- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whistle Stocking fun
- 0:07Speaker 1: Bow and they whist so yes, but why didn't you
- 0:12Speaker 1: expect it's a podcasted whistles. Welcome and everybody should know
- 0:22Speaker 1: this episode. What do we do? Then we'll see you
- 0:28Speaker 1: next week everybody, and we're done. Well, we got a
- 0:31Speaker 1: slight renewal for five more episodes. Wow, so we're gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: continue on. Our agents will continue working. Good. But right
- 0:39Speaker 1: now we're five more episodes and twenty whistles. Let's go. Hey,
- 0:43Speaker 1: we better get what we want though, or else I'm out. Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 1: We're like the Friends cast. You know. I will only
- 0:48Speaker 1: take money if they think about paying you guys money.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Thank there we go, thank you. They did that, Joey,
- 0:53Speaker 1: Is that right? Well? No, they all took eat. They
- 0:55Speaker 1: made sure everybody got equal. I am just gonna make
- 0:57Speaker 1: sure they think about you. So okay, so we're not
- 0:59Speaker 1: doing my friends and think. Okay, but we're all gonna
- 1:02Speaker 1: be thinking about what a weekend though? Just in general?
- 1:07Speaker 1: What a what a weekend? Uh? Let's just go around
- 1:10Speaker 1: the room. Then you think about the weekend, all the
- 1:11Speaker 1: games that were playing at football, college or NFL. What
- 1:15Speaker 1: game comes to mind as your story of the weekend, Eddie,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I'll go to your first. Oh, the Cowboys over the Vikings.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I mean they thought it would be a six point game.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Seven point game. Guys, my local TV station just changed
- 1:28Speaker 1: the game to the Pittsburgh Game Network did that whatever.
- 1:33Speaker 1: They were like, Okay, no need to watch this game anymore.
- 1:35Speaker 1: This is a blowout. They almost never do that anymore
- 1:38Speaker 1: because of what happened with Heidi back in the day
- 1:41Speaker 1: when they cut out and went to you guys ever
- 1:42Speaker 1: see that. I think it was like in the seventies.
- 1:44Speaker 1: What happened. The game was out of hand, so they
- 1:45Speaker 1: went and went topside of Heidi in the late seventies,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and then one of the greatest comebacks in history of
- 1:51Speaker 1: sports happened, and everyone missed it, and they that's funny.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't remember what Hide isn't know she was a
- 1:57Speaker 1: girl and what she did, But so that kind of
- 2:00Speaker 1: was the rule that said it. There was also a
- 2:01Speaker 1: game yesterday where all the cameras went down except for one. Yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 1: New England game. Was that what it was? Yea? Because
- 2:06Speaker 1: there was like an eight minute delay to start the
- 2:08Speaker 1: game because of that, and then it was like, oh,
- 2:10Speaker 1: can we even have replay today. What's going on? I
- 2:12Speaker 1: saw it on Red Zone channel and they were like,
- 2:15Speaker 1: it's like the sixties. We have the game. That's funny.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Cowboys big win, Oh huge, I'm telling you, though a
- 2:27Speaker 1: little different than last Monday. Go ahead, Eddie. I don't
- 2:31Speaker 1: like how they switched the channel that the game though,
- 2:33Speaker 1: like I wanted to. I placed a bet that Tony
- 2:36Speaker 1: Pollard had to be over sixty five yards and when
- 2:39Speaker 1: they changed the channel, he was at fifty seven or something.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I'm like, what are we doing? Eddie's making last minute
- 2:45Speaker 1: live bets and they should not. There are a lot
- 2:47Speaker 1: of people looking for smiles, so you can't just get
- 2:49Speaker 1: rid of the game. And I couldn't go to uh
- 2:51Speaker 1: the ticket because that was blocked. So I literally couldn't
- 2:54Speaker 1: watch the game with local because we have it's showing
- 2:58Speaker 1: on you. If it's supposed to show on your local channel,
- 3:00Speaker 1: they can't do it on Sunday ticket. I still don't
- 3:03Speaker 1: have Sunday ticket. We need to get you Sunday ticket.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I watched Red Zone. Don't don't buy it. Don't buy it? No,
- 3:08Speaker 1: but's you get it to me for Christmas. It's gonna
- 3:09Speaker 1: be Christmas, and season's over. Don't worry about it. He
- 3:12Speaker 1: wants to get it me for a dollar. That's it
- 3:13Speaker 1: will be one dollar sale on Black Friday. Because games
- 3:16Speaker 1: left Kevin. Game of the weekend, it has to be
- 3:19Speaker 1: the Patriots. I was everybody's going because that is the
- 3:24Speaker 1: epitome of being a fan. For three hours, I sat
- 3:27Speaker 1: there screaming at my TV. What the hell are we doing?
- 3:31Speaker 1: How can we not do anything? Zach Wilson is bad
- 3:33Speaker 1: Mac Jones. He looked okay, just offense, was awful game,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and then before you know it, a walk off put
- 3:39Speaker 1: return and I was screaming. So the ultimate load to
- 3:42Speaker 1: the ultimate high watching that live as it happened, and
- 3:46Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, well what three three is what it was?
- 3:49Speaker 1: It's gonna go be a terrible overtime game, all right,
- 3:52Speaker 1: god whoa, oh my god, oh oh no, oh. I
- 3:55Speaker 1: didn't care. I was like, I'd be so upset. Five
- 4:00Speaker 1: was slid on the Jets all that for. Defensively they
- 4:03Speaker 1: played them well and they give up a pump that okay, well,
- 4:08Speaker 1: if we're just doing personal games, then Arkansas whooped the
- 4:10Speaker 1: crap out of all Missy. I mean, it was like
- 4:12Speaker 1: the Cowboys game and the points at the end and
- 4:15Speaker 1: all the yards all missed got those are just garbage
- 4:16Speaker 1: time points and stats. They were like, oh, miss still
- 4:18Speaker 1: had two d rushers. Yeah, the game was over. So
- 4:22Speaker 1: we were just like, let's just sit back and you know,
- 4:24Speaker 1: play some semi pre event. But personally, there's a big,
- 4:28Speaker 1: big game now. If it comes to if I'm taking
- 4:30Speaker 1: all my bias out, TCU almost it's TCU and Tennessee
- 4:35Speaker 1: the two teas I think the college wise was are
- 4:38Speaker 1: the big games TCU almost lost, and as it's third
- 4:41Speaker 1: and whatever and they run it, I'm like, so then
- 4:46Speaker 1: they are like, Okay, boom, I thought, because because they
- 4:48Speaker 1: ran it, I thought, surely did I miss something they
- 4:51Speaker 1: have a time out and they didn't. And I'm like,
- 4:53Speaker 1: oh my god, this could be one of the biggest
- 4:55Speaker 1: bone hip player I've ever seen. It was ridiculous. They
- 4:56Speaker 1: rushed out no problems, boom, don't do good, no problem.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm like, how did they do that? And he said
- 5:01Speaker 1: they practice all the time to just run out there,
- 5:03Speaker 1: set up and kick. Okay, screw that, you practice. Where's
- 5:07Speaker 1: my whistle? You practice that? I didn't say anything, you disagree,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I'm talking about the coach. I practice that that's great,
- 5:14Speaker 1: but the kickers still stressed. Guys like, that's not fun
- 5:17Speaker 1: for the kicker to walk up there. I know it's
- 5:19Speaker 1: easy for everyone in line up, you know, get on
- 5:22Speaker 1: three points whatever and you're gonna just do that, But
- 5:24Speaker 1: the kicker sure practice five thousand times. That still sucks
- 5:27Speaker 1: for him. I'd like to blow the whistle. I think
- 5:29Speaker 1: it's actually easier on the kicker. Think about this. You
- 5:31Speaker 1: don't have to go out and get iced. You're you're moving.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's all active, so you're like, all right, here we go.
- 5:36Speaker 1: You're thinking about just running out there, getting set in
- 5:38Speaker 1: your spot. You're not walking out there slowly staring at it.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It's a time out. I think if I've never kicked,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I can't kick. Yeah, really, and they practice it. I
- 5:48Speaker 1: would think that because you don't have a lot of
- 5:49Speaker 1: time to focus on what might go wrong, and you're
- 5:51Speaker 1: focusing on you gotta get in the right place, it
- 5:53Speaker 1: probably takes a little pressure off of you, as only
- 5:55Speaker 1: the kicker. I guess you were stressed on the snapper,
- 5:59Speaker 1: but they act us out a lot, and I couldn't
- 6:02Speaker 1: believe they're in it. Oh here we go. Listen, listen.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Kickers have rooted, whatever routine things that like, they have
- 6:09Speaker 1: to look at it, put their hand up, line up.
- 6:11Speaker 1: There's things that go into kicking a field goal, going
- 6:14Speaker 1: up in less than five seconds, lining up and kicking it.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I do. I don't care who you are. You have
- 6:19Speaker 1: your rituals that you do when you need that. It's
- 6:21Speaker 1: not fair for the kicker. Okay, they've practiced that enough,
- 6:25Speaker 1: so the kicker has his own ritual even for that scenario.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But you say it's more stressful for the that would
- 6:29Speaker 1: say a quarterback and wide receivers. They all have their
- 6:33Speaker 1: situational different things. Like you mentioned the kicker doing rituals
- 6:38Speaker 1: that they all do. But if it's two minutes drill,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you don't get to do it all the same. You're
- 6:41Speaker 1: working quick or faster anyway, point as he nailed it,
- 6:45Speaker 1: it was awesome. How about TC oh, there's Kevin. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: did think the announcer brought up a good point though
- 6:53Speaker 1: he did say if you jump offsides or false start,
- 6:55Speaker 1: it's a ten second runout the games over the whole.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Another thing, I think, well, if you false start, jump offsides,
- 7:03Speaker 1: not because that'd be the defense defense, so the offense.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So yes, So it adds more pressure to everybody. Yes,
- 7:09Speaker 1: so if you if you move, it's game over. But
- 7:11Speaker 1: they know that they they wouldn't be defeated if they
- 7:15Speaker 1: weren't disciplined. Hey what what what's the chance of them
- 7:17Speaker 1: never practicing in the coach being like, all right, screwed up,
- 7:19Speaker 1: but I'm gonna make up that. We practice it all
- 7:21Speaker 1: the time. Not a team like that my high school team. Yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 1: not that team though. Um so they're undefeated. They will
- 7:29Speaker 1: now play I don't have schedule from the Iowa State
- 7:31Speaker 1: next week, possibly in the championship game. Now, college isn't
- 7:35Speaker 1: like the NFL or any week anybody. Every once in
- 7:38Speaker 1: a while you get one. We'll talk about that in
- 7:39Speaker 1: a minute, but I think they'll they'll probably put it
- 7:42Speaker 1: to Iowa State. And then who are they going to
- 7:43Speaker 1: play in the Big twelve championship because that Kansas State?
- 7:46Speaker 1: I don't know, because there's still another game. I don't
- 7:50Speaker 1: have you looked that up for me. Yeah, Kansas State
- 7:52Speaker 1: second right now? And they play well and then just
- 7:56Speaker 1: read me the top five there and are they gonna
- 7:58Speaker 1: have to go to tiebreakers for the second in whatever
- 8:00Speaker 1: that situation is? Kansas States six and two in confronting
- 8:05Speaker 1: three overall Texas five and three, seven and four Oklahoma State.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Then Baylor are bulled at four and four. Okay, so
- 8:12Speaker 1: Kansas State has to win. If they win, they're in
- 8:16Speaker 1: yes Texas. If they win in Kansas State loses, will
- 8:20Speaker 1: they be even? And then what's the head to head? There?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Texas one the head to head, so I would assume
- 8:26Speaker 1: they have the tiebreaker. Okay, So let me know the
- 8:28Speaker 1: schedule of those two teams. Then Kansas State is playing
- 8:31Speaker 1: who this week? They host Kansas this week, a rivalry game. Okay,
- 8:36Speaker 1: so there is a chance the Kansas can win that game. Yes,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and let's see what Texas. Yeah, but Texas also got
- 8:43Speaker 1: murdered two a couple of weeks, Texas been murdering and
- 8:46Speaker 1: then getting murdered. They host Baylor. Oh oh a spoiler. Well,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I mean Baylor could be Texas. It almost couldn't matter
- 8:56Speaker 1: if Texas wins, but also Kansas State wins, it doesn't matter.
- 9:00Speaker 1: What where it would get fun is if Kansas beast
- 9:04Speaker 1: Kansas State and Texas beats Baylor and there's a tie,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and then Texas goes into the championship and plays for
- 9:10Speaker 1: the Big twelve championship, especially at a season where they
- 9:12Speaker 1: wanted take Sark and beat him up behind the building.
- 9:16Speaker 1: He still plays with the big twelve championship. That would
- 9:18Speaker 1: be pretty funny, would be justice, except I don't know
- 9:20Speaker 1: what the justice is. But yeah, TCU survives, and so
- 9:25Speaker 1: they're still in it. Um Ohio State and Michigan. We're
- 9:28Speaker 1: both pressed a little bit. They were both pressed, and
- 9:32Speaker 1: I was rooting for both teams to lose, and then
- 9:35Speaker 1: once one of them won, I was for both of
- 9:37Speaker 1: them to win. I thought I'd been hilarious. They both
- 9:39Speaker 1: would have lost, and it's just Mayhem. I love Mayhem,
- 9:42Speaker 1: doesn't matter, it's not Ohio State of Michigan thing. Just
- 9:44Speaker 1: love Mayhem and so but they both want so that
- 9:47Speaker 1: sets up a massive matt two verses three playing for
- 9:50Speaker 1: the attorney get in for a national championship. I don't know,
- 9:54Speaker 1: maybe now that TCU are excusing, now that Tennessee the lost,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and I think there's an a little more of an
- 10:02Speaker 1: outsider shot that one of those teams get in as
- 10:05Speaker 1: a four, possibly with one loss, if it's a close game,
- 10:08Speaker 1: if it's like a really close game that everybody's like, oh,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you gotta turn the game on is getting right down
- 10:11Speaker 1: to it, like that good of a game. I think
- 10:13Speaker 1: there's an outside chance because you're gonna have even two
- 10:17Speaker 1: loss teams in the mix here, l s who's gonna
- 10:20Speaker 1: have to win the SC Championship. But it's just get
- 10:23Speaker 1: to the point where I don't know, does a TCU
- 10:26Speaker 1: if they end up losing in the Big twelve get
- 10:28Speaker 1: in over a one loss Big ten winner. It's just
- 10:33Speaker 1: a fun situation. And I love Mayhem. I don't have
- 10:36Speaker 1: the answer, but I love me. Who's better out of
- 10:38Speaker 1: those two in Michigan ohiuse State Ohio State. I think
- 10:40Speaker 1: is just because they look way faster and flash here,
- 10:44Speaker 1: but also that that could be my entire life of
- 10:46Speaker 1: watching those two teams play and making me bias I
- 10:49Speaker 1: can't and the fact that they have crazy I mean
- 10:52Speaker 1: Marvin Harrison Jr. It's awesome and he is all over
- 10:55Speaker 1: the place catching balls and C. J. Stroud is number
- 10:58Speaker 1: one or two in the Heisman, and so I'm like, well,
- 11:00Speaker 1: it's gotta be them. So I don't know, but I
- 11:03Speaker 1: would say I would State. And also because they beat
- 11:04Speaker 1: him every year except for one basically for a long time.
- 11:07Speaker 1: So I just think that. But I would like to
- 11:09Speaker 1: see Michigan win because I have Michigan in Michigan in
- 11:15Speaker 1: the pool. They did lose Corum the other day. I wonder.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I hope that's not serious. I hope we can play
- 11:19Speaker 1: this week. Yeah, speaking of people getting hurt, Hander Hooker
- 11:22Speaker 1: goes down, but Tennessee already lost the game before then, Hey, yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 1: hey what hey, yes, I told you Tennessee was gonna lose. Dude.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I think this is more power for coaches to come
- 11:38Speaker 1: on the show. I think, like, because you want Shane
- 11:40Speaker 1: Biemer and you're just like, dude, he's a buddy now
- 11:43Speaker 1: because he's been on this podcast. And I feel like
- 11:46Speaker 1: when people come on this podcast, they get a little
- 11:49Speaker 1: bit of extra luck. Good things happen when you come
- 11:51Speaker 1: on this little bit of extra luck. I did. I
- 11:54Speaker 1: thought South Carolina really had a shot. They were gritty enough,
- 11:57Speaker 1: Tennessee's defense could be vulnerable. And both those things happened.
- 12:04Speaker 1: And so you know, even when Brandon was on and
- 12:08Speaker 1: he's great and he was like, now no chance, I
- 12:09Speaker 1: was like, I don't know, man, this is it. But
- 12:12Speaker 1: I thought either Missouri or South Carolina would take it
- 12:14Speaker 1: to them. If I'm being honest, I thought I didn't
- 12:17Speaker 1: thought they had a loss out of those two games,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and everybody thought I was nutty. I was feeling it. Man.
- 12:22Speaker 1: They jumped up quick and I was like, oh my good.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And then Tennessee, Tennessee is moving, They're coming back, and
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm like, well, of course this is going to happen.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But starting the money line before the game started, so
- 12:31Speaker 1: I got smiles. That's a big smile. Dude smiles everywhere.
- 12:35Speaker 1: That's a big, big smiling right there. I told I've
- 12:37Speaker 1: been pretty forthcoming about what's happening here. And I took
- 12:42Speaker 1: out all my money if my Draft Kings account two
- 12:44Speaker 1: and a half weeks ago, and it was I don't
- 12:47Speaker 1: remember the exact amount, but I started with two d
- 12:49Speaker 1: then over a year, I got to be about the
- 12:50Speaker 1: three thousand. I got way up. It goes up and down.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I took out about three thousand bucks from that two hundred.
- 12:56Speaker 1: So then I started over again. And Edie saw this,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and ed he's been with me. I've been showing you.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I put two hundred in again two and a half
- 13:03Speaker 1: weeks ago. As of this morning, I'm at three thousand.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I mean that that's the dream. That's the dream, right there.
- 13:09Speaker 1: It's been pretty good. The only real bad luck of
- 13:14Speaker 1: run I had it was at Eddi's house and we're
- 13:15Speaker 1: betting on basketball. That was reckless, not about it. That
- 13:19Speaker 1: was just three game was on and we'd be just
- 13:20Speaker 1: flipped to it and go like Florida it was college
- 13:24Speaker 1: basking while we'd literally be like, all right, how about
- 13:26Speaker 1: this one? And the lines we're just talking and talking,
- 13:28Speaker 1: and so we were just like we just find a
- 13:30Speaker 1: game in the last four minutes of it and be like,
- 13:32Speaker 1: what's six? Why not? We were looking at other and
- 13:34Speaker 1: be like, hey, the live bet looks good, jump on it.
- 13:38Speaker 1: But that's awesome. I'm three thousand bucks from two dred
- 13:41Speaker 1: great Man, So I'm feeling pretty good about that. But
- 13:43Speaker 1: I'm not. If you're a Tennessee fan, you can't be
- 13:46Speaker 1: feeling good because it's over now and it's over over,
- 13:49Speaker 1: meaning you lost a quarterback too, and it almost it
- 13:52Speaker 1: almost feels fake to go to you, Kevin Sines fan,
- 13:54Speaker 1: because you're just such a poser big although it was
- 13:58Speaker 1: harding to you're talking about I love my balls, guys. No,
- 14:02Speaker 1: that was tough. Um, you know, we've had a long
- 14:05Speaker 1: run here, this plus ten weeks, this year. No, I
- 14:09Speaker 1: was like you that I was waiting for them just
- 14:11Speaker 1: to kind of come back, like okay in the score,
- 14:13Speaker 1: the score, but they just couldn't stop. I mean, six
- 14:14Speaker 1: hundred yards, six touchdowns. Rattler looked like that number one
- 14:17Speaker 1: overall pick. We thought he was gonna be a year
- 14:19Speaker 1: and a half ago. It was ugly both, you know,
- 14:22Speaker 1: on the field, every which way. It was a program
- 14:24Speaker 1: defining when for South Carolina. Obviously, big deal. Congrats the
- 14:29Speaker 1: game Cocks, congrats there will not be three teams in
- 14:33Speaker 1: the and the old attorney there he did part of
- 14:36Speaker 1: you wish that they would win just for that reason.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Oh no, okay, let me think about that. It's just
- 14:43Speaker 1: where I live right now, and being around all the
- 14:47Speaker 1: ball fans and who they were already debating who they
- 14:49Speaker 1: were gonna play in the National Championship Game, not even
- 14:51Speaker 1: first within the four teams, they were debating who would
- 14:54Speaker 1: be there for them in the National Championship Game. So
- 14:57Speaker 1: they've now lost two and they are out of it. Georgia.
- 15:00Speaker 1: There may just be one SEC team. It may go
- 15:02Speaker 1: from three to one. Real crazy just one week. Yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 1: I mean the scenario is going to be if because
- 15:09Speaker 1: USC b U c l a good game, Yeah, watch
- 15:11Speaker 1: a lot of it. If USC wents packed off now
- 15:14Speaker 1: they're in for if they lose a game, that makes
- 15:17Speaker 1: it interesting if l s U loses to Georgia because
- 15:25Speaker 1: if they win, they're in. And they lose to Georgia,
- 15:27Speaker 1: that makes it interesting because they need to have Georgia.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You have Georgia in the Ohio State Michigan winner. I think.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I think TC you can lose obviously if they lose.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I think the only teams that are in right now
- 15:38Speaker 1: period are Georgia and the winner of that Ohio State
- 15:40Speaker 1: Michigan game. That's it. Everybody else is still fighting for
- 15:42Speaker 1: their life and it could be a whole host of folks.
- 15:47Speaker 1: So that's fun. Are you seeking smiles in the Futures
- 15:52Speaker 1: Championship bets? No? I have Arkansas. Is that still alive?
- 15:59Speaker 1: But they don't kill it till it's over? Okay, That's
- 16:01Speaker 1: what I was wondering because there, I mean, there are
- 16:02Speaker 1: twenty teams that are still alive in those Yeah, but
- 16:05Speaker 1: they don't kill You can't bet on Arkansas now, I
- 16:07Speaker 1: don't think. But they don't kill it until it's actually
- 16:09Speaker 1: officially over. Uh. Do you have to go Okay, good
- 16:13Speaker 1: you looking at something. Um oh, I was looking at
- 16:15Speaker 1: a text from Kevin when I texted him during halftime
- 16:18Speaker 1: in the Tennessee game. I said, dude, was this Tennessee game?
- 16:20Speaker 1: What's gonna happen here? And he said, quote, Vall's got
- 16:23Speaker 1: it in the bag. Dude. I love that confidence. So
- 16:27Speaker 1: you're not a real fan because it really will be
- 16:29Speaker 1: like I don't know, man, I don't know. Um. Here
- 16:33Speaker 1: are my futures bets in general, if you'd like to
- 16:35Speaker 1: hear them, I would. Um. Arkansas regular says a win total.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna miss it by a half game because it
- 16:43Speaker 1: was at seven and a half. We want are sick
- 16:47Speaker 1: this this? Wait? Yeah, we can't win. Yeah, even if
- 16:50Speaker 1: you win one more h I have the Buccaneers. That's
- 16:55Speaker 1: our bet on the show rights for four thousand. There's
- 16:58Speaker 1: they can still win that thing. I don't know. I
- 17:00Speaker 1: mean you got the I think the Saints and the
- 17:02Speaker 1: Falcons both one, so they're creeping. Uh. The have the
- 17:06Speaker 1: Cardinals one of the NFC West because Eddie saw the
- 17:08Speaker 1: plane flyovers house and they thought it was Jesus was
- 17:10Speaker 1: not looking good. They played tonight right against Oh is
- 17:18Speaker 1: that Arkansas winning the football championship not happening. K J.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Jefferson in the Heisman, that happened. I always been all
- 17:27Speaker 1: the Arkansas step pre Baltimore Ravens a f C North winner. Yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 1: how are you looking over there? Shot? Let's see what
- 17:35Speaker 1: the standings are there. I mean either them or Cincinnati
- 17:38Speaker 1: right now. Yeah? And they look good too. Yeah yesterday
- 17:42Speaker 1: that wheah. So have the Baltimore Ravens gonna bucks first
- 17:46Speaker 1: to win and twenty AFC winner. I have the Carolina
- 17:50Speaker 1: Panthers to make the playoffs. Is there a cash out
- 17:52Speaker 1: option in that one? It is suspended? Payout? Dude, you
- 17:58Speaker 1: gotta drop that one. Break it. Um. I do have
- 18:01Speaker 1: the Chiefs too. If I have a big day, I
- 18:04Speaker 1: always put a little at the future, like a little
- 18:06Speaker 1: nibble at future. Yeah, because I'm not losing it. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: feel like I'm backing out any money and I'm just
- 18:10Speaker 1: spending the winnings. I bought the Chiefs in in September
- 18:14Speaker 1: to be the champion at plus eight hundred. So I
- 18:17Speaker 1: got the Chiefs a hundred bucks to win nine hundred.
- 18:19Speaker 1: That was still up. I like that one, Um. Arkansas
- 18:22Speaker 1: as City Championship Game football, the Eagles most regular season wins.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So I have that fifty bucks to make one. Uh
- 18:32Speaker 1: but I mean they lost, No, they want, they want,
- 18:34Speaker 1: they barely. Yeah, they said one loss and looking at
- 18:36Speaker 1: their Patrick Mahomes most regular season passing yards him and
- 18:40Speaker 1: Kelsey dude, I mean him alone, I bet fifty bucks
- 18:43Speaker 1: to win three. I have the Casey Chiefs, another future
- 18:48Speaker 1: for them. I'm not I just picked them. I have
- 18:54Speaker 1: the Colts to win the Super Bowl because the odds
- 18:58Speaker 1: were so good and then they're in that division. Paid
- 19:00Speaker 1: twenty bucks and if they win the super Bowl, I
- 19:01Speaker 1: went three thousands. Hey, and you know when they played
- 19:06Speaker 1: pretty good, they did that, they had the shot and
- 19:10Speaker 1: they're only like one game under five are the only
- 19:12Speaker 1: game out of five hundred maybe two now m Arkansas
- 19:15Speaker 1: n C double A tournament, basketball winner, Basketball Final four basketball.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It's just basketball stuff now. No, no Cowboys. You didn't
- 19:22Speaker 1: you even jumped on the boys yet. I got enough
- 19:24Speaker 1: money on the boys. You can't do anymore. Uh. NFL

- 20:24Speaker 1: been a better time, better year than this year to
- 20:27Speaker 1: have a playoff, a twelve team playoff. Look all those
- 20:29Speaker 1: teams we're talking about, Imagine how amazing it would be
- 20:31Speaker 1: if let's just roll down the list Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan,
- 20:37Speaker 1: tc U, Tennessee, l s U. Let's throw in a
- 20:41Speaker 1: small school just for the um Spits, Libertals, Liberty or
- 20:45Speaker 1: Cincinnati's nine um USC Oregon. Imagine twelve teams in That
- 20:51Speaker 1: would be so much fun. And then don't give me
- 20:53Speaker 1: the bull crap about well they wouldn't care if they're not. No,
- 20:55Speaker 1: does it happen in the NFL. No, you're fighting for seating.
- 20:57Speaker 1: You don't want to have to go play I would
- 20:58Speaker 1: State first. You want to go play Liberty first. You
- 21:02Speaker 1: don't want to go play Georgia first. You'd rather take
- 21:05Speaker 1: your chance with the LA shoot then Georgia. It's like going, well,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I like a playoff, Okay, you want to take the
- 21:11Speaker 1: four NFL teams. Just stick them in there and be like,
- 21:13Speaker 1: all right, this is what we do. No, you love it,
- 21:15Speaker 1: and you're fighting for seating. The whole time, and more
- 21:17Speaker 1: teams and fan bases are involved in this. Everybody. You
- 21:20Speaker 1: have more people still in the mix. It's amazing. Just
- 21:25Speaker 1: recently we had no playoff, and then we had to.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Then it was just taking regardless, and then it was four.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It gets better every time people that say they don't
- 21:34Speaker 1: want the playoff. You're so married to acting like you're
- 21:37Speaker 1: a tradition. It's so fun. It's fun. That's it. It's fun.
- 21:40Speaker 1: It's more games, it's fun, more teams. This year's especially
- 21:45Speaker 1: so Nick Saban wants to playoff. And when he didn't
- 21:47Speaker 1: want to play off, you know everybody is coming around.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he does, especially this year. He's like, I
- 21:54Speaker 1: just the losing emphasis is such a tired old argument
- 21:57Speaker 1: because all the other sports that people like have the
- 22:01Speaker 1: same element. Baseball, football, heck, basketball six to four. Let's go,
- 22:07Speaker 1: let's strow them all the teams in there. They'd be exhausted.
- 22:10Speaker 1: But they all want that one seed or that to
- 22:12Speaker 1: seed going into because you want to buy because that
- 22:15Speaker 1: you'll have maybe four. How does it go? Do you
- 22:17Speaker 1: get two buys in the twelve four? Because he ate
- 22:20Speaker 1: who cares? Let them deal with that? You want to
- 22:25Speaker 1: buy and then if you don't get to buy, you
- 22:27Speaker 1: want the three or four so you can play one
- 22:29Speaker 1: of the small schools. What an amazing year it would
- 22:32Speaker 1: be if that were the case, especially this year, it
- 22:35Speaker 1: would be awesome. Saving supports it. I support it. That's
- 22:41Speaker 1: all you need. Are looking for hand and Hooker is
- 22:45Speaker 1: now done, by the way, He's just going to go
- 22:47Speaker 1: play in the NFL. That's bad. That's bad. That's bad
- 22:50Speaker 1: in every way. You hated losing that game, then you
- 22:53Speaker 1: hated seeing him go down as well. I hated it
- 22:56Speaker 1: for Tennessee fans. I am not a Tennessee fan, but
- 22:59Speaker 1: for die hard fans like Kevin. Thank you guys, Thank you,
- 23:02Speaker 1: Thank you. Whistles presented by Draft Kings sports book and

- 23:16Speaker 1: now you're gonna say that, Well, maybe they do. Now
- 23:19Speaker 1: they've finally played somebody and they got whooped at home.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Teams that I didn't say they sucked. Teams that might suck,
- 23:24Speaker 1: Now the Vikings do they suck? Is there a chance
- 23:27Speaker 1: of them sucking from here out, Eddie. No, they don't suck.
- 23:29Speaker 1: They just played a very hard Cowboys team. Okay, you're
- 23:32Speaker 1: a big fan, Hey, I said what I said, Kevin. No,
- 23:35Speaker 1: they don't suck. I think they might be a little
- 23:37Speaker 1: flukey compared to the record, for sure, But I don't
- 23:39Speaker 1: think they suck. Yeah, sucking is tough. They got all,
- 23:42Speaker 1: they got everything they need well, sure, but I mean
- 23:46Speaker 1: their offense. They should be scoring way more than what
- 23:48Speaker 1: did they score? What did they score yesterday? I don't
- 23:51Speaker 1: even know what the game three the game was, they
- 23:53Speaker 1: changed it. They scored three points. I knew it was
- 23:55Speaker 1: over as soon as Michael Parsons got that first stack
- 23:57Speaker 1: phone balls like, oh, it's gonna be a long day.
- 23:59Speaker 1: It's gonna be long day. Teams that might suck. The Giants, No, yes,
- 24:06Speaker 1: I haven't thought they were good. If Daniel Jones turns
- 24:09Speaker 1: the ball over and they don't have a run game,
- 24:11Speaker 1: which happened yesterday, that's what happens, and that's they're going
- 24:13Speaker 1: to get back to that at some point, doing what
- 24:15Speaker 1: they do best, turning the ball over and not having
- 24:16Speaker 1: a run game. See, I want to believe it. But
- 24:18Speaker 1: now that the Cowboys are playing the Giants Thanksgiving. I mean,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know it's going to be a close game. You
- 24:23Speaker 1: know it's going to be a hard fought game, and
- 24:25Speaker 1: you can't. If they're able to do that, then they don't.
- 24:27Speaker 1: They don't suck. Teams that might be real good. The Bengals, Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 1: I think we always thought they were good, right, Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 1: they weren't looking good. Yeah, that offensive line, that team
- 24:38Speaker 1: will go as that line goes, because they have everything
- 24:40Speaker 1: else there. Jamaar Chase supposedly off crutches. They considered playing
- 24:44Speaker 1: him this week and didn't. Hard fought win for those
- 24:47Speaker 1: guys against the Browns. That's Browns, right, Steelers Steelers game?
- 24:50Speaker 1: Who the Browns play though to the end. The Bills,
- 24:53Speaker 1: Well they're up early and then down big yeah. Um
- 24:56Speaker 1: oh yeah. The Steelers made a triumphant last drive and
- 25:00Speaker 1: kept going to firm at the whole time. Is my
- 25:01Speaker 1: tied end. I was like, let's go baby. All those
- 25:04Speaker 1: points all I mean, Claypoo'll get into Pittsburgh has been
- 25:06Speaker 1: great for firm at the tight end there. Yeah, but yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: the Steelers aren't good. The Bengals are teams that might
- 25:12Speaker 1: be good, which we thought they were great. If They're
- 25:16Speaker 1: just good. That's a down grade. But the Bills they
- 25:21Speaker 1: did win. They did win. They're still winning. But I
- 25:23Speaker 1: still feel like, do you feel like they're not in
- 25:25Speaker 1: that top top echelon now? No, I think they are.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I think I think Josh Allen's dealing with a lot
- 25:29Speaker 1: more than we know, so I think that's kind of
- 25:31Speaker 1: hindering what's going on. But no, I think that the
- 25:33Speaker 1: Bills are still good. I think the Bills are going
- 25:34Speaker 1: to be in in the championship. You think though, the
- 25:37Speaker 1: NC Championship absolutely, the a C. No, the Championship meets
- 25:41Speaker 1: a super Bowl now, I mean I'm at the chance.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if they can to super
- 25:44Speaker 1: but they gotta get past the Chiefs. And I think
- 25:45Speaker 1: the Chiefs are just so good. I mean they did
- 25:47Speaker 1: beat them, the Bills did beat them earlier this year. Yeah. Yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 1: if they can run the ball. I'm looking at the
- 25:52Speaker 1: rushing yards Fromission. They had a hundred and seventy rushing yards.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So if they can do that, you can still find
- 25:56Speaker 1: ways to win. Because Josh Allen still wasn't great. That's
- 25:58Speaker 1: a weird game though, because they're ended Detroit. They had
- 26:00Speaker 1: to get him out of the snow and I was
- 26:01Speaker 1: reading sorry about one of the guys who worked at
- 26:03Speaker 1: the team had to go and uh, like shovel Josh
- 26:06Speaker 1: Allen's driveway so he could get out. What a mess?
- 26:09Speaker 1: What can Josh Allen shovel's own driveway. It's like the
- 26:11Speaker 1: guys that squirt water in the players. Why can't they
- 26:13Speaker 1: square their own water. Georgia wins over Kentucky. It's pretty
- 26:16Speaker 1: close fish game, you know. Ish. Uh watched a lot
- 26:20Speaker 1: of that. Ohio State beat Maryland close. Ish, it's closer
- 26:23Speaker 1: than the score. Uh. Michigan beat Illinois barely. That ended weird.
- 26:29Speaker 1: What happened at the ex upset is that what it
- 26:32Speaker 1: was Illinois got a p I and they got a
- 26:35Speaker 1: p I and I think the play before that, right
- 26:37Speaker 1: after that, Michigan ran like a stack receiver route and
- 26:40Speaker 1: one guy went inside and he could have been called
- 26:42Speaker 1: for offensive p I and you think that might have
- 26:44Speaker 1: been fourth down too, and he created another wide receiver
- 26:46Speaker 1: to get wide open. So he was pissed off about that. Yep,
- 26:49Speaker 1: it's a good game. I watched a lot of games
- 26:50Speaker 1: at the same time, so they all started. I know.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It happens to me every week. Uh yeah, Kornman on
- 26:54Speaker 1: the first half. TCU barely beats Baylor, and that was
- 26:58Speaker 1: a game. That's a game. That's awesome. That that rushing
- 27:03Speaker 1: to get the field goal off was crazy to me.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I'm like, what am I watching right now? South Carolina
- 27:07Speaker 1: scored sixty three points against Tennessee. Yeah. Man, they never
- 27:11Speaker 1: let up sixty three points. They just kept pushing that
- 27:14Speaker 1: gas pedal. I love it just and I think for
- 27:17Speaker 1: no other reason than just to be safe. I don't
- 27:19Speaker 1: think to rub anything in just to be safe age
- 27:22Speaker 1: because it's Tennessee. It's a big game. You want to
- 27:24Speaker 1: make sure unless you whoops you a b USC beats U.
- 27:28Speaker 1: C l a is You know, they just scored points.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I didn't even know if they had defense. It's like,
- 27:33Speaker 1: imagine you can practice against no defense. It's almost what
- 27:35Speaker 1: it felt like at times of watching that game. It
- 27:38Speaker 1: was right, what's the score was? That's a lot of points.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Caleb Boy had almost five hundred passing yards. Vanderbilt beat Florida.
- 27:46Speaker 1: It was awesome. It's awesome. They want two in a row.
- 27:51Speaker 1: So cool. What if they what if they beat Tennessee
- 27:54Speaker 1: this week, They'll be hilarious, Like, what's his name coach Lee. Yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 1: Florida with a hundred fifty more total yards, but Bandy
- 28:05Speaker 1: capitalized on turnovers and hangs on to it at the end.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And Bandy rushed the field. But I said, this will
- 28:09Speaker 1: looks like some people just wandered out there, like a
- 28:11Speaker 1: small group of folks wandered. I was like, don't find
- 28:14Speaker 1: on the whole thing. That's not that's not the stands
- 28:17Speaker 1: of rushing the field. That's just a few people going
- 28:19Speaker 1: down after the game. It's a good job, that's funny.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's like a slow walk. Markansas crushed Ole Miss much much, much,
- 28:26Speaker 1: much bigger of a margin than the scoring decades. Seven.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Our boy rockets Sanders two hundred thirty rush yards and
- 28:33Speaker 1: three touchdowns. Yeah, and they took him out for a
- 28:35Speaker 1: lot of it too. It was awesome, all right, NFL
- 28:38Speaker 1: recap quickly and we'll get to Marcelo's Wiley, who just
- 28:41Speaker 1: a plus great guest. Uh Bill's beat the Browns. Ravens
- 28:46Speaker 1: beats Panthers. Is a pretty terrible game though, and and
- 28:52Speaker 1: our boy Baker it was not good, well it was,
- 28:55Speaker 1: I mean, they weren't scoring at all. So I remember
- 28:57Speaker 1: checking the half of the halftime scoring like, well, there's
- 28:59Speaker 1: nothing going on. That was like three three or and
- 29:01Speaker 1: at that point I'm thinking, Wow, the Panthers could win
- 29:04Speaker 1: this game, but they never scored. Patriots beat the Jets
- 29:07Speaker 1: ten three. We talked about that. Falcons beat the Bears. Well,
- 29:10Speaker 1: it's like the Bears played just close enough and then
- 29:13Speaker 1: then they don't. But Courtil Patterson returned another one. He's
- 29:16Speaker 1: looking pretty good, dude. Um. Eagles beat the Colt seventeen sixteen.
- 29:20Speaker 1: That's stunk. I was really pulling for the Colts there.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Did you see Syrianni after the game. Yeah, he was sad,
- 29:26Speaker 1: getting all pump no, getting like into the cold crowd
- 29:30Speaker 1: because they after they won the game, the Eagles won
- 29:32Speaker 1: the game, He's like standing on the bench and like
- 29:33Speaker 1: yelling at the Colts crowd. I didn't see that. Yeah,
- 29:36Speaker 1: And they were saying it because his buddies with Frank right,
- 29:38Speaker 1: That's what I was talking about. Yeah, that he was like,
- 29:41Speaker 1: this is a weird one for him because he was
- 29:42Speaker 1: they let Frank right. Yeah, So same weird situation, different emotions.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Saints beat the Rams. Stupid Stafford left with a concussion
- 29:52Speaker 1: the second game that it's yeah, time to go and
- 29:54Speaker 1: losing Cooper Cup is a big one. Lions beat the Giants,
- 29:58Speaker 1: So we're talking about Lions look pretty good, Williams like
- 30:01Speaker 1: great run of the ball, Lions like pretty good? He
- 30:04Speaker 1: really does. How many wins Lions have now? Mhmm, five?
- 30:08Speaker 1: Here they come, three game winnings, here they come, baby
- 30:11Speaker 1: Commanders beat the Texas Commanders. Listen, honeke is four and one.
- 30:15Speaker 1: You know, he brings another element to that team, Like,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I think they needed that push, and he's like, dude,
- 30:20Speaker 1: I don't know much a behind a key, but I
- 30:23Speaker 1: feel like he is the old guy that and I
- 30:25Speaker 1: don't know if he's old, but he seems like an
- 30:27Speaker 1: old guy who's got like a worn out tattoo that
- 30:30Speaker 1: they've probably gotten spring breaking when he was like eighteen
- 30:32Speaker 1: years old. And he's just got so much spirit and
- 30:36Speaker 1: prompt for that team. And I think that's exactly what
- 30:38Speaker 1: they need to do. Well, what'd you look up over there, Kevin?
- 30:41Speaker 1: The Lions win? They've won four games? Writers Pete the Broncos.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Davante Adams was just a man amongst two teams of boys.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Because both those teams aren't good. Waters win and the
- 30:53Speaker 1: Cowboys are dominated. Uh and to wrap it up. The
- 30:56Speaker 1: Bengals beat the Steelers. That's it. That's it. That's it.
- 30:58Speaker 1: We're gonna get Marcellus Wiley. The World Cup is today.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Maybe by the time you hear this will help be
- 31:02Speaker 1: over well. As far as the first U S game,
- 31:06Speaker 1: I don't know so much about it. I watched it
- 31:08Speaker 1: every four years. Usually we're not in it, so I
- 31:10Speaker 1: don't watch that much of it. I watch the Olympics
- 31:12Speaker 1: because usually we get in that. How into it do
- 31:15Speaker 1: you get? Do you wear red, white and blue or
- 31:17Speaker 1: you like? If I go somewhere where other people are,
- 31:18Speaker 1: don't know myself house, so you don't know, not by
- 31:21Speaker 1: myself you do? Oh yeah, man, I have these shorts.
- 31:24Speaker 1: But if nobody sees you, I wouldnt even more close
- 31:26Speaker 1: if nobody saw me. When no one sees me during
- 31:28Speaker 1: Cowboys games and I was wearing my Cowboys sure well
- 31:30Speaker 1: maybe some sort of superstition. But then let's go USA. Well,
- 31:34Speaker 1: it's the first Cup in the World Cup for American
- 31:36Speaker 1: Since the team is good and young, the captains twenty three.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I think it's the second youngest team of all the
- 31:43Speaker 1: all the worlds that are playing. It's a bunch of worlds, right,
- 31:45Speaker 1: a bunch of worlds. Wherever is it in Earth? Or what?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Don how soccer works? Something like that? Okay, kickoff set
- 31:52Speaker 1: for two Eastern today. So one central against Wales is
- 31:55Speaker 1: that like a town. No, I think it's like a
- 31:58Speaker 1: part of it, like a community of old folks of Florida.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You go down and play some golf and soccer. Heck
- 32:06Speaker 1: uh yeah, how does Whales make it? And we didn't
- 32:09Speaker 1: last year? Whales? They play a lot of soccer over there.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I know where Whales is. Where is it? It's yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 1: it's over there in the UK. Let's see what We'll
- 32:18Speaker 1: see what happens. Does everyone okare with her? I don't know, dude,
- 32:22Speaker 1: Like it's it's scary. I was watching the actual pronunciation
- 32:25Speaker 1: of it. We say cutter and qatar. That's probably very
- 32:31Speaker 1: easy disrespect. It's it's actually good there, good there. But
- 32:36Speaker 1: I feel like I'm gonna try the accent sound like
- 32:38Speaker 1: you're well no, I feel like they say, well, you don't,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you can't. It's not your accent. You can't speak in that.
- 32:43Speaker 1: That's but when they said it like that, they're like this,
- 32:46Speaker 1: how you say it? Good? Dr? But I'm not doing
- 32:48Speaker 1: the accident of doing the phonetic good dr DR. But
- 32:50Speaker 1: if you go good there, it sounds like you're trying
- 32:52Speaker 1: to mimic an accent. No, I think words that come
- 32:55Speaker 1: from that country or whatever country you're not. You need
- 32:57Speaker 1: to be pronounced the right way. Okay, go ahead, Eddie,
- 33:00Speaker 1: when you go to Chipotle you have what what do
- 33:02Speaker 1: you mean? Yeah, of course we're gonna talk to Marcellus Wiley.
- 33:09Speaker 1: His Twitter and Instagram is at Marcellus Wiley. He NFL
- 33:13Speaker 1: second team All Pro and Pro Bowler. In two thousand
- 33:15Speaker 1: and one, he won the National forger me To Track
- 33:18Speaker 1: and Field Championship at age thirteen. That's how you know
- 33:21Speaker 1: you're an athlete. Wow. Godly selected in the second round
- 33:24Speaker 1: of the NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, all ivy
- 33:27Speaker 1: League twice and released a book and called Never Shut Up.
- 33:32Speaker 1: The Life, Opinions and Unexpected Adventures of an NFL Outsider.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I mean he played for the Bills, the Chargers, the Cowboys,
- 33:39Speaker 1: the Jaguars. It's been on ESPN, Fox Sports. It's got
- 33:42Speaker 1: a podcast it's pretty good called More to It. And
- 33:46Speaker 1: here he is, Marcellis Wiley. Marcellis, how are you? Oh,
- 33:49Speaker 1: great man? Yeah, same to you? Really just super pumped.
- 33:53Speaker 1: You'd spend a few minutes with us here especially, you
- 33:56Speaker 1: know what's interesting to me, And I guess I just
- 33:58Speaker 1: want to start with you talking about the chart. It's
- 34:00Speaker 1: just because I know, looking back at your career, you
- 34:03Speaker 1: spent some really good time with the Chargers, like some
- 34:06Speaker 1: of your most successful time. And I'm just curious to
- 34:08Speaker 1: somebody who played there, and all my friends either that
- 34:11Speaker 1: have either played in the league or played at some level,
- 34:14Speaker 1: they always go two Chargers, you know what happened? They
- 34:17Speaker 1: just expect things to happen because was that when you
- 34:19Speaker 1: were there? Was that also how it felt like were
- 34:22Speaker 1: the Chargers? Things just don't work out our way. No,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I don't think it's that way anywhere, no matter how
- 34:26Speaker 1: lowly the franchise is, no matter how much they get
- 34:30Speaker 1: tripped up in their pursuit of excellence. Um. I think
- 34:33Speaker 1: that's a some nation. I think that's what we look
- 34:36Speaker 1: back in label ass and sometimes look forward and project.
- 34:40Speaker 1: But you don't in the moment feel that way at all.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Like I was on teams that was four and twelve,
- 34:46Speaker 1: five and eleven, and every year I thought we were
- 34:49Speaker 1: gonna win the Super Bowl. You know, you go into
- 34:51Speaker 1: that season thinking that what happens with the Chargers I
- 34:54Speaker 1: think more than anything is there were some convenient excuses
- 34:58Speaker 1: like I was on the team with L T. Drew Brees, junior,
- 35:01Speaker 1: Say Rodney Harrison, but at different times older junior, older Rodney,
- 35:06Speaker 1: a young baby, wet behind the ears. LT Drew Brees
- 35:10Speaker 1: didn't add up. Um, But what happens in those moments is, Uh,
- 35:14Speaker 1: it's too convenient to say it's the Chargers. Why sunshine
- 35:18Speaker 1: and pretty pretty city and so many other things to
- 35:22Speaker 1: do and options? And are they really focused, Like we
- 35:25Speaker 1: gotta be from the Northeast to really be dedicated to football.
- 35:29Speaker 1: So I think the labeling is probably what it is.
- 35:33Speaker 1: But look, the Bulls used to be oh my god,
- 35:35Speaker 1: the Bulls. Now they're sputtering. You know, the Lakers used
- 35:38Speaker 1: to be oh my god, the Lakers. Now they're sputtering.
- 35:40Speaker 1: It's not about the culture, it's about the players and
- 35:44Speaker 1: what they're gonna do. Do you feel like the Chargers
- 35:46Speaker 1: are trending up? Can they still win some games? Maybe? Um?
- 35:50Speaker 1: Even make playoffs? Uh? Definitely can make the playoffs. Um,
- 35:53Speaker 1: I think they're treading water right now despite them having
- 35:56Speaker 1: a better record. Then I think people expect with all
- 35:59Speaker 1: the injuries, like the talent level, if they would have
- 36:01Speaker 1: stayed healthy. People were been thinking they should have the
- 36:04Speaker 1: record like the Eagles or the Giants. But with all
- 36:06Speaker 1: these injuries, Uh, you expected a lot less. But they
- 36:09Speaker 1: found them themselves in position fourth quarters and fought through
- 36:13Speaker 1: a lot of games. But yeah, I think the Charge
- 36:15Speaker 1: is still a playoff team. Sure, Josh McDaniels this morning
- 36:17Speaker 1: in the news because well, everybody that's not a part
- 36:21Speaker 1: of the organization is screaming on Twitter to fire him
- 36:23Speaker 1: in his first season there in Vegas. What do you
- 36:26Speaker 1: take from this Vegas team where even Davante Adams is like, hey,
- 36:29Speaker 1: not everybody's bought in, And is that a McDaniels thing?
- 36:32Speaker 1: And does he make it through the year. He should
- 36:34Speaker 1: make it through the year. Like, I don't give a
- 36:36Speaker 1: damn how bad it gets out there. You gotta give
- 36:38Speaker 1: a guy at least one revolution to see how this
- 36:42Speaker 1: thing can apply itself and take hold. Um. I don't
- 36:46Speaker 1: like that they're leaking. I don't like that they're all
- 36:48Speaker 1: right now in this projection of how much I really care.
- 36:53Speaker 1: It's like a projection of passion. I care the most,
- 36:55Speaker 1: so I'm gonna go to the podium and I'm going
- 36:57Speaker 1: to cry or I'm gonna say I'm more dedicated than
- 37:01Speaker 1: you guys are. And that's the issue right now, that
- 37:04Speaker 1: they're not level, they're not even they're not a team.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Like guys are really jockeying to just demonstrate that they
- 37:10Speaker 1: care more, when if you're on the team, the way
- 37:13Speaker 1: to demonstrate that is ball out of control and shut up.
- 37:16Speaker 1: That's all we need right now is just to see
- 37:18Speaker 1: guys go out there and play closer to perfection than
- 37:21Speaker 1: trying to project like they're perfect. Is that every locker
- 37:24Speaker 1: room though, when you're a professional that some guys buy in,
- 37:28Speaker 1: some guys kind of doing some guys are just gonna check.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, And that's why why are you speaking of
- 37:33Speaker 1: this like it's abnormal, Like you know that there's some
- 37:37Speaker 1: guy who's like, yeah, I know our base coverages, but
- 37:41Speaker 1: everything else, you know that's on you help me out
- 37:43Speaker 1: or I'm not playing. So what's the point. Like on
- 37:46Speaker 1: any team, everyone doesn't contribute at the same level, you
- 37:51Speaker 1: never expect that. If so, everyone would get paid the
- 37:54Speaker 1: same and everybody would be expected to do the same.
- 37:56Speaker 1: So when it comes out of the locker room. That's
- 38:00Speaker 1: when the issue becomes for everyone else to consume when
- 38:03Speaker 1: that should be internal, that should staying home in the house.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And these guys are leaking right now. What is your
- 38:09Speaker 1: take now on Jeff Saturday? And and uh, my take
- 38:14Speaker 1: is the same as it was when he got hired.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I didn't understand all the outcry now people were conflating
- 38:21Speaker 1: Jeff Saturday being a head coach with the hiring process
- 38:26Speaker 1: is flawed. You can have that conversation independent of Jeff Saturday,
- 38:30Speaker 1: but every hiring process is flawed. You want to know
- 38:33Speaker 1: why relationships desire? Like trust me, my kids right now,
- 38:38Speaker 1: behind me, whatever daddy has you stand in line, it's
- 38:43Speaker 1: yours next versus some kid who went to Columbia with
- 38:48Speaker 1: three degrees and amazing resume and internships. Good for him,
- 38:52Speaker 1: He behind my son. It's like relationships matter in this situation.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Jeff Saturday not only had tremendous success, the ultimate make success,
- 39:00Speaker 1: a Super Bowl champion with that uniform on, has the
- 39:04Speaker 1: tremendous relationship with the owners, knows the ups and downs
- 39:07Speaker 1: of that organization, knows where all the bodies are buried,
- 39:11Speaker 1: and has tremendous respect anytime he's around the Indianapolis Coats.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Maybe that's the guy that can get something out of
- 39:19Speaker 1: these guys versus the traditional coach who has failed forward
- 39:24Speaker 1: to become a coordinator, who finally has a top ten
- 39:27Speaker 1: offense or defense, who becomes the head coach and struggles
- 39:30Speaker 1: like Zig sometimes when everyone else zags. And that's all
- 39:33Speaker 1: he wanted. Jeff Saturday was an opportunity, and so far,
- 39:36Speaker 1: so good. What about Matt Ryan because they had said
- 39:39Speaker 1: that they weren't gonna play him because they didn't want
- 39:41Speaker 1: him to get hurt, and they have to pay him
- 39:42Speaker 1: all this money and he's playing against so am I
- 39:46Speaker 1: to assume that it didn't come from her say they
- 39:48Speaker 1: didn't want Ryan plan because of contract, that it came
- 39:50Speaker 1: from Frank Reich in that system before. No. I think
- 39:53Speaker 1: it did come with earth Say's approval. It had to
- 39:57Speaker 1: to some degree. But that's the point of a Jeff's Saturday,
- 40:00Speaker 1: who has a relationship and has the jack camera that
- 40:04Speaker 1: can kind of bust up the concrete, and the concrete said, hey,
- 40:07Speaker 1: Matt Ryan stuck. Matt Ryan is done. We're protecting our
- 40:10Speaker 1: money and we're not gonna invest in anymore in Matt Ryan.
- 40:13Speaker 1: But when you have that relationship Jeff Saturday. It's like
- 40:17Speaker 1: the person that walks up to you after your third
- 40:19Speaker 1: fourth drink versus somebody cole walks up to you when
- 40:22Speaker 1: you're first walking to party, like you're gonna get a
- 40:23Speaker 1: different meat. You get a different Jim Mercy. When you
- 40:27Speaker 1: got Jeff Saturday talking, it's the third fourth drink, Jim
- 40:30Speaker 1: Mercy and he's like, so what do you think? He's like,
- 40:33Speaker 1: what do you think? And what do you think? And
- 40:35Speaker 1: then Jeff is like, Yo, we can't win any other way.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Let's go and he's like all right. So that's what
- 40:40Speaker 1: this is about. I wish people would look at the
- 40:43Speaker 1: human capital and how it played itself in this situation.
- 40:48Speaker 1: In totality, that's a Jeff Saturday nudget on his boss,
- 40:52Speaker 1: nudgeing on his friend. I think you bring up a
- 40:54Speaker 1: great point with just the word human, right, And us
- 40:56Speaker 1: as fans, we watch and we just see these audeators
- 41:00Speaker 1: machines who we like, we wanted to score touchdowns for
- 41:02Speaker 1: our team. You played you were that to us. And
- 41:06Speaker 1: that being said, you are humans. And and I'm not
- 41:08Speaker 1: talking about Brady specifically, but I think an example here
- 41:11Speaker 1: of a lot of people assuming Brady was struggling because
- 41:13Speaker 1: of what he was going through personally. And I'm not
- 41:15Speaker 1: asking you about that specific situation, but you know that
- 41:19Speaker 1: these players are real life humans and they're going through
- 41:22Speaker 1: hard times. Are there every games where there are games
- 41:24Speaker 1: in your career where big player was struggling with something
- 41:27Speaker 1: personal and you knew that, and it was like, we
- 41:29Speaker 1: gotta make sure to pick him up because he's not
- 41:31Speaker 1: gonna be version of what he normally is. Yeah. Absolutely,
- 41:35Speaker 1: And I've been that player as well, needed somebody to
- 41:38Speaker 1: kind of align my focus back onto the task at hand. Um,
- 41:42Speaker 1: it's crazy because even if you're fully focused, there are
- 41:46Speaker 1: no guarantee results. There are no guarantee successful results, and
- 41:51Speaker 1: even if you're distracted, it's not a guarantee that you're
- 41:54Speaker 1: going to fill in those games. It's crazy because there's
- 41:58Speaker 1: just always in every game, in every play, a moment
- 42:02Speaker 1: of truth, did you execute or not? And a lot
- 42:05Speaker 1: of times we want to look into that for deeper
- 42:08Speaker 1: motivation and deeper understandings. Oh, is because you know his
- 42:12Speaker 1: parents passed away. Oh, it's because he's going through a divorce.
- 42:15Speaker 1: But we've seen those guys fail and succeed in the
- 42:19Speaker 1: same circumstance and vice versus some guys going through a
- 42:22Speaker 1: divorce ball out of control. Because the weight is lifted,
- 42:27Speaker 1: it's final. We finally admitted what we've been suffering through
- 42:30Speaker 1: for the last six years, you know, whatever that may be.
- 42:33Speaker 1: So I am never the one to say that is
- 42:36Speaker 1: the reason this occurred because Tom Brady could have been
- 42:40Speaker 1: having marital problems for a few years. Who know, they say,
- 42:44Speaker 1: in every relationship, no matter how long it is, you
- 42:47Speaker 1: spend half the time breaking up. So if you've been
- 42:50Speaker 1: together ten years, the last five years, we were starting
- 42:53Speaker 1: to land this plane. Honey, we're starting to wind down
- 42:55Speaker 1: this road, right, So it's Tom Brady could have won
- 42:58Speaker 1: a Super Bowl fully distracted with marital problems. We don't
- 43:01Speaker 1: know that. So let's not map it on retroactively because
- 43:04Speaker 1: now we know they're divorced. What about like an injury
- 43:06Speaker 1: that somebody's not sharing and it's pretty bad and they
- 43:09Speaker 1: don't want it to be known. Yeah, I mean, look
- 43:12Speaker 1: like the craziest thing is it's opportunity out there, and
- 43:16Speaker 1: there's an opportunity cost, and you never want to play
- 43:19Speaker 1: around with your starting opportunity because what happens is very
- 43:25Speaker 1: few guys have it like, no matter what I do,
- 43:28Speaker 1: very few. No matter what I do, I'm good. Like
- 43:31Speaker 1: everyone is always in that line of coaching and general
- 43:36Speaker 1: managers are thinking, is there a cheaper, younger version? Like
- 43:41Speaker 1: as soon as you get your money, we say it
- 43:43Speaker 1: in the locker room. Soon as you get paid, congratulations.
- 43:46Speaker 1: You know they upstairs trying to figure out how to
- 43:48Speaker 1: get it back. And that's how it goes. So in
- 43:50Speaker 1: this situation, you're injured, you're you're trying to play that
- 43:54Speaker 1: off concussions. I know a lot of conversation about concussions.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Guys lie on the concussion protocol test because who wants
- 44:00Speaker 1: to lose their opportunity. No one wants to get Wiley piped.
- 44:04Speaker 1: So yeah, I've been that guy before. Like, I'm fine, coach,
- 44:07Speaker 1: I'm good. Inside, I'm thinking, damn, I can't even walk.
- 44:11Speaker 1: But I got this injection, I got this shot, I
- 44:14Speaker 1: got this craziness going on. The music is pumping, I'm pumped,
- 44:17Speaker 1: the culture, the pressure, all these dynamics is gonna get
- 44:21Speaker 1: me through these next three hours. But was I ready
- 44:23Speaker 1: for that moment? Absolutely not. But am I gonna give
- 44:26Speaker 1: up on it? Absolutely not. We're gonna break from this
- 44:29Speaker 1: Marcellus Wiley interview for just one second. The show brought
- 44:32Speaker 1: to you by a Draft Kings sports Book, an official
- 44:34Speaker 1: sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings
- 44:36Speaker 1: app used to code Bobby Sports to get in on
- 44:38Speaker 1: the action. Now, do I even need to say it?
- 44:41Speaker 1: We hit the parley hit. Everybody's got so many smiles
- 44:45Speaker 1: is falling out of their pockets. I was watching people
- 44:46Speaker 1: walk down the road with so many smiles. They can
- 44:48Speaker 1: just tell they were probably part of the Whistles Draft
- 44:50Speaker 1: Kings parley. L s U crushed you a b Auburn
- 44:54Speaker 1: money line and TCU that was the close one. Yeah,
- 44:58Speaker 1: that was sweating a little bit, and I was gonna
- 45:00Speaker 1: right there. That's the old field goal kick, real quick,
- 45:02Speaker 1: real quick field goal kick. Listeners who don't have Draft

- 45:23Speaker 1: Gambling problem called one hundred gambler in Tennessee carl or
- 45:26Speaker 1: texta the Tennessee Redline eight nine nine eight nine. In
- 45:30Speaker 1: New York call eight seven seven eight hope and wire
- 45:32Speaker 1: text hopen y for six seven three six nine. All right,
- 45:35Speaker 1: now back to more from Marcellus Wiley. We'll talk about
- 45:37Speaker 1: being ready for a second. And so I do one
- 45:40Speaker 1: of like the radio show that I do every day
- 45:42Speaker 1: is and in a couple hundred cities, and it's a thing.
- 45:44Speaker 1: But each night I set aside time, and each morning
- 45:47Speaker 1: I said aside time a couple of hours here, a
- 45:49Speaker 1: couple of hours there, or if I'm doing stand up
- 45:50Speaker 1: on the weekends, I'm spending time riding whatever I'm doing.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I dedicated an amount of time that I think is
- 45:55Speaker 1: sufficient to doing a good job, putting a good workout
- 45:59Speaker 1: so I can make my money. Right. That's that's what
- 46:01Speaker 1: we're all doing. Now. Some nights, let's say my wife
- 46:05Speaker 1: and I decided to go to dinner, and I don't
- 46:06Speaker 1: get to do as much preper reading the news as much,
- 46:09Speaker 1: or and then I go in. I'm like, I'm just
- 46:12Speaker 1: gonna have to skate through this one because I didn't
- 46:14Speaker 1: Now does that happen week to week with you guys?
- 46:16Speaker 1: Are you're supposed to watch a whole lot of film
- 46:18Speaker 1: and maybe you do thirteen weeks, but there's a couple
- 46:20Speaker 1: of like I didn't get I didn't get too as
- 46:22Speaker 1: much of it as I should. So I'm just gonna
- 46:23Speaker 1: hope this works out. Yeah. Absolutely, there are times. I mean,
- 46:26Speaker 1: if there's a uniform standard of uh traditional prep time
- 46:31Speaker 1: of fifteen hours, are there weeks when there's twelve hours? Absolutely?
- 46:35Speaker 1: Are there weeks when it's seventeen? Absolutely? And you ride
- 46:38Speaker 1: the wave. And one thing you have to always be
- 46:42Speaker 1: is the ultimate justifier and you also got to be
- 46:45Speaker 1: your biggest cheerleaders. So if you're ill prepared for the game,
- 46:49Speaker 1: you gotta start lying to yourself. No, today we plan
- 46:53Speaker 1: on instinct. Today we're playing off of just play on
- 46:57Speaker 1: what we see. You know, you gotta start justifying, lying
- 47:00Speaker 1: to yourself because you know you're not ready for that moment.
- 47:03Speaker 1: And it's the same thing in our in our world,
- 47:06Speaker 1: in any endeavor, if you walk in the door and
- 47:09Speaker 1: you don't feel it, you gotta find it from somewhere else,
- 47:12Speaker 1: and usually it's between those ears. Talking about injuries a
- 47:15Speaker 1: second ago, when a player comes back from an injury,
- 47:17Speaker 1: it obviously doesn't mean he's a hundred percent back. And
- 47:20Speaker 1: when Dad came back, I think a lot of cowboy
- 47:23Speaker 1: fans and I'm surrounded by them, like, Dack's back, babe,
- 47:25Speaker 1: let's go about to roll and I think game one
- 47:28Speaker 1: we saw him not roll completely. And you know what,
- 47:32Speaker 1: three weeks into this now him being back, is Dak
- 47:35Speaker 1: healthy in Europe? Is that injury just as you know
- 47:38Speaker 1: the injury. We don't have to go to Dak specifically,
- 47:40Speaker 1: but is that injury probably at a place now where
- 47:42Speaker 1: he should be fully healthy or you would be fully
- 47:44Speaker 1: healthy if you had it. No, not fully healthy, not
- 47:47Speaker 1: like Dak was the second before the injury occurred. And
- 47:51Speaker 1: to me, that's fully healthy. And it's not just because
- 47:54Speaker 1: structurally you're fully healthy in terms of physical injury, but
- 47:58Speaker 1: mentally you're ructure is right now not compromise. Think about
- 48:03Speaker 1: the moment before Dad got hurt. He's reckless, he's mindless,
- 48:09Speaker 1: He's just out there feeling it. He's in the zone,
- 48:11Speaker 1: he has the goal, whatever it may be. You're just
- 48:14Speaker 1: playing the game. I'm not thinking about my thumb now.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Dak Prescott throws the past and he does the self check.
- 48:21Speaker 1: You know he's doing this, you know, d Prescott h
- 48:24Speaker 1: throws an errand pass. You know he's flicking the wrist
- 48:27Speaker 1: and the thumb like you're all good, Like you're thinking
- 48:30Speaker 1: of something else outside of the task in front of you.
- 48:34Speaker 1: And that's when you know you're not fully healthy. And
- 48:36Speaker 1: a lot of people don't really consume this part of rehabilitation.
- 48:42Speaker 1: They usually just think about physically, if I'm good, if
- 48:44Speaker 1: I could do what I used to do, I'm fine.
- 48:46Speaker 1: But do you trust yourself? Do you go to the
- 48:48Speaker 1: six gear? Do you go pedal to the metal in
- 48:52Speaker 1: all endeavors? And right now, I don't think Dak Prescott's
- 48:55Speaker 1: there right now, and I don't expect him to be
- 48:58Speaker 1: there right now, but as it's a progressist, ultimately he
- 49:01Speaker 1: should be there. Like I strained a hamstring a lot,
- 49:04Speaker 1: let me say again, I lightly strained a hamstring. I
- 49:09Speaker 1: barely lightly strained a hamstring, and I still go pretty hard.
- 49:13Speaker 1: And now I've never been the athlete that you are,
- 49:16Speaker 1: but was an okay athlete and I would do sprints
- 49:18Speaker 1: every day, beginning into my workout, I still, even though
- 49:21Speaker 1: it's been three months, I don't have the mental part
- 49:24Speaker 1: of it to just open it up again because I
- 49:27Speaker 1: was I only lightly strained my hamstring, so I can't
- 49:30Speaker 1: imagine the A C L M C L tear and
- 49:32Speaker 1: having to go back and you're having to push off that.
- 49:35Speaker 1: So I would the mental part it seems like it
- 49:37Speaker 1: would be more difficult than the physical part. Sometimes Yeah,
- 49:41Speaker 1: and you're right on it, Um, that's what it is.
- 49:43Speaker 1: It's like when you have the injury, that's a physical
- 49:46Speaker 1: element that's gonna get processed mentally, and through that process,
- 49:52Speaker 1: you're gonna first of all feel pain, because that's what
- 49:54Speaker 1: it is. Hey, something alert, alert, something's wrong. Okay, shut
- 49:58Speaker 1: it down. You know the sense of bluff low, let's
- 50:00Speaker 1: get this thing right. Okay, we're good. We're good, a
- 50:02Speaker 1: couple of weeks, a couple of months, whatever it may be.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Now upstairs, you've still being calcified. Brother, upstairs, you've still
- 50:10Speaker 1: been hardened to think there's some pain there and you
- 50:13Speaker 1: have to really start to make that go away over time,
- 50:17Speaker 1: through process, through mental conditioning to trust. I always go
- 50:21Speaker 1: back to that. You gotta trust yourself to jump off
- 50:25Speaker 1: the cliff again, and when you have the hammy or
- 50:27Speaker 1: the thumb, you don't fully commit to it. You're like,
- 50:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ninety percent, one nine, two, Oh, I'm
- 50:35Speaker 1: still I'm still okay, I'm not hurt. And you keep
- 50:38Speaker 1: doing that till you finally get to a hundred. But
- 50:41Speaker 1: they're building blocks, man, and it takes a it takes
- 50:43Speaker 1: a minute. We think about Josh Allen, what's happening in
- 50:46Speaker 1: Buffalo right now, trying to be superman Um. And you
- 50:49Speaker 1: gotta remember, you just gotta be a man Um, not
- 50:52Speaker 1: a superman Um. It's to do all the big things
- 50:56Speaker 1: in this world. To do anything big, you gotta do
- 50:59Speaker 1: the little things. And what's happening is you get caught
- 51:02Speaker 1: up in the label. You get caught up in the results.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Josh Allen amazing players. So you start to play like
- 51:08Speaker 1: the label pressing too much. You got an injury, so
- 51:10Speaker 1: what I'm fine, I'm superman comes out there trying to
- 51:13Speaker 1: play and through all that and pressing. I got three
- 51:17Speaker 1: final questions for you, and the first is gonna be
- 51:19Speaker 1: the Vikings. What's their ceiling? A great point, they're ceiling.
- 51:23Speaker 1: They feel like one of those Tennessee Year Conference championship
- 51:28Speaker 1: losers like, oh, we're there, We're there. But they have
- 51:31Speaker 1: the elements. They have the tripod, if you will, of
- 51:35Speaker 1: a Dalvin Cook running back, Justin Jefferson receiver, Kirk Cousins
- 51:39Speaker 1: at quarterback. You know, I think it all rids on
- 51:42Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins. But this feels like one of those good stories.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And they look perfect from far but far from perfect.
- 51:51Speaker 1: So they got it all and they keep finding ways,
- 51:55Speaker 1: and then it's gonna catch up to him because the
- 51:56Speaker 1: margin the air is too slim for this team. When
- 51:59Speaker 1: you're growing up and you are the athlete that you
- 52:01Speaker 1: are and also the person who is dedicated to being
- 52:03Speaker 1: a better athlete, at what point did your ability catch
- 52:07Speaker 1: up with you having to actually put in a bunch
- 52:11Speaker 1: of time preparing as a really smart kid. Once I
- 52:14Speaker 1: got to by my second year of college, I was like, oh,
- 52:16Speaker 1: I now I gotta study. I can't just go off
- 52:17Speaker 1: straight what I can think of? When did that happen
- 52:20Speaker 1: to you? Where I was? I've been a great athlete
- 52:23Speaker 1: in my whole life, but now I gotta do extra
- 52:26Speaker 1: to make sure I can stay elite. Yeah, I think
- 52:28Speaker 1: that funnel starts from the day you really play sports
- 52:32Speaker 1: like I started when I was eight years old. Um,
- 52:35Speaker 1: and eight years old, all you have to do to
- 52:37Speaker 1: play football and be good is be fast, you know,
- 52:40Speaker 1: like every fast eight year old is an m v P.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Like there's no slow eight year olds that are like
- 52:46Speaker 1: out there balling like you're gonna You're gonna get caught
- 52:49Speaker 1: like you do. Is just it's it's it's too simple
- 52:51Speaker 1: a game. But as the game gets more complex, then
- 52:54Speaker 1: you have to grow with it in the complexities. Right.
- 52:57Speaker 1: So for me, I would say late high school, even
- 53:00Speaker 1: though I still was beasting, Um, I started to realize,
- 53:03Speaker 1: like you just can't wake up, put on the house
- 53:05Speaker 1: shoes and then ball out of control, like there will
- 53:08Speaker 1: be resistance and I'm gonna have to start out maneuvering
- 53:12Speaker 1: people out thinking people just can't always out run everyone.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Geometry comes into play. These cats are starting to take
- 53:19Speaker 1: better angles, coach, These guys are starting to run to
- 53:21Speaker 1: the ball collectively, like you can start to see where
- 53:25Speaker 1: the chess matches being introduced to the game. So it
- 53:28Speaker 1: happened step by step. But I would say late high
- 53:31Speaker 1: school certainly college even though I went to an IVY school.
- 53:34Speaker 1: It wasn't just grab everyone like I was storing and
- 53:37Speaker 1: just throw them across the field like I had to
- 53:40Speaker 1: do things with my mind and body in combination. And
- 53:44Speaker 1: then you know the Pros. Every single player in the
- 53:47Speaker 1: Pros they're a black belt? Is just what degree of
- 53:50Speaker 1: black belt are they? Even the stories dude who never
- 53:53Speaker 1: gets playing time, who's on the practice squad is a
- 53:56Speaker 1: black belt? Just what degree? When you look at quarterbacks
- 53:59Speaker 1: and where they're taking in the draft, and the top
- 54:01Speaker 1: two or three will go to the worst teams usually worst.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I'll even say, uh, programs institutions when you were playing,
- 54:09Speaker 1: what quarterback did you see that probably was wasted because
- 54:12Speaker 1: he went to a bad organization and you're and you're
- 54:16Speaker 1: lined up and you're like, god, damn, this guy's actually
- 54:18Speaker 1: could be really good, but everything around him is not
- 54:20Speaker 1: and he was not able to flourish because of that. Wow,
- 54:24Speaker 1: you know, um, Carson Palmer keeps coming to mind, But
- 54:28Speaker 1: he did flourish. But I was like, yo, Carson Palmer
- 54:31Speaker 1: is a monster and not getting his proper do and
- 54:34Speaker 1: then he got hurt in the one playoff year and
- 54:37Speaker 1: game that I thought they really could do something. So
- 54:39Speaker 1: someone who didn't get their full bouquet of flowers was
- 54:43Speaker 1: Carson Palmer. I was like, that dude was a monster.
- 54:45Speaker 1: But he's in Cincinnati and they're trying to figure it out.
- 54:48Speaker 1: And didn't they get the receivers and Chad and t J.
- 54:50Speaker 1: And like they did something, but they didn't really do
- 54:53Speaker 1: what they could have done in a different situation. Carson
- 54:56Speaker 1: Palmer comes to mind. Um outside of him, man, I'm
- 55:03Speaker 1: drawing a blank man. A lot of cats. They you
- 55:06Speaker 1: can play. You can play at quarterback through the expectations
- 55:12Speaker 1: still in like of a team. If the team is
- 55:15Speaker 1: tapered here, like you're right here, but you're that quarterback.
- 55:18Speaker 1: You can drag that team to higher levels, but there
- 55:22Speaker 1: is going to be a point of exhaustion and a
- 55:24Speaker 1: point where it can't go any further. But Carson Palmer
- 55:27Speaker 1: is the guy for me. Like Matt Stafford is somebody
- 55:28Speaker 1: that I think about if he never would have got
- 55:30Speaker 1: out of Detroit, he was never going to win a championship.
- 55:34Speaker 1: And you know the Stafford. Now, I may imagine if
- 55:36Speaker 1: a healthy young Stafford, a Stafford that you still could mold,
- 55:41Speaker 1: because at this point he is who he is. But
- 55:44Speaker 1: imagine young Stafford went to out of Georgia goes to
- 55:47Speaker 1: a great program that can actually develop him. Like I
- 55:50Speaker 1: think we probably missed a little bit there because he
- 55:52Speaker 1: was in Detroit for so long. I just one again,
- 55:54Speaker 1: You've done it at the highest level for so many years. Hey,
- 55:56Speaker 1: the podcast is more to it? So what are you
- 55:59Speaker 1: talking to out constantly? Like if I'm if because I
- 56:02Speaker 1: do listen, by the way, but if two people are
- 56:05Speaker 1: listening to this, what are they going to hear when
- 56:06Speaker 1: they come over and listen, appreciate you and to listen. Um.
- 56:11Speaker 1: More to it is we're talking about sports, entertainment, culture
- 56:15Speaker 1: to athletes, about athletes, about entertainers, influential people, and what
- 56:21Speaker 1: we're trying to find out is there's more to every
- 56:23Speaker 1: single story the life lessons and experiences that come through
- 56:27Speaker 1: watching sports or watching anyone in this world in terms
- 56:31Speaker 1: of the hot button issues. So we're always trying to
- 56:35Speaker 1: go deeper than the surface level and find out what's
- 56:38Speaker 1: the motivation, what is really happening in that emotional state
- 56:42Speaker 1: that is contributed to that success. Marcel's I'm a big fan,
- 56:46Speaker 1: listen to you love it. Just super pump that you're
- 56:48Speaker 1: able to come on and just thanks man follow at
- 56:51Speaker 1: Marcel's wiley and thank you again and keep it up,
- 56:53Speaker 1: and you know I'll be there. I'll be a fan
- 56:55Speaker 1: quietly in the corner like I have been for a while.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Oh mo, man, Bob, you keep it going, brother, tremendous success,
- 57:00Speaker 1: all right, Marcella Sea Man, thank you, Thank you all.
- 57:06Speaker 1: We'll have a show for you on Friday, obviously Thanksgiving,
- 57:09Speaker 1: but we will have a show for you, and we'll
- 57:11Speaker 1: talk about all the good times and bad times. We're
- 57:13Speaker 1: gonna come in here Thanksgiving, actually Thanksgiving it keep your
- 57:16Speaker 1: calendars open from eleven to eight pm. Wow, cool man,
- 57:19Speaker 1: we'll be here right here. I can call you at
- 57:22Speaker 1: any time. I got nothing, nothing going on. Just be ready, Edny,
- 57:26Speaker 1: any any thought here? Yeah, I do have a thought.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Shame on Romo. Like I love Romo, I mean, he
- 57:33Speaker 1: did great things for the Cowboys, and I think he's
- 57:35Speaker 1: one of the best commentators right now. But man, the
- 57:38Speaker 1: way they picked on that cornerback for Minnesota. His name
- 57:42Speaker 1: was Booth Jr. Or something, And yes, the Cowboys were
- 57:44Speaker 1: picking on him. They threw to that whoever whatever receiver
- 57:47Speaker 1: he was covered. They just took advantage of that dude.
- 57:50Speaker 1: But they kept calling him out and the cameras were
- 57:53Speaker 1: zooming in on this poor dude, and he was having
- 57:55Speaker 1: the worst game of his life. And I just feel
- 57:58Speaker 1: like that was so unnecessary. Like you could bring it
- 58:00Speaker 1: up a couple of times smiling though, because I love
- 58:04Speaker 1: I love that a game plan, and for sure it
- 58:06Speaker 1: worked for the Cowboys, but god, they went hard on
- 58:09Speaker 1: that board. Every one of your guys, you'd have been like,
- 58:12Speaker 1: this sucks. Yeah, stop doing that, Get the camera off
- 58:14Speaker 1: that guy, Kevin. Yeah, Saturday, Saturday morning, Laker bones the game.
- 58:22Speaker 1: That's and we are one. And oh I had a
- 58:25Speaker 1: great time doing it and looking forward to the rest
- 58:27Speaker 1: of the season. There's a lot of fun. Listen, man,
- 58:29Speaker 1: Kevin is is really good. I needed him mostly to
- 58:33Speaker 1: kind of just manage the team. I'm not good at
- 58:35Speaker 1: subbing kids. I'm not good at remembering the sub kids.
- 58:38Speaker 1: I don't know when to call a time out. And
- 58:40Speaker 1: Kevin is the about coaching everything. But but I'm remember
- 58:45Speaker 1: I said I gotta be the head coach for three games.
- 58:48Speaker 1: He really meant all the games. I'm the face of
- 58:50Speaker 1: the team. And it's like, I don't know what to
- 58:51Speaker 1: call a player. I don't want to put a kid
- 58:53Speaker 1: in I don't even know which hole it goes in,
- 58:55Speaker 1: it's what side we're playing, So thank you, Kevin. Yeah,
- 59:00Speaker 1: well this is it. This isnt a gritty week in
- 59:02Speaker 1: college football, meaning I think there are seven Division one
- 59:07Speaker 1: jobs open, five Power five jobs? So who will go
- 59:10Speaker 1: to Auburn? Who will? Because these games in this week
- 59:14Speaker 1: it's the last week and then let's go, We'll Lane
- 59:17Speaker 1: go to Auburn. Well, who would go to Arizona State?
- 59:20Speaker 1: After her Edwards left? And there too, they may be
- 59:22Speaker 1: in some trouble as well. So Nebraska, big job, Wisconsin,
- 59:26Speaker 1: they're going to promote their interroms in But it's I
- 59:31Speaker 1: love it. I love it, love it, love it, I
- 59:33Speaker 1: love Mayhem, I just love me. I love it all
- 59:35Speaker 1: as long as that did me. I'm good. I'm good.
- 59:38Speaker 1: I love the job. So it's one of my favorite
- 59:40Speaker 1: times a year when all the new coaches picked their spots.
- 59:42Speaker 1: And we'll see you guys on Friday. Go follow at
- 59:45Speaker 1: twenty five whistles, more smiles and frowns. I hope you
- 59:47Speaker 1: guys had had some good smiles this weekend and we
- 59:50Speaker 1: will see uh at the end of the week. All right,
- 59:52Speaker 1: do you want to blow us out? You got it.
- 59:55Speaker 1: See you next time.
