• 1:42

• 1:42
  Yeah,
• 1:43
  man,
• 1:43
  thanks
• 1:43
  for
• 1:43
  having
• 1:44
  me.
• 1:45
  Always
• 1:45
  a
• 1:45
  good
• 1:45
  time,
• 1:46
  man.
• 1:46
  You
• 1:46
  and
• 1:46
  I
• 1:46
  go
• 1:47
  way
• 1:47
  back.
• 1:47
  And
• 1:48
  funny
• 1:48
  story,
• 1:48
  this
• 1:49
  last
• 1:49
  week
• 1:49
  I
• 1:50
  was
• 1:50
  on
• 1:51
  and
• 1:51
  I
• 1:51
  sent
• 1:51
  you
• 1:51
  the
• 1:52
  message,
• 1:52
  Johnny.
• 1:52
  And
• 1:52
  you
• 1:53
  probably
• 1:53
  know
• 1:53
  what
• 1:53
  I'm
• 1:53
  going
• 1:53
  to
• 1:53
  talk
• 1:54
  about
• 1:54
  here.
• 1:55
  I
• 1:55
  was
• 1:55
  back
• 1:56
  on
• 1:56
  Paramount
• 1:57
  Loss,
• 1:57
  right.
• 1:58
  The
• 1:58
  streaming
• 1:59
  service.
• 1:59
  And
• 2:00
  I
• 2:00
  went,
• 2:00
  I
• 2:00
  wonder
• 2:00
  if
• 2:01
  that
• 2:01
  HDTV
• 2:02
  show
• 2:02
  I
• 2:03
  did
• 2:03
  20
• 2:03
  plus
• 2:04
  years
• 2:04
  ago
• 2:05
  is
• 2:05
  on
• 2:05
  there.
• 2:06
  And
• 2:07
  I'm
• 2:07
  like,
• 2:07
  I
• 2:07
  hope
• 2:07
  not,
• 2:08
  but
• 2:08
  it
• 2:08
  is.
• 2:09
  And
• 2:09
  yeah,
• 2:09
  it's
• 2:10
  on
• 2:10
  there.
• 2:11
  And
• 2:12
  me
• 2:12
  and
• 2:13
  Kevin,
• 2:14
  you
• 2:14
  were
• 2:14
  working
• 2:15
  and
• 2:16
  trying
• 2:16
  to
• 2:16
  get
• 2:16
  through
• 2:17
  an
• 2:17
  HDTV
• 2:18
  show
• 2:18
  called
• 2:19
  Designer
• 2:20
  Finals.
• 2:21
  Yeah.
• 2:21
  And
• 2:22
  we
• 2:23
  were
• 2:23
  in
• 2:23
  Denver.
• 2:24
  We
• 2:24
  had
• 2:24
  the
• 2:24
  people
• 2:25
  from
• 2:25
  MTV
• 2:26
  Real
• 2:26
  World
• 2:27
  that
• 2:27
  were
• 2:27
  the
• 2:28
  producers,
• 2:29
  so
• 2:29
  they
• 2:29
  were
• 2:29
  trying
• 2:29
  to
• 2:30
  like
• 2:30
  make
• 2:31
  up
• 2:31
  all
• 2:31
  this
• 2:31
  magic.
• 2:32
  Right.
• 2:32
  Just
• 2:33
  from
• 2:34
  Real
• 2:34
  World,
• 2:34
  it's
• 2:34
  just
• 2:35
  the
• 2:35
  producers,
• 2:36
  the
• 2:36
  producers.
• 2:36
  And
• 2:37
  so
• 2:37
  they
• 2:37
  had
• 2:37
  just
• 2:38
  left
• 2:38
  that
• 2:39
  whole
• 2:39
  thing
• 2:40
  and
• 2:41
  showed
• 2:42
  up
• 2:42
  there.
• 2:42
  There
• 2:42
  was
• 2:42
  like
• 2:42
  six
• 2:43
  of
• 2:43
  them
• 2:43
  because
• 2:43
  they
• 2:43
  were
• 2:43
  trying
• 2:44
  to,
• 2:44
  okay,
• 2:44
  we're
• 2:44
  going
• 2:44
  to
• 2:45
  put
• 2:45
  all
• 2:45
  these
• 2:45
  people
• 2:45
  on
• 2:46
  doing
• 2:46
  this
• 2:46
  across
• 2:46
  the
• 2:46
  country.
• 2:47
  And
• 2:47
  so
• 2:47
  they
• 2:48
  were
• 2:48
  trying
• 2:48
  to
• 2:48
  do
• 2:48
  that.
• 2:48
  And
• 2:49
  the
• 2:49
  funny
• 2:50
  part
• 2:50
  was
• 2:50
  I've
• 2:51
  been
• 2:51
  following
• 2:52
  Pen
• 2:52
  Holderness
• 2:53
  on
• 2:53
  social
• 2:54
  media
• 2:54
  for
• 2:55
  five
• 2:55
  years
• 2:56
  laughing
• 2:56
  at
• 2:56
  what
• 2:56
  him
• 2:57
  and
• 2:57
  his
• 2:57
  wife
• 2:57
  do.
• 2:58
  And
• 2:59
  I
• 2:59
  forgot
• 2:59
  that
• 3:00
  he
• 3:00
  was
• 3:00
  the
• 3:00
  host
• 3:01
  of
• 3:01
  the
• 3:01
  show.
• 3:02
  And
• 3:02
  I'm
• 3:02
  like,
• 3:03
  ah,
• 3:03
  that's
• 3:03
  why
• 3:03
  I
• 3:04
  liked
• 3:04
  him.
• 3:04
  I
• 3:04
  worked
• 3:05
  with
• 3:05
  him.
• 3:05
  Yeah.
• 3:06
  Shows
• 3:06
  you
• 3:06
  how
• 3:06
  long
• 3:06
  ago
• 3:06
  that
• 3:07
  was.
• 3:07
  And
• 3:07
  he
• 3:07
  looks
• 3:07
  like
• 3:07
  a
• 3:08
  little
• 3:08
  kid
• 3:08
  and
• 3:08
  so
• 3:08
  do
• 3:08
  I.
• 3:09
  But
• 3:09
  pretty
• 3:10
  funny
• 3:10
  going
• 3:10
  back
• 3:10
  on
• 3:11
  the
• 3:11
  way
• 3:11
  back
• 3:11
  machine
• 3:12
  there
• 3:12
  and
• 3:12
  seeing
• 3:13
  what
• 3:13
  I
• 3:13
  was
• 3:13
  doing
• 3:13
  20
• 3:14
  years
• 3:14
  ago.
• 3:14
  And
• 3:15
  as
• 3:15
  my
• 3:15
  friends
• 3:15
  and
• 3:16
  social
• 3:16
  media
• 3:16
  posted,
• 3:17
  oh,
• 3:17
  it's
• 3:17
  baby
• 3:17
  Eric.
• 3:18
  Cute.
• 3:19
  Yeah,
• 3:19
  man,
• 3:19
  it
• 3:20
  was
• 3:20
  a
• 3:20
  trip.
• 3:20
  I
• 3:20
  see
• 3:20
  you
• 3:21
  every
• 3:21
  day
• 3:21
  pretty
• 3:21
  much.
• 3:22
  So
• 3:22
  yeah,
• 3:22
  that
• 3:23
  wasn't
• 3:23
  a
• 3:23
  shock.
• 3:23
  But
• 3:23
  seeing
• 3:24
  Kevin
• 3:24
  in
• 3:24
  that
• 3:24
  shot,
• 3:25
  I
• 3:25
  was
• 3:25
  like,
• 3:25
  oh,
• 3:26
  wow,
• 3:26
  that
• 3:26
  was
• 3:27
  a
• 3:27
  time.
• 3:28
  Yeah.
• 3:28
  They
• 3:29
  had
• 3:29
  tried
• 3:29
  to
• 3:30
  produce
• 3:30
  this
• 3:30
  show
• 3:31
  and
• 3:31
  my
• 3:31
  friend
• 3:31
  Brianne,
• 3:32
  who
• 3:32
  I'd
• 3:32
  worked
• 3:33
  with
• 3:33
  for
• 3:33
  years,
• 3:33
  she
• 3:34
  was
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  designer
• 3:35
  going
• 3:35
  through
• 3:35
  the
• 3:35
  program.
• 3:36
  And
• 3:37
  the
• 3:37
  crazy
• 3:37
  part
• 3:38
  was
• 3:38
  that
• 3:38
  when
• 3:38
  they
• 3:38
  went
• 3:39
  through
• 3:39
  that,
• 3:40
  they
• 3:40
  were
• 3:40
  trying
• 3:40
  to
• 3:41
  get
• 3:41
  me
• 3:41
  to
• 3:41
  make
• 3:41
  her
• 3:41
  cry
• 3:42
  because
• 3:42
  they
• 3:42
  wanted
• 3:42
  to
• 3:43
  make
• 3:43
  her
• 3:43
  the
• 3:44
  weak
• 3:45
  new
• 3:45
  designer.
• 3:46
  And
• 3:46
  I'm
• 3:46
  like,
• 3:46
  no,
• 3:46
  I'm
• 3:47
  not
• 3:47
  making
• 3:47
  my
• 3:47
  friend
• 3:47
  cry.
• 3:48
  Sorry.
• 3:48
  And
• 3:49
  if
• 3:49
  you
• 3:49
  want
• 3:49
  me
• 3:49
  to
• 3:49
  leave,
• 3:49
  I
• 3:50
  can
• 3:50
  go.
• 3:50
  But
• 3:50
  guess
• 3:50
  what?
• 3:50
  I'm
• 3:51
  not
• 3:51
  getting
• 3:51
  paid
• 3:51
  for
• 3:51
  this.
• 3:51
  So
• 3:52
  I.
• 3:53
  Production.
• 3:54
  Yeah.
• 3:55
  Make
• 3:55
  somebody
• 3:55
  look
• 3:55
  bad,
• 3:56
  make
• 3:56
  somebody
• 3:56
  cry.
• 3:57
  We
• 3:57
  need
• 3:57
  the
• 3:57
  drama.
• 3:57
  Come
• 3:58
  on.
• 3:58
  No
• 3:59
  way.
• 3:59
  No
• 3:59
  way.
• 4:00
  So
• 4:00
  not
• 4:00
  doing
• 4:01
  it.
• 4:01
  Not
• 4:01
  doing
• 4:02
  it.
• 4:02
  And
• 4:02
  yeah,
• 4:02
  it's
• 4:03
  one
• 4:03
  of
• 4:03
  those
• 4:03
  things
• 4:03
  that
• 4:03
  I
• 4:04
  stuck
• 4:04
  my
• 4:04
  foot
• 4:04
  in
• 4:05
  the
• 4:05
  sand.
• 4:05
  I
• 4:05
  went,
• 4:05
  no.
• 4:06
  And
• 4:07
  they
• 4:07
  set
• 4:07
  it
• 4:07
  up.
• 4:07
  They
• 4:08
  called
• 4:08
  the
• 4:08
  tile
• 4:08
  guy
• 4:09
  and
• 4:09
  made
• 4:09
  him
• 4:09
  show
• 4:09
  up
• 4:09
  a
• 4:10
  week,
• 4:10
  a
• 4:10
  day
• 4:10
  late,
• 4:11
  and
• 4:11
  you're
• 4:11
  supposed
• 4:11
  to
• 4:11
  be
• 4:11
  there
• 4:11
  on
• 4:12
  a
• 4:12
  one
• 4:12
  day
• 4:12
  and
• 4:12
  they
• 4:13
  held
• 4:13
  him
• 4:13
  off.
• 4:14
  So
• 4:14
  a
• 4:14
  lot
• 4:14
  of
• 4:15
  cool
• 4:15
  stuff
• 4:15
  going
• 4:15
  on
• 4:16
  there.
• 4:16
  So
• 4:17
  gross.
• 4:18
  It's
• 4:18
  just
• 4:18
  tv.
• 4:18
  It's
• 4:19
  what
• 4:19
  it
• 4:19
  is
• 4:19
  on
• 4:19
  that
• 4:20
  stuff.
• 4:20
  That
• 4:20
  was
• 4:20
  a
• 4:20
  long
• 4:20
  time
• 4:21
  ago,
• 4:21
  too.
• 4:21
  That's
• 4:21
  20
• 4:22
  plus
• 4:22
  years
• 4:22
  ago
• 4:22
  today.
• 4:23
  I
• 4:23
  wanted
• 4:23
  to
• 4:23
  talk
• 4:24
  about
• 4:24
  getting
• 4:24
  people
• 4:25
  into
• 4:25
  the
• 4:25
  trades.
• 4:26
  I
• 4:26
  think
• 4:26
  it's
• 4:26
  a
• 4:26
  great
• 4:26
  conversation
• 4:27
  because
• 4:27
  we've
• 4:28
  got
• 4:28
  so
• 4:28
  many
• 4:29
  issues
• 4:29
  out
• 4:29
  there
• 4:30
  with
• 4:30
  people
• 4:31
  that
• 4:31
  are
• 4:32
  really
• 4:32
  having
• 4:33
  some
• 4:33
  issues.
• 4:33
  You've
• 4:34
  got
• 4:34
  these
• 4:34
  kids
• 4:34
  going
• 4:35
  into
• 4:35
  college,
• 4:35
  getting
• 4:36
  their
• 4:36
  humanities
• 4:36
  degrees
• 4:37
  and
• 4:37
  spending
• 4:38
  six
• 4:38
  figures.
• 4:38
  And
• 4:39
  then
• 4:39
  I
• 4:39
  see
• 4:40
  them
• 4:40
  working
• 4:40
  Starbucks
• 4:41
  drive
• 4:41
  through
• 4:42
  and
• 4:42
  they're
• 4:43
  100
• 4:43
  grand
• 4:43
  in
• 4:44
  the
• 4:44
  hole
• 4:44
  because
• 4:44
  they
• 4:44
  paid
• 4:44
  for
• 4:44
  a
• 4:45
  college
• 4:45
  education
• 4:45
  that
• 4:46
  they
• 4:46
  can't
• 4:47
  use.
• 4:48
  And
• 4:48
  if
• 4:49
  they
• 4:49
  would
• 4:49
  have
• 4:49
  turned
• 4:50
  around
• 4:50
  and
• 4:51
  joined
• 4:51
  the
• 4:51
  electricians
• 4:52
  union
• 4:52
  and
• 4:53
  they'd
• 4:53
  already
• 4:54
  be
• 4:54
  a
• 4:54
  licensed
• 4:55
  electrician
• 4:55
  and
• 4:56
  making
• 4:56
  six
• 4:56
  figures
• 4:57
  and
• 4:57
  not
• 4:57
  have
• 4:57
  the
• 4:58
  college
• 4:58
  debt.
• 4:59
  It's
• 4:59
  crazy.
• 4:59
  It's
• 5:00
  crazy.
• 5:00
  And
• 5:00
  of
• 5:00
  course,
• 5:01
  all
• 5:02
  of
• 5:02
  our
• 5:02
  school
• 5:02
  districts,
• 5:03
  there's
• 5:03
  some
• 5:03
  great
• 5:03
  ones
• 5:04
  out
• 5:04
  there,
• 5:04
  but
• 5:04
  all
• 5:04
  of
• 5:05
  our
• 5:05
  school
• 5:05
  districts
• 5:05
  have
• 5:06
  really
• 5:06
  done
• 5:07
  such
• 5:07
  a
• 5:08
  poor
• 5:08
  job
• 5:08
  of
• 5:09
  getting
• 5:09
  kids
• 5:09
  ready
• 5:10
  to
• 5:10
  not
• 5:10
  go
• 5:10
  to
• 5:10
  college
• 5:11
  to
• 5:11
  go
• 5:11
  into
• 5:11
  the
• 5:11
  trades.
• 5:12
  They've
• 5:12
  all
• 5:12
  been
• 5:12
  the
• 5:13
  big
• 5:13
  business
• 5:13
  of
• 5:13
  the
• 5:14
  college
• 5:14
  education.
• 5:14
  They've
• 5:15
  been
• 5:15
  really
• 5:15
  pushing
• 5:15
  them
• 5:15
  into
• 5:16
  that.
• 5:16
  But
• 5:16
  they
• 5:16
  shut
• 5:17
  down
• 5:17
  all
• 5:17
  the
• 5:17
  wood
• 5:17
  shops,
• 5:18
  the
• 5:18
  metal
• 5:18
  shops,
• 5:18
  the
• 5:19
  welding.
• 5:20
  Are
• 5:20
  there
• 5:20
  plenty
• 5:21
  of
• 5:21
  school
• 5:21
  districts
• 5:22
  out
• 5:22
  there
• 5:22
  that
• 5:22
  are
• 5:22
  on
• 5:22
  the
• 5:23
  right
• 5:23
  path?
• 5:23
  Yeah,
• 5:24
  we
• 5:24
  had
• 5:24
  Chris
• 5:25
  Higglemotham
• 5:25
  on
• 5:26
  the
• 5:26
  show,
• 5:26
  oh,
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  month
• 5:27
  and
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  half
• 5:27
  ago,
• 5:28
  and
• 5:28
  they've
• 5:29
  been
• 5:29
  for
• 5:29
  50
• 5:29
  years
• 5:30
  they've
• 5:30
  been
• 5:30
  teaching
• 5:31
  kids
• 5:31
  how
• 5:31
  to
• 5:31
  build
• 5:32
  homes.
• 5:33
  And
• 5:33
  every
• 5:33
  year
• 5:33
  they
• 5:33
  build
• 5:34
  one
• 5:34
  home.
• 5:34
  And
• 5:34
  that's
• 5:35
  over
• 5:35
  here
• 5:35
  in
• 5:35
  Forest
• 5:36
  Grove,
• 5:36
  Oregon.
• 5:37
  But
• 5:38
  at
• 5:38
  the
• 5:38
  same
• 5:38
  time,
• 5:39
  you
• 5:39
  look
• 5:39
  in
• 5:39
  at
• 5:40
  Portland
• 5:40
  public
• 5:40
  schools
• 5:41
  in
• 5:41
  my
• 5:41
  area
• 5:42
  here,
• 5:42
  and
• 5:42
  guess
• 5:42
  what?
• 5:43
  They've
• 5:43
  pretty
• 5:43
  much
• 5:43
  taken
• 5:44
  all
• 5:44
  the
• 5:44
  wood
• 5:44
  shop
• 5:45
  classes
• 5:45
  out.
• 5:46
  And
• 5:46
  so
• 5:47
  all
• 5:47
  those
• 5:47
  things
• 5:47
  are
• 5:48
  gone.
• 5:48
  It's
• 5:49
  just
• 5:49
  insane
• 5:50
  that
• 5:51
  to
• 5:51
  fault
• 5:52
  that
• 5:52
  piece
• 5:52
  of
• 5:53
  education.
• 5:53
  And
• 5:54
  I'll
• 5:54
  bring
• 5:54
  up
• 5:54
  my
• 5:54
  little
• 5:55
  brother,
• 5:55
  who's
• 5:55
  a
• 5:55
  great
• 5:56
  example.
• 5:56
  The
• 5:57
  kid's
• 5:57
  a
• 5:57
  brilliant
• 5:57
  genius
• 5:58
  software
• 5:59
  engineer,
• 6:00
  programmer.
• 6:01
  Kid
• 6:01
  could
• 6:01
  put
• 6:02
  rockets
• 6:02
  on
• 6:02
  the
• 6:02
  moon.
• 6:03
  But
• 6:04
  ask
• 6:04
  him
• 6:04
  to
• 6:04
  get
• 6:04
  you
• 6:04
  a
• 6:04
  Phillips
• 6:05
  screwdriver
• 6:05
  and
• 6:05
  he
• 6:06
  doesn't
• 6:06
  know
• 6:06
  which
• 6:06
  one
• 6:06
  that
• 6:06
  is.
• 6:07
  Ask
• 6:08
  him
• 6:08
  to
• 6:08
  change
• 6:08
  the
• 6:08
  light
• 6:08
  bulb.
• 6:09
  He's
• 6:09
  like,
• 6:09
  how
• 6:09
  do
• 6:09
  you
• 6:09
  do
• 6:10
  that?
• 6:10
  Like,
• 6:10
  seriously.
• 6:11
  Now
• 6:11
  he's
• 6:11
  grown
• 6:12
  up,
• 6:12
  he's
• 6:12
  40
• 6:12
  now,
• 6:13
  but
• 6:13
  when
• 6:13
  he
• 6:14
  was
• 6:15
  15,
• 6:15
  16,
• 6:16
  he
• 6:16
  didn't
• 6:17
  know
• 6:17
  even
• 6:18
  up
• 6:18
  till
• 6:18
  into
• 6:19
  his
• 6:19
  30s,
• 6:19
  he'd
• 6:20
  be
• 6:20
  like,
• 6:20
  I
• 6:20
  don't
• 6:20
  know
• 6:20
  how
• 6:21
  to
• 6:21
  do
• 6:21
  that.
• 6:21
  There's
• 6:22
  so
• 6:22
  many
• 6:22
  life
• 6:22
  skills
• 6:23
  you
• 6:23
  learn
• 6:23
  within
• 6:24
  the
• 6:24
  trades.
• 6:24
  And
• 6:25
  also
• 6:25
  just
• 6:25
  being
• 6:25
  around,
• 6:25
  especially
• 6:26
  when
• 6:26
  you're
• 6:26
  young,
• 6:26
  being
• 6:27
  around
• 6:27
  grown
• 6:27
  men,
• 6:28
  that
• 6:28
  you
• 6:28
  can
• 6:28
  find
• 6:28
  a
• 6:29
  lot
• 6:29
  of
• 6:29
  good
• 6:29
  examples
• 6:29
  of
• 6:30
  integrity
• 6:30
  and
• 6:31
  pride
• 6:31
  in
• 6:31
  your
• 6:32
  work
• 6:32
  and
• 6:33
  just
• 6:33
  some
• 6:34
  foundational
• 6:34
  things
• 6:35
  that
• 6:35
  I
• 6:35
  think
• 6:35
  we
• 6:35
  need
• 6:36
  as
• 6:36
  human
• 6:36
  beings.
• 6:36
  Let's
• 6:37
  get
• 6:37
  back
• 6:37
  to
• 6:37
  building
• 6:37
  fires
• 6:38
  almost.
• 6:38
  It
• 6:38
  doesn't.
• 6:39
  You
• 6:39
  don't
• 6:39
  have
• 6:39
  to
• 6:39
  stick
• 6:40
  there,
• 6:40
  but
• 6:40
  man.
• 6:41
  Yeah,
• 6:41
  just
• 6:42
  the
• 6:42
  basics.
• 6:43
  For
• 6:43
  example,
• 6:43
  here
• 6:43
  in
• 6:44
  Columbia,
• 6:44
  they
• 6:44
  require
• 6:44
  you
• 6:45
  go
• 6:45
  to
• 6:45
  two
• 6:46
  years
• 6:46
  in
• 6:46
  the
• 6:46
  military
• 6:47
  at
• 6:47
  least.
• 6:47
  Okay,
• 6:48
  cool.
• 6:48
  Send
• 6:48
  them
• 6:48
  to
• 6:49
  two
• 6:49
  years
• 6:49
  of
• 6:49
  trade
• 6:49
  school
• 6:50
  or
• 6:50
  give
• 6:50
  them
• 6:50
  a
• 6:50
  choice
• 6:50
  or
• 6:51
  something.
• 6:51
  Go
• 6:51
  to
• 6:51
  a
• 6:51
  VO
• 6:52
  tech
• 6:52
  and
• 6:52
  learn
• 6:52
  how
• 6:52
  to
• 6:52
  roof
• 6:53
  or
• 6:53
  learn
• 6:54
  how
• 6:54
  to
• 6:54
  carpenter
• 6:55
  or
• 6:55
  something,
• 6:56
  man.
• 6:56
  It's
• 6:56
  so
• 6:57
  invaluable.
• 6:58
  And
• 6:58
  the
• 6:58
  sense
• 6:59
  of,
• 7:00
  of
• 7:00
  pride
• 7:01
  is
• 7:01
  the
• 7:01
  reward.
• 7:02
  Like
• 7:02
  when
• 7:03
  you
• 7:03
  complete
• 7:03
  something,
• 7:04
  you
• 7:04
  build
• 7:04
  something
• 7:04
  with
• 7:05
  your
• 7:05
  own
• 7:05
  two
• 7:05
  hands.
• 7:06
  Like
• 7:06
  it
• 7:06
  changes
• 7:07
  you
• 7:07
  as
• 7:07
  a
• 7:07
  person
• 7:08
  instead
• 7:08
  of
• 7:08
  just
• 7:09
  pushing
• 7:09
  buttons
• 7:09
  and
• 7:10
  letting
• 7:10
  the
• 7:10
  computer
• 7:11
  do
• 7:11
  it
• 7:11
  for
• 7:11
  you.
• 7:11
  Or.
• 7:12
  No,
• 7:12
  no,
• 7:13
  you
• 7:13
  get
• 7:13
  my
• 7:13
  point.
• 7:13
  Yeah,
• 7:14
  blah,
• 7:14
  blah.
• 7:14
  Yeah,
• 7:15
  no
• 7:15
  question,
• 7:15
  man.
• 7:15
  And
• 7:15
  that's
• 7:16
  the
• 7:16
  awesome
• 7:16
  thing
• 7:16
  is
• 7:17
  you
• 7:17
  look
• 7:17
  at
• 7:17
  it
• 7:17
  and
• 7:17
  there's
• 7:18
  so
• 7:18
  many
• 7:18
  places
• 7:19
  that
• 7:19
  are
• 7:19
  doing
• 7:19
  great.
• 7:19
  There's
• 7:20
  school
• 7:20
  districts
• 7:20
  around
• 7:20
  here,
• 7:21
  you
• 7:22
  know,
• 7:22
  that,
• 7:22
  that
• 7:22
  really
• 7:23
  do
• 7:23
  a
• 7:23
  great
• 7:23
  job.
• 7:23
  But
• 7:24
  then
• 7:24
  I
• 7:24
  look
• 7:24
  at
• 7:24
  these
• 7:24
  other
• 7:24
  big
• 7:25
  ones
• 7:25
  and
• 7:26
  you
• 7:26
  know,
• 7:26
  down
• 7:27
  in
• 7:27
  south
• 7:27
  of
• 7:28
  here
• 7:28
  in
• 7:28
  a
• 7:28
  little
• 7:29
  town
• 7:29
  called
• 7:29
  Sweet
• 7:30
  Home,
• 7:31
  these
• 7:31
  guys
• 7:31
  have
• 7:32
  a
• 7:32
  self
• 7:32
  sustaining
• 7:33
  shop
• 7:33
  program.
• 7:34
  So
• 7:35
  they
• 7:35
  have
• 7:36
  kids
• 7:36
  that
• 7:36
  are
• 7:36
  learning
• 7:36
  how
• 7:37
  to
• 7:37
  be
• 7:37
  loggers.
• 7:38
  They
• 7:38
  have
• 7:38
  logging
• 7:39
  companies
• 7:40
  donating
• 7:41
  wood
• 7:42
  trees
• 7:42
  to
• 7:43
  the
• 7:43
  wood
• 7:43
  shop.
• 7:44
  They
• 7:44
  have
• 7:45
  their
• 7:45
  own
• 7:45
  mill,
• 7:46
  so
• 7:46
  they
• 7:46
  cut
• 7:46
  their
• 7:46
  own
• 7:47
  wood.
• 7:48
  So
• 7:48
  there's
• 7:48
  no
• 7:48
  cost
• 7:49
  to
• 7:49
  entry
• 7:50
  for
• 7:51
  the
• 7:51
  kids
• 7:51
  getting
• 7:51
  into
• 7:52
  the
• 7:52
  wood
• 7:52
  shop
• 7:52
  program
• 7:53
  to
• 7:53
  learn
• 7:53
  how
• 7:54
  to
• 7:54
  build
• 7:54
  something.
• 7:55
  So
• 7:55
  cool.
• 7:56
  It's
• 7:56
  so
• 7:57
  cool.
• 7:57
  I
• 7:57
  was
• 7:57
  over
• 7:57
  there
• 7:58
  one
• 7:58
  time
• 7:58
  with
• 7:58
  Blake
• 7:59
  Manley
• 7:59
  and
• 8:00
  he
• 8:00
  was
• 8:00
  the
• 8:00
  guy
• 8:00
  that
• 8:00
  was
• 8:00
  running
• 8:01
  this.
• 8:01
  It
• 8:01
  was
• 8:01
  so
• 8:02
  cool
• 8:02
  to
• 8:02
  watch
• 8:02
  this
• 8:02
  happen.
• 8:03
  I'm
• 8:03
  watching
• 8:03
  these
• 8:03
  kids
• 8:04
  walking
• 8:04
  across.
• 8:04
  What
• 8:04
  are
• 8:05
  they
• 8:05
  doing?
• 8:05
  They're
• 8:05
  teaching
• 8:06
  them
• 8:06
  how
• 8:06
  to
• 8:06
  climb
• 8:06
  trees
• 8:07
  and
• 8:07
  Power
• 8:07
  poles.
• 8:08
  Nice.
• 8:09
  And
• 8:09
  they've
• 8:10
  got
• 8:10
  their
• 8:10
  rigs
• 8:10
  and
• 8:10
  they're
• 8:10
  running
• 8:11
  across
• 8:11
  and
• 8:11
  they're
• 8:12
  next
• 8:12
  to
• 8:12
  the
• 8:12
  football
• 8:12
  stadium.
• 8:13
  I'm
• 8:13
  like,
• 8:14
  okay,
• 8:15
  super
• 8:15
  cool.
• 8:15
  I
• 8:16
  love
• 8:16
  this.
• 8:17
  And
• 8:17
  we
• 8:17
  just
• 8:17
  need
• 8:18
  to
• 8:18
  be
• 8:18
  doing
• 8:18
  this
• 8:18
  in
• 8:19
  every
• 8:19
  single
• 8:20
  school
• 8:20
  district
• 8:20
  instead
• 8:21
  of
• 8:21
  worried
• 8:21
  about
• 8:21
  getting
• 8:21
  kids
• 8:22
  into
• 8:22
  these
• 8:22
  degrees
• 8:23
  that
• 8:24
  unfortunately
• 8:25
  they're
• 8:25
  just
• 8:25
  going
• 8:25
  to
• 8:26
  be
• 8:26
  working
• 8:26
  at
• 8:26
  Chipotle
• 8:27
  or
• 8:27
  Starbucks
• 8:27
  with
• 8:28
  them.
• 8:28
  Yeah.
• 8:29
  My
• 8:29
  little
• 8:29
  brother
• 8:29
  went
• 8:30
  to
• 8:30
  four
• 8:30
  years
• 8:30
  of
• 8:30
  college
• 8:31
  through
• 8:31
  anthropology.
• 8:32
  Told
• 8:33
  me
• 8:33
  the
• 8:33
  last
• 8:33
  time
• 8:33
  he
• 8:33
  dug
• 8:34
  up
• 8:34
  a
• 8:34
  bone.
• 8:35
  Yeah,
• 8:35
  maybe
• 8:36
  chasing
• 8:36
  the
• 8:36
  dog
• 8:36
  out
• 8:36
  in
• 8:37
  the
• 8:37
  yard,
• 8:37
  but
• 8:37
  that's
• 8:37
  about
• 8:38
  it,
• 8:38
  right?
• 8:38
  Yeah.
• 8:39
  Now
• 8:40
  getting
• 8:41
  into
• 8:41
  the
• 8:41
  trade
• 8:41
  saved
• 8:42
  my
• 8:42
  life,
• 8:42
  man.
• 8:43
  Like
• 8:43
  I
• 8:43
  was
• 8:43
  a
• 8:43
  disaster
• 8:44
  as
• 8:44
  a
• 8:44
  teenager.
• 8:45
  We
• 8:46
  won't
• 8:46
  get
• 8:46
  into
• 8:46
  details,
• 8:47
  but
• 8:47
  I
• 8:47
  joined
• 8:48
  the
• 8:48
  roofers
• 8:48
  union
• 8:48
  as
• 8:49
  what?
• 8:49
  Probably
• 8:49
  100
• 8:50
  pound,
• 8:50
  long
• 8:51
  haired,
• 8:51
  ponytail,
• 8:52
  little
• 8:52
  scrawny
• 8:53
  dude.
• 8:54
  And
• 8:54
  you
• 8:54
  pack
• 8:55
  100
• 8:55
  pound,
• 8:55
  roll
• 8:56
  a
• 8:56
  cap
• 8:56
  sheet
• 8:56
  up
• 8:57
  a
• 8:57
  40
• 8:57
  foot
• 8:57
  ladder
• 8:58
  and
• 8:58
  it
• 8:58
  grows
• 8:58
  you
• 8:58
  up.
• 8:59
  Yeah.
• 9:00
  Like,
• 9:00
  oh,
• 9:01
  this
• 9:01
  is
• 9:01
  the
• 9:01
  real
• 9:01
  deal.
• 9:02
  Okay.
• 9:03
  This
• 9:03
  is
• 9:03
  what
• 9:03
  men
• 9:03
  do.
• 9:05
  And
• 9:06
  man,
• 9:06
  I
• 9:06
  wouldn't
• 9:06
  trade
• 9:07
  it
• 9:07
  for
• 9:07
  the
• 9:07
  world.
• 9:07
  Granted
• 9:08
  I,
• 9:09
  my
• 9:09
  stepfather
• 9:09
  was
• 9:10
  in
• 9:10
  the
• 9:10
  roofers
• 9:10
  waterproofers
• 9:11
  union
• 9:11
  and
• 9:12
  he's.
• 9:12
  You
• 9:12
  start
• 9:13
  out
• 9:13
  at
• 9:13
  14
• 9:13
  bucks
• 9:14
  an
• 9:14
  hour.
• 9:14
  In
• 9:14
  1988
• 9:15
  that
• 9:16
  was,
• 9:16
  I
• 9:16
  was
• 9:16
  making
• 9:16
  6
• 9:17
  bucks
• 9:17
  an
• 9:17
  hour
• 9:17
  throwing
• 9:18
  boxes
• 9:18
  in
• 9:18
  a
• 9:18
  warehouse.
• 9:19
  I
• 9:19
  was
• 9:19
  like,
• 9:19
  frickin
• 9:19
  sign
• 9:20
  me
• 9:20
  up,
• 9:20
  dude.
• 9:20
  Can't
• 9:21
  be
• 9:21
  that
• 9:21
  bad.
• 9:22
  Yeah,
• 9:22
  it
• 9:23
  was.
• 9:24
  As
• 9:24
  soon
• 9:24
  as
• 9:25
  that
• 9:25
  40
• 9:25
  foot
• 9:25
  ladder
• 9:26
  starts
• 9:26
  getting
• 9:26
  that
• 9:27
  spring
• 9:27
  in
• 9:27
  it
• 9:27
  halfway
• 9:28
  up,
• 9:28
  that's
• 9:29
  where
• 9:29
  it
• 9:29
  starts
• 9:29
  really
• 9:29
  getting
• 9:30
  your
• 9:30
  attention.
• 9:30
  But
• 9:31
  I
• 9:31
  bought
• 9:31
  my
• 9:31
  first
• 9:31
  house
• 9:31
  at
• 9:32
  20
• 9:32
  years
• 9:32
  old,
• 9:32
  so
• 9:33
  do
• 9:33
  the
• 9:33
  math.
• 9:33
  Yeah,
• 9:34
  exactly.
• 9:34
  Instead
• 9:34
  of
• 9:35
  sitting
• 9:35
  in
• 9:35
  college
• 9:35
  wasting
• 9:36
  my
• 9:36
  money
• 9:36
  on
• 9:36
  booze
• 9:37
  or
• 9:37
  whatever.
• 9:38
  Absolutely.
• 9:38
  I
• 9:38
  tell
• 9:39
  you
• 9:39
  what,
• 9:39
  some
• 9:39
  of
• 9:39
  the,
• 9:39
  before
• 9:40
  we
• 9:40
  go
• 9:40
  out
• 9:40
  to
• 9:40
  break
• 9:40
  here,
• 9:41
  some
• 9:41
  of
• 9:41
  the
• 9:41
  women
• 9:41
  out
• 9:42
  there
• 9:42
  that
• 9:42
  are
• 9:42
  in
• 9:42
  the
• 9:42
  trades,
• 9:43
  I
• 9:43
  tell
• 9:43
  you
• 9:43
  what,
• 9:44
  I
• 9:44
  have
• 9:44
  friends
• 9:44
  that
• 9:45
  are
• 9:45
  female
• 9:46
  woodworkers
• 9:46
  that
• 9:47
  run
• 9:47
  circles
• 9:48
  around
• 9:48
  me
• 9:49
  in
• 9:49
  their
• 9:49
  skill.
• 9:50
  Yeah,
• 9:51
  it's
• 9:51
  just
• 9:51
  insane
• 9:52
  out
• 9:52
  there.
• 9:52
  And
• 9:53
  the
• 9:53
  diversity
• 9:53
  now
• 9:54
  is
• 9:54
  so
• 9:54
  cool
• 9:54
  to
• 9:54
  watch.
• 9:55
  Yeah,
• 9:56
  it's
• 9:56
  nice,
• 9:57
  it's
• 9:57
  super
• 9:57
  cool.
• 9:58
  Hey,
• 9:58
  when
• 9:58
  we
• 9:58
  come
• 9:58
  back,
• 9:59
  we're
• 9:59
  going
• 9:59
  to
• 9:59
  talk
• 9:59
  more
• 9:59
  about
• 10:00
  getting
• 10:00
  kids
• 10:00
  in
• 10:00
  the
• 10:00
  trades
• 10:01
  and
• 10:01
  what
• 10:01
  we
• 10:02
  can
• 10:02
  do
• 10:02
  to
• 10:02
  make
• 10:02
  that
• 10:03
  change.
• 10:03
  And
• 10:03
  that
• 10:03
  way
• 10:04
  things
• 10:04
  are
• 10:04
  more
• 10:04
  affordable
• 10:05
  for
• 10:05
  you
• 10:05
  out
• 10:05
  there.
• 10:06
  Because
• 10:06
  I
• 10:06
  tell
• 10:06
  you
• 10:06
  what,
• 10:07
  right
• 10:07
  now
• 10:07
  those
• 10:07
  wages
• 10:08
  are
• 10:08
  going
• 10:08
  up
• 10:08
  and
• 10:09
  up
• 10:09
  and
• 10:09
  that
• 10:09
  means
• 10:10
  every
• 10:10
  time
• 10:10
  that
• 10:10
  you
• 10:10
  hire
• 10:11
  them
• 10:11
  for
• 10:11
  your
• 10:11
  house,
• 10:12
  that's
• 10:12
  getting
• 10:12
  more
• 10:13
  expensive.
• 10:13
  We'll
• 10:13
  do
• 10:13
  that
• 10:14
  just
• 10:14
  as
• 10:14
  soon
• 10:14
  as
• 10:15
  around
• 10:15
  the
• 10:15
  house
• 10:15
  returns.
• 10:16
  Don't
• 10:16
  change
• 10:16
  that
• 10:17
  dial.
• 10:17
  To
• 10:17
  find
• 10:17
  out
• 10:18
  more
• 10:18
  information,
• 10:18
  head
• 10:19
  to
• 10:19
  aroundthehouse
• 10:20
  online
• 10:20
  dot
• 10:20
  com.
• 10:21
  Don't
• 10:21
  change
• 10:22
  that
• 10:22
  dial
• 10:23
  around
• 10:23
  the
• 10:23
  house.
• 10:23
  We'll
• 10:24
  be
• 10:24
  Right
• 10:24
  back
• 10:24
  after
• 10:25
  these
• 10:25
  important
• 10:25
  messages.
• 11:55
  Welcome
• 11:55
  back
• 11:56
  to
• 11:56
  the
• 11:56
  around
• 11:56
  the
• 11:56
  House
• 11:56
  show.
• 11:57
  The
• 11:57
  next
• 11:57
  generation
• 11:58
  of
• 11:58
  home
• 11:58
  improvement.
• 11:59
  I'm
• 11:59
  Eric
• 11:59
  G.
• 12:00
  And
• 12:01
  then
• 12:01
  here
• 12:01
  we
• 12:01
  got
• 12:02
  Johnny
• 12:02
  D.
• 12:04
  I
• 12:04
  need
• 12:05
  a
• 12:05
  little
• 12:05
  bell
• 12:05
  to
• 12:05
  ring
• 12:05
  or
• 12:06
  something.
• 12:06
  Absolutely.
• 12:07
  I
• 12:07
  want
• 12:07
  a
• 12:07
  kazoo.
• 12:08
  Okay,
• 12:09
  we
• 12:09
  got
• 12:09
  sound
• 12:09
  effects.
• 12:10
  We'll
• 12:10
  see
• 12:10
  what
• 12:10
  we
• 12:10
  can
• 12:10
  do
• 12:10
  for
• 12:10
  you
• 12:11
  here.
• 12:11
  And
• 12:11
  Johnny
• 12:12
  and
• 12:12
  I,
• 12:12
  we
• 12:12
  go
• 12:12
  back
• 12:13
  20
• 12:13
  something
• 12:14
  years.
• 12:14
  We
• 12:14
  played
• 12:15
  in
• 12:15
  a
• 12:15
  band
• 12:15
  together.
• 12:16
  We've.
• 12:17
  I
• 12:17
  was
• 12:17
  his
• 12:17
  kitchen
• 12:18
  a
• 12:18
  bath
• 12:18
  designer
• 12:19
  when
• 12:19
  he
• 12:19
  was
• 12:19
  a
• 12:19
  contractor.
• 12:20
  So
• 12:20
  we've
• 12:20
  been
• 12:21
  through
• 12:21
  the
• 12:21
  trenches
• 12:21
  on
• 12:21
  this
• 12:22
  stuff.
• 12:22
  Yeah,
• 12:23
  man.
• 12:23
  And
• 12:23
  what
• 12:23
  got
• 12:24
  you
• 12:24
  sucked
• 12:24
  into
• 12:24
  the
• 12:24
  trades
• 12:25
  in
• 12:25
  the
• 12:25
  first
• 12:25
  place?
• 12:26
  You
• 12:26
  know,
• 12:26
  it's
• 12:27
  funny.
• 12:27
  So
• 12:28
  I
• 12:28
  grew
• 12:28
  up
• 12:28
  working
• 12:28
  with
• 12:29
  my
• 12:29
  dad
• 12:29
  on
• 12:29
  stuff.
• 12:30
  I
• 12:30
  watched
• 12:31
  this
• 12:31
  old
• 12:31
  house
• 12:32
  as
• 12:32
  a
• 12:32
  kid,
• 12:32
  first
• 12:32
  season,
• 12:33
  probably
• 12:33
  eight.
• 12:34
  My
• 12:35
  dad
• 12:35
  was
• 12:35
  cool.
• 12:35
  He
• 12:36
  got
• 12:36
  a

  hold
• 12:36
  of
• 12:37
  the
• 12:37
  TV
• 12:37
  station
• 12:38
  there
• 12:38
  in
• 12:38
  Boston
• 12:39
  and
• 12:39
  had
• 12:39
  out
• 12:39
  the
• 12:40
  plan
• 12:40
  shipped
• 12:40
  out
• 12:41
  so
• 12:41
  I
• 12:41
  could
• 12:41
  follow
• 12:41
  him
• 12:42
  on
• 12:42
  the.
• 12:42
  Sitting
• 12:42
  on
• 12:42
  the
• 12:43
  floor
• 12:43
  in
• 12:43
  front
• 12:43
  of
• 12:43
  the
• 12:44
  tv,
• 12:44

• 12:45

• 12:45
  that
• 12:45
  big
• 12:45
  wood
• 12:45
  console
• 12:46
  tv,
• 12:46
  watching
• 12:47
  stuff.
• 12:47
  And
• 12:48
  I
• 12:48
  got
• 12:48
  away
• 12:49
  through
• 12:49
  that
• 12:49
  and
• 12:50
  we
• 12:50
  had
• 12:51
  a
• 12:51
  great
• 12:51
  time
• 12:51
  working
• 12:51
  on
• 12:51
  projects.
• 12:52
  You
• 12:52
  know,
• 12:53
  we
• 12:53
  did
• 12:53
  a
• 12:53
  lot
• 12:53
  of
• 12:54
  stuff.
• 12:55
  So
• 12:55
  what
• 12:55
  we
• 12:55
  did
• 12:56
  is
• 12:57
  we
• 12:57
  did
• 12:57
  a
• 12:57
  lot
• 12:57
  of
• 12:57
  remodeling,
• 12:58
  worked
• 12:58
  on
• 12:58
  cars.
• 12:59
  My
• 12:59
  dad
• 12:59
  and
• 12:59
  I
• 12:59
  were
• 13:00
  just
• 13:00
  super
• 13:00
  cool
• 13:00
  that
• 13:01
  way.
• 13:01
  But
• 13:02
  my
• 13:02
  jam
• 13:03
  was
• 13:03
  playing
• 13:04
  music
• 13:04
  or
• 13:04
  working
• 13:04
  on
• 13:05
  radio.
• 13:05
  And
• 13:05
  so
• 13:06
  I
• 13:06
  took
• 13:06
  radio
• 13:07
  TV
• 13:07
  production
• 13:08
  and
• 13:09
  didn't
• 13:09
  get
• 13:09
  back
• 13:09
  into
• 13:10
  the
• 13:10
  trades
• 13:10
  until
• 13:11
  after
• 13:12
  taking
• 13:12
  some
• 13:12
  community
• 13:13
  college.
• 13:14
  And
• 13:15
  I
• 13:15
  actually
• 13:15
  busted
• 13:16
  my
• 13:16
  knee
• 13:16
  up
• 13:17
  and
• 13:17
  they
• 13:17
  went,
• 13:17
  hey,
• 13:18
  you
• 13:18
  want
• 13:18
  to
• 13:18
  be
• 13:18
  a
• 13:18
  kitchen
• 13:19
  designer
• 13:19
  over
• 13:19
  there
• 13:19
  in
• 13:19
  the
• 13:19
  kitchen
• 13:20
  design
• 13:20
  department
• 13:20
  since
• 13:21
  you're
• 13:21
  in
• 13:21
  a
• 13:21
  wheelchair
• 13:22
  and
• 13:22
  you're
• 13:22
  going
• 13:22
  to
• 13:22
  be
• 13:22
  in
• 13:22
  that
• 13:22
  for
• 13:22
  a
• 13:23
  bit
• 13:23
  with
• 13:23
  your
• 13:24
  ACL
• 13:24
  surgery?
• 13:25
  And
• 13:25
  I'm
• 13:25
  like,
• 13:26
  sure.
• 13:26
  I
• 13:26
  took
• 13:26
  architectural
• 13:27
  classes
• 13:27
  in
• 13:28
  college
• 13:28
  and
• 13:28
  high
• 13:28
  school.
• 13:29
  It
• 13:29
  sounds
• 13:29
  fun.
• 13:31
  So
• 13:31
  sure
• 13:31
  enough,
• 13:32
  started
• 13:32
  doing
• 13:32
  that.
• 13:33
  And
• 13:33
  I
• 13:33
  made
• 13:33
  a
• 13:34
  killing
• 13:34
  in
• 13:34
  the
• 13:34
  early
• 13:35
  90s
• 13:36
  working
• 13:36
  for
• 13:36
  this
• 13:36
  chain
• 13:37
  called
• 13:37
  Eagle
• 13:37
  Hardware
• 13:38
  and
• 13:38
  Garden.
• 13:38
  I
• 13:38
  was
• 13:38
  making
• 13:39
  in
• 13:39
  the
• 13:40
  90s
• 13:40
  with
• 13:40
  commissions.
• 13:41
  I
• 13:41
  was
• 13:41
  making
• 13:42
  70,
• 13:43
  80,000
• 13:43
  bucks
• 13:44
  a
• 13:44
  year
• 13:45
  in
• 13:45
  the
• 13:45
  Tri
• 13:45
  Cities
• 13:46
  in
• 13:46
  eastern
• 13:46
  Washington.
• 13:48
  Lowe's
• 13:48
  ended
• 13:49
  up
• 13:49
  buying
• 13:49
  them
• 13:49
  out.
• 13:49
  But
• 13:49
  you
• 13:50
  made
• 13:50
  commission.
• 13:50
  And
• 13:51
  so
• 13:51
  I
• 13:51
  was
• 13:51
  out
• 13:51
  there
• 13:52
  selling
• 13:53
  cabinet
• 13:53
  packages
• 13:54
  to,
• 13:54
  like,
• 13:54
  schools
• 13:55
  that
• 13:55
  were
• 13:55
  getting
• 13:55
  remodeled
• 13:56
  and
• 13:57
  was
• 13:57
  cranking
• 13:58
  out
• 13:58
  stuff,
• 13:58
  made
• 13:59
  a
• 13:59
  ton
• 13:59
  of
• 13:59
  money.
• 14:00
  And
• 14:01
  that's
• 14:01
  the
• 14:01
  road
• 14:01
  that
• 14:01
  I
• 14:02
  went
• 14:02
  down.
• 14:03
  And
• 14:04
  it
• 14:04
  worked
• 14:04
  out
• 14:05
  really
• 14:05
  well.
• 14:05
  And
• 14:06
  I
• 14:07
  would
• 14:07
  have
• 14:07
  been
• 14:07
  just.
• 14:08
  I
• 14:08
  don't
• 14:08
  know
• 14:08
  what
• 14:08
  I
• 14:09
  would
• 14:09
  have.
• 14:09
  What
• 14:09
  kind
• 14:09
  of
• 14:09
  trouble
• 14:10
  I
• 14:10
  would
• 14:10
  have
• 14:10
  gotten
• 14:10
  into
• 14:10
  if
• 14:11
  I
• 14:11
  hadn't
• 14:11
  learned
• 14:12
  all
• 14:12
  that
• 14:12
  stuff.
• 14:12
  I
• 14:12
  took
• 14:13
  welding,
• 14:13
  I
• 14:13
  took
• 14:14
  all
• 14:14
  the
• 14:14
  different
• 14:14
  trade
• 14:14
  stuff.
• 14:15
  I
• 14:15
  technically
• 14:16
  have
• 14:16
  my
• 14:16
  degree
• 14:17
  in
• 14:17
  autobody,
• 14:17
  so
• 14:18
  I
• 14:18
  could
• 14:18
  learn
• 14:18
  how
• 14:18
  to
• 14:18
  work
• 14:19
  on
• 14:19
  hot
• 14:19
  rods.
• 14:19
  But
• 14:20
  that
• 14:20
  was
• 14:21
  not
• 14:21
  what
• 14:21
  I
• 14:21
  was
• 14:21
  trying
• 14:21
  to
• 14:22
  do.
• 14:22
  I
• 14:22
  just
• 14:22
  wanted
• 14:22
  to
• 14:22
  do
• 14:23
  radio.
• 14:23
  And
• 14:23
  then
• 14:23
  I
• 14:24
  figured
• 14:24
  out
• 14:24
  in
• 14:25
  1989
• 14:26
  that
• 14:27
  I
• 14:27
  would
• 14:28
  starve
• 14:28
  to
• 14:28
  death.
• 14:28
  I
• 14:29
  could
• 14:29
  make
• 14:29
  a
• 14:29
  dollar
• 14:29
  more
• 14:29
  at
• 14:30
  McDonald's
• 14:30
  cooking
• 14:31
  fries
• 14:31
  than
• 14:31
  I
• 14:31
  could
• 14:32
  working
• 14:32
  on
• 14:32
  radio
• 14:32
  in
• 14:33
  eastern
• 14:33
  Washington.
• 14:33
  So
• 14:33
  I
• 14:34
  was
• 14:34
  like,
• 14:34
  okay,
• 14:34
  is
• 14:35
  not
• 14:35
  the
• 14:35
  career
• 14:35
  for
• 14:35
  living.
• 14:36
  I've
• 14:36
  lived
• 14:36
  a
• 14:37
  great
• 14:37
  life
• 14:37
  so
• 14:38
  far.
• 14:38
  And
• 14:38
  halfway
• 14:39
  through
• 14:39
  it
• 14:39
  with
• 14:39
  all
• 14:40
  the
• 14:40
  cool
• 14:40
  things
• 14:40
  that
• 14:41
  you
• 14:41
  could
• 14:41
  do
• 14:42
  as
• 14:42
  a
• 14:42
  kitchen
• 14:42
  and
• 14:42
  bath
• 14:42
  designer.
• 14:43
  And
• 14:43
  35
• 14:44
  years
• 14:44
  later
• 14:44
  after
• 14:45
  that,
• 14:45
  I'm
• 14:46
  happy
• 14:46
  I
• 14:46
  did.
• 14:46
  But
• 14:47
  man,
• 14:47
  I
• 14:47
  tell
• 14:47
  you
• 14:47
  what,
• 14:48
  I'm
• 14:48
  watching
• 14:48
  kids
• 14:49
  now
• 14:49
  that
• 14:49
  are
• 14:49
  starting
• 14:49
  to
• 14:49
  get
• 14:50
  into
• 14:51
  H
• 14:51
  VAC
• 14:52
  and
• 14:52
  electrical
• 14:53
  and
• 14:53
  framing
• 14:54
  and
• 14:54
  plumbing
• 14:54
  and
• 14:55
  tile
• 14:56
  setting
• 14:56
  and
• 14:56
  concrete
• 14:57
  work.
• 14:58
  And
• 14:58
  if
• 14:59
  I'd
• 14:59
  have
• 14:59
  done
• 14:59
  that
• 14:59
  back
• 15:00
  then,
• 15:00
  I'd
• 15:00
  probably
• 15:00
  have
• 15:01
  even
• 15:01
  more
• 15:01
  money
• 15:02
  in
• 15:02
  my
• 15:02
  back
• 15:02
  pocket
• 15:03
  right
• 15:03
  now.
• 15:03
  Probably
• 15:04
  made
• 15:04
  some
• 15:04
  better
• 15:04
  decisions
• 15:05
  along
• 15:05
  the
• 15:05
  way
• 15:05
  because
• 15:06
  I'd
• 15:06
  had
• 15:06
  the
• 15:06
  money
• 15:06
  to
• 15:06
  do
• 15:07
  it.
• 15:07
  Yeah,
• 15:08
  My
• 15:08
  little
• 15:08
  brother
• 15:09
  Joey.
• 15:10
  Yeah.
• 15:11
  So
• 15:11
  one's
• 15:12
  a
• 15:12
  genius
• 15:12
  software
• 15:12
  engineer.
• 15:13
  And
• 15:13
  then
• 15:13
  Joey
• 15:14
  gets
• 15:14
  into
• 15:14
  the
• 15:15
  insulators
• 15:15
  union.
• 15:16
  Yeah.
• 15:16
  Wrapping
• 15:16
  pipes
• 15:17
  at
• 15:17
  Sea
• 15:17
  Tac
• 15:18
  airport
• 15:18
  and
• 15:18
  things
• 15:18
  like
• 15:19
  that.
• 15:20
  And
• 15:20
  he's
• 15:20
  just
• 15:20
  a
• 15:20
  hustler.
• 15:21
  This
• 15:21
  little
• 15:21
  kid
• 15:21
  used
• 15:22
  to
• 15:22
  wake
• 15:22
  me
• 15:22
  up
• 15:22
  when
• 15:23
  he
• 15:23
  was.
• 15:24
  He
• 15:24
  must
• 15:24
  have
• 15:24
  been
• 15:25
  10
• 15:25
  when
• 15:25
  he
• 15:25
  started
• 15:25
  to
• 15:26
  go.
• 15:26
  Going
• 15:26
  to
• 15:27
  work
• 15:27
  with
• 15:27
  me
• 15:27
  on
• 15:27
  remodels.
• 15:28
  Yeah,
• 15:29
  he
• 15:29
  was
• 15:29
  just
• 15:29
  jacked
• 15:30
  up
• 15:30
  every
• 15:30
  day,
• 15:30
  man,
• 15:31
  he'd
• 15:31
  come
• 15:31
  wake
• 15:31
  me
• 15:31
  up,
• 15:32
  he's,
• 15:32
  I
• 15:32
  got
• 15:32
  the
• 15:32
  lunches
• 15:33
  packed,
• 15:33
  let's
• 15:33
  go,
• 15:33
  let's
• 15:34
  rock.
• 15:35
  I'm
• 15:35
  like,
• 15:35
  this
• 15:35
  kid
• 15:36
  is
• 15:36
  in.
• 15:36
  Where
• 15:36
  does
• 15:36
  this
• 15:37
  come
• 15:37
  from?
• 15:37
  From
• 15:37
  a
• 15:37
  10
• 15:38
  year
• 15:38
  old.
• 15:39
  And
• 15:39
  yeah,
• 15:40
  man,
• 15:40
  he
• 15:40
  got
• 15:41
  into
• 15:41
  the
• 15:41
  trades.
• 15:43
  And
• 15:43
  at
• 15:43
  35
• 15:44
  years.
• 15:44
  He's
• 15:44
  been
• 15:45
  running
• 15:45
  crews
• 15:45
  since
• 15:46
  he
• 15:46
  was
• 15:46
  27
• 15:47
  now.
• 15:47
  Yeah,
• 15:48
  got
• 15:49
  his
• 15:49
  own
• 15:49
  work
• 15:49
  truck,
• 15:50
  got
• 15:50
  an
• 15:51
  RV,
• 15:51
  got
• 15:51
  a
• 15:51
  big
• 15:52
  farms
• 15:52
  worth
• 15:52
  a
• 15:52
  million
• 15:53
  bucks.
• 15:53
  Got
• 15:53
  two
• 15:54
  kids
• 15:54
  and
• 15:54
  a
• 15:54
  wife,
• 15:55
  not
• 15:55
  a
• 15:55
  care
• 15:55
  in
• 15:56
  the
• 15:56
  world.
• 15:56
  Fully
• 15:57
  vested,
• 15:57
  gonna
• 15:58
  have
• 15:58
  a
• 15:58
  decent
• 15:58
  pension,
• 15:59
  like
• 15:59
  at
• 16:00
  35
• 16:00
  years
• 16:00
  old.
• 16:01
  Yeah,
• 16:02
  that's
• 16:02
  crazy.
• 16:03
  You're
• 16:03
  just
• 16:03
  getting
• 16:03
  out
• 16:04
  of
• 16:04
  med
• 16:04
  school.
• 16:04
  Yeah,
• 16:05
  yeah,
• 16:06
  it's
• 16:06
  crazy.
• 16:07
  And
• 16:07
  living
• 16:08
  a
• 16:08
  good
• 16:08
  life.
• 16:08
  And
• 16:09
  so
• 16:09
  I
• 16:09
  just
• 16:09
  feel
• 16:09
  bad
• 16:10
  for
• 16:10
  the
• 16:10
  kids
• 16:10
  out
• 16:10
  there.
• 16:11
  And
• 16:11
  really
• 16:11
  there's
• 16:12
  such
• 16:12
  a
• 16:12
  great
• 16:12
  program,
• 16:13
  especially
• 16:13
  with
• 16:14
  the
• 16:14
  unions
• 16:14
  that
• 16:15
  you've
• 16:15
  got
• 16:15
  out
• 16:15
  there.
• 16:15
  There's
• 16:16
  trade
• 16:16
  schools
• 16:16
  out
• 16:16
  there
• 16:17
  you
• 16:17
  can
• 16:17
  do
• 16:17
  as
• 16:17
  well.
• 16:18
  There's
• 16:19
  so
• 16:19
  many
• 16:19
  great
• 16:19
  programs
• 16:20
  out
• 16:20
  there
• 16:21
  for
• 16:21
  people
• 16:21
  to
• 16:21
  get
• 16:22
  into
• 16:22
  this
• 16:22
  stuff.
• 16:23
  And
• 16:23
  I
• 16:24
  remember
• 16:24
  Handyman
• 16:24
  Bob,
• 16:25
  who
• 16:25
  was
• 16:25
  the
• 16:26
  precursor
• 16:27
  to
• 16:27
  me
• 16:27
  on
• 16:27
  this
• 16:27
  show.
• 16:27
  He
• 16:28
  was
• 16:28
  the
• 16:29
  one
• 16:29
  of
• 16:29
  the
• 16:29
  OGs
• 16:30
  of
• 16:30
  around
• 16:30
  the
• 16:30
  house
• 16:30
  here.
• 16:31
  And
• 16:32
  he.
• 16:32
  For
• 16:33
  a
• 16:33
  year
• 16:33
  it
• 16:33
  was.
• 16:34
  Or
• 16:34
  year
• 16:34
  plus,
• 16:35
  about
• 16:35
  a
• 16:35
  decade
• 16:36
  ago,
• 16:36
  it
• 16:36
  was
• 16:36
  around
• 16:37
  the
• 16:37
  house
• 16:37
  with
• 16:37
  Handyman
• 16:37
  Bob
• 16:38
  and
• 16:38
  Eric
• 16:38
  G.
• 16:38
  And
• 16:39
  he
• 16:39
  handed
• 16:39
  the
• 16:39
  torch
• 16:39
  to
• 16:40
  me.
• 16:40
  And
• 16:40
  37
• 16:41
  years
• 16:41
  later,
• 16:42
  the
• 16:42
  show's
• 16:42
  still
• 16:43
  going
• 16:43
  on.
• 16:43
  But
• 16:44
  he
• 16:44
  was
• 16:44
  at
• 16:44
  a
• 16:45
  trades
• 16:45
  thing
• 16:45
  and
• 16:46
  in
• 16:46
  the
• 16:46
  Portland
• 16:46
  public
• 16:46
  schools
• 16:47
  here
• 16:47
  in
• 16:47
  Oregon,
• 16:48
  where
• 16:48
  we
• 16:48
  are,
• 16:49
  showed
• 16:50
  up
• 16:51
  and
• 16:51
  the.
• 16:52
  It
• 16:52
  was
• 16:52
  a
• 16:52
  trades
• 16:53
  day
• 16:53
  at
• 16:53
  the
• 16:53
  high
• 16:54
  school
• 16:54
  in.
• 16:55
  The
• 16:55
  principal
• 16:55
  introduced
• 16:56
  the
• 16:56
  plumber
• 16:57
  and
• 16:57
  said,
• 16:57
  all
• 16:57
  right,
• 16:57
  kids,
• 16:58
  if
• 16:58
  you
• 16:58
  don't
• 16:59
  do
• 17:00
  great
• 17:00
  in
• 17:00
  school,
• 17:01
  you're
• 17:01
  not
• 17:01
  gonna
• 17:01
  be.
• 17:02
  You
• 17:02
  could
• 17:02
  always
• 17:03
  be
• 17:03
  a
• 17:03
  plumber
• 17:03
  like
• 17:04
  this
• 17:04
  guy.
• 17:05
  And
• 17:05
  introduced
• 17:06
  him
• 17:07
  that
• 17:07
  way.
• 17:07
  Oh,
• 17:08
  yeah.
• 17:08
  Oh,
• 17:09
  you
• 17:09
  son
• 17:09
  of
• 17:10
  a
• 17:10
  gun.
• 17:11
  Yes.
• 17:12
  Actually,
• 17:12
  the
• 17:12
  guy
• 17:12
  gets
• 17:13
  up
• 17:13
  on
• 17:13
  stage,
• 17:14
  from
• 17:14
  what
• 17:14
  I
• 17:14
  was
• 17:14
  told,
• 17:15
  principal's
• 17:15
  making.
• 17:16
  A
• 17:16
  third
• 17:16
  of
• 17:16
  what
• 17:17
  that
• 17:17
  plumber's
• 17:17
  making,
• 17:17
  by
• 17:18
  the
• 17:18
  way.
• 17:19
  He
• 17:19
  comes
• 17:19
  up
• 17:19
  and
• 17:19
  goes,
• 17:20
  hey,
• 17:20
  I
• 17:20
  got
• 17:20
  a
• 17:20
  boat,
• 17:21
  I
• 17:21
  got
• 17:22
  a
• 17:22
  big
• 17:22
  house.
• 17:22
  I
• 17:23
  got
• 17:23
  all
• 17:23
  this
• 17:23
  stuff.
• 17:24
  I
• 17:24
  make
• 17:24
  twice
• 17:25
  as
• 17:25
  much
• 17:25
  as
• 17:25
  your
• 17:25
  principal.
• 17:26
  So
• 17:26
  if
• 17:27
  you
• 17:27
  want
• 17:27
  to
• 17:27
  get
• 17:27
  into
• 17:28
  education,
• 17:28
  you
• 17:28
  don't
• 17:29
  really
• 17:29
  want
• 17:29
  to
• 17:29
  do
• 17:29
  much.
• 17:30
  You
• 17:30
  can
• 17:30
  always
• 17:31
  be
• 17:31
  a
• 17:31
  principal
• 17:31
  at
• 17:32
  high
• 17:32
  school
• 17:32
  and
• 17:32
  deal
• 17:32
  with
• 17:32
  kids
• 17:33
  like
• 17:33
  this.
• 17:34
  Or
• 17:34
  you
• 17:34
  could
• 17:34
  go
• 17:35
  out
• 17:35
  on
• 17:35
  the
• 17:35
  river
• 17:35
  and
• 17:35
  go
• 17:36
  skiing
• 17:36
  with
• 17:36
  me.
• 17:37
  Sweet.
• 17:38
  It
• 17:38
  just
• 17:39
  tore
• 17:39
  him
• 17:39
  right
• 17:39
  back
• 17:40
  down
• 17:40
  again.
• 17:40
  But
• 17:40
  it
• 17:40
  was
• 17:41
  way
• 17:41
  to
• 17:41
  own
• 17:41
  it,
• 17:42
  man.
• 17:42
  That's
• 17:42
  awesome.
• 17:42
  Yeah,
• 17:43
  that's
• 17:44
  how
• 17:44
  you
• 17:44
  and
• 17:44
  I
• 17:44
  would
• 17:44
  have
• 17:44
  handled
• 17:45
  it,
• 17:45
  too.
• 17:45
  I'd
• 17:46
  have
• 17:46
  been
• 17:46
  like,
• 17:46
  oh,
• 17:46
  really?
• 17:47
  All
• 17:47
  right,
• 17:47
  game
• 17:47
  on.
• 17:48
  Here
• 17:48
  we
• 17:48
  go.
• 17:48
  Let's
• 17:49
  talk
• 17:49
  principal.
• 17:50
  Ah,
• 17:50
  geez.
• 17:51
  I'd
• 17:52
  have
• 17:52
  schooled
• 17:52
  that
• 17:52
  principal.
• 17:53
  That
• 17:53
  have
• 17:53
  been
• 17:53
  good.
• 17:54
  That
• 17:54
  have
• 17:54
  been
• 17:54
  good.
• 17:54
  But
• 17:55
  that's
• 17:55
  our
• 17:55
  problem
• 17:56
  that
• 17:56
  we
• 17:56
  have
• 17:56
  in
• 17:56
  so
• 17:57
  many
• 17:57
  of
• 17:57
  these
• 17:57
  schools
• 17:57
  is
• 17:58
  the.
• 17:59
  I
• 17:59
  always
• 17:59
  call
• 17:59
  it
• 18:00
  the
• 18:00
  big
• 18:00
  business
• 18:00
  of
• 18:00
  a
• 18:01
  college
• 18:01
  education.
• 18:02
  We
• 18:02
  gotta
• 18:03
  have
• 18:03
  doctors,
• 18:03
  we
• 18:03
  gotta
• 18:04
  have
• 18:04
  all
• 18:04
  the
• 18:04
  stuff
• 18:05
  out
• 18:05
  there.
• 18:05
  We
• 18:05
  gotta
• 18:05
  have
• 18:05
  scientists.
• 18:06
  Totally
• 18:06
  get
• 18:06
  it.
• 18:07
  But
• 18:08
  every
• 18:08
  kid
• 18:08
  does
• 18:09
  not
• 18:09
  need
• 18:09
  to
• 18:09
  go
• 18:09
  to
• 18:10
  College.
• 18:11
  Yeah,
• 18:11
  there's
• 18:12
  30
• 18:12
  or
• 18:12
  40%
• 18:13
  of
• 18:13
  those
• 18:13
  people.
• 18:13
  I
• 18:14
  like
• 18:14
  what
• 18:14
  they
• 18:14
  do
• 18:15
  in
• 18:15
  Europe.
• 18:16
  I
• 18:16
  know
• 18:16
  some
• 18:16
  kids
• 18:17
  in
• 18:17
  Europe
• 18:17
  over
• 18:17
  there.
• 18:17
  And
• 18:18
  I'm
• 18:18
  not
• 18:18
  going
• 18:18
  to
• 18:18
  get
• 18:18
  into
• 18:18
  the
• 18:18
  countries
• 18:19
  and
• 18:19
  the
• 18:19
  politics
• 18:19
  and
• 18:20
  all
• 18:20
  that
• 18:20
  stuff
• 18:20
  because
• 18:20
  we
• 18:21
  don't
• 18:21
  do
• 18:21
  that
• 18:21
  here.
• 18:22
  But
• 18:22
  in
• 18:22
  some
• 18:22
  of
• 18:23
  those
• 18:23
  European
• 18:23
  countries,
• 18:23
  they
• 18:24
  come
• 18:24
  up
• 18:24
  and
• 18:24
  they
• 18:24
  look
• 18:24
  at
• 18:24
  your
• 18:25
  test
• 18:25
  scores
• 18:25
  and
• 18:25
  go,
• 18:25
  you're
• 18:26
  not
• 18:26
  going
• 18:26
  to
• 18:26
  be
• 18:27
  a
• 18:27
  scientist,
• 18:28
  you're
• 18:29
  not
• 18:29
  going
• 18:29
  to
• 18:29
  be
• 18:30
  a
• 18:30
  brain
• 18:30
  surgeon.
• 18:31
  So
• 18:32
  why
• 18:32
  don't
• 18:32
  we
• 18:33
  put
• 18:33
  that
• 18:33
  effort
• 18:34
  into
• 18:34
  you
• 18:34
  being
• 18:34
  just
• 18:35
  an
• 18:35
  amazing
• 18:35
  tradesperson
• 18:36
  and
• 18:36
  make
• 18:36
  as
• 18:37
  much
• 18:37
  as
• 18:37
  they
• 18:37
  do.
• 18:38
  How
• 18:38
  do
• 18:38
  you
• 18:38
  feel
• 18:38
  about
• 18:39
  welding,
• 18:39
  son?
• 18:40
  How
• 18:40
  do
• 18:40
  you
• 18:40
  feel
• 18:40
  about
• 18:41
  welding?
• 18:41
  Yeah.
• 18:42
  And
• 18:43
  nothing
• 18:43
  wrong
• 18:43
  with
• 18:43
  that,
• 18:44
  but
• 18:44
  I
• 18:44
  think
• 18:44
  that
• 18:45
  they're
• 18:46
  actually
• 18:46
  way
• 18:46
  ahead
• 18:47
  of
• 18:47
  where
• 18:48
  we
• 18:48
  are.
• 18:48
  Because
• 18:49
  in
• 18:49
  today's
• 18:50
  age,
• 18:50
  and
• 18:50
  I'm
• 18:50
  hopeful
• 18:51
  with
• 18:51
  our
• 18:51
  Gen
• 18:52
  Z
• 18:52
  kids
• 18:53
  out
• 18:53
  there,
• 18:54
  you
• 18:54
  younger
• 18:54
  guys
• 18:55
  out
• 18:55
  there
• 18:55
  that
• 18:55
  are
• 18:55
  listening
• 18:56
  to
• 18:56
  the
• 18:56
  show
• 18:56
  right
• 18:56
  now.
• 18:57
  I
• 18:57
  tell
• 18:57
  you
• 18:57
  what,
• 18:57
  you
• 18:57
  got
• 18:58
  something
• 18:58
  going
• 18:58
  good
• 18:58
  here.
• 18:59
  But
• 19:00
  you
• 19:00
  see
• 19:00
  it,
• 19:01
  these
• 19:01
  kids
• 19:01
  are
• 19:01
  now
• 19:01
  listening
• 19:02
  to
• 19:02
  vinyl
• 19:02
  records
• 19:03
  or
• 19:03
  listening
• 19:03
  to
• 19:03
  the
• 19:04
  radio
• 19:04
  again
• 19:05
  and
• 19:06
  they're
• 19:06
  really
• 19:07
  staying
• 19:07
  focused.
• 19:07
  They're
• 19:08
  not
• 19:08
  getting
• 19:08
  into.
• 19:09
  Some
• 19:09
  of
• 19:09
  them
• 19:09
  are
• 19:10
  having
• 19:10
  landline
• 19:11
  phones
• 19:11
  and
• 19:12
  not
• 19:12
  using
• 19:12
  their
• 19:12
  cell
• 19:12
  phone
• 19:13
  as
• 19:13
  much.
• 19:13
  And
• 19:13
  I'm
• 19:13
  like,
• 19:14
  wow,
• 19:14
  we're
• 19:14
  going
• 19:14
  back
• 19:14
  to
• 19:14
  the
• 19:15
  80s
• 19:15
  and
• 19:15
  the
• 19:15
  early
• 19:15
  90s.
• 19:16
  Kind
• 19:17
  of
• 19:17
  cool
• 19:17
  to
• 19:17
  see
• 19:17
  that
• 19:17
  happening.
• 19:18
  Which
• 19:18
  means
• 19:19
  these
• 19:20
  are
• 19:20
  also
• 19:20
  the
• 19:20
  kids
• 19:20
  that
• 19:20
  are
• 19:21
  probably
• 19:21
  going
• 19:21
  to
• 19:21
  learn
• 19:21
  how
• 19:21
  to
• 19:22
  use
• 19:22
  their
• 19:22
  hands.
• 19:23
  And
• 19:23
  that's.
• 19:23
  I
• 19:23
  think
• 19:24
  part
• 19:24
  of
• 19:24
  the
• 19:24
  issue
• 19:24
  is
• 19:24
  part
• 19:25
  of
• 19:25
  it's
• 19:25
  geographical.
• 19:26
  Let's
• 19:26
  get
• 19:27
  down
• 19:27
  to
• 19:27
  that
• 19:27
  for
• 19:27
  a
• 19:27
  second,
• 19:28
  right?
• 19:28
  You
• 19:28
  grew
• 19:28
  up
• 19:29
  in
• 19:29
  Issaquah
• 19:30
  and
• 19:30
  you
• 19:31
  tell
• 19:31
  your
• 19:31
  classmates
• 19:31
  you
• 19:32
  want
• 19:32
  to
• 19:32
  be
• 19:32
  a
• 19:32
  hot
• 19:32
  roofer.
• 19:33
  Yeah.
• 19:33
  They're
• 19:34
  like,
• 19:34
  oh,
• 19:34
  I'm
• 19:35
  going
• 19:35
  to
• 19:35
  be
• 19:35
  a
• 19:35
  Boeing
• 19:36
  exec
• 19:36
  or
• 19:36
  I'm
• 19:36
  going
• 19:37
  to
• 19:37
  be
• 19:37
  an
• 19:37
  engineer
• 19:38
  or
• 19:38
  an
• 19:38
  architect.
• 19:40
  And
• 19:40
  there's
• 19:40
  always
• 19:40
  been
• 19:40
  a
• 19:41
  bit
• 19:41
  of
• 19:41
  that
• 19:41
  stigma.
• 19:41
  I'll
• 19:42
  never
• 19:42
  forget
• 19:42
  one
• 19:42
  of
• 19:42
  my
• 19:42
  good
• 19:43
  friends,
• 19:43
  Carrie
• 19:43
  was.
• 19:44
  We
• 19:45
  went
• 19:45
  to
• 19:45
  junior
• 19:45
  high
• 19:46
  school
• 19:46
  together.
• 19:46
  He
• 19:46
  became
• 19:47
  a
• 19:47
  hedge
• 19:47
  fund
• 19:47
  guy
• 19:48
  and
• 19:48
  capital
• 19:49
  management
• 19:50
  and
• 19:51
  we
• 19:51
  bought
• 19:51
  some
• 19:51
  rentals
• 19:52
  together
• 19:52
  and
• 19:52
  worked
• 19:53
  on
• 19:53
  these
• 19:53
  rentals
• 19:53
  together.
• 19:53
  He
• 19:54
  was
• 19:54
  one
• 19:54
  of
• 19:54
  the
• 19:54
  hard
• 19:54
  workingest
• 19:55
  son
• 19:55
  of
• 19:55
  a
• 19:56
  ever
• 19:56
  met
• 19:56
  because
• 19:56
  he
• 19:56
  was
• 19:57
  raised
• 19:57
  that
• 19:57
  way
• 19:57
  in
• 19:57
  Louisiana.
• 19:59
  But
• 19:59
  I
• 19:59
  never
• 20:00
  forget,
• 20:00
  man,
• 20:01
  one
• 20:01
  day
• 20:01
  his
• 20:01
  wife
• 20:01
  said
• 20:02
  to
• 20:02
  me,
• 20:02
  I
• 20:02
  can't
• 20:02
  believe
• 20:03
  he's
• 20:03
  out
• 20:03
  there
• 20:03
  doing
• 20:03
  that
• 20:04
  stuff
• 20:04
  with
• 20:04
  you.
• 20:04
  It's
• 20:04
  just,
• 20:05
  it's
• 20:05
  so
• 20:05
  blue
• 20:06
  collar.
• 20:08
  What
• 20:08
  does
• 20:08
  that
• 20:08
  make
• 20:09
  me?
• 20:09
  Woman?
• 20:09
  What
• 20:10
  a
• 20:10
  up
• 20:10
  there
• 20:11
  blondie.
• 20:11
  But
• 20:12
  that's
• 20:12
  the
• 20:12
  stigma,
• 20:13
  right?
• 20:13
  This
• 20:13
  whole
• 20:14
  like.
• 20:14
  And
• 20:14
  he
• 20:14
  went
• 20:15
  to
• 20:15
  Notre
• 20:15
  Dame
• 20:15
  and.
• 20:16
  But
• 20:16
  he
• 20:16
  came
• 20:17
  from
• 20:17
  a
• 20:17
  working
• 20:17
  class
• 20:18
  family.
• 20:18
  He
• 20:18
  had
• 20:18
  a
• 20:18
  benefactor
• 20:19
  that
• 20:19
  helped
• 20:19
  him
• 20:20
  get
• 20:20
  through
• 20:20
  Notre
• 20:20
  Dame.
• 20:21
  Kid
• 20:21
  was
• 20:22
  sharp
• 20:22
  as
• 20:22
  attack
• 20:23
  and
• 20:24
  was
• 20:24
  meant
• 20:24
  for
• 20:25
  that
• 20:25
  kind
• 20:26
  of
• 20:26
  business.
• 20:26
  He
• 20:27
  would
• 20:27
  have
• 20:27
  shorted
• 20:27
  himself
• 20:28
  being
• 20:28
  a
• 20:28
  carpenter.
• 20:29
  Yeah,
• 20:30
  but
• 20:30
  like
• 20:30
  you
• 20:30
  say,
• 20:30
  there's
• 20:31
  those
• 20:31
  kids,
• 20:31
  man.
• 20:32
  Some
• 20:32
  of
• 20:32
  us
• 20:32
  are
• 20:32
  just
• 20:33
  made
• 20:33
  to
• 20:33
  go
• 20:33
  paint
• 20:34
  a
• 20:34
  house.
• 20:34
  And
• 20:35
  when
• 20:35
  we
• 20:35
  come
• 20:35
  back,
• 20:35
  we'll
• 20:36
  be
• 20:36
  talking
• 20:36
  more
• 20:36
  about
• 20:37
  the
• 20:37
  trades
• 20:38
  and
• 20:38
  really
• 20:39
  just
• 20:39
  dive
• 20:39
  into
• 20:39
  how
• 20:40
  to
• 20:40
  get
• 20:40
  your
• 20:40
  kids
• 20:40
  in
• 20:41
  there
• 20:41
  or
• 20:42
  how
• 20:42
  to
• 20:42
  get
• 20:42
  you
• 20:42
  started.
• 20:42
  We'll
• 20:43
  do
• 20:43
  that
• 20:43
  just
• 20:43
  as
• 20:43
  soon
• 20:44
  as
• 20:44
  a
• 20:44
  round
• 20:44
  dash
• 20:45
  returns.
• 22:52
  Welcome
• 22:53

  can

  see
• 23:08
  what
• 23:08
  Johnny
• 23:08
  Dudley
• 23:08
  here
• 23:09
  did
• 23:09
  to
• 23:10
  our
• 23:10

• 23:11
  Johnny's
• 23:12

• 23:13
  a
• 23:13
  Look
• 23:13
  at
• 23:14
  what
• 23:14
  he
• 23:14
  does.
• 23:14
  He's
• 23:14
  a
• 23:15
  great
• 23:15
  web
• 23:15
  designer.
• 23:16
  Works

  with
• 23:16
  contractors,
• 23:17
  with
• 23:17
  the

• 23:18
  with
• 23:18
  the
• 23:18

• 23:19
  he
• 23:19
  has.
• 23:20
  Well,
• 23:20
  I've
• 23:20
  swung
• 23:20
  a
• 23:20
  hammer
• 23:21
  with
• 23:21
  him
• 23:21
  a
• 23:21
  few
• 23:21
  times
• 23:22
  as
• 23:22
  well,
• 23:22
  jamming
• 23:22
  on
• 23:23
  projects.
• 23:23
  Nice
• 23:23

• 23:24
  have
• 23:24
  him
• 23:24
  here
• 23:24

  So
• 23:35
  you
• 23:35
  can
• 23:35

• 23:36
  that
• 23:36

  there.
• 23:37
  One
• 23:38
  thing
• 23:38

  go
• 24:15

• 24:16
  for
• 24:16
  dog
• 24:16

• 24:17

• 24:17
  Now
• 24:18
  here's
• 24:18
  your
• 24:18
  quick
• 24:18
  tip.
• 24:20
  You
• 24:21
  have
• 24:21
  probably
• 24:21
  seen
• 24:22
  people
• 24:22
  online
• 24:22
  using
• 24:23
  those
• 24:23
  magic
• 24:24
  erasers
• 24:24
  to
• 24:24
  clean,
• 24:25
  clean
• 24:25
  just
• 24:25
  about
• 24:25
  anything.
• 24:26
  But
• 24:26
  don't
• 24:27
  use
• 24:27
  them
• 24:27
  on
• 24:27
  your
• 24:27
  cabinetry,
• 24:28
  furniture,
• 24:29
  or
• 24:29
  any
• 24:29
  other
• 24:30
  delicate
• 24:30
  finished
• 24:31
  surface.
• 24:31
  Why?
• 24:32
  Because
• 24:33
  a
• 24:33
  magic
• 24:33
  eraser
• 24:34
  is
• 24:34
  basically
• 24:34
  the
• 24:34
  same
• 24:35
  as
• 24:35
  using
• 24:35
  1600
• 24:36
  grit
• 24:36
  sandpaper.
• 24:37
  Sure,
• 24:38
  it'll
• 24:38
  take
• 24:38
  off
• 24:39
  the
• 24:39
  dirt,
• 24:39
  but
• 24:39
  it'll
• 24:40
  also
• 24:40
  take
• 24:40
  off
• 24:40
  the
• 24:41
  finish,
• 24:41
  leaving
• 24:42
  you
• 24:42
  with
• 24:42
  dull
• 24:42
  spots
• 24:43
  that
• 24:43
  are
• 24:43
  tough
• 24:44
  and
• 24:44
  expensive
• 24:44
  to
• 24:45
  fix.
• 24:45
  Save
• 24:46
  that
• 24:46
  magic
• 24:46
  eraser
• 24:47
  for
• 24:47
  old
• 24:48
  tubs,
• 24:48
  sinks
• 24:48
  and
• 24:49
  walls,
• 24:49
  but
• 24:50
  keep
• 24:50
  it
• 24:50
  away
• 24:50
  from
• 24:51
  wood
• 24:51
  finishes
• 24:51
  or
• 24:52
  anything
• 24:52
  else
• 24:52
  you
• 24:53
  don't
• 24:53
  want
• 24:53
  to
• 24:53
  scratch.
• 24:54
  That's
• 24:54
  today's
• 24:55
  around
• 24:55
  the
• 24:55
  house
• 24:56
  nugget.
• 24:57
  All
• 24:57
  right,
• 24:57
  guys.
• 24:58
  That's
• 24:58
  how
• 24:58
  you
• 24:59
  clean
• 24:59
  things
• 25:00
  without
• 25:00
  ruining
• 25:01
  them.
• 25:02
  And
• 25:02
  that's
• 25:02
  a
• 25:02
  key
• 25:02
  right
• 25:03
  there.
• 25:03
  Because
• 25:03
  I
• 25:03
  tell
• 25:03
  you
• 25:03
  what,
• 25:03
  I
• 25:04
  had
• 25:04
  a
• 25:04
  lady
• 25:05
  that
• 25:05
  had
• 25:06
  her.
• 25:07
  This
• 25:07
  was
• 25:07
  crazy,
• 25:07
  Johnny.
• 25:08
  She
• 25:09
  put
• 25:09
  in
• 25:09
  a
• 25:09
  brand
• 25:09
  new
• 25:09
  kitchen.
• 25:10
  Like
• 25:10
  nine
• 25:11
  months
• 25:11
  later,
• 25:12
  I
• 25:12
  get
• 25:13
  this
• 25:13
  call.
• 25:13
  My
• 25:13
  cabinet
• 25:14
  finishes
• 25:15
  failing.
• 25:15
  What's
• 25:15
  going
• 25:15
  on?
• 25:16
  And
• 25:16
  I
• 25:16
  walk
• 25:16
  in
• 25:16
  there
• 25:17
  and
• 25:17
  her
• 25:17
  white
• 25:17
  beautiful
• 25:18
  painted
• 25:18
  kitchen.
• 25:19
  You
• 25:19
  could
• 25:20
  see
• 25:20
  it
• 25:20
  was
• 25:20
  through
• 25:20
  the
• 25:21
  primer
• 25:21
  into
• 25:21
  the
• 25:22
  wood.
• 25:22
  And
• 25:22
  I'm
• 25:22
  like,
• 25:23
  what
• 25:23
  are
• 25:23
  you
• 25:23
  doing?
• 25:24
  Don't
• 25:25
  clean
• 25:25
  with
• 25:25
  gas.
• 25:26
  Yeah,
• 25:27
  what
• 25:27
  are
• 25:27
  you
• 25:27
  doing?
• 25:28
  I
• 25:28
  get
• 25:29
  underneath
• 25:29
  there.
• 25:29
  I
• 25:30
  well,
• 25:30
  I
• 25:30
  said,
• 25:30
  can
• 25:30
  we
• 25:30
  look
• 25:31
  at
• 25:31
  your
• 25:31
  cleaning
• 25:31
  stuff?
• 25:31
  I
• 25:32
  go,
• 25:32
  do
• 25:32
  you
• 25:32
  clean
• 25:32
  this?
• 25:33
  She
• 25:33
  goes,
• 25:33
  no,
• 25:33
  my
• 25:33
  cleaning
• 25:33
  lady.
• 25:34
  I
• 25:34
  said,
• 25:34
  where's
• 25:35
  her
• 25:35
  stuff?
• 25:36
  Oh,
• 25:36
  I
• 25:36
  bought
• 25:37
  her
• 25:37
  stuff
• 25:37
  over
• 25:37
  here.
• 25:38
  They
• 25:38
  were
• 25:39
  using
• 25:39
  the
• 25:39
  magic
• 25:40
  eraser,
• 25:41
  a
• 25:42
  little
• 25:43
  foam,
• 25:43
  Mr.
• 25:44
  Clean
• 25:44
  kind
• 25:44
  of
• 25:44
  thing.
• 25:45
  Fantastic.
• 25:46
  Awesome.
• 25:46
  But
• 25:46
  that's
• 25:47
  1600
• 25:48
  grit
• 25:48
  sandpaper
• 25:49
  technically.
• 25:50
  So
• 25:51
  you're
• 25:51
  cutting
• 25:52
  and
• 25:52
  buffing
• 25:52
  that
• 25:52
  kitchen
• 25:53
  so
• 25:53
  many
• 25:53
  times,
• 25:54
  you're
• 25:54
  going
• 25:54
  to
• 25:54
  go
• 25:54
  through
• 25:54
  the
• 25:55
  edges
• 25:55
  pretty
• 25:55
  quick.
• 25:56
  There's
• 25:56
  not
• 25:56
  that
• 25:56
  much
• 25:56
  paint
• 25:57
  on
• 25:57
  there.
• 25:57
  This
• 25:57
  isn't
• 25:57
  a
• 25:58
  57
• 25:58
  Chevy.
• 25:59
  You
• 25:59
  should
• 25:59
  be
• 25:59
  puffing
• 26:00
  out
• 26:00
  every
• 26:00
  year.
• 26:01
  So.
• 26:01
  Yeah,
• 26:02
  be
• 26:02
  careful
• 26:02
  those
• 26:03
  things.
• 26:03
  Be
• 26:03
  careful
• 26:03
  those
• 26:04
  things,
• 26:05
  man.
• 26:05
  I
• 26:05
  tell
• 26:06
  you
• 26:06
  what,
• 26:06
  you
• 26:06
  know,
• 26:07
  I
• 26:07
  want
• 26:07
  to
• 26:07
  ask
• 26:07
  you,
• 26:07
  how
• 26:07
  did
• 26:08
  you
• 26:08
  get
• 26:08
  into.
• 26:09
  When
• 26:09
  I
• 26:09
  met
• 26:10
  you,
• 26:10
  you
• 26:10
  were
• 26:10
  ASM
• 26:11
  construction,
• 26:12
  which
• 26:12
  was
• 26:13
  another
• 26:13
  starving
• 26:14
  musician,
• 26:15
  which
• 26:15
  really
• 26:16
  led
• 26:16
  us
• 26:16
  down
• 26:16
  a
• 26:17
  road.
• 26:17
  But
• 26:17
  that
• 26:17
  was
• 26:17
  a
• 26:18
  whole
• 26:18
  other
• 26:18
  starving
• 26:18
  musician
• 26:19
  road.
• 26:19
  I'll
• 26:20
  tell
• 26:20
  you,
• 26:20
  man,
• 26:20
  I
• 26:20
  got
• 26:21
  into
• 26:22
  the
• 26:23
  roofers
• 26:23
  union
• 26:24
  at
• 26:24
  17,
• 26:25
  18
• 26:26
  because
• 26:27
  of
• 26:27
  my
• 26:27
  stepdad,
• 26:27
  partly
• 26:28
  out
• 26:28
  of
• 26:28
  spite
• 26:28
  and
• 26:29
  then
• 26:29
  obviously
• 26:30
  because
• 26:30
  the
• 26:30
  money
• 26:30
  was
• 26:30
  good
• 26:31
  and
• 26:31
  I
• 26:31
  wanted
• 26:31
  to
• 26:31
  buy
• 26:31
  a
• 26:32
  house
• 26:32
  and
• 26:32
  I
• 26:32
  wanted
• 26:33
  to
• 26:33
  work
• 26:33
  hard,
• 26:33
  make
• 26:33
  a
• 26:34
  bunch
• 26:34
  of
• 26:34
  money
• 26:34
  so
• 26:34
  that
• 26:34
  I
• 26:34
  could
• 26:35
  just
• 26:35
  sit
• 26:35
  around
• 26:35
  and
• 26:35
  play
• 26:35
  music
• 26:36
  all
• 26:36
  the
• 26:36
  time.
• 26:37
  Let's
• 26:37
  be
• 26:37
  honest.
• 26:39
  So
• 26:39
  by
• 26:39
  the
• 26:39
  time
• 26:39
  I
• 26:40
  was
• 26:40
  20,
• 26:42
  maybe
• 26:42
  21,
• 26:43
  I
• 26:43
  woke
• 26:43
  up
• 26:44
  one
• 26:44
  morning
• 26:44
  at
• 26:44
  4:30am
• 26:45
  to
• 26:46
  face
• 26:46
  my
• 26:47
  hour
• 26:47
  and
• 26:47
  a
• 26:47
  half
• 26:47
  to
• 26:48
  two
• 26:48
  hour
• 26:48
  drive
• 26:48
  from
• 26:49
  Tacoma
• 26:49
  to
• 26:50
  Ballard.
• 26:51
  And
• 26:51
  I
• 26:51
  watched
• 26:52
  the
• 26:52
  sunrise
• 26:53
  and
• 26:53
  I
• 26:53
  said,
• 26:53
  nope,
• 26:54
  I
• 26:54
  can't
• 26:54
  do
• 26:55
  this
• 26:55
  anymore.
• 26:55
  Yeah.
• 26:56
  Couldn't
• 26:56
  get
• 26:56
  off
• 26:56
  the
• 26:57
  floor
• 26:57
  in
• 26:57
  the
• 26:57
  morning.
• 26:58
  So
• 26:58
  I
• 26:58
  drove
• 26:58
  in,
• 26:59
  gave
• 26:59
  him
• 26:59
  a
• 26:59
  notice
• 27:00
  and
• 27:01
  was
• 27:01
  going
• 27:01
  to
• 27:01
  become
• 27:02
  a
• 27:02
  big
• 27:02
  real
• 27:02
  estate
• 27:03
  investor.
• 27:04
  Yeah.
• 27:05
  Had
• 27:05
  to
• 27:05
  have
• 27:05
  money
• 27:05
  for
• 27:05
  that,
• 27:06
  brother.
• 27:06
  Yeah.
• 27:07
  And
• 27:07
  I
• 27:07
  had
• 27:07
  a
• 27:08
  partner
• 27:08
  that
• 27:08
  was
• 27:09
  a
• 27:09
  realtor
• 27:09
  and
• 27:09
  he's,
• 27:10
  yeah,
• 27:10
  we
• 27:10
  can
• 27:10
  do
• 27:10
  this.
• 27:10
  You
• 27:11
  can
• 27:11
  remodel
• 27:11
  and
• 27:11
  I'll
• 27:12
  sit
• 27:12
  on
• 27:12
  my
• 27:12
  ass
• 27:12
  and
• 27:13
  be
• 27:13
  the
• 27:13
  realtor
• 27:13
  guy.
• 27:13
  Which
• 27:14
  we
• 27:14
  did.
• 27:14
  We
• 27:14
  bought
• 27:15
  a
• 27:15
  laundromat
• 27:15
  at
• 27:15
  21
• 27:16
  years
• 27:16
  old
• 27:16
  and
• 27:16
  we
• 27:17
  remodeled
• 27:17
  that
• 27:17
  and
• 27:18
  sold
• 27:18
  it
• 27:18
  and
• 27:18
  I
• 27:18
  made
• 27:18
  20
• 27:19
  grand
• 27:19
  or
• 27:19
  something.
• 27:19
  I
• 27:20
  thought
• 27:20
  I
• 27:20
  was
• 27:20
  a
• 27:20
  hot
• 27:20
  shot.
• 27:21
  But
• 27:22
  in
• 27:22
  the
• 27:22
  meantime,
• 27:22
  yes,
• 27:23
  you're
• 27:23
  right.
• 27:23
  I
• 27:23
  had
• 27:24
  to
• 27:24
  go,
• 27:25
  hey,
• 27:25
  friend
• 27:25
  of
• 27:26
  my
• 27:26
  parents,
• 27:26
  need
• 27:27
  a
• 27:27
  fence
• 27:27
  built.
• 27:28
  Hey,
• 27:29
  friend
• 27:29
  of
• 27:29
  another
• 27:29
  friend
• 27:30
  need
• 27:30
  your
• 27:30
  house
• 27:31
  painted
• 27:32
  and
• 27:32
  legit.
• 27:33
  I
• 27:33
  think
• 27:33
  I
• 27:33
  told
• 27:33
  you
• 27:33
  the
• 27:34
  other
• 27:34
  day,
• 27:34
  like,
• 27:34
  I
• 27:34
  used
• 27:35
  to
• 27:35
  have
• 27:35
  to
• 27:35
  go
• 27:35
  to
• 27:35
  Home
• 27:35
  Depot
• 27:36
  and
• 27:36
  sit
• 27:36
  on
• 27:36
  the
• 27:36
  floor
• 27:37
  and
• 27:37
  read
• 27:37
  books
• 27:37
  about
• 27:37
  how
• 27:38
  to
• 27:38
  do
• 27:38
  some
• 27:38
  of
• 27:38
  this
• 27:38
  crap.
• 27:39
  It's
• 27:39
  when
• 27:39
  they
• 27:39
  sold
• 27:40
  books
• 27:40
  at
• 27:40
  Home
• 27:40
  Depot.
• 27:41
  Exactly.
• 27:41
  But
• 27:41
  I
• 27:41
  never
• 27:41
  said
• 27:42
  no.
• 27:43
  You
• 27:43
  know
• 27:43
  how
• 27:43
  to
• 27:43
  tuck
• 27:44
  point
• 27:44
  a
• 27:44
  chimney?
• 27:44
  Oh,
• 27:45
  yeah,
• 27:45
  of
• 27:45
  course
• 27:45
  I
• 27:45
  do.
• 27:46
  Oh,
• 27:46
  you
• 27:46
  know
• 27:46
  how
• 27:46
  to.
• 27:46
  You
• 27:47
  know
• 27:47
  what?
• 27:47
  Whatever.
• 27:48
  I
• 27:49
  just
• 27:49
  said
• 27:49
  yes.
• 27:50
  And
• 27:50
  it
• 27:50
  just
• 27:50
  kept
• 27:51
  getting
• 27:51
  work.
• 27:52
  And
• 27:52
  I'm
• 27:52
  a
• 27:52
  bit
• 27:52
  of
• 27:52
  a
• 27:53
  perfectionist
• 27:54
  and
• 27:54
  I
• 27:54
  never.
• 27:55
  I
• 27:56
  fight
• 27:56
  till
• 27:56
  I'm
• 27:56
  dead.
• 27:57
  So
• 27:58
  if
• 27:58
  I
• 27:58
  can't
• 27:58
  get
• 27:59
  it
• 27:59
  done
• 27:59
  right
• 27:59
  or
• 28:00
  figure
• 28:00
  it
• 28:01
  out.
• 28:01
  I
• 28:01
  will
• 28:01
  just
• 28:02
  keep
• 28:02
  going
• 28:02
  until
• 28:02
  I
• 28:02
  do.
• 28:03
  And
• 28:03
  little
• 28:04
  by
• 28:04
  little,
• 28:04
  those
• 28:04
  little
• 28:05
  odd
• 28:05
  jobs
• 28:05
  turned
• 28:06
  into
• 28:07
  advertising,
• 28:08
  turned
• 28:08
  into
• 28:08
  hiring
• 28:09
  people,
• 28:09
  turned
• 28:10
  into
• 28:10
  bigger
• 28:10
  jobs.
• 28:12
  And
• 28:12
  then
• 28:12
  it
• 28:13
  fell
• 28:13
  out
• 28:13
  because
• 28:13
  I
• 28:13
  went
• 28:14
  on
• 28:14
  Tour
• 28:14
  for
• 28:14
  about
• 28:14
  six
• 28:15
  years
• 28:15
  with
• 28:15
  50
• 28:15
  paces.
• 28:16
  Yeah.
• 28:17
  But
• 28:17
  I
• 28:18
  was
• 28:18
  still,
• 28:18
  like,
• 28:19
  painting
• 28:19
  the
• 28:19
  neighbor's
• 28:20
  house
• 28:20
  and
• 28:21
  scrapping
• 28:21
  together
• 28:22
  some
• 28:22
  work.
• 28:23
  But
• 28:23
  it
• 28:23
  got
• 28:23
  real
• 28:23
  serious
• 28:24
  at
• 28:24
  27,
• 28:25
  28.
• 28:26
  And
• 28:26
  got
• 28:27
  married.
• 28:27
  So
• 28:28
  that
• 28:28
  was
• 28:28
  some
• 28:28
  impetus
• 28:29
  to
• 28:29
  keep
• 28:29
  my
• 28:29
  act
• 28:29
  together.
• 28:30
  And.
• 28:30
  And,
• 28:31
  yeah,
• 28:31
  man,
• 28:31
  just
• 28:31
  slowly
• 28:32
  but
• 28:32
  surely
• 28:32
  started
• 28:32
  in
• 28:33
  an
• 28:33
  85
• 28:33
  Chevy
• 28:34
  Suburban
• 28:35
  that
• 28:35
  was
• 28:35
  red
• 28:36
  and
• 28:36
  beige
• 28:37
  and
• 28:37
  horrible.
• 28:39
  And
• 28:39
  my
• 28:39
  buddy
• 28:40
  Carrie
• 28:40
  that
• 28:40
  I
• 28:40
  mentioned,
• 28:41
  we.
• 28:41
  We
• 28:41
  bought
• 28:41
  a
• 28:42
  house
• 28:42
  out
• 28:42
  in
• 28:42
  Bremerton,
• 28:43
  and
• 28:43
  I
• 28:43
  gutted
• 28:44
  that
• 28:44
  whole
• 28:44
  thing
• 28:44
  down
• 28:44
  to
• 28:45
  two
• 28:45
  walls
• 28:45
  and
• 28:45
  rebuilt
• 28:46
  that
• 28:46
  whole
• 28:46
  place.
• 28:47
  And
• 28:48
  so
• 28:48
  that
• 28:48
  put
• 28:48
  some
• 28:48
  capital
• 28:49
  in
• 28:49
  my
• 28:49
  pocket
• 28:49
  to
• 28:50
  start
• 28:50
  growing
• 28:50
  my
• 28:50
  bizarre.
• 28:52
  And,
• 28:52
  yeah,
• 28:52
  next
• 28:52
  thing,
• 28:53
  we're
• 28:53
  on
• 28:53
  HGTV
• 28:54
  with
• 28:54
  you
• 28:54
  and
• 28:54
  Kevin
• 28:55
  Cook.
• 28:55
  And,
• 28:56
  yeah,
• 28:56
  we
• 28:56
  were
• 28:56
  doing
• 28:56
  a
• 28:57
  million
• 28:57
  bucks
• 28:57
  a
• 28:57
  year
• 28:57
  by
• 28:58
  the
• 28:58
  end
• 28:58
  of
• 28:58
  the
• 28:58
  deal.
• 28:58
  And,
• 28:59
  yeah.
• 29:00
  And
• 29:00
  then
• 29:00
  I
• 29:00
  got
• 29:01
  sick
• 29:01
  of
• 29:01
  Seattle
• 29:02
  and
• 29:02
  wanted
• 29:02
  to
• 29:03
  move
• 29:03
  to
• 29:03
  the
• 29:03
  sun,
• 29:03
  so
• 29:03
  I
• 29:03
  moved
• 29:04
  to
• 29:04
  Arizona.
• 29:05
  Exactly.
• 29:06
  And
• 29:06
  I
• 29:06
  was
• 29:06
  helping
• 29:07
  you
• 29:07
  promote
• 29:07
  your
• 29:08
  band.
• 29:08
  And
• 29:08
  I'll
• 29:08
  never
• 29:09
  forget,
• 29:10
  I
• 29:10
  was
• 29:10
  helping
• 29:10
  you
• 29:11
  with
• 29:11
  Dudley
• 29:11
  with
• 29:11
  your
• 29:12
  last
• 29:12
  band
• 29:12
  there
• 29:12
  in
• 29:13
  Tacoma.
• 29:13
  And
• 29:14
  you're
• 29:15
  like,
• 29:15
  hey,
• 29:15
  man,
• 29:15
  you
• 29:15
  play
• 29:16
  bass,
• 29:16
  right?
• 29:16
  I'm
• 29:16
  like,
• 29:17
  it's
• 29:17
  been
• 29:17
  15
• 29:18
  years.
• 29:18
  You're
• 29:18
  like,
• 29:18
  cool.
• 29:18
  You're
• 29:19
  playing
• 29:19
  on
• 29:19
  a
• 29:19
  show
• 29:19
  in
• 29:19
  two
• 29:20
  weeks.
• 29:20
  And
• 29:20
  I'm
• 29:20
  like,
• 29:20
  dude,
• 29:20
  I'm
• 29:21
  going
• 29:21
  to.
• 29:22
  I
• 29:22
  have
• 29:22
  a
• 29:22
  work
• 29:22
  trip.
• 29:23
  I'm
• 29:23
  going
• 29:23
  to
• 29:23
  Alabama
• 29:24
  to
• 29:24
  Wellborn
• 29:25
  Cabins
• 29:25
  for
• 29:26
  the
• 29:26
  week.
• 29:26
  And
• 29:27
  you're
• 29:27
  like,
• 29:27
  you
• 29:27
  know
• 29:27
  the
• 29:28
  songs.
• 29:28
  Go
• 29:28
  learn
• 29:29
  them.
• 29:29
  Yep.
• 29:30
  That's
• 29:30
  how
• 29:30
  we
• 29:30
  do.
• 29:31
  That's
• 29:31
  how
• 29:31
  we
• 29:31
  do
• 29:31
  it.
• 29:32
  So
• 29:32
  I
• 29:32
  literally
• 29:33
  took
• 29:33
  my
• 29:33
  base
• 29:33
  with
• 29:34
  me
• 29:34
  to
• 29:34
  the
• 29:35
  hotel
• 29:35
  room
• 29:35
  in
• 29:36
  Alabama
• 29:36
  so
• 29:36
  I
• 29:36
  could
• 29:36
  practice
• 29:37
  all
• 29:37
  week.
• 29:37
  God
• 29:38
  bless
• 29:38
  you
• 29:38
  for
• 29:38
  it,
• 29:39
  man.
• 29:39
  So
• 29:39
  many
• 29:39
  kids
• 29:40
  won't
• 29:40
  do
• 29:40
  that
• 29:40
  today.
• 29:41
  It's
• 29:41
  incredible.
• 29:42
  I
• 29:42
  showed
• 29:43
  up
• 29:43
  and
• 29:43
  I
• 29:43
  had
• 29:43
  people
• 29:43
  picking
• 29:44
  up,
• 29:44
  like,
• 29:45
  why
• 29:45
  are
• 29:45
  you
• 29:45
  bringing
• 29:45
  a
• 29:46
  base
• 29:46
  for?
• 29:46
  I'm
• 29:46
  like,
• 29:46
  I
• 29:46
  got
• 29:46
  a
• 29:47
  show
• 29:47
  in
• 29:47
  a
• 29:47
  week.
• 29:47
  I
• 29:47
  got
• 29:47
  to
• 29:48
  figure
• 29:48
  this
• 29:48
  out.
• 29:49
  So
• 29:50
  everybody's
• 29:50
  out
• 29:51
  partying,
• 29:51
  and
• 29:51
  I
• 29:51
  was
• 29:51
  going
• 29:51
  back
• 29:52
  to
• 29:52
  the
• 29:52
  room
• 29:52
  to
• 29:52
  make
• 29:52
  sure
• 29:52
  that
• 29:53
  I
• 29:53
  go
• 29:53
  through
• 29:53
  and
• 29:54
  listen
• 29:54
  to
• 29:54
  the
• 29:54
  set
• 29:54
  list
• 29:55
  again
• 29:55
  and
• 29:55
  make
• 29:55
  sure
• 29:55
  I
• 29:55
  had
• 29:55
  it.
• 29:56
  And
• 29:56
  I
• 29:56
  learned
• 29:56
  that
• 29:57
  the
• 29:57
  hard
• 29:57
  way
• 29:57
  as
• 29:57
  well.
• 29:58
  Right.
• 29:58
  Like
• 29:59
  that
• 29:59
  you
• 30:00
  just
• 30:00
  get
• 30:00
  thrown
• 30:00
  in
• 30:01
  the
• 30:01
  fire,
• 30:01
  and
• 30:01
  you're
• 30:01
  like,
• 30:01
  I
• 30:02
  don't.
• 30:02
  I
• 30:02
  never.
• 30:03
  When
• 30:03
  I
• 30:03
  was
• 30:03
  20,
• 30:03
  playing
• 30:04
  a
• 30:04
  band
• 30:04
  of
• 30:04
  Scotty.
• 30:05
  And
• 30:05
  I
• 30:05
  was
• 30:05
  like,
• 30:05
  yeah,
• 30:06
  he's.
• 30:06
  Yeah,
• 30:07
  you
• 30:07
  can.
• 30:07
  There's
• 30:07
  a
• 30:07
  door.
• 30:08
  You
• 30:08
  just
• 30:08
  walk
• 30:08
  through
• 30:09
  it
• 30:09
  and
• 30:09
  decide
• 30:10
  you
• 30:10
  are.
• 30:10
  And
• 30:10
  I
• 30:11
  did.
• 30:11
  And
• 30:11
  I
• 30:11
  was
• 30:11
  like,
• 30:12
  wow.
• 30:12
  I
• 30:12
  Did
• 30:12
  it.
• 30:12
  Okay,
• 30:13
  cool.
• 30:14
  Same
• 30:14
  thing
• 30:14
  with
• 30:14
  construction,
• 30:15
  man.
• 30:16
  I
• 30:16
  don't
• 30:17
  know
• 30:17
  how.
• 30:17
  I
• 30:17
  don't
• 30:17
  know
• 30:18
  how
• 30:18
  I'm
• 30:18
  gonna
• 30:19
  point
• 30:19
  this
• 30:19
  chimney,
• 30:20
  but
• 30:20
  I'll
• 30:21
  be
• 30:21
  damned
• 30:21
  if
• 30:21
  I'm
• 30:21
  not.
• 30:22
  I'm
• 30:22
  gonna
• 30:23
  fail.
• 30:23
  Like,
• 30:23
  I'll
• 30:23
  get
• 30:24
  it.
• 30:24
  Exactly.
• 30:25
  That's
• 30:25
  the
• 30:25
  way
• 30:25
  I
• 30:25
  was
• 30:25
  playing
• 30:26
  bass.
• 30:26
  I
• 30:26
  was
• 30:26
  like,
• 30:27
  all
• 30:27
  right,
• 30:27
  I've
• 30:28
  got.
• 30:28
  We
• 30:28
  had
• 30:28
  Raphael
• 30:29
  there,
• 30:29
  who
• 30:29
  was
• 30:30
  just.
• 30:30
  He
• 30:30
  was
• 30:31
  just.
• 30:32
  It
• 30:32
  still
• 30:32
  is
• 30:33
  still
• 30:33
  killing
• 30:33
  it
• 30:34
  still
• 30:34
  love
• 30:34
  that
• 30:34
  man.
• 30:35
  He's.
• 30:35
  Every
• 30:35
  time
• 30:36
  he
• 30:36
  comes
• 30:36
  down
• 30:36
  here,
• 30:36
  he
• 30:36
  says
• 30:37
  hello,
• 30:37
  but
• 30:37
  it's
• 30:37
  one
• 30:37
  of
• 30:38
  those
• 30:38
  things
• 30:38
  that
• 30:38
  it's
• 30:38
  wow,
• 30:39
  okay?
• 30:40
  And
• 30:40
  I
• 30:41
  remember
• 30:41
  looking
• 30:41
  at
• 30:41
  him
• 30:41
  with
• 30:41
  my
• 30:42
  eyes
• 30:42
  wide
• 30:42
  going,
• 30:42
  all
• 30:43
  right,
• 30:43
  I
• 30:43
  haven't
• 30:43
  played
• 30:43
  bass
• 30:44
  in
• 30:44
  15
• 30:44
  years
• 30:45
  live.
• 30:45
  Let's
• 30:46
  do
• 30:46
  this
• 30:46
  and
• 30:47
  just
• 30:47
  get
• 30:47
  on
• 30:47
  the
• 30:47
  bike
• 30:48
  and
• 30:48
  get
• 30:48
  a
• 30:48
  couple
• 30:48
  skin
• 30:49
  knees.
• 30:49
  But
• 30:49
  you'll
• 30:49
  be
• 30:49
  okay.
• 30:50
  We
• 30:50
  got
• 30:50
  it.
• 30:51
  Fine.
• 30:52
  I'll
• 30:52
  tell
• 30:52
  you.
• 30:52
  It's
• 30:52
  that
• 30:53
  again.
• 30:53
  Back
• 30:53
  to
• 30:54
  the
• 30:54
  reward,
• 30:54
  man.
• 30:54
  I
• 30:55
  don't
• 30:55
  know
• 30:55
  how
• 30:55
  to
• 30:55
  tuck
• 30:55
  point
• 30:56
  a
• 30:56
  chimney,
• 30:56
  but
• 30:57
  I'm
• 30:57
  going
• 30:57
  to
• 30:57
  decide
• 30:58
  that.
• 30:58
  I'm
• 30:58
  going
• 30:58
  to
• 30:58
  figure
• 30:58
  it
• 30:59
  out.
• 30:59
  This
• 30:59
  is
• 30:59
  like
• 30:59
  working
• 31:00
  on
• 31:00
  a
• 31:00
  car,
• 31:00
  whatever.
• 31:01
  Rebuilding
• 31:01
  the
• 31:01
  carburetor.
• 31:02
  When
• 31:03
  you
• 31:03
  finish
• 31:03
  that,
• 31:04
  you
• 31:05
  grow
• 31:05
  as
• 31:05
  a
• 31:05
  person,
• 31:05
  as
• 31:06
  a
• 31:06
  human.
• 31:06
  You're
• 31:07
  like,
• 31:08
  it
• 31:08
  does
• 31:09
  so
• 31:09
  much
• 31:09
  for
• 31:09
  self
• 31:10
  esteem
• 31:10
  and
• 31:11
  self
• 31:11
  confidence
• 31:12
  and
• 31:12
  the
• 31:12
  awareness
• 31:13
  that
• 31:13
  you're
• 31:13
  capable
• 31:14
  and.
• 31:14
  Yeah,
• 31:15
  that
• 31:15
  just
• 31:15
  leads
• 31:15
  to
• 31:15
  bigger
• 31:16
  and
• 31:16
  better
• 31:16
  things
• 31:16
  versus
• 31:17
  sitting
• 31:17
  in
• 31:17
  an
• 31:17
  office
• 31:18
  where
• 31:18
  you're
• 31:18
  just
• 31:18
  pushing
• 31:18
  papers
• 31:19
  and
• 31:19
  taking
• 31:19
  orders.
• 31:19
  I'm
• 31:20
  so
• 31:20
  glad
• 31:20
  that
• 31:21
  I
• 31:21
  spent
• 31:21
  all
• 31:21
  those
• 31:22
  years
• 31:22
  building
• 31:22
  stuff
• 31:23
  with
• 31:23
  my
• 31:23
  own
• 31:24
  hands
• 31:24
  and
• 31:24
  figuring
• 31:25
  stuff,
• 31:25
  facing
• 31:25
  those
• 31:26
  challenges,
• 31:27
  facing
• 31:27
  those
• 31:27
  fears
• 31:28
  where,
• 31:28
  oh,
• 31:28
  man,
• 31:28
  we
• 31:29
  screw
• 31:29
  this
• 31:29
  up.
• 31:29
  That's
• 31:29
  a
• 31:30
  $2,700
• 31:31
  range
• 31:31
  hood.
• 31:31
  Yeah.
• 31:32
  Oh,
• 31:32
  yeah,
• 31:32
  totally.
• 31:33
  And
• 31:33
  you
• 31:33
  pull
• 31:33
  it
• 31:33
  off
• 31:33
  and
• 31:34
  you're
• 31:34
  like,
• 31:34
  I
• 31:34
  rule.
• 31:35
  Like,
• 31:35
  he
• 31:35
  totally
• 31:36
  Kevin
• 31:36
  spaces.
• 31:37
  Oh,
• 31:37
  man,
• 31:37
  totally.
• 31:38
  And
• 31:38
  we
• 31:39
  come
• 31:39
  back,
• 31:39
  guys,
• 31:39
  we're
• 31:39
  gonna
• 31:40
  give
• 31:40
  a
• 31:40
  couple
• 31:40
  other.
• 31:41
  Let's
• 31:41
  talk
• 31:41
  a
• 31:41
  couple
• 31:41
  horror
• 31:42
  stories.
• 31:42
  I've
• 31:42
  got
• 31:43
  a
• 31:43
  few
• 31:43
  on
• 31:43
  the
• 31:43
  kitchen
• 31:43
  side
• 31:44
  that
• 31:44
  you
• 31:44
  love
• 31:44
  it
• 31:44
  that
• 31:45
  I
• 31:45
  had
• 31:45
  to
• 31:45
  power
• 31:45
  through,
• 31:46
  and
• 31:46
  some
• 31:47
  funny
• 31:47
  follies
• 31:48
  and
• 31:48
  disasters.
• 31:49
  But

• 31:50

  I

  talking
• 34:35
  about
• 34:36
  some
• 34:36
  disasters
• 34:37
  that
• 34:37
  I
• 34:37
  had,
• 34:38
  and
• 34:38
  we've
• 34:39
  all
• 34:39
  had
• 34:39
  those
• 34:39
  disasters
• 34:40
  at

• 34:41
  But
• 34:41
  I
• 34:41
  tell
• 34:41
  you
• 34:41
  what,
• 34:42
  I've
• 34:42
  had
• 34:42
  them
• 34:42
  where
• 34:44
  the
• 34:44
  semi
• 34:44
  truck
• 34:45
  delivering
• 34:46

• 34:55
  and
• 34:55
  destroyed
• 34:56
  the
• 34:56
  cabinets.
• 34:57
  So
• 34:58
  I
• 34:58
  got
• 34:58
  that.
• 34:59
  That
• 34:59
  only
• 34:59
  sets
• 34:59
  you
• 34:59
  back
• 35:00
  six
• 35:00
  or
• 35:00
  eight
• 35:00
  weeks.
• 35:01
  And
• 35:02
  it
• 35:02
  was
• 35:02
  just
• 35:02
  like,
• 35:02
  oh.
• 35:03
  And
• 35:03
  then
• 35:03
  they
• 35:03
  wanted
• 35:03
  me
• 35:03
  to
• 35:03
  go
• 35:04
  through

• 35:05
  I'm

• 35:05
  nah,
• 35:05
  you
• 35:06
  guys
• 35:06
  got
• 35:06
  to

• 35:08
  I've
• 35:08
  had

  my
• 35:09
  favorite
• 35:10
  one,
• 35:10
  though
• 35:11
  my
• 35:11
  favorite
• 35:11
  one
• 35:12
  was
• 35:12
  actually
• 35:12
  not
• 35:13
  really
• 35:13
  my
• 35:14
  fault.
• 35:14
  It
• 35:14
  was
• 35:15
  the
• 35:15
  manufacturer.
• 35:16
  And
• 35:16
  I'm
• 35:17
  not
• 35:17
  going
• 35:17
  to
• 35:17
  sit
• 35:17
  here
• 35:17
  and
• 35:17
  hammer
• 35:18
  on
• 35:18
  a
• 35:18
  brand,
• 35:18
  because
• 35:19
  that's
• 35:19
  not
• 35:19
  what
• 35:19
  this
• 35:19
  is
• 35:20
  about.
• 35:20
  But
• 35:21
  cabinet
• 35:21
  companies,
• 35:22
  at
• 35:22
  times
• 35:22
  when
• 35:23
  they
• 35:23
  get
• 35:23
  bigger,
• 35:23
  don't
• 35:24
  plan
• 35:24
  ahead
• 35:25
  when
• 35:25
  they're
• 35:26
  naming
• 35:26
  for
• 35:26
  colors.
• 35:28
  So,
• 35:28
  for
• 35:28
  instance,
• 35:29
  the
• 35:29
  lightest
• 35:29
  color
• 35:30
  on.
• 35:30
  Let's
• 35:31
  go.
• 35:31
  Cherry,
• 35:31
  the
• 35:32
  lightest
• 35:32
  color,
• 35:32
  cherry
• 35:33
  would
• 35:33
  be
• 35:33
  natural.
• 35:34
  The
• 35:34
  next
• 35:34
  one,
• 35:35
  which
• 35:35
  had
• 35:35
  just
• 35:35
  a
• 35:36
  little
• 35:36
  tint
• 35:36
  to
• 35:36
  it,
• 35:37
  they
• 35:37
  called
• 35:38
  light.
• 35:39
  Then
• 35:39
  they
• 35:39
  had
• 35:40
  a
• 35:40
  bunch
• 35:40
  of
• 35:40
  different
• 35:40
  color
• 35:41
  names.
• 35:42
  Then
• 35:42
  they
• 35:42
  had
• 35:43
  dark,
• 35:44
  and
• 35:44
  then
• 35:44
  they
• 35:45
  had
• 35:45
  espresso,
• 35:46
  which
• 35:47
  was
• 35:47
  almost
• 35:47
  black.
• 35:49
  So
• 35:49
  if
• 35:49
  you
• 35:49
  want
• 35:49
  to
• 35:50
  see
• 35:50
  what
• 35:50
  miscommunication
• 35:51
  is,
• 35:51
  it's
• 35:52
  when
• 35:52
  Mrs.
• 35:52
  Smith
• 35:53
  walks
• 35:53
  in
• 35:54
  with
• 35:54
  Mr.
• 35:54
  Smith
• 35:55
  and
• 35:55
  I'm
• 35:55
  making
• 35:55
  names
• 35:56
  up
• 35:57
  and
• 35:57
  oh,
• 35:57
  yeah,
• 35:57
  cherry.
• 35:58
  I
• 35:58
  want
• 35:58
  the
• 35:58
  light
• 35:58
  one.
• 35:59
  They're
• 35:59
  talking
• 35:59
  to
• 36:00
  you.
• 36:00
  They
• 36:00
  want
• 36:00
  the
• 36:00
  natural
• 36:01
  one.
• 36:01
  Natural
• 36:03
  light
• 36:03
  is
• 36:03
  the
• 36:04
  stain
• 36:04
  color.
• 36:05
  So
• 36:05
  we
• 36:06
  had
• 36:06
  that
• 36:06
  happen
• 36:06
  a
• 36:07
  couple
• 36:07
  times
• 36:07
  where.
• 36:08
  Oh,
• 36:08
  yeah,
• 36:08
  the
• 36:09
  dark
• 36:09
  one,
• 36:09
  the
• 36:09
  dark
• 36:10
  one,
• 36:10
  the
• 36:10
  dark
• 36:10
  one.
• 36:11
  If
• 36:11
  you
• 36:12
  want
• 36:12
  the
• 36:12
  dark
• 36:12
  stain,
• 36:13
  that's
• 36:13
  its
• 36:14
  own
• 36:14
  color
• 36:14
  name,
• 36:15
  even
• 36:15
  though
• 36:16
  the
• 36:16
  darkest
• 36:16
  is
• 36:16
  espresso.
• 36:17
  And
• 36:18
  those
• 36:18
  are,
• 36:18
  in
• 36:19
  the
• 36:19
  cabinet
• 36:19
  world,
• 36:20
  very
• 36:20
  costly
• 36:21
  mistakes,
• 36:21
  because
• 36:22
  you're
• 36:22
  talking
• 36:23
  $40,000
• 36:24
  worth
• 36:24
  of
• 36:24
  cabinets,
• 36:24
  Bubba.
• 36:25
  That
• 36:25
  is
• 36:26
  not
• 36:26
  something
• 36:27
  that's
• 36:27
  easily
• 36:27
  fixed.
• 36:28
  You
• 36:28
  can't
• 36:28
  just
• 36:29
  fix
• 36:29
  that.
• 36:30
  So
• 36:30
  I
• 36:31
  learned
• 36:31
  that
• 36:31
  one
• 36:31
  early
• 36:32
  on
• 36:32
  after
• 36:32
  having
• 36:33
  to
• 36:33
  order
• 36:33
  a
• 36:33
  kitchen
• 36:33
  that
• 36:34
  was
• 36:34
  light.
• 36:35
  That
• 36:35
  was
• 36:36
  light,
• 36:36
  but
• 36:36
  not
• 36:37
  that
• 36:37
  light,
• 36:37
  luckily,
• 36:37
  was
• 36:38
  cherry.
• 36:38
  And
• 36:38
  so
• 36:39
  we
• 36:39
  got
• 36:39
  them
• 36:39
  to.
• 36:39
  We.
• 36:40
  We
• 36:40
  talked
• 36:40
  about
• 36:41
  darkening
• 36:41
  and
• 36:41
  how
• 36:41
  it
• 36:42
  evened
• 36:42
  it
• 36:42
  up,
• 36:42
  and
• 36:42
  we
• 36:42
  got
• 36:43
  through
• 36:43
  that.
• 36:43
  But
• 36:44
  from
• 36:44
  then
• 36:44
  on,
• 36:44
  as
• 36:45
  the
• 36:45
  cabinet
• 36:46
  designer
• 36:46
  and
• 36:46
  as
• 36:47
  a
• 36:47
  showroom
• 36:47
  owner,
• 36:48
  I
• 36:49
  made
• 36:49
  sure
• 36:49
  that
• 36:49
  we
• 36:49
  had
• 36:49
  a
• 36:50
  sample
• 36:50
  color
• 36:51
  that
• 36:51
  every
• 36:52
  single
• 36:52
  client
• 36:53
  from
• 36:53
  there
• 36:53
  on
• 36:53
  out,
• 36:53
  before
• 36:54
  we'd
• 36:54
  order
• 36:54
  anything,
• 36:56
  that
• 36:56
  designer
• 36:57
  had
• 36:57
  to
• 36:57
  hand
• 36:57
  me
• 36:58
  the
• 36:58
  sample
• 36:58
  with
• 36:58
  their
• 36:58
  initial
• 36:59
  on
• 36:59
  the
• 36:59
  back
• 36:59
  of
• 36:59
  it.
• 37:00
  Yep.
• 37:01
  So
• 37:01
  we
• 37:01
  knew
• 37:01
  what
• 37:01
  it
• 37:02
  was.
• 37:02
  But
• 37:02
  oh
• 37:03
  my
• 37:03
  gosh,
• 37:04
  that
• 37:04
  was
• 37:05
  horrible.
• 37:05
  And
• 37:05
  then
• 37:06
  I
• 37:06
  had
• 37:06
  my
• 37:06
  favorite
• 37:07
  delivery.
• 37:08
  This
• 37:08
  was
• 37:09
  a
• 37:09
  good
• 37:09
  one.
• 37:10
  Guy
• 37:10
  was
• 37:10
  doing
• 37:11
  a
• 37:11
  kind
• 37:11
  of
• 37:11
  a
• 37:11
  mother
• 37:11
  in
• 37:12
  law
• 37:12
  apartment
• 37:12
  on
• 37:13
  the
• 37:13
  second
• 37:13
  floor.
• 37:14
  So
• 37:14
  I
• 37:15
  walk
• 37:15
  over
• 37:15
  to
• 37:15
  the
• 37:15
  house,
• 37:15
  measured
• 37:16
  up,
• 37:16
  order
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  cabinets,
• 37:17
  walk
• 37:18
  in
• 37:18
  the
• 37:18
  door.
• 37:18
  There's
• 37:19
  that
• 37:19
  staircase
• 37:19
  that
• 37:20
  goes
• 37:20
  out,
• 37:20
  right?
• 37:20
  Simple,
• 37:21
  older
• 37:22
  1920s
• 37:23
  house.
• 37:23
  Similar
• 37:24
  to
• 37:24
  what,
• 37:24
  you
• 37:24
  know,
• 37:24
  your
• 37:24
  house
• 37:25
  over
• 37:25
  in
• 37:25
  Tacoma
• 37:26
  was.
• 37:26
  So
• 37:27
  my
• 37:27
  delivery
• 37:27
  driver
• 37:27
  calls
• 37:28
  me
• 37:28
  six
• 37:28
  weeks
• 37:29
  later
• 37:29
  and
• 37:29
  he's
• 37:30
  dropping
• 37:30
  every
• 37:31
  swear
• 37:31
  word
• 37:32
  in
• 37:32
  the
• 37:32
  book
• 37:33
  at
• 37:33
  me.
• 37:34
  There's
• 37:35
  no
• 37:35
  way
• 37:35
  I'm
• 37:35
  getting
• 37:35
  these
• 37:36
  in
• 37:36
  here.
• 37:36
  Why
• 37:36
  did
• 37:37
  you
• 37:37
  do
• 37:37
  this
• 37:37
  to
• 37:37
  me?
• 37:37
  And
• 37:38
  I'm
• 37:38
  like,
• 37:38
  dude,
• 37:39
  walk
• 37:39
  in
• 37:39
  the
• 37:39
  front
• 37:39
  door,
• 37:40
  go
• 37:40
  up
• 37:40
  to
• 37:40
  goes.
• 37:41
  That's
• 37:41
  a.
• 37:41
  No,
• 37:41
  there's
• 37:42
  no
• 37:42
  staircase.
• 37:43
  When
• 37:43
  you
• 37:43
  go
• 37:43
  in
• 37:43
  the
• 37:43
  front
• 37:43
  door,
• 37:44
  I'm
• 37:44
  like,
• 37:44
  is
• 37:45
  the
• 37:45
  homeowner
• 37:45
  there
• 37:46
  contractor?
• 37:47
  Because
• 37:47
  it
• 37:47
  was
• 37:47
  a
• 37:47
  DIY
• 37:48
  project.
• 37:49
  Yeah,
• 37:49
  hold
• 37:49
  on.
• 37:49
  I
• 37:49
  go,
• 37:50
  hey,
• 37:50
  man,
• 37:50
  what
• 37:50
  happened
• 37:50
  to
• 37:51
  the
• 37:51
  stairs?
• 37:52
  Oh,
• 37:52
  I
• 37:52
  decided
• 37:53
  we
• 37:53
  needed
• 37:53
  some
• 37:53
  more
• 37:53
  room
• 37:54
  downstairs,
• 37:54
  so
• 37:54
  I
• 37:54
  put
• 37:54
  a
• 37:55
  spiral
• 37:55
  staircase
• 37:56
  on
• 37:56
  the.
• 37:56
  Ah,
• 37:57
  sorry.
• 37:58
  You're
• 37:58
  not
• 37:58
  carrying
• 37:59
  a
• 37:59
  lazy
• 37:59
  Susan
• 38:00
  and
• 38:00
  a
• 38:00
  refrigerator
• 38:01
  up
• 38:02
  a
• 38:02
  spiral
• 38:02
  staircase,
• 38:04
  let
• 38:04
  alone
• 38:05
  mattresses,
• 38:06
  entertainment
• 38:06
  centers,
• 38:07
  televisions,
• 38:08
  whatever.
• 38:08
  What
• 38:09
  a
• 38:09
  genius.
• 38:10
  And
• 38:10
  so
• 38:10
  I
• 38:11
  made
• 38:11
  him
• 38:11
  pull
• 38:11
  his
• 38:11
  cars
• 38:12
  out
• 38:12
  of
• 38:12
  the
• 38:12
  garage
• 38:12
  and
• 38:12
  said,
• 38:13
  hey,
• 38:13
  man,
• 38:13
  they're
• 38:13
  going
• 38:13
  in
• 38:13
  there.
• 38:14
  You're
• 38:14
  gonna
• 38:14
  have
• 38:14
  to
• 38:14
  figure
• 38:15
  that
• 38:15
  out.
• 38:15
  Yep,
• 38:16
  that's
• 38:16
  on
• 38:16
  you,
• 38:16
  buddy.
• 38:17
  Sorry,
• 38:18
  change
• 38:18
  of
• 38:19
  plans.
• 38:19
  Yeah,
• 38:20
  that's
• 38:20
  your
• 38:20
  own
• 38:20
  change
• 38:21
  order.
• 38:21
  Figure
• 38:21
  it
• 38:21
  out.
• 38:22
  So
• 38:23
  just
• 38:24
  made
• 38:24
  me
• 38:24
  think
• 38:24
  of
• 38:24
  us
• 38:25
  lugging
• 38:25
  that
• 38:25
  2
• 38:26
  inch
• 38:26
  tape
• 38:26
  machine
• 38:26
  up
• 38:27
  the
• 38:27
  stairs
• 38:27
  to
• 38:27
  get
• 38:28
  into
• 38:28
  the
• 38:28
  studio.
• 38:28
  And
• 38:29
  the
• 38:29
  carriage
• 38:29
  house,
• 38:29
  dude
• 38:30
  thing
• 38:31
  is
• 38:31
  heavier
• 38:31
  than
• 38:31
  a
• 38:31
  piano.
• 38:33
  That
• 38:33
  thing
• 38:33
  was
• 38:33
  heavy.
• 38:34
  You'd
• 38:34
  carry
• 38:34
  your
• 38:35
  mic
• 38:35
  bag
• 38:35
  and
• 38:35
  your
• 38:36
  guitar
• 38:36
  up
• 38:36
  there,
• 38:36
  and
• 38:36
  I
• 38:37
  had
• 38:37
  to
• 38:37
  carry
• 38:37
  that.
• 38:38
  Yeah,
• 38:38
  yeah,
• 38:38
  the
• 38:38
  fridge.
• 38:39
  The
• 38:39
  fridge,
• 38:40
  the
• 38:41
  full
• 38:41
  stack
• 38:41
  up
• 38:42
  there.
• 38:42
  That's
• 38:43
  what
• 38:43
  you
• 38:43
  get
• 38:43
  for
• 38:43
  playing
• 38:43
  bass.
• 38:44
  I
• 38:44
  know
• 38:45
  I
• 38:45
  should
• 38:45
  have
• 38:45
  been
• 38:45
  a
• 38:46
  drummer
• 38:46
  and
• 38:46
  had
• 38:46
  less
• 38:46
  equipment,
• 38:48
  but
• 38:48
  that's
• 38:48
  the
• 38:48
  fun
• 38:49
  part
• 38:49
  of
• 38:49
  that.
• 38:49
  That's
• 38:50
  the
• 38:50
  fun
• 38:50
  part
• 38:50
  of
• 38:50
  that.
• 38:50
  And
• 38:51
  by
• 38:51
  the
• 38:51
  way,
• 38:51
  if
• 38:51
  you
• 38:51
  guys
• 38:52
  are
• 38:52
  listening
• 38:52
  to
• 38:52
  the
• 38:52
  show
• 38:52
  right
• 38:52
  now
• 38:53
  and
• 38:53
  you're
• 38:53
  like,
• 38:53
  oh,
• 38:53
  what's
• 38:54
  this
• 38:54
  band?
• 38:54
  You'll
• 38:55
  hear
• 38:55
  it
• 38:55
  in
• 38:56
  the
• 38:56
  show.
• 38:57
  So
• 38:57
  this
• 38:57
  is
• 38:57
  something
• 38:58
  that
• 38:58
  these
• 38:59
  little
• 38:59
  Stories
• 38:59
  are
• 39:00
  stuff
• 39:00
  that
• 39:00
  we've
• 39:00
  had.
• 39:01
  Stories
• 39:02
  that's
• 39:02
  a
• 39:02
  song
• 39:02
  anyway.
• 39:03
  That's
• 39:03
  the
• 39:03
  things
• 39:04
  that
• 39:04
  we've
• 39:04
  been
• 39:04
  going
• 39:04
  through.
• 39:05
  And
• 39:05
  these
• 39:05
  are
• 39:06
  the
• 39:06
  backstories
• 39:06
  for
• 39:06
  all
• 39:07
  of
• 39:07
  this.
• 39:07
  But
• 39:07
  it's
• 39:08
  so
• 39:08
  fun.
• 39:08
  And
• 39:09
  again,
• 39:09
  back
• 39:09
  to
• 39:10
  getting
• 39:10
  people
• 39:10
  into
• 39:11
  the
• 39:11
  trades.
• 39:11
  And
• 39:11
  just
• 39:12
  to
• 39:12
  put
• 39:12
  a
• 39:12
  full
• 39:12
  circle
• 39:13
  wrap
• 39:13
  as
• 39:13
  we
• 39:13
  wrap
• 39:14
  up
• 39:14
  this
• 39:14
  year
• 39:14
  in
• 39:14
  a
• 39:14
  few
• 39:14
  minutes,
• 39:16
  really,
• 39:16
  I
• 39:16
  think
• 39:16
  that
• 39:17
  if
• 39:18
  you're
• 39:18
  trying
• 39:18
  to
• 39:18
  get
• 39:18
  into
• 39:19
  the
• 39:19
  trades,
• 39:19
  now
• 39:19
  is
• 39:20
  the
• 39:20
  time
• 39:20
  out
• 39:20
  there.
• 39:21
  Because
• 39:21
  it
• 39:21
  doesn't
• 39:22
  matter
• 39:22
  if
• 39:22
  you
• 39:22
  want
• 39:22
  to
• 39:22
  be
• 39:23
  a
• 39:23
  tile
• 39:23
  setter
• 39:24
  or
• 39:24
  if
• 39:24
  you
• 39:24
  want
• 39:24
  to
• 39:24
  be
• 39:24
  a
• 39:25
  brick
• 39:25
  mason
• 39:25
  or,
• 39:26
  or
• 39:26
  do
• 39:27
  concrete
• 39:28
  flat
• 39:28
  work
• 39:29
  or
• 39:29
  whatever.
• 39:29
  There
• 39:30
  are
• 39:30
  people
• 39:30
  out
• 39:30
  there
• 39:31
  that
• 39:31
  are
• 39:31
  willing
• 39:32
  to
• 39:32
  show
• 39:32
  you
• 39:32
  the
• 39:33
  ropes.
• 39:34
  And
• 39:34
  there's
• 39:35
  unions
• 39:35
  out
• 39:35
  there
• 39:36
  if
• 39:36
  you
• 39:36
  want
• 39:36
  to
• 39:36
  go
• 39:36
  that
• 39:36
  route.
• 39:37
  There's
• 39:38
  a
• 39:38
  lot
• 39:38
  of
• 39:38
  different
• 39:39
  ways
• 39:39
  to
• 39:39
  get
• 39:40
  into
• 39:40
  the
• 39:40
  trades.
• 39:41
  But
• 39:41
  go
• 39:41
  out
• 39:41
  there,
• 39:41
  get
• 39:42
  a
• 39:42
  job,
• 39:42
  get
• 39:43
  into
• 39:43
  it.
• 39:43
  Because
• 39:44
  there
• 39:44
  is
• 39:44
  such
• 39:45
  a
• 39:45
  shortage,
• 39:45
  we
• 39:46
  got
• 39:46
  millions
• 39:46
  of
• 39:46
  jobs
• 39:47
  out
• 39:47
  there
• 39:47
  that
• 39:47
  are
• 39:47
  open
• 39:48
  and
• 39:49
  as
• 39:49
  soon
• 39:49
  as
• 39:49
  they
• 39:49
  drop
• 39:50
  the
• 39:50
  interest
• 39:50
  rates
• 39:50
  down
• 39:50
  here
• 39:51
  a
• 39:51
  little
• 39:51
  bit,
• 39:51
  we're
• 39:51
  going
• 39:51
  to
• 39:51
  see
• 39:52
  housing
• 39:52
  construction,
• 39:52
  even
• 39:53
  get
• 39:53
  more
• 39:53
  of
• 39:53
  it.
• 39:54
  Even
• 39:54
  in
• 39:54
  today's
• 39:55
  economy,
• 39:55
  which
• 39:55
  isn't
• 39:56
  great
• 39:56
  for
• 39:56
  building
• 39:56
  right
• 39:57
  now,
• 39:57
  not
• 39:58
  too
• 39:58
  many
• 39:58
  contractors
• 39:59
  are
• 39:59
  out
• 39:59
  of
• 39:59
  business
• 39:59
  out
• 39:59
  there
• 40:00
  right
• 40:00
  now.
• 40:00
  Things
• 40:01
  are
• 40:01
  tight.
• 40:02
  It
• 40:02
  just
• 40:02
  never
• 40:03
  stops.
• 40:03
  Everybody
• 40:04
  needs
• 40:04
  a
• 40:04
  place
• 40:04
  to
• 40:05
  live.
• 40:05
  Everybody's
• 40:05
  always
• 40:06
  going
• 40:06
  to
• 40:06
  work
• 40:06
  on
• 40:06
  their
• 40:06
  house.
• 40:07
  And
• 40:07
  I
• 40:08
  can
• 40:08
  tell
• 40:08
  you,
• 40:08
  as
• 40:08
  a
• 40:08
  contractor
• 40:09
  of
• 40:09
  30
• 40:09
  years,
• 40:10
  like
• 40:11
  I
• 40:11
  mentioned,
• 40:11
  my
• 40:11
  little
• 40:11
  brother
• 40:12
  Joey.
• 40:13
  And
• 40:13
  over
• 40:13
  the
• 40:13
  course,
• 40:14
  as
• 40:14
  those
• 40:14
  kids
• 40:15
  grew
• 40:15
  up,
• 40:15
  man,
• 40:15
  I
• 40:16
  ended
• 40:16
  up
• 40:16
  hiring
• 40:17
  half
• 40:17
  a
• 40:17
  dozen
• 40:17
  of
• 40:17
  his
• 40:18
  friends.
• 40:19
  They
• 40:19
  might
• 40:19
  just
• 40:19
  come
• 40:20
  work
• 40:20
  for
• 40:20
  the
• 40:20
  summer,
• 40:21
  they
• 40:21
  might
• 40:21
  whatever.
• 40:22
  But
• 40:22
  man,
• 40:22
  they
• 40:23
  got
• 40:23
  some
• 40:23
  good
• 40:23
  change
• 40:23
  in
• 40:24
  their
• 40:24
  pocket
• 40:24
  and
• 40:24
  they
• 40:25
  learned
• 40:25
  some
• 40:25
  skills.
• 40:26
  And
• 40:26
  I
• 40:27
  was
• 40:27
  always
• 40:27
  cool
• 40:27
  and
• 40:27
  easy
• 40:28
  going.
• 40:28
  They
• 40:28
  dug
• 40:29
  it.
• 40:29
  It
• 40:29
  was
• 40:29
  like
• 40:29
  hanging
• 40:30
  out
• 40:30
  with
• 40:30
  another
• 40:31
  brother.
• 40:32
  And.
• 40:32
  And
• 40:33
  I
• 40:33
  will
• 40:33
  tell
• 40:33
  you
• 40:34
  that
• 40:35
  it's
• 40:35
  hard
• 40:35
  to
• 40:36
  find
• 40:36
  good
• 40:36
  help.
• 40:37
  So
• 40:37
  it's
• 40:38
  not
• 40:38
  like
• 40:38
  this
• 40:38
  competitive
• 40:39
  field
• 40:39
  like,
• 40:40
  oh,
• 40:40
  I
• 40:40
  can't
• 40:40
  be
• 40:40
  a
• 40:40
  good
• 40:40
  enough
• 40:41
  carpenter.
• 40:41
  Man,
• 40:42
  if
• 40:42
  you
• 40:42
  just
• 40:42
  show
• 40:43
  up
• 40:43
  and
• 40:44
  be
• 40:44
  teachable,
• 40:45
  you
• 40:46
  are
• 40:46
  gold
• 40:47
  to
• 40:47
  a
• 40:47
  general
• 40:48
  contractor
• 40:48
  or
• 40:49
  a
• 40:49
  lead
• 40:49
  carpenter
• 40:50
  or
• 40:50
  a
• 40:50
  boss,
• 40:51
  or
• 40:51
  if
• 40:52
  you're
• 40:52
  willing
• 40:52
  to
• 40:52
  learn,
• 40:53
  willing
• 40:53
  to
• 40:53
  show
• 40:54
  up
• 40:54
  on
• 40:54
  time,
• 40:55
  pay
• 40:55
  attention,
• 40:56
  follow
• 40:56
  directions.
• 40:57
  That
• 40:58
  doesn't
• 40:58
  mean
• 40:58
  you
• 40:58
  have
• 40:58
  to
• 40:59
  put
• 40:59
  up
• 40:59
  with
• 40:59
  some
• 40:59
  prick
• 40:59
  screaming
• 41:00
  at
• 41:00
  you
• 41:00
  all
• 41:00
  day.
• 41:01
  Yeah,
• 41:01
  stand
• 41:02
  your
• 41:02
  own.
• 41:03
  But
• 41:03
  man,
• 41:03
  you
• 41:03
  can
• 41:03
  learn
• 41:04
  so
• 41:04
  much
• 41:05
  and
• 41:06
  pretty
• 41:06
  quickly
• 41:07
  in
• 41:07
  a
• 41:07
  couple
• 41:07
  of
• 41:07
  years,
• 41:08
  you're
• 41:08
  knocking
• 41:08
  down
• 41:08
  100k.
• 41:09
  If
• 41:09
  you're
• 41:09
  paying
• 41:09
  attention.
• 41:10
  It's
• 41:11
  not
• 41:11
  that
• 41:11
  difficult.
• 41:12
  The
• 41:12
  first
• 41:12
  few
• 41:13
  weeks
• 41:13
  is,
• 41:14
  it's
• 41:14
  gonna
• 41:14
  suck,
• 41:14
  your
• 41:15
  body's
• 41:15
  gonna
• 41:15
  hurt,
• 41:15
  you're
• 41:15
  gonna
• 41:16
  be,
• 41:16
  I'm
• 41:16
  dying.
• 41:17
  You'll
• 41:17
  live.
• 41:18
  You'll
• 41:18
  be
• 41:18
  okay.
• 41:19
  Yep.
• 41:19
  Absolutely,
• 41:20
  man.
• 41:21
  And
• 41:21
  it's
• 41:21
  so
• 41:21
  true,
• 41:21
  because
• 41:22
  you
• 41:22
  know
• 41:22
  everything.
• 41:23
  You
• 41:23
  do
• 41:23
  that
• 41:23
  and
• 41:24
  you
• 41:24
  can't
• 41:25
  start
• 41:25
  people
• 41:25
  early
• 41:26
  enough.
• 41:26
  It's
• 41:26
  so
• 41:26
  funny.
• 41:27
  You
• 41:27
  can
• 41:27
  literally
• 41:28
  start
• 41:28
  your
• 41:28
  kids
• 41:28
  by
• 41:28
  going
• 41:29
  into
• 41:29
  the
• 41:29
  Home
• 41:29
  Depot
• 41:30
  on
• 41:31
  a
• 41:31
  Saturday
• 41:31
  morning
• 41:31
  with
• 41:31
  your
• 41:32
  kids
• 41:32
  and
• 41:32
  having
• 41:32
  them
• 41:32
  build
• 41:33
  birdhouses
• 41:33
  in
• 41:33
  there
• 41:34
  at
• 41:34
  the
• 41:34
  Home
• 41:34
  Depot
• 41:35
  stores
• 41:35
  and
• 41:35
  still
• 41:35
  do
• 41:36
  it.
• 41:36
  Get
• 41:36
  them
• 41:37
  excited.
• 41:37
  Get
• 41:37
  the
• 41:38
  kids
• 41:38
  out
• 41:38
  there
• 41:38
  helping
• 41:39
  along.
• 41:39
  Get
• 41:39
  them
• 41:39
  out
• 41:39
  in
• 41:39
  front
• 41:40
  of
• 41:40
  those
• 41:40
  video
• 41:40
  games
• 41:40
  and
• 41:41
  get
• 41:41
  them
• 41:41
  out
• 41:41
  there.
• 41:42
  But
• 41:43
  Joey's
• 41:43
  two
• 41:43
  little
• 41:44
  kids
• 41:44
  are
• 41:44
  five
• 41:44
  and
• 41:44
  three
• 41:45
  and
• 41:45
  they're
• 41:45
  down
• 41:45
  in
• 41:45
  the
• 41:45
  workshop
• 41:46
  with
• 41:46
  them
• 41:46
  all
• 41:47
  the
• 41:47
  time
• 41:47
  pounding
• 41:48
  on
• 41:48
  wood
• 41:48
  sawing
• 41:49
  stuff
• 41:49
  at
• 41:49
  five
• 41:49
  years
• 41:50
  old.
• 41:52
  They
• 41:52
  love
• 41:52
  it.
• 41:53
  Yep.
• 41:53
  Oh,
• 41:54
  that's
• 41:54
  what's
• 41:55
  great
• 41:55
  too.
• 41:55
  Elisa,
• 41:56
  my
• 41:56
  amazing
• 41:56
  girlfriend,
• 41:57
  she
• 41:57
  sits
• 41:57
  there
• 41:58
  and
• 41:58
  she
• 41:58
  was
• 41:58
  watching.
• 41:59
  We
• 41:59
  were
• 41:59
  watching
• 41:59
  a
• 41:59
  Blacktail
• 42:00
  studio
• 42:01
  video
• 42:01
  the
• 42:01
  other
• 42:01
  day.
• 42:02
  We're
• 42:02
  watching
• 42:02
  from
• 42:02
  Cam
• 42:03
  Anderson,
• 42:03
  my
• 42:03
  buddy,
• 42:04
  and
• 42:05
  she's.
• 42:06
  He's
• 42:06
  finishing.
• 42:07
  She
• 42:07
  goes,
• 42:07
  oh,
• 42:08
  I'd
• 42:08
  used
• 42:08
  a
• 42:09
  tack
• 42:09
  cloth
• 42:09
  right
• 42:09
  there.
• 42:10
  In
• 42:10
  10
• 42:10
  seconds,
• 42:11
  I'm
• 42:11
  gonna
• 42:11
  grab
• 42:11
  the
• 42:12
  tack
• 42:12
  cloth.
• 42:12
  And
• 42:13
  I'm
• 42:13
  like,
• 42:14
  okay,
• 42:14
  that
• 42:14
  was
• 42:14
  hot.
• 42:15
  Nice.
• 42:15
  You
• 42:16
  know
• 42:16
  what
• 42:16
  I
• 42:16
  mean?
• 42:16
  It
• 42:16
  was
• 42:17
  like
• 42:17
  she
• 42:17
  could
• 42:18
  run
• 42:18
  a
• 42:18
  lathe
• 42:18
  probably
• 42:18
  better
• 42:19
  than
• 42:19
  I
• 42:19
  can,
• 42:19
  which
• 42:19
  I
• 42:19
  think
• 42:20
  is
• 42:20
  hot.
• 42:20
  So
• 42:21
  a
• 42:21
  little
• 42:21
  blonde
• 42:21
  girl
• 42:21
  running
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  tools.
• 42:22
  I
• 42:22
  like
• 42:23
  it.
• 42:23
  I
• 42:23
  like
• 42:23
  it.
• 42:24
  But
• 42:24
  that's
• 42:25
  the
• 42:25
  fun
• 42:25
  part.
• 42:25
  And
• 42:26
  again,
• 42:26
  this
• 42:26
  is
• 42:27
  something
• 42:27
  that,
• 42:28
  you
• 42:28
  know,
• 42:28
  I
• 42:28
  know
• 42:29
  amazing
• 42:30
  women
• 42:30
  electricians
• 42:31
  out
• 42:31
  there.
• 42:31
  They're
• 42:32
  making
• 42:32
  the
• 42:32
  clothes,
• 42:33
  they're
• 42:33
  making
• 42:33
  the
• 42:34
  workwear
• 42:35
  for
• 42:36
  everybody
• 42:36
  now,
• 42:37
  which
• 42:37
  is
• 42:37
  really
• 42:37
  cool.
• 42:38
  And
• 42:39
  I
• 42:39
  tell
• 42:39
  you
• 42:39
  what,
• 42:39
  there
• 42:40
  was
• 42:40
  something
• 42:40
  that
• 42:40
  I
• 42:41
  learned
• 42:41
  early
• 42:42
  on
• 42:42
  when
• 42:42
  I
• 42:42
  was
• 42:42
  going
• 42:42
  down
• 42:43
  to
• 42:43
  El
• 42:43
  Salvador
• 42:44
  working.
• 42:44
  We
• 42:45
  were
• 42:45
  having
• 42:45
  to
• 42:45
  put
• 42:46
  in
• 42:46
  this
• 42:46
  water
• 42:46
  system
• 42:46
  and
• 42:47
  I
• 42:47
  was
• 42:47
  digging
• 42:47
  this
• 42:47
  ditch
• 42:48
  and
• 42:48
  I
• 42:48
  was
• 42:49
  volunteering.
• 42:49
  And
• 42:49
  that
• 42:50
  was
• 42:50
  about
• 42:50
  the
• 42:50
  time
• 42:50
  that
• 42:50
  you
• 42:51
  and
• 42:51
  I
• 42:51
  were
• 42:51
  working
• 42:51
  together.
• 42:52
  Early
• 42:52
  on,
• 42:53
  I'd
• 42:53
  go
• 42:53
  down
• 42:53
  there
• 42:53
  for
• 42:54
  10
• 42:54
  days
• 42:54
  and
• 42:54
  we
• 42:54
  were
• 42:55
  working
• 42:55
  in
• 42:55
  a
• 42:55
  village.
• 42:56
  Those
• 42:56
  kids
• 42:57
  can
• 42:57
  dig
• 42:58
  ditches
• 42:58
  way
• 42:58
  faster
• 42:59
  than
• 42:59
  I
• 42:59
  could.
• 42:59
  Oh,
• 43:00
  dude.
• 43:00
  You
• 43:01
  see
• 43:01
  the
• 43:01
  workers
• 43:01
  in
• 43:02
  Columbia
• 43:02
  here?
• 43:03
  Yeah.
• 43:03
  And
• 43:04
  then.
• 43:04
  And
• 43:04
  they
• 43:04
  go
• 43:04
  work
• 43:04
  at
• 43:05
  construction
• 43:05
  site.
• 43:06
  Never
• 43:06
  mind,
• 43:06
  they'll
• 43:07
  stop.
• 43:07
  Yeah.
• 43:08
  Just
• 43:08
  the
• 43:09
  difference
• 43:09
  in
• 43:09
  tenacity
• 43:10
  and
• 43:10
  the.
• 43:11
  I
• 43:12
  went
• 43:12
  and
• 43:13
  watered
• 43:13
  plants
• 43:14
  on
• 43:14
  a
• 43:14
  mountain.
• 43:14
  Like
• 43:15
  a
• 43:15
  goat
• 43:15
  mountain.
• 43:16
  Yeah.
• 43:16
  With
• 43:17
  10
• 43:17
  gallon
• 43:17
  Hudson's
• 43:18
  Frayer
• 43:18
  on
• 43:19
  my
• 43:19
  back,
• 43:19
  which
• 43:20
  is
• 43:20
  heavy.
• 43:20
  That's
• 43:21
  two
• 43:21
  five
• 43:21
  gallon
• 43:22
  buckets
• 43:22
  of
• 43:22
  paint
• 43:22
  on
• 43:23
  my
• 43:23
  back.
• 43:23
  Yeah,
• 43:23
  exactly.
• 43:24
  I
• 43:24
  weigh
• 43:25
  a
• 43:25
  buck
• 43:25
  40.
• 43:26
  I'm
• 43:26
  not
• 43:26
  the
• 43:26
  biggest
• 43:27
  guy
• 43:28
  with
• 43:28
  a.
• 43:28
  20
• 43:29
  pound
• 43:29
  pack
• 43:29
  on.
• 43:29
  Yeah.
• 43:30
  And
• 43:30
  I
• 43:30
  spent
• 43:30
  a
• 43:30
  day
• 43:31
  standing
• 43:31
  sideways
• 43:32
  on
• 43:32
  this
• 43:32
  mountain
• 43:33
  watering
• 43:33
  little
• 43:33
  plants
• 43:34
  with
• 43:34
  a
• 43:34
  Hudson
• 43:34
  sprayer
• 43:35
  man
• 43:35
  in
• 43:35
  rubber
• 43:36
  boots
• 43:36
  and
• 43:37
  slipping
• 43:38
  in
• 43:38
  the
• 43:38
  mud.
• 43:38
  And
• 43:39
  there's
• 43:39
  everybody
• 43:39
  from
• 43:40
  15
• 43:41
  year
• 43:41
  old
• 43:41
  kids
• 43:41
  up
• 43:42
  there
• 43:42
  to
• 43:43
  70
• 43:44
  year
• 43:44
  old
• 43:44
  granddads,
• 43:45
  man.
• 43:45
  And
• 43:45
  they
• 43:46
  are
• 43:46
  balls
• 43:47
  tough.
• 43:47
  Like
• 43:47
  woof.
• 43:48
  How
• 43:49
  does
• 43:49
  this
• 43:49
  guy
• 43:50
  show
• 43:50
  up
• 43:50
  at
• 43:50
  6am
• 43:51
  every
• 43:51
  day
• 43:51
  and
• 43:52
  do
• 43:52
  this
• 43:52
  for
• 43:52
  12
• 43:52
  hours?
• 43:53
  It's
• 43:53
  amazing.
• 43:54
  Yeah.
• 43:54
  And
• 43:54
  they
• 43:54
  and
• 43:56
  see
• 43:56
  them
• 43:56
  in
• 43:57
  the.
• 43:57
  Sienna
• 43:57
  and
• 43:57
  they're
• 43:58
  happy
• 43:58
  as
• 43:58
  hell.
• 43:58
  They're
• 43:59
  like,
• 43:59
  oh
• 43:59
  yeah.
• 44:00
  And
• 44:00
  they
• 44:00
  make
• 44:00
  300
• 44:01
  bucks
• 44:01
  a
• 44:01
  month.
• 44:01
  Like
• 44:02
  it's
• 44:02
  crazy.
• 44:03
  It's
• 44:03
  crazy.
• 44:04
