Transcript
- Prashanthi Nuthi: For the last one year we have been visiting this doctor for my husband's sinus issues. The doctor is awesome. He's kind, energetic, very passionate and detail-oriented. He is the kind of a doctor anybody would want to have. However this last visit, there was something different about the visit. He was slightly distracted and he was not just himself. we both noticed and we immediately started giving excuses. Maybe he had a bad morning. Maybe there was another patient that he was worried about. Or maybe he was exhausted. We really don't know what the reason was. But it was very easy for us to believe in those excuses Because we had 12 months of history and context with them. Then as we were exiting out, we saw a new patient in the waiting law. That's when it occurred to me that the new patient was about to meet the version of the doctor that we never knew. and he was going to make a lasting impression out of it. Then I started thinking about work. I see a similar pattern. The first interview. The customer you are meeting after a long time. The stakeholder you have never interacted with. A new employee that just came in. All these people have no context or history about you. And they are about to make a lasting impression about you based on the version of you that they are going to make. Here's the micro boost for you too. What's the next meeting you're about to have? And who in that meeting Has the least history of context with you. And what's the kind of lasting impression you want to leave behind? Because every day is someone else's first day with you. Remember, small actions, big impact. Until we meet again next time, let's keep making impact together. Thank you.
