Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: And I've never ever liked Storm with T'Challa. I thought
- 0:04Speaker 1: that was corny.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You know, let's take our two most prominent black characters
- 0:08Speaker 2: and put them together.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Thought that was always back and fighting. What's up, y'all?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Your boy DJ been on me aka n Saba.
- 0:27Speaker 3: You're and this is Joel aka Silock and drop.
- 0:32Speaker 4: It and we are here to review the first three
- 0:36Speaker 4: episodes of the second season of X Men ninety seven.
- 0:45Speaker 1: That day he threw me off with that one. So overall,
- 0:49Speaker 1: first three episodes, you're feeling it.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm here for it. I love it all right? No, no,
- 0:54Speaker 2: I mean you have notes and we'll get to that.
- 0:56Speaker 2: But overall, no real.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Complaints about the first three episodes ninety seven.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Yeah, no, no real complaints. I'm just here to see
- 1:04Speaker 3: where it's going to go next. Like, I'm very curious
- 1:07Speaker 3: where the story is going to go, and knowing that,
- 1:09Speaker 3: like there's at least two more seasons, I'm like, so,
- 1:13Speaker 3: what is this? Where is the story going to go
- 1:14Speaker 3: after this season? Because it seems like they're doing kind
- 1:16Speaker 3: of like a focused villain for each season, and so
- 1:19Speaker 3: this season is apocalypse. I just am curious who's next
- 1:23Speaker 3: or what is going to be the main antagonist in
- 1:26Speaker 3: the next season.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Hm hmm, yeah, because the first season mainly was bashed
- 1:31Speaker 2: and when all was said and done, I guess right, yeah, yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 2: because it's like it kind of I mean, Magneto is there,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and the conflict between Mannito and Xavier, you know, the
- 1:40Speaker 2: love hate relationship is there. Yeah, but it's really bashed
- 1:43Speaker 2: and who's really the main antagonist of season two?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, there's season one.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Last season it was like humanity and like everyone who
- 1:51Speaker 3: hates Musicans And now it's like the call is coming
- 1:53Speaker 3: from inside the house. Now we got to figure out
- 1:56Speaker 3: what's going on with our own people.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I'll just say, you know it like, I'm so happy
- 2:01Speaker 2: that this show is back and that it's bringing the
- 2:04Speaker 2: same level that we got in season one. And that
- 2:07Speaker 2: was something I was definitely a little worried about because
- 2:09Speaker 2: you know, we know about all the behind the scenes
- 2:11Speaker 2: scenes going on with Beau Demayo, and we still see
- 2:16Speaker 2: Bo's name.
- 2:18Speaker 3: When I saw executive producer, Okay, you got your name
- 2:22Speaker 3: there still.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And I remember when Bo was definitely talking about how
- 2:25Speaker 2: their name was not going to be on it, and
- 2:28Speaker 2: their name has been on every episode as executive producer still,
- 2:32Speaker 2: you know, showrunner. I know they wrote a lot of
- 2:34Speaker 2: this season, and you know, there was a lot of
- 2:36Speaker 2: behind the scenes we weren't sure what version of this
- 2:39Speaker 2: season we were going to get because I personally have
- 2:42Speaker 2: been on shows when the showrunners have been fired and
- 2:45Speaker 2: the season that you saw was not the season that.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I worked on. Yes, So you know, I'm not.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Sure how much of this season is the season that
- 2:54Speaker 2: Bo worked on, but I think it is a lot
- 2:55Speaker 2: of it.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's what I read was that, like
- 2:58Speaker 3: they used a lot of his notes and structure.
- 3:01Speaker 2: For yeah, because it would be pretty difficult to not
- 3:05Speaker 2: do it, honestly. And that was one thing that I
- 3:07Speaker 2: really loved is we've seen some of the after effects
- 3:10Speaker 2: from season one, like when we see the news reporter
- 3:13Speaker 2: on screen and they're covered in the Sentinel.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Tech, which was just hilarious to me.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And kind of like a call back to me like
- 3:22Speaker 2: Batman eighty seven, the original Batman Michael Keaton movie, when
- 3:26Speaker 2: the sugar starts threatening the city and he's like, I'm
- 3:29Speaker 2: putting poison in all the cosmetics, and then in the
- 3:32Speaker 2: next scene you see the news reporter show up and
- 3:34Speaker 2: they're all messed up because they're not wearing any makeup
- 3:36Speaker 2: or anything.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So I felt like.
- 3:40Speaker 2: That was kind of a call back to that and
- 3:42Speaker 2: just also a call back to the first season and
- 3:44Speaker 2: really dope to see.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I always love shows like that, animated or not.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Whenever you see the effects of something like uh, are
- 3:52Speaker 2: always sunny in Philadelphia? Is excellent at that, Like if
- 3:55Speaker 2: they break the door to the bar, it's broken for
- 3:58Speaker 2: the next five episodes.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Like yeah, I love I love continuity, Like yeah, details
- 4:04Speaker 3: of continuity, Like oh yeah, I do remember that specific episode,
- 4:07Speaker 3: and I'm glad that that's still a thing.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We had the first episode which was Days of Past Future,
- 4:14Speaker 2: So that's the one where we're going into the future
- 4:17Speaker 2: and seeing what happened to the X Men team that
- 4:20Speaker 2: went into the future, right, yep, when that storm and
- 4:23Speaker 2: of course Forge going after them.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so Forge went after Storm, Gene, Cyclops, Morph and Wolverine.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yep. My first thing is this, I think this is.
- 4:36Speaker 2: My first note really is that the whole Storm in
- 4:40Speaker 2: Forge relationship seems to be speed running, Like I didn't
- 4:45Speaker 2: really notice it happening, and now they're just you know,
- 4:48Speaker 2: she's over excited to see him.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Well, it kind of felt like Forge was a little
- 4:54Speaker 3: more excited than Storm because they were having that conversation
- 4:57Speaker 3: and he was like, how is this gonna work?
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yeah's work, And that was also like I thought that
- 5:06Speaker 5: was cute but also weird because he talked about how
- 5:09Speaker 5: he's a man of science when we see this man
- 5:11Speaker 5: using magic.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Right, you're literally a descendant of Shamans.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, like we've seen you use magic, like you have
- 5:19Speaker 2: to have some type of faith.
- 5:21Speaker 3: But he did like reject the magic side of him,
- 5:23Speaker 3: like I know, yeah, but.
- 5:25Speaker 2: But yeah, but then the other side of it is
- 5:30Speaker 2: I really did enjoy the little mini arc with him
- 5:33Speaker 2: by the because by the end of the episode, he's like,
- 5:35Speaker 2: why the goddess? You know, So he comes around real
- 5:39Speaker 2: my girl, he sees black woman magic and he just
- 5:43Speaker 2: did faith immediately.
- 5:45Speaker 3: So yeah, you're not mad at hot take. I'd rather
- 5:48Speaker 3: see her with Force and with T'Challa.
- 5:50Speaker 1: So that's not even a hot tape to me.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I mean, you know, let me say that definitively that
- 5:57Speaker 2: I've always been a Storm Forged.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You know, that's who I grew up on.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I know it's a toxic as relationship, but it's just
- 6:05Speaker 2: a relationship that I've just always.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Loved and I've never ever liked Storm with a challa.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I thought that was corny.
- 6:13Speaker 2: You know, let's take our two most prominent black characters
- 6:17Speaker 2: and put them together. Thought that was always back and
- 6:20Speaker 2: fight me. And I know I'm about to get roasted
- 6:23Speaker 2: for this one. I already know I get roasted for
- 6:25Speaker 2: this one every time, and I don't care Stormage Forge forever,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and I love that we're seeing it in this Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But I do agree back to your point that like
- 6:34Speaker 3: when when did y'all get so like intimate, Like like
- 6:38Speaker 3: I know that y'all been through some stuff in the desert,
- 6:41Speaker 3: but it just was like, okay, so Yellow Yellow couple now,
- 6:45Speaker 3: or at least Forge thinks they're a couple.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I mean she was, you know, they were definitely kissing
- 6:50Speaker 1: on each other.
- 6:50Speaker 3: So yeah, happy when she saw him.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so they're a couple.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that's what it was that episode
- 6:59Speaker 2: that we saw before us, the speed Run, because even
- 7:01Speaker 2: in that episode, I felt like it moved very quickly.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But you know, they had their time and the desert,
- 7:05Speaker 2: they went their trials and tribulations, and now we're here, so.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, how'd you feel about Bone Wolverine now
- 7:11Speaker 3: because you know, his metal got taken out last season.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Once again, they really speed right now, Like I you know,
- 7:19Speaker 2: because I know in the comics when he loses the metal,
- 7:22Speaker 2: he becomes super Fero Wolverine, and it does not feel
- 7:26Speaker 2: like we're going to get that arc at all. That
- 7:28Speaker 2: feels like because they've been out in the future for
- 7:30Speaker 2: months and said.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yeah, a time jump, like.
- 7:35Speaker 2: So maybe they already dealt with that, you know, they
- 7:37Speaker 2: already he already went Faraoh and recovered from it, and
- 7:40Speaker 2: now it's just bone Claw Wolverine, which doesn't seem to
- 7:43Speaker 2: make much difference so far.
- 7:44Speaker 3: So yeah, I was like when he first popped up
- 7:47Speaker 3: on the scene and he was like stabbing the robots,
- 7:51Speaker 3: I was like, dang, your bones are that strong that
- 7:52Speaker 3: they they go through metal.
- 7:56Speaker 2: But that's how it was in the comics, and some
- 7:58Speaker 2: issues they be breaking and shot issues. He teared through
- 8:01Speaker 2: a sento.
- 8:02Speaker 3: They weren't breaking though, And I did appreciate that detail,
- 8:04Speaker 3: like you could see like his claus kept breaking off,
- 8:07Speaker 3: but because he has the healing power, they kept.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Oh wow, I got to rewatch that.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Like as he's like slicing and dicing up the robots.
- 8:14Speaker 3: You can see like chunks of his claws like flying
- 8:16Speaker 3: off because I was like, yeah, his his claws aren't
- 8:19Speaker 3: super strong without the metal.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Wow, that's yeah, that's a little detail that I love. Incredible. Yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 1: But other than that, it was just you know, you know,
- 8:28Speaker 1: cool whatever.
- 8:30Speaker 2: But I did like the little references to their costumes,
- 8:32Speaker 2: like in the future they're wearing cyclops and Gene especially
- 8:36Speaker 2: are wearing a version of their X Factor costumes they wore. Yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 2: it's the the underneath costume. The red and the blue
- 8:44Speaker 2: are both like middle of the run of X Factor
- 8:47Speaker 2: when they got there, and beast, where's this brown and yellow?
- 8:50Speaker 2: There's like some of the ugliest version of their at
- 8:52Speaker 2: Those costumes in general are pretty ugly, but it's one
- 8:55Speaker 2: of those things where it's like, yes, you know, we
- 8:57Speaker 2: get to see this hideous costume that I remember from
- 9:00Speaker 2: my childhood on screen, so you know, it works.
- 9:03Speaker 3: That's how I feel about Sunspots costume, Like the one
- 9:07Speaker 3: with the neck and Everything's costume is hideous to me.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Why does he look like a ninja turtle?
- 9:15Speaker 2: I have that action figure because that was the only
- 9:17Speaker 2: sun Spot they made at the time.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You know, I wanted him in the original of the
- 9:21Speaker 1: mutant's costume.
- 9:22Speaker 3: But right they you.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Know, they gave me this red and blue Hidios thing
- 9:26Speaker 2: with this neck wear, and you know, Roberto, you've done better.
- 9:30Speaker 3: But yeah, you know, you know that's what I guess.
- 9:34Speaker 3: That's what happens when you get cut off from the money.
- 9:36Speaker 3: You gotta make shift something.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Real clear to make it work.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So how did you feel about the big storm moment
- 9:46Speaker 2: in this episode?
- 9:47Speaker 3: Oh? I loved it, Like it was just so cool
- 9:50Speaker 3: to see them like showing the full extent of storms
- 9:54Speaker 3: powers and I think, like it really just made me
- 9:56Speaker 3: think of Planet size X Men and Run where they
- 10:01Speaker 3: show her like creating the atmosphere on Mars for Arocco.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, space is part of the weather.
- 10:09Speaker 3: She's gonna control it any way she can, like and
- 10:12Speaker 3: I like that. Another Askani was like, yeah, I've seen
- 10:16Speaker 3: you do this, girl like you. And then the other
- 10:20Speaker 3: thing I liked was it wasn't like oh she was
- 10:23Speaker 3: she was struggling and she had to like dig down deep,
- 10:27Speaker 3: just like she was like, Oh, okay, Son, do your stuff.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Straight up? What you think? I loved it.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I mean I love every time like Storm and Cyclops.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I think in X Men ninety seven are two of
- 10:43Speaker 2: my favorites because they're two of my favorite characters. You know,
- 10:47Speaker 2: they're probably my the first two characters I fell in
- 10:50Speaker 2: love with the X Men was Cyclops in Storm and
- 10:55Speaker 2: to see them shine like this in ninety seven, it's
- 10:57Speaker 2: just been great.
- 10:58Speaker 3: From the Storm's themes, it's like, oh, I know what's up.
- 11:02Speaker 2: And then Cyclops has just been amazing. So yeah, that's
- 11:05Speaker 2: both of them shining. Every time they do, it's been great.
- 11:08Speaker 2: So no, and then.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Mother as Skannie, they never, like, I'm not I watched
- 11:14Speaker 1: a lot.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Of the original episodes. I can't remember this the first
- 11:16Speaker 2: time we've seen her. But they never reveal exactly who
- 11:21Speaker 2: she is in this episode, do they.
- 11:23Speaker 3: No, there's a lot of like strong hints yes and
- 11:29Speaker 3: innuendos of who she is.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I mean, if you read the comics, it is you know,
- 11:34Speaker 2: she is the same mother as Johnnie from the comics, which, yeah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: Rachel Summers, who is an alternate future version who is
- 11:41Speaker 2: the daughter of Cyclops in Jean Gray. Yeah, yeah, but
- 11:45Speaker 2: not this Cyclops in Jean Gray. I guess I'm not
- 11:48Speaker 2: sure it'sact now it works out now.
- 11:49Speaker 3: It's like a is she I think that's why is
- 11:52Speaker 3: she the same in the same time, And as like
- 11:54Speaker 3: where Bishop is from or is that different?
- 11:58Speaker 2: For a long time, and I mean most to my
- 12:00Speaker 2: lifelong time, I was always really confused about where Bishop
- 12:04Speaker 2: comes from. But recently I was reading something that made
- 12:07Speaker 2: it kind of player to me. So it's like, then
- 12:09Speaker 2: the timeline goes, you know, we're in the present and
- 12:12Speaker 2: then the Sentinels Days of Future Passed happens where the
- 12:16Speaker 2: Sentinels arise and they rub out all the mutants and
- 12:19Speaker 2: everybody goes into this resistance thing, and that's where Rachel
- 12:22Speaker 2: becomes a hound.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Who's other mutants?
- 12:26Speaker 3: Okay, yes, days the futures past.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yes, and then sometime after that the mutants rise up
- 12:34Speaker 2: and established the ex Security whatever it is that built
- 12:38Speaker 2: that Bishop is part of. So that's all on the
- 12:41Speaker 2: same timeline now from what I understand. So Bishop comes
- 12:45Speaker 2: from it a little bit ahead of where Rachel is in,
- 12:49Speaker 2: but they're all from one timeline. Okay, Okay, I don't
- 12:53Speaker 2: think that always was the case, and I think Marvel
- 12:55Speaker 2: just simplified it recently, or you.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Know, the players go back and reckon something, yeah, to
- 13:00Speaker 3: make it work for whatever they want to do.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And that's probably for the best because it was always
- 13:04Speaker 1: weird to me that there were two separate apocalyptic you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: futures from the Mutant site.
- 13:09Speaker 2: That was just weird. So yeah, so they hinted it.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Throughout the episode, we see her use a lot of power.
- 13:14Speaker 1: She talks about her time.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You know, ability to manipulate time in a way, all
- 13:19Speaker 2: the things of Rachel Summers. When she pulls off the mask,
- 13:22Speaker 2: we see the marks of the towns on her face.
- 13:25Speaker 3: She got that same g I Jane buzz cut love.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yes, but she never mentions to cyclops from your daughter
- 13:32Speaker 2: and I don't. Yeah, people are gonna have to help
- 13:35Speaker 2: me out on this. I don't know if in the
- 13:36Speaker 2: original X Men run of ninety of you know, ninety seven,
- 13:40Speaker 2: I mean, but it's it called this X Men the
- 13:42Speaker 2: animated series an original run, did Rachel or mother as.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Johnnie ever show up. I'm not sure.
- 13:49Speaker 3: I don't think so, I don't remember.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:54Speaker 2: So at the end of the episode, the future team
- 13:58Speaker 2: of X Men gets return to the past as leaving
- 14:01Speaker 2: young Cable Nathan in the future as it goes into comics.
- 14:06Speaker 2: This is definitely a renditional version of the Adventures of
- 14:12Speaker 2: slim and I can't remember what Gene is, probably in
- 14:15Speaker 2: the past, but there was a couple of limited series
- 14:17Speaker 2: where they show Gene and Stott in the future raising
- 14:21Speaker 2: Nathan Summers, and so this, yeah, this is from this
- 14:24Speaker 2: is taken from that limited series. A lot of the outfits,
- 14:27Speaker 2: a lot of the clothing, the Dayspring, all that stuff
- 14:30Speaker 2: comes up in this.
- 14:31Speaker 1: You know, the astroni Plan all that.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Okay, So that's you know, if you want to go
- 14:36Speaker 2: in and read those, you can definitely check them out.
- 14:38Speaker 2: They're pretty interesting and they have a one of them
- 14:40Speaker 2: features a rebirth of Apocalypse in the future as well.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So in that comic, do they do they also not
- 14:47Speaker 3: tell Nathan who they are.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I don't think they do.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I think, I know in the original limited series
- 14:53Speaker 2: they don't, and then I think maybe in the second
- 14:55Speaker 2: one they do. But I know an the original they
- 14:58Speaker 2: don't because it's to preserve you know, the whole timeline
- 15:00Speaker 2: and everything.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, to rewatch it because at first I thought, oh,
- 15:05Speaker 3: you don't know who they are, and then they have
- 15:07Speaker 3: the conversation on the train and they're over here like
- 15:10Speaker 3: confessing the memory of when they you know, send him
- 15:13Speaker 3: to the future, and I was just confused, like, you
- 15:16Speaker 3: don't know that these are your parents?
- 15:17Speaker 1: No, he does not know that they're his parents.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And because Cable finds out, you know, as a grown
- 15:22Speaker 2: person that he you know, yeah, but not as a kid.
- 15:25Speaker 1: No, So I think you know, they feel like it'll
- 15:27Speaker 1: mess it all up or whatever.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Okay, well did they because they wanted to stay behind.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Look you know what I mean, I'm gonna wave my
- 15:38Speaker 1: hands on that when in.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Keep a moving to episode two. I think that's pretty
- 15:44Speaker 2: much everything we had to say about him.
- 15:45Speaker 3: So on the one thing that I wanted to say
- 15:47Speaker 3: the episode Yes, the Horsemen of the Future apocaly Yo Fire,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I was like, oh, who are these people? I've never
- 15:56Speaker 3: seen them before in my life, but I love them.
- 15:58Speaker 2: All right, so I I didn't have time to find out.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But yeah, so I've read a lot of comic comics.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I've never seen this version of the Horseman.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I was like, I don't think I seen
- 16:09Speaker 3: them before.
- 16:10Speaker 1: In comments Okay, I wasn't sure if I missed them
- 16:13Speaker 1: or not.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because I mean they were definitely famine, war, pestilence.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And death. I guess, Yeah, I'm not sure which was which.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Honestly, I feel like the drummer was probably pestilence.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Or famine one or two.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, I think I think the drummer was war
- 16:33Speaker 3: because ope, the same powers as Green Bowl cut War
- 16:38Speaker 3: that we see in episode two. Okay, yeah, I don't
- 16:41Speaker 3: know who death. Oh, because then there's also that the
- 16:44Speaker 3: giant Minito be Death. Yeah maybe that was Death. Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 3: I was laughing at he wasn't part of the Horseman,
- 16:52Speaker 3: but he was like Apocalypse's right hand man.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Oh Osmondais right, yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 3: He gave me my vibes from Thundercat.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I was like, who is this, mamra man that is
- 17:04Speaker 3: helping out Apocalypse.
- 17:06Speaker 2: He's from the comments too. I think his name is
- 17:08Speaker 2: Osmond Deis. I think like the dude and Watchman.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I think he's.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that was his name because it showed up in
- 17:13Speaker 3: the subtitle.
- 17:14Speaker 2: But I was like, okay, in my life, yeah, yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 2: he's definitely from the comments for his old stone self.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Yeah, like Johnny West Mamra. I was like, who is.
- 17:22Speaker 1: This all right?
- 17:27Speaker 2: So the episode two now, episode two, this is the
- 17:29Speaker 2: one you know where I'm I'm pretty much jumped out
- 17:31Speaker 2: of my seat, like I jumped out of my seat
- 17:33Speaker 2: screaming and I think a lot of people are got
- 17:36Speaker 2: that same reaction to the so what's the name of
- 17:40Speaker 2: this team? Line? And the X Force opening that was
- 17:44Speaker 2: just that was lit. I'm still sitting.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Here like, ah, yeah, I did that right right, you know.
- 17:53Speaker 2: It was like the first in the first season when
- 17:55Speaker 2: I noticed that they were changing out people. You know,
- 17:59Speaker 2: when Gambi gets killed and he's not in the opening.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and like immediately you're like, that's that's not the Blackbird,
- 18:07Speaker 3: Like what's.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but all the same looks, you know, cable as
- 18:12Speaker 2: sipops to close up on his eye, runs by, just
- 18:17Speaker 2: all the little details, but flipped to X Force was
- 18:21Speaker 2: that was just incredible.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Even like the in the X Men opening when like
- 18:27Speaker 3: I think it's Jubilee that runs up against the fence. Yes,
- 18:30Speaker 3: it was one of the like young mus Quintin.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Quintin and what's the name is by the side? Chambers
- 18:36Speaker 2: by side?
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 2: All that The funniest part to me though, in the
- 18:41Speaker 2: whole little opening is Apocalypse grabbing Archangel.
- 18:45Speaker 4: And using him as a huge shield. Oh, it's the details.
- 18:55Speaker 2: And then when they're running against each other it's the
- 18:57Speaker 2: Horsemen versus Egg Force, and and you see like the
- 19:01Speaker 2: Black Angel running in the middle with a few of
- 19:04Speaker 2: the other kids.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Just just excellent.
- 19:07Speaker 2: And I mean just the whole line. You know, what's
- 19:09Speaker 2: the name of this team? And then you know perfection
- 19:12Speaker 2: that was perfection and uh you know something that is
- 19:17Speaker 2: in perfection.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I think.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I was like, oh, let's talk about this team though.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yeah, So Joel made a video that I just checked that,
- 19:29Speaker 2: you know, three comments less.
- 19:32Speaker 1: It was a lot.
- 19:33Speaker 3: It's still being talked about.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Still being talked about.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Where Joel discussed the history of Silocked aka Betsy Braddock
- 19:41Speaker 2: aka kan and I guess.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well, people have been blowing me up telling me
- 19:47Speaker 3: the w asylent. I'm like, okay, how was I supposed
- 19:49Speaker 3: to know?
- 19:49Speaker 1: But what is it.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Cannon or something? Yeah, that's it's a made up name.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Like yeah, yeah, I was like, there's no silent w
- 20:01Speaker 3: in Japanese like Quanta.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I mean, I always went with Quanta, even that name
- 20:06Speaker 2: when I remember they first introduced it, I was like, Quanta,
- 20:09Speaker 2: what Kaanna?
- 20:10Speaker 1: I guess you know, but oh yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 2: So Joel detailed the history of Betsy Braddock and how.
- 20:18Speaker 1: There's you know, a bit.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Of interesting history when it comes to Silo's origins with
- 20:25Speaker 2: Christopher Claremont, who took her from a white British woman
- 20:30Speaker 2: and transformed her into a Japanese ninja. And Chris Claremont
- 20:35Speaker 2: does this type of thing more often than not. He
- 20:37Speaker 2: has turned two white police officers into Native Americans and
- 20:42Speaker 2: then put them into a super weird sex torture thing.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So you don't know about that.
- 20:50Speaker 2: You don't know about Okay, Well, it's two characters I
- 20:55Speaker 2: can't remember. I think Friedlander is their last name. I
- 20:57Speaker 2: can't remember their first days, but they're two Caucasian police
- 21:01Speaker 2: officers who are involved with the New Mutants and stuff
- 21:04Speaker 2: the Demon Bear storyline which had to do with Danny Moonstar.
- 21:10Speaker 2: During that they get transformed into Native Americans.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Why not A few issues?
- 21:17Speaker 2: A few issues later, along comes Impath, who is a
- 21:21Speaker 2: villain of the New Mutants and has the ability to
- 21:24Speaker 2: control emotions, and so he sees them, you know, they're
- 21:29Speaker 2: spying on him. Well, he's actually spying on the New
- 21:31Speaker 2: Mutants and they catch him, and so he's like, you
- 21:34Speaker 2: will love each other like no one else. So they
- 21:37Speaker 2: start kissing and fonneling on each other immediately in front
- 21:39Speaker 2: of him, and that's the last we see of Roim
- 21:42Speaker 2: for like of them for like, you know, I don't know,
- 21:44Speaker 2: twelve issues or so, and so they show up again
- 21:47Speaker 2: dressed in like straight up Gump costumes, you know, black
- 21:52Speaker 2: leather and everything and tattoos and mohawks and all kinds
- 21:56Speaker 2: of shit in there, like we've just been fucking for
- 21:59Speaker 2: the last twelve months, you know, we can't control it.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, because he never took it off.
- 22:06Speaker 1: No, he never took it off. Yeah, he just left
- 22:08Speaker 1: them there.
- 22:08Speaker 2: So my job like eight reading this full time, like
- 22:16Speaker 2: eight years old reading this ish and this is a
- 22:19Speaker 2: common thing with you know, Chris Claremont and X men.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Like I was funny because I was just on vacation
- 22:25Speaker 2: and I was explaining this whole thing to a friend
- 22:27Speaker 2: of mine who does not read comments like that. You know,
- 22:30Speaker 2: it's I was trying to explain to him. No, this
- 22:31Speaker 2: is just They were like, well, maybe it was just something.
- 22:34Speaker 2: I was like, No, this is what Chris Claremont does
- 22:36Speaker 2: on the regular. At one point, the Professor X just
- 22:39Speaker 2: captured by the Morlocks and is dressed up once again
- 22:42Speaker 2: in a gumph costume.
- 22:44Speaker 1: This is just something that he loves, you know.
- 22:47Speaker 3: And it's a signature, you know.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's his sydustry.
- 22:50Speaker 2: He you know, he likes that Sado massacre stuff, and
- 22:53Speaker 2: he likes Asians, and he likes women, and you know,
- 22:57Speaker 2: he likes the storyline of a woman being beaten down
- 23:00Speaker 2: and built back up to where she's stronger him before,
- 23:03Speaker 2: you know, but she always has to be beat down first.
- 23:06Speaker 2: That is definitely Chris Claremont trademark. Okay, So that being said,
- 23:12Speaker 2: you made this video, it's played in this history and
- 23:14Speaker 2: how a simple fix to this would just be to
- 23:17Speaker 2: have Silot be Quanning from the jump in the animated
- 23:21Speaker 2: series and not deal with the whole body switching to
- 23:25Speaker 2: Betsy Bradditt's character, because in the current continuity of comments,
- 23:29Speaker 2: Betsy Braddock is back in her Caucasian body and Quannon
- 23:33Speaker 2: is silocked.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, Betsy is Captain Britain right now.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I'm not sure if she's dead or not.
- 23:40Speaker 2: She died during it was rough. I was I was
- 23:43Speaker 2: qubitbe pissed about.
- 23:44Speaker 3: That, but she stayed dead for a minute.
- 23:48Speaker 1: It was unnecessary anyway, we were waiting with baited breath
- 23:53Speaker 1: for this episode.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yes, and uh, Silac has a deep British.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's very interesting because I do know the voice
- 24:04Speaker 3: actress is Japanese. Wow, So I'm like, is she British Japanese?
- 24:10Speaker 3: And then it's like, so is this your weird compromise, like, Oh,
- 24:14Speaker 3: we're gonna make her Asian, but we're gonna have a
- 24:17Speaker 3: nod to Betsy with a British accent. I feel like, yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 3: people have like sent me pictures which thank you, I've
- 24:26Speaker 3: I've received them that on like the X Men trading
- 24:31Speaker 3: cards for ninety seven that she is listed as Quanan. Okay,
- 24:36Speaker 3: so I guess it is her. She is They've never
- 24:38Speaker 3: said her name yet so far, but it looks like
- 24:42Speaker 3: that is the direction they are going. It is just
- 24:45Speaker 3: kind of weird that, like, okay, you want to give
- 24:48Speaker 3: her a British accent to be like shout out to
- 24:51Speaker 3: all my Betsy fans.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Like, I mean, I kind of get it, you know
- 24:56Speaker 2: because for a lot of people, you know, that's all
- 24:58Speaker 2: they grew up with, Yeah, was see as you know,
- 25:02Speaker 2: a Japanese woman. And for a lot of them, they
- 25:05Speaker 2: didn't even understand, you know, because it's not something that's
- 25:07Speaker 2: brought up every issue that I used to be white
- 25:09Speaker 2: and you know, so it was just it was just
- 25:13Speaker 2: Betsy Braddock somehow it's a Japanese woman.
- 25:15Speaker 1: You know, that's just what it was.
- 25:16Speaker 3: If it wasn't like a disclaimer, every Syclock comic like
- 25:19Speaker 3: contain it contains yellow face, and.
- 25:25Speaker 1: That's just okay.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Now, this comment came up today and I guess we
- 25:28Speaker 2: need to address it right now, because someone was like,
- 25:30Speaker 2: it's not you know, they felt it was disingenuous to
- 25:32Speaker 2: call it yellow face because yellow face is someone, you know,
- 25:36Speaker 2: Caucasian descent, you see mocking Japanese culture. And I displained
- 25:40Speaker 2: to them that it doesn't always have to be mocking.
- 25:43Speaker 2: It's kind of like the same case as when the
- 25:45Speaker 2: punisher becomes black for a.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Few issues and immediately teams up with Luke Cage.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I mean, it's bad enough that he becomes black, but
- 25:53Speaker 2: the fact that you're like, oh, now he's black and.
- 25:55Speaker 1: He meets Luke Cage immediately is where it really just just.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Okay, y'all, why you know, this is what we call
- 26:01Speaker 2: black face whatever.
- 26:02Speaker 1: It's just whether you want to call yellow face whatever.
- 26:05Speaker 1: It was wild out like Chris.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Claron right, Like, yeah, Chris Claremont has always been a
- 26:12Speaker 2: wild boy. He just got away with a lot of
- 26:14Speaker 2: things because he was the best selling that's been all yeah,
- 26:17Speaker 2: and the story he's all like I said, look up
- 26:21Speaker 2: Chris Claremont turning these two white people in the Native Americans.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I mean, for absolutely no reason. It's just like, no reasons,
- 26:28Speaker 2: some leader Native American and then effort, I'm going to
- 26:31Speaker 2: have him become sex slaves.
- 26:32Speaker 3: You know, that's the wildest part.
- 26:36Speaker 2: It's funny that that's the wildest part though, you know
- 26:39Speaker 2: it is. It is, don't get me wrong, but it's
- 26:42Speaker 2: just wild that you know, somebody somebody Native American. You know, no,
- 26:50Speaker 2: that's cool, but yeah, watch hold my beer on me,
- 26:52Speaker 2: Watch what I do next? And the panel when they
- 26:56Speaker 2: show back of FAM, it's like burden into my memory
- 27:00Speaker 2: because they're like, you know, in black leather, all these
- 27:03Speaker 2: ear rings, nose rings and you know, because you can't
- 27:05Speaker 2: do nipple rings and stuff. You know, it's just and
- 27:08Speaker 2: I think it's freezing cold and they're like shivering. You know,
- 27:11Speaker 2: they've just been out there fucking and stuff.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It's just like A told you.
- 27:15Speaker 3: It was just like, oh, look at these cool outfits.
- 27:18Speaker 1: A year old, we was like, look at these cool outfits.
- 27:20Speaker 2: But also you know, you know, my sexuality is being
- 27:24Speaker 2: formed right here folks like, yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 3: That's that's where Goblin Queen comes from.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Look, you know it was right down the line.
- 27:33Speaker 2: For me, it was you know, it was a straight
- 27:35Speaker 2: path through Chris Clarrmark comics where you know Mohawks Storm,
- 27:40Speaker 2: you know there's a line that's drawn and you know
- 27:44Speaker 2: Alien Terminator or two.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You know, like, yeah, now, I will say because you
- 27:50Speaker 3: know people love to say, like, why don't I just
- 27:53Speaker 3: appreciate it and enjoy Sidelock?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Was that girl?
- 27:57Speaker 3: An episode? Was that the way from the moment she
- 28:03Speaker 3: jumped off that roof and landed on that car in Brazil,
- 28:06Speaker 3: and like the way they're showcasing her fighting and her
- 28:09Speaker 3: power is like, I am, I'm locked in first, I lock.
- 28:12Speaker 3: I've always liked Sielock, but I was like, okay, y'all
- 28:15Speaker 3: doing her right at least fighting wise, action wise, like
- 28:19Speaker 3: showing her powers with the psychic blades, her little butterfly
- 28:22Speaker 3: that always comes up. That was cool to see.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, all of that her ruthlessness.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I was definitely down for This was the X
- 28:32Speaker 2: Force that I love that I wish I'd been reading
- 28:35Speaker 2: as a kid, cause when I was a kid, it
- 28:36Speaker 2: was the same thing.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Ed Force was like, Oh, we're gonna kill everybody.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And then they killed nobody, you know, and then in
- 28:42Speaker 2: this one they dead up war immediately, I'm down for it.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Sorry you believe keep that crying to the side. Ain't
- 28:49Speaker 2: nobody got time for that over here, you know, we
- 28:51Speaker 2: are dealing with these fools, and no, I was down
- 28:54Speaker 2: for it. How did you feel about the Black cops of.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so X Factor showed up and I was just like, immediately,
- 29:06Speaker 3: it just reminded me of siliv in Oakland. There was
- 29:09Speaker 3: a time like a year ago or so where like
- 29:12Speaker 3: all the bulletin boards in Oakland were like join the
- 29:16Speaker 3: Oakland Police Department and it was all the only featured
- 29:21Speaker 3: offices of color. So that's just what it gave me.
- 29:25Speaker 3: It was like, Oh, come help support your community by
- 29:29Speaker 3: like fu boo policing like and I think like too,
- 29:36Speaker 3: it reminded me of the most recent X Factor. I
- 29:41Speaker 3: think it's like the from the Ashes one is kind
- 29:44Speaker 3: of similar, Like they're just they're just being uh what
- 29:49Speaker 3: did Cable said? Uncle Sam's like lap dogs, Like you know,
- 29:54Speaker 3: they're just they're just a face so that they can
- 29:56Speaker 3: say that they're supporting mutants. But like y'all are any
- 30:00Speaker 3: better than the than the regular humans that hey, y'all.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Did she call him Timus Cyclops or is that what
- 30:07Speaker 2: I make I think she said second rate.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Sydeclops side Clops and I love X Factor.
- 30:19Speaker 2: For those who haven't ever read it, there's a run
- 30:21Speaker 2: where they wear these This is the first when they
- 30:23Speaker 2: first debut the outfits that you've seen in this episode
- 30:26Speaker 2: by Peter David of X Factor.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That is just phenomenal.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Peter David, the Rest in Peace is one of my
- 30:33Speaker 2: favorite comic book writers of all time.
- 30:34Speaker 1: He did an incredible, incredible Hulk.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Run No pun intended, and then he did the all new,
- 30:40Speaker 2: all different X Factor with Larry Stroman, who's a black
- 30:43Speaker 2: artist or art and that is one of the others.
- 30:47Speaker 2: It's one of the funniest runs. It's all the way
- 30:51Speaker 2: out there. Stroman's art is super out there, so check
- 30:54Speaker 2: it out if you have a chance. And that's when
- 30:55Speaker 2: they first wear these problems that I've always loved. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 2: and also in that run, working with Al Cooper, they
- 31:01Speaker 2: are government. It's after it because it happens right after
- 31:04Speaker 2: the big I think that extinction agenda where like the
- 31:10Speaker 2: h men get all busted up himself, so they need
- 31:12Speaker 2: to you know, have a public face.
- 31:14Speaker 1: So that's when Ed Traffic goes to work for the government.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Okay, okay, yeah, and that the roster seems very similar
- 31:20Speaker 3: to that.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Oh, that is that roster is straight up front that run.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It is Havid Polaris strong Guy Wolf Spain and multiple
- 31:30Speaker 2: Man and multiple Man. Yeah, that is that run straight
- 31:33Speaker 2: up from that run. And he's the one who really
- 31:35Speaker 2: mates multiple Peter. David mates multiple Man in the character
- 31:38Speaker 2: where I think I think he does that mini series
- 31:41Speaker 2: of the series that Matt Drafts had as well, but
- 31:45Speaker 2: he makes him into like a real character in that run.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he shines in that run.
- 31:52Speaker 3: And so how are you feeling about Havoc?
- 31:55Speaker 2: I feel Look, I'm I'm a Summers, you know, the
- 31:59Speaker 2: whole family. Summer's Jeane everyone, you know, maddling, Havoc. Everybody
- 32:04Speaker 2: is just some of my favorite characters. But he's Timus Cyclops,
- 32:08Speaker 2: you know. And that's Jackie who he is. He's always
- 32:12Speaker 2: a sucker who's trying.
- 32:13Speaker 1: To do the like that's the problem with he.
- 32:17Speaker 2: It's funny when Tana be dogging, you know, you know,
- 32:20Speaker 2: shout out to Tatana, King Foreigners, you know, Queen of
- 32:24Speaker 2: the Foreigners family, she stayed dogging Cyclops and who she
- 32:29Speaker 2: needs to be dogging is Avid because who she thinaks
- 32:33Speaker 2: Cyclops is is who Avic actually is.
- 32:37Speaker 1: He's the silm side. Clops is not the silm.
- 32:41Speaker 3: I'm also a Cyclops hater, so I will wow. But
- 32:44Speaker 3: I will say, Jesus out of out of the two,
- 32:47Speaker 3: Havoc is Havoc is What.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Is the hate for Sydeclops? How can you hate the god?
- 32:54Speaker 3: Just it's just not for me. He's not for you know,
- 32:56Speaker 3: I respect what he does for the team and for
- 33:00Speaker 3: I will always for mutants, but it's just maybe it's
- 33:04Speaker 3: the corniness a little bit for me, Like he just
- 33:06Speaker 3: gives I think it's like similar to why I don't
- 33:09Speaker 3: like Superman. They just kind of both give Boy Scout energy.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I will say, Cyclops will get down and dirty more. Yes, well,
- 33:16Speaker 3: it's like if it's for the mutant, cause he's for it,
- 33:19Speaker 3: and that's why I will give him that respect. But
- 33:21Speaker 3: it's just he's never grabbed me as a character.
- 33:25Speaker 2: That like the someone asks, you know, name a Marvel
- 33:28Speaker 2: character without naming them on threats to the other day,
- 33:31Speaker 2: and I just put it my favorite Cyclops line, if
- 33:33Speaker 2: it needs if it doesn't need doing, then it will
- 33:36Speaker 2: be done. That's who Cyclops is to me. You know,
- 33:40Speaker 2: it's like get it done by any means necessary. That's
- 33:44Speaker 2: who he is. He's never been a boy scout to me.
- 33:46Speaker 2: He's always been quite ruthless, you know about it. You know,
- 33:50Speaker 2: a military man. That's I think because of my father
- 33:52Speaker 2: being military and all that. I think that's where I'm like, Okay,
- 33:55Speaker 2: I can I mess with that? Yeah, but I also
- 33:57Speaker 2: see how people you know, control a simp and so
- 34:00Speaker 2: and all that.
- 34:00Speaker 1: But really it's really heavy.
- 34:03Speaker 3: It definitely is. Really there are literal especially when it
- 34:07Speaker 3: comes to Maddling Price. Oh my god, because the actual
- 34:12Speaker 3: comic panels of them in all these various costumes, and
- 34:16Speaker 3: like Havoc will wear a collar and a leash for
- 34:19Speaker 3: that girl.
- 34:20Speaker 1: And this is like this ain't even a new development.
- 34:23Speaker 2: This is like forty years of this man being a
- 34:26Speaker 2: simp for his brother's wife, like.
- 34:28Speaker 3: His brother's wife's clothes. How sad is that? Talk about
- 34:34Speaker 3: t Moose Cyclops like your girl is your brother's wife's clone.
- 34:42Speaker 2: And you know that's funny too, because I remember when
- 34:44Speaker 2: they made him get back together recently and I was like,
- 34:46Speaker 2: what the hell? And then I'm like, wait, no, this
- 34:48Speaker 2: has always been the case, right, Yeah, this drove back.
- 34:50Speaker 1: To the original Fern. So anything else about this episode
- 34:55Speaker 1: that you wanted to mention.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Well, I do want to mention the other major member
- 35:00Speaker 3: of X Factor, Polaris. Like I was, I was good
- 35:03Speaker 3: with my girl her and I was glad to see
- 35:06Speaker 3: you know, even though she joined the ops, she still
- 35:09Speaker 3: got her daddy in her. And she was like, you
- 35:11Speaker 3: know what, you got to point jubilation, Like, I understand
- 35:15Speaker 3: what you are saying.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I can't lie. I just love Polaris with that big
- 35:20Speaker 2: green hair. That just, man, you know, does something for me.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And like you said, I love to see her, you
- 35:26Speaker 2: know always that's always her too, Like my man, you
- 35:30Speaker 2: know that's that's what.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I was saying.
- 35:33Speaker 3: I think that literally happened in the most recent X
- 35:36Speaker 3: Factor of what is Like she sees Havoc as part
- 35:38Speaker 3: of X Factor and it's like, eh, yeah, you're right
- 35:42Speaker 3: that what are you doing girl?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that whole interaction. I love seeing Jubilee shine.
- 35:48Speaker 2: I wasn't really a big fan of the music choice.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I wasn't a fan of that either.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, James Gunnish.
- 35:56Speaker 3: It did, but I really like getting to see that,
- 35:59Speaker 3: like Jubilee is more than just like sparklers and fireworks,
- 36:03Speaker 3: Like she finally has hands, you know, like fist fighting,
- 36:07Speaker 3: and I think, like to which I'm hoping to see,
- 36:10Speaker 3: like the way that they show the extent of Storm's power,
- 36:13Speaker 3: Like I would like to see the extent of Jubilee's power,
- 36:16Speaker 3: Like I remember in did you read I think it's
- 36:19Speaker 3: called Executioners or something in the Kerkoha run where it's
- 36:23Speaker 3: like Jubilee X twenty three dazzler and boom boom, yes,
- 36:27Speaker 3: ye yes, literally it's like an atomic bomb, and I'm like, yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 3: I love to see more of that, Like she can
- 36:37Speaker 3: make those fireworks like really powerful and cool to see
- 36:40Speaker 3: her like fighting with them. When she had to like
- 36:43Speaker 3: kick herself off the wall by like blasting her fireworks
- 36:46Speaker 3: like like a jack. I was like that was cool
- 36:48Speaker 3: to see. And so it's nice to see her also
- 36:50Speaker 3: like come into her own because you know, she has
- 36:54Speaker 3: to grow up because her her eld isn't around anymore,
- 36:57Speaker 3: like all of her family is not there. She's got
- 37:00Speaker 3: to like she turned eighteen last season, and so now
- 37:03Speaker 3: she really has to become an adult, which is nice
- 37:05Speaker 3: to see for Jubilee.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I even love again when we talk about the opening,
- 37:10Speaker 2: that real quick shot of her training with silocks. Yes,
- 37:13Speaker 2: and she's blindfold I oh, that's so fired because it also,
- 37:18Speaker 2: you know, a called back to the comics when Jubilee
- 37:21Speaker 2: doesn't she become a ninja at one point, I know,
- 37:23Speaker 2: she becomes a vampire.
- 37:24Speaker 3: She has a vampire. She she does some weird stuff
- 37:27Speaker 3: to comment.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Look, this is comics, folks, you know. I mean she
- 37:30Speaker 2: was like a vampire mother.
- 37:32Speaker 3: She was a vampire. I hated when she got that baby.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I was like, but doesn't she have like a baby
- 37:36Speaker 1: turned into a dragon.
- 37:37Speaker 3: And yes, yes, that's like not her baby.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I just I didn't I thought it was her baby.
- 37:43Speaker 1: See I didn't even know.
- 37:44Speaker 3: No, it's like not her like blood, like she didn't
- 37:47Speaker 3: birth that baby. Yeah, okay, she just wants you to go,
- 37:49Speaker 3: that's gonna be my baby.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Comics, everybody, you know, That's all. It's all he could say.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Right here.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Comics everybody, right right, especially X Men comics, they do.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Some wild I mean I already told y'all.
- 38:05Speaker 2: See you didn't even know about that, man, I'm telling
- 38:08Speaker 2: you I might mad to do Top five Weirdest Chris
- 38:11Speaker 2: Claire mock moments because there's a lot of them.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Yes, yes, Oh. The only other thing I say about two,
- 38:19Speaker 3: I want to see more Emma Frost. I almost forgot
- 38:25Speaker 3: And I've been seeing people are like, oh, like Emma
- 38:29Speaker 3: sold them out, blah blah blah blah blah, and I'm
- 38:32Speaker 3: kind of like, look, you need to understand who Emma is. One,
- 38:36Speaker 3: She's always going to be about that bag. But two, like,
- 38:40Speaker 3: and I think I think this is what I like,
- 38:42Speaker 3: would like to see more of later. Is I remember
- 38:46Speaker 3: in New X Men the scene when Emma arises from
- 38:49Speaker 3: the ashes of Genosha and she's holding that like dead
- 38:53Speaker 3: girl mutant, Like Emma always loves the kids and so
- 38:56Speaker 3: like maybe she sient Xpactor to get exports because she
- 39:01Speaker 3: knew exports would free all the kids that X Factor
- 39:03Speaker 3: has kidding, and so like I want to see them unpacked, Like, yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 3: Emma always is going to have this like tough diamond
- 39:11Speaker 3: exterior where she knows she acts like she doesn't care,
- 39:14Speaker 3: but like she is traumatized, like that girl survived a
- 39:18Speaker 3: genocide on her people, and I would like to see
- 39:20Speaker 3: them unpack that like I remember, and I think it's
- 39:23Speaker 3: a moral X Men. There's like that panel of her
- 39:25Speaker 3: she sleeps in her diamond form, because like that's how
- 39:27Speaker 3: she feels safe from all the stuff that she's experienced,
- 39:30Speaker 3: and so I just like I would like them to
- 39:32Speaker 3: explore that other side, Like, yeah, she's always going to
- 39:34Speaker 3: be this bad bitch that with her fake British accent,
- 39:37Speaker 3: being snarky and sassy, but like she also has feelings
- 39:41Speaker 3: and there's like some complex pieces that would be cool
- 39:43Speaker 3: to see.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It really would be I mean, I would love just
- 39:46Speaker 2: to see a whole episode from Emma. Yes, but I
- 39:49Speaker 2: don't know ify have time or all that, but that
- 39:51Speaker 2: would be fantastic if we could get that episode where
- 39:54Speaker 2: you see that where we see the Janosha and everything
- 39:57Speaker 2: she does after it and all that type of things.
- 40:00Speaker 2: And like you said, she's one of my favorite characters,
- 40:02Speaker 2: and a lot of it came from the New X
- 40:05Speaker 2: Men run when Morrison comes in and just redefines her.
- 40:08Speaker 2: As much as I love Scott and Jean and I
- 40:11Speaker 2: feel like they are, you know, meant for each other,
- 40:13Speaker 2: Scott and Emma are also really dope to me, and
- 40:17Speaker 2: that was one of my favorite couples. But I also
- 40:20Speaker 2: like to see Emma by herself, So I'm happy that
- 40:22Speaker 2: they're not, you know, tying her down to Stott in
- 40:26Speaker 2: this series, but I would like to see a lot
- 40:29Speaker 2: more of her, And I hope that people aren't taking
- 40:32Speaker 2: that that she betrayed them, because that's I didn't read
- 40:34Speaker 2: it at all that either.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I read it like you said. One, she brought them together.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Oh, they're gonna fight, like you see she literally says yawn, yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 2: you know when they start fighting, like because she knows
- 40:44Speaker 2: that this is what they're gonna do and then eventually
- 40:47Speaker 2: to work it out and the right thing will happen.
- 40:49Speaker 1: And that's how I tooke it.
- 40:50Speaker 2: So no, thank you for mentioning that, because I definitely
- 40:54Speaker 2: wanted to mention Emma, because Emma frost Man just one
- 40:57Speaker 2: of my favorite characters, like man, just the best of her.
- 41:02Speaker 1: All right.
- 41:03Speaker 2: One more three yes, Rise of Apocalypse Part one, which
- 41:08Speaker 2: leaves us on the big cliffhanger as White Rama.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Tut as White King.
- 41:17Speaker 1: All right. For those that.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Don't know real quick, Rama Tut, who we see in
- 41:20Speaker 2: this episode in the comic books.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Is another version of King.
- 41:25Speaker 2: King has many identities as he travels throughout time and
- 41:29Speaker 2: at one point he goes back to the past and
- 41:31Speaker 2: assumes the identity of an Egyptian pharaoh so he can.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Rule over everyone.
- 41:35Speaker 2: And so the dude we see in this episode is
- 41:39Speaker 2: probably King, who also becomes im Mortis, uh.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Iron Lad and King, right, I think that's all of them.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Then what's the he who remains?
- 41:50Speaker 2: He who remains the other guy from the second season
- 41:56Speaker 2: of Loki.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but in this one arcade is kind of white and.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Uh it's interesting seeing him, you know, the white Egyptian
- 42:06Speaker 2: in front of all these brown Egyptians.
- 42:08Speaker 1: But you know, yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 2: So this episode is about the X Men team who
- 42:14Speaker 2: got sent back to the past to hopefully try and
- 42:18Speaker 2: stop in Sabneur Apocalypse before he becomes Apocalypse. And hopefully
- 42:23Speaker 2: that's their plan, is to somehow stop him from becoming Apocalypse.
- 42:27Speaker 3: This team is Charles Magneto, Nightcrawler, Rogue, and Beast.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Yes, du Beast, that's the the Beast.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I didn't realize it was Dub East,
- 42:38Speaker 2: but you know, that's how he's listening to dub Beast.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:41Speaker 2: So they're back in the past and this episode a
- 42:45Speaker 2: lot of it is like a philosophical discussion between and Magneto,
- 42:50Speaker 2: which I found really dope.
- 42:52Speaker 1: A lot of the dialogue, you know, a lot.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Of that felt very black, very you know, coded in
- 43:00Speaker 2: the oppressor talk. Magnito telling him that, you know, how
- 43:04Speaker 2: the oppressor wants to see you is weak, and you know,
- 43:06Speaker 2: all this type of stuff was very beautiful, you know. Yeah,
- 43:11Speaker 2: I felt boue to my own team's you know, hands
- 43:14Speaker 2: all over this one.
- 43:15Speaker 3: So and so is Magneto still right?
- 43:17Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean as always.
- 43:21Speaker 2: You know, I think you can still get these shirts
- 43:23Speaker 2: that we're rocking right now on four nerds dot com.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Make sure you go pick that up. Why you can, I'm.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Not sure if you can, but you know, if you can,
- 43:30Speaker 2: the silver or Magneto is right available on foll nerds
- 43:33Speaker 2: dot com. You enjoy both rocking, go get you one
- 43:36Speaker 2: asap rocking. So, yeah, Magneto is still right.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You know. Charles, you know, and him have this discussion
- 43:43Speaker 1: where I.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Don't know what what Charles's point was other than just
- 43:47Speaker 2: being a hater real, I don't really.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Charles was like, so, your plan is to change
- 43:55Speaker 3: Apocalypse's mind so that instead of being a tyrant, he
- 43:59Speaker 3: becomes a champion for my vision, my dream.
- 44:03Speaker 2: You know, yes, yes, it doesn't that sound like a
- 44:08Speaker 2: good ass plan?
- 44:09Speaker 3: I guess. I was like, so, I was trying to
- 44:12Speaker 3: think about it and like our contexts, and it's like, so,
- 44:17Speaker 3: would this be like if someone went back in time
- 44:20Speaker 3: to try to change like Hitler's mind or something. Yes,
- 44:24Speaker 3: would we feel the same way in that context?
- 44:28Speaker 2: I mean, okay, let me put into the context that
- 44:31Speaker 2: I can you know, person relate to if you were like,
- 44:34Speaker 2: go back in time and stop people from going Africa
- 44:37Speaker 2: and slaving everyone.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Okay, yes, yes, yes, nigga.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yes, like if stay your asses in the caves and
- 44:43Speaker 2: you know, stop fucking with black people.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Yes, yes, that is true.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Yes, yes, nigga, do it man Needo do that shit
- 44:52Speaker 1: like oh, Ben, you won't exist, but your parents won't
- 44:56Speaker 1: be Oh well, you know, like.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I gotta be sacrificed for you know, the
- 45:03Speaker 2: millions of Africans and you know, trillions right to be free.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Like yeah, yeah, and I won't even know, you know,
- 45:11Speaker 2: time changes, poop, I'm wiped off the you know distance.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Maybe I still just in another timeline.
- 45:17Speaker 3: That alternate version of you. Yeah, and then you know
- 45:20Speaker 3: I'm me cstral trauma.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Like right now, we're in that, you know, we are
- 45:24Speaker 2: that alternate version, and someone's already fixed the main timeline,
- 45:28Speaker 2: and unfortunately I'm just stuck in this one.
- 45:30Speaker 3: We're stuck in days of the future past.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Yes, you know, I'm happy it happened, and there's a
- 45:38Speaker 2: timeline out there where there's no slavery.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, that's beautiful thing.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah. It was interesting that, Like it was
- 45:46Speaker 3: cool to see Magneto like not trying to be trying
- 45:49Speaker 3: to be like, don't don't kill him, Like, we gotta
- 45:52Speaker 3: be better. So it was cool to see the like
- 45:54Speaker 3: how the things from last season like still are having
- 45:57Speaker 3: an impact on him and how what is it What
- 46:00Speaker 3: does he say last season, I am trying to be better.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Don't let me make you down.
- 46:07Speaker 2: And don't let me don't let me, don't let me
- 46:10Speaker 2: let you down, let me let yeah, don't or don't
- 46:14Speaker 2: make me let you down.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Yeah, one or the other.
- 46:16Speaker 2: But but yeah, And so in this one, he's actually
- 46:19Speaker 2: trying to save the dude who's serving rama Tuck, right, yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 2: because he doesn't want to go down that path that
- 46:28Speaker 2: he was going down last season.
- 46:31Speaker 1: But it seems like that path is following him no
- 46:33Speaker 1: matter what.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Because dude's head does get chopped off, the blood gets
- 46:39Speaker 2: splattered off, Magneto and Rama Tuck fires down the beam
- 46:43Speaker 2: to finish up the episode. Yes, Apocalypse seems like he's
- 46:48Speaker 2: not gonna be down with anything Mannito has to say
- 46:51Speaker 2: at this point, so that mission has failed and.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Converting hives on the scene to help out the crew.
- 46:59Speaker 2: So this seems like one of those things where by
- 47:03Speaker 2: trying not to do it, they are doing it. They
- 47:05Speaker 2: are creating apocalypse by trying not to create Apocalypse, Right
- 47:10Speaker 2: am I reading this right?
- 47:12Speaker 1: Yeah? No?
- 47:13Speaker 3: I think that's what Like it kind of makes me think,
- 47:16Speaker 3: and it'd always talks about this before, like is is
- 47:20Speaker 3: ens becoming Apocalypse a canon event, Like no matter what
- 47:24Speaker 3: you do, it's always going to happen.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yes, I think that's what they're saying here, is that
- 47:31Speaker 2: is doing to always be Apocalypse?
- 47:33Speaker 3: Yes, because even in the first episode there's a lot
- 47:36Speaker 3: of discussion between Mother Askani and Cyclops about like destiny
- 47:41Speaker 3: and like can't you can do all you can, but
- 47:44Speaker 3: you can't change your fate or like you can't exactly
- 47:47Speaker 3: alter the way of time the way you want it to,
- 47:50Speaker 3: Like it's always going to happen the way it's supposed
- 47:53Speaker 3: to m.
- 47:54Speaker 2: And that's interesting. Like I've always like the thought experiment
- 47:59Speaker 2: I started doing is little kid was like, Okay, if
- 48:02Speaker 2: you're a standing on the street corner and you decide
- 48:04Speaker 2: to go left to right, that could change your life
- 48:06Speaker 2: in measurable ways, but you can only choose one of them,
- 48:12Speaker 2: and no matter how long you sit there, and if
- 48:14Speaker 2: you sit there thinking over it, that's also changing your
- 48:17Speaker 2: life in ways that you can't contemplate or understand. But
- 48:21Speaker 2: someone who's like looking at it from an outside perspective,
- 48:25Speaker 2: like a god or like they say, a four dimensional
- 48:27Speaker 2: being who can see the way your paths lean out
- 48:31Speaker 2: or see that we are. To them, we are faded
- 48:34Speaker 2: like to then we're reading, you know, like when we
- 48:37Speaker 2: read a book and we read a story, you can
- 48:39Speaker 2: flip from beginning to end, but the ending is still
- 48:42Speaker 2: the ending. But it's because we can't see the past.
- 48:45Speaker 2: We think that we have choice and all this kind
- 48:48Speaker 2: of stuff. So it's kind of like it's a debate
- 48:50Speaker 2: from what It's more like, whatever your perspective is is
- 48:53Speaker 2: what makes it whether you have choice or not. Right,
- 48:56Speaker 2: Like I believe we do have choice but I believe
- 48:59Speaker 2: that our choices are also faded.
- 49:02Speaker 3: So like the destination doesn't change, but the journeys can
- 49:05Speaker 3: change depending on how you choose to move.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I think our life is about experiencing the journey. You know.
- 49:12Speaker 2: It's like we don't really know what the journey's going
- 49:15Speaker 2: to be. You know, it's like you're just trying to
- 49:17Speaker 2: accept the journey kind of as it comes.
- 49:19Speaker 1: See, because like I.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Said, you can sit there and choose left or right,
- 49:22Speaker 2: you know this and all these things, but that doesn't change.
- 49:25Speaker 2: You know, certain things are going to happen to you
- 49:27Speaker 2: no matter which way you go in life. You know,
- 49:29Speaker 2: things like you might get sick, you might, you know,
- 49:32Speaker 2: be healthy, you might just all these type of things
- 49:35Speaker 2: that no matter what you do, are going to happen,
- 49:38Speaker 2: you know, and it's how you effectively, how you react
- 49:41Speaker 2: to them is pretty much how I've always seen life,
- 49:44Speaker 2: because I've definitely had some random ass things happen to
- 49:47Speaker 2: me where it's more like, Okay, am I gonna you know,
- 49:50Speaker 2: crumple and die from this?
- 49:52Speaker 1: Or am I gonna you know, grow stronger and move forward?
- 49:54Speaker 3: So yeah, which that does kind of make me feel
- 49:57Speaker 3: like mother Askani was kind of end up contradicting herself
- 50:01Speaker 3: because if she believes in these fates and destinies, why
- 50:05Speaker 3: did you bother bringing like putting the X Men into
- 50:09Speaker 3: these into these time periods if you believe in yourself
- 50:13Speaker 3: that like, no matter what happens, your destiny is your destiny. Like,
- 50:16Speaker 3: how is putting them into these places to quote unquote
- 50:19Speaker 3: intervene going to change people's destinies?
- 50:22Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 50:24Speaker 2: And that's like, like I said, I believe that we
- 50:27Speaker 2: are fated, but I don't believe that that means I
- 50:29Speaker 2: don't live and I don't try and do things.
- 50:32Speaker 1: You know.
- 50:33Speaker 2: It's like, because I also know that we you also
- 50:37Speaker 2: create your fate in a way, like I could sit
- 50:39Speaker 2: in this room and do nothing. Now that would now
- 50:43Speaker 2: like once again, if I was God, I would be like, well,
- 50:45Speaker 2: I knew you were gonna sit in this room and
- 50:46Speaker 2: do nothing from the beginning.
- 50:48Speaker 1: You know.
- 50:49Speaker 2: That's you know, I saw that from the jump, fam
- 50:52Speaker 2: you know. But to me, it's like I'm making this decision,
- 50:54Speaker 2: you know. But to someone on the outside looking in,
- 50:57Speaker 2: they're gonna see it. But I can also choose to
- 50:59Speaker 2: do whatever I want and achieve whatever I want.
- 51:01Speaker 1: And live my life.
- 51:02Speaker 2: And so I think in that way it is, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 2: we do have choice. And I think that's the way
- 51:07Speaker 2: mother astroning season too. I don't think she thinks that.
- 51:11Speaker 2: And once then it goes back to Terminator, like Terminator
- 51:14Speaker 2: in Terminator two, that's what they say, like, our fate
- 51:16Speaker 2: is not sealed, you know, the future is not set.
- 51:20Speaker 2: That's what they're battling it gainst. Even though they've seen
- 51:23Speaker 2: things from the future, they believe that you can't change it.
- 51:26Speaker 1: And in the.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Book and in the original script of the Terminator, they
- 51:30Speaker 2: do change it. You know, Terminator Too is the end
- 51:32Speaker 2: when they you know, melt down to Terminator everything the
- 51:35Speaker 2: future changed, there's no striying it. Yeah, but then money
- 51:39Speaker 2: had to be made and they're like, yeah, you know,
- 51:41Speaker 2: keep this going one way to the other.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Let's let's figure out how we can still make this cash.
- 51:46Speaker 2: But in the original script for Terminator two, that was
- 51:49Speaker 2: the end of it, and the future is changed. And
- 51:51Speaker 2: so that's what I do believe too. I believe that
- 51:53Speaker 2: we can change the future that it is. You know,
- 51:56Speaker 2: nothing's set, that our choices do matter, that you know,
- 51:59Speaker 2: we're here for a reason, but we also just can't
- 52:04Speaker 2: see that over thing that you know, if we could,
- 52:08Speaker 2: we might not view it, that we might be like, oh,
- 52:10Speaker 2: everything's set in stone.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's that's a good point.
- 52:14Speaker 1: It's one of.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Those weird, you know, conundrums about bought in life and
- 52:19Speaker 2: existence and everything that you know, it's just very weird
- 52:22Speaker 2: because I do believe that everything happens for a reason
- 52:24Speaker 2: and that this is all moving clockwork, you know, in
- 52:27Speaker 2: a way that we can't fathom.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Yes, life is a balance of our choices in the universe.
- 52:35Speaker 1: That's a good way of seeing it. Yeah, yes.
- 52:38Speaker 3: And so speaking of the future, what do you think
- 52:40Speaker 3: you have any predictions for Man the rest of the season.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I mean, the ship's moving just like last season, did
- 52:47Speaker 1: you know.
- 52:47Speaker 2: It moves so fast that I really feel I have
- 52:50Speaker 2: no idea what they're going to get to.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I was thinking about it, Man, and it's just like.
- 52:55Speaker 2: There's so many possibilities because there's so much X men, Like,
- 52:58Speaker 2: I know we're gonna see I don't know why, but
- 53:01Speaker 2: I know we're going to see the Grant Morrison.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Black and yellow costumes in good season. We're gonna know
- 53:07Speaker 1: because we're going to see Exodus y.
- 53:09Speaker 3: In the and we saw Exodus actually last season yep,
- 53:13Speaker 3: in Genosha. So I think it'll be interesting to see
- 53:16Speaker 3: how they tie in his experience in Genosha to what
- 53:19Speaker 3: he's doing in this season.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Because men who because this is like the first time
- 53:22Speaker 2: we're seeing Exodus, right.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Yes, and he's like Apocalypse's number one fan.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Right and then okay it see it's like with Apocalypse
- 53:33Speaker 2: being you know, the big villain or whatever of this season,
- 53:38Speaker 2: does that mean we're going to get any hints to Krakoa, Like, oh,
- 53:43Speaker 2: you know, I was talking to Tie the Robot you
- 53:46Speaker 2: know four Onnards Family and they said, no chance, you know,
- 53:51Speaker 2: never in this show.
- 53:54Speaker 1: And I was like, why not? You know, like and
- 53:57Speaker 1: how could you like if this show goes on for
- 53:59Speaker 1: five seasons?
- 54:01Speaker 2: And you know, the head of Disney whoever it is
- 54:03Speaker 2: right now, has said they wanted this show to come.
- 54:06Speaker 1: Out every year.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Every year.
- 54:08Speaker 2: It wanted this to be a perennial. Every year we
- 54:11Speaker 2: get a new season of X ninety seven. Yeah, along
- 54:14Speaker 2: with the Spider Man Joint and I think dared Avore.
- 54:16Speaker 2: They said those three they want to run until they
- 54:19Speaker 2: can't anymore.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Okay, I mean with X Men, they have plenty plenty
- 54:24Speaker 3: so much.
- 54:24Speaker 2: But there's like so why And then I was like, Okay,
- 54:27Speaker 2: the two things that I was thinking about. I was
- 54:29Speaker 2: hoping for was some hint of Cocoa and if we
- 54:33Speaker 2: don't get that, because I still feel like that could
- 54:35Speaker 2: be a few seasons away Cyclops in the X Mask,
- 54:39Speaker 2: you know, Cyclops.
- 54:41Speaker 1: In the full on you know, new and rebellion leader.
- 54:46Speaker 3: Mass like I mean, I will say there was because
- 54:51Speaker 3: I actually enjoyed this little like mini series. But there
- 54:54Speaker 3: was like an X Men ninety seven run where they
- 54:57Speaker 3: put the X Men animated series yep, and I thought
- 55:01Speaker 3: that was really cool because you can see like the
- 55:04Speaker 3: parallels and like who from the animated series takes on
- 55:08Speaker 3: rolls that like are different in the like I guess
- 55:11Speaker 3: main crocoa Ru and so like they have something right
- 55:15Speaker 3: there where there you easily use that to adapt X
- 55:19Speaker 3: Men ninety seven into Cocoa. It's going to be a
- 55:22Speaker 3: while away, like, yeah, we're not in a space where
- 55:26Speaker 3: everyone's going to be holding hands with apocalypse and being
- 55:29Speaker 3: like no later.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but like that history, you know, because that you know,
- 55:35Speaker 2: to maybe show a flashback, you know, just a quick
- 55:39Speaker 2: hint to show, you know, the land when it was
- 55:41Speaker 2: old before it was old, you know that.
- 55:43Speaker 3: Because that is the one thing that I would love
- 55:45Speaker 3: to see if they do KCOA is Apocalypse's backstory, and yes, Arocco,
- 55:51Speaker 3: like I would. I want to see Genesis. I want
- 55:54Speaker 3: to see their ye like batties all around.
- 55:59Speaker 2: Around and it's a Apocalypse like you know, when he's
- 56:02Speaker 2: talking to the island and everything. Just who he becomes
- 56:06Speaker 2: in that series, just the majestic king, you know, but.
- 56:09Speaker 3: This is his co Cohen name that he was like,
- 56:13Speaker 3: oh my real name isn't fit for you to utter?
- 56:19Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I want to see, So yeah, all right,
- 56:25Speaker 2: anything else before we get out of here.
- 56:28Speaker 1: There was a lot of comments.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Thank you to everybody who's been in here on the
- 56:35Speaker 2: live Twitch watching us right now. Shout out to Joseph
- 56:38Speaker 2: Silent Silent Artist, good food mail. Can you guys just
- 56:44Speaker 2: watch the two thousand movie on loot? No need for
- 56:47Speaker 2: this ninety seven shit him see his processed slop?
- 56:52Speaker 1: Nah?
- 56:55Speaker 3: Now, I actually have the two thousand movie playing in
- 56:58Speaker 3: the background because I was just running X Man in
- 57:00Speaker 3: the background and that's but Mike, why can't I have both? Yeah?
- 57:07Speaker 2: Was processed slopped? This is some of the best animation ever. Said, y'all,
- 57:11Speaker 2: y'all gotta stop with these with these little phrase words
- 57:15Speaker 2: and code words and ship man. Y'all, y'all just sounds
- 57:17Speaker 2: so silly, like this is not Ai slop.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Anyway, yeah, yeah, the artist said, this is wishful thinking.
- 57:32Speaker 2: But do you think we could get doctor Voodoo in this?
- 57:35Speaker 2: Who's doctor Voodoo? I know, brother Voodoo? Is that the same?
- 57:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 57:39Speaker 3: I know, brother Voodoo? Okay, all right, all right, midnight
- 57:43Speaker 3: in DC.
- 57:45Speaker 2: And then who's that who's that weird ass doctor who
- 57:48Speaker 2: they had and Cocoa who had the mushrooms going on
- 57:52Speaker 2: his head?
- 57:53Speaker 3: Oh, I don't remember his name.
- 57:57Speaker 1: I remember his name either, but I don't think it's Voodoo.
- 57:59Speaker 1: But that's the doctor I think when I think of
- 58:01Speaker 1: the h men.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Okay, I was thinking of his his, his, their main
- 58:06Speaker 3: medic doctor, doctor Cecilia. Yes, yes, I would like to
- 58:11Speaker 3: see her show up. I would actually like to see
- 58:13Speaker 3: the rest of the new mutants show up like I
- 58:17Speaker 3: know that we saw in the trailer, Like it looks
- 58:19Speaker 3: like Colossus finds magic. Hopefully we don't get racist magics,
- 58:29Speaker 3: overly aggressively racist magic.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Somebody in the writers room was like, what do you
- 58:39Speaker 2: know about Russians. I've heard the racist Just the funny
- 58:46Speaker 2: thing is, i've heard the Russians can't be wildly racist too.
- 58:49Speaker 1: But you know, I did not expect that to be
- 58:52Speaker 1: for one.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Character trait character that finding character defining character trait that
- 58:58Speaker 2: I loved. I would love to see it, I mean
- 59:00Speaker 2: the rest of them. But it does seem like Magic
- 59:04Speaker 2: is somebody who called a bad one in Jenosha. So yeah,
- 59:11Speaker 2: it does not. I mean, you don't want.
- 59:14Speaker 1: To see Doug. Yes, Jesus right, what they've done to
- 59:17Speaker 1: Doug in the comics right now.
- 59:19Speaker 3: It's just I had to stop because I was like,
- 59:22Speaker 3: what is going on?
- 59:25Speaker 2: Holy shit, that's some like look, hey, I you know,
- 59:29Speaker 2: I'm hey, you know, somebody's great idea.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna leave it alone.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Somebody had that idea and they were, you know, say hey, blessed,
- 59:37Speaker 2: see you just working out and bring back you know,
- 59:39Speaker 2: my Doug Ramsey and my Warlock and I'll be happy.
- 59:43Speaker 1: And Warlock has been in this already.
- 59:44Speaker 2: So Warlot's already because yeah, when I rewatched original, Warlock
- 59:49Speaker 2: showed up in it. I don't think Doug ever did.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Warlock did some of the other new units definitely did.
- 59:54Speaker 2: I'd love to see them. I mean, it's just there's
- 59:56Speaker 2: so much am.
- 59:58Speaker 3: I and Danny are like those are some of my
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: favorite new Mutants and I would just love to see
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: both of them show up. Like Karma's a little queer icon,
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: like Danny is just the Danny I love Danny.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Danny is like you know, like I said, I
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: grew up on strong, tough women, and Danny had another.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: One, Like they got like a cute little demon bear special,
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Like I would love that.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: It's just they've opened up the doors and there's so
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: much they can do with this. I'm really mad that
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: they're not giving us more, not just more seasons, but
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: more shows.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I'm like, come on, like where is
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: the new Mutant show? Where is this show? Where is that?
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: But and the thing is they've showed so many like
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: we didn't talk about, but there was like all the
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: cameos of like Monett, Quentin, all of them and so
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: and we saw that like Silock was Lokia cameo last
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: season because that's what Morph turned into. So like just
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: because they're a cameo one season doesn't mean they can't
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: be like a main or regular in the next season.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: So it's cool to see that. Like they're expanding some
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: of the people that they showed us glimpses of from
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: the first season.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and they've always done that. Well, that
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: was another one real quick. I just love ar Chandral
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: calling them traders. Boy, that man was mad, but he's
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: stayed being mad too, because that goes back to the
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: original joint. He was so mad at Apocalypse all through
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: that and that's should be interesting to see, how you know,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: his reaction to Apocalypse coming back.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: In this season.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: We got a lot of drama ahead of us and
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: I love it. Yes, yes, so I think that's gonna
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: be it for this week. Thank you for joining us
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: at your boy, DJ Ben, I mean along time, my
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: brother Joel.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: We will be back with more X Men's ninety seven's
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: next week.

- 1:01:50Speaker 2: and Unfortunate Man.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: There's only ten episodes this season.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: Well, there are ten episodes last season, wasn't that.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I know. It's just not enough, man, It is not enough.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: It's not it's not But you know, if they commit
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: to this every year, oh that's enough.
