- 0:00Speaker 1: It appears Israel seal the fate of Tucker Carlson as well.
- 0:03Speaker 1: For months, Republicans have been painting him as anti Semitic.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And I will say, on the right, I have seen
- 0:12Speaker 2: more anti semitism in the last eighteen months. On the right,
- 0:16Speaker 2: it is being spread by loud voices, the most consequential
- 0:23Speaker 2: of whom is Tucker Carlson. I believe Tucker Carlson is
- 0:28Speaker 2: the single most dangerous demagogue in this country.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Carlson says he is done with the Republican Party. He
- 0:35Speaker 1: says it puts the interest of Israel above those of
- 0:38Speaker 1: its own citizens.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I would not support the Republican Party. There's no chance
- 0:43Speaker 3: I would support the Republican Party. Not going to support
- 0:45Speaker 3: the Democratic Party. I don't know what I'm going to do,
- 0:48Speaker 3: but at this point, you know, how could you support
- 0:50Speaker 3: How could I or any American voters support a political
- 0:53Speaker 3: party that's not loyal to the United States.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Group chat is back, tam We're going two ends of
- 1:01Speaker 1: the spectrum here, right, and then it meets up at
- 1:03Speaker 1: the top horseshoe politics. I think what's interesting is that
- 1:07Speaker 1: Tucker has been at odds with the White House for
- 1:09Speaker 1: many months. Almost every time there's a foreign intervention, but
- 1:13Speaker 1: this one in particular seems to have pushed him over
- 1:15Speaker 1: the edge in terms of how he speaks publicly.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I think that what is happening here with Tucker Carlson,
- 1:21Speaker 4: with Ted Cruz is various parts of what has been
- 1:25Speaker 4: the Republican coalition figuring out what happens in a potential
- 1:28Speaker 4: post Trump reality and positioning themselves. And there are flashpoints.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Israel is going to be a flashpoint. It didn't used
- 1:35Speaker 4: to be Republicans were all very pro Israel. That's not
- 1:38Speaker 4: the case anymore. And I think you're going to see
- 1:40Speaker 4: it over abortion and other issues as well.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah, Marjorie Taylor Green tweeting, Tucker's not the only one
- 1:45Speaker 1: who's done supporting the Republican Party. This is her. I
- 1:47Speaker 1: think on X there's a lot of us that are
- 1:50Speaker 1: absolutely fed up and will not support a party that
- 1:52Speaker 1: betrays its voters and country. That doesn't mean we're turning
- 1:56Speaker 1: into Democrats, either, but we are done with the America
- 1:59Speaker 1: Last Republican Party.
- 2:01Speaker 5: There's something going on here.
- 2:02Speaker 6: It's not just this issue. If you think about this issue,
- 2:05Speaker 6: you think about the war, you think about the Epstein files,
- 2:08Speaker 6: you have all of these activists on the right who
- 2:10Speaker 6: voted for Donald Trump because of those three things, and
- 2:12Speaker 6: Tucker Carlson Major, maybe Marjorie Taylor Green or trying to
- 2:16Speaker 6: tap into that. The old political consultant here thinks it
- 2:18Speaker 6: has a lot to do with twenty twenty.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Eight atally, Yeah, twenty twenty eight. And also where the
- 2:22Speaker 1: public sentiment is. I mean, when I went to look
- 2:24Speaker 1: at the Pew Research polls, I was trying to figure out, Okay,
- 2:27Speaker 1: what are the views of Israel right now? Based on
- 2:29Speaker 1: the polling, And in twenty twenty two, Republicans we're at
- 2:33Speaker 1: twenty seven percent with an unfavorable view of Israel. Now
- 2:36Speaker 1: they're at forty one, which means it's almost doubled. And meanwhile, Democrats,
- 2:40Speaker 1: of course we know in twenty twenty two to fifty
- 2:42Speaker 1: three percent, now they're at eighty percent. So a Mom,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Donnie or a Tucker, they're speaking to the people who
- 2:48Speaker 1: moved in this shift from twenty twenty two to now.
- 2:51Speaker 7: Israel is what they're fighting right now. But I think
- 2:54Speaker 7: it's very important to say they're against any sort of
- 2:57Speaker 7: foreign conflict, right I don't think it's just Israel. I
- 3:00Speaker 7: think it would be if we were Obviously no one
- 3:02Speaker 7: on the Republican side wanted us to be in Ukraine either,
- 3:04Speaker 7: so I think that's but I agree with Chuck in
- 3:06Speaker 7: regards but.
- 3:07Speaker 1: He's not leading over Venezuela like it feels as.
- 3:10Speaker 7: No, but we're not at war. I mean that was
- 3:12Speaker 7: like something very quick. We don't have a lot of
- 3:14Speaker 7: troops on the ground, you know, we're not. And anyway,
- 3:16Speaker 7: I think that's a little bit different, but I get
- 3:18Speaker 7: your point. I also think that Marjor Taylor Green and
- 3:21Speaker 7: Tucker are trying to figure out a path in regards
- 3:23Speaker 7: to twenty twenty eight. I think they're both testing the
- 3:25Speaker 7: grounds of running. But also one of the questions I
- 3:28Speaker 7: have really for you is there are four or five
- 3:32Speaker 7: potential Jewish candidates on the Democrat side that would run
- 3:35Speaker 7: in twenty twenty eight. One of them my dear friend
- 3:37Speaker 7: Josh Shapiro. How does that happen? I mean, they're like,
- 3:40Speaker 7: don't trying the dumbs are trying to go left of
- 3:42Speaker 7: the left of.
- 3:43Speaker 5: The lessons or This has relevant in democratic and primaries
- 3:46Speaker 5: for both parties in twenty twenty eight. When you have
- 3:48Speaker 5: multiple people running more than four or five, you can
- 3:51Speaker 5: win the nomination with thirty percent. Keep in mind, you
- 3:54Speaker 5: just need that thirty percent, and Tucker Carlson knows that.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Just to be clear, I think it's pretty just give
- 3:58Speaker 4: it to what Tucker carlson'spenank lately.
- 4:00Speaker 8: Israel is the foreign country to which he appears to
- 4:02Speaker 8: be referring there, But is he.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Right whatever the driver may be that there are a
- 4:08Speaker 4: lot of other people.
- 4:09Speaker 3: That are out.
- 4:10Speaker 9: I think there's absolutely a problem for the Trump coalition,
- 4:13Speaker 9: and the reasons are real around opposition to another forever war.
- 4:18Speaker 9: And you know, you win elections by addition, not subtraction.
- 4:21Speaker 9: And let's remember the last time you had a major
- 4:23Speaker 9: split in the Republican Party, Bill Clinton won two presidential
- 4:26Speaker 9: elections with less than a majority of the American people.
- 4:28Speaker 9: He won nineteen ninety two with forty three percent and
- 4:31Speaker 9: in nineteen ninety six with forty nine And the reason
- 4:33Speaker 9: was Ross Perot, and it allowed a Democrat to win
- 4:37Speaker 9: with less than a majority. And for a party my
- 4:39Speaker 9: own that is struggling building a majority coalition, having that
- 4:43Speaker 9: serious as split in the Republican one is a real opportunity.
- 4:46Speaker 9: It doesn't excuse us from redesigning and rebuilding the party
- 4:49Speaker 9: into something more majoritarian. But I'll tell you what it's
- 4:52Speaker 9: a problem.
- 4:52Speaker 10: If you're a Republican I would argue that Tucker Carlson
- 4:55Speaker 10: already did not belong to the Republican Party because he
- 4:58Speaker 10: belongs to MAGA, and there in and of itself, you
- 5:02Speaker 10: have the fracturing within the Republican Party. But I would
- 5:05Speaker 10: also argue that there's a fracturing within the Democratic Party.
- 5:08Speaker 10: I mean, you have the far left, the AOC people
- 5:10Speaker 10: on this side, you have the more moderates what we
- 5:13Speaker 10: really need. And Tucker Carlson won't be joining this in
- 5:15Speaker 10: neither Marjorie Taylor Green, who also says she's leaving the
- 5:18Speaker 10: Republican Party, are independents. I mean, the majority of Americans
- 5:22Speaker 10: are somewhere in the middle, and I would beg politicians
- 5:26Speaker 10: to try and find common ground somewhere in the middle
- 5:29Speaker 10: and stop all this fracturing.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Tuckerralson says he will not support republic as it seems
- 5:33Speaker 3: to be largely over issues surrounding Israel.
- 5:35Speaker 11: My question to you is do you regret or welcome
- 5:39Speaker 11: this move from Tucker Carlson.
- 5:42Speaker 8: Well, my party to be the party of the majority,
- 5:45Speaker 8: wants people to view us in a more positive way
- 5:48Speaker 8: against our opponents, and those opponents have entirely different views
- 5:52Speaker 8: and ideas. So I think that what Tucker didn't say,
- 5:56Speaker 8: and I have not talked to him, are you going
- 5:58Speaker 8: to vote? Because when you have to place your vote,
- 6:03Speaker 8: it somewhat changes your mind on who you're then going
- 6:06Speaker 8: to vote for, and you can reassess that. But no,
- 6:10Speaker 8: I don't want to redo anything with Tucker. What I
- 6:13Speaker 8: want to say is is he's in told his opinion.
- 6:16Speaker 8: It's been a stormy romance, no doubt about that. But
- 6:21Speaker 8: there are people who find time to express opinions. When
- 6:26Speaker 8: it comes down to the battle, it will be a
- 6:28Speaker 8: battle for which direction we go. The American people know
- 6:32Speaker 8: one party is headed one way and the other party
- 6:35Speaker 8: is headed another way. And I'm proud to be in
- 6:38Speaker 8: a Republican Just very quickly, it's not all Democrats when
- 6:41Speaker 8: it comes to the issues surrounding Israel, either, is it.
- 6:44Speaker 11: I mean, Tucker Carlson, a very very public critic of Israel,
- 6:50Speaker 11: said this just over the last twenty four hours about
- 6:52Speaker 11: his support of the Republican Party.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Listen, how could I or any American voters support a
- 6:57Speaker 3: political party that's not loyal to the United States? That's
- 7:00Speaker 3: what's the interests of a foreign country above those of
- 7:02Speaker 3: its own citizens? Like that's you know, it's not possible
- 7:06Speaker 3: to vote for people like that. So no, I'm out,
- 7:08Speaker 3: And if I'm out, then I think a lot of
- 7:11Speaker 3: other people are out.
- 7:13Speaker 11: But that foreign country he is talking about is Israel,
- 7:15Speaker 11: making no mistake about it. Go ahead, David, Yeah, John,
- 7:19Speaker 11: you and I. This may not be terribly surprising to
- 7:21Speaker 11: us who have watched sort of Tucker Carlson's evolution here,
- 7:24Speaker 11: but just think about if you and I were having
- 7:26Speaker 11: this conversation. I don't know a few years ago that
- 7:29Speaker 11: Tucker Carlson just totally disowns any association with the Republican Party.
- 7:33Speaker 11: He's been a front man for the Republican Party for
- 7:36Speaker 11: thirty five years, I think he said, and this is
- 7:40Speaker 11: this is a dramatic development. So you are right. We
- 7:42Speaker 11: are seeing this notion of Israel as a litmus test
- 7:47Speaker 11: in both parties and whether or not members of the
- 7:51Speaker 11: parties are seen as too supportive, and that invites in
- 7:54Speaker 11: sort of an insurgency and support from a wing in
- 7:57Speaker 11: the party that is dedicated to opposite to Israel. That
- 8:02Speaker 11: is creating a real divide within each of these parties
- 8:04Speaker 11: I think we see in the polling. This is a bigger,
- 8:08Speaker 11: more pronounced problem right now on the Democratic side than
- 8:11Speaker 11: it is on the Republican side. But it is there too,
- 8:13Speaker 11: no doubt, all right,
