- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another French lesson? Luna: Absolutely! I've been looking forward to this. Lucas: Great! Today we're going to talk about weekend plans. A very useful topic. Luna: Oh, I love making plans. Teach me some French for that. Lucas: Let's start with a simple phrase: Je vais. It means 'I go' or 'I'm going'. Luna: Je vais. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's say 'I'm going to the cinema' — Je vais au cinéma. Luna: Je vais au cinéma. Lucas: Right. Now what about 'I'm going to the park'? Je vais au parc. Luna: Je vais au parc. That sounds nice. Lucas: Yes. Now another useful phrase: On peut. It means 'we can'. Luna: On peut. Lucas: Good. So 'we can go to the cinema' — On peut aller au cinéma. Luna: On peut aller au cinéma. Lucas: Excellent. And 'we can go to the park' — On peut aller au parc. Luna: On peut aller au parc. Lucas: Now let's put them together. Imagine you're planning with a friend. You could say: Je vais au cinéma. On peut aller ensemble? Luna: Je vais au cinéma. On peut aller ensemble? That's 'I'm going to the cinema. Can we go together?' Lucas: Exactly! And the friend might answer with a simple phrase: Bon week-end! That means 'have a good weekend'. Luna: Bon week-end! I love that. It's friendly. Lucas: Let's practice a short conversation. I'll start. Bon week-end! Je vais au parc. On peut aller ensemble? Luna: Bon week-end! Oui, on peut aller au parc. Bon week-end! Lucas: Perfect, Luna! You used all three phrases. Luna: This is really helpful. I can already imagine using this. Lucas: If today's lesson was useful, and Fexingo is helping you make progress, listener support is what keeps it ad-free.
