- 1:11Speaker 1: It's Oh Willie Wednesday. Thanks for being with us. This
- 1:15Speaker 1: portion of the program is brought to you by Radiant Dentistry.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Coming up, we're going to hear from embattled Alabama football
- 1:23Speaker 1: coach Kalen DeBoer. Scott Clendenin is with us. Mallory is
- 1:26Speaker 1: here with some entertainment news in the second hour of
- 1:31Speaker 1: the program. And we'll take your phone calls at 1-888-888-8888.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So get in line. And have something to say. Maryland
- 1:47Speaker 1: has fired Mike Loxley as its football coach. He has
- 1:51Speaker 1: lost 12 straight Big Ten games. Loxley 39-54 in eight
- 1:57Speaker 1: years with the Terps, but 10-21 since 2024. His contract
- 2:08Speaker 1: was $ 6. 4 million this year, running through 2028, a buyout
- 2:13Speaker 1: of $ 9. 75 million, according to Pete Thamble of ESPN. Longtime
- 2:20Speaker 1: assistant Azar Abdul-Rahim is the interim head coach. Strong ties
- 2:27Speaker 1: to the Washington, D.C.
- 2:29Speaker 7: Area.
- 2:30Speaker 1: The Terps are on a bye week. We'll... host Illinois
- 2:37Speaker 1: next Saturday. They're coming off a loss to Rutgers. More
- 2:44Speaker 1: college football tonight. Sam Houston is in Huntsville hosting New
- 2:50Speaker 1: Mexico State. The Bearcats just won and five last night.
- 2:55Speaker 1: In case you missed it, and I'm guessing most of
- 2:58Speaker 1: you did, Middle Tennessee beat Florida International 26-23. Delaware threw
- 3:07Speaker 1: a 61-burger at Missouri State, 61-38. And Marshall beat South
- 3:14Speaker 1: Alabama 20-13. More football tomorrow night. James Madison at App State.
- 3:23Speaker 1: East Carolina and Memphis. More Friday night. And, of course,
- 3:28Speaker 1: a full slate of games on Saturday night. I don't
- 3:33Speaker 1: expect Saturday to be quite as wild and crazy as
- 3:38Speaker 1: it was last Saturday. I don't see how it could be.
- 3:45Speaker 1: AP has named its preseason All-American team in basketball. Michigan
- 3:54Speaker 1: State guard Jeremy Fears was the highest vote getter. Thomas
- 3:58Speaker 1: Houck of Florida. Tyler Tanner at Vanderbilt, David Murkovic at Illinois,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and Mateus Krivas at Arizona. Second team, according to the votes,
- 4:14Speaker 1: Flory Badunga at Louisville, Brayton Mullins at UConn, John Blackwell
- 4:20Speaker 1: at Duke, Robert Wright, and J.T. Toppin at Texas. J.T.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Toppin is back. You know he's 103 years old. This
- 4:32Speaker 1: will be his 54th season in Lubbock. Yankees general manager
- 4:37Speaker 1: Brian Cashman has reached a new deal to continue to
- 4:43Speaker 1: be the GM, where he has been since 1998. Owner
- 4:49Speaker 1: Hal Steinbrenner blaming the players. We just have to bang
- 4:54Speaker 1: out some minor stuff on the back end of it,
- 4:56Speaker 1: said Cashman. Yeah, we're locked and loaded. The Yankees have
- 5:00Speaker 1: won four world titles and 15 AL East titles under Cashman,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but they haven't gotten to the World Series since 2009.
- 5:09Speaker 1: The 17-year drought is the second longest in franchise history.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The Yankees had their third straight 90-win season. They finished
- 5:23Speaker 1: second in the AL East behind the Rays. who swept
- 5:26Speaker 1: New York in the ALDS en route to reaching their
- 5:31Speaker 1: third World Series since 2008. I say Tampa is going
- 5:37Speaker 1: to the World Series for the third time in the
- 5:40Speaker 1: last 20 years. The Rays. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Angels have
- 5:48Speaker 1: fired Kurt Suzuki after just one year this past season.
- 5:55Speaker 1: He guided the Halos to a franchise record 100 losses.
- 6:02Speaker 1: GM John Mosleyak said, Kurt has earned tremendous respect in
- 6:06Speaker 1: our clubhouse. I guess when you lose 100 games, you
- 6:10Speaker 1: get the respect of the players. I do not believe
- 6:13Speaker 1: our record this year was a true reflection of his
- 6:16Speaker 1: abilities as a manager. Again, that's good news. I'm pleased
- 6:21Speaker 1: we were able to offer Kurt a role to stay
- 6:23Speaker 1: on as special assistant. Blah, blah, blah. You know, Los
- 6:29Speaker 1: Angeles has new owners. We talked about this. They're going
- 6:33Speaker 1: to be dangerous because this ownership has a history of winning.
- 6:42Speaker 1: And the AL West is certainly there for the taking
- 6:50Speaker 1: because it was the weakest division in baseball this year.
- 6:56Speaker 1: with the Astros going to the playoffs with a 500 record.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So look out for the Angels. I know they haven't
- 7:06Speaker 1: been good, but I'm telling you, this new ownership is
- 7:11Speaker 1: not going to put up with mediocre, unlike some ownerships,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you know, fairly close to where I'm talking right now
- 7:22Speaker 1: up in Arlington. Okay. We're going to take a break.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Scott Clendenin is here this afternoon. I will tell you
- 7:31Speaker 1: tomorrow we've got our Clark Eisenhower outdoor edition. We've got
- 7:37Speaker 1: several nasty animals to talk about attacking. We have got
- 7:41Speaker 1: a high school report tomorrow. We're going to hear from
- 7:45Speaker 1: some Aggie football players tomorrow. I don't know. We may
- 7:51Speaker 1: play Sark just for the heck of it. I mean,
- 7:53Speaker 1: what is a week without the great? Steve Sarkeesian. I'm
- 7:57Speaker 1: not sure about that, by the way. Friday, our regular
- 8:02Speaker 1: visits with Tony Catalina of 247 Sports and Kurt Bowles
- 8:08Speaker 1: of the Houston Chronicle. We will visit with him as
- 8:12Speaker 1: we do every Friday. Next Monday, Writers' Roundtable. Next Tuesday,
- 8:23Speaker 1: Best-Selling Author TV host, raconteur Bill O'Reilly joins me next
- 8:32Speaker 1: Tuesday on the show. He has a new book out
- 8:35Speaker 1: called Confronting America. So phone the neighbors, wake the kids,
- 8:42Speaker 1: tell them next week will be a good show. We had,
- 8:45Speaker 1: by the way, if you're tuning in, I want to
- 8:47Speaker 1: apologize because we had our best show of the week yesterday.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And I don't know that we can duplicate that. If
- 8:55Speaker 1: you missed the interview we did with Michael Starr on
- 8:58Speaker 1: his book on Bob Newhart, you can always find it
- 9:03Speaker 1: on our Web page at Chip Howard dot com. And
- 9:08Speaker 1: it will also be in the interview section where we
- 9:11Speaker 1: put some of our better interviews. So we've got that
- 9:14Speaker 1: going on for us, which is nice. When we come back,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we're going to hear from Kalen DeBoer after this for
- 9:20Speaker 1: Chad Jones Law.
- 9:23Speaker 8: I'm Chad Jones. We know sports injuries hurt, and so
- 9:26Speaker 8: do injuries from car wrecks. But you didn't sign up
- 9:28Speaker 8: to be in a car wreck with someone who wasn't
- 9:30Speaker 8: paying attention. It was their fault, and now you're left
- 9:33Speaker 8: to deal with the consequences. You need to see a doctor,
- 9:35Speaker 8: and you're missing work. Chad Jones Law can help. We've

- 10:25Speaker 4: Georgia The whole day through And just an old sweet
- 10:37Speaker 4: song Keeps Georgia on my mind Georgia Georgia, a song
- 11:01Speaker 4: of you comes.
- 11:05Speaker 1: As sweet and clear.
- 11:09Speaker 4: As moonlight through the pines. Other arms reach out to
- 11:25Speaker 4: me Other eyes smile tenderly Still in peaceful dreams I
- 11:39Speaker 4: see The road leads back to you Georgia.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us. It is a Wednesday here on
- 11:55Speaker 1: The Big Show. Mallory will be along in the second
- 11:59Speaker 1: hour with some entertainment news. Got some good entertainment news
- 12:08Speaker 1: today and some bad entertainment news, unfortunately. Kalen DeBoer, he
- 12:17Speaker 1: needs a win in Tuscaloosa. I'm not saying he needs
- 12:21Speaker 1: it worse than Mike Elko, but he needs a win.
- 12:28Speaker 1: The people in Tuscaloosa don't demand anything less than that.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And I think there was a little bit of angst
- 12:40Speaker 1: after the Georgia loss, but the way in which it
- 12:43Speaker 1: went down with the pass interference and blah, blah. I
- 12:48Speaker 1: think they gave him a pass. And also knowing that, hey,
- 12:52Speaker 1: it's one loss. We're good. We're going to the playoffs.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And then they just got punked in Knoxville Saturday. And, oh, my.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It hasn't been good for Kalen since then. He's got
- 13:12Speaker 1: the bags under his eyes. He's got that faraway look
- 13:15Speaker 1: in his eyes. Now, I want you to notice, we're
- 13:18Speaker 1: going to play part of his news conference, which was
- 13:22Speaker 1: either Monday or Tuesday. I'm not exactly sure. But I
- 13:26Speaker 1: want you to notice, aside from him mentioning Texas A
- 13:31Speaker 1: & M coming into play Saturday, he did not get
- 13:35Speaker 1: one question about Texas A & M Saturday.
- 13:41Speaker 10: Yeah, I think just in general, coming off the last
- 13:43Speaker 10: two weeks, our standard doesn't change significantly. It starts with
- 13:47Speaker 10: me and our staff continuing to make sure we uphold
- 13:49Speaker 10: everything and continue to find ways to put our guys
- 13:52Speaker 10: in better positions to be successful. We believe in our guys.
- 13:56Speaker 10: The guys are going to come to work tomorrow. They
- 13:59Speaker 10: came to work today ready to go. Frustration or any
- 14:05Speaker 10: type of hurt or anything like that, that's a good
- 14:08Speaker 10: sign because it means that the investment's in there. I
- 14:11Speaker 10: expect that from our guys and they expect that from
- 14:14Speaker 10: each other. So I think a lot of it comes
- 14:17Speaker 10: down to continuity and consistency in really all phases. We've
- 14:23Speaker 10: just got to keep improving. It's back to work. It's
- 14:26Speaker 10: about just every week, understanding it's a new week. Each
- 14:31Speaker 10: week has different matchups. Each week has different scenarios. The
- 14:38Speaker 10: opponent's health, our health, all of that is a different week.
- 14:42Speaker 10: Each play is its own play. Our guys just got
- 14:45Speaker 10: to focus and and continue to believe in what we
- 14:49Speaker 10: um and who we are and uh how we accomplish
- 14:53Speaker 10: the successes we've had uh and how you know we
- 14:56Speaker 10: got to make sure we we get uh everything back
- 14:58Speaker 10: on track this week uh important week to attack awesome
- 15:02Speaker 10: awesome uh you know weekend as far as our our
- 15:05Speaker 10: opponent and homecoming um texas a & m' s got a
- 15:09Speaker 10: you know a very good team that's going to come
- 15:12Speaker 10: in here They got great personnel, great coaching staff. And so,
- 15:17Speaker 10: you know, everyone in the league is coming in, you know,
- 15:23Speaker 10: in the same scenario where, you know, you got to
- 15:25Speaker 10: be at your best. That's the way we got to
- 15:28Speaker 10: approach it. And so, again, attacking the week, you know,
- 15:31Speaker 10: finding that consistency through preparation and being on top of
- 15:35Speaker 10: things to where we can go out and play fast,
- 15:37Speaker 10: play confident on Saturday is the key. Coach, how would
- 15:43Speaker 10: you assess the offensive play call-in on Saturday? I think
- 15:49Speaker 10: everything always comes down to execution. You're trying to find
- 15:52Speaker 10: the things that you can execute well. I think a
- 15:57Speaker 10: lot of our calls are our base calls and things
- 15:59Speaker 10: that we run that we've had success with. You've got
- 16:02Speaker 10: to stack them on top of each other. When you're
- 16:06Speaker 10: in third and extra longs, like we had a number
- 16:09Speaker 10: of times early in the game, Um, you just want
- 16:12Speaker 10: to not make a bad situation worse. And so, um, it,
- 16:16Speaker 10: a lot of it has to do with just being
- 16:19Speaker 10: on the same page and, and having your guys execute,
- 16:22Speaker 10: you know, Hey, check it down, get some positive yards.
- 16:24Speaker 10: It's okay to punt the football once in a while,
- 16:27Speaker 10: a lot of that kind of stuff. And so play
- 16:29Speaker 10: team football. Um, you know, I think those intentions were
- 16:32Speaker 10: certainly there and, um, you know, you're trying to balance, uh, uh,
- 16:37Speaker 10: understanding that you got to move the football down the
- 16:39Speaker 10: field with also, uh, being patient. Our mistakes early allowed
- 16:45Speaker 10: Tennessee to play the game that they needed to play,
- 16:48Speaker 10: that they really felt that fits them, playing great defense,
- 16:51Speaker 10: playing field position, being able to run and then throw
- 16:57Speaker 10: the short control passes, whether it's on the perimeter or
- 17:01Speaker 10: with the RPOs. They played better team football than we did.
- 17:05Speaker 1: The field position.
- 17:08Speaker 10: Was in their favor a lot of the game because
- 17:11Speaker 10: of the turnovers, because of just the execution errors that
- 17:15Speaker 10: we had.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Let's go to Katie in the left middle.
- 17:19Speaker 11: Keelan's told us he doesn't want to be viewed as
- 17:21Speaker 11: a young quarterback, but he's only half a year into
- 17:23Speaker 11: his first season as a starter. What can you all
- 17:26Speaker 11: do to help him settle into games more? And you
- 17:27Speaker 11: said in your opening, put people in better positions to
- 17:29Speaker 11: be successful.
- 17:30Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 17:31Speaker 10: You know, you're trying to have a balance and again,
- 17:34Speaker 10: you're trying to take what the defense gives you. And
- 17:35Speaker 10: I felt like, again, if it goes back to play calling,
- 17:38Speaker 10: I think we had opportunities that are really simple things
- 17:41Speaker 10: that he's run a lot this year now that he's
- 17:44Speaker 10: comfortable with. There are certain run pass options that have
- 17:48Speaker 10: been successful and ones that haven't. And I think we're
- 17:51Speaker 10: doing a good job of understanding what he likes and
- 17:55Speaker 10: you know, just, quick game getting them out of his
- 18:00Speaker 10: hands and things like that i think are are things
- 18:03Speaker 10: that he does well uh um you know he also
- 18:07Speaker 10: you know has the opportunity and the knack for creating
- 18:10Speaker 10: with his legs and i thought he did that at
- 18:11Speaker 10: times um you just got to try to not to
- 18:13Speaker 10: do too much and so you know we don't we're
- 18:17Speaker 10: not going to let him think of himself as a
- 18:19Speaker 10: young quarterback either you know he's our quarterback and so
- 18:22Speaker 10: um you know that expectation at alabama comes with uh
- 18:27Speaker 10: getting the job done. He's more than capable. He's done
- 18:32Speaker 10: a great job in so many ways for our football team.
- 18:36Speaker 10: Every moment is a learning moment, the good and the
- 18:39Speaker 10: times that are rough. He's got a great head on
- 18:42Speaker 10: his shoulders. Our staff, each of our players, I think
- 18:46Speaker 10: are owning everything that happens. Keelan has definitely done that.
- 18:51Speaker 10: Just seeing and hearing him around the building here in
- 18:55Speaker 10: the last couple days, he's eager to move forward and
- 19:01Speaker 10: be better because of everything that comes his way.
- 19:06Speaker 6: There was a play against Tennessee where a Tennessee defender
- 19:09Speaker 6: was jumping up and down pre-snap, pointing at Marshall Pritchett
- 19:12Speaker 6: like he knew what was coming.
- 19:14Speaker 10: It was a quick screen to Pritchett. He made the play.
- 19:18Speaker 6: What can you tell us about what y'all do in
- 19:20Speaker 6: terms of self-scout and tendency-breaking plays? um to to kind
- 19:24Speaker 6: of prevent that kind of thing especially before the idle
- 19:27Speaker 6: week because i know the idle week is when you
- 19:28Speaker 6: try to get the most of that work done right.
- 19:30Speaker 10: Yeah there's there's so much information each week that you
- 19:34Speaker 10: know now you have just i mean it's a touch
- 19:36Speaker 10: of the button almost now uh from what what it
- 19:38Speaker 10: was maybe five or ten years ago ten years ago
- 19:42Speaker 10: for sure uh we can have that information on every
- 19:44Speaker 10: personnel grouping and what our tendencies are uh we're certainly
- 19:47Speaker 10: aware of that you know marshall has a has a role.
- 19:50Speaker 10: It comes in at certain times and, you know, identifying
- 19:52Speaker 10: them is what, you know, they should do, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 10: cause he has a certain skillset and certain things that
- 19:57Speaker 10: he can do, but it doesn't mean that he's getting
- 19:59Speaker 10: the ball. Um, but yeah, You know, you certainly need
- 20:03Speaker 10: to know where he's at. So, you know, I know
- 20:06Speaker 10: exactly the play you're talking about, and I don't see
- 20:09Speaker 10: it as that. I think, you know, that they knew
- 20:11Speaker 10: he was getting the ball. He's certainly an option and
- 20:16Speaker 10: always is going to be because he's that type of threat.
- 20:19Speaker 12: What do you think as a coaching staff could be
- 20:21Speaker 12: done or can be done to help the O-line when
- 20:23Speaker 12: you're in a matchup like that where the D-line and
- 20:25Speaker 12: their front is having a lot of success and having
- 20:28Speaker 12: some issues passing off some twists and things like that?
- 20:31Speaker 10: Well, I think it's what you're doing during the week, right,
- 20:34Speaker 10: and the continuity is important. You know, I think then
- 20:38Speaker 10: there's the environment too. I mean, you're naturally going to
- 20:41Speaker 10: be slower off the ball when you use a silent cadence.
- 20:45Speaker 10: You know, you're trying to hone in on what that
- 20:46Speaker 10: rhythm is, but then also that rhythm helps the opponent
- 20:49Speaker 10: as well because they figure it out. And so, you know,
- 20:52Speaker 10: we change up the cadence just enough. We're under center,
- 20:56Speaker 10: you know, at times there. Something I think that we're
- 20:59Speaker 10: getting more and more comfortable with as well. And just
- 21:03Speaker 10: as an offense. And, you know, so there's times where
- 21:08Speaker 10: you see, especially the outside, the tackles, they're rolling off
- 21:11Speaker 10: the ball a little slower than the guys interior wise. And,
- 21:14Speaker 10: you know, that's what the elements create. And especially when
- 21:19Speaker 10: you get into situations where, you know, you're in a
- 21:22Speaker 10: third and long, you know, or in more of a
- 21:26Speaker 10: situation where, your passing and defensive ends and such can
- 21:33Speaker 10: kind of see what's going on. Our tackles, we've got
- 21:38Speaker 10: to see the ball, see it snapped before they can
- 21:41Speaker 10: really look out to where the defender's at. Those split
- 21:43Speaker 10: seconds are the difference when you have elite players on
- 21:45Speaker 10: the football field like these teams have. We've just got
- 21:49Speaker 10: to repetition, hone in, and really kind of making sure
- 21:54Speaker 10: that in those games that we're condensing things down to,
- 21:56Speaker 10: you know, where we're really dialed in, where there's elite execution. And, again,
- 22:02Speaker 10: it goes back to the continuity and consistency of what
- 22:04Speaker 10: you have on the football field in practice because those
- 22:06Speaker 10: guys are the ones that have to work together. And
- 22:09Speaker 10: any time you insert new pieces, don't have some continuity
- 22:13Speaker 10: throughout practice in the week, it'll certainly not be the same.
- 22:17Speaker 10: It doesn't mean that we thought Mel didn't do a
- 22:20Speaker 10: good job. I thought he did a nice job. I
- 22:22Speaker 10: thought he jumped right in there. and did as good
- 22:24Speaker 10: a job as expected, considering it's his first game really
- 22:27Speaker 10: out there as a center.
- 22:32Speaker 12: Hey, Kalen, what is your confidence level in Ryan Grubb
- 22:34Speaker 12: as a play caller, especially after the last two weeks?
- 22:37Speaker 10: I think he's a great play caller. I think that
- 22:40Speaker 10: putting an offense together and understanding tendencies and things like that,
- 22:44Speaker 10: I think you've got to look at there's a lot
- 22:48Speaker 10: of scenarios that go into uh, struggling, um, at times,
- 22:53Speaker 10: you know, as an offense. And it's, again, it comes
- 22:55Speaker 10: down to execution. A lot of those moments, um, you know,
- 22:58Speaker 10: our fourth and one calls. I mean, I think they're,
- 23:01Speaker 10: I think they're really good calls. There are calls. We,
- 23:03Speaker 10: we were ready to run in that game. Our guys knew, um,
- 23:08Speaker 10: you know, there's, there's details of not, you know, stepping
- 23:12Speaker 10: on top of each other and, and things like that,
- 23:14Speaker 10: that matter. Um, you know, and so, but the thing about, uh,
- 23:18Speaker 10: you know, that about Ryan is that he's, he's evaluating
- 23:23Speaker 10: and as critical on himself as anyone. And it's always
- 23:26Speaker 10: been like that. It's goes back 15 years, you know,
- 23:30Speaker 10: at least 20 years that I've known him. And so, um,
- 23:33Speaker 10: you know, that's the beauty I think in our staff
- 23:35Speaker 10: as a whole. Um, and just, you know, and as
- 23:37Speaker 10: far as you're concerned with the question is just, you know,
- 23:39Speaker 10: I think that's, that's PC. You're just always trying to
- 23:42Speaker 10: make it better. You're trying to fit what you do
- 23:43Speaker 10: around your personnel. Um, you don't just have a system
- 23:47Speaker 10: and it's like, okay, well, we're plugging these guys in
- 23:49Speaker 10: the system. We've got to continue to evolve around the
- 23:51Speaker 10: players that we have, help them play fast.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 13: Do you have updates on, uh, Zabian and EJ from
- 23:58Speaker 13: this game and then Ryan racing and, uh, Terrence green
- 24:02Speaker 13: from before?
- 24:02Speaker 5: Uh, yep. Yep.
- 24:05Speaker 10: A lot of these guys are kind of in the
- 24:06Speaker 10: same boat. Um, I'll just go through Zabian, um, lower
- 24:11Speaker 10: leg injury. Um, you know, trying to evaluate throughout the week,
- 24:15Speaker 10: what he looks like. Um, Rayson is really in the
- 24:20Speaker 10: same boat, and so just kind of go to him.
- 24:23Speaker 10: He's progressing pretty well, though, and so we'll see. He's
- 24:26Speaker 10: going to be week to week. Ryan is also, again,
- 24:32Speaker 10: all these guys are kind of in the same area,
- 24:34Speaker 10: in the same window. I would not expect them to
- 24:38Speaker 10: be practicing all week long, but we'll kind of see
- 24:41Speaker 10: as the week gets to the end what that looks like. EJ,
- 24:44Speaker 10: lower leg injury. um, this kind of continue to evaluate.
- 24:48Speaker 10: We'll kind of see where he's at, uh, here in
- 24:51Speaker 10: the next couple of days. I wouldn't expect him to
- 24:53Speaker 10: practice early in the week for sure. Uh, and then
- 24:55Speaker 10: Terrence is progressing. They're really, they're all kind of, kind
- 24:58Speaker 10: of the same in the same spot. So, um, Terrence
- 25:01Speaker 10: is week to week right now.
- 25:04Speaker 1: It's, uh, Kalen DeBoer, Alabama's banged up and that's not
- 25:09Speaker 1: unusual in this league. And this time of year, halfway through, um,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I know A & M has had a couple of injuries,
- 25:19Speaker 1: no doubt. Bussey being the year-ender. I don't think Ryan
- 25:30Speaker 1: Coleman will be available Saturday. But he might be. I
- 25:36Speaker 1: don't know that. Their best receiver. But, yeah, they're banged up.
- 25:42Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it. We talked about this on
- 25:46Speaker 1: Monday with the writers that both Alabama and when you
- 25:50Speaker 1: play like one of those games you have circled when
- 25:56Speaker 1: the season starts, it's going to take it out of you.
- 26:02Speaker 1: We have seen, I think, more of that this year
- 26:08Speaker 1: that I can remember in this league with teams having
- 26:13Speaker 1: a hard time putting wins together, and especially back-to-back wins after,
- 26:20Speaker 1: you know, quote, big wins. All wins are good. All
- 26:25Speaker 1: wins are big. I get it. But there are certain
- 26:28Speaker 1: ones that are bigger than others. There are certain ones
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know that you have to play. But I'm telling you,
- 26:41Speaker 1: rebounding from those games has been extremely difficult. And we'll
- 26:52Speaker 1: see what happens. Actually, Alabama's played two in a row,
- 26:57Speaker 1: but Tennessee was laying in wait Saturday after the Georgia game.
- 27:02Speaker 1: We'll see how they respond Saturday. I, you know, I
- 27:07Speaker 1: don't know. Stan's going to look this up. When's the
- 27:10Speaker 1: last time Alabama lost three straight games? We, Be interesting
- 27:15Speaker 1: to know. The last time Alabama lost three straight games.
- 27:21Speaker 1: It's been, I bet it's been a minute.
- 27:24Speaker 10: 2007.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Okay. 20 years, almost. So, it doesn't feel like they
- 27:34Speaker 1: lost three games in 2007, does it? Saban, was that
- 27:39Speaker 1: Saban's first year? Maybe. Maybe not. But I don't think
- 27:48Speaker 1: he was seen up there yet. It was his first year.
- 27:53Speaker 1: There you go. And they hadn't done it since. I
- 27:58Speaker 1: want to say again, I like Kalen DeBoer. I think
- 28:01Speaker 1: Kalen DeBoer is a heck of a coach. I think
- 28:04Speaker 1: his record speaks for itself. And I don't. I'm not
- 28:12Speaker 1: among those that think he might be a bad fit
- 28:16Speaker 1: at Alabama. It's just no one who followed Nick Saban
- 28:24Speaker 1: was going to be as good. It just wasn't going
- 28:26Speaker 1: to happen. And you don't want to follow the legend.
- 28:32Speaker 1: You want to follow the guy that follows the legend. Well,
- 28:38Speaker 1: we shall see. But Bama Nation stirred up. And that
- 28:43Speaker 1: game's at 2.30 on Saturday afternoon. We shall see what happens.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I think if you have to go to Tuscaloosa, I
- 28:54Speaker 1: don't know if there's a good time or a bad
- 28:55Speaker 1: time to go to Tuscaloosa. But they're, you know, like
- 29:00Speaker 1: I said, they're banged up. They're not playing their best football.
- 29:03Speaker 1: On the other hand, I'm assuming they're going to be
- 29:06Speaker 1: a little desperate Saturday. A & M has to be desperate.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You know? That's about the only way you win in
- 29:14Speaker 1: this league. And it's really hard to do eight, nine
- 29:21Speaker 1: times a season. I think about three times a season.
- 29:27Speaker 1: And if you have a special group, maybe four out
- 29:30Speaker 1: of the 12 games, you can get just really jacked up.
- 29:37Speaker 1: The other times you have to win on talent. And
- 29:45Speaker 1: it'll be interesting to see Alabama's mental state on Saturday.
- 29:55Speaker 1: We'll see. All right. We're going to take a break.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Scott Clendenin is going to join us. We have got
- 30:02Speaker 1: some topics to work through. We will do that when
- 30:07Speaker 1: we come back. You know, just about, I'm going to
- 30:10Speaker 1: say an hour and a half ago, I had most
- 30:16Speaker 1: everything planned. I know it doesn't sound like it so far,
- 30:18Speaker 1: but I had most everything planned for the show, and
- 30:21Speaker 1: I knew my tank was empty, and I knew I
- 30:23Speaker 1: had to take a little trip in the morning. And
- 30:28Speaker 1: So I went down, talked to Pat Sebchak, got the
- 30:32Speaker 1: car filled up. I said, hey, you need anything? That's
- 30:35Speaker 1: just standard operating procedure. And then after I filled up
- 30:40Speaker 1: my truck and I got in and I was about
- 30:43Speaker 1: to come back, I said, should I have had them
- 30:45Speaker 1: clean the windshield because the windshield is dirty? Because I
- 30:48Speaker 1: went and talked to Pat while the truck was getting
- 30:50Speaker 1: filled up. And they'll do that for you. They will
- 30:54Speaker 1: check the pressure. They'll check tire pressure. They'll check your oil.
- 30:58Speaker 1: They'll do all of that stuff. It's like a service
- 31:04Speaker 1: station that some of us are old enough to remember
- 31:08Speaker 1: that we grew up with. They provide service. You know,
- 31:14Speaker 1: now you just pump your own gas and you move along.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Savchex is open until 6 this evening, the garage area.
- 31:22Speaker 1: It will reopen at 7 in the morning, 7 to 6,
- 31:26Speaker 1: Monday through Friday. 7 to 4 on Saturday. It's Sevchak
- 31:29Speaker 1: Service Center, 2200 Longmire, just down from the post office
- 31:34Speaker 1: in College Station.
- 31:36Speaker 14: When it's time for cataract surgery, there's no need to

- 34:28Speaker 1: We had a computer glitch yesterday. I lost my Mission
- 34:33Speaker 1: Impossible theme. One of the greatest themes ever written, by
- 34:36Speaker 1: the way.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 1: You'd be hard-pressed. I love the Pink Panther theme. That's
- 34:42Speaker 1: Henry Mancini.
- 34:43Speaker 17: What about the man from Uncle? Was that any good?
- 34:45Speaker 1: That was pretty good.
- 34:47Speaker 17: Okay. Well, I'm going to end it right now.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Gilligan's Island.
- 34:55Speaker 17: No, I'm going to end it right now.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Beverly Hillbillies. Nope. What? Oh, Good to Bad and the Ugly.
- 35:04Speaker 17: No, that's not a TV show theme.
- 35:06Speaker 5: No, it's not.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Oh, you're talking TV show themes.
- 35:08Speaker 7: Yeah, because you were talking Mission Impossible TV show.
- 35:11Speaker 1: No, I was talking about the movie. No, I'm talking
- 35:12Speaker 1: about the TV show. Yes.
- 35:15Speaker 17: Barney Miller.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I don't think I could.
- 35:19Speaker 17: The Bayside?
- 35:20Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. Come on. Bring up Barney Miller theme.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I mean, I know I know it, but I just don't.
- 35:26Speaker 17: Rockford Files.
- 35:28Speaker 18: Nope.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Neither one.
- 35:30Speaker 18: Chip.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Sorry. Not ringing a bell. Chip. Barney Miller. We'll get
- 35:36Speaker 1: Barney Miller up for you, and I'll go, oh, shoot,
- 35:39Speaker 1: I should have remembered that. I surely should have remembered that.
- 35:43Speaker 17: And have it up, because it's classic from the beginning.
- 35:46Speaker 19: Go ahead.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Oh, we're waiting on a commercial.
- 35:49Speaker 17: Okay.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I wasn't a regular Rockford Files watcher. Now... I mean, yes,
- 36:05Speaker 1: I know the theme and that guitar lick for sure,
- 36:11Speaker 1: but I wouldn't have brought it. I couldn't have found it.
- 36:14Speaker 17: All right.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Now, Stan, bring up Rockford Files when you get a chance. Okay.
- 36:18Speaker 1: But I wasn't a– I mean, I watched the Rockford Files,
- 36:22Speaker 1: but it wasn't must-see TV for me. Right. Right? Yes. Okay.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 17: And I'm not even going to do Miami Vice, okay?
- 36:31Speaker 20: Okay.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Well, I like Miami Vice.
- 36:33Speaker 17: Okay. But when we're ready.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:37Speaker 19: Uh, no.
- 36:41Speaker 1: This is Jim Rockford.
- 36:42Speaker 19: At the tone, leave your name and message.
- 36:43Speaker 5: I'll get back to you.
- 36:45Speaker 17: You're full of bullshit, my friend.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I will sue you for everything you have. I will
- 36:53Speaker 1: sue your ass. No. No, I can't pull that one up.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Like I said, I wasn't a regular, so it doesn't
- 37:00Speaker 1: immediately come up.
- 37:00Speaker 17: Magnum P.I.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I did watch Magnum P.I. I certainly watched Magnum P.I.,
- 37:09Speaker 1: but I've already named some better ones. No. Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 17: Because I watched all those, too.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Beverly Hillbillies was just flat and scrugs. They were terrific.
- 37:20Speaker 15: Yes.
- 37:23Speaker 1: And the theme from Gilligan's Island, you can't get better
- 37:25Speaker 1: than that. Everybody could sing that my age. I even
- 37:29Speaker 1: remember the words.
- 37:30Speaker 10: For that one.
- 37:31Speaker 17: What about Dobie Gillis?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oh, I like Dobie Gillis.
- 37:34Speaker 17: I don't know Dobie Gillis.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I like me some Dobie Gillis. Bring up Dobie Gillis,
- 37:37Speaker 1: would you? I don't even know.
- 37:39Speaker 17: I didn't even know they had a theme song.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Hi, Mr. G. Hi, Mrs. G.
- 37:43Speaker 17: Hi, Dobie G.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Hey, that's you, dope.
- 37:46Speaker 11: No.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Maynard G. Krebs. Love me some Maynard G. Krebs.
- 37:51Speaker 17: Okay. What about the most famous one of all time?
- 37:56Speaker 1: I don't know what is the most famous one of
- 37:57Speaker 1: all time. In your opinion. Oh, it's a good one.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I like the whistling. You know?
- 38:03Speaker 17: I mean, you knew what it was.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Immediately. Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 38:20Speaker 17: Oh, I got another one for you.
- 38:24Speaker 1: How about Get Smart? Yes. I'd get smart. Get Smart.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Don Adams. Great show.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And Agent 99. Barbara Feldman.
- 38:38Speaker 19: She could act.
- 38:39Speaker 1: She could act in her day. She's still alive, I believe.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think she's like late 80s, 90-ish, something like that. Yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure she's still alive. Now, I'm scrolling this
- 38:51Speaker 1: afternoon before you got here, during a break, of course,
- 38:56Speaker 1: and it comes up. there's this headline, actors that have
- 39:06Speaker 1: died in 2026 that went under the radar. Okay. Actors
- 39:12Speaker 1: that have died in 2026 that went under the radar.
- 39:16Speaker 1: You know whose name came up? Janine Turner. Janine Turner
- 39:22Speaker 1: had Jerry Jones's son's love child.
- 39:24Speaker 18: Okay.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And I'm going, Janine Turner died? How did I miss
- 39:28Speaker 1: Janine Turner died? So I go to a more reputable website.
- 39:34Speaker 1: She hasn't died. She's like 62, you know? I mean,
- 39:39Speaker 1: she still looks great. I'm going, these stupid people. Okay,
- 39:44Speaker 1: get smart. So I just had an alert listener call in,
- 40:11Speaker 1: and I feel ashamed that this one didn't come up. Yeah? Bonanza.
- 40:16Speaker 9: Okay.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Right?
- 40:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I mean, there's probably no more classics. No more classic.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's the best one. It's instantly recognized.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Bring me up some Bonanza, Stan. I mean, that was
- 40:37Speaker 1: Have Gun, Will Travel.
- 40:40Speaker 17: See, I like Have Gun, Will Travel.
- 40:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:43Speaker 17: That was my favorite.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Well, I love that one.
- 40:46Speaker 17: But, Chip, we're in Aggieland.
- 40:48Speaker 1: So? What does that have to do with anything?
- 40:51Speaker 17: The Rifleman.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Oh. Baseball.
- 40:55Speaker 17: But I'd love to have Gun Will Travel.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Oh, I did too. It was a good one.
- 41:01Speaker 7: So the first time I'm watching Big Jake and Paladin
- 41:05Speaker 7: is the bad guy.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Paladin.
- 41:07Speaker 17: It kills me.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Paladin, Paladin, where do you roam? Paladin, Paladin, far, far
- 41:13Speaker 1: from home. All right, hit it. I mean, is there
- 41:18Speaker 1: a more iconic one? I don't think so. All right,
- 41:23Speaker 1: that's enough of that. Okay, I know. We'll get to
- 41:27Speaker 1: the stuff. Well, I don't know what you want to
- 41:29Speaker 1: talk about, but we'll get there.
- 41:31Speaker 17: You got topics?
- 41:32Speaker 1: I have a couple. Okay. The Texans Report is presented

- 42:10Speaker 20: The Houston Texans are assessing their new offensive pieces as
- 42:13Speaker 20: they get set to face the New York Giants on Sunday.
- 42:15Speaker 20: Whiteout Tank Dell is set to come back from a
- 42:17Speaker 20: multi-year knee injury this week, and trade acquisition Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 42:21Speaker 20: averaged over 11 yards per catch in his first game
- 42:23Speaker 20: with the Texans. Now it's time to scout the Giants
- 42:25Speaker 20: at 3-2-1, led by a veteran quarterback, but young skill players.
- 42:29Speaker 20: Here's Texans General Manager Nick Casario yesterday on Texans Radio
- 42:32Speaker 20: with his evaluation of the Big Blue.
- 42:35Speaker 13: It's an NFC team, so the personnel is different. But,
- 42:38Speaker 13: I mean, this looks like a Coach Harbaugh football team.
- 42:41Speaker 13: I mean, they're big, they're strong, they're physical on both
- 42:44Speaker 13: sides of the ball. But this looks like Coach Harbaugh
- 42:48Speaker 13: is leaving his imprint. They've started off with their 3-2-1
- 42:51Speaker 13: or whatever their record is. They've essentially been in every game,
- 42:53Speaker 13: had a chance to win. the games that they lost. But,
- 42:56Speaker 13: I mean, offensively, we're going to have to prepare for
- 42:57Speaker 13: both quarterbacks. You know, Jameis has kind of played a bunch,
- 43:00Speaker 13: and then J.J. played there in the fourth quarter.
- 43:02Speaker 20: Kickoff between the Texans and Giants is set for noon
- 43:04Speaker 20: Sunday from Reliant Stadium. With your Houston Texans report, I'm

- 44:08Speaker 1: Okay, so there are three shows you need to be
- 44:12Speaker 1: aware of that are right around the corner for MSC Opus.
- 44:16Speaker 1: One of them is a kid's show. It's Fraggle Rock
- 44:18Speaker 1: from Jim Henson. You know anything Jim Henson does, and
- 44:21Speaker 1: you know Fraggle Rock. That is Halloween morning at 11 a.m.
- 44:27Speaker 1: The kids are going to be bouncing off the walls,
- 44:29Speaker 1: especially if they've gone to something Friday night and have
- 44:32Speaker 1: eaten all the candy. Or if they haven't, they're getting ready.
- 44:36Speaker 1: That is Fraggle Rock on the 31st at 11 a.m.
- 44:39Speaker 1: at Rudder the following week. Churchill and Roosevelt, The Christmas
- 44:44Speaker 1: That Saved the World. That is at Rudder Theater, meaning
- 44:48Speaker 1: there aren't as many tickets available. I haven't checked. I
- 44:51Speaker 1: think there are a few left. I already have mine,
- 44:54Speaker 1: and I just got mine this week. Back-to-Back Nights, November
- 44:59Speaker 1: 10th and 11th, is the Neil Diamond musical, A Beautiful Noise. Now,
- 45:05Speaker 1: I don't know what the story is. I really don't.
- 45:08Speaker 1: And I'll be honest with you, I don't really care.
- 45:11Speaker 1: I know the music is going to be fantastic. Those
- 45:15Speaker 1: are the next three from MSC Opus. Call the box
- 45:20Speaker 1: office at 845-1234 or go online at opustickets.org. Your A
- 45:28Speaker 1: & M.
- 45:28Speaker 9: Alabama Saturday starts at 10.30 a.m. here on The Zone, 11.50 a.m.
- 45:33Speaker 9: and 93.7 FM with the Carney's Pub game day show
- 45:37Speaker 9: brought to you by techsags.com. Carney's Pub, the perfect spot
- 45:41Speaker 9: to relax with family and friends. catch all the action
- 45:45Speaker 9: of an Aggie football game.
- 45:46Speaker 1: A college football Saturday.
- 45:48Speaker 9: Carney's Pub voted the best pub and best patio in
- 45:51Speaker 9: the Brazos Valley. A & M Alabama Saturday starts 10.30 a.m.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Here on The Zone, 11.50 a.m. and 93.7 FM. This
- 45:57Speaker 1: was from another alert listener. Who mentioned the MASH theme.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Another classic. Suicide is painless. And
- 46:22Speaker 1: if you saw the movie that led to the TV show,
- 46:25Speaker 1: you know that they actually sang the words to that
- 46:28Speaker 1: theme song. They never did, I don't believe, in the
- 46:31Speaker 1: TV show. No, they did not. But in the movie,
- 46:33Speaker 1: they did. And that led to the TV show, which
- 46:38Speaker 1: was a phenomenal TV show. Classics. TV show. So there
- 46:43Speaker 1: you go. That's a few of them. Just a few
- 46:47Speaker 1: of them. There are many more. Scott Clendenin is here.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Mallory will be with us in the second hour. Tomorrow,
- 46:55Speaker 1: we'll have a high school report. We'll have the Clark
- 46:58Speaker 1: Eisenhower outdoor edition. Tomorrow, we're taking a float trip down
- 47:03Speaker 1: the Roaring Fork River, and I wish I was there
- 47:06Speaker 1: right now. Okay. A & M Alabama coming up Saturday
- 47:12Speaker 1: afternoon at 2.30. What do you expect?
- 47:17Speaker 17: I have no earthly idea.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Me neither. I really don't either. I don't know. I just,
- 47:24Speaker 1: I don't know. Will Alabama be desperate if they are?
- 47:31Speaker 17: How can they be more desperate than they were last weekend?
- 47:36Speaker 1: Well, I tell you, like I said, I don't think
- 47:42Speaker 1: coming off the game the week before, they had anything left.
- 47:45Speaker 1: And I don't think Georgia had anything left. I don't
- 47:48Speaker 1: think either of those teams had anything left. I don't
- 47:50Speaker 1: care how desperate you are. They didn't have anything left.
- 47:55Speaker 7: Well, how are they going to have anything left this week?
- 47:58Speaker 1: They got beat up just the exact same? That's the
- 48:00Speaker 1: other question. They're a beaten up team. Physically, they are
- 48:03Speaker 1: beaten up. A & M will come in healthier.
- 48:06Speaker 15: Yes.
- 48:07Speaker 1: But does that matter? I don't know. I mean, if
- 48:11Speaker 1: Keelan Russell goes off and you let him, you know,
- 48:13Speaker 1: have a couple of 50-yard TD runs, but your quarterback
- 48:17Speaker 1: hadn't done that yet, and you know he's still capable
- 48:20Speaker 1: of doing it.
- 48:22Speaker 7: Chip, I told you last week that I watched the
- 48:26Speaker 7: Arkansas-Tennessee game and thought that Arkansas should have won the game.
- 48:33Speaker 7: Arkansas played head and shoulders better than Alabama did against Tennessee.
- 48:39Speaker 17: It doesn't even come close.
- 48:41Speaker 1: And that's what I don't... But I just think that's
- 48:45Speaker 1: the world in which we live now.
- 48:47Speaker 17: That's the SEC in which we live now.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Well, yes, to a lesser extent there are others, but correct,
- 48:54Speaker 1: adding the ninth game, and I said this Monday, with
- 48:58Speaker 1: this 2014 playoff.
- 49:00Speaker 17: Go back to eight?
- 49:01Speaker 1: Go back to eight.
- 49:02Speaker 17: You're exactly right.
- 49:03Speaker 1: No question you should go back to eight. No doubt
- 49:06Speaker 1: in my mind.
- 49:07Speaker 20: Yes.
- 49:08Speaker 1: You should go back to eight. It sounded like a
- 49:11Speaker 1: good idea at the time. TV wanted it, but you're
- 49:15Speaker 1: adding playoff games now. You're playing more games. If you
- 49:19Speaker 1: want to an SEC team that's standing upright in January
- 49:26Speaker 1: after 14 games.
- 49:28Speaker 17: Well, they're getting rid of the conference tournament.
- 49:30Speaker 1: They are getting rid of the conference championship, which is good.
- 49:34Speaker 1: I'm for that. So go back to eight, go back
- 49:37Speaker 1: to eight, play, play four, play one good game, play
- 49:40Speaker 1: three cupcakes. Right.
- 49:42Speaker 17: But you're also going to get that game.
- 49:44Speaker 7: You want to make up for losing some of that
- 49:46Speaker 7: money that you're losing in the conference tournament game.
- 49:48Speaker 17: Give everybody another home game.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly.
- 49:54Speaker 17: So yes. Agree with you.
- 49:57Speaker 1: 100%. Wow.
- 49:57Speaker 17: You are correct, sir.
- 49:58Speaker 10: Um, yes.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Um, Yeah, I mean, will they do it?
- 50:09Speaker 17: I would not be surprised, Chip.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they should do it. I think there's
- 50:12Speaker 1: some people that are going to... That has to be
- 50:13Speaker 1: on the table, doesn't it?
- 50:14Speaker 17: That has to be on the table.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Now, the coaches don't get involved a lot in stuff
- 50:18Speaker 1: like this, but I guarantee the coaches are involved right now,
- 50:22Speaker 1: given what we've already seen.
- 50:24Speaker 7: You think the next coach at Alabama is not going
- 50:26Speaker 7: to be involved with that?
- 50:28Speaker 1: I do not.
- 50:29Speaker 17: Not going to tell his athletic director?
- 50:32Speaker 1: No, I do not. I don't think that that the
- 50:36Speaker 1: new coach will be in a position to be telling
- 50:40Speaker 1: Greg Byrne how to schedule. And do you think there's
- 50:47Speaker 1: going to be a new coach at Alabama? What would
- 50:50Speaker 1: have to happen for there to be a new coach
- 50:53Speaker 1: at Alabama? Because the next discussion goes to Texas, and
- 50:58Speaker 1: I don't think there's going to be a new coach
- 51:00Speaker 1: this year in Austin, after this year. I don't think so.
- 51:04Speaker 17: Even if they lose to Ole Miss?
- 51:05Speaker 13: No.
- 51:06Speaker 5: No.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And I, you know.
- 51:09Speaker 17: I think you lose three games in a row, you
- 51:11Speaker 17: start bringing it into play.
- 51:13Speaker 1: No, he turns up, but they're not going to fire him.
- 51:15Speaker 7: No, but he is nowhere near the level of the
- 51:19Speaker 7: heat that is on DeBoer because he wasn't replacing Nick Saban.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Absolutely correct.
- 51:26Speaker 17: Absolutely correct. Okay.
- 51:28Speaker 1: But there's plenty of heat, but they're not going to
- 51:31Speaker 1: fire him this year. DeBoer, it's Alabama. But, again.
- 51:37Speaker 17: Lose to A & M.
- 51:38Speaker 1: You still got to play Auburn.
- 51:39Speaker 17: We went through their schedule last week, Chip.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 7: I mean, the teams that Alabama has to play, make
- 51:47Speaker 7: some more losses in there. Play like you did this
- 51:49Speaker 7: last week. And I don't care who the opponent is.
- 51:52Speaker 7: You're putting yourself in a position where you can lose
- 51:54Speaker 7: the football game.
- 51:55Speaker 1: No doubt. No question about that. Okay. Yeah.
- 52:00Speaker 17: Texas, same thing.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Same thing.
- 52:03Speaker 17: A & M, same thing.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Same thing.
- 52:05Speaker 18: Georgia.
- 52:05Speaker 5: Georgia.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Same thing?
- 52:07Speaker 19: Yes.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Now, the history of Kirby Smart and Georgia would tell
- 52:14Speaker 1: you that's not going to happen. The other schools, I'm
- 52:20Speaker 1: not so sure about. But I would be shocked if
- 52:25Speaker 1: Kirby loses another game. I would be very surprised. Even
- 52:30Speaker 1: if he lost another game, Now, if he lost another
- 52:34Speaker 1: game and lost the championship game with three losses, then
- 52:37Speaker 1: you're in really shaky territory, right?
- 52:39Speaker 17: It depends on who you lose.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Depending on who you lose to.
- 52:42Speaker 17: We don't even know. What are the standings, Chip?
- 52:45Speaker 19: I don't know.
- 52:45Speaker 1: I don't have the standings. You'll have to pull them up.
- 52:47Speaker 1: That's one thing I did not do today. Tennessee, I think,
- 52:52Speaker 1: is in first place.
- 52:53Speaker 17: No, I think it's Kentucky.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Kentucky's in. Okay, go ahead. So the SEC... Standings are Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Georgia has, what's their record?
- 53:04Speaker 3: 4-1?
- 53:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 53:05Speaker 13: 3-1.
- 53:06Speaker 18: 4-1.
- 53:06Speaker 1: 4-1 in conference?
- 53:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 53:08Speaker 1: What's Kentucky? 4-1 as well.
- 53:10Speaker 6: 4-1.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Tennessee?
- 53:11Speaker 10: 3-1.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Really? Okay, so they haven't played, and Texas hasn't played
- 53:16Speaker 1: that extra game yet either. Ole Miss 3-1. Ole Miss
- 53:19Speaker 1: is 3-1. So you got Ole Miss, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Anybody else with one loss?
- 53:28Speaker 14: No.
- 53:29Speaker 1: So those four teams have one loss. Okay. Do you see,
- 53:36Speaker 1: like I said, I can see Georgia running the table
- 53:39Speaker 1: from here.
- 53:40Speaker 18: Okay.
- 53:41Speaker 1: I can see them going into the championship game with
- 53:43Speaker 1: one loss. The other teams, I'm just not confident.
- 53:50Speaker 17: Kentucky has Vandy.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 53:53Speaker 17: Tennessee.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Vandy's a rivalry game.
- 53:56Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 53:56Speaker 19: Tennessee.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Tennessee.
- 53:58Speaker 17: Tennessee on the road at Tennessee.
- 53:59Speaker 1: That's another rivalry game.
- 54:01Speaker 7: Yeah, that they basically kept Mark Stoops' job because he
- 54:05Speaker 7: was the first coach to ever start beating Tennessee.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 54:09Speaker 17: Florida at Missouri and Louisville.
- 54:11Speaker 1: That's a brutal schedule. Whose schedule is that? Kentucky. Brutal schedule.
- 54:16Speaker 17: Everybody's schedule is brutal.
- 54:17Speaker 1: It is. In fairness, that's probably true. That's a really
- 54:23Speaker 1: hard schedule. So they're going to lose a game or two.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Kentucky is.
- 54:29Speaker 10: Maybe.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I think they are. Tennessee?
- 54:34Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 54:35Speaker 7: I've got to get back to Tennessee. Tennessee schedule. Tennessee,
- 54:39Speaker 7: I think, is harder than that. Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky.
- 54:49Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 54:49Speaker 17: South Carolina, Kentucky.
- 54:51Speaker 1: A & M is on there.
- 54:52Speaker 17: At A & M, LSU, and Vandy.
- 54:56Speaker 1: That's not a bad schedule. Kentucky's is worse.
- 54:59Speaker 17: Yes, Kentucky's is worse.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Georgia? Georgia, we said from the beginning of the season,
- 55:06Speaker 1: when I picked Georgia, and most people picked Georgia that
- 55:10Speaker 1: didn't pick Texas, I picked Georgia because of Georgia's schedule
- 55:14Speaker 1: this year. Not only the non-conference schedule, but the conference schedule.
- 55:19Speaker 17: Florida at Ole Miss.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Okay, the Florida game is what, in two weeks? Yes.
- 55:24Speaker 15: Okay.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 55:24Speaker 17: Florida at Ole Miss.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Next week. Is it the 31st?
- 55:28Speaker 14: 31st.
- 55:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Next week.
- 55:29Speaker 17: Florida at Ole Miss. Missouri.
- 55:31Speaker 1: At Ole Miss. Missouri. Okay.
- 55:34Speaker 19: At home.
- 55:34Speaker 17: At South Carolina.
- 55:35Speaker 18: Okay.
- 55:36Speaker 3: And Georgia Tech.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Okay. So, they've got two, in my mind, difficult games.
- 55:42Speaker 13: Right?
- 55:42Speaker 1: They've got the Florida game, which is a rivalry game,
- 55:45Speaker 1: and they go to Ole Miss. Okay? They might lose
- 55:50Speaker 1: a game. They might. Another one.
- 55:53Speaker 18: Because.
- 55:54Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 55:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I mean, it's just that, you know. It's a gauntlet.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I mean, it is.
- 56:01Speaker 17: Now, Florida doesn't play either. They have an off week.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Okay. Before the game next week.
- 56:06Speaker 17: Before the game next week.
- 56:07Speaker 1: They're not playing this week.
- 56:09Speaker 17: So, Georgia, Oklahoma, at Kentucky, Vandy, and at Florida State.
- 56:16Speaker 1: At Kentucky? Yep. Did you say?
- 56:18Speaker 18: Yep.
- 56:19Speaker 1: Okay. All right. We need a break. I want to
