- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whistles. Hey, welcome to
- 0:20Speaker 1: the show, brought to you by a Draft Kings sports book,
- 0:22Speaker 1: an official sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the
- 0:25Speaker 1: Draft Kings app used the cod Bobby Sports to get
- 0:28Speaker 1: in on the action. This is a big show. It's
- 0:29Speaker 1: our recap show from the weekends. Just kick off, Kevin
- 0:32Speaker 1: and I. We will talk to coach Shane Beamer just
- 0:34Speaker 1: a few minutes. Who Kevin lined up. You're on the board, buddy,
- 0:37Speaker 1: Let's do it. He's on the board, Mikey. It's a
- 0:40Speaker 1: good one. It was awesome. He was great. He's cool,
- 0:42Speaker 1: He's like a normal dude. And you could tell that
- 0:45Speaker 1: he one was at least somewhat familiar with our idiocy,
- 0:50Speaker 1: meaning he wasn't too shaken back when I said, you
- 0:52Speaker 1: ever pete yourself? Yeah, that's similar is type question. But uh,
- 0:56Speaker 1: just a big fan of him. He's turned the whole
- 0:57Speaker 1: program around. That had a big win this weekend. Awesome.
- 0:59Speaker 1: We were nervis and he I asked him, I said,
- 1:02Speaker 1: if he had lost, would you get canceled? You can
- 1:04Speaker 1: hear what he says. We were nervous, but I had
- 1:06Speaker 1: picked him to win. I thought they would win anyway.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Texas name is a joke, and the fact that arct
- 1:11Speaker 1: All lost to them was when was everything unlucky happened
- 1:15Speaker 1: that game? But South Carolina, man, they're they're making a name.
- 1:18Speaker 1: So we'll talk to him in a few minutes. That
- 1:20Speaker 1: being said, Mike, do we need to draw a new
- 1:22Speaker 1: coach for Kevin? In a minute? Though? Should we do
- 1:24Speaker 1: this at the end just so he doesn't lose any days?
- 1:27Speaker 1: I'm getting more coaches on the board. Remember you have
- 1:29Speaker 1: two weeks to get another coach to get back to
- 1:31Speaker 1: even Yeah, I'm still working on an on another one.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But yeah, okay, you go on the five bucks. Okay,
- 1:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna grab that hat right now. Yeah, go ahead,
- 1:37Speaker 1: go and get him. All right. So here's what's up.
- 1:39Speaker 1: We're gonna talk some recaps for the NFL, talk some
- 1:41Speaker 1: recaps from college football, and we'll draw Kevin. Mike, do
- 1:44Speaker 1: you watch Cowboys game? Yeah? And I don't know. I don't.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I don't like sad. I'm still kind of sad. Yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 1: because I don't really like Dak back. Okay, I'm surprised
- 1:57Speaker 1: to hear you say that. I think Eddie would like
- 1:59Speaker 1: if this were game of thrown, he'd have you killed
- 2:01Speaker 1: for treachery. I want, like, I wanted Cooper Rush to
- 2:03Speaker 1: continue to do well, and I'm glad that deck one.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But I honestly believe that he was going to come
- 2:07Speaker 1: back and lose this game or in general in general.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I thought he would come back, he would lose, and
- 2:13Speaker 1: then he'd be like, oh, should we get Cooper Rush back?
- 2:15Speaker 1: I was expecting that. So, yeah, did you that's your
- 2:19Speaker 1: favorite team? What he said, Kevin when you walked out
- 2:21Speaker 1: was he was he doesn't really like Dak back. What
- 2:24Speaker 1: I don't think he's like ready to be back. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: still don't know. Okay, it's just because of injury than injury,
- 2:29Speaker 1: not forever. So you wanted Dak to take another week
- 2:33Speaker 1: or two and not rush back. Yeah, I felt like
- 2:34Speaker 1: they rushed back, especially after Cooper Rush lost, like, all right,
- 2:37Speaker 1: now is the time to get him back in I
- 2:39Speaker 1: didn't love him back. Cooper Rush cap to score. I mean,
- 2:43Speaker 1: he had you know, we didn't play the best game
- 2:44Speaker 1: there was the Eagles. I don't even know that was
- 2:46Speaker 1: a terrible game. He had to press a little bit
- 2:50Speaker 1: and that got him in trouble. But the Cowboys one,
- 2:52Speaker 1: what are you gonna say? Wins and wins a win.
- 2:54Speaker 1: They beat the Lions. Zeke kind of touchdown or two
- 2:58Speaker 1: maybe two one for sure too. I know Paula had
- 3:01Speaker 1: more yards, but I think zeked of touchdownes. They get
- 3:03Speaker 1: down to the one or two and it's like, let's go, baby,
- 3:05Speaker 1: give me the jafton Zeken. Both in my fantasy leagues,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'm like, let's go, we're down there. But the NFC
- 3:09Speaker 1: East is just so crazy right now, the Giants winning again.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Every game the Giants have won has been a one
- 3:15Speaker 1: possession game. I believe every single one of them. I
- 3:18Speaker 1: think they have won their six and one and they
- 3:20Speaker 1: have won every game, but I believe either one possession
- 3:23Speaker 1: or single digits. And we could look at that in
- 3:25Speaker 1: fact check that. But that game was it's pretty good.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The Giants and Jaguars game. I'll say this about that
- 3:32Speaker 1: game is that for some reason we thought we didn't
- 3:34Speaker 1: know anything because Vegas had the Jaguars is the favorite,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and more like, what do they know? What do they know?
- 3:38Speaker 1: And so I did the stupid thing, and I bet
- 3:40Speaker 1: on the Giants because I thought Vegas knows more than me,
- 3:43Speaker 1: so I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna go with
- 3:44Speaker 1: my gut and luckily I hit that one because it
- 3:46Speaker 1: was a weird line and that came down to the
- 3:48Speaker 1: last yard like if se Quon would have he tried.
- 3:52Speaker 1: He did try to go down and bounce, but they
- 3:54Speaker 1: said no, he was actually out one out before he
- 3:56Speaker 1: came back in and how he got out of bounds
- 3:58Speaker 1: that have been at game over um, but he didn't.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And so they got the ball back day through the
- 4:04Speaker 1: one yard line. And you know what, it wasn't so
- 4:07Speaker 1: close that you felt like there was anything shady going
- 4:10Speaker 1: on because you could see definitively he was stopped at
- 4:13Speaker 1: the yard. Yeah, reminded me the Titans and Rams the
- 4:16Speaker 1: Super Bowl. That's what, right, the first thing I thought of, exactly.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But what an ending a super pump for the Giants.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I mean, day awesome. Let's just say it's awesome. Is
- 4:26Speaker 1: Daniel Jones like the dude he threw for over two
- 4:29Speaker 1: hundred and ran for a hundred. They were doing this
- 4:32Speaker 1: thing with Kwan handed as a kue. Okay, now, Daniel
- 4:34Speaker 1: Jones runs. Kwan now Daniel Jones run. So is he
- 4:37Speaker 1: like the poor man of Josh Allen? You know the
- 4:39Speaker 1: day ball not as nearly as talented physically, I don't,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but similar or it's a tough one to compare it to.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't think he runs. I think it's faster than
- 4:51Speaker 1: Josh Allen. He's not as physical as Josh Allen. He
- 4:55Speaker 1: can't slide as good as Josh Allen. Daniel Jones can't slide.
- 4:59Speaker 1: He's a Tara leg off trying to get down. It's
- 5:02Speaker 1: like the most clunky. It's like a fourth grade there's
- 5:03Speaker 1: never played baseball. Okay, yeah, we're gonna do slidey practices. Brof,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you gotta get down. He's gonna get hurt on the slide,
- 5:10Speaker 1: not the hit. But it was really cool to see
- 5:11Speaker 1: them when they're six and one. I mean, if we're
- 5:13Speaker 1: going through some of this the Jets one again, it's
- 5:15Speaker 1: awesome that it was so ugly too. Both New York teams,
- 5:22Speaker 1: like the taste is so bad for both of them
- 5:23Speaker 1: is just being bad teams. So I'm still not convinced
- 5:28Speaker 1: about the who cares what? I'm convinced by the way
- 5:30Speaker 1: it's so convinced about the Jets, and I'm starting to
- 5:32Speaker 1: believe in the Giants a little bit because they have
- 5:35Speaker 1: built a system for Daniel Jones. They didn't go, all right, well,
- 5:39Speaker 1: this is our staff and Dan Jones will now run
- 5:41Speaker 1: like this until we get another quarterback to come in.
- 5:43Speaker 1: They said, Okay, we know what you're good at. Let's
- 5:46Speaker 1: figure it out and make it work for you. Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It's pretty cool pole to see. Yeah, maybe Peyton Manny
- 5:51Speaker 1: was right because he was the one that was like,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you gotta draft Daniel Jones at number six or wherever
- 5:54Speaker 1: we're draft in that first round. Yeah, he's a big
- 5:56Speaker 1: advocate form coming out of dude. Yeah with Cutcliff and
- 5:59Speaker 1: because that's his old coach, So good for the Giant
- 6:03Speaker 1: And you were right on that's that am I. Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Every game it's like they go, Okay, here's what we're
- 6:09Speaker 1: gonna do. We're just gonna kind of kick the can
- 6:12Speaker 1: trying to shorten. I have a friend that does two
- 6:13Speaker 1: clock all the time. I'm Madden. Pisces me off because
- 6:16Speaker 1: he just makes the game shorter, and I'm like, let's
- 6:18Speaker 1: play just two clock all the time? Two clock, two clock,
- 6:21Speaker 1: two clock? What is that? It? Um so, so as
- 6:23Speaker 1: you come out of the huddle, it makes a clock.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's like they were running really exhausting that but you
- 6:28Speaker 1: don't have to wait the full amount. And I'm like,
- 6:30Speaker 1: just play the game, let's throw, let's score some points.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Choo clock, chew clock. And so that's basically what the
- 6:35Speaker 1: Giants are doing. You just get in a game with
- 6:36Speaker 1: us and we're gonna makes it up, be ugly and
- 6:39Speaker 1: at the end it's gonna come down to some good coaching.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And they have the Seahawks next. Pretty good though. That's exciting.
- 6:45Speaker 1: The Seahawks are and they're the only team. They're the
- 6:48Speaker 1: only winning record in that division. Um, I guess three
- 6:51Speaker 1: and three is a winning record better. I guess right.
- 6:55Speaker 1: They're the only above five dred team in that that division. Wild, Yeah,
- 7:00Speaker 1: it is wild. Yeah, some of the NFL is was
- 7:02Speaker 1: weird this year. It was drunk yesterday. Yeah, it was
- 7:05Speaker 1: pretty drunk. It was pretty drunk yesterday. All right, we're
- 7:08Speaker 1: gonna go. I'm gonna go over to coach Beaner. First,
- 7:11Speaker 1: let's go to this interview because I think it's awesome.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Kevin Kevin booked him. Uh, one of my favorite interviews
- 7:15Speaker 1: we've done. Here in a long time he thought he
- 7:17Speaker 1: was such a nice guy and such like a like,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I don't want to play for him because it just
- 7:20Speaker 1: seems like a dude and not like a bro dude,
- 7:23Speaker 1: just like I don't know, crying his shoulder. I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 1: They'll take care of you can buy sports. Yeah. So
- 7:29Speaker 1: here he is after a big win beating Texas A
- 7:32Speaker 1: and M, which, by the way, they returned the opening
- 7:34Speaker 1: kickoff then they all TEXA M kicks and onside kick
- 7:38Speaker 1: down one possession, Texas and recovers the onside kick at
- 7:41Speaker 1: the end of the game only down six points, and
- 7:43Speaker 1: you're like, oh my god, has it fallen apart? And
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have to think, knowing what South Carolina fans feel like,
- 7:48Speaker 1: because I being an Arkansas fan, We're like, okay, well
- 7:50Speaker 1: we're gonna blow it again because we blow it all
- 7:51Speaker 1: the time. I bet you they were like, they're like, oh, great,
- 7:54Speaker 1: of course, of course we do it, and they didn't.
- 7:57Speaker 1: That's how cultures change. It's awesome them. So here he
- 8:00Speaker 1: is South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer coach first
- 8:04Speaker 1: of all, big fan of what you're doing over there.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm an SEC guy, and you know, one of the schools.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I don't hate South Carolina and you've got my boy
- 8:11Speaker 1: steps over there, so you know, I uh, I've been
- 8:13Speaker 1: mildly rooting for you guys, and that's a that's a
- 8:16Speaker 1: big deal for me. So congratulations on on the big
- 8:18Speaker 1: win this weekend. I appreciate it. It means a lot.
- 8:20Speaker 1: The feelings mutual. Listen to you all the time, so
- 8:24Speaker 1: cool to be on with you. Thanks man. A couple
- 8:26Speaker 1: of things. One, if you would have lost what you
- 8:28Speaker 1: have canceled? That was the big debate here. No for
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know, okay, because I said so, once I get
- 8:35Speaker 1: my word to somebody, I'll stick to it all right. Um.
- 8:38Speaker 1: A couple of things that I was thinking this weekend
- 8:40Speaker 1: while watching the game when a M recovers that onside kick,
- 8:43Speaker 1: because I got a lot of game questions and a
- 8:44Speaker 1: lot of general questions, But when a M recovers the
- 8:46Speaker 1: onside kick, and I know, you gotta have a poker
- 8:48Speaker 1: face or a coach's face. What are you really thinking
- 8:51Speaker 1: when they cross it up and they and now they're
- 8:54Speaker 1: down up one possession with the ball, I'm thinking, you've
- 8:58Speaker 1: got to be eff and kidding me right now. Um, Honestly,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it was one of those just gotta they got a
- 9:04Speaker 1: perfect hop on it, and I mean, good credit to them,
- 9:07Speaker 1: but it was kind of like one of those. UM
- 9:11Speaker 1: had a great confidence in our defense going out there,
- 9:13Speaker 1: but it was one of those we just kept letting
- 9:14Speaker 1: them hang around, hang around, hang around, and we had
- 9:16Speaker 1: plenty of opportunities to put that game away, and it
- 9:20Speaker 1: was like, man, we really let it come down to this.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And then I was thinking about how bad it was
- 9:24Speaker 1: that this series before we weren't able to convert a
- 9:27Speaker 1: fourth and one to just end the game right then
- 9:30Speaker 1: and there. When you look back at the very first
- 9:32Speaker 1: play of the game, which I was watching as well,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and it was a kick on for a time for
- 9:35Speaker 1: a touchdown. Do you try to show unbridled emotion ever?
- 9:41Speaker 1: I mean, or are you all like I just wonder
- 9:43Speaker 1: what's happening in your guts while big stuff is happening
- 9:46Speaker 1: like that? No? I tried to, Uh, I gotta be me,
- 9:50Speaker 1: And certainly you want to maintain poise and all that
- 9:53Speaker 1: on the sidelines as the head coach, but uh, I
- 9:56Speaker 1: really truly just loved seeing our players have success and
- 10:00Speaker 1: love watching them play. And the environment in that stadium
- 10:03Speaker 1: was off the charts. So I was super emotional and
- 10:07Speaker 1: super excited, but you know, you also can't lose sight
- 10:10Speaker 1: of you got a job to do and and there's
- 10:12Speaker 1: a long way to go and what's next, and we
- 10:14Speaker 1: just we just ran this kickoff back for a touchdown,
- 10:17Speaker 1: and now we gotta get our kickoff team out there
- 10:20Speaker 1: to go cover a kickoff and things like that as well.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I would have been going crazy. You've ever been so excited?
- 10:24Speaker 1: You pete a little, I think, because it's happened to me,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Like really you just jump and like like maybe you're
- 10:28Speaker 1: a little sick. Has that ever happened to you? Probably?
- 10:32Speaker 1: So I've had a lot of different emotions as well,
- 10:35Speaker 1: So I can't say that's that happened to me Saturday night,
- 10:37Speaker 1: but I'm sure it has at some point. I'm curious
- 10:39Speaker 1: about a culture change because you're going to South Carolina,
- 10:42Speaker 1: very familiar with the program, and you know what's what
- 10:45Speaker 1: they were looking for when they hired you. But when
- 10:48Speaker 1: you're starting from scratch, like when you go in as
- 10:50Speaker 1: a head coach, how do you start from scratch with
- 10:53Speaker 1: an entire culture? Yeah, for for me, it was coming
- 10:57Speaker 1: in here and you gotta get to know the people
- 11:00Speaker 1: and know who you're working with and what they're about.
- 11:02Speaker 1: So the very first thing I did was, you know,
- 11:05Speaker 1: before I hired a staff, and I mean I was
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the process of it, but the very first thing
- 11:09Speaker 1: I did was just start meeting individually with every single
- 11:13Speaker 1: player on this team. And I got hired mid December,
- 11:17Speaker 1: I guess, and or late December and before Christmas, and
- 11:20Speaker 1: then right after the right after Christmas, met with everything
- 11:24Speaker 1: player on the team in my office. They just came
- 11:26Speaker 1: in here and sat down with them. Tell me about yourself,
- 11:29Speaker 1: where you're from, Tell me about your family, Why did
- 11:31Speaker 1: you choose South Carolina, What are your goals? Just finding
- 11:34Speaker 1: out as much as you can about them as people
- 11:36Speaker 1: and connecting with people. Uh that way, I mean to me,
- 11:39Speaker 1: that's how you start and and then you just build
- 11:41Speaker 1: from there. And for me, it's being very consistent and
- 11:45Speaker 1: genuine and what we talked about and not saying one
- 11:47Speaker 1: thing and doing another. And I know it's cliche, but
- 11:50Speaker 1: I mean, I think our players in this program would
- 11:51Speaker 1: tell you that they know we care about them as
- 11:53Speaker 1: people first and foremost, and and um, you know, before
- 11:57Speaker 1: before anything, when you hear that you're up for the
- 12:00Speaker 1: job at South Carolina. Do you hear that or do
- 12:03Speaker 1: you hear they want you for the job at South Carolina?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Um both, you know, I mean, you hear your name.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But I knew there was enough support here from you know,
- 12:14Speaker 1: some people within the program. But you know, one thing
- 12:17Speaker 1: that helped me, Bobby, was the fact that I was
- 12:18Speaker 1: here as an assistant coach and have relationships with former players.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So when people like Melvin Ingram and stuff on Gilmore
- 12:28Speaker 1: and and former players Connor Shaw, players like that, or
- 12:31Speaker 1: Marcus Lattimore speaking out publicly on your behalf, you know,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you know you're gonna be in the mix. But there
- 12:36Speaker 1: were a lot of people that were interested in this job,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and I was coaching at Oklahoma and had a job
- 12:40Speaker 1: to do during the time during that time. But uh, certainly,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I think it was a combination of both and um
- 12:46Speaker 1: as when I interviewed, I felt really good about it
- 12:48Speaker 1: coming out of the interview and how that went, and
- 12:51Speaker 1: it all worked out in the end. So you're South Carolina,
- 12:54Speaker 1: You're starting to win a little bit. You guys are
- 12:55Speaker 1: five and two and it's been cool to watch you guys,
- 12:57Speaker 1: And do you feel like you've gotten better during the
- 12:59Speaker 1: season or do you feel that your players have understood
- 13:04Speaker 1: what you're trying to do as the season goes, because again,
- 13:06Speaker 1: we Arkansas. I'm from Arkansas. Obviously we played you guys,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and we beat you early. But you feel like you
- 13:11Speaker 1: guys are so much better now than you are even
- 13:12Speaker 1: earlier this year. Yeah, we are. You know, we had
- 13:15Speaker 1: a lot of injuries that have hit us even since
- 13:17Speaker 1: that Arkansas game, and and uh, we have gotten better.
- 13:22Speaker 1: We're a different football team. We weren't very we weren't
- 13:25Speaker 1: physical enough that day against Arkansas, and and and out
- 13:28Speaker 1: in Fayetteville. We've gotten better on a lot of scrimmage,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and we talked about that all the time. It's just
- 13:33Speaker 1: improving during the season and constantly trying to get better.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And even after the big Kentucky win a couple of
- 13:39Speaker 1: weeks ago, we had the off week two weeks ago,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and then we played Texas A and M. And I
- 13:44Speaker 1: really feel like we got better as a football team
- 13:46Speaker 1: during the offul week, and then we got better as
- 13:48Speaker 1: a football team during the during the Texas A and
- 13:51Speaker 1: M week as well. It'll be critical for us this
- 13:53Speaker 1: week as well to continue to to get better. But
- 13:56Speaker 1: we gotta excuse you. We got a really good group
- 13:58Speaker 1: of guys that love the work and love to practice,
- 14:01Speaker 1: and that's how you you know, that's how you get better.
- 14:04Speaker 1: And we talked about it all the time. But after
- 14:06Speaker 1: that Kentucky win, we said it would be a real
- 14:08Speaker 1: shame if we're the same team six weeks from now.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Then we were after Kentucky like, we gotta get better
- 14:14Speaker 1: as a team, and and I do feel like we are.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Whenever you have a big win like this past week,
- 14:19Speaker 1: I can say and m you go back and you
- 14:21Speaker 1: do the big celebration that you talk to your team.
- 14:23Speaker 1: You know, it's all a big party. But then that
- 14:26Speaker 1: because I'll do a show, like if I do a
- 14:27Speaker 1: theater show, I do stand up and everybody's like, oh,
- 14:29Speaker 1: like if Bobby's awesome, And I go back to my
- 14:30Speaker 1: room and I'm like, let's suck now, I'm lonely. But
- 14:32Speaker 1: you go back home and I'm assuming, like, can you
- 14:34Speaker 1: go to sleep that night? Like what are you just
- 14:37Speaker 1: adrenaline pumping all night long? Yeah, it's hard. Adrenaline is
- 14:40Speaker 1: pumping all night long, you know. So the game ends,
- 14:43Speaker 1: talk to the team that I go down the hall
- 14:45Speaker 1: and I'll do the postgame press conference and and that's
- 14:49Speaker 1: five minutes. And then I go right back down to
- 14:51Speaker 1: the hall, right back down the hall, and I'll do
- 14:53Speaker 1: postgame radio show with Todd ellis our radio play by
- 14:56Speaker 1: play guy, and then jump in the shower, change thows
- 15:00Speaker 1: and walk and go tape the weekly coaches show. So
- 15:04Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's late before you get home. So
- 15:07Speaker 1: I mean, I think that game the other night ended
- 15:09Speaker 1: probably around eleven o'clock or whatever. I mean, it was
- 15:11Speaker 1: close to one am, one thirty before I before I
- 15:13Speaker 1: got in got to the house. And you're like emotionally spent,
- 15:17Speaker 1: but the adrenaline is pumping as well. So you stayed up,
- 15:21Speaker 1: You eat, watch something, oh, you watch the game. It's
- 15:24Speaker 1: not like you turn Hulu on, you watch the game
- 15:26Speaker 1: tape immediately. No, I'm not that. I'm not that crazy
- 15:30Speaker 1: like I need a break. But for me, it's just
- 15:32Speaker 1: kind of going home and and usually kids are asleep
- 15:35Speaker 1: and and it's probably just me by myself when I
- 15:39Speaker 1: get home, and I'll just settle on the cow and
- 15:41Speaker 1: maybe watch highlights of games from that day or what
- 15:44Speaker 1: else happened in the SEC and things like that. But
- 15:47Speaker 1: I stayed up for I don't know, an hour, two
- 15:49Speaker 1: when I got home the other night and trying to
- 15:51Speaker 1: go to sleep because you are emotionally worn out and spent.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But then it's wake right back up on Sunday morning
- 15:57Speaker 1: and back in the office Sunday morning and right back
- 15:59Speaker 1: to work, Eddie, Yeah, I want I do. Coach. I
- 16:02Speaker 1: want to ask you, how much is your job consists
- 16:05Speaker 1: of not just coaching football to your players, but being
- 16:08Speaker 1: a father figure to them? Like do they come to
- 16:10Speaker 1: you and sit down me, like, coach, I'm dating this girl, man,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I just don't know about like her, you know, Like,
- 16:15Speaker 1: do you have conversations like that with your players? I do?
- 16:18Speaker 1: And that's like, and honestly, it's my probably my favorite
- 16:20Speaker 1: part of the job. I mean, I love coaching, don't
- 16:22Speaker 1: get me wrong, But I always enjoyed as an assistant
- 16:25Speaker 1: coach having really great relationships with everybody on the team.
- 16:28Speaker 1: But you're really focused on your position group, the tight
- 16:31Speaker 1: ends you coach, or the running backs or whatever it
- 16:33Speaker 1: might be. And I love the fact that I'm the
- 16:35Speaker 1: head coach now and can have those relationships with a
- 16:38Speaker 1: hundred and twenty guys on our football team, and that
- 16:41Speaker 1: they feel comfortable coming in my office and in talking
- 16:44Speaker 1: about that. So, yeah, we have those conversations all the
- 16:47Speaker 1: time school girls. Uh uh something going on back home
- 16:52Speaker 1: with a family member, whatever it may be, and uh,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I want them to feel comfortable talking to me about that.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And that's a big part of it as well. To me,
- 17:00Speaker 1: that's the culture and our players, you know, no one,
- 17:03Speaker 1: not just with me, but all of our coaches and staff,
- 17:05Speaker 1: uh that we've we got their backs and we're here
- 17:08Speaker 1: for him and in every which way. What kind of
- 17:10Speaker 1: guys he's awesome? He really is he um you know.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I mean, I guess there was I've never seen it.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I guess there was a Netflix show when he was
- 17:18Speaker 1: in high school that they can make anybody look anyway
- 17:21Speaker 1: they want on a reality type TV show. That he
- 17:24Speaker 1: may have gotten a bad rap on him. But he's fantastic,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I mean, and I knew that before he came in
- 17:28Speaker 1: here because I spent two years with him together, two
- 17:30Speaker 1: years with him in Oklahoma when I was there in Norman,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and knew what kind of person he was. But but
- 17:35Speaker 1: he's awesome. He's one of those guys when he when
- 17:37Speaker 1: he got here, he didn't come in here and it
- 17:39Speaker 1: wasn't it wasn't a you know, I'm Spencer Rattler and
- 17:42Speaker 1: and and look at me and all this stuff. He
- 17:44Speaker 1: just came in here and worked his butt off and
- 17:47Speaker 1: tried to earn the respect of his teammates. And and
- 17:49Speaker 1: he has. And he's earned the respect of his teammates,
- 17:53Speaker 1: I think because of the kind of person he is,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but just his work ethic, like he grimes and really
- 17:57Speaker 1: works and and doesn't care about stats. And he's just
- 18:01Speaker 1: in the in the winning football games. So I love
- 18:04Speaker 1: him and he's been fantastic for us. So one and
- 18:06Speaker 1: off the field. We're gonna pause this interview for a

- 19:19Speaker 1: and resources. Gambling problem called one hundred Gambler Tennessee caller Texas,
- 19:22Speaker 1: Tennessee redline eight hundred eight eight nine nine in New
- 19:25Speaker 1: York called eight seven seven eight Hope and wire text
- 19:27Speaker 1: Hope and y four six seven three six nine. Does
- 19:29Speaker 1: it help you in recruiting that you look twenty five?
- 19:33Speaker 1: I mean you look I mean honestly, I mean you're
- 19:35Speaker 1: going to a house and you know you're not a
- 19:38Speaker 1: seventy year old dude. That that that's probably gotta help
- 19:40Speaker 1: that you talk and look similar aids to the players, right,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think so, I don't feel it, So I'm glad
- 19:47Speaker 1: you said that. I appreciate it, But now I think
- 19:49Speaker 1: it it uh. I think it helps being able to
- 19:52Speaker 1: relate to them and and being able to connect with them,
- 19:56Speaker 1: whether it be the kids you're recruiting or the players
- 19:58Speaker 1: on your own team, just being able to relate and
- 20:01Speaker 1: have that connection with them as well. So I try
- 20:05Speaker 1: and stay up to date on what they're listening to
- 20:07Speaker 1: and what they're watching and what's going on in their
- 20:09Speaker 1: world and things like that. And they do a good
- 20:11Speaker 1: job of keeping me keeping me informed as well. So
- 20:15Speaker 1: it certainly doesn't hurt. But you know, I'll take any
- 20:17Speaker 1: uh any angle I can, all right, just absolute truth.
- 20:20Speaker 1: There you ever sneak and put the pads on again
- 20:22Speaker 1: and just walk around and be like just because I would,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I would, I would relive. I mean, nobody needs to
- 20:26Speaker 1: be around like just kind of relive it sometimes be
- 20:28Speaker 1: like this is what it was like for me back
- 20:29Speaker 1: in the day. I think you get that. You get
- 20:31Speaker 1: a dose of that, like when you're when you're on
- 20:33Speaker 1: the practice field each day and you're out there for
- 20:35Speaker 1: two hours and you're getting to run around and and
- 20:38Speaker 1: and be a part of it and still compete. But
- 20:40Speaker 1: not really. I mean I got, you know, old stuff
- 20:43Speaker 1: at at home, like helmets and baseball helmets when I
- 20:46Speaker 1: played baseball in high school and things like that, and
- 20:49Speaker 1: I can't stay off with the pads. And when I'll
- 20:51Speaker 1: be honest, I have been known to maybe trying on
- 20:56Speaker 1: helmet and I'm wore back in the day and and
- 20:58Speaker 1: uh see how that fits and all that though, I uh,
- 21:01Speaker 1: maybe I should, but I can't say I've done that.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I was looking at some of the people that you've
- 21:05Speaker 1: coached under and worked under, from you know, coach O
- 21:08Speaker 1: Leary at Georgia Tech, UH, coach Spurrier um, your dad obviously,
- 21:13Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley, who is a mentor to you. That's a
- 21:16Speaker 1: generation older that you could call and go, hey, I
- 21:18Speaker 1: kind of experiencing this. Can you give me? Can you
- 21:20Speaker 1: give me some of that knowledge and wisdom? Yeah, you
- 21:24Speaker 1: know it helps to be able to obviously my dad
- 21:27Speaker 1: be able to reach out to him as well, but
- 21:29Speaker 1: beyond that, Honestly, when I was at Mississippi State, I
- 21:32Speaker 1: worked for Sylvester Croom and first African American coach in
- 21:36Speaker 1: the SEC going into the College Football Hall of Fame
- 21:38Speaker 1: in December. He's he's awesome, and uh, somebody coached NFL
- 21:43Speaker 1: coached college head coach and miss me State, and he's
- 21:46Speaker 1: somebody that I, you know, certainly can reach out to
- 21:48Speaker 1: at any time and still value his opinion and value
- 21:51Speaker 1: what he says, and and still hear from him, like
- 21:54Speaker 1: I said, regularly as well. So he'd be the first
- 21:56Speaker 1: guy to jump him on. And and there's a lot
- 21:59Speaker 1: of guys active to to this, retired coaches, um that
- 22:02Speaker 1: that I certainly value their opinion and have been known
- 22:05Speaker 1: to reach out for their input also. Alright, final three questions, coacher, Um,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I wanna lay out a scenario to you. This happened
- 22:11Speaker 1: to me. I want to go back to my high
- 22:12Speaker 1: school football days and I know you look at me
- 22:13Speaker 1: and go, U pure athlete, and you probably would you
- 22:15Speaker 1: probably would recruit me based on just my wealth of
- 22:17Speaker 1: knowledge of the game. But my senior year in high school,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I was captain obviously, and we go out and I
- 22:25Speaker 1: just remember it's it's a very motivating pregame speech. My
- 22:28Speaker 1: coaches like, we're gonna go. I didn't play much defense.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I know, you get me probably linebackers, more wide receiver
- 22:32Speaker 1: type guy. But he was like, we're gonna go out.
- 22:34Speaker 1: We're gonna shut him down, and you know we're gonna
- 22:36Speaker 1: kick whatever. It's all I hear. Now, it's a pretty
- 22:39Speaker 1: smart guy. Go out. They flipped coin. Uh, they win
- 22:42Speaker 1: the toss and they differ, and I go, we're gonna kick.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Now how this works is if they differ, we have
- 22:48Speaker 1: to receive or that means we're kicking at the beginning
- 22:51Speaker 1: of the game, and then we kick again at halftime.
- 22:53Speaker 1: But the ref was like, are you sure, I go,
- 22:55Speaker 1: we're gonna kick. I was fired up. I was too,
- 22:56Speaker 1: it's too emotional. I came out of the locker room.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Coach is ready to go. We're gonna shot him. Do out.
- 23:00Speaker 1: He goes, are you sure? I said, yeah? He goes okay,
- 23:02Speaker 1: And so they said, uh, they've deferred, they're gonna kick,
- 23:05Speaker 1: and they're also gonna kick at halftime. And so I
- 23:09Speaker 1: walk up the field and my head coach guys and
- 23:10Speaker 1: by the face mask, and he said, you might be
- 23:12Speaker 1: the smartest player to ever play for me. But that's
- 23:14Speaker 1: the dumbest blanking thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 23:17Speaker 1: And we lost by six, if I'm being honest with
- 23:19Speaker 1: lost by six that game. We all lost two games
- 23:21Speaker 1: the whole year that was one one. Have you ever
- 23:23Speaker 1: had anyone do anything like that? And too, what would
- 23:25Speaker 1: you have done to me? If you were my coach
- 23:27Speaker 1: to me, to be honest, smooth you, I would put
- 23:30Speaker 1: that on me if you made that mistake. I've did
- 23:32Speaker 1: a poor job of preparing you to go out there
- 23:35Speaker 1: to the coin talk for the coin toss because obviously
- 23:37Speaker 1: you weren't coached up well enough on that one. I
- 23:41Speaker 1: don't think. I don't think I have, but we tried.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I don't think I've been involved in that, but I
- 23:49Speaker 1: can't understand because the coach had just done it's an
- 23:52Speaker 1: honest mistake. You know. We actually before about nine minutes
- 23:56Speaker 1: until kick off, when we're in the locker room. I
- 23:59Speaker 1: actually get with the captains and and go through here,
- 24:02Speaker 1: here's exactly what's gonna happen. If we win the toss,
- 24:05Speaker 1: We're gonna do this, you know, and you always worry
- 24:07Speaker 1: about they win and defer and then you say, well,
- 24:11Speaker 1: we want to kick off here as well. So I
- 24:14Speaker 1: make sure and say, now, look, if they win the
- 24:15Speaker 1: toss and native for we're gonna take the ball. And
- 24:18Speaker 1: thankfully the SEC officials they're they're pretty good about not
- 24:22Speaker 1: letting letting somebody screw it up if they got caught
- 24:24Speaker 1: in that situation. But you're always worried about it, So
- 24:27Speaker 1: I can understand why it happened to me. You were
- 24:29Speaker 1: just doing what your coach told you to do. Have
- 24:31Speaker 1: you ever heard have you ever seen that happen on
- 24:32Speaker 1: any game on any level? Um, we're going, yeah, there
- 24:40Speaker 1: was one of those NFL games a while back when
- 24:42Speaker 1: it was somebody did something in the they I don't know.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I think I want to say that come made a
- 24:46Speaker 1: mistake at the coin toss, but but I'm sure it happened.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I don't think he had taken the lamb. I like that.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna now on alright, coach looking ahead, Listen, we're
- 24:56Speaker 1: five and two. I I really like South Carolina because
- 24:59Speaker 1: I've been to some games out there and the fans
- 25:02Speaker 1: are extremely nice. And this is my theory. In Arkansas,
- 25:05Speaker 1: we don't have proteins, Like everything revolves around the Arkansas Razorbacks.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So I grew up and that's my team, regardless of
- 25:10Speaker 1: live or die. And I assume a lot of these
- 25:12Speaker 1: South Carolina fans are like that too, and they're awesome fans.
- 25:15Speaker 1: As you're going forward this season, Like, what is the
- 25:18Speaker 1: goal for you guys as you finish SEC play and
- 25:21Speaker 1: even regular season here? Yeah, for it's I know it's cliche,
- 25:25Speaker 1: but really it's just continue to get better. And you're
- 25:27Speaker 1: exactly right. We got an unbelievable home home field advantage,
- 25:31Speaker 1: unbelievable environment, great fans because there are no pro sports
- 25:36Speaker 1: here in South Carolina, like uh, like Arkansas. So we've
- 25:39Speaker 1: got a big challenge, you know, for a SEC games
- 25:42Speaker 1: left and and then Clemson, we got a lot to
- 25:44Speaker 1: work at, a lot to work go one and get
- 25:46Speaker 1: better at. But that's the thing for us, just continue
- 25:48Speaker 1: to continue to get better, just continue to try and
- 25:51Speaker 1: improve and and be the very best team we can
- 25:54Speaker 1: be by the end of the season, and and we're
- 25:56Speaker 1: on the right track. We've got some awesome kids that
- 25:58Speaker 1: are playing their butts off right now. We just got
- 26:00Speaker 1: to keep keep going in the right direction. I hope
- 26:01Speaker 1: you beat the crap out of Clemson. I can't wait
- 26:03Speaker 1: for I hope you beat the crap out of Clemson.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Like and just don't just don't let Okay my final question,
- 26:09Speaker 1: because that would beat the crap out of Clemson. So
- 26:11Speaker 1: if you're playing a team and let's say you're up
- 26:14Speaker 1: twenty five or thirty, and this is just a general
- 26:16Speaker 1: question about coaching, do you either pump the brakes because
- 26:21Speaker 1: you like the coach or hit a little harder because
- 26:23Speaker 1: you don't. Does that ever happen? What you want the
- 26:27Speaker 1: politically correct answer? Do you want the truth? I just
- 26:30Speaker 1: I tell you what would be for me is I
- 26:32Speaker 1: would probably go if it were even I would probably go,
- 26:35Speaker 1: you know what, if I'm in the situation, I don't
- 26:37Speaker 1: want someone to take care of me, even if I
- 26:38Speaker 1: didn't even know the coach. But if it was somebody
- 26:41Speaker 1: who was just a total d bag, I would be like,
- 26:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna show you why you don't be a d back.
- 26:45Speaker 1: To me or my friends, that's what I would do.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I don't know if you're similar coach, but anything you'd
- 26:49Speaker 1: like to shed on that. No, first of all, I
- 26:53Speaker 1: need to be in those situations more where I have
- 26:55Speaker 1: that opportunity or that decision to make. We haven't been
- 26:58Speaker 1: enough of them. But I think there's a really uh
- 27:00Speaker 1: there's a healthy respect, and you've got respect for the
- 27:03Speaker 1: person the other person on that sideline always and want
- 27:08Speaker 1: to do right by them. They have a program, they
- 27:10Speaker 1: have players, they have families, all that stuff as well,
- 27:12Speaker 1: and you want to have the respect of your peers.
- 27:15Speaker 1: That's really important to me. Also, I haven't said that
- 27:18Speaker 1: if you, for whatever reason feel disrespected or or something
- 27:22Speaker 1: may be going on on in that game, that is
- 27:26Speaker 1: it right, whatever it may be. Certainly the competitive juices
- 27:29Speaker 1: get flowing and things like that as well. So you know,
- 27:32Speaker 1: there's a there's a great healthy respect in this league
- 27:34Speaker 1: amongst coaches and and we've got to continue to try
- 27:37Speaker 1: and put ourselves in positions where we can be in
- 27:39Speaker 1: those be in those situations and have those decisions to make.
- 27:42Speaker 1: We haven't been enough of them yet. There are a
- 27:45Speaker 1: few coaches I really stick it to. I got a
- 27:47Speaker 1: chance we could, I know, I'd really let them have it. Coach,
- 27:51Speaker 1: Can we can I kind of come on again so
- 27:52Speaker 1: we can talk about who those guys are, you know
- 27:54Speaker 1: after the season. Absolutely, Hey, coach, really just a big
- 27:58Speaker 1: fan of you know what you're doing with with that program.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Just in general. I think you are a great example
- 28:02Speaker 1: to a lot of young coaches out there and how
- 28:04Speaker 1: you do things. And you know, I have some friends
- 28:06Speaker 1: that work over in that administration at University South Carolina
- 28:09Speaker 1: and they love you, and I appreciate the time and
- 28:12Speaker 1: continue and I'm rooting for you guys, coach, So thank
- 28:14Speaker 1: you very much. No, it means a lot. I appreciate
- 28:16Speaker 1: you saying that I'm surrounded by some awesome people here
- 28:19Speaker 1: at Carolina and blessed to bless to be here and
- 28:22Speaker 1: less to be around great players and a big fan
- 28:24Speaker 1: of yours. So come see us in Columbia and hope
- 28:27Speaker 1: to be on against soon. Alright, Coach, thanks man, you bet,
- 28:30Speaker 1: thank you all. Thanks Coach Beamer for coming on. Kevin,
- 28:32Speaker 1: great job, that's a lot of fun. That's a super
- 28:35Speaker 1: cool dude. And I saw when the interview finish, which
- 28:37Speaker 1: we did it thirty minutes ago, and we recorded this.
- 28:40Speaker 1: You follow me on Twitter, so we're probably if that's
- 28:41Speaker 1: now there you go. And I don't hate South Carolina, Yeah,
- 28:46Speaker 1: so that means I like them. I guess. I read
- 28:48Speaker 1: a story about how Arkansas is not hated at all,
- 28:50Speaker 1: but that sucks because that means we haven't been so
- 28:51Speaker 1: good with annoyed people. That's true. So two of the
- 28:54Speaker 1: most unheted programs we actually came in the SEC at
- 28:57Speaker 1: the same time, same year. Arkansas in South Arina uh
- 29:00Speaker 1: n c double a recap. Ohio State whooped it up
- 29:02Speaker 1: on Iowa. Um I thought, because Iowa, I believe had
- 29:07Speaker 1: a fumble return early, and I thought, is there anyway
- 29:11Speaker 1: this shakes out because you need to beat one of
- 29:13Speaker 1: these top five teams, you gotta have some real luck.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And then it wasn't. It was a bigger, faster, guys reality,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and you think the game when this when the championship,
- 29:26Speaker 1: I'm still they haven't played anybody yet, you know that,
- 29:29Speaker 1: and then their conference in general, it's just kind of iffy.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So I don't know if you have to wait till
- 29:32Speaker 1: Michigan they play Michigan and then we'll see, But it's
- 29:35Speaker 1: Michigan really that good they're good. But yeah, I think
- 29:39Speaker 1: Michigan is pretty good. Yeah, but Ohio State's offense is
- 29:41Speaker 1: just nasty. If they're healthy receivers and stroud, they should
- 29:44Speaker 1: be good. But I haven't watched them play enough competition.
- 29:47Speaker 1: You have to really have an understanding on them. Tennessee,
- 29:49Speaker 1: whooped up on you, T Martin. Obviously that was an
- 29:51Speaker 1: easy one. The Clemson Syracuse game was good. I was
- 29:54Speaker 1: watching and they pulled DJ. Yeah, they switch quarterbacks. I
- 29:58Speaker 1: think he the two picks. Yeah, he's like thirteen yards. Yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 1: and I'm sure I knew me through one interception. I
- 30:06Speaker 1: was clipping back and forth. It was the eleven o'clock
- 30:08Speaker 1: game here, the early game, and so they switched quarterbacks.
- 30:12Speaker 1: And then I head off and we eat some lunch
- 30:13Speaker 1: and come back and I'm watching the score on my
- 30:15Speaker 1: phone the whole time, and Syracuse is down six and
- 30:20Speaker 1: they're driving to win the game, and I'm like, oh,
- 30:23Speaker 1: here we go, here we go. Then they get to
- 30:24Speaker 1: about midfield, and this is when I started to sit
- 30:27Speaker 1: up all straight. I'm like, the curses, it's finally gonna
- 30:28Speaker 1: get him. The cursing Clempsons get and he throes a
- 30:31Speaker 1: pick like write to him. Yeah, so but you know,
- 30:35Speaker 1: does I mean, I guess they have a new quarterback now. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 1: and he's just a stud from what I've seen from
- 30:41Speaker 1: from like Westlake, I think Mike, Yeah, I think for
- 30:44Speaker 1: my Austin Westlake from one of the mad looked that up.
- 30:47Speaker 1: This is going from memory, but yeah, I thought I
- 30:49Speaker 1: was really pulling for Syracuse there, and I tell coach
- 30:52Speaker 1: Beamer please be Clemson in the interview. Yeah, that was
- 30:55Speaker 1: pretty clear. Alabama just a bigger, faster, stronger team than
- 31:00Speaker 1: in Mississippi State. I think at one point Nicks they've
- 31:02Speaker 1: been yelled at the rest f you guys or the
- 31:05Speaker 1: UF and guys. I saw a clip. It's like one
- 31:07Speaker 1: of those liperating things. It looked like he was really
- 31:10Speaker 1: going to town on those reffs when they're up thirty
- 31:12Speaker 1: to nothing. Yeah, that's always usually what it is. Had said,
- 31:15Speaker 1: you know the game that I missed, I mean I
- 31:17Speaker 1: couldn't have missed it any worse was the L S
- 31:19Speaker 1: U All miss game. Did you see any of this?
- 31:21Speaker 1: I saw the beginning. I was going back and forth.
- 31:23Speaker 1: That was the afternoon game between that and a few
- 31:25Speaker 1: others like US and Oregon. So I didn't see all
- 31:27Speaker 1: of it. I just felt like ole Miss was up early,
- 31:29Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, I thought, Elise he was gonna
- 31:30Speaker 1: win this. And then I go back an hour later
- 31:32Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, Elis he was blowing them out. Well,
- 31:34Speaker 1: all Miss one up earlier. And I was like, I
- 31:35Speaker 1: told you, easy, easy, Pacy, ole Miss gonna win it.
- 31:38Speaker 1: And then I did the same thing. I was doing
- 31:40Speaker 1: some sound check at my show and I clicked back
- 31:42Speaker 1: and I was like, wait what yeh And and l
- 31:44Speaker 1: S you would run it up. Jane Daniel had two
- 31:46Speaker 1: un fift yards in the year Hunt twenty rushing and
- 31:48Speaker 1: they just they just big boy them in l S shoes.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I bet that place was a crazy that's a good game.
- 31:54Speaker 1: That's a good game for l S U. You know
- 31:56Speaker 1: they started pick last in the West or next to last,
- 31:58Speaker 1: depending on what you saw, and now they're a player.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That's a big win. I fell Obama gets beat again
- 32:04Speaker 1: by anybody. There's trouble in the West. I mean, any
- 32:06Speaker 1: of those teams can win it. U C l A Oregon,
- 32:09Speaker 1: Oregon whooped it and Bone next on crazy five touchdowns. Yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 1: they look awesome. The Texas Oklahoma State game to me, was.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I was watching a lot of that. Texas jumped up
- 32:18Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, here we go, easy peasy,
- 32:20Speaker 1: Texas gonna run away with it. And I guess I
- 32:24Speaker 1: missed a lot of the comeback because again I was working.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I was doing my show. Did you watch the second
- 32:30Speaker 1: half of the game? That was part of one of
- 32:31Speaker 1: the games I was flipping through, and then I left.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I think I went out and did something when Texas
- 32:36Speaker 1: was still up by a touchdown and they're in control
- 32:38Speaker 1: of the whole game, and I was like, Okay, they're
- 32:40Speaker 1: just gonna win this. They're gonna ride it out. And
- 32:42Speaker 1: then I jo I got to check out of the
- 32:43Speaker 1: game and I saw they lost. I was like, what,
- 32:45Speaker 1: how you didn't I didn't see them very I didn't
- 32:47Speaker 1: see the last half of the fourth quarter. Quarter really
- 32:50Speaker 1: went on fourteen points. I had. I only had it
- 32:52Speaker 1: on my ESPN app because we were doing sound check
- 32:54Speaker 1: and stuff, and I was like, they score, Oh god,
- 32:55Speaker 1: they scored again. So I didn't see the plays, but
- 32:58Speaker 1: I thought I thought it was over over. Texas jumped
- 33:00Speaker 1: up and we're holding it, and I was like this
- 33:02Speaker 1: easy beasy here. It wasn't though, and finally South Carolina
- 33:04Speaker 1: whoops up on Texas A and M in college station.
- 33:08Speaker 1: I mean the question that South Carolina it was, the
- 33:12Speaker 1: question is about Jimbo Fisher. I mean they just after
- 33:16Speaker 1: one year they gave him. They They're like, let's give
- 33:19Speaker 1: you an extension, Let's pay you all this money. What's
- 33:22Speaker 1: what's happening? Someone had a better record, not good. They
- 33:27Speaker 1: were ranked really high when the season started. They continue
- 33:30Speaker 1: to lose. They're not happy over there. Yeah, they spent
- 33:34Speaker 1: so much money to be good, and I don't think
- 33:36Speaker 1: that means they won't spend money. And they obviously have
- 33:39Speaker 1: the recruits we've talked about that problems are fresh, they're
- 33:41Speaker 1: they're young. Yeah, but yes, that is ugly. I mean
- 33:44Speaker 1: that the coaching is that, the culture is it. It's
- 33:47Speaker 1: a lot. There's something big there. Yeah, it's bad, very bad.
- 33:50Speaker 1: They are very unhappy. And it's South Carolina at Texas
- 33:54Speaker 1: A and m uh. Let me remind you. Twenty five
- 33:56Speaker 1: whistles brought to you by Draft Kings Sports Book, an

- 34:05Speaker 1: have not missed ever. So bad I mean, is brutal.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Its brutal all the way around. I hate himself that
- 34:11Speaker 1: Liberty game, though I was, I was keeping up with
- 34:13Speaker 1: that a little bit. That looked good for a long time.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I scored a bunch of points. Yeah, I I really
- 34:17Speaker 1: let you down. I'm a loser. I'm just a loser.
- 34:20Speaker 1: That is what it is. And I can't say anything
- 34:22Speaker 1: but put my tail between my legs and try to
- 34:24Speaker 1: get them next week. I got a good one next week, though,
- 34:27Speaker 1: I got a good one next week. It's frame smiles.

- 34:52Speaker 1: in Tennessee caller Texas, Tennessee redline one eight eight nine
- 34:57Speaker 1: nine in New York called eight seven seven eight hoping
- 34:59Speaker 1: why our text hoping y four six seven three six
- 35:02Speaker 1: nine there, Yo, let's talk NFL. Joe Burrow went off.
- 35:06Speaker 1: If you had him in your fantasy team, which I don't,
- 35:08Speaker 1: he scored fifty points in one of the leagues leagues. Yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 1: he threw for four and eight yards. I do have
- 35:14Speaker 1: Chase Chase one off to obviously the whole team. The
- 35:17Speaker 1: Bengals offensive line is starting to block, and what's starting
- 35:21Speaker 1: to happen is they're starting to get really good. So
- 35:25Speaker 1: the Bengals beat the Falcons. I it's the first time
- 35:26Speaker 1: the Falcons didn't cover all year, the first time. So
- 35:29Speaker 1: that I watched that, I loaded up on the Bengals
- 35:31Speaker 1: before the game. Did Yeah, I built pretty good about
- 35:33Speaker 1: that one. The Cowboys went again. I played okay, but
- 35:36Speaker 1: that's all they needed. I think, you know, if they
- 35:38Speaker 1: said I didn't have grip weird, they'd play him though. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 1: and you could tell it took a while for him
- 35:44Speaker 1: to really get into the swing of things. It's a
- 35:47Speaker 1: good game to bring him back. Let the defense do
- 35:50Speaker 1: their think. Golf sucks. You know, the Lions are not man.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I thought the Lions went eight or nine games. I
- 35:57Speaker 1: really was rooting for him. They still may win some games,
- 35:59Speaker 1: but they've had a lot it swift. I mean, Brown
- 36:01Speaker 1: went out with a concussion like second drive. But Cowboys six,
- 36:08Speaker 1: We'll take it. I just feel like they have a
- 36:09Speaker 1: tendency to get people back into soon. I remember Romo,
- 36:12Speaker 1: he would get hurt all the time, and then they
- 36:14Speaker 1: bring them back super quick, and then you keep getting hurt. Well,
- 36:17Speaker 1: the good news is if Dad goes down, you've got
- 36:20Speaker 1: a backup that his services that's better than serviceable. So
- 36:23Speaker 1: that's that's great news that you you know that if
- 36:26Speaker 1: Dad gets hurt again, you've got a guy that go
- 36:28Speaker 1: play games and not lose them. I'm not gonna say win.
- 36:31Speaker 1: You can go out and win a game if things
- 36:33Speaker 1: aren't going their way, but you can play games and
- 36:34Speaker 1: not lose the game. So Cowboys win. Titans beat the Colts.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Uh Colts offense. It's tough. That's a tough one. It's
- 36:43Speaker 1: a tough one. Titans hold on. Good for the Titans.
- 36:46Speaker 1: The Commanders just beat the Packers just beat him like
- 36:50Speaker 1: it was there was no like all bad luck all
- 36:52Speaker 1: game all. They should beat him and Heineke like he's
- 36:58Speaker 1: got some spunk. You do that because what we've seen
- 37:01Speaker 1: him play, we see him start a bunch of games.
- 37:03Speaker 1: He was good for them, Like you felt like they
- 37:05Speaker 1: were playing motivated. Yeah, and I feel like the players
- 37:07Speaker 1: like him so much more. McLarin goes off every time
- 37:10Speaker 1: he's in. Yeah. So the Packers offense struggles. He doesn't
- 37:13Speaker 1: have Lazard was that went out of the game, got
- 37:16Speaker 1: was hurt. And it's not like Rogers has the greatest
- 37:19Speaker 1: receiving corps over there anyway. But the Commanders just played well,
- 37:23Speaker 1: you know, Heineke won the game. Defense played pretty. They
- 37:26Speaker 1: didn't have their full Wait till the whole defense gets
- 37:28Speaker 1: back for the Commanders. Yeah, it's Chase Young. He saw
- 37:30Speaker 1: I wasn't even played yet, and I'm not saying wait,
- 37:32Speaker 1: isn't wait for the Super Bowl change, They're going to
- 37:34Speaker 1: be a little better. Yeah, I get it. The Bucks, Oh,
- 37:37Speaker 1: Tom Brady looked like he was skipping rocks to receivers.
- 37:40Speaker 1: It's ugly. Like you played the Panthers after they trade
- 37:43Speaker 1: their best player. They got a bat third string quarterback
- 37:47Speaker 1: and they lose an interim head coach. They lose and
- 37:51Speaker 1: bad three point three. The Panthers whooped up on Brady
- 37:57Speaker 1: and the Bucks and they only I think they had
- 38:00Speaker 1: under fift yards rushing the Bucks did. Yeah, I think
- 38:03Speaker 1: maybe i'd like eighteen is the ugly one. You think
- 38:06Speaker 1: it's a mental thing at all for Tom Brady, I
- 38:09Speaker 1: mean the easy answers, Yeah, of course I don't. I
- 38:12Speaker 1: don't know because he's been through a lot of I mean,
- 38:13Speaker 1: he's been doing this for so long, it's such a
- 38:15Speaker 1: high level. I'm sure he's had a lot of personal
- 38:18Speaker 1: things happened while he's playing. People have died, so it's
- 38:21Speaker 1: easy to go as going through a divorce. But I'm
- 38:24Speaker 1: not going to lean on just that because I think
- 38:27Speaker 1: over the sample size of his career, he's probably had
- 38:29Speaker 1: some really disastrous things happen, and he's played pretty good.
- 38:32Speaker 1: So I don't know. I don't know anyway anything, but
- 38:36Speaker 1: I don't know, and I don't want to just go
- 38:37Speaker 1: as a divorce that's the easy thing to do. But
- 38:39Speaker 1: he's also had some is that people die like people
- 38:42Speaker 1: is close to in seasons and still played well. So yeah,
- 38:46Speaker 1: that was a weird one. It was wild. That's a
- 38:48Speaker 1: weird one of my buddies took it in their suicide league,
- 38:51Speaker 1: which is every week you pick a game. Let's say
- 38:54Speaker 1: you picked the Cowboys in week one. They now he
- 38:56Speaker 1: lost a bad example. Let's just say they picked the
- 38:58Speaker 1: Cowboys and the Cowboys win. You can never pick the
- 38:59Speaker 1: Cowboy again all season, right, so then you gotta pick
- 39:01Speaker 1: a different team to win. As long as you keep winning,
- 39:03Speaker 1: you keep going. When it's over, you went all the
- 39:05Speaker 1: money and so there's only like four people left for
- 39:08Speaker 1: some decent money. You picked the Bucks. Thought it was
- 39:09Speaker 1: an easy win. I mean, don't blame him. Giants win.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I mean, if se quansta is healthy and Daniel Jones
- 39:16Speaker 1: learns to slide in the defense, Evanil he went out
- 39:20Speaker 1: with like a little, a little issue. I think they're
- 39:23Speaker 1: maybe two weeks or so so that I read this morning,
- 39:26Speaker 1: possibly being injured the right tackle. Yeah, I did see
- 39:29Speaker 1: he was down. I didn't see anything after that. Um
- 39:32Speaker 1: so yeah, Giants six and one. Yeah, it's crazy. Uh.
- 39:37Speaker 1: The Ravens beat the Browns, which that game was pretty good.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Lamartin throw for a whole bunch is a pretty ugly game.
- 39:45Speaker 1: But a win's a win, especially in the conference. Jets
- 39:48Speaker 1: went again. Broncos suck and the Raiders beat the Texans
- 39:52Speaker 1: and the Raiders needed that win. That's two wins now
- 39:54Speaker 1: for the Raiders. And you know a team that was
- 39:57Speaker 1: supposed to be really good, oh, the Chargers. Was the
- 39:59Speaker 1: game of gonna mention to the Chargers. They ended up losing. Yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 1: I got what by the Chiefs. Defense is good, but
- 40:06Speaker 1: the Chiefs they're just they're unstoppable. They put it on them,
- 40:09Speaker 1: They're unstoppable. It doesn't matter. Okay, you wanna you wanna
- 40:12Speaker 1: guard kel Okay, well, let's get hard man, Let's stall
- 40:14Speaker 1: the ball, Let's let him score, Let's let him run it,
- 40:16Speaker 1: Let's let him score. And then Juju looks good. Yeah,
- 40:18Speaker 1: he looks healthy, big, strong, fast. It was definitely a
- 40:24Speaker 1: domination and not where you go out. The Forders aren't
- 40:27Speaker 1: that good? You go ye are good? But godly? Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 40:31Speaker 1: it's one of those forty nighters got blown up. Bere
- 40:32Speaker 1: like they'll be okay, second to the four is gonna
- 40:35Speaker 1: be a lot better because Kittle caught a bunch of balls.
- 40:38Speaker 1: That offense got to open up a little bit because
- 40:40Speaker 1: they have a running back now and what he's fifty year,
- 40:43Speaker 1: he had about fifty yards and I'm not sure there,
- 40:45Speaker 1: but even then, like he was some splash plays. He
- 40:49Speaker 1: doesn't know the offense. McCaffrey is gonna make him good.
- 40:52Speaker 1: It's it's all on Jimmy g. Yes, it's all on
- 40:56Speaker 1: Jimmy g getting the ball to those weapons easily and
- 40:59Speaker 1: not turn the ball over. Yeah, not taking a sad
- 41:01Speaker 1: McCaffrey is gonna make a little easy. It's gonna open
- 41:02Speaker 1: up for him a little bit for sure. Okay, Mike,
- 41:05Speaker 1: you can hit. The song is a short little rekend.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna draw for your new coach, Kevin, let's do it,
- 41:09Speaker 1: Michael jealousy got one. Yeah, and cal lost again. Did
- 41:14Speaker 1: you see the interview with Marson on live TV. No,
- 41:17Speaker 1: he's on cussing up a storm on TV at the Calame, Kevin,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I just do this one. You have, you know, possibly attainable.
- 41:28Speaker 1: You have mikea leach Mississippis day. Oh if we can
- 41:31Speaker 1: get him gosh. Okay, So if you're new to this show,
- 41:37Speaker 1: we all we're randomly drawing out coaches and whoever can
- 41:40Speaker 1: book the most. When's the cash and coach Biember was
- 41:45Speaker 1: on today, which is awesome, Mike leeches next, Let's see
- 41:49Speaker 1: what you can do. Let's do it. I'm excited we
- 41:52Speaker 1: get that. Guy's a sound bite waiting to happen. Mike,
- 41:54Speaker 1: He's awesome. All right, that's it. Thank you. I hope
- 41:57Speaker 1: you have a great week. We'll catch you. I don't
- 41:59Speaker 1: know if we're doing Have Time show this week or not.
- 42:00Speaker 1: It depends on where mouth surgery goes. But we'll for
- 42:02Speaker 1: sure see a Friday and that would be it. You guys,
- 42:05Speaker 1: have a good day by everybody. Oh wait, below whistle
- 42:09Speaker 1: or now? I know it's just that. I mean, it's
- 42:11Speaker 1: just the catch up show, but I feel like we're
- 42:13Speaker 1: all in here. We blow the whistle, Yeah, all right,
- 42:16Speaker 1: that starts the show. All right, that ends the show perfect.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I follow us at twenty whistles by everybody,
