- 0:00Speaker 1: H hey, ho hey, and welcome to another episode of
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Through podcast.

- 0:20Speaker 3: You are a diva that's looking to amplify your voice
- 0:24Speaker 3: and you're looking for a whole we have faith for you.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Come on over and join Gim Diva's up, yeahwey and
- 0:33Speaker 3: amplify your voice?
- 0:53Speaker 2: All things? And where has all the bluecs fumtable for
- 1:05Speaker 2: something long person? All things? And what the who do know?
- 1:20Speaker 4: My name is Karen Thompson. I'm the staff attorney at
- 1:22Speaker 4: the Edison's Project and I've worked here for three and
- 1:25Speaker 4: a half years. Black History Month matters to me, and
- 1:30Speaker 4: it matters to the work at the Innison's Project because
- 1:33Speaker 4: black history has made up a significant and painful part
- 1:39Speaker 4: of our criminal justice system, and given the history of
- 1:44Speaker 4: lynchings and unfair treatment of black people over the last
- 1:50Speaker 4: three centuries, we have a special need and a special
- 1:55Speaker 4: connection to injustice when it comes to race in the
- 1:58Speaker 4: United States. I particularly kind of moved and pained, even now,
- 2:07Speaker 4: one hundred years after the fact, by the case of
- 2:09Speaker 4: a man named Claude Neil, who was the last what
- 2:13Speaker 4: they called the spectacle lynching in Florida, and when people
- 2:18Speaker 4: talk about respective lynchings. It is the killing of a
- 2:22Speaker 4: black person who is usually wrongfully accused or not even
- 2:26Speaker 4: given the chance.
- 2:28Speaker 2: To have due process of law by a mob of
- 2:31Speaker 2: white people.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And in that killing, there was a unbelievable, almost unspeakable
- 2:39Speaker 4: brutality that was done to this person. And so Claude
- 2:44Speaker 4: Neil was accused of raping and murdering a white teenager
- 2:48Speaker 4: in Florida in nineteen thirty four. At level of brutality
- 2:53Speaker 4: and our silence around it is a country, and our
- 2:58Speaker 4: silence around the trauma that it cost communities.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Of color.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Inspire me to do this work every day. And although
- 3:06Speaker 4: we aren't lunching people in the color courtrooms, and although
- 3:11Speaker 4: we're not dragging people from their homes and doing the
- 3:15Speaker 4: things that I just described, there are ways that we
- 3:18Speaker 4: are allowing our system to fail people based on race.
- 3:23Speaker 4: And so part of my work here is to try
- 3:25Speaker 4: to address and remedy those wrongdoings.
- 3:36Speaker 6: Let's talk about it with your hope. Shent Johnson. Join
- 3:40Speaker 6: me every first and third Monday of the month at
- 3:44Speaker 6: eight pm Eastern standards, and let's talk about you re
- 4:28Speaker 6: easing and thank you for joining me for another episode
- 4:31Speaker 6: of Talk about it all right, a shot when I've
- 4:38Speaker 6: seen the little commercial we just played on Angela just
- 4:43Speaker 6: played for me about the or what we just watched,
- 4:50Speaker 6: or my mind I get mynd freeze for my mind
- 4:53Speaker 6: freeze sometime.
- 4:55Speaker 2: But by the Innocent Project down back a. As you
- 5:00Speaker 2: know that statistics.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Shows that the black man is the number one are
- 5:09Speaker 6: the number one men to be wrongfully unlawful convicted. They
- 5:16Speaker 6: also are the ones that serve the longest time out
- 5:22Speaker 6: of any ethnic groups. On today's show, we're going to
- 5:27Speaker 6: be talking about different topics. Fix We're going to talk
- 5:32Speaker 6: about Adynist Washington. He's currently in Texas on This is
- 5:42Speaker 6: my co host calling me. He's currently in Texas and
- 5:45Speaker 6: I received a letter from him on Friday stating about
- 5:48Speaker 6: the conditions of what he's dealing with right now. We're
- 5:54Speaker 6: going to get into that once I bring my co
- 5:57Speaker 6: hosts up.
- 6:00Speaker 2: And we are. He's going to be joining in a minute.
- 6:06Speaker 6: We have Angela it's going to be joining it wells
- 6:10Speaker 6: as well. We're going to talk about what's going on
- 6:13Speaker 6: ventanol as we know it been around, but it's in
- 6:20Speaker 6: the it's in the prison systems now and it's starting
- 6:24Speaker 6: to the men's in there are starting to get come
- 6:30Speaker 6: in contact with it. And in Texas you had a
- 6:33Speaker 6: couple of them that past this week in the prison.
- 6:36Speaker 2: So we're going to talk about that.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Also in California, I stayed yesterday about a federal correctional officer.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I don't know. I forgot that he was in Terminal
- 6:49Speaker 2: Island or downtown.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Someone mailed it in meiling it into an mate, and
- 6:58Speaker 6: in the paper it stated that they was mail than
- 7:00Speaker 6: there as legal mail. Well it didn't. They didn't mail
- 7:05Speaker 6: it in as legal male. So it went to the
- 7:09Speaker 6: mail room and once the person opened the mail and
- 7:14Speaker 6: came in contact with it, he got sick. He went
- 7:18Speaker 6: to the hospital and later on he passed away. It's
- 7:25Speaker 6: so much going on in these prisons that they're not
- 7:28Speaker 6: making not the family is not aware of or you know,
- 7:38Speaker 6: they not shedding. They keeping it hush hush. So we
- 7:42Speaker 6: want to kind of bring a little light into what's
- 7:46Speaker 6: going on and text. We want to talk about Juan
- 7:52Speaker 6: Johnson case. We want to talk about mister Legate's case.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Whatever time can commit, we're gonna talk about it because
- 8:01Speaker 6: that's what we do.
- 8:03Speaker 2: We're going to talk about it.
- 8:04Speaker 6: If you guys have any questions or you want to
- 8:08Speaker 6: try in, please text it and if Angela's see it,
- 8:15Speaker 6: we'll touch on it.
- 8:17Speaker 7: Now.
- 8:18Speaker 6: My co host, you guys know him, Cornelle is here. Cornell,
- 8:24Speaker 6: how are you doing this evening?
- 8:27Speaker 5: Hello, ma'am, how you doing tonight? I'm doing quick to
- 8:31Speaker 5: thank you very much for happening.
- 8:33Speaker 6: You're welcome and Angela, Angela being out here in California
- 8:39Speaker 6: and tomorrow, she she even me, even me, it was
- 8:45Speaker 6: a joy to have her here over here and just to.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Watch her work. She worked NonStop. A lot of people
- 8:54Speaker 2: don't know she. I actually seen her stay up to
- 9:01Speaker 2: do her.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Homework because she's going to school to get the magazine ready,
- 9:09Speaker 6: to get the book ready to be release. The book
- 9:13Speaker 6: released on time or even before time. So she's a
- 9:18Speaker 6: very hard working woman. I've seen it with my own eyes.
- 9:25Speaker 6: This morning, she was just off cop coffee. I had
- 9:28Speaker 6: to tell her to go to sleep because she was
- 9:30Speaker 6: still going. But Angela, I am going to miss you
- 9:37Speaker 6: and thank you for allowing me to see to actually
- 9:42Speaker 6: see you at work and the hope and the behind
- 9:46Speaker 6: the scenes of doing a podcast. So with that being said,
- 9:50Speaker 6: I'm gonna let Angela introduce herself and then we're gonna
- 9:54Speaker 6: get into our topic for tonight.
- 10:00Speaker 8: Hey everyone, So for those that do not know who
- 10:03Speaker 8: I am, I'm affectionally known as the Queen of Collaboration.
- 10:07Speaker 8: I have my hands in a lot. I am the
- 10:09Speaker 8: visionary of Here, the Crew Podcast. I am the visionary
- 10:15Speaker 8: of Aspiring Authors, Magazine, every platform that I am a
- 10:18Speaker 8: part of. I just truly desire to be the change
- 10:22Speaker 8: that I want to see in this world. So I
- 10:24Speaker 8: utilize my voice, my skills, my talents, my gifts, everything
- 10:29Speaker 8: that God gives me to pour into people to hopefully educate,
- 10:34Speaker 8: empower and encourage them to stay on this journey we
- 10:37Speaker 8: call life because we all got purpose. So that that's
- 10:41Speaker 8: just the gist of me. I'm just out here just
- 10:43Speaker 8: trying to be the change that I want to see
- 10:45Speaker 8: in this world.
- 10:46Speaker 2: That's all.
- 10:48Speaker 6: And you guys, I'm telling you, Charleston, when she come
- 10:52Speaker 6: over there, you're going to see her at work, Patrese,
- 10:58Speaker 6: make her go to sleep. Make sure you get some
- 11:00Speaker 6: rest when she get over there, because in California she
- 11:03Speaker 6: was up all and working and it's time for her
- 11:08Speaker 6: to get a little race. So let's get into our topic.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Adonis Uh co host, can you give them. A little
- 11:20Speaker 6: background of Adonis Washington, since you are familiar with him.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Well, yes, ma'am, yes man, mister Donalds was Washington. He
- 11:31Speaker 5: was charged with attesting murder and Santa Thomas, Texas. Okay,
- 11:37Speaker 5: the logistics and mister Donason's cases. The fact that one
- 11:39Speaker 5: day him and from Sandra was sitting in my house
- 11:42Speaker 5: and he was sitting on the couch playing with the
- 11:44Speaker 5: weapon and the victor was sitting on the floor walking television.
- 11:49Speaker 5: So while they're sitting there playing uh television, he was
- 11:52Speaker 5: playing with this footman the welkom accidentally did charged and
- 11:56Speaker 5: his proceeding and when the hits the scene, the foot
- 12:00Speaker 5: recrecheated down and hit the victim in the top of
- 12:02Speaker 5: the head. The uh uh, the stealing sheep block came
- 12:08Speaker 5: down off the seating and got into the hair and
- 12:11Speaker 5: the hair of okay, so what ha happened? Unfortunately for
- 12:14Speaker 5: mister dalas man, they tried to cover it up and
- 12:18Speaker 5: when the police came and investigate, they made a different
- 12:21Speaker 5: servie had to the fact that what really happened during
- 12:24Speaker 5: that the gate But when the distra turns off got
- 12:28Speaker 5: the case, mister attorney's office found out that uh they
- 12:32Speaker 5: had gave false testimonies cost statements. So when indeed it
- 12:36Speaker 5: turned around and turned the case untelling attention of murder
- 12:39Speaker 5: byus a method examin to say that the bullet wounds
- 12:44Speaker 5: the victim's hand with the direct contact woll. So this
- 12:47Speaker 5: will happened with the Adonisis while he was down here
- 12:50Speaker 5: at GDC he started to investigating in this case. So
- 12:54Speaker 5: what he then was confected a merk examine about the
- 12:57Speaker 5: name of mister Hackey Jason new and looking to the
- 12:59Speaker 5: back of the case. And when he did, he come
- 13:02Speaker 5: to learn that the briller had rectated off the seat,
- 13:05Speaker 5: and when the set bart came down and get the
- 13:08Speaker 5: victim in the egg. So when we made a bequest
- 13:10Speaker 5: for them to produce the foods, they only produced all
- 13:15Speaker 5: birds had pass of them. They did not produce the
- 13:18Speaker 5: bullet that had the defect. And then on the recochet.
- 13:22Speaker 5: So mister BW had turned around the quare. Well now
- 13:26Speaker 5: he pulled it out that the briller was a precchet,
- 13:29Speaker 5: that it was a pact to them. On that well,
- 13:31Speaker 5: I got back to hill when mister Donalds followed his case,
- 13:34Speaker 5: who followed his deficiencies of evidence that he did not
- 13:38Speaker 5: cause the death of the victim. I caused him the
- 13:40Speaker 5: contact room, one of the diffices of the greed with
- 13:44Speaker 5: him and said that mister Donald's was actually innocent and
- 13:48Speaker 5: that and I said, if cake did not food contact
- 13:51Speaker 5: God went woman. Well, unfortunately for mister donas his caste
- 13:55Speaker 5: for the firm by the Floor of Appeals, his page
- 13:58Speaker 5: was actually a firm for December the twenty four, which
- 14:03Speaker 5: is an impossible date because we all know all purtousers
- 14:08Speaker 5: and most major government official operations close because of twenty four.
- 14:14Speaker 5: So now here it is. He's been trying to get
- 14:16Speaker 5: some type of people to get involved in this case, man,
- 14:20Speaker 5: and unfortunately that journey because now he's in a very
- 14:23Speaker 5: serious situation right now and we haven't been able to
- 14:26Speaker 5: do thatticitation.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Man. Yeah, so that's said that. That's just sad because.
- 14:36Speaker 8: Individuals, Man, I'm just listening, and people make mistakes, and
- 14:48Speaker 8: instead of them correcting their mistake and owning up to
- 14:52Speaker 8: their mistakes, they will rather cover it up and don't
- 14:55Speaker 8: care about the hardship that they're putting on people. Because
- 14:58Speaker 8: if they would just rectify their error, rectify what they've
- 15:02Speaker 8: done wrong, they could give this man some relief and
- 15:04Speaker 8: he can come home and it could help with the
- 15:07Speaker 8: betterment of his life. Because right now, from my understanding,
- 15:12Speaker 8: a dunist didn't have any.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Type of medical issues.
- 15:15Speaker 8: I think he may have wre prescription glasses upon entering
- 15:18Speaker 8: the prison. But now this man is suffering from all
- 15:22Speaker 8: types of medical issues issues. We've been receiven letters that
- 15:28Speaker 8: is very concerning. I've written a couple of people about what.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Was written to me. You have a man that says that.
- 15:38Speaker 8: He's legally blind and he has to have other inmates
- 15:43Speaker 8: help him. How did this man become legally blind? He
- 15:46Speaker 8: tells me that he's been having blood pressures issues and
- 15:52Speaker 8: that he's suffered three strokes and have not received the
- 15:58Speaker 8: proper medical attention. So how do a inmate end up
- 16:04Speaker 8: in a medical facility along by themselves on a stretcher?
- 16:09Speaker 8: Is that a normal practice that we do within the
- 16:13Speaker 8: prison system. Do we just wield inmates and just leave
- 16:17Speaker 8: them on a stretcher?
- 16:23Speaker 2: If they're none responsible, we just leave them just no none.
- 16:27Speaker 8: Care and just pushing them. This man said he thought
- 16:31Speaker 8: he was dead. He said that did he said itself?
- 16:37Speaker 8: Let me check my bibles, because a dead man don't
- 16:40Speaker 8: have vitals, So he managed to get to a blood
- 16:47Speaker 8: pressure machine and check his blood pressure. He said his
- 16:49Speaker 8: blood pressure was two hundred and thirty three over one
- 16:52Speaker 8: hundred and eighty seven.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Stroke level.
- 16:54Speaker 8: Remind you, he said, he has been had had suffered
- 16:57Speaker 8: three strokes. Yet they leave this man unattended. So my
- 17:02Speaker 8: question is, did y'all think that this this man was
- 17:05Speaker 8: dead and y'all just pushed him off to the side
- 17:09Speaker 8: so that he could die.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Is that what y'all are doing inside?
- 17:13Speaker 6: Well, you know, Jack, he said that he heard a
- 17:17Speaker 6: correction officer standing over ring saying that she hoped that
- 17:22Speaker 6: he died.
- 17:26Speaker 2: There was a witness side several several other inmates that
- 17:31Speaker 2: also wrote statements. You know, people are.
- 17:34Speaker 8: Tied of individuals and that have the power to that
- 17:41Speaker 8: that have taken these sworn oaths, because we have to
- 17:45Speaker 8: take a sworn oath. I've been a correction officer. Ain't
- 17:49Speaker 8: nothing nobody told me. We went through the training. You
- 17:52Speaker 8: go through the training, they go step by step that
- 17:56Speaker 8: you you go over the oath. They talk about the oath,
- 17:59Speaker 8: They tell you what you can do, what you can't do.
- 18:04Speaker 8: We even do scenarios. So there's no way if these
- 18:08Speaker 8: people are going to the proper academies and going through
- 18:11Speaker 8: the training, you know these things. But then we get
- 18:14Speaker 8: in situations and then we want to alter and we
- 18:17Speaker 8: want to do what we want to do right because
- 18:20Speaker 8: we got authority. Now we have power. So now instead
- 18:26Speaker 8: of utilizing the power that we have to to to
- 18:30Speaker 8: do something. See when I was a correction officer, I
- 18:33Speaker 8: became a correction officer because I wanted to help people.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I wanted to.
- 18:38Speaker 8: Help those that had made a mistake get back out
- 18:41Speaker 8: on the street and be able to be productive citizens
- 18:45Speaker 8: because I know it can be done. And if these
- 18:49Speaker 8: officers are true, uh believe in true rehababilitation and what
- 18:57Speaker 8: they can offer.
- 19:00Speaker 2: People, don't just do it for the money, because.
- 19:03Speaker 8: Really there's no money and there's no money in correctional office.
- 19:08Speaker 8: If you have a passion for helping people, if you
- 19:11Speaker 8: don't have a passion for seeing rehabilitation and and and
- 19:14Speaker 8: trying to be that outlet. See what correctional officers fail
- 19:18Speaker 8: to realize is that you are the you. You are
- 19:23Speaker 8: that that one person that could help alter these people's
- 19:28Speaker 8: mindsets that are behind pretty wall. Because get what, you're
- 19:31Speaker 8: with them every day, you're with.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Them just as much as you're at your own home.
- 19:37Speaker 8: So they're just much a part in your family as
- 19:41Speaker 8: your family is, because when.
- 19:43Speaker 2: You're not with your family, you're there.
- 19:45Speaker 8: So my thing is right, If that's what I have
- 19:49Speaker 8: to be, then I wanted to feel like a family,
- 19:53Speaker 8: a family, ye, So I want to be able to
- 19:57Speaker 8: nurture these people. I want to be able to care
- 20:00Speaker 8: for these people, have empathy for these people, have compassion
- 20:03Speaker 8: for these people. And that's what a lot of these
- 20:05Speaker 8: professionals don't have.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Y'all have something to say. He wants to jump in.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Okay, that's a good point to be made, mister Smith.
- 20:16Speaker 5: And the issue with prison life, ma'am, is the fact
- 20:20Speaker 5: that they constify us as minister to society that we
- 20:24Speaker 5: have classified as we wrote off as you know, people
- 20:27Speaker 5: who commit clime and society. So they really don't feel
- 20:30Speaker 5: that we deserve any type of respect that's under humanity.
- 20:34Speaker 5: So when we come over.
- 20:38Speaker 2: That's not anything that's not having judicial system because I
- 20:44Speaker 2: know judicial systems.
- 20:45Speaker 5: Right now.
- 20:46Speaker 8: We can talk to several people. We have a young
- 20:49Speaker 8: lady that's on our prayer call. They're connected with a
- 20:52Speaker 8: judge in Florida and Quincy, Florida, that lady do not
- 20:56Speaker 8: believe in a lot of the stuff that's going on
- 20:58Speaker 8: in Texas.
- 20:59Speaker 2: She do not do that.
- 21:00Speaker 8: In her court. She believed in giving these juveniles a
- 21:02Speaker 8: second chance. She believed in and giving them an opportunity
- 21:06Speaker 8: to rehabilitate themselves before she put them in prison.
- 21:11Speaker 2: She won't.
- 21:11Speaker 8: She believed in word programs. So you get to have
- 21:16Speaker 8: people that stuff. But when you don't have people.
- 21:21Speaker 6: See you, you don't have people that basically believe in it.
- 21:29Speaker 6: If you come going a courtroom, they just like, Okay,
- 21:34Speaker 6: that comes with stereotype, you know. They all they think
- 21:38Speaker 6: all black people are the same and we're not.
- 21:42Speaker 5: So that's how I.
- 21:43Speaker 6: Basically believe some of them judges, some of the d as,
- 21:48Speaker 6: that's how they're looking at these men. They thinking that.
- 21:52Speaker 2: They already got their mind made up. Yeah they didn't
- 21:54Speaker 2: because look where they grew up at look where they
- 21:57Speaker 2: came from. There's no learn home and mama doing this
- 22:00Speaker 2: and all of that other stuff.
- 22:01Speaker 6: When that's not true, Cornell uh.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Here in prison, ma'am. Okay, city officers and nurses and administration,
- 22:11Speaker 5: they feel that they are a law well because they
- 22:15Speaker 5: work for the state of text So the way they
- 22:17Speaker 5: treat inmates. They are taught to treat inmates like they
- 22:21Speaker 5: just a minute society. So therefore they holler at us.
- 22:26Speaker 5: They don't expect us. So now, because our prison systems
- 22:29Speaker 5: are not closed up with drugs. Man, every time something
- 22:32Speaker 5: happens to an endmate, automatically they think that the ndmates
- 22:37Speaker 5: drugs or that he's done the influence or something, or
- 22:40Speaker 5: he's you know, some type of influence of drugs. So
- 22:43Speaker 5: what that man said that for the medicine of situation
- 22:46Speaker 5: over here, Man, we cannot get from the medical attention
- 22:49Speaker 5: while because they already have programmed us to be drug addic.
- 22:53Speaker 5: And for us right now we have methan, we have
- 22:58Speaker 5: methotatic means, we have facts system that is right now.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Because y'all y'all not doing that and ordering it.
- 23:15Speaker 8: I can't order it on Uber because I know somebody
- 23:17Speaker 8: ordered some Uber and it got turned a red.
- 23:20Speaker 2: So I know they're not ordering on Uber. So how
- 23:23Speaker 2: is how is it there?
- 23:25Speaker 8: It has to be coming in through the administration, has
- 23:27Speaker 8: to be coming in through the correction office, has to
- 23:29Speaker 8: be coming in through the contractors, and if they're doing
- 23:34Speaker 8: proper check in, it can't be coming in through visits.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It could because I've been on both ends.
- 23:44Speaker 8: So ain't nothing nobody telling me that.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Whether it's a will, that's a way. I'm telling you.
- 23:50Speaker 8: There are judicial systems and there are correctional facilities that
- 23:54Speaker 8: are operating the way that they are supposed to be operating.
- 23:58Speaker 8: And if one can operate the way they're supposed to,
- 24:01Speaker 8: and they all can operate.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Okay, thank you, let's finding down that's true.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Man.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Let's just thinking. So as of right now now our
- 24:10Speaker 5: system is so probably bloody hand makes a diament right
- 24:13Speaker 5: now as we speak. They just came over here ten
- 24:16Speaker 5: going will another inmate out of here for satan? All
- 24:19Speaker 5: right now? So the point round is this that we
- 24:22Speaker 5: have a pricticious here in our prison system of plugs, ma'am.
- 24:27Speaker 5: And with this being said, the administration now they don't
- 24:31Speaker 5: do nothing to try to curb these problems. They don't
- 24:33Speaker 5: have no programs and fallows our drug after them and something.
- 24:38Speaker 5: I put a tracking program and they try to help
- 24:42Speaker 5: these kids get off of these clubs.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:44Speaker 5: Me myself, I'm in the first tective campaign and what
- 24:47Speaker 5: I did just this recently, I took the major, the
- 24:50Speaker 5: TDT Major Extra ward and with me. They told him
- 24:53Speaker 5: to watch me acts for inmates to show them what
- 24:57Speaker 5: weekn do the time to keep these kissing you us
- 25:00Speaker 5: instead of that god that I immediately ask teaching of them,
- 25:04Speaker 5: which one of y'all using drugs? They immediately they set up.
- 25:08Speaker 5: One guy said I smoke weed. I said, well, okay,
- 25:10Speaker 5: what did you do?
- 25:11Speaker 2: He said?
- 25:11Speaker 5: When I talked they what did you can.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Reach out to?
- 25:13Speaker 5: I said, well, look, leok me at us. Let's push
- 25:15Speaker 5: that to the sie. If you can take in your
- 25:18Speaker 5: life right now stop using their clubs would do that
- 25:21Speaker 5: and they said yes. I said, so what is the problem.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Why is you're using lugs? They said, because we do
- 25:27Speaker 5: not have any incentives to help her to stop using
- 25:30Speaker 5: blood and the major immunity say, come on, man, whenever
- 25:33Speaker 5: you need to go get it and come back back
- 25:35Speaker 5: and do whatever you need to do. But the chaplain
- 25:38Speaker 5: over here do not want to provide me the necessities
- 25:41Speaker 5: of the speakers and the microphones and the things that
- 25:45Speaker 5: I would need to go back there and to be
- 25:46Speaker 5: able to help these kids understand the importance of using
- 25:50Speaker 5: drugs and how it's killing them. So as of right now,
- 25:53Speaker 5: they have to shut the program all the way down.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Well, you know, that's the point I want to jump in,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and I don't mean to cut you off.
- 26:02Speaker 7: For them as a community, as a parent, it all
- 26:12Speaker 7: starts home at home.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It all starts in the house.
- 26:18Speaker 6: We shouldn't wait and to wait until our child or
- 26:23Speaker 6: a loved one get into the prison system too, that
- 26:30Speaker 6: that's doing drugs.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Or what may it be.
- 26:33Speaker 6: We should be the ones to get to them and
- 26:36Speaker 6: talk to them before because sometimes they go to they
- 26:40Speaker 6: getting these go to jail, or some of them is
- 26:43Speaker 6: not coming home as you see, they're getting getting this
- 26:46Speaker 6: fen and all despice, whatever it may be, they getting
- 26:50Speaker 6: hold to and they not coming home.
- 26:56Speaker 2: So I believe that I believe that it has to
- 27:01Speaker 2: start before they reached the prison system. It has to
- 27:05Speaker 2: start in the home. We have to be able to
- 27:08Speaker 2: sit down and talk to our children, you know. I
- 27:12Speaker 2: mean most parents sit down there and talk.
- 27:14Speaker 6: To their parents their kids like they homeboys and homegirls,
- 27:17Speaker 6: you know, like their best friends. Okay, but it's a
- 27:21Speaker 6: way to have a discussion with your child. Then stepping
- 27:26Speaker 6: over that line, I tried when I have my children,
- 27:31Speaker 6: when my children was coming up, and I.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Still talk to them and stuff, and.
- 27:37Speaker 6: But I tell them I'm your mother, I'm not your
- 27:40Speaker 6: little I'm not your little friend. You play with your
- 27:42Speaker 6: little friends, but you're not gonna play with me. And
- 27:44Speaker 6: I love you so much, I'm gonna give you the truth, okay.
- 27:49Speaker 6: And so as parents, we can't be scared to give
- 27:52Speaker 6: our kids the truth. We don't want to see them
- 27:56Speaker 6: going down that path.
- 27:58Speaker 2: You know, I.
- 28:05Speaker 6: Spending all these kids is dying in elementary of all.
- 28:13Speaker 7: Reason.
- 28:14Speaker 2: And if you all a loved one that's incarcerated, you
- 28:17Speaker 2: gotta understand too.
- 28:18Speaker 8: If you got a loved one that is constantly calling
- 28:21Speaker 8: you and asking you for money, begging you to put
- 28:24Speaker 8: money on their books, or sending cash, happing and and
- 28:27Speaker 8: sending money to someone else, you gotta understand that they
- 28:30Speaker 8: got a draw a problem because they're not gonna keep calling.
- 28:32Speaker 2: And asking for money because they don't need money like that.
- 28:35Speaker 8: They only get to go to the commissary every so often,
- 28:38Speaker 8: and then they only can have a certain amount of
- 28:40Speaker 8: money money on their commissary. So when when when you
- 28:44Speaker 8: having these individuals that's always calling you and asking you
- 28:48Speaker 8: for to put money on their book, then you gotta
- 28:50Speaker 8: understand that your loved one got an issue and you
- 28:52Speaker 8: might want to be questioning and and and and figuring
- 28:56Speaker 8: out what's going on with your loved one and then
- 28:59Speaker 8: setting some boundary, set in some rules, and.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Put some stuff in play. Because if you if you
- 29:04Speaker 2: spend it hour, I'm telling you, spend dollars a week,
- 29:10Speaker 2: that that's an issue, that that's an issue.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Go ahead, Well, cannot cannot depend on what mister missus
- 29:20Speaker 5: Snett said about community. Okay, in my opinion, and I
- 29:27Speaker 5: feel that you know, kids school turn up. A parent
- 29:30Speaker 5: can do a lot. A parent can do a lot
- 29:32Speaker 5: of shot to stop their kids from you the drugs,
- 29:34Speaker 5: but you can only do so much. We have our
- 29:38Speaker 5: community who are part of these kids' lives every day.
- 29:43Speaker 5: And my opinion is the fact that the fools to
- 29:46Speaker 5: make a manager of the policy program, a policy program,
- 29:50Speaker 5: a georgy.
- 29:51Speaker 2: APIs and the kids not that you tell We used to.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Have what recall, a spare straight program and a spare
- 29:59Speaker 5: state program to take kids and show them why they
- 30:02Speaker 5: should not commit crimes, why they should not use drugs.
- 30:06Speaker 5: They they don't to go programs. Okay, Now, because the
- 30:11Speaker 5: epidemic of drugs that're so heck in our society today,
- 30:14Speaker 5: we need to rethink our food system. We need to
- 30:18Speaker 5: rethink our community system. And we need to have those
- 30:21Speaker 5: people to get involved with these kids when they get
- 30:24Speaker 5: out of school. They need to have a program or
- 30:26Speaker 5: by them to encourage them. Why not they go use drugs?
- 30:30Speaker 5: Why not they go commit crimes? And we need to
- 30:33Speaker 5: be programs because and we need people like the ones
- 30:36Speaker 5: who are out there supposed to be the leaders and
- 30:39Speaker 5: the brothers and the systems of being skid. We need
- 30:42Speaker 5: him to be speaking to them about these types of
- 30:45Speaker 5: vishes to help them not use drugs because they're listening
- 30:50Speaker 5: to us before they hit to jail. Because when they
- 30:55Speaker 5: get to tap, the jail system is not gonna do
- 30:57Speaker 5: nothing to clasp about them as a society and they
- 31:01Speaker 5: would not get up that they need Why because this
- 31:04Speaker 5: is the most pre billion dollars Ampibo. So that's my
- 31:08Speaker 5: opinion on that.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Man.
- 31:09Speaker 5: We need the community with these school when your teachers
- 31:12Speaker 5: would need preachers. We need to community to get involved
- 31:16Speaker 5: with these kids and have these kids some programs after
- 31:19Speaker 5: school during school to teach them about the importance of
- 31:24Speaker 5: not even joys and stuff.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Man.
- 31:26Speaker 6: And you know what, as when I was growing up,
- 31:29Speaker 6: we did have like some they did have like summer
- 31:32Speaker 6: programs for for the youth.
- 31:36Speaker 2: To like summer jobs. You know, we always had something
- 31:41Speaker 2: to do, was playing sports.
- 31:43Speaker 6: We was in the sports and we was doing a
- 31:46Speaker 6: lot during the summer and at school. You know, we played,
- 31:50Speaker 6: We was in the sports at school. And now I
- 31:54Speaker 6: just I don't see that that much.
- 31:57Speaker 8: And you know, I don't morning cut programs out because
- 32:05Speaker 8: when we were coming up, we we did have those programs.
- 32:08Speaker 8: We had the jt PA program program that that that
- 32:11Speaker 8: provided youth jobs during the summertime. If you were if
- 32:15Speaker 8: you pass your test scores and you were working on
- 32:18Speaker 8: your on your grade level or whatever, you were able
- 32:22Speaker 8: to work a job. If you didn't, you were able
- 32:24Speaker 8: to go to school and they paid you to go
- 32:27Speaker 8: to school to take those classes during the summertime.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And and and they've got playdays. Because the government is
- 32:34Speaker 2: cutting out of the funding.
- 32:36Speaker 8: We used to have programs after school schools used to
- 32:39Speaker 8: have after school program because I was.
- 32:41Speaker 2: At all these after school programs.
- 32:44Speaker 8: I used to be an elementary tutor when I was
- 32:47Speaker 8: in high school. We used to go and tutor the
- 32:48Speaker 8: elementary school. They have cut funding. You you had schools
- 32:54Speaker 8: that were able to even apartment complexes were able to
- 32:58Speaker 8: provide after school programming. A lot of people have gotten
- 33:03Speaker 8: away from doing these programmings, but there's HUD. HUD sons
- 33:09Speaker 8: provide funding for these HUD subsidized complexes. If they if
- 33:16Speaker 8: you live in a HUG, a HUD subsidized complex, they
- 33:20Speaker 8: get money to provide activities not just for the children,
- 33:25Speaker 8: but provide activities for the parent as well. They're to
- 33:28Speaker 8: provide living skills, job skills, all these types of things
- 33:34Speaker 8: if you lived in they HUG subsidize. Don't just take
- 33:37Speaker 8: my word, go do the research. I did the research.
- 33:40Speaker 8: I had to learn our stuff because I was working
- 33:44Speaker 8: for a nonprofit organization and we was able to get
- 33:47Speaker 8: some of that HUD funded and go into one of
- 33:49Speaker 8: those HUD units up there in Greenville, South Carolina. And
- 33:54Speaker 8: that's what we started our very first after school program.
- 33:58Speaker 8: And nothing, Nobody told me some and then I did
- 34:00Speaker 8: for myself to this organization, so I know it's out there.
- 34:04Speaker 8: But because a lot of us don't know, and a
- 34:07Speaker 8: lot of us live in these sub subsidized complexes and
- 34:12Speaker 8: and don't even know that these resources are available. Why
- 34:15Speaker 8: because they don't tell you and and and they operate
- 34:19Speaker 8: on this. If you don't know, you won't know. So
- 34:22Speaker 8: if you're not being active in your community, you gotta
- 34:26Speaker 8: go to your your your county council meetings. You got
- 34:28Speaker 8: to go to these town how meetings. You got to
- 34:31Speaker 8: know what's going on in your city when these people
- 34:34Speaker 8: are coming in and bringing these new businesses.
- 34:36Speaker 2: You need to know what new businesses are coming in
- 34:38Speaker 2: and how they're gonna community. You need to know how
- 34:42Speaker 2: all that You've got to be.
- 34:44Speaker 4: We don't.
- 34:46Speaker 2: So we don't know.
- 34:49Speaker 6: Well, I'm gonna give corn he trying to jump in,
- 34:52Speaker 6: Go ahead, Cornell.
- 34:53Speaker 5: Okay, right now for our community, anybody who's will to
- 35:01Speaker 5: listen to what we're saying tonight. Tonight, it's very important
- 35:04Speaker 5: topic because of our communities. And with that being said,
- 35:08Speaker 5: now we should push any discussions about our community around
- 35:12Speaker 5: the United States. For the government to make sure that
- 35:15Speaker 5: they implement these types of programs. Good kids in schools,
- 35:19Speaker 5: to implement these types of programs for the kids to
- 35:22Speaker 5: learn about the press of blood, not the rigular crimes,
- 35:25Speaker 5: and be able to have these kids to understand why
- 35:28Speaker 5: it's important to learn about who they are and what
- 35:31Speaker 5: they have paper will have doing as opposed to getting
- 35:33Speaker 5: in crime, during crime and come to prison because they
- 35:37Speaker 5: don't have no lot of turn now. And if we
- 35:39Speaker 5: don't give them that opportunity around, they'll never learn that.
- 35:42Speaker 5: That's what my opinion is.
- 35:44Speaker 6: That that's so true. And you know what, another thing,
- 35:48Speaker 6: I'm gonna call back, Okay, I'll be oneting for you.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Another thing I don't get. I won't play the lottery,
- 35:58Speaker 2: but I do play it sometimes and I do ice practice. Sometimes.
- 36:02Speaker 2: They say the money is supposed to be going to
- 36:05Speaker 2: the schools. I don't see it. I don't see.
- 36:12Speaker 8: Well, it's not that it's going to It funds. Most
- 36:16Speaker 8: of what it funds is the pale Grant, the grants
- 36:21Speaker 8: that the kids get every year. I know in in
- 36:25Speaker 8: in South Carolina and Georgia, it funds the Palil grants,
- 36:29Speaker 8: so our kids are eligible.
- 36:31Speaker 2: For for the Palil grant.
- 36:33Speaker 6: Now.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I don't know how much more they give to the schools,
- 36:38Speaker 2: but you know they.
- 36:41Speaker 8: More of the money go you can you can say
- 36:43Speaker 8: more of the money goes to private sectors than to
- 36:46Speaker 8: the public schools, as which they should go. But yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 8: it's supposedly it's helping to fund the the the lottery
- 36:56Speaker 8: scholarships and the lottery grants that they have the because
- 37:00Speaker 8: they do have them as options.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I do know that. That is one of the.
- 37:08Speaker 6: Reason why I said I don't see it because when
- 37:11Speaker 6: I was in school, when we was in elementary and stuff,
- 37:15Speaker 6: not once did our teachers have to send home a
- 37:19Speaker 6: letter and say that your child needs this. You know,
- 37:24Speaker 6: all the teachers is coming out of their pockets putting things,
- 37:28Speaker 6: crayons and piscols and stuff in their classroom.
- 37:32Speaker 2: We got to school, all of that was there. It's
- 37:37Speaker 2: not there. It's not my grandsons. When they cut funding.
- 37:49Speaker 8: When they start cutting funding and start doing all that
- 37:52Speaker 8: and putting all these stipulations on stuff, then they started
- 37:55Speaker 8: taking out and they said they but they gonna put
- 37:57Speaker 8: the burden on the parents.
- 37:58Speaker 2: They're gonna put a lot of the burden on the
- 38:00Speaker 2: parents when prices start going up.
- 38:02Speaker 8: When prices start going up and they not increasing your salary,
- 38:06Speaker 8: then guess what they're gonna put the They gonna put
- 38:08Speaker 8: the butt back on the parents. So then it falls
- 38:11Speaker 8: on us because guess what price is increasing all around us?
- 38:15Speaker 8: Rent going up, everything in the stove is going up,
- 38:19Speaker 8: but they're not going up on our wages. And that's
- 38:22Speaker 8: what's happening, and and and and these people have figured
- 38:26Speaker 8: that out, and they say they don't want to be
- 38:27Speaker 8: responsible for this stuff, so then hey, they could they
- 38:30Speaker 8: take it out the budget. Now the teachers got to
- 38:33Speaker 8: be responsible for that. The teachers can't be responsible for
- 38:35Speaker 8: then they put the burden on the parents.
- 38:38Speaker 2: That's what they do.
- 38:39Speaker 6: And they already know if they're not gonna provide these resources,
- 38:45Speaker 6: if they're not gonna provide them, then they're not gonna
- 38:47Speaker 6: have them.
- 38:47Speaker 8: They know that, they know that, and they already know
- 38:51Speaker 8: which schools are gonna suffer. The Title five school, the
- 38:54Speaker 8: tidle four school, the low income school, And who attend
- 38:58Speaker 8: most of those schools are kids Tie to five schools
- 39:02Speaker 8: are usually our kids. And that's just what they do
- 39:09Speaker 8: all the programming. You look at a lot of these places.
- 39:12Speaker 8: They don't want the different funds. We have schools that
- 39:17Speaker 8: actually turn down the free lunch. So if your child
- 39:20Speaker 8: go to that school, if you can't afford to pay
- 39:26Speaker 8: for lunch and your child don't eat, if you're not
- 39:31Speaker 8: gonna fix some lunch.
- 39:34Speaker 2: But that is what's happened. And our kids shouldn't have
- 39:37Speaker 2: to worry about.
- 39:38Speaker 8: That because they already doomed because of these babies don't
- 39:42Speaker 8: know how to read and write. By the time they
- 39:44Speaker 8: in third grade, they done. They are done because they
- 39:48Speaker 8: they're not teaching them. No, they're not teaching them past
- 39:50Speaker 8: the third grade. So while we out here trying to
- 39:54Speaker 8: figure out all this other stuff, these people just keep
- 39:56Speaker 8: passing our kids along. And then you got a twelfth
- 39:59Speaker 8: grade to get ready to walk and can't even sign
- 40:01Speaker 8: his name, don't even know how to write a check,
- 40:04Speaker 8: don't even know half of the stuff.
- 40:06Speaker 2: That they don't even they don't even know. They don't
- 40:10Speaker 2: they're not writing curses they be. They just know it's
- 40:15Speaker 2: just not a print.
- 40:16Speaker 5: That's all they do is print.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Ahead for that.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Yes, I'm here in the prison system, man, and I've
- 40:24Speaker 5: been that for a long time.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Man.
- 40:25Speaker 5: And uh, I have paid closer attention to a lot
- 40:28Speaker 5: of these individuals that the prison systems.
- 40:31Speaker 7: For the most part.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Man, these kids in this generation are very very smart, man. Yes,
- 40:36Speaker 5: Like these kids write farms, these books got these kids
- 40:40Speaker 5: got drawing with uhuh expertise. These kids can draw you
- 40:44Speaker 5: looking at yourself in a mirror. Man, Let's see looking
- 40:48Speaker 5: at yourself in a mirror. If they can draw you
- 40:51Speaker 5: identically looking at yourself in the miryrand that's talent.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Man.
- 40:55Speaker 5: So for the most part, a lot of these kids
- 40:58Speaker 5: a lot of talent in the and theseus your kids
- 41:01Speaker 5: can come from society. So I know if these kids
- 41:04Speaker 5: have the type of talent because believe I'm not the
- 41:08Speaker 5: books of the poem books that business tends to be writing.
- 41:12Speaker 5: I'll be showing them to these kids. And I'll be
- 41:14Speaker 5: turning to these kids to beat to do stuff like
- 41:16Speaker 5: this because I asked them, sid, what do you do
- 41:18Speaker 5: you write book? When you write yourself? And when they
- 41:21Speaker 5: told me they do this, I knew right then and
- 41:23Speaker 5: there were very small I showed them the books and
- 41:27Speaker 5: so they're asking me how to get involved. That type
- 41:29Speaker 5: of a point to you is this, we can teach
- 41:32Speaker 5: these kids how to do that if we get involved
- 41:35Speaker 5: in their lives and keep them away from drugs. Man,
- 41:39Speaker 5: it's the community has to play me a part.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Of these these kids.
- 41:43Speaker 5: The churches don't just have church on time, have church
- 41:47Speaker 5: every day in the community with the kids.
- 41:52Speaker 2: That's just the way it.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Has to be, man, because right now we have a
- 41:55Speaker 5: very very bent considers problem. We throw them up further
- 41:58Speaker 5: systems in the other side. Anybody listening to this, we
- 42:04Speaker 5: hope for the kid that you relisten very carefully and
- 42:07Speaker 5: get it involved into your coming to teach and stop
- 42:09Speaker 5: the little kids and the older kids and those that
- 42:12Speaker 5: you do to stop you the doug and the big
- 42:15Speaker 5: to do better what they like. So with that being said, ma'am,
- 42:19Speaker 5: I would like to, you know, get involved with the
- 42:23Speaker 5: discussions about mister James. Look, okayver y'all have a chance.
- 42:27Speaker 6: Okay, let's go ahead and shift gears, because let's talk
- 42:32Speaker 6: about the look.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Everyone know we had at mister legate On I believe.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Was it three times Cornell, Yes, ma'am And we just
- 42:44Speaker 6: been just just going over his case and trying to
- 42:49Speaker 6: figure this out, and we believe we don't figure it out.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Go ahead for him, Okay, thank you very much, ma'am.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Had the officer got ready and know it has to
- 43:02Speaker 5: said that mister jamesler gates here, mister Edgar said, which
- 43:05Speaker 5: is a business offer called the Dingo Teams. And according
- 43:08Speaker 5: to the fact of the circumstances of leading to that,
- 43:11Speaker 5: mister dans La Kate had what to the boss. You
- 43:14Speaker 5: know what I'm saying that mister ed and Eddie Garty
- 43:16Speaker 5: had on and while he was sitting there, he was
- 43:19Speaker 5: very intoxicated. While he was waiting for an individuals there,
- 43:22Speaker 5: mister h Guard called mister Legate to the office. The
- 43:26Speaker 5: miner said, there wasn't too many people in the prop
- 43:30Speaker 5: me the guard sent up and maybe want to when
- 43:32Speaker 5: the business. So when mister Legate went to the office
- 43:35Speaker 5: of mister Eddiegard said with his suitcase, hmm. When he
- 43:40Speaker 5: went to shake mister Gates, guards their saying and had
- 43:43Speaker 5: him a business guard. Somebody came behind mister Legate to shoot,
- 43:47Speaker 5: mister Guard said, and when that happened, mister Guard the
- 43:51Speaker 5: jumped up, put the table over mister the Gate ran
- 43:54Speaker 5: out of the building. And when he did that, the
- 43:57Speaker 5: person that was shooting at mister Garston shout him five primes,
- 44:01Speaker 5: shot at him five primes and ran out the gates
- 44:04Speaker 5: off the door and missed gaun here chased him out.
- 44:08Speaker 5: But the windings to the thing if they saw mister
- 44:10Speaker 5: lay run out of the front door down the street
- 44:13Speaker 5: with no suitcase and they saw a man everybody it
- 44:17Speaker 5: chased come miss Gaudis who happened to collapse us. So
- 44:22Speaker 5: we're trying to figure out how would be locked impossible
- 44:26Speaker 5: that listen to the kid who ran down the street.
- 44:28Speaker 5: You don't know, have no Gunpillo run the building. It's over.
- 44:30Speaker 5: We're gonna have no gunfither and rather do all their
- 44:32Speaker 5: fu We ended up here to choose the cause of
- 44:35Speaker 5: the depth because God said, now the luggage, the suitcase
- 44:41Speaker 5: that was found in the office, the paper were in
- 44:43Speaker 5: up on the floor, and mister got his office and
- 44:48Speaker 5: the suitcase and the murder will end up behind the
- 44:51Speaker 5: buildings next to the daven aparts. So my question is
- 44:56Speaker 5: how to hit the suitcase and the mother weren't get
- 44:58Speaker 5: down the o to break with mister leaven This is
- 45:03Speaker 5: the game. Has been a few of the positive desert
- 45:05Speaker 5: man for some type of hicks. But mister could not
- 45:10Speaker 5: mean the clock carry.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Un hit man.
- 45:13Speaker 5: He was intoxicated on this day. And because he was
- 45:16Speaker 5: intoxicated on this day, somebody is seriously accuse this man
- 45:21Speaker 5: saw them just up mister Eddy guards there. The bartender
- 45:25Speaker 5: is the person that I'm caixes to meet Roy because
- 45:29Speaker 5: if the suitcase is left in the office, who had
- 45:33Speaker 5: access to that suitcase? The bar tender? If the bartenders
- 45:37Speaker 5: saying she only saw mister lecgab went out of the office.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Why she didn't say that about the second individual on earth.
- 45:44Speaker 5: There's a back door. So if there's a back door,
- 45:48Speaker 5: then it's the post hey to the back door. Why
- 45:50Speaker 5: they did not go back out of the back door,
- 45:53Speaker 5: that's our question exactly what the so what's that being said,
- 45:57Speaker 5: ma'am mister James. The data is the man who has
- 46:00Speaker 5: been compigured for a political crime of aenough for time
- 46:05Speaker 5: is the fact that a congressman, mister Booster Marte the
- 46:11Speaker 5: operation of mister Eddie Gartill, and not only that, mister
- 46:15Speaker 5: Eddie guard said is a big businessman who was in
- 46:18Speaker 5: the princess of time to buy the Senate in front
- 46:20Speaker 5: of your life, which is now the Senate telling your
- 46:23Speaker 5: express news. And with that being here, he had his
- 46:26Speaker 5: hands and other process. But they used somebody to say
- 46:31Speaker 5: that listen to the gate was given a weapon from
- 46:35Speaker 5: a guy named mister her that day is mister Floyd
- 46:39Speaker 5: her Man that said he gave mister Legator whistling and
- 46:41Speaker 5: that and he overheard missus Waulan tell listen they gave
- 46:45Speaker 5: him that he needed to mister Morland as opponent of
- 46:48Speaker 5: mister Eddie Gardi, who was supposed to be hading Deliffer
- 46:54Speaker 5: and giving out free drinks to people that called mister
- 46:57Speaker 5: Eddiegard said to lose work. But the ads said that
- 47:00Speaker 5: he was gonna file home and entire operations and get
- 47:03Speaker 5: some more people. So now that made him a target.
- 47:07Speaker 5: So before he hit the meeting, he ended up there.
- 47:10Speaker 5: Mister Lea has been accused of this firm, and we
- 47:13Speaker 5: have come from to find out that this man did
- 47:15Speaker 5: not commits his firm. So my question is why the
- 47:19Speaker 5: attorney offer detectives, allow for the evidence to go and
- 47:24Speaker 5: listen lister James Legates and allow him to be the
- 47:27Speaker 5: biggest farm. Get That's my question.
- 47:30Speaker 6: Uh. I wanted to say this because I've been I've
- 47:38Speaker 6: been doing a lot of reading on mister Legates. Everything
- 47:42Speaker 6: is public records. You can google his name and everything,
- 47:44Speaker 6: the bing king and everything that Cornell did stated. All
- 47:48Speaker 6: of that is in black and white and in the
- 47:53Speaker 6: newspapers and stuff, and it tells you the senator's name
- 47:57Speaker 6: Usta Monte Cruise, and it was a couple of more
- 48:02Speaker 6: big kidders that was in this. And then you have
- 48:05Speaker 6: people that was close to mister Garcia that says that.
- 48:11Speaker 2: The Gate was not.
- 48:14Speaker 6: The hitman, but they not get You know, people ain't
- 48:17Speaker 6: gonna say anything, but they just gonna let him take it.
- 48:21Speaker 6: So they actually know who did it. So they just
- 48:24Speaker 6: using mister Legate as a scapegoat. And also things is
- 48:28Speaker 6: coming up in the in the newspaper saying that at
- 48:34Speaker 6: the why mister leg Gate was in the bar, that
- 48:38Speaker 6: he was on the phone, that he was on the
- 48:40Speaker 6: cordless phone.
- 48:42Speaker 2: So okay, who is he talking to? Why he was
- 48:46Speaker 2: in there on the phone.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Did the police go back and run to get the
- 48:51Speaker 6: order of the telephone records when mister Garcia was on
- 48:55Speaker 6: his phone.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Who was he talking to?
- 48:57Speaker 6: Did the police go and requests the telephone records to
- 49:02Speaker 6: see who he was talking to?
- 49:03Speaker 2: Ain't nothing, ain't none of that evidence.
- 49:07Speaker 6: Ain't none of that brought to like we mister Legate
- 49:11Speaker 6: never once when he was on here, said that he
- 49:14Speaker 6: was sitting in there.
- 49:15Speaker 4: On a.
- 49:16Speaker 2: On a on a phone.
- 49:19Speaker 6: Other women said that when they seen mister Legate run
- 49:22Speaker 6: run out of out of the office, that he was terrified.
- 49:27Speaker 6: He had this look on his face. It's all in
- 49:30Speaker 6: black and white. Now, if you're a hit man, are
- 49:33Speaker 6: you gonna take your car, work your car in front
- 49:37Speaker 6: of the establishment, Where you gonna do this here at
- 49:40Speaker 6: Are you gonna be sitting there bragging, talking about what
- 49:44Speaker 6: you're gonna do and all of this stuff, or and
- 49:48Speaker 6: then once it's done, are you gonna run past your car?
- 49:53Speaker 2: That's you know, that's that not It doesn't add up.
- 49:58Speaker 6: And then also when they checked mister Legate's bank account, he.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Only had a couple of one hundred dollars in his
- 50:07Speaker 2: bank account.
- 50:08Speaker 6: And everybody that's close to mister Garcia, if you go
- 50:12Speaker 6: watch the documentary, don't just take our words.
- 50:15Speaker 2: Go watch the documentary. Go look at the.
- 50:22Speaker 6: The clip, the the what the news media had posted
- 50:26Speaker 6: back then. Then guess what call go for now?
- 50:32Speaker 2: We didn't tell you this. We was reading an article and.
- 50:39Speaker 6: It was someone It was a camera across the sleet
- 50:43Speaker 6: street at the gas station that caught the whole thing
- 50:48Speaker 6: on tape. They had it on tape. Tell me, why
- 50:52Speaker 6: didn't the police department go get the tape?
- 50:57Speaker 5: Okay, they did.
- 50:58Speaker 4: I sent you.
- 50:59Speaker 5: I sent you that.
- 51:00Speaker 2: I spent it to you. I don't know if you
- 51:01Speaker 2: got it yet, but it's in that article that I
- 51:04Speaker 2: sent you.
- 51:04Speaker 6: They didn't even get to take that right there, wouldn't
- 51:09Speaker 6: got to take they would have seen.
- 51:11Speaker 2: The whole thing, but they needed James Gate.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Okay, so what you have justified, man, is we called
- 51:20Speaker 5: that some time of naked investigations. Okay, they want state
- 51:24Speaker 5: here the assistant listening to eddiegar which is a big
- 51:27Speaker 5: old team who has just handled some of anything, and
- 51:32Speaker 5: Satan and Tonio and mental Legate was being identified as
- 51:35Speaker 5: the person who called the death of this individual. We
- 51:39Speaker 5: in fact know that he did not need to hit man.
- 51:42Speaker 5: The point now is that if we have a camera
- 51:46Speaker 5: review across the street that has captured the whole entire scene.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Now the media, all the persons who are joined the
- 51:55Speaker 5: documentary should have made a request that inporation exact and
- 51:59Speaker 5: all the o that mister James Legee is an innocent
- 52:03Speaker 5: me and that somebody was seen coming out of that office.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Gotta sister Legatum was arrested it and after anything taking place, ma'am.
- 52:15Speaker 5: And to the suitcase down the street with a weapon
- 52:20Speaker 5: that is being classified, I had a dumb murder weapon.
- 52:24Speaker 5: So that's gonna add up to be number one. While
- 52:26Speaker 5: because Walter murderer leaves the murdey weapon where it can
- 52:30Speaker 5: be taken around the corner and placed next to the suitcase, exact,
- 52:34Speaker 5: can't do that, that's gonna add up number one because
- 52:38Speaker 5: the murderer would run out of that building with the
- 52:41Speaker 5: murder weapon, with the gloves on that hand and with
- 52:44Speaker 5: the suitcase. If I do that on the throw the
- 52:46Speaker 5: gloves on the ground, the suitcase on the ground, and
- 52:49Speaker 5: the gun on the ground. So when they find anything,
- 52:52Speaker 5: they're gonna find it right there on the ground. Nobody
- 52:55Speaker 5: has mentioned anything about a pair of gloves.
- 53:00Speaker 8: So mine to.
- 53:02Speaker 5: Mister Dames Bligate tested as the negative forty five minutes
- 53:06Speaker 5: after the crime negative for girl Polon reverdent were go
- 53:09Speaker 5: on his hand and his brother. The working was five
- 53:13Speaker 5: five times, which would mean that there's a large amount
- 53:16Speaker 5: of Jim power residue begin the pict Who fo that
- 53:20Speaker 5: WI is because there's none O. Mister James Blagate to
- 53:25Speaker 5: Dames locate as an inert man and has been wronged
- 53:28Speaker 5: to conviction for a crime but murder that he did
- 53:30Speaker 5: not commit. So how do we take mister James legate case?
- 53:34Speaker 5: Did you buy the Digital's office? Well, if you're listening
- 53:39Speaker 5: to this fine cast night Man and anyone that's out
- 53:41Speaker 5: there listening to it, will actually you to serve for
- 53:45Speaker 5: a significati petition to EXCU for the review of the
- 53:49Speaker 5: case of mister James blagation Justice afligate to reopen his
- 53:54Speaker 5: case up for further investigation, and that all of the
- 53:57Speaker 5: evidence in the state that can put put a pencil
- 54:00Speaker 5: before that. That's what that's what the situation.
- 54:06Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, because we got eight minutes and we're gonna
- 54:11Speaker 6: wrap it up. Los Angeles undropped off the spring. But
- 54:16Speaker 6: you know, you guys, uh, I just wish that you
- 54:19Speaker 6: would go look at the evidence that the that they
- 54:28Speaker 6: tried to use against mister Legate. There's no evidence there.
- 54:33Speaker 6: You know, just by us reading and doing our research
- 54:37Speaker 6: and stuff, we see things. What the officers were the
- 54:42Speaker 6: police they had their investigators missed.
- 54:46Speaker 5: You know.
- 54:47Speaker 6: Number one of the biggest thing that I when I
- 54:51Speaker 6: read that, I was shocked that it was a video
- 54:56Speaker 6: from across the street. The lady said it was a
- 54:59Speaker 6: c video in a video called everything. And the investigators
- 55:05Speaker 6: did not did not request a copy of that tape
- 55:12Speaker 6: or because mister James Legate had a print a copy
- 55:19Speaker 6: of his ID.
- 55:21Speaker 2: That it was on the ground left in mister Garcia's office.
- 55:26Speaker 6: All they had to do was go pull the tape
- 55:30Speaker 6: and they would have they would have seen what happened.
- 55:32Speaker 6: We don't know if the tape is still available. It
- 55:36Speaker 6: been over twenty some years. Of course it may not
- 55:38Speaker 6: be probably been taped over. You know, they probably didn't
- 55:42Speaker 6: deserve the tape for a time like this, And now
- 55:46Speaker 6: we have an innocent man that did twenty five years
- 55:51Speaker 6: plus for something that he didn't do.
- 55:57Speaker 2: In your time.
- 55:59Speaker 6: You know, I'm gonna just keep pep. I'm telling you guys,
- 56:01Speaker 6: please go watch the documentary. Listen to what the investigators
- 56:05Speaker 6: are saying in the documentary. It's a lot of people
- 56:10Speaker 6: that believe that James Legate is the innocent man sitting
- 56:16Speaker 6: in prison, just like my husband Anne Johnson, fifteen years
- 56:24Speaker 6: innocent of what they accused him to do, did what
- 56:29Speaker 6: he did, and they won't even give him an evidence herence.
- 56:34Speaker 6: But they gave another guy that killed three people and
- 56:39Speaker 6: they had evidence against him. They got how he got
- 56:44Speaker 6: back in court court this year. He killed three people.
- 56:49Speaker 6: They gave him three life sentences. They said he had
- 56:54Speaker 6: jury misconduct. That's how they got him back in court.
- 57:00Speaker 2: He took a deal.
- 57:03Speaker 6: The DA came to him because they didn't want to
- 57:06Speaker 6: go back through the courts to have another trial. They
- 57:09Speaker 6: offered him a deal for forty two years for three people,
- 57:17Speaker 6: and he they had all the evidence, but he got
- 57:20Speaker 6: forty two forty two years and they gave him seven years.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Time, Sir, he got a date. But all the other
- 57:35Speaker 2: men's in Denver, in Colorado are still fighting. That's not fair.
- 57:40Speaker 5: Okay, okay, Well, can I say something on mister Walling's
- 57:44Speaker 5: sa maw yes, okay, right now, I'm pill okay, just
- 57:48Speaker 5: like mister Wace and what not. Just recently, God follow
- 57:52Speaker 5: multiple tradition loaders, and the traditional loaders based upon lack
- 57:57Speaker 5: of subject matter of their addiction of the indictment and
- 58:00Speaker 5: a lack of setic matter of addiction means that the
- 58:03Speaker 5: conviction isvorced. Now this most has reopened the hole entire
- 58:07Speaker 5: paste right now. So with mister Vaughan, mister mister mster
- 58:11Speaker 5: Vaughn Johnson man, I would love to encourage him to
- 58:15Speaker 5: be able to think about putting emotions a petition notice
- 58:19Speaker 5: to the Service Act immediately needs based upon lack of
- 58:22Speaker 5: stic matter juudiction based on the evidence that was presented
- 58:26Speaker 5: to the grand jury to indut him. And I would
- 58:29Speaker 5: love to be able to send him a copy I
- 58:32Speaker 5: said to it to see how it is designed and
- 58:35Speaker 5: how it reopens the case because in the emotional acting
- 58:39Speaker 5: for an evidential are hearing man, and this potion is
- 58:43Speaker 5: directed to the Dust, not the Court of Upfields, not
- 58:46Speaker 5: the quart of Colma Fielding, but to the Dust who
- 58:49Speaker 5: has the pour over indictment to address and evidence the
- 58:53Speaker 5: area given to allow mister farn to be able to
- 58:57Speaker 5: develop a record on the evidence that was pre editor
- 59:00Speaker 5: to the Grand Jersey, because as you know, we know
- 59:05Speaker 5: that there's no underlying.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Offer to support capital exact exactly.
- 59:10Speaker 5: So with that being said, mister Flawn have enough information
- 59:14Speaker 5: right there to go back to emotion the judicitional notice.
- 59:18Speaker 5: But immediately a lot of stuffect manage, and this is
- 59:23Speaker 5: to the court and the genery will have to have
- 59:26Speaker 5: res agnost because if he tries to not, we can
- 59:30Speaker 5: appeal that decision and reopen the whole case for that decision.
- 59:35Speaker 5: So that's my take on that, ma'am, and I want
- 59:37Speaker 5: to be in communication with you about that further after
- 59:41Speaker 5: the show man.
- 59:42Speaker 6: Okay, and so we got three minutes, so let's go
- 59:45Speaker 6: ahead and do our closing remarks.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Go ahead, uh co hosts Okay.
- 59:50Speaker 5: Based upon the issues that we raised about mister Dinas
- 59:53Speaker 5: brost case. Okay, we hope to pray that somebody would
- 59:58Speaker 5: try to make some pipe of an while to rest
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: Washington's help and what case to be going on and
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: the judicial system where the state being denied on an
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: impossible date. He's so much twenty fourths in the box
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: the day was reading the all court houses in the
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: United States are closed, but in this particular case they
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: entered the decisions of firm and his competitions so fast
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: number one with his stakes as far as the drug
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: epidemic and our systems of corrections in our society, we
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: are acting for petitions to be made to our governors,
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: to our city officials to becot programs to help kids
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: understand the importance of that these and drugs in the day,
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: I would love off for the community of someone to
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: come together and for message Adgate here to reopen the
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: case of because he's a council man who has their
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: politically competed for a crime he did not commit.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Thank you man, you're welcome.
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: Well that's another another episode down written down in the books.
- 1:01:06Speaker 6: Thank you guys so much for joining in with me
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: again on this evening. We will be back on I
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: believe Friday, we have a bonus show, and we do
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: have a guest that's going to be joining me and
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: Cornell on this Friday.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I hope you guys enjoy your.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Labor day, that you guys is resting, because tomorrow, you know,
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: we got to hit it back out there in the workforce.
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: You guys, remember to use your voice when it even
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: though it seems shaky, you have a right to use
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: your voice and make it powerful. Drink your water and
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: stay y'all.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Lane. If you don't have nothing good to say, love
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: you and I'll see you again. Link wild get to
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: the murder. Except he was in the building and he ran.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: He didn't have gunpotter residue on his hands, No fingerprints
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: were found. There is no motive.
- 1:02:13Speaker 9: When we had the detective on the stand, Detective Albright,
- 1:02:16Speaker 9: I asked him about forensics, specifically, was there blood on
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: James Legate's clothes and he said no, there was not.
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: I then asked him about gunpotter residue and he said
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: there was no gunpowder residue. James Legate tested within hours clean,
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: nothing on his hands, nothing on his clothes. I asked
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: him about fingerprints. He said there was no fingerprints. I said,
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: so in general, there's no forensic connecting my client to
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: this case.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: He said, that's correct.
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: Well, I think it was the evidence that was found
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: at the scene pointed us immediately to
