- 0:00Speaker 1: Still gots i gotta be honest with you bruce is
- 0:03Speaker 1: a good chance i'd be high anyway and i'm wondering
- 0:05Speaker 1: how the football weekend was were you able to watch.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It wow what happened I'm tired of him. How about that?
- 0:14Speaker 3: In company. We are mother shuckers, baby.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Reese, does Faison Brandon's name sound like it's on backwards?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 0:20Speaker 4: It's time to get your....
- 0:23Speaker 2: It's time to get your financial.
- 0:25Speaker 4: To get the all boat.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You got nothing right there.
- 0:29Speaker 4: This is not going well.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is Stu Gotts in company. Stu, back to you.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Taylor, put it on the poll, please. Are the Raiders
- 0:40Speaker 1: for real? And also put this on the poll. Was
- 0:46Speaker 1: that possibly the greatest Sunday of NFL football of all time?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Wow. Was that a great Sunday?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Wow.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Were most of those games close? Wow. Does Drake may stink?
- 0:57Speaker 4: So Stu, 12 of Sunday's 14 games were decided by
- 1:01Speaker 4: one score. It tied the record for a single day.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Six teams scored the game winning points in the final
- 1:07Speaker 4: three minutes and The witching hour was awesome. We got
- 1:10Speaker 4: the rare second witching hour from that 4 p.m.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Window.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I bashed the international game. The international game was great.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Sunday night football was great. Ravens-Cowboys was the game of
- 1:20Speaker 4: the year in Brazil for less than two hours before
- 1:22Speaker 4: Rams-Broncos took that title.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm tired of football. The entire day felt like a
- 1:29Speaker 1: witching hour. Mikey, what are you laughing at?
- 1:35Speaker 3: I'm laughing because that was why The Witching Hour was invented.
- 1:38Speaker 3: And man, did it deliver. I sat on my couch
- 1:43Speaker 3: with a smile on my face. My wife said, what's
- 1:46Speaker 3: going on? I just said. Football. Yes. Football's going on.
- 1:49Speaker 2: It does it to you.
- 1:51Speaker 3: It really does.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Was that an overreaction from Lamar Jackson after winning that game?
- 1:55Speaker 1: It felt like he won a Super Bowl. I mean,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's the third week of the regular season. He's running
- 1:59Speaker 1: around like he had just made it to the Super
- 2:01Speaker 1: Bowl or won his first, you know?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Is it bad that he ran and did like a
- 2:06Speaker 3: two-legged jump? And I just thought to myself, he's going
- 2:10Speaker 3: to break his leg. He's going to tear an ACL
- 2:12Speaker 3: celebrating a Tyler Luke kick.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Post-game celebration.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Now, normally the Cowboys have that embarrassing loss in the postseason.
- 2:21Speaker 4: It's nice of the Cowboys to kind of get it
- 2:23Speaker 4: out of the way early this season, week three.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, they had chances. George Pickens wide open in the
- 2:30Speaker 1: end zone. Dak just threw it into the stands.
- 2:33Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Let's talk about Drake May.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Taylor, what has happened here to Drake May? I'm serious.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm watching the game, and I'm thinking to myself, I
- 2:46Speaker 1: have no idea how many turnovers Drake May.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Had yesterday, but he should have had a lot more.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And I'm thinking to myself, man, this guy was in
- 2:54Speaker 1: the Super Bowl last year, and it looks like he.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Doesn't know how to play football anymore.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It was crazy to see him play that poorly against
- 3:03Speaker 1: Jacksonville yesterday.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so this stat comes from Doug Clausen. Drake May
- 3:07Speaker 4: has nine fumbles and ten interceptions since the start of
- 3:10Speaker 4: last postseason. He's the first player with nine-plus fumbles and
- 3:14Speaker 4: ten-plus interceptions in a seven-game span since Jameis Winston in 2019.
- 3:20Speaker 4: And also, the Patriots offense has scored 29 points on
- 3:23Speaker 4: 30 drives this season. That's the fewest points per drive
- 3:28Speaker 4: by any team through three games this since the 2021
- 3:31Speaker 4: Jets in the first three starts of Zach Wilson's career.
- 3:36Speaker 4: What I think has happened, Stu, is that NFL defensive
- 3:39Speaker 4: coordinators have just caught up to Drake May and understand
- 3:43Speaker 4: what Drake May struggles with. and keeps putting him in
- 3:46Speaker 4: situations that he's going to struggle. And Drake May is
- 3:49Speaker 4: a quarterback, for better or worse, and right now, for
- 3:52Speaker 4: much worse, refuses to take what defense has given.
- 3:55Speaker 2: For way worse.
- 3:56Speaker 4: For way worse.
- 3:58Speaker 2: But he looks like a clown. I felt like I
- 4:00Speaker 2: was watching the circus.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Like if football was a circus, I felt like Drake
- 4:04Speaker 1: May was the star of the circus.
- 4:06Speaker 2: He's a clown out there.
- 4:09Speaker 3: If you remember, Stu, going into the weekend, I had
- 4:12Speaker 3: Jaguars-Patriots as probably my second best game of the weekend
- 4:17Speaker 3: for the NFL. And in a weekend where we saw, what,
- 4:21Speaker 3: 12 of 14 games or 14 of 16 games get
- 4:24Speaker 3: decided by one score or less, that was the only blowout.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And Drake May is that bad. I mean, he's on
- 4:32Speaker 3: the same career trajectory right now. as Zach Wilson.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Say that out loud if you're the Patriots who told
- 4:40Speaker 3: us this was the next Tom Brady.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I would have taken Zach Wilson's career had he made
- 4:44Speaker 1: it to a Super Bowl, though.
- 4:47Speaker 2: There's a big difference.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Or the playoffs. Or anything.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I mean, this guy made it to the Super Bowl
- 4:55Speaker 1: last year, and I can't believe, I can't recall a
- 4:58Speaker 1: player who has played in a Super Bowl with so
- 5:00Speaker 1: much promise at such a young age, and then he
- 5:03Speaker 1: has gone the other way so quickly.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I just can't recall someone.
- 5:06Speaker 3: You're the Patriots.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 3: The Chargers call.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Straight up. Justin Herbert for Drake May.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Enough of them. What do you do?
- 5:15Speaker 3: What do you do?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Harbs is out with three, huh? I mean. Yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 4: I think the most frustrating thing with the Patriots right
- 5:22Speaker 4: now is it just seems like it's all mental with
- 5:24Speaker 4: Drake May where he's blaming it in the postgame that
- 5:27Speaker 4: there was blood from the center and that's why the
- 5:30Speaker 4: ball slipped out of his hand where it's like, Drake,
- 5:33Speaker 4: I can totally understand if that's actually what happened. We
- 5:36Speaker 4: don't need you going to the postgame press conference with
- 5:39Speaker 4: every excuse under the sun when you lose to the
- 5:42Speaker 4: Jacksville Jaguars in one of the only games on Sunday
- 5:45Speaker 4: that was totally uncompetitive.
- 5:47Speaker 2: There was blood from the center? What do you mean
- 5:49Speaker 2: there was blood?
- 5:50Speaker 3: What part of him was bleeding?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yes, and how about we don't blame the center who's
- 5:55Speaker 2: protecting you?
- 5:56Speaker 4: So I believe the center, Wilson, had blood on his hand,
- 5:58Speaker 4: and when he snapped the ball— Mm-hmm. the blood was
- 6:01Speaker 4: still on the ball, and it slipped out of Drake
- 6:04Speaker 4: May's hand. It was the same situation that, I don't
- 6:07Speaker 4: know if you guys saw the Oklahoma game this weekend.
- 6:08Speaker 4: John Mateer had the same exact situation, where... He's going
- 6:12Speaker 4: to throw the ball, and the ball just is not
- 6:15Speaker 4: going forward with him and just falls out of the
- 6:17Speaker 4: back of his hand. Drake May has a massive turnover
- 6:19Speaker 4: problem right now, and it seems like nobody in New
- 6:22Speaker 4: England has any idea how to solve it. And it's
- 6:24Speaker 4: almost like watching a quarterback playing with the yips right now.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I can solve it. You know, stop the bleeding. New center.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Backup center. You can't come after the post.
- 6:37Speaker 1: When you play like that, you cannot blame anyone other
- 6:40Speaker 1: than yourself for playing like that.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I don't want to hear about blood on a football.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I don't want to hear about a center who's probably
- 6:46Speaker 1: bleeding because he's protecting you from getting hit. I don't
- 6:49Speaker 1: want to hear about it. Just say, hey, I played poorly.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm not as good as I was.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I'll work on it. We'll get better. That's it. I
- 6:55Speaker 2: don't want to hear that after the game.
- 6:57Speaker 4: So I know the Eagles are playing tonight on Monday
- 6:59Speaker 4: Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
- 7:01Speaker 2: We have more football?
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yep.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 7:04Speaker 4: How do you guys think A.J. Brown is watching this
- 7:07Speaker 4: situation unfold in New England? Because he's out injured right now.
- 7:10Speaker 4: And you would think Drake May should be better when A.J.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Brown is back and fully healthy.
- 7:15Speaker 3: But A.J.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Brown has to be looking at this situation and seeing
- 7:18Speaker 4: how turnover prone Drake May has become. And the Patriots
- 7:22Speaker 4: go into the season as a team that made it
- 7:24Speaker 4: to the Super Bowl last year out of the AFC.
- 7:26Speaker 4: And now you're looking at them and questioning if this
- 7:28Speaker 4: is even a playoff team with the quarterback play right now.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And A.J.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Brown left a pretty stable situation in Philadelphia just because
- 7:36Speaker 4: he wasn't friends with the quarterback?
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm not certain there's a more stable situation anywhere in
- 7:41Speaker 1: the NFL than there is with Philadelphia.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And he left that. You're right.
- 7:45Speaker 1: He wanted out of that. He wanted away from Jalen
- 7:47Speaker 1: Hurts to go play with Drake May and be coached
- 7:51Speaker 1: by his buddy Mike Frable. I'm assuming he's not enjoying
- 7:55Speaker 1: this at all, right? Especially with the Eagles, who are
- 7:57Speaker 1: going to go 3-0 tonight because they're playing against Case Keenum.
- 8:00Speaker 2: What? Mikey, how do you feel like A.J. Brown is
- 8:05Speaker 2: experiencing all this?
- 8:07Speaker 3: I think A.J. Brown is the kind of guy that's
- 8:09Speaker 3: saying they're losing because I'm not there. I think that's A.J.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Brown's ego. I think that's why he wanted out of
- 8:16Speaker 3: Philadelphia because it wasn't stroking his ego enough. I think
- 8:19Speaker 3: he's like, well, of course they're losing. I'm not on
- 8:21Speaker 3: the field. When I get back, it'll be fixed.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I'll fix it. Yes, I'll clean up the blood.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That's the first time you've heard that excuse, right?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Bloody football?
- 8:34Speaker 3: If you can't throw a football with some blood on it,
- 8:37Speaker 3: can you even play quarterback in New England?
- 8:38Speaker 2: I mean, P.J.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Fleck. Like Tom Brady rifles that ball.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Yes, P.J. Fleck loves blood. I hate P.J. Fleck. The
- 8:45Speaker 2: P in P.J. stands for primal.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I can't stand P.J.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Fleck.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Everything he does just feels so... contrives in force, and
- 8:53Speaker 4: it's like, okay, PJ Fleck, you knew the cameras were
- 8:56Speaker 4: on you. That's why you're licking the player's blood on
- 8:59Speaker 4: your own team.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Well, he didn't lick the player's blood. That would be
- 9:01Speaker 1: weird if he was licking his face.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Everything he does is weird, though.
- 9:04Speaker 1: He hugged the player because they got a big victory.
- 9:07Speaker 1: That player had blood on his face. He wiped his face,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and then he put his blood, the player's blood, on
- 9:13Speaker 1: his own face.
- 9:14Speaker 2: It was odd. It was weird.
- 9:15Speaker 1: But football people love that stuff. If Signetti did it,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we'd be praising him today.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I mean.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Do football people love that stuff? I don't know.
- 9:27Speaker 4: I think you need a couple screws loose to love
- 9:29Speaker 4: that kind of stuff.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Right, but if Cignetti did it, would we be laughing
- 9:33Speaker 1: today or mocking Cignetti today?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Which one?
- 9:36Speaker 1: By the way, they almost lost to Northwestern and probably
- 9:39Speaker 1: should have lost to Northwestern, and that game feels like
- 9:41Speaker 1: it was played last season.
- 9:42Speaker 4: That Northwestern quarterback, Aiden Charles, sneaky good. He's good. So
- 9:46Speaker 4: that Northwestern team isn't sneaky good?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:49Speaker 4: But they're sneaky tough.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yes. They'll drag you into the mud.
- 9:54Speaker 4: You're going to go into the game against Northwestern this
- 9:57Speaker 4: season and be a 21-point favorite.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:59Speaker 4: And that's almost going to lull you to sleep.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:02Speaker 4: And then once they lull you to sleep, that coach
- 10:04Speaker 4: for Northwestern, who is it, Braun?
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Braun and Aiden Childs, a sneaky good duo together.
- 10:11Speaker 2: David Braun, yes. Well, Chip Kelly.
- 10:13Speaker 4: He's way too good for Northwestern, by the way.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Been on the show.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Respectfully.
- 10:17Speaker 4: I say that respectfully. He's way too good for Northwestern.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Chip Kelly is also there, right? And you know Chip
- 10:22Speaker 1: is taking credit for them being good, much the way A.J.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Brown is taking credit for the Patriots not being good.
- 10:27Speaker 1: yes is that fair yes um anyway what outcome surprised
- 10:31Speaker 1: you the most mikey a from all the games yesterday
- 10:33Speaker 1: was there an outcome that because i'm laughing here the
- 10:36Speaker 1: raiders are three you know the rams are one and
- 10:38Speaker 1: two the browns are two and one we know nothing
- 10:40Speaker 1: we don't know what we're watching on every uh every
- 10:43Speaker 1: sunday and so what's what outcome surprised you the most here.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I mean the browns being two and one is ridiculous
- 10:48Speaker 3: but when you when you look at how uncompetitive that
- 10:52Speaker 3: Jaguars-Patriots game, that was the most surprising to me. I
- 10:55Speaker 3: thought we were going to get a really good game there,
- 10:58Speaker 3: and Drake May is just that bad.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he really is. Taylor, how about you? The outcome
- 11:03Speaker 2: that surprised you the most?
- 11:05Speaker 4: The most surprising outcome has to be the Commanders beating
- 11:09Speaker 4: the Seahawks, where the Seahawks get Sam Darnold back. The
- 11:12Speaker 4: Commanders are starting Marcus Mariota. And the Commanders just found
- 11:15Speaker 4: a way to win. They pulled ahead. They were up
- 11:17Speaker 4: by double digits late. And you were thinking the game
- 11:20Speaker 4: was over. And then it felt like you blinked and
- 11:23Speaker 4: the Seahawks scored to make it a one-score game again.
- 11:25Speaker 4: And then the Commanders just had another answer after that.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Right. Do they have a quarterback controversy in Washington? I mean,
- 11:32Speaker 2: Mariota looks good. He is an old 32. When I
- 11:38Speaker 2: looked up.
- 11:38Speaker 4: How old Marcus Mariota was, I was expecting to see, like,
- 11:43Speaker 4: I don't know what my mind was doing. I was
- 11:44Speaker 4: expecting to see at least 37 or 38, even though
- 11:47Speaker 4: the timelines line up for his senior year was my
- 11:50Speaker 4: senior year at Oregon, and I should have remembered that Like,
- 11:55Speaker 4: those timelines overlap, but something about Marcus Mariota's time in
- 11:58Speaker 4: the NFL, it feels like he's aging in, like, dog years.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Right, so he's a young 32, or young 30s, right? No,
- 12:04Speaker 2: he's an old 32. Really? Well, he played like a
- 12:07Speaker 2: young man, though, yesterday.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he turned back the clocks yesterday. But
- 12:10Speaker 4: when I just say the name Marcus Mariota, I just
- 12:13Speaker 4: assume he's... He's like 39 and coming up on retirement.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Just holding a clipboard.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Just hanging off for, you know, a couple of million
- 12:20Speaker 1: dollar paychecks.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Now he might get an extension from the Jets. Who knows?
- 12:28Speaker 2: You leaned into that one.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Mine was the Steelers beating the Bengals.
- 12:33Speaker 2: It was.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I mean, I know they drag you into the mud,
- 12:35Speaker 1: but in this particular case, they didn't drag anyone into
- 12:38Speaker 1: the mud. They won a game 30-27. I was surprised
- 12:41Speaker 1: to see the Steelers pull that out against Joe Burrow.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I really was.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah, the Steelers' offense completely flipped the script from Week
- 12:48Speaker 4: 1 and Week 2, where Week 1 and Week 2,
- 12:49Speaker 4: they scored 23 total points. And then yesterday, they scored
- 12:53Speaker 4: 30 points, 411 total yards. seven yards per play, three
- 12:57Speaker 4: passing touchdowns for Aaron Rodgers in that offense. I kind
- 13:01Speaker 4: of wrote this offense off just because I thought Aaron
- 13:04Speaker 4: Rodgers was too old to be playing at the quarterback position.
- 13:06Speaker 2: He's a young 42.
- 13:07Speaker 4: And through the first two weeks, I thought the Bengals
- 13:10Speaker 4: were a pretty good defense. And now after this game,
- 13:14Speaker 4: I don't know what's up. If you tell me the
- 13:16Speaker 4: sky is blue, I'm questioning if the sky is actually blue.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I don't know what anything is happening anymore.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 13:22Speaker 3: We've talked about how good Joe Burrow is. He's, he's,
- 13:25Speaker 3: he was on your list for greatest of all time.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I saw this and it blew my mind. Joe Burrow
- 13:30Speaker 3: is one and 34. If his team is trailing with
- 13:34Speaker 3: eight minutes or less in the.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Game, that is shocking.
- 13:36Speaker 3: He does not come back. He does not lead his
- 13:40Speaker 3: team down for a final, for a final game winning
- 13:43Speaker 3: touchdown or field goal. If they're losing late, They lost.
- 13:47Speaker 1: That is shocking to me because Joe Cool, all the
- 13:50Speaker 1: characteristics we assigned to that guy, but he closes games, right?
- 13:53Speaker 2: If he's up by seven.
- 13:55Speaker 1: He can close out a game, but you're saying he
- 13:58Speaker 1: can't come back with less than eight minutes to go
- 14:00Speaker 1: on the clock.
- 14:02Speaker 3: One and 34. He can't. That's as sure as you're
- 14:05Speaker 3: going to get in the NFL.
- 14:06Speaker 1: That's a sample size of 35. I am shocked to
- 14:09Speaker 1: hear that. It's the most shocking stat I've ever heard
- 14:11Speaker 1: in my entire life. You figured he stumbled into a
- 14:14Speaker 1: second comeback with under eight minutes to go in the game.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 14:19Speaker 3: He did once in like 2022 against the Saints. There's
- 14:21Speaker 3: your one.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah. How'd you feel about our Jets yesterday? I am.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I am. I am so pessimistic about that team that
- 14:34Speaker 3: I don't. I'm not sure I want to watch them anymore.
- 14:39Speaker 2: It's too frustrating. It hurts too much.
- 14:41Speaker 3: It's too frustrating. You know what it is, is that they're,
- 14:44Speaker 3: they're competent. So it's like, yay, that's awesome. But all
- 14:48Speaker 3: of their top picks, all of the reasons that we're saying, Oh,
- 14:50Speaker 3: we're so close. They all stink.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 14:53Speaker 3: They all suck. Olufesanu, the left tackle, they took top 10,
- 14:57Speaker 3: gave up two and a half sacks. Their right tackle,
- 15:01Speaker 3: swing and miss blocks. Their pass rusher, Will McDonald, he's
- 15:06Speaker 3: on the field for 22% of the defensive snaps. He's non-existent.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Yes. They could just as easily be 0-3. Or 3-0.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Easily. Yes.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I want to start that as a weekly segment. They
- 15:19Speaker 1: could just as easily be. Because you can do that
- 15:22Speaker 1: with so many teams, right? The Raiders could just as
- 15:25Speaker 1: easily be 0-3. They're 3-0, right? Yeah, it's a good observation.
- 15:31Speaker 2: It's a good segment, just as easily.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Speaking of observations, the weekend observations.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Coming up next.

- 15:54Speaker 1: a touchdown.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I mean, come on.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Everyone loves a big man touchdown. And this NFL season,

- 17:16Speaker 1: a second college football which you got some bear coming
- 17:19Speaker 1: up as well we're gonna have dan lanning on today
- 17:21Speaker 1: Looking forward to that. Mikey, what has happened here with
- 17:24Speaker 1: A-Chan from the Dolphins who are giving a clinic on how.
- 17:26Speaker 2: To tank a season? I mean, that's how you do it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You play a close game, closer than people expected against
- 17:32Speaker 1: the Chiefs. You lose that game, you're 0-3. You are
- 17:35Speaker 1: marching for arch right now. What happened to A-Chan?
- 17:39Speaker 3: You don't want to see it, but according to Adam Schefter,
- 17:41Speaker 3: he tore his ACL. His season is done. One of
- 17:44Speaker 3: the lone bright spots on that Dolphins team out for
- 17:48Speaker 3: the season.
- 17:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Mikey, are you ready for the weekend observations?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Ready as I'm going to be.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Let's do it. Mikey! I was yelling a lot this
- 18:06Speaker 2: weekend on my TV. All my bad bets.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Oh, and you had a lot.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Oh, I know. That's why I was yelling.
- 18:14Speaker 1: As an undrafted player, he knew he had his work
- 18:18Speaker 1: cut out for him. And that opportunities would be few
- 18:21Speaker 1: and far between. But when he got his chance, he
- 18:25Speaker 1: made the most of it.
- 18:27Speaker 2: And then some.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Leading the NFL in touchdowns in 2021 and 2022. But
- 18:35Speaker 1: an Achilles injury sidelined him. And people thought that could
- 18:39Speaker 1: be the end of his career. But, Mikey, you should never,
- 18:44Speaker 1: ever count him out. And just like that, make no
- 18:48Speaker 1: mistake about it. Pending a physical in the nation's capital,
- 18:53Speaker 1: our boy, Austin Eckler, is back.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Yes! Pending a physical.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Pending a physical.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Drake may be a bust. Drake may more like Drake.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Maybe not.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Nobody has gone from having it to not having it
- 19:24Speaker 1: faster than Drake.
- 19:25Speaker 2: May Mikey, you know what the D and Drake may
- 19:28Speaker 2: stands for.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Doesn't have it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you are on your game. Look at you. Yes.
- 19:34Speaker 1: In 20 years, we'll never be able to explain how
- 19:38Speaker 1: Drake May made a Super Bowl before Josh Allen.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Or Lamar Jackson. Jesus.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Or Caleb Williams.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Well, wait a minute. Just rest. Give me a second.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Where was I? A lot of footballs. Or Herbert. Well,
- 20:00Speaker 2: I'm tired of Herbert. Jesus. And Horvath. And McDaniel. You
- 20:08Speaker 2: know what time it is in New England right now?
- 20:12Speaker 3: What time is it?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Panic time.
- 20:16Speaker 1: You know what the P in Patriot stands for, Mikey? Panic.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Boom.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I didn't have to turn the audio on to tell
- 20:24Speaker 1: you that Mark Slayrith was calling Panthers Browns.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Stink.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Poor stink.
- 20:31Speaker 2: That was a good game.
- 20:32Speaker 4: I could guess every game he's calling every week.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It was a good game, but they were all good games.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Browns 2-1. Those fans didn't seem to mind cheering for
- 20:43Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson towards the end of that game yesterday.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Sorry. Tricky topic. They were cheering. Buffalo Bills, do me
- 20:56Speaker 2: a favor and burn those jerseys. Thank you. Terrible. Awful.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Those were ugly.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You're in a new stadium, second game, just wear the
- 21:06Speaker 1: traditional Buffalo Bill jerseys, uniforms, all.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Of it, right?
- 21:11Speaker 3: Taylor, you remember when you said those were the ugliest
- 21:13Speaker 3: jerseys you've ever seen? Yeah. Turns out you were right.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Jim Harbaugh, do it without Connor Stallions.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Browns fans, changing their tune about Deshaun Watson. Now that
- 21:26Speaker 1: they've won two straight, embarrassing. Also, the Stugats is strong
- 21:32Speaker 1: in you.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Care about my feel-good, man.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I mean, what he did off the field is awful, despicable,
- 21:39Speaker 1: and probably shouldn't be playing football anymore.
- 21:41Speaker 2: But he is playing football. And Browns fans, they felt
- 21:44Speaker 2: good yesterday.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And they're 2-1. And the Sugats are strong in all
- 21:48Speaker 1: of them. I don't like that label, Till.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I don't know why I'm blaming you. I wrote them.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Giants.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Titans.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That was less football. And more rock fight. I was
- 22:06Speaker 1: so hoping the Ravens lost that game. So John Harbaugh
- 22:10Speaker 1: was 2-1 with Jameis Winston. And the Ravens coach, whoever
- 22:15Speaker 1: it is, was 1-2 with Lamar Jackson. Cam Ward saying
- 22:20Speaker 1: he likes third and longs.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Good.
- 22:23Speaker 2: It's all he knows.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You'd think he'd be better at it. Cam Ward lives
- 22:29Speaker 1: on the corner of third and long. Put that on
- 22:34Speaker 1: the Paul Taylor. Does Cam Ward live on the corner
- 22:37Speaker 1: of 3rd and Longstreet? That interception to end the game
- 22:46Speaker 1: from Cam Ward.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Mikey.
- 22:50Speaker 3: That was bad.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I know. You know what the W in Cam Ward
- 22:54Speaker 2: stands for? You got it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Congratulations to Raiders coach Clint Kubiak for winning coach of
- 23:03Speaker 1: the year after only three weeks.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Here's something to ponder. Are the Seahawks better with Drew Locke?
- 23:16Speaker 1: No need to discuss now. Just stash it away for
- 23:19Speaker 1: a rainy day. Although Mikey wants to discuss it right now.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Today he wants to discuss it.
- 23:23Speaker 2: He does.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I did want to discuss it, but then I looked
- 23:26Speaker 3: and I'm like, that defense gave up 30-something points.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:28Speaker 3: That's not what I'm saying.
- 23:30Speaker 2: And Darnold played well. Right. I mean, for the most part.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Speaking of quarterback controversy, Washington Commanders.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Marcus Mariota. Take a bow. Marcus Mariota.
- 23:45Speaker 1: 3-0 now against the Seattle Seahawks.
- 23:48Speaker 2: You know what that means, right, Mikey?
- 23:51Speaker 3: Has their number.
- 23:52Speaker 2: He does have their number. Yes, he does.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota winning on the same day.
- 24:00Speaker 1: 2015 called. They want their quarterbacks back. Ravens-Cowboys, best international
- 24:15Speaker 1: game ever. Ravens-Cowboys, game of the year. If you give
- 24:20Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson seven seconds, you've given.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Him too much time. That's crazy.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Seven seconds too much time in the NFL now?
- 24:28Speaker 2: For him. Just him. Maybe Josh Allen, Mahomes, right? Those guys.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Mahomes, yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Not Burrow.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Stafford.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Not Burrow. Can't do it. Stafford, right.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. The only thing prevent defense prevents is winning.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Sure.
- 24:52Speaker 1: When Tyler Loop made that kick, I turned to Abby
- 24:56Speaker 1: and said, Loop, there it is. She said, what? And
- 25:02Speaker 1: I said, Loop, there it is. Tried for a second time.
- 25:08Speaker 1: She responded for a second time.
- 25:10Speaker 2: What? I said, never mind. Loop, there it is.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Tag team back again.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I keep trying, and she keeps.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Check it, direct it, let's begin. Party on, party people,
- 25:22Speaker 3: let me hear some noise. DC's in the house, jump,
- 25:24Speaker 3: jump for joy. Set a party over here, party over here.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Wave your hands in the air, shake your derriere.
- 25:28Speaker 2: He was a party starter, I mean. I know it's
- 25:30Speaker 2: hard to believe. But he was. That's the most impressed
- 25:36Speaker 2: I've ever been with you.
- 25:38Speaker 3: These three words mean getting busy. Whoop, there it is.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Fitting for a game in a soccer country. To end
- 25:45Speaker 2: on a kick. Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Jim Nance calling it a trio in Rio. He's still
- 25:53Speaker 1: got it and always will.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 1: You can call the rest of my games for the
- 25:59Speaker 1: remainder of time. Just going back to last week.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Going to make me put him back in the running, huh?
- 26:05Speaker 2: He's earned it. Trio in Rio. Cowboys, America's team. Ravens,
- 26:14Speaker 2: Brazil's team.
- 26:19Speaker 4: That national anthem felt like it was never going to end.
- 26:23Speaker 4: The Brazil one.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Put it on the poll.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Did the Brazilian national anthem feel like it was never
- 26:28Speaker 1: going to end? You know what the B in Baltimore
- 26:32Speaker 1: stands for, Mikey?
- 26:35Speaker 2: Brazil. For as good as Ravens Cowboys was, Bucks Vikings
- 26:43Speaker 2: was that bad. It was. The Bucs are 0-3 in
- 26:48Speaker 2: just a game back in that division. Everyone else is 1-2, right?
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yes.
- 26:55Speaker 2: The only predictable thing in the NFL is that division.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Put it on the poll.
- 27:05Speaker 1: When I say I miss football in March, just remind
- 27:08Speaker 1: me of Bucs-Vikings, and I'll be.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Good until August.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield was better with a chip on his shoulder.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Ridiculous. How dare they give him an extra $ 65 million
- 27:26Speaker 2: in another year? Let him play for that. Stupid.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Brian Flores, or as I called him last week, Robert Flores,
- 27:36Speaker 1: row flow. Brian Flores, back must hurt, carrying Kevin O'Connell
- 27:43Speaker 1: and that offense.
- 27:45Speaker 3: How dare you?
- 27:47Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 27:49Speaker 3: Kevin O'Connell, quarterback whisperer.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Mikey, credit pie, Brian Flores is getting at least 90%
- 27:54Speaker 4: of the credit.
- 27:54Speaker 2: He should, I mean.
- 27:55Speaker 4: For the 3-0 start.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yes, he should. I mean, they won two of those
- 27:59Speaker 2: games with Carson Wentz, Mike. Quarterback whisperer. You have to
- 28:07Speaker 2: whisper it. Do you think J.J.
- 28:11Speaker 1: McCarthy watches Kyler Murray and thinks... They think I'm worse
- 28:16Speaker 1: than this?
- 28:16Speaker 2: I do.
- 28:20Speaker 4: He can't see over the line.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Kyler.
- 28:24Speaker 4: No, yes, yes. Kyler for sure can't see over the line.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Right. I know. And I do believe J.J. McCarthy looks
- 28:32Speaker 2: at him and says that to himself.
- 28:36Speaker 1: The Minnesota Vikings are the worst 3-0 team in NFL history.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Them and the Raiders?
- 28:42Speaker 3: Huh? I was going to say there's a phone call.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I believe it's coming from Vegas.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I don't think the Raiders are a bad 3-0. I
- 28:48Speaker 4: think that team is like sneaky good.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I got to tell you, Kirk Cousins is turning back
- 28:52Speaker 1: the clock. We are not seeing Mendoza this season.
- 28:54Speaker 2: We're not. Waste of a pick.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Everything Aaron Rodgers does looks like it hurts. He played
- 29:09Speaker 1: well yesterday. You have to give him credit.
- 29:11Speaker 2: He did. Between T.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Higgins and Jamar Chase, the Bengals have a catch of
- 29:19Speaker 1: the year every week.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I saw that T. Higgins catch. Oh, my God, was
- 29:25Speaker 2: that good. Darnell Washington doesn't run. He rumbles.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Every Steelers win feels like it ends with six people
- 29:36Speaker 1: diving on.
- 29:37Speaker 2: A loose football. Just the way they like it. They
- 29:41Speaker 2: drag you into the mud.
- 29:44Speaker 1: If you're a football referee, your only job from Monday
- 29:48Speaker 1: to Friday should be arm day.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Just five days of arm day? Six days, really. Cults.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Had lost nine straight games. You know what that means, Mikey?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Oh, they were due.
- 30:06Speaker 2: The due theory, yes. C.J. Stroud. Throwing a last-second Hail
- 30:11Speaker 2: Mary attempt out of bounds. C.J. Stroud. Never change.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Unless you want to win.
- 30:22Speaker 2: How do you throw it out of bounds? Just throw
- 30:24Speaker 2: it up somewhere.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Just give your guy a chance.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Anyone.
- 30:26Speaker 2: I mean, not the fans, your players.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Jameer Gibbs leads the league in plays that make my
- 30:35Speaker 1: jaw drop.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Yeah. He's so good.
- 30:39Speaker 3: He is so good.
- 30:40Speaker 1: The J in Jameer Gibbs stands for jaw dropped. I
- 30:46Speaker 1: don't like watching him play against my team, though, I
- 30:48Speaker 1: can tell you that much. I like watching him play,
- 30:50Speaker 1: just not against my team.
- 30:51Speaker 3: I look forward to next week when he's playing somebody else.
- 30:53Speaker 2: I'll watch him with a smile on my face.
- 30:58Speaker 1: If I were drafting NFL colors, Lions Honolulu Blue would
- 31:03Speaker 1: go one.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Did I say that correctly?
- 31:07Speaker 3: One-one.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Oh, one-one. Okay, sorry. I thought it was a typo
- 31:11Speaker 2: with two ones. I have no idea. I'm old. Matthew
- 31:14Speaker 2: Stafford could scoot.
- 31:17Speaker 1: The S in Stafford stands for scoot.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Jacoby Brissett. Just good enough to keep it close.
- 31:23Speaker 1: The J and Jokobi percent stands for.
- 31:26Speaker 2: You know what it is, Mikey?
- 31:29Speaker 3: Just keep it close.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Just good enough to keep it close.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Green Bay Packers. Have the wrong LaFleur. Arizona Cardinals. Pesky. Death. Taxes.
- 31:43Speaker 2: And the 49ers.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Losing half their roster by October. They might be the
- 31:49Speaker 1: best team in football.
- 31:51Speaker 4: I mean, that's not sustainable, though. Well, you're right.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Well, as long as Purdy's there, though. Lincoln Riley, fraud.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley's next signature win at USC will be his first.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Dylan Rayola, legacy game. He's back. That was gutsy. He
- 32:17Speaker 2: was gutsy.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I liked it.
- 32:20Speaker 1: After years of trying to imitate Patrick Mahomes, Dylan Rayola
- 32:25Speaker 1: finally nailed it.
- 32:28Speaker 2: He did.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Mikey, close your eyes and imagine this. Next year, Dylan Rayola,
- 32:36Speaker 1: New York Jets starting quarterback.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Can't see it.
- 32:41Speaker 4: I can talk myself into it.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I can talk myself into anything.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Of course you can.
- 32:44Speaker 2: He looks good, man.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Why did he go somewhere to be a backup?
- 32:47Speaker 2: Who knows? Well, it worked out for him. Right? Unfortunately.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Oklahoma, the rare team to leave the Big 12, join the.
- 32:58Speaker 2: SEC, and become a Big Ten team.
- 33:05Speaker 1: If you thought the John Mateer experience couldn't get worse,
- 33:10Speaker 1: it can, and it did.
- 33:14Speaker 3: It did.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, end of an era. Tip of
- 33:20Speaker 2: the caps?
- 33:22Speaker 4: I'll tip my cap.
- 33:23Speaker 2: All right.
- 33:24Speaker 1: That's nice of you. He just tipped his cap without
- 33:28Speaker 1: wearing a hat today. It's like he does that thing,
- 33:31Speaker 1: you know, with a pen, and he's writing into a
- 33:33Speaker 1: fake piece of paper.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Looks like he's doing it with a chisel.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Yeah, with a chisel, yes.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Nobody throws in front of the line of scrimmage more
- 33:42Speaker 1: than Arch Manning. You know what the A in Arch
- 33:45Speaker 1: stands for, Mikey?
- 33:47Speaker 3: I don't.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Not awareness.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons penalized for simulating use of restroom.
- 33:59Speaker 1: When Simmons got back to the sidelines, his coaches probably told.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Him you're in trouble.
- 34:07Speaker 3: You're in trouble.
- 34:09Speaker 2: You're in trouble. Yeah. You're in trouble.
- 34:13Speaker 4: You're in trouble.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Yeah. You're in trouble.
- 34:15Speaker 3: It's a shitty joke.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I'll just flush it. You're in trouble. Was my cadence
- 34:31Speaker 2: wrong on the first one?
- 34:32Speaker 3: No, I just was hammering it home.
- 34:40Speaker 1: If that's his celebration, while wearing number one, I'd hate
- 34:44Speaker 1: to see what his celebration is if he wore number two.
- 34:50Speaker 1: My wife thought he should have been kicked out of
- 34:52Speaker 1: the game, should never play again.
- 34:53Speaker 2: She was like, why would he do that? I was
- 34:55Speaker 2: explaining John Randall at all fours, pretending that he was
- 34:58Speaker 2: a dog and pooping after he sacked the quarterback. Remember
- 35:00Speaker 2: that guy?
- 35:00Speaker 3: I thought he lifted his leg.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Well, he did. Did he urine? You're in trouble.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Elijah Moore did that, too, once in the Egg Bowl.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Was he pooping or peeing, Mikey?
- 35:12Speaker 3: Well, dogs don't lift their leg to poop. That'd be hard.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Colin Simmons, the rare player to play pissed off after
