- 0:32Hello and welcome back to the Easy Double podcast episode 59.
- 0:38I'm joined as always by the two Co hosts, one over in Ireland,
- 0:42Owen Smith, how are you doing? Happy Easter.
- 0:45Doing good, Ryan. Yeah, it's a off work here
- 0:48today, so good load of Easter eggs eyeing me up, so I'm going
- 0:53to have to might do a little bit more running to try and fit them
- 0:56in my in my dietary plan, but no, it's good.
- 1:00Good. Yeah, who bought you the Easter
- 1:03eggs besides Easter Bunny? That's it.
- 1:07These one, he just got me them. Oh, no, actually in work we had
- 1:13a like an Easter egg hunt and I got one of them lint bunnies,
- 1:17you know, a big lint Bunny. So yeah, I'm gonna get, I've got
- 1:21to get through this week as well.
- 1:23Premium material. Yeah, good shit.
- 1:28And also dialing in from the drivers, not you, not the
- 1:31driver's seats, the the back seat of his car is Dean Menzies.
- 1:35Dean, how are you doing, mate? Goodbye.
- 1:38Doing well, guys. Yeah, a little bit late from a
- 1:43prior commitment that dialed in don't, can't, can't miss a
- 1:47recording. And happy Easter to you as well.
- 1:52How was it in the Menzies household get up so much?
- 1:56It was good. Yeah.
- 1:57We're just the usual sort of family and friend catch UPS.
- 2:00Lots of Easter eggs, lots of Easter eggs.
- 2:04We may have eaten a few. The Easter bunnies, Easter eggs
- 2:07that were to be handed out did get copper.
- 2:09Fair whack in the week leading up to and consequently I think
- 2:14we needed to go back to the shops to get a top up.
- 2:16But no, it's been a nice, nice four day break Easter egg hunt
- 2:22on Sunday morning, kids out in force.
- 2:25It was. It was nice.
- 2:28Hey, good. It's it's been a really long
- 2:30weekend, hasn't it? So did you get a four day long
- 2:32weekend as well? Owen over there.
- 2:34No he was on the UK had Friday off as well.
- 2:38In Ireland we have to work on the on the Friday unfortunately.
- 2:42Did was the Easter Bunny go to your end?
- 2:46The Easter Bunny turned off. Yeah, I wouldn't say that the
- 2:49bags were full, but there was some delivered.
- 2:53Yeah. Did you get any of them Biscoff
- 2:55hot cross buns? No I stopped counting
- 2:59annoyingly, but I got to AC and I definitely surpassed 100 based
- 3:04on when I stopped counting at AC which is pretty impressive.
- 3:09Putting away 100 hot cross buns I mean is over the period of a
- 3:15few months. Yeah.
- 3:16It's fuel, but yeah, so I may have sadly had my last hot cross
- 3:21bunners fuel now given the the Bix endorsement.
- 3:25Proper feel, Rocket feel. We're on now.
- 3:29Which is well timed, given that Easter surpassing probably means
- 3:34that there won't be any hot cross buns left on the shelf, so
- 3:37it's come through at the perfect time.
- 3:39It's really weird though, the way like it's an Easter sort of
- 3:42thing, like a hot cross bun. I feel like it's just a bit of
- 3:46bread with filling inside, no? Yeah, I know.
- 3:50So what will they? What?
- 3:52What agenda do they start pushing next because we can't go
- 3:55to Halloween? Oh yeah, what is the next one?
- 4:02There isn't one for ages now. And it will have, we'll probably
- 4:07see on the shelves tomorrow anyway.
- 4:10But we are here, we're back again.
- 4:13We've got plenty of runners to talk about.
- 4:15There was a massive race in Lille, 5K and 10K with
- 4:18ridiculously fast times and also the stall gift which is a very
- 4:23unique concept to Australia, so I'm sure we'll have fun talking
- 4:26about that. But before we go there fellas,
- 4:29London call in Episode 3 went out during the week last week.
- 4:33I assume you both had fun tuning into that.
- 4:36Any thoughts on how the fellas are getting on?
- 4:39How did you find the the recording?
- 4:41I wanted it to be a bit more serious, but the guys are just
- 4:45too much of A laugh to have a serious conversation with.
- 4:49Can we pull it back to hot cross buns for a minute?
- 4:52Apparently the cross on the bun take symbolizes the crucifixion
- 4:57of Jesus. There you go.
- 5:03Yeah, there you go. Cross one.
- 5:06It's a cross. So that's why it relates to
- 5:09Easter. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:13So again, do we give thanks to Jesus sacrificing himself on the
- 5:17cross for the hot cross buns I. Think he's given us a lot of
- 5:21stuff here Christmas. Thanks.
- 5:28But we don't want to ostracize any any other religions on here.
- 5:33So yeah, no favors towards Christianity.
- 5:36Everyone is welcome. Easy double.
- 5:40But yeah. London Colon.
- 5:41Any thoughts? I think it's going to be so good
- 5:45between Tim, Vince and Jake Smith.
- 5:46Like Jake Smith is fit and Tim is tipping along nicely.
- 5:51I think who's going to be first home is going to be tight.
- 5:57They are tracking tracking very similar.
- 6:00Yeah, they Tim's probably, what, a bit quicker over the half has
- 6:03he been, But Jake's putting out out some serious kilometers,
- 6:07like he's aerobic work, his weekly mileage and it's looking
- 6:12very good, isn't it? Yes, it's building very nicely I
- 6:16think. So what was that Sunday
- 6:17yesterday? So it'll be the races three
- 6:19weeks yesterday. So I think we'll get one more
- 6:22record with them in before the race on the week of, which will
- 6:26be really fun. And hopefully Mr. Ran to Japan
- 6:31is in the UK by that point, but that remains to be seen whether
- 6:34he gets on the jet plane or not. I think I like the fact that
- 6:39they're three different three different guys in terms of
- 6:43personality, three different approaches to their training.
- 6:46So it's really interesting to hear it all then converging on
- 6:50the same thing. You know, like it's unfortunate,
- 6:53obviously that ran to Japan is struggling a bit with with
- 6:58injury, but even his super high mileage approach versus the
- 7:02other guys, they all have slightly different ways of the
- 7:05way they're they approach training their their training
- 7:09sessions, all these differences, but they're all sort of more or
- 7:13less converging in on the same goal.
- 7:15It's really interesting perspective and interesting
- 7:17differences in personalities. So which makes it for a fun
- 7:20lesson. So I've really enjoyed it.
- 7:22So thanks. But I think that's the joy, like
- 7:26that's part of the journey as well.
- 7:28Like when you're at such a high level, like it doesn't always go
- 7:31to plan and it's very rare that like as Jake Smith says, you're
- 7:36going to see so many people pull out and get injured.
- 7:38So many people will cross that red line and not make it to the
- 7:41start line. It's just unfortunate that Jake
- 7:46Barclough is, is just on that hit list, but it's just part of
- 7:51the journey. Unfortunately, that's running.
- 7:53It doesn't always go to plan, but the good thing about running
- 7:56is there's always another race just around the corner.
- 7:58So 100% Jake will get this sorted, pick himself back up and
- 8:03go again. Yeah, and dare I say it, don't
- 8:08write them off. Yeah, I think he ran like 160
- 8:10odd K last week, which for anyone else on planet Earth is
- 8:14more than enough to be peaking marathon mileage.
- 8:17But the guy has high standards so we'll see if he arrives.
- 8:23And then a couple of hours of cycle and like he is still
- 8:25incredibly fit. It's just if the legs can't
- 8:28stick to distance. And you've just conducted your
- 8:33own interview a few hours earlier.
- 8:34Thanks for that. We want to tell us about that,
- 8:37who you spoke to. Yeah, So I interviewed Cole
- 8:40Gibbons. A lot of the listeners probably
- 8:42know of him. He's he ran 216 in London in
- 8:452025. But again, like he'd be at a
- 8:48similar high mileage type of guy.
- 8:51And he, he has recently found his limits as well with the high
- 8:54mileage. So he's been like 250K weeks,
- 8:57but recent lately just there last week or the week before and
- 9:02he sort of felt something in his in his streamer and then he's
- 9:06after having to pull the pin on London as well.
- 9:10But again, super, super smart guy.
- 9:12He's an osteopath and just balancing the YouTube with asked
- 9:17the osteopathy and running, it was really, really good chat.
- 9:21And again, like, he's only 25, he's super young and he's, yeah,
- 9:25super hungry. So it was really, really good to
- 9:27chat with him. So we can probably include him
- 9:32as part of YouTube Diaries, but when did when did you start
- 9:35watching him or when did he like start on YouTube?
- 9:38Has it been like a bit of a explosive path or has he been a
- 9:41steady burn? Steady burn.
- 9:43He's, I think he's been posting on YouTube for four years now
- 9:48and I think I picked him up like 2 years ago and after he ran
- 9:52like a night at the 10 KPBS, you know that race in England he ran
- 9:573052 or something like that. But saying that like his journey
- 10:02hasn't been straightforward. Like he's been going really,
- 10:05really, really good. And then he was in, in his final
- 10:09years of uni and it just got like all like a lot.
- 10:13And he again, he all this is on his YouTube.
- 10:15He's so, so authentic and personal.
- 10:17And he just went through a rough patch, like mentally and he had
- 10:20to pull the running. And then he finished his college
- 10:23degree and he built back up to run a 216.
- 10:28And so again, all of us on his YouTube, highly recommend and
- 10:33giving it a look. Yeah, it's really, really good.
- 10:36You can follow his whole journey.
- 10:39Sweet. Look forward to it and we'll put
- 10:41that out I guess middle of the week or something easy.
- 10:45Well, one more quick message before we get into the actual
- 10:48episode. And this is a big one, very
- 10:50exciting news for us and for the listeners alike.
- 10:53So a few people have been messaging messaging recently to
- 10:56ask if there's a way to support the show, which is very kind
- 11:00because we didn't really expect it, but I guess people have been
- 11:05enjoying the interviews and particularly the London Call in
- 11:07series. So yeah, we're very grateful for
- 11:10that. So we've taken it on board and
- 11:12we are deciding to launch a Patreon, the Easy Double Club.
- 11:17So this is basically the home of all the extra content and the
- 11:20behind the scenes access. So yeah, from next week,
- 11:25episodes will go live in the Patreon 24 hours early and
- 11:29completely ad free so you don't have to skip all the ads.
- 11:33And we're also going to launch a brand new like bonus show called
- 11:37the No Agenda Show. And this is exactly what it
- 11:40sounds like. And there's less structure, more
- 11:42relaxed. I feel like we'll be able to
- 11:44like proper tell you about our training weeks, more details
- 11:48like the shoes we do more about the nutrition and all that sort
- 11:51of stuff because we sort of cram it all in in our, in our weekly
- 11:56umm episode. And we'll be able to tell you
- 11:58what's going on in the week to week.
- 12:00More details about our race plans and all that stuff that
- 12:04like we actually talk like before and after our recordings,
- 12:08but we'll be able to like actually share this on the
- 12:10Patreon, Umm, we'll also be confirming guests ahead of time
- 12:15and you'll get a chance to like submit like actual questions to
- 12:17them. And as you've seen recently, we
- 12:21can, you can never, it's like we can get literally anyone on.
- 12:25So it's just cool to like have an actual like Direct Line to
- 12:30ask that person a question. Like who now would have thought
- 12:33we'd be able to ask Andrew Zambrin questions like face to
- 12:36face? So you guys will have the option
- 12:38as well. Yeah.
- 12:43And there's already actually been a couple of people sneak in
- 12:46before we've even announced it, which is amazing, to be fair.
- 12:50So obviously we've had to set the profile up on Patreon and a
- 12:54couple of you have searched us out and found it on there.
- 12:57So huge shout out to Shane Dorian or Dorian, I hope I've
- 13:00said that correctly. Who's officially the first
- 13:03member of the Easy Double Club And he's he's signed up and he's
- 13:07patiently waiting to go. So Shane will be with you
- 13:10shortly. And as a bit of a bonus to kick
- 13:13things off, the Easy Double Error Racing singlets, which
- 13:17were produced by BICS, the 1st 50 people in through the door,
- 13:21we'll get these completely free of cost, just have to cover the
- 13:25cost of shipping, which I think will be like $10 or something.
- 13:30So you'll probably not be surprised to hear that I've got
- 13:33all sorts of crazy ideas as to what we can do with this
- 13:35Patreon. So if you do join, you basically
- 13:39add into my business case and sales pitch to try and get Dean
- 13:42and Owen over the line with these ideas.
- 13:44So pile in. So yeah, this is just the star.
- 13:49And honestly, if anyone does join, it means a world to us.
- 13:52And equally, if you don't and you just want to stay on the on
- 13:56the normal show, this will completely remain free.
- 13:59We'll still be here every week talking about race results.
- 14:01That's absolutely fine. So if you want to join, be part
- 14:05of these double club, head over to patreon.com/easy Double or
- 14:10this is how I use Patreon when I join other shows.
- 14:15Download the app and if you just search in easy double then all
- 14:19the episodes will come straight through there right.
- 14:23Then we'll get into the main nitty gritty part of the show.
- 14:27So running results, we are off to France.
- 14:30Dean, do you want to kick us off with the?
- 14:36Yeah. The main event, do I start at
- 14:38the top, do you think, or in what order should I should we
- 14:41recap them? Oh, shall I start with?
- 14:47The tech case, yeah. Probably less less to talk
- 14:52about, but and perhaps is to set the scene because did you, are
- 14:56you guys familiar with this otherwise familiar with this
- 14:58race? They've sort of caught me a bit
- 15:00off guard. It's not one that like, you
- 15:04know, certain races this time of year, like there's certain major
- 15:07marathons we look out for. This wasn't something that I was
- 15:09necessarily, you know, anticipating, but for the fact
- 15:14that I knew Jimmy Gracia was running in it.
- 15:18I feel like there's a lot of these races like popping up now,
- 15:21like at the start there was like Valencia 10K known to be super
- 15:25fast and a few more throughout Europe.
- 15:28But now I feel like every month there is a super flat fast
- 15:32course somewhere with really, really fast runners running
- 15:38there. And like, even I think next
- 15:41month or this month coming, there is going to be another one
- 15:44that I think Namio are supporting.
- 15:46And the one in Stockholm in Sweden, like that's going to get
- 15:50some crazy times as well. Again, another pancake flat
- 15:53course. And I feel they're popping up
- 15:55everywhere. But yeah, this one in Lille,
- 15:57never heard of before, but it was very, very fast.
- 16:02I feel like people have figured out that like there's that much
- 16:05demand to run fast times that literally if you can just find a
- 16:09flat loop, maybe like a mile plus or even an out and back or
- 16:14a circular within any town, there's probably the demand to
- 16:18like sell that race out. And because you're doing it in a
- 16:20town, there's probably going to be decent support on the streets
- 16:23so that, yeah, they're just popping up left, right and
- 16:26center. Yeah.
- 16:28And I mean, we saw that was at the Tokyo speed race that Essex
- 16:31pulled on. And then as you mentioned on,
- 16:34we've been a little bit Privy to some of the chats around some of
- 16:36the thinking with the Namio race.
- 16:38And then we obviously chatted with the the fly car guys as
- 16:41well about some of the work that they're putting on with their
- 16:44races. Like and we've seen like the
- 16:46success of some of like their own races that they've got
- 16:49behind. Like it seems like brands are
- 16:51looking to partner with races and with the shoe movement and
- 16:56there's wave light tech on the, you know, there's all these
- 16:59ingredients that people are putting in the things with like
- 17:02Gnomeo fly card that and the best conditions you're putting
- 17:06together these awesome races that I think capture everyone's
- 17:10attention. And I suppose for the roads,
- 17:12they rewrote the road records. They the World Athletics
- 17:18restated them a few years ago because a lot of them may have
- 17:22been point to point or there's certain criteria now.
- 17:25And as a result, a lot of these European and world records are
- 17:29getting rerun, which is exciting because it means that you feel
- 17:33like you're watching new ground being broken rather than some
- 17:36record of the 80s that is untouchable.
- 17:38You, you what you feel like as a viewer you're experiencing is is
- 17:42uncharted territory, which which yeah, with which this race was
- 17:47no different, right. So that I think that they're
- 17:49fairly small ish fields but they were very top end heavy so.
- 17:56Yeah, to get go back to your original point around this kind
- 18:00of like coming out of nowhere and creeping up on us and
- 18:03touching on what you just said there with the fields as well,
- 18:06pre the London call and record, we're just like in the studio.
- 18:10And Tim mentioned he was doing a race on the weekend and Jake was
- 18:15like, oh, what is it? And he said that it's this one
- 18:18in Leo. Like we've just kind of got a
- 18:19late entry. And Jake was like, have you seen
- 18:22the field? And Tim was like, no, no, like,
- 18:25pretty unassuming. And I said, I've literally was
- 18:29just looking at the field. So then we read it out and he
- 18:31was like, jeez, didn't realize what he'd signed up for, almost.
- 18:36But like to have a 5K and A10K as equally stacked is just
- 18:42because a lot of them. If you're going to be a fast 5K
- 18:44runner you're going to be a fast 10K runner realistically.
- 18:47And to get like 2 events that are equally as deep is crazy.
- 18:54So, yeah, so I suppose just to dive into the results, so in the
- 18:57men's 10K, the winner was Kaari Bajiga from Ethiopia in 2651,
- 19:05second was Lebanon Kosgai from Kenya in 2659, and third was
- 19:11Cornelius Connor 27 O 6. And then I guess, yeah, I mean
- 19:17the, the results just just flow from there.
- 19:21There was what 10th was in 2739, which for context that's the
- 19:27same or close to the same time as what the UK 10K record is
- 19:33from Valencia, right. All was nearly run at Valencia,
- 19:37Yeah. And in terms of other notable
- 19:42performances, so that were outside of that, so our Callum
- 19:45Morgan from Ireland was 32nd in 2816, Zach Muhammad from GB
- 19:53202820, Liam Burden, who as we know from the from the other
- 20:00from from your chats, Ryan, they've been training, Tim and
- 20:03Liam from Bruce, Ben together, been training together, doing
- 20:07some of these races together. So he was 42nd in 2833.
- 20:11Tim Vincent from London Calling was in 55th to 2850.
- 20:18And just a couple of others. Which is it?
- 20:21Dara Mcelhenny was 45th and 2836, George Wheeler 2839,
- 20:28Charles Wheeler 2847. So that's a paper.
- 20:33Is that a PB for Tim I think as well.
- 20:38Yeah, I think just inside this, I know, I think he's wrote PB.
- 20:43Yeah, 2914, but I think that was a little while ago.
- 20:47And yeah, maybe I have no idea. I tried to ask him like, are you
- 20:54going to use it as a as a marathon session and do it on
- 20:57fatigue legs? And he was like, no, I need to
- 21:00give this race the respect it deserves, especially on the back
- 21:03of figuring out what that field looks like.
- 21:06So I mean to run a 10 KPB in marathon training is very
- 21:14impressive. Regarding Dara, that was his.
- 21:20He was his first 10K on the road.
- 21:22Like his first could have been his first 10K in general.
- 21:25And his Strava caption. Is this baptism of fire on the
- 21:30roads? Went out too hard and blew a
- 21:32gasket. 8O633K wasn't my wisest move.
- 21:38Lessons learned, on to the next. So yeah, I'd say I feel like in
- 21:43that race, everyone is at such a high level that you have to back
- 21:49yourself to go with them fast times.
- 21:51But if you're not on it and you go out that hard, it's so, so
- 21:57easy to blow up. So like, kudos to backing
- 22:00yourself and going out, but that would have been very painful.
- 22:04So that's shit. What pace is that?
- 22:08That's like. 730-2730. 27 dead. I think that's 27 flat pace.
- 22:15Yeah. So yeah.
- 22:17They're like, because that's 2418 through 9 K, right?
- 22:21And then you're adding 240 on top of that or you know, 242.
- 22:26That's 27 dead pace. That's Aussie record.
- 22:29Pace. So the fact that he held on is
- 22:32very, very impressive. He would have been.
- 22:34Four, Yeah. It's in life.
- 22:37Yeah, which I was suicide if. He did that, yeah.
- 22:43He would have been taking the euthanasia going through the
- 22:46third case split. His fastest split he ran A243240
- 22:53and in the end he was I think his last K was 306, which yeah,
- 22:59Ouch. But I mean my 10 KPB probably
- 23:02averages like 306 per K so I can hardly comment.
- 23:06But I admire the and the bravery.
- 23:10But yeah, first one, like, I feel like tank on the road is a
- 23:13hard one to nail just because you don't have the mark.
- 23:17Like at a track, like you sort of know every 2 1/2 laps you're
- 23:20taking it off. Whereas on the road you're sort
- 23:23of waiting for that marking to know if you're not familiar with
- 23:27the course. So yeah, look, I'm sure he'll be
- 23:30back better than ever. Especially if you've never done
- 23:34one before, you don't know how hard it's meant to feel and at
- 23:37what point until you find out like that.
- 23:40Yeah, you don't know like tank 10K like pain if you get me,
- 23:44like because it is a bit different to your 5K or your
- 23:46half marathon. And so, yeah, it's just about
- 23:49getting the feel. Any other I guess just comment
- 23:55like obviously say Brits run of 2810 the other day compare like
- 24:02Lehman team have ran really well, but you just you know, for
- 24:05context running 2810. I know it's on the track and
- 24:08it's hard to compare, but you know, it sort of puts puts them
- 24:14puts puts that in perspective a little bit.
- 24:16And then you think about Kyle Robinson again, who's running
- 24:19under 27 minutes is, you know, like there's levels isn't there
- 24:24without with a lot of these things.
- 24:27Puts a different lens on it. Yeah, but these guys have heavy
- 24:30legs, like they're not off tapering.
- 24:32Well, are they tapering for this race?
- 24:34I don't. I wouldn't presume so, being so
- 24:36close to London. No, not without a question, but
- 24:41in terms of being being, you know that yeah, it's not, it's
- 24:45not a pet event, but it's but there's sort of people that are
- 24:49the specialists for like to try and color it like Kai's what one
- 24:54of the best 510K runners in the world, you would say, and then
- 24:58foot the the best guys. And it's the same for this race
- 25:00at running low 27 minutes and then there's 28 low 28 to mid 28
- 25:06minutes is the next tier, isn't it?
- 25:09It's what a lot of these guys run.
- 25:11Does Kai break 60 for the half or is that too Spacey?
- 25:17I reckon, yeah, I don't think so.
- 25:20Yeah. I would put money on him to do
- 25:22it if he went out. Did it?
- 25:23I think so. If he gave me 3 to 1, I'd
- 25:28probably take. It I would be as confident as it
- 25:33was that Grant Fisher was going to do it, but Grant Fisher has
- 25:36taught me not to be surprised if someone doesn't convert based on
- 25:40Carl. Robinson, Carl Robinson looks
- 25:42more efficient I would say, but I don't know.
- 25:46Time may tell, hopefully. Yeah.
- 25:49The women's 10K so notable Some very notable names in this list.
- 25:57The winner was Agnes Mgetich from Kenya in 2858, Second was
- 26:04is it Choltu Dida from Ethiopia in 3002 and Heruk Machesha from
- 26:11Ethiopia was third in 3005. And notably, Nadia Batikledi,
- 26:16who is the reigning indoor 3000 meter world champion, was fourth
- 26:23in 3008. And I can't really, I thought I
- 26:26saw something about a European record.
- 26:27Was she just, she just behind it, wasn't she?
- 26:30She just missed Megan O'keefe's Megan Keith's European Record,
- 26:373007. A second back of it and remember
- 26:40when Megan Keith ran this the other month and I was saying
- 26:44like, it's weird because everyone's saying European
- 26:46record, but when you look at World Athletics, there's an an
- 26:49Israeli girl who actually appears ahead of her and looking
- 26:54at so PC in looking at the results for this, I figured out
- 26:59why because she transferred her allegiance from don't know if it
- 27:06was definitely Kenya, but one of the African countries.
- 27:09So like she can now compete for Israel legally but she's still
- 27:13not like record eligible for European records because she was
- 27:18born in African country. This isn't a good run by
- 27:23Badakhladi. I feel like she should be
- 27:26breaking 30. Yeah, me too, although what did
- 27:32she run for 5K? Should I run 1420 or something
- 27:37like that? Yeah.
- 27:39But if you run 1420, it's probably, I mean, yeah, maybe
- 27:43like 2940 something. But the factor on Agnes and get
- 27:48it is just it's hard to comprehend how she's like a
- 27:51minute faster than the closest one and it's 10K.
- 27:56Yeah, that's pretty much lacking better clearly on the track,
- 28:00right, Yeah. That's hard to like sort of
- 28:02imagine in your head. Maybe they've, I don't know, I
- 28:06didn't see the race, but perhaps they went out with it, which
- 28:08might explain the fact that when they fell off, they really fell
- 28:11off. It was mixed as well.
- 28:14So like she she's just well, they've all ran with a bunch of
- 28:18men, but Nick asset is obviously just gambled and gone further up
- 28:21the field and got sucked along better because when when you
- 28:25scroll the full results and I guess and get it finished like
- 28:2860 odd. So yeah, if you look at, well,
- 28:33think about Tim, Tim run 2850 and get it around 2858.
- 28:38So she was. Tim was just a few places ahead
- 28:41of her in the full field. When you put it like that, that
- 28:45is crazy. Like, yeah.
- 28:51If you if you're in this race, if this was your Valencia, you
- 28:54would have beaten Bass. Classy.
- 28:55You might share the few K's with her.
- 29:01Beyond my gravestone, that, but not a bad gladdy.
- 29:05You would have had something to say on the finish line.
- 29:08Yeah, No, I wouldn't. What's your secret, Nadia?
- 29:12Yeah. You get such though faster,
- 29:20Dean, you said she's the world record holder, so that time that
- 29:24she's run there gives her two of the three fastest times ever as
- 29:27well. So she's got a bit of a monopoly
- 29:31over this 10K on the road. Yeah, not very impressive.
- 29:38But I don't get how you can do this one week.
- 29:42Well, you know, it's very easy to actually just not like in New
- 29:45York she was shit like black and white.
- 29:47She was terrible in New York half marathon.
- 29:49She was nowhere. She.
- 29:50Was shit. She wasn't shit.
- 29:52She just got dusted. But she tried to run.
- 29:55She tried to run Helen O'berry off her fate and just couldn't.
- 30:00She fired a heap of shots expected to be She did exactly
- 30:04what she did to everyone at World Cross.
- 30:05It's just for the first time in a long time, there was someone
- 30:08still there after she fired those shots.
- 30:12Which is really, She's running. Like, what did she run?
- 30:15What did help her beer on 65? Yeah.
- 30:19Yeah, I know what you're saying. It didn't look all that
- 30:21impressive. Yeah, she's.
- 30:23Running like 33 minutes slower. Yeah, I know.
- 30:27Yeah, it's a bit of a turn around.
- 30:29You reckon? Yeah, but that's wrong as well.
- 30:33No. Yeah, I like, I don't know.
- 30:41But yeah, it is a turn around in form, I would say from that half
- 30:45marathon. Then there was a 5K as well, was
- 30:49there? Yes.
- 30:50I assume these were the. They must have been on the same
- 30:54day. But like when you see the you've
- 30:56seen some of the clips that have come through from social media,
- 30:59like how insanely packed the road was, how the bloody hell
- 31:03would they saw all those people out?
- 31:05Like get back off the roads. There's a 10K coming through
- 31:08now. It's like Tour de France ask,
- 31:10wasn't it? Yeah, it's a good vibe.
- 31:13It looked good. Yeah, it looked very cool.
- 31:17I mean, you have to, yeah, we'll hopefully be able to get a bit
- 31:21of insight into what that atmosphere was like, right?
- 31:26Yeah, from 10. Yeah.
- 31:28Well, and you see here, we had two listeners on the ground as
- 31:32well, that Luke Duchess, the guy who sent through shit, I can't
- 31:37remember what meet it was. It was one of the indoor meets.
- 31:40He sent some videos through the other months and he, like, ran
- 31:43home. And then another guy, French
- 31:46guy, Robin Anderson, he actually ran the race himself, run like
- 31:5130-4 minute PB. So thanks like so much to those
- 31:55two. They've sent through some their
- 31:57own photos and videos, which is pretty cool.
- 32:00We can use them in the post. Did you say a 34 or 3 or 4?
- 32:053434 I think it was. Sure.
- 32:09In the 10K, yeah, yeah, it's, it's kind of full circle with
- 32:16this, this Robin guy as well. So when I lived and worked up in
- 32:19Broome, when I first moved to Australia, he was there as a
- 32:22backpacker as well. So we've done the small pieces
- 32:26of training that I'd done in Broome.
- 32:28Some of it was shared with him. And he's since moved back to
- 32:31France. Now he's racing in this race,
- 32:33sending the podcast videos. He's a good guy.
- 32:39That's very cool. So yeah.
- 32:44So in terms of the five KS, I'll read out a few of the results
- 32:48from the men's 5K. The winner was Jimmy Gracia, who
- 32:53was the Who's the current men's 10,000 meters world champion for
- 33:01on the track from Tokyo last year.
- 33:04So he won in 1251, beating home Adisu Yuno from Ethiopia in 1254
- 33:11and Jan Shrub who was third at the World Indoor 3K just getting
- 33:19out dipped by Josh Kerr and Cole Hawker was it last month He was
- 33:24third home in 1256. Some other notable mentions is
- 33:30Nordas from the Norwegian, who was seventh in 1310 and the
- 33:38Frenchman is it Flavian shot first in was 10th in the older
- 33:45fellow Frenchmen to Shrub, should I say was 10th in 1318.
- 33:51Just to comment in terms of French runners at the minute,
- 33:55are they not like it's like a ripple effect of the Olympics
- 34:01from 2024, but I just feel like there's a few men in particular
- 34:06running very well. Like it's not just one guy who's
- 34:09do you remember? Like in the Diamond Leagues last
- 34:11year, there was like 3 of them that I think broke 13 minutes
- 34:13for 5K. Like the French men are.
- 34:17I don't know if they feel like a real force.
- 34:19And you saw that, We saw that, didn't we, in the team's event
- 34:23at the World Cross as well? I feel like they're, yeah, they
- 34:28seem to have quite a bit of depth in middle distance at the
- 34:31minute, which is cool. Yeah, I've had similar thoughts.
- 34:34You know, sometimes when you scroll results and the in the
- 34:37results, they'll just have like the country's flag.
- 34:40So sometimes I'll just scroll and like I'll have the British
- 34:45flag or the Australian flag or the Irish flag in the back of my
- 34:48mind. Like if I see that, I'll stop
- 34:50and like have a look who it is and stuff.
- 34:52And now, yeah, you start to see the French flag cropping up more
- 34:56and more and more, whereas previously I would have almost
- 35:00like, no offence to French, but like, dismissed French athletes
- 35:03because I wasn't aware of them or they were never like, kind of
- 35:08at the pointy end of these results.
- 35:10But you are right. And the Paris comparison makes
- 35:14sense, I guess if they would have French government over a
- 35:18long period of time invested heavily into track and field,
- 35:20wouldn't they? And they're probably going to
- 35:23bear fruition to that for the next couple of years.
- 35:29Any comment in terms of this race?
- 35:30I mean, you guys would have, did you guys say the the highlights
- 35:34package that's been doing the the rounds on social media in
- 35:37terms of the finish? It's wild, isn't it?
- 35:43So how it? Look cool.
- 35:45That the rail you sent through, there's like 4 of them, isn't
- 35:48it? Must be Grecia.
- 35:50You hear a shrub and maybe that good honor as well.
- 35:53And there's what, like maybe 605 hundred meters to go at that
- 35:58point, and it already looks like they're all sprinting and then
- 36:03Gressier just pulls away. Doesn't mean you're like this
- 36:06guy. Hey, like, yeah, so these guys,
- 36:10he was what, 4th or he was behind them at that point in
- 36:13time. And there's this great footage
- 36:16of the his rear end basically, and he's in all white.
- 36:19He's in an all white light speed suit is press Yeah, and he's
- 36:23sitting behind them and you can just see they've ran around the
- 36:25corner. He's about to launch his attack
- 36:27because they're on the final straight and he unleashes some
- 36:32mighty kick. I mean, he only wins by three
- 36:34seconds, but it looked pretty dominant and he looked he looked
- 36:41very impressive. But as you mentioned, I don't
- 36:43think it wasn't like the guys behind him didn't have something
- 36:48left either. They looked like they were
- 36:49really pressing for home to. It's just he was, he just had
- 36:53another gear, another level. You know, you know, I love the
- 36:58facts of I've got some here. So Gressier and Shrub, who
- 37:03finished that with these runs, go #1 and #2 on the European 5K
- 37:08all list all time. And bizarrely, they replace
- 37:13themselves as #1 and #2 because they already held those
- 37:17positions, both of them. They've just each run a couple
- 37:20of seconds faster. And the reason they were there
- 37:23on the list is because they've done it the exact same thing at
- 37:26this race last year. So aggressive around 12:57 and
- 37:30Shrub 13 dead. And here they are.
- 37:33They've just nudged a couple of seconds off it again.
- 37:37And did you say have you seen if there's been a few posts on
- 37:43Gracia's splits by Cat? No.
- 37:48So the the one I can see here it's 230-3239, 238-230-5226 so.
- 37:592/26. 226 That's why I like, you know, like Shrub.
- 38:06Shrub was kicking down with the two of the best guys in the
- 38:09world, two of the best kickers in the world, right in Poland a
- 38:15month or so ago, has beaten Armgren to get the European 10K
- 38:19record like he's in some sort of form.
- 38:22And Gressie has somehow put 5 seconds into him over 500
- 38:25meters, like it was, it was very impressive, wasn't it?
- 38:30And so that, yeah, Shrubs probably closed in in 2:30,
- 38:36which is 62nd pace on the track. And he's and he's got dusted by,
- 38:40yeah, 5 seconds as Britain is. I know it was a very cool race.
- 38:48In reference to your, your French comments as well, it
- 38:50makes the European outdoors upcoming even more exciting
- 38:54because maybe you would look at that on paper and be like, oh,
- 38:57there's no US, there's no like Africans.
- 39:01But then we've now we know about Almgren, we've got the French,
- 39:05we love the British, the Irish. It'll still be insane.
- 39:11Probably the other comment as well was, and we've spoken about
- 39:16this a little bit of like with the likes of Jimmy Whelan, but
- 39:20Jimmy Grassy is shoe sponsor. Is it called Kip Run?
- 39:24Does anyone know too much about? I don't really don't know much
- 39:28about their shoes, but I just was it when it got announced?
- 39:31He just got announced that he was getting paid an absolute
- 39:33packet. About 750 K EUR was it
- 39:38something? Yeah.
- 39:39And so there's just talk about this huge bonus that he was
- 39:42getting to run in their shoes. But but the fact that he's run,
- 39:47what was he 2 seconds off the world record in these shoes?
- 39:50Like, yeah. I am, I actually just before
- 39:55Jimmy Gezi running them, but I actually bought 2 pairs there
- 39:59last week. Or two weeks ago, so I bought
- 40:02like a daily trainer, it's called like the Kip run Kip
- 40:05ride. And then I bought another one,
- 40:09the Kip run Kip storm tempo or something like that.
- 40:14And actually your man jog on Craig Crago, he actually done a
- 40:19video on that one there today and he compared it to the Super
- 40:24blast, the ASIC super blast. So they're like, I bought some
- 40:29of their, their clothes and all and like they're really cheap,
- 40:34but they're really good as well. Well, that's what I was going
- 40:38to, I was going to ask is that it's comparison maybe in field,
- 40:41but it doesn't hit the hip pocket, does it as much.
- 40:46So the daily trainer was €90.00 and the the tempo shoe was 120
- 40:55so. What does that look like?
- 40:57Because what? What when you're normally buying
- 40:59a pair of trainers? Like if you bought a pair of
- 41:01axes, what daily training will cost you?
- 41:04The Nova blast is €150 and the May are the Super blast is 220
- 41:10euro. Oh shit.
- 41:12So that's now half price basically.
- 41:17I've worn them a couple of times and he's just like once you get
- 41:21a fair idea once you put 100K into them, because I think the
- 41:24temple ones, it does like award them the first time and they
- 41:28didn't feel that great, but apparently you have to break
- 41:30them in and then they get their bounce.
- 41:33Now the daily trainer. I warned that a good bit now and
- 41:37I'm really liking that one. So, umm, like all like like I
- 41:43said this before, like all the shoe brands are on 11 playing
- 41:45level playing field. Like you just need to find what
- 41:50works for you basically, and there is cheaper alternatives
- 41:54there. Now, I don't know if he's going
- 41:55to be durable. You have to wait and see.
- 41:58But like Asic's, like the reason ASIC can probably charge as much
- 42:02because they're or indeed their research and development.
- 42:05They probably put a lot more money into like, like
- 42:08researching and developing, but like Kip run like for the price,
- 42:13it's very, very, very underrated.
- 42:16And I think there's the Catalan in Australia as well.
- 42:19So that's where you'd buy them in the Catalan.
- 42:23But yeah, it's good stuff. I do wonder with like because
- 42:28have you seen any of is it Matt Fox's through sweater Lake, some
- 42:31of his posts about going over to China and trying some of these
- 42:34shoes? I wonder if there'll be a video
- 42:36or two that comes out regarding that.
- 42:39But like May, may we see just a wave of low cost shoes that are
- 42:48manufactured similarly and perform well enough that yeah,
- 42:55shake up the current shoe market, I wonder.
- 42:59Because like, some of them are extortionate, some of them are
- 43:01so, so expensive. Like something sort of has to be
- 43:04done, but. If they don't offer anything
- 43:07drastically different from a performance spec perspective,
- 43:09which as we are saying the the likes of Jimmy Gracia running
- 43:14these times in them, it's sort of what, what are you paying for
- 43:17then? Yeah, yeah.
- 43:19It'll be problematic for the brands if any of these Chinese
- 43:23ones end up being actually good and if, well, the tenant point
- 43:28is when people start trying them, isn't it?
- 43:30And if people try them and like them, then that becomes a
- 43:34problem because people start talking about it as we're
- 43:37starting to see one of those ones Fox had on his story.
- 43:42You're saying he'd been to a market and pick them up or
- 43:45something and you're saying that they they were good, but it
- 43:49looked like he'd got them out like the lost property MPE or
- 43:53something. You know, an old pair of
- 43:56trainers someone had left in the changing rooms.
- 43:58And he's just like, don't even know what brand it is, but good.
- 44:03But yeah, the video will come no doubt, hopefully give us a
- 44:05detailed explanation. Any more comments on that 5K?
- 44:11No comment on Gressier's contract though it does look
- 44:15like it was around €800,000 and they announced that over 12
- 44:21months ago, like start of 2025. So that was obviously outrageous
- 44:27at the times, probably still outrageous now.
- 44:29But look at what he's since done.
- 44:31I wouldn't be surprised if he's going back to the negotiating
- 44:35table with them and being like, hey, he's offered to pay me this
- 44:38before. I was a world champion and I've
- 44:41just run the European record. Is there any any top up like?
- 44:46Yeah, I mean, they got him. No, didn't they?
- 44:49They they played that very, very nicely.
- 44:53And they're a French brand, so like, they love it.
- 44:57The women's 5K, Marta Alemayo from Ethiopia was the winner of
- 45:051415, Harwi Abira from Ethiopia was second in 1422 and third was
- 45:12Yenanesh Shimket from Ethiopia in 1424.
- 45:18Is it in India? Weir was 10th from JB was in
- 45:231515. Any other notable performances?
- 45:28Again, I didn't say as much out of this.
- 45:29I must admit I think it was the women's 10K and the men's 5K
- 45:33that I saw snippets from. I was doing a bit of research
- 45:38here on the person who won. So she was born, well, no
- 45:42happened. She was born in 2008 and I was
- 45:45looking at our World Athletics and she's pretty fast.
- 45:51So she's one of them Ethiopians. I don't know if her record got
- 45:53ratified because she was in that under 20.
- 45:56Remember, a load of their under 20 records didn't get ratified
- 45:59because they don't actually know their age.
- 46:03This one, her agent is Jonas McKeon Mckeonan.
- 46:08He's from America. He's also the agent for, well,
- 46:11Teji. So I'm not saying anything, but,
- 46:14well, Teji has been, well, she didn't give her doping sample.
- 46:19And he does, like, just seems to, like, represent a lot of
- 46:22Ethiopians and Kenyans. And was it always like the
- 46:27gender? I thought it was male and
- 46:29female. Now it's like man and woman on
- 46:34there and beside their name. I know that's a bit random, but
- 46:39yeah, she's super like, what age is she 17?
- 46:44Yeah. And teach gone 18 in a couple of
- 46:48days. 18-2 days, yeah. Yeah, super talented.
- 46:54Ethiopia 123 How often have we been saying that in these
- 46:58distance events? And 2000 and eight, 2000 and
- 47:02six, 2007. They're all really young as
- 47:04well. So the future looks bright, is
- 47:06it? That's that's.
- 47:09No, I was just going to mention Costa, how housing, Costa Health
- 47:13and from Germany was 7th in 1504.
- 47:16That was who I think I was trying to remember when we were
- 47:20talking about the German national all time half marathon
- 47:23times. So that's a familiar name from a
- 47:26few years ago that's must be making a return to fall.
- 47:31She was with a Nike group in America and then I think Sonia
- 47:36Sullivan used to culture or help her out, and then she's gone
- 47:39with Puma, so it's nice to see her getting back.
- 47:44The crazy thing about those Ethiopians as well as they're
- 47:48not, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that they are
- 47:52usually like some of the names that crop up in these results
- 47:56either like Halon, Beret, whoever else they are.
- 48:00Those names are kind of pretty new to me if I'm being honest.
- 48:05And the fact they're all like kind of 14 low is like way below
- 48:10British, Australian, Irish national records and there's
- 48:13just a whole crop of them down there.
- 48:16Yeah. And like, again, like this is
- 48:19the first time, well, you're one who won.
- 48:21It has got under 18 world records, and I think this one
- 48:25was an under 20 world record. And so be interesting to see
- 48:29where she ends up in the coming year if she does like Diamond
- 48:32Leagues or anything like that, because 1415 is absolutely
- 48:35rapid. In looking at the like the
- 48:39British and Irish and Australian angles on this though, it made
- 48:42me think both the Australian and the Irish records are
- 48:47potentially gettable, that they wouldn't be easy.
- 48:50But Beneatha Willis from Australia to still hold a record
- 48:54from 2002 suggests it might be a little bit outdated.
- 48:58And that's maybe because five KS on the road aren't all that
- 49:03popular in Australia as they are in Europe.
- 49:06But I think there's a there's a fair few Australian girls who
- 49:09could run 1459 right now. So if if the records are
- 49:15weighted equally in the contracts, I'd be I'd be
- 49:19targeting that if I was one of these girls and the.
- 49:23Average. What?
- 49:25You're one there. Marta Aleimo.
- 49:26She won the under 20 world cross country title in Tallahassee
- 49:31this year. So yeah, she's on one.
- 49:38The Irish record Owen goes back to your one Sonya O'Sullivan.
- 49:43Your woman not cheering, 1456. 1456 yeah, like when you're
- 49:50hitting them sub trim in a case, it's it's getting fast.
- 49:56What of Irish women run on the track?
- 49:58Because I'm trying to think what British women is like 1420 odd
- 50:031430. I know the road gets slower,
- 50:08can't be 30 seconds slower. I don't know like I don't might
- 50:12get in trouble for this, but I don't think the Irish like Irish
- 50:15male distance running is in a better position than the Irish
- 50:19female distance running like some little lads.
- 50:23I think Brian Faye has run 13 O1, Dara Mcaleny is around 13 O
- 50:272 and Nick Griggs is around like 13 O six or something like that
- 50:31is up there. And I don't think like normally
- 50:34in the distance event, Ireland don't really do anything in the
- 50:36women. So there's a bit of work to be
- 50:40done. Yeah, well the here we go the
- 50:43fastest 5K on the road from an Irish woman since 2003 is 1535.
- 50:52That was Emily Kearney in 2025. Like that's not not going to get
- 50:57you into many European competitions.
- 51:02Right then Leo Dunn and dusted spent quite a while in France
- 51:06there, but some good analysis store gift also happened this
- 51:10weekend. I can't come to terms with this
- 51:13event. It's an all of the gifts across.
- 51:16Do they have them all over Australia or is it like largely
- 51:18A Victorian thing like the handicap events?
- 51:22Aren't they So like it can be Dean, I might need your help
- 51:25here, but I'll try and explain it.
- 51:27It can be anyone from like club runner up to professional
- 51:31athletes can start in these races and everyone is assigned A
- 51:36handicap relative to their form or ability.
- 51:41So they everyone starts at different points around the
- 51:44track to try and make the race fair on paper as pay form.
- 51:49So you can have middle-aged fellas, middle-aged women, old
- 51:53fellas, old women, juniors, pros, all on the same start
- 51:57line. And they run this on a grass
- 52:00track, which is in a run bit of a random shape, isn't it?
- 52:03Kind of like, I don't know how you would describe it, like an
- 52:08Oval but with one pointy end and that this it's you typically.
- 52:16It's just normal grass track. Is it?
- 52:19Yeah, yeah, they measure out a grass track.
- 52:21Yeah. A 400 meter Oval.
- 52:24Yeah, yeah. But the sprints are 120 meter,
- 52:27so they're like diagonal across the Oval if you get me.
- 52:32Yeah, and most of the disciplines are Sprint
- 52:38orientated, but there are 800 mile, maybe even 2 mile.
- 52:44Yeah, so when I was there in 2024, I'd done this all gift.
- 52:48I'd done the two mile, so I was off.
- 52:51I think I had the third worst handicap, so there was 2.
- 52:56I think I was running off 2800 meters or something.
- 52:59Oh no, a 2002, 1960 meters or something like that.
- 53:05I'd a little bit of a head start on like two people, but then
- 53:08other people could have had like a lap head start on me.
- 53:12So it is. But like I think it's yeah, it
- 53:15is based on your PB. So they were using the PB from
- 53:19like a while back for me. But the whole point is to give
- 53:24everyone like a fair ad advantage.
- 53:28I think it is a really, really cool concept.
- 53:31But apparently because the style gift it's it's the richest foot
- 53:34race in is it the world or Australia?
- 53:41It's like 60 grand for the win basically.
- 53:44So it's heard of that people go hiding for a couple of years
- 53:48because it's worth their while to get a really good handicap
- 53:52today and just come out of the blue and win this race and you
- 53:55can well, you definitely used to be able to gamble as well.
- 53:59So you could bet on people to win.
- 54:03Now I don't know how that works when the when there's like under
- 54:06eighteens in the race. I don't know if you can do on
- 54:08that, but yeah, I remember I was terrible odds when I went there.
- 54:15Yeah, no, it's a really, really cool and it's in the middle of
- 54:17nowhere. So when I was doing my regional
- 54:20work, I just grabbed the first thing I could get and I was
- 54:23working then in a caravan park install.
- 54:27So when I heard them like you rock up there, it's like three
- 54:31hours outside Melbourne when you rock up.
- 54:34And I was like, this is where the richest foot race in
- 54:36Australia is. I was like, how did this like
- 54:39there's a turn track at the other side of like the, the
- 54:44village or town or whatever. Like all there is is 1 Woolies,
- 54:48a gym hall, a couple of coffee shops.
- 54:50Like it's tiny and in the middle of nowhere.
- 54:54So it's it's actually, it's pretty, pretty good.
- 54:57I'd highly recommend going if you ever over there in April.
- 55:03Did you get eaten up on your handicap by the two fellows
- 55:05behind you? No, I actually I was.
- 55:10They finished like halfway down the home straight.
- 55:13I don't know what way it works, but I was coming.
- 55:16I was winning coming around the bend and two lads passed me so I
- 55:21came third. But there's good money in it.
- 55:23I still think I've got like £190.00 for coming third, which
- 55:28yeah, it's, it plays well. Not bad when you pulling your
- 55:35weights on a caravan park to go and pick up £190.00.
- 55:38And the year I was there and it was everything was so I
- 55:43literally got off for like 2 hours.
- 55:45I could warm up racing and I was going to go back to work because
- 55:48the caravan park is absolutely packed that time of year because
- 55:51everyone comes to it and so. Christian Coleman are in that
- 55:57caravan this year. Genuine.
- 55:59It's crazy to think that 2 like celebrities are rocking up to
- 56:03like the back ass of Australia. But the year I was there it
- 56:09absolutely last rained so they couldn't actually run the races.
- 56:14They had to like post delay everything.
- 56:16Like Peter Ball was there. I remember.
- 56:18That one, yeah. It absolutely last rain, so they
- 56:22were good enough. I they let me stay on, but my 18
- 56:25had to go back to work. She missed it.
- 56:28Or she might just came back up for the race or something like
- 56:30that. I can't remember.
- 56:31But yeah, it's a really, really cool event.
- 56:35But yeah, we don't really usually cover the Sprint
- 56:37results, but this felt like a bit of a special occasion to
- 56:41mentioned that Shikari, well, she was like huge star sign.
- 56:46And like, I couldn't believe that.
- 56:49I thought it was like April Fool's or something when you
- 56:51read the headlines. Shikari Richardson and Christian
- 56:53Coleman are coming to the store gift.
- 56:56And she managed to win the women's 120 meters off a
- 57:01handicap of scratch, which meant that she runs the full distance
- 57:05and then everyone else is staggered, starts ahead of her.
- 57:08And they have this like really cool drone shot.
- 57:11You will have seen the clips where you get a bed's eye view
- 57:15of all the lanes and you can see perfectly, like the gaps each
- 57:19person has on each other. And the way you just see her
- 57:22like eat them all is absolutely outrageous because in fairness,
- 57:26in the final, she's they're all very, very good athletes.
- 57:31And like Owen said, some of them have just tried to fiddle their
- 57:34handicap so they can have a bit of a better shot at winning.
- 57:38But when you see them, they're all in insane shape, like very
- 57:42fast, over 100 meter time trial. Like some of them are handlers
- 57:45and stuff. And then, yeah, you see what
- 57:48Shikari can do to these women. It's outrageous.
- 57:52And I think the the organizers in the meet will have got their
- 57:55money's worth out of hair from that.
- 57:59And it's normally very rare to see bucket back market win like
- 58:02I think it was. Is it Brie masters?
- 58:04She might have changed her. She might have married recently,
- 58:07but she won last year from the back and I think that was quite
- 58:12unusual. While the bookies would have
- 58:13been lame. Pretty good odds for that.
- 58:16But then to yeah, see it happen again.
- 58:18And did you see Shikari Richardson semi final because
- 58:24they did a hate and I think that's the one that did the
- 58:26rounds on social media earlier over the long weekend.
- 58:29But then yesterday she had a sorry Saturday, she had a semi
- 58:33final or might have even be yesterday morning.
- 58:36And then they ran the final in the afternoon.
- 58:37But she won her semi finals. So they've they've run these
- 58:40semi finals, but it's only the winner of each semi final goes
- 58:43through to the final. And she eased up crossing the
- 58:46line and there was someone in a very wide line to her very
- 58:49outside that she didn't see. I don't perhaps didn't see but
- 58:53she's easing up and she literally just picked the person
- 58:56through their head forward to dip.
- 58:59The person that Shikari was racing her head crossed the line
- 59:03before her but her chest didn't. And you mentioned from the chest
- 59:06so she literally just got through which is pretty cool.
- 59:09Yeah, it's literally like that. She's so close the the
- 59:14organizers would have been sweating like.
- 59:16What are you doing? Yeah, I mean, then everyone
- 59:19would have tuned tuned out if she didn't make the final.
- 59:22But it's a bit crazy the way they didn't do Mori plant as
- 59:24well. Like they could have easily won
- 59:25up sprinting Mori plant. Like just made the money.
- 59:29Yeah and the appearance fee you would have thought you would
- 59:31have got because more plants, Yeah, yeah, makes no sense.
- 59:36Let's. Say no most let's say no money
- 59:38to pay them. I'd say try and get Shikari and
- 59:40Christian Coleman like as a package deal to Murray plant and
- 59:43the gift the the state of Victoria would be would feel
- 59:49that hard in the pockets. Did they did that just get done
- 59:52for D while something like that maybe there's like a dangerous.
- 59:55Drivement, yeah. Yeah, maybe there's.
- 59:57Some hate cases. Their hate cases.
- 59:59Yeah. So maybe there's.
- 59:59Hasn't she? There's been like a domestic
- 1:00:02violence case from hair to him as well.
- 1:00:07And she missed a world champs with.
- 1:00:09Didn't she get done for weed? Yeah, they're always in the news
- 1:00:14for the wrong reasons. Yeah.
- 1:00:17Spicy character say the least. Yeah.
- 1:00:21Was funny though, you know, after that semi final you just
- 1:00:23mentioned mentioned and she got interviewed and she said
- 1:00:27something like, Oh yeah, you know, like run through the line
- 1:00:31and the guy's like run through the line.
- 1:00:33You just backed off and almost missed the final.
- 1:00:35And she was like, well, yeah, I promise I'll run through the
- 1:00:37line for the final. Just.
- 1:00:40Pretty chill. But yeah, her partner didn't
- 1:00:46manage to win the men's one. I think he he went out in the
- 1:00:48semis. He couldn't, he couldn't make up
- 1:00:51the ground of the handicaps. And the fella who did win, she,
- 1:00:56I don't even know who he was, but they were saying basically
- 1:01:00it kind of been written for him almost based on his handicap,
- 1:01:05like he was the favorite. I think if you're talking about
- 1:01:08the bookies, odds and stuff, it was pretty comprehensive as
- 1:01:12well. He's kind of like in the lead
- 1:01:13the whole way. Wasn't as dramatic as the
- 1:01:16women's one. Happy to move on from stall.
- 1:01:21Yeah. Should we mention as well what
- 1:01:26the segment sponsor? So yeah, Running Results is
- 1:01:33proudly brought to you by Bix Nutrition, developed by
- 1:01:36athletes, for athletes. Please visit bixvitamins.com for
- 1:01:42all your race day and training day needs.
- 1:01:46User code double for 20% off. Right, training weeks, this one,
- 1:01:52as we mentioned earlier with the move to Patreon, we're going to
- 1:01:54take a lot of our training tour conversations over to the easy
- 1:01:59double club there and kind of go a bit more in depth and have a
- 1:02:02bit more fun with it because we speak that much about these
- 1:02:06results and we're trying to give you like a lot of insight into
- 1:02:09the stories and stuff for the people who are winning these
- 1:02:11races and finishing second, third, fourth, not just their
- 1:02:15time. So we feel like we're kind of
- 1:02:18undercook in our training weeks on here and not giving it as
- 1:02:21much justice as maybe it deserves or in my case it
- 1:02:25doesn't deserve seen as alls have been doing is cycling.
- 1:02:29But we'll still provide a summary of what we've been up
- 1:02:32to. So I mean, Bridges closing in
- 1:02:35for me. So just had another nice session
- 1:02:38last week. Bit of a threshold, 13K2 by 2K2
- 1:02:42by 1K with Dean and some of the lot around the lake, which,
- 1:02:49yeah, it's interesting this bridges is coming around pretty
- 1:02:51quick. Don't know what to make of it,
- 1:02:53but we'll be there nonetheless. And how'd this session feel like
- 1:02:59compared to the last couple of weeks?
- 1:03:033K was good because I was deliberately being being
- 1:03:07influenced by all this bloody Norwegian shit.
- 1:03:10Double threshold and whether that's a good thing or not, but
- 1:03:15it's in my head that I need to be running my intervals a little
- 1:03:18bit more controlled. So the 3K was more within
- 1:03:22myself, which is good. The instruction was for the two
- 1:03:252K's to feel like true threshold.
- 1:03:27So the first one was fine, three 20s or something.
- 1:03:31Then the second one got a little bit tough towards the end and
- 1:03:34then the two by 1K as I think we picked it up.
- 1:03:37So maybe like for me it was like 350 and 312 or something.
- 1:03:41So nice confidence boost, I guess only heading any trending
- 1:03:48upwards. Hopefully with all this, we're
- 1:03:51continuing to come together. And yeah, the bike remains a
- 1:03:56constant. Either of you when you were
- 1:03:59saying offline that you'd you'd had a decent week.
- 1:04:04Yeah, so I rather so it's easier on in Monday and Wednesday
- 1:04:11Friday off double threshold on a Tuesday 1 threshold on a
- 1:04:17Thursday. Saturday was spicy, done some
- 1:04:20hills and then I had a threshold after a boys.
- 1:04:24The fucking weather it is absolutely, it was biblical.
- 1:04:31The rain that fell on Saturday evening.
- 1:04:34I kid like no altitude, no heat training could prepare you for
- 1:04:40whatever shit I had to run through on Saturday evening.
- 1:04:43The wind, the rain, it was whipping around like one Rep.
- 1:04:47The wind would be it with you. The next Rep would be in your
- 1:04:49face. It would the rain was falling
- 1:04:52that hard. It was, it was hurting like it
- 1:04:55was so shit. But yeah, just getting it done.
- 1:05:03Just getting it done. And obviously I took Black Case
- 1:05:07and all that sort of stuff. And so I'll go into that more in
- 1:05:10the other episodes. But yeah.
- 1:05:14And then Sunday just happened like sort of an easy enough run
- 1:05:17and but yeah, getting it done. I'll have a big month of racing
- 1:05:21in May, so I sort of have a little plan roll out for the
- 1:05:27summer and but yeah, literally just trying to take these weeks
- 1:05:30off and I'm sort of like, I'm definitely like on the line.
- 1:05:35I just do not want to cross the line.
- 1:05:40That's the perfect place to be. Yeah.
- 1:05:43Well, I'd say I'm just tipping over the line.
- 1:05:47I just need to pull it back a little bit, yeah.
- 1:05:51Trying my training week, I mean, just similar to I think the last
- 1:05:55four or five weeks has been very much the same lot longer
- 1:06:01threshold work on a Tuesday, Thursday, it'll be bike
- 1:06:05intervals in the morning and then a threshold session in the
- 1:06:09afternoon. So yeah, the same Tuesday
- 1:06:13workout as what we did with you Ryan.
- 1:06:15And then I think the Thursday afternoon was 2 by a minute on,
- 1:06:19one minute off. So a bit more of like a
- 1:06:20continuous fart leg rather than static recovery that's been past
- 1:06:24few weeks. Wasn't anything particularly
- 1:06:29impressive, but just getting more work done.
- 1:06:33Long ride Saturday and a longer long ish run on Sunday.
- 1:06:39My biggest issue at the moment is not necessarily thickness as
- 1:06:43well. I mean, that's obviously the
- 1:06:45goal is to get fit up, but I'm just.
- 1:06:47This is always an issue. That's right.
- 1:06:50No matter how fit you are. It's never fit enough but my
- 1:06:55ability to increase my running load.
- 1:06:58I'm a little bit hamstrung just with my right hand me at the
- 1:07:01minute, so feel like I'm in a little bit of a holding pattern,
- 1:07:05but other than that I can't complain.
- 1:07:07Everything's. Everything's good.
- 1:07:12Nice. Well, yeah, we'll unpack a bit
- 1:07:15more on On the Other Record because I've got a few bits as
- 1:07:18well. Running News.
- 1:07:21Running News is powered by Nomio, the performance
- 1:07:23supplement trusted by Andrus Armgren, Cole Hocher, Connor
- 1:07:26Mance, Izzy Bath Doyle and many more.
- 1:07:28So drink Nomio and prepare. Prepare to outperform.
- 1:07:32I'm got too much in here for this week, but did you see that
- 1:07:34Mance has pulled the pin on Boston, sadly.
- 1:07:39Did say that. Also did say that he's training
- 1:07:43partner dropped a new video ahead of Boston.
- 1:07:45Did you? So, yeah, it's sort of did,
- 1:07:51yeah. I don't know.
- 1:07:52I don't know what else to say about connemates, but I did see
- 1:07:55Clayton Young's video and enjoyed that.
- 1:07:58Like for Clayton, for Clayton, like I don't know how I'd take
- 1:08:02it. Like like Clacy or was it Lacey?
- 1:08:05What's his name? Clinger.
- 1:08:08Casey, Casey Klinger. Casey Klinger, like he's a head
- 1:08:11of play in Young like he is going around, yeah.
- 1:08:15So was it like so was Casey who was dropping him in the workout
- 1:08:20when they did the morning tempo? Yeah, like shit.
- 1:08:23Casey is fit, yeah, and that'd be hard to take, I'd say.
- 1:08:27Well, he's finally, he's finally got man's injured and about to
- 1:08:32put some work in and then he's now he's getting dusted by
- 1:08:35someone else. Yeah.
- 1:08:38And he's the nicest bloke you can imagine that all you want is
- 1:08:42for him to. Succeed, yeah, but yeah, so be
- 1:08:48interested. I think Casey is doing Boston as
- 1:08:51well. And so yeah, I know.
- 1:08:55But yeah, again, like unbelievable content from Peyton
- 1:08:58Young. And just even like even the
- 1:09:01environment, like, so he he does in this latest video, does that
- 1:09:08tempo workout and then it sort of doesn't go to plan.
- 1:09:10So then he's, well, let's make the most of it and do a workout
- 1:09:14in the afternoon. And who does?
- 1:09:15He just gets to join in with the BYU like college crew.
- 1:09:21And it's like, what a handy like backup.
- 1:09:23It's like, oh, my AM session didn't go to plan on then just
- 1:09:26run with all these elite young kids.
- 1:09:29Yeah, like, it's a pretty cool environment.
- 1:09:32And then don't you love Ed Arstone's Just how he says ready
- 1:09:36and go like that sounds such. Familiar ready Go.
- 1:09:44And Hassan pulled out of London as well, apparently.
- 1:09:48So it's a big name gone. Boston's two weeks today, that's
- 1:09:57that's exciting. And then London is the Sunday,
- 1:09:59so Boston's on a Monday and London is the Sunday after.
- 1:10:02So we're going to be on overtime because we usually record on the
- 1:10:07Monday. That typical Monday slot we'd
- 1:10:09miss, we wouldn't capture the Boston results.
- 1:10:12So we'll have to try and figure something out for Tuesday,
- 1:10:16Wednesday to bring those cover those results.
- 1:10:20We'll make it work. With with the man's thing, I
- 1:10:24don't know whether is it like a dual respect his integrity or
- 1:10:30honesty in pulling out because he doesn't feel like he's going
- 1:10:34to run a PB or whatever. Or do I don't know how I feel
- 1:10:39about it because he hasn't necessarily said that he's
- 1:10:41injured as he kind of alluded to the fact that training isn't
- 1:10:45where he'd want it to be. Which I mean, I guess he's been
- 1:10:49a true professional and high performance culture in not
- 1:10:54wanting to do something he's not proud of.
- 1:10:56But. I think I respect it more
- 1:10:58because he could easily just get a nice payday and freaking like
- 1:11:01run it and then just pull out after a certain amount because
- 1:11:04he's not 100%. Whereas he's just not going to
- 1:11:07bother because he could put himself in more of a hole or he
- 1:11:11might actually have a little niggle that he just doesn't want
- 1:11:14to like push the bow out more on.
- 1:11:18It Is he going to go a marathon like you're going to want to
- 1:11:23take yourself to the absolute limit.
- 1:11:24Like you, you want, you want your body and to be ready to go
- 1:11:29where you're inevitably going to take yourself to mentally, I
- 1:11:32think. It's sort of like Jake is in the
- 1:11:37same similar situation, like does he want to run London and
- 1:11:42absolutely do himself in for the rest of the year?
- 1:11:45I don't know if I would. Yeah, but then isn't Connor like
- 1:11:49still why I had the Casey and Clayton in these videos in
- 1:11:55training? Yeah, but I think there's one
- 1:11:57thing doing it in a mile wrap when you're doing it for 42 K,
- 1:12:01it just beats you up so much. I think you have to be 100% or
- 1:12:04you're at nothing. You're pissing against the wind.
- 1:12:08And what did he finish fourth there last year, I think, didn't
- 1:12:11he? So it's kind of like podium or
- 1:12:12bust at the minute. Yeah, yeah, that's all.
- 1:12:17He just wants a world major podium and I think it's crazy
- 1:12:19that Patty Deaver has one before him.
- 1:12:22Yeah, wild upcoming races. There's two marathons this
- 1:12:27weekend on the 12th, the Rotterdam and the Paris
- 1:12:30Marathons. We may have some from the elite
- 1:12:35start list here. Yeah, what do you think of these
- 1:12:38graphics, fellas? Yeah, you just whip that
- 1:12:41together, get you on the Instagram.
- 1:12:45That was a little bit of chat Che BT.
- 1:12:49That's the which ones? That's the Paris 1.
- 1:12:52So in the women's field in Paris, Elise, that Elisa Vinyo,
- 1:12:58she's that Finnish woman who we spoke about.
- 1:13:02Did she run Valencia or something earlier in the year?
- 1:13:05And we said like she'd run 4 marathons in five months or
- 1:13:09something. So only like 2 months have
- 1:13:12passed. So she's she's out in another
- 1:13:15marathon. This will be like a 5th or 6th
- 1:13:18within about 8 months and she's ran 220.
- 1:13:21It's up to 20 multiple times. Oh well, no, she hasn't.
- 1:13:26Her PBS there to 2039. Close.
- 1:13:35She's very good. Did she run her PB in one of
- 1:13:38these racing attempts? Do you know, Ron?
- 1:13:40I mean, not that it's probably creditable based on what you
- 1:13:43just said, but. I think so.
- 1:13:48Let me double check. Now you tell me some of the
- 1:13:50other field. Well, and the only reason so the
- 1:13:53the the the limited accent field that we have in front of us is
- 1:13:58Sharon Chilimo who boasted PB21933 and then Elisa Vanyo who
- 1:14:06we just spoke about Finnish athlete 22039 in she.
- 1:14:11Won. She won Seville, so I think she
- 1:14:14don't yeah, she won Seville after doing world cross or
- 1:14:17something like that. Who?
- 1:14:17Wants a bill? You won, Lisa Venyo.
- 1:14:20All right, OK. And so Annette Netesh Tirasu in
- 1:14:26has a PB of 22048 to slower than Vinyo and then Magdalene Masai
- 1:14:32who has the quickest PB of 21858.
- 1:14:35I feel like Vinyo could be the the woman to be if she's able to
- 1:14:41recover from the recent headed latest marathon.
- 1:14:47So she'd done Valencia in the December, and then she'd done
- 1:14:50Seville in the following February. 2/22/20.
- 1:14:57She also, prior to Valencia, she'd done the Tokyo Marathon in
- 1:15:01September, ran 228th. After Tokyo, she ran the Finnish
- 1:15:05Marathon Championships, 223 into Valencia in December, 220 into
- 1:15:11Seville in February, 220 into Paris in April.
- 1:15:19It's crazy that like she's what has Izzy around 2:23, like she
- 1:15:27puts 3 minutes into Izzy and Izzy is very, very good.
- 1:15:32Might have to to speak to the marketing guys at Nomeo because
- 1:15:36if this girl isn't an advert for Nomeo being a recovery tool then
- 1:15:42I don't know what it is because she she does have the broccoli
- 1:15:45emoji and her bio. Will you be getting up to take
- 1:15:49yours in the morning, Ryan? Surely off the.
- 1:15:51Best start to think, best start. So yeah, at least we've got some
- 1:15:56results this weekend to take us through to Boston the weekend
- 1:16:00after, and it's the weekend after is actually Australian
- 1:16:03Nationals too. It's all happening.
- 1:16:07Well, yeah, just in the men's field for Paris.
- 1:16:09We've got Victor Kiplangat, 20509 guy.
- 1:16:14Is it kindy Attenau, Yemen Crippa from Italy, 20606 guy is
- 1:16:201 to 1 to watch, surely. Hilary Kipkowicz, 204 guy and
- 1:16:27that is it. Matthias Kibers, Where's he
- 1:16:30from? Sounds familiar.
- 1:16:33Named 206 Guy as well. So I guess my take away of these
- 1:16:38fields is the like Paris Marathon Gold Label event feel
- 1:16:42feels like there's some, I mean, we're obviously running into
- 1:16:46peak marathon season for like the 2 two sides of it Field
- 1:16:51seems a bit watered down for a gold Label event.
- 1:16:53Was that did you guys think similar?
- 1:16:57I'm surprised that they even got Crippa but surely London?
- 1:17:01But London and Boston make they take majority.
- 1:17:06Don't they like those fields are absolutely stacked and they've
- 1:17:09gutted them and then the likes of this field and then like
- 1:17:12Rotterdam, pretty sure the world record was run in Rotterdam back
- 1:17:15in the day. But it's not boasting the
- 1:17:17strongest field either. This is who I think is running
- 1:17:20in the men's race. You've got Barani Legesi, who we
- 1:17:23know is 2O2 guy Hammernot Allu, who I'm not familiar with, two O
- 1:17:283. Guy Bashir Abdi, who we are
- 1:17:31familiar with, two O 3, Eric Sang 204 and Kenneth Kick Kamoy
- 1:17:35204. So a stronger field, but as you
- 1:17:39would expect for the likes of Rotterdam, which is a
- 1:17:41notoriously very fast marathon, and other women's side, Shitai
- 1:17:44Isheti 220 and yeah 2, two other three other Ethiopian or Kenyan
- 1:17:54ladies all running in all boasting PBS of between 2:20 and
- 1:17:572:21. So again, not the strongest
- 1:18:01field for a gold label event. Rotterdam is where Sussman went
- 1:18:06last year with his almost as was it Rotterdam.
- 1:18:10I know, it's Amsterdam, wasn't it?
- 1:18:13That's where my guy horses. Who's the lad who got the
- 1:18:19marathoner who got killed? The Kenyan world record holder.
- 1:18:25Kept them Kelvin. That's where he was going to
- 1:18:27run, then he got killed. There's I think a video, isn't
- 1:18:31there? A YouTube video of De Costello
- 1:18:34back when, before he won his, when he was on top of the world,
- 1:18:38was he racing Salazar or Carlos Slope Lopez or Lopes, racing a
- 1:18:43couple of those guys around the streets of Rotterdam.
- 1:18:45There's an old YouTube clip of that.
- 1:18:47Very good. I think it finishes inside.
- 1:18:50It finishes like in a hall or something if I'm not wrong.
- 1:18:58Any any any double trouble from either of you 2 over this long
- 1:19:04Easter weekend? Yeah, the Irish weather is a
- 1:19:07joke. It's actually pissed me off so
- 1:19:10much. It's a daylight savings.
- 1:19:14I haven't helped you. Yes.
- 1:19:16I know I top a minute. Yeah, it's after coming good in
- 1:19:18the last couple of days. Like it's bright now at six when
- 1:19:21I'm up, but it's just so wet and windy and it's April.
- 1:19:29Like why do we like, why do we choose to live here when you've
- 1:19:34got like Spain, like like a short flight away where it's.
- 1:19:38Sunny. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:19:42Yeah. You don't.
- 1:19:45You choose to live in every bloody corner of the world.
- 1:19:48Yeah, I don't really have a double trouble.
- 1:19:57I'm all double troubled out. What about you, Ryan?
- 1:20:00You said you've been sitting on a couple.
- 1:20:03No, I'll give you 1 the store gift the from the handicap
- 1:20:09fiddling point of view, I don't get it.
- 1:20:11Like, I know it's probably hard for the organizers to protect
- 1:20:15the integrity of it, but the fact that the name of the game
- 1:20:20for people is almost to fiddle their handicaps as like as
- 1:20:26brutally as they can or to just it's like as close to cheating
- 1:20:31as you can get to cheating by giving yourself a mark.
- 1:20:34Like I don't understand it. No like.
- 1:20:37They they look up the results like the results have to be
- 1:20:42certified. So basically you have to go hide
- 1:20:44in for a couple of years and not people run a result.
- 1:20:48They can still turn off and deliberately run shifts.
- 1:20:54But you have to keep doing that is Owen's point.
- 1:20:56And imagine if the if because then you go on like a bit of a
- 1:20:59pro circuit and if you constantly do that, you make no
- 1:21:01money. Yeah.
- 1:21:04But you have to be committed to this to really fuck it up.
- 1:21:07Don't try and stole's been going from was it 1800 and something.
- 1:21:13It's so old. Don't.
- 1:21:14Yeah, Ryan's threatening to shit on it.
- 1:21:16Come on mate. No, not store itself, just the
- 1:21:20the fiddlers. What are we talking about now?
- 1:21:26Always be a double trouble. But yes, there is a bit of a
- 1:21:32disincentive there with these sorts of races, isn't there to
- 1:21:35not run your best, which is why I think it has a limited place
- 1:21:39unfortunately, those handicapping races.
- 1:21:41But I guess what I would say in the opposite to that.
- 1:21:45So for little athletics in cross country season, the way it used
- 1:21:49to work here, and I don't know if it still does, I hope it
- 1:21:52does, but you would go to a different course every week or
- 1:21:57every second week and it was a three kilometer run.
- 1:22:01And you would, you would do a scratch race and then you would
- 1:22:04get a handicap based on that. And then everyone would go off
- 1:22:06their handicap and you would run those handicaps and then you
- 1:22:09would get a reset handicap race halfway through the season.
- 1:22:12And they're constant, constantly tinkered with your handicaps.
- 1:22:16But what it meant was different kids.
- 1:22:18It wasn't the same kid winning your 3K cross country every
- 1:22:21Saturday. It was different kids.
- 1:22:23And you would just learn to. And you would constantly, even
- 1:22:25if you're the back marker would constantly be pushing because
- 1:22:28you're trying to catch people in front of you.
- 1:22:30And it was a lot of fun. So I, you would then every six
- 1:22:35months or something have your championship or whatever you
- 1:22:38would call it, where you would race and for one, 2-3 across the
- 1:22:41line would get a prize. But otherwise, every other week
- 1:22:44you would the one 2-3 would often be someone different
- 1:22:48because if you kept winning, naturally you just got
- 1:22:49handicapped out of it. But that was a fun way of using
- 1:22:54a handicap and perhaps where where it could work well, albeit
- 1:22:59that, like you say, it gets a bit when you put bedding around
- 1:23:02us and those sorts of things you can get manipulated.
- 1:23:07Yeah, it's a. It's a good way for people have
- 1:23:10different abilities to be in the same race and be competitive
- 1:23:12against each other. But yeah, the point being, it's
- 1:23:14hard to police. It could be us for the episode.
- 1:23:20Are we over and out? Yeah, I think so, boys.
- 1:23:25Nice. Delivered.
- 1:23:28Last bit of Easter. Yeah, chance to eat.
- 1:23:33Actually I'm starting doing speed and sort of these speed
- 1:23:36sessions on a Monday. More stuff.
- 1:23:39So you're in the neuromuscular stuff.
- 1:23:41Yeah, we'll chat about that in a bit.
- 1:23:45Shit, watch out. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:47Watch out. I'm going to be dropping some
- 1:23:4972nd 400. All right then, speak to you
- 1:23:54soon. Go on, boys, Good.
- 1:23:56Luck. Hey lads.
- 1:23:57Yeah.
