- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Podcast previously in the City of Bones.
- 0:33Speaker 4: What you see here is initially very off putting until
- 0:38Speaker 4: you realize that you've heard of these guys before. The
- 0:41Speaker 4: Mayor's chairs at the head of the table and is empty.
- 0:44Speaker 2: He's not here.
- 0:45Speaker 4: The men sitting around the table are the city Council.
- 0:49Speaker 4: They all wear fedoras, and each one hangs a mesh
- 0:54Speaker 4: veil that covers their faces. The city Council hides their
- 0:59Speaker 4: identity from the people to avoid a chasing of fame
- 1:02Speaker 4: or money. Bribing or blackmail is easier if you know
- 1:05Speaker 4: who the person is. At some point, Maria comes up
- 1:08Speaker 4: to you and gives you a letter from Ellington that
- 1:12Speaker 4: came through the tubes because he said he would send
- 1:14Speaker 4: over the names of the city council. Benjamin Shabroth, CEO
- 1:20Speaker 4: of Shabroth Farms, Gary Stephenson, CEO of Stephenson Oil, cousin
- 1:26Speaker 4: to our dear Mayor, George Olson, CEO of Clank Industries,
- 1:31Speaker 4: Mitchell Nichols, Silent Pope of the Catholic Church, Stephen Star,
- 1:37Speaker 4: owner and head anchor of New Babel News, and Manny
- 1:41Speaker 4: Ellington CEO of Ellington Electric.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Well, we found my sister, Swift shot. She's gone dead.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Dispard oh, disappeard.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Okay, I hope she's okay. She's probably so scared.
- 1:54Speaker 4: She seemed terrified, and this will be my act of
- 1:59Speaker 4: finding her.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And I will have to bid you.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Hey, hey, will, well, don't do this again. Don't do
- 2:04Speaker 1: this again.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I have to go find her. She's out there alone. Yeah,
- 2:07Speaker 2: but we yeah, we're going to help you.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Didn't you used to be a part of a team.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Didn't you do this with people before?
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yes, well, my team is right.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Here, right here, now. Your team is right here now.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Very well.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Plus I could probably really help with this. I can
- 2:22Speaker 5: find people pretty easily.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Fine, fine, I will stay.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Thank you. I give him a little side hug real quick.
- 2:28Speaker 4: During the night of the next day, there is the
- 2:32Speaker 4: family meeting. You've heard about, Quanta, you know. It starts
- 2:35Speaker 4: in the evening and it is in the station. You
- 2:39Speaker 4: didn't really get an address, you just got the word.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Cargo hold store.
- 3:08Speaker 4: You walk up the ramp into the hold of the
- 3:14Speaker 4: space barge. It's a sweeping steel valley in front of you,
- 3:20Speaker 4: curving up into the rest of the behemoth of a
- 3:24Speaker 4: ship and before you lays the cargo hold built to
- 3:29Speaker 4: carry food for millions and now used to entertain the
- 3:36Speaker 4: millions for you, is a fast maze of.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Small shops.
- 3:44Speaker 4: People putting up carnival like thrift store like uh not
- 3:50Speaker 4: thrift store, more like flea market. Carnival like flea market
- 3:54Speaker 4: like booths to sell their whar's legal and illegal?
- 3:59Speaker 6: You might it's a bizarrege because it's a barge.
- 4:05Speaker 4: There's a section with a flashing light sign that says
- 4:10Speaker 4: bizarre where all the stuff you can buy is.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Then there's candles.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Sorry sorry, focus, there's sections, there's sections of drink and
- 4:25Speaker 4: food and dance. There's the bizarre. There's the main attraction.
- 4:32Speaker 4: In the middle of it all is the fight pit.
- 4:35Speaker 4: In the very lowest part of this basin. It is
- 4:40Speaker 4: now an electric cage in which are fighting two guys
- 4:47Speaker 4: with little jet packs on. They both have little laser
- 4:50Speaker 4: pistols and swords, as well as your old foe and
- 4:55Speaker 4: the first enemy you fought together rough a rhino from
- 5:01Speaker 4: the waist down and from the waist.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Up a man rhino in the party in the front.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but the waist down for saying that for rhinos.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Right, Sorry? Rhino in the rhino in the bottom.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Party. Where's the party?
- 5:15Speaker 1: I think parties the rhino.
- 5:17Speaker 2: The party is the rhino. Yeah, a party rider. Yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 2: so it's it's a man.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Man in the front, party in the back.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Okay, it's a rhino. Where the neck of the rhino
- 5:29Speaker 4: should shootout is instead the torso of a man. Out
- 5:33Speaker 4: of the head of this man comes the rhino horn,
- 5:36Speaker 4: which is still present before.
- 5:38Speaker 1: He was a party too though.
- 5:40Speaker 6: Party in the top, man in the middle, party in
- 5:42Speaker 6: the Yes.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a party sandwich.
- 5:45Speaker 4: It's a party, party sandwich. He he is a little
- 5:51Speaker 4: dressed up. It's very thor three Ragnarok where it's like
- 5:54Speaker 4: he has a little fighters vest he has before he
- 5:59Speaker 4: just had a piece of rebar with concrete on the
- 6:02Speaker 4: end as like a club. Now he has a rhino
- 6:06Speaker 4: horn hammer where the rhino horn is on his head,
- 6:09Speaker 4: but he also has a big old hammer with the
- 6:13Speaker 4: with the hook horn coming back off of it. Both
- 6:17Speaker 4: still pulsing with this weird ren red energy that he
- 6:20Speaker 4: somehow has access to. Good for rough, you know, that's nice.
- 6:29Speaker 4: He's shouting at the two zipping around. What a piece
- 6:33Speaker 4: of work is a man? How noble in reason, how
- 6:37Speaker 4: infinite and faculty.
- 6:39Speaker 2: How annoyingly airborne.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Not exactly Shakespeare, but he has learned a little bit
- 6:45Speaker 4: in his time away from Shakespeare.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Yeah, there's that one Shakespeare where they're airborne.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Is it the circus lay Shakespeare?
- 7:02Speaker 4: As he paused at one of the guys zipping over
- 7:05Speaker 4: his head, he says, I am not hurt. A plague
- 7:07Speaker 4: on both your jet packs, and now you know for
- 7:11Speaker 4: sure that's not Shakespeare anymore. I'm still not committing.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I would like to see Romeo and Juliet.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I haven't read the whole catalog. If I'm so, that
- 7:24Speaker 2: guy didn't stay and maybe he never got to prison.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I guess doesn't look that way.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Want funnel cake? No, I mean this guy was trying
- 7:39Speaker 2: to kill human beings last week saw him, and.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Now he's a productive member of society. You think the
- 7:46Speaker 6: fight pit in the fight pit in the barge.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Have either of you been here before.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Not to this part.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I think it's up to you, Jamir, if you've been
- 7:58Speaker 4: here or not. This is certainly something shoot pair. It's
- 8:00Speaker 4: a little bit of a boogeyman like you don't want
- 8:02Speaker 4: to end up being a cargo hold person.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I've been baby to other parts of
- 8:09Speaker 2: the bars, but I don't think i've ever been here.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Sure, and the reason you came above you there have
- 8:16Speaker 4: been built little glass boxes so people can look down
- 8:21Speaker 4: the high The high rollers can look down on the events.
- 8:25Speaker 4: The movers and shakers and the fixers and the flaunts
- 8:29Speaker 4: can sit in these glass boxes that hang to the
- 8:33Speaker 4: ceiling and they can look down at the events in
- 8:37Speaker 4: the center one right above the fight you see gathering.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Cordula Soma is there first. She is joined by Sophia
- 8:46Speaker 4: el Dante and together, just the two of them for
- 8:49Speaker 4: now sit and wave down at the people a little
- 8:52Speaker 4: bit as they watch the fight.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Okay, I do grab like a funnel cake and start
- 9:01Speaker 1: sharing it. Well, we kind of circle up. So how
- 9:04Speaker 1: do we want dollars? Oh? Yeah, dollars.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I just print out three dollars of my hand, comes
- 9:11Speaker 6: right out of my sleeve.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Anybody else, anybody else, three dollars. We got friend fries,
- 9:14Speaker 2: We got funnel cakes. We got apples that stick in
- 9:17Speaker 2: your eyes.
- 9:18Speaker 6: What wait, I'm curious about it. Give me an apple.
- 9:21Speaker 6: It sticks in my eye? He gives you.
- 9:24Speaker 4: It's kind of like a que tip on the end
- 9:27Speaker 4: is a red lollipop size, like smaller lollipop sized foam.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Here you go, that'll be seventeen dollars. Print print, print,
- 9:36Speaker 2: print print, There you go, have that. I'll put this
- 9:39Speaker 2: in my mouth.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I think it goes in your ear.
- 9:46Speaker 2: It tastes horrible chemical. Okay, thank you? What another one
- 9:54Speaker 2: for your eyes? Thirty dollars this time, thirty dollars.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Hey, where did the price go off?
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he put in his mouth. He's an idiot.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Thirty dollars this time, thirty thirty dollars for the infamiliar.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Your booth sells funnel cake and I medicine. It's not medicine,
- 10:09Speaker 2: dear boy. Some people call it medicine.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Why don't you call it the apple of your eye?
- 10:13Speaker 2: That's what some people call it. What did I call it?
- 10:16Speaker 1: Apple that goes near?
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's a saying for the drug that people. Oh, it's drugs.
- 10:23Speaker 2: You just you just ate some drugs.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Brother, how's since Jason else you doing? From putting in
- 10:32Speaker 1: my mouth drugs?
- 10:34Speaker 4: Your mouth feels very itchy and weird. You just notice
- 10:38Speaker 4: those like feeling sensors going off.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Oh you look uncomfortable, no more than usual. Funnel cake.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Anyways, as I was saying I kind of guide the
- 10:48Speaker 1: guys away from the yelling apples, but you need.
- 10:50Speaker 2: To watch you. Guys need to watch it, watch.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It if you said candles. But how do we want
- 10:56Speaker 1: to play this? I mean, I could try to see
- 10:58Speaker 1: if there's anything in there. I could like connect our
- 11:01Speaker 1: ear pieces to if there's a microphone in there. I
- 11:04Speaker 1: doubt they would have one because they're probably being safe,
- 11:07Speaker 1: but we could try that phantom. You could sneak in.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I mean, I look around to see if anyone has
- 11:15Speaker 1: recognized us, or is listening, or like any sense of
- 11:19Speaker 1: like people's brains going off, like, oh I recognize.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Them, make a sense check.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Gotta remember my scans A D six now nice nine.
- 11:31Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like anybody's watching you, following you.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Well, I suppose we could always see what the security
- 11:37Speaker 6: situation is. And if all those fails, I think there's
- 11:41Speaker 6: lots of opportunities to create one of my favorite things,
- 11:44Speaker 6: a distraction.
- 11:46Speaker 1: That's true.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and you also could be very sninky paper style,
- 11:53Speaker 2: paper style.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Maybe there's paper in there. You could just go listen
- 11:57Speaker 1: and we could hear everything through the ocean communicators.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Yeah, we can give it a try. I mean, I
- 12:03Speaker 6: can try and try right now, unless there's anything else
- 12:05Speaker 6: you guys want to do. I mean, I mean just
- 12:08Speaker 6: that some seems a shame not to get candles while
- 12:10Speaker 6: we're here.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It does.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Let's focus on the mission first. Maybe we'll have.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Time at the edge tear my eyes away from a
- 12:18Speaker 1: candle longer.
- 12:19Speaker 4: There's a guy in you know, like a really long
- 12:22Speaker 4: trench coat. His back is so hunched, his nose is
- 12:26Speaker 4: so long. He has like a like a basic it's
- 12:30Speaker 4: a giant gumbo pot, but he's stirring over it and wax.
- 12:35Speaker 4: It's like wax. And you see the little the little
- 12:40Speaker 4: candles on his table or like mushrooms. They're so cute
- 12:46Speaker 4: on my droom candle.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Not not now, temptress, Oh why not, you guys, you
- 12:55Speaker 1: gotta have to take me away. You're gonna have to
- 12:57Speaker 1: pull me away.
- 12:58Speaker 4: He opens his uhs his trench code, and you just
- 13:02Speaker 4: see he's got nothing in there, no shirt on, just
- 13:05Speaker 4: like a really skinny, scrownny guy, all hunched over.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Were there supposed to be camps?
- 13:12Speaker 2: I don't know, you want try and get you not
- 13:15Speaker 2: to go away?
- 13:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well that that certainly held my attention.
- 13:19Speaker 2: My streams lit quato. Yeah, is there anything else?
- 13:30Speaker 6: So we've we've noticed the fight pit and the stalls,
- 13:33Speaker 6: and we know that there's the crime meeting happening above us.
- 13:37Speaker 6: Anything else, anything else of note that we that would
- 13:41Speaker 6: potentially catch our eye draw our attention, seems interesting to
- 13:44Speaker 6: check you out.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I mean, this is a huge space and there's so
- 13:47Speaker 2: much going on.
- 13:48Speaker 4: It's so it's buzzing, it's vivid, it's colorful, it's crazy,
- 13:54Speaker 4: so much noise.
- 13:55Speaker 6: What are you looking for? I guess mostly like how
- 14:00Speaker 6: how to get to upstairs?
- 14:02Speaker 2: What is there?
- 14:03Speaker 7: Like?
- 14:03Speaker 2: Security?
- 14:04Speaker 6: Are there stairs up? There are people kind of elevator. Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 6: is there a guy saying security?
- 14:10Speaker 4: What?
- 14:11Speaker 6: Other people are just flashing their bodies?
- 14:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Yeah, there you do see there are exits out of here,
- 14:22Speaker 4: certainly to the next level, big stairwells that disappear into
- 14:26Speaker 4: the walls. Guarding each of them is one of the
- 14:30Speaker 4: core gang members with a with a gun. One of
- 14:35Speaker 4: them is one of them is screaming.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Security security over here. Oh, that guy's selling security.
- 14:43Speaker 4: I'll take security like a hot dog guy security hot security.
- 14:49Speaker 4: There's also like an insurance guy security.
- 14:54Speaker 6: Get your home and auto insurance bundles it. Hey, where
- 14:58Speaker 6: do you guys want to go? You want to try
- 14:59Speaker 6: and we can. We can creep around upstairs. We can try.
- 15:03Speaker 6: And I'm not trying as joy I'm not the best creeper.
- 15:06Speaker 6: But getting into that meeting, I think is paramount. I
- 15:10Speaker 6: might try to keep an eye on whatever shady business
- 15:14Speaker 6: is going on by that fight pit. All right, well
- 15:17Speaker 6: I can try and listen in let me, let me
- 15:19Speaker 6: see what I can do. I'm just gonna put my
- 15:22Speaker 6: hand just like covered in a paper glove up to
- 15:25Speaker 6: my ear to try and sync my ear into paper
- 15:27Speaker 6: in the room.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Wha, try to sense the paper in the room.
- 15:31Speaker 6: Yeah, well, see if I can sense the paper of
- 15:33Speaker 6: the room and like protrude, just my ear out of
- 15:36Speaker 6: any paper, like, just put my ear through the paper dimension. WHOA, great,
- 15:42Speaker 6: just so that you can hear it and my earpiece
- 15:44Speaker 6: is in my ear right. I think sending your ear
- 15:48Speaker 6: piece through paper and getting all those signals to track,
- 15:52Speaker 6: is that feels really hard?
- 15:54Speaker 4: Okay? Yeah, I think there con helps situation.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Yeah, send in your piece through the paper dimension with
- 16:04Speaker 6: all the electric stuff intact?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Ye sense to me?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yes, you know, spread the atoms like.
- 16:08Speaker 6: It did before. Spread the atoms yeah, Uh taught the
- 16:13Speaker 6: fibers of the paper. Yeah, naturally, absolutely.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Cover us.
- 16:23Speaker 2: We're Polish, Yeah, cover us. We're pulling it over with
- 16:29Speaker 2: We just try to try to stand up a little taller.
- 16:31Speaker 4: I'll give you a sneak check here, sneak plus your
- 16:34Speaker 4: paper manipulation. Quanta, you can help, Uh, Quanta, I would say,
- 16:40Speaker 4: what you're helping to do is allow the signals from
- 16:43Speaker 4: Jason's ear piece to still get through, also probably amplifying
- 16:47Speaker 4: the sound a little bit in the room because they're
- 16:50Speaker 4: supposed to be direct right to y'all's mouths.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So there's a lot going on here.
- 16:55Speaker 4: This is a godly check for this to work, which
- 16:59Speaker 4: means do you twenty plus a D four. It'll also
- 17:02Speaker 4: cost both of you an energy okay, okay.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And I'm just adding I'm just adding control, litricity.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Just the power die. Yeah, I'm rolling a D twenty
- 17:11Speaker 2: plus a D four, And as is my way, I
- 17:17Speaker 2: rolled ass, I rolled on eleven.
- 17:20Speaker 6: I also rolled an eleven, so quantus help would mean.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I got a four.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Cordula and Sophia are the only ones there. Now as
- 17:37Speaker 4: you look up, you start to see someone else start
- 17:39Speaker 4: to enter the room through like the trapdoor in the
- 17:42Speaker 4: ceiling of the room. Cordula is sitting legs crossed and
- 17:46Speaker 4: has like a stack of paper in her hands. She
- 17:48Speaker 4: throws them on the table as the meeting is about
- 17:51Speaker 4: to get going.
- 17:52Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, so I'm like the lowest piece of paper
- 17:56Speaker 6: in the stack. Just a drawing of an ear with
- 17:59Speaker 6: a a transponder earpiece like appears and protrudes ever so
- 18:04Speaker 6: slightly through as I like press my hand to the
- 18:06Speaker 6: side of my head, my ear travels through the paper
- 18:09Speaker 6: and into the office with the earpiece, and all the
- 18:13Speaker 6: electrons are lined up.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Good.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yes, I just am like standing next to Jason and
- 18:18Speaker 1: Jimmy are kind of staring into space.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm trying to block She's not obviously spaced.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Out if somebody just glanced him. I think I'm trying
- 18:28Speaker 1: to just hold in a fart.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the two of you, Jason and Quanta
- 18:33Speaker 4: will need to maintain this while you're in the room,
- 18:37Speaker 4: so you're probably not getting it up to anything down
- 18:41Speaker 4: here happened?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well, well they're kind of zoned out. Jimmir will
- 18:45Speaker 2: like act like I'm like launching into a long story. Perfect.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I will keep licking the drugs. Everyone, you got a
- 18:57Speaker 2: quick it man. You ever hear what happened to my
- 19:01Speaker 2: friend's uncle. He started eating eye apples and it did
- 19:06Speaker 2: not end well. His first symptom turmmy cramps. Oh, I've
- 19:13Speaker 2: got the tummy cramps.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Focus focused, Oh sorry, yeah, Jami drones on and on
- 19:21Speaker 4: as Jason's paper. Here, here's the events in this room,
- 19:28Speaker 4: and Quanta amplifies the sound to both of you.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Coming down the little ladder.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Here is an old, old Japanese man, so old, wrinkled skin,
- 19:50Speaker 4: gray hair. I think I know that Arthur is from
- 19:58Speaker 4: inside the book.
- 19:59Speaker 6: I all the old people, all old people know each other.
- 20:04Speaker 4: With him comes someone you recognize, Quanta. Yetto Endo you've
- 20:10Speaker 4: met before, who used to be on the church council.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Following those two is someone that Jimmy recognizes, Darius.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I can still see this from my advantage.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Yes you can't see it. It's far away. But I
- 20:24Speaker 4: think he's a he's a what's the word imposing stress? Yes,
- 20:29Speaker 4: he's an imposing enough figure that you remember him from
- 20:33Speaker 4: seeing him in Koso. You did not know that he
- 20:36Speaker 4: was the leader of the West Coast Gang in Koso.
- 20:40Speaker 4: The plot, everyone sits there's an empty chair. Shay has
- 20:47Speaker 4: not come to this meeting. Sophia starts talking, It has
- 21:06Speaker 4: been long time since we meet like this. It is
- 21:10Speaker 4: because there have been long peace or do we have
- 21:14Speaker 4: lingering hostilities spoiling underneath? And oh, excuse me, I should
- 21:20Speaker 4: say the old Japanese man.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Who is that guy?
- 21:25Speaker 4: Different guy, wrong guy? His name is Hasegawa.
- 21:29Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, I know that guy.
- 21:31Speaker 4: He is the Oyu Boon of the Japanese mob. He
- 21:35Speaker 4: says something in Japanese. He doesn't speak in English, so
- 21:40Speaker 4: he will always be translated through Yutoh, which is the
- 21:42Speaker 4: only reason there's allowed to be a second here. Everyone
- 21:46Speaker 4: waits patiently for Hasegawa to finish, and yetto says peace
- 21:52Speaker 4: was broken when my son's head was taken. Perhaps in
- 21:56Speaker 4: the southeast. Your heads have slept peacefully on your but
- 22:01Speaker 4: our eyes are sleepless and dry, our tears are gone,
- 22:05Speaker 4: and our hearts are heavy. Darius says, sorry for your
- 22:08Speaker 4: lost brother, but we all lost people.
- 22:11Speaker 2: The flog attacked us.
- 22:12Speaker 6: All.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Well, that's what this meeting is about, right. We here
- 22:16Speaker 4: to discuss punishment of flog and gaining order back in
- 22:19Speaker 4: citys Cordula.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Commanding the room.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Brushes her hand past one of her papers, right over
- 22:27Speaker 4: your ear, Jason, you feel it. Actually, that's not what
- 22:30Speaker 4: I've called this meeting, but it can be discussed.
- 22:35Speaker 2: They moved on all of us.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Young Shay is out of control and needs to be
- 22:40Speaker 4: taught how things work. But I called us here to
- 22:43Speaker 4: let you know that I can no longer partake in
- 22:45Speaker 4: criminal activity. I can no longer be associated with you.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Darius says, I thought your bit for Mayo was to
- 22:53Speaker 4: make life a little easier for us.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Well, it is, But how you make work if you
- 22:58Speaker 2: no longer work with us? Huh?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Thought maybe you could keep Alice out of our work
- 23:03Speaker 4: a little bit here or there. Cordula says, I hope
- 23:07Speaker 4: to remove the need for police. She's turning authoritarian. Can't
- 23:11Speaker 4: be seen with us because we ain't in a high society.
- 23:14Speaker 4: She'll need those votes in Kono. I get a core.
- 23:17Speaker 4: You got to do you protect your people? Well, who's
- 23:20Speaker 4: going to run the shoot?
- 23:21Speaker 2: Though?
- 23:22Speaker 4: Please listen, let me explain. I have a lot to
- 23:25Speaker 4: change about this city. But my goal with crime is
- 23:28Speaker 4: to clean up and legalize the things that the city
- 23:31Speaker 4: still deems illegal. Prostitution, certain drug distribution, alcoholic, a few gambling.
- 23:37Speaker 4: It's all ridiculous. So many lives have been lost due
- 23:39Speaker 4: to these foolish illegalities, or people are in prison. Your people,
- 23:43Speaker 4: my people, Darius says, I know that's right. What if
- 23:46Speaker 4: your role in this city wasn't a criminal one but
- 23:50Speaker 4: an economic philanthropic one.
- 23:52Speaker 2: We could do it right.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Keep it all away from our children, stop the abuse,
- 23:57Speaker 4: keep tabs on addiction. What's so has done illegally with
- 24:01Speaker 4: prostitution in this city? I could make all of that
- 24:04Speaker 4: and other things like that above board and not to mention,
- 24:08Speaker 4: funded properly.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Darius says, your dreaming, sister, you're dreaming. I'm not so
- 24:14Speaker 2: sure you let me take control of prostitution in Sydney
- 24:18Speaker 2: with more funding and support of Mayor's office. Maybe at work, okay,
- 24:23Speaker 2: But what if you don't win? Is that why you're here?
- 24:27Speaker 2: We rigging this thing? Cordula says, no, no, no, I
- 24:30Speaker 2: won't win that way.
- 24:31Speaker 4: I won't. I am asking for your support. Though you
- 24:34Speaker 4: have a lot of pull with the voters in each
- 24:37Speaker 4: of your districts. Tell them you support me. Not publicly,
- 24:40Speaker 4: of course, I don't need more ties to the criminal underworld,
- 24:43Speaker 4: but spread the word. Get your people out to vote
- 24:46Speaker 4: for an election and then vote for me.
- 24:50Speaker 2: There's a moment of silence. Cordula glances over to Hasegawa.
- 24:56Speaker 2: You've been quiet, father, Do you have thoughts? And speaks
- 25:01Speaker 2: after Hasagawa is finished? You speak as though you are
- 25:05Speaker 2: father of this family. It is I who have kept
- 25:07Speaker 2: the mayor's office blind or content with your criminal activities.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I keep him appeased and happy, slothful and fat. This
- 25:17Speaker 2: understanding has taken decades to build. It would take a
- 25:21Speaker 2: lot of convincing for me to kill that deal. You
- 25:24Speaker 2: also haven't mentioned the taking of life. At times.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Our traditions call for a life that will not go away.
- 25:32Speaker 4: And what if the Irish they must be punished. Cordula says,
- 25:35Speaker 4: the taking of life will remain illegal, of course, but
- 25:40Speaker 4: in the time of transition there may be certain things
- 25:43Speaker 4: I could turn a blind eye to, but temporarily.
- 25:47Speaker 2: And yeah, the Irish need to be choked out. Sophia says, right,
- 25:52Speaker 2: so no deal with them. Don't buy, don't sell, don't supply.
- 25:56Speaker 2: We can even block the dry docks. In fact, we
- 25:59Speaker 2: could work to have deliveries sent to sas instead to me.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Oh, that really would make them mad. They continue like
- 26:07Speaker 4: this for a while, talking about the city, talking about crime,
- 26:13Speaker 4: crime and what Cordula's bid for mayor might do, and
- 26:19Speaker 4: then Jason through the paper that is your ear. You
- 26:24Speaker 4: feel an energy in the room and coming out of invisibility.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Whoa is Mayor Adrian Stephenson and a large day woman.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Swift shot. Guys, what's going on?
- 26:56Speaker 1: I think we got to get in there in costumer Yeah, no, no, no,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I think it's some of suit up boys.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Swift shot looks different. She has a quiver on her back.
- 27:11Speaker 4: From the quiver are ribbons that cover the intimate parts
- 27:16Speaker 4: of the rest of her naked body.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Healthful for our imagination. She wears thigh high boots. Nice
- 27:27Speaker 2: and that's just about it.
- 27:29Speaker 1: She looks awesome.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody said haircut.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Somebody said they wanted sexy villains.
- 27:34Speaker 6: It was sorry something A batter seems different, but I
- 27:37Speaker 6: can't quite put my finger. She's so damned sexual glasses normally,
- 27:43Speaker 6: what is it?
- 27:45Speaker 4: Cordula is the most affronted. The Mayor's not supposed to
- 27:50Speaker 4: be in the shoot. She starts, ha, how are you here?
- 27:54Speaker 4: You're not supposed to be here.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I've I've electrically suited myself, unrolled it from under my pants,
- 28:03Speaker 1: and I start, I think, moving through the crowd, getting closer.
- 28:09Speaker 2: He's looking for a bathroom.
- 28:12Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll just keep my ear to the paper.
- 28:14Speaker 4: With your ear to the paper, you hear the mayor speak.
- 28:18Speaker 4: The mayor looks sharply dressed. He is large, short though
- 28:27Speaker 4: stocky but round. He wears a bolo tie, so I
- 28:31Speaker 4: feel like he's that kind of guy.
- 28:33Speaker 6: Mm hm, cool thigh high boots and nothing else.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Cordula says, you're not supposed to be here. Troubled.
- 28:46Speaker 4: He lifts his thumb and he does that thing where
- 28:49Speaker 4: he brushes it against the chin of the weird thing
- 28:54Speaker 4: guys do, where he brushes it against the chin.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Of swift Shot.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Has push the crowd as he walks around the table
- 29:05Speaker 4: and eyes down everyone. Though he is shorter than most,
- 29:10Speaker 4: his presence is palpable. Let it serve as a reminder
- 29:16Speaker 4: of who's in charge here as he brushes his thumb
- 29:21Speaker 4: against swift SHOT's chin. This cute pony show running for mayor.
- 29:32Speaker 4: You know as well as I do, it won't go through. Well,
- 29:36Speaker 4: let's say that it does. Let's say that I lose
- 29:40Speaker 4: my seat. You think anything's gonna change. You think your
- 29:48Speaker 4: mayor is gonna sit in his throne and let the
- 29:52Speaker 4: filth lap up pass the moat into his throne room.
- 29:58Speaker 4: You're a pathetic bunch of criminals. No matter what happens
- 30:03Speaker 4: in the next two weeks, you still pay up to me.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Maybe I won't be Mayor of the people anymore, but
- 30:14Speaker 4: I'm still your mayor. Stephenson, you got it, Cordula speaks up.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Why keep the people in the dark, Why keep them
- 30:25Speaker 4: clawing and oppressed?
- 30:29Speaker 6: You can't have.
- 30:29Speaker 2: It both ways, Cordula.
- 30:33Speaker 4: If others have a piece of everything, then you can't
- 30:37Speaker 4: have everything. Get that through your little head and bow
- 30:42Speaker 4: out of this race. If you don't, there will be consequences.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And I'm here, ain't I shoots not off limits to
- 30:52Speaker 4: me no more. Just goes to show if there's a
- 30:56Speaker 4: piece I don't have, I'll find a way to get it.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Darius stands up, hand goes to his waist. Swift Shot
- 31:06Speaker 4: pulls an arrow out of nowhere, pulls it back, aim
- 31:09Speaker 4: directly at Darius.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Mayer says, does this need to get uglier? Or you
- 31:14Speaker 2: let me go? How changed is Jamir at this point.
- 31:19Speaker 8: In the bathroom, here we just hear through the airbas
- 31:23Speaker 8: like clothing rustling.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you're changed. What moves you.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Guys make in Yeah, I've made my way now to
- 31:31Speaker 1: the edge of the fighting Their box is like directly
- 31:33Speaker 1: over the center of the fighting pits. Yes, I've made
- 31:36Speaker 1: my way to the edge of the fighting pit, and
- 31:39Speaker 1: I'm preparing to lightning with the bottom of the glass
- 31:44Speaker 1: to shatter it, to just just make them all fall.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Oh uh, what's your range on your lightning whip?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Seven?
- 31:53Speaker 4: Seven l's Oh yeah, geez, insanely long.
- 31:58Speaker 1: It's a long wind.
- 32:00Speaker 6: Is that a long lightning whip? Are you just happy
- 32:02Speaker 6: to see me?
- 32:03Speaker 2: What can't it be? Both?
- 32:06Speaker 4: As you get close to the edge of the fighting pit,
- 32:12Speaker 4: you hear screaming from the pit. We few, we happy few,
- 32:17Speaker 4: we band of brothers. No wait, it's just me. Tumble
- 32:22Speaker 4: is dead and he swings his hammer. These guys, what
- 32:26Speaker 4: are you two doing?
- 32:28Speaker 6: I think Jason is gonna in the in the midst
- 32:32Speaker 6: of the crowd, try and sneakily if possible, like in
- 32:37Speaker 6: you know, between a stall and the wall or something.
- 32:40Speaker 6: Fully just force his head and body. Threw his hand
- 32:44Speaker 6: into the paper all the way up. Whoa ready to
- 32:48Speaker 6: pop out, great sneak.
- 32:51Speaker 1: You can just do it like a snake eating its
- 32:53Speaker 1: own tail. Your head going through your hand.
- 32:55Speaker 6: Yeah, my head going through my hand, and then just
- 32:57Speaker 6: like like a coupon.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Like falls to the ground. I think I will have
- 33:02Speaker 2: you roll a check for this, yes.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That before for one apple.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I wanted all the money I'm printing looks like
- 33:10Speaker 6: regular money, except instead of what did you say the
- 33:14Speaker 6: name of the the person on a new Babel money is?
- 33:17Speaker 2: I totally forgot.
- 33:18Speaker 6: There's a few people there, irregardless, it's a picture of me. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 6: big phantom thumbs up in the portrait.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Why you roll your sneak plus cloak, Jamir? What are
- 33:30Speaker 2: you doing? So? Jamir emerges from the stall changed. I'm
- 33:38Speaker 2: moving quickly. I'm I'm hearing from my friends, probably through
- 33:43Speaker 2: the radio, and then I see up above that like
- 33:46Speaker 2: Cordula is in trouble, and my brain is immediately just
- 33:49Speaker 2: like the mayor is just gonna kill her, so so
- 33:52Speaker 2: he can't be beaten. So Jamir is moving very quickly
- 33:58Speaker 2: up there toward that a tourd there. I don't think
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'm flying yet, but I'm pushing through the crowd quickly,
- 34:07Speaker 2: watching with great interest. How this shit is developing? Sounds good?
- 34:13Speaker 2: Would you roll?
- 34:14Speaker 4: Jason? Eighteen eighteen? Let's go ahead and roll order, all right?
- 34:19Speaker 4: I rolled a flour by the way.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Nice.
- 34:22Speaker 4: So you push yourself into that piece of paper still hidden,
- 34:25Speaker 4: ready to pop out. Yeah, this order will be only
- 34:30Speaker 4: for after if Quanta destroys this. Okay, Yeah, I'm waiting,
- 34:37Speaker 4: we'll get to do that. Okay first, okay, if you
- 34:41Speaker 4: want to do that. So what'd you roll?
- 34:45Speaker 2: Eight? Three six?
- 34:48Speaker 4: The tension in the glassroom is buzzing to the sound
- 34:53Speaker 4: of swift shots Arrow. Darius does not pull out his gun.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Swift shot does not shoot.
- 35:01Speaker 2: You, guys.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I could end this, I could.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I could end this meeting in a way that gets messy.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Could you also see what they're thinking of doing?
- 35:15Speaker 1: I'll try. I'd like to try to sense everyone's state
- 35:20Speaker 1: in there from where I am and who's who's hot? Yeah,
- 35:24Speaker 1: go down without us a happy trigger finger.
- 35:27Speaker 4: This is an epic check. So I'm only a D twenty.
- 35:30Speaker 4: There's a lot of people in there, and it's far away.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I could beat it, and I could beat it. Okay,
- 35:38Speaker 1: Oh no, I can't. That's a five.
- 35:40Speaker 4: You send your sense up there, try and gain the
- 35:43Speaker 4: electricity in the room. You feel the surging power from
- 35:46Speaker 4: all of them, especially swift Shot as she is out
- 35:49Speaker 4: of invisibility and wielding this crazy energy. You can't tell
- 35:54Speaker 4: where heads are at.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. It's too far, there's
- 35:58Speaker 1: too many of them.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It's okay, it's okayn.
- 36:00Speaker 6: Wait, we can wait, we can wait.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Okay, we're ready if they meet us. Yeah, did you
- 36:05Speaker 2: change her? Yeah, I'm here. Nice.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Cordula grabs one of the piece of papers that's right
- 36:12Speaker 4: next to Jason. Grabs one of the pieces of paper
- 36:15Speaker 4: that was a hard thing to say, that's right next
- 36:17Speaker 4: to Jason and makes a fist, crumpling it in her hands.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Jason, Oh, it wasn't It wasn't the one here, my brother.
- 36:25Speaker 6: Okay.
- 36:27Speaker 4: She looks at the mayor stone cold and just says,
- 36:30Speaker 4: you and your new pet need to get out of here,
- 36:33Speaker 4: because you know what happens if you don't. Mayor just says,
- 36:38Speaker 4: you're right, you're right. I'll go, But I just wanted
- 36:42Speaker 4: to tell you, remind you who's in charge in this city.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Both swift Shot and the Mayor disappear as swift Shot
- 36:53Speaker 4: touches his shoulder.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I would like to track them now I've seen both
- 37:01Speaker 1: her energy and yes, see if I can see them
- 37:05Speaker 1: unless I mean, we have established it's by sight. So
- 37:09Speaker 1: does her invisibility cancel out what I can see technically,
- 37:14Speaker 1: because if I like look in a mirror, I don't
- 37:16Speaker 1: see it in myself or anyone reflected in the mirror.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Right.
- 37:21Speaker 4: But but the body is still there, even though it's invisible.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Still the body Adiyadi is still there.
- 37:30Speaker 2: So she left.
- 37:32Speaker 4: No no, she takes and the quiver and the thigh
- 37:36Speaker 4: high boots quiver. The mayor takes his goggles over the body.
- 37:43Speaker 2: The body Idiyadi is still there.
- 37:46Speaker 4: So I think that you still sense the electrical the
- 37:50Speaker 4: electrical signals running through them even though even they can't
- 37:54Speaker 4: see them.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Okay, I would like to try to see them, sense
- 37:58Speaker 1: them electric?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, roll, Yeah, let's roll. They're still very far away.
- 38:03Speaker 4: But you have narrowed down who you're trying to sense
- 38:06Speaker 4: right now, so this is a difficult check them on.
- 38:08Speaker 2: In a D twelve five, I rolled a four.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Who wolf failed on a five, succeeded on a five.
- 38:15Speaker 2: That's team up, baby, we win these.
- 38:19Speaker 4: You sense that they go up the short ladder through
- 38:23Speaker 4: the door that's in the ceiling. They don't open the door.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Somehow they phase through the door.
- 38:28Speaker 1: You do either of you know if swift Shot has
- 38:31Speaker 1: phasing ghosty powers?
- 38:34Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah, Oh man, I gotta talk to Derek.
- 38:38Speaker 2: You sense that they walk down.
- 38:40Speaker 4: The stairs into the cargo hold.
- 38:43Speaker 1: They're here, they're in the hold, and they.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Just start heading out into the station.
- 38:51Speaker 1: But they're just heading out of the hold. Guys, They're
- 38:54Speaker 1: just they're here.
- 38:56Speaker 6: Do we just try to I don't know, I don't know.
- 38:59Speaker 6: I think there might be an opportunity to talk to
- 39:02Speaker 6: the mob.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Ye enemy, my enemy, right, Yeah, yeah, I'm just I'm
- 39:08Speaker 1: just focusing on where they're like weaving through the crowd
- 39:11Speaker 1: and through the bizarre phantom. Didn't you do something with
- 39:15Speaker 1: paper where you could track people?
- 39:18Speaker 2: Yeah, if we can get paper on.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Them, Oh, I don't think I could get that close,
- 39:25Speaker 1: not just as I am.
- 39:26Speaker 2: We could try.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Should we leave? I'm still in the piece of paper
- 39:30Speaker 6: in this meeting. You guys want me to dip out
- 39:31Speaker 6: of here? I also don't think you're talking probably right?
- 39:35Speaker 6: Oh yeah, you just hear crumpling sounds.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we just let them go for now, for Now.
- 39:47Speaker 6: In that case, I'll slowly emerge from the piece of
- 39:50Speaker 6: paper into the room filled with mobsters, full full phantom
- 39:54Speaker 6: gear smoking my I've got the drugs in my mouth
- 39:57Speaker 6: like a cigar. The feather first giant, big Carmen san
- 40:04Speaker 6: Diego had like flops out and unfurls from the piece
- 40:08Speaker 6: of paper on the desk and rising like a ghost,
- 40:11Speaker 6: standing up, and then the collars pop up on the giant,
- 40:17Speaker 6: the giant trench coat like wet wings of a dragonfly unfurling.
- 40:23Speaker 6: I stand on the desk, sucking on eye drugs.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Well, well, well, fancy meeting you.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Here, Darius Jesus Christ freaks out. Sofia, Oh my god,
- 40:37Speaker 4: oh my god, freaking out. They all are are own panicked.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Sofia says, who are you? What you're doing here?
- 40:45Speaker 2: You don't know me.
- 40:46Speaker 6: I'm the paper phantom.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Ah we heard of you met your friend the electric girl.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Oh that's me.
- 40:55Speaker 1: She's talking about me.
- 40:57Speaker 6: Well, then you know that I'm no fan of the
- 41:00Speaker 6: Irish mob And I'll say the mayor ain't on my
- 41:05Speaker 6: best friend's list either. I keep a list of my
- 41:09Speaker 6: best friends.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Cordula says, not a very long list.
- 41:13Speaker 6: Huh hey, I've got two people on my best friend's list.
- 41:19Speaker 6: At that c.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Jamiir is gonna start hovering up.
- 41:26Speaker 4: You hover up over the crowd, Yeah, manny see you Jamir.
- 41:31Speaker 4: As Rigel lifts up, what do you look like in
- 41:34Speaker 4: this moment above this crowd.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Rigel is in like a three point stance, his
- 41:41Speaker 2: three quarter lengths cape dangling below the flight star. As
- 41:46Speaker 2: I were ascending through the crowd, flying up above to
- 41:52Speaker 2: look into this room, my cowl covering my face but
- 41:57Speaker 2: leaving my jaw exposure, which is set. Seriously, I'm still
- 42:03Speaker 2: looking in as I'm going toward my compatriot. I'm still
- 42:08Speaker 2: scanning the crowd, as if I could still track where
- 42:13Speaker 2: the Mayor's gone to.
- 42:15Speaker 6: You come to the glass wall, I gesture behind the mobsters.
- 42:20Speaker 6: That's Rigel best friend number one.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I guess that's me. I electrically magnetize my suit to
- 42:28Speaker 1: the to the window. I just just go like chest first.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Broadcast best friend number two, wiggle my fingers.
- 42:40Speaker 4: I gang's all here, Rigel.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Darius gives you deuces to the screen.
- 42:55Speaker 4: A Riel and Sophia looks at you, Quanta and kind
- 43:00Speaker 4: of waves her hand. Wa We have had many unexpected
- 43:05Speaker 4: visitors tonight, phantom, excuse me, we are weary.
- 43:09Speaker 2: What is all this about?
- 43:11Speaker 4: As the people down far below gawk at this meeting
- 43:16Speaker 4: between heroes and crime lords.
- 43:19Speaker 6: Well, the way I figure it, we've got a common enemy.
- 43:23Speaker 6: I know we've clashed a little bit here and there
- 43:26Speaker 6: in the streets, but we know that the real problem
- 43:29Speaker 6: here needs to be taken care of and we could help.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And the what do you propose, paper Man?
- 43:39Speaker 6: So glad you asked, I take the eye medicine out
- 43:42Speaker 6: of my mouth?
- 43:43Speaker 2: Drugs? Is that? Is that the apple of eye? Yeah?
- 43:46Speaker 6: I like it.
- 43:47Speaker 2: That will not be good in the morning.
- 43:49Speaker 6: Myum is crampy.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Has that hurt your tummy real bad? That not good
- 43:55Speaker 4: for your tummy.
- 43:56Speaker 6: Look, what I'm proposing is me and my friend take
- 44:01Speaker 6: Shay off the board. We find a way to do that.
- 44:06Speaker 6: And I need assurances that another war won't break out
- 44:11Speaker 6: over the power vacuum. We're thinking things through this time.
- 44:16Speaker 6: Hasegawa starts to speak. None of you understand, and knowingly
- 44:22Speaker 6: not until Endo says, we have been hurt the most
- 44:28Speaker 6: by the flog. If someone should take that quadrant of
- 44:32Speaker 6: the city, it should be us. Darius says, Wait, hold on,
- 44:37Speaker 6: hold on, what you mean you just take over the
- 44:40Speaker 6: whole that's a whole fourth of the city. None of
- 44:43Speaker 6: them like that idea. They all kind of up in
- 44:45Speaker 6: arms about that, Sofia, Yeah, no with us too much.
- 44:48Speaker 6: We can't give you all that city.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I like whispering about your piece, Phantom. I thought
- 44:53Speaker 1: I thought our common enemy was the mayor? Now or
- 44:55Speaker 1: why what about why Shay? Because priorities for me, dude,
- 45:00Speaker 1: p purities for the city.
- 45:02Speaker 6: Come on, Oh okay, we can negotiate, all right.
- 45:06Speaker 2: What do you think, the three of you? What do
- 45:08Speaker 2: you think?
- 45:09Speaker 4: Who should that part of the city go to? If not,
- 45:11Speaker 4: the flog crime will happen there.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Cordula says, I do have a bad idea that I'm
- 45:18Speaker 6: open to better ones.
- 45:20Speaker 1: What's your idea of Phantom?
- 45:22Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 45:23Speaker 6: Well, let's just say, hypothetically we knew another familial head
- 45:30Speaker 6: of the Irish mob that could take shapes place.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, okay, let me stop you here, Phantom.
- 45:39Speaker 4: You don't seem one to have been to many crime meetings.
- 45:43Speaker 2: What makes you say that?
- 45:46Speaker 4: I you take the Irish Mob off the map for us.
- 45:51Speaker 2: What do you get in return? Where's this going?
- 45:55Speaker 1: Yeah, phantom, where is this going?
- 45:58Speaker 6: We got a city to save. It's on brother, right, right,
- 46:01Speaker 6: I know, I know, guys, it's cool. Help me out here, right,
- 46:05Speaker 6: we're all on a team. Okay, best friend number two. Sorry,
- 46:12Speaker 6: I didn't mean to rank you. It wasn't like that.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I was going to imagine it.
- 46:18Speaker 6: Well, look, the comings and goings of the mayor are
- 46:20Speaker 6: something that we've had trouble tracking.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Ah, so this is where it is. You want to
- 46:26Speaker 2: be involved in the election.
- 46:28Speaker 6: Oh we're already involved.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Are you interesting?
- 46:32Speaker 1: I point to my I voted stigree.
- 46:35Speaker 4: You voted congratulations. I just told them I do not
- 46:41Speaker 4: want to take this election in an insincere way. However,
- 46:50Speaker 4: the people need to know the truth about their mayor.
- 46:53Speaker 4: If you can help me with that.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Yes, No, that's something we can get on board with.
- 47:02Speaker 4: You can all hear either through the glass or through
- 47:04Speaker 4: your earphone things.
- 47:05Speaker 6: Okay, okay, Look, all I'm saying is we have common goals, right,
- 47:09Speaker 6: so why don't we divide and conquer here. We could
- 47:14Speaker 6: take care of say or we could take care of
- 47:17Speaker 6: the election and whatever we don't take care of. You
- 47:21Speaker 6: guys handle preferably without there being blood in the streets.
- 47:27Speaker 6: So whichever way that is, we could facilitate. Sophia chimes in, well,
- 47:33Speaker 6: if you could let the people know about the evilness
- 47:38Speaker 6: of may or, perhaps we could come to some kind
- 47:41Speaker 6: of deal. We could split sass two ways between me
- 47:47Speaker 6: and Yakuza.
- 47:49Speaker 4: Darius obviously doesn't like that. Cordulla calms everyone down and says,
- 47:54Speaker 4: I'm gonna do what I can to win this thing.
- 47:57Speaker 4: But even if we do you get an election for mayor,
- 48:02Speaker 4: the incumbent mayor will still run and the people need
- 48:06Speaker 4: to know who he really is.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Yep, I think that is something we could get on.
- 48:11Speaker 4: There's a cop. Her name's Elaine. She's in the SaaS district.
- 48:17Speaker 4: She's got a lot on the mayor. I don't know
- 48:20Speaker 4: if she's been too scared or been threatened, but she's
- 48:25Speaker 4: got a lot. If that can go public at the
- 48:27Speaker 4: right time, if you can help her, then maybe maybe
- 48:31Speaker 4: the people would vote for somebody else.
- 48:33Speaker 6: Wells starting to begin the formation of a plan here, Rag.
- 48:39Speaker 6: You guys saw us up through the glass. You guys
- 48:42Speaker 6: take care of the flog, and we get the dirt
- 48:45Speaker 6: on the mayor out to the public. We've got ways
- 48:51Speaker 6: of distributing that information through the air waves through the paper.
- 48:56Speaker 6: Got a big, strong, beefy delivery boy.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Uh.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Cordula nods, and if you are able to do that,
- 49:04Speaker 4: we promise, she looks at her fellow crime lords, that
- 49:11Speaker 4: we won't fight over sas well. We'll that'll be a
- 49:15Speaker 4: whole other meeting, but we'll need to find a way
- 49:17Speaker 4: not to fight over.
- 49:18Speaker 6: Sas sounds like we have ourselves a deal.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Wait, am I saying the wrong district? Ask? Ask? Even
- 49:26Speaker 2: saying sas fuck? Just say it a couple different ways.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Ask, ask, ask, ask, ask, ask, dope, b do I ask?
- 49:39Speaker 4: Shake your ask? If you can do that, we can
- 49:45Speaker 4: promise there won't be a fight over ask. We'll have
- 49:49Speaker 4: to figure it out. It'll be a home other meeting.
- 49:51Speaker 4: But somebody will run ask be maybe my son. They
- 49:57Speaker 4: all erupt again. It's like no bisa.
- 50:02Speaker 6: All right. Well, we'll leave you to figuring that out
- 50:04Speaker 6: and we will handle the mayor.
- 50:10Speaker 2: All right.
- 50:11Speaker 4: As you guys start to go, Cordula does yell so
- 50:15Speaker 4: that both of you can hear it, even in your
- 50:17Speaker 4: even through the glass.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Hey, heroes, thank you, and you head off. I'll leave
- 50:26Speaker 2: before we go.
- 50:26Speaker 6: Can I just leave like a blank piece of paper
- 50:30Speaker 6: that just says paper, Phantom on it and like give
- 50:33Speaker 6: it to her, like if you need anything else?
- 50:36Speaker 2: What what do I? What would I do with this?
- 50:39Speaker 2: Let's call? Is there a number on it?
- 50:42Speaker 1: No?
- 50:44Speaker 2: How do I I'll know?
- 50:46Speaker 3: Right?
- 50:47Speaker 2: Do I throw it in the air? Do I just right?
- 50:51Speaker 2: What you need on there?
- 50:52Speaker 6: Oh?
- 50:52Speaker 2: Okay, got it?
- 50:55Speaker 6: I sink back in the paper.
- 50:57Speaker 1: I turn around on the glass to my feet in.
- 50:59Speaker 1: My palms are on it, and like in like a
- 51:02Speaker 1: spider man, crouch and push off into the crowd.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Any guys head out, anything else you want to get
- 51:09Speaker 4: done here in the cargo hold before you move on?
- 51:12Speaker 1: I think I've made We've made too much of a splash. Yeah,
- 51:16Speaker 1: big splash, big old splash.
- 51:19Speaker 6: Try to fly on out of here. Yeah, I'll grab
- 51:22Speaker 6: a candle, mushroom.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Tangle, strike strike away as soon as we can. Uh,
- 51:31Speaker 1: I don't know, like while we're traveling or if we
- 51:33Speaker 1: get back home. Phantom, What what was that?
- 51:38Speaker 6: What do you mean is wheeling delon?
- 51:42Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:42Speaker 1: You're you're asking crime lords to take care of another
- 51:45Speaker 1: crime family for you.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Not cool man, Not cool?
- 51:50Speaker 5: What do you mean?
- 51:51Speaker 2: Not cool?
- 51:52Speaker 6: That we resolved that entire situation without cutting anyone's dick?
- 51:58Speaker 6: I would say this is progress. I just this is Look,
- 52:03Speaker 6: we have a lot on our plate. Now we can
- 52:05Speaker 6: focus on the election. We were already gonna do that. Yes,
- 52:08Speaker 6: we dig up a little dirt on Mayor Stephanson. We
- 52:10Speaker 6: don't have to worry about Page's mortal safety because the
- 52:15Speaker 6: mob's gonna handle It's an internal mob situation.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I feel like you just tired some mercenaries. Friend.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Look, everything I know about these mobs is that they're
- 52:24Speaker 2: kind of okay. They're just doing business under a very strict,
- 52:27Speaker 2: semi authoritarian system.
- 52:29Speaker 1: And cutting off each other's heads.
- 52:31Speaker 2: That was the Irish doing that to the Yakuza.
- 52:34Speaker 6: They want less head cutting, is my understanding.
- 52:37Speaker 2: I don't know, man, you're getting You're getting us into
- 52:40Speaker 2: this shit.
- 52:42Speaker 6: Look, the mob's gonna be here no matter what. We
- 52:45Speaker 6: all right, we can't. Look, I can speak from experience.
- 52:49Speaker 6: Getting rid of them is only gonna make the city worse.
- 52:52Speaker 6: They do provide valuable services to the city, whether it's
- 52:55Speaker 6: bringing in contraband medicine, books, whether it's providing alcohol sexual
- 53:02Speaker 6: services to the city. I'm not saying those things are great,
- 53:05Speaker 6: but if they don't happen under some kind of organizational structure.
- 53:09Speaker 6: It's just going to be chaos in the streets.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Tell me more about what you know about sexual.
- 53:14Speaker 6: Services, Jason, over the pants stuff. I didn't want an
- 53:20Speaker 6: answer you asked. I learned something. I learned two.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Things to say. I don't know, Jason. It didn't feel
- 53:33Speaker 2: very heroic.
- 53:35Speaker 6: You guys are too caught up on what you're supposed
- 53:39Speaker 6: to be doing as heroes. We're trying to make the
- 53:41Speaker 6: city better. Yeah, what were you doing?
- 53:45Speaker 2: I was preparing to save a mayoral care that it's
- 53:48Speaker 2: life if it was threatened.
- 53:50Speaker 6: Same, well, yeah, I was ready to do that too.
- 53:55Speaker 6: Nobody got hurt, nobody.
- 53:57Speaker 1: No one got hurt.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Let's just, uh, let's just make sure we stay on
- 54:02Speaker 2: the right side of the ship.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and not.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Get too muddy to right.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah right.
- 54:12Speaker 6: Best friend number one, number two?
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yeah about that number two.
- 54:18Speaker 4: Of course, Yeah, we have always had something special.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Oh I can't deny that. But number two?
- 54:29Speaker 2: What other number one? One?
- 54:31Speaker 1: The other number one? The other best friend.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I just wanted to let them know there were three
- 54:36Speaker 2: of us.
- 54:37Speaker 6: Sure, that's what I was thinking too, Okay, yeah, man
- 54:41Speaker 6: and Dorothy, I guess. But hey, we gotta think of
- 54:45Speaker 6: a name for our group. Shit, we do.
- 54:50Speaker 1: What are what are some of the ones before.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Like the Venim Knights?
- 54:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, you know the Hunters were the main
- 54:58Speaker 4: six heroes of the found Yeah that's good.
- 55:03Speaker 1: What were they hunting?
- 55:04Speaker 2: Lots of different stuff like evil?
- 55:09Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, guys, I think I might be low key
- 55:12Speaker 6: addicted to drugs now.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Yeah. I was joking earlier for as a cover, but
- 55:17Speaker 2: also like you're gonna fuck yourself up eating that ship.
- 55:22Speaker 6: I hate all thing.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not even supposed to go in that.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Way, you guys, go ahead and grab a recovery rest.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Are we sleeping at Jamr's? Are we sleeping elsewhere? Are
- 55:34Speaker 4: we all sleeping there?
- 55:34Speaker 2: No, I'm sleeping there.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll go there.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Sure, go ahead and take your recovery rests. All right,
- 55:44Speaker 2: h I'm back to mex.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Nice not quite for me, boom.
- 55:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I gotta start siphoning energy from dudes, more more energy.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I think my energy is back up to full.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Can I hand them?
- 55:59Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 56:00Speaker 2: Cool? Really?
- 56:02Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 56:03Speaker 6: All right, I'll use float Yeah cool? Can I have
- 56:06Speaker 6: three of your nujo?
- 56:07Speaker 1: As we're finishing up tube time, I wrapped my scarf
- 56:13Speaker 1: around Jason's wrist like a wedding ceremony.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Like a Scottish ceremony.
- 56:20Speaker 6: This might hurt more paper, just like my trench coat
- 56:28Speaker 6: gets longer.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Does that take away from my max energy? Okay, cool,
- 56:34Speaker 1: that's a fun hack.
- 56:35Speaker 2: That's a fun give you some energy. The next morning
- 56:40Speaker 2: you wake up to Maria making breakfast.
- 56:44Speaker 4: Jackie pretty much is like living here a lot now, Uh, Jamior, Yeah,
- 56:50Speaker 4: I think she's just kind of hanging around and you know,
- 56:54Speaker 4: close to the excitement. She turns on the TV as
- 56:57Speaker 4: you guys all come into the living space and there's
- 57:01Speaker 4: an important announcement on New Babel News. You see the
- 57:06Speaker 4: mayor not having gotten in front of the camera for
- 57:09Speaker 4: quite some time. People of New Babel, it's your dear Mayor.
- 57:14Speaker 4: And I hate to say, but we are under attack.
- 57:17Speaker 4: There are parties trying to turn you against me, upstart politicians,
- 57:25Speaker 4: filling your minds with lies, masked to lawbreakers, impending the
- 57:31Speaker 4: works of our brave police force. But though these times
- 57:36Speaker 4: are troubled, I want to assure you that I am
- 57:39Speaker 4: not going anywhere. I am honored to be your mayor
- 57:42Speaker 4: and to serve you, and I will not let my
- 57:45Speaker 4: service be taken away. They will try to steal my
- 57:50Speaker 4: seat but it is you, the people who will keep
- 57:55Speaker 4: them from doing so.
- 57:57Speaker 2: So please vote.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Vote so that we don't waste meaningful New Babel dollars
- 58:04Speaker 4: on a meaning less election.
- 58:07Speaker 2: But if it does go through.
- 58:09Speaker 4: Vote for me to maintain control of the chaos. A
- 58:12Speaker 4: crime lord and a disgraced cop are your other options.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Your choice is simple.
- 58:19Speaker 4: He is then joined in the New Babel news studio
- 58:24Speaker 4: by the masked city Council, and as a show of faith,
- 58:31Speaker 4: the city Council has agreed to remove their masks. What
- 58:35Speaker 4: we cannot expect you to trust those who you cannot see,
- 58:39Speaker 4: so unlike those so called heroes who fly around causing havoc,
- 58:44Speaker 4: meet your city council and see their true faces. They
- 58:47Speaker 4: work for you tirelessly and the things they have in
- 58:50Speaker 4: store for when we remain in power or a cause
- 58:53Speaker 4: for celebrations pulls. The first city council member takes off
- 58:58Speaker 4: the fedora that has as the fallen the falling. It's
- 59:03Speaker 4: kind of like a gold chain male veil with very
- 59:06Speaker 4: fine rings. Takes off the hat. It's a woman. My
- 59:14Speaker 4: name is Diane Michaels.
- 59:16Speaker 2: No.
- 59:17Speaker 4: I'm I'm a baker and kno. I work hard for
- 59:21Speaker 4: you every day.
- 59:24Speaker 1: No.
- 59:24Speaker 4: The next one takes off his hat, Kevin Claremont. I'm
- 59:29Speaker 4: a steel worker in Coso, and I work for you
- 59:33Speaker 4: the people every day.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Next one I am. I'm doctor Jonathan j Axom.
- 59:40Speaker 4: I'm a professor and ask and I work hard for
- 59:42Speaker 4: you people every day.
- 59:44Speaker 1: So help me if they got to carry.
- 59:48Speaker 2: The next one takes off their hat.
- 59:51Speaker 4: It's carry. It's not Carrie Candal. It's at least from
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: releases creasy.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: My name is Richard Farms.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: I'm a bar owner in sass and I work hard
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: for you every day.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: The mayor says, you see ordinary people just like you,
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: representing you and moving to work with your best interests
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: in art.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Boat Stephenson.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: He looks at the camera as such intensity and.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: It cuts to commercial. God, I hate that guy. Huh.
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: I'm confused. I feel like our list was different, right, Yeah?
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: Did I just write it down?
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Yeah? No, they didn't get haircuts or anything. Those were
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: different people.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're still hiding. Of course they are, and
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: more lies. Of course they are.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Those people are probably terrified. They probably threatened their families,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: threatened their businesses.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: What's sad is that I wish that was our city council. Right,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: normal people from around the city. Actually, no real problems.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: We would be so lucky.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder what Manny knows about this.
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: Well, either way, we're gonna need a way to expose
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: all of this, right, Yeah, definitely should. Maybe we should
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: try and find a lane. The mob said she had
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: dirt on the mayor. Yeah, we'll need tangible evidence.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe we.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Start there, need to start somewhere, we.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Do, We need to start now. We're running out of time.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I'll suit up me too.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Put my soft boiled eggs to the side. We could
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: save those, Okay, I put them in an envelope. I
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: should eat them really fast because soft boiled doesn't last
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: very long than I'm out of the envelope.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: Yeah, respect the eggs. Jackie and Maria are hanging out.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Jackie looks at you guys a little sheepishly.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: Guys.
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: The stuff's bad, right, Yeah.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: The mayor just more lies. I don't know.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: Marie and I have been talking and she said that
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: she said she was meant to find the person who
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: is supposed to be the next ever Wing And uh,
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I'd like to well, I guess I'm what I'm saying
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: is I have her. Okay, I don't just want to
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: do it because one you know, you guys need to
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: agree too, I think, but I'd like to be you know,
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: on the on the short list.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: It's been about a week or a week and some
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: change since I wore that thing the first time, and
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: I'm scared, but I want to try.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Oh fuck it. I'm sorry. You guys should never mind.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I thought, I honestly just thought you you were everwing.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: Now, yeah, you saved our lives.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I look at JAMR.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Let's have you take it out for another spit, see
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: how it feels. Well, that's why it's it doesn't fit,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: you know. I hate to be picky because it's amazing,
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: but like I'm so short and I'm I wasn't as
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: fit as your grandma.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Seems like a good excuse to get Manny over here
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: and find out what he knows.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: In the meantime, you know what I used to do
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: is just put paper in my shoes. We got lots
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: of that. Yeah, she was like half a foot taller
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: than me. Lots of paper. I mean that's so much.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: I mean we have the paper, we can we can
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: make it happen.
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: Extra socks, just wear extra socks forty pairs of extra sock.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Well, thank you? Is that?
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: Is this like official? Or let let's not put labels
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: on it? But for now.
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: Jamir and like Jimmy, you look at Jackie without like
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: with the back of my head to Jamiir and like
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: put a thumbs up in front of my.
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: Body as someone who loves labels.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Yes, but Jackie, this isn't a don't feel like you're
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: letting us down if after a time or two out
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: it's too much. You don't have to do this. You're
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: gonna be great at it. You already are. But every
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: time you get in that suit, kick an ass. That's
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: the wind. You don't have to you don't have to
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: give any more.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: She stands up, puts her shoulders back a little. She
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: comes up to you, one step closer to you, jim Jamir,
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: you know I want this And if I'm too scared,
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: that's up to me, and I'll say no more, you
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: know me. I'll speak up for myself. But why don't you?
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: Why aren't you full in full support?
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Like?
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: What what's going on with with you?
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: The last friend I brought into this, I watched die Jackie? Yeah,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: I know, I don't want to watch a bullet coat
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: into you, but that's not my choice.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: She was hit by a lot of them and is.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, she's not wearing hockey pats. Goddamn go all
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: the way into her.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Taylor didn't have a super suit. I know, and
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: I will.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I mean, I got super skinned. I've all died out there.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: Right, so it'll be just as harrowing for me as
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: it is for you. But together we can watch each
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: other's backs, right, Yeah, yeah, we can all right to
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: get that fucking suit fixed for me?
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Do you have the number? I look over to Jason.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I hang out.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: I just rifled through a bunch of like a rolodex.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Didn't we didn't we have like a direct pneumatic tube.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: You have a tube to Manny?
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Oh sure, you can write Manny a letter, tell him
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: to come by for sure.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Yeah, hell yeah, tubem TUBEIM give him a tube.
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: Yeah, we got a couple talk to him about.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: So.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys are suiting up on this bright day.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: And where are you going to.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: A Lane's precinct?
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I guess so let's find her and Dirk. Oh yeah,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: damn it. I get on my earbees and try to
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: find out where Dirk's been.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Do you want to do that before you go?
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: Sure?
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Yeah? Or like on our way through the tubes, Dirk
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: come in over, Dark Blade come in over.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Eventually you hear some wrestling. Hello, Hello, Hi, Hi, Tell him?
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: I said, it's your team. Your whole team's here, wondering
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: where you are. Phantom says, Hi.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Hello Phantom? Did he say?
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: He said?
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I back, I am in the nest. So were we
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: when we just left?
- 1:07:35Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Were you in the nest?
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: Yeah? We were at yeah breakfast. He's been in the nest.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: You would have seen him down there. That's why I'm
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: saying if you want to talk to him before start
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: all that, tell him.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I said, Hi, I'm gonna go down to the nest
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: and talk to Dirk. I mean y'all can come too.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: We he just should get the update on swift Shot.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk more about that. Yep, craziness.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Take down some soft boiled eggs for Dirk.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys eat a little breakfast with Derek and
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: I put them in an envelope, eggs in an envelope,
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: breakfast to go. So we saw a swift shot last night?
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: What he sits up?
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Alert Where did you see her?
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: You guys. You guys said she wasn't sold.
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: Right, Oh, yeah, like there's a soul in her. Yeah,
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: it seemed like that.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: Yes, seems like it's like the Mayor's she's like the
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: mayor's bodyguard. Now I think she got a haircut also, Yes,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: she had a glow up.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: Damn it. Dressed very provocatively. Damn it, my sister, that's
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: got to be hard. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: she was in her She didn't speak at all, and I.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Was too preoccupied with everything going on to really focus
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: in on her mind in her state. I'm sorry miss
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: that opportunity.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: There could be more going on. We don't know the
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: full picture.
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: He furrows his brow. He looks over you. Quanta. You
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: told me you would help me find her. You told
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: me to wait wait for you.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I did.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: I would have been out there, now, I did. I tried.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: If she's with the mayor, yeah, but good news though.
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: We're planning on taking the mayor down, so at some
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: point we'd love for you to come along.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: When we come along. Now, come along now.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: Damn it?
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Can you can you imagine a mind fresh? She she
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: fell into whatever traps, whatever lies.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: He said. I don't even know how they got in contact.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Damn it. Well where are you going now?
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: We're going to follow a lead on some evidence against the.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Mayor corruption police precinct. M I'm going to go get
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: my sister. Yeah, and he treks off a different way
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: into tube time.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Messed up. He'll be Okay, I don't know if she will. Yeah,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: there's just so much going on.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: You can say that, but we need to shake down
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: this cop or encourage this cop to turn over this
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: inflo or something.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: I do kind of know where technically she's friends with Paige.
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: Oh oh, pages cop friends, she knows Elaine, and it's
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: strictly platonic. It's the information that I have.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Oh okay, that doesn't seem relevant. But well, if i'm
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: maybe we'll go make another villain. God angel, I've got swift.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Let's go make a lane into something evil.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Yay. Oh wait, I don't know, Hey, which that's not
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: on you man, That she's making her own choices or
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: she's being brain controlled by the mayor who's hacked her.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: So we don't know.
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: Okay, Look, I know I'm not maybe the best person
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: to speak on this. But sometimes a little compartmentalization is healthy.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: He's not the best person to speak on that though. Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: I'll just compartmentalize that.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Thank you for voicing that, but let us voice you're good.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Yeah, we're doing good stuff for the city. I think
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: mostly overall, I really councur about the positive elements.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Should I should I have gone with him?
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: He didn't seem like he wanted company. Yeah, that's my
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: fault too. No, he's, I mean, he's lived a whole
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: other life.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: He's, he's he listened to me. He's he's he's he
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: should be the one like in charge of us, but
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: he listens to me. Yeah, and it was the wrong call.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I just I just wanted us all to work together.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: But maybe there's too much going on for that.
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: Yeah, we're not exactly the Hunters. No, guys, maybe we
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. I know some of
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: the things we've done have led to bad outcomes, but
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: we've saved people's lives. This city would be worse without us,
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: and I really do believe that we're going to keep
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: working to make it better. And that's all you can do.
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: Sometimes your friends die, and sometimes your life dies, sometimes
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: your home dies. But out of all those things, new
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: things come back stronger. We might not be the Hunters,
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: but we could be the new Hunters, the Nunbers. I'm
- 1:13:13Speaker 6: just gonna compartmentalize that.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I kind of like the Nunters.
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: And that's where we'll end this episode of the Team
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: of Play show podcast. Oh man, we'll talk all about
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: the nunters.
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: No bad ideas in a brainstorm. There's no bad ideas.
