- Yes, we're live. Hey, I welcome to cross-baltic on the fight laugh face network. It's good to be with you pastor Toby Chalk Knox is we have him working say well. We have him working. He you know, he needs to work JD Vance we have him working. He wants to fight weight gain with more weight gain I don't know that one that wasn't as good as a lot of people haven't I've been working on that one it came to my mind Like right the metaphor and I was like yes, and he's like it really what he wants to do is he wants to you know Instead of real okay, he'd ice cream was to reallocate those twinkies. He wants to eat. Yeah, Twinkies That's right instead of eating them a lunch. We're getting them at breakfast. I don't know so if you guys have been paying to John This this weekend The internet kind of blew up because JD Vance was at a I think a rally stop and he was talking about kind of new economic policies The administration's working on a bunch of other stuff and he Was talking about how the childcare you know program and the federal funding that goes to childcare and the whole Somalian Corruption that was happening through the childcare program is like why don't we just reallocate that to home Mother's to some others at home You know we've been pillaged here in America and and we should just reallocate these funds these childcare funds to home makers And so I I tweeted out. I was like this is just socialism That's all it is and I tweeted out a couple of things and and I mean Hundreds of thousands of views like like like to I had two tweets around this that like a blown up But but I want to show you the video that I tweeted I was tweeting off of and let's run that clip right now Which is they're trying to tear down this country tear down our young people tear down our military and what's left over With the ashes of what they've torn down is Socialism but we've got a different approach my friends. We want to invest in you We want to fight for you and we want to fight for your children's future We're going to defeat socialism by giving you a stake in the American dream and that's how we're going to win the future But I got to say that what we're doing isn't it's not just a two-year or even a four-year process Think about this this country was plundered over a generation Our goal is to reverse a consensus. Yes, it is screwed over communities like this one for decades So that was the clip we're gonna defeat socialism with Socialism or we're gonna hook you up to the machine. Yeah, and so I mean there's there's a lot to be said here But one of the things that I when I that I found when I was debating on this on on on the Twitter's was that no I don't know conservative right leaning right guy whatever wanted to call this socialism and that was And what they what they're trying to argue like if the money's there You're never gonna get a Congress to overturn that that budget item and So you might as well take that money and then reroute it for a better more incentive a more family oriented purpose sure and And I'm very sympathetic to that argument because I mean we just got socialism around us all It's everywhere. It's our education. It's in our healthcare. It's it's just Laced throughout every part of our economy So I'm sympathetic because like there's money there. There's a budget there Let's put it to the best use and yeah, I want that budget eliminated and some of the worst abuses of welfare have been actually incentivizing Out of wedlock pregnancies and single moms is the whole you know welfare queen right phenomenon Where you get more per baby regardless if you're married or not no you get and it's sometimes you get more because you're not because you're not married And so like and if you got married then the the benefits go down Yeah, and so they're like you know the the So to live in boyfriend's the best economic situation so I want to grant the point that the worst forms of welfare incentivized Immorality yeah, and incentivize the breakdown of the family And so some people are coming along saying this is incentivizing Having children families in intact marriage home home makers homes at home So and this is actually in the in the proposed plan again, this is just a proposal at this point as far as I know I don't think anything has actually been officially decided But in the Trump Vance proposal recipients would have to be married and and and one of the spouses would have to work at least 35 hours a week And and then the idea is rather than allocating funds for daycare right so that the other spouse has to go to work He is also working and then taking that the idea is well, why can't mom stay home with the kids? And that would be the you know, maybe I guess the best case scenario best case scenario will be mom stays home with the kids You know where she wants to be right she doesn't have to work And and in these you know difficult economic times A young struggling family can be a family and be a a traditional family and again So the so the money instead of going to small and daycares you know, let's let's give it Or for queens. Let's give it to mom who's staying at home. I want to add one more angle to this real quick Just one more. That's all I know and so I'm sympathetic To that argument And I'm sympathetic to the argument that The Republicans are never going to overturn this because they're cowards They aren't going to reallocate a budget. They aren't going to shut down any welfare programs They just don't do that kind of thing right But and then I'll add to this kind of in their favor and one more point in their favor is that Okay, I said socialism is everywhere and it's the kind of socialism where I cannot even avoid it right When a government put the stimulus we're all socialists now. Yeah, I mean in a sense like you everybody lives in a soft socialist society Right, and when a government puts a stimulus check in my bank account right I balk I tell this is dumb I call it socialism. This is socialism and and I can't they just force that right that stimulus money into my bank account and I can't return it right Yeah, I know I've told this before on the show, but I in the early days of of me I'm filing my taxes You know, you I was we were dirt poor and you know They they take a little bit out of your check and then you know I basically got most of it back and and there was there's like the regular Child tax credit At least this is what back in the day which basically paid you back anything that they paid they took from you Yeah, and I was like oh, yeah, give me my money back and I like two kids at the time and yeah And then but then I got for the first couple years I got letters from the IRS afterwards saying you're eligible for the I don't remember what's called like the extra tax credit grocery tax credit No, it was another child tax credit, but it was like you can actually get more back And I was like well, I already got all my money back. So no, that's not my money. Yeah, I don't need it And so I just round file the The IRS letter and I did that like two years in a row And then I think like the third or fourth year was like the first time I actually was like oh, they'll do the direct deposit thing Yeah, and I you know, so I gave him my my routing number and everything else Well, then I did the exact same thing that I always did yeah, but this time instead of getting the letter telling me I was eligible for it They just put it in my account wow, yeah, and I was like that's not my money. Yeah, and that's socialism Yeah, and I don't know how to give it back and so that's been happening for many years. Yeah, right now Over time my tax burden got higher and higher such that you know, there's still like none of that's paying back Right, right, they took from me. No, so I don't feel quite the same about it But like you know during covid we have the stimulus checks the same kind of thing. Yeah, but um, but So what I did and I know I wouldn't like bind anybody's conscious with this, but I just like And I think an argument could be made that if you probably you know, did the math of everything that you're being taxed It's like gas tax, you know grocery tax. Yeah, so far over 10% yeah, which is as far you know, that like that's that's max That you know Probably a lot of people could say that's just them paying me back. Yeah, so I that's why it's I get it. Yeah, but For myself because I wanted to remind myself this is socialism and this is not my money. Yeah, what I started doing on it Was I just started doing a double tithe on it. Yeah, right and and I was just sort of my way of saying this is stolen money I can't I don't have any way of giving it back and and I don't think this is right. Yeah, and um, and so I think I think doing something like that That just sort of says like you know You may maybe you give a larger offering to missions or um do something like that. Yeah just to Personally and before God be like I don't think this is right. Yeah, I think this is good And and I think to your point like so We're not purists like we're like right like you nobody's a purist right no like everybody's I've participated in dripping dripping wet as a socialism that's not the issue. Yeah, and The the issue is is um tell the truth that's right and so your point about saying that's been mind boggling about this Socialism. Yeah, it is socialism now Yeah, is it In the short term am I happy to grant that helping a young struggling married couple um is way better than a small-in-day care small-in-day care or or you know the welfare queen is just you know Having babies with random dudes so she can get a check so she can stay home and not actually be a mom Oh, yeah, 100% yeah, 100% but um, but I think that's um that's not the same thing as saying this is winning. Yeah, right no This is this is rearranging the furniture on the Titanic. Yeah, you know, and it's like this is still like this is still stolen money This is still redistribution of of Wealth yeah This is you know, and if you can send the money up to the top of the ship to last a little longer. Yeah And and I and and I don't again, I want to say like a family that maybe has a little bit more time together with the kids Yeah, yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's better absolutely but But you can't do this and also at the same time not talk about all the negative things. Yeah, that's the issue And now I think to me in a world full of socialism all around is some of what we can't even see that we're participating in I think part of what it means to think to be free people in that kind of binding You know, almost slave context is that you're thinking this way. Yeah, you're thinking clearly you know it's socialism You know, you're still participating in it, right, and you know Tomorrow if I could hit the easy button and end all these programs. I would do it. Absolutely knowing that I would lose that money And that's what I think that's the inductive problem here, right is that once these people These moms these families Start getting on that doll on that government doll, right? You know, do they have the free mind the freedom mentality To be able to reject it and not fall into that right that that welfare ditch right that you start to just become a slave to so So let's so to everybody out there who's like it's better to support the traditional family structure Then the Somali daycares and the welfare queens. Yes. Okay. We grant that yeah our point though is tell the truth And so what we want to do is I want to walk through now here are all the problems Okay, because if if this have this goes through something like this goes through we've we've got to look at the problems Straight in the face, but but a couple other little things will fast before we get there number one one of the things that people are claiming is that Is that the money is simply there They're not gonna end the program because Republicans are feckless and and cowards and the end of the courage and the backbone actually in the program The money's there we might as well just redirect it to good cause Like it's baked in the cake like let's say public school education. It's just there, but but actually The child care, I don't remember what's called distribution act or something care um CCDC I think is it is the acronym. Yeah Only 30% of that is baked in 30% of it is provided for Going all the way back to the Social Security Act 70% of that funding has to be reappropriated by Congress every single year Okay Of the child care. Yeah funding of that funding. Okay. Yeah 70% of it. Yeah. So again, it's like that Even not much like even if you can't dismantle it so I saw a tweet from Michael Knowles. Yeah, and he said something like you know, so am I getting this right? They're saying um, you know since we can't dismantle Well fair We should not give any money to nuclear families. Yeah, I was I well, I don't maybe some people are saying that And obviously I would love to dismantle welfare. Yeah, but I'm assuming we can't yeah But that's not the same thing as saying but can we not cut funding at all? Yeah, can we not Cut taxes at all and if and if this is up for a vote every single year To appropriate funds that the funds are not just there. Yeah That's being Decided upon every single year and I'm I'm loath to let the pressure off and just and and what you do is is now as soon as you start funding the Tritional families If you don't continue to fund it now you're not just against Somali daycares and and welfare queens now you're against Working traditional families. Yeah, mom stay at home mothers Exactly and now like so so now you've created this perverse incentive Yep, the politician side to find it and to grow it and that's what I was gonna say. Yeah, everybody who says we're not growing this at all Yeah Wait until you get mama on this beach front property and Wyoming No as soon as you make this for a traditional family now you got Everybody demanding you increase it the Democrats want to increase the smallies. Yeah, wait Republicans want to increase it for the traditional families. Yeah, but even then wait for the Democrats to get a hold of the Traditional family budget. Yeah, yeah, it's like talk about the growth of socialism is just gonna get on crack Yeah, yeah, in the next administration. I mean, how do you get to universal basic income? Yeah, yeah with the Republicans helping yeah I mean setting setting the foundation for that whole idea of universal basic income. Yeah, so far has been just a democratic talking point Yeah, like full-blown socialism. That's right. Is this where like here the Republicans come along say here Let's help you. I mean another way of looking at this is also just like this is social security for stay-home moms No, it's yeah, it's welfare. Yeah, it's totally well. Now here's the thing that and they can't do a thing about social security Yeah, so security's a problem. Yeah, right here's another thing to think about You know what you're also potentially funding Is a gay dad. Yeah, staying home so we can molest his kids. Yeah, that's right Right, everybody wants to talk about the mom, but you know, we have to find marriage as whatever anybody wants Oh, burger fell dead. Yeah, yeah And so what you're also funding is the possibility of all of that. Yeah, that's right So you you know, that's a downside I I want to want that happening. Yeah So you've got that as a possibility as well. I think there's other things though that nobody's talking about I Immediately thought of this quotation from Walter Williams. Yeah Um, we got which we just released our interview that we did with Walt a long time ago when we're at his house Yeah, since we didn't drop a show last week. We released that show really on podcast really Oh, I don't know that. Yeah, that's um That's very timely. I know very providential. Yeah, so go go check it out. It should be in the hours like two hours So we in 2020. Yeah, we got to go to Walt Williams house. Yeah, Pennsylvania And we set down in his living room for yeah for our hour and a half or something before he passed away six seven months before he passed away I think or maybe longer than And it was what still one of my favorite all-time interviews that we did Oh, such a cool conversation. Yeah, and we just talked Is inviting and warm is just fantastic So that interviews out. It's in the app. It should be on the podcast But you get an hour and a half conversation with us and Walt Williams is really good. Yeah, he said this in several different places The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery could not have done What Jim Crow could not do what the harshest racism could not do man And that is destroy the black family. Yeah, and now you add that and this is gonna do to the white family what abortion could not do Wow, this is gonna do to the white family what Democrats could not do it's it's remarkable and He's tracing the history of the black family and saying you know, all the way through slavery up through Reconstruction up through Jim Crow up through racism and the civil right you know all the way up into the 20th century um The black family was largely intact right so there was um the majority of black families some difficult circumstances. Yeah, I mean a crazy difficult circumstances have Father mother husband and wife and kids a nuclear family a recognizable nuclear family that was the norm in black culture. Yeah And then in the name of helping yeah black folks. Yeah in the name of helping them welfare comes on and and check start getting distributed. Yeah, and and in them in a matter of decades um the intact families plummets out of a wedlock pregnancies skyrockets. Yeah, the he's he's not just making this up He's saying look they start getting checks from Uncle Sam. Yeah, and what does it do it destroys the family now um Incidentally, I so I wrote an article about this. It's on the cross-politics substack. Yeah, if you're not if you're on substack Check it out if you're not check it out um cross-politicsubstack.com um and and the title of the article is how to destroy the American family and I'm and I'm riffing off of Walter Williams. I'm not I'm not I'm not trying to just use hyperbole for the sake of you using hyperbole I'm saying Walter Williams says that welfare destroyed the black family. Yeah, and so if we now go to universal welfare Yeah, um we're talking about the destruction of the American family um and um but but there's multiple reasons for this and again, I'm happy to grant that perhaps um the the most insidious reason is because welfare checks um incentivized Single mother yes, yeah, and so I'm I'm granting that I'm granting that that's like the most advanced is trying to make a distinction here So the most insidious version of it was that and I would say that probably sped up the process like the cancer um, you know got um really gassed like it I mean it went it went to stage five, you know so fast right um There's stage five right? I think I think I can't say yes. Okay, you know but age five hurricane cancer. It's all states five. I don't know if I trust you Anyways, you know it goes zero to 60, you know and in three seconds because of that so it's juiced It's particularly juiced because of that really perverse incentive for um women to not marry um the fathers of their children yeah grant that But that's not the only form of the cancer right One of the other major forms of the cancer is what it was doing To the freedom of the family and and and the responsibility of the family and the thing I want to speak to is in particular Is um the the masculinity of men Because um it it was the government stepping in saying we'll take care of your kids Rather than the man saying man I got to work harder. I got to work longer I got a I got to carry more I got to do more to provide for my family. That's right when when I'm Men are made for that and when men have to sacrifice in that way It it makes them better men it makes marriages stronger it makes families more free and that was stolen From welfare recipients And not only were there these massively perverse incentives To not have marriage intact But there were other perverse incentives to not work as much yeah because hey You know maybe if I mean I I can work at least 35 hours But then but that's it because if I work more than that then I'm no longer qualified for this That's free money. That's easy money Um proverbs talks about this Proverbs says in Proverbs 13 wealth gotten by vanity Shall be diminished, but he that gathereth by labor shall increase. Yep There's a way to give people money that they didn't work for That leaves them more poor at the end. That's right And and I don't think people are talking about this. So and and this is not to um Take away from or uh or minimize the particular economic challenges that young families face in our day young men face Especially when the cards are six Stabbed against you significant problems. Yeah, it's totally real But don't take this from them. Yeah, don't take this from young men who say you know what I'm gonna go I'm gonna bust my butt. I'm gonna make it work harder. I'm gonna work harder. I'm work work longer And then at the end of the day. Yeah, you're exhausted, but you know what You're a free man. You're a free man and everything on that table you worked for you you sweat for you you you died for Um, and that that Creates a glue. Yeah between you and your wife and your kids Um, and I kind of freedom and I think that's something that um this um is Stealing right from men and from families Um that I think people need to Humanization of providing for your whole family. Yes. Well, and then I mean you think about like the whole welfare system as a dependency system and everyone recognizes this And why would all of a sudden the dependency stop if we start giving money to single to Mothers under JD Vance's thing why would why would dependency not be there and not be present there? So think of it this way If the government is giving you your your stay at home wife Money to stay at home and what is it nine thousand dollars? You're what they're talking about right now something like that Maybe per kid and then the government tells you you need to wear a mask Yeah, or we're gonna take the nine thousand hours away. What are you gonna do right I guarantee 99% of you are gonna wear the mask. No, it makes it creates Functional slaves. Yeah and We're turned to what we talked about earlier. We're all a little bit slaves. Yeah, you know, I mean we we're paying property taxes Yeah to rent our land from Massa. Yeah, you know that I paid paid for it completely Yeah, and own free and clear. Yeah But I but that you know, so we we're all slaves a little bit. Yeah, the issue is is I don't think we should be rejoicing when you know master Us, you know, three more feet on the chain. Yeah, that's right. That's right. That's not more that's a freedom. Yeah You know, that's we're we're just rearranging the furniture. So so let me ask this question because this is um For those who didn't like my socialism tweet Here's the dilemma that They're trying to sort through And I have a lot of agreement there In some sense The dilemma is All right, we got socialism everywhere money's going to Somalia daycares and JD Vance even Harkin this is like we've yeah, we've been you know taken advantage of for decades are We've been our bank accounts have been stolen, you know our tax money's been used for all these bad purposes That's been against you against kind of the average hardworking American right um And Let's let's just pretend it we don't have to use the child care thing or whatever, but let's just pretend the money's baked into the cake It would take almost like a act of constitutional, you know Vote or whatever to get it to change How do we work in our current system? And you know being innocent as a dub being wise as a serpent, you know if I'm president There's all these socialistic programs. How am I thinking about You know, maybe retooling the money for for Well first I think about retooling the money in a good way, but also Doing it in a way that You're gonna get rid of the money eventually get rid of the program's in a because that's a hard thing Because if you start retooling the money to stay at home mothers then then the slave mentality is gonna keep It's dependent on it again to pin on it. So, but I guess you know if you're president for a day How are you working with all these social programs that you can't get Congress to shut down and but you have the money And so I'm gonna take it away from the daycares and do this, you know Is that my question some question. I know and I don't entirely know But the thing that I would say is what I would want to do is so so um what was Trump's deal? Do you remember his policy with um the administrative law the bureaucracy where he was like For every one law we implement we're gonna delete like 100 laws or something like that It was something like three. That was his first administration And then it was like six or something like that I can't remember how many it was but it was like there was a policy in place Where it's like if we add one new law we're deleting seven or ten or something like that Um, I really think like think like that So so if so if I could I could get um, you know some people in my comments today We're saying, you know, why isn't this smash mouth incrementalism and I would say well my answer to that would be Okay, what are we deleting? Yeah, so so I actually would have less a problem with this proposal If something was attached to it. Yeah, it was deleting something else. Yeah, so okay Let's let's say, you know And I think again just in terms of like fairness like why can't mom stay home and do a better job in daycare Than paying for daycare like okay like yeah, that makes perfect sense But like if we're gonna do that then how about we also say um and above that income level everybody gets $9,000 tax break Yeah So so like that would be for me would be like okay I can actually see the incrementalism there because then everybody above that income level I get $9,000 off of my taxes. Yeah, right not a credit but a break an actual break It's you know, I don't owe that much money So a whole bunch of American families get to keep more of their own harder money At least for me. Yeah, that would be I could see that I would call that actual incrementalism Because you're not just rearranging the socialism You're also cutting taxes and the in the tax burden and you're actually setting free The market to do its thing um also Um, so something like that, but I would just say think creative like that the other thing that I didn't mention before is um And it's important to just keep pointing out in the bible the first line of defense For a family that has come on hard times is extended family Okay, first and middie five says that a man who does not provide for his own is worse than an unbeliever Paul says even pagans know that a man needs to provide for his own family, right guy That's you know, I'd say it's almost like a natural law I was gonna say I was gonna say like it's apparently universal In all the nations of the earth they know because it's written in their hearts Then a man was made to provide for his own household not the state Not seaves there not the government and in first and middie five though The whole context is talking about when can the church support a widow In other words at what point do the deacon step in yeah the church community Well, that's the second line of defense. That's the backstop. Yeah, if there's no family He and he actually says that he says that the widow has family let the family take care of her right And a man it doesn't take care of his own families worse than an unbeliever and he says but if he's she's a true widow And she has no family Well, then that's when um, you could you could step in and I would say reasoning from analogy If a you know a young couple falls on hard times and can't pay their bills and and they don't have any extended family that can help them either Right the deacon should look into that and should help yeah, um, but when the state steps in Excuse me When the state steps in It is stealing that Opportunity from extended family right to be that family to knit them together strongly It's also stealing from the church community like we want to be the church And if vance wanted to want to to to present something propose something that I would say it would at least Um, take a tiny step in that direction A tax cut alongside of you know, reallocating some of those funds right would actually then free up funds For extended family and churches. I mean that would provide more and and they would be able to be the Family they're supposed to be be the church is supposed to be wherever Government funding you surps and displaces what God is called the family and the church to do that is destroying The potency of families and churches it it just simply does and And I know people say well in the short term, you know, it's it's you know, it's better to do this Okay for five minutes But but even then like call it what it is like that the part of the yeah, but the whole it's friendly socialism Yeah, family friendly socialism the whole argument against me on Twitter was either like you're a loser because you don't know how to win Yeah, so that was one of the responses Uh, the other response is not an argument. Yeah, it's not arguing. Yeah Um, but that's that's a whole different show for other times um, uh, the other response was um The funds are already there so we might as well spend it uh kind of response and then the third response which they're not It was which they aren't which you you um cleared up uh and then the third response was um uh They they wouldn't I couldn't get them to call it socialism in fact one guy responded to is like just just say it Just call it socialism. Yeah, like I'll give you all give you everything that you just said yeah This is better. This is better Reallocating it the funds are there. We can't do anything about it. I'll give you all that Social I think just say it socialism and he wouldn't do it. Yeah, and so that if that's we have like the truth sets you free Right and the truth even in um I mean messed up situations The truth is always the right way to art to to be articulating the the mess that we're in right right and if and if you're Which again, which is again the point isn't to like um cast stones and like blame everybody else It's like we're all in this together like we are all in the socialistic soup. Yeah, like we are all in it Yeah, the point is simply to say let's not be let's just let's not be at peace with it Like let's call what it is name it for what it is and and then and do everything we can to try to undermine it and but recognizing that yeah everybody's got some of it. It's like we're all in it A couple easy examples is like your college go your your son goes to a government college Like that's just socialist college full of taxpayer dollars. Yeah, you go to Seattle sea hawks football game Yeah, who pays for that stadium? Yeah, not the Seattle sea hawks right the taxpayer dollars paid to build that stadium Right all these professional stadiums professional baseball professional basketball all these taxpayers So we're constantly touching up against it. I just I just want to walk in the football stadium man And say man this is shame. This isn't privately owned. Yeah Yeah, I love going to Seattle sea hawks game. It's great. You know whatever right But it's like just acknowledge the reality of what's going on This isn't the government's job and they shouldn't stolen this much money. Yeah, like this. This is I mean again I don't think we can say it enough In first Samuel the profit says That um a king will be so tyrannical That he would take up to 10% yeah, that's incredible Like first Samuel eight that's that's no Biblically defined tyrannical taxation is 10% or more yeah, and we live in a in a nation where you know like man if we get down to 15% We would think we were living in paradise. Yeah, um, you know, I think I think in the early late 70s early 80s It was like up into the 40% Was was the highest tax bracket they had a tax bracket up to 90 but no one paid it okay, but but like for anyways like You know Reagan chasing it back into the 30s. Yeah, like most most of the bra you know the highest brackets. Yeah but like The principle is is god is king And he asks for 10% that's the tithe Which means anybody on earth who asks you for that much is Committing blasphemy because they think there is important as god And then they're stealing from you because They're taking more than even then even god requires I think i just think it through this scenario i gave you if you're president for a day and you had all the socialistic money and on your Yeah, you have to do something with it um I think i need to think to this more, but there's there's got to be that to me the goal would be How do i use this money to destroy this program? You know um so You know um How do i take this child care Money that was given to simoleons to maybe kind of in duck Tanking the program itself i try you know try to figure out like you know um give the money Um, you know I don't know i got to think through that um because i think that that'd be the way to do it is like you You reallocate the money in such a way where everyone wants to vote to turn it off You know what i'm saying? That's the principle is like there's got to be a way to do that To where like republicans and democrats are like we got to take this away from the president And and this program is now an awful program and all of a sudden you you the problem is that's super hard like nobody wants to ever turn off the spick Yeah, but if you if you just all right when you figure that money against itself I know i know we can go that out and email us Okay email me if you got some good ideas waterboycrosspolitik.com I want to because i think that's maybe the if you're governor of Idaho How do you do that if you're if you're president for a day? How do you use the money to turn it against the program in such a way where they actually Congress wants to vote it down and vote it out Yeah, I don't know it's uh it's some ways i think it's i think it's like the ring of power No like you know i was like it's a rare rare person that actually wants to destroy it Nobody actually wants to destroy it Yeah, and i think if you if you you don't You know it it turns on you like everybody's like no i'm gonna take care of it i'm gonna use it i'm gonna use it for good. I mean use it for good And and even you know even Frodo at the end. I mean he has to be betrayed. You know by it It's only it only destroys itself in a certain way I don't know i mean i'm i'd love to be wrong I love for you to come up with the right you know the plan But i don't i don't know how i'd do that. Yeah, um why just this you were thinking that's like there's gotta be Last thing i want to say on this i don't know if you have anything else gay, but it was just um I had i had one brief interaction with our friend Megan Basham And um and and she was one saying you know I don't think this should exist, but um if it does you know I don't see why we shouldn't just you know This seems like a decent idea. Give give it to um traditional families. Yeah um and and i and i just Mentioned to her the Walter Williams quote and just said you know i get it. I understand it. I'm sympathetic Yeah to the point um, but history shows Uh that welfare destroys the peep it's recipients. Yeah, and i and i gave her the Walter Williams quote about the black um But um but the thing that i i mentioned in my article um and then i really mean this and in a in a in a In a the friendliest way is um if you've not read shepherds for sale You need to read it. Yeah, which is meg bashams um i think it's her most recent book, but it's it's about how pastors were on welfare. Yeah, it's it's about how money from progressive um organizations corrupted Christians. Yeah, and it's just chapter after chapter with receipts Where she says look follow the money. Yeah, and look what they did follow the money look what they did They went let they went progressive on climate change. They went progressive on um Abortion, abortion, they went progressive on woke stuff. They went progressive on LGBT and abortion Yeah, you know like thing after thing and i just want to say With all the respect in the world. It's like um that's actually the point. Yeah, it's like The money never is never without strings. That's not it's not neutral participation It's always got hooks in it. Yeah, and i know like i i'm i assume jd vance means it completely innocently Like i don't think he's being i don't think he's trying to do something In cittius i think he thinks i want to support um christian families I think i'm i'm sure that's what he means. Yeah, the thing is is that um This is stolen money um, this is socialistic money. This is welfare and with all the good intentions in the world What you're doing is you're hooking that program up you're hooking up Christian families traditional families to that and it will wreck them in the same way that Dollars wrecked Christianity today and wrecked um Christian leaders in america Why did they go woke? Why did they go soft on abortion? Why did they go? I'm soft on lgbt stuff um the money turns people's hearts And that's the point is it wrecks people they're not free and back to your point again think about covid um you get you get those dollars flowing And now you know the next covert thing Comes along and you're gonna obey you're gonna buy the shutdown order comes and so on and i know There'll be some exceptions and praise god for it. That's right um but the even more people will say Um, I can't risk it. I need that money. You know, I'm you know, I built my budget around it We got i can't send my wife to work Um, and i'm gonna keep my head down and i'm going to just submit like a good slave And i again, we've all got some chains But i i think we ought to be speaking very plainly and honestly these are chains and and i think uh this is not um the solution that a whole bunch of people are Are championing it to be and and again maybe in the short term. Okay, um better than what we've been doing some some better than some all the daycare um But this is not solution. This is not freedom and and we really need to fight for that and and figure out a way to To connect actual incremental process. That's right actual tax cuts actual deregulation uh Alongside these things so that we can actually be free and to your point that's something trump can do if the administration can propose regulations to cut on every new regulation. Yeah, well, that's it's not even a congress thing right That's just you just you're just responsible for all the biocracies right so right figure that out give us a good proposal Hey, we're four weeks away three and a half weeks.
