East-central Wisconsin took a direct hit from monstrous hailstorms on July 1st, with baseball-sized hail slamming Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. The National Weather Service issued rapid severe thunderstorm warnings as the storms intensified, starting with quarter-sized hail westward before exploding into three-inch hail balls eastward. Wind gusts hit 60 mph as the system moved through Plymouth, Kohler, and Sheboygan. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, though property damage is still being assessed.
