Louisiana’s New Hands-Free Law | Lafayette Louisiana News
Louisiana State Police are sounding the alarm for Labor Day weekend, urging drivers to prioritize safety with simple but critical steps: buckle up every time, plan your route, and never drive impaired. The big focus? Louisiana’s new hands-free law—no holding your phone while driving, whether texting, calling, or scrolling. Even a single tap can lead to a ticket. Use Bluetooth or voice commands instead. Your hands should be on the wheel, not your phone. Safe travels this holiday—your life depends on it.
