- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey everyone, welcome to the Almost as podcast. Today is me.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Ben is on a plane. He was delayed, so he
- 0:12Speaker 2: isn't able to make our interview with the beautiful, the
- 0:17Speaker 2: wonderful Latia Gar. Hello, welcome to the show.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Hi Ashley, thanks so much for having me.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hi, Oh my gosh, thank you so much for being here.
- 0:26Speaker 2: You were one of the cast members in recent memory
- 0:29Speaker 2: that I can actually feel being like very glued to.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I loved I actually enjoyed watching Grants season in episodes
- 0:40Speaker 2: because of you, because like I really started to feel
- 0:43Speaker 2: very attached to you. I guess like top six ish, okay,
- 0:49Speaker 2: and just like thank you for being such a compelling character.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I was really rooting for you. I think that you
- 0:56Speaker 2: just seemed like you were like fun and you're beautiful,
- 1:00Speaker 2: he had depth, and I don't know, you like kind
- 1:03Speaker 2: of felt like a character that we would have seen
- 1:06Speaker 2: years ago on the franchise. Not that like that's not
- 1:08Speaker 2: the poopoo on anybody right now, but it's just like
- 1:10Speaker 2: the investment that I had in your relationship was the
- 1:13Speaker 2: investment level that I was more used to having about
- 1:17Speaker 2: a decade ago.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Oh, that's so nice of you to say.
- 1:20Speaker 4: I feel like I have looked out with the conversations
- 1:24Speaker 4: in time that I had, like serious, like compelling stuff
- 1:28Speaker 4: came up. I feel like, I mean, we really didn't
- 1:31Speaker 4: talk about it like anyone else in the house.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It was mostly just about me and him.
- 1:34Speaker 4: So I feel like it made it easier in that
- 1:37Speaker 4: way that most of our time was just about him
- 1:41Speaker 4: and I.
- 1:41Speaker 3: So that's nice of you. Thank you so much, thanks
- 1:44Speaker 3: for having me. I'm a course thanks.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So when you look back on your time on the season,
- 1:51Speaker 2: do you see it through totally different lenses? When you left?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Did you think, man, I am heartbroken and this pain
- 2:02Speaker 2: is going to last so long? Or did you have
- 2:06Speaker 2: some sort of like I always describe like the lifting
- 2:09Speaker 2: of the bachelor bubble kind of or you're all of
- 2:12Speaker 2: a sudden thinking like oh wow, like he was hot,
- 2:16Speaker 2: but I think it was just hot and I'm not
- 2:20Speaker 2: sure whether or not like I truly felt as intensely
- 2:23Speaker 2: because you're in this bubble, What do you was? What
- 2:26Speaker 2: was your thoughts?
- 2:27Speaker 4: I think I have looked at it from a few
- 2:29Speaker 4: different lenses, right, Like I think initially when I went
- 2:32Speaker 4: home and I'm like driving away in the car, I'm like,
- 2:35Speaker 4: what was that? Like, I'm so like confused, Like I
- 2:39Speaker 4: just had the rug pulled and I have no context
- 2:42Speaker 4: or anything. And I think like as I sat at home,
- 2:45Speaker 4: I was like, Okay, yeah, it was a little bit
- 2:47Speaker 4: of a bubble, and like I kind of it kind
- 2:50Speaker 4: of starts to click that like I really didn't have
- 2:51Speaker 4: that much time with him, so there really were so
- 2:54Speaker 4: many gaps that were like big, and I just missed
- 2:58Speaker 4: so many like parts of his person and there's just
- 3:01Speaker 4: like missing context for so much.
- 3:03Speaker 3: And then for sure watching it back.
- 3:04Speaker 4: And seeing like other people's conversations added even like a
- 3:08Speaker 4: different layer of perspective where I was like, Okay, yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 4: like the conversations that he's having with other people are
- 3:16Speaker 4: not aligned with the version that I that I had
- 3:19Speaker 4: in my head while I was filming. And so it's
- 3:22Speaker 4: like you continue to learn. And I think that's like
- 3:24Speaker 4: with any breakup, you know, like you continued, like it
- 3:27Speaker 4: kind of continues to make sense more and more as
- 3:30Speaker 4: you get away from it, and as like your feelings
- 3:32Speaker 4: kind of like fade away, you know.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Can you give us an example, Yeah, can you give
- 3:37Speaker 2: us an example of like a conversation that you saw
- 3:39Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, this is totally different than what
- 3:42Speaker 2: I thought that guy was about.
- 3:44Speaker 4: I mean, any of his time with Juliana was just,
- 3:46Speaker 4: like I think, a different version of him than I saw,
- 3:49Speaker 4: you know, like I think, but that's also so fair,
- 3:53Speaker 4: because you know, different people bring out different sides of you,
- 3:56Speaker 4: and so like that's not to say anything about either
- 3:58Speaker 4: one of them. It was just more like, oh, yeah, no,
- 4:01Speaker 4: our relationship was so so different than theirs, and like
- 4:06Speaker 4: I just didn't you know, there were parts of it
- 4:08Speaker 4: where I.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Just like didn't recognize. I was like, oh, okay, Like
- 4:11Speaker 3: good to know.
- 4:13Speaker 2: There was some speculation during your season that if you
- 4:16Speaker 2: were to pick you, he was in it, he was
- 4:19Speaker 2: gonna have to long haul it. Take it seriously, Heaven
- 4:23Speaker 2: forbid you take an engagement sercialces. Oh yeah, yes, yes.
- 4:27Speaker 2: But if he went the Juliana route, she may have
- 4:29Speaker 2: been a little bit more lax about how far, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 2: how fast they led to marriage and all that. Maybe
- 4:36Speaker 2: he got the vibe that he could just like date
- 4:38Speaker 2: her in real life. What's your thoughts watching it back, especially.
- 4:45Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, I think that Juliana's timeline is different
- 4:49Speaker 4: than mine. I didn't really ever talk to her about that,
- 4:51Speaker 4: but mine wasn't news to him, Like we talked about
- 4:54Speaker 4: that during the Finance.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Date when Hannah Berner was on. He like, yeah, this
- 4:59Speaker 3: game too.
- 4:59Speaker 4: They didn't to show our conversation that night, but he
- 5:01Speaker 4: put this game together with different cards and asked about
- 5:04Speaker 4: my timeline when I wanted to have kids, and I
- 5:07Speaker 4: was like, well, once, I like meet my person like
- 5:10Speaker 4: within two years, and so if it's you, then like
- 5:14Speaker 4: two years from now is ideal. But that's like a conversation.
- 5:17Speaker 4: That's a lot of conversations that we have together, and so.
- 5:22Speaker 3: My religion and my timeline and all.
- 5:24Speaker 4: The rest of it seemed to be a big deal
- 5:27Speaker 4: for him at the end, but it wasn't new information.
- 5:30Speaker 3: He knew that week too, so I was kind of
- 5:32Speaker 3: like all right.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And to me, say I love you and said like
- 5:38Speaker 2: you're the one.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah several times.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah it was that.
- 5:46Speaker 3: He said it the first time.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I think he said it on FaceTime to my mom,
- 5:49Speaker 4: and he said it like throughout the date, like the
- 5:51Speaker 4: puppy date. He said it like a bunch of times,
- 5:54Speaker 4: and I remember looking at it like like I literally
- 5:57Speaker 4: looked at Bradford, and I was like, are you, like,
- 6:00Speaker 4: is you like allowed to say stuff like that?
- 6:03Speaker 3: And you know I was. It was just.
- 6:06Speaker 4: He continued to say it the whole time, whether or
- 6:09Speaker 4: not he was supposed to. And I know that they
- 6:11Speaker 4: talked to him about it several times, but yeah, he
- 6:13Speaker 4: kept saying it.
- 6:14Speaker 2: What's crazy is like I know that multiple bachelors, my
- 6:17Speaker 2: co hosts included, have said I love you to two
- 6:19Speaker 2: people like that to me, like actually makes sense. What
- 6:24Speaker 2: doesn't make sense to me is him kept keep he
- 6:27Speaker 2: kept saying to you, you're the one, like you're the one.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: He's even more intense in the bachelor process totally.
- 6:37Speaker 4: I think, like it's so hard and like this is
- 6:40Speaker 4: dating in general, right, Like you are thinking, like when
- 6:43Speaker 4: they say something to me, that means something to me,
- 6:45Speaker 4: but I don't really know what that means to you,
- 6:48Speaker 4: and like you might be someone that they're like trying
- 6:50Speaker 4: on for size and they say things like you're my wife.
- 6:53Speaker 4: You're the one that I'm like, oh my gosh, you
- 6:56Speaker 4: act like you know so in my mind you know
- 6:59Speaker 4: that I'm your wife. So I got to catch up
- 7:02Speaker 4: or I got to like, you know, cut you loose
- 7:04Speaker 4: and so. But to them they're just like no, like
- 7:06Speaker 4: that's just like how I like approach dating, Like I don't.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Know, that's messed up.
- 7:12Speaker 3: It is, it's messed up.
- 7:13Speaker 4: But I like, I'm not going to pretend to know
- 7:15Speaker 4: what goes on in the minds of boys and men.
- 7:17Speaker 4: But I think, like, you know, for whatever reason, it
- 7:20Speaker 4: made sense to him. And I think I think he
- 7:24Speaker 4: even now says that he didn't say it, which is
- 7:26Speaker 4: like fine, I don't care, like it's you know whatever,
- 7:30Speaker 4: But I think that, yeah, he said it a bunch
- 7:33Speaker 4: and like you're my wife. He said it for the
- 7:35Speaker 4: first time actually to me and to like producers when
- 7:41Speaker 4: it was on the first group date when we did
- 7:43Speaker 4: like that R and B like my open mic thing,
- 7:48Speaker 4: when we had like our conversation and I was crying
- 7:50Speaker 4: about dating and he was like, I know that you're
- 7:52Speaker 4: my wife and then he like said it, Oh yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 4: I don't know he's where's this part on his sape?
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think is what he calls it.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I know that you're my wife from like week two.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Which is like so old red flag right like that
- 8:10Speaker 4: like normal people don't say stuff like that, Yeah that's true.
- 8:13Speaker 4: When is your wife after you know, fifteen minutes, thirty
- 8:17Speaker 4: minutes of conversation, so that should have been like my
- 8:19Speaker 4: first thing. I think in my mind, I was like, well,
- 8:21Speaker 4: he knows it's being filmed, and like he's actually actively
- 8:24Speaker 4: dating other people, so like there's a litmus test kind
- 8:28Speaker 4: of built into this process of like comparing everything and
- 8:32Speaker 4: like comparing other relationships.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It sounds way more intense to say that, yeah when
- 8:37Speaker 2: there's other people involved.
- 8:39Speaker 3: That's what I thought.
- 8:40Speaker 2: If you were like dating in real life and he
- 8:43Speaker 2: said that, and then you guys got to know each
- 8:45Speaker 2: other better and it ended up not being the truth.
- 8:48Speaker 2: That would be like one thing, yeah, but for you
- 8:52Speaker 2: to just be in a competition and he crowns you
- 8:56Speaker 2: wife at that point, Wow, okay, actions matched.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I think was the was, honestly, like the most like
- 9:06Speaker 4: I don't even I don't want to say deceiving part,
- 9:08Speaker 4: but like that's that That is what I felt let
- 9:10Speaker 4: on by the most is that like, yeah, it was
- 9:13Speaker 4: the only one that had two one on one dates
- 9:15Speaker 4: and I was the you know, like he always called
- 9:17Speaker 4: my name first for roses and like like other girls
- 9:21Speaker 4: like when they were leaving, like in their exit interviews
- 9:24Speaker 4: were like well I know it's her, like, so it
- 9:26Speaker 4: like it wasn't just like, oh, it's all in my head.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I was like, no, like I mean privately and publicly
- 9:31Speaker 4: like he like his actions match his words.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Just do you think there's love bombing? Like I don't
- 9:36Speaker 2: even know what.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Hundred percent, but I think, like to say I love
- 9:41Speaker 4: you in eight weeks that's love, Like that's in my mind.
- 9:44Speaker 4: You know, that's like a very like accelerated like dating relationship,
- 9:50Speaker 4: from meeting someone to getting engaged like you, I kind
- 9:55Speaker 4: of like had already made my piece at that going in.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
- 9:59Speaker 4: Like I was just like, yeah, yeah, the show goes,
- 10:02Speaker 4: I know that they get engaged at the end, So there.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Is like romance bombing.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Yeah exactly, like there like there's a love bomby like
- 10:09Speaker 4: aspect of this whole thing built into it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Mm hmm yeah definitely. So when do you think it's
- 10:15Speaker 2: switched to him choosing Juliana? Hey, I heard we all
- 10:21Speaker 2: heard here on this podcast. Did you hear about a
- 10:25Speaker 2: possible coin flip?
- 10:27Speaker 3: Oh I heard about the coin flip.
- 10:29Speaker 4: I didn't hear any like confirmation about that. Yeah, if
- 10:33Speaker 4: there was a coin flip, I'm grateful for however, it all.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Turned off, I know, because you would have gotten the
- 10:39Speaker 2: right side of the coin, that's for sure.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I think in my mind it's like God's plan, Like
- 10:45Speaker 4: I think I felt so like looked after and grateful
- 10:49Speaker 4: for my experience I had. I had such a good
- 10:52Speaker 4: experience really because the whole time I was like I
- 10:55Speaker 4: didn't ever stress, like every real ceremony, I was like,
- 10:57Speaker 4: oh I'm good, no worries, and like, you know.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I'm just like I'm just there for a good time.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Like hey, you know, I like, I mean, like I
- 11:04Speaker 4: made so many amazing friends and like, you know, everyone
- 11:08Speaker 4: on the crew like product, Like I still like text
- 11:11Speaker 4: and like keep in touch with them. Like I had
- 11:12Speaker 4: such a great time, and then it was really just
- 11:15Speaker 4: only a bummer at the.
- 11:16Speaker 2: End, one bad moment. Yeah I got.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Food poisoning and then I got the rug pulled. But
- 11:21Speaker 4: really I think it was you know, protection, so.
- 11:26Speaker 2: A blessing, a true blessing in disguise. Do you have
- 11:31Speaker 2: any idea though, when like it would have flipped in
- 11:33Speaker 2: his head if it weren't for a coin flip.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's probably around overnights, I would.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Guess, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking too.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, if I had to guess when it would have been,
- 11:48Speaker 3: that's when.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm not remembering correctly. Were overnights a thing for you
- 11:53Speaker 2: with with your Mormon religion? Did you clarify that you
- 11:56Speaker 2: were not going to be sleeping with him in the
- 11:58Speaker 2: it's just sweet?
- 11:59Speaker 3: So so in my religion, we don't.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's like most Christian religions, like
- 12:05Speaker 4: we are, I don't believe in premarital sex.
- 12:07Speaker 3: For me.
- 12:08Speaker 4: An added layer of that was that there are other
- 12:13Speaker 4: people involved, and like at a minimum, you know, I
- 12:17Speaker 4: don't want to like have anything like when I know
- 12:22Speaker 4: that we're not exclusive, you know, and not just that,
- 12:27Speaker 4: but like I know the other girls that are there,
- 12:29Speaker 4: and I'm friends with them, I love them, Like that's
- 12:31Speaker 4: so And if you're for me, like that's weird.
- 12:35Speaker 3: And if you're not, I.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Don't, you know, want to be like having that kind
- 12:40Speaker 4: of a night with my friend's fiance that she's getting engcourse.
- 12:43Speaker 3: You know, like that's just weird to me.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Even though I knew, you know, it was a part
- 12:48Speaker 4: of the process and that was coming. I had just
- 12:51Speaker 4: kind of decided before I came that that was just
- 12:55Speaker 4: like just not really how I wanted to spend that time.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Have you heard that Grant is right now very vocal
- 13:12Speaker 2: about his celibacy journey.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I did. I heard that. Yeah, good for him.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Anything else to elaborate on.
- 13:19Speaker 3: No power to him. Okay, yeah, good luck he.
- 13:23Speaker 2: He is. We thought interesting. It was interesting, like I'm
- 13:26Speaker 2: all about him actually talking about that publicly. But what
- 13:30Speaker 2: was interesting to us was that, like he said that
- 13:34Speaker 2: he has some credentials for being a dating expert because
- 13:37Speaker 2: he was the Bachelor. That's why he's doing a new
- 13:40Speaker 2: dating show. What do you think about having.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I would love to see his resume.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well his show will come out soon and
- 13:52Speaker 2: we'll know further about how he deems himself an expert.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I'm gonna say the next week or so. I do
- 13:58Speaker 2: think it's like a YouTube show. I'm not one hundred
- 14:00Speaker 2: percent show.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Nice okay, good for him, Yeah, happy for him.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So we know that you Letia and Juliana do not
- 14:08Speaker 2: follow each other on Instagram? Was that? Oh? Was that
- 14:13Speaker 2: a real friendship to begin with?
- 14:16Speaker 4: So my friendship with Juliana was the same as like
- 14:21Speaker 4: my friendship with most of the girls. I think that
- 14:24Speaker 4: obviously you're closer to certain people because either you share
- 14:29Speaker 4: like a room with them, or you happen to be
- 14:31Speaker 4: on the same group dates as them, or you just
- 14:33Speaker 4: like naturally.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Are more drawn to other peoples.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that for a lot of the time,
- 14:39Speaker 4: I think she kind of like isolated herself from the
- 14:42Speaker 4: group and so she was not really I would say,
- 14:46Speaker 4: close with as many of the girls until towards the end,
- 14:49Speaker 4: like in Scotland, so like to me, like, I genuinely
- 14:54Speaker 4: like and I still do, like I care for Juliana.
- 14:57Speaker 3: I have love for her.
- 14:58Speaker 4: I want to see like her successful and happy, and
- 15:03Speaker 4: I think that I don't agree with some of her
- 15:06Speaker 4: choices and some of the things that she said there
- 15:08Speaker 4: at the end, but like, I still like I don't
- 15:12Speaker 4: have any ill will towards her, and I certainly don't
- 15:15Speaker 4: like hold anything against her.
- 15:16Speaker 3: I think she's doing the best she can.
- 15:18Speaker 2: So it was never like you guys were besties, no, Okay, Yeah.
- 15:24Speaker 4: I was very close to and Dina okay, and Zoe
- 15:29Speaker 4: and Alex and Natalie, and like I think those were
- 15:33Speaker 4: like my closer closer girls throughout filming.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Did you did you reach out at all after the breakup?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Oh?
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, Juliana and I facetimed like oh you did after yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 4: and it was like totally friendly until the end. It
- 15:52Speaker 4: was like news to me at the end that like
- 15:56Speaker 4: I was making up and I was, you know, she
- 16:01Speaker 4: took offense to things. There was an offense intended, but
- 16:05Speaker 4: that's how it was taken.
- 16:06Speaker 2: So so that was throughout the like the airing and
- 16:10Speaker 2: like before airing, before.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Airing, exchange text messages and yeah, up until honestly, like
- 16:18Speaker 4: I think maybe hometowns are overnights the week that those aired, okay,
- 16:23Speaker 4: like texting and okay and then checking in on each
- 16:25Speaker 4: other and yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 2: But then when the two of them broke up, Julana
- 16:29Speaker 2: and Grant, you didn't you didn't talk to her since then,
- 16:33Speaker 2: I haven't talked to her alrighty, so you are friends with.
- 16:36Speaker 3: That as well. Yeah, I wish her well.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Oh of course, of course, of course, yes, No, I
- 16:41Speaker 2: mean that makes total sense. If you guys stopped talking
- 16:44Speaker 2: long before their breakup, that wouldn't make any sense as
- 16:48Speaker 2: to why you would have talked afterward, unless you know
- 16:50Speaker 2: she wanted to be like, I'm jealous. I wish I
- 16:53Speaker 2: didn't have to go through that.
- 16:55Speaker 3: No, she doesn't even jealous. She's doing well, she's doing
- 16:58Speaker 3: She's doing just fine.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes, So our next bachelorette, Taylor Friggy Paul is
- 17:04Speaker 2: also Mormon, also lives in Utah. And uh, I remember
- 17:09Speaker 2: that there was some like spotting of you with some
- 17:12Speaker 2: of the Secret Wives ladies.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Were you filming an episode of the show.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that there was filming going on. I'm
- 17:21Speaker 4: not like a cast member or anything.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've maybe been around the set before.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I've been around. Yeah, I've been around okay while they're filmed.
- 17:31Speaker 2: So then do you know do you know Taylor?
- 17:33Speaker 3: I know Taylor. I've met Taylor a few times. I
- 17:35Speaker 3: really like her. I'm excited to watch her. I think
- 17:38Speaker 3: she is.
- 17:39Speaker 4: I mean, I was a fan of Secret Lives of
- 17:43Speaker 4: Mormon Wives, like before I ever met any of them,
- 17:46Speaker 4: and so like, I'm just like, I you know, they're
- 17:50Speaker 4: good at their job. Like I'm entertained that. So I'm
- 17:55Speaker 4: I'm a fan of Taylor. I want to see her
- 17:57Speaker 4: win and I'm excited.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Is there any think that you think the audience should
- 18:02Speaker 2: know that Taylor should keep in mind when filming when
- 18:05Speaker 2: it comes to being more men.
- 18:08Speaker 4: One thing that I hope that maybe happened because I
- 18:12Speaker 4: was on in the season before, is I hope that
- 18:17Speaker 4: people are just a little bit more open minded that
- 18:19Speaker 4: I think there's like a lot of like cult talk,
- 18:22Speaker 4: and I will say, I want to shout out you
- 18:24Speaker 4: and Ben, and Ben especially because I think he knows
- 18:27Speaker 4: some people that are like active in my religion. And
- 18:31Speaker 4: I really appreciated how much grace and like, uh, open
- 18:35Speaker 4: mindedness and realness you guys talked about my religion and
- 18:39Speaker 4: specifically me with I think a lot of people. And
- 18:43Speaker 4: when I say a lot, it's like maybe there were
- 18:45Speaker 4: a few people, but it takes up a lot of
- 18:46Speaker 4: space in your brain, you.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Know when people say it.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 4: But I think that there's like a misconception about my
- 18:52Speaker 4: religion that women especially are. It's really really strict for women,
- 18:58Speaker 4: and it's like very narrow own minded and conservative and traditional,
- 19:02Speaker 4: and I think that by the world standards and like
- 19:05Speaker 4: you know, everything else that's going on, it is conservative.
- 19:09Speaker 4: But we all definitely have our own agency and free
- 19:13Speaker 4: will to choose whatever we want. And like the biggest
- 19:18Speaker 4: thing about our religion is that we are taught is
- 19:20Speaker 4: that God loves you, and that like church and religion
- 19:24Speaker 4: and his love is for everyone. And so I think
- 19:27Speaker 4: that a lot of people view our choices as like, oh,
- 19:31Speaker 4: that must It's like our religion is very prescriptive, and
- 19:33Speaker 4: like she must be doing that because she thinks that
- 19:36Speaker 4: the men in her life or the you know, like
- 19:39Speaker 4: her church leaders are gonna come down on her.
- 19:41Speaker 3: For this, and it's like, no, Like, I live according to.
- 19:46Speaker 4: My religion standards because I actually believe that's the thing
- 19:50Speaker 4: that brings the most happiness and peace to my life.
- 19:53Speaker 4: And I haven't found anything else that brings that amount
- 19:56Speaker 4: of joy and peace to me.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So that's why it is.
- 19:59Speaker 4: The core tenant that I live my life by, not
- 20:02Speaker 4: because I'm scared of men or because I think that
- 20:07Speaker 4: I'm scared of what people will think. Like I do
- 20:09Speaker 4: things according to what I think will bring me the
- 20:11Speaker 4: most happiness. So I think I hope that.
- 20:14Speaker 2: That shows I hope much take.
- 20:18Speaker 3: That into account. I think Taylor.
- 20:19Speaker 4: I honestly really commend Taylor for everything that she has
- 20:24Speaker 4: like said about her relationship, because you know, none of
- 20:28Speaker 4: us are without like our regrets or mistakes, and I
- 20:31Speaker 4: think that she views forgiveness and be atonement in the
- 20:37Speaker 4: same way that I do. And it's just that it's
- 20:39Speaker 4: for everyone, and that's why it exists. It's because we're
- 20:42Speaker 4: not perfect and God wants us to be happy. So
- 20:46Speaker 4: I think that's how I hope that people view our
- 20:50Speaker 4: religion and us as women that are members of our religion.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Is just that we're doing the best we can and
- 20:56Speaker 4: it doesn't mean that we need to be perfect. We're
- 20:59Speaker 4: just you know, figuring it out just like everybody else.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I think she's going to demonstrate a lot of what
- 21:05Speaker 2: you just said, just based on me watching season one
- 21:09Speaker 2: of Housewife of you know, Mormon Wives. She's going to
- 21:12Speaker 2: do a good job doing that. Is it frustrating to
- 21:15Speaker 2: you guys that Mormons and Polygamis get lumped together and correctly?
- 21:21Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I think, like it's just I think there
- 21:24Speaker 4: are misconceptions about any religion, you know, Like I think, yeah,
- 21:29Speaker 4: has like a whole thing that they probably wish wasn't
- 21:31Speaker 4: a part of their Like we all kind of have.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Like no one is perfect. Again, that's why.
- 21:37Speaker 4: You know, we believe in forgiveness and we subscribe to,
- 21:40Speaker 4: you know, the idea that you can do better and
- 21:42Speaker 4: learn and do better next time. But I think I
- 21:46Speaker 4: like Polygny doesn't resonate with me. I don't understand that part.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I'm with you, I don't know.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I don't get that part, But I know the parts
- 21:55Speaker 4: that really resonate with me, and those are the things
- 21:59Speaker 4: that I love my life by.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Poligamy's not one of them, though. That's that's for certain.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I'm not And especially after the Bachelor experience, I don't
- 22:07Speaker 4: think I'm I don't think.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I don't think I've cut out for it.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, do they ever approach you to be
- 22:14Speaker 2: the bachelorette? I know that they kind of said that
- 22:16Speaker 2: there wasn't going to be a bachelorette after your season,
- 22:19Speaker 2: but lo and behold, it is actually what we got.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I mean, I think saying like it's the same thing
- 22:24Speaker 4: every season, you know, like they kind of just put
- 22:27Speaker 4: feelers out and you go out for it and you
- 22:30Speaker 4: talk to you know, Rob and whoever. And but then
- 22:34Speaker 4: they fired all the producers. So I was like, oh, yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 4: doing the showing.
- 22:38Speaker 2: A bad time to be in contention to be the lead. Well,
- 22:42Speaker 2: you would be a fabulous lead, and we do hope
- 22:44Speaker 2: that you're on something in the future because you'd be
- 22:47Speaker 2: so so good you're just You're good at holding your
- 22:52Speaker 2: own and you're a good personality for this. You bring
- 22:55Speaker 2: a lot of goodness to the franchise, So I hope
- 22:59Speaker 2: that you're around. But before we move on to talk
- 23:02Speaker 2: more about present day, I do just want to talk
- 23:06Speaker 2: about your epic departure from the show. I mean maybe
- 23:11Speaker 2: maybe the most memorable departure I could think of, since
- 23:17Speaker 2: like a Switcheroo type season really big, right, yes, because
- 23:24Speaker 2: we were floored that it wasn't you it was and
- 23:29Speaker 2: you just are such like you just delivered the perfect
- 23:35Speaker 2: amount of bitchiness that the situation called for. The way
- 23:39Speaker 2: that you're just like called the come on now hilarious?
- 23:43Speaker 2: Did you cringe a little watching it back?
- 23:46Speaker 3: I gotta be honest with you.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I love watching it back, like literally, like I was
- 23:52Speaker 4: not actually I was not well, like when I tell
- 23:55Speaker 4: you they gave me so much medicine because I had
- 23:59Speaker 4: food poisoning, like I was not.
- 24:01Speaker 3: They gave me so much medicine.
- 24:03Speaker 4: To make sure that I was like I didn't have anything,
- 24:06Speaker 4: Like I was okay, walk down and like and stand
- 24:10Speaker 4: there for that I blacked out, Like I really don't
- 24:13Speaker 4: like I like watching it because it's like I get
- 24:16Speaker 4: to be like a viewer and just be like because
- 24:18Speaker 4: I don't remember a ton and like I I don't
- 24:21Speaker 4: say that a lot in my normal life. I was
- 24:25Speaker 4: just like I think I was so exhausted and so
- 24:28Speaker 4: just like I think it was like most of what
- 24:31Speaker 4: you saw there was me just being like that's okay,
- 24:35Speaker 4: Like it doesn't have to be me, but like be
- 24:38Speaker 4: so for real right.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Now, like exactly.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Just literally level with me here, and like I was
- 24:44Speaker 4: just looking for traction, like just be a real person
- 24:47Speaker 4: and just like admit that, like you're going back on
- 24:50Speaker 4: what you said this whole time, that's totally fine, but
- 24:53Speaker 4: just like I like I want you to like just
- 24:58Speaker 4: say it, and he just like wouldn't and so I
- 25:03Speaker 4: was just like really like yeah, oh.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I would have were handled it the exact same way.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Maybe that's why I love it so much, Just like dude,
- 25:15Speaker 2: are you wait kidding me? Are you kidding me? Because
- 25:18Speaker 2: you never see that with people. You see them that
- 25:20Speaker 2: get like mad and sad but mostly quiet, and you're
- 25:23Speaker 2: so vocal, And I loved it so much.
- 25:26Speaker 4: When that conversation was so long, Ashley, like I like
- 25:30Speaker 4: we were sat there for probably forty five minutes, like
- 25:33Speaker 4: Paullie and ever like is like rushing us through. They're
- 25:36Speaker 4: like Grant, like you have to get in the car
- 25:39Speaker 4: like you had like okay, you guys gotta start walking now,
- 25:42Speaker 4: like you have to walk away. And he's like no,
- 25:44Speaker 4: like he was like getting mad. He was like no
- 25:47Speaker 4: a minute, like I have too much to say, and
- 25:50Speaker 4: like I think ultimately I think he just like didn't
- 25:54Speaker 4: want me to like be mad at him, Like he
- 25:56Speaker 4: just like didn't want it to like end on bad terms.
- 25:59Speaker 3: And I was just like, well, you should have thought
- 26:01Speaker 3: about that.
- 26:02Speaker 4: The entire time when you were saying all this stuff
- 26:04Speaker 4: like I'm sorry, there's just like not a world where
- 26:07Speaker 4: this ends well for you, like with and I like
- 26:11Speaker 4: I was just like after every yeah said, after all
- 26:14Speaker 4: of like the warnings and like how cautious I feel
- 26:17Speaker 4: like I've been for both of us, and you just
- 26:20Speaker 4: like barreled.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Past them every time.
- 26:22Speaker 4: There's not like this was gonna be bad, Like It's
- 26:26Speaker 4: not like and I didn't want it to be mean either,
- 26:29Speaker 4: Like I I hope it didn't come across in that way.
- 26:32Speaker 2: It wasn't mean though because of what he did, it
- 26:35Speaker 2: was deserving.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I was just like accountable, like yeah, just be accountable.
- 26:41Speaker 3: It can be done, but he just wouldn't do it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: So I was like, well, so basically he was trying
- 26:46Speaker 2: to keep you there for forty five five minutes, but
- 26:48Speaker 2: not at all admitting that like he said things that
- 26:52Speaker 2: he should have never said.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Yeah, because he would be like, well do you think,
- 26:57Speaker 4: like do you think I've been misleading? And I was
- 26:59Speaker 4: like I literally I looked over to like the audio
- 27:04Speaker 4: people on the camera people, and I was like, shall
- 27:06Speaker 4: we run the tapes?
- 27:07Speaker 3: Like I don't have like I don't have.
- 27:09Speaker 4: The energy, and we don't have the time to like
- 27:11Speaker 4: really like express to you by.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Of course, like of course you've been misleading.
- 27:17Speaker 4: And I don't know how much of that is like
- 27:19Speaker 4: part of being the lead and how much of that
- 27:21Speaker 4: is because you thought it was me or you just
- 27:24Speaker 4: wanted me to like you or whatever it was. But
- 27:28Speaker 4: I was just like duh, like yeah, this is this
- 27:34Speaker 4: is not pleasant to your misfortune.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I would have loved to have the forty five minutes
- 27:40Speaker 2: aired because.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Oh I was just have them aired.
- 27:43Speaker 4: I would love to watch because I blacked out, Like
- 27:46Speaker 4: all I know is that like my like when I
- 27:48Speaker 4: got in the car and I was like, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 4: trying to like make sense of it.
- 27:53Speaker 3: She's like, I don't think.
- 27:53Speaker 4: They've ever let anyone have that much time for like
- 27:57Speaker 4: the breakup before, Like I think typically it's like a
- 28:00Speaker 4: I have to ten minutes, like they like to like
- 28:01Speaker 4: rush it through so that it can be like happy couple,
- 28:04Speaker 4: you know. But they let me have the time, and
- 28:08Speaker 4: he insisted on the time.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I would have thought, and it seemed like on TV
- 28:12Speaker 2: that he just wanted to get you out of there.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I wanted to get out, Like I
- 28:17Speaker 4: was like, I'm uncomfortable, like you think I want to
- 28:19Speaker 4: be in this trust right now, Like I was like
- 28:22Speaker 4: I want to lay down, I want to take a nap,
- 28:24Speaker 4: I want to go home, like I'm ready to get
- 28:26Speaker 4: out of here.
- 28:38Speaker 2: So after a moment like that, I'm assuming that you
- 28:42Speaker 2: just probably weren't very surprised when he and Juliana broke
- 28:46Speaker 2: up so shortly after the finale.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean I wasn't happy to see it,
- 28:53Speaker 3: like I think when we were.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Wanted it, because you know, like they were like each
- 29:00Speaker 4: other's match and all the rest of it. So I
- 29:02Speaker 4: was like sad to see it, not work out because
- 29:06Speaker 4: I was like, he for sure wanted it, So I
- 29:10Speaker 4: was like, well, I want him to be happy, but yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 4: I gotta be honest, like, I don't know who he is,
- 29:14Speaker 4: Like I I thought that I did while it aired,
- 29:17Speaker 4: and then that we've seen, like, you know, a different
- 29:20Speaker 4: persona online and so I think I wanted, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 4: to see him be happy and figure it out, and
- 29:27Speaker 4: he didn't.
- 29:28Speaker 2: So maybe his new social media content is that he
- 29:34Speaker 2: seems very very much interested in finding the one now
- 29:39Speaker 2: and I think that that a lot of people doubted
- 29:42Speaker 2: that desire about a year ago. And I don't really
- 29:46Speaker 2: know if I have a question about that, but just
- 29:49Speaker 2: a statement.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I don't really see his stuff very often.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I did see.
- 29:56Speaker 4: The celibacy thing and cheering them on in that regard,
- 30:01Speaker 4: but I really don't know anything else.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Alrighty, Well, have you dated at all since?
- 30:08Speaker 3: Yeah? I've dated a little bit here and there.
- 30:11Speaker 2: What's a date look like these days? It's been a
- 30:13Speaker 2: long time for me, Like, is it still sucks so bad?
- 30:17Speaker 3: It sucks so bad, Ashley.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 30:24Speaker 3: No, it's they're fine. They're fun.
- 30:27Speaker 4: There are good guys out there, and I think, like
- 30:30Speaker 4: I have definitely been on dates with good guys and
- 30:34Speaker 4: been on a date with a few duds. That's just
- 30:36Speaker 4: you know, the luck of the draw. That's how it goes.
- 30:40Speaker 4: But nothing to be jealous.
- 30:42Speaker 2: So okay, so no one out there of note right now?
- 30:46Speaker 4: There's a few of note I think, Oh okay, there
- 30:49Speaker 4: are until you know, you gotta keep hope. You know,
- 30:53Speaker 4: you gotta stay possible.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Okay, good, okay, great, all right, so there's some guys
- 30:58Speaker 2: that you're still talking to. Oh yeah, okay, great. Have
- 31:03Speaker 2: you been interested or ever DMed with anybody from Brachelination?
- 31:07Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 31:09Speaker 4: I think like friendly exchanges, but I haven't like been
- 31:13Speaker 4: on dates with anyone or like nothing romantic from anyone.
- 31:18Speaker 2: We thought you hung out with Alex, who is now
- 31:21Speaker 2: with Andrew. I just want to say that they're engaged
- 31:23Speaker 2: because they're so cute and I want them to be engaged.
- 31:25Speaker 3: I love them so much.
- 31:28Speaker 4: I love like, I truly like Alex is like my
- 31:31Speaker 4: little sister like I. We are so different, but we
- 31:36Speaker 4: are like bonded. I like, I don't know why, we
- 31:39Speaker 4: like text all the time, FaceTime every day, Like I
- 31:42Speaker 4: just I love Alex.
- 31:44Speaker 3: And when they came into town. I was like, like,
- 31:47Speaker 3: I really hope I like Andrew and I totally did.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, he's wonderful. They're just the most cute
- 31:53Speaker 2: thing in the entire world. She was one of the
- 31:56Speaker 2: people that I felt like very similarly towards you, like
- 31:59Speaker 2: like I felt about you, but I felt mostly with
- 32:03Speaker 2: that with Alex when she was on Paradise, Like I
- 32:06Speaker 2: loved watching Alex on Paradise.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Yes, no, I feel like she really got to shine
- 32:10Speaker 4: on Paradise. I loved watching her on that. I love
- 32:13Speaker 4: watching them and Bailey and Risa and Zoe and Aliciat
- 32:18Speaker 4: like all, Like I just we got so lucky with
- 32:21Speaker 4: the girls on our season, Like I really like, we
- 32:25Speaker 4: got so so lucky. There's we got so many good ones.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Would there have been anybody from Vaccination that you would
- 32:30Speaker 2: have put on your list if you had gone to Paradise?
- 32:33Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 32:34Speaker 4: So That's why I didn't go, because I was just
- 32:36Speaker 4: kind of okay, like who am I going? Like that
- 32:40Speaker 4: was like the conversations that I was having is I
- 32:41Speaker 4: was like, not to be mean, but like, I like,
- 32:45Speaker 4: there's not anyone that I'm like, ooh, like I really hope,
- 32:48Speaker 4: you know, what I mean.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, well so you're open to it for the future. Sure, yeah, okay, cool,
- 32:56Speaker 2: Just wasn't a good time?
- 32:58Speaker 3: All right?
- 32:58Speaker 2: Good? Well, I hope that this cass is full of
- 33:01Speaker 2: cute guys that you would like to date.
- 33:03Speaker 3: In Paradise the other day. No, they look great.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, some of them are from Utah.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I know. I saw there's actually a few.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes sense. I'm glad that they did that.
- 33:13Speaker 2: But then you could probably just meet those guys whenever
- 33:16Speaker 2: they go home.
- 33:17Speaker 3: No, I think I have actually a few.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Oh really just before they went to go film.
- 33:23Speaker 4: No. No, like just from living in Utah for like
- 33:26Speaker 4: forever and ever and ever.
- 33:28Speaker 3: It's just small. It's a small Wow, Ashley, you should come.
- 33:31Speaker 3: You have to come out one time.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I've been to Salt like once, and I've been to
- 33:36Speaker 2: which the other place an hour away, the bougie place
- 33:39Speaker 2: Parks Yeah, yeah, park City. Both are so nice. Yep,
- 33:43Speaker 2: I love it. Yeah, so nice. The air is like
- 33:46Speaker 2: crisp there. It just like tastes like fresh.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Is It's like it's cold and it's sharp. No. Yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 3: but it's it's a small, small place.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Do you have any thoughts of these guys that you see.
- 34:00Speaker 3: There's a lot of cuties. Yeah. No, I'm excited for her.
- 34:03Speaker 4: I think, like I'm excited for her to kind of
- 34:06Speaker 4: like dip her toe in a fresh pool of different people,
- 34:09Speaker 4: kind of like outside of Utah, and I think.
- 34:14Speaker 3: It'll be good. Like I'm I'm so excited to watch.
- 34:18Speaker 2: So you're saying that you like feel like some of
- 34:20Speaker 2: those faces are familiar on the list, And my producer
