- 0:10Speaker 2: Fun year for the Rais And we're talking to Craig
- 0:12Speaker 2: Kimball right now, raise reliever joining us back on FT.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Thank you so much for doing this, Craig, great to
- 0:17Speaker 2: have you on. How's life dude, How are you liking
- 0:19Speaker 2: the rays right now?
- 0:20Speaker 1: Yeah, the weather down here in Florida is nice.
- 0:23Speaker 3: It's nice and hot, but it's nice to be back
- 0:25Speaker 3: in the trot, you know, just kind of thinking about
- 0:28Speaker 3: what they did last year outside down here in this weather.
- 0:31Speaker 3: It's uh, seems nice, nice and happy to be back
- 0:34Speaker 3: in this trump canfield.
- 0:37Speaker 4: When you're walking in, when you're walking in, because you
- 0:39Speaker 4: probably have a close spot at the trot because it
- 0:41Speaker 4: goes on service time. We've talked about that. But when
- 0:44Speaker 4: you're walking in and you got get a little armpit
- 0:46Speaker 4: sweat and you're like, I'm getting chest sweat too, do
- 0:50Speaker 4: you think about that? Is that like your thought, like
- 0:52Speaker 4: I'm glad we are not outside?
- 0:54Speaker 3: No, absolutely, every day, just get in, get in, getting
- 0:57Speaker 3: the ac and get going. You know, he still gets
- 1:00Speaker 3: way going inside, but it's it's nothing like being outside
- 1:03Speaker 3: in the summertime in Florida for sure.
- 1:05Speaker 5: I mean, are you.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Still throwing the rod and are you still throwing the
- 1:07Speaker 4: rod in the water a little bit, though, Like you
- 1:09Speaker 4: can handle this.
- 1:10Speaker 3: You know, since I've been down there, I haven't. I
- 1:12Speaker 3: haven't yet. I did a lot of fishing in spring training.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But uh, you know, they gotta worry about my job
- 1:18Speaker 3: right now. I can't be ripping lips too much right now.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Okay, Well that's all I was gonna ask you. How
- 1:23Speaker 4: focused do you need to be on your job? And
- 1:26Speaker 4: I got so many different ways to go about that
- 1:29Speaker 4: because a lot of times you see veterans and they're like,
- 1:32Speaker 4: WRONGM good, Like I know exactly what I need to do.
- 1:34Speaker 4: How much do you at the focus and stay away
- 1:35Speaker 4: from like the other things that kind of get in
- 1:38Speaker 4: the way.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I think, I think a lot of a lot of
- 1:41Speaker 3: times that all depends on where you are, you know
- 1:44Speaker 3: they're there. There are times physically and mentally you show
- 1:47Speaker 3: up and you're like, I can feel like I can pick.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Up the ball and go out there and do my
- 1:51Speaker 1: job and and not think about it too much. And
- 1:53Speaker 1: then there's other times where you're like.
- 1:54Speaker 3: You know, I need to hone something in a little
- 1:56Speaker 3: bit and I need to practice something a little bit more,
- 2:00Speaker 3: you know, let it be focused I need to shift
- 2:01Speaker 3: my focus a little bit more towards, you know, my daily.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Routine if it's something's changed.
- 2:08Speaker 3: But anytime you get a chance to step away and
- 2:10Speaker 3: fish or golf or do anything like that, that can
- 2:13Speaker 3: be actually something to be very good. Just kind of
- 2:16Speaker 3: get your mind off of it at times because we
- 2:18Speaker 3: got such a long season. But I'm just saying right
- 2:21Speaker 3: now and in my progress coming off the il and
- 2:25Speaker 3: getting back on the field, it's definitely more on getting
- 2:28Speaker 3: back to my routine than it is taking care of
- 2:30Speaker 3: my hobbies.
- 2:32Speaker 5: How hard is.
- 2:32Speaker 4: That as a veteran guy thinking about anytime you're on
- 2:37Speaker 4: IO when you were younger compared to now. Because we
- 2:40Speaker 4: just talked about ver Land and if you saw his
- 2:43Speaker 4: quote was you know, you want to push your body
- 2:46Speaker 4: to the limit till it breaks, and he goes, maybe
- 2:49Speaker 4: it's actually breaking right now because he just pulled his
- 2:51Speaker 4: hamstring and he's gonna be out for four weeks. How
- 2:53Speaker 4: hard is that at this point in your career to
- 2:57Speaker 4: be able to one deal with but two also be
- 2:59Speaker 4: able to rehab from.
- 3:03Speaker 3: No, I mean absolutely. I think a lot of times
- 3:06Speaker 3: it depends on what it is, obviously, But you know,
- 3:11Speaker 3: playing this game for so long you get an idea
- 3:14Speaker 3: of when things feel right and when things feel wrong
- 3:16Speaker 3: and how far you can push your body, because I
- 3:19Speaker 3: mean that's what we do as professional athletes, as we
- 3:21Speaker 3: were out there and push our bodies to the limit
- 3:23Speaker 3: every opportunity that we get to go out there, cover
- 3:27Speaker 3: and then go out there and do it again.
- 3:30Speaker 5: So we kind of have a pretty good gauge.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Of where our meter is and controlling that and knowing
- 3:36Speaker 3: when we need to push through and gain more or
- 3:38Speaker 3: if we're in a spot that is a good spot
- 3:41Speaker 3: to be in, let it be strength, speed, you name it.
- 3:46Speaker 3: There are spots that you want to be in and
- 3:48Speaker 3: you can hold onto and then there are times where
- 3:50Speaker 3: you're like, hey, I can I can keep on building,
- 3:51Speaker 3: I can keep on getting stronger. I feel like I
- 3:54Speaker 3: can hit the ball harder or throw the ball harder,
- 3:57Speaker 3: and you can you can feel like, hey, I'm gaining,
- 4:00Speaker 3: I'm growing and it's not slowing me down.
- 4:02Speaker 5: So the body feels pretty good.
- 4:04Speaker 3: And I think it's just a constant battle throughout the
- 4:06Speaker 3: season of you know, finding that line and then staying
- 4:10Speaker 3: on it, because as soon as you take a day off,
- 4:12Speaker 3: you're sometimes you're having to take too many, too many
- 4:15Speaker 3: days to get back to where you were.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Right when you came on the show and you saw
- 4:20Speaker 4: yourself on the screen, did you look at the did
- 4:23Speaker 4: you look at your hat and go, oh, that's right,
- 4:25Speaker 4: that's right, yep, yep raise. Has it been hard to
- 4:28Speaker 4: keep up with the fact that now you're with the Rais?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I think this is your eleventh big league team?
- 4:32Speaker 5: Correct?
- 4:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I think I can't even keep
- 4:36Speaker 3: up with that now. I just, uh, I enjoy the game,
- 4:41Speaker 3: the game itself. You know, no matter what uniform you're
- 4:45Speaker 3: putting on or what hat you're wearing, you know, the
- 4:50Speaker 3: game is the same. The idea, the idea of going
- 4:52Speaker 3: out there competing every single night with a group of
- 4:55Speaker 3: guys who care and have passionate about the game and
- 5:00Speaker 3: want to show up and win every single night.
- 5:02Speaker 5: It doesn't matter what uniform to wearing, and to still.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Get that opportunity to do it and share some of
- 5:08Speaker 3: the things I've learned through the years and and continue
- 5:10Speaker 3: on learning with how our game continues to change and
- 5:14Speaker 3: all the information we have just continue to you know,
- 5:18Speaker 3: try to grow, learn and and you know, go out
- 5:21Speaker 3: there and use that information to have some fun.

- 5:31Speaker 2: to finding every single game on the MLB calendar, there

- 5:37Speaker 6: There's an All Star game. There's a home run Derby.
- 5:39Speaker 6: And if you think you're perfect and you can pick
- 5:41Speaker 6: the right seat at the home run derby to get
- 5:43Speaker 6: the most home run balls, you can get the little
- 5:45Speaker 6: green dot and that might be your lucky seat. Don't
- 5:48Speaker 6: go red dot, though, because you might not get any balls,
- 5:50Speaker 6: but go redgreen dot and get as many home run
- 5:53Speaker 6: balls as you think you can catch.

- 6:22Speaker 2: your account so that you can use it later.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Thank you to Zeekeek Do.
- 6:27Speaker 4: You feel like you're chasing something or do you feel
- 6:29Speaker 4: like you're giving more to the game, Like do you
- 6:32Speaker 4: feel like we have Kelly Jansen on and he's chasing
- 6:35Speaker 4: this number that number you know had we had another
- 6:37Speaker 4: closer on he wanted to be the most appearances by
- 6:40Speaker 4: a Mexican pitcher. Are you chasing something or do you
- 6:42Speaker 4: feel like you're giving more to the game as.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I think the game, I think the game is still
- 6:46Speaker 3: given a lot to me. I mean, I have, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: the opportunity, like I just said, to share the things
- 6:53Speaker 3: that I've learned, But man, I'm getting so much back
- 6:57Speaker 3: from you know, the guys.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm getting the experience each.
- 7:02Speaker 3: And every day with you know, getting to bring my
- 7:04Speaker 3: kids in here and then let them experience, you know,
- 7:08Speaker 3: daddy being a big leaguer and what it is to
- 7:11Speaker 3: you know, learn manners and how to be around a
- 7:13Speaker 3: group of guys that are in here working and just
- 7:15Speaker 3: all those those little things that I've really started enjoy
- 7:19Speaker 3: over the last couple of years, just being able to
- 7:20Speaker 3: bring my family in here and letting them be a
- 7:22Speaker 3: part of it.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And it's very gratifying.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And then I enjoyed every single day and you know,
- 7:28Speaker 3: if I can wake up tomorrow and come back in
- 7:29Speaker 3: here and then do it again, I'm got's say it's
- 7:31Speaker 3: a good day.
- 7:33Speaker 5: That's so sick.
- 7:34Speaker 4: What did the Mets say, Well, can you walk us
- 7:36Speaker 4: through like when the Mets signed you, called you up
- 7:39Speaker 4: to the big leagues, to the point of when they
- 7:42Speaker 4: got rid of you. Is it still at this point
- 7:44Speaker 4: in your career, it's not you, it's us. It's a
- 7:47Speaker 4: numbers thing. What was the conversation that conversations that you
- 7:51Speaker 4: had with.
- 7:52Speaker 5: Them, I mean it's a lot.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I mean we I would say my experience with the
- 7:57Speaker 3: New York Mets was an extremely positive one. The you know,
- 8:01Speaker 3: the respect that they gave me, the conversations that we
- 8:04Speaker 3: have through you know, bringing me into camp, not making
- 8:08Speaker 3: the open date roster, and then eventually get the opportunity
- 8:10Speaker 3: to come and try to help them out, and just
- 8:13Speaker 3: conversating through that and you know, understanding what my role
- 8:17Speaker 3: was with the team, and you know what I was
- 8:19Speaker 3: trying trying to achieve physically to you know, obviously still
- 8:23Speaker 3: trying to help the team win each and every night.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And I think our conversation between you know, me and
- 8:29Speaker 3: the organization was amazing. They treated me well first class,
- 8:33Speaker 3: and they gave me this opportunity to be down here
- 8:36Speaker 3: in Tampa.
- 8:37Speaker 5: Something that they didn't have to do.
- 8:39Speaker 3: But in respect for me and knowing that I want
- 8:41Speaker 3: to pitch at the big league level, they gave me
- 8:44Speaker 3: this opportunity and I have to thank them a lot
- 8:46Speaker 3: for that.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Are there and I should have looked this up. Any
- 8:50Speaker 4: player teammates that you've played with the last two years
- 8:53Speaker 4: that are young guys that have.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Gone, Holy, yeah, that's Craig Kimbrel.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Is anybody like enamored by the fact that you're Craig Kimberrel.
- 9:03Speaker 4: That's like a young guy that's just into the league.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yes, and no, I think I think it goes away
- 9:09Speaker 3: pretty quick once they get to know me.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I think over the last year or so, I think
- 9:14Speaker 1: it's been more of a fun game.
- 9:16Speaker 3: The youngest guy on the team to come up and
- 9:18Speaker 3: tell me that he watched me when he was in
- 9:20Speaker 3: elementary school or or middle school or or whatnot, and
- 9:24Speaker 3: you know, it's fun.
- 9:26Speaker 5: I really enjoy it.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Kind of it lets me know how long I've been
- 9:30Speaker 3: haven't had this opportunity to do this, and you know,
- 9:34Speaker 3: always those guys at one point, you know, I got
- 9:35Speaker 3: an opportunity at twenty one years old to play with
- 9:38Speaker 3: a guy that I looked at as you know, one
- 9:41Speaker 3: of the greatest players, being an Atlanta fan, and you
- 9:45Speaker 3: know I was. I was in that shoot too, So
- 9:47Speaker 3: you know, it's it's fun, it's we have fun with it.
- 9:52Speaker 3: It's you know, it's I'm glad I can sit here
- 9:55Speaker 3: and say that guys get the joke on that I'm
- 9:58Speaker 3: still playing, because you know, I enjoy showing up every
- 10:02Speaker 3: day and a lot of a lot of times if
- 10:04Speaker 3: they joke on me too much about being old, I'm like,
- 10:06Speaker 3: come on, let's go in the weight room.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Let's see if you can keep up with me.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So, yeah, it's a lot of games exactly.
- 10:14Speaker 4: I obviously I was never a good player, but I
- 10:16Speaker 4: played for a long time and I know it was
- 10:18Speaker 4: like to be old and the old jokes all that stuff.
- 10:21Speaker 4: But you got to give me at least one guy
- 10:23Speaker 4: who You're like, man, I can't believe that guy like
- 10:25Speaker 4: told me he played like who was somebody that came
- 10:28Speaker 4: up to you and said it that. You're like, yeah,
- 10:30Speaker 4: I'm gonna definitely call him.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Out for it. Here.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Oh man, I'll go ahead and put this one because
- 10:36Speaker 3: I don't know if you'll talk to him. But earlier
- 10:38Speaker 3: in the year, we're kind of joking on the bus
- 10:41Speaker 3: about what, you know, like if someone was a millennial
- 10:45Speaker 3: or gen Z and someone was like, what, what's Craig
- 10:49Speaker 3: and Carson Bingch said, he is any from the Great Depression?
- 10:52Speaker 3: And so that was that was a pretty quick turnaround.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And he kind of hid in the back of the bus.
- 10:59Speaker 3: But I'm sure sure someone put him up to it.
- 11:01Speaker 3: But that was a that was a pretty good one.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I'm not that old, obviously, but I got the gist
- 11:07Speaker 3: of this joke.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Wait, wait, okay, so so people don't know, people don't know,
- 11:12Speaker 4: like hiding in the back of the bus. You put
- 11:14Speaker 4: him in the you put him in the pooper, right,
- 11:16Speaker 4: You put him in the toilet for saying that.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Right now, I might have made him bring bring me
- 11:21Speaker 3: a drink and just set it right in front of
- 11:22Speaker 3: me and not drink it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: But he didn't have to go, he didn't have to
- 11:25Speaker 1: go in the bathroom.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I think it was a pretty short bus ride.
- 11:30Speaker 4: You're so nice, You're such a You're such a nice.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Time too nice sometimes I think, I think, so.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Okay, well, that's why the rookies. I always I always
- 11:38Speaker 4: told people the rookies haven't changed, like they still have
- 11:40Speaker 4: the same mouth as when you were when you were
- 11:43Speaker 4: a rookie. Almost said freshman when you were a rookie.
- 11:45Speaker 4: The difference is the veterans have changed. You're so much nicer.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Chipper would have never let you say that when you
- 11:50Speaker 4: were a rookie.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely not, No, absolutely not.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, there's there's there's a lot more rookies nowadays though,
- 11:58Speaker 3: so it's kind of kind of the kind of gang
- 12:02Speaker 3: up on us.
- 12:02Speaker 5: You know, that's true. That's true.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Hey, one quick question about the closer on your team,
- 12:07Speaker 4: Brian Baker, who's not really closed until this year. Do
- 12:11Speaker 4: you have conversations or has he asked you any questions
- 12:14Speaker 4: about being a closer, Because I always talk about on
- 12:17Speaker 4: the show and other guys conversating, we talk about closing
- 12:21Speaker 4: is different. Yes, it's still three outs. Yes, it's the
- 12:24Speaker 4: main part of the lineup usually two, three, four. But
- 12:27Speaker 4: do you guys have any of those kinds of conversations
- 12:30Speaker 4: since he's essentially new to it at I think like
- 12:32Speaker 4: thirty one or thirty two years old.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I think we've had we've definitely had conversations about pitching
- 12:39Speaker 3: and when do you use things and how to use
- 12:41Speaker 3: things and kind of seeing moments. But you know, I
- 12:46Speaker 3: played with Bake a couple of years ago in Baltimore
- 12:48Speaker 3: and got to know him there, got to see the
- 12:51Speaker 3: stuff that he has and his stuff's electric and being
- 12:55Speaker 3: two years moved from that and seeing what he's doing now,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I see, I see someone who's understands how to compete
- 13:05Speaker 3: in what they have and then taking the next step
- 13:08Speaker 3: and using his competitive mentality to make, you know, make
- 13:12Speaker 3: it even that much better. You know, he's he's always
- 13:15Speaker 3: been a huge competitor, very fiery guy, and now you
- 13:18Speaker 3: put him, put him in a role where he can
- 13:20Speaker 3: finish the game and then the last out that he makes,
- 13:23Speaker 3: it can take a breath and celebrate with the team.
- 13:25Speaker 3: I think he's really embraced that role and he carries
- 13:29Speaker 3: that role. He wants that role, and he's you can
- 13:32Speaker 3: see how much success he's having with it. I mean,
- 13:34Speaker 3: he's very very happy to see him do that, especially
- 13:39Speaker 3: you know, I played with him two years ago and
- 13:41Speaker 3: seeing where he was and what he's been able to,
- 13:43Speaker 3: you know, mold and turn himself into as a competitor,
- 13:46Speaker 3: a big leaguer and now you know, going out there
- 13:50Speaker 3: closing games and what he's been able to do to
- 13:52Speaker 3: you know, put the team on his back. It's very
- 13:54Speaker 3: very encouraging to see and very happy for him.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Craig, you've been in the game a long time. Can
- 14:00Speaker 4: you recall your scariest moment in the bullpen? Visiting walk,
- 14:06Speaker 4: like just sitting in the bullpen, maybe even walking into
- 14:09Speaker 4: the game, like where you were like, Okay, that took
- 14:12Speaker 4: another level more than just like hey Greg, you shut
- 14:15Speaker 4: up all that stuff bull.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I mean I think it for all of it. I
- 14:23Speaker 1: think you have to go back to the first one.
- 14:25Speaker 3: You know, the first time you go down to the bullpen,
- 14:28Speaker 3: the first time you get and you're sitting there and
- 14:30Speaker 3: you're waiting for the phone ring.
- 14:31Speaker 1: You don't know if it's going to be you.
- 14:33Speaker 3: You're you're nervous, you're excited, you don't know how to feel,
- 14:36Speaker 3: you don't know what to think.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I think I think the first opportunity.
- 14:41Speaker 3: You get to go out there and compete is the
- 14:46Speaker 3: most nervous and most exciting I think you'll ever be
- 14:50Speaker 3: as a professional.
- 14:53Speaker 2: So do you think that fans now are better than
- 14:57Speaker 2: they were?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Like?
- 14:58Speaker 2: How are fans these days visiting bullpens, you know, like
- 15:01Speaker 2: I didn't. Didn't you have a fan chuck something at
- 15:04Speaker 2: you once or twice in like phill your New York.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Yeah, probably probably.
- 15:08Speaker 1: More than I know.
- 15:09Speaker 5: You know, there's only only No.
- 15:11Speaker 3: One coming out of New York in eighteen during the playoffs,
- 15:16Speaker 3: I had a beer thrown at me.
- 15:18Speaker 1: But yeah, but I'm sure, I'm sure I've made a couple.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Of people want to throw some stuff at me over
- 15:22Speaker 3: the years. But that just kind of that kind of
- 15:24Speaker 3: comes with the job.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah, And if you're dominating, they don't they're.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Not too bad. They're not too bad down the bullpen.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I mean, security usually does a pretty good job as
- 15:33Speaker 3: long as they keep it PG and you know, make
- 15:36Speaker 3: it to where you know, kids aren't hearing things they shouldn't.
- 15:40Speaker 3: You know, I think we enjoy it sometimes when when
- 15:42Speaker 3: they get pretty funny and you can make us laugh.
- 15:44Speaker 5: You know, I think you're doing a pretty good job.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Okay, So now I want to get to a very
- 15:49Speaker 2: important last part of the conversation here. So we teamed
- 15:53Speaker 2: up with Simon's Hart to make sure that people aware
- 15:56Speaker 2: of heart health and how conditions can be cure. If
- 16:00Speaker 2: you get on top of it early on. I'll explain
- 16:02Speaker 2: more in a moment, but can you explain your connection
- 16:06Speaker 2: to a cause like this.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you know we've been been involved in various different
- 16:14Speaker 3: organizations over the years, not not just heart health, but
- 16:17Speaker 3: just you know health in general, cancer, you know, not
- 16:22Speaker 3: trying to help children, but you know this, you know
- 16:24Speaker 3: it comes to heart health. It's something that me and
- 16:27Speaker 3: my family have walked through firsthand. Our daughter was born
- 16:31Speaker 3: with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and you know, just walking
- 16:35Speaker 3: through that and you know, she's she's good now, she's
- 16:37Speaker 3: eight years old, she's she's gone through that process. But
- 16:41Speaker 3: you know, just learning how you know, how easy it
- 16:44Speaker 3: is to be born and something not be right or
- 16:48Speaker 3: you know, something to evolve over time. You know, heart
- 16:51Speaker 3: health is it's something we don't talk about a lot.
- 16:54Speaker 3: It's something that is extremely important for us to just
- 16:57Speaker 3: survive and you know, learning through it and learning how
- 17:01Speaker 3: common it is for people to be kids to be
- 17:04Speaker 3: born with it or people to develop it over the years.
- 17:08Speaker 5: You know, it's something we got to pay attention to.
- 17:11Speaker 3: You know, the more we're aware about you know, how
- 17:14Speaker 3: we physically work or you know how you know diet wise,
- 17:17Speaker 3: what's best for us based on you know, who we
- 17:20Speaker 3: are as a person or how our body works. You know,
- 17:23Speaker 3: all those things are very important, and it all starts
- 17:26Speaker 3: with the heart. And without it, we wouldn't be walking around.
- 17:30Speaker 3: So I'm glad y'all brought this up. Something that's very
- 17:34Speaker 3: important to be in my family. We walk through it
- 17:36Speaker 3: every single day and and will for the rest of
- 17:39Speaker 3: our daughter's life. But you know, it's it's amazing that
- 17:42Speaker 3: there's there's so many organizations and hospitals and people out
- 17:46Speaker 3: there that put so much time, effort, money into you know,
- 17:49Speaker 3: helping people save their lives, save people's lives and loved
- 17:52Speaker 3: ones lives, and you know, just making it to where
- 17:56Speaker 3: you know, it's not a it's not something that will
- 17:59Speaker 3: you know, in the life life, but something that we
- 18:01Speaker 3: you know, can work through and and and you know,
- 18:05Speaker 3: understand a little bit better.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I mean, most hard conditions are detectable and treatable. So
- 18:11Speaker 2: if you don't mind, do you remember the time period
- 18:13Speaker 2: when you were experiencing that, and you know how scary
- 18:16Speaker 2: it was, how much you learned about the situation, and
- 18:19Speaker 2: how much it was helpful to have, you know, support
- 18:21Speaker 2: around you. I think you you know, took a took
- 18:24Speaker 2: a beat from the team so you can make sure
- 18:25Speaker 2: everything was okay at home, the whole deal there.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we found out very early.
- 18:32Speaker 5: I mean with the imaging.
- 18:34Speaker 3: We actually found out when we went in to you know,
- 18:37Speaker 3: find out what gender she was and they look at
- 18:40Speaker 3: the heart and the lungs and the brain and all
- 18:42Speaker 3: those things, and that's when we found out. But it's
- 18:46Speaker 3: also because we found out so early, it gave us
- 18:50Speaker 3: an opportunity to put it put a team together to
- 18:53Speaker 3: give her care at Boston Children's Hospital. And I can't
- 18:56Speaker 3: say enough about you know, how much they helped us,
- 19:01Speaker 3: how much they helped our child obviously, and just just
- 19:06Speaker 3: working through the process that you know, it's not a
- 19:09Speaker 3: one time thing, it's a it's a it's a lifetime,
- 19:11Speaker 3: lifetime relationship of working through and making sure everything's okay
- 19:17Speaker 3: and and shake ups and you know, it's a never
- 19:22Speaker 3: ending thing. But you know, now we sit here and
- 19:24Speaker 3: talk about it, there's there's so many people out there
- 19:26Speaker 3: that are in need of you know, you know, funds
- 19:31Speaker 3: and places to stay in food, you know, families, the
- 19:36Speaker 3: child do or or person who you know is.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Affected by it.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It hurts them, but it's also tough on families as well,
- 19:43Speaker 3: and you know the fact that there's programs in place
- 19:48Speaker 3: to help you help the families and help the siblings,
- 19:53Speaker 3: and you know, getting to work and getting to school
- 19:56Speaker 3: and making sure you know this and that, just taking
- 19:59Speaker 3: care of I mean, the list goes on and on
- 20:01Speaker 3: and on, especially when you have a child, and you know,
- 20:04Speaker 3: we're very blessed to be in the situation that we
- 20:07Speaker 3: were in, but at the same time that everybody's there
- 20:11Speaker 3: and it's just it's so encouraging, like I said, to
- 20:13Speaker 3: see foundations and organizations put together to try to help
- 20:18Speaker 3: that one.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Well, thanks for sharing, Craig.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Means a lot obviously to spread some awareness about that
- 20:23Speaker 2: one too. And you're right, sometimes it does get overlooked
- 20:25Speaker 2: even though it is a is a massive deal within
- 20:28Speaker 2: the body. It is a big deal with a heart,
- 20:30Speaker 2: no doubt about it. Well, dude, great to catch up
- 20:32Speaker 2: with you. Thanks so much for the time. Appreciate it
- 20:34Speaker 2: fun watching you with this race team that's clearly thriving
- 20:37Speaker 2: on the field. So we'll catch up with you down the.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Road, all right.
- 20:41Speaker 5: I appreciate it, guys.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 20:43Speaker 2: That's Craig Kimberl of the race, and like we were
- 20:45Speaker 2: talking about here on the tail end, Simon's Hart and
- 20:49Speaker 2: the Babe Ruth League are actually partnering the spring to
- 20:51Speaker 2: protect the hearts and lives of young baseball and softball
- 20:53Speaker 2: players everywhere.
- 20:54Speaker 5: So this is cool.
- 20:55Speaker 2: They're spreading CPR awareness across schools and communities because yes,
- 20:59Speaker 2: you want to be able to detect heart conditions, but
- 21:01Speaker 2: also sudden cardiac arrest can really be a problem at
- 21:05Speaker 2: any moment at a place where you need help instantly,
- 21:09Speaker 2: and it's actually the leading cause of death of students
- 21:11Speaker 2: on school campuses. So you can learn more about hands
- 21:14Speaker 2: only CPR, your classmate and friend will have a better
- 21:18Speaker 2: chance of surviving if you're able to do that. It
- 21:20Speaker 2: is very easy to learn it and we've been posting
- 21:23Speaker 2: some clips on social media too. If you're a Babe
