- 1:03Speaker 1: This guy has not spoken publicly since his hit Bravo show,
- 1:06Speaker 1: Shaws of Sunset, was canceled.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Today, we hear from Mike Shoehead. He's open. He's honest.
- 1:12Speaker 1: He gives us the behind the scenes on the show cancellation,
- 1:16Speaker 1: what it was like to be on the show, what
- 1:18Speaker 1: happened with his run-in with the law, his love life,
- 1:21Speaker 1: what he's doing now. He also discusses if he believes
- 1:24Speaker 1: in this reality reckoning, if he's Team Bethany or Team Bravo.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It was so interesting to have this hour with Mike,
- 1:31Speaker 1: and I'm so excited to bring it to you. So
- 1:33Speaker 1: sit back. Let me know your thoughts. You are not
- 1:36Speaker 1: going to be disappointed. Get ready for Mike Shoehead from
- 1:39Speaker 1: Shaws of Sunset.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Hi, Mikey.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm so happy that you're here. It's such an honor
- 2:12Speaker 1: and a pleasure. Welcome to Misunderstood.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Thank you so much. It's a pleasure to be here
- 2:16Speaker 3: with you.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So I really want to know from the beginning, how
- 2:20Speaker 1: did Shaws of Sunset come to pass? How did it
- 2:25Speaker 1: get approached? How did you get approached and why did
- 2:29Speaker 1: you do it?
- 2:30Speaker 4: So I was living in Las Vegas and I spent...
- 2:35Speaker 4: All my 20s in Vegas from the time I was
- 2:37Speaker 4: about 21, I dropped out of law school, moved to
- 2:39Speaker 4: Vegas to pursue a career in real estate.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Market was booming, was making great money. Market crashed.
- 2:45Speaker 4: And I came back home with my tail between my legs,
- 2:48Speaker 4: like thinking, OK, what the hell am I going to
- 2:50Speaker 4: do with my life now?
- 2:50Speaker 3: You know, like the real estate market's dead.
- 2:54Speaker 4: But I had saved up just enough money where I
- 2:57Speaker 4: could survive, but I wasn't thriving. And I convinced my
- 3:01Speaker 4: middle brother, who was a dentist, to move in with me.
- 3:06Speaker 4: and I found us a house in the Hollywood Hills
- 3:07Speaker 4: because I wasn't going to move back with my parents, right?
- 3:09Speaker 3: So I have a house in the Hollywood Hills.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I'm driving home one day, and on the side of
- 3:14Speaker 4: the road is this guy Sammy, Big Sam from season
- 3:18Speaker 4: one of Shots of Sunset.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Standing on the side of the road, and I've known
- 3:21Speaker 3: this guy for years. You know, we partied together, you know,
- 3:25Speaker 3: got nuts, girls, all this type of shit.
- 3:28Speaker 4: He's a really fun guy. But one thing I knew
- 3:31Speaker 4: about Sammy was that he talks a lot. So if
- 3:34Speaker 4: you were going to speak with him, it's going to
- 3:35Speaker 4: be an hour conversation because he has so much to
- 3:38Speaker 4: say all the time. So I saw him and I
- 3:40Speaker 4: thought he didn't see me because I zipped by and
- 3:43Speaker 4: he starts yelling my name, Mike, Mike.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I was going to ignore him. Then he calls me.
- 3:49Speaker 3: He's like, come back. I need to talk to you.
- 3:50Speaker 4: And I drive back down and he's like, Hey man,
- 3:53Speaker 4: we're filming this new reality show. They don't have a
- 3:56Speaker 4: name for it yet, but it's about Persians in LA
- 3:58Speaker 4: and you'd be perfect for it.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And I'm like, Oh, hell no.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I heard about this. So-and-so is going to be on it.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I want nothing to do with it. I want to
- 4:07Speaker 4: be anonymous. He took it upon himself to give the
- 4:11Speaker 4: producers my phone number anyways. So this kid, Jesse, who
- 4:15Speaker 4: was the creator of the show, who worked for Ryan Seacrest,
- 4:18Speaker 4: kept bugging me, called me about 15 times. And every
- 4:20Speaker 4: time I said to him, I don't want to do it.
- 4:23Speaker 4: And then finally, Ryan Seacrest reaches out to me and says, hey, Mike,
- 4:26Speaker 4: I heard you're a stud and you're good looking. And
- 4:28Speaker 4: he's charming me. And I'm like, oh, wow, this is
- 4:30Speaker 4: Ryan Seacrest telling me all these things. I just came
- 4:34Speaker 4: back from a very fulfilled career where I'd lost everything.
- 4:38Speaker 4: And this guy's complimenting me. He kind of like baited me.
- 4:43Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, I'll sit down with you.
- 4:45Speaker 4: And we sat down and he talked to me about
- 4:46Speaker 4: the Kardashians and all this other shit that was happening.
- 4:49Speaker 4: And I was like, all right, this is, wow, this
- 4:51Speaker 4: is my second wind of life. This is where my
- 4:53Speaker 4: opportunity is going to come from.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Your second act.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 3: So, okay, let's give it a shot.
- 4:58Speaker 4: And before I know it, I'm in some house in
- 5:01Speaker 4: Studio City in a backyard with a bunch of people,
- 5:06Speaker 4: some who I had known but not really close with,
- 5:09Speaker 4: and a lot of strangers, all Iranian.
- 5:12Speaker 3: And they just.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Interviewed me, and we created this little sizzle that they
- 5:17Speaker 4: wanted to show the producers of the show to see
- 5:21Speaker 4: if we're right for this new show that they're going
- 5:25Speaker 4: to be producing.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So the people that they picked for the sizzle reel,
- 5:29Speaker 1: was that the people that ended up being on the
- 5:32Speaker 1: actual show?
- 5:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 4: So it started with like, man, there was like 20
- 5:39Speaker 4: people there that night. And then from that 20, you know,
- 5:45Speaker 4: after we were done, we left. Then they brought us
- 5:48Speaker 4: back together and it was a dwindled down group of people.
- 5:51Speaker 4: And then it got dwindled down more. And then we
- 5:53Speaker 4: filmed the show. And then once we filmed the show,
- 5:56Speaker 4: they gave us six episodes. From the six episodes, they
- 5:59Speaker 4: picked who was on the first season of the show.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And what was your relationship like with the people that
- 6:06Speaker 1: were the core OGs of Shaws of Sunset?
- 6:10Speaker 3: So Reza is, he just turned 50 in August. Okay.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I am 44 now.
- 6:21Speaker 4: So if people put two and two together, they realize
- 6:24Speaker 4: that we were not in school together.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It's impossible.
- 6:28Speaker 4: But the Iranian community is small, so we knew of
- 6:31Speaker 4: each other. But I was not close with any of
- 6:34Speaker 4: these people, except for Gigi.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I grew up with her.
- 6:36Speaker 4: She was like my little sister. I was best friends
- 6:38Speaker 4: with her sister, Layla. And the rest of us, we
- 6:41Speaker 4: were acquaintances. But when you start filming a show like
- 6:46Speaker 4: we did, where the premise is, hey, you guys are really,
- 6:49Speaker 4: really close, we kind of got the idea like if
- 6:52Speaker 4: we don't give the network what they want, the show
- 6:56Speaker 4: is not going to work because they kept embedding that
- 6:58Speaker 4: into our brains. Hey, these checks don't come cheap. You
- 7:02Speaker 4: guys have to listen to us. We know what we're doing.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Just follow what we're telling you and we're going to
- 7:07Speaker 4: lead you to the path for success. So obviously after
- 7:11Speaker 4: spending hours and hours and hours and hours together weekly
- 7:15Speaker 4: as we filmed the show, we got close, right? So
- 7:20Speaker 4: it was like high school. You create little cliques, and
- 7:23Speaker 4: then within those cliques, there's other cliques. And we became
- 7:27Speaker 4: close because it was like, wow, look what we're doing
- 7:29Speaker 4: for the culture. We are creating a show about Iranians
- 7:33Speaker 4: where once upon a time growing up, I would hide
- 7:35Speaker 4: that I was Persian, right? I would tell people, no,
- 7:38Speaker 4: I'm Mexican, I'm Italian. If I met a girl, I
- 7:40Speaker 4: was like, yeah, I'm Italian.
- 7:40Speaker 3: They're like, your last name is Shohead. Like, what is... No,
- 7:43Speaker 3: it's Shohead.
- 7:44Speaker 4: You know, make up shit just to like pretend to
- 7:46Speaker 4: play the role because... Being Iranian wasn't cool. And when
- 7:50Speaker 4: we started filming, the production crew was so excited. Like, dude,
- 7:54Speaker 4: your culture is amazing. The food, the music, the culture.
- 7:59Speaker 4: So I was like, wow. It gave me a new
- 8:03Speaker 4: perspective on what people thought. So I became proud of
- 8:06Speaker 4: the show. So I wanted to create something that the
- 8:09Speaker 4: world would find to be interesting and creative, but also
- 8:13Speaker 4: full of drama and sexiness and all this other shit
- 8:15Speaker 4: so that we create something that will... survive in this
- 8:19Speaker 4: world of television where you have so many different, um,
- 8:25Speaker 4: so many different, um, options.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I wanted people to watch our show.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So when you guys weren't filming, how often were you
- 8:37Speaker 1: actually choosing to spend.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Time with each other?
- 8:38Speaker 1: I mean, I've done a couple of reality shows in
- 8:41Speaker 1: the past and I found that when I'm on a show,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I get so immersed with the people I'm with. I,
- 8:47Speaker 1: after three weeks, you feel like they're family. Like I
- 8:49Speaker 1: was spending all my time with them, even when we
- 8:51Speaker 1: weren't shooting. Is that what happened with you guys?
- 8:53Speaker 4: So, yeah, I'm trying to take my back to see,
- 8:55Speaker 4: I'm trying to take myself back to season one because,
- 8:57Speaker 4: you know, after, after 10 years of, of all the
- 9:00Speaker 4: shit I've been through with them, I'm a little jaded,
- 9:03Speaker 4: but in the beginning it was incredible. Like Reza was
- 9:06Speaker 4: like my big bro, you know? Um, him being gay,
- 9:11Speaker 4: being Iranian, being Jewish and half Muslim. So he just,
- 9:14Speaker 4: he understood so many facets of life because he had
- 9:17Speaker 4: dealt with so much that I had this respect for
- 9:19Speaker 4: him because he was out, he was proud, he was successful,
- 9:22Speaker 4: he was flamboyant, he dressed well. So like I became super,
- 9:26Speaker 4: super tight with him. And I remember like in the beginning,
- 9:30Speaker 4: they gave us, you know, it was a part of
- 9:31Speaker 4: a group chat. So all of us were texting each
- 9:33Speaker 4: other and mj before she met me would like she'd
- 9:37Speaker 4: call me like hey mike with like a little sexy
- 9:40Speaker 4: voice and like flirting with me and like why like
- 9:42Speaker 4: you know like kind of we were flirting with each
- 9:46Speaker 4: other like we were gonna hook up you know it
- 9:47Speaker 4: was weird um and then you know me and gg
- 9:50Speaker 4: obviously she we we had our our our relationship and
- 9:55Speaker 4: we're friends and i i knew her since she was
- 9:57Speaker 4: a little girl And obviously me and Sammy, you know,
- 10:00Speaker 4: he would make fun of me. He's like, you see,
- 10:02Speaker 4: and you didn't want to be a part of the show.
- 10:03Speaker 4: And now look, you're going to get so many girls
- 10:05Speaker 4: and you're going to make money. And, you know, he
- 10:06Speaker 4: always had his chip on his shoulder about that. And
- 10:09Speaker 4: we would joke about that, but we all became very
- 10:10Speaker 4: close because like I said, we were filming for 10, 15,
- 10:14Speaker 4: 20 hours, sometimes a day.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Weeks on end, Wednesday through Sunday, every week for months,
- 10:25Speaker 4: you meet most of these people because you spend the
- 10:28Speaker 4: majority of your time with them. I spent more time
- 10:29Speaker 4: with them than I did with my own family. And.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Like, brothers and sisters.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And, like, during this time, did you decide to keep
- 10:38Speaker 1: your day job, or were you trying to establish who
- 10:40Speaker 1: you were as a real person in L.A. once you
- 10:43Speaker 1: were there, or you kind of let that go and
- 10:45Speaker 1: just did the show?
- 10:47Speaker 3: No. I mean, the first season, we made, like, I think....
- 10:53Speaker 4: Like three, like 3000 an episode or something, you know,
- 10:55Speaker 4: you know, like nothing. Um, I was just going to
- 10:58Speaker 4: live off that. Um, I'd be like poverty, you know?
- 11:02Speaker 4: So I was still working, selling real estate, hustling, doing
- 11:05Speaker 4: what I could. And at the same time, you know, um,
- 11:10Speaker 4: being a rock star by, by midweek till the, till
- 11:14Speaker 4: the weekend, because it was like no sleep drinking drama,
- 11:20Speaker 4: you know, creating great storylines, you know, based on, I
- 11:24Speaker 4: don't want to say it was lies or lives on
- 11:27Speaker 4: the show, but no one's life is really that exciting
- 11:30Speaker 4: all the time.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It's not, I don't know anyone that's always doing something.
- 11:34Speaker 4: And they had us going on excursions and hanging out
- 11:37Speaker 4: and dinners and staying up all night and then going
- 11:39Speaker 4: back to filming the early in the morning.
- 11:41Speaker 3: So I was trying to.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Balance both lives, but yeah, it was, it was hard,
- 11:44Speaker 4: but no, I definitely had to do more in order
- 11:46Speaker 4: to survive, especially in LA, living in a house in
- 11:49Speaker 4: the Hollywood Hills. It's not cheap.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And at the beginning, was it helping your career that
- 11:54Speaker 1: all of a sudden this show was taking off and
- 11:56Speaker 1: everyone knew your name and knew your face? Was that
- 11:59Speaker 1: helpful for real estate?
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it was actually. It helped with recognition, right? But
- 12:08Speaker 4: the way they portrayed me season one was, you know,
- 12:11Speaker 4: Mike lost it all and he's the underdog and he's
- 12:14Speaker 4: coming back, which I guess was truth.
- 12:17Speaker 3: But then like people....
- 12:21Speaker 4: They made some of the people in the show look
- 12:23Speaker 4: more opulent and like they had more money. And those people,
- 12:26Speaker 4: some of them really knew how to play into that.
- 12:29Speaker 4: And I was just like, yo, I'm just me. I'm,
- 12:31Speaker 4: you know, I had it, I lost it, but I'm
- 12:33Speaker 4: making it again, but I didn't lose everything. So it
- 12:35Speaker 4: was like, I didn't understand it because I didn't watch
- 12:36Speaker 4: any reality TV. And my crew of friends that were
- 12:40Speaker 4: on the show with me would be like, you don't
- 12:41Speaker 4: understand how this reality show thing works.
- 12:43Speaker 3: You're not doing it right.
- 12:46Speaker 2: What do you think that meant to you?
- 12:49Speaker 4: They wanted me to be a student of reality TV.
- 12:53Speaker 4: So you have to bring the drama, when to turn
- 12:55Speaker 4: it up, when to turn it down. And with me,
- 12:57Speaker 4: I'm a Libra. I'm typically very calm. I like to
- 13:01Speaker 4: be even keel. I like harmony. You know, I would
- 13:06Speaker 4: always get reprimanded when, when the cameras were off, like,
- 13:08Speaker 4: Hey man, you're not.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Being dramatic enough. Right. Stop the act.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I'm like, what act? You don't even know me. Like we,
- 13:15Speaker 4: we became friends, real close friends just recently. You don't
- 13:19Speaker 4: know who I am. I'm not a confrontational human being.
- 13:23Speaker 4: So then I started to realize, because I kept getting told,
- 13:27Speaker 4: if you don't bring the drama, you're not going to
- 13:30Speaker 4: make it.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Right. You're only as good as the camera time you get. Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I get it.
- 13:35Speaker 1: That's true in some ways. So, I mean, I have
- 13:39Speaker 1: so many questions surrounding that though, like, because I, you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: in preparation for seeing you, I looked at a lot
- 13:45Speaker 1: of clips over the arc of all the seasons and
- 13:49Speaker 1: how you were, how you were portrayed, how, you know,
- 13:54Speaker 1: by the way, you know, I really noticed that everyone
- 13:56Speaker 1: has their moments of anger, a lot of moments of
- 14:00Speaker 1: Anger and passion. There's a lot of that going on
- 14:02Speaker 1: throughout all the seasons with different people, right? And a
- 14:06Speaker 1: lot of it has to do with friendships that, you know,
- 14:09Speaker 1: people seem really upset that their friendships are being betrayed
- 14:14Speaker 1: and that the trust is being betrayed, the boundaries are
- 14:17Speaker 1: being betrayed. And for you, what I saw is that
- 14:20Speaker 1: a lot of times you were the peacemaker for, you know,
- 14:24Speaker 1: at least the beginning of it. You really struck me
- 14:26Speaker 1: as the person that would get involved to try and
- 14:28Speaker 1: calm everyone down.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Down.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So as we get to sort of the end of
- 14:34Speaker 1: the show, you know, to have you be the one
- 14:37Speaker 1: that got into trouble legally seemed, you know, interesting, shocking.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I don't know what the word would be to me
- 14:44Speaker 1: because I didn't see that in you.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Like anyone else you would bring up, I'd be like, yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I get it. But I didn't know that I saw
- 14:52Speaker 1: that in you, even though you were portrayed in a
- 14:56Speaker 1: number of different ways. And we'll get to that in
- 14:58Speaker 1: a I guess what I want to talk to you
- 15:00Speaker 1: about is how do you feel like the show portrayed you?
- 15:04Speaker 1: And in what ways do you think you fed into that?
- 15:06Speaker 1: And in what ways you tried to really give your
- 15:08Speaker 1: own narrative?
- 15:09Speaker 2: This blew my mind when I found out.
- 15:11Speaker 1: But did you know that over 80% of people have
- 15:13Speaker 1: subscriptions they've forgotten about? Seriously, think of how many free
- 15:17Speaker 1: trials you subscribe to that you've probably never canceled. That's
- 15:20Speaker 1: why I'm such a big fan of Rocket Money. So
- 15:23Speaker 1: for me, I signed up. It took less than three minutes.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I put my information in. And out spouted all this stuff.
- 15:31Speaker 2: That I had no idea about.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I had no idea that in the course of a year,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I actually, and you guys, this is a true story,
- 15:37Speaker 1: spent over $ 6, 000 on subscriptions. It gave me a full list.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It told me all the things that I was spending
- 15:44Speaker 1: it on. And I could tell from there what I
- 15:46Speaker 1: wanted to get rid of, what I didn't know existed.
- 15:49Speaker 1: And then the cool thing is they help you cancel
- 15:51Speaker 1: these subscriptions. Not only that, I could see how much
- 15:54Speaker 1: I was spending in different categories, health and wellness, food
- 15:58Speaker 1: and beverages. I was surprised to see how much my daughter,
- 16:03Speaker 1: Wyatt Lilly, was spending at Starbucks every month.
- 16:06Speaker 2: It's a huge amount.
- 16:07Speaker 1: So I'm going to be having a conversation with her
- 16:10Speaker 1: about that. With Rocket Money, you can easily cancel the
- 16:13Speaker 1: subscriptions you don't want with just the press of a button.
- 16:17Speaker 1: No more long hold times or annoying emails with customer service.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Rocket Money does all the work for you. And I

- 16:35Speaker 1: slash understood. That's rocketmoney.com slash understood. rocketmoney.com slash understood.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Um, so in the beginning they allowed me to, you know,
- 16:51Speaker 4: because they're trying to feel us out.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Right. And, um, They invested in us. So they knew
- 16:59Speaker 3: that they could, in.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Ways, manipulate us to do what they want. Because once
- 17:09Speaker 4: the money started to get good, and you wanted that
- 17:13Speaker 4: money to keep rolling in, all of a sudden.
- 17:16Speaker 6: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 17:21Speaker 6: know about the drawer.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The drawer.
- 17:23Speaker 6: The drawer. Just the one square before bed. Or two,
- 17:30Speaker 6: you know. Nobody's watching. You deserve a treat. With eight
- 17:37Speaker 6: flavours to choose from, you can choose the flavour you
- 17:40Speaker 6: favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 17:48Speaker 3: The producer who.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Was smiling and pulling you aside and talking to you
- 17:54Speaker 4: their words became more like Bible, you know, like, man,
- 17:58Speaker 4: I got to listen to this person. Oh, this person
- 18:00Speaker 4: has a pedigree where they did X, Y, and Z show.
- 18:03Speaker 4: And they did those shows into huge franchises.
- 18:06Speaker 3: That person obviously wants the best for our show. I
- 18:09Speaker 3: should listen to them. Yeah. And then I started to lose.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Sight of who I really was because A, I was
- 18:16Speaker 4: listening to them. The cast of the show started to
- 18:20Speaker 4: self-produce and create more drama.
- 18:22Speaker 3: And So I started to see them for who they
- 18:25Speaker 3: really were. Mm-hmm.
- 18:28Speaker 4: And then it just started to create animosity between me
- 18:32Speaker 4: and them. In the beginning, I really wanted everyone to
- 18:35Speaker 4: be peaceful and have fun. And I was like, what
- 18:37Speaker 4: are you guys doing? You know, this is crazy. And
- 18:41Speaker 4: I didn't want our show to be like that. Like
- 18:44Speaker 4: I told you, I wanted to represent our culture. Mm-hmm.
- 18:48Speaker 4: And after season one, everyone would be like, yo man,
- 18:50Speaker 4: you're the, you know, you're my favorite on the show.
- 18:52Speaker 4: You're the only one that I watched that actually is normal.
- 18:55Speaker 4: And I was like, no, man, the rest of them
- 18:56Speaker 4: are normal. They just, you know, they just act up
- 18:57Speaker 4: for the show because I wanted to protect them.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:01Speaker 4: And they really weren't as crazy as they were coming
- 19:03Speaker 4: across on the show. But as time progresses and these
- 19:10Speaker 4: people who you become close with, like families start to
- 19:13Speaker 4: betray you and attack you and attack your character and,
- 19:17Speaker 4: do things behind your back to create drama, you start
- 19:21Speaker 4: to get bitter with them. And then you're forced to
- 19:25Speaker 4: still hang out with them and grieve your differences.
- 19:28Speaker 3: In front of a camera.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Yeah. Because if you don't tell your story, they will.
- 19:33Speaker 4: And these group of nerd editors that sit in an
- 19:37Speaker 4: editing bay for hours and hours and hours and hours
- 19:39Speaker 4: a day, like watching you, they're getting notes from the
- 19:42Speaker 4: network saying, hey, no. Do that scene again, but I
- 19:48Speaker 4: want them to look this way. i want mike to
- 19:51Speaker 4: look this way i want gg to look this way
- 19:52Speaker 4: so like gg in the beginning looked like a wife
- 19:57Speaker 4: a knife wielding insane person right and then towards the
- 20:01Speaker 4: end they're like okay that's not working anymore we need
- 20:04Speaker 4: to change her up a bit so she became the
- 20:06Speaker 4: wusa calm mother Right?
- 20:10Speaker 2: I'm just curious though, who was she in reality?
- 20:15Speaker 4: She had those tendencies, obviously, but it wasn't like she
- 20:18Speaker 4: was always like pulling knives on people.
- 20:22Speaker 3: If you knew Gigi, she was a very.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Sweet, loving, kind person who was very soft on the inside,
- 20:29Speaker 4: like a coconut.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Soft on the inside, just had a hard iron shell
- 20:32Speaker 3: because she just didn't want to get hurt.
- 20:35Speaker 4: But they exploit whatever they want about you. And then
- 20:40Speaker 4: God bless our, our fans. They would take whatever they
- 20:44Speaker 4: saw as reality. And they didn't think like, yeah, maybe
- 20:48Speaker 4: he's not that way. And here's the funniest part. I'll
- 20:53Speaker 4: meet people, Jim on the street, wherever nine out of
- 20:57Speaker 4: 10 times, people will be like, man, I really thought
- 21:00Speaker 4: you were an asshole. And then I got to talk
- 21:02Speaker 4: to you and you're standing here and you spent 15
- 21:04Speaker 4: minutes talking to me.
- 21:06Speaker 3: And I've, express all these things that are going on
- 21:08Speaker 3: in my life. And you've, you've, you've given me insight.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You've given me, you've given me a, like an ear.
- 21:13Speaker 3: You're really a nice guy.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Like, yeah, I don't, I don't know why you got
- 21:17Speaker 4: the idea that I'm an asshole, but I get that
- 21:20Speaker 4: all the time. And then I realized, damn, these, this,
- 21:24Speaker 4: this thing, this project that I was part of really
- 21:27Speaker 4: did a great job of making me look.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Like something I wasn't.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So I want to talk to you about that concept because,
- 21:34Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people say, you know, reality
- 21:37Speaker 1: TV makes you look like.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Someone you aren't.
- 21:41Speaker 1: And they can, you know, edit you to look a
- 21:43Speaker 1: certain way, even though you behave a different way.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Do you agree with that?
- 21:51Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:52Speaker 4: So I want to be fair. I don't want to
- 21:54Speaker 4: be a victim in all of this. Do I have
- 21:57Speaker 4: anger in me?
- 21:58Speaker 3: Of course I do. right? It takes a lot for
- 22:01Speaker 3: it to come out.
- 22:02Speaker 4: I don't walk around angry. I walk around smiling. I
- 22:05Speaker 4: walk around happy. I'm very optimistic, but you know, there's
- 22:13Speaker 4: times where I get upset, you know, and, and when
- 22:15Speaker 4: people spend that much time with you, they know exactly
- 22:19Speaker 4: what buttons to push to trigger you, you know? And
- 22:24Speaker 4: it wasn't necessarily things they did to me. Like one season,
- 22:28Speaker 4: you know, Reza went after MJ and you know, I,
- 22:32Speaker 4: I took that, I took their beef and made it
- 22:35Speaker 4: my beef because I didn't like the way Reza was
- 22:38Speaker 4: handling that situation.
- 22:40Speaker 3: No money in the world should make you say certain
- 22:42Speaker 3: things about people.
- 22:44Speaker 4: It'll never go away. And, and I even posted about
- 22:47Speaker 4: that today. Be careful what you tell people because it'll
- 22:50Speaker 4: play in their minds forever. And this might've been a
- 22:54Speaker 4: moment of anger because, in your life where you said
- 22:56Speaker 4: something that you didn't mean, but that person.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Will carry that with them for the rest of their life.
- 23:01Speaker 4: So I really come from a place of, I try
- 23:03Speaker 4: to come from a place of love and kindness, but
- 23:06Speaker 4: you know, there was times that I blew up on
- 23:07Speaker 4: the show and they exploited that shit. And Oh, Mike
- 23:10Speaker 4: has anger problems. And Mike said this and that. So yes,
- 23:13Speaker 4: they do a good job of, of making you look
- 23:17Speaker 4: like something you're not because they take something very small
- 23:20Speaker 4: and they blow it up and continue to play it
- 23:22Speaker 4: and then continue to revert back to it. And, you know,
- 23:26Speaker 4: it just keeps playing over and over again throughout the
- 23:27Speaker 4: entire season because that one clip, if it got a
- 23:30Speaker 4: lot of clicks or a lot of viewers, they're like, okay,
- 23:33Speaker 4: that's the one. We got to go play it back.
- 23:34Speaker 4: And throughout the season, they keep editing. So the show
- 23:38Speaker 4: is not formatted and then it comes out. It's formatted
- 23:41Speaker 4: and then they make tweaks.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And that's important for people to realize. There is a
- 23:48Speaker 1: narrative that is created. So you may have some anger
- 23:51Speaker 1: in you, which, by the way, a lot of people do.
- 23:54Speaker 1: They're passionate, right, about certain things.
- 23:56Speaker 3: And we're passionate people.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 2: In certain situations.
- 24:01Speaker 1: But they may leave out the part where you're rescuing
- 24:04Speaker 1: dogs on the street and you're helping old women cross
- 24:07Speaker 1: the road or whatever it is.
- 24:09Speaker 2: They may just.
- 24:11Speaker 1: you know, create this narrative that fits for your character. Also,
- 24:15Speaker 1: you had some issues with being loyal with the women
- 24:18Speaker 1: you were with, right? So of course they, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: that is your issue, right? That you're dealing with. But
- 24:25Speaker 1: I think that in a reality show, they put the
- 24:29Speaker 1: spotlight on stuff like that. And if it's something that's
- 24:31Speaker 1: a pattern, you really get stuck with those stigmas because
- 24:36Speaker 1: those are the things that people, it stands out with
- 24:38Speaker 1: people as opposed to the arc of someone And, you know,
- 24:41Speaker 1: as a person, when you meet someone in real life
- 24:44Speaker 1: and you get to know them, you see the entire
- 24:46Speaker 1: gamut of who that person is.
- 24:47Speaker 2: You see everything.
- 24:48Speaker 1: But just in a reality show, you just see little
- 24:51Speaker 1: snippets and that's what creates a narrative. And I think
- 24:53Speaker 1: that can be what's really dangerous because then people think
- 24:57Speaker 1: they know you based on the smoke and mirrors of
- 25:00Speaker 1: what is a narrow vision of reality TV.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Do you agree with that?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 25:05Speaker 4: I couldn't have said it better, you know, and I
- 25:07Speaker 4: did have. infidelity issues. You know, I, um, you know,
- 25:12Speaker 4: I went through two real relationships on the show, my
- 25:15Speaker 4: ex-wife who we had, we cared about each other. We
- 25:21Speaker 4: loved each other, but we weren't in love with each other.
- 25:23Speaker 4: And we, um, got married even though we knew we shouldn't.
- 25:28Speaker 4: And we try to make it work because to keep
- 25:31Speaker 4: face for people. And, um, when you're not in a
- 25:35Speaker 4: happy relationship, people do things. She did things that I
- 25:39Speaker 4: didn't air out because I try to protect her. Now,
- 25:41Speaker 4: looking back, I should have brought it up.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Um, but she did a great job of showing the world,
- 25:46Speaker 4: you know, where she ended up and what she ended
- 25:47Speaker 4: up doing. And, you know, um, my, my laundry was
- 25:51Speaker 4: aired out on the show. Hers wasn't, um, she's an
- 25:53Speaker 4: amazing person. We're, we're, we're friends to this day. And, um,
- 25:59Speaker 4: thank God, both of our paths ended up in a
- 26:01Speaker 4: happy place. She's happy. She's moved on and she's.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Doing her thing.
- 26:05Speaker 4: And then with Paulina, uh, That was just, again, so stupid.
- 26:10Speaker 4: I feel horrible about it. A lapse in judgment where
- 26:15Speaker 4: for one day in the middle of COVID, having text
- 26:21Speaker 4: conversations with someone who I'd never met, who I met
- 26:23Speaker 4: on Instagram, who started off by like, hey, your story
- 26:26Speaker 4: really resonated with me. I'm going through a divorce. can
- 26:30Speaker 4: I please ask your opinion? And she was a pretty girl.
- 26:32Speaker 4: And I was like, you know, okay.
- 26:33Speaker 3: And then it went from that to baiting me and
- 26:35Speaker 3: talking about stuff. And then by the end of.
- 26:37Speaker 4: The day, just 12 hours of talking, you know, throughout
- 26:41Speaker 4: those 12 hours, um, I was like, Whoa, what am
- 26:43Speaker 4: I doing? I'm going to get myself in trouble. And
- 26:45Speaker 4: I did, it was just stupid. And it got blown
- 26:50Speaker 4: out of proportion. And, um, you know, hindsight is 2020
- 26:54Speaker 4: when you're in the fame, and you have these beautiful
- 26:58Speaker 4: women who want your attention and you're trying to be good.
- 27:02Speaker 4: The devil in me got the best of me and
- 27:04Speaker 4: I fucked up and I feel guilty about it to
- 27:09Speaker 4: this day. And I realized that I hurt Paulina. I
- 27:12Speaker 4: hurt myself. I hurt our families. I wish I can
- 27:15Speaker 4: go back in time and fix it. But I realized that,
- 27:19Speaker 4: and I'll tell you the truth and be very transparent
- 27:21Speaker 4: with you. I did not like myself while I was
- 27:24Speaker 4: on the show. I became a human being that, resented
- 27:29Speaker 4: the show, resented the cast. I resented myself. I hated
- 27:34Speaker 4: Ryan Seacrest. I hated Bravo. It was just when they
- 27:37Speaker 4: were like, we're coming back for another season. It was like,
- 27:40Speaker 4: Oh man, I had anxiety. Cause I was like, fuck,
- 27:43Speaker 4: I have to film with these people again for another three,
- 27:45Speaker 4: four months. What are they going to bring up? How
- 27:48Speaker 4: are they going to try to destroy my life this season?
- 27:51Speaker 4: How am I going to have to retaliate? And then okay,
- 27:54Speaker 4: I got to get a new car. Okay. I got
- 27:56Speaker 4: to get a new place. I got to get new clothes.
- 27:58Speaker 4: It was just, it was this thing that I truly
- 28:03Speaker 4: did not like anymore. And if you, if you look
- 28:06Speaker 4: at me now, like I weigh 190 pounds, I'm fit.
- 28:09Speaker 3: I'm more ripped than I've ever been mentally. I'm more
- 28:12Speaker 3: strong than I've ever been. I read, I journal, I pray.
- 28:16Speaker 3: I go to temple. I'm happy.
- 28:19Speaker 4: I love myself. And when I was filming, I was fat.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Miserable.
- 28:25Speaker 4: I ate like shit. I didn't work out. I didn't
- 28:27Speaker 4: take care of myself. It was just, I was just miserable.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I would, you know, Pauline would tell me when you're sleeping,
- 28:33Speaker 4: I would twitch because I was so nervous because I just,
- 28:37Speaker 4: my anxiety was through the roof because I got to
- 28:40Speaker 4: a point where this project that I really loved and
- 28:43Speaker 4: was so fun became a nuisance in my life. So
- 28:50Speaker 4: for the past several seasons, it's been like that.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 28:54Speaker 4: When the show ended and I'm sorry to cut to it,
- 28:56Speaker 4: but like when the show ended, I was so happy.
- 28:58Speaker 4: I was laughing with the producers on the phone. I
- 29:00Speaker 4: was like, thank God. They're like, Mike, did you hear
- 29:03Speaker 4: what we just told you? The show has been canceled.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I was like, yes, thank you.
- 29:08Speaker 3: They go. And the producers are one producer.
- 29:11Speaker 4: She's she's like, wow, you're taking this a lot better
- 29:14Speaker 4: than the rest of them did.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Some of them actually cried. This was a life. I
- 29:19Speaker 3: wasn't my life. This was not, this was just a project. And,
- 29:24Speaker 3: I was checked out years ago.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:27Speaker 1: So I want to talk about that for a second
- 29:29Speaker 1: because there are a lot of rumors that Shaz of
- 29:31Speaker 1: Sunset ended because of what happened with you outside of
- 29:35Speaker 1: the show with Paulina and you getting arrested.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Do you want to talk on that? subject?
- 29:40Speaker 3: Sure, absolutely. I wish I was more... I wish I
- 29:46Speaker 3: was more prepared because I would have pulled up the
- 29:48Speaker 3: email and shown you. When they called... Actually, they emailed us.
- 29:56Speaker 3: And here's what was happening.
- 29:57Speaker 4: So they were casting new people for the show uh
- 30:02Speaker 4: prior to season 10 and we thought season 10 was
- 30:04Speaker 4: gonna be our last season we're all you know talking
- 30:07Speaker 4: about and what are we gonna do it's got to
- 30:08Speaker 4: be the biggest season and you know like we're all
- 30:10Speaker 4: plotting and planning and you know all that shit and
- 30:13Speaker 4: um they would keep giving us updates okay we're gonna
- 30:17Speaker 4: do we're doing a casting call and you know be
- 30:19Speaker 4: prepared for this day and they would they would send
- 30:22Speaker 4: us emails telling us to prepare for.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Whatever the new season.
- 30:25Speaker 4: And, you know, all the ducks have to be in
- 30:27Speaker 4: a row for the season to go off without a hitch.
- 30:30Speaker 4: We have to, you know, if you're renting, you have
- 30:32Speaker 4: to get your landlord to say it's okay to film there.
- 30:34Speaker 4: They want to get locations. They want to get releases
- 30:36Speaker 4: from all of our family members and all that stuff.
- 30:38Speaker 4: So we were preparing for this next season. And then
- 30:41Speaker 4: there was.
- 30:43Speaker 3: A huge lull where they didn't reach out to us
- 30:45Speaker 3: for like a few months.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And, um, I remember Reza was very anxious because he's like, man,
- 30:51Speaker 4: I don't think we're coming back.
- 30:52Speaker 3: They're just going to drop us like that. This is crazy.
- 30:55Speaker 4: And lo and behold, one day we get the call. Hey,
- 31:00Speaker 4: we need to do a Zoom call with the entire cast.
- 31:03Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, cool. This is it. Like, okay, fuck.
- 31:05Speaker 3: We're coming back for another season.
- 31:07Speaker 4: And in the email that they sent out, there was
- 31:13Speaker 4: four names.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Actually, let me see. It was Reza- MJ, Gigi on
- 31:19Speaker 3: one call. Okay, one Zoom call. And then Mike, Nima, Destiny,
- 31:25Speaker 3: Shervin on another call.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Okay?
- 31:29Speaker 4: So basically what they did was they were going to
- 31:32Speaker 4: give MJ, Gigi, and Reza a spinoff.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Kind of like Three's Company vibe.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Where he's the godfather of their two children and they're
- 31:42Speaker 4: going to do a spinoff and the rest of us
- 31:44Speaker 4: were getting clipped from the show. OK, which is my thought,
- 31:49Speaker 4: because I was like, why would they split it up?
- 31:51Speaker 4: This is not this is not normal.
- 31:54Speaker 3: I had a feeling.
- 31:55Speaker 4: And, you know, they called and that was it. They're like, hey, Mike,
- 31:58Speaker 4: we're sorry to break the news to you guys. But,
- 31:59Speaker 4: you know, the show is ending. It's just getting way
- 32:01Speaker 4: too expensive to film.
- 32:02Speaker 3: You guys, the show.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Is unionized and, you know, Ryan has to get his
- 32:06Speaker 4: cut and you guys are demanding too much money.
- 32:09Speaker 3: And it just doesn't make sense for us.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And sorry, at that point, how were the ratings? I mean,
- 32:14Speaker 1: was it still doing well or was it really falling off?
- 32:17Speaker 4: Yeah, ratings were great. But understand, cable television is a
- 32:21Speaker 4: dinosaur now, right? You have Netflix and Hulu and all
- 32:25Speaker 4: these other streaming networks where you could watch anything you
- 32:29Speaker 4: want at any given time. And then finally, these morons
- 32:33Speaker 4: at Bravo were like, oh, shit. Netflix is at 100 million,
- 32:38Speaker 4: a billion, whatever they're at. Maybe we should do something
- 32:41Speaker 4: like that. And then they finally rolled out Peacock. But then, dude,
- 32:47Speaker 4: you're late to the party, dude. It's already happened. People
- 32:51Speaker 4: already have their subscriptions. And now you guys want to
- 32:54Speaker 4: do Peacock? So they just missed the boat. And they realized,
- 33:03Speaker 4: if you watch these new shows that Bravo's come out with,
- 33:06Speaker 4: The formula that we created as a group of Iranians
- 33:10Speaker 4: and with Ryan and his production team, they just rinse
- 33:15Speaker 4: and repeated what we did with that Karma show and
- 33:20Speaker 4: other shows that they created.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Some flop, some don't, and it's cheap for.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Them because it goes back to paying their talent $ 3, 000
- 33:28Speaker 4: an episode instead of $ 50, 000 an episode.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Right. Rather take a chance on a $ 3, 000 show, and
- 33:33Speaker 3: if it flops, whatever, and if it does great, great.
- 33:36Speaker 4: We have that for a few seasons until they get
- 33:38Speaker 4: too big, then we'll clip them, and then we'll do
- 33:41Speaker 4: the next show. And that's why you're seeing shows like
- 33:44Speaker 4: Million Dollar List in New York that is really not
- 33:47Speaker 4: expensive to make because they're filming at... people's properties they're
- 33:53Speaker 4: not really doing anything they're just following them around but
- 33:56Speaker 4: the shows get clipped because these guys are like well
- 33:59Speaker 4: you guys are making money off the show we want
- 34:00Speaker 4: more money and it just doesn't make sense for them
- 34:03Speaker 4: financially so they they clip the show and that's.
- 34:06Speaker 2: What happened with us okay so.
- 34:09Speaker 6: They think you're done for the day but they don't
- 34:12Speaker 6: know about the drawer the drawer just the one square
- 34:17Speaker 6: before bed or two you know Nobody's watching. You deserve
- 34:24Speaker 6: a treat. With eight flavors to choose from, you can
- 34:30Speaker 6: choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 34:40Speaker 1: You four got the call saying it was over. What
- 34:43Speaker 1: was the call for the other three?
- 34:45Speaker 3: That they were going to get a spinoff, like I
- 34:46Speaker 3: told you.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Then they started filming.
- 34:50Speaker 2: And they did, they got that far with filming.
- 34:53Speaker 4: They filmed a sizzle or did some, some stuff. And
- 34:56Speaker 4: I was so happy for them. And they called me like,
- 34:58Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Mike, like we wanted you to be a
- 35:00Speaker 4: part of this.
- 35:01Speaker 3: No. I remember MJ called me.
- 35:02Speaker 4: And she was so upset. And Reza too, actually. Reza was,
- 35:06Speaker 4: he was like, dude, I really tried. I was like, no, man,
- 35:07Speaker 4: I don't want to do it.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I'm good. I'm good. I want to get back to
- 35:11Speaker 3: my normal life.
- 35:13Speaker 1: And where was your relationship with the cast, the seven
- 35:16Speaker 1: of you, I guess. So the other six at this point,
- 35:20Speaker 1: like how were you feeling about all of them and
- 35:22Speaker 1: how were your friendships?
- 35:26Speaker 3: I will always love them. Right.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Because they were like my brothers and my sisters and
- 35:33Speaker 4: I truly, truly, truly care about them. But it got
- 35:36Speaker 4: to a point where we didn't like each other. We
- 35:38Speaker 4: were fighting over dumb shit because I could not say, well,
- 35:45Speaker 4: I guess we're just filming a show.
- 35:46Speaker 3: I'll just forgive and forget you.
- 35:48Speaker 4: You know, no, you said some really disgusting stuff about
- 35:51Speaker 4: my mom, my dad, my brothers, my, my, my fiance
- 35:54Speaker 4: at the time, you threatened me. Like, I can't just
- 35:56Speaker 4: forgive that. I don't care if there was a camera
- 35:58Speaker 4: on at your core, it allowed you to say those
- 36:00Speaker 4: things to me. I said horrible things back to you.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:04Speaker 4: I don't want you to forgive me because we're not friends, obviously,
- 36:08Speaker 4: if you would do that to me.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Right.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And that stuff became real. It seems like the words,
- 36:13Speaker 1: the anger. And what was interesting to me is that
- 36:16Speaker 1: it almost seemed like they resented or Gigi or whoever
- 36:20Speaker 1: resented when a new woman would come in your life.
- 36:23Speaker 1: When Paulina came into your life, it was almost like
- 36:24Speaker 1: you had to choose between them and her. And that
- 36:28Speaker 1: seemed to cause a big rift. And who do you
- 36:31Speaker 1: know when you're in the middle like that? That's so hard.
- 36:34Speaker 3: They honestly hated Paulina.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Jessica, when I, when I was dating her and that
- 36:43Speaker 4: poor girl put up with so much, they would, I
- 36:48Speaker 4: would get spoof text messages. They would spoof text message
- 36:52Speaker 4: her like, Hey, I was with your man last night
- 36:55Speaker 4: and you know, blah, blah, blah. I'm dating your man.
- 36:57Speaker 4: And she's like, you know, and I'm like, but I
- 36:59Speaker 4: was with you babe last night. Like we were having
- 37:01Speaker 4: dinner together. And she's like, I know, but who are
- 37:02Speaker 4: these people?
- 37:03Speaker 3: Just, just, I don't know if it.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Was her or the, or the world, because you know,
- 37:07Speaker 4: as a real estate agent, my number's out in the world.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Right. And it's and you know, there's two degrees of separation. Like, hey,
- 37:14Speaker 3: do you know Mike?
- 37:14Speaker 4: Do you have his phone number? Can I get it?
- 37:16Speaker 4: You know, or do you know Jessica? Can I get
- 37:18Speaker 4: her phone number? And it just started to cause this
- 37:22Speaker 4: these issues in our in our lives. And I remember
- 37:24Speaker 4: poor Jessica. I think this was like season three. She's like,
- 37:29Speaker 4: I'm not doing this anymore.
- 37:30Speaker 3: I love you. I care about you.
- 37:33Speaker 4: This show is going to destroy you and it's going
- 37:35Speaker 4: to destroy our relationship.
- 37:36Speaker 3: You choose.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Do you want to do the show or do you
- 37:39Speaker 4: want to be with me? And selfishly at the time,
- 37:42Speaker 4: I'm like, don't make me choose because this is my career.
- 37:48Speaker 4: This is making me money. This is bringing me appearances.
- 37:52Speaker 4: This is helping with my real estate. Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 1: And at that point, it's part of your identity. I mean,
- 37:56Speaker 1: it's how people associate who you are, like it or not.
- 38:00Speaker 4: I mean, I love I became Mike from Shazza Sunset
- 38:03Speaker 4: instead of Mike, Mike from Shazza, Mike being Mike on television.
- 38:08Speaker 4: The guy who this image that was created, this heartthrob
- 38:12Speaker 4: sex symbol like they're trying to create. I carried myself
- 38:15Speaker 4: that way throughout life after the show was over because
- 38:18Speaker 4: I was like, man, if if I slip, then they're
- 38:21Speaker 4: going to think I'm a fraud.
- 38:22Speaker 3: So I have to live up to that. Right. And
- 38:25Speaker 3: I tried that. And it's exhausting pretending to be something
- 38:28Speaker 3: you're not. Yeah.
- 38:29Speaker 4: You know, all the time to be on, you know,
- 38:32Speaker 4: and God forbid if I was out and I didn't
- 38:34Speaker 4: take a picture with somebody.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Oh, Mike's an asshole.
- 38:37Speaker 4: So it didn't matter where I was or who I
- 38:39Speaker 4: was with. And imagine at the time I'm dating this
- 38:41Speaker 4: young girl. She's 10, 11 years younger than me. And
- 38:45Speaker 4: she's like, I just want to hang out with my man.
- 38:47Speaker 4: And we're sitting having dinner. And in the middle of
- 38:49Speaker 4: my dinner, I'm, you know, just eating my food. And
- 38:51Speaker 4: someone comes up and say, can I take a picture
- 38:53Speaker 4: with you? And I'm having an intimate dinner with my
- 38:57Speaker 4: girlfriend at the time. And my mouth half full, I
- 38:59Speaker 4: got to get up and take a picture because otherwise
- 39:01Speaker 4: you're going to be deemed like an asshole or you're
- 39:03Speaker 4: too good for people. So always had to be on.
- 39:06Speaker 4: And it was exhausting because then it was causing me
- 39:10Speaker 4: to be anxious. Then that would ripple into my relationship.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:14Speaker 1: And also I feel like that creates a lot of
- 39:16Speaker 1: jealousy sometimes.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Get jealous of the temptation that is being thrown at you,
- 39:23Speaker 1: whether or not you accept it or not. But also
- 39:25Speaker 1: I feel like sometimes that creates a lot of jealousy
- 39:27Speaker 1: of like, he's this person and I'm just the side piece,
- 39:32Speaker 1: you know, no matter who I am, I will always
- 39:34Speaker 1: be Mike's girlfriend and I will never be more than that.
- 39:37Speaker 1: And I think that that can, you know, cause a
- 39:40Speaker 1: problem in a relationship.
- 39:42Speaker 4: You know, you've dated some, some, some very well, well-known
- 39:47Speaker 4: people right and even though if he he would tell
- 39:50Speaker 4: you like you're beautiful you're so gorgeous oh my god
- 39:54Speaker 4: like i love you i i want to be with
- 39:57Speaker 4: you and regardless of how much he said that it's
- 40:01Speaker 4: it's just human nature to feel insecure if this person
- 40:05Speaker 4: is always getting attention.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Right And also because everyone thinks they know you, right?
- 40:11Speaker 1: So like everyone thinks they're friends with you or they're
- 40:14Speaker 1: enemies with you. Either way, they think they have an
- 40:16Speaker 1: intimate connection with you. And for a woman who has
- 40:19Speaker 1: an intimate connection with you, I personally would think that
- 40:22Speaker 1: that is frustrating, intimidating, because then there's no us, right?
- 40:26Speaker 2: And then we don't have something that's sacred.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Yes. And unfortunately with Paulina, I was like unhealthy. obsession
- 40:38Speaker 3: with her. I loved her, loved her.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Like I would look at her and she was, you know,
- 40:44Speaker 4: like a supermodel in my eyes, gorgeous. And I loved
- 40:49Speaker 4: her and I loved everything about her where I would,
- 40:52Speaker 4: you know, I would walk to the end of the
- 40:56Speaker 4: earth for her if she wanted me to.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Right. She had my entire heart. I loved her. I
- 41:01Speaker 3: loved her children. I loved her family.
- 41:03Speaker 4: And I would express that to her, but because of
- 41:08Speaker 4: the attention and the people sliding to the DMs, it
- 41:11Speaker 4: made her insecure. And then when I did what I
- 41:14Speaker 4: did responding, you know, that devastates a person.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Of course.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 3: It devastates a person.
- 41:23Speaker 4: And I was so miserable in my own mind that
- 41:25Speaker 4: I was trying to cure what was ailing my heart
- 41:28Speaker 4: and my mind, even though I was getting all this attention,
- 41:30Speaker 4: I still didn't feel attractive because I wasn't happy with
- 41:35Speaker 4: who I was.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you still felt empty. To be clear, you didn't
- 41:41Speaker 1: cheat physically.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You had an emotional relationship, yeah?
- 41:48Speaker 4: I'm so weird. I just like to know. I like
- 41:51Speaker 4: that chase. That's sexy for me, right? Even when we
- 41:55Speaker 4: were chatting, there was this little bit of flirting that's happening, right?
- 41:58Speaker 4: And it's a cute thing that I just do. I
- 42:00Speaker 4: can't help it. I've been this way.
- 42:01Speaker 3: With my entire life. I do it with... I'll do
- 42:04Speaker 3: it with a gay guy. I'll do it with a woman.
- 42:06Speaker 4: She could be attractive. She could not be attractive. She
- 42:09Speaker 4: could be 80 or, you know, 19. I'm just, that's,
- 42:13Speaker 4: that's my defense. That's the way I just, I, I
- 42:16Speaker 4: feel good. It gives me this, this feeling of satisfaction.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Well, and I just would like to say for you,
- 42:25Speaker 1: I would think that you find it sexier to feel known.
- 42:30Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 42:30Speaker 1: Like, I think you really like feeling like that connection
- 42:33Speaker 1: where as opposed to like a one night stand.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Maybe that'll feel good for the moment, but I think
- 42:37Speaker 1: it feels good to you. And I, I totally get
- 42:39Speaker 1: this is why I recognize it in you. I like
- 42:42Speaker 1: when someone really gets to the heart of me for
- 42:45Speaker 1: a second, you know.
- 42:46Speaker 3: That's what I like the attention.
- 42:48Speaker 4: I like to know that I'm making that person laugh
- 42:50Speaker 4: or that person finds me to be attractive. You know,
- 42:53Speaker 4: I've had one night stands in my life and without
- 42:56Speaker 4: a doubt, I feel like crap.
- 42:58Speaker 3: The next day.
- 43:00Speaker 4: And now that I've gotten older, I've realized that the
- 43:07Speaker 4: only person that needs to make myself feel good about
- 43:09Speaker 4: me is me. So that's why I feel more fulfilled.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I'm working on my body. I'm working on my health.
- 43:18Speaker 4: I'm working on eating right, reading the right books, journaling.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I thought that was the softest thing a person could do.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Like, what?
- 43:26Speaker 3: You write down your thoughts, right?
- 43:29Speaker 4: What?
- 43:29Speaker 3: Are you a woman? You know?
- 43:32Speaker 4: And then as I got older, now I'm in my feelings.
- 43:35Speaker 4: I cry at movies. I cry at the thought that
- 43:38Speaker 4: me and Pauline are broken up. I cry at the
- 43:40Speaker 4: thought that I don't get to see her kids who
- 43:43Speaker 4: I love. I'll be at the gym working out and
- 43:46Speaker 4: I'll start tearing because, you know, men are stupid. Sometimes
- 43:53Speaker 4: it takes us longer to become mature and Last year,
- 43:57Speaker 4: I really matured in my life and I realized there's
- 44:02Speaker 4: a reaction for all my actions. And unfortunately, I'm dealing
- 44:06Speaker 4: with the circumstances of what I've done in the past.
- 44:09Speaker 3: And I don't look for that validation anymore. You know,
- 44:14Speaker 3: I don't need it. So finally, I guess the.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Of the show have worn off where now I'm just myself,
- 44:22Speaker 4: you know, I'll sit and talk to somebody if I
- 44:23Speaker 4: want to. And if I don't want to, I'm sorry,
- 44:26Speaker 4: I don't want to take a picture with you right now.
- 44:27Speaker 4: And you could say whatever you want about me. I
- 44:29Speaker 4: don't care how you feel.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Right. You're going to have to wait until I'm done
- 44:32Speaker 3: with my dinner.
- 44:32Speaker 4: If you're still here, then we can take a picture,
- 44:34Speaker 4: but I'm not going to get up and serve you,
- 44:37Speaker 4: serve you and not serve this woman who I'm sitting with,
- 44:41Speaker 4: who has given her life to me, been there with
- 44:44Speaker 4: me because I, I was making her feel like she's valueless.
- 44:48Speaker 4: And I didn't even realize that until I became someone
- 44:52Speaker 4: who has wisdom and understanding of how I'm making people feel.
- 44:55Speaker 3: By my actions.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Okay, so let's talk about Paulina, who you brought up
- 45:00Speaker 1: a couple times. So, okay, we've established you guys all
- 45:03Speaker 1: got the call that the show was ending, and that
- 45:05Speaker 1: was before.
- 45:07Speaker 2: You got in trouble, correct?
- 45:09Speaker 3: Way before. Do you want me to pull up the email?
- 45:11Speaker 2: No, no, I believe you. It's your word.
- 45:13Speaker 1: So I just wanted to have you establish that because
- 45:16Speaker 1: I think, you know, when people, listen, when you Google
- 45:19Speaker 1: why Shaws of Sunset, ended it says because you got
- 45:23Speaker 1: arrested for domestic violence that's what google says right so
- 45:27Speaker 1: i want you to clear that.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Up but google also says i'm five two google says
- 45:32Speaker 4: my net worth is uh is like a million bucks
- 45:36Speaker 4: um i don't know how i became this person and
- 45:38Speaker 4: then the rest of the show that those people are
- 45:41Speaker 4: worth like 10 million dollars or whatever and whatnot and
- 45:44Speaker 4: i just laugh about this shit because the internet is
- 45:46Speaker 4: filled with so many lies.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Anyone can post anything they want on the internet.
- 45:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:54Speaker 4: And it's up to you whether you want to believe
- 45:57Speaker 4: it to be true or false. But the reality is,
- 45:59Speaker 4: is that the show was 100% without a shadow of
- 46:03Speaker 4: a doubt, canceled way before this incident, way before this incident.
- 46:08Speaker 4: I'm 5'11 and I have more than a million dollars
- 46:11Speaker 4: in my net worth.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Let that be told.
- 46:15Speaker 5: You know like let you know let me be the
- 46:18Speaker 5: the the bearer of truth for everybody um but again
- 46:23Speaker 5: clickbait let's make shit exciting oh this is a perfect
- 46:26Speaker 5: opportunity to uh to to to use mike's incident that
- 46:30Speaker 5: happened and create a reason why the show was canceled okay.
- 46:35Speaker 1: So and now straight from the horse's mouth let's hear
- 46:39Speaker 1: if you don't mind what really happened between you and
- 46:42Speaker 1: paulina that night um.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 4: The night that changed my life forever, it was a
- 46:54Speaker 4: Sunday night and me and Paulina were home. The kids
- 47:00Speaker 4: were home sleeping and she'd been smoking hookah in the house,
- 47:06Speaker 4: in our theater room, right?
- 47:08Speaker 3: With the door closed and.
- 47:09Speaker 4: We had doors that lead to the backyard. So she'd
- 47:13Speaker 4: like to smoke hookah in there. And the smell of
- 47:17Speaker 4: hookah makes me physically ill.
- 47:20Speaker 3: I hate it. I didn't want the children to be affected.
- 47:24Speaker 4: And again, because I love Paulina so much, I didn't
- 47:27Speaker 4: like that you'd smoke hookah. But it was a way
- 47:30Speaker 4: for her to relax and she really enjoyed it. And
- 47:33Speaker 4: I tried to cope with it and I just couldn't.
- 47:35Speaker 4: So we would argue about that all the time. And
- 47:37Speaker 4: it's been happening for a couple of nights in a row.
- 47:39Speaker 4: And that Sunday night, we got into a huge argument
- 47:43Speaker 4: and Our home is almost 5,000 square feet. It's a
- 47:48Speaker 4: huge two-story house. And we had our words with each other.
- 47:55Speaker 4: And Paulina's like, get the fuck out of the house.
- 47:58Speaker 4: And I'm not getting out. And I'm yelling at her.
- 48:01Speaker 4: She's yelling at me. And, you know, things start getting
- 48:04Speaker 4: thrown at each other. And we're just yelling at each other.
- 48:07Speaker 4: But the yelling is so loud that it's vibrating the house.
- 48:12Speaker 5: So....
- 48:14Speaker 3: Nanny's at home.
- 48:15Speaker 4: She's been with us for years. She gets scared. Police
- 48:18Speaker 4: are called. Police come to the house. They want to
- 48:24Speaker 4: come in.
- 48:25Speaker 3: I'm like, there's absolutely no way I'm letting you in
- 48:27Speaker 3: my home.
- 48:27Speaker 4: The kids are sleeping. It's going to scare the crap
- 48:29Speaker 4: out of them. Nothing is wrong. I'll have Paulina come out.
- 48:32Speaker 4: She'll talk to you guys, and you guys can go. No,
- 48:36Speaker 4: we have to come clear the house, he's telling me.
- 48:39Speaker 4: I said, dude, I'll bring her out. You could talk
- 48:45Speaker 4: to her. It's me and her in the house. You're
- 48:48Speaker 4: going to scare my kids if you're walking through. You're
- 48:50Speaker 4: two police officers walking through my house like 10.30 at night.
- 48:54Speaker 4: I'm not going to let it happen. Next thing I know,
- 48:57Speaker 4: he thought that I was disobeying him. And before I
- 49:01Speaker 4: know it, there's 20 police officers now in front of
- 49:07Speaker 4: my house.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Sergeant comes and says, look, Mike. He knew my name. Hey, Mike. Mm-hmm.
- 49:13Speaker 3: I never told them my name. Hey, Mike, step outside,
- 49:16Speaker 3: let me talk to you. So I step outside.
- 49:20Speaker 4: One cop grabs me by the arm and is holding
- 49:22Speaker 4: me like I'm a hardened criminal.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:25Speaker 4: And we have a carport and you can't get out
- 49:27Speaker 4: of the carport unless you have a car.
- 49:29Speaker 3: It doesn't open. Right.
- 49:31Speaker 4: And they knew that because I had to call to
- 49:33Speaker 4: physically open the door for them when the other cops came.
- 49:35Speaker 4: I had the phone in my hand. So the one cop,
- 49:39Speaker 4: the first cop that showed up goes inside. Little did
- 49:43Speaker 4: I know that he knew exactly who I was. So
- 49:46Speaker 4: he tells Paulina that night, I know he hit you.
- 49:51Speaker 4: I know him because I used to watch him on
- 49:54Speaker 4: his show with my ex-wife and I never liked him.
- 49:58Speaker 4: And I'm outside and not hearing any of this. And
- 50:00Speaker 4: then he's talking to Paulina. Paulina starts like bawling.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Like, you know, please leave him alone.
- 50:05Speaker 4: You know, everything's okay. They do the walk through the house.
- 50:08Speaker 4: He comes out, he goes, cuff him. So they cuff me.
- 50:12Speaker 4: And I'm like, why the fuck am I getting arrested?
- 50:14Speaker 4: It's like, you punched her.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Like, dude, I weighed 215 pounds. If I punched this woman,
- 50:20Speaker 3: there'd be nothing left of her. Right? They take me
- 50:25Speaker 3: to jail. No, before they take me to jail, they're like, hey,
- 50:28Speaker 3: we know you have guns. Where are they? Because all
- 50:32Speaker 3: my guns were registered to my name. So I had
- 50:35Speaker 3: guns in our bedroom.
- 50:37Speaker 4: And at the time, this was a year ago, there
- 50:39Speaker 4: was a lot of robberies happening in our area.
- 50:42Speaker 3: A lot.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Like we're hearing about it on the neighbor app all
- 50:45Speaker 4: the time. So I stockpiled on guns. And I was like,
- 50:48Speaker 4: if anything happens, I'm going to protect my family.
- 50:51Speaker 3: You know? I took Paulina to the range. I taught
- 50:54Speaker 3: her how to use guns. We would go practice. So
- 50:57Speaker 3: she would be comfortable.
- 50:59Speaker 6: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 51:02Speaker 6: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 51:07Speaker 6: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching.
- 51:14Speaker 2: You deserve a treat.
- 51:18Speaker 6: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 51:21Speaker 6: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Just in case, God forbid, anything happened.
- 51:32Speaker 4: As a irresponsible gun owner, I didn't realize that my
- 51:36Speaker 4: guns need to be in a safe, right? So I
- 51:39Speaker 4: had guns stored around our bedroom, so in case anything
- 51:43Speaker 4: pops off, she can get access to the gun quickly,
- 51:45Speaker 4: I can get access to the gun quickly, and we
- 51:47Speaker 4: can protect ourselves. So I had guns in the closet,
- 51:50Speaker 4: I had guns in my nightstand, but our closet and
- 51:57Speaker 4: our bedroom had a lock on it. And the kids
- 51:59Speaker 4: were never allowed. They knew never to come into the
- 52:01Speaker 4: bedroom unless they were with mommy, Mikey, or the housekeeper. So, so, um,
- 52:08Speaker 4: you know, they walked out with my arsenal of guns and,
- 52:11Speaker 4: you know, the next day, Paulina bails me out because
- 52:17Speaker 4: they wouldn't let me out on my own recognizance.
- 52:19Speaker 3: They bailed me out. Um, she bailed me out with
- 52:22Speaker 3: my brother.
- 52:23Speaker 4: They came together and, um, I found out I had
- 52:27Speaker 4: 14 charges against me. Now, not one of the charges
- 52:32Speaker 4: was a felony, right? And a battery, which domestic violence
- 52:37Speaker 4: is considered a battery, is a felony, right? So when
- 52:42Speaker 4: the cop was writing up his report, I guess he
- 52:45Speaker 4: wrote it in a way where everything was being charged
- 52:47Speaker 4: as a misdemeanor. And I later found out, because I
- 52:52Speaker 4: had to get an attorney, that any time the police
- 52:54Speaker 4: are called to a domestic violence case, one of the
- 52:58Speaker 4: people that are involved in this domestic violence case have
- 53:00Speaker 4: to be arrested. And this happened after the OJ Simpson
- 53:04Speaker 4: trial because OJ's wife and that other poor guy got
- 53:11Speaker 4: murdered because when they came to arrest OJ, they.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Didn't because of his clout and who he was.
- 53:19Speaker 4: So after that incident, the new law is that if
- 53:23Speaker 4: the police are called on any type of disturbance between
- 53:27Speaker 4: that someone has to get arrested.
- 53:28Speaker 3: So they arrested me. Right.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Me and Paulina, we stayed together for nine months after
- 53:38Speaker 4: the incident. And when the news broke where the internet
- 53:44Speaker 4: found out about the situation, her family got involved, my
- 53:48Speaker 4: family got involved, her friends, my friends. And then it
- 53:51Speaker 4: just blew up into something that now was another.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Added Stress on your relationship.
- 53:58Speaker 4: Stress on her, stress on me. And it just, we decided, hey,
- 54:02Speaker 4: why don't we just take a little break? I'll move
- 54:05Speaker 4: out and we'll figure it out. And, you know, out
- 54:09Speaker 4: of sight, out of mind. And then we drifted apart.
- 54:11Speaker 4: I got my day in court. The charges were dismissed.
- 54:16Speaker 3: All of them? All of them.
- 54:18Speaker 4: But what they did was, because the DA didn't like
- 54:23Speaker 4: the fact that I had my gun stored improperly, They
- 54:26Speaker 4: made me do community service, take parenting classes because I
- 54:31Speaker 4: was being a bad parent because I had these guns
- 54:33Speaker 4: stored irresponsibly, and gun classes.
- 54:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 54:38Speaker 4: So I had to do these three courses in order
- 54:41Speaker 4: for the charges to all be dropped.
- 54:44Speaker 1: And just to clarify for me and everyone, so the
- 54:48Speaker 1: things that they were following through with were the gun charges,
- 54:52Speaker 1: not with the domestic violence or the battery charges?
- 54:55Speaker 4: They wanted to, they wanted to push this domestic violence
- 54:58Speaker 4: thing on me so bad. And Pauline is like, dude,
- 55:04Speaker 4: I don't know what we've never been in trouble, but
- 55:07Speaker 4: there was no hitting.
- 55:08Speaker 3: We were arguing with each other. I would never hit her.
- 55:12Speaker 3: I would never ever hit a woman.
- 55:13Speaker 4: And it's crazy because when the news broke, Jessica reached
- 55:17Speaker 4: out to me, my ex-wife, three of my ex-girlfriends reached
- 55:20Speaker 4: out to me. Um, Girls I dated from years ago,
- 55:26Speaker 4: from when I lived in Vegas, called me and like, dude,
- 55:28Speaker 4: I know this is total bullshit. You would never hurt anybody.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Anyone who knows me knows I would never do something
- 55:33Speaker 4: like that, ever. Especially with someone I'm obsessed with.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I was fighting with.
- 55:39Speaker 4: Paulina so she wouldn't smoke hookah, so she.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Wouldn't get sick. So to clarify, you may have a temper,
- 55:49Speaker 1: but you never hit Paulina.
- 55:51Speaker 4: I've never hit a woman ever in my life. I
- 55:52Speaker 4: would never, ever, ever do that. That's something that's in
- 55:57Speaker 4: my eyes, heavily frowned upon.
- 55:58Speaker 1: And she did not claim you hit her, right?
- 56:01Speaker 2: She, she said you did not.
- 56:03Speaker 3: No, no.
- 56:04Speaker 4: And then, you know, well, my biggest mistake was though,
- 56:07Speaker 4: love that I disappeared from the internet because I was
- 56:10Speaker 4: so embarrassed about what happened that I wanted to hide
- 56:13Speaker 4: under a rock.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I'm like, Oh my God, the world's going to think
- 56:15Speaker 3: I hit her.
- 56:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 4: And I was so embarrassed for me. First for Paulina,
- 56:22Speaker 4: because this poor girl's name is now being pulled through
- 56:25Speaker 4: the mud about being this battered woman. And then secondly
- 56:31Speaker 4: for me and then my entire family, her entire family,
- 56:33Speaker 4: because now we have this stigma like, oh, he hit her.
- 56:37Speaker 4: And the Internet's cruel. So they talk shit and they
- 56:41Speaker 4: want to create clickbait. So everyone's picking it up. And
- 56:45Speaker 4: it was on every single tabloid you could think of.
- 56:50Speaker 4: the tmc to in touch to us week everywhere and
- 56:53Speaker 4: one made it bigger than the other yeah um and
- 56:57Speaker 4: it's funny we actually went to mexico together a few
- 56:59Speaker 4: months after the incident and some loser piece of shit
- 57:06Speaker 4: started taking videos and pictures of us i didn't unbeknownst
- 57:09Speaker 4: to us we didn't know on the beach i thought
- 57:11Speaker 4: i was safe we went to the beach i'm hanging
- 57:13Speaker 4: out with paulina and her kids who were like my
- 57:15Speaker 4: children i would call them my kids it was never
- 57:18Speaker 4: like oh they're your children like our kids, our babies,
- 57:21Speaker 4: the babies, you know, I really, truly love them.
- 57:24Speaker 3: And I still do.
- 57:26Speaker 4: And I was holding my little girl because the sand
- 57:32Speaker 4: was hot and Paulina's walking with her son behind us.
- 57:37Speaker 4: And someone snapped a picture of us walking. You know,
- 57:39Speaker 4: we're putting our head down so like people won't, because
- 57:41Speaker 4: I didn't want to attract attention.
- 57:43Speaker 3: And we're walking.
- 57:44Speaker 4: And then the tabloids were like, oh, Mike and Paulina
- 57:48Speaker 4: were on a lavish Mexico trip, but very minimal PDA
- 57:52Speaker 4: and all this other nonsense. They fluffed it all up
- 57:54Speaker 4: to make it into something it's not. When in reality,
- 57:57Speaker 4: the reason why I wasn't walking with Paulina and holding
- 57:59Speaker 4: her is because I was holding the baby so her
- 58:01Speaker 4: feet don't burn.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 58:04Speaker 6: You know?
- 58:05Speaker 3: So it's just wild how the internet works and how
- 58:06Speaker 3: they want to blow shit up.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:10Speaker 1: So what is your status with Paulina? Now you said
- 58:12Speaker 1: you guys went your separate ways.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Do you guys speak? What's going on with you?
- 58:17Speaker 4: Um, for, for, for months when we separated, it was like,
- 58:21Speaker 4: I love you. I miss you. You know, you're my King.
- 58:24Speaker 4: No one will ever replace you. And, uh, you know,
- 58:26Speaker 4: I would talk to her the same way. And, um, uh,
- 58:31Speaker 4: I sent her flowers for Valentine's day this last year,
- 58:34Speaker 4: even though we weren't together. And she texted me, my
- 58:36Speaker 4: heart will always belong to you. And, um, me and
- 58:41Speaker 4: her had a really incredible connection. She was just my person.
- 58:47Speaker 4: She'd be thinking something and I would say, oh my God,
- 58:49Speaker 4: I was just thinking that. Or if I was craving
- 58:52Speaker 4: some type of food, she wanted to, I was like,
- 58:54Speaker 4: Mexican food?
- 58:55Speaker 3: She's like, yes. Or, hey, let's go shopping on Melrose. Yes. Or,
- 58:59Speaker 3: you know, she'd be like, hey, I just want a Stanton.
- 59:00Speaker 3: I was like, absolutely, me too. It's like, we just,
- 59:02Speaker 3: it was very cohesive. It was just incredible.
- 59:05Speaker 4: But these outside sources, like the show, created so much difficult,
- 59:10Speaker 4: angry energy between us. It was like this elephant in
- 59:14Speaker 4: the room that it just caused unnecessary damage to our relationship.
- 59:21Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Okay, so I think we've established that it may have
- 59:26Speaker 1: worked had you not been part of a reality show
- 59:29Speaker 1: with your relationship involved. Would you ever do another reality show?
- 59:33Speaker 4: Unequivocally, yes. It would have for sure lasted if there
- 59:36Speaker 4: wasn't a show because I wouldn't have had.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Well, if.
- 59:43Speaker 4: I made mistakes, though, so I want to own that.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Like, I should never have texted that girl.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you wouldn't have had the temptation.
- 59:49Speaker 3: Or the clout that someone would want... jump in my
- 59:52Speaker 3: DM and like want to be with me.
- 59:55Speaker 4: And I still, to this day have never heard from
- 59:57Speaker 4: the girl again from that day after she texted Paulina
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: our messages and became the side chick. So I don't
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: know if it was a setup thing or what, but
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: I have my doubts because she reached out to one
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: person on the show out of everyone on the show.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: She didn't reach out to me or the producer.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: She reached out to this one person, one of my
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: cast mates and was voicing her, um, unhappiness about why
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: she made it on the show and why they made
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: her look a certain way and, and all this stuff.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: So I have my doubts of why this person appeared
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: in my life and who they were, but that's not
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: here nor there. It was an amazing learning experience and
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: it won't happen again because the, the level of loss
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: that I experienced losing this person who was my person,
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: And losing these children who I loved and adored definitely
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: was not worth the few minutes of excitement and feeling
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: these dopamine hits in my head because someone found me
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: attractive and I was having like just these conversations that
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: were just exciting.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Yeah. It was a great lesson. Great lesson. A hard one.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: An expensive one. Good one.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Now that summer is over and my daughter is going
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: back to school, I've always seemed to be running around
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: from one thing to another, but I still make it
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: a priority to eat healthy. And Green Chef is my savior.

- 1:02:11Speaker 1: much easier and it's delivered right to your door. It
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: cannot get better than that. So this week I got
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: a big box.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: It had sort of an.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Asian flair to it. And I made myself for lunch
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: spicy beef and broccoli noodle bowls.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: It was so good.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I had a second one that I made the next
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: day for dinner. I absolutely loved it. The cooking time
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: was 20 minutes. The calories per serving were 700 and
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: it was so good. My daughter loved it enough that
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: she wanted to try cooking. So the next day she
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: made cheesy artichoke chicken sandwiches and also the sesame shrimp
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: noodle bowls. And let me tell you, she was doing
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: like TikToks and all excited that she was now a chef.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: And she documented the 20 minutes she spent cooking and
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: how good the food was. And she asked me when
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: we were getting our next box. So if that isn't
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is. That people
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: of all ages, from someone who's 11 to me, who's middle-aged,
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: would love eating this food. I'm so excited to get
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: my next box. So for 50% off, you guys go

- 1:03:35Speaker 1: kit for eating well. So, Mike, what do you think
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: about the state of reality TV right now? As we
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: all know, you know, there's been a lawsuit, I guess
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: is what they're calling it, that Bethany is the front
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: person with Mark Garagos and other lawyers against NBC and Bravo.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on this whole state of affairs
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: and the reality reckoning that they're talking about?
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: Bethany beat me to it. And she's a very, very
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: smart woman. I have a lot of respect for her.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: She is incredibly intelligent, took this platform and created a
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: monster business around it. And I tip my hat to her.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: And she's someone that I admire. And when you're that
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: big on a reality show, when your name is synonymous
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: with the show, you get preferential treatment from the network.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: You get preferential treatment from the production company. So imagine
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: if she's coming out and saying, they didn't treat us right.
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: We should be unionized. They're taking advantage of us. Imagine
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: how the little guy who just started on a reality
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: show or who was an add-on got treated.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: So yes, there's hierarchy and they definitely don't treat us
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: with the respect we deserve. Typically, if you're in a
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: hostile environment and you want to leave that hostile environment,
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: typically people let you go. But on reality TV, they
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: follow you. You take your microphone off.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: I'm done. I'm leaving. Fuck this. They'll follow you all
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: the way to the car to get your reaction and
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: make sure they take that little.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Bit of dignity you still may have left And they're
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: going to fucking steal that from you because we want
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: to make sure that people that we have good footage
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: that people are going to watch and they want to
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: see you storm off.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Talk about what triggered you. They talk about your your actions.
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: And that's such an interesting thing to think about, because
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: at some point, you know. Again, I've done this not
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: in such a big way that you did, but I
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: know you feel this connection to producers. There's usually one
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: or two that you get really close to and you
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: feel like they get you or you really like them.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden when you see that
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: they're not stepping in, it's almost, you know, you feel
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: like you're let down.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Do you know? Two producers stick out. Actually, three. Three.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: One of them was Persian.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Persian gay guy that would play up the butchness when
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: he needed to and played up the, hey, bitch, and
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: that type of shit when he needed to. So he
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: knew exactly how to get what he wanted from you.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: And then we had another one, also a.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Gay dude, that knew exactly how to And it doesn't
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: matter their sexuality. It's just they knew when to be
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: cute and fun.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: And you didn't take it in a way where it
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: was like he was being aggressive with you. And then
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: you went to butch it up and fucking reprimand you.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: And these two guys were two of the most manipulative
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: human beings I've ever met in my entire life.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Both producers of the show.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: The un-Persian one was the producer for the last few
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: seasons of our show. And he did... a phenomenal job. Like,
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: he has a triple PhD in bamboozling and getting people
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: to do what they want. And he got Paulina eating
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: out of the palm of his hands like a little rabbit.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: And he would just be in her ear. Hey, babe,
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: we need you to get on the show. You need
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: to say what you need to say because, you know,
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: Mike's doing this and Mike's saying that behind my back.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: And I was living with Paulina and she wouldn't tell me.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: I was like, babe, who are you talking to? She's like, Right.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: And he was manipulating her behind the scenes. And that's
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: why she got on the show and was like, yeah,
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: I'm done with Mike.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: before bed. Or two. You know, nobody's watching. You deserve
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: a treat. With eight flavors to choose from, you can
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: choose the flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: I'm done, done, done, done, done. And I would go
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: home and, you know, it's like, I'm sorry, babe. I
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: shouldn't have done that. I know. And then we'd make
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: up and I couldn't get mad at her because I
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: know because they were doing the same thing to me
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: and I was a seasoned fucking vet.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Well, and they also, they almost lure you in of like, well,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: if you don't go back, I mean, this is your
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: chance to give your narrative, to tell your story and
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: your words. But then, you know, you come on there
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: and you get provoked in all sorts of ways and
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: it gets, you know, and then it gets edited later.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: So it's not really your words, even though, you know,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: you're saying to an extent what you want to, but
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: it's like turned on you.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Or you make a facial gesture like.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: or, you know, you do like an eye roll and
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: they'll take that and put it somewhere where it wasn't
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: even part of that situation.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: Or what they call wild. We need you to come
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: and do a wild line. A wild line. Yeah.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: Just go into a quiet place and say this. Hey, Reza,
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: that was fucked up that you did that.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Was that good? No, do it again. There was an echo. Hey, Reza,
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: that was fucked up that you did that. Right?
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: And they'll fucking put it in the show wherever they
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: wanted to to create that scene to make it seem
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: like you were fighting with them.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Right. Okay, well, wait. So you do bring up a
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: good point.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: So you get involved in this like you're an actor,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: kind of, and you're doing these scenes.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: I'm Brad Pitt. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Better looking Brad Pitt.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: But, but the thing is, is that, you know, what
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: do you think about these allegations where people are saying, well,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: I was made to drink a lot and behave in
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: ways that I never would. And it was, you know,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: borderline abusive. And I was doing these things that I
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: was forced to do. But like you're saying, they're asking
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: you to do things to create scenes. You know, what
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: do you say to those critics that will say, but
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: you did all these things on your own.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: How could you blame other people for your actions?
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: And, and, um, some of the people on the show
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: would happily and openly do things that were.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Horrible.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: They would cut their own mother's throats if, if, if
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: they were asked to because they wanted to keep the
- 1:10:32Speaker 4: show alive.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: And there were certain people that wouldn't, but could be
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: coerced to because, you know, for instance, this producer I
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: was talking about, um, We'd be filming and we'd be
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: there for a few hours and he's standing there, right?
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: And he's watching and it's not playing out the way
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: in his mind it should. And I can't even tell
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: you how many times he'd throw off his microphone.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: He'd throw off his earpiece like this, like, okay, cameras down,
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: cameras down, cameras down. Guys, you know what? Let's just
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: go home. Forget it. Forget it. Forget it. Forget it. Guys,
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: take a five. Forget it. You guys don't want to
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: make a good show. Forget it. That's okay.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: It's okay.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Do you think anyone cares about this bullshit? Just like that.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: I'm like, uh, what do you mean? Okay. Let me
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: remind you. And you just do that. Like, like, like
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: a little, just aggressive bitch. Like. Let me remind you, okay?
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Last time we were here, Reza said this about you,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: and you said this about MJ, and Gigi was in
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: the corner with a knife, and Nima was picking his nose.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: Do you remember this? No. Well, remember it. I was like, oh, shit. Okay. Like,
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: he's not telling me what to say. Yeah. But.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: But he's serving it to you on a platter.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Like, do you want to get out of here or
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: do you want to film until tomorrow morning?
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: Hurry up.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: And then Reza would get pissed off. He's like, guys,
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: come on. These checks don't come cheap. Let's go.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: And, you know, he was the godfather of the show
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: because he was so outrageous and so good.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: He was always on. And that's what I respected about him,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: that he was always on.
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: And he knew how to carry the show in a
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: way that was fun and light. And he knew when
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: to bring the drama and when to act like an
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: asshole and when to be cool and So it was.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: Like, okay, I get it. Okay. I'll follow your lead.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: And we just go down this rabbit hole of just insanity.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: And then imagine filming for eight hours and going home.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: Fucking frazzled.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: You're frazzled.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: You're like, holy shit. Like I just got into a war.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: And then you have the anxiety of that moment. Then
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: you have the anxiety when you sit down months later
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: and you're doing your confessional because you don't know where
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: the show is going to head because they're asking questions
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: in particular to a certain situation that you thought would
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: make it on the cutting room floor, hopefully. And then
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: the third time again, when the show comes out, now
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: you have to relive it, but not just between you
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: and your friends.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: Who knows everything.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: Why that shit went down, but now the entire world
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: who's watching is, and is now blowing up your social,
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: blowing up your email, crank calling you in the streets,
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: talking to you. So it's, it's a really difficult, it's
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: a really difficult position to be in. So I understand
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: why people are upset because in the moment you're drinking
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: where the alcohol is flowing freely, right. And they'll keep
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: on bringing it. because you'll keep consuming because you want
- 1:13:34Speaker 4: to numb yourself so that you can create what hopefully
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: won't make it, but may, but you'll deal with it later.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: But you're so induced in alcohol and fear and anxiety
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: and peer pressure that you do shit that you.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: May have not wanted to do.
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: And it's tough that someone pulls back the curtains and says, nah,
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: that's not fair. You can't fucking treat us like that. Yes,
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: we are reality stars. And yes, you guys are paying
- 1:13:59Speaker 4: us well, but damn, You're taking away our dignity. You're
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: taking away our true expression. Editing something to be what
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: it's not. And then we're having to cope with it
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: for not just the three times that I said, but
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: for years to come because now people are being able
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: to watch it on Peacock and YouTube.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: It's going to play forever.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: And then people's perception of you and their thoughts are
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: you're that person, which you're really not.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: And that to me is like what I think is
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: worth the most money kind of like if your reputation
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: is going to be damaged or there's going to be
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: a stigma that goes with you for years to come
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: because the show is rerun and you cannot get away
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: with that that to me is what's most damaging like
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: if i'm going to look like this and have a
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: scarlet letter on my head for all these years it
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: better be worth something because i'm not doing that for
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: free now.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: That that leads me to a question for you if
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: i paid you residuals would that be worth.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: It I mean, it eases the pain.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I mean, yes, it eases the pain. Because that's something
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: you signed up for, right? At the beginning, you signed
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: up for being on the show. You knew what reality
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: shows are about. But, you know, now in hindsight, you
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: look at how it's affected your life, whether or not
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: you're getting the deals you want to get. People are
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: reaching out to you to get those multimillion-dollar houses because
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: they know you.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: They want to be friends with you. Or are they like,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: this guy's a jerk. This guy.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: you know, is a cheater, it's affecting your relationships that
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: you can't get married to someone because they think you're
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: always going to cheat on them. I would be like,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: fuck that. That's worth money to me then. Cause I
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: have to live with this. Um, to me that, I mean,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: And I think, and I think that's completely fair. You know, uh,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: we should be compensated. Yeah.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: So that's what I wanted to ask you about. So
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Bethany was on a podcast this morning. On her podcast,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: she said over 100 reality stars have reached out to
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: her personally and to the lawyers. So I want to
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: clarify something because I think there's a lot of rumors
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: on the internet that So there's a movement to create.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: A union going forward. But is there also something where all.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: These reality stars are coming out of the woodwork because
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: they're looking to get some sort of back pay or
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: they're looking to have some monetary value come into play
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: for what they've gone through? Like, do you know what
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: this lawsuit will turn into?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: So from some reliable sources, there is about, I think,
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: 100 reality people.
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: Who have reached out to Mark Garagos, who I'm very
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: surprised is taking on a case like this because he
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: deals with very high profile people and celebrities and cases.
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: But obviously he sees something here where there's promise that
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: there is a case.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: And, you know, if it was one or two people,
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: you could say they were lying. And there may be
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: some misconception of what really happened. But when a hundred
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: people come forward and all their stories are the same,
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: they are trying to find compensation for the damages that
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: they suffered throughout the years on being on these shows
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: where they are alleging that they were in hostile environments,
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: that they weren't getting fed. They were being induced by
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: alcohol and And they weren't protecting certain people. And there
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: was some, I don't know, sexual things that were sexual misbehavior.
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: That never happened on our show, the sexual misbehavior.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: But we had to beg for food. We're like, we're hungry. OK,
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: you guys will eat later.
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: You have to film right now. And tons of alcohol.
- 1:17:44Speaker 3: I mean, you.
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: Bottles and bottles and bottles and bottles and deprivation of sleep.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: They would not let us sleep. It didn't matter if
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: I had my door locked and I was, if we
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: were traveling as a group and we were staying in
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: a house together and I had my door locked, they
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: had a key to my door and they would open
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: the door and come in and film. And I'm laying
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: there to be naked, clothes on, dead asleep, three in
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: the morning, five in the morning, did not matter. If
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: things were popping off, In the rest of the house,
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: and my name came up, I had to be involved.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Right. Imagine if you're dead asleep and you get woken
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: up to a camera, you're like, oh, shit, I have
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: to be on.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: And that leads to exhaustion, and you're not using your
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: brain because you're brain dead.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: You're sleeping. You're tired. Mm-hmm.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Now, but I'm curious, what if you jump on this
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: bandwagon and the person that is like next to you
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: that also is complaining about this stuff is somebody from
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: like Summer House or Winter House where that whole show,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I don't know if you've seen it. I really haven't,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: but I know the premise of it. And I know
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: that a lot of them you are. these two go
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: in and sleep with each other and they're with five
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: different people on the show and that's kind of the
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: premise of the show what if these people are the
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: same type of people saying that this is something they
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: want to be a part of that they want to
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: jump on the team Bethany, um, you know, route, do
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: you believe that those people are in the same boat
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: as someone like you or someone who's really been through
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: something abusive?
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: It's not for me to say, I don't know.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: You know, um, I'm sure, um, they're typecasted and they're
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: people that have liberal views of sleeping with each other.
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: I'm sure of that.
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: None of them are coming in and being super conservative
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: like Christians and Jews and saying, I will not sleep
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: with anybody and they get casted. They're obviously casted for
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: a reason because they go through several questions before they
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: get casted for these shows. But that doesn't mean that
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: because someone is promiscuous that they could be mistreated or
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: not given a safe, secure environment to work in to
- 1:19:51Speaker 4: create a show.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: That's super important.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Absolutely. You know, regardless, we just have to have decency
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: for people, right?
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Because a 21-year-old chick comes on a show and says,
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: fuck it, I want to have fun and, you know,
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: this is my summer to live it up and I
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: just broke up with Johnny and I want to sleep
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: with everyone in this house.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: God bless her. That's her life.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: But that doesn't mean they could deprive her of food and,
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: you know, shove alcohol down her throat, you know, to
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: make her act a certain way.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: If she isn't is a normal state of mind. And
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: she decides that she wants to do these things, more
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: power to her. I'm not judging her. Um, but that's
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: not for the network to induce. And if they are,
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: then they should be liable for it.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: And I think that's pretty, yeah, that's important.
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: It's up to a jury to decide if this goes
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: to that, that far, if this person who's making these
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: claims is telling the truth and if she has a
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: case or not, it's not for us to judge.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: Or for Mark Geragos to judge. It's on the jury.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: And I think it won't even get to that point, though.
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: I think that Bravo, because they know, because they get
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: all the raw footage, they know exactly what happens, and
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: they've turned a blind eye to it, and they've been
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: able to.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: Capitalize it for years and years and years and years
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: and years. And now.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: There's a power in numbers. A hundred people coming forward.
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: They're going to settle and they're going to pay out big.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: And I think we're going to see a change in
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: format of how these reality shows are filmed and produced.
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: And it's going to protect people like me who got
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: started on a show, who were down and out, thought
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: this was an opportunity and decided to do whatever it
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: takes to make a good show.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: So I have to ask you then, have you reached
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: out to Mark Garagos or to Bethany to be part
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: of this?
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: I've spoken to Bethany, I think, just in passing throughout
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: the years. I've spoken to Mark Garagos. I initially called
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: him to speak to him regarding my DV case because.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: When the police officer came into my house....
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: And told my fiance at the time that he never
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: liked me and he would watch my show.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: That's bias, right? You can't judge me because of who
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: you think I am on a show, right?
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: And then make false accusations against me.
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: And then told her.
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: Don't look at me like this. I have a gold
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: Rolex too. This is just my side gig, right? So
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: I called Mark. And when I decided to come out
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: of hiding, I called him.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: I was like, hey, man.
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: Just recently, I want to, I want to go after
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: this cop for civil, you know, for, for, for civil
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: harassment because of what he did and the way he,
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: he treated me. And that's when he told me, he's like,
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: there's a statute of limitations that where these recordings only
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: last for six months and it's been longer than six months,
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: you don't have a really a case or else I
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: would love to take it on. And then I was like,
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: what's going on with this reality stuff? And, you know,
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: he's like, You should be a part of it.
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: I know you. You have a bunch of fans in
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: my office. I like you.
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: I think you're a good dude. And the way they
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: treated you wasn't cool. And we had a minute conversation
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: about it. And I'm a little torn whether I want
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: to be a part of it or not. But because
- 1:23:21Speaker 4: I respect you and I think you're so adorable and
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: you're like you just you knew exactly how to get
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: me onto your show. I just wanted to I wanted
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: to talk to you about these things because. I feel
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: bad for future people that want to be on reality TV.
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: I get a lot of calls from people, hey, man,
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: they want to do this show about me.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: What do you think? I was like, don't do it.
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: And some people are like, oh, this guy's an asshole.
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: He doesn't want me being on television because he wants
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: all the clout. But in reality, I want them to
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: know what they're signing up for. And I'll sit down
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: with them and I'll tell them, hey, this is what's
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: going to happen. So me being on the show with
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: you is to just voice.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: My... and what happened in my life and with this
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: case with Paulina.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: And to warn future people who want to be on
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: reality TV, that's not all it's cracked up to be.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Will you ever do a reality show again if they
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: form a union, if you're a little more protected?
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: I will not do another Shaws of Sunset formatted show
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: where it's a lifestyle show. I would do more of
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: like a business one where it would follow... Me and
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: my business in real estate with my CBD line, with
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: my public speaking, stuff like that that resonates with me
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: and where I can make a difference in the world.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: Because at the end of the day, I don't want
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: to be an entertainer. I'm not a clown.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: I don't want you to watch TV and forget about
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: your problems because you're watching the problems that I have.
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: I want to leave you inspired. I want to leave
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: you better than I found you. And if I can't
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: do that, then there's no point. I've already done that.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: So just to be succinct, I just want to know
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: what you think is the most misunderstood thing about you.
- 1:25:21Speaker 4: Somehow, after the first few seasons, how they portrayed me
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: to be this person that has anger issues.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: No, I don't lead with anger. I'm very protective. I'm
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: very passionate. I protect people I love. You are my friend.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: I just met you.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: But if someone tried to hurt you, I would protect
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: you because that's just the way I am. It's a
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: funny story that I want to share with you. I
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: was at the gym two weeks ago and this cute
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: Indian girl walks up and I go, is that Shanti Garnathian?
- 1:25:58Speaker 4: I went to school with her when I was in
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: the fifth grade and I still remembered her face because
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: it hasn't changed much.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: She walks up and she goes, Mike? Hey, Shanti? She goes, yeah.
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: And she's walking up with a guy and she tells
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: her husband, whatever his name is, this is Mike Showhead.
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: Mike Showhead has the biggest heart you'll ever see in
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: your life. In the fifth grade, people used to pick
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: on me. And Mike was one of the cool kids.
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: And he would protect me and the other people that
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: were getting picked on. And I'll never forget that. We
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: are almost 45 years old. Fifth grade, you're what, 12, 11?
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: All these years, I have not seen her. And she's
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: still remembered.
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: And like a fucking weirdo, I started tearing at the
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: gym and I hugged her. And I was like, that
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: is the sweetest thing ever. And I'm so happy that
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: you remember that about me. And her husband high-fived me.
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: He's like, oh, that's really cool, man.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: I appreciate that.
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: And shout out to Shanti Garnetian for really touching my
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: heart because that's always the person I've been.
- 1:27:04Speaker 3: I'm very protective.
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: And unfortunately, there was this misconception that I'm not that person.
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: And I'm super soft on the inside. I'm a little
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: too emotional sometimes.
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Like I said before, I think, I think you just
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: like to feel understood and that's what like gets to
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: your heart.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Um, all right.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: So just quickly tell me, what is your relationship now?
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Like with Reza, Gigi and MJ?
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: Um, I have not talked to them in a long time.
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: I'm not talking to him a long time. We kind
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: of drifted apart. Um, the show really took a toll
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: on us. This last season was very difficult for me. Um,
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: I felt very ganged up on. I felt very betrayed.
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: People did things behind the scene that hurt me. Um,
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: but if they ever called me and needed a helping
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: hand or, um, if there's anything I can ever do
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: for them, I would do it gladly because I can't
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: erase that love I had for them, even though we
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: may not be fond of each other at times, but
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: amazing people, um, when they want to be. And they
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: can also be really cruel and not nice when they
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: want to be too. So after 10 years of sharing
- 1:28:28Speaker 4: that space together so intimately, we needed a break. So
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: MJ reaches out once in a while. I'm so proud
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: of her. She's kicking ass. Her son is is doing amazing.
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: She's still married.
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: They're happy. I know Reza's crushing it.
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: I was actually at his father's funeral when his dad
- 1:28:50Speaker 4: passed away. Gigi I've not spoken to in a long time.
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: Nima I chat with every so often. Me and Shervin
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: are very tight. We're like the Persian Hans and.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: France, you know?
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Yes, I remember. Of course, yeah.
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: Yeah, so when we hang out, everyone's like, are you
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: guys brothers? We're like, no.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: So we hang out and he's crushing it. So yeah,
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: I've really lost touch with a lot of people in
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: my life. Once the situation happened with me and Paulina,
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: I kind of became a recluse.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: And I realized I have to go back to being....
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: A one man show and really building myself up back
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: and really becoming a person of integrity, a person who
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: leads with kindness, a person who is empathetic and loving
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: and really find myself. So I just went back into
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: the lab and just worked on myself. And now I'm slowly,
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: you know, getting my head out of the shell and.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Connecting with old friends again.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: And I have to ask, because I'm sure a lot
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: of ladies will be wondering, what is your dating status
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: at the moment?
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: Since my breakup with Paulina, I dated a really incredible girl,
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: super smart, sweetheart of a person, just all around amazing.
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: But she could sense, she's like, you're here, but you're not.
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: present and I need you to be present. And I
- 1:30:32Speaker 4: couldn't lie to her. I wasn't mentally prepared to move on.
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: I tried physically a few times and that was cool,
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: but it didn't make me feel better about myself.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: So I stopped that.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: And then when I tried to be mentally involved with somebody,
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: because I wasn't fully over Paulina, I just decided that
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: she's right and we should stop talking. So I'm single,
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: just working on myself. And I think when the time
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: is right, the universe put the right person in my life,
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: a podcaster that lives in Florida.

- 1:31:47Speaker 1: feel confident that I'm giving myself a chance to start

- 1:33:42Speaker 2: All right. And tell people where they can find you.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: No, I knew what you were saying. I don't want
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: anyone to be jealous. So where can people find you?
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: What are you doing? You know what? Tell us what
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: you're doing right now with your life.
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: So selling real estate, we're one of the top five companies.
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: agents in the company our team is crushing it i
- 1:34:12Speaker 4: work with a girl named victoria cruz who's just the
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: sweetest kindest person you could meet and then she could
- 1:34:19Speaker 4: be a fucking pit bull and she'll bite your head
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: off you know so she's one of those girls where
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: um she's crushing it and we're working together so it's
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: victoria cruz homes and showhead estates we've teamed up and
- 1:34:30Speaker 4: we're one of the top teams in uh in the
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: company called equity union selling real estate um i have
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: a cbd line.
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: Wait, wait.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: Before you talk about your CBD line, I'm just so curious.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: In California, in the L.A. area, there are all these companies.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: There's like Mauricio's company. There's the Oppenheimer brothers. There's, you know,
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Matt and Josh. Like, how do you guys have enough
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: places to sell? Are you guys running into each other?
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: How does that all work?
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Yeah, the cream rises to the top. You know, Josh
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: and Matt are two of my best friends. They're all
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: my brothers.
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: They are.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: incredible real estate agents. They're crushing it. The Oppenheimer group
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: is what they're called. Not Oppenheimer brothers, by the way.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 1:35:15Speaker 4: You know, those guys have some agents that, you know,
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: the 80, 20 rule, you know, 80% don't do shit.
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: 20 do.
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: And the 20% are the ones who are running LA.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: And luckily I'm, I'm part of that 20%. Some people
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: may think, you know, they're like, Oh, it's because of
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: the show. Okay, the show has been gone for two years.
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: If you don't have hustle, if you're not out there
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: knocking on doors and making calls and networking and meeting people.
- 1:35:44Speaker 3: You're not going to make any money. Yeah.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: It doesn't matter how much clout you have. People don't
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: just call me out of the blue and say, hey,
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: will you sell my home? So you have to just network.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: So there is a shortage of inventory, but there's also
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: a shortage of people who really want to do the work.
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: So the Altman brothers are always on.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: They're my really dear friends.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I've known them for years. They're the greatest guys.
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: I'm so close with Matt.
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: I just love him.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: Oh, Matt's the best. He's hilarious. So yeah, they work
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: very hard. I work very hard.
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: And we're out there competing for the business. And we
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: win some, we lose some. And that's just how it works.
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: But yeah, I think we have 600 agents in our office.
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: OK. Amongst 11 offices. Yeah, so not all of them
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: are doing anything. Some of them.
- 1:36:31Speaker 4: work part-time, some just want a license and they don't
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: do anything.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: They're really crushing it.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Sorry to interrupt you.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: And now tell me about your CBD line.
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: So I'm a huge advocate for psychedelics and mushrooms.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: I microdose daily. Have you ever taken mushrooms?
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: I have not.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: No? Oh my God.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: I'm so interested in it now that I did that
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: podcast with Jay Godfrey a couple of weeks ago about ketamine.
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: Podcast, by the way. Great podcast. I loved it. I
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: listened to it. You did an amazing job.
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: People have this misconception about psychedelics and how, you know,
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: you do it to get high, but if you take
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: it like medicine, you know, it'll eradicate the use of
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: Xanax and all these other over-the-counter man-made pills that are
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: toxic for you. You know, this stuff grows from the
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: earth if you, God didn't want you to have it,
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: it wouldn't be here, right? And it comes from mother nature.
- 1:37:33Speaker 4: And so I'm a huge advocate for it. Here's the line,
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: by the way, this is our gummies. So we do
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: microdose gummies and I take a gummy a day and
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: it takes the edge off and I love it. And
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: I think it's going to be, it's already, it's not legal,
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: but it's been decriminalized. So I think eventually we're going
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: to see is it's going to be I think LSD
- 1:37:59Speaker 4: and mushrooms are going to become legal here soon, just
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: like marijuana has become. And people are going to really
- 1:38:04Speaker 4: see the benefits and it's going to help a lot
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: of people battling their depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, you know, and
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: an array of other issues that people have. So I've
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: been pushing for that, pushing for legislation to make the,
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: make psychedelics legal. And what else do I do? That's
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: pretty much it. I'm going to start a podcast, actually.
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: I decided, yeah.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Do you have a name for it?
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: We're working on a couple of names. I'm trying to...
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: I'll let you know when I come up with it. Okay.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: People can DM you some suggestions.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: Mr. Understood.
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: Yes, I would love that.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: Mr.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: And Mrs. Understood. You can do it with me. You
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: can be my co-host.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: Oh, I'd love that. You could cry.
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: Yeah. So I wish you the best of luck.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: I'm so happy that you took the opportunity to come
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: tell your story with me. I think, you know, you
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: have explained yourself in a way that anyone would be
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: really interested to, you know, follow your path, would want
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: to know your version of the story and really feel
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: like they understand you now.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: At least I do.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: And it's been an honor and a pleasure and I
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: wish you the best of luck.
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: I can easily say I'm so happy that I came
- 1:39:27Speaker 4: on and I chatted with you.
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: You were awesome.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: You made me feel very comfortable. I appreciate that you
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: gave me the platform to just tell my side of
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: the story. People are misunderstood and that's just the way
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: society is. And until I always tell people, if you
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: don't hear it from my mouth, and you don't see
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: it with your eyes and hear it with your ears,
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: don't believe it because anyone can make up anything about you.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: So I'm glad I'm here. This is a great platform
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: for people to come on and not be misunderstood anymore.
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: So I appreciate that you allowed me to do that.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: And a shout out to Mike Schnediger, our friend in
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: Las Vegas. If you guys ever go to Tao, you
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: have to call him because he will help you get in.
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: He's the man. He runs that behemoth of a company.
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: He sure does.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: All right, Mike, take care and I wish you the best.

- 1:41:11Speaker 6: Did you say no for first-time buying? No, wait, hold on.
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: Okay, please hold.
