- 0:00Speaker 1: Wow, that first half. And I've seen some good first
- 0:03Speaker 1: halfs in my days calling these games, but the energy
- 0:06Speaker 1: and the building, the way they got her after it
- 0:08Speaker 1: dominated the glass, I mean, that was just fun to watch.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Very impressive start, you know, it was really.
- 0:15Speaker 3: I think coming off of the start that we had
- 0:18Speaker 3: the other day, just being the last game in Gamble
- 0:21Speaker 3: and everybody, and like you said, they're having the students
- 0:24Speaker 3: backed in the crowd.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It was just very very impressive, even to the coaches.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, I'm sure was the fact that this Sarahcuse
- 0:32Speaker 1: team they averaged sixteen offensive rebounds per game, the good
- 0:35Speaker 1: rebounding team. Was that a point I had to be
- 0:38Speaker 1: a point of emphasis that I can't let them beat
- 0:39Speaker 1: you on the boards.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I think that's a point of emphasis every game, right.
- 0:45Speaker 3: But we did a much better job, and obviously we
- 0:48Speaker 3: were focused on number forty five. I'm sorry, I don't
- 0:51Speaker 3: know how to pronounce her name as ojh yes, But
- 0:54Speaker 3: and she's a really good player. She's very talented, very athletic,
- 0:57Speaker 3: and I thought Sarah Williams did a terrific job. And
- 1:00Speaker 3: it was a team defense because we were getting a
- 1:02Speaker 3: lot of help. But I thought we limiting her and
- 1:06Speaker 3: I thought she got tired, so that was also a key.
- 1:09Speaker 1: The pace was for a fonetic in the first half,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and you really yeah, that was fun to watch. That
- 1:15Speaker 1: was I'm sure a point of EFIC is to get
- 1:17Speaker 1: them tired too, and you always want to push the pace.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I know that.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, well, and I think with someone especially a bigger
- 1:24Speaker 3: post player who likes to be on the perimeter as
- 1:27Speaker 3: well as being doing some work done and low, that
- 1:29Speaker 3: was important for us to make corrupt her on the
- 1:31Speaker 3: floor and work really hard on the defensive end so
- 1:34Speaker 3: that maybe tires out, tires her out, and we were
- 1:37Speaker 3: trying to keep her from getting the ball.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You know, I'm glad you mentioned Sarah Williams. This is
- 1:40Speaker 1: another case of you don't have to do a whole
- 1:42Speaker 1: lot of scoring to impact the game. She did it
- 1:44Speaker 1: on the boards. She had forced this a couple of
- 1:46Speaker 1: nice back door passes in the first quarter.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked about that in the locker room just now.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I mean, you can impact the game like Asy did
- 1:53Speaker 3: with a tremendous shooting night with thirty six points, or
- 1:57Speaker 3: you can impact the game just like Sarah Williams did.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Really good defense, rebounded, the ball, had four beautiful assists
- 2:06Speaker 3: and was really just aggressive.
- 2:07Speaker 2: She got on the floor. She did a lot of
- 2:09Speaker 2: really good things. So that was that was helpful.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Chris. I'm happy for Azy because I was looking at,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, doing game prep here since the second semester started.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So Villanovo had been the first game of the second semester.
- 2:21Speaker 1: She had just ten of forty from three in this
- 2:23Speaker 1: building during that time. Here she went off tonight. I'm
- 2:26Speaker 1: really happy for her. She was tremendous on both ends.
- 2:30Speaker 1: She had five assists, she had four steals. It was
- 2:32Speaker 1: a complete game for her tonight.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Well, I never were I would not have known, and
- 2:37Speaker 3: I knew she wasn't shooting the ball as well she
- 2:39Speaker 3: normally knows, but I honestly think every time she shoots
- 2:42Speaker 3: that it's going in. Yeah, So I don't get caught
- 2:45Speaker 3: up in that, and I don't think great shooters do
- 2:47Speaker 3: or should, but I think this certainly helps moving on
- 2:51Speaker 3: to the next round.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yeah, North Carolina in Texas, Okay, you got one less
- 2:55Speaker 1: day to prepare. Didn't hurt anybody. Last year you won
- 2:58Speaker 1: a national championship going across country. But you know what
- 3:00Speaker 1: you're gonna get from North Carolina. They might be a
- 3:02Speaker 1: little better offensively this year, but they're still a good
- 3:05Speaker 1: defensive group.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're my scouts, so I've been watching them.
- 3:10Speaker 3: But you know, they play some four out one end.
- 3:15Speaker 3: They've got a post player in Sierra Toomey who's really skilled.
- 3:19Speaker 3: You know, they've got two guards who really played well. Yesterday,
- 3:23Speaker 3: a kid, Laney Grant, played really well and the other kid,
- 3:27Speaker 3: there was a transfer.
- 3:28Speaker 2: From you, shot the ball really well.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So they're I mean, they're going to play hard, they're physical,
- 3:34Speaker 3: so it'll be interesting. I mean, I think I'm not
- 3:37Speaker 3: sure that anyone in the ACC pressure is the way
- 3:40Speaker 3: we do, so hopefully that will be an issue for
- 3:43Speaker 3: them that we can create some opportunities off our pressure.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But we're gonna have our hands fall, all right.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I can officially say now I'm not going to Worcester Thursday.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Okay, good, Well, I didn't want to say that before.
- 3:54Speaker 3: You know, you never know, especially today, we had a
- 3:55Speaker 3: bunch of upsets in the women's game, which you know,
- 3:58Speaker 3: people complain that and say that the you know, the
- 4:01Speaker 3: home teams always win. But yeah, I don't think Virginia
- 4:04Speaker 3: thought that, and Notre Dame certainly didn't think that. So
- 4:07Speaker 3: if you play well, whether it's on the road or
- 4:09Speaker 3: at home, you'll always have a chance.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Two old former Big East foes going out in the
- 4:13Speaker 1: sweet sixteen, Shay and the l how about that. Yeah, well,
- 4:16Speaker 1: as long as Vanderbert wins tonight, of course.
- 4:18Speaker 2: What's the score they're game? Oh, I know the South
- 4:21Speaker 2: Carolina just started, so i'll no.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Thirty six twenty five Vanderbilt. Thanks to Andrew. Andrew, thank
- 4:27Speaker 1: you for that. I didn't have to go scrambling for that. Okay,
- 4:30Speaker 1: all right, I know you signed a little horse here,
- 4:32Speaker 1: so look, I like the pinstripes, by the way, that's
- 4:34Speaker 1: what it looked on you.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I'm not I can't be sick, so I'm not sick.
- 4:37Speaker 3: This is just an inconvenience right now, Okay, a minor
- 4:40Speaker 3: inconvenience that will not.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Well, it will be nice and warm and fort worth.
- 4:44Speaker 1: That's that's the best thing I can tell you.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine.
- 4:47Speaker 1: All right, take that cold medicine. We'll see you Friday.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Thank you.
