- 1:33Speaker 2: When it comes to you mind and your own business.
- 1:36Speaker 2: And I didn't realize that this.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Was going to become a financial healing and recovery podcast
- 1:45Speaker 1: until I lost my job. I wasn't expecting that, but
- 1:49Speaker 1: here we are, and I'm really surprised that it turned
- 1:55Speaker 1: out that way because originally, when I did this podcast,
- 1:59Speaker 1: it was about you mind and your business as a whole,
- 2:03Speaker 1: not just financially but also mentally, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually. But
- 2:11Speaker 1: when I lost my job and then losing my father
- 2:14Speaker 1: and then trying to figure out what the next chapter
- 2:17Speaker 1: of my life has been, it turned into financial recovery.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And then I started getting guests on my podcasts that
- 2:26Speaker 1: were very successful, people that had journeys of ups and
- 2:31Speaker 1: downs financially that I ended up bringing on my podcast.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And so that's what it turned into. And I wasn't
- 2:39Speaker 1: expecting that, but I'm very thankful to every guest that's
- 2:44Speaker 1: did pre conversations with me. I will be reaching out
- 2:50Speaker 1: to everybody about scheduling a time that works that's convenient
- 2:54Speaker 1: for them, and for those of y'all who are not
- 2:56Speaker 1: available at this time, the door is always open. I
- 3:00Speaker 1: am somebody that I'm always welcome to bring back guests,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and I'm also welcome to when they're available, they can
- 3:10Speaker 1: always come. And what's funny about my pre conversations, they
- 3:15Speaker 1: always turn it into actual podcast episodes. But I still
- 3:21Speaker 1: want to do a part two with them because of
- 3:23Speaker 1: the fact I want to go more in depth in
- 3:26Speaker 1: what we talked about. So you should be receiving emails
- 3:30Speaker 1: on Monday, and I need to explain to everybody what
- 3:33Speaker 1: has been going on and why I have not been
- 3:36Speaker 1: able to reach back to people that have been guested
- 3:38Speaker 1: on my podcast that I haven't done the second parts with.
- 3:41Speaker 1: For those of y'all who don't know, I lost my
- 3:43Speaker 1: father in February, but I've also been going through some
- 3:47Speaker 1: health issues and as you can hear in my throat,
- 3:51Speaker 1: there's an issue with something either being stuck in my ear,
- 3:55Speaker 1: stuck in my nose, or stuck at my throat, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: I got to go to an ear's, nose and throat
- 3:59Speaker 1: doctor put un Fortunately, I do not have insurance because
- 4:01Speaker 1: I lost my job February, I mean January ninth of
- 4:05Speaker 1: this year, and I have been able to find a
- 4:07Speaker 1: job since then. And it's really hard to apply for
- 4:11Speaker 1: medicaid when they're saying there's certain stipulations you have to
- 4:15Speaker 1: have in order to get Medicaid. But also I just
- 4:24Speaker 1: needed to more. I need people to understand that losing
- 4:26Speaker 1: a parent is like the hardest thing in the world.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And we're still dealing with some things financially for my father,
- 4:33Speaker 1: so it's really been a lot. And then I'm transitioning
- 4:38Speaker 1: now into building businesses and brands as well. So really
- 4:42Speaker 1: I just needed a break from everything, all of it.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And I'm hoping that each guest understands that that's why
- 4:51Speaker 1: I haven't reached out to anybody. I just.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I just couldn't do it. Honestly.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It was like I was in this slump and I
- 5:03Speaker 1: stopped everything. My jewelry business, my podcast, my my coaching business.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I stopped everything everything. And that's what I wanna talk
- 5:18Speaker 1: about today. When something happens that stops everything and puts
- 5:26Speaker 1: everything on pause, not forever, but just it makes you
- 5:32Speaker 1: have to just reflect and rev and reevaluate, so that's
- 5:39Speaker 1: what I had to do. So my father passed away
- 5:44Speaker 1: February twelfth. I lost my.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Job January ninth.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I knew in December that I was losing my job
- 5:54Speaker 1: and I was trying to find another job. And this
- 5:57Speaker 1: was around the time that a lot of people saying
- 6:00Speaker 1: that since they had lost their jobs, they hadn't been
- 6:04Speaker 1: able to find any other job, and that AI was
- 6:08Speaker 1: the ones that were going through the applications and deciding
- 6:11Speaker 1: who they were going to contact. I had a lot
- 6:14Speaker 1: of people contacting me from other countries wanted me to
- 6:19Speaker 1: work as far as contracting now from twenty sixteen all
- 6:28Speaker 1: the way up to present, and I had maybe one
- 6:31Speaker 1: or two jobs that were permanent. But when I was
- 6:37Speaker 1: working in billing, Don't get me wrong, I love billing,
- 6:41Speaker 1: I love building. I love everything about billing I do.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I love doing posting payments. I loved being in credentialing,
- 6:49Speaker 1: being able to credential you know, providers. I loved being
- 6:53Speaker 1: able to fix claims and you know, making sure everything
- 6:58Speaker 1: was correct because I'm one of those people, an admin person.
- 7:01Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell y'a'm a story of how I
- 7:04Speaker 1: got there and how my journey with my jobs led
- 7:09Speaker 1: me to building my own business and brand. I was sixteen.
- 7:13Speaker 1: My first job was McDonald's and I hated it. I
- 7:17Speaker 1: worked fast food for a number of years and then
- 7:19Speaker 1: I hated it, and so I ended up working Impure
- 7:23Speaker 1: later and working through Megaphorest. So my first staffing company
- 7:28Speaker 1: was Megaphorest. When I was working in warehouses, hated that
- 7:31Speaker 1: as well. And then I decided to go back to school.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And I got pregnant when I was twenty one and
- 7:42Speaker 1: had my son at twenty two. Found out he was autistic.
- 7:45Speaker 1: That changed everything. And then two years later I was
- 7:51Speaker 1: on my way somewhere stopped and there was no thing
- 7:55Speaker 1: where you could turn to turn. Somebody hit me a
- 7:59Speaker 1: car extremely hard. I was in rested to the hospital
- 8:03Speaker 1: on the way home. Instead of my son's father driving
- 8:06Speaker 1: the car, I had to drive the car to get
- 8:10Speaker 1: back home with a neck brace and got hit again
- 8:14Speaker 1: not even eight hours right after I left the hospital,
- 8:17Speaker 1: all my way to take my son to school. So
- 8:21Speaker 1: imagine getting into one horrible accent and then getting into
- 8:29Speaker 1: another one not even eight hours later. My life wasn't
- 8:36Speaker 1: the same since after that I was in physical therapy
- 8:41Speaker 1: for almost about two years and then I started. Then
- 8:46Speaker 1: I found out I started working on Fort Brag and
- 8:51Speaker 1: I worked at a Mexican restaurant as a shift manager,
- 8:56Speaker 1: and then I was also working another the pizza restaurant,
- 9:02Speaker 1: where I slipped and fell and I hurt my back,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and that's when they told me I couldn't work manual
- 9:10Speaker 1: labor jobs anymore. I was done after that. Then I
- 9:15Speaker 1: started doing daycare, and one daycare, it was snowing and
- 9:20Speaker 1: they wanted me to come in and I said I
- 9:22Speaker 1: was not coming in because it was snowing, and I
- 9:26Speaker 1: slipped and fell off the porch. And I've done that
- 9:29Speaker 1: like three times and messed up my back even worse
- 9:31Speaker 1: than what it already was. And that's when my life
- 9:37Speaker 1: changed forever. So I decided. So for years I wasn't
- 9:42Speaker 1: able to work at all, but luckily my son had
- 9:47Speaker 1: an income and luckily I was on Section eight, so
- 9:50Speaker 1: I was actually gonna okay for a while. But then
- 9:56Speaker 1: it was to a point where they put me in
- 10:00Speaker 1: a bowling alley, and this is where everything changed. I
- 10:04Speaker 1: was working for a bowling alley and I was having
- 10:07Speaker 1: chronic pain, really really bad. And I remember when I
- 10:12Speaker 1: had right before I got ready to leave that job.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I had went.
- 10:20Speaker 2: And bent over to pick up some bowling balls my back.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I don't know what happened, but I felt something change
- 10:26Speaker 1: in my back, and so I told my ex to
- 10:29Speaker 1: take me to the to the emergent to the urgent
- 10:31Speaker 1: care so they could check my back because I didn't
- 10:34Speaker 1: want to go to the emergency room. So we went
- 10:36Speaker 1: into the urgent care and they told me that I
- 10:40Speaker 1: would have to go to the hospital to get or
- 10:43Speaker 1: my doctor to go get some tests done for my back.
- 10:46Speaker 1: They really didn't do anything. When I was standing there
- 10:49Speaker 1: getting ready to pay, I couldn't feel my legs. I
- 10:53Speaker 1: couldn't move and if I had let go, I would
- 10:56Speaker 1: have failed. It. Took me to the hospital. The hospital
- 11:00Speaker 1: had me there for almost about two weeks. I was
- 11:04Speaker 1: at the hospital. They couldn't find what was wrong. And
- 11:08Speaker 1: that's when a blood doctor came and told me, for
- 11:11Speaker 1: some reason I had their blood was not flowing through
- 11:14Speaker 1: my legs like they were supposed to be. It still
- 11:18Speaker 1: happens like this morning that happened. I woke up and
- 11:21Speaker 1: my legs felt numb, and what I do is I
- 11:28Speaker 1: put something on it to basically get circulation. Sometimes I'll
- 11:33Speaker 1: have Charlie horses and it hurts really bad, but it's
- 11:37Speaker 1: better than what it was. But I know, I got
- 11:39Speaker 1: an exercise, but that's I won't talk about that on
- 11:43Speaker 1: my Happier Ye leads to a Healthier Youth podcast about
- 11:47Speaker 1: my health. But after that happened, I realized that I
- 11:55Speaker 1: could not work manual labor or any jobs like that.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So I tried to apply for Social Security. Told me
- 12:03Speaker 1: I couldn't get Social Security. I was still able to
- 12:06Speaker 1: work administrative jobs. So I decided to apply for some jobs,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and no. I started doing daycare. Started doing daycare. And
- 12:16Speaker 1: that was okay at first until they told us we
- 12:21Speaker 1: couldn't teach kids, until these parents started being trifling. Till
- 12:26Speaker 1: these parents started to think that they had a right
- 12:29Speaker 1: to talk to me any kind of way. You know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: we couldn't tell them how their children were doing certain things.
- 12:35Speaker 1: And then when they told us that the no child
- 12:38Speaker 1: left behind thing, where whatever their interpretation is of what
- 12:42Speaker 1: it is is what it is. It's like saying, Okay,
- 12:47Speaker 1: we had doodles and we had things, and we taught
- 12:49Speaker 1: them how to write, we taught them certain things. Nope,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they learned through play. That was the curriculum. When that happened,
- 12:55Speaker 1: I stopped doing daycare and then I decided to go
- 12:59Speaker 1: to school to do medical billing, and so I went
- 13:03Speaker 1: through Millermont. I got st my degree in medical billing
- 13:09Speaker 1: and Coding, but I did not take the test because
- 13:13Speaker 1: I didn't think I was ready for it and I
- 13:16Speaker 1: did not have the books at the time, so I
- 13:20Speaker 1: did it without the books because something happened with my books,
- 13:23Speaker 1: but I didn't take it, so I didn't get the certification,
- 13:28Speaker 1: but I still was able to bill. So I got
- 13:30Speaker 1: my first job in twenty twenty fifteen. So I was
- 13:34Speaker 1: working in customer service for AT and T and through
- 13:39Speaker 1: a staff and company. My first staffing company that I
- 13:41Speaker 1: worked through was through AT and T. I did really
- 13:44Speaker 1: well at AT and T, but I wasn't getting paid enough,
- 13:51Speaker 1: and I wanted something that was gonna pay me more
- 13:53Speaker 1: to be able to pay my bills and take care
- 13:54Speaker 1: of my baby. And plus I wanted to work where
- 13:57Speaker 1: I could get off and be able to be with
- 14:00Speaker 1: my child by the time he got out of school
- 14:03Speaker 1: at least by five o'clock, because he was getting out
- 14:06Speaker 1: of school at three, so my dad would go and
- 14:09Speaker 1: pick him up and he would take him. He would
- 14:12Speaker 1: be at the house to talk at home. So that's
- 14:16Speaker 1: when I started doing medical building. In twenty fifteen, got
- 14:20Speaker 1: my first job. Everything was cool at first, and then
- 14:23Speaker 1: that's when the bullying started. I was bullied and it
- 14:28Speaker 1: was like, one day I couldn't get my hair done. Now,
- 14:33Speaker 1: mind y'all, I have hair loss, mind you. I lost
- 14:36Speaker 1: my hair when I was thirteen because it was pulled out.
- 14:39Speaker 1: A girl pulled my hair out instead of using weave
- 14:42Speaker 1: glue movie, she literally pulled my hair out and my
- 14:44Speaker 1: hair was literally pulled out, so I had a ball
- 14:47Speaker 1: spot on top in the back of my head. I
- 14:49Speaker 1: was supposed to get my hair braided done that day
- 14:52Speaker 1: and the girl couldn't do it, so I wasn't able
- 14:56Speaker 1: to get my hair done. So I had put a
- 14:58Speaker 1: scarf on my head to you know, So I let
- 15:02Speaker 1: her know that what the situation was and that I'd
- 15:05Speaker 1: be wearing a scarf because I couldn't afford to get
- 15:08Speaker 1: a wig or anything, so I had to wear a scarf.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Nobody knew my circumstance. Nobody knew anything. So they pulled
- 15:16Speaker 1: me into an office and said, you know, you don't
- 15:19Speaker 1: dress like you know a certain way. I would wear
- 15:23Speaker 1: a business casual, but I would wear like long sleeve shirts.
- 15:27Speaker 1: They were professional. But I don't wear tight clothes because
- 15:32Speaker 1: of the pain, you know, circulation wise, because of what
- 15:36Speaker 1: happened in twenty twelve. So I could not wear certain clothes.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But instead of them trying to understand that, they pulled
- 15:46Speaker 1: me in an office and talked about me and made
- 15:49Speaker 1: me cry. And so my manager heard what was going
- 15:52Speaker 1: on and she was upset. She pulled me into the
- 15:55Speaker 1: office and said, you know what, I'm sorry about that.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And that's when I knew I had to leave right
- 16:02Speaker 1: at that point, because I knew how this was going
- 16:04Speaker 1: to turn out. So I decided to start looking for
- 16:07Speaker 1: another job. Plus, it wasn't it was like ten dollars
- 16:11Speaker 1: an hour, which wasn't that much more than what I
- 16:14Speaker 1: was making at the staff and Company for AC and C.
- 16:20Speaker 1: So I got another job that paid a dollar more,
- 16:22Speaker 1: which was eleven dollars twelve dollars no eleven on twelve
- 16:25Speaker 1: thousan an hour. I went there and then I left
- 16:28Speaker 1: that job, and then it was it was it was
- 16:32Speaker 1: the best thing I could have done. Then I worked
- 16:34Speaker 1: the other job, and at first it was cool, but
- 16:36Speaker 1: as always you got people that you know, when you're
- 16:39Speaker 1: in an office and everybody can see you. It's like
- 16:45Speaker 1: certain things we weren't allowed to do, Like we couldn't
- 16:47Speaker 1: talk to the doctors about certain things, and like, for example,
- 16:53Speaker 1: if they were to build with unspecified codes, for example,
- 16:57Speaker 1: they weren't gonna pay them. And instead of them telling
- 17:02Speaker 1: the doctor that I worked for what was going on,
- 17:06Speaker 1: they just didn't say anything. So one day I went
- 17:09Speaker 1: back there and I had a conversation with him and
- 17:12Speaker 1: told him everything that was going on, everything, and he
- 17:17Speaker 1: was like, I didn't know all of this was going on.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I said, everybody tells us not to talk to you.
- 17:22Speaker 1: And I came back here because there was two kids.
- 17:25Speaker 1: One had a wingworm on his face and the other
- 17:29Speaker 1: one had asthma issues. And so I told them how
- 17:33Speaker 1: many patients had been turned away because of the fact
- 17:36Speaker 1: of them not having medical records. So when he found
- 17:40Speaker 1: that out, he did his research himself, him and his wife.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And this is run around the time I was getting
- 17:46Speaker 1: read to leave because I didn't appreciate the way I
- 17:49Speaker 1: was being treated, and so I would go to work
- 17:53Speaker 1: and everything and give it one hundred percent. But the
- 17:57Speaker 1: way that I was treated, I just left. And that's
- 18:01Speaker 1: the one thing about me. If I feel like I'm
- 18:03Speaker 1: being booed, I'm leaving a job, that's just it. I'm leaving.
- 18:07Speaker 1: So I was there like a year and I left,
- 18:11Speaker 1: but he thanked me for everything. He didn't want me
- 18:14Speaker 1: to leave. To be honest, he didn't and told me
- 18:17Speaker 1: if I ever decided I want to go back, I could,
- 18:20Speaker 1: but I could not go there with that certain person
- 18:23Speaker 1: that just kept messing with me that I just didn't
- 18:25Speaker 1: want to be there. So I left. So the next
- 18:29Speaker 1: job that I had after that, throughout the years has
- 18:32Speaker 1: been from doing everything that is a billing to credentialing,
- 18:38Speaker 1: to revenue cycle to accounts receivable. So it has been
- 18:46Speaker 1: the same issue. It has been some type of bullying
- 18:50Speaker 1: because one thing about me is I'm very thorough about
- 18:53Speaker 1: doing my job. And when people get caught up when
- 18:56Speaker 1: somebody knew coming out and they find things that are
- 19:01Speaker 1: and a doctor or a clinic is losing millions of
- 19:04Speaker 1: dollars and you find it, Oh, they don't like you
- 19:07Speaker 1: after that, especially when you're finding problems that they should
- 19:11Speaker 1: have found, when people that have been there longert should
- 19:15Speaker 1: have foulded a long time ago. I would find certain
- 19:18Speaker 1: problems and then that's when people started not liking me
- 19:22Speaker 1: because I found like issues with shots that could have
- 19:25Speaker 1: been done that now were past timely filing, and so
- 19:32Speaker 1: I got sick. This is what happened. In November of
- 19:34Speaker 1: twenty seventeen. I got really sick with a stomach virus.
- 19:39Speaker 1: A doctor gave me medication and I started not to
- 19:41Speaker 1: take it. I wish I didn't, and I took it,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and then the next thing I know, I felt like
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was going to die. And it's like one of
- 19:50Speaker 1: the scariest times of my life because I was really
- 19:55Speaker 1: debating on should I go to the hospital or should
- 19:58Speaker 1: I not? And I was like, Lord, I got so
- 20:02Speaker 1: much I gotta do. I don't tell you nothing for granted,
- 20:05Speaker 1: which I don't. I just want a second chance. God
- 20:08Speaker 1: gave me that. God I said, go to sleep, and
- 20:10Speaker 1: I went to sleep, and I woke up and I
- 20:12Speaker 1: felt a thousand times better. But I didn't think that
- 20:16Speaker 1: medication was gonna mess up my driving. Months later, twenty eighteen,
- 20:24Speaker 1: that's when everything changed. I went to my mother's house
- 20:27Speaker 1: that day and hit the back of my neck, and
- 20:30Speaker 1: then when I left, I don't know what happened, but
- 20:33Speaker 1: I ended up having a panic attack on the way home,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and so at first I thought it was nothing. You know,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I said, I'm gonna go ahead and make it home.
- 20:43Speaker 1: The next thing I know, it happened again, and then
- 20:45Speaker 1: I had to literally pull over. I thought I was
- 20:48Speaker 1: having a heart attack, didn't realize it was a panic attack.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I calmed myself down. I got home and I said, okay, well,
- 20:54Speaker 1: if it gets worse in the morning, I'll I'll go
- 20:57Speaker 1: ahead and go to the emergency room. But when I
- 21:00Speaker 1: got in the car, I couldn't even drive with the street.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Couldn't even drive literally up the street. That's when everything's
- 21:08Speaker 1: in my life. As I know, it was never the
- 21:10Speaker 1: same sense. But I say that to say that was
- 21:16Speaker 1: the part of my journey where I should have known
- 21:19Speaker 1: then to start building my business and my brand when
- 21:22Speaker 1: that happened. But instead I ended up doing remote jobs
- 21:27Speaker 1: and a lot of staffing companies were calling me and
- 21:31Speaker 1: I worked staffing jobs, and you know, it was cool,
- 21:36Speaker 1: I would meet production, but really, to tell you the truth,
- 21:42Speaker 1: most of the time when we called they would say,
- 21:45Speaker 1: we're not paying it. They wouldn't pay it because the
- 21:49Speaker 1: provider wasn't credentialed for the services provided, or they weren't
- 21:55Speaker 1: getting paid because they were not credentialed with the facility,
- 22:01Speaker 1: or they weren't paid because the codes were not within
- 22:06Speaker 1: their specialty, or Medicaid or Medicare doesn't cover them. They
- 22:10Speaker 1: needed medical records. We would send the medical records. They
- 22:13Speaker 1: would say, these ant the medical records we would need.
- 22:16Speaker 1: So it really was a lot and the job that
- 22:21Speaker 1: I was at when I worked permanent, the issue was
- 22:25Speaker 1: they were moving from place to place, meaning that they
- 22:29Speaker 1: would work for Change health Care far as a hospital,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and then they would change to another company and then
- 22:38Speaker 1: change with another company. And I remember when Change Healthcare
- 22:41Speaker 1: ended up getting hacked and there was a breach. We
- 22:46Speaker 1: were out of work with no pay for four months.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Four months without pay, no unemployment, no nothing. That's the
- 22:54Speaker 1: scariest thing in the world to be in limbo and
- 22:57Speaker 1: not know what to do and not get get paid.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Luckily we had some of us had income taxes, but
- 23:04Speaker 1: still we didn't get reimbursed. Some time we were out
- 23:06Speaker 1: of work and we weren't and so we ended up
- 23:09Speaker 1: going back to work. I ended up working for this
- 23:12Speaker 1: other company and it was cool, but it was less
- 23:16Speaker 1: than what we were. And then I kept getting jobs
- 23:20Speaker 1: where it was they would create a position and then
- 23:25Speaker 1: because the other person had an issue with it that's
- 23:27Speaker 1: been there longer, my position would end up being taken
- 23:30Speaker 1: away from me. So to have the rug being pulled
- 23:34Speaker 1: from up under you, or to be bullied at a job,
- 23:38Speaker 1: or to go through being overworked, or you know, you
- 23:44Speaker 1: want to go on vacation and camp because you only
- 23:47Speaker 1: can use PTO, where back in the day, if you
- 23:50Speaker 1: had salary, you were able to take as many vacations
- 23:53Speaker 1: you wanted to. Because you had salary, You're gonna get
- 23:56Speaker 1: paid no matter what, regardless of what you would get paid,
- 24:00Speaker 1: and you were entied of the benefits, and the benefits
- 24:02Speaker 1: were better in the early nineties than they were then.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But the last two jobs I've had, no that was
- 24:10Speaker 1: a straw that brought the camel's back. And then when
- 24:13Speaker 1: I went after a sets coat, I lost my job
- 24:16Speaker 1: because they decided to spread lies about me and I
- 24:18Speaker 1: lost my job. So because of that, I said I'd
- 24:21Speaker 1: never wanted to work for nobody no more. And that's
- 24:24Speaker 1: when I made the decision to build a business and brand.
- 24:28Speaker 1: This last time was Astraway brought the camel's back for me.
- 24:32Speaker 1: And what I would say is it was something that
- 24:36Speaker 1: I was in a journey of when I lost my job.
- 24:39Speaker 1: When I was going after that sets coat, they kept
- 24:42Speaker 1: calling and texting and supposedly it was because I accidentally
- 24:46Speaker 1: showed my badge. How can you fire somebody because of
- 24:50Speaker 1: a badge, especially if the if what they're doing has
- 24:54Speaker 1: nothing to do with anything that is negative. But that's
- 25:01Speaker 1: what happened, so it is what it is. But having
- 25:07Speaker 1: your own business, having something that is of your own,
- 25:11Speaker 1: you work for yourself, unless you have stockholders, stakeholders or
- 25:16Speaker 1: you know, investors, and that's something different. But when it's
- 25:19Speaker 1: just you and you're running the company, you get to
- 25:24Speaker 1: do what you want to. You ain't got to worry
- 25:26Speaker 1: about what somebody says or what somebody thinks, and you
- 25:29Speaker 1: just do what you feel. But now that I'm doing
- 25:33Speaker 1: travel agency, now you know I'm learning about the cruise ships.
- 25:38Speaker 1: But what made me decide to do that? Because if
- 25:44Speaker 1: I'm going to be traveling, whether it's business or personal,
- 25:48Speaker 1: I might as well get paid to do so. And
- 25:53Speaker 1: since I've been doing two cruises and now I got
- 25:55Speaker 1: a third, now I got a fourth and a fifth one.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Why not get paid for you know that? Why not?
- 26:04Speaker 1: But one is an invitation that I'm going to in
- 26:07Speaker 1: October and the other one is in January, and then
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm going to Greece for fourteen days along with that
- 26:15Speaker 1: first one in October. But God led me to that
- 26:21Speaker 1: decision when the fact that somebody can take your job
- 26:25Speaker 1: from you all because something that they put they sense
- 26:32Speaker 1: is crazy to me. And then it's like you're putting
- 26:35Speaker 1: all these applications in and you're trying to find a
- 26:38Speaker 1: job and nobody's calling you. You go to interviews and
- 26:41Speaker 1: they say they want another candidate, and now the DEI
- 26:45Speaker 1: is off table. Far as for African American people, it's
- 26:49Speaker 1: definitely gonna be harder for them. And then what's crazy
- 26:52Speaker 1: is when you do get a job, they want to
- 26:53Speaker 1: pay you less than your last job. And then when
- 26:57Speaker 1: they find out you made twenty four dollars an hour,
- 27:00Speaker 1: they don't wanna pay you. That's crazy. So all I
- 27:10Speaker 1: can say is is the transition was interesting. But I
- 27:17Speaker 1: remember when I started buying my jewelry business was the
- 27:20Speaker 1: first thing I started before I started doing coaching, And
- 27:24Speaker 1: I remember I bought a bunch of beads and a
- 27:26Speaker 1: bunch of stuff which I'm about to start doing now.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I'm about to go through it over the weekend, as
- 27:32Speaker 1: far as all of my beads and stuff and also
- 27:36Speaker 1: my coaching. But I started podcasting in twenty sixteen. I
- 27:41Speaker 1: did not think for a million years my podcast would
- 27:43Speaker 1: end up where it is, where I have guests on it,
- 27:47Speaker 1: and so up until January ninth of this year, right
- 27:53Speaker 1: when I found out about me losing my job. In December,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I said I was not working for nobody no more,
- 27:58Speaker 1: and I said I had to figure out a way
- 27:59Speaker 1: to be able to make this happen. I wasn't expecting
- 28:03Speaker 1: my father to pass away February the twelfth. I wasn't.
- 28:08Speaker 1: It was not something that none of us saw coming.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But in December I made plans and I said, I'm
- 28:14Speaker 1: gonna take the next six months that if I do
- 28:17Speaker 1: get a job, it's not going to be permanent, it's
- 28:19Speaker 1: gonna be temporary. And I said that I was going
- 28:22Speaker 1: to work on the jury. I was gonna work on
- 28:25Speaker 1: the website and getting the website done. As matter of fact,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I'm about to do domain for the jury. Matter of fact,
- 28:32Speaker 1: today I have a week's account that I can basically use,
- 28:38Speaker 1: but I gotta I'm about to do a domain where
- 28:41Speaker 1: I could be able to get a domain for not
- 28:43Speaker 1: only my coaching business but also my jewelry business, and
- 28:48Speaker 1: the podcast will be connected to the coaching business. So
- 28:53Speaker 1: whatever that name is going to be, that's what I'm
- 28:56Speaker 1: going to attach to it. And then it was like
- 29:01Speaker 1: all of a sudden when I started my jewelry business.
- 29:05Speaker 1: This was around the time I was being intact still
- 29:08Speaker 1: by the people that were running the sex cote. I
- 29:11Speaker 1: was really excited about doing jewelry because the woman that's
- 29:14Speaker 1: daughter I helped get back from that sex colt, she
- 29:17Speaker 1: was getting ready to start doing jewelry and so she's
- 29:20Speaker 1: the one that taught me into doing it because she
- 29:22Speaker 1: said it's easy, and you can design it the way
- 29:26Speaker 1: you want to design it, so on and so forth.
- 29:28Speaker 1: So that's what I started doing. I even got an
- 29:30Speaker 1: Instagram page where I posted some of the stuff I
- 29:33Speaker 1: had from the jewelry business and everything, and I also
- 29:37Speaker 1: have a waste account where I put everything on there.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So I was really excited about that. And that's the thing.
- 29:45Speaker 1: When I get my pop my website done for the
- 29:50Speaker 1: jury and the coaching because I'm trying to connect them
- 29:53Speaker 1: both under one name, but they're two different companies but
- 29:56Speaker 1: just under one name, so they're separate, but people can
- 30:02Speaker 1: still see both. But the coaching and the jury and
- 30:07Speaker 1: all of the products and services will be on the
- 30:11Speaker 1: jewelry business, and the coaching, the podcast, webinars, seminars, trainings,
- 30:18Speaker 1: and all of that will be on the coaching side
- 30:22Speaker 1: of it. And then my travel agency, I'm with somebody else,
- 30:27Speaker 1: so I'm affiliated with somebody else, but I do have
- 30:30Speaker 1: my own travel agency business, so that is to somebody else,
- 30:33Speaker 1: so I don't have to worry about that part of it.
- 30:36Speaker 1: So I'm happy about that. But I was sick, y'all.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I was in the house, in and out the hospital
- 30:48Speaker 1: from twenty twenty two all the way to now, I
- 30:52Speaker 1: would say, until I moved out of my old apartment
- 30:55Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four. I was in the hospital at
- 31:01Speaker 1: least about ten times those years I was there. Kind
- 31:09Speaker 1: of find out it was mold that was making me sick.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I started feeling a little bit better, but I was
- 31:17Speaker 1: on the third floor, and you know, being in chronic pain,
- 31:22Speaker 1: it was kind of hard trying to get up and
- 31:24Speaker 1: down the steps. Still wasn't able to drive, and then
- 31:27Speaker 1: I started back driving a little bit, and then it
- 31:30Speaker 1: happened again. I don't know why it happened, but I
- 31:33Speaker 1: think something is stuck in my ear that just pressing
- 31:35Speaker 1: against a nerve, and that's why it's happening. But we're
- 31:40Speaker 1: still working on that. And then I had to have
- 31:43Speaker 1: a colonosophy where they told me that they found scarring
- 31:47Speaker 1: and there's also a cyst that's in my abdomen that
- 31:50Speaker 1: they have to decide if and when they're gonna move
- 31:52Speaker 1: it or what they're gonna do with it. So those
- 31:55Speaker 1: are the two things I'm currently dealing with. But I
- 31:58Speaker 1: was all excited about taking six months to build the
- 32:03Speaker 1: jewelry business, the coaching business, and this was before the
- 32:07Speaker 1: travel agency thing, but that came right after my father
- 32:11Speaker 1: passed away. But when he passed away, it shut everything
- 32:15Speaker 1: down everything because I was not here when he passed away.
- 32:23Speaker 1: He walked outside. Next thing, you know, my mother didn't
- 32:26Speaker 1: realize he had came to the house and he was
- 32:28Speaker 1: found unresponsive in the backyard and she wasn't able to
- 32:33Speaker 1: get to him where they could do CPR. So the
- 32:36Speaker 1: people came. They did CPR and pronounced him dead at
- 32:39Speaker 1: six something. That evening everything stopped. You know, now it's
- 32:46Speaker 1: I lost my job. I just signed my lease because
- 32:50Speaker 1: I was hoping I was gonna get another job while
- 32:52Speaker 1: I was down there, and I said the following year,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I was gonna move into a two bedroom and I
- 32:56Speaker 1: was going to have enough money because hopefully my business
- 33:00Speaker 1: gonna started popping up out the end and hopefully being
- 33:03Speaker 1: able to drive and finally get down to what's wrong
- 33:07Speaker 1: and everything. And it didn't happen like that. So when
- 33:12Speaker 1: I came back here, I had to move back from Florida,
- 33:16Speaker 1: and that was in April, and then I had to
- 33:19Speaker 1: get situated. We're still going through my father's house. I
- 33:22Speaker 1: still gotta go through everything. Matter of fact, this weekend,
- 33:26Speaker 1: we're gonna go ahead and go through everything that's in
- 33:29Speaker 1: that living room and figure out what we're keeping and
- 33:32Speaker 1: what we're getting rid of, and then the upstairs will
- 33:35Speaker 1: be the last part that we do, and then have
- 33:37Speaker 1: somebody just come and then take all this stuff up
- 33:39Speaker 1: out of here. And we still gotta go out there
- 33:41Speaker 1: in the garage. I was just gonna tell us, let
- 33:45Speaker 1: just let them take everything, because you know, at the
- 33:48Speaker 1: end of the day, I just want to get rid
- 33:50Speaker 1: of it all. I mean, because most of that stuff
- 33:52Speaker 1: is stuff that my dad just kept in everything because
- 33:57Speaker 1: I think he was going through dementia. So everything kind
- 34:01Speaker 1: of stopped. It was like being in limbo, and it
- 34:06Speaker 1: was like the pain started coming back. It was like,
- 34:10Speaker 1: I'm dealing with my father's estate. I'm dealing with trying
- 34:14Speaker 1: to be there for my sister and my mom. I
- 34:16Speaker 1: relocated from the life that the place I really wanted
- 34:21Speaker 1: to be and where I was happy at and had
- 34:23Speaker 1: to uproot and come home to be there for my mom.
- 34:26Speaker 1: And some people would say they probably wouldn't have done it,
- 34:29Speaker 1: But my mom's also going through things with her stomach,
- 34:32Speaker 1: so I did not just want to abandon her, you know.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I wanted to make sure that she would be able
- 34:38Speaker 1: to manage on her own if I was to decide
- 34:40Speaker 1: to go back to Florida. But I alreadither take her
- 34:43Speaker 1: with me and bring her down there. But I was
- 34:47Speaker 1: not going to abandon my mother. That just wasn't going
- 34:50Speaker 1: to happen. And to have to uproot your life and
- 34:54Speaker 1: then all the money I spent to move here, the furniture,
- 34:58Speaker 1: all of that, you know, it's still in the stilling storage.
- 35:02Speaker 1: It's just a lot. So those things were my priorities
- 35:07Speaker 1: these past few months, you know, and then we saw
- 35:10Speaker 1: him on Father's Day, and you know, it just has
- 35:15Speaker 1: been surreal. And I still got to talk to lawyers
- 35:19Speaker 1: about the house and things like that. As matter of fact,
- 35:21Speaker 1: I do that today, talk to a lawyer. My friend
- 35:25Speaker 1: gave me a phone number. So it's really been a lot.
- 35:29Speaker 1: So to all the people that I have post conversations
- 35:32Speaker 1: with that have heard this podcast, I need you all
- 35:34Speaker 1: to understand that I'm just getting back to the swing
- 35:37Speaker 1: of things. I really am. I'm really just getting and
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm still some days like I don't want to do anything.
- 35:45Speaker 1: And then not only that, social media has been my
- 35:49Speaker 1: whole entire existence and my only way of communicating with
- 35:53Speaker 1: people since twenty seventeen. So I'm trying to break myself
- 35:59Speaker 1: of the first and that I do. I pick up
- 36:00Speaker 1: my phone, see what's going on on social media, and
- 36:03Speaker 1: then half my day is gone because right now, you know,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm in the beginning stages. So I'm trying to deprogram
- 36:11Speaker 1: myself of that so I can get up, exercise, go
- 36:17Speaker 1: for a walk, come back exercise. I got my an
- 36:20Speaker 1: exercise bike downstairs. I gotta tread me al I'm about
- 36:23Speaker 1: to get So it's really hard when your life has
- 36:30Speaker 1: been in limbo even before this, or your life is stagnant,
- 36:35Speaker 1: or something happens where you know, and then being diagnosed
- 36:40Speaker 1: with post traumatic slave disorder. I mean it was a lot, honestly,
- 36:45Speaker 1: But now I'm at a place where the person that
- 36:52Speaker 1: went through all of that trauma, the person that had
- 36:55Speaker 1: low self esteem, low self worth, little self value because
- 36:59Speaker 1: of abuse. I'm trying to come to terms with that.
- 37:06Speaker 1: And a lot of people don't even know what post
- 37:07Speaker 1: traumatic slave disorder is, and they really don't, but it
- 37:15Speaker 1: is something where when you were born or when you
- 37:18Speaker 1: were younger, you were treated very badly and you were
- 37:24Speaker 1: made to be a slave, meaning that a sibling could
- 37:30Speaker 1: be the favorite, or you went through some type of trauma,
- 37:34Speaker 1: or you were told that you weren't good enough, you
- 37:36Speaker 1: weren't worthy, or you were supposed to be a boy
- 37:39Speaker 1: and you were a girl. That type of trauma. But
- 37:43Speaker 1: it's trauma we don't talk about. And I found that out.
- 37:47Speaker 1: And also I had spiritual you know, wait on me
- 37:54Speaker 1: that was causing my health issues, and so I really
- 37:57Speaker 1: had to figure things out spiritual and mentally, psychologically, emotionally,
- 38:03Speaker 1: and I am about to get back to my spiritual
- 38:06Speaker 1: matter of fact today, That's what I'm gonna do, is
- 38:08Speaker 1: get back into my spiritual the Bible, getting back into
- 38:13Speaker 1: the scriptures of the day, reading a chapter on that scripture.
- 38:20Speaker 1: So I'm starting with that, and then I still have
- 38:24Speaker 1: people that I have conversations with that I'm still having,
- 38:29Speaker 1: so those are gonna happen. They have taken my mind
- 38:33Speaker 1: off what has been happening. But to everybody who I've
- 38:37Speaker 1: done pre conversations with and I have not reached back out,
- 38:40Speaker 1: I do apologize. But if you still have the calendars
- 38:45Speaker 1: and you're still interested in doing those post conversations, then
- 38:51Speaker 1: by all means you can just go ahead and schedule.
- 38:55Speaker 1: If you don't, email me and let me know. But
- 39:00Speaker 1: I will be sending some thank you emails to some
- 39:03Speaker 1: people because I need to to say thank you for
- 39:06Speaker 1: taking the time to reach out. So it's not that
- 39:08Speaker 1: I haven't, it's just grief is something that's different, and
- 39:17Speaker 1: grief isn't just somebody dying. Sometimes it can be the
- 39:22Speaker 1: death of a job, sometimes it can be the death
- 39:24Speaker 1: of friendship, it could be the death of yourself, but
- 39:29Speaker 1: a part of you dies and something is newly born.
- 39:34Speaker 1: And so through this a new version of me is born,
- 39:40Speaker 1: is newly born. I don't say reborn because I'm not
- 39:44Speaker 1: going back to what was, but trust me, I'm getting
- 39:50Speaker 1: back through swinging things slowly I am, and I mean
- 39:56Speaker 1: just the fact that I do a course a day,
- 39:59Speaker 1: you know I'm achieving something. If I do a podcast
- 40:04Speaker 1: today or all my podcast today, I achieved something. That's
- 40:08Speaker 1: the way I look at it. Baby steps. But it
- 40:12Speaker 1: hasn't been easy though, No, But I wanted to talk
- 40:17Speaker 1: about this because there's probably millions of people going through
- 40:20Speaker 1: the same thing of whether you lose your job and
- 40:24Speaker 1: you've been out of work for months, what's gonna happen?
- 40:27Speaker 1: But the main most important thing was my faith in
- 40:30Speaker 1: God does not waver because of it. And God understands
- 40:35Speaker 1: that I'm going through this phase of trying to not
- 40:41Speaker 1: like sometimes my phone will get extremely hot, and that's
- 40:45Speaker 1: how I know that something is telling me get off
- 40:49Speaker 1: your phone and go do something. So it's really one
- 40:52Speaker 1: of those things where I am breaking habits. It's one
- 40:57Speaker 1: of those things where I'm breaking that I ain't of
- 41:00Speaker 1: abuse and the words I'm not good enough, I'm not worthy,
- 41:04Speaker 1: I'm not deserving getting it at my head even though
- 41:10Speaker 1: I went through it. But still but I am good
- 41:18Speaker 1: and happy. So like I said, you know, I gotta
- 41:26Speaker 1: take things one day at a time, one step at
- 41:27Speaker 1: a time. But sometimes, you know, your sleep can get
- 41:32Speaker 1: messed up, and my mind has been Like last night,
- 41:37Speaker 1: I was trying to go to bed early and my
- 41:41Speaker 1: nose got really to the point where I couldn't breathe
- 41:46Speaker 1: and do my nose. It was not congested, because that's
- 41:51Speaker 1: not what's going on, but it was where it was
- 41:55Speaker 1: swollen and I had to do nasal can congestion to
- 42:01Speaker 1: open it up. And I was up the since o'clock
- 42:05Speaker 1: this morning. So I'm still trying to work on sleep.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'm still trying to work on, you know, how to
- 42:17Speaker 1: cleanse myself of internally, heal myself, how to go about
- 42:26Speaker 1: these new journeys, and still work on the old goals
- 42:30Speaker 1: that I have. So it's really a lot of balance. Honestly,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I have a calendar that I'm about to sit down
- 42:38Speaker 1: over the weekend and figure out what my schedule is
- 42:42Speaker 1: going to be for what time I'm going to get
- 42:44Speaker 1: up every day, what time I'm gonna get up and
- 42:47Speaker 1: start my day, what day I'm what time i'm gonna
- 42:49Speaker 1: go take a nap, and what day i'm gonna do,
- 42:53Speaker 1: what time i'm gonna do other things. So today's podcast day,
- 42:58Speaker 1: So I got like five podcasts of the day to
- 43:00Speaker 1: make up for the ones that I did not do.
- 43:04Speaker 1: But I do have an episode with miss Amy Kemp
- 43:08Speaker 1: that I will be posting for Monday. So I'm excited
- 43:13Speaker 1: about that one because she and I talked about women
- 43:18Speaker 1: in business and even jobs and the balance between being
- 43:24Speaker 1: a wife, being a mother, and yourself and it was
- 43:29Speaker 1: a really good pre conversation and I'm hoping that we
- 43:31Speaker 1: continue that conversation because I really want to get more
- 43:36Speaker 1: in depth with that. But it was a really good
- 43:38Speaker 1: conversation that I wanted to post, and these pre conversations
- 43:42Speaker 1: have been so informative that I want to continue those
- 43:46Speaker 1: conversations because my podcast isn't an interview type of thing.
- 43:52Speaker 1: That's not what it is. It's a conversation. Because here's
- 43:57Speaker 1: the thing. I can get Bill Gates and talk to
- 44:00Speaker 1: him about certain things all day, but if they specialize
- 44:06Speaker 1: in what they do, nine times out of ten if
- 44:09Speaker 1: you let somebody talk, they're gonna answer all your questions anyway.
- 44:15Speaker 1: So if I know the questions, is that I know
- 44:17Speaker 1: what the conversation is going to be about. So I
- 44:22Speaker 1: look at what's being sent to me, what it is
- 44:25Speaker 1: about the person, and that's what we speak on and everything.
- 44:30Speaker 1: And if they ask me questions, that's completely fine. But
- 44:35Speaker 1: it's a conversation type of you know, type of converse,
- 44:40Speaker 1: you know, so it's not an interview form. It's more
- 44:43Speaker 1: so you know, tell me about you your journey, what
- 44:48Speaker 1: you how you got here, your ups and downs, and
- 44:52Speaker 1: you know how you got from you know, this place
- 44:57Speaker 1: to this place based on what your bios said. Then
- 45:01Speaker 1: we talk about, you know, how what they're doing is
- 45:08Speaker 1: now what they what their path actually was meant to
- 45:12Speaker 1: be financially. Some of the people that you've heard on
- 45:15Speaker 1: this podcast have been through ups and downs, failures, success, failures, success.
- 45:23Speaker 1: But that's what people need to hear because people think
- 45:26Speaker 1: that CEOs got it made. They think that CEOs don't
- 45:32Speaker 1: have to work. And don't get wrong, some of them
- 45:35Speaker 1: come from families that have money, like one of my
- 45:40Speaker 1: guests did. But like he said, he also, you know,
- 45:46Speaker 1: molled lawns, and also through newspapers and work, you know,
- 45:52Speaker 1: just to have the experience of it all. One of
- 45:55Speaker 1: my guests that I had on here talked about how
- 45:59Speaker 1: both humans his girlfriend have businesses and how they now
- 46:05Speaker 1: have to balance between that and making time for each other.
- 46:09Speaker 1: So being a CEO or business owner, don't think that
- 46:17Speaker 1: once they become that they don't work, because there's a
- 46:20Speaker 1: lot of decisions that have to be made, and sometimes
- 46:25Speaker 1: they may have to fly to each facility make sure
- 46:28Speaker 1: everything is running okay. Sometimes they'll pretend to be employees
- 46:33Speaker 1: go in there just to see how employees act. So
- 46:38Speaker 1: you know, it is about putting people in place and
- 46:43Speaker 1: making sure that it can run itself. But that doesn't
- 46:47Speaker 1: mean that that that that supervisor or that manager, or
- 46:53Speaker 1: that CEO or the owner of that company or president
- 46:56Speaker 1: or whatever you want to call it is not work
- 47:01Speaker 1: because they are a lot of CEOs back in the
- 47:05Speaker 1: day they did they actually built the company and actually
- 47:08Speaker 1: worked everything. So no how to go in there and
- 47:11Speaker 1: work everything. Some don't, So nothing ventured is nothing gain.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I would say it like that, But you know, can
- 47:22Speaker 1: the process be grueling, especially when you're the one making
- 47:26Speaker 1: the product yourself? From hand by hand. That's different. Like
- 47:30Speaker 1: if you're an engraver and you're engraving something and you
- 47:34Speaker 1: may do it four or five times before you get
- 47:36Speaker 1: it right, you never know, But that person wouldn't know.
- 47:42Speaker 1: If you're making jewelry, for example, that takes a lot
- 47:45Speaker 1: of time, so it can be time consuming, but it's
- 47:48Speaker 1: worth it when you see the end result. So it
- 47:59Speaker 1: just takes time. So that's why I wanted to do
- 48:03Speaker 1: this podcast in that way, because you know, I want
- 48:07Speaker 1: people to learn about social media. I want people to
- 48:10Speaker 1: learn about marketing and the importance of even as a
- 48:16Speaker 1: content creator, you being able to have that because if
- 48:21Speaker 1: you look at Costanet, he's now backstreaming again. But like
- 48:26Speaker 1: I said, some people try things and they don't work
- 48:30Speaker 1: out the way it's planned and they go back to
- 48:33Speaker 1: what's familiar. But you have a lot of people on
- 48:35Speaker 1: social media, TikTok in particular, that ain't making no money.
- 48:41Speaker 1: They're getting gives but no money, and that's because it's
- 48:50Speaker 1: just crazy. But like I said, you know, we all
- 48:55Speaker 1: right now are going through crisis right now, even the
- 48:58Speaker 1: rich and wealthy, everybody's going through a crisis, housing crisis,
- 49:04Speaker 1: homeless crisis, Medicaid, Medicare crisis, so security crisis. But here's
- 49:11Speaker 1: the thing. If you have one hundred thousand dollars, you
- 49:14Speaker 1: can go anywhere and become a citizen as long as
- 49:18Speaker 1: you have a business. As long as your business can
- 49:20Speaker 1: contribute to that country or benefit that country, you can
- 49:24Speaker 1: be there. But you want it where you're secure. But
- 49:31Speaker 1: then there's also something else we have to talk about too.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Should you be married and you're on a journey of
- 49:38Speaker 1: trying to build something only if that partner is building
- 49:43Speaker 1: with you, but you also got to build with them.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It can't just be one person that makes any other person.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Doesn't one person doing well the other person feels small.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So it's a partnership. It's a partnership. But yeah, I
- 50:12Speaker 1: just wanna come on head and just talk about that.
- 50:15Speaker 1: But I appreciate y'all for taking the time to listen
- 50:18Speaker 1: to the podcast, And I'm sorry that I haven't been
- 50:22Speaker 1: able to reach out to the guests that have been
- 50:23Speaker 1: on the podcast. I do apologize, but this has been
- 50:28Speaker 1: a journey of s of self reflection becoming this new
- 50:33Speaker 1: person that I'm becoming. But I'm easing my way back slowly.
- 50:38Speaker 1: But like I said, I will be sending emails Monday
- 50:40Speaker 1: to everybody letting them know that I appreciate them, and
- 50:46Speaker 1: I want to say that on the on this podcast,
- 50:48Speaker 1: that I appreciate everybody that's been on the podcast, every
- 50:51Speaker 1: person I've learned something from on whatever podcasts I do.
- 50:57Speaker 1: So I'm gonna end this by breaking down how the
- 50:59Speaker 1: con conversations go. Number One, there's no questions. It's just
- 51:04Speaker 1: a conversation. You send me questions, but it's gonna be
- 51:08Speaker 1: in a conversational form, so the question will be within
- 51:12Speaker 1: that conversation, and so when the person answers it, they're
- 51:19Speaker 1: gonna answer everything associated with that question. So a lot
- 51:24Speaker 1: of times if you let people talk, which I do,
- 51:28Speaker 1: you're gonna get the answers that you want. And so
- 51:31Speaker 1: like with mister Stevens about his book, I didn't really
- 51:35Speaker 1: have to do too much talking because I like to
- 51:38Speaker 1: give my actual guests the floor and because of it,
- 51:45Speaker 1: it will they will answer the other questions associated with
- 51:49Speaker 1: that question. So they'll answer it for me. And I
- 51:53Speaker 1: noticed that, and so that is the way I do things,
- 51:56Speaker 1: because if it's something I don't know nothing about, I
- 51:59Speaker 1: want them to explain it as thoroughly as possible. I
- 52:03Speaker 1: don't want you to feel like you have a time
- 52:06Speaker 1: limit on how long you get to speak, because you don't.
- 52:10Speaker 1: But if it's something where I might cut in because
- 52:14Speaker 1: I might add something additional to it, then I will
- 52:17Speaker 1: do that. The are pre conversations are thirty minutes to
- 52:20Speaker 1: about an hour, and then the post conversation is an
- 52:23Speaker 1: hour to an hour and a half. I just won't
- 52:24Speaker 1: to let people know that. But this works because number one,
- 52:30Speaker 1: the first conversation is a free for all. It's more so,
- 52:34Speaker 1: it's not perfect. I don't want it to be, but
- 52:38Speaker 1: what I wanted to be is real. I want it
- 52:42Speaker 1: to be where my guests know you personally as a
- 52:45Speaker 1: person and your personal journey. The second part is how
- 52:51Speaker 1: that and your financial what you do now come together
- 52:57Speaker 1: and how that helps people. So everybody got to everybody
- 53:00Speaker 1: got a story. So even when Bill Gates, I would
- 53:03Speaker 1: do the same thing their childhood, what they've been through.
- 53:08Speaker 1: A lot of times people start businesses because they came
- 53:11Speaker 1: from nothing. Some people came from something and they're doing
- 53:14Speaker 1: it to rebel So there's a story there. But once
- 53:18Speaker 1: we get into what they do, they will incorporate that
- 53:22Speaker 1: and I want them to but the second part of
- 53:25Speaker 1: it goes a lot more deeper and more detailed, like SEO.
- 53:28Speaker 1: For example, the guy that I talked to about SEO.
- 53:32Speaker 1: So I need you to understand that we'll be talking
- 53:35Speaker 1: about SEO a little bit more because a lot of
- 53:37Speaker 1: people don't know what that is. But really the first
- 53:40Speaker 1: part is just their story. Are just us talking randomly
- 53:45Speaker 1: to figure out what the topics are gonna be, And
- 53:49Speaker 1: then I will send them an email and say, based
- 53:52Speaker 1: on the conversation we had, we're gonna touch on what
- 53:56Speaker 1: you actually do, how it benefits other people, what they
- 54:00Speaker 1: can learn from the conversation. So it's really a learning
- 54:04Speaker 1: thing because the one thing about healing, healing is about knowledge,
- 54:08Speaker 1: intellect and being intell being intellectual, that's just something that's important.
- 54:14Speaker 1: So I just wanted to stress that so every guest
- 54:18Speaker 1: does not have to worry about it being where it's
- 54:22Speaker 1: stuffy or it's a bunch of questions, because I really
- 54:26Speaker 1: want to give my audience the person to be able
- 54:31Speaker 1: to be as descriptive as they can be. I don't
- 54:34Speaker 1: want to be where they're confined and to where they
- 54:37Speaker 1: cannot be themselves. I want it where their knowledge of
- 54:43Speaker 1: what they do shines because I want you to go
- 54:49Speaker 1: to them far as products and services, and I will
- 54:52Speaker 1: also attach their information, their email addresses. I will attach
- 54:57Speaker 1: all of that into the emails because all of these
- 55:00Speaker 1: people can help you in some way when they come
- 55:02Speaker 1: to business, and you can learn from these people because
- 55:07Speaker 1: by having someone that's been through it, you already know
- 55:10Speaker 1: what you're preparing yourself for and then you can decide
- 55:13Speaker 1: whether you want to deal with it or whether you don't.
- 55:15Speaker 1: So that's just how I wanted to do those conversations.
- 55:21Speaker 1: But now there's some questions in the middle of it all.
- 55:26Speaker 1: But pretty much, once you ask the question, the question
- 55:32Speaker 1: itself will answer the other questions pretty much. So if
- 55:38Speaker 1: you ask one question and you let the person talk
- 55:42Speaker 1: and then you'll say, well, before you continue, I always say,
- 55:47Speaker 1: before you continue, let me ask this question. But for
- 55:51Speaker 1: the most part, I've learned how to do that. But
- 55:54Speaker 1: that's a skill that I've learned to do. But I
- 55:58Speaker 1: never thought in a million years I'll be doing conversations
- 56:00Speaker 1: with people. I never thought that a million years. But
- 56:05Speaker 1: I'm appreciative. But to do a podcast and you don't
- 56:11Speaker 1: know the person and you're just doing for me, no,
- 56:17Speaker 1: because Number one, I want to show people that a
- 56:20Speaker 1: pre conversation can turn into a podcast. It always does,
- 56:25Speaker 1: but you're seeing something that's natural. There's no questions. It's
- 56:30Speaker 1: just tell me about you, tell me about you, your
- 56:34Speaker 1: journey and how you got here, no introduction, nothing, It's
- 56:38Speaker 1: just a conversation. The second one is my name is
- 56:42Speaker 1: such and such. This welcome to my podcast. I have this,
- 56:46Speaker 1: and I have such and such. I say a little
- 56:48Speaker 1: bit about the person, but then again, you've already know
- 56:51Speaker 1: about the person because the pre conversation tells you about
- 56:54Speaker 1: the person. But somebody who's just hearing it for the
- 56:56Speaker 1: first time, because it might be weeks later, it might
- 56:59Speaker 1: be a few months later, then that's when I'll do
- 57:02Speaker 1: the intro. But if it's like a couple, like the
- 57:04Speaker 1: week after that, I won't because you know, you'll know
- 57:08Speaker 1: who the person is because their intro is themselves. Who
- 57:13Speaker 1: what what better way than that? And and most people
- 57:17Speaker 1: they appreciate that because now you know how their conversation goes,
- 57:23Speaker 1: You know how your conversation goes, you know what questions
- 57:26Speaker 1: are going to be asked, what the topic is gonna be,
- 57:30Speaker 1: and then from there it's just a free fall. Now's
- 57:33Speaker 1: it and it's not something they have to be prepared for.
- 57:37Speaker 1: And let me explain why I do that. Because this
- 57:41Speaker 1: person been doing this for a number of years, then
- 57:44Speaker 1: they're the expert. I'm just the person that's listening. So
- 57:49Speaker 1: I'm like my audience, so I'm learning from you. But
- 57:55Speaker 1: at the same time, whenever I think my audience would
- 57:58Speaker 1: want to know is what I'll bring up. But no,
- 58:01Speaker 1: it's a conversational thing. And then sometimes they'll come back
- 58:05Speaker 1: for a third thing, like missus Stevens is coming back.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I have to he wants to talk about his new book,
- 58:11Speaker 1: so he's coming back. So some of my some of
- 58:14Speaker 1: the people, if they have new things, they're welcome to
- 58:17Speaker 1: email me say I would love to come back on
- 58:19Speaker 1: I got something new that I have that I would
- 58:22Speaker 1: love to introduce to your art. I'm open to it.
- 58:25Speaker 1: I am because keeping those relationships are very important, and
- 58:29Speaker 1: they just are. So it's not just about them being guessed.
- 58:34Speaker 1: It's more or less about having them for networking or
- 58:39Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. Cause who knows, I might
- 58:42Speaker 1: reach out to one of them and say I need
- 58:45Speaker 1: your advice on seos and they'll say, oh, okay, I
- 58:48Speaker 1: can help you with that could you never know? So again,
- 58:54Speaker 1: you know, it's just good to be able to just
- 59:00Speaker 1: have the freedom to be comfortable. So once they tell
- 59:04Speaker 1: me about them and once we you know, learn our conversation,
- 59:09Speaker 1: then sometimes I don't post them all. For the most part,
- 59:14Speaker 1: I have and they've done pretty well because Miss Thane
- 59:18Speaker 1: I love him, and Stacey and Miss Shonda and Melissa
- 59:25Speaker 1: and mister Williamson and all of these people that I've
- 59:31Speaker 1: had on my podcast, I'm eternally grateful for them even
- 59:35Speaker 1: taking the time to do it, and that means a
- 59:38Speaker 1: lot to me. I'm very appreciative of the guests I
- 59:41Speaker 1: have on. But I need to make it clear. I
- 59:44Speaker 1: have ten podcasts, ten ten podcasts, not just one. So
- 59:51Speaker 1: some people reach out to me and they'll say, well,
- 59:53Speaker 1: I don't think I'm a fit. But what you don't
- 59:56Speaker 1: know is I have ten podcasts. You don't know which
- 59:59Speaker 1: one I'm putting it on until I send it to you.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: And then when I send it to you, I send
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: the L the l listening version of it, and I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: also do if we do it on Zoom, the video
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: version of it. I send both to you so you
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: can put on your podcast. But I post it first
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: before I send it to you. That way you'll know
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: it's there, and then they can also promote it, which
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I appreciate. So again, there are ten podcasts. You don't
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: know which one I'm gonna put it on. That's nothing,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: so I have to make that clear too. So I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: just wanted to do this right quick before I get
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: ready to start my day cause I probably gonna end
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: up taking a nap because I have not been to
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: sleep since sis is one. But I want to do
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: this podcast because, you know, I wanted to let everybody
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: know what has been going on and how I'm doing
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: and how losing my father has changed and me losing
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: my job have changed my whole correctory of my life.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: But I'm getting there. So it's a process, but you know,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: it takes one day at a time, but I appreciate
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: the support. I appreciate all of you. I will be
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: getting back to normal because next week I will be
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: talking about travel agency. I will be talking about the
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: very beginning when it comes to deciding how to go
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: about your business and what all you're gonna need because
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: a lot of people don't understand even with content creating,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: there are things you need and I don't think nobody teaches,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: especially with content creators, marketing, SEO, website, substat you know, podcasting,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the different apps you can use. You know, a lot
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: of people just know about YouTube, Instagram, they know Bigo,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: they know about Twitch, they know about TikTok. But there
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: are other ones that are international. But we definitely are
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: gonna talk about that too, and also about you know,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: losing jobs and things like that. And if you have
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: a story and you want to come up on my
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: channel because you have a story to tell, I would
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: love to not only have professionals, I would also have
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: love to have people that are really losing their jobs,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: that have really had struggles and really bringing your stories
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: to life, you know, from a different perspective. So I
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: would love to not only have professionals on here, but
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: also people that are really going through it right now.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: So I just want to say thank y'all for doing this.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I appreciate y'all. I love y'all, and until next time.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: I will see y'all next time. My eyes
