- 0:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:58SPEAKER_05: ESPN NFL Fantasy draft.
- 1:01SPEAKER_08: Well, technically it's all Disney.
- 1:03SPEAKER_08: Oh.
- 1:04SPEAKER_08: So it's the Disney football draft.
- 1:06SPEAKER_05: So what happened to NFL Fantasy um the other app that we had that just kind of just ESPN bought it or something?
- 1:14SPEAKER_08: Bought it or got absorbed or whatever.
- 1:17SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:17SPEAKER_05: Um Well, we're gonna we're gonna do our draft kind of live.
- 1:22SPEAKER_05: Uh and see um see if our league uh well actually see if our teams can uh I had a sucky team last year.
- 1:31SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 1:32SPEAKER_08: Not on paper, but right you just had you just had the worst luck.
- 1:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it was really bad.
- 1:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_08: So I don't know what happened to your team last year.
- 1:40SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna try and I don't know.
- 1:42SPEAKER_08: We're gonna see if cousin Larry can uh defend his terror his uh his title.
- 1:46SPEAKER_08: His title.
- 1:47SPEAKER_05: Who was it?
- 1:47SPEAKER_05: It was Larry and then Dom and then Anna Marie, right?
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:52SPEAKER_05: Or the other way around.
- 1:53SPEAKER_08: Was Anna Marie second?
- 1:54SPEAKER_08: She might have been second.
- 1:55SPEAKER_08: And then Dom was third.
- 2:00SPEAKER_05: So uh we have only ten people that today th this time, right?
- 2:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 2:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:05SPEAKER_08: We lost four.
- 2:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we lost four.
- 2:08SPEAKER_08: Lost Quinn, we lost Joko.
- 2:10SPEAKER_05: Myra.
- 2:11SPEAKER_08: Myra and Dom.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: And Dom.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: Dom Dom said he would do it if we needed him.
- 2:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but if it wouldn't have been even if he stayed in.
- 2:19SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 2:20SPEAKER_08: So we'd have to get somebody else.
- 2:22SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 2:22SPEAKER_08: So here we are.
- 2:24SPEAKER_05: Here we are.
- 2:25SPEAKER_05: Okay, um episode 304.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: Let's talk about uh well what what what did we do?
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: What did we do something?
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: We had a gig.
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: We had a gig.
- 2:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Skinny Elvis had a gig.
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: Skinny Elvish.
- 2:34SPEAKER_05: Uh at the Crown of Main Balloon Festival.
- 2:37SPEAKER_05: And it was good, I thought.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: I mean I I thought it went well.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think we uh the first the first set to me was better than the second.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Um and I the the lesson I learned from that is when we're in rehearsal and we would go down the set list and we say, We're good with that one, should we do that one?
- 2:57SPEAKER_05: And we all say, Oh, we're good.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: We don't we should do it.
- 3:03SPEAKER_05: Because there was a couple songs there.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: Uh one of the ones by Tonic I completely forgot the song.
- 3:11SPEAKER_05: And uh it was like and then my pedal stopped working.
- 3:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was weird.
- 3:15SPEAKER_05: That was so so I couldn't uh um I couldn't boost my solos or anything, so you probably couldn't hear my solos because I don't think Frank was paying attention that closely to uh to our set.
- 3:27SPEAKER_05: So but yeah, the first the first set to me was better than the second, but I I think all in all, I think we did pretty well and uh I think we had a lot of people stay.
- 3:36SPEAKER_08: Which surprised me.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, me too.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_08: Well it was fun though.
- 3:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 3:39SPEAKER_08: I had a good time.
- 3:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I had a good time too.
- 3:41SPEAKER_05: Uh so that went well.
- 3:43SPEAKER_08: I roached my voice and but it was I think it was just because I was it was like my throat was super dry.
- 3:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:49SPEAKER_08: Because on the way home I drank like a bottle of Gatorade and a couple bottles water, and I was You were fine.
- 3:55SPEAKER_08: I was fine.
- 3:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:56SPEAKER_08: So I think it was just d drier in a popcorn fart.
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: So uh that's pretty dry.
- 4:01SPEAKER_05: It is very dry.
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: It is very dry.
- 4:03SPEAKER_05: Um next up for us is next week, Star City Syndicate, uh September 10th.

- 4:48SPEAKER_05: And uh I assume we have a Larry Bull stage.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: I'm assuming.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming we we would, yeah.
- 4:55SPEAKER_05: Um and then I don't know why you're you seem quieter.
- 4:58SPEAKER_05: Oh, probably because it's resting there.

- 5:20SPEAKER_08: Which is not a big deal because it's in the back parking lot of the uh high school which is well lit, so I know that um it is.
- 5:29SPEAKER_05: Wow, that is a night gig.
- 5:31SPEAKER_05: Seven to ten.
- 5:32SPEAKER_05: Okay um and then uh Easton on Sunday the 13th is an afternoon gig three to five.

- 6:20SPEAKER_06: It's okay.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: It's okay.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: Um, because I don't know how long the draft is gonna take.
- 6:26SPEAKER_05: Uh I'm gonna get going on some of this stuff.
- 6:28SPEAKER_05: Oh, doo bidoo.
- 6:30SPEAKER_05: Uh I found three headlines on Ultimate Classic.

- 7:17SPEAKER_05: A bus driver was named Leroy.
- 7:20SPEAKER_05: And uh so they sat in the back, as you know they do, and they cranked this boom box, ghetto blaster, whatever you are.
- 7:29SPEAKER_05: Ghetto blaster, right?
- 7:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- 8:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: I'm not sure if that's not good.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it would not surprise me.
- 8:22SPEAKER_05: Um what other things do you remember about uh back to school?
- 8:26SPEAKER_05: I remember trapper keepers.
- 8:27SPEAKER_05: Trapper keepers.

- 14:42SPEAKER_05: Colored chips.
- 14:43SPEAKER_05: For what?
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 14:45SPEAKER_05: Uh every classroom had a bucket of these and nobody agreed on what they were actually for.

- 15:26SPEAKER_05: Chalkboard erasers and their dust.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 15:29SPEAKER_08: Remember, that was that was always fun, you know, clapping the erasers together.
- 15:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 15:36SPEAKER_08: Chalk dust.
- 15:36SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 15:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_05: We had uh so we had in service today for the elementary, and I've got I've got it again tomorrow.
- 15:43SPEAKER_05: Um and there's other people have it again on Thursday.
- 15:47SPEAKER_05: Three days of in-service.
- 15:48SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 15:48SPEAKER_05: Uh because of the change and everything.
- 15:50SPEAKER_05: They're everybody's trying to get ready.
- 15:52SPEAKER_05: And uh, but I am out tomorrow because I'm after no, actually I'm going to the in-service tomorrow, but after we're driving down, we're taking Eli to uh college on Thursday.
- 16:00SPEAKER_05: Boston.
- 16:01SPEAKER_05: Drop dropping him off in Boston Thursday morning and um staying down at camp Thursday night and coming back Friday in time for my seventh period chorus class.
- 16:10SPEAKER_05: So should be interesting.
- 16:12SPEAKER_05: Um I'll be wiping tears, I'm sure, on the way home.
- 16:15SPEAKER_05: No, I'm sure.
- 16:16SPEAKER_05: Um not mine, of course.
- 16:17SPEAKER_05: No.
- 16:19SPEAKER_05: And we're like, get out.
- 16:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah, get out now.
- 16:21SPEAKER_05: See you at Thanksgiving.
- 16:22SPEAKER_05: I'm just kidding.
- 16:22SPEAKER_05: When I took maybe when I took um not so much Olivia.
- 16:27SPEAKER_05: I mean, I was I was uh, you know, emotional when Olivia went, but she went to Bangor.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean she was close by.
- 16:34SPEAKER_05: I was pretty emotional when f when Jude went to Michigan because it was so far away.
- 16:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 16:38SPEAKER_05: Uh and when I left there, it was just like I didn't know how to feel.
- 16:42SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 16:42SPEAKER_05: Um I'm probably gonna feel that way with this one um because you know I'm a little worried about him whether he can take care of himself.
- 16:51SPEAKER_05: I think he can.
- 16:52SPEAKER_05: I'm pretty sure he can.
- 16:53SPEAKER_08: Uh but if you learn to uh you know use an alarm clock, I think he'll do a lot better.
- 16:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:59SPEAKER_08: I think that's his major problem.
- 17:01SPEAKER_05: He's a really good kid.
- 17:02SPEAKER_05: He's a really good kid, and he's a very smart kid, but sometimes common sense.
- 17:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's one of those one of those things.
- 17:08SPEAKER_08: Oh, sure.
- 17:09SPEAKER_05: But he's gonna and he's not that far away, but he's far enough away.
- 17:13SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Boston's what, six hours?
- 17:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 17:15SPEAKER_08: Five, six hours.
- 17:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and and I just uh I I'll probably be slightly emotional.
- 17:20SPEAKER_05: At least he's this one.
- 17:21SPEAKER_08: At least he's in New England.
- 17:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you know.
- 17:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and he's you know, one of Theresa's friends uh is a nurse down at one of the Boston hospitals and she lives down there.
- 17:30SPEAKER_05: So, you know, if he gets in trouble or whatever, he he she he she can always get someone.
- 17:36SPEAKER_05: So yeah, we're okay as far as that is concerned, but yeah, my wife is gonna be a a wreck.
- 17:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 17:41SPEAKER_05: Uh for sure.
- 17:42SPEAKER_05: Um anyway.
- 17:44SPEAKER_05: Uh so that's what I remember about uh school in the eighties, and and it a lot of it was listed in on that list.
- 17:52SPEAKER_05: And uh what are did we forget anything?
- 17:55SPEAKER_05: Um erasers on the edge of your pencils, but they still have those.
- 18:00SPEAKER_05: I mean that's um that's still fine.
- 18:04unknown: Yeah.
- 18:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm reaching now.
- 18:08SPEAKER_05: Um I have uh new music.
- 18:10SPEAKER_05: I don't know whether I want to hear this or not.
- 18:13SPEAKER_05: Uh only because it's part of a um it's part of a tribute album.
- 18:18SPEAKER_05: The Songs of Shane McGowan.
- 18:21SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 18:21SPEAKER_05: Uh but it's new from U2.
- 18:25SPEAKER_05: They did a cover of the Pogues.
- 18:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 18:28SPEAKER_05: Do I want to play it?
- 18:29SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 18:30SPEAKER_08: I want to hear it.
- 18:31SPEAKER_05: We haven't heard from U2 in quite a while.
- 18:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_05: So I figure what's I want to see what cousin Bono's up to.
- 18:35SPEAKER_05: Cousin.
- 18:35SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 18:36SPEAKER_05: That's why I forgot he was your cousin.
- 18:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 18:38SPEAKER_05: Oh, hold on.
- 19:13SPEAKER_05: Actually, like it.
- 19:24SPEAKER_08: Well, they haven't been uh they haven't really been anything for a while, yeah.
- 19:29SPEAKER_08: So I mean, I mean the last um well I mean as far as albums are concerned.
- 19:35SPEAKER_08: I mean, nothing ever since ever since they put out that album that everybody got.
- 19:40SPEAKER_08: I was just like, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.
- 19:43SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_08: And it wasn't a good album.
- 19:45SPEAKER_08: It wasn't.
- 19:45SPEAKER_05: So uh the was it the one before that that had beautiful it's a beautiful day.
- 19:51SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I think so.
- 19:52SPEAKER_05: That was a great album.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: That was a great album.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:54SPEAKER_05: That's the last one I remember that was really, really great.
- 19:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:57SPEAKER_08: Um and then and then the Apple fiasco.
- 20:00SPEAKER_05: Was that after that?
- 20:01SPEAKER_05: That was right after that, right?
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 20:03SPEAKER_08: And then since then it has just been like irrelevant.
- 20:06SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 20:06SPEAKER_08: So wait, was Vertigo on that album?
- 20:12SPEAKER_08: That wasn't that that wasn't that the album name?
- 20:14SPEAKER_05: No, it wasn't called it wasn't called Vertigo.
- 20:16SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 20:17SPEAKER_05: Hold on a second.
- 20:18SPEAKER_05: There was like something called Vertigo.
- 20:19SPEAKER_05: Something worth leaving behind or something like that.
- 20:22SPEAKER_05: Um hold on, I'll tell you.
- 20:25SPEAKER_05: Because I was Vertigo was on that, right?
- 20:29SPEAKER_05: I assume so.
- 20:33SPEAKER_05: All that you can't leave behind.
- 20:34SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 20:35SPEAKER_05: Let's see.
- 20:36SPEAKER_05: Because I know there was stuck in a moment.
- 20:38SPEAKER_05: That was a great one.
- 20:42SPEAKER_05: Uh Elevation was great.
- 20:44SPEAKER_05: Beautiful Day was great.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: No.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: Uh there was no Vertigo was not on that one.
- 20:49SPEAKER_08: That must have been before that.
- 20:50SPEAKER_05: I think it was after.
- 20:53SPEAKER_05: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
- 20:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it was after.
- 20:57SPEAKER_05: Uh How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb came after.
- 21:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and it was the title track.
- 21:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 21:03SPEAKER_05: Uh Vertigo.
- 21:06SPEAKER_05: I don't know that I don't remember any of the other songs on that album besides Vertigo.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: Wow, they had more they had more uh releases than I thought.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: No Line on the Horizon, 2009.
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: But that was their last full-length album 2009.
- 21:26SPEAKER_05: And they they did a few songs of innocence, songs of experience, and songs of surrender.
- 21:33SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:34SPEAKER_05: Uh and those were all 2014, 2017, and 2023.
- 21:39SPEAKER_05: But I don't remember any of the songs off those.
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: Because in tw by by 23.
- 21:47SPEAKER_05: Uh oh wait.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: Never mind.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: That was their greatest hits.
- 21:53SPEAKER_05: That was their greatest hits.
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: Those those also all of those albums were their greatest hits?
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: I'm confused.
- 21:59SPEAKER_05: Uh Uh Songs of Innocence.
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: No, that no, that one was um I don't know.
- 22:09SPEAKER_05: I guess I should just kind of stay in in the loop with you two, but uh they haven't really yeah, the one in 2023 Songs of Surrender was a greatest hit.
- 22:18SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 22:19SPEAKER_05: So that one really was I wouldn't I don't count that as an album.
- 22:23SPEAKER_05: Um this one, Songs of Innocence.
- 22:27SPEAKER_05: Uh looks like covers.
- 22:30SPEAKER_05: Uh maybe not.
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: Maybe not.
- 22:32SPEAKER_05: It doesn't really matter.
- 22:33SPEAKER_05: But it it's been a while since they released something.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: So it's nice to hear what they're up to.
- 22:38SPEAKER_05: But that's that uh I don't know.
- 22:40SPEAKER_05: I wonder I want to read the article because was this an old cover?
- 22:45SPEAKER_05: No, it says new cover.
- 22:48SPEAKER_05: Um but that sounded like old U2, didn't it?
- 22:54SPEAKER_08: Well hard to tell with U2 sometimes.
- 22:57SPEAKER_05: Anyway, I liked it.
- 22:59SPEAKER_05: I thought it was good.
- 23:00SPEAKER_05: It was a good cover.
- 23:00SPEAKER_08: I thought it was good.
- 23:01SPEAKER_05: Um I have, let's see.
- 23:04SPEAKER_05: Uh Annika Niles on stage pranks, proof she's settled in the city.
- 23:07SPEAKER_05: Oh, she's hysterical, man.
- 23:09SPEAKER_05: The working man.
- 23:10SPEAKER_05: At the end of Working Man, she had she does something different.
- 23:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:13SPEAKER_08: Last time I saw it, she was eating chips.
- 23:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 23:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:17SPEAKER_05: They have a whole list of them.
- 23:18SPEAKER_05: She put on this this uh mask or something, uh uh bag.
- 23:22SPEAKER_05: She put on a bag, and then and and she just gives these looks when they're when they're they kind of look at they they end the song the same every time.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but she does something different every time.
- 23:32SPEAKER_05: So and she's hilarious.
- 23:33SPEAKER_08: One time she drew pictures of them.
- 23:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 23:35SPEAKER_08: Did you see that?
- 23:36SPEAKER_08: I didn't see that one.
- 23:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, she had like this notebook, she had like stick figure drawings on them, she held.
- 23:41SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 23:42SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's kind of funny.
- 23:44SPEAKER_05: No, uh this one, uh Anakinaz clocks out during Working Man.
- 23:48SPEAKER_05: So they get to the end of Working Man and she puts a closed sign on and then she gets up and walks away.
- 23:55SPEAKER_05: Comes back and finishes the song, of course.
- 23:57SPEAKER_05: Uh we won't watch those, but I I thought that was kind of cool.
- 24:00SPEAKER_08: She's funny, man.
- 24:00SPEAKER_08: I'm I'm glad I'm glad they got her.
- 24:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah, me too.
- 24:02SPEAKER_05: Me too.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: Um do we want to because again, I don't know how long the draft is going to take.
- 24:08SPEAKER_05: Do we want to do some of this stuff uh now?
- 24:10SPEAKER_08: Uh I haven't heard from the judge.
- 24:12SPEAKER_05: You haven't heard from the judge.
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: Here, let's do this.
- 24:14SPEAKER_08: We could we can just keep going.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: Let's do this.
- 24:17SPEAKER_05: Let's do um because we're no longer doing the uh Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 24:21SPEAKER_07: We're not doing the movies.
- 24:21SPEAKER_05: We're not doing the uh poorly explained movies.
- 24:23SPEAKER_07: We're doing We're not doing movies anymore.
- 24:25SPEAKER_05: What's we are doing uh hypertheticals, Chuck Klosterman's hypertheticals.
- 24:30SPEAKER_05: Fifty questions for insane conversations.
- 24:33SPEAKER_05: And I've picked this one because I thought it was appropriate.
- 24:36SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:36SPEAKER_05: It's called uh Super Gorilla.
- 24:38SPEAKER_05: Okay, here is the question.
- 24:39SPEAKER_05: You say Super Gorilla?
- 24:41SPEAKER_05: Super gorilla.
- 24:42SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:42SPEAKER_05: Should I put some uh music on?
- 24:44SPEAKER_05: I should put some music on.
- 24:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I should have something or something.
- 24:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 24:47SPEAKER_05: So let's what what kind of music should we do?
- 24:49SPEAKER_05: Uh let's do uh do some like intellectual type music.
- 24:53SPEAKER_05: Let's do um let's do some like a movie soundtrack or something.
- 24:59SPEAKER_05: Let's let's see.
- 25:07SPEAKER_05: I'll just hit play on this and see what see what happens.
- 25:11SPEAKER_05: Hopefully it's not a commercial.
- 25:13SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 25:15SPEAKER_05: Are you ready?
- 25:16SPEAKER_05: This is a long one.
- 25:17SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 25:17SPEAKER_05: Most of these are long, so just pay just stay with me.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: Genetic engineers at Johns Hopkins University.
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: Joms?
- 25:27SPEAKER_05: I messed up.
- 25:28SPEAKER_05: Johns Hopkins University announced that they have developed a so-called super gorilla.
- 25:35SPEAKER_05: Though the animal cannot speak, it has a sign language lexicon of more than 12,000 words, an IQ of nearly 85, and most notable, a vague sense of self-awareness.
- 25:50SPEAKER_05: Oddly, the creature, who weighs 700 pounds, becomes fascinated by football.
- 25:57SPEAKER_05: The gorilla aspires to play the game at its highest level and quickly develops the rudimentary skills of a defensive end.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: ESPN analyst Tom Jackson speculates that this gorilla would be borderline unblockable and would likely average six sacks per game, although Jackson concedes that the beast might be susceptible to counters and misdirection plays.
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: Meanwhile, the gorilla has made it clear that he would never intentionally injure any opponent.
- 26:28SPEAKER_05: You are commissioner of the NFL.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: Would you allow this gorilla to sign with the Oakland Raiders?
- 26:36SPEAKER_08: Mean the LA Raiders, the Las Vegas Raiders?
- 26:39SPEAKER_05: Well, this is old, yeah.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: Las Vegas Raiders, would you allow, as the NFL commissioner, would you allow this gorilla to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders?
- 26:47SPEAKER_08: Actually, you know, as you were reading, I was like, man, this is this is a bad idea.
- 26:52SPEAKER_08: But then when you said the Raiders, I'm thinking, you know, they could use all the help they could use at this point.
- 27:01SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 27:01SPEAKER_08: You know?
- 27:02SPEAKER_08: I agree.
- 27:02SPEAKER_08: I mean, Max Crosby's good, but you know, a 700-pound gorilla would be way better.
- 27:07SPEAKER_05: We could get into the whole, I mean, the whole uh men and women's sports, animals and men's sports.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: Um, I mean, would you like I don't know, man.
- 27:17SPEAKER_05: That's that's crazy.
- 27:18SPEAKER_05: It is crazy.
- 27:19SPEAKER_08: I mean, it could a gorilla could kill somebody.
- 27:22SPEAKER_05: And supposedly, I mean, if you think people would a lot of people would say we're descendants from gorillas.
- 27:28SPEAKER_05: I don't say that.
- 27:29SPEAKER_05: I don't either, but a lot of people would.
- 27:30SPEAKER_08: No, those people are idiots.
- 27:32SPEAKER_05: True.
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: Would you uh as the NFL commissioner here's here's here's the thing that we're gonna do.
- 27:39SPEAKER_05: I'm asking you this question.
- 27:41SPEAKER_05: The next time we do the podcast, you ask me the question.
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 27:44SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: So would you as NFL commissioner let a super gorilla who can communicate play for the Las Vegas Raiders?
- 27:53SPEAKER_08: Well, and what is your Well, I mean, it's not a big deal, but you're gonna need a sign language interpreter.
- 27:59SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 28:00SPEAKER_05: Because he doesn't communicate other than that.
- 28:01SPEAKER_08: He doesn't communicate otherwise.
- 28:02SPEAKER_08: I mean, you know, how else are you gonna do it?
- 28:04SPEAKER_08: But that I mean, that shouldn't be a you know, even for the Raiders, that shouldn't be a problem financially.
- 28:09SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 28:10SPEAKER_08: Um I think there would have to be a caveat where you could only use them on fourth down.
- 28:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: Well, yeah, like he's the cleanup crew.
- 28:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he's he's your fourth down in special teams.
- 28:26SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 28:27SPEAKER_08: I think I think I think that'd be the safest, your safest bet.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Okay, it'd be like um letting uh let letting a teen werewolf play on your basketball team.
- 28:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 28:39SPEAKER_05: When you when you really need it.
- 28:40SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 28:41SPEAKER_05: That type of thing.
- 28:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:42SPEAKER_08: You know, you know, I I I you know, I mean, it'd be a huge draw.
- 28:47SPEAKER_08: Yeah, oh for sure.
- 28:48SPEAKER_08: You know, I mean every home game would be like sold out.
- 28:51SPEAKER_08: Well, even away games, I bet would be sold out.
- 28:52SPEAKER_08: Yeah, because they want to see the super girl.
- 28:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they want to see super gorilla.
- 28:55SPEAKER_08: Bring up the super gorilla, I want to see super gorilla.
- 28:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I mean it would be huge marketing-wise, right?
- 29:01SPEAKER_08: Be huge for the NFL.
- 29:02SPEAKER_08: His jersey would sell?
- 29:03SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 29:04SPEAKER_08: He'd have to be super gorilla, right?
- 29:06SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 29:07SPEAKER_08: Double zero?
- 29:08SPEAKER_08: Why not?
- 29:09SPEAKER_05: So you would say yes?
- 29:12SPEAKER_08: I would say yes with conditions.
- 29:15SPEAKER_08: Conditions.
- 29:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 29:16SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 29:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you're not just gonna put him out there every play.
- 29:20SPEAKER_08: No, that's not that's I mean, you I mean, really, you could put him out there as Iron Man and like play Iron Man football.
- 29:26SPEAKER_08: He could play both both sides.
- 29:29SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 29:30SPEAKER_08: But I think I think that would just be like overstimulate.
- 29:33SPEAKER_08: I mean, he's still an animal.
- 29:35SPEAKER_08: You don't think he would kill somebody?
- 29:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 29:38SPEAKER_08: There would be conditions, right?
- 29:40SPEAKER_08: You know.
- 29:41SPEAKER_08: I mean, maybe he could play offense and defense.
- 29:45SPEAKER_08: I mean, I don't have any problem with that.
- 29:46SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 29:47SPEAKER_08: I mean, because offense, he could be a he could be a great nose tackle for, or, you know, or he could be a great, you know, like left, you know, left, you know, yeah, left tackle or something like that.
- 29:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 29:59SPEAKER_08: Or left guard.
- 30:02SPEAKER_05: I don't know that I'd let him in.
- 30:04SPEAKER_05: That's me, though.
- 30:05SPEAKER_05: That's yeah.
- 30:06SPEAKER_05: You're the commissioner, not me.
- 30:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 30:08SPEAKER_05: Um anyway.
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: That's interesting.
- 30:11SPEAKER_05: That's a hypothetical.
- 30:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:12SPEAKER_05: Uh 50 questions for insane conversations.
- 30:15SPEAKER_05: And we just have it.
- 30:16SPEAKER_08: I mean, he's probably smarter than 75% of the guys out there.
- 30:20SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 30:21SPEAKER_08: You know?
- 30:21SPEAKER_08: So I mean you know.
- 30:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: Um, and so just so you know, I am pulling from the back and putting in the front.
- 30:30SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 30:30SPEAKER_08: So we won't so we won't get confused.
- 30:32SPEAKER_08: We won't get confused.
- 30:33SPEAKER_05: Nah, and these all have a um a title on this side.
- 30:38SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 30:38SPEAKER_05: So this is the well, it'll be easier to remember.
- 30:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:41SPEAKER_05: So I'm gonna put that in the front.
- 30:42SPEAKER_05: We're gonna remember Super Gorilla.
- 30:44SPEAKER_05: Super gorilla, yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_05: Okay, so uh, and it was it was kind of convenient that uh that one was about um football, because uh we do have the draft coming up in about five minutes.
- 30:55SPEAKER_05: Four and a half, four and a half minutes.
- 30:57SPEAKER_05: Uh I know very little.
- 31:00SPEAKER_05: Uh I admittedly, I am a fan of football, uh, a huge fan of football, but I'm a huge fan of watching football.
- 31:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 31:07SPEAKER_05: I like the strategy, I like the um physicality and the rules and you know things like that, and and just watching these guys uh do their thing.
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: I do not like like my boys, my boys follow stats.
- 31:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 31:27SPEAKER_05: Uh like to a fault, and they know they know all of these guys' stats.
- 31:32SPEAKER_05: Like Eli will come home and he'll be like, uh, did you know so-and-so uh switch to the Raiders?
- 31:38SPEAKER_05: And I'd be like, Who's that?
- 31:40SPEAKER_05: Because I don't, you know, unless it's uh, you know, I just don't watch it as much as I used to.
- 31:46SPEAKER_05: So the whole crop of you know players there are are new to me.
- 31:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 31:50SPEAKER_05: Besides people like Josh Allen and you know, the big marquee players.
- 31:54SPEAKER_05: The marquee players, yeah.
- 31:55SPEAKER_05: I know I know those guys.
- 31:56SPEAKER_05: Makua and stuff, uh, Christian McCaffrey.
- 31:59SPEAKER_05: Um, but this is this is so this will be a challenge for me.
- 32:02SPEAKER_05: However, I get to pick first, and I forgot how this works.
- 32:07SPEAKER_05: Actually, it's three minutes now.
- 32:09SPEAKER_05: Three minutes and fifteen seconds.
- 32:10SPEAKER_08: Well, it's the snake method.
- 32:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so that means I pick and then you're gonna pick last in the next round.
- 32:18SPEAKER_05: Right, which is not good, right?
- 32:19SPEAKER_05: Or it is cousin Larry picks next, and then uh my daughter Olivia, and then my son.
- 32:25SPEAKER_08: See, I pick I pick last in the first round, and but I get to pick first in the second round.
- 32:29SPEAKER_05: Oh, right, so that's good.
- 32:30SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 32:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 32:31SPEAKER_05: So uh, and then Finn, and then Eli, and then Anna Marie, and then John, then Jude, then Bob, then you.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 32:41SPEAKER_05: How many rounds are there?
- 32:43SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
- 32:44SPEAKER_05: Four, there's four.
- 32:46SPEAKER_05: Usually there's like seven rounds.
- 32:48SPEAKER_05: Five, six, seven, eight, nine, nine, ten.
- 32:58SPEAKER_08: Holy cow.
- 32:59SPEAKER_08: Eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, fifteen.
- 33:05SPEAKER_05: Fifteen rounds.
- 33:06SPEAKER_05: Fifteen rounds.
- 33:06SPEAKER_05: Holy cow.
- 33:08SPEAKER_08: This this could take a long time, and it could take Well, it it depends on how long people take to uh choose.
- 33:14SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 33:15SPEAKER_08: You know, if you pick right away, then the next person's on the clock.
- 33:18SPEAKER_08: You only get two minutes to pick anyway.
- 33:20SPEAKER_05: And uh and see, this is a new app for me too.
- 33:22SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna turn that music down.
- 33:24SPEAKER_05: This is a new app for me.
- 33:25SPEAKER_05: I don't know how the app works.
- 33:27SPEAKER_05: Do you know how the app works?
- 33:29SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 33:30SPEAKER_05: Um, like how do you pick?
- 33:32SPEAKER_08: I think you just click on the player and boom.
- 33:36SPEAKER_08: Um, because it's got the list of players underneath.
- 33:40SPEAKER_05: So what's the queue mean?
- 33:43SPEAKER_08: Well you that's who you want for your next round.
- 33:46SPEAKER_08: Unless somebody takes them.
- 33:47SPEAKER_05: Okay, so I could click on those.
- 33:49SPEAKER_05: Did you click on anything?
- 33:50SPEAKER_05: I didn't click on anything.
- 33:50SPEAKER_05: Oh, you didn't click on anything.
- 33:52SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 33:53SPEAKER_08: Uh I mean I'm last in this round, so I'm not gonna bother.
- 33:56SPEAKER_08: I'm not gonna bother putting anybody in the queue, so Yeah.
- 34:00SPEAKER_05: Well, I don't know how uh I'm I'm cu I'm curious as to how it's gonna how it's gonna look here.
- 34:05SPEAKER_05: Uh we have about a minute left.
- 34:07SPEAKER_05: So what uh we're we're gonna do the draft, and after the draft is done, depending on how much time we have, we still have to do the um mixtape.
- 34:17SPEAKER_05: And we still have to do the judge is typing right now.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: So we'll do we we'll we'll do mixtape and we'll do the wall of tunes.
- 34:24SPEAKER_05: Oh, we gotta do uh who dis.
- 34:25SPEAKER_05: Smash it.
- 34:26SPEAKER_05: Did we did we do who this already?
- 34:27SPEAKER_05: We didn't do who dishes.
- 34:28SPEAKER_05: Let's do a who do this.
- 34:29SPEAKER_05: I don't remember who who we were supposed to do.
- 34:32SPEAKER_08: Wasn't like, didn't Bob have something?
- 34:34SPEAKER_08: Bouncing Bob, I think.
- 34:36SPEAKER_08: Or bouncing bottom or painter bob.
- 34:38SPEAKER_08: Bob pa Bob the painter.
- 34:40SPEAKER_08: Uh didn't he have a couple bands?
- 34:42SPEAKER_05: Let me uh let me double check here.
- 34:43SPEAKER_08: If you don't have any money, I got some I got one.
- 34:45SPEAKER_05: Well, are we gonna do it while we're doing the draft?
- 34:47SPEAKER_08: Yeah, why not?
- 34:48SPEAKER_05: Because I don't know how how to do that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see.
- 34:53SPEAKER_08: Well get ready because you got 30 seconds.
- 34:56SPEAKER_05: I know, right?
- 35:00SPEAKER_05: What is that?
- 35:02SPEAKER_05: Oh 30 seconds?
- 35:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:06SPEAKER_05: I better pay attention.
- 35:07SPEAKER_05: 15 seconds, yeah.
- 35:08SPEAKER_05: I better pay attention.
- 35:09SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 35:09SPEAKER_05: So um I'll look for uh.
- 35:14SPEAKER_08: Well, if you don't have one, I got one.
- 35:16SPEAKER_08: Uh Justin, send me one.
- 35:17SPEAKER_05: Okay, we'll look for more Justin's because then I'll have to look at it.
- 35:20SPEAKER_05: Hold on don't do it yet.
- 35:21SPEAKER_08: No.
- 35:24SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 35:24SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 35:25SPEAKER_05: And you're on! So how do I can I just click on it?
- 35:31SPEAKER_08: Just click on the player, I suppose.
- 35:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, a lot of them say that.
- 35:38SPEAKER_05: Uh Christian Gary.
- 35:42SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 35:43SPEAKER_08: So now it's on to cousin Larry.
- 35:45SPEAKER_08: He's got two minutes.
- 35:47SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 35:48SPEAKER_05: Uh so let's do this.
- 35:51SPEAKER_05: Oh, he's wow, he's okay.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: That was quick, huh?
- 35:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:54SPEAKER_05: Uh and who's next?
- 35:56SPEAKER_08: Uh that would be your son.
- 35:58SPEAKER_08: Or no, your daughter.
- 36:00SPEAKER_05: Oh, really?
- 36:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 36:02SPEAKER_05: This is Finn's going.
- 36:04SPEAKER_05: This might be a quick uh quick uh Finn is at Finn is at his girlfriend's house, so I'm assuming that uh he's not going to be to pick fast.
- 36:12SPEAKER_05: Who Finn's at his girlfriend's house?
- 36:13SPEAKER_05: Finn's at his girlfriend's.
- 36:14SPEAKER_05: Actually, Eli's at his girlfriend's as well.
- 36:16SPEAKER_05: Well, well that's it.
- 36:18SPEAKER_05: I asked Finn, I said, You're gonna do the draft with us tonight?
- 36:20SPEAKER_05: And he said, I'm either going to uh um auto draft or I'll do it.
- 36:26SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, well well yeah, it's kind of the way it works.
- 36:29SPEAKER_08: Well, I wonder if it picks for you if you don't pick.
- 36:32SPEAKER_05: I'm assuming like if he's he's got a minute and a half left, and if he doesn't pick, then it's gonna pick for him.
- 36:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think.
- 36:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 36:39SPEAKER_05: So anyway, we'll see how that goes.
- 36:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 36:41SPEAKER_08: Who was who is it that uh who does uh Justin picked um Ghost of Paul Revere.
- 36:48SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 36:48SPEAKER_08: Um 20th of Main.
- 36:51SPEAKER_08: Is it the name of the song?
- 36:52SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 36:53SPEAKER_08: Oh, he is alive.
- 36:54SPEAKER_08: He just picked.
- 36:55SPEAKER_05: Uh Ghost of Paul Revere is awesome.
- 36:59SPEAKER_08: Actually, my uh Oh, it's on Diana Marie already.
- 37:02SPEAKER_08: Okay, wow.
- 37:03SPEAKER_08: This is cruising real long.
- 37:05SPEAKER_05: Um what is it again?
- 37:06SPEAKER_05: Battle of the ball ballad of the 20th Main.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: Yes, that's the song.
- 37:09SPEAKER_05: Um this is Justin's uh uh these guys are great.
- 37:13SPEAKER_05: My uh my son's girlfriend, actually, her and her whole family are going down to downstate to see uh the Ghost Paul report on Saturday.
- 37:20SPEAKER_08: Yeah, good, good for them.
- 37:21SPEAKER_05: Um so let's just play a little bit of this.
- 37:24SPEAKER_05: See, I'm familiar with this.
- 37:25SPEAKER_05: Are you familiar with this phone?
- 37:26SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 37:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Very it's folk.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: I mean it's like modern folk.
- 37:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:14SPEAKER_05: For sure.
- 38:20SPEAKER_05: I don't think Anne Marie is picking up.
- 38:22SPEAKER_08: I don't think she is.
- 38:23SPEAKER_08: She's probably got a game or something like that.
- 40:05SPEAKER_05: Are we allowed to play the whole song?
- 40:06SPEAKER_05: I don't know I don't know.
- 40:07SPEAKER_05: I don't think we are.
- 40:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Ghost of Paul Revere.
- 40:10SPEAKER_05: Uh just a highly respected and and loved main band.
- 40:14SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 40:15SPEAKER_05: Uh folk folk band.
- 40:16SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 40:16SPEAKER_05: Uh, and that's a great uh reason why, right there.
- 40:18SPEAKER_05: Uh the ballad of the 20th Main.
- 40:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 40:21SPEAKER_05: Uh that's just an example because all their stuff is is pretty great.
- 40:25SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 40:26SPEAKER_05: Uh they've played up here a few times.
- 40:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:28SPEAKER_05: I remember uh they've been at CPAC.
- 40:30SPEAKER_05: Um they've also I think they uh when they were first not when they first started, but in their because they've they they built their following, right?
- 40:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:41SPEAKER_05: I think they played at Eureka Hall.
- 40:43SPEAKER_08: Oh, they might have.
- 40:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:44SPEAKER_05: Tiny tiny place.
- 40:45SPEAKER_08: Uh that was a super tiny place.
- 40:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:47SPEAKER_05: Um not sure if I'm not sure.
- 40:50SPEAKER_08: I haven't heard anybody talk about it.
- 40:51SPEAKER_08: No, I haven't either.
- 40:52SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 40:53SPEAKER_05: Uh anyway.
- 40:54SPEAKER_05: So yeah, I don't think John is is doing the live draft.
- 40:58SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 40:58SPEAKER_05: Uh there's my son Jude.
- 41:00SPEAKER_05: Let's see how long it takes him.
- 41:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, he's already picked.
- 41:03SPEAKER_05: That was quick.
- 41:04SPEAKER_05: And here's Bob.
- 41:05SPEAKER_05: That means I'm next.
- 41:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 41:07SPEAKER_05: Who are you picking?
- 41:09SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 41:11SPEAKER_05: Come on.
- 41:11SPEAKER_05: How are you doing?
- 41:12SPEAKER_05: How are you picking?
- 41:14SPEAKER_05: Let's see.
- 41:16SPEAKER_08: Bob knows about it, right?
- 41:18SPEAKER_08: I assume so, but never know with Bob.
- 41:21SPEAKER_08: I suppose that's true.
- 41:24SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see what else.
- 41:27SPEAKER_05: So that was who this uh did it did uh uh Miss Judgeness uh send you something?
- 41:34SPEAKER_05: Uh probably can't do it right now because we're doing the draft, but she did.
- 41:38SPEAKER_05: She did.
- 41:43SPEAKER_08: By the way, uh she's she's uh Can I get you the judgment in a wee bit?
- 41:51SPEAKER_05: I guess so.
- 41:53SPEAKER_05: Um by the way, I didn't ask you.
- 41:55SPEAKER_05: Uh I'm assuming you noticed that uh some of the uh fun dungeon has been torn apart.
- 42:01SPEAKER_08: I did notice.
- 42:02SPEAKER_05: You did notice.
- 42:03SPEAKER_08: Oh, am I on?
- 42:05SPEAKER_08: Or is Bob still on?
- 42:08SPEAKER_05: I'm getting a phone call.
- 42:09SPEAKER_05: Scam likely.
- 42:10SPEAKER_05: I will not be answering that.
- 42:11SPEAKER_05: No.
- 42:12SPEAKER_05: Uh yeah, so I took the I took the uh the black uh sheets down.
- 42:17SPEAKER_05: Uh took some of the things off the ceiling.
- 42:20SPEAKER_05: Um I'm gonna get rid of some some of this other stuff, but it's just been, you know, for me to get down here.
- 42:26SPEAKER_05: Uh it's been taking a while.
- 42:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:28SPEAKER_05: So yeah, you can it's it's definitely brighter in here.
- 42:31SPEAKER_05: It's brighter and it's bare a little bit, you know, because we s actually see the cement walls and stuff.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: Now we now it feels like a basement.
- 42:37SPEAKER_05: It does feel like a basement.
- 42:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:39SPEAKER_05: That whole shelf is going.
- 42:41SPEAKER_05: I'm tossing that.
- 42:43SPEAKER_08: You know, I forgot there was a shelf back there.
- 42:45SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 42:45SPEAKER_08: So yeah, because it was hidden.
- 42:47SPEAKER_08: It was hidden by a black sheet.
- 42:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:49SPEAKER_05: Uh maybe Bob's not doing it on it.
- 42:52SPEAKER_08: Well, maybe he forgot or he's busy or whatever.
- 42:57SPEAKER_08: He's busy doing his thing, man.
- 42:59SPEAKER_08: Okay, that means I'm up.
- 43:00SPEAKER_08: That means you're up next.
- 43:01SPEAKER_08: We'll see what Bob takes.
- 43:03SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 43:05SPEAKER_08: Oh, I see how that works.
- 43:07SPEAKER_08: What do I want?
- 43:08SPEAKER_08: Who do I want?
- 43:11SPEAKER_07: And now on with the podcast.
- 43:14SPEAKER_07: What podcast?
- 43:16SPEAKER_08: We were doing a podcast?
- 43:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 43:19SPEAKER_08: We're gonna have to edit out about an hour of it.
- 43:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 43:22SPEAKER_05: I think we should make we should create a sound effect.

- 44:09SPEAKER_05: No, this is the right button.
- 44:10SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 44:10SPEAKER_05: I'm pretty sure.
- 44:11SPEAKER_08: Well, we'll find out in a second.
- 44:13SPEAKER_08: It's time for the show.
- 44:17SPEAKER_13: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.

- 44:28SPEAKER_05: Alright here.
- 44:30SPEAKER_05: So the question, let me read you the question.
- 44:33SPEAKER_05: Good.
- 44:33SPEAKER_05: It was kind of a long one, actually.
- 44:35SPEAKER_08: Well, no, we gotta do the past first anyway.
- 44:36SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, we gotta do the past.
- 44:38SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry.
- 44:38SPEAKER_05: I will I just the draft got me all just now.
- 44:43SPEAKER_08: We don't know what's happening.
- 44:44SPEAKER_08: Okay, so yeah, this is her judges, misjudging.
- 44:47SPEAKER_08: This is from last week, so here we go.
- 44:49SPEAKER_08: Alright.
- 44:50SPEAKER_13: Hey guys, those are really cool picks for this week.
- 44:54SPEAKER_13: Uh, best song about California.
- 44:55SPEAKER_13: Hey Justin, welcome to the group.
- 44:57SPEAKER_13: Um as for my judgment this week, it was a hard pick.
- 45:03SPEAKER_13: Um, I do enjoy Billy Idol.
- 45:06SPEAKER_13: Um, but I had to go with Doug's pick Enema by Tool.
- 45:09SPEAKER_13: Yeah, okay, of course, of course she's perfect.
- 45:11SPEAKER_13: It was hilarious.
- 45:13SPEAKER_13: And in my opinion, I quite frankly agree.
- 45:18SPEAKER_10: That's my girl.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: I know I know who she is.
- 45:21SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 45:23SPEAKER_05: I'm pretty sure anyway.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 45:26SPEAKER_05: The way she welcomed Justin.
- 45:27SPEAKER_05: Um I'm pretty sure I know.
- 45:28SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 45:29SPEAKER_05: But that's okay.
- 45:30SPEAKER_05: That's okay.
- 45:30SPEAKER_05: That's that's that's awesome.
- 45:32SPEAKER_05: I was right last week.
- 45:33SPEAKER_05: I just want to point that out.
- 45:36SPEAKER_05: Or whatever it was that I said.
- 45:38SPEAKER_06: Whenever I said the thing I did, maybe said back then.
- 45:42SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 45:43SPEAKER_05: I'm pretty sure, I'm pretty sure I'm I'm correct.
- 45:46SPEAKER_05: And that is that is okay.
- 45:47SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 45:49SPEAKER_05: It's it's mysterious.
- 45:52SPEAKER_05: She hasn't confirmed it, you haven't confirmed it.
- 45:53SPEAKER_05: We'll just leave it at that.
- 45:54SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 45:55SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 45:56SPEAKER_05: Here is this week's question.
- 45:59SPEAKER_05: You just got done with an epic 21-mile backpacking trip where the final ascent was a 1,500-foot elevation in just under one mile.
- 46:09SPEAKER_05: You are exhilarated, exhausted, and adrenaline is pumping.
- 46:13SPEAKER_05: You get into the car for the drive to the best meal in two days with your friends.
- 46:18SPEAKER_05: What song do you celebrate with?
- 46:28SPEAKER_05: What you don't know?
- 46:36SPEAKER_08: All of the songs from the Rocky franchise come to mind, especially I of the Tiger.
- 46:41SPEAKER_08: I'm still standing by Ellen John, and the stairway to heaven is kind of fitting.
- 46:45SPEAKER_08: At least the title.
- 46:46SPEAKER_08: But I think I will go with Pink Floyd's comfortably numb.
- 46:49SPEAKER_08: Oh wow.
- 46:50SPEAKER_08: LOL.
- 46:51SPEAKER_08: I climbed Pike's Peak back in my younger days, and when I got to the top, it was amazing.
- 46:56SPEAKER_08: But it was the trek down that was brutal.
- 46:58SPEAKER_08: Switchbacks are a beach.
- 47:05SPEAKER_08: Uh all I wanted to do was soak in the bathtub with a beer.
- 47:08SPEAKER_08: Honorable mention to No Excuses by Allison Chains just because.
- 47:17SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna fast forward just a little bit.
- 47:19SPEAKER_05: Here we go.
- 47:21SPEAKER_11: Is the red one home?
- 47:25SPEAKER_05: This is one of the greatest guitar solos in history.
- 47:28SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 47:28SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 47:29SPEAKER_08: Remember when we used to do this song?
- 47:31SPEAKER_05: Yes, I remember we used to try to do this song, yes.
- 47:33SPEAKER_08: I I thought we did okay.
- 47:39SPEAKER_05: I remember we used to echo.
- 47:42SPEAKER_03: Relax, relax.
- 47:46SPEAKER_06: We were so cool.
- 47:47SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we were.
- 49:08SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 49:08SPEAKER_05: Okay, what's yours?
- 49:10SPEAKER_08: Well, I'm gonna do Justin's first.
- 49:11SPEAKER_05: Oh, you're gonna do Oh, that's right.
- 49:12SPEAKER_08: Okay, good.
- 49:14SPEAKER_08: Uh, as for my mixtape, I cannot come up with a serious one, but I think I will use I'm gonna be by the proclaimers.
- 49:22SPEAKER_08: I think after walking that long, I would want an upbeat song and thinking getting in the car.
- 49:26SPEAKER_08: This being the first song that comes on would be hilarious.
- 49:31SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 49:32SPEAKER_05: We know this song all too well.
- 49:34SPEAKER_08: Oh, we know this song.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: When I wake up, well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: When I go out, yeah, I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: If I get drunk, well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: If I heaver, yeah, I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's heaver to you.
- 50:12SPEAKER_05: This always gets everybody singing along.
- 50:14SPEAKER_05: Everybody loves this song.
- 50:16SPEAKER_08: I don't care what genre of music you're into.
- 50:18SPEAKER_08: Yeah, everybody loves this song.
- 50:20SPEAKER_08: Everybody.
- 50:22SPEAKER_08: Alright, so let's do yours.

- 50:42SPEAKER_03: I haven't swept a wink.
- 50:50SPEAKER_05: Wait.
- 50:52SPEAKER_05: Oh, I'm so tired.
- 50:53SPEAKER_05: That's a different song.
- 50:56SPEAKER_05: That's the one I wanted.
- 50:57SPEAKER_05: That's the one you wanted?
- 50:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 50:58SPEAKER_08: I'm so tired.
- 50:59SPEAKER_08: That's what I was.
- 51:00SPEAKER_05: I don't know why I'm saying.
- 51:01SPEAKER_05: Well.
- 51:04SPEAKER_05: I thought I was like, no, wait a minute.
- 51:06SPEAKER_05: This ain't it.
- 51:06SPEAKER_08: Hold on a different song.
- 51:07SPEAKER_08: This one.
- 51:08SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 51:09SPEAKER_08: Here we go.
- 51:09SPEAKER_08: I think it's all the white album.
- 51:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 51:10SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 51:22SPEAKER_17: My mind is on the blink.
- 51:25SPEAKER_17: I wonder should I get up and fix myself a dream?
- 51:31SPEAKER_17: No, no, no.
- 51:33SPEAKER_17: I'm so tired.
- 51:37SPEAKER_17: I don't know what to do.

- 52:28SPEAKER_05: So um coming down off a mountain, right, and and a kind of a whole ordeal reminded me of a movie.
- 52:36SPEAKER_07: Ah.

- 52:47SPEAKER_08: Isn't that Kevin Bacon movie?
- 52:48SPEAKER_05: It is that Kevin Bacon movie, and I picked actually Kevin Bacon's version, the Bacon brothers' version of this song.
- 52:56SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 52:57SPEAKER_08: Keep walking on the back.

- 58:52SPEAKER_05: And he's he agrees.
- 58:53SPEAKER_05: Hootie and the Blowfish albums are incredibly nostalgic to me.
- 58:57SPEAKER_05: I remember sitting in your apartment listening to this album.
- 59:00SPEAKER_05: I'm ignoring Doug's input.
- 59:02SPEAKER_05: And hearing y'all play it at the Grange or whatever that place was called.
- 59:06SPEAKER_05: Every time I hear a Hootie song, I think of you guys along with all the artists you mentioned.
- 59:10SPEAKER_05: When I hear them all, I think of home and days of the past.
- 59:13SPEAKER_05: Yes, I'm getting sentimental, and what the hell is happening?
- 59:15SPEAKER_05: Okay, bye.
- 59:18SPEAKER_05: Uh side note, I threw my back out sneezing, so I was delayed in my ability to listen to this episode.
- 59:24SPEAKER_05: And then I said, You're old.
- 59:26SPEAKER_05: And then he said, shut up.
- 59:27SPEAKER_05: And then I said, I take that back.
- 59:30SPEAKER_05: And then he And then I said, You guys are weird.
- 59:33SPEAKER_05: And then he said, Learn from you, Dougie Fresh.
- 59:36SPEAKER_05: And you said, damn right you did.
- 59:40SPEAKER_05: And I just I did tell the story because um I think I I we I shared this on the podcast before, but when Dunn texts me, uh it's it's from Strange Brew.
- 59:54SPEAKER_05: Hey Roser.
- 59:54SPEAKER_05: Hey Hoser.
- 59:55SPEAKER_05: Hey hoser.
- 59:56SPEAKER_05: Well, I had my phone plugged into my car play, and I had the music on really loud.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_05: And when you sent that text, like you guys are weird.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_05: All I heard was hey hoser, like really loud.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_05: Scared the crap out of me.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_05: But anyway, so that's that's uh two votes for Smash Smash.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_05: Uh let's see, Cousin Larry.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry, the first one was Cousin Larry.

- 1:00:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_05: Uh I will pretend that I did not hear Doug's comment about the 25th anniversary album.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_05: This album is pure fun to listen to.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_05: All of the tracks are powerful.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_05: A great album should be evaluated on its merits.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_05: Which is true.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_05: So that's another vote for Smash.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_05: Wait, who's the wait?
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_05: We did.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_05: No, no, we did, we did uh Cousin Larry.

- 1:01:07SPEAKER_08: I love Hootie and the Blowfish.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_08: I would listen to them on at least a bi-weekly rotation.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_05: That's for Smash.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_05: What is your vote?
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_06: Mine is also smash just because I love Hootie and the Blowfish.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_06: And I love this album.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_06: I love, love, love, love, love this album.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_05: And I'm going to say trash.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_05: No! Uh only because.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_05: Hold on.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_05: Let me let me pause this for a second.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_05: Let me let me get this in here.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_05: Trash! Thank you.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_05: And the only reason I say that, and I think you understand why, is because I do have the 25th anniversary edition, which includes the original album, plus uh a bunch of other great songs.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_08: Uh oh, you got the whole coochie pop album on there, I think.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_05: Right, yeah, it's pretty much.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_05: Pretty much.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_05: Um I just I love the bass line in this song.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_12: Hello, as I sit and watch the tree.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_05: Needless to say I was outvoted, so it will be staying.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_12: It's a smash.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_05: Not even the trees.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_05: Great album.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_05: Crack review.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_05: Made us want to be a band.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_05: Um so you even though I have the 25th anniversary edition, I I guess I am keeping it! The original Nobody Else Gets It! The original album.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_05: Uh so that means I have to pick another one.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_05: Correct.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_05: Okay, so uh, let's see.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_05: Uh, I'll just play one of the song the first song.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_05: Not the first song, but one of the songs.

- 1:04:24SPEAKER_08: Okay, is this the footloose soundtrack or her albums?
