- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter eleven, Old Age, How is there laughter? How is
- 0:07Speaker 1: their joy? As this world is always burning? Why do
- 0:12Speaker 1: you not seek a light? Ye, who are surrounded by darkness?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Look at this dressed up lump, covered with wounds, joined together, sickly,
- 0:25Speaker 1: full of many thoughts, which has no strength, no hold.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This body is wasted, full of sickness and frail. This
- 0:37Speaker 1: heap of corruption breaks to pieces. Life indeed ends in death.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Those white bones like gourds thrown away in the autumn,
- 0:50Speaker 1: what pleasure is there in looking at them? After a
- 0:55Speaker 1: stronghold has been made of the bones, it is covered
- 0:59Speaker 1: with flesh and blood, and there dwell in it old
- 1:02Speaker 1: age and death, pride and deceit. The brilliant chariots of
- 1:09Speaker 1: kings are destroyed. The body also approaches destruction, But the
- 1:15Speaker 1: virtue of good people never approaches destruction. Thus do the

- 1:46Speaker 1: And painful is birth again and again. But now maker
- 1:52Speaker 1: of the tabernacle. Thou hast been seen, Thou shalt not
- 1:57Speaker 1: make up this tabernacle again. All thy rafters are broken,
- 2:04Speaker 1: Thy ridge pole is sundered. The mind approaching the eternal
- 2:10Speaker 1: Vesankara Nirvana has attained to the extinction of all desires.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Men who have not observed proper discipline and have not
- 2:23Speaker 1: gained treasure in their youth perish like old herons in
- 2:28Speaker 1: a lake without fish. Men who have not observed proper
- 2:34Speaker 1: discipline and have not gained treasure in their youth lie
- 2:39Speaker 1: like broken bows, sighing. After the past end of Chapter eleven,
