- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh, well today it's a little bit of a distance because it's
- 0:34the porch. You can hear Raven off in the
- 0:36distance, still dark and pouring here.
- 0:40So in order to be on time with this, I wanted to say I'm
- 0:44getting it out and doing it from the porch.
- 0:46Today, we are talking about getting the, the, the people in
- 0:52your life, aligned with the goals that you are setting.
- 0:56So sometimes when we go about setting goals, And intentions
- 1:01for the year, but obviously, the people around us are not on
- 1:05board with this. If there's somebody in your
- 1:07house, that's not taking on the same level of commitment to it
- 1:12that you might be or the same type of things.
- 1:14Like for instance, if you say, I'm going to go ahead and I'm
- 1:17going to do dry January and I'm not going to have any alcohol in
- 1:20January at all and you start talking about that to people
- 1:24telling them that you may or may not get resistance from it.
- 1:28Meaning somebody's like well why are you doing That that seems so
- 1:31silly. Why can't you just have a drink
- 1:33on a Friday night? And it becomes a battle of wills
- 1:37sometimes within houses. If someone's quitting smoking,
- 1:41it's a really difficult thing. If you are in a position where
- 1:46you're attempting to really study and someone you know in
- 1:50your family does not like that you're taking time away from
- 1:52something else because you're studying or trying something new
- 1:57You know, it's there's a there's always an awkward period of time
- 2:02where when one person shifts the rest of the dynamic inevitably
- 2:09has to deal with the shift and there's always this push back
- 2:13that comes in one way or another.
- 2:15Not might not be blatant. It might not be someone saying
- 2:18it to you but you can feel that there's a difference.
- 2:20I'm hoping that most of you that are listening or in situations,
- 2:23where, you know, your family is super supportive and they're
- 2:26like, go for it. It's kind of like, when I go to
- 2:29write a book, my, my husband, and my son, and we just kind of,
- 2:34like, I'll get it. And we know that for that period
- 2:37of time because I write them quickly the way that I do them
- 2:41and they just come out all at once, but they know that's going
- 2:43to be an intense month of me pouring into whatever it is that
- 2:48I'm doing or just like this past week.
- 2:50I had a very big goal the week between Christmas and New Year
- 2:55to swap the girls Coupe out. Out.
- 2:57And there was a lot that had to be done and I went down a rabbit
- 3:01hole. I didn't talk to anybody, I was
- 3:04super focused. I tiled the floor inside the
- 3:09scoop, I painted the inside entirely.
- 3:13I was moving stuff around for them in the yard changing their
- 3:18whole patterns. Everything had to be done but
- 3:21because it was cold, everything had to be broken out into
- 3:24different time. Frames it and and Had the
- 3:27freeze. It was a very complicated
- 3:30project which was supposed to only take a couple days ended up
- 3:33taking seven days, it was a lot and I had planned you know this
- 3:40in the middle of what was supposed to be a quote-unquote
- 3:42vacation. So I had to allow for the
- 3:47resistance that was going to come up in myself about doing it
- 3:50this way. I had to just like we talked
- 3:52about yesterday but I also had to realize that this affected
- 3:56other people. And what I was doing affected,
- 3:59my husband and an affected, my son, and fortunately, I have a
- 4:03really great support staff and I support things that he's doing.
- 4:07He's working on one of his big projects and that will be coming
- 4:10up or I'll be helping him when his stuff arrives in two weeks.
- 4:13So we give and take, but oftentimes, you're not in a give
- 4:18and take situation. So I want you guys to be
- 4:21prepared one for the disruptions, like we talked
- 4:24about in the last couple days and too.
- 4:28If somebody's pushing back, if someone doesn't like something
- 4:31that you're doing, don't make them wrong for not liking it,
- 4:35don't make it about them. Stay focused on the fact that
- 4:39this is your goal, your intention, you keep it in your
- 4:44orbit, don't take it outside of that and make them wrong for not
- 4:48giving you support. Because what does that do to
- 4:50you? It takes you off Target, it
- 4:52takes you takes all your energy and your focus off of what you
- 4:56want to create, and it Turns it around and says, okay, I'm going
- 4:59to focus on what's wrong and I'm going to make blah, blah, blah,
- 5:02whoever that might be wrong for not supporting me.
- 5:05No, we don't even know at this point in time if you're going to
- 5:08stick with it quite frankly. So why make it all about them?
- 5:12You're all of your attention, your intention, your energy
- 5:16should be going right to the point of achieving the intention
- 5:20and the outcome. It should not be on making
- 5:23someone else. Wrong pushing them in a
- 5:25direction, any of that it should.
- 5:27All on the outcome. So you do what you need to do to
- 5:32take care of yourself. You don't make them wrong, you
- 5:34say, I appreciate where you're you're going with this.
- 5:37I appreciate your input. And I really have to focus on
- 5:42this because this is important to me, I, you know, and you find
- 5:46a ground in your head where you can stand not in Anger, not in
- 5:50frustration, not an irritation, but in commitment to yourself.
- 5:55And then when they see that you're really, He committed over
- 5:58time and that period of time can be two days or it could be two
- 6:01weeks or could be two months, but once they see it and they
- 6:04see how it's affecting you in a good way, nine times out of 10
- 6:09people will shift in, they'll say, wow you were really right
- 6:11to do that and if they don't that's a whole different story
- 6:16where you get to decide, you know.
- 6:18Okay. Do I want to re-engage this
- 6:20conversation with them and really talk to them about why
- 6:24this is important to me again or you can stay run.
- 6:27The path, right? Where you are, but the point is
- 6:30don't allow anybody else to come in and burst your bubble.
- 6:34At this point focus on, you don't allow the attention to go
- 6:39away from what you want to make happen and are making happen.
- 6:43So I hope you guys have a very blessed day.
- 6:47I hope this was helpful and I will see you all tomorrow from
- 6:50the chicken coop, for sure. No rain tomorrow.
- 6:53Alright, have a great day guys. Bye.
