- 0:05alert, folks. That's right. Stefan Diggs joins
- 0:08the Patriots. Russell Wilson heads to the Big
- 0:10Apple. Christian Benford stays in Buffalo. The
- 0:14Aaron Rodgers saga continues. Free agency grades
- 0:17and the state of the AFC South. Okay, the divisional
- 0:22rodeo continues, folks. I know it's been a while
- 0:26since I put out an episode, but I had to go through
- 0:28each and every team and evaluate all of their
- 0:31free agency moves. far because why? The first
- 0:34wave, okay? Yes, wave of free agency is over.
- 0:38Things have died down a little bit, so now we
- 0:41need to evaluate. All of this and more on the
- 0:4474th episode of the Football Junkies Podcast,
- 0:46okay? I am your host with the most. I am your
- 0:48chief, Bagro Damas. I am your chief, head of
- 0:51the table. Anything and everything related to
- 0:54the draft, the bag, truth bombs. All those things
- 0:58and more. I am that guy. I am your GM who currently
- 1:01is not on the team right now. But don't you worry
- 1:04about it, okay? Don't you worry about it. Because
- 1:07guess what? I am all these things and more, okay?
- 1:10But guess what? The most important title that
- 1:12you must remember, my fellow football junkies,
- 1:15is I am your host, Kale. You already know how
- 1:18these things are about to go. If you got to clean
- 1:20up your room, clean out your car, wash the dishes,
- 1:22clean the grill, whatever you need to do, this
- 1:25is the perfect. episode to get those tasks done
- 1:28okay while also learning more about your team
- 1:31and getting your weekly football junkies fix
- 1:34so guess what on three one two three let's lock
- 1:37in All right, folks, let's just get into the
- 2:04meat and potatoes of everything that is going
- 2:06on in the league right now. So let us get into
- 2:09these bag alerts, then we'll get into the grades,
- 2:12and then we'll get into the divisional rodeo,
- 2:16folks, okay? Stephon Diggs inks a four -year
- 2:1969 million with the Patriots, 25 million guaranteed.
- 2:22He'll be making 17 .2 million a year. When we
- 2:25look at his stats, 64 targets for 47 receptions
- 2:29for 496 receiving yards. three touchdowns, and
- 2:3210 .6 yards per session. My takeaway is the Patriots
- 2:36added a veteran receiver who is going to help
- 2:39mentor the young receivers that are already there
- 2:42in Javon Baker and Jalen Polk and whoever else
- 2:45is there. You have somebody who is gonna be able
- 2:48to open and expand the offense even more because
- 2:52everybody's gonna be focused on Stephon Diggs,
- 2:54which will then create... opportunities for Javon
- 2:56Baker, Jalen Polk, and Austin Hooper, and everybody
- 3:00else on the offense. So all in all, this is a
- 3:03really great signing because I would have thought
- 3:05Stephon Diggs probably would have asked more.
- 3:07But for him to take less, I mean, that's actually...
- 3:11Pretty good. Now, he probably took less because
- 3:13he wants to be in the division so that he can
- 3:15get his revenge on the Bills. Maybe. I don't
- 3:17know. I'm not going to speculate. But all in
- 3:19all, the Patriots have really shown that, hey,
- 3:22listen, we are not somebody that's just going
- 3:24to try to build things brick by brick. No, we
- 3:28are somebody who is going to allocate the funds
- 3:30to some ballers. to some playmakers, to some
- 3:34difference makers, so that we can try to make
- 3:37this team a little bit better than what it has
- 3:39been the last two or three years, which I can't
- 3:41blame them for. I mean, they literally have the
- 3:43most amount of cap space in the entire league,
- 3:46so they can continue to sign players to these
- 3:49big contracts and not lose an inch of sleep.
- 3:52Not to mention this benefits Drake May as well
- 3:55because he now has a reliable weapon that he
- 3:57can throw to. Let's be real here, folks. Stephon
- 4:00Diggs is still a very productive and consistent
- 4:03wide receiver in the league. He is still somebody
- 4:07that a lot of defenses still have to plan for.
- 4:10He is still somebody that a lot of corners are
- 4:13going to have a tough time dealing with because
- 4:14you have somebody that's a really good route
- 4:17runner, that's really good when it comes to contested
- 4:19catches. He can do it all. so all in all great
- 4:23job for the patriots this would be a plus just
- 4:26off this signing alone but we'll get into that
- 4:29part but let's get into the russell wilson conundrum
- 4:32okay so russell wilson inks a one -year 10 .5
- 4:34million dollar deal which can go up to 21 million
- 4:38based off of various criteria that are being
- 4:40met 10 .5 million guaranteed he'll be making
- 4:4310 .5 million a year so when we look at his stats
- 4:46last year 336 attempts for 214 completions for
- 4:502 ,482 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, 5 picks,
- 4:55and 7 .4 yards per attempt. Here's the problem
- 4:59with Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson believes
- 5:03that he is still the Russell Wilson of old, and
- 5:06reality hasn't caught up to him yet. We literally
- 5:09saw somebody who was just waiting for the Steelers
- 5:12to call him back and to give him a deal. And
- 5:15the Steelers didn't want to do that. And a lot
- 5:18of that has to do with Russ. Because Russ's team
- 5:21leaked out a story to Pittsburgh Post -Gazette
- 5:25insider Jerry Dulac, alleging that there were,
- 5:28I would say, disagreement between Arthur Smith
- 5:31and Russell Wilson. And so the ripple effect
- 5:35that it caused was not only felt in the locker
- 5:38room, but it was also felt in the front office
- 5:41as well. And so in doing so, that probably fractured
- 5:45whatever little chance that he had left to go
- 5:47back to the Steelers. And so there were rumors
- 5:51that he may go to the Browns. That didn't happen.
- 5:54And so the only valuable choice was who? The
- 5:57Giants. Because the Giants have been looking
- 5:59for a quarterback. Now, we all know that they've
- 6:01been in the drama conundrum, whatever you want
- 6:04to call it, between Russell Wilson and Aaron
- 6:07Rodgers and any other veteran quarterback. For
- 6:10them to have two veteran quarterbacks already
- 6:13on their team, I don't know how is this really
- 6:15going to work. Not to mention, does this alter
- 6:18their draft plans? Because let's be real here,
- 6:21folks. Between the Browns, the Giants, and the
- 6:25Titans, somebody is going to get two of those
- 6:28quarterbacks. Somebody is going to have Cam Ward
- 6:31and Shador Sanders as their next quarterbacks
- 6:33for this upcoming season. Now, do I think it's
- 6:36going to be the Giants? No. Does this lower the
- 6:39priority for quarterback? No, because I still
- 6:42believe that they will draft a quarterback. I
- 6:44just believe that they'll either do it in the
- 6:47second or third round because not a lot of these
- 6:50quarterbacks are going to be taken pretty high.
- 6:52I think if they get someone like a Jalen Milrow
- 6:55or a Quinn Ewers or Riley Leonard or the quarterback
- 7:01from Ohio State, if they get any of those guys,
- 7:04I think it would still be. Pretty good because
- 7:06they can sit and they can learn from a Russell
- 7:09Wilson, from a Jameis Winston. Because right
- 7:11now the Giants are in a situation where they
- 7:14have to start winning more games. If they don't
- 7:17start winning games, Joe Shane and Brian Dable
- 7:20will be fired. John Mira has already let that
- 7:24be known. He's tired of being patient and he's
- 7:27tired of waiting for things to turn around, which
- 7:29I don't blame him for. But if we're being real
- 7:32here and if we're being really transparent here,
- 7:35A lot of this falls on Joe Shane's shoulders.
- 7:38And the reason why I say that is because his
- 7:41mishandling of the Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley
- 7:44situation. Here you are fighting tooth and nail
- 7:48with Daniel Jones to hash out a deal, but you
- 7:51didn't want to do the same thing for Saquon Barkley.
- 7:54And everyone told you that, hey. Maybe we should
- 7:58try to prioritize going after Saquon Barkley.
- 8:01And you didn't want to do that because your foundation
- 8:04was who's going to pay a running back $12 million
- 8:06a year. The Eagles didn't. And guess what? They
- 8:09got a Super Bowl for it. Meanwhile, you are trying
- 8:13to find somebody that can fill the void that
- 8:15Saquon Barkley had. not to mention you got off
- 8:19of Daniel Jones as well. Now, granted, I understand
- 8:22that Daniel Jones really has been playing the
- 8:24best, and that's for various different reasons,
- 8:26but the fact of the matter is you mishandled
- 8:29those situations so badly that if it was me personally,
- 8:33you would have been fired because why in the
- 8:36world would you let someone in a Saquon Barkley,
- 8:39as great as he is, just walk out of your door?
- 8:43You don't even fight for him. You don't even
- 8:45try to have negotiations with him. You just said,
- 8:48you know what? We'll let you test the market.
- 8:50Let us know what the market is telling you, and
- 8:53then we'll figure out if we can match the number
- 8:55or not. That was the dumbest thing that you could
- 8:58have ever did and said, because you just allowed
- 9:01him to dictate his future. And that's exactly
- 9:05what he did. Even if you would have traded him
- 9:08and you would have gotten at least a second or
- 9:09third round pick, at least you dictated where
- 9:12he wanted to go. And at least you got something
- 9:13back. You didn't get anything back from Saquon
- 9:16Barkley, but just you becoming a meme for all
- 9:20of Giants Nation. Because guess what? For the
- 9:24rest of Saquon Barkley's career, everyone is
- 9:27going to replay that clip of you sitting in your
- 9:30office. And John Mayer telling you, I'm going
- 9:33to have a tough time sleeping at night knowing
- 9:35that Saquon Barkley goes to the Eagles, as well
- 9:38as the other clips of the people on your staff
- 9:41who are basically saying, listen, we need to
- 9:44prioritize Saquon Barkley. Saquon Barkley plays
- 9:46a very pivotal role in this offense. And you
- 9:49just laughed and you smiled. So now you have
- 9:54to figure out exactly how you're going to turn
- 9:56this ship around. And signing Javon Holland.
- 9:59It was not the ideal situation, but we'll get
- 10:02into the grades when it comes to that. But all
- 10:05in all, Russell Wilson gets another chance to
- 10:08possibly be a starter, even though he's already
- 10:09let it be known that he will be the starter.
- 10:12So I don't know how that's going to work, but
- 10:15I can already see where this is about to go.
- 10:18Giants, you have a lot to deal with this offseason.
- 10:21Now on to Christian Benford. So he inks a four
- 10:24-year $76 million deal, $19 million a year. When
- 10:27we look at his stats, 63 tackles, one sack, and
- 10:31he was targeted against 60 times and only allowed
- 10:3436 receptions for 320 yards, four touchdowns,
- 10:38and had two picks. Christian Bedford is somebody
- 10:42who goes up against number one receivers as well
- 10:45as number two receivers. I have seen him go up
- 10:48against Marvin Harrison Jr. I've seen him go
- 10:51up against Jalen Waddle. He can hold his own.
- 10:53He's not somebody that... That gets a whole lot
- 10:57of media attention, but he probably should just
- 10:59because of how good he plays. You're talking
- 11:02about somebody that can hold his own, that can
- 11:05make the tackle, that can make the deflection,
- 11:08that can get the pick. He is that type of corner.
- 11:12Now, the thing is this. This raises the stock
- 11:15more for people like Isaiah McDuffie and Tyreek
- 11:20Woolen and anybody else that are going to be
- 11:22looking for deals after this season. because
- 11:26J .C. Horn got paid, and then Christian Bedford
- 11:30got paid. I know there was probably like one
- 11:31more corner. What's his name? What's his name?
- 11:34What's his name? Derek Stingley. So the price
- 11:38continues to go up for corner. So if you are
- 11:41a corner that's about to be a free agent, you're
- 11:43probably happy. Oh, and Byron Murphy as well.
- 11:46So it's been a pretty good offseason for corner.
- 11:49So, I mean, it's a good time to celebrate, but
- 11:53at the same time, This raises the expectation
- 11:56level for everybody because everybody wants to
- 11:59get paid, including a sauce, Tyreek Woolen. I
- 12:03think Joey Porter Jr. is going to have to get
- 12:05paid soon. There's a lot of good corners that
- 12:08are going to have to be getting paid soon, and
- 12:09the number keeps on rising. So if you're a GM,
- 12:14you might have a tough night, but it's going
- 12:16to be all right. Let's get into the, actually,
- 12:19you know what? Let's wait. Let's wait for the
- 12:21free agency grades because that's going to take
- 12:23a while. Let's get into the Aaron Rodgers saga.
- 12:25So, so far, here's what's happened with Aaron
- 12:28Rodgers. He unexpectedly decided to come to Pittsburgh,
- 12:33and in doing so, he calls the Steelers to cancel
- 12:36their meeting with the Michigan Pro Day, all
- 12:40right? And in doing so, he spent about six hours
- 12:43at the facility meeting with Mike Tomlin, Omar
- 12:46Khan, Aruni II, various coaches and whatnot,
- 12:51maybe a few players. He met with everybody, okay?
- 12:54He sat down with Arthur Smith, looked at some
- 12:56footage, basically had a brainstorming session
- 12:59between Arthur Smith and himself just to figure
- 13:03out exactly how things would work if Aaron Rodgers
- 13:06decided to sign with the Steelers. And so he
- 13:09left Pittsburgh without a deal. Well, agreeing
- 13:12to a deal specifically. And here we are once
- 13:15again. And so at this point. And I'm not saying
- 13:19this as a Steelers fan, but I'm just saying this
- 13:21as somebody that just wants to be transparent.
- 13:24I'm getting very tired of this story. I'm getting
- 13:27very tired of hearing about this story. I'm getting
- 13:29very tired of people speculating various things
- 13:33when they don't have any credible information.
- 13:36This morning, before I even recorded this episode,
- 13:39Mike Garofalo, he talked about on the NFL Network
- 13:42that, you know, DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers
- 13:45had a throwing session this past weekend at UCLA.
- 13:49And so to some people, they're like, oh, my God,
- 13:52they're doing something to do something. But
- 13:53it's like no real movement has really been made.
- 13:57And if I'm Aaron Rodgers, I probably am taking
- 14:01my time because do I really want to go to the
- 14:03Steelers? with all the problems that they have,
- 14:06you don't have a really good offensive line,
- 14:08and you're going to be playing in the cold. You're
- 14:10not going to be in the dome. There is not one
- 14:13stadium in the AFC North that has a dome. Nobody
- 14:16does. Cleveland always gets cold first, and Pittsburgh.
- 14:21Baltimore is probably the last team that actually
- 14:23gets really cold, all right? Do you really want
- 14:25to take that on? No. You're almost 42 years old.
- 14:29You don't want to take that type of punishment.
- 14:32Come on, man. Really? Really think about this.
- 14:34Really think about this. But if you're the Steelers,
- 14:37why do you want to continue to wait for somebody
- 14:39to make their decision? As Adam Schefter has
- 14:42said, either you want to play or you don't. It's
- 14:47a simple decision. Either you want to put on
- 14:49your shoulder pads and you want to practice in
- 14:51the summer and get everything together or you
- 14:53don't. That's just what it is at this point.
- 14:56Stop lilygagging and stop trying to beat around
- 14:58the bush. Either you sign the contract or you
- 15:01don't. Because right now, you are holding a team
- 15:05hostage with your actions. Now, me personally,
- 15:09I do not want Aaron Rodgers on the Steelers simply
- 15:12because I understand the baggage that comes with
- 15:16Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is not the type
- 15:19of quarterback who is going to rally around everybody,
- 15:23who's going to get everybody together, who's
- 15:25going to take the extra mile when it comes to
- 15:29really understanding his teammates. He is somebody
- 15:32that moves at the beat of his own drum, who does
- 15:35whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however
- 15:38he wants. That's who Aaron Rodgers is. We literally
- 15:42saw somebody who systematically destroyed a locker
- 15:48room within the Jets with his words. Not his
- 15:52actions, but with his words. We literally saw
- 15:56this man throw Mike Williams under the bus on
- 16:00the Pat McAfee show. We saw that. We saw somebody
- 16:03who continued to point the finger at everybody
- 16:08else except for himself. We looked at somebody
- 16:12who literally was supposed to be the beacon,
- 16:18the shining light for the Jets, a person that
- 16:21the younger players could look up to, and he
- 16:24failed to meet those expectations. Do you really
- 16:27want that in your locker room, Steelers fans?
- 16:31I don't think so. We've had maybe four to five
- 16:36years straight of just constant drama and just
- 16:41a whole bunch of just talking into the offseason.
- 16:45When can we just have just one quiet offseason?
- 16:49When? We all know that the minute that Aaron
- 16:53Rodgers touched down in Latrobe, every camera,
- 16:57every reporter, every... Channel whatever you
- 17:01want. It's going to be there covering every single
- 17:04little thing that Aaron Rodgers does. And I just
- 17:07don't want that personally. Because when it gets
- 17:10ugly, Aaron Rodgers is going to start name dropping
- 17:14and he's going to start pointing fingers. And
- 17:16I don't think nobody can handle that. We don't
- 17:19have a structure within the offense that can
- 17:23balance everything out. Because you're going
- 17:26to have to deal with the personalities. of DK
- 17:29Metcalf, George Pickens, and Aaron Rodgers. Now
- 17:34DK Metcalf, you probably don't have to worry
- 17:37about as much because it's more on field than
- 17:40off field. Whereas George Pickens, it's a little
- 17:44bit of both. It's the same thing with Aaron Rodgers
- 17:47as well. I was one of the people last year who
- 17:50was very critical of Aaron Rodgers' actions when
- 17:54he decided to go on a vacation, I think, in Egypt
- 17:58or wherever it was, instead of staying for OTAs.
- 18:02And my stance was, and I will continue to stand
- 18:05on it, was you should have stayed there so you
- 18:07could develop more chemistry with your players.
- 18:10Because had you did that, I think you probably
- 18:12would have seen a better outcome with the entire
- 18:15season. But instead... What did you want to do?
- 18:18You decided that you want to go on a quote -unquote
- 18:21pre -planned vacation. Unacceptable for somebody
- 18:25like an Aaron Rodgers. We're talking about somebody
- 18:28who is going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer,
- 18:31somebody that's going to go down in history as
- 18:33one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time,
- 18:36as one of the greatest throwers of all time.
- 18:39And you are not living up to those standards.
- 18:42Now, me personally, I would rather want Aaron
- 18:46Rodgers to go, to either the Vikings or the 49ers.
- 18:51And the reason why I say that is because offensively,
- 18:55they have a structure to be able to support someone
- 18:58like an Aaron Rodgers compared to the Steelers.
- 19:01Not to mention the Vikings specifically, they
- 19:05have made the moves that they made this offseason
- 19:08for a veteran quarterback. Not to mention, there
- 19:13was a report that came out, I think, by Jordan
- 19:15Schultz a few weeks ago that said that Ryan Tannehill
- 19:19has been in discussions with the Vikings. That
- 19:23lets you know that the Vikings are thinking about
- 19:26adding a veteran quarterback. Now, me personally,
- 19:29I think the reason why they've been teetering
- 19:32the line so fairly is because they don't want
- 19:36to ruin whatever confidence that J .J. McCarthy
- 19:40has. They want him to be able to grow and to
- 19:43develop and whatnot. But at the same time, you
- 19:47have to realize that this is probably your best
- 19:50window of winning. Because think about this.
- 19:53You have probably a top five, maybe top 10 defense.
- 19:58You have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Adison, TJ
- 20:01Hawkinson. What's the running back's name? Aaron
- 20:04Jones. You have a really good offense. All you
- 20:08need to do is just thread the needle, which is
- 20:10what? Win. And who better to really win than
- 20:15Aaron Rodgers? We're talking about somebody that
- 20:17used to dominate the division. So I say all that
- 20:21to say this. Either Aaron Rodgers is waiting
- 20:24for a better opportunity or he just wants to
- 20:28retire. It's one of the two. I think he's trying
- 20:31to weigh things out. But at the same time, time
- 20:35is ticking. We are less than a month away from
- 20:38the draft. And the longer that this draws out,
- 20:41the worse it's going to look like for the Steelers
- 20:43because this will be the second year in a row
- 20:46where the Steelers have waited all the way to
- 20:48the end for somebody just for them not to get
- 20:52the reward. Really think about that. And there's
- 20:56another theory that I also have as well that
- 20:58I definitely want to share. I was going to save
- 21:00it. I was. I was going to save it for... for
- 21:05the divisional rodeo for the AFC North. But I
- 21:07think because of this situation, I think I could
- 21:10probably shed a little bit of light. And this
- 21:12is my theory. I think a lot of players now use
- 21:16the Steelers as leverage in order to go into
- 21:19a better opportunity. Now hear me out. Walk with
- 21:22me, all right? We saw with Brandon Iyuk. Brandon
- 21:25Iyuk was very disgruntled with the 49ers. He
- 21:27wanted more money. Guess what he did? He put
- 21:29out a list of the teams that he wanted to go
- 21:32to. The Steelers was on that list. The Steelers
- 21:36was the last team to fight tooth and nail all
- 21:40the way to the last minute for Brandon Iyuk.
- 21:44And guess what happened? Brandon Iyuk had a come
- 21:46to Jesus moment and he signed the contract and
- 21:48he stayed with the 49ers. Deebo Samuel, when
- 21:52word was coming out that Deebo Samuel was going
- 21:54to get traded, guess what happened? The Steelers
- 21:56was the first team that everyone said was going
- 21:59to pick up the phone and call for Deebo Samuel.
- 22:02And then there were even reports that were coming
- 22:04out and saying that Debo wanted to go to the
- 22:06Steelers. Guess what happened? He went to Washington,
- 22:10as I definitely predicted. Same thing with Aaron
- 22:13Rodgers. I don't think Aaron Rodgers really wants
- 22:16to go to the Steelers. I think Aaron Rodgers
- 22:19is entertaining the idea, but I think his heart
- 22:23really wants to go to the Vikings or to the 49ers.
- 22:28The 49ers, you're in a warmer climate, you really
- 22:31don't have to play a bunch of cold games, and
- 22:33you can be really dominant in your division.
- 22:35The Vikings, you're in a dome stadium. At best,
- 22:39you're only going to have to play two outdoor
- 22:41games. And that's with who? The Packers and the
- 22:43Bears. That's it. So I say all that to say this.
- 22:49Although I would love for this situation to be
- 22:51resolved now, I don't think it's going to be
- 22:55resolved for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised
- 22:57if this doesn't get resolved until maybe after
- 23:01the draft, maybe. That's just how slow Aaron
- 23:07Rodgers is dragging his feet with this situation.
- 23:09But when the news breaks, I'll be sure to let
- 23:12you guys know. I'll share my thoughts and all
- 23:15of that and more, okay? So let's get into these
- 23:17free agency grades, okay? Because the first wave
- 23:21of free agency is done. All right? It's always
- 23:24the first wave that's like somewhat of the biggest
- 23:27wave out of all of them. And then you have that
- 23:29second to third wave that happens post -draft
- 23:32where a lot of veteran players are just trying
- 23:35to see what opportunities are available for them.
- 23:37So let's just get into it. So let's start with
- 23:40the NFC North. All right? So with the Vikings.
- 23:44Actually, no. Lions. I have to start with them.
- 23:47So with Lions, I gave them a B. All right? Their
- 23:50positions of need. DB, Edge, Interior Offensive
- 23:53Line, Defensive Line. So they acquired DJ Reed,
- 23:57Roy Lopez, Grant Stroud, Avante Maddox, Kenny
- 24:01Yoba, Kyle Allen, Rakia Sin, just to name a few,
- 24:04all right? The people that left were Carlton
- 24:07Davis, Kevin Zeidler, Afitu Malafanu, Kendall
- 24:10Vildor, and Jonah Williams, just to name a few.
- 24:13So for me personally, I would say a B. And the
- 24:16reason why I say that is because the Lions are
- 24:20in a situation where they don't have to be super
- 24:22aggressive in free agency. Because their team,
- 24:25for the majority, is already assembled. They
- 24:28just have to fill in certain points on their
- 24:30team. And we all knew that the Lions were going
- 24:34to make some type of investment at corner to
- 24:37help with Terryon Arnold. And so getting DJ Reed
- 24:41was actually a pretty good deal. I think... You're
- 24:45dealing with somebody that can definitely be
- 24:47cornerback one or cornerback two. And so all
- 24:52in all, I think that was a really good signing.
- 24:54Now, everything else after that, it's more deaf
- 24:58pieces, you know, second or third tier type of
- 25:01players. Nothing really, you know, impactful,
- 25:05if that makes sense. So all in all, I would give
- 25:09them a B. For right now, I think their biggest
- 25:11move was DJ Reed. Everybody else was very smaller
- 25:15type of deals and whatnot. And when we look at
- 25:18the Vikings, on the other hand, I gave them an
- 25:20A. And the reason why is gonna be discussed shortly.
- 25:24So they acquired Will Fries, Jonathan Allen,
- 25:27Javon Hargrave, Ryan Kelly, Isaiah Rogers, Eric
- 25:30Wilson, Jeff Okuda, Taveri Thomas, Justin School,
- 25:34Tim Jones, and Rondell Moore, just to name a
- 25:36few, okay? Now, the people that left, Sam Darnold,
- 25:40Cameron Bynum, Daniel Jones, Cam Robinson, Patrick
- 25:43Jones, Garrett Bradbury, Trent Shurfield, Johnny
- 25:47Munt, Nick Mullins, and Jerry Tillery, just to
- 25:50name a few. So the reason why I gave them an
- 25:52A was because, for one, they addressed interior
- 25:55offensive line very well, as well as defensive
- 25:58line. Not to mention, they also added some really
- 26:02good depth pieces when it comes to corner as
- 26:04well. Because again, their positions of need
- 26:07is corner, interior linebacker, interior linebacker,
- 26:11inside linebacker, excuse me, safety, running
- 26:13back, defensive line, interior offensive line,
- 26:16and tight end. The only position that... I don't
- 26:20think they really addressed was tight end. And
- 26:22me personally, I feel like they'll definitely
- 26:24address that in the draft because I feel like
- 26:25the tight end draft class this year is actually
- 26:27really good. So I don't blame them for that.
- 26:31Now, defensive line, you got Javon Hargrave and
- 26:34Jonathan Allen. That is an instant upgrade. I
- 26:37don't care what anyone says. That is a better
- 26:39upgrade right now. So now your defensive line
- 26:42is going to be, what's his name? Dallas Turner,
- 26:46Javon Hargrave, Jonathan Allen. I forget who
- 26:48the other pass rusher is. That's really good.
- 26:50That's really, really, really good. Not to mention,
- 26:53you show up the interior offensive line as well
- 26:57with Will Fries and Ryan Kelly as well. So all
- 27:01in all, those are really good signings. And not
- 27:03to mention, you didn't break the bank for any
- 27:06of those deals. So that's even better. You bring
- 27:10in someone like Isaiah Rodgers who actually played
- 27:12really well with the Eagles. Jeff Okuda, he's
- 27:16still trying to find his way. I think coming
- 27:18to the Vikings, I think they could probably mold
- 27:21him into the first round corner that he was supposed
- 27:24to be a few years ago. Now, when we look at the
- 27:27Packers, though, I want to say a B +, but I'm
- 27:31a little bit on the edge about it. And the reason
- 27:34why I say that is because of who they acquired
- 27:37and whatnot. So right now, all they acquired
- 27:40was just Nate Hobbs, Aaron Banks, McCole Hartman.
- 27:43Who left was to Daryl Slayton, Eric Stokes, Eric
- 27:47Wilson, Josh Myers, Ballantyne, A .J. Dillon,
- 27:50and Robert Rochelle, just to name a few. So the
- 27:52reason why I say all of this is because for positions
- 27:57of need, sure, corner was on there, but you got
- 27:59a slot corner, which I feel like you may have
- 28:01overpaid just a little bit. Interior offensive
- 28:04line, Aaron Banks, I feel like you overpaid for
- 28:07that as well. Wide receiver, you got McCole Hartman,
- 28:10who... is maybe what wide receiver three at this
- 28:14point may be good when it comes to special teams
- 28:17and whatnot but that's probably about it edge
- 28:20you really didn't you didn't really address it
- 28:22and that could be because you're saving that
- 28:24for the draft or something else but i just really
- 28:28didn't like their signings i just feel like they
- 28:30probably added a little more a little bit more
- 28:33money to just secure those deals but i could
- 28:35definitely be wrong uh the bears a plus and the
- 28:40reason why We're going to be talking about that
- 28:42right now, actually. So they acquired Dale Odeon.
- 28:49I know I'm butchering your name, so I'm just
- 28:52going to say Dale. Dale O. I'm not trying to
- 28:55butcher your last name, dog. I'm really not.
- 28:57Grady Jarrett, Drew Dolman, Durham Smythe, Olamide,
- 29:02Zaccheaus, Devin Duvernay, Nick McCloud. I forgot
- 29:05Joe Thune as well. And Grady Jarrett. I know
- 29:09I just said grade Jared again. I'm just so excited,
- 29:12guys. You guys don't understand how much time
- 29:15I put into this one episode when it comes to
- 29:18this grades because on one hand, I don't want
- 29:21to be super negative, but at the same time, I
- 29:25want to be able to really break down why I gave
- 29:28the grades for each and every one of these teams.
- 29:30Now, we will look at the players that left, okay?
- 29:33Coleman Shelton, Daryl Taylor, Tevin Jenkins,
- 29:36Jake Martin, Larry Bullrum, Jack Sanborn, Brian
- 29:40Kowar, Darrington Evans, Jalen Jones, DeAndre
- 29:43Carter, Matt Pryor, just to name a few. So me
- 29:46personally, all right, they addressed defensive
- 29:49line with Grady Jarrett. You addressed interior
- 29:53offensive line with Joe Tooney and Drew Dolman.
- 29:56All right, that was actually really good. Wide
- 29:58receiver, you get someone in Zaccheaus, who was
- 30:01actually really productive last season. And you
- 30:04also get Devin Duvernay as well, who's also good
- 30:07when it comes to special teams when he's healthy.
- 30:09So all in all, you addressed a lot of your positions
- 30:13fairly early. And that was actually really good.
- 30:17And you started things off with a defensive line,
- 30:20which to me, I just feel like that's just instant
- 30:2220 points, 20 bonus points, honestly. But the
- 30:26way that they did it was such a masterclass because
- 30:30you bring in Drew Dallman, you get Joe Thune,
- 30:34you shore up the offensive line as well as the
- 30:37defensive line as well. Because now on the defensive
- 30:39line, you're going to have Grady Jarrett, you're
- 30:42going to have Montez Sweat. I forgot who the
- 30:44other defensive lineman was. I know there was
- 30:46somebody else. I'm missing them. I know. I'm
- 30:49not trying to butcher. Wait a minute. Do I? I
- 30:51don't know. Forget about it. Just know the Bears
- 30:53are going to be better this year, okay? They're
- 30:55going to be a whole lot better this year. Now,
- 30:58when we go to the NFC South, okay? Panthers,
- 31:00B+. Now, when we look at the players that they
- 31:03acquired, Trevon Moe -Rigg, Tershawn Warren,
- 31:06Bobby Brown, not dancer, singer Bobby Brown,
- 31:09okay? Not that guy. Patrick Jones, Rico Dow,
- 31:13Christian Roseboom, and Sam Martin, just to name
- 31:15a few. The people that left, Xavier Woods, Lonnie
- 31:18Johnson, Johnny Hecker, Dane Jackson, Miles Sanders,
- 31:21Jordan Fuller, Vellis Jones, Felipe Franks, and
- 31:24Ian Thomas, okay? They're positions of need.
- 31:27Wide receiver, edge, and running back. So, on
- 31:31one hand, I wanted to give them an A +, but...
- 31:35They mainly attack the defense more than really
- 31:38the offense. And I really wanted them to address
- 31:41more on the offense just for Bryce Young's development.
- 31:44But when we look at the players that they acquired,
- 31:47Tremont Mulrigg, really productive player. Tershawn
- 31:50Warren, really productive player. Bobby Brown,
- 31:53Patrick Jones, really productive player. Patrick
- 31:56Jones is a sleeper of an edge rusher. Rico Dow,
- 31:59a really productive running back. Like these
- 32:03were some really productive signings. And so
- 32:05on one hand, yes, they were great. But at the
- 32:10same time, I wanted more from the offense only
- 32:13because the offense is still lacking, especially
- 32:16when it comes to receiver. Sure, you have Xavier
- 32:18Leggett, you have Adam Thielen, but you're going
- 32:21to need more. You're going to need somebody that
- 32:24can be very productive at this point. Maybe even
- 32:28tight. Well, you know what tight end they got?
- 32:30They got a few people that tight end, but I'll
- 32:32just leave it there, all right? Because if I
- 32:35don't, I'm just going to go down a wormhole,
- 32:36all right? Buccaneers, C+. I know Buccaneers
- 32:40fans, don't, please, don't find me, please, all
- 32:43right? So the people that they acquired, Hassan
- 32:45Reddick, Riley Dixon, Charlie Heck, Anthony Walker,
- 32:48and Kendall Vildor, just to name a few. The people
- 32:51that left, Robert Hainsey, Joe Tyron, Taveria
- 32:55Thomas, Justice School, Royce Newman, and KJ
- 32:59Britt. Positions of need, edge, interior offensive
- 33:02line, tight end, corner, safety. Hassan Reddick,
- 33:06I feel like, was overpaid. And I'm just going
- 33:08to be completely honest here, okay? He was definitely
- 33:11overpaid simply because... He did not show the
- 33:15Hasan Reddick that the Eagles had. He showed
- 33:18a version of Hasan Reddick that really wasn't
- 33:22involved in the game and really wasn't the playmaker
- 33:25and difference maker that he was with the Eagles.
- 33:28Granted, I understand that the Buccaneers only
- 33:30gave him a one -year deal, but the fact of the
- 33:33matter is, Hasan Reddick really hasn't played
- 33:36really well since leaving the Eagles. And then
- 33:39not to mention, he was holding out for what?
- 33:42A majority of the offseason and I think a little
- 33:46bit of the regular season as well. Like, no,
- 33:50no, no, no, no, no. Very unacceptable at this
- 33:54point. So I feel like that was a very bad signing.
- 33:57But at the same time, I understand that they
- 34:00wanted to address age. But I feel like you could
- 34:04have addressed that in the draft personally,
- 34:06because you already have Shaq Barrett. If you
- 34:09get someone like a James Pierce, if you get someone
- 34:11like a Jalen Walker, if you get someone like
- 34:13Shamar Stewart, for instance, those are upgrades.
- 34:17I don't see that with Hasan Reddick, but I could
- 34:19definitely be wrong. Riley Dixon was a really
- 34:22good signing. Charlie Heck, really good signing.
- 34:24Anthony Walker, really good signing as well.
- 34:27All in all, these were really good signings.
- 34:29They didn't really address a lot of their needs
- 34:32like how I thought they probably should have,
- 34:35but maybe they're saving that for the draft or
- 34:37whatever the case may be, all right? Saints,
- 34:40C plus. And the reason why I say that is because
- 34:43for one, you were strapped for cash, so you really
- 34:47couldn't make a whole bunch of moves. But at
- 34:49the same time, the moves that you did make, they're
- 34:52not, what's the word? What's the word? They don't
- 34:57move the needle. But it definitely is somewhat
- 35:00of an upgrade to what you already have. So they
- 35:03acquired Justin Reed, Brandon Cooks, Isaac Yatim,
- 35:07Will Clapp, Jack Stoll, Jonah Williams, Vellis
- 35:11Jones, and Dylan Ruddance. Hopefully I'm not
- 35:15butchering your last name. The people that left,
- 35:17Paulson Debo, Marquez Velding -Scantling, Will
- 35:21Harris, Peyton Turner, Lucas Patrick, Willie
- 35:24Gage, Jamar Jean. Now... Sure, they were able
- 35:28to re -sign Chase Young and whatnot, and they
- 35:31took care of a few players and whatnot, and Justin
- 35:33Reed was probably their big ticket signing, but
- 35:35the fact of the matter is that still isn't enough.
- 35:40Me personally, I would have thought a lot of
- 35:43those free agent Eagles players would have went
- 35:45to the Saints and followed Kellen Moore, but
- 35:47clearly that's not the case. C plus, I feel like
- 35:51that's definitely the best for them. I really
- 35:53couldn't give them a B because they really didn't
- 35:55address a lot of their other positions like how
- 35:57I thought they probably should have. Now, when
- 36:00we look at the Falcons, B. I was gonna give them
- 36:03a B minus. I wanted to give them a B plus. I
- 36:06really didn't know, so I just left it at B, okay?
- 36:09So their positions of need, defensive line, wide
- 36:11receiver, tight end, center, and safety. So they
- 36:15acquired Mike Hughes, Divine Diablo, Leonard
- 36:18Floyd, Morgan Fox, Michael Ford, Jordan Fuller,
- 36:20and Keith Taylor, just to name a few. The people
- 36:23that left, Grady Jarrett, Drew Dallman, Richie
- 36:26Grant, Lorenzo Carter, Eddie Goldman, Nathan
- 36:29Landman, Avery Williams, and Rondell Moore, just
- 36:31to name a few. So here's the thing. So Mike Hughes,
- 36:36really good signing. Divine Diablo, really good
- 36:39signing. Leonard Floyd was a sleeper of a signing.
- 36:43Believe it or not, Leonard Floyd, within the
- 36:45last three to four years, has actually been cleaning
- 36:48house. He's had, I think, two of the three last
- 36:52seasons, he's had double -digit sack seasons.
- 36:55So he's been really good. And then you get someone
- 36:59like a Morgan Fox, who's also a sleeper of a
- 37:01defensive lineman as well. I think that's actually
- 37:03really good, too. Mike Hughes, I think that was
- 37:07pretty good, too. Pair him up with AJ Terrell
- 37:10and whatnot. All in all, they made some significant
- 37:15moves, especially to shore up the defense. And
- 37:18they definitely addressed pass rusher because
- 37:20we all know that pass rusher was definitely a
- 37:23problem for them this past season. And so getting
- 37:26someone like a Leonard Floyd, I think that definitely
- 37:28shores up that spot. Everything else you can
- 37:32definitely debate about. But all in all, I think
- 37:36the Falcons definitely made some really good
- 37:38moves. Do I think they probably should have made
- 37:40at least one or two, like, really significant
- 37:42moves for the offense? Yes, but maybe they're
- 37:46probably going to do that in the draft. So, on
- 37:48to the NFC East, okay? The Giants. Yeah. No.
- 37:52Eagles. Eagles. Eagles first. E -A -G -L -E -S.
- 37:57Eagles. B. So they acquired Aziz Ojolari, Josh
- 38:03Uche, Adory Jackson, Kalen Granson, Charlie Huglett,
- 38:07A .J. Dillon, Harrison Bryant, Patrick Johnson,
- 38:10Kendall Lamb, Matt Pryor, and Avery Williams,
- 38:12just to name a few. The people that left, Milton
- 38:15Williams, Josh Sweat, Darius Slay, Isaiah Rogers,
- 38:18Oren Burks, Kenneth Gainwell, and Avante Max,
- 38:21just to name a few. Their positions of need,
- 38:23tight end, corner, defensive line, and linebacker.
- 38:26So Aziz Ojolari. Really productive pass rusher
- 38:30who he just has to stay healthy at this point.
- 38:33Josh Uche, very productive pass rusher as well.
- 38:37He was productive with the Patriots and then
- 38:40also with the Chiefs as well. Adory Jackson,
- 38:43he's been okay. I definitely feel like he probably
- 38:46could have been a little bit better, but I think
- 38:49last season he really didn't have a lot of suitors
- 38:51for him, so that's probably why he went back
- 38:53to the Giants. So I think that's a pretty good
- 38:56cornerback three type of move. Everything else
- 38:59is very debatable. But at the same time, the
- 39:03Eagles really didn't need a whole lot of stuff.
- 39:06So they're in a really good spot, believe it
- 39:09or not. And I wouldn't be surprised if they probably
- 39:12made one or two significant moves in the draft
- 39:14just so they can probably go and get their guy
- 39:17and then just trade down from everything else.
- 39:20Because again, the Eagles are still in their
- 39:22Super Bowl window. And their selling point is
- 39:25this. Come to us. We're still in our Super Bowl
- 39:28window. You have a chance of competing and winning.
- 39:33That's it. And that's for any Super Bowl team.
- 39:37Most players will be willing to take less just
- 39:39to be on the team. So the Eagles are not done.
- 39:42Trust me. Now we will look at the Giants, okay?
- 39:45Positions of need. Quarterback, receiver, corner,
- 39:48interior offensive line, interior defensive line.
- 39:50So they acquired Paulson Adebo, Javon Holland,
- 39:53Chauncey Golston, James Huston, Russell Wilson,
- 39:55Roy, Robertson Harris, James Winston, Chris Board,
- 39:59Jeremiah Ledbetter, Demetrius Flanagan Flowers,
- 40:03Zach Pascal, Jordan Humphrey, and then... The
- 40:06people that left were Aziz Ojolari, Payson Panak,
- 40:10Adory Jackson, Patrick Johnson, Tim Boyle, just
- 40:12to name a few. So for them, I gave them a B.
- 40:15Because on one hand, yes, they did address a
- 40:18corner with Paulson and Debo. Safety, I feel
- 40:21like they could have addressed in the draft,
- 40:23personally. I feel like going after Javon Holland
- 40:26and giving him the money that he got was a little
- 40:29bit excessive. I feel like they could have used
- 40:31that to get an offensive weapon for whatever
- 40:33quarterback was going to be playing for them.
- 40:37But what's done is done at this point. Everybody
- 40:40else, I feel like they're really good number
- 40:42two and maybe number three pieces on the team.
- 40:46But all in all, I feel like it was... pretty
- 40:49much of a solid first wave of free agent signings
- 40:54for the Giants. I think this actually shows that
- 40:57they're actually willing to be a little bit more
- 40:58aggressive and try to bolster up that defense
- 41:00even more because the defense is actually really
- 41:03good. I mean, they have Dexter Lawrence. You
- 41:05have Kayvon Thibodeau. You have Brian Burns.
- 41:07You now have Paulson Adibo. You have Javon Holland
- 41:10now. You have some pretty good pieces. Now, Dante
- 41:13Banks, I feel like he's definitely going to get
- 41:15traded just because... I think he's falling out
- 41:18of the good graces, but that's another story
- 41:20for another day. Commanders, B plus, okay? So
- 41:24the positions of need, DB, defensive end, wide
- 41:27receiver, tight end, D tackle, all right? So
- 41:30they acquired Remy Tunsil, Javon Kinlaw, Marcus
- 41:33Mariota, Will Harris, Jonathan Jones, Jake Martin,
- 41:38Nate Herbig, Eddie Goldman, Foster Sorrell, and
- 41:42then the people that left, okay? Jonathan Allen,
- 41:45Dayami Brown, Jeremy Chin, Dante Fowler, Cornelius
- 41:48Lucas, Benjamin St. Juice, Michael Walker, Alamed
- 41:52Zaccheaus, and Derek Forrest. So... On one hand,
- 41:58they actually did make some pretty good moves,
- 42:00okay? Larimi Tunsil, I feel like that was a major
- 42:02upgrade at tackle. Javon Killlaw, I feel like
- 42:06that was a little bit of a reach. I feel like
- 42:10if you're going to go after a quality edge rusher,
- 42:13go after somebody that can actually shed blocks
- 42:15and is actually pretty good at shedding blocks,
- 42:17okay? Just don't go after just the guy that's
- 42:20just available, personally. That's just all I'm
- 42:23saying, okay? Marcus Mariota, that was actually
- 42:25really good. Let's see, let's see, let's see,
- 42:27let's see, because I'm going around. Jonathan
- 42:29Jones, I really didn't like, only because he's
- 42:33at the tail end of his career. You know, I just
- 42:36don't feel like you make that type of signing
- 42:39for someone like him. And then plus, I would
- 42:40have just drafted. Even if it means that you
- 42:44have to double dip at corner, that's perfectly
- 42:47fine. And then even with safety, I would have
- 42:50thought that they would have tried to get...
- 42:52Jeremy Chin back, but clearly that wasn't the
- 42:54case. Or I would have thought they would have
- 42:56tried to get, you know, Cam Bynum or Trevon Mohrig
- 42:59or any of those safeties that were available
- 43:02in free agency, but clearly they didn't. Defensive
- 43:05line, I feel like they probably could have done
- 43:07more with that. But again, that might be a position
- 43:10where they address in the draft as well. Now,
- 43:12when we look at the Cowboys, see, and the reason
- 43:16why I say that is because for one, they really.
- 43:20They really can't make a whole lot of moves because
- 43:22they're strapped for cash. And then two, the
- 43:25moves that they did make, they are more. death
- 43:28pieces and number two pieces than like, you know,
- 43:32starter caliber pieces. Okay. And I'm going to
- 43:35explain why. So positions of need, defensive
- 43:38tackle, wide receiver, running back, offensive
- 43:40line. Okay. So they acquired Solomon Thomas,
- 43:43Dante Fowler Jr., Robert Jones, Javante Williams,
- 43:46Peyton Turner, Jack Sanborn. The people that
- 43:49left, Demarcus Lawrence, Jordan Lewis, Brandon
- 43:51Cooks, Chauncey Golston, Chuma Adoga, Cooper
- 43:55Rush, and Rico Dow. Solomon Thomas, not really
- 43:59high on, personally. I feel like he's a pretty
- 44:03good defensive lineman, but he's not like a number
- 44:08one or a number two. I feel like he's probably
- 44:09like a number three at best. Dante Fowler, the
- 44:12season that he just had, I would have thought
- 44:14he would have either stayed with the Commanders
- 44:16or would have went somewhere else and actually
- 44:18chased the bag low -key, but he didn't. He went
- 44:21back to the Cowboys. Why? I don't know. Robert
- 44:24Jones. A little bit on the fence about Javante
- 44:27Williams. I feel like there is some potential
- 44:29with that. I feel like ever since the injury
- 44:32that he suffered with the Broncos, I think he's
- 44:35still trying to find his footing and finding
- 44:37his way back into the other side of the league
- 44:41and whatnot because his rookie year, he came
- 44:44out guns blazing. Payton Turner, same thing,
- 44:49a little bit on the fence about. Same thing with
- 44:51Jack Sanborn as well. All in all, the Cowboys,
- 44:55I feel like they're trying to find a way to pay
- 44:58Micah Parsons. And so I think they've shifted
- 45:01a lot of their priority on trying to figure out
- 45:04a way to handle the Micah situation. But at the
- 45:07same time, you want to try to at least make at
- 45:11least two big -ish type of moves when it comes
- 45:14to free agency. Because you do have a lot of
- 45:16holes on your team that do need to be taken care
- 45:19of. And the players that you sign right now,
- 45:22they really don't do a whole lot of that. Now
- 45:24on to the NFC West, okay? So 49ers, I gave them
- 45:27a B. Positions of need, offensive line, defensive
- 45:30line, cornerback, linebacker, wide receiver,
- 45:33running back, okay? So they acquired Luke Farrell,
- 45:35Mack Jones, Demarcus Robertson, Sirian Neal,
- 45:38Jason Pinnock, Luke Gifford, Trey Brown, Richie
- 45:41Grant, John Weeks. The people that left, Aaron
- 45:44Baines, Tarverius Ward, Javon Hargrave, Jalen
- 45:46Moore, Talanua Hofunga, Dre Greenlaw, Leonard
- 45:49Floyd, Malik Collins, Josh Dobbs, Isaac Yedem,
- 45:53Elijah Mitchell, Charlie Heck, Brandon Allen,
- 45:55Demetrius Flanagan Flowers, Rakia Sin, Nick McCloud,
- 45:58and Eric Serbet. Here's the thing. So Luke Farrell,
- 46:03I feel like there was no need for you to sign
- 46:07him personally, especially with how good the
- 46:09tight end class is. Even if you didn't get a
- 46:12tight end in the first round, there's still going
- 46:15to be some really good options in the day two
- 46:17and day three slot for tight end. I think if
- 46:19you would have got Harold Fannin Jr. or you would
- 46:21have gotten the tight end from Miami. I know
- 46:24I keep on messing up his name, but I don't know
- 46:27why. Every time I think about him, I draw a blank.
- 46:31I don't know why. But you have Colston Lovell.
- 46:33You have options at tight end. Now, corner, I
- 46:37would have thought they probably would have tried
- 46:38to really try to... go after DJ Reed or, well,
- 46:43not Charverius Ward, but Carlton Davis or somebody
- 46:47else. Wide receiver, I'm a little bit on the
- 46:52fence about because on one hand, I feel like
- 46:55you could address that in the draft, but at the
- 46:57same time, what other receivers could you really
- 47:00get in free agency that wasn't going to cost
- 47:02you a whole bunch of money? Linebacker, I don't
- 47:06know what to say about that personally. Running
- 47:08back, I really don't know. Like, honestly, a
- 47:12lot of their positions of need, I feel like they
- 47:15could definitely address them in the draft. I
- 47:19don't feel like they should invest a whole bunch
- 47:21of money into, you know, in free agency. And
- 47:24it definitely shows. But, you know, the 49ers
- 47:27will be the 49ers, I guess. Cardinals, I gave
- 47:30them a B+. Now, when we look at their positions
- 47:33of knee, wide receiver, interior, offensive line,
- 47:36and linebacker, so they acquired Joss Sweat,
- 47:38Dalvin Tomlinson, Jacoby Brissett, Akeem Davis
- 47:41-Gaither, Mikel Walker, Simi Fajoko, and Jalen
- 47:45Jones. Chris Tonga, Naquan Jones, Victor Dumacuji,
- 47:52and Zach Pascal. So, well, you know what? On
- 47:57one hand, yes, I would say a B +, but I feel
- 47:59like a B - because, sure, you threw a lot of
- 48:02money at Josh Sweat. David Thomason is a really
- 48:05productive defensive lineman. Jacoby Brissett
- 48:08is a really good backup quarterback. He's somebody
- 48:11that, you know, if you need him to win maybe
- 48:15like two or three games, he could definitely
- 48:16do it. He's not somebody that can, like, you
- 48:19know, carry on the entire season. Just saying.
- 48:22Akeem Dase Gaither. Really good backup of a player,
- 48:26Mikel Walker, still trying to find his footing
- 48:28in the league. Semi Fajoko, those are probably
- 48:31like practice bodies for the summer and whatnot.
- 48:35So all in all, I feel like the Cardinals, they
- 48:40definitely hit with Josh Sweat. Everything else
- 48:42is debatable. I think I'll just leave it at that.
- 48:46Seahawks, C -. And the reason why I say that
- 48:49is because... For one, I think the Sam Darnold
- 48:53and the Cooper Cup and the D -Law signings, I
- 48:55feel like they were definitely reaching. So when
- 48:57we look at their positions of need, interior
- 48:59offensive line, tight end, cornerback, safety,
- 49:01receiver, okay? So they acquired Sam Darnold,
- 49:05Cooper Cup, Demarcus Lawrence, Marquez Valdez
- 49:08-Scanley, Josh Jones, De 'Anthony Bell, River
- 49:10Craft. I know I just put your last name. I'm
- 49:15sorry. Shamar Jean Charles, Stephen Sims, Eric
- 49:18Serbet. And then the people that left were Draymond
- 49:21Jones, Roy Robertson -Harris, Lakin Thomason,
- 49:25Trey Brown, Artie Burns, The Legend, Pharrell
- 49:28Brown, and Stone Forsythe. The Cooper Cubs signing,
- 49:32I really didn't like. I feel like that was a
- 49:34definite reach. On one hand, I understand that
- 49:36he wants to play for his hometown team and whatnot,
- 49:39but I just feel like he's reached because in
- 49:42recent years, he has not been able to stay healthy,
- 49:44and it definitely shows. And he is somebody that
- 49:48is hit or miss, honestly. Demarcus Lawrence,
- 49:52again, I feel like that's a miss because he really
- 49:56hasn't been as productive lately. You're talking
- 49:59about somebody who at one point was definitely
- 50:03one of the best pass rushers in the league. And
- 50:07lately, he really hasn't lived up to those expectations.
- 50:10Even the contract that the Cowboys gave him.
- 50:14and whatnot. I still feel like that was a reach
- 50:17as well. Now, when we look at Sam Darnold, I
- 50:21feel like that was probably a pretty good deal.
- 50:25And the only reason why I say that is because
- 50:28when you look at the structure of the deal, it's
- 50:30essentially a one -year deal. They can let him
- 50:34go next season and not face any consequences
- 50:37for it. That's probably the only reason why.
- 50:39Outside of that, You can debate about everything
- 50:42else. Marquez, Velding, Scantling, really good
- 50:45veteran receiver. He could be a two or a three
- 50:49or anybody else's team. Can definitely provide
- 50:52a lot of insight and mentorship to the receivers
- 50:55that are already with the Seahawks. So all in
- 50:57all, not really the best, but it's the Seahawks,
- 51:02I guess. I just don't understand how you let
- 51:06DK Metcalf go. and Tyler Lockett and Geno Smith,
- 51:11and then you bring in Cooper Cupp, Marquez Valdez
- 51:14-Scantling, and then Dan Darnold. I just don't
- 51:17see it personally. Seeing crazier things, okay?
- 51:21Rams, A+. So when we look at their positions
- 51:24of need, quarterback, wide receiver, tackle,
- 51:27linebacker, quarterback, defensive line. All
- 51:30right. So they acquired Devontae Adams, Puna
- 51:33Four, Coleman Shelton, Nathan Landman. And then
- 51:36the people that left Cooper Cup, Bobby Brown,
- 51:39Michael Holtz, Demarcus Robinson, Christian Roseboom,
- 51:43Hunter Long, Tyler Johnson, Neville Gillimore,
- 51:46Jake Hummel and Rashad Weaver. So Devontae Adams,
- 51:51I feel like that was an upgrade over Cooper Cup.
- 51:54And the reason why I say that is because Devontae
- 51:57Adams, even at this point of his career, is still
- 52:01a really productive receiver. You're talking
- 52:03about somebody that is still a number one receiver.
- 52:06Whereas Cooper Cupp, he is somebody that at this
- 52:10point is probably a two on a lot of other people's
- 52:13teams. Like even when the Rams are going to release
- 52:18him, I didn't believe that anybody was going
- 52:21to give him. probably well over like 18 or 19
- 52:24million a year i did not believe that but the
- 52:27seahawks were willing to write that check so
- 52:29that's on them puna ford is a sleeper of a defensive
- 52:32lineman he does not get the recognition that
- 52:35he probably deserves but puna ford is a really
- 52:38productive defensive lineman okay am i saying
- 52:41he's in the same conversation as you know a miles
- 52:44garrett and chris jones and whatnot no but he's
- 52:48probably that second or third tier when it comes
- 52:50to defensive linemen Coleman Shelton, really
- 52:54good signing. Nathan Landman, really good signing
- 52:57as well. All in all, the Rams, they didn't have
- 53:02to be as aggressive as what they needed to be.
- 53:05I feel like just going after Devontae Adams and
- 53:08Puna Ford definitely shored up a lot of things.
- 53:13I feel like the other positions could definitely
- 53:15be addressed and will be addressed in the draft.
- 53:18And maybe even in the second wave of free agency,
- 53:21just saying. And when we go to the AFC North,
- 53:24okay, Brown, C-, positions of need, quarterback,
- 53:28wide receiver, running back, tackle, edge, linebacker,
- 53:32okay? So they acquired Malik Collins, Cornelius
- 53:35Lucas, Joe Tyron, Tevin Jenkins, DeAndre Carter,
- 53:38Jerome Baker. The people that left, Dalvin Thomason,
- 53:42Juan Thornhill, James Hudson, Jameis Winston,
- 53:45Michael Ford. Charlie Huglett, D 'Anthony Bell,
- 53:49Bailey Zappi, and James Prochet. This was just
- 53:55not good for the Browns. And granted, I understand
- 53:57they have a lot of financial restrictions because
- 54:00of Deshaun Watson's contract and whatnot. But
- 54:04these aren't upgrades. These are more summer
- 54:09and practice squad bodies. And I'm not trying
- 54:12to be disrespectful. Like Joe Tyron. Former first
- 54:15rounder really didn't live up to the hype or
- 54:17the expectations with the Buccaneers. Finds another
- 54:20home with the Browns. Tevin Jenkins, he's a pretty
- 54:23good offensive lineman. He just hasn't been able
- 54:25to stay healthy. That's the one knock against
- 54:28him. When he's on the field, he's pretty good.
- 54:31But once he starts to get hurt, it's basically
- 54:35a lost cause. Jerome Baker. He's definitely floated
- 54:39around the league, you know, outside of, you
- 54:42know, those really good years with the Dolphins.
- 54:44He's basically been, you know, bouncing around
- 54:46everywhere. Cornelius Lucas, again, it's not
- 54:51something that moves the needle. It's not something
- 54:53where it's like, okay, he addresses this primary
- 54:58position and we don't have to no longer, you
- 55:00know, worry about it. Like, it's not like that.
- 55:03So I gave them a C minus. Now the Bengals, I
- 55:07would say a D. You know what? No, I'm not going
- 55:10to do it. I'm not going to do it. So positions
- 55:11of need. Interior, offensive line, edge, linebacker,
- 55:15safety, running back. Okay, so they acquired
- 55:17to Daryl Slayton, Oren Berg, Samaji Piran, Lucas
- 55:21Patrick. The people that left, Alex Kappa, Sheldon
- 55:24Rankins, Akeem Davis Gaither, Trenton Browns,
- 55:27and Khalil Herbert, as well as Jay Tuffley. They
- 55:31just really didn't do anything. And granted,
- 55:33I understand they were trying to, you know, hash
- 55:36out deals with. both uh jamar chase and t higgins
- 55:40that's perfectly fine but you needed to do more
- 55:44you needed to bring in at least a few other people
- 55:47and i feel like they didn't do it now granted
- 55:50they brought back bj hill but like does that
- 55:52move the needle i mean sure a little bit but
- 55:55it's nothing significant because right now you've
- 55:58allocated at least 50 maybe even more of your
- 56:02cap to three players so you have to try to fill
- 56:06in every other position on the team with smaller
- 56:10contracts. And even with the smaller contracts,
- 56:14they have to be productive players, not players
- 56:17that are going to be competing for roster spots.
- 56:20Now, granted, I understand the Bengals definitely
- 56:23wanted to prioritize taking care of their players,
- 56:26but... That is not an excuse for trying to upgrade
- 56:29certain positions on your team. You know that
- 56:31corner is a problem. You know that linebacker
- 56:34is still a problem because Jermaine Pratt still
- 56:37wants to be traded. You have a lot of positions
- 56:40that you need to fill. And there were some veteran
- 56:43players that you probably could have brought
- 56:44in. But I don't understand why. Maybe it's the
- 56:48Bengals being cheap. I don't know. The Ravens.
- 56:51I probably would say... A C, maybe. All right,
- 56:58when we look at their positions of need, interior
- 57:00offensive line, cornerback, edge, safety, kicker,
- 57:03interior linebacker, I keep on saying interior,
- 57:06inside linebacker, excuse me. So they acquired
- 57:09Cooper Rush, DeAndre Hopkins, Jake Hummel, and
- 57:13Chidobe Woosier. Here is my problem. Well, actually,
- 57:17no, it's not really a problem. The Ravens are
- 57:20in a situation similar to the Eagles where they're
- 57:22still in their Super Bowl window. So honestly
- 57:25speaking, they don't have to make a whole lot
- 57:29of moves. They're not in a rush where it's like,
- 57:31oh, we have to get this person. Oh, we have to
- 57:34get that person. Oh, we have to do this or we
- 57:36have to do that. Not really. They can just sit
- 57:39because players are going to want to play for
- 57:42the Ravens. We see it every single time. Same
- 57:44thing with the Eagles. Same thing with the Bills.
- 57:46Same thing with the Chiefs. OK, everybody's going
- 57:49to want to play for one of those teams because
- 57:51all those teams are still Super Bowl caliber
- 57:53teams. Not to mention the Ravens have had somewhat
- 57:57of like financial struggles. So they're still
- 58:00trying to, you know, give people extensions and
- 58:03figure things out from from a salary cap standpoint.
- 58:06So that's probably why they've been a little
- 58:09bit quiet when it came to the first wave of free
- 58:12agency. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd be
- 58:15a little bit more aggressive in that second and
- 58:17third wave of free agency. Now, when we look
- 58:20at the Steelers, I wanted to give them a C -.
- 58:24Well, I want to give them a C-, but I also want
- 58:27to give them a B, but I feel like a C - would
- 58:29definitely do. Positions of need, cornerback,
- 58:32defensive tackle, running back, quarterback,
- 58:35tackle. So they acquired DK Metcalf, Malik Harrison,
- 58:38Darius Slay, Mason Rudolph, Brandon Echols, Juan
- 58:41Thornhill, Kenneth Gainwell, and Eze Otunwahu.
- 58:48I think I just butchered your name. I am so sorry,
- 58:51sir. The people that left, Dan Moore, Justin
- 58:54Fields, Russell Wilson, James Daniels, Larry
- 58:56Ogunjobi, Dante Jackson, Najee Harrison, Landon
- 58:59Roberts, Mike Williams, Van Jefferson, Nate Herbig,
- 59:01and Kyle Allen, just to name a few. DK Metcalf,
- 59:06that was definitely an upgrade. Malik Harrison
- 59:08did not like that move. And I will continue to
- 59:10say I didn't like that move because you could
- 59:13have gotten a Landon Roberts for probably around
- 59:17the same amount of money that he signed with
- 59:19the Raiders. But instead, you tried to kill two
- 59:23birds with one stone and get with somebody who
- 59:25has special teams experience, but he doesn't
- 59:28do the things that a Landon Roberts was able
- 59:31to do. Landon Roberts said he wanted to retire
- 59:34as a Steeler and you did not fulfill that wish.
- 59:38Why? I don't know. Darius Slay, I feel like that's
- 59:42a good of an upgrade over Dante Jackson personally
- 59:46because Darius Slay was still playing fairly
- 59:49well with the Eagles last season. And I think
- 59:52he would be a really good mentor role for people
- 59:55like Joey Porter Jr. And what's his name? What's
- 59:59his name? Corey Trice as well. Mason Rudolph,
- 1:00:02I feel like that was pretty good as well, especially
- 1:00:04with all the controversy going on with Aaron
- 1:00:08Rodgers and whatnot. Brandon Echols, really good
- 1:00:10slot option for them. Could be competition for
- 1:00:14Beanie Bishop. Hill, safety number three. Kenneth
- 1:00:18Gainwell, running back three slash special teams.
- 1:00:23Ezzie, on some wow. I just feel like that's like
- 1:00:28more of a death piece, honestly. That's probably
- 1:00:31it. Now let's go to the AFC South. Oh man, we
- 1:00:34still got a whole lot. And then we still got
- 1:00:35the Divisional Rodeo. Man, oh man, you guys are
- 1:00:39getting a loaded episode today. All right, so
- 1:00:41let's get to the AFC South. All right, so Titans.
- 1:00:47So when we look at their positions of need, quarterback,
- 1:00:50wide receiver, edge, safety, and kicker. So they
- 1:00:52acquired Dan Moore, Cody Barton, Kevin Zeitler,
- 1:00:55Draymond Jones, Xavier Woods, Sebastian Joseph
- 1:00:58Day, Van Jefferson, Brandon Allen, Lorenzo Carter,
- 1:01:01Johnny Hecker, Blake Lance, Tim Boyle, James
- 1:01:04Prochet, and Joey Sly. I think I pronounced your
- 1:01:08name wrong. I'm sorry. People that left, Harold
- 1:01:10Landry, Mason Rudolph, Nick Westbrook, Luke Gifford,
- 1:01:14Ryan Stonehouse, Jack Gibbons, Jadovia Woozie,
- 1:01:17Jerome Baker, and Dylan Runce. So Dan Moore was
- 1:01:22pretty good. Maybe a little bit of an overpay,
- 1:01:26just a little bit, but only time will tell. Cody
- 1:01:30Barton, I feel like was pretty productive. Kevin
- 1:01:32Zeiler, I feel like that's an upgrade. Draymond
- 1:01:35Jones, debatable. Xavier Woods. productive. Sebastian
- 1:01:39Joseph Day, I feel like is really productive
- 1:01:42on the defensive line. Van Jefferson, wide receiver
- 1:01:45three option. Lorenzo Carter, pass rush three
- 1:01:49option at this point. Everything else is really
- 1:01:52debatable. On to the Jaguars. I gave them a B,
- 1:01:57but I was a little bit hesitant to give them
- 1:01:59this B. Positions of need, interior offensive
- 1:02:02line, tight end, wide receiver, DB, running back,
- 1:02:05and defensive line. They acquired Patrick McCurry,
- 1:02:08Jordan Lewis, Robert Hainsey, Eric Murray, Dayami
- 1:02:12Brown, Chuma Adoga, Johnny Munt, Hunter Long,
- 1:02:16Nick Mullins, and Fred Johnson. The people that
- 1:02:18left, Evan Ingram, Andre Sisco, Luke Farrell,
- 1:02:21Mack Jones, Ronald Darby, Tim Jones, Jeremiah
- 1:02:24Ledbetter, Devin Duvernay, Blake Hintz, Ezi Oltemwalu,
- 1:02:29and Josh Reynolds. So Patrick McCurry was a little
- 1:02:34bit of a reach. And I only say that because,
- 1:02:36sure, he probably has versatility. But, I mean,
- 1:02:42you're just paying for his versatility. That's
- 1:02:44all you're paying for. You're not paying for
- 1:02:45anything else at this point. And if that's the
- 1:02:48case, well, then fine. You justified that deal.
- 1:02:51Jordan Lewis. For you to reset the nickel corner
- 1:02:54market for him, I probably wouldn't have done
- 1:02:58that personally. I just feel like personally,
- 1:03:02Jordan Lewis, I mean, he's a productive nickel
- 1:03:06corner, but he's not somebody where it's like,
- 1:03:09oh, we have to reset the nickel corner market
- 1:03:11for him. Just no. Eric Murray, pretty good signing.
- 1:03:17Dayami Brown, only time will tell. A lot of these
- 1:03:20signings are, you know, wait and see type of
- 1:03:24signings, honestly. Patrick McCurry, I feel like
- 1:03:26it was solid -ish, but we have to see where is
- 1:03:30he going to be placed at at this point because
- 1:03:32he can play any position on the offensive line,
- 1:03:35but there are certain positions that he's better
- 1:03:37at than others. Texans, C -plus. All right, when
- 1:03:42we look at their positions of need, offensive
- 1:03:44line, wide receiver, and D -tackle. So they acquired
- 1:03:47Christian Kirk, Cam Robinson, Tremont Smith,
- 1:03:50Nick Neiman, Sheldon Rankins, Justin Watson,
- 1:03:53Daryl Taylor, Lakin Thomason, Trenton Brown,
- 1:03:55Ronald Darby, Braxton Berrios, and Casey Tuhill.
- 1:03:58The people that left, I know it was Laramie Tunsell,
- 1:04:02it was Kendrick Green, and I know it was a few
- 1:04:04others, if I'm not mistaken. I just drew a blank
- 1:04:08for a moment. But with them... Ken Robinson was
- 1:04:11a reach. Ken Robinson did not play that well
- 1:04:15when he was with the Vikings. OK, I feel like
- 1:04:19if that's supposed to be the replacement for
- 1:04:21the Remy Tunsil, I feel like that's a that's
- 1:04:23a downgrade. That's not an upgrade. And at best,
- 1:04:26I would have said just trade up. Well, I mean,
- 1:04:29not trade up, but draft somebody. But we'll we'll
- 1:04:31we'll talk about that when we get into the division
- 1:04:33rodeo. OK, Christian Kirk, I feel like that was
- 1:04:36definitely a really good signing. Especially
- 1:04:39when it comes to what they had to give up to
- 1:04:41get him, which really wasn't a lot. I feel like
- 1:04:43that was pretty good. Everything else is debatable.
- 1:04:47You know what I mean? Sheldon Rankins, really
- 1:04:49good signing. Lakin Thomason, veteran guard,
- 1:04:52really good. Ronald Darby, really good veteran
- 1:04:55corner as well. Everybody else, like I just said,
- 1:04:59is more practice -deaf, summer camp body, fighting
- 1:05:05for the roster spot. Colts. Positions of need,
- 1:05:09DB, defensive line, offensive line, tight end,
- 1:05:12linebacker, edge. So they acquired Cameron Bynum,
- 1:05:15Charverius Ward, Daniel Jones, Corey Ballantyne,
- 1:05:18Herbert, and Neville Gallimore. The people that
- 1:05:21left, Will Fries, Dale Odeonbo, I think I just
- 1:05:27put your last name, I'm sorry, Ryan Kelly, Kylan
- 1:05:31Granson, and Grant Stort. God, you guys got some
- 1:05:35weird last names. I know I got a weird name,
- 1:05:37but like, man, these are weird. So for them,
- 1:05:41I wanted to give them a B plus. And I was a little
- 1:05:44bit on the fence about it. And I'll explain why.
- 1:05:46So Cameron Bynum and Charverius Ward, really
- 1:05:49good signings. OK, Charverius Ward, wide receiver
- 1:05:52one. Cameron Bynum, really good safety as well.
- 1:05:57Daniel Jones, that's competition for Anthony
- 1:05:59Richardson. We'll get more in depth about that
- 1:06:01when we get to the divisional rodeo. Corey Ballantyne,
- 1:06:04if you want to argue with it, argue with it.
- 1:06:06Don't really care. Khalil Herbert, I feel like
- 1:06:08that was a good signing as well. Neville Gallimore,
- 1:06:11I feel like that was a pretty good signing as
- 1:06:14well. So all in all. They're two big market signings
- 1:06:19where Cameron Bynum and Charverius Ward were
- 1:06:22actually really good. You get two really good
- 1:06:25productive DBs. which is actually one of the
- 1:06:29things that the Colts actually really need. Everything
- 1:06:32else, I feel like they'll probably address it
- 1:06:35in the draft, honestly speaking. I feel like
- 1:06:38they're in a state where enough draft picks where
- 1:06:42they can address all the other positions. On
- 1:06:45to the AFC East, okay? Let's see. Where are we
- 1:06:49at? Patriots, A+. This one is a lot. Positions
- 1:06:53of need. Offensive line, edge, corner, wide receiver,
- 1:06:57tight end, linebacker, running back, safety,
- 1:06:59DT. They acquired Milton Williams, Carlton Davis,
- 1:07:03Harold Landry, Stephon Diggs, Robert Spillane,
- 1:07:05Morgan Moses, Garrett Bradbury, Matt Collins,
- 1:07:09Josh Dobbs, Marcus Epps. Wait a minute. Oh, no.
- 1:07:12Oh, wait, I'm forgetting. Klaviyan, Chaseyon,
- 1:07:15Chris Tonga, Wes Schweitzer, and Jack Gibbons.
- 1:07:19So the people that left, Jacoby Brissett, Jonathan
- 1:07:22Jones, DeAndre Wise, and Joey Sly. So Milton
- 1:07:27Williams, a little bit on the fence about only
- 1:07:32because he really didn't play as much. But at
- 1:07:34the same time, when he was on the field, what
- 1:07:36was he doing? Making plays. Carlton Davis, that
- 1:07:40was a really good signing. You didn't overreach
- 1:07:43to seal the deal, but at the same time, you gave
- 1:07:48him a pretty good deal. And I think that's all
- 1:07:50that matters. Stephon Diggs, that was a really
- 1:07:52good signing. Wide receiver one. Okay, Robert
- 1:07:55Spillane, really productive tackling machine
- 1:07:57of a linebacker. Okay. He played with the Raiders,
- 1:08:01and he played fairly well with the Steelers as
- 1:08:03well. So Morgan Moses, you have a backup veteran
- 1:08:08tackle at best. Honestly, somewhat of an iron
- 1:08:12man. Gary Bradbury, that was an upgrade as well
- 1:08:17when it comes to guard. Mack Hollins, definitely
- 1:08:21of a sleeper of a signing. And the reason why
- 1:08:23I say that is because Mack Hollins doesn't get
- 1:08:26talked about as much. But when you need him to
- 1:08:29make a play, he is the guy to make a play. Sure,
- 1:08:32he might be a little bit weird with all of his
- 1:08:33superstitions and everything and whatnot. And
- 1:08:36sure, he doesn't wear shoes when he's going to
- 1:08:39the games and whatnot. But the fact of the matter
- 1:08:41is, this guy makes plays. This guy is a baller.
- 1:08:45Josh Dobbs, really good backup quarterback option.
- 1:08:48Marcus Epps, that was a good signing as well
- 1:08:51when it comes to safety. Everything else. is
- 1:08:55more, you know, summertime signings. Nothing
- 1:08:58is, you know, written in stone and whatnot. The
- 1:09:01Jets, I gave them a C, okay? So positions of
- 1:09:04need. Quarterback, tackle, outside linebacker,
- 1:09:09corner, tight end, safety. Defensive tackle.
- 1:09:12So they acquired Justin Fields, Brandon Steffens,
- 1:09:14Andre Sisco, Josh Myers, Chris Boyd, Derek Nandi,
- 1:09:18Brian Colward, Stone Smart, Tyra Johnson, Rashad
- 1:09:22Weaver, Jay Tuffley, and Josh Reynolds. So the
- 1:09:26people that left, Aaron Rodgers, Devontae Adams,
- 1:09:28DJ Reed, so far. So the only reason why I gave
- 1:09:32them a C is because, for one, Justin Fields,
- 1:09:37I don't feel like that really was an upgrade.
- 1:09:40I feel like that was somewhat of a stagnant move.
- 1:09:44And the reason why I say that is because we only
- 1:09:47saw him play for six games. And you paid him
- 1:09:50the amount that you paid him like he basically
- 1:09:53played an entire season. Not to mention, how
- 1:09:56is he going to work in this Jets offense? Because
- 1:09:59the offensive coordinator comes from... uh what's
- 1:10:02the dude what what's the what's the head coach
- 1:10:05for the bears him i forgot his name i just drew
- 1:10:08a blank but how was that how was that going to
- 1:10:10work with justin fields that i don't know brandon
- 1:10:12stephens that was a reach brandon stephens andre
- 1:10:15cisco is a really good well not i want to say
- 1:10:20really good but he's a good safety okay he's
- 1:10:24a good you know backup safety at best Everybody
- 1:10:28else is a little bit, you know, debatable. Derek
- 1:10:31Nnamdi, I mean, he was on those Super Bowl Chiefs
- 1:10:34teams. That's really it. Everything else is,
- 1:10:38you know, up in the air at this point. Bills,
- 1:10:40C+. And the only reason why is because they really
- 1:10:46haven't been active in free agency because they've
- 1:10:48been trying to take care of, like, you know,
- 1:10:50all of their current players, which I don't blame
- 1:10:52them for. So that's probably why their grade
- 1:10:54is so low. But when we look at their positions
- 1:10:56of need, cornerback, interior defensive line,
- 1:11:02safety, wide receiver, and running back. So they
- 1:11:04got Joey Bosa, Josh Palmer, Michael. Hoach, Larry
- 1:11:08Ogunjobi, Dane Jackson, Derek Forrest, Darrington
- 1:11:12Evans, and Kendrick Green. Joey Bosa, I feel
- 1:11:15like that was a reach because Joey Bosa has not
- 1:11:18been able to really stay healthy, and he has
- 1:11:20not been very productive in the last maybe three
- 1:11:23years. Josh Palmer, I do feel like that was a
- 1:11:26really good signing. I feel like that's wide
- 1:11:28receiver two right there, or maybe wide receiver
- 1:11:31three, depending on how big one has been and
- 1:11:32whatnot. Larry Ogunjobi is a rotational defensive
- 1:11:35lineman at this point. He is not somebody that
- 1:11:38you can rely on. He is not somebody that's going
- 1:11:40to give you five to eight sacks. He is somebody
- 1:11:42that, you know, if somebody gets hurt, you can
- 1:11:45definitely plug them in. Kendrick Green, that's
- 1:11:47a summer body at this point. Dane Jackson, debatable.
- 1:11:51Very debatable at this point. Yeah, I feel like
- 1:11:55any of the other positions that they did not
- 1:11:57address in this first wave of free agency will
- 1:12:00definitely be addressed either in the draft or
- 1:12:02in that second to third wave of free agency because
- 1:12:05people still want to play for the Bills because
- 1:12:07the Bills are still in a really good spot. Now,
- 1:12:10on to the AFC West, all right? So the Raiders
- 1:12:14gave them a B, all right? Positions of need,
- 1:12:17quarterback, wide receiver, DB. running back,
- 1:12:20linebacker. So they acquired Jeremy Chin, Alex
- 1:12:23Kappa, Eric Stokes, Alandon Roberts, Lonnie Johnson,
- 1:12:27Raheem Mostert, Ian Thomas, Leke Fultu, Devin
- 1:12:30White, and Geno Smith. So my takeaway from this
- 1:12:34was the Raiders, for one, prioritize quarterback
- 1:12:37by getting Geno Smith, which was which was really
- 1:12:40good. Then you go and you get Jeremy Chin and
- 1:12:43then you get Alex Capital. Like you're bringing
- 1:12:45in some veterans, some really good, productive
- 1:12:47veteran players, which is really good. Not to
- 1:12:50mention you're not paying them a whole lot of
- 1:12:51money, which is actually really good, too. So
- 1:12:54I think Landon Roberts provide provides that,
- 1:12:57you know, that mentorship role for the younger
- 1:13:00linebackers. And I think pairing him with Devin
- 1:13:04White would actually be really good because Landon
- 1:13:07is the thumper. And I think Devin White still
- 1:13:09has some athleticism to where he can, you know,
- 1:13:12play really good in coverage. Raheem Mostert
- 1:13:14is still a really, really productive running
- 1:13:16back. I mean, he can still probably give you,
- 1:13:18you know, a thousand rushing yards season. And
- 1:13:21I think that is really needed, especially with
- 1:13:23the Pete Carroll system. So I think pairing him
- 1:13:27with maybe like a younger running back would
- 1:13:29definitely, you know. do some damage. But all
- 1:13:34in all, I think they had a really solid free
- 1:13:36agent first wave. I do. I think the most important
- 1:13:40thing was them getting Geno Smith because they
- 1:13:44were in a position where they couldn't go and
- 1:13:45get either Cam Ward or Sador Sanders. They knew
- 1:13:49that. So what's the best thing to do? Get Geno
- 1:13:51Smith because why? Geno Smith had his best years
- 1:13:54under who? Pete Carroll. Looking at the Broncos.
- 1:13:57Now this one was difficult because I wanted to
- 1:14:00give them an A, but I feel like a B plus is like,
- 1:14:04it's just there. It's like, it's just right.
- 1:14:06I don't know. You let me know. So, positions
- 1:14:09of need. Defensive line, tight end, running back,
- 1:14:12receiver, and inside linebacker. So, they got
- 1:14:15Tolenoa Hufunga, Dre Greenlaw, Evan Ingram, Trent
- 1:14:19Shurfield, okay? And then the people that left,
- 1:14:22Cody Barton, Zach Wilson, Tremont Smith, Javonte
- 1:14:24Williams, Riley Dixon, and LaJordan Humphrey.
- 1:14:27So, Tolenoa Hufunga. That was a steal. Between
- 1:14:32that and Dre Greenlaw, those were steal signings
- 1:14:35because you have two really good players in their
- 1:14:39positions, okay? Dre Greenlaw was doing his thing.
- 1:14:42Him and Fred Warner, that was a deadly combination,
- 1:14:45okay? Talanoa Hafunga is a rising star of a safety.
- 1:14:49He is going to continue to get better and better
- 1:14:51as his career progresses. Evan Ingram, I think
- 1:14:55that was a sleeper of a signing as well. For
- 1:14:58the Jaguars to cut him and then he go to the
- 1:15:02Broncos, I think that's really good. I think
- 1:15:04that automatically eliminates tight end from
- 1:15:07a need when it comes to a drafting standpoint.
- 1:15:10Running back, I feel like they'll definitely
- 1:15:13address that in the draft for sure. Inside linebacker,
- 1:15:17you could add somebody else if you want to, but
- 1:15:19I feel like Dre Greenlaw and then Alex Singleton,
- 1:15:21I think that's more than enough. Defensive line,
- 1:15:25I feel like they'll definitely address that in
- 1:15:26the draft as well because I feel like they probably
- 1:15:29wasn't going to pay. 18 to maybe 25 million for
- 1:15:33a defensive lineman. I just feel like they wasn't
- 1:15:35going to do that. Chargers, B plus. So their
- 1:15:38positions of need, wide receiver, edge, defensive
- 1:15:41line, corner, tight end, interior offensive line,
- 1:15:44linebacker, running back. Okay, so they acquired
- 1:15:46Mekhi Becton, Dante Jackson, Najee Harris, Mike
- 1:15:49Williams, Tyler Conklin, Benjamin St. Juice,
- 1:15:51Deshaun Hand, Delshaun Phillips, Naquan Jones,
- 1:15:55and Andre James. The people that left, Joey Bosa,
- 1:15:58Christian Fultz, and Josh Palmer. Puna Ford,
- 1:16:01Nick Neiman, Morgan Fox, Sammy Fajoko, Stone
- 1:16:05Smart, and Foster Sorrell. So, Makai Becton,
- 1:16:11a little bit on the fence about. And the only
- 1:16:13reason why I say that is because if Makai Becton
- 1:16:17had did what he did for like maybe two or three
- 1:16:21years, then I would say that that's a good sign,
- 1:16:23right? But it was only just one year. And we
- 1:16:27don't know if he will be able to continue to
- 1:16:29do what he did with the Eagles as he's going
- 1:16:31to do with the Chargers. We don't know. He's
- 1:16:34still a question mark in my mind. Dante Jackson,
- 1:16:37I feel like, was a pretty good signing. It's
- 1:16:41just... Towards the end of the season, he just
- 1:16:43wasn't able to stay healthy because he was having
- 1:16:45back problems. Najee Harris, I feel like that
- 1:16:48was a solid running back signing. He's the bell
- 1:16:52cow that I think Jim Harbaugh really wants. And
- 1:16:55so I feel like putting him behind this offensive
- 1:16:59line, they are going to wreck shop. You are putting
- 1:17:0420, not 24, that shows you how old I am. You
- 1:17:08are putting new tracks on a tank. That's what
- 1:17:12it is. Mike Williams, love the reunions. I think
- 1:17:16Mike Williams along with, who's the receiver?
- 1:17:20Who's the receiver? Ladd McConkie. I knew it.
- 1:17:22Ladd McConkie and Mike Williams, I think that's
- 1:17:25pretty good. I think they still need to add maybe
- 1:17:28one or two more receivers personally because
- 1:17:30I think Quentin Johnson is not going to be staying
- 1:17:33with the Chargers anytime soon. Tyler Conklin,
- 1:17:37he's a pretty good productive tight end. And
- 1:17:41I'll just leave it there, honestly. Benjamin
- 1:17:43St. Juiced, I feel like that was not a really
- 1:17:45good signing. He got smoked by George Pinkins
- 1:17:49last season. But I remember that game. Somebody
- 1:17:56picked off George Pickens. And instead of him
- 1:17:58going for the tackle, he went straight for Benjamin
- 1:18:01St. Juice. That was hilarious. Back to everything
- 1:18:03else. All in all, I do feel like the Chargers
- 1:18:06definitely made some upgrades at certain positions.
- 1:18:09And, you know, all the other signings are just,
- 1:18:12you know, wait and see. Now on to the Chiefs,
- 1:18:14okay? So positions of need. Offensive line, wide
- 1:18:17receiver, running back, defensive line, inside
- 1:18:20linebacker. So they acquired Jalen Moore, Christian
- 1:18:22Fulton, Elijah Mitchell, Jerry Tillery, Gardner
- 1:18:26Minshew, Bailey Zappi, and Robert Rochelle. The
- 1:18:29people that left, Tershaw Wharton, Justin Reed,
- 1:18:31DeAndre Hopkins, Justin Watson, Josh Uche, Shamaji
- 1:18:36P. Ryan, McCole Hartman, Derrick Heath -Taylor.
- 1:18:39So Jalen Moore, I probably have to watch more
- 1:18:43footage of him, but... I understand that they
- 1:18:46wanted to address left tackle, but I feel like
- 1:18:48there's different ways of addressing it personally.
- 1:18:51Sometimes shelling out money to address a need
- 1:18:55can sometimes hurt you more than actually help
- 1:18:58you, but only time will tell. Christian Fulton,
- 1:19:00I feel like that was a pretty good signing. He's
- 1:19:03probably cornerback two or maybe cornerback three
- 1:19:06at best. Elijah Mitchell, backup running back
- 1:19:09option just in case. Isaiah Pacheco gets hurt
- 1:19:12or Isaiah Pacheco holds out because I think he's
- 1:19:16trying to get paid this season. Gardner Minshew,
- 1:19:19pretty good backup role. Same thing with Bailey
- 1:19:22Zappi. I think Bailey Zappi is probably like
- 1:19:25quarterback three at this point. Maybe he can
- 1:19:28use this time to develop and become better. But
- 1:19:31all in all, just like I said with the Eagles
- 1:19:34and the Ravens and the Bills. The Chiefs are
- 1:19:36in a spot where, yes, they are still Super Bowl
- 1:19:38contenders, so they really don't have to make
- 1:19:40a whole lot of crazy moves and whatnot. I feel
- 1:19:43like they're probably going to retool their team
- 1:19:45through the draft and whatnot. So let's get to
- 1:19:48the divisional rodeo, folks. You thought this
- 1:19:51episode was over? No, it is not. We are just
- 1:19:54beginning. Let us start with the AFC South, all
- 1:19:58right? Colts, Jaguars, Texans, and Titans, all
- 1:20:02right? So let's start with the Colts. So their
- 1:20:04salary cap, 21 .7 million with a rollover cap
- 1:20:07of 10 million. Free agents, Will Fries, Ryan
- 1:20:10Kelly, Adeo. Oh, you know what? I'll just say
- 1:20:15Dale. I'll just leave it there because I don't
- 1:20:17want to keep on butchering your last name. Kylan
- 1:20:19Granson, Grant Stroud, Mo Alleycox, Joe Flacco,
- 1:20:23EJ Speed, even though he signed with the Texans
- 1:20:25a few days ago, Julian Blackman, Ronnie Harrison,
- 1:20:28Mark Glanowski, and Trey Sermon. All right? So
- 1:20:32their draft picks. They have their first, their
- 1:20:35second, their third, their fourth, their fifth,
- 1:20:37their sixth. and they're seventh. So they have
- 1:20:39all their picks, okay? They don't have duplicates
- 1:20:41of any of their picks, which actually pretty
- 1:20:43sucks. Now their positions of need, DB, defensive
- 1:20:46line, offensive line, tight end, linebacker,
- 1:20:48and edge. Me personally, I feel like we could
- 1:20:51probably take DB off only because they have Jarvarius
- 1:20:54Ward and they have Cameron Bynum. But everything
- 1:20:57else, I feel like you could definitely address
- 1:21:00in the draft. And so here's my thing. So on one
- 1:21:05hand, You do want to bolster up this defense
- 1:21:09even more. But the question is, how high do you
- 1:21:13value defensive line? Because right now you have
- 1:21:16the 14th pick. So you could be in the sweepstakes
- 1:21:20to possibly get Kenneth Grant. I think if you
- 1:21:23get Kenneth Grant and you pair him with DeForest
- 1:21:25Buckner and Quiddie Paye and the other pass rusher
- 1:21:28that they have, which I literally forgot his
- 1:21:31name just now. I think that would be a ferocious
- 1:21:34defensive line because you're going to have somebody
- 1:21:37to get through because not everybody will be
- 1:21:40able to get double teams. So someone's going
- 1:21:42to get through, okay? Now, for all the other
- 1:21:45positions, okay, offensive line, I feel like
- 1:21:48you could address that maybe day two, maybe day
- 1:21:50three. Tight end, with the tight end class being
- 1:21:53as good as it is, you could probably address
- 1:21:56that maybe like the second round if you really
- 1:21:58wanted to because I feel like if they get Harold
- 1:22:00Fannin Jr., I think that would be great. Or you
- 1:22:04could get Colston Loveland. You know, you have
- 1:22:07options, honestly. Linebacker, I feel like you
- 1:22:10could address that in free agency. I know they
- 1:22:14still have Zaire Franklin, but I feel like you're
- 1:22:16probably going to need to either draft somebody
- 1:22:18or just get somebody. Now, with the linebackers
- 1:22:21in the draft, you'll have Chris Paul Jr., Jiha
- 1:22:23Campbell, Carson Swearinger from either Cal or
- 1:22:27UCLA. So you'll have some options. Edge. I feel
- 1:22:32like you could address that in the first round
- 1:22:34if you really wanted to, because with defensive
- 1:22:38line, OK, you can address it in the second and
- 1:22:42third round if you want to. I feel like Darius
- 1:22:45Alexander will still be there. Jordan Phillips.
- 1:22:47You'll still have some really good options in
- 1:22:50day two and day three for defensive linemen.
- 1:22:52But I feel like edge that may be. a more higher
- 1:22:56priority than defensive linemen. Now, I could
- 1:22:58be wrong. We can debate about it as much as you
- 1:23:01want, okay? But here is the problem right now
- 1:23:04with the Colts. Right now, they have to figure
- 1:23:07out exactly what are they going to do moving
- 1:23:09forward with quarterback. Because I feel like
- 1:23:12at this point, Anthony Richardson has fallen
- 1:23:15out of the good graces of the organization. And
- 1:23:19the reason why I say that is because the straw
- 1:23:23that broke the camel's back, was when he tapped
- 1:23:26out during i think the texans game and then he
- 1:23:29tried to say he was like tired or something that
- 1:23:33one situation created such a ripple effect that
- 1:23:38i think it rubbed a lot of people within the
- 1:23:41organization the wrong way i feel like a lot
- 1:23:44of players felt some type of way about it i feel
- 1:23:47like some of the coaches some type of way about
- 1:23:50it. And I feel like Shane Stuyton at this point
- 1:23:52is basically throwing his hands up and saying,
- 1:23:54I've done everything I could. He doesn't develop.
- 1:23:59There's nothing else I can do. But at the same
- 1:24:01time, if you're the Colts, you have to understand
- 1:24:03that you reached for Anthony Richardson. We all
- 1:24:06knew that Anthony Richardson was a project. We
- 1:24:09all know that he's very raw. He literally had,
- 1:24:13if I'm not mistaken, less than a year of playing
- 1:24:16experience. That's not enough for a quarterback.
- 1:24:20You're going to need at least two to maybe four
- 1:24:23years of experience, maybe even five if you want
- 1:24:26to go all the way, if you really want to. But
- 1:24:30the fact of the matter is, Anthony Richardson
- 1:24:33at this point is at a crossroads. And I think
- 1:24:36right now, depending on what happens at camp,
- 1:24:41will depend what's going to happen next year.
- 1:24:43I feel like personally, they are either going
- 1:24:47to get rid of Anthony Richardson and then pay
- 1:24:49Daniel Jones and make him the franchise quarterback,
- 1:24:52or they're going to draft one next year. Because
- 1:24:55right now, Anthony Richardson just... hasn't
- 1:24:58lived up to the hype nor the expectations that
- 1:25:00the Colts probably had for him. And I feel like
- 1:25:03bringing in someone like Daniel Jones, who is
- 1:25:05quote unquote competition, but in actuality will
- 1:25:08probably beat Anthony Richardson. I think, I
- 1:25:13don't know. I just feel like this is a very weird
- 1:25:18situation because on one hand, you want to point
- 1:25:21the finger at Anthony Richardson, but you also
- 1:25:23have to point the finger at the organization
- 1:25:25because They made the move to get Anthony Richardson.
- 1:25:30So, I don't know. The Colts have been weird the
- 1:25:37last few years. Ever since Andrew Luck, they've
- 1:25:39had a little bit of a carousel when it comes
- 1:25:41to quarterback. You've had Carson Wentz. You've
- 1:25:44had Phillip Rivers. You've had Matt Ryan. They
- 1:25:47had Joe Flacco as well. And they also are probably
- 1:25:50going to have Daniel Jones as well. So, the carousel
- 1:25:53just keeps on going, folks. But when we look
- 1:25:55at candidates for restructure extension trades
- 1:25:57and cuts, okay, quiddy pay extension question
- 1:26:01mark. And the reason why I say that is because
- 1:26:04do you want to get over with now or do you want
- 1:26:08to wait and see what happens when it comes to
- 1:26:11the season? Because the risk is you may have
- 1:26:14to pay two or three times more if he has a crazy
- 1:26:17season. Now, when we look at his market value,
- 1:26:20okay, it's four years. 59 .3 million, which is
- 1:26:2314 .8 million a year. That's not bad at all.
- 1:26:27Considering all the other pass rushers this offseason
- 1:26:30alone that have made a whole bunch of money,
- 1:26:32I think that's actually pretty good, all right?
- 1:26:33Same thing with Braden Smith. Do you want to
- 1:26:36give him an extension? Me personally, I feel
- 1:26:40like if you want to, go for it. But if not, then
- 1:26:44you need to find his replacement either in this
- 1:26:46draft or next year's draft. Samson Abukam. Maybe,
- 1:26:54maybe not. I don't know. I'm a little bit on
- 1:26:57the fence for him. Alec Pierce, I would say give
- 1:27:00him an extension. His market value is only two
- 1:27:02years, 9 .1 million, which is only 4 .6 million
- 1:27:05a year. That's not bad. Jelani Woods, that's
- 1:27:08up for debate. Khalil Herbert, there's no need
- 1:27:11to do that anymore because he signed somewhere
- 1:27:14else. Corey Ballantyne, no need for him to do
- 1:27:16that as well. Bernard Raymond. extension, possibly.
- 1:27:22His market value is only three years, 61 .9 million,
- 1:27:27which is 20 .6 million a year. I think at this
- 1:27:31point, do you want to prioritize keeping the
- 1:27:33offensive line? You may have to because you may
- 1:27:36have to draft a rookie quarterback next year.
- 1:27:39But all in all, the Colts, I feel like underachieve
- 1:27:44every single season because here you have this
- 1:27:48really good roster. And they just failed to meet
- 1:27:51expectations. They should be able to compete
- 1:27:54with the Texans right now to win the division.
- 1:27:57And so far, they really haven't. And they failed
- 1:27:59to meet expectations. Now, is some of that on
- 1:28:01the quarterback? Yes. Is some of that on the
- 1:28:03coaching? Yes. Is some of that on decisions that
- 1:28:06were out of their control? Probably. But the
- 1:28:09fact of the matter is, this Colts team could
- 1:28:11be a playoff caliber team if they start to figure
- 1:28:15out exactly what they want to do moving forward,
- 1:28:18okay? Now on to the Jaguars, okay? So your salary,
- 1:28:22$28 .8 million with a rollover cap of $15 .8
- 1:28:25million, which is actually pretty good. Your
- 1:28:27free agents, Brandon Scherf, Caleb Johnson, Dearness
- 1:28:30Johnson, CJ Beathard, Josiah DeGora, Josh Giles
- 1:28:36Harris, Deshaun Dixon. Devin Duvernay, Blake
- 1:28:41Hance, Josh Reynolds, Jeremiah Ledbetter, Ronald
- 1:28:44Darby, Andre Sisco, Matt Jones, just to name
- 1:28:47a few, okay? So your draft picks. You got your
- 1:28:50first, your second. You have two third -round
- 1:28:52picks. You have two fourth -round picks. You
- 1:28:55have a fifth. You have two sixth -round picks
- 1:28:58and one seventh -round pick, okay? Positions
- 1:29:01of need. Interior offensive line, tight end,
- 1:29:04wide receiver, DB, running back, and then defensive
- 1:29:07line. So here's the thing. So the Jags have had
- 1:29:10a lot of turnover lately in this offseason. You
- 1:29:13got a new head coach, a GM. You've let go of
- 1:29:17a few offensive weapons. You let go of Evan Ingram
- 1:29:20as well as Christian Kirk. So the question is,
- 1:29:23what is the direction of the team? Because right
- 1:29:27now, you are probably going to have to add some
- 1:29:30more offensive weapons for Trevor Lawrence. And
- 1:29:33so right now, all the positions of need that
- 1:29:37you have, could be addressed in the first round
- 1:29:40or could be addressed day two and day three.
- 1:29:43Now, the positions that I feel like that need
- 1:29:45to be addressed in the first round could be defensive
- 1:29:49line, DB, and maybe tight end. Well, you know
- 1:29:54what? Maybe even interior offensive line. And
- 1:29:58I know this may be a hot take, but I just have
- 1:30:00to drop this truth bomb for you. I do feel like
- 1:30:03Gray Zabel could be a really good pick. I feel
- 1:30:07like he is worth, you know, the top five pick.
- 1:30:11And the only reason why I say that is because,
- 1:30:13for one, he has positional flexibility. And two,
- 1:30:17he has the upside to be a potential all -pro
- 1:30:23offensive lineman. You're talking about somebody
- 1:30:26that, to me, I feel like he's a better, more
- 1:30:31refined version of a Troy Fatami. that's my comp
- 1:30:35for for grace able no i i could i could definitely
- 1:30:38be wrong but at this point i feel like the jaguars
- 1:30:42need to prioritize one protecting trevor lawrence
- 1:30:45while at the same time trying to maximize what
- 1:30:49you have with trevor lawrence because granted
- 1:30:51you gave him a boatload of money and he really
- 1:30:53hasn't lived up lived up to that deal so you
- 1:30:57need to figure out exactly what can what can
- 1:31:00the the jaguars do To be more competitive. Because
- 1:31:04at this point. They have a lot of pieces. To
- 1:31:07be a problem within their division. But the problem
- 1:31:11is. Those pieces either don't come together.
- 1:31:14Or they're just shipped away somewhere. So the
- 1:31:16Jaguars have to figure out. What direction this
- 1:31:18team wants to go. At this point. Because if you
- 1:31:23don't figure this thing out. It's going to be
- 1:31:25a waste. For Trevor Lawrence. It's going to be
- 1:31:27a waste for Trevon Walker. Josh Allen Hines.
- 1:31:30And a few other players. you know that you have
- 1:31:33in your team now when we look at candidates for
- 1:31:35restructure extension trades and cuts i feel
- 1:31:38like this is probably the shortest list that
- 1:31:39i've ever done for a team but here goes trevon
- 1:31:43walker extension you need to do this now because
- 1:31:48if you don't do this now you run the risk of
- 1:31:50having to pay him probably the the equivalence
- 1:31:53of a tj watt a max crosby or miles gary right
- 1:31:57now trevon walker is starting to show something
- 1:31:59right now trevon walker has had, if I'm not mistaken,
- 1:32:04two back -to -back double -digit sack seasons.
- 1:32:07If he has a third one, oh, that's over. That
- 1:32:11conversation is over. That conversation will
- 1:32:14start with dollars and cents. So it's better
- 1:32:17you be a little bit proactive. Bring them to
- 1:32:20the table now, because if you don't, you're going
- 1:32:22to regret it. The Bengals, they regret it. The
- 1:32:27Vikings, they regret it. You don't want to regret
- 1:32:30it. Devin Lloyd, question mark of an extension
- 1:32:33because when we look at his market value, it's
- 1:32:35only three years, $27 .3 million, which is only
- 1:32:38$9 .1 million a year. That's not bad. That's
- 1:32:41chump change for y 'all. Travis Etienne is a
- 1:32:44question mark because what direction do you see
- 1:32:49him going? Do you see him staying with the team
- 1:32:52or do you possibly see him as a trade candidate?
- 1:32:56Because me personally, I feel like with the running
- 1:32:58back class being as good as it is, do you want
- 1:33:01to bring somebody to pair along with him? Or
- 1:33:04do you want him to just to be the number one
- 1:33:07running back at this point? What do you want
- 1:33:09to do with Travis Etienne? Because right now
- 1:33:13his market value is four years, 32 million, which
- 1:33:16is 8 .2 million a year. You have a lot of tough
- 1:33:21decisions that you're going to have to make.
- 1:33:23this offseason, going into this season, as well
- 1:33:27as next season. So all in all, the Jaguars are
- 1:33:31at a crossroads. The Jaguars need to figure out
- 1:33:34exactly who they are while at the same time figure
- 1:33:38out... What can they do to clean themselves up
- 1:33:41to be more competitive, not only in their division,
- 1:33:45but as well as in the league and actually be
- 1:33:48taken seriously? Because I feel like a lot of
- 1:33:50times the Jaguars have been the laughingstock
- 1:33:52of the league because for the last, what, five
- 1:33:55to ten years, they're always one of the few teams
- 1:33:58that are always top five when it comes to the
- 1:34:00draft board. So hopefully that changes this season
- 1:34:05with the new head coach and whatnot. On to the
- 1:34:08Texans. Okay, so their salary, $5 .5 million
- 1:34:12with a rollover cap of $4 .8 million. Free agents,
- 1:34:16Shaq Mason, Robert Woods, Foley, Fotsky, if I'm
- 1:34:21not mistaken, Case Keenum, Jerry Hughes, Neville
- 1:34:24Hewitt, Irv Smith, Kadar Hallman, Miles Bryant,
- 1:34:28and Dalton Keene. So their draft picks, they
- 1:34:31got their first. They're second. They have two
- 1:34:33third -round picks. They don't have a fourth.
- 1:34:35They have a fifth. They don't have a sixth. And
- 1:34:37they have a seventh -round pick. Positions of
- 1:34:39need. Offensive line, wide receiver, D -tackle.
- 1:34:43So here's the thing. So you trade away Laramie
- 1:34:46Tunsell, and you brought in Cam Robinson. Like
- 1:34:50I said before, when we did the grades and whatnot
- 1:34:53for every single team, that was a downgrade.
- 1:34:56I feel like, at best, you probably should have
- 1:34:58just drafted one. Now, granted... you're not
- 1:35:02high enough to get one of those you know one
- 1:35:05of those blue chips when it comes to you know
- 1:35:09will campbell or calvin banks or any of those
- 1:35:11different types of guys but at the same time
- 1:35:13you still could draft one and you need to draft
- 1:35:18one because right now the number one problem
- 1:35:21with the texans was what the offensive line the
- 1:35:24offensive line was getting smothered Every single
- 1:35:27game and C .J. Stroud was fighting for his life.
- 1:35:30So at this point, you need to make it a priority
- 1:35:33to address the offensive line. I would not be
- 1:35:36surprised if they double dip at offensive line
- 1:35:38this draft class because right now. You did bring
- 1:35:43in Laken Thomason, which was pretty good. You
- 1:35:46still have Titus Howard, which is pretty good
- 1:35:49as well. But you still need to bolster up this
- 1:35:52offensive line even more. You still have to make
- 1:35:54it better. That is the only way that this team
- 1:35:58can go back to being what it was at least two
- 1:36:01years ago. Because right now, C .J. Stroud...
- 1:36:05Is that a point now where he could probably be
- 1:36:07the reason that they go to the AFC championship,
- 1:36:09that they go to the Super Bowl? But if you don't
- 1:36:14give him offensive line, that's not going to
- 1:36:16happen. Now, wide receiver. This one is a little
- 1:36:21bit hard for me to talk about only because of
- 1:36:24Tank Dell and his injury. He suffered a really
- 1:36:29bad leg injury and. On one hand, we all know
- 1:36:35he won't be available this season, but at the
- 1:36:38same time, this is like the second injury that
- 1:36:41he's had. And so you have to be a little bit
- 1:36:45concerned about it. And not to mention, we don't
- 1:36:49know how he's going to be after this injury because
- 1:36:52he basically tore every single ligament in his
- 1:36:56leg. Well, knee. He tore. his ACL, I think his
- 1:37:01MCL, I think he tore his meniscus as well. So
- 1:37:05on one hand, yes, you do need to address receiver,
- 1:37:09but do you need to address it high? No, because
- 1:37:11you have Christian Kirk and you still have everybody
- 1:37:14else as well. So I feel like you could get someone
- 1:37:17like a Jack Besch or Jaden Higgins or any of
- 1:37:21those day two or day three receivers. And I think
- 1:37:23that that still will be good. I feel like Jaden
- 1:37:26Higgins specifically. He has the upside to be
- 1:37:29a number one wide receiver, personally. But all
- 1:37:34in all, I think it's just a wait and see when
- 1:37:36it comes to the wide receiver position. Defensive
- 1:37:39line, as I've said before in all the other Divisional
- 1:37:42Rodeo episodes, you can address that day two
- 1:37:45if you really want to, right? You could bring
- 1:37:48in... Alfred Collins or Jordan Phillips or Darius
- 1:37:52Alexander or Aeneas Pebbles or JJ Pegasus or
- 1:37:56Yaya Black or any of those different types of
- 1:37:59defensive linemen, you can do that because the
- 1:38:02more dangerous you make this defensive line,
- 1:38:05the less that you have to worry about when it
- 1:38:08comes to everybody else's role on the team. Because
- 1:38:12right now, you have a two -headed monster in
- 1:38:14Will Anderson and Daniil Hunter. If you continue
- 1:38:17to build off of that, you could potentially have
- 1:38:20one of the most dangerous defensive lines in
- 1:38:23the entire league. Just saying. Now, this is
- 1:38:28going to be a little bit of a shocker, but I
- 1:38:29don't have anything for candidates for restructure,
- 1:38:32extension, trays, or cuts. Now, originally, I
- 1:38:34was going to put Derek Stingley, but that was
- 1:38:36before he got his deal. But right now, the Texans
- 1:38:41are in a situation where, yes, they are still
- 1:38:44competitive, but time is ticking. And the reason
- 1:38:49why I say that is because we all know once it's
- 1:38:52time to pay a quarterback, things get a little
- 1:38:54bit limited. And we all know that they also have
- 1:38:58Will Anderson that they're going to have to pay
- 1:38:59as well. And you won't be able to pay him like
- 1:39:02a pass rusher, too. You may have to pay him like
- 1:39:04a pass rusher one. All right. Not to mention
- 1:39:08the team is still fairly young. They still have
- 1:39:12to go through their bumps and their bruises.
- 1:39:14But all in all, they are still a really good
- 1:39:16team. Had the refs not cheated them, because
- 1:39:20they did, I don't care what anyone says, I don't
- 1:39:22care what any of you Chiefs fans say, had the
- 1:39:25refs not cheated the Texans last year in the
- 1:39:28playoffs, I feel like we probably would have
- 1:39:31saw something special. But I think the number
- 1:39:34one takeaway for this offseason for the Texans
- 1:39:36is you have to prioritize taking care of C .J.
- 1:39:40Stroud, and that starts with the offensive line.
- 1:39:43If you do not do anything else, if all of your
- 1:39:45draft picks are offensive linemen, I would not
- 1:39:47care because right now you have to protect C
- 1:39:51.J. Stroud. C .J. Stroud took too much of a beating
- 1:39:54last season and you don't want to continue to
- 1:39:57be a recurring problem with him. Now on to the
- 1:40:01final team, the Titans. Your salary, $36 million
- 1:40:06with a rollover cap of $14 .7 million. Your free
- 1:40:09agents, Harold Landry, Mason Rudolph, Nick Westbrook,
- 1:40:12Luke Gifford, Ryan Stonehouse, Jerome Baker,
- 1:40:15Jack Gibbons, Jadobe Woozie, Aquandre Diggs,
- 1:40:17Tyler Boyd, Nick Vanette, Daniel Brunskill, Nick
- 1:40:21Folk, Daryl Worley, Justin Hardy, and James Lynch,
- 1:40:24just to name a few. So your draft picks, we all
- 1:40:28know, we know, we know, we know, all right? So
- 1:40:33they got their first or second. They don't have
- 1:40:35a third. They have two fourth round picks. They
- 1:40:38have two fifth round picks and they have a sixth
- 1:40:41and a seventh round pick. All right. So positions
- 1:40:43of need, quarterback, wide receiver, edge, safety,
- 1:40:46kicker. OK, and this was this was prior to, you
- 1:40:50know, free agency and whatnot. So here's the
- 1:40:53thing. We all know that most likely they're going
- 1:40:56to choose Cam Ward at number one. Perfectly fine.
- 1:41:00But it's what you do after that that matters
- 1:41:03the most because right now you really need to
- 1:41:06build up this offense more. Sure, you have Tony
- 1:41:08Pollard. Sure, you have Calvin Ridley. But you
- 1:41:11still need more at this point. And I feel like
- 1:41:14they need to probably get at least maybe one
- 1:41:17to two receivers in this draft as well as another
- 1:41:19tight end. Because right now, Cam Ward is going
- 1:41:23to need all the help that he can get at this
- 1:41:26point. Sure, the offensive line, to me, I feel
- 1:41:29like it's really good. You have Lloyd Cushenberry,
- 1:41:31you have Kevin Zeidler, you have JC Latham, you
- 1:41:33have Peter Skowronski, and then you have Dan
- 1:41:35Moore as well. All really good signings. But
- 1:41:38now I'm for you to add more, all right? You need
- 1:41:42more receivers. You need just more weapons as
- 1:41:45a whole. Maybe even more running backs as well.
- 1:41:48Now when we look at edge. I feel like you could
- 1:41:52address that in the later parts of the draft.
- 1:41:54I still feel like there are some hidden gems
- 1:41:56at edge. There's an edge rusher actually from
- 1:41:59SMU that I haven't had a chance to look at that
- 1:42:03apparently he's actually pretty good. Within
- 1:42:05the last two seasons, I think he had like 18
- 1:42:07and a half sacks together. Pretty good. So I'm
- 1:42:09probably going to check him out there. I'll let
- 1:42:11you guys know about him. But safety. This one
- 1:42:14is a little bit tricky, okay? Because me personally,
- 1:42:16you know, I love Malachi Starks, you know, E
- 1:42:20-Man, Xavier Watts. Who else? Who else? Who else?
- 1:42:24Who else? Who else? Malachi Moore from Alabama.
- 1:42:27Like, you have options at safety. This safety
- 1:42:29class, believe it or not, is a sleeper. That's
- 1:42:31not getting a whole lot of attention that it
- 1:42:33probably should. I feel like, and this is my
- 1:42:36personal opinion, if they drafted a safety high,
- 1:42:40to replace potentially Armani Hooker, if they
- 1:42:45don't pay him, I still feel like that's a pretty
- 1:42:47good move. Just saying. We can debate about it,
- 1:42:50but just saying. Now, Kicker, you can address
- 1:42:55that sixth or seventh round. You can just sign
- 1:42:58somebody, honestly. But when we look at candidates
- 1:43:00for restructure, extensions, trades, and cuts...
- 1:43:04uh armani hooker extension question mark okay
- 1:43:07his market value is three years 1 .2 million
- 1:43:10which is 17 .1 million a year do you really want
- 1:43:14to pay that with this safety class probably not
- 1:43:18i may be a little bit more skeptical i'll give
- 1:43:20him an offer but i'm not going to like you know
- 1:43:23fight for him or anything no not when you have
- 1:43:27Nick Emanwari, Malachi Starks, Malachi Moore,
- 1:43:31Xavier Watts, Sebastian Castro, all these other
- 1:43:35safeties that you have. There's no need for you
- 1:43:37to want to go out your way to pay for a money
- 1:43:40hooker, but that's your decision. Arden Key,
- 1:43:43possible extension. His market value, three years,
- 1:43:47$40 .6 million, which is $13 .5 million a year.
- 1:43:50All in all, I feel like this is a very young
- 1:43:54team that's still trying to find its way. It's
- 1:43:57gone through a lot of changes. So, of course,
- 1:43:59it's going to go through its bumps and its bruises.
- 1:44:01But I think stabilizing the quarterback position
- 1:44:03would definitely help substantially. And I feel
- 1:44:07like once you do that, everything else would
- 1:44:09just fall into place. Now, do I feel like they
- 1:44:13could probably make some more significant moves
- 1:44:15to probably bolster things up a little bit more?
- 1:44:17For sure. But I think getting Dan Moore was pretty
- 1:44:22good. I understand there's a lot of people that
- 1:44:26probably feel some type of way about it, but
- 1:44:27for him to be able to hold his own against people
- 1:44:30like Trey Hendrickson and Miles Garrett and company
- 1:44:33definitely says a lot. So all in all, the Titans,
- 1:44:37you're going to go through your bumps and your
- 1:44:38bruises, like I just said, but you're going to
- 1:44:40be fine as long as you do the right thing. Now,
- 1:44:45this is a theory. Well, not really a theory,
- 1:44:47but this is an idea that I have. Walk with me,
- 1:44:49all right? We're going to take this walk. Just
- 1:44:52act like we're walking, all right? So what if
- 1:44:55you trade the first pick with the idea that you
- 1:44:59possibly get Archie Manning next year? Boom.
- 1:45:02I'll let you think about that in the next episode.
- 1:45:04But I'm going to end this episode here. If you
