Islanders Pass on Laine | New York Islanders News
The New York Islanders are reportedly passing on Patrik Laine, despite his scoring pedigree and belief he’s still an NHL player — even after a goal drought since April 2025 and a core muscle surgery that sidelined him. While he could energize their struggling power play, the Islanders see limited fit for him at even strength amid a crowded forward group, especially with Kyle Palmieri healthy and young talent rising. A tryout deal seems likely, but long-term plans don’t align — unless Laine signs elsewhere and proves himself before camp. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow…
