, Samuel,
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Samuel UK? Brilliant? Good, it's not there. Let's see DARPin
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: and New York City writes in He says he's got
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: a bone to pick with me.
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: Oh good, How can anyone have a bone to pick
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: with you?
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: And I'm dead serious when I say that.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Here's my bone to pick with not retiring number twelve
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: and moving away from retiring jerseys.
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: We mentioned it, figured it was something that's not football related.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Totally agree with that. But as great a Patriot as
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: Gino Capilletti was, is he even in the top twenty
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: five of all time NFL receivers. So the possibility that
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: a future Patriot player can wear twelve but not twenty
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: seventy eight, seventy nine or eighty nine is frankly a joke,
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: and the decision makers are cowards for taking this path
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: of least resistance. Either retire twelve and eighty seven or
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: unretire every other number, which is what I support, so
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: future patriots can wear these and continue to honor the
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: legacy of these past great patriots. Well, I'm all for
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: unretiring everybody, but I can tell you, even if they
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: don't officially retire twelve, no one's.
- 1:03:59Speaker 7: Wearing so then why can't you just retire it?
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Because they don't want They don't want that tradition anymore.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: They don't want it.
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: Yeah, that's maybe why I'm not in those meetings anymore. Yeah,
- 1:04:10Speaker 7: that makes absolutely no sense at all. Like, if you're
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: gonna let it be worn, then let it be worn.
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: Otherwise retire it. Yeah, yeah, Like I don't understand this
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: middle and I think eventually to.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Carry on, just do a Brady and stop it there.
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, if you don't see
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: the difference between Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, I can't
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: help I know.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: But I think I think they're just waiting for a
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: little bit more time before they do unretire everything.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Nobody, like, nobody's coming out to rookie Mini Camp in twelve, Like,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: you know, no.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: I understand that, but I also agree with the emailer.
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: I think, Tom, just because you have some numbers that
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: are retired that probably shouldn't be, and he picked a
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: few that would would fall into that eighty nine, twenty,
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: you know whatever, doesn't mean that you should no longer
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: retire numbers, like you have a guy like Brady that's
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: just so transcendent you have to retire, I mean, and.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I like, I like like still having those numbers in
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: the mix, you know, Like I like seeing fifty out there.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Not right now, per se, but you know, just seeing
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: those numbers still in certain it reminds you of those players,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: you know, like like when I would see Nikovic wearing
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: fifty and think about Verbel wearing fifty, you know, or
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: all the guys have worn, all the guys that have
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: born fifty five, Like it stays right, no one's seen twenty,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and no one's really talking about Geno anymore, you know.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: So I don't know if it would necessarily putting that
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: back into circulation brings up more conversation about Gino. But
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: I could just say for me watching certain players, like
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: you know, you see that number on the field.
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: You remember everybody who's warning, I.
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: Know, that's a big that's a big college thing is
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: you have that legacy number. And you know, fifty five
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: was always the one the linebacker number for USC with
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: like Junior Seau and then Willie got it. I think
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: eighteen for LSU is a huge number, and forty four
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: for Syracuse.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: There's a lot of those iconic numbers, like the top
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: players get them.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: That you get and it's it's a legacy kind of
- 1:05:58Speaker 7: a number. Maybe they could do it that way, but
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: I mean, I don't. I would not want to see anybody.
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: If I were in judge of the Patriots, I wouldn want.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: To whether or not twelve, if they unretire numbers or
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: no one should ever wear twelve again.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: No, I mean, I mean, I think the best thing
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: would be, can twelve put everything else back into circulation
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: and make, you know, make a.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: Ceremony out of it.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: You know, have have a have that player come in
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: if they're you know, still around and able to and
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: you know, do some kind of gesture where you know
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: it's it's it's putting it back in and honor those
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: people a little bit again, you know, bring them up.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I mean, talk about a guy like Bob d who
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: you know was just kind of thrown under the bus
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: as well. He shouldn't be retired now, but you know,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: it's still a player that that had a lot of
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: time here and deserves you know, some respect or at
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: least some acknowledgment at this point.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Well, and you know, listen, I hate to disrespect to
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: all the people that have had their numbers retire, but
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: to lump Brady in with that, it's not and it's
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: not right. No, you know, you got whatever you do
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: for Brady has to be above and beyond what you've
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: done for anyone in the past. You know, I don't
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: know if that's a statue or whatever, but that's.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Why it's such a nice like thing to say, we're
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: going to retire his number. But that's it. You know,
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: everything else is coming back and now there'll just be
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: one standard and from here on out, that's the number.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: That thing.
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: I'd be in favor of the Hall of famers, like
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: keep the Hall of Fame numbers, like you know, Tip,
- 1:07:17Speaker 7: Hanna Hannah, those numbers, keep them out of circulation and
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: then everybody else goes back in circulation. But I don't.
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: I don't have a problem with retiring the numbers either,
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: Like you, you obviously thought enough of the guys who
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: were retired at the time to do it.
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: Yeah. The problem is they started doing that before the
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: team had won anything, right, So the bar was just
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: in football, when you start giving out individual stuff before
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: your team has ever accomplished, it throws it out of
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: what Yeah, because like what happened here, Then all of
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: a sudden, the team does all this great stuff and.
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: It's the guys who played. A guy who played a
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: decade and made two All Pros, he's got a way.
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: Yeah, but I don't know. I mean I I can't
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: speak to the guys that played in the sixties. I
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: just don't know. But like Mike Canes deserves to have
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: his number.
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: We okay, the Hall of Famers. Yeah, but like they
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: did it with a lot of guys who wouldn't.
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: Even well, I said, I don't know. I mean, I
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: don't know that to be true. I mean, you might
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: be right. I don't know who those sixties guys. I
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: don't know Bob d and Gino. I never saw those
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: guys play, not even one play. Yeah, so I can't
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: tell you how deserving or not deserving they were. I
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: don't really care that they were on teams that didn't
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: win Super Bowls. That's not my criteria for retiring someone's number.
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: Like obviously Brady's different, but like there are other guys
- 1:08:33Speaker 7: that were great players that didn't win Super Bowls.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: I'm not even I'm saying you don't even start a
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: physical hall of fame or just you don't even establish
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: a hall of fame until your team has accomplished some winning.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: You know, it's you just don't do that.
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: I just think it's a whole different argument. We're talking
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: about individual accolage, not a team hall of fame.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: No, but you're judging guys like, oh, he was the
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: best player on our team, but our team stuck.
- 1:09:04Speaker 7: But that's not what okay, I mean, Maybe I'm given
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: too much of it. I don't think that someone got
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: did number retired because they were the best player on
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: a team that won two games. I think they got
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: their number retired because they were one of the best
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: players in the league during the time that.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: They played for the team.
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: Maybe that's wrong. Again, I never saw any of those
- 1:09:20Speaker 7: guys in the sixties play. My earliest recollections of the
- 1:09:23Speaker 7: late seventies, So there's a lot of guys that had
- 1:09:26Speaker 7: their numbers retired. I never saw, but I assumed those
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: guys were among the best players in the AFLA, not
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: best player on the Patriots that went three and eleven.
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: Maybe that's maybe you're right. Maybe that's what Bob de
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: And was a Jim Lee hunted team. Yeah, and in
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: Gino Larry Eisenhower.
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:09:45Speaker 7: I never saw any of those guys play one game.
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: Maybe those guys were just the best players on the
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: Patriots and they shouldn't have had their numbers retired.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Yea. So it's it's a conversation that will be ongoing,
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: sure until the Powers be decide what they want to do.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Ray writes in I have nothing worthwhile to add, but
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: I do have a question about the show within a show?
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: Was this name workshop? You like the PU halftime Show
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: with a better ring to it? I like that, and
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: you can get it sponsored by Jersey, Mike's or Paul's
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: tender in wings joint in section one seventeen.
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: It's Fred Fred's tender Listen.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: I'm open to it.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought halftime Show was a good name, but
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: now they just picked it. Is that what you wanted?
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: Halftime show?
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: I didn't really well no, I just thought that I
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: just started calling the show because that's what it is.
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: Yeah, I didn't know what was happening until it had
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: already happened.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: But the PU halftime show, I don't know.
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: Ye I like it.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Do like a make like a little graphic, you know,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: with like famous halftime shows from Super Bowl history. Put
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Matisa in there, Maybe on Janet Jackson's body. Yeah, it'll
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: be fun.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: And I have the final score for the Patriots. It's
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Patriots seventeen, Dolphins twenty nine. Our lack of our line
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: proves to be our Rogers Achilles heel this week.
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: That will be that would be really really depressing if
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: not only they lose the game, but they don't have
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: a chance to win it.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's probably something that I mean, I
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: think we all are we'll save for picks, but I mean,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I think we're all feeling a little optimistic going into
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: an initially, But I just I have to acknowledge what
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: the offensive line is going to look like, and it
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: has to be a possibility that they're just you know,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: going to really struggle offensively to protect and to open up.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: I mean, if they struggled last week to run the ball,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: how is their next level down of offensive line gonna
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: improve on that.
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: It's it's a big.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: Task, Mark and fall River. I'm here to pitch a
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: new segment. After listening to Tuesday Show, there was a
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: lot of talk about keeping receipts. I think every Tuesday
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: you should have a segment called we Got Receipts where
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: you look back at the Thursday Pick Show and the
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: analysis you made about the Patriots game heading into the weekend.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: How go away? I'm up for it. I think this week,
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: I think this could help a lot with the expectations game.
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: It seems like everyone was arguing about whether or not
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: they were better than expected when everyone has different expectations.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: This way you can look back and see what you
- 1:12:10Speaker 4: expected heading into the game and whether or not you
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: were accurate. I think you have a similar thing pre
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: and postgame with your predictions. But I thought this could
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: be a good discussion on Tuesday Show.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes sometimes you're on it, but you know what,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: I think. The thing it's hard with predictions, though, is
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: that sometimes the game just goes sideways for a particular reason,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: and nobody really saw it coming and so.
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: And it's perfect, Like there were a lot of people
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: that thought the Patriots were going to win against Philadelphia,
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: right and Fred your guys on ninety eight five the
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: betting the bankroll boys.
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: Are the sharps.
- 1:12:44Speaker 7: Now, a lot of those people that picked that Hardy
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: picked it on our show Mike with Us. They were
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: kind of right the way the game unfolded. They just
- 1:12:52Speaker 7: didn't win the game. They didn't win the bet true,
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: you know, Like that's the thing about gambling that.
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: You can be right about what you think's gonna happen.
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: But then I don't think that, you know, Smith, they're
- 1:13:05Speaker 7: going to take the game over. I think they're going
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: to contain hurts and they did all of those things. Yeah,
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: and then you know, a turnover or two changes the
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: game and you lose.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: Yep, Nolan in California, for someone who usually only gets
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: to catch the highlights of games unless it's televised, he
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: can talk about Sunday Night football. I heavily rely on
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: your guys information and I absolutely love the facts and
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: honesty of this outlook of the team. I do think
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Sunday is a huge game and I do think it's winnable. However,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: I only think so if the running is better than
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: it was and the Patriots control the clock and pace.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I think that's always a factor,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: especially against an explosive offense like Miami's. But again, you know,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: what does that starting five look like? What kind of
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: holes are they going to open up?
- 1:13:50Speaker 9: You know?
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: I mean, I guess we can just hope that it's
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: going to be better if.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Calvin Anderson's playing left tackle, and you know, Vederian Lowe
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: is at right tackle, and these guys who you know
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: didn't really spend any time this summer playing football, can
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: make it, make it happen.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: But it's it's it's gonna be grind.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: It just stinks because I totally, I mean, I'm building
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: this game up as a huge game, even last week
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: going into Philly.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: Just this is it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: This is the division you gotta hold, serve at home.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: You want to be not a third or fourth place team.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: This is, you know, a game that you have to win,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: but unfortunately you're gonna have to go into it shorthanded,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: probably on the offensive line.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: Okay, skip in Fairport, New York. I've been listening to
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: the show since it was distributed as an MP three.
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: In my opinion, the show has become with that probably
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: I don't know back in the early two.
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: Early two thousand three file.
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: Yea, yeah, my opinion, the show has become way too negative.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: If a host says something positive or hopeful about the team,
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: another host feels obliged to counter it with something negative
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: that triggers the other host to a pine on what
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: they believe is a more important negative, and the whole
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: discussion becomes just bitching about the team. Not a great
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: way to promote the new England Patriots. I'd much rather
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: hear a more balanced discussion of things wrong, signs of improvement,
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: and hope for the season in future.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you, dude, Like, do
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: you listen to the show, because like, how many times
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: can we all sit here and be like, the defense
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: is great. I mean, Paul is like the defense is great,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: and you're like, oh, it's just a negative fest, and
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: like you just say, I don't want to hear anything negative.
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: Don't tell me anything bad about the team. Just tell
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: me only the good stuff and then be silent for
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: the rest of the show.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, they get triggered. They get triggered.
- 1:15:32Speaker 7: This is the fourth year since Tom is gone, and
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: they've lost more games than they've won. It's hard to
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: come up with positives to just fluff that off.
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: That's all.
- 1:15:45Speaker 7: Now, Are we hopeful?
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: Fred?
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: That was our word heading into the season, right, Yeah.
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: I think there's a lot of hope. I think there's
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: encouraging things that happen Sunday even You're gonna find out
- 1:15:56Speaker 7: in about ten minutes that I think they're gonna win
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: Sunday night. And I think a lot of other people
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: on the show think they are breaking news. Right, But
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: you can't just ignore the fact that they didn't win
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: the game last Sunday. They didn't, and they didn't win
- 1:16:12Speaker 7: more games than they they didn't. They've lost more than
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: they've won.
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: I think they kind of won.
- 1:16:18Speaker 13: But no, but.
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: Your tongue in cheek and you're you're having fun with it.
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: People think that way, and that's why they think it's negative. Like,
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: my god, I didn't expect them to do well, you
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: know what. A lot of people expected them to win
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: that game. A lot of people picked them to win
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: that game. I wasn't one of them. But this whole
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: like again, I used this phrase on Tuesday, the whole
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: little engine that could.
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: When do you get sick of that?
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: When do you get sick of?
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: You know? Even you know?
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: All due respect to Robert Kraft, who said last week
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: at the ribbon cutting ceremony, I kind of liked being
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: picked to finish last. Really why, I kind of liked
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: being picked first every year.
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: That was more fun.
- 1:16:59Speaker 7: That was way more fun for me.
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: I like dominating.
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: Deuce was bored with it.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: But Steven Fresno on the ACE Ticket hotline, what's up, Steve,
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: It's Keith and Fresno. Okay, good job back Matt. Matt's
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: a little distracted.
- 1:17:16Speaker 16: He's yeah, I got depended question and then a couple
- 1:17:21Speaker 16: of comments about the offense.
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: Let's go, let's go.
- 1:17:24Speaker 16: Do you guys believe a three three five defense can
- 1:17:27Speaker 16: work against Miami's offense?
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:17:33Speaker 7: I mean I think they're going to swing back and forth.
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: I mean no, you tell me, I think they I
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: think they need to be keeping everything in front. I
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: don't think it's it's all that complicated. You got to
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: eliminate the chunk plays with Miami. I think you can
- 1:17:47Speaker 7: dare him to run short. You want to go light
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: up front because you want to have extra bodies back.
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: I think that makes all the sense in the world.
- 1:17:53Speaker 7: Absolutely the way I see.
- 1:17:56Speaker 16: Three working as you got White, Christian Barmore wise up front,
- 1:18:01Speaker 16: and then rotating Brill, Peppers and Bitley in the middle,
- 1:18:06Speaker 16: with Joy and Judah on the other side, with obviously
- 1:18:13Speaker 16: Christian on one side.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Uh what is it?
- 1:18:16Speaker 16: Jack Jones? And then uh, Dugger and Milk on the top.
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: Now Jack Jack Jones is on, I R it'll be
- 1:18:24Speaker 7: Jonathan Jones.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: With Christian Gonzale, Mills, Mills, Jones and Mills hardly Mills
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: hardly play Mills doesn't.
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: Really He seems like he's third and long, third and
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: long guy.
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: Okay, although I wonder if he's more valuable this week
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: with the whole keep everything in front you a guy
- 1:18:41Speaker 7: with some range back.
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Maybe all right, Thanks Steve, Stephen Fresno. Evan is back.
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: Has turned? Has turned? Has all right?
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: Evan? What do you guy?
- 1:19:06Speaker 8: Nothing surprising out of Patriots practice today, No Trent Brown,
- 1:19:11Speaker 8: no City. So so those are the only two players.
- 1:19:14Speaker 8: So so those are the only two players missing. Uh so,
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: no no surprises. I think it was a long shot
- 1:19:21Speaker 8: to see those guys out there today.
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: So the fact that they're listed with concussion, are they
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: pretty much out? Yes?
- 1:19:27Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, like that you don't get clear in one week,
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: and that's what I'm thinking.
- 1:19:32Speaker 7: Yeah, Evan said last year, every guy that was listening
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: with the concussion for the Patriots did not play in
- 1:19:37Speaker 7: that game.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: Right, would you say that was like nine days?
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: Nine days? Nine days?
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: Tis so.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Ye sigh for so Yeah, it's uh, you frown for brown.
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: Along with talking talking some baseball talking, some hind bloom
- 1:19:54Speaker 8: out there obviously grousing about that, some grousing, Yeah, some grouse.
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: There's a lot of former Red Sox out there.
- 1:20:03Speaker 8: There was no but you know, we have some people
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: on the beat that used to cover the Red Sox
- 1:20:07Speaker 8: that no longer do make sense. Chris Mason for mass Live,
- 1:20:11Speaker 8: Dakota Randall at Nesson used to do some baseball and
- 1:20:14Speaker 8: they like him. Yeah, no they I don't want to
- 1:20:18Speaker 8: put words in their mouth, but I think the general
- 1:20:21Speaker 8: consensus was that you can't be the GM of the
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: Boston Red Sox and try to be the Oakland A's right,
- 1:20:28Speaker 8: Like that doesn't work in this in this market.
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: And so that that was how they didn't work in
- 1:20:33Speaker 4: Oakland either.
- 1:20:34Speaker 8: I think it was more about the the how weird
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: of a marriage it was to begin with, to hire
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: somebody that was going to play moneyball with a three
- 1:20:43Speaker 8: hundred million dollar payroll.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: Yeah, other than that. Pads today uh.
- 1:20:49Speaker 8: No, No, their pads yesterday, upper fields, upper fields again today?
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: Yes, okay, yep, mood uh you know what it was.
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: It was another It was another short window. We only
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: got stretching again today. And my guess is, and you
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: know inside baseball a little bit, but usually when we
- 1:21:14Speaker 8: get that very first win practice period, we would see
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: the starting quote unquote offensive line take reps together. So
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: my guess is that they are closing it down quickly
- 1:21:27Speaker 8: because whatever combination they're working with, without Trent Brown and
- 1:21:30Speaker 8: city so out there, they don't want the external people
- 1:21:34Speaker 8: as we call them, to be tweeting about it.
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: Now.
- 1:21:37Speaker 7: Did you get to see any of the positional warm
- 1:21:40Speaker 7: up or is it just like stress stretching.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: So you couldn't even like say, well, this guy went
- 1:21:46Speaker 7: first when they went through there.
- 1:21:48Speaker 8: Nope, No, can't even give you that.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: Do you see David Andrews was able to touch his toes?
- 1:21:52Speaker 8: I did see David Andrews he was out there. Juju
- 1:21:56Speaker 8: still out there. That was the other conversation was that
- 1:21:59Speaker 8: I don't know if you guys talked about the Callahan report.
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: Yet, yeah, a little bit, and they he uh, you know, some.
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: People came up to me and said, you know, what
- 1:22:06Speaker 8: did you think of that? And I just said, well,
- 1:22:09Speaker 8: I wouldn't have put it in that exact phraseer words,
- 1:22:12Speaker 8: but I can see where they're coming from with Juju,
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: and uh, you know, I think a lot of us
- 1:22:19Speaker 8: just feel like, why, you know, why even play him?
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: Like why not put him on I R and then
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: revisit in a month and see if he's he's healthier
- 1:22:28Speaker 8: and has a little bit more juice, because now, you know,
- 1:22:32Speaker 8: like Paul is saying earlier, if he doesn't play, you know,
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: if he only plays forty percent of the snaps, you're
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: gonna get all the same questions of why wasn't Juju
- 1:22:44Speaker 8: out there? You know, where's Juju? He paid him all
- 1:22:46Speaker 8: this money and now he's not playing. If you put
- 1:22:49Speaker 8: him an IR then you you don't get any of
- 1:22:51Speaker 8: those questions.
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: Maybe he bounces back, maybe he has a better game.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: The optics are just yeah, he was the piece this
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: offseason three twenty eight twenty what is it three twenty
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: five and a half six million.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: Which you offensive player will have a noticeably better game
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: in terms of numbers this this week from last week.
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: Stevenson Andre hopefully right, that's a good one.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: You got a hope.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe maybe Douglas if they play them a little
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: more gets you know, they pull back on Juju. They
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: they don't try to force that issue. Maybe maybe he's
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: able to get some catches. Is he's able to get
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: open quick.
- 1:23:27Speaker 8: The worst part about Juju Tu I just looked up
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: his contract. It's a two year deal. The third year
- 1:23:33Speaker 8: you could get out of. But they got Juju on
- 1:23:35Speaker 8: the roster for the next two years. So it's not
- 1:23:38Speaker 8: even if it's really if he's really washed, then there
- 1:23:42Speaker 8: there's really no moving off of it.
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: This is gonna go.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: I mean, if it's going, if he keeps going the
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: way it's going, it's gonna rival Mohammed Sanu in terms.
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: Of special.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: Especially if Jakobe heeps.
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: Playing well like and he was, I mean he did
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: get concussed, but he played he played like it usually does.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Productive guy surprised though it seemed to be getting into
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: the nonsense with some guy from the other team that
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: went after him really.
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: Really got penalty after his first touchdown. Yeah, penalty for taunting.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: And then and then that guy, I think the same
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: guy came back and whacked him good and he was
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: he had to leave the game with a concussion.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: Would you be surprised if Time Montgomery had noticeably better
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: numbers this week?
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: No?
- 1:24:21Speaker 13: No, no.
- 1:24:22Speaker 7: So that's what I you know, in one of Mike's questions,
- 1:24:26Speaker 7: like a guy on offense, that's the guy I picked
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: because and I know I'm probably being a little too
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: hard on Zeke the first game, but I'd like to
- 1:24:33Speaker 7: see some of those touches go to him. Ty Montgomery,
- 1:24:36Speaker 7: I think you might as well ride it out while
- 1:24:38Speaker 7: he's healthy, Yeah, you know, maximize his potential to impact
- 1:24:42Speaker 7: the offense a little bit.
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: And only had two carries out of the backfield. I
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: think that was it.
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, like five catches for fourteen yards for Zeke.
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: Give you know, three of those catches to Montgomery and
- 1:24:52Speaker 7: see if he can get more yards.
- 1:24:53Speaker 8: There's also one of the sacks that mac took in
- 1:24:56Speaker 8: the fourth quarter, it looked like he was looking to
- 1:24:58Speaker 8: throw it to Zeke. In the flat to get the
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: ball out, and he didn't turn his head around quick enough,
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: and so Mac had he actually pumped it and then
- 1:25:05Speaker 8: just just ate it. So I wonder if that's time Montgomery,
- 1:25:09Speaker 8: if he gets into the route just a stepper or
- 1:25:12Speaker 8: a half quicker, gets his head around a little bit faster.
- 1:25:15Speaker 8: If I don't think it would have been a big game,
- 1:25:17Speaker 8: Like there was a there was a defender right there
- 1:25:19Speaker 8: in the flat that probably would have tackled him pretty quickly.
- 1:25:21Speaker 8: But at least it's not a sack.
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: Yes or no. Chad Ryland has a forty five plus
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: yard field goal this this week?
- 1:25:30Speaker 8: Yeah, sure, Yeah, that's not said with convictions.
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I have. I
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: means it's gonna be good weather, So I would I
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: would hope that, you know, any think maybe they could point.
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: They think points are at a premium, and I just
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: like to see him get a chance.
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: Let's hope he doesn't need to kick a forty five
- 1:25:47Speaker 7: plus yard Let's hope it's closer or they get in
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: the ends.
- 1:25:50Speaker 8: Are Let's hope that they actually kicked the field goal.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: That's yeah, kick the words out of my mouth.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: The guys are so negative hell, and then now you're
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: going to try to out negative him, and then they
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: out negative, some buy out negatives, somebody neative on.
- 1:26:04Speaker 8: Four days later. I'm just still completely flabberg acid that
- 1:26:08Speaker 8: Bill Belichick of all coaches, went forward four times on
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: fourth down.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: I just and people are mad about it now, you know,
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: I mean, I know the context right to be, but
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: it's always like he's not aggressive enough, He's got to
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: go for it.
- 1:26:18Speaker 8: He's one over the last couple of years, since they
- 1:26:20Speaker 8: really started tracking this kind of stuff, he's been one
- 1:26:22Speaker 8: of the least aggressive fourth down decision makers in the league.
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: Do you think there's any chance that he deferred to
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: Bill O'Brien said Bill, what do you think? And Bill said,
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: let's go for it.
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: Maybe I don't know. But it's funny because when you
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: look at the chart of like who's been the least
- 1:26:37Speaker 8: aggressive guys, it's all the old heads, Like it's it's
- 1:26:40Speaker 8: like Pete and Bill and it was Zimmer for a
- 1:26:44Speaker 8: while in Minnesota, Like it's all the older coaches, and
- 1:26:46Speaker 8: then like Staley goes for it like every time, right,
- 1:26:49Speaker 8: So it's it's you can tell it's the guys that
- 1:26:52Speaker 8: like grew up in the in football in a different
- 1:26:55Speaker 8: league that think game of inches.
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: I always felt that Bill used to be very aggressive
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: on fourth down, but I agree with Evan, he hasn't
- 1:27:01Speaker 7: been since.
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: If they would have tried to just get the points,
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: they're not the same decision.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: No, I think he would have gone for it because
- 1:27:08Speaker 7: I don't think he felt like they were going to
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: get back down there. I think he made a mistake.
- 1:27:15Speaker 7: Do your point about O'Brien, I don't dismiss anything, Freddie.
- 1:27:19Speaker 7: Maybe you know, maybe O'Brien did have something to do
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: with it.
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: My guess is no.
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: I think he decides if they're going to kick or go,
- 1:27:26Speaker 7: and O'Brien decides what the play is.
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: Ford and Savannah, Georgia. This is a reactionary email to
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: all of the fans who have been complaining about your
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: supposed negative takes. The reason why you are my favorite
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: podcast is the way you all share what you believe
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: to be true about the team. To have, in my opinion,
- 1:27:43Speaker 4: the most fair and balanced collective view is a testament
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: to the work that you do. It is also a
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: testament to your employer, mister Kraft, for allowing patriots unfiltered
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: to publicly speak candidly about the team. This is an
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: example of how to have class as an organization. To
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: put that feather in your cap or that snap in
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: your slot and know that you are appreciated.
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: Put put it in your pipe and smoke it.
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: Hearty's vape. Yeah, appreciate that.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: Don't bring up the blunt talk again.
- 1:28:14Speaker 4: We should probably tell Hardy that he shouldn't keep his
- 1:28:16Speaker 4: little vape machine out during the show.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: Is that the kiss box was all cloudy down here?
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: I'm just kidding down here, a man, you wasn't a
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: game down there?
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: You got the break on?
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: Did he smoke cigarettes before you just pick up?
- 1:28:31Speaker 7: Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, I guess.
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: Okay, let's go smoke that joint. Well, like he's a
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: DJ and a music guy, so they all smoke.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: That was like, don't you use like the uppers though not.
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: The do everything?
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, whatever whatever down.
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: Bob in Wilmington, North Carolina. Uh, here's a what's more
- 1:28:53Speaker 4: likely game? Mac has another three touchdown game this week,
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: or the Dolphins forced Mac into turning the ball over
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: three times. Three touchdown game after to turn it over
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: three Yeah, I'm going to stay positive.
- 1:29:05Speaker 7: Our defense scores I'm kind of tired of getting yelled at,
- 1:29:09Speaker 7: so I'm going to say three more touchdowns.
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: Paul's been beaten down. Our defense scores a touchdown, or
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: our special teams has a kick return for a touchdown.
- 1:29:18Speaker 8: Defense defense scores a touchdown. Oh yeah, that's just more
- 1:29:21Speaker 8: likely in general.
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: The Patriots pitch a shutout and dominate Miami, or Bill
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: lets our rookie kicker try a field goal from fifty yards.
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: That's easy, shut out and prediction. Patriots moved to five hundred,
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: beating Miami twenty seven to twenty with a Mac Jones
- 1:29:38Speaker 4: touchdown to Booty on the final drive. I don't know
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: if it would be a booty, but yeah, all right,
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: it's about that time. We don't have any buys this.
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: Week, so we have to hurry. What that extra game?
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: It's like an extra forty minutes.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Paul, what happened last week?
- 1:30:04Speaker 7: Well, you know, somebody has a feel for the league,
- 1:30:08Speaker 7: and his name is Fred Kirk.
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: He didn't think he did. He got a guy out.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: How much gloating did you do last year on Tuesday?
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: Rogers? Gloating feels bad?
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: I told you so, none of it.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: You know, I hate it like it sucks. I said,
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: it sucks for the league because the league would have
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: been more fun this year with Aaron Rodgers in it.
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: But like, I can't help but smile. Not for Rogers,
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: but for the Jets fans. It's like, yeah, you thought
- 1:30:39Speaker 4: you can. You have a choice. There's another team in
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: town that you can be a fan of. You don't
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: have to be a Jets fan, and yet you choose
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: to do that. Well, then that's what you get. That's
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: what you get. You haven't learned, that's what you get.
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: I'm not counting the Jets out.
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: You f around and you find out.
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: No, there'll be a problem for everybody.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: I mean the defense, But you know, are they going
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: to be I mean they'll probably have have I mean
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: they probably have better problems than the Patriots have right
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: now with at least they have, you know, Garrett Wilson
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: and Priest Hall looks like stuff.
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: I said, Yeah, they're still in it. They're not out
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: of it. You know, I'm still scared of the Jets.
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: They've got a good team. But anyway, how much did
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: I win?
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: Fred went twelve and four to take the Week Week
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: one by two games over Mike at ten and six,
- 1:31:22Speaker 7: Evan and Paul at nine and seven, and Alex oh
- 1:31:27Speaker 7: seven and nine.
- 1:31:28Speaker 4: You do that.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: I don't know what happened with the spread.
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: There's a tie at the top between Fred and Mike.
- 1:31:35Speaker 7: Look at YouTube at eleven and five starts, Paul at
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: nine and seven, Alex at eight and eight, and Evan
- 1:31:43Speaker 7: six and ten.
- 1:31:43Speaker 8: I'm not as good against the spread as I am
- 1:31:45Speaker 8: with with straight up.
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: The league it separates the men.
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: They always.
- 1:31:51Speaker 8: I still think picking straight up is hard.
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: No, it isn't. It really isn't.
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: No, it's not.
- 1:31:57Speaker 7: I mean it's not.
- 1:31:58Speaker 5: It's not very I mean you just picked.
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: Once in a while, you'll have a week where it
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: just doesn't go right, but it always I mean, if
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: you have any.
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: The worst one last year was sixty sixty one games
- 1:32:08Speaker 7: over five hundred.
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: That's the worst record.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: That maybe we're just really good, but we've never like
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: we're always.
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: We do cover the league.
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: We were good.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: Well.
- 1:32:18Speaker 7: The other thing is, you know, no surprise that Fred
- 1:32:21Speaker 7: is gang Bush is week one when there's no information
- 1:32:24Speaker 7: and you're just flying by.
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: No. But but seriously, like straight up, you should always
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: be over five hundred for the season.
- 1:32:35Speaker 7: But well over yeah, like I said the sixty one
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: games over five hundred, that was the worst.
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: Yeah, the spread is meant to be fifty to fifty
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: at best. Yeah, you know, so that's tougher. That's that's
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: a lot tougher.
- 1:32:47Speaker 8: Still giving myself credit.
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: Well, someone's gotta yeah think.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: All right, So that's that.
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: What do we got tonight?
- 1:32:55Speaker 7: Freddy order has.
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: Been restored in the picks at least for one week,
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: all right tonight on Prime Video. So get your streams ready.
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: Uh the oh to one vikings, visit the one and
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: oh Eagles.
- 1:33:10Speaker 7: Eagles by six and a half. You guys will have
- 1:33:12Speaker 7: to pay attention. Let me know what happens tomorrow.
- 1:33:14Speaker 5: Six and a hey on Amazon.
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: You're not gonna watch that?
- 1:33:18Speaker 7: Probably I want to sort of wrap up only murders
- 1:33:21Speaker 7: in the building, so I'll probably watching that time.
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: You can watch that anytime, not demand.
- 1:33:25Speaker 7: No, I understand that.
- 1:33:26Speaker 8: I just want to listen to like five minutes of
- 1:33:28Speaker 8: Paul's shows on the way home tonight. Do hear Felder
- 1:33:30Speaker 8: lose a gasket about how this game is on Amazon?
- 1:33:35Speaker 7: That not for nothing, But that's kind of what you
- 1:33:37Speaker 7: sounded like before we went to practice.
- 1:33:39Speaker 8: I know you had a little Felder going, it's been tough.
- 1:33:44Speaker 8: Cutting the court has been done.
- 1:33:45Speaker 7: Eagles by six and a half, by six and a half.
- 1:33:47Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Eagles to win.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna take Minnesota with the points, though I do
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: think Philadelphia plays better. But I think on Thursday night,
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: short week, week two, so quick, I think it's gonna
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: be closer than seven or six and a half points.
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: I'm going to take the Eagles, and I'm going to
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: give the Eagles the points.
- 1:34:05Speaker 8: I'm going to Eagles. Eagles as well. I think that
- 1:34:07Speaker 8: was their preseason game last week against the Patriots, and
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: they play like the Eagles tonight.
- 1:34:13Speaker 5: Fly Eagles.
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: Yeah, they did lose some personnel, Bradbury with a concussion.
- 1:34:17Speaker 7: I think Fletcher Cox is hurt, so they they lost
- 1:34:21Speaker 7: some players too. But I'm going to take the Eagles
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: both ways because of that whole Kirk Cousins.
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: Eagles Eagles big both ways. And the narrative in New
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: England is, see, the Patriots defense could stop him and
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: the Vikings couldn't.
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: Or is the narrative going to be that the Eagles
- 1:34:37Speaker 8: were sloppy and rusty.
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: No, it's all because of the Patriots defense.
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: Just the Patriots.
- 1:34:43Speaker 4: All right, Sunday at one, We're onto the one o'clock
- 1:34:46Speaker 4: games on Sunday, the one to O Packers. Oh, by
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: the way, did you see that video that they put
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: out of Jordan Love and his backup sprinting? It had
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: to be to rub it in.
- 1:34:55Speaker 7: Right, a little bit like, yeah, come on, do you
- 1:34:58Speaker 7: think that's no good?
- 1:34:59Speaker 5: I love it? Oh?
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: Okay, I love it?
- 1:35:01Speaker 9: Like it?
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I love it. You don't like it though, far.
- 1:35:05Speaker 7: If they did it like what you're saying, And I'm
- 1:35:07Speaker 7: not dismissing your theory.
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: That's karma. I don't think that's I.
- 1:35:11Speaker 7: Don't think I just I know this is a really
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: controversial take. I don't find a lot of pleasure and
- 1:35:16Speaker 7: other guys getting serious injuries. I don't know if that
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: makes me a bad person, but I don't like it
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: when guys get hurt and they're gonna have to miss
- 1:35:23Speaker 7: a whole year.
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: One and Packers at the one and O Falcons.
- 1:35:28Speaker 7: Uh, the Falcons, I'm sorry, the Packers by one by one.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: Well, I said earlier in the show. I think they
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: they're building something down there in Atlanta. I don't know
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: how how it's going to all come to fruitional media. Yeah,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: but I think I'm going to take Atlanta at home,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: and I'll take that point.
- 1:35:45Speaker 8: Atlanta by it. It's Atlanta Falcons, Prae Packers, by road Dogs, ESPN, and.
- 1:35:52Speaker 7: I went by Draft Kings today.
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we always go by Draft Kings.
- 1:35:56Speaker 5: Did I get it wrong?
- 1:35:57Speaker 7: You have Draft Kings open, Alex?
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: I do, because there's all was a possibility.
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: That Falcons minus one.
- 1:36:02Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, I had plus one this morning.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Okay, maybe it changed, all.
- 1:36:06Speaker 7: Right, so we can make it. We can make it
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: Falcons by one. I don't really think that impact.
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:36:11Speaker 7: I'll still take us take Falcons, and so we'll go
- 1:36:13Speaker 7: Falcons by one, just to be consistent with DraftKings, because
- 1:36:16Speaker 7: I may have read if you have it open.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: Now, we might as well because that's the most current.
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: Just double double because betting on there are you no
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: sir hard for my money. The Atlanta money.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: Has been strong.
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: It moved the line.
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: It is still Falcons minus one.
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: Okay, Falcons by one, and Mike has Atlanta, Alex.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: Let's say you Alex Falcons Falcons.
- 1:36:46Speaker 8: I'm taking the pack. I like what I saw from
- 1:36:49Speaker 8: Jordan Love and Week one played well back.
- 1:36:52Speaker 7: Uh, I'm going to take the Packers as well. I
- 1:36:56Speaker 7: kind of agree with Mike. I think the Falcons might
- 1:36:58Speaker 7: be building a little, but I think the quarterback for
- 1:37:04Speaker 7: Green Bay is a little bit more advanced on the
- 1:37:05Speaker 7: quarterback for Atlanta.
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with the upset. I'll
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: take the Packers.
- 1:37:10Speaker 7: Good job, Fred put way to put them on the
- 1:37:13Speaker 7: table and way to buy your ball.
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: One o'clock one and oh Raiders at the.
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: Oh and one Bills Bills by eight and a half.
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: Eight and a half number, goodness gracious. Yeah, I think
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: I think Buffalo does bounce back. But that's a that's
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: a lot of points.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna take those points though for Vegas
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: in a in a close game, but I'll take Buffalo
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: to win.
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: I'm going to give the win and the points to Buffalo.
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: I think they got things on track again.
- 1:37:43Speaker 8: I'm with Alex Buffalo, Buffalo. This is a eleven a
- 1:37:47Speaker 8: m body clock game for the Raiders, right, they gotta come. Yeah,
- 1:37:52Speaker 8: So that's another another reason why I like the Bills.
- 1:37:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I'll take Buffalo to bounce back as well.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: I will too, as much as I hated the window
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: opens just a little bit, just a little bit, uh,
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: Sunday at one the one and O Ravens at the
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: ohen one.
- 1:38:09Speaker 7: Bengals Bengals by three and a half. Does anybody checking
- 1:38:16Speaker 7: all these to make sure I didn't screw them up?
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: Correct?
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: Does anybody own anybody in this rivalry? Paul?
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: This one is not uh, this is not ann There
- 1:38:26Speaker 7: are a couple of those coming up later.
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: I will point it out.
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: I'm gonna ask you for those. I'm gonna go with
- 1:38:31Speaker 5: Baltimore on this one.
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: You know, I think Cincinnati look pretty bad last week.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I do think, you know, they're they're better than that.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: But I think Baltimore is really good too. And I'm
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: not going to invoke save Flowers, but I just said,
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: say Flowers.
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna pick Sincy to win. I'm gonna give you
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: just like Joe Burrow.
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: I like, is that, Alex?
- 1:38:50Speaker 8: Why do you like Joe Burrow?
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Got He's an engaged man, he likes Star Wars, respect
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: to his I heard listen. I like, we haven't talked
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: about Travis Kelsey untilor Swift, but we can topic that's
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: against her.
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: Type.
- 1:39:08Speaker 7: Her toxic. Her type is toxic.
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: Her type is skinny and lame until Travis Kelcey. This
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: is going to be good for her two people at
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: the top of her.
- 1:39:15Speaker 8: I don't like that for Tailor good.
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: I don't like it.
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: I don't like it for Tailor. Whould you take?
- 1:39:20Speaker 8: Oh, I'm going to take the Ravens, all right. I'm yeah,
- 1:39:24Speaker 8: Ravens win.
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: I am.
- 1:39:26Speaker 8: I'm concerned about Burrow. He looked injured in that game
- 1:39:30Speaker 8: in Week one, and uh, this is too good of
- 1:39:33Speaker 8: a team to to play injured against.
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:39:37Speaker 7: I think it's very similar to last year. Is the
- 1:39:40Speaker 7: fact that he wasn't able to do anything all summer.
- 1:39:42Speaker 7: It's one thing to not play in the preseason. He
- 1:39:44Speaker 7: had the appendectomy last year, so he missed all the
- 1:39:46Speaker 7: preseason and the same thing this year with the injury.
- 1:39:48Speaker 7: He looked at he looked like he hadn't had any practice.
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: So I'm gonna take Cincinnati to win.
- 1:39:52Speaker 5: But I will be with Alex.
- 1:39:53Speaker 7: I'll take the points.
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: I like the the hook. I'll take the hook.
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: Folks, this is your upset, A lock of the week.
- 1:40:02Speaker 5: I hope you're right.
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: Ravens. Both ways they win.
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: I kind of like the Ravens this year.
- 1:40:06Speaker 5: I hope you're right.
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: Freddy Seahawks at the one to oh Lions.
- 1:40:19Speaker 7: Lions by five and a half.
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, let's uh, let's keep it rolling. Man.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick the Detroit Lions to win the game,
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: and I'm gonna lay the points too.
- 1:40:34Speaker 5: I'm gonna lay those points. Lay the points me too.
- 1:40:39Speaker 8: I'm taking the Lions, but I'm still I can't believe
- 1:40:42Speaker 8: in the Lions yet, so I'm gonna take the Seahawks
- 1:40:44Speaker 8: to cover.
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Lions, and I don't believe
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: in the Seahawks much, so I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: Yeah. This is a real push pull game on the margins.
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna go with the Lions to win,
- 1:40:59Speaker 4: but not cover.
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: Okay, everyone, last these real gambling faces.
- 1:41:05Speaker 7: He's now just using random terms.
- 1:41:08Speaker 4: Well, it sounds like I'm.
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: I'm like confessed, I'm like screaming at time. Sounds like
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: he knows what he's talking about.
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: Listening to this all these guys, sounds like.
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: Something outrageous with confidence.
- 1:41:19Speaker 7: R I like Dan because he gets so angry. Joe's like,
- 1:41:23Speaker 7: let's get beast bro.
- 1:41:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: One o'clock. The one Colts are at the ohen one
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: Texans who's watching?
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: So I have in this game Colts by one, Alex
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: that I messed that up to.
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: The Texans are minus one and a half on DraftKings
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: right now, Yeah, that's.
- 1:41:43Speaker 7: What I have to Texans are minus one and a half.
- 1:41:47Speaker 7: So these numbers have changed dramatically. Then, Okay, so Houston
- 1:41:52Speaker 7: by one and a half.
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: What does it mean to the sharp snow anything? What
- 1:41:56Speaker 5: do they know? I don't know, man, this is this
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: It's kind of like a thrown at dart at a
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: dark port. I'm gonna take Houston and I'll.
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: Uh and I'll lay the well before. But what did
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: you have, Paul?
- 1:42:07Speaker 7: I had the Colts by one.
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: Okay, so it's a two and a half point shift.
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: The money's coming in on the Texans.
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: Did some Colts news?
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: Well that's what I'm wondering. If there's something going on.
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: Yeah, something they know something we don't know.
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: About with Vegas Texans and the Texans.
- 1:42:26Speaker 8: Tough time with this one. I thought both quarterbacks had
- 1:42:29Speaker 8: moments where they looked good. Anthony Richardson as a passer
- 1:42:33Speaker 8: was much better than I expected. Actually, some of their
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: RPO stuff was the stuff that he was messing up
- 1:42:37Speaker 8: which is interesting.
- 1:42:39Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:42:40Speaker 8: I like the Texans. I thought Will Anderson also looked
- 1:42:43Speaker 8: really good, so I think that they're they're younger players
- 1:42:46Speaker 8: will carry them in this one.
- 1:42:48Speaker 7: So Houston Houston both ways, I am going to take
- 1:42:52Speaker 7: Houston as well. I don't feel great about it. I
- 1:42:54Speaker 7: think this is a bad team, but what are you
- 1:42:56Speaker 7: gonna do?
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a tough one, like I said on the March,
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: and this is a tough one to pick, but I
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: would say Colts. I think the Colts played a little
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: tougher against Jacksonville than I thought they would last week.
- 1:43:09Speaker 4: Maybe they're not quteeing it. So I'll go with the
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: Colts one o'clock zero to one.
- 1:43:17Speaker 7: Chiefs are at the one and oh, Jaguars Kansas City
- 1:43:21Speaker 7: by three and a half.
- 1:43:23Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: Yeah, to see Chris Jones and Kelsey both practicing today
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: as well, and that just makes me say I'm going
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: to take Kansas City. I'll lay those points and take
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: the Chiefs.
- 1:43:40Speaker 10: If the rumors are true and Travis Kelcey is really
- 1:43:42Speaker 10: dating till they're swift, then the Chiefs.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: I'm picking them a lot this year.
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: Really, you like this hook up?
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: Do you remember last.
- 1:43:50Speaker 3: Playoff season when she would be in a city and
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: then that city would win.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: I don't remember that. No one but you would remember that.
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: I just I was like, why didn't she come to Boston? Then?
- 1:44:02Speaker 5: This strange?
- 1:44:03Speaker 8: I'm surprised.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: I do like this for Taylor.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: I wanted to date like a real man.
- 1:44:07Speaker 8: That's not that's not a little that's a gronk wanna be.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: That's not a real Ronnie DJ.
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: You want the real man?
- 1:44:13Speaker 8: Talk to me when you can dig out a six technique,
- 1:44:15Speaker 8: Travis Kelsey, is that.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: Going to be in your vows? Jes When I saw
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: you underrated? Right there was underrated.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: I always knew I wanted to marry someone who could
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: dig out a sex technique.
- 1:44:27Speaker 8: So that that sounds a little weird, Mike, I think
- 1:44:30Speaker 8: it is.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: It's sex technique.
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: Sorry, So Kansas City for you, Yeah, we all need
- 1:44:39Speaker 7: to calm down.
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: Isn't that one of her?
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: That's what you should all right, that's the thing for
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: the rest of your you gotta do all your Chiefs
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: picks to a tune of the Taylor Swift.
- 1:44:49Speaker 8: I am going to take Kansas City in this game
- 1:44:53Speaker 8: both ways. But I do not like this for Taylor.
- 1:44:56Speaker 8: Swift because Travis Kelsey can't hold Gronk's jock.
- 1:44:59Speaker 7: That's so you have Kansas City. Yes, okay, I will
- 1:45:02Speaker 7: take Kansas City to win, but I will take the points.
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: On the road.
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: I'll take Jacksonville to keep it close the hook.
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: Is there something wrong in Kansas City with their offense?
- 1:45:12Speaker 5: Do you think why? I don't know. No, I think
- 1:45:15Speaker 5: things get Kelsey backed.
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: Once Kelsey back, it'll look.
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: I mean, I think every team's got a little bit
- 1:45:21Speaker 5: of growing pains.
- 1:45:22Speaker 7: I think if that jackass caught the ball, they would
- 1:45:24Speaker 7: have been fine.
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: Yeah, But I mean if you can't, then that's something
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: wrong with their offense.
- 1:45:29Speaker 7: But last year we did.
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: I'm tempted. I'm tempted to take the points, but I'm
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: gonna go Kansas City both ways. But man, go I
- 1:45:41Speaker 4: want Jaguars to win so bad, but I just can't
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: pick them. One o'clock, oh and one Bears at the
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: one and oh Buccaneers.
- 1:45:50Speaker 7: I have the Bucks by two and a half.
- 1:45:52Speaker 5: Yeah, two and a half. Sorry, I don't know, I'm
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: not this is this is when I'm not another dart
- 1:45:59Speaker 5: for the dark board. I'll take the whole team and
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: lay the points.
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: Tampa Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bucks.
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: To Baker Mayfield.
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: I think that little chip on their shoulder to people.
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: Rule and they played well.
- 1:46:12Speaker 8: Yeah, I got the Bucks both ways. The Bears are
- 1:46:14Speaker 8: a mess that that offense is an absolute mess, and
- 1:46:17Speaker 8: I I think they're gonna be picking at the top
- 1:46:19Speaker 8: of the draft gun.
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I will take the Bears outright, really, any particular
- 1:46:24Speaker 7: reason why. I think Tampa stinks and I think Minnesota
- 1:46:27Speaker 7: stunk worse and that's why they won.
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna go with the Bucks, Go Baker, Go Baker.
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: One o'clock, the one, shodgeres at the one, Titans, the
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: Lack by three. Yeah, I like the Lack.
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: I think they can bounce back. They showed they can
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: score some points and I just don't know if Tennessee's
- 1:46:50Speaker 5: got enough right now. So I'll take the Lack. Chargers.
- 1:46:53Speaker 8: Chargers, I do like me some Justin Herbert Chargers Chargers.
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I hate believing in the Chargers, but I will
- 1:47:04Speaker 7: I will take the Lack.
- 1:47:07Speaker 4: What was the spread three? Yeah, that's a tight spread.
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: I can't even get the hook.
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: Do I split the baby here?
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: What are you a dolphin? Now?
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: I'll go with charges both ways. Again tempted to take
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: the points, but I think I'm gonna regret that one.
- 1:47:25Speaker 7: Like you know how we all we just make these
- 1:47:27Speaker 7: picks and we don't really put a whole lot of thought,
- 1:47:28Speaker 7: and who cares. At the end, it does somehow bother
- 1:47:31Speaker 7: me that I lose to him. With all of the
- 1:47:34Speaker 7: hang ups that he has, he won't pick it. Literally,
- 1:47:36Speaker 7: like there's twelve teams in the league he will not
- 1:47:38Speaker 7: pick because he hates them so much, and he's still
- 1:47:40Speaker 7: won Week one.
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: I don't get it.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: Uh, Now we moved to four to oh five. There's
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: two four oh five games here, two four h five
- 1:47:50Speaker 4: games sorry oh and one Giants and a big oen
- 1:47:53Speaker 4: one at the one Cardinals.
- 1:47:56Speaker 7: A bigger Owen one. Uh the Giant by five and
- 1:48:00Speaker 7: a half.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: Oh so the draft bounce back has the Giants minus
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: four and a half right now?
- 1:48:06Speaker 7: Okay, so we make it four and a half four
- 1:48:09Speaker 7: and a half. A lot of money coming in on
- 1:48:11Speaker 7: the car. There are definitely to the sharp.
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: No, right, there are definitely some bad games here today
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: this week, but uh, I'm gonna go with the Giants.
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: I think I think Arizona's doing a loud tank and
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: I'll lay the points. Not a cute tea, not a
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: quiet tank, allowed tank, They're just like we're doing it.
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: I would concur.
- 1:48:30Speaker 8: Would you take Kyler Murray?
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: No, right now? I would, Yeah, I would. Yeah, I
- 1:48:36Speaker 5: probably would, at LEAs take a look at him.
- 1:48:38Speaker 7: I don't love him, No, but I would absolutely do that,
- 1:48:40Speaker 7: especially with Billy Oh.
- 1:48:41Speaker 8: I know, I'm not saying it's in play for the Patriots,
- 1:48:43Speaker 8: but Kyler Murray being on the move is one hundred play.
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: That's all.
- 1:48:48Speaker 5: I would do it.
- 1:48:49Speaker 7: I would do it at the deadline if I could. Nope,
- 1:48:51Speaker 7: the deadline.
- 1:48:52Speaker 5: I don't think Coler's gonna be healthy, thank you. What
- 1:48:56Speaker 5: do you got over there, Alex?
- 1:48:58Speaker 3: So I don't think it gets much worse than last
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: week for the Giants. So I'm gonna take the Giants
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: both ways.
- 1:49:05Speaker 8: I concur Giants both ways. The Cardinals by far the
- 1:49:08Speaker 8: worst team in the NFL in Week one, and in general,
- 1:49:12Speaker 8: who's the quarterback Josh Dobbs, Right, yeah.
- 1:49:15Speaker 7: Dogs, they're really like trying to lose.
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: I'll go take the Giants.
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: I'll go with the Giants both ways as well. Four
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: oh five the one and oh forty nine Ers are
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: at the one and o Rams most impressive.
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: I would say Niners.
- 1:49:31Speaker 5: It's so good. I think I dismantling. They don't have
- 1:49:35Speaker 5: a pooka in thea Kua No, but the uh, the.
- 1:49:39Speaker 7: Niners will buy seven and a half mic and this
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: is one of those. The Niners own the Rams.
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: Oh, the Niners on the Rams. In that case, I
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: appreciate that insight. I will take the Niners, and I
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: will I'm gonna lay. Yeah, I'm gonna lay points.
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: Same.
- 1:49:55Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: I'm regretting that a little bit though.
- 1:49:56Speaker 8: Now I'm taking the Niners. But that's a that's a
- 1:50:01Speaker 8: big spread for a division game. Yeah, so I'm gonna
- 1:50:04Speaker 8: I'm gonna take the Rams to cover.
- 1:50:08Speaker 4: I am.
- 1:50:08Speaker 7: I agree it is a big spread for a division game.
- 1:50:11Speaker 7: But I think the Niners, even when the Rams are
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: at full strength and viable, they just kill them. I
- 1:50:17Speaker 7: don't know why. So I'm gonna take the Niners both ways.
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: I am gonna take the Niners, but I will take
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: the point take the hook. I think the Rams, you're
- 1:50:27Speaker 4: all on the Ram. Yeah, I think they find a
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: way to keep it relatively close. But forty nine Ers
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: just start two packed, all right, four to twenty five.
- 1:50:38Speaker 4: The one and oh Jets are at the one and
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: oh Cowboys.
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: Now by nine and a half, this would have been
- 1:50:45Speaker 5: quite the game. Yeah, but I think I not much
- 1:50:49Speaker 5: hesitation here. I'll take Dallas and I'll lay the points.
- 1:50:52Speaker 8: Speaking of Dallas there he.
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: Is dak on TV.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: I will take the Cowboys. Yes, I'll give them to
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: the points too.
- 1:51:04Speaker 8: I'm taking Dallas to cover in this game. Zach Wilson
- 1:51:08Speaker 8: against that defense is going to be a long after news.
- 1:51:13Speaker 5: It's gonna be good friends with Michael Parsons.
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: But I will take Dallas. But I will absolutely take
- 1:51:18Speaker 7: nine and a half points. With that defense, I think
- 1:51:20Speaker 7: this could be a like ten to three game, Yeah, don't.
- 1:51:24Speaker 7: I wasn't impressed at all with anything Dallas did offensively
- 1:51:27Speaker 7: the other night.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: You say nine and a half points, nine and a half. Oh,
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: it's it's Dallas by nine and a half, nine and
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: a half.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: Nine times. I'll stay on it.
- 1:51:34Speaker 7: But so I will take Dallas to win the game
- 1:51:37Speaker 7: because of what Evan said. I think Zach Wilson will
- 1:51:40Speaker 7: make more mistakes. But I wasn't impressed with their offense
- 1:51:43Speaker 7: the other night, and the Jets defense is pretty solid too.
- 1:51:47Speaker 8: I was very disappointed in dak for my fantasy team.
- 1:51:51Speaker 8: They scored forty points.
- 1:51:52Speaker 7: Yeah he didn't, he didn't get any of them.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: Nope, Yeah, I will take those points.
- 1:51:59Speaker 7: Dallas wins, but the Jets cover.
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: The Jets cover. Okay, yep, this is four twenty five.
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: The one and Oero Commanders are at the zero to
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: one Broncos.
- 1:52:12Speaker 7: Broncos by three and a half. Big surprise where this
- 1:52:15Speaker 7: game is being played Fred Denver.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Of course, I didn't get to look at much at
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: the Denver game from last week, so I'm a little
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: bit flying blind here. So I'm just gonna go with
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Denver at home and I'll lay the points and see
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: how it turns out.
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: I'll take Denver at home, take the hook.
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I'm gonna give the Commanders the points.
- 1:52:41Speaker 4: Why not.
- 1:52:42Speaker 8: Russell Wilson is so washed, he really is. But I'm
- 1:52:46Speaker 8: gonna take the Broncos at home and I'll say it's
- 1:52:49Speaker 8: a three point game, so I guess Commanders.
- 1:52:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna take Denver both ways.
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: I don't know what Sean Payton did. I mean, how
- 1:52:58Speaker 7: did he make the numbers look so much better? But
- 1:52:59Speaker 7: they didn't score because Wilson had like really solid numbers,
- 1:53:06Speaker 7: but they weren't making any plays, so I wonder if
- 1:53:09Speaker 7: they're just trying to protect him in Evans.
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: Right, he's just done.
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Broncos both ways. They have
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: that home field advantage and they get it more than
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: nine times a year. Correct, All right? Now we skip
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: over the Patriots Sunday night and we moved to Monday.
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: There's a double header on ESPN and ABC, the first
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: games on ESPN.
- 1:53:34Speaker 7: It's a little odd to you, guys.
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: Seven and I don't know, Yeah, we two.
- 1:53:38Speaker 8: They did that last year, they too, I don't know
- 1:53:41Speaker 8: about I know about Week two, but they did the
- 1:53:44Speaker 8: seven the staggered start.
- 1:53:45Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I remember the seven to ten on Week one.
- 1:53:47Speaker 7: They always did.
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: But this is seven and eight, uh seven fifteen, the
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: one and oh Saints are at the oh to one Panthers.
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: Saints by three, Yes three. I will take this Saints
- 1:54:00Speaker 5: and I will lay the points.
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: As will I.
- 1:54:06Speaker 8: I like the Saints. I like them both ways. I
- 1:54:08Speaker 8: actually was pretty impressed with Derek Carr in Week one.
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: I thought he played well.
- 1:54:12Speaker 8: I thought he made some throws.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:54:14Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Saints both ways too. It's
- 1:54:16Speaker 7: gonna take a while for for Bryce Young, I too.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: Will take the Saints both ways. One thing, you know,
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: we have all of us picked some games where the
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: other team wasn't favorite, but no one. There's gonna be
- 1:54:28Speaker 4: one big upset this week, but none of us have
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: picked it yet, but there will be.
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: Is it your upset? Pick a little beaker?
- 1:54:35Speaker 7: Yeah, but that was like a three point spread, you know, Yeah,
- 1:54:39Speaker 7: Well that's because they're all small spreads. I mean there's
- 1:54:41Speaker 7: there's four games that are big spreads.
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: Yeah, but like the Cardinals could win a game, like
- 1:54:47Speaker 4: somebody's gonna win a game where he's.
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: Like, but even that's only four, you know, I know,
- 1:54:51Speaker 7: it's like, there's it. There's a six and a half,
- 1:54:53Speaker 7: eight and a half, nine and a half in the
- 1:54:55Speaker 7: seven and a half yep.
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: ABC at eight fifteen, the one and oh Browns are
- 1:55:03Speaker 4: at the oh to one Steelers.
- 1:55:07Speaker 7: Brown's by two.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: Anybody anybody own anybody in this one?
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: No, Brown's on the road by two over this Steelers.
- 1:55:15Speaker 7: Traditionally Pittsburgh is own Cleveland, but that's slight.
- 1:55:18Speaker 5: But he does days go by. But I'm gonna take
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Cleveland on the road, road favorite.
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: I saw there were some injuries there in Pittsburgh and
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: didn't quite go as planned after their hot preseason, So
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
- 1:55:29Speaker 5: Take the Browns.
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: It's almost like preseason doesn't really matter anyway.
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: Maybe that's what some people think.
- 1:55:34Speaker 10: Browns.
- 1:55:37Speaker 8: I like the Steelers in this spot. I like them
- 1:55:40Speaker 8: to bounce back. I don't believe in the Browns. I'm
- 1:55:43Speaker 8: gonna take the Steelers.
- 1:55:46Speaker 7: I'm taking the Browns. But I love Evans reasoning like
- 1:55:49Speaker 7: Mike Tomlin all of a sudden, Oh yeah, they stink again. Yeah,
- 1:55:53Speaker 7: he always finds a way. But I think Cleveland's better.
- 1:55:56Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Cleveland.
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take the brown Steelers to win this game.
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: Good spot for them. Browns are still, you know, celebrating.
- 1:56:05Speaker 7: This smelling there far last year.
- 1:56:06Speaker 5: They're smelling last week.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: So I will take the Steelers to win this game.
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: All right. Now, we go back to Sunday night eight
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: twenty on and be sure, uh they won and O
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: Dolphins are at the oh to one, Patriots Miami by.
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: Three, three, No respect, that's tough.
- 1:56:28Speaker 13: I was.
- 1:56:29Speaker 5: I can't go with my score.
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: I've been going by it else I'm gonna predict the Push,
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: so I have to change it up a little bit.
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: I am going to take the Patriots, and this one,
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: certainly the yesterday's injury report changes things.
- 1:56:38Speaker 7: If you're taking the Patriots, you don't have to worry
- 1:56:39Speaker 7: about what the spread is.
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, fair enough red, But you do need
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: a score, right, But so then I can stick with
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: my score.
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: But I don't think the.
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: Patriots are going to figure out a way to pull
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: it out. I am weird score twenty nine to twenty six.
- 1:56:54Speaker 5: It's a weird one.
- 1:56:54Speaker 8: How do you get that twenty nine?
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: I know it's weird, but they're gonna do it. Okay,
- 1:56:58Speaker 5: safety's field goals?
- 1:57:00Speaker 7: Did you not watch Week four, two thousand and one
- 1:57:02Speaker 7: Patriots Chargers?
- 1:57:04Speaker 5: Maybe Week five?
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: No?
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: Positive? Probably.
- 1:57:09Speaker 3: I'm also going to pick a Patriots upset twenty four seventeen.
- 1:57:12Speaker 5: Okay, oh, nice upset.
- 1:57:14Speaker 8: I am picking the Dolphins. I was going to pick
- 1:57:18Speaker 8: a push. I think I had twenty seven to twenty four.
- 1:57:21Speaker 8: So I can't do that right.
- 1:57:23Speaker 7: So well, you can pick the school, but you have
- 1:57:25Speaker 7: to pick one team or the other for the cover.
- 1:57:27Speaker 8: I'll take the Dolphins. Then, I just ultimately I think
- 1:57:31Speaker 8: the defense will play well. But I think too many
- 1:57:33Speaker 8: points for Miami.
- 1:57:35Speaker 7: So I opened this week really strongly liking the Patriots
- 1:57:39Speaker 7: in this one. I just felt like the spot was
- 1:57:41Speaker 7: really good for them with the cross country flight for Miami,
- 1:57:44Speaker 7: and then you go down to Miami, you have to
- 1:57:46Speaker 7: come back up the coast. Who knows they might have
- 1:57:48Speaker 7: to be traveling tomorrow depending on the weather or on Saturday.
- 1:57:53Speaker 7: I still am going to stick with the Patriots. I
- 1:57:55Speaker 7: feel a little bit less strongly about it as the
- 1:57:57Speaker 7: week has gone on. For whatever reason. It's the opposite
- 1:57:59Speaker 7: of last week. I felt like the Eagles were going
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: to blow him out the start of last week, and
- 1:58:03Speaker 7: by the time the game came around, I was like,
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: I think it's gonna be a lot closer than I thought. Yeah,
- 1:58:06Speaker 7: you've evolved, so now I'm going the other way. But
- 1:58:09Speaker 7: I'm gonna stick with the Patriots because I think it's
- 1:58:10Speaker 7: the better spot. I think New England at home back
- 1:58:13Speaker 7: to back weeks, they're you know, the offensive line is concern,
- 1:58:17Speaker 7: but I got to stay consistent to myself. I don't
- 1:58:20Speaker 7: think those things really matter as much as people think.
- 1:58:23Speaker 7: Twenty seven to twenty New England.
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: Do you hear Tua in his press conference was like
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: throwing out his stats.
- 1:58:30Speaker 5: He was like for sixty six, Oh wow, I didn't
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: know that.
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: Yeah, they're smelling themselves tool baggie.
- 1:58:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:58:36Speaker 4: They they've all of a sudden become like, you know,
- 1:58:39Speaker 4: the seventy two.
- 1:58:40Speaker 7: We need to change my feeds. I need to get
- 1:58:42Speaker 7: this where it's like the Brittany Mahomes like.
- 1:58:45Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:58:48Speaker 4: Talking about it on your show.
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: This guy that's weak.
- 1:58:50Speaker 4: That's how I think.
- 1:58:51Speaker 7: That's really really weak, Like in all seriousness, that's weak.
- 1:58:55Speaker 5: He was like trumpeting his for sixty six.
- 1:58:58Speaker 7: Baby, like that's really bad. Yeah, like in his press conference,
- 1:59:02Speaker 7: but he's talking about like he wasn't just like walking
- 1:59:05Speaker 7: back to.
- 1:59:05Speaker 5: The locker roo.
- 1:59:06Speaker 4: This is like to the media, that's really weak.
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: I hope that comes back to bite him. I hope
- 1:59:10Speaker 3: he gets memed into oblivion for that.
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Anyway, good spot for the Patriots. Dolphins think they're
- 1:59:16Speaker 4: the seventy two Miami Dolphins already.
- 1:59:19Speaker 7: Let's say the seventy two think about that.
- 1:59:22Speaker 5: I think they're the Dolphins.
- 1:59:23Speaker 4: Seventy two Dolphins undefeated team.
- 1:59:26Speaker 7: No, I get what you're saying, but it's more funny.
- 1:59:29Speaker 4: Thirty one twenty one Patriots nice.
- 1:59:33Speaker 8: They're going to score thirty one points.
- 1:59:34Speaker 4: Yeah, all of a sudden, Evan, it's gonna be a
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: very interesting Monday for you.
- 1:59:40Speaker 8: Thirty one point thirty one to break down the film
- 1:59:43Speaker 8: of a thirty one point game, what's that like?
- 1:59:45Speaker 4: Yeah, thirty one points a lot of defense.
- 1:59:47Speaker 7: I was gonna say, Kyle Duggar in then zone. That
- 1:59:50Speaker 7: doesn't count, Matthews, No, no.
- 1:59:53Speaker 4: No, So it's gonna be a great game for the Patriots,
- 1:59:57Speaker 4: a good Sunday night. Get ready, get hydrated, we'll be here.
