- Mark: Happy Wednesday, Jack. What's been happening, mate? Jack: busy, busy after rain last week. But yeah, all good. Mark: Yeah, it's been pretty shit, hasn't it? That weather has been awful. Yeah. Jack: shit. That rain was intense. Mark: That's it. Hey, just as always, I've got to ask you a quick question before we kick off. This one's brought to you by Nate. Jack: Mm, shit. Mm-hmm. Mark: he messaged me this one the other day and said, You've got to ask your brother this one on on the cast. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: So, would you rather have unlimited money but for every luxury item you buy, you have to buy a pizza na piece of Nazi memorabilia and display display it proudly in Jack: Ha ha. Mark: your home. I can't even get this one out. Or you have unlimited money But for every million dollar you spend, you lose one centimeter of your penis. Now I'm gonna add a caveat to that. It's not just one million dollars that you spend, it's one million dollars that your partner spends as well. Jack: million dollars and I'm done. So look. I do like a bit of World War II memorabilia. I'm not ashamed to put a bit of Nazi stuff around. So Mark: Ha ha ha. Jack: I think I'm gone with that. Mark: Look, you're safe that way, aren't you? As you said, after a million dollars being spent and your partner would spend a million dollars pretty quick, you'd have nothing left to give. Jack: yeah. Imagine having a giant eagle anywhere though, that'd be sick. Mark: That would be pretty cool, except for the swass stickers next to it. Jack: Yeah, look, just cover them up with something, right? Mark: Look, the the benefit of that is it doesn't say what Nazi memorabilia. You Jack: Mm. Mark: don't need to necessarily have big swat sticker flags. You could just have a luger or something like that or you know, those sort of things, yeah. Maybe an P five or something. Jack: Yeah. Yeah, look I think just with a centimetre penis I'm done so no. Mark: Yeah, there's not much there to play with, is there? Jack: No, definitely not. Mark: Alright, now that we've discussed that and Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: Jack's lack of penis length, welcome back to Fairweather Friday. I'm Mark, that's Jack. Welcome to episode six. Jack: Yeah, welcome. Mark: Yeah, it's been good, hasn't it? Six weeks in? Jack: has been yeah cruising through pretty quick actually. Mark: Look, we get around to Wednesdays or we get around to Tuesday and I'm like, shit, we've got to we we we've got to send a message and find out what we're talking about this week. Jack: Yeah. Mark: throughout the week I'm always, hearing things and I'm like, I'm gonna talk about that, I'll write it down, I stick it my phone, that sort of stuff. But then you get around to Tuesday, I'm like, I'll probably need to put this in a document somewhere. Jack: Does sneak up on you, doesn't it? Mark: It really does when you're busy and everything like that, so got a few good things happening in the way of F Fairway to Friday or F two F as we call it. we put the order in for our hats today. So we got them all marked up through Cap Kings. put the order in. So they should be coming out very soon. we owe Adam and Nate one each, I believe, at the moment. Jack: Very exciting. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Okay. Mark: I have become a social media master. Or something along those lines. Jack: Yeah, right. Mark: for those who know me, I don't I've never really done social media. I have a Facebook and an Instagram account myself, but I may have four four different people on either one of them. I don't actually know. Maybe put two posts on throughout my life. so yeah, learning the ropes of how to put a post on f on Facebook. So if anything on Facebook isn't right, it's probably me that's done it. if if anything else is on there that's right, it's probably Jack and his partner or somebody else who might have done it for us. Jack: Social media manager. Mark: That's it. Well I I had to do her job this week, didn't I? Jack: Yeah, that's right. That's right. She's on a second written warning now, so she's all good. Yep. Well We're stuffed. Mark: Next one and she's out. that what we're gonna do with that I don't we're gonna do then. We'll be stuffed. Jack: Yeah. Mark: That's it. this week we got the Golf War it coming out. We've a couple of good questions in there. weird shit of the week, of course, with along with our pub question and the locker room. There's been a fair bit that's happened this week actually in the locker room as well. Jack: Yeah. I just thought that all the sports are starting to wind down, but it's actually picking up a little bit, so Yeah. Mark: It seems to be, hasn't it? Hmm. we also got our first affiliate partnership. you found them on Facebook, I believe. Jack: Yeah, they just popped up on Facebook a few times. they're just starting up as well, so they're chasing creators and and whatnot to to support. So thought why not we'll jump on that bandwagon and see how we go. Mark: Yeah, so for everyone that's listening and hasn't seen us on Facebook, the company is W Energy. Basically they're an energy drink. they claim it's cleaner than a lot of the other caffeine products out there. they don't have any sugar in it. It's a powdered form, so you mix it in with water, give it a shake, and away you go. there's caffeine in it, a bunch of vitamins and all that other goodness. so yeah, it's W Energy, we've got a discount code. So if you are interested in any of their products, jump on the Facebook. I think we'll probably put a put a link in there just in the description of the podcast as well if you want to have a look at that. Jack: Yep, definitely. Mark: yeah, jump on and if you're gonna buy any products, use our code. That helps us and you get a discount as well. Jack: Yeah. basically all the benefits of all the other energy drinks without all the nasty shit in it. Mark: Yeah, that's it. we've got just a couple of samples coming our way in the next little bit too, so they should arrive shortly, so we'll give them a try and let everyone know how they are. Yeah, so that'll be good. I do have a question for you on that though. Jack: Hmm. Mm-hmm. Mark: What's the most embarrassing product you'd promote for money? Jack: Ooh, that's a good one. Mark: Yeah. Jack: I don't think there is one. I like there is no line to this, I think. Twenty bucks is twenty bucks, so I don't see a problem with anything. You know. I'm gonna hang bloody Mark: Twenty bucks is twenty bucks for your runt? Yeah, for Jack: Nazi memorabilia in my house so I don't lose my one centimetre of penis, so you know. No, bring it on. I'm comfortable. I've been to the beat, you know. Mark: True, so advertising on Grinder or something like that wouldn't be an issue for you? Yeah. Yeah. Fair enough. Well There's a shout out to Grinder for you. If you're listening. The beat. All Jack: And the bait. Mark: right. speaking of, what brands would you like to see us partner with? Jack: well anything golf related I think is pretty good. yeah, I hadn't put too much thought into it to be honest, but yeah, anything golf related. I'm interviewing motorbikes and racing, so yeah, I got the helmet back there. HJC, so you know, anything like that, I reckon. Mark: Yeah, look, I agree with you on that that side of things. And I think golf or sport related would be good. I also wouldn't mind a beverage company either, like outside of the energy drinks. you know, and even even maybe a sporting brand as well, like a fitness brand as well. to go Jack: Yeah, for sure. Mark: along with it. I think that'd be pretty good. and by beverage drink, beverage brand I mean, you know, maybe shivers or even Hahn or something like that, you know. That'd be beverage drink, yeah. Anything, really, anything. Jack: Beverage shrink. Great Northern, you know. Yeah, happy to jump on board. Mark: That's it. also, if F two F became a million dollar business, what's the first thing you'd do? Jack: I know, just keep going, I think, 'cause that's just scraping the surface really. So yeah. Mark: Yeah, that's it. Jack: probably try and do a lot more with maybe fan interaction and stuff like that. But yeah, just keep pushing. Mark: Yeah, sweet. I I like that. I'm all on board for that too. We do need to get some people on and just have a bit of a banter banter session as well, so that'll be good. Jack: Definitely. Yeah. Mark: All right, Golf Wood it's time. we talked last week about the breakfast pool and the mulligan Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: and all that sort of stuff. So I've got a question here for you based around that. for those that are listening, Jack hasn't seen a lot of these questions at all prior to me asking them. They're the most of the questions that I ask him are literally off the cuff stuff that I've put together throughout the week. Or someone's giv Exactly. Jack: I'm just as surprised as you are. Mark: So he hasn't given he hasn't been given much time to actually look at some of these. Alright, you're on the eighteenth green. You've shot the you you've shot seventy eight so far. You're four foot from the hole. So you you're potentially about to get a seventy nine. You're about to break eighty for the first time in your life. Jack: Mm. Mark: Me or one of your mates offers you a thousand dollars to pick up your ball and take the seventy nine. Do you do it or do you attempt to sink the part to break eighty? Jack: I'm taking that part every day. Yeah. Mark: Yeah. I I thought you I thought you would. So my next question to you there is what's the most amount of money that you would take to pick up that bull or is there there is an amount of money that you'd want to do that? Hmm. Tough question, Jack: God. Geez how some hard ones, It's gotta be I know. Fifteen, twenty mil, something like that. Like it's gotta be a lot because Mark: Yeah. Jack: I wanna see that ball in the cup. Yeah, I wanna break eighty. And it may never happen again. Like my Mark: That's true. Jack: biggest fear is that I've already played the best round of my life and I don't know it yet. So Mark: Mate, that's a fucking shame if you have. Holy shit. Jack: I know. But that's my greatest fear, right? Is I've already shot my lowest score of my entire life. I just don't know it yet. So I could grind for the rest of my life and get nowhere. Hmm. Yeah. Yeah, so they say, hmm. Mark: That is true. Yeah, they're having fun though, that's the main thing, right? That's it. I I agree with you on that too, because I don't think it counts if if you get to pick up a pick up the ball, take the mulligan, or you know, you you get a breaky ball on that round. It doesn't really count, does it? So if you've if you've sliced it into trees and first you break your ball and you then you hit your under eighty. I just don't think it counts. You've got to hit every shot good the whole way around. So yeah, if your mate's gonna offer you a grand or two grand or whatever, five grand or whatever, yeah. Jack: Mate, keep your cash. I'll just I'll watch this part, thank you. Yeah, well, at least I tried, right? Yeah. Mark: And then you miss three of That's it. Well that's what it's meant to be, I suppose, hey. next one as well. You have to choose one playing partner for every round of golf for the rest of your life. You can pick the scratch golfer who doesn't talk, doesn't laugh, and takes golf incredibly serious. Or a thirty handicapper who's absolutely hilarious, drinks beers and makes every round entertaining. Who are you choosing? Jack: One for the rest of my life. Mark: for the rest of your life. you can have the rest of the group as the normal guys and Jack: Mm. I gotta take the third handicapper, 'cause I've I've played with some pretty stiff people before and it's not much fun. So Mark: Well I mean a thirty handicap is the normal normal people you play with, right? Exactly. Yeah. Jack: Exactly. like you. Mark: And we just make it fun. Man look, Jack: Yeah. But yeah. Mark: I don't mind a serious round of golf, but I also enjoy most of the time when we go out and your mates are there as well and just it's all just a bit of fun. Like, you Jack: Yeah. Yeah. Mark: know, every serious shots and if you have a bad shot, there's someone usually laughing at you or laughing at the next ball or something like that. It just makes you feel so much better about it, right? Jack: Remember na we played Woodford, was it, and those pros were with us? Yeah, Mark: yeah, yeah, that was a competition, yeah. Jack: and that one guy was so serious about it that Mark: Mm. Jack: it nearly threw us off our game. 'Cause Mark: Yeah. Jack: he was just like deadly serious, didn't laugh, was yeah, stiff as a board, so yeah, yeah, I'd take the third handicapper. Mark: Yeah, I would tell you. I I agree with you on that Woodford too, now you mentioned I do remember that now. Yeah, he he was getting angry as well when he missed the birdie Jack: Mm. Mark: part or something like that. And fair enough, like it was a competition. But still, I mean like you're out there to you're out there to play. Like he wasn't it it wasn't a massive competition. It wasn't gonna get him anywhere or anything like that. It was just to win the Woodford No, it was the was it the Magpie Cup or something like that or Yeah. Jack: Yeah, I can't remember now, it was too long ago, but he could smoke a drive, what three hundred no four. It's about three hundred and fifty meters I reckon he could hit his drive. Mark: Yeah, that was that one. Yeah, the path five that runs along the back, he just clobbered it, didn't he? Jack: This Yeah. Yeah, absolutely smoked it. Mark: That's it. last question for the golf audit. would you want your partner to do a round of golf with us and your mates? Jack: Ho ho. No. Mark: Good answer, but why? Jack: Definitely not, and I choose not to answer that question. Mark: Smart man. Jack: I'm not as silly as I look at. Mark: look, I thought I'd get you that one. Jack: Yeah. Mark: I thought over the last few weeks, the last six weeks, we've talked about Liv pretty much every week. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: there's so much happening in in that space and it's changing minute by minute. anytime I look at the news or, you know, look at any website, something something about Liv's changed. So I thought I'd change it up this week. If we get time we might throw a little bit of Liv in at the end, but I don't think we will, so I think it'll be all right. the PJ this week and the D P World Tour and all that, fair bit's happened. Austin Smotherman. You may have never heard of his name before. I hadn't until I was looking this stuff up. he played at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. he started a hundred PGA tours and never won. This was his second consecutive win in a row. So he's Jack: Sure. Mark: played ninety eight rounds of golf in a professional level, hadn't had a win, and he finally did. Two Jack: Back to back. Mark: two wins in a row back to backs. that would be so hard to do in this sport, I reckon. first of all, getting your first win. Then secondly doing it two in a row. That's gotta be tough, especially when you're a young fellow. Jack: Nigh on impossible, I'd say. like Mark: I I agree. Jack: what a way to start your career though. You know, a bit of a slow start, getting what, a hundred starts you said. but Mark: Hmm. Yeah. Hundred starts, yeah. Jack: yeah, what a way to kickstart it. Mark: Yeah, that's it, hey. I guess though, w as a professional golfer, once you get your first win, do you think that mentally changes how you play golf after that? Like do you think it kicks kickstart you? And you go right, you the you then lock in after that, or is it just it's such a hard game. It's such a hard sport to be consistently good at. Jack: Mm, yeah. I don't know, 'cause you look at Tommy Fleetwood, right? And it took him a million starts. I don't know how many PGAs he's played, but to get his first win at the end of last year, I think it was. and he hasn't won anything since. So like he's Mystic Insistent, Mark: Yeah. Jack: like he's always there thereabouts, but you know, it's taken him so long to get his first and then he hasn't backed it up to date, so Yeah, I don't think it changes the way they approach their rounds. I think they're just Yeah, I think golf's just fucking hard. Mark: It's gotta be one of the hardest sports out there to play, I reckon. Jack: Yeah. Mark: Yeah. next question a golfer shoots twenty nine on the back nine and it basically saved his career. So he plays on the D P World Tour. he if he didn't finish in a particular spot on this one, he would have had his card taken off him for the D P World Tour. So basically he shot twenty nine on the back nine and basically saved his career. So It was it was amazing. I've I've looked this up. His name's Sean Croker. So sorry, Sean Croker. Produced the final round back night of twenty nine at the Genesis champion of South Korea. Jack: That's incredible. Around like twenty-nine for Mark: That's insane. Jack: nine holes. That's what's that seven under? Mark: That's well, I don't know. I don't know the course there. The Genesis Championship. Yep. Jack: 'Cause they're normally thirty six, aren't they? so yeah, that's incredible back nine. And clutch play, save his career, like balls of steel. Mark: Yep. So it f put him exactly a hundredth on the cards. So basically yeah, he needed that to win. Or actually sorry, not to win, to keep his career alive, really. Yeah. That is Jack: Yeah. Yeah. Just bulls of steel that I just Mark: can you imagine getting up on the the tenth hole and just going, I need to lock in, I need to do this, I need to do this and then actually just doing it? Like Jack: And then even get into like the fifteenth hole and you're like, Holy shit, I might actually do this and not fall apart for the next three holes, you know. Mark: Yeah. Does that change how he goes into the next next round though? Like he's he's just done, he's probably hit the the the best nine holes of his life. Jack: Mm. Mark: Can he continue this on? Does he fall back? Jack: I don't know, it's it's gonna be hard to back that up. And if he was just about to lose his card then maybe it's not the place for him just yet, so yeah, Mark: Yeah. Jack: time will tell. Mark: That's it, that's it. would you rather shoot twenty nine on a back nine to save your professional career or make a hole in one at Augusta? Jack: Twenty nine of the background. Save the career. Mark: I'd just got a holy one on Augusta. Jack: Yeah. Mark: Yeah, I'd I'd I'm taking the easy way out of this. Jack: Yeah. Mark: I'd just get the holy one and if that's it, that's the end of my career, that's the end of my career, at least I've Jack: Yeah, so be it. Mark: got that holy one on Augusta in front of everyone. How good would that that Jack: Yeah. Mark: be? Jack: I don't know. I'd I'll still take the money fr from the tour. Keep my card and just keep playing, I think. Mark: That's true. you could always become a pro down you could always become a pro or a YouTube golfer or something like that, so Jack: Yeah. YouTube Gulf. Shooting hundreds every round. Yeah. Everyone wants to watch that. Mark: Hey look, if if you get a Holy One of Augusta, maybe people would want to watch it. Jack: Yeah, maybe. Mark: Look, if we s if we play around, we broadcast and we put it up, are people gonna watch it? Might be fun, might not be. Jack: I'll watch it 'cause we're idiots, but Mark: That's it, we you've just lived it too. Jack: Yeah, that's right. Mark: did you know Tiger Woods could be designing his first golf course in Europe now? Yeah, Jack: really? I did not know that. Mark: so reports emerge on the twenty fourth of October, Tiger Woods could be involved in designing his first course in Europe. I don't know if it's been confirmed yet, it's just been talked about. would you pay double the green fees just to plan a Tiger Design course or would you just go, nah, not worth it? Jack: Nah, not worth it. Mark: No what? Jack: I haven't even played a Greg Norman design course and I'll live thirty minutes from one, so Mark: It didn't no, didn't he didn't he help design Brookwater? Or was that someone else? Jack: Mm, couldn't tell ya, but yeah, the popular ones down the Gold Coast. Haven't Mark: Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Jack: even played on those, so I'm definitely not paying any extra. And and Tiger loves his backstops as well, so they'll all be sloped greens coming back in. So yeah. Mark: Yeah, that's true. Yeah, it'll be fucking hard course I reckon. Yeah, you won't get you won't many amateurs on there or hackers on that that one. I mean Jack: Well Mark: everyone might try and get on there, but yeah. Jack: speaking of paying for rounds, what's the cause here? Royal Queensland. I Mark: Yeah. Jack: think it's like nearly four hundred dollars, it's like high three hundred dollars to play around there. Would you pay that? Mark: Holy shit. Probably not, no. I don't think I would. Jack: Hm. 'Cause even dodgy, it's like a hundred and ten, a hundred and twenty dollars around there now, it's getting pretty Xy, Mark: Yeah. Jack: so Mark: Yeah, that's true. That reminds me of the I don't know if you saw it, but I I did manage to put a s San Andre golf reel up on Facebook today. Jack: Mm-hmm. Yep. Mark: Basically there's a guy, he's laying in bed and his wife's next to him and the doctor comes in, he goes, there's a parasite and he goes on and calls it the golf parasite and he goes, Regardless of your financial stability, you know, your relationship with your wife and your kids and everything, golf is the only thing you're gonna focus on now, you'll spend Jack: Yeah. Mark: all your money doing it. That's exactly what this is. That's that's what happens when you play golf, right? Jack: Exactly. You just even people who don't play it, you take out for the first time and that one good shot and they're like, This is me. I'm addicted and Yeah. Mark: That's it. That is so true. That is so true. You could be having the worst round of your life and you hit one good shot and you're like, I'm back. I'm good. That's all I needed. Jack: Yeah. Yeah. And that's the one shot you remember. That's the one that keeps you coming back. Mark: That's golf. we'll jump into off the mark section today, as once again brought to you by Adam. firstly I do have a correction on something I said last week and the week before about Adam. I got it totally wrong. Jack: Yeah. Mark: apparently he's not an asshole, he's just a prick. So my apologies, Adam. You're prick. Jack: Yeah, right. Well I can I can see both sides of the story, so you know, especially with his what are they, Callaway AI clubs. Mark: Mm. Jack: Every time he hits a tree it just magically lands in the middle of the fairway again, so I don't know, that's a bit of Mark: Yeah. Jack: an arsehole move to me, but you know, whatever he wants to say. Mark: That's it it was a comment. I saw a comment on that he put down on underneath the episode five, on I think it was on Spotify. And he said, I'm not an arsehole, I'm just a prick so I was like, All right, Jack: Yeah, just a print. Yeah. Mark: gotta call it out, gotta correct myself there. Jack: And we do need to get on them hats for him too, because he is bald. So bald is a bad as us. It's it's the shiniest thing I've Mark: the old ginger Jack: seen. Mark: the ginger do ginger boys go on bald again? Jack: Yeah. Mark: I hear Adam, I'm going that way too, mate, don't worry. Jack: No Mark: this one, it's I'm gonna throw it in. It's not really an off the mark, like it wasn't something I said or did. I just think this is off the mark completely. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: it got brought up the other day, I can't remember where we were, but adults who wear matching pajamas with their partners, are they even real people? Jack: Correct me if I'm wrong, I might be off the mark here, but haven't you done that? Mark: No. I'll wear boxer shorts if that to bed. Jack: it might have been Christmas thing. Mark: Christmas shirts, yeah, I did with the kids one year. I did Jack: Yeah, okay. Yep. Mark: Christ did the Christmas shirts with the kids, which I'm okay with, like Christ Christmas shirts. Yeah. Yeah, wouldn't wo and it was with the kids. Yeah. Jack: Yeah, yeah, that's fine. Yeah, that might have been what I was thinking of. Yeah. look, no, I don't think they are people. Like get a life. Mark: No, I don't think so either. Yeah. Look, outside of Christmas, I don't think you should be wearing matching clothes with your partner at all. Ever. No. Jack: No. Never. No. especially if you're wearing the same thing. 'Cause then there's a whole other questions to be asked, right? So Yeah Mark: Yeah. Yeah, what the fuck? Here's the first one. Jack: You'd look great in the skirt, by the way. Yeah, I don't know about that. Mark: Yeah, thanks. I've got the legs for it too, too good. Yeah, no, look, you should never wear matching clothes with your with your partner. look, how I've seen those clips going around of when the women in the family buy their husbands the same shirt to wear at a family barbecue. That I'm okay with 'cause I think that's fucking hilarious. Jack: yeah. Yeah. Mark: I think that's good. Christmas you can wear the same shirt, but that's about it. Like you don't wear the same matching outfits. Jack: No. No, those it's videos where they buy the same shirt for like ten people, it's quite funny. Yeah. Yeah, I like it. Mark: It is, isn't it, when everyone walks up and sees sees everyone wearing the same shirt. I think that's pretty cool. I I I'll I'll give you that. That's that's okay. the other that came up as well is you're at a barbecue, it's usually all the guys congregate around the barbecue, right? They've Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: all got beers, someone's snapping the tongs twice, because you have to do that before you get every time you pick them up, snap Jack: Yep. It must be done. Yep. Mark: them twice. You could just make sure they work. that's socially acceptable, right? Jack: Yeah, a hundred percent. Mark: Yeah, that's that's how that's what blokes do around the barbecue. you you're not gonna you're not gonna leave one dude there and the rest you go sit down talk. You're gonna you go round, you talk to the guy who's cooking the barbecue for everybody, right? That's what you do. Yeah. Jack: Yeah, exactly. And what else do you do? Mark: Yeah. someone's obviously gotta tell him how to cook 'cause the guy who's running the barbecue never knows how to cook a barbecue, even though he's done it so many times before. So someone Jack: Exactly. Yeah. Mark: else has got to tell him. Everyone's gonna then give that guy shit that's telling him how to cook a barbecue, 'cause he's probably fucked it up himself many times. Jack: That there's only one other acceptable option, is that if someone's got a bonnet open and there's an engine available, people migrate Mark: Yeah. Jack: from the barbecue to the engine. That's Mark: That's true. And the guy that's cooking the barbecue isn't actually at the barbecue, he's at the car as well. And he just Jack: Exactly. Mark: comes back 'cause he's forgotten about the barbecue and he's gone shit Snaps his tongues Jack: The business goes, Hey, it's on fire, what's going on? Mark: That's it. Yeah. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: I like that. Yeah, you're definitely right about the car. the locker room. Jack: Yes, here we go. Mark: some massive scores from the Rugby League World Cup this week for both men and women. Jack: Yeah. it's a bit of a disaster the old world cup, isn't it? Mark: Yeah, I I don't know if they've picked the right teams this year. Jack: Well, yeah, you've only got certain teams to pick from, but I just I don't remember it being such a disparity in previous years. Mark: No. But like previously we've had like Wales, obviously England, Ireland Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: have been in there as well. they're no longer in there. And I'm I'm not sure why. Yeah. Jack: Yeah, true. Well they do have to qualify for it. So maybe they didn't make it, but yeah, some absolutely huge score lines and Mark: Yeah. I was at a barbeque on the weekend on Saturday when we watched the Australia England women's game. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: And we watched watched the Samoan PNG game first. That was a cracker of a game. I didn't expect Samoa to win by what they did. It was sixty four six in the end. Jack: Mm. Mark: It was a great game. I actually thought PNG would score a few more tries, but they just didn't look like they one to be out there on Saturday. So and then the Australian England sorry, Australia England women's game. look after about ten minutes you knew that England weren't gonna do very well. Yeah, it was insane. They really did seventy eight nil it was in the end. Hmm. It really is, yeah, it's like a T it's T twenty score. Jack: Yeah, yeah. The Aussie girls just want the floor with Yeah. That's a cricket score, isn't it? No. Mark: Yeah. But we'll just run through the scores. Australia V V G, this was actually a decent game. it was thirty two, sorry, thirty six to twenty two. Jack: Do you reckon that was a decent game? Mark: Well, decent compared to the next ones. Jack: Yeah, look, I think Australia performed fucking poorly. Really bad. Mark: Look, they definitely played against New Zealand. That was that was a crack of a game, but against Fiji, yeah, I'll agree with you. wasn't quite as good, wasn't quite as structured. Yeah. Hmm. Jack: Hm. They did change half their team though, so I'll give that. There was a lot of the big guns out, but still that was an awful game. Mark: Hmm. Result was thirty-two sorry, thirty-six twenty-two. New Zealand, Cook Islands, eighty-two to sixteen. Jack: God, that's a absolute flogging. Mark: it was. it doesn't get any better. England versus France, eighty two nil. Jack: God. Mark: Samoa of PNG, sixty four six. And Tonga and Lebanon was thirty six nil. The the game that I think we've got to watch out for this week is Tonga versus Samoa. I reckon that's gonna be a cracker of a game. It could be pretty tight. There's some good good players in both teams. I reckon if they're both on, it's gonna be one to watch. Jack: Well just looking at the the odds there too. Excuse me. Tonga's a dollar seventy one and some others two fifteen, so that's pretty close. Mark: it's close. Yeah. Jack: yeah, it could be a ripper game that one, 'cause they're probably the two standout sides of the comp so far. Yeah, looking forward to that one. When's that? Sunday. Mark: Sunday, seven five PM. And I think that's normal time. Jack: Queinz in time. Mark: I just want to go through the Women's World Cup results as well. We obviously talked about Australia Jack: Yeah, sure. Yeah. Mark: versus England. seventy-eight nil. New Zealand, France, ninety-two nil. It Jack: Holy shit. Mark: it look it's it's not getting any better. Fiji P versus PNG, forty to four. And Jack: Jesus Christ. Mark: Samoa versus Wales was seventy-six nil. Like it's not even entertaining at this point in time if you ask me. Like at w at what score should they just call the game? Like, do you get to fifty nil? And just go, look. We just we're gonna call it. Let's just finish it early. Jack: I think I brought up last week, didn't I? Something about a mercy rule. Mark: Yeah. Jack: You get to a certain point and you're like, Right, guys, yeah. We're done. Yeah, you know. Mark: Yeah. Look I watched the Australian England game with for the women's 'cause we're at the barbecue, but if I was at home I probably would have walked away after twenty minutes and just gone, There's there's nothing to see here, you know? Like Jack: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we had it on, but I can't say I really watched it. But yeah, it was an absolute demolition job. Mark: Yeah, it was no one's learning anything at this point. Like you're not playing, you know, to learn how how your team plays 'cause if you get in trounce ninety two nil like France did, Jack: It is Mark: there's nothing that you're doing that you can fix at this point in time 'cause there's New Zealand's just running around ya. Like, should Jack: Yeah, that's right. And Mark: they call the games off? Jack: it's embarrassing for the the players, embarrassing for the supporters. yeah, you gotta support your team in good times and in bad, but jeez, that's pretty bad. Yeah. Mark: It's it's pretty rough. I even four years ago, I might have to look up the results from the last World Cup they had. Was it this bad? Jack: I don't remember it being this bad. Mark: No, I don't either. Jack: like there were blowouts with the scores, but I don't remember it being like every game just being yeah. Mark: So out of the nine games on, I think it was nine games. Yeah. There was Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: two scores that were also look, I'm okay, there was one score that was close, and that was Australia vs V G. The rest of they were all just blowouts. Like there wasn't one other game that you could say was remotely close. Jack: Yeah, well the lowest winning score was thirty six, which tells Mark: Mm. Jack: you all you need to know, right? About where Mark: Yeah. Jack: the competition's at. I think they still need to run the comp, but maybe juggle the teams around a little bit better, perhaps, but yeah, it's it's pretty bad. Mark: Yeah, it's it's pretty embarrassing for a rugby league in general as well and all their sponsorships too. yeah. It's having teams get to trounce ninety two nil, like in a rugby league. Jack: Yeah. It's not fun for anyone to watch. Mark: This is the World Cup, this is meant to be the best players of the best, of the countries, right? So Jack: Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Mark: yeah. Jack: I don't see it getting any better this coming week either. Mark: No, so this week we've got Friday night, England versus PNG. This sorry, this is just the men's games. I haven't looked at the women's games yet, so this is just the men's Jack: Yeah. Mark: games. England versus PNG, seven to five on Friday. Could could be close. Jack: Well, I'm just going off the odds here again. England's a dollar two, P and G's thirteen, so they're Mark: Maybe not then. Jack: they're not saying it's gonna be close, but Mark: New Zealand Fiji won't be close. Jack: No, again the odds, dollar one for New Zealand, Fiji's twenty one. Mark: Australia, Cook Islands ain't gonna be close on Saturday at night. Jack: That a dollar versus forty one dollars. Mark: Lebanon and France. This one might be, but I'm still gonna go Lebanon over France to be honest with you. Jack: It could turn into a good game. It could just be an absolute floggin, but Lebanon's a dollar at three and France is thirteen. Mark: And then obviously Tonga Samoa, this will be a good game. I just have a feeling that Tonga Versamor. I think it's gonna be the game of the weekend to watch. Jack: Yeah. by far the tightest odds there, dollar seventy one to two fifteen. So yeah. Mark: Yeah. So that's that's gonna be your good game over the weekend. So if you don't want to watch any of the games, just watch the Sunday night game and just catch up on the results for the rest of Jack: Hm. Yeah, that's right. Mark: Yeah. you wanna t talk cricket as well? Jack: Yeah, I was watching a little bit of the cricket actually just before we come on. Excuse me. so Australia actually were doing alright up until Travis had just chopped it onto his own stumps. so that was their first wicket of this innings. but in that same over I just watched Marnus Libershane walk out there and just Get one off the edge, straight to slip. So two wickets and one over. not looking great. But Mark: I was just gonna say, Minus hasn't played very well in Test cricket for a while. Jack: Long time. I'm not sure how he's still good his job, to be honest, but look here we are. I would have dropped him a long time ago, but Australia's always been a little bit like that. Like Mark: Still hanging. Hmm. Jack: they sort of hang on to people a bit too long, but Mark: Yeah, we'll wait and see, I guess. Jack: Yeah. But yeah, the current score for this test, South Africa are all out for three hundred and twenty nine. and Australia in now they are ninety for two. So they've stemmed the bleeding from that one over, which is good. Mark: Good. That's all right. Jack: So Renshaw's on twenty seven of seventy five balls, Kevin Green's seventeen at the moment. and yeah, Labershayne out for a duck. Mark: Yeah, his time's gotta be coming up, sure. Yeah. Jack: It's it's gotta be time. Yeah. Mark: Replace him with someone else, let him go back, play state cricket for a while if you can or see how he goes. get back into form at some point. Jack: Yeah, and just quickly on the South Africa batting innings. Bloody Mitchell Stark, Dad and I were talking about him going, yeah, he's too old, we should get rid of him, get someone new in and then he comes out after lunch or tea or whatever and gets six wickets. You're like, right. What what do we know? Mark: He He must have heard you guys. Yeah. Jack: So what do you get? There's three ducks in there too. Four ducks. So Mark: Jesus. Jack: not bad bowling, right? Mark: You can still play the Nakani. How o Jack: Can still throbble. Mark: How old do you reckon he is at the moment? Mitch Stark? Jack: He's late thirties, I think, like thirty six maybe. Mark: Yep. It's gotta be playing havoc on his body bowling that fast for that long, right? I know d I Jack: Yell. Mark: know Brett Lee suffered a little bit. Jack: Yeah. Well that's the thing, how is he continuing just to run in there time after time? But yeah, he's doing well. Mark: Maybe he's using W energy. Jack: A hundred percent it is. It's not just water in them bubbles. Mark: Or something at least anyway. Maybe sports science has just improved. Sports science may have improved that much that he can just keep playing now, whereas, you know, twenty years ago when Brett Lee was playing however long ago it was, Jack: Yeah. Mark: sports science wasn't there to back him up. Jack: Well they do a lot of conditioning now, stretching and all that prior to which they probably never did before, Shane Vaughan was famous for just having a meat pie and a ciggy and hand on out there. Yeah, so Mark: And a couple of cartons of beer. And some of the other stuff. Jack: Yeah. So, yeah, it it's definitely changed, but Mark: Yeah. I want to talk about that later on as well, like the the Shane Warren, the John Daly, you know, mentality around sport. Jack: Yeah. Mark: you know, we'll talk about that probably next week. I'll make a note of it to talk about it. How many athletes out there have just gone out and played? You know, drink all night, smoke some darries while they're out playing? You know, John Daly was notorious for drinking on the job. we'll we'll play rounds. Jack: He said he beat Tiger when he was hung over, so Yeah. Yeah, Mark: Yeah. Imagine what he could do if he if he wasn't hungover, but then he probably wouldn't be playing that well either. Jack: maybe he needs it, yeah, a bit like Cam Munster a few years ago. Absolutely killed everything and then stopped drinking and now he's useless. Mark: Yeah. That's it. Yeah, so we'll talk about next week 'cause there's a few other sports personalities out there that are that are on that bandwagon. I was going to talk about this week, but we'll save it for next week 'cause you brought it up. The race on Saturday. Actually there was meant to be two races on Saturday. Jack: yeah, so there were two races on Saturday. Luckily. But so we had the supercars at Gold Coast and the sprint race for the Moto GP at Phillip Island. so Gold Coast was a very wet race. they started behind a safety car rather than their standing start. Which I think, you know, for safety aspects I guess good on but I prefer to see a standing start. But this is where we were talking about last week where the drivers are just so good now that there was not a single safety car in that entire race. So Mark: Yeah. Jack: no one crashed. It was just yeah, green flag, go to war. but I actually kind of enjoyed it. I normally hate wet races because it takes the the speed out of it, but there's a lot of intensity in it. Mark: Yeah, there certainly was a Jack: And it looked like everyone was just having little moments here and there and pit stops were pretty critical and yeah, so I I actually enjoyed that race. and yeah, Chas Mostett he gets webbed feet when he w when it rains and he's unstoppable, so he he won that Saturday race. Mark: He did, yeah. Yep. Jack: Reynolds second, which it's long time between drinks for him on the podium. Mark: Yeah, when was the last time he got up there? Jack: Well I couldn't tell you, but yeah, he's it's been a while. Mark: Yeah, he would have been stoked with that win or second place though. Yeah. Jack: Yeah. Yeah, he looked pretty happy about it. and yeah, Matt Payne third ran out the podium there. Mark: Yep, that's good. Jack: and then yeah, we'll quickly duck over to Moto GP in the sprint race. Hmm. Mark: Yeah, actually before before we do, one of my mates went to the Gold Coast on the weekend to watch the race with his mates, with his son Jack: All right. Mark: and his son's mates. His son does the E racing in his spare time. So Jack: All right. Mark: absolutely loves it, has a good time doing that. he reckons the Porsche cup on the weekend was electric. He said it was probably the best racing of the weekend. Just watching the Porsches run around that track. He said, you know, even the supercars are good, but the Porsches on that track he ri just reckons are so good. this they're tiny little cars and they just flog around those corners. he said, if you have to watch one race over the weekend, the Porsche Cup down the Gold Coast is the one to watch, Jack: Yeah, they are good racing. Sorry, good races as well because they're a little bit like go karts and just how like tightly sprung they are and they're bouncy and they're they're always moving around. Like supercars look pretty sort of not easy to drive, but they're sort of pretty predictable. Whereas the Mark: Yeah. Jack: Porsches they're like locking rears and they're sliding sideways and they're a bit touchy and they're really turn like nose heavy. So yeah, they are good races. Mark: Yeah, it was reckons it was great to watch. Great to be there and see as well. Yeah. yeah, so you want to move on to the Moto G P? Hmm. Jack: Yeah, just the the sprint race there. so that was a dry race for him, thankfully. But I I think it was only twelve, fourteen laps, something that, but his first few laps with Jorge Martin, how Mark Marquez just go on for it. That was some of the best racing I've seen in a while. unfortunately, Jorge Martin dropped the ball and had probably one of the fastest crashes I've seen. he he put put it down at about two hundred and thirty K an hour. Did easily twenty barrel rolls himself through the gravel and Mark: Jesus. Jack: got cutted off on the stretcher, so reports are he's okay. early reports Mark: That's good. Jack: was a fractured wrist, perhaps, but I don't know, he seems to be half clear to that. There's n they're being a bit cage around details, I think, 'cause he's so close in the championship, so yeah, we'll watch that space for next round. Mark: Man, that's that's insane. Coming off at two hundred Ks an hour and the worst you have is a possible fractured wrist. Like Jack: Hmm. Mark: that's their suits must be insane. That Jack: Yeah, well they got the airbag seats now as well, right? So as soon as they come off they puff up. Mark: Yeah. Yep. Jack: but yeah, the way he was barrel rolling through that gravel trap was like you see his feet hitting them these hands and like it's all like ragged all in through it, like, ugh. Mark: Walk away with a few bruises at least, Mm. Those airbag Jack: No, a hundred percent. Mark: suits like they've got to be good, but there's only so much they could probably do for you when you're at two hundred gs an hour plus and you come off one of those bikes. Mm. Jack: Yeah, but yeah. Yeah, you're still at the the whim of literally everything. You know, Mark: Yeah. Jack: once you're off the bike you're like, I'm a passenger now and see where we end up. Mark: I'm along for the ride and we'll see where we go. Yeah. Jack: Yeah, it did open up the championship a little bit. think it's ten points between now. Mark is back on top, so hopefully Martin's okay to race for the next couple of rounds and we get a good championship battle. Mark: Yeah, fingers crossed, Fingers crossed. And then it all got cancelled on Sunday. Jack: Yeah, unfortunately. they pushed it back, pushed it back, pushed it back to the point where they just had to can it. just too much rain, too much weather around. I believe the reason they canned it was because the the medical helicopter had poor visibility and couldn't get to the track or got away from the track one or the two. so the riders were happy to have a go. yeah. Safety comes first and because there's only one Mark: That's it. Jack: road on and off that island, they had to ground the helicopter. Mark: Yeah, fair enough. I suppose yeah, they've got to be careful with all that sort of stuff, but you know, especially at the speeds they go, you don't wanna have it come off and break your neck and have to be rushed to the hospital or something and yeah. Because the helicopter couldn't Jack: Hm. Sitting six hours of traffic trying to get off the the island, yeah. Mark: Yeah, that's it. It wouldn't be much fun, but disappointing though, 'cause yeah, if the riders want to do it, then yeah, they should, I guess. Jack: Yeah, and and more disappointing that it's the last race ever at Phillip Island. And they didn't get to run it, so Mark: Hm. Yeah, I forgot about that actually. Jack: yeah, I think the crowd are all pumped up. Jack Miller had a special livery on his bike for it. yeah, just never got to to run it. Mark: That's a shame, That's disappointing, but these things happen I suppose. You know, that maybe they just need to get the the pilots from the the night stalkers, if you know them. Yeah. Jack: Yeah. Yeah. Mark: They would have flown in that weather. Jack: the riders did go out on the bikes and just do a bit of a parade lap thing, wave to the fans and whatnot, so that was kinda cool. yeah, no race on Sunday unfortunately. Hmm. Mark: Disappointing. speaking of races though, what were you doing when you were twenty? Jack: twenty. Mark: twenty. Jack: Jeez, that's too long ago, you're gonna have to narrow it down for me, I think. Mark: Alright, I'll narrow it down for you in a different way. Kimmy Antonelli. Jack: Nah, yeah. Mark: Twenty year old dude. He just needs to finish ninth or better at Mexico and he's won the championship at twenty. Jack: Incredible enough. Mark: Mate, it it doesn't matter what Russell or Hamilton do at this point in time, as long as Kimmy finishes ninth or better, it's all over for him. It's all over him. Jack: Yep. Absolutely incredible. Mark: Man, at twenty, can you imagine that? Insane. Jack: Yeah. I I just hope it carries on for him, If he does actually well, he's gonna win it, let's be real. But I just hope it carries on for him after that. Like it's not just a a one and done sort of deal, Mark: Yeah. Jack: so yeah. Mark: Well the thing is he's only won what was it, eight or nine races this year. That's all he's won this year. It's it's not many. Jack: Yeah, it's something like that. He's got a lot of podiums though. Mark: Yeah, he has got a lot of podiums but hasn't won all that many. It's just the Jack: Yeah. Mark: other guys have only either one or come past six or eighth or something like that, so just to get his points up. So i i is this a almost like Stephen Bradbury or is the kid a very good driver in his own right and he's just coming into his own stead? Jack: I think I think he's pretty good. you know, I said last week about a false champion and I still I don't believe it, I've just heard those things getting thrown around. Mark: Yeah. Jack: But I don't know if it's Stephen Bradbury 'cause he's sort of been in control of a championship for a long time now. He's yeah, he deserves it, definitely. Mark: He's he's a hundred percent putting the work for a young fella. Jack: Yeah. Mark: yeah. Jack: Yeah, so yeah, I'm just looking at the standings there now, so yeah, him and George Russell, so the two Mercedes, one and two. You gotta be happy with that, right? Mm, Mark: Hmm. Mercedes certainly would be too e. Jack: yeah. Mark: Yeah. he's probably the well, he's obviously the youngest one out there at the moment. and you look at Russell and and Hamilton and stuff, they're what, early thirties almost now? Or Jack: I actually think Hamilton's in his forties. Mark: Yeah, okay. Yeah, he's so he's gotta be retiring soon. So once he goes, you've got, you know, there's still a number of good good drivers there, but he's the youngest one, so he's probably gonna be out there for such let's say another twenty years at least. I would like to say he's gonna win a couple more championships in his time. Jack: Yeah, well that's the thing, right? he wins this one and then he falls off the perch for three, four, five years. Is he dropped? like this is where he Mark: Yeah. Jack: needs to like really keep the momentum going, so Mark: Look, I'll I'll say that if he was an Australian driver and he fell off the perch after winning a championship for two or three years, he'd get dropped a hundred percent. Mark Jack: Hm. a hundred percent. Mark: Webber and Daniel Ricardo, that's happened to both of those guys, you know, they got screwed over by their teams many times. You know. Good drivers. Yeah. Jack: Hmm. Yeah, they're not champions, but definitely good drivers. Mark: Good drivers in their own right, yeah. I'm gonna change the tone here a little bit. Something on after last week, The weird shit of the week with the two dudes dressed his nights justing. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: After talking about that, obviously Facebook listens to you and all that sort of shit. I was scrolling through reels the other day and armored MMA came on. And Jack: MMA. Mark: armored MMA, dudes dressed up as knights, fighting each other in a cage with swords, axes, and maces. It was awesome. Like honestly, I was sitting there watching. I literally went in and just I I reckon I watched all of their reels that night. Like just sitting there going, Jack: Yeah. Mark: This is cool, this is cool, this is cool. 'cause MMA Jack: Shit yeah. Mark: was MMA was boring enough as it was, right? so you have to get dudes dressed up in armored, Jack: yeah. Mark: with genuine steel weapons, beating the shit out of each other. they have three two minute rounds, weapon like thrusting weapons and chokeholds are also okay in this Jack: Ha ha Mark: there are some rules. I don't know all of them, I haven't looked into it yet, but yeah, there's certain things you can choke each other, you can hit each other with your with your sword and axe and mace and stuff like that. looking at some stats and the armor weighs up to thirty kilos or more. Jack: There are. Mark: they've got twenty shows over the course of twenty twenty six. So they're doing what, nearly two a month, you know? They've Jack: Yeah, Jesus. Mark: got to be fit. There's a there's a world championship too in Denmark, this year. six hundred fighters literally get to beat the fuck out of each other in armor. Like what a sport. How I've never heard of this before. Yeah, look honestly, Jack: So I'm signing you up, right? Mark: I'm gonna lose and I'm gonna get hurt, but it'll be so much fun. Jack: shit yeah. Imagine the noise punching someone in the helmet with your metal glove just ting ting ting. Mark: Yeah, or well they're they're designed so that way like if you get hit in the head it spreads the force around your head and not like so you don't get that blunt force trauma type thing. So the suits are designed so well, you're still gonna feel the impact. And they still do have some serious injuries, but the armor's designed quite well. and yeah, so you know, you do feel it, but yeah, it's you're not gonna get too badly hurt, obviously, but they do have some really bad injuries in there. But so yeah, I'd love to do it. I'm obviously a small dude and these guys taken Taking on their they're massive units. so I'm gonna get my arse handed to me, but it'll be so much fun. Well just to watch me get flogged. Jack: I'll definitely watch that. fuck ya. Mark: it'd be fun actually. I would love to actually both of us to dress up in armor suits and just beat the shit out of each other. That'd be f that'd be quite fun, I reckon. Jack: Yeah. Waders up, let's just do it. Mark: With swords and maces and stuff. Jack: Yeah, a hundred percent. Yeah. Adds a bit of risk to it, you know. Mark: Just no armor. Maybe we could do it on the cast, it'd be a live streaming death. That's it. Jack: No one and only. Mark: I was looking for prize money. There was no prize money advertised on the websites. apparently the if you want to call pros, they do get paid. but some of the armor costs upwards of like ten thousand Australian dollars. Jack: Holy shit. Mark: So it's not a cheap sport to get into, that's for sure. Jack: Just do it for the love of the game. Mark: Yeah, they must hey. And I yeah, I couldn't see any prize money, so like I'm sure they do win something, but yeah, it's probably not as big as MMA or boxing or anything like that at the moment. But yeah, keep an eye out for it. But check it out. Arm at MMA is what I found it on on Facebook saying. Jack: Yeah, nice. before we move on from the motorsport thing as well. You're Mark: sorry, I jumped in there. Jack: right. I don't know if you watched the Sunday race, but it was a dry race the whole whole way. And the whole final series thing is really sorta starting to kick off now. so basically Anton Di Pascali had a shot to get into the finals. But also Ryan Wood had his shot to get into the finals as well. Anton drives for Chev, Woody for Toyota. So Walk and Shaw tried to play the team game, got Jazz to slow down to try and get Woody past him, try and get him into the finals. But then Old Chev pulled a r you know, reverse card on him and started started pitting their drivers in front of Anton. To come in for fuel because they were running out fuel. Mark: shit. Jack: So that bumped Anton up two spots, bumped Ryanwood out of the finals. Was there a bit of team play there, you reckon? They they reckon there isn't. They reckon they they wouldn't have made the end of the race on fuel. But the first goal is eight laps short. That's a big fuck up. So Mark: Yeah. Yeah. Jack: I reckon that Chev's just walked in there and gone, oi. We want to be in the final series. How about you pit some of your other Chev drivers in front of this guy? Get him out of the way. And then you got three manufacturers in the in the finals. Mm. Mark: That's fucking cheeky. I agree with you. it's a strategic move, isn't it? It's not they're not running out of fuel. They're the boss has come along and said, Yeah, do this. That Jack: Yeah. Even supercars might might have got in the rear and gone, We I think we need to sort something out here, you know. Mark: man, I don't like to say things are rigged but is it? Bit of controversy. It's definitely not a horse. Jack: Mm. Walks like a duck, cracks like a duck. You know No But you know, Civic Gars have come out and said, nah, it yeah, they're running out of fuel, they w weren't gonna make it. we're never gonna see the the actual data to know, but I don't know. It smells a bit fishy to me. Mark: Did any engineers get fired over the weekend? Jack: No. But Mark: Mm. Mm. Jack: it did ruin a young fellow's race. Like Mark: Yeah. Jack: he was on for his best ever finish and they're like, come in, you're not gonna make it on fuel and so he's come in and yeah, he is visibly devastated. So I I really do Mark: Well then he's not running out of field then, isn't it? you know what's happened there. Yeah. Jack: hope for his sake that they're running out of fuel and it wasn't just a team strategy move, but I don't know. Mark: I don't think that shit should be happening. I get why they do it, but I just don't think it should be happening. It should be down to driver skill and you race you race to the end, right? Jack: Yeah, I've I've definitely got my tinfoil hat on for it, but it's it's just Mark: Mm. Jack: too convenient, right? That the only two cars that were running out of fuel were Chev's and they just happened to be in front of Anton, who needed the points Mark: Yeah. Jack: to get in, so bit fishy to me, but Mark: Yeah. Jack: we'll never find out, so Mark: Hm. I agree, it's it's certainly fishy, isn't it? Jack: Yeah. But for supercars, three manufacturers in the the final series, big tick. Chev's in the final series, big tick for Chev, It all adds up. Mark: It does, yep. Keep an eye on this space. Jack: Mm. Yeah, I think there'll be more to come. Mark: last week in the pub question we talked about a theme song. Did you come Jack: Yes. Mark: up with one for yourself? Jack: I did. It was a a tough battle actually. It's not an easy thing to come up with. Mark: Mm. No, it wasn't, was it? What Jack: No, but Mark: where'd you end up? Jack: I ended up with Can't Stop by the Chili Peppers, mainly because of the intro. I think it's one of the best intros. Mark: Yep. Yes. Yeah, it's such a good song. Yeah. Look, I I'll admit I did forget about this question over the week. I was sidetracked doing a lot of other stuff. look, Chili Peppers one of my favourite bands, if not my favourite. but I close second would be Audio Slave. So I'm gonna go with Coachese, just because of the guitar riffs in that. I Jack: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mark: think it's a brilliant song. The the tunes and stuff I think are brilliant saying. Jack: I like it. Mark: Yeah, I think it's a good one. Hmm. I like yours too, chili peppers can't stop. That's good. Jack: Yeah, it's hard to go past chili peppers in it. Mark: Yeah, it really is, hey. They've been such a good band for so long. Loved them from when we were kids, the pub question this week though. This is you know, we we've talked about people being so overly sensitive quite often. it came about over the over the weekend as well. but I just wanna ask you, how have we in general as a society become too easily offended? You know? We used to say, I'm obviously ginger, I was called a ginger cunt from about three. I'm pretty sure mum and dad used to be the ones calling me Ranger, Redhead and all that stuff. And then you get to school, mates will be doing it. You know, as a as a guy, if you're not relentlessly teased from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed when you're a kid, have you even lived a life? Same thing now. If you go out with your mates, if you're not getting teased or being called gay by your mates. You called me gay on the podcast the other week when I was signed off and went, Peace out everybody, like are you so gay? Like, Why are we too easily offended these days? Jack: A little bit yes, I think. It's character building. Mark: Yeah. Jack: Not everything's meant to be offensive. Everything's like we can have a joke, you know. And I think that's what's been missed is even comedians are getting in trouble for some of the jokes that they say. And it's not meant to be offensive. It's just meant to be let's have a laugh about it. Like, Mark: Yeah. Jack: it's funny. You know. Mark: It is. Corn you make gay is funny. Jack: But I think this is this is getting us cancelled for sure. But but Mark: That's what I thought I'd do it in episode six. Jack: like no one cares that you're offended. Like if I offend you, fucking good, I've done my job. Because you're a piece of shit. But no one cares that you're offended and no one cares about the reaction that you have that you're offended. Fucking it's a joke, move on. If you can't handle it, then you're Mark: Exactly. Jack: around the wrong people. Mark: Hundred percent, yeah. we're out playing golf, we give each other so much shit. I've heard your mates give you shit, your mates giving me shit and I've only just met them five minutes ago when we're playing golf. Jack: Yeah. Mark: Like that's it's it's the whole point of being mates with someone, right? Is to be able to say random shit to call gay, call a girl, call a pussy, call a dick, whatever it is you want to do. That's that's just what it is, you know? Like Jack: Yeah, Mark: you're not walking down the street punching a dude in the face, you know. Jack: Those mates from from work that you were just talking about. We just walk up to each other during the day and whisper all sorts of weird shit into each other's ears, like, You're a piece of shit. You know, like a hundred percent. But Mark: Right. Yeah, you lick each other's earlabes, no doubt. Jack: we do it all day, every day. It's Mark: Well us, whene whenever we see each other we give each other the finger as we're leaving we give each other the finger. when I've met with you when I used to work in the city and stuff, I'd give you the finger from across the street. There was that one Jack: Yeah. Mark: day we ca we were leaving golf and you were heading off to the highway and you stuck your hand out the window and gave me the finger. The the chick in the car behind us was like, What? This like she thought there's gonna be a fight on here. Jack: Yeah. But that's become like a family thing now, right? 'Cause your daughter you know, Mark: Hm. Yeah, the kids do it. Jack: her and I are just relentlessly giving each other gifts of giving each other the finger and Mark: Ha ha ha ha. Jack: like birthday, Christmas, everything. And yeah. Mark: All presence are related around that. Yeah. Even even the two little girls are doing it too, like yeah, giving us the finger as we leave and stuff like that, so hm. Jack: Yeah, that's right. So it's become a thing. Mark: It really has a we are running a bit long today, but we've still got a fair bit to go actually. So Jack: Yeah. Mark: yeah. there we did have a segment in here about the sleep study, your sleep study. Do you want to talk about Jack: Yeah. Mark: that next week or you wanna have a quick rundown today or? Jack: look let's do it next week because I've literally just night one of patrol last night. So Mark: okay, yep. Jack: yeah, we'll we'll give it a week and then I'll get back to you. Mark: Yep, sounds good. what's happened in your business this week? Obviously rain. Jack: Yeah, rain last week. so everything was pushed to this week. So I have been flat out so far. tomorrow I left a little bit light on because I'm doing a full garden makeover for the client tomorrow. but yeah, just flat out, which is great. yeah, the rain has made everyone's grass grow out of control. Mark: Yeah. Jack: and One thing I learnt from this week was I've been tracking my kilometers driven in my car for the whole time I've been doing the business. I just forgot to tell the accountant that I was doing it. So I emailed him the other day and said, Hey, should I be like sending you this stuff? He goes, yeah, definitely. Like, make sure you get under it. see I've been using an app called Driver's Note, which automatically tracks your kilometres, so You can go, that was for business, that was private, and yeah. Makes life a lot easier. Mark: I have heard of that, that app. Does that is that the one that automatically links the ATL as well or no Jack: No, there's another one that does that, but it was a lot more expensive. this one, you can either just use it off the app and it does take a bit of time for it to pick up that you're driving your car. But you can buy this little I can't remember what they call it now, it's like a little like the old linked E tag thing. And you just Mark: yeah, yeah. Jack: throw that in your car and then it automatically starts tracking from that. Mark: Yeah, cool. Makes life easier for you than having to fill out a log book like you used to have to do. Jack: Yeah, and then you just go to reports on the website and it does like the full ATA report. You send that off to your accountant. Job's done. Hmm. Mark: Yeah, nice. That's good. Yeah. business for me this week. just the usual actually, to be honest. got a call about an auditing job as well, which is good. So sent him some information just to see if he's still interested in it. So I gotta follow up with him tomorrow, which would be good. yeah, outside of that, just the usual for me. Nothing nothing special this week. Everything's running along nice and smoothly. still learning the back end of zero, which is is always fun. Jack: Mm-hmm. Yep. Mark: Yeah, just making sure I get everything right. There's a few things that that I want to do differently. I updated my website too. It was looking a bit messy, so got into that this week and updated all that, which is good. So yeah. Happy days Jack: Yeah, nice. Mark: there. Jack: one little milestone I ticked over was twenty thousand dollars made. Mark: Nice. Jack: So that's twenty grand profit for the business, which is good. Mark: Yeah, that's awesome, mate. Aft only after a couple of months as well. And doing it essentially part time too. Yeah. That's awesome, mate. Nice work. Jack: Hm, yep, so Yeah, that's right. So yeah, kicking goals. Hmm. Mark: weird shit of the week. this kind of brings it back into the whole idea of what weird shit of the week was originally. so in the States this happened in February last year, but he was found guilty the twenty second of October. a guy named Jathan Glider. Yes, Jathan is the name. Jathan. Jack: Jathan. Jathan. Mark: J A Y T H A N, not just Jason with a lisp. He was found guilty of robbery and grand theft back in Feb of last year after stealing diamond earrings worth seven hundred and sixty nine thousand five hundred dollars from Tiffany and Co. in Orlando. Where this becomes a weird shit of the week story is that the police caught him and he swallowed the earrings. You can see where this is going now, right? Jack: And nature takes his course. Mark: Yep, so the police monitored him for two weeks. before you shit them out. They clean them, identify them by the zero number, and then obviously yeah, the rest is history is so to speak. So Well, I don't Jack: Do they make him clean up or Mark: know. I I didn't didn't get that far in the story, but Jack: Yeah, right. Mark: how much would you have been paid to have to clean that? And you know, if if you're in a room of forensics guys or whoever it would that would clean them, are you rock, paper, or scissors for not doing that job? Jack: Look Mark: 'Cause Jack: at Mark: every every shit for two weeks, someone's going through it, right? Jack: Yeah, that's right. Mark: Yeah. Jack: god. I dunno. You gotta there's gotta be something to figure it out, 'cause I'm not just gonna go, Yeah, look, I'll do it Mark: Yeah. Jack: You know. Like short straws, rock, paper, scissors, who can run the fastest, whatever. Mark: Look, I'm I'm gonna say this 'cause I was thinking about this as well. There are some brown noses in every company. exactly who I'm talking about. Jack: Mm. Mark: there's gonna be those people that would hundred percent jump into this and be like, I'm gonna do it, it's gonna further my career and meanwhile you're just planning somebody's shit. Jack: No. It's not gonna further your career just sifting through shit. Mark: But as a brown noser, yeah it might work. Jack: But even swallowing earrings, that's good on him, that's that's pretty tough Mark: Yeah. Jack: job on that side, I think. Mark: How do they not rip you open as well? Jack: Yeah. Mark: Yeah. Jack: Things I don't need to know. Mark: Exactly. the other thing that happened this week, so there was an a serious assault, or sorry, multiple assaults at an airport in the US, in the Chicago Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: O'Hare Airport. For several hours this was going on. the Jack: Yeah, what's Mark: hours. The suspect was apprehended by a cleaner with a shirt. And that was that's all they needed. Jack: Shoot. Mark: The assailant was a bird. It was a parrot. Now the report says it was and let me get this right. It was aggressively swooping passengers and staff. Yep. A Jack: Aggressively swaying. Mark: aggressively swooping. So now birds are terrorists. Jack: have they been introduced to magpies or platters? Mark: Look, that's where I was gonna go with this too. This is like every fucking Tuesday here, right? You know, in spring. Jack: Every day. Mark: In spring every day. In Australia this Jack: I'm just at the other end of being constantly assaulted by birds everywhere I go. Mark: Yeah, you know. In in America they happened once at an airport and it becomes global news. yeah. Jack: Bloody hell. I think they we'll start sending birds to them. Mark: Well, you know, I knew the military were training dolphins back in World War Two for Jack: Mm. Mark: underwater mine detection and stuff like that, amongst other things. but yeah, I mean they're now teaching birds how to sweep people at an airport and become terrorists, like Jack: Next sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads. Mark: yes, that would be cool, Doctor Evil. Let's do it. So, yeah, did the bird get waterboarded for intelligence and sent to Guantanamo Bay or like is is it ever gonna be seen again? Has it gone to a black site now somewhere and yeah. Jack: It's off took on time, yeah. Yeah. It's on a witness protection program somewhere. Mark: Look it possibly could be a Birdie and Bogie for the week. Have you got a good thing and bad thing this week? Jack: Yeah, I might let you kick off while I have a bit of a a ponder on that one. Mark: Yeah, right, okay. my birdie for this week is I'm framing up the office this weekend. So I'll have some sticks of timber up behind me shortly, followed by some walls at some point. So it's just taking its time at the moment. Jack: Ha ha ha. Mark: But yeah, th I'm getting the office framed up this week. So we're getting the office framed up and the wall down that separates the office and the bedroom all the way down to the bathroom that's going in. Jack: Perfect. Mark: so that'll be good. That'll be framed up. and yeah, hopefully jip rocking up next week. So excuse Jack: Yeah not. Mark: me. for a bogey. one of your mates mentioned and so did one of mine as well, that we're having some sound issues on the podcast for people listening back on both Spotify and YouTube. so I'm gonna look into that because I think when I edit these it all sounds fine, but I am listening through to headphones. Jack: Mm. Mark: and I haven't listened to it to anything else other than my computer and my laptop. when I when I listen back on these things, so I'll have to keep an eye out for that. But if anyone has any issues with sound quality, let us know. I'm gonna try a few things differently when I edit it. I'll put our sound up and drop everything down. so hopefully we can solve it this week, but yeah. Jack: Yeah, please let us know if there's any issues 'cause yeah, we're just we listen to it through our headphones. So for us it sounds great, but for other people it might not, especially if you're in a car. so yeah, I've got this fancy new microphone on my shirt. Trying something different there. yeah, we're gonna try changing the settings, so but yeah, without people letting us know that there's an issue, we don't know. So Mark: Yeah, and Nate pointed out as well, he messaged me this morning about it and said yeah, he had to have it turned all the way up in his car and then Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: when the next thing started after ours ended, it was blasting him out of the car. Yeah, that's it, yeah. Jack: Well wake him up at least, right? Yeah. Righto, so voting baggy for myself. I've taken a round off work this week, my actual full time job. Mark: gonna be good. Jack: Yeah, so I'm I'm still busy with the business. I've booked in a few things there, but I at least get a weekend off where I can just Do whatever I want to do. so yeah, definitely looking forward to that. and bogey is probably Yeah, it's a tough one. nothing's really gone wrong this week. I'm I'm pretty happy with that, yeah. Hmm. Mark: Maybe nothing bad's happened. Yeah. That's good mate, that's good. Yeah. You not something doesn't need to go wrong every week, which is good. Don't touch yourself. Wait till we're off the podcast. Jack: No touch wood. It's first week yet. Well or one centimeter of it. Mark: Alright, that's a wrap for this week, I think. just wanna remind everyone to like and subscribe on all platforms for us, that'd be great. just wanna give another shout out to Dubby Energy. Check out as well. And as I said before, if you use our link to buy any products, you do get a discount. Also helps us as well. Jack: Mm-hmm. Mark: Are we going to the range this weekend? Or do you want to go play some pool or something? Jack: Yeah, well I sent you a that pool joint that's just opened up near me. So I don't know, it looks pretty pretty cool in there. So we might head there 'cause I think this weather's still sorta hanging around a little bit, so Mark: Yeah, I think so too. We'll have to grab those microphones and stuff as well, maybe set up a camera or just film do some filming and stuff for for people to see how shit we are at playing pool and or drinking. Jack: Well I know I'm good at drinking, but Mark: That's it. anything anything you want to talk about next week? Jack: yeah, I think we'll get on to the sleep study after I've had a week of this trial. 'cause yeah, last night was pretty good. again, all the sport is happening flat out and there's no motorsport next week. I think even F one's having a break, so it'll just be World Cup and yeah, give us a chance to take a breath. Mark: Yeah, maybe we'll check out some lombulves or something. Jack: Yeah. Well, we can actually do our business podcast. Mark: Look maybe we do that. Maybe we give the locker room outside of the Rugby World Cup a a s a skip for next week and yeah, maybe throw some more business stuff in there for people. yeah, I think that'll be good. Talk about Jack: Yeah. Yeah, sounds Hmm. Mark: sleep study. I do want to talk about the athletes versus non athletes, in terms of the John Dailies and all that sort of stuff. Jack: Yeah, Mark: so I think that'll be interesting 'cause yeah it was something I wanna talk about this week, but yeah. I knew we had a fair bit to talk about anyway. Jack: And one other quick one is come back to the theme song part. If anyone has a theme song that they think would be good for themselves or one of us, please drop it in the comments, let us know. Mark: Look, I'll just say this, if you're gonna give us one, you've got to give yourself one at the same time as well. So you gotta you gotta acknowledge that, So Adam, if you're out there listening, I know I know where that's going. Jack: Which you better be. Mark: look, I already know yours, Adam. We'll call it I'm an Asshole by Dennis Leary. Jack: Yeah, perfect. What a change though. Mark: Yeah, that's it. I'm surprised you didn't do that one actually, but yeah. Jack: Yeah, I sort of forgot about that actually. Mark: Look, I was gonna do that, but I thought no, no, no, I better not. Do some Yeah, that's it. All Jack: Yeah, we'll say that about him. Mark: right, everyone, in enjoy your week and we will see you same time next week. Jack: Right. Thank you very much. See us. Mark: Keep it real.
