- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 11th.
- 0:11Stay on the path. Have you ever realized you were
- 0:14drifting without meaning to? Not making a huge mistake, not
- 0:17rebelling, just slowly losing focus?
- 0:201 Skipped habit turns into many. One ignored nudge becomes a
- 0:24pattern, and before you know it, you're off course wondering how
- 0:28you got there. Staying on the right path
- 0:30doesn't usually fail all at once.
- 0:33It slips when we stop paying attention.
- 0:36Proverbs chapter 10, verse 17 speaks straight to that reality.
- 0:40Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life.
- 0:44But he who rejects reproof leads others astray.
- 0:47That verse reminds us that correction isn't a punishment,
- 0:51it's protection. Instruction keeps us moving
- 0:54toward life. Ignoring it doesn't just affect
- 0:57us, it influences the people watching us.
- 1:00Every step we take is quietly pointing someone in a direction.
- 1:04Acts Chapter 11 shows us what it looks like when people choose to
- 1:08stay on God's path together. As the gospel spreads, something
- 1:12powerful happens in Antioch. Acts Chapter 11 verse 21 says
- 1:17the hand of the Lord was with them and a great number who
- 1:20believed turned to the Lord. God's hand was with them because
- 1:24their hearts were turned toward Him.
- 1:27They weren't perfect, but they were receptive.
- 1:29They were listening. They were walking forward in
- 1:32obedience. When Barnabas arrives and sees
- 1:34what God is doing, his response is telling.
- 1:38Acts Chapter 11 verse 23 says that when he saw the grace of
- 1:42God, he was glad and he encouraged them all to remain
- 1:45faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose.
- 1:48Not emotional excitement. Not a temporary high.
- 1:52Steadfast purpose. A decided heart, a settled
- 1:55direction. That's such an important word
- 1:58for us. Faith isn't just about starting
- 2:00strong. It's about staying faithful.
- 2:03It's about choosing consistency over convenience.
- 2:07It's about listening when God corrects you, even when it
- 2:09stings. It's about staying on the path
- 2:12when distractions promise easier routes.
- 2:15God's hand rests on lives that are willing to be guided.
- 2:18When you stay teachable, you stay aligned.
- 2:22When you remain faithful even in small ways, God works through
- 2:25you in ways you may not even notice at 1st.
- 2:29And just like an Antioch, your steady walk can become the
- 2:32reason others turn toward the Lord.
- 2:34You don't have to Sprint. You don't have to be perfect.
- 2:37You just have to stay on the path.
- 2:38Keep listening, keep walking, keep choosing faithfulness with
- 2:43purpose. God's hand is with those who do
- 2:46Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
- 2:48Your word that guides my steps and keeps me on the path to
- 2:51life. Help me to receive your
- 2:53instruction with humility and not resist when you correct me.
- 2:58Guard my heart from drifting and keep me focused on walking
- 3:01closely with You. Give me steadfast purpose to
- 3:04remain faithful and let your hand rest on my life so that
- 3:07others may be drawn to you through how I live in Jesus
- 3:11name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
- 3:14because you truly knew who God is?

- 4:34Proverbs chapter 10, verse 17 World English Bible He is in the
- 4:39way of life, who heeds correction, but he who forsakes
- 4:41reproof leads others astray. Acts Chapter 11 World English
- 4:46Bible Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard
- 4:50that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
- 4:53When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the
- 4:56circumcision contended with him, saying, You went into
- 4:59uncircumcised men and ate with them.
- 5:02But Peter began and explained to them in order, saying, I was in
- 5:06the city of Joppa praying and in a trance.
- 5:08I saw a vision, a certain container descending like it was
- 5:11a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners.
- 5:15It came as far as me. When I had looked intently at
- 5:17it. I considered and saw the four
- 5:19footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things,
- 5:23and birds of the sky. I also heard a voice saying to
- 5:26me, Rise, Peter, kill, and eat. But I said, Not so, Lord, for
- 5:30nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.
- 5:34But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven.
- 5:36What God has cleansed don't you call unclean.
- 5:39This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into
- 5:42heaven. Behold, immediately three men
- 5:45stood before the house where I was, having been sent from
- 5:48Caesarea to me. The Spirit told me to go with
- 5:51them without discriminating. These six brothers also
- 5:54accompanied me and we entered into the man's house.
- 5:57He told us how he had seen the Angel standing in his house and
- 6:00saying to him, Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
- 6:04who will speak to you, words by which you will be saved, you and
- 6:07all your house. As I began to speak, the Holy
- 6:10Spirit fell on them, even as on us.
- 6:12At the beginning I remembered the word of the Lord, how he
- 6:15said, John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized
- 6:19in the Holy Spirit. If then God gave to them the
- 6:22same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who
- 6:25was I that I could withstand God.
- 6:28When they heard these things, they held their peace and
- 6:30glorified God, saying, then God has also granted to the Gentiles
- 6:34repentance to life. They, therefore, who were
- 6:37scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about
- 6:39Stephen, traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch,
- 6:43speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
- 6:46But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when
- 6:50they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the
- 6:53Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord was with
- 6:56them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
- 6:59The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly
- 7:02which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as
- 7:05far as Antioch, who, when he had come and it's seen the grace of
- 7:09God, was glad. He exhorted them all that with
- 7:12purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord, for he
- 7:15was a good man and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and
- 7:19many people were added to the Lord.
- 7:21Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
- 7:24When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch.
- 7:26For a whole year they were gathered together with the
- 7:28assembly and taught many people. The disciples were first called
- 7:32Christians in Antioch. Now in these days prophets came
- 7:36down from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them, named Agaba, stood
- 7:39up and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great
- 7:42famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of
- 7:46Claudius, as any of the disciples had plenty, each
- 7:50determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea,
- 7:53which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of
- 7:56Barnabas and Saul. Thanks for joining us on Bible
