Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I am Mickey, I'm your host, and joining me today is Bethany, our co-host.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm super excited to be here.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Bethany and I have been talking all morning about the Word of God and about the truth and about scripture.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And it's just been wonderful spending time with Bethany today.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And today we're excited to continue on with a series that we started called Are You Ready for Eternity?
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: I almost said Are You Thirsty, but Are You Ready for Eternity?
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: That's the topic of this conversation today.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: We started already with one episode.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: And today we're going to dive in and talk about something a little bit deeper and something that we just want to bring to everyone's attention.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And it's not necessarily to um bring fear or cause anyone to doubt their salvation, but it is something that's very important when it comes to thinking about eternity.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I've been to churches where we talk about eternity, but this part of eternity is overlooked and sometimes not often talked about.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So that's a meaning that I decided that we're going to put our heads together and we're going to talk about it just because it's in the Bible and God wants us to know about it.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: And it's an episode that just kind of wants us to raise the flag of awareness as to how we're walking in our salvation, what we're doing.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And not only just for ourselves as believers, but also for non-believers, for people that are not sure where they're going and what they're doing.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: This is going to be a really good message that hopefully will shine some light and um bring some clarity to where are we going to go when we pass away?
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: What happens in the end when we have to start thinking about what's after the life that we're living right now?
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, welcome in.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Do you want to come in and give us a recap of um our last episode and um start us off with some prayer today?
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Wonderful to be here.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And so on our last episode where we started to ask the question of, are you ready for eternity?
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: And we dived in a bit to just, you know, getting getting your senses sort of peak and um helping you understand that there is going to come a day when eternity will begin for every person.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: There are no discriminations, every person has to face eternity, and I don't say that to make you afraid or anything like that.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: I just say that because it is the truth, and so we looked at that, um, and I believe I did bring up, you know, the really the urgency of um being ready because there are times when you can go through life and you know not really think about eternity, and then something may happen, and you're there.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: And so let the last episode, previous episode, we just talked about the urgency and that, and so today's episode is continuing on that.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Today's episode is giving a distinction between what the place called hell is, and the place, the future place that is called the Lake of Fire, what those two places are and the difference between them, and so I think this will be an informative episode for you, maybe even a convicting episode, but remember it's the Holy Spirit who brings conviction.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: And so if you're if you do feel convicted, ask the Lord what he has for you, as in any of our other episodes.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Ask the Lord what he has for you to get from this episode.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And so before we get into this, let's pray.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Once again for being here right now.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Lord, you are always faithful, you are always ready to show your power and show what each person needs who is watching or listening to this.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And so I pray, Lord, that you would do that once again.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Show your power, show yourself to everyone listening, so that they understand what this episode is all about the truth that may not be heard as much as it should be.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: And so I thank you, Lord, for what you will do through this episode, what you will do through Mickey and I, as we discuss this, we give you all the praise and glory for what you will do.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Lord, in Jesus' name.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And so as we start today, we're going to be looking at a few different passages of scripture that, like I said, give us the distinction between hell, the actual place called hell, and the lake of fire.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: And the first passage we're going to look at is Luke Chapter sixteen, starting in verse twenty-two through verse twenty-four, and these three verses are included within a longer passage of verse nineteen through verse thirty-one of Luke sixteen.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: We may highlight some of those verses in future episodes, but today we're just focusing on verses twenty two through twenty four.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: But I would also encourage you just to read um the whole passage to gain an understanding of these three verses, and so starting with verse 22, and once again, Luke chapter 16 is Jesus during his public ministry here on earth.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: This is one of his teaching times to his disciples and those who were around during that time.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: And so verse 22.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: The rich man also died and was buried.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Verse 23.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: And in hell he lifts up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Verse 24.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy upon me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: And again, these are only three of the verses in this passage.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And yet, how descriptive are they of this literal place called hell?
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Hell is a real place.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Back in Genesis.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Because there was no need for it.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Why was there no need?
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Because there was no sin.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: And that's a whole nother discussion that we will get into in future episodes.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: But realize that the place called hell and the place called the light the fire, which is future, which is permanent.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: And I don't mean to sound um fear-mongering or anything like that.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: I just want you to understand that these are real places.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: And these verses here in Louis 16.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Again, they're very descriptive.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Verse twenty-two verse words of that verse and in hell he lifted up his eyes.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: Being in torments.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: So hell.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: A place called hell is nowhere for anyone to be.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: And I believe we're we are going to notice later on in this episode.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: Who is the actual recipient?
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Well who is the actual recipient of the like a fire?
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Who was who were those things actually created for?
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: I think we might look at those verses later.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: But so understand that and also verse 23 talks about verse 22 talks about how he saw Abraham afar off.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: So the rich man who died.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: We need to be ready.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: If you're not a Christian, you really want to spend eternity in the light of fire.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Do you really want to spend time if you die before eternity starts?
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: Do you really want to spend time in hell?
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: In the little place of hell.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Where there's flames.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Where I can probably safely guarantee you that it gets hotter in hell.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: The physical place of hell than it is in any of the wildfires.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And like I say, I think Mickey can attest to at least some of the wildfire activity.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: So I'm just trying to encourage you to be ready because like we said in the last episode.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Once eternity starts, that's it.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: And so I will um see if Mickey has any thoughts on this.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, talking about hell in the lake of fire, um, like I mentioned before we started recording, um, understanding the two different terminologies.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: Hell being a temporal place where we go when we die, before we have to stand before the Lord on Judgment Day.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Um, it's our eternal place up to judgment day.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: And then once we hit judgment day, then then we get cast into the lake of fire as um those that are in hell.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: The people that are in hell.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: There are people in hell right now, I believe.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Firmly believe that there's lots of people in hell, sadly.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Um it makes me sad sometimes when we when we lose somebody in our life and we have there's a death in our life, and we we give them the burial and and we um say the prayer and we we we we uh we make the assumption that they are going to heaven right away.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: And we want that for everyone.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, that is our goal, ultimate goal.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: But in the end, we will we will not know until judgment day um who will be where at the end.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: And again, not to be, like you said, a fear-mongering, but um, it is something that we should be thinking about for ourselves and for our loved ones and people that we care about.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Um hell is a real place, the lake of fire is a real place.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Um I I myself and I've heard other people talk about hell nonchalantly like it's just whatever.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, you're going to hell.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Don't speak that over anyone.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Don't say that to someone.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: For one, we have no authority to send anyone to hell.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Only God does.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Only God gets only God knows a person inside and out who they are truly.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: We do not.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: We do not get to decide that.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: We may see some things that a person is doing that may make us assume that they may be headed for hell, and it might be wise to share Jesus with them to see if they're they they have um truly um asked Jesus into their heart and become saved and um they are secure in their salvation.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Salvation is the only thing that keeps you from hell, or the lake fire, by the way.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: Which we did talk about that in our last episode, and we will continue to talk about that going forward.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: And so when I think about hell, hell being the temporary place, that doesn't mean on judgment day we get to get out of hell.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: We get to stand in front of God by ourselves, all alone.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Nobody beside us, next to us, batting for us, saying, Oh, that person was a good person, that person did this, that person did that.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: There's no possible way that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Person could go to hell.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: The only thing that keeps a person from going to hell is Jesus Christ.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And I know we talked about that in the last episode, but I want to just come like I want us to completely and continue to emphasize what is going to keep us literally from hell.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: And that is Jesus.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Because he paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of the sins that we've ever committed and will commit.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Because unfortunately, in the beginning there was no sin, but then sin entered in.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: So because of that sin, we were no longer more mortal.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: We were bound to death.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Adam and Eve were bound to death because of the sin that was that was brought to the earth.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: We get to choose, though.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: God gave us a free will to choose where we want to go.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: We actually get to choose.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Now that doesn't mean we get to behave and discredit who Jesus is and say, well, I just don't want to go to hell.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: It's not something that we get to say like that.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: We we need to be very mindful and careful and understand the true meaning behind heaven and hell and the lake of fire.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: I know Bethany's going to dive into the next scripture, which is going to explain the difference between Christian and non-Christians where we go when we die.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: A lot of people will make the assumption that we just go into the ground or that we just if our ashes are, you know, spread, then they're just they're spread out there wherever, you know.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Um in the next scripture, I know Bethany and myself, we will explain the difference between um going to heaven and going to hell.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Well, it'll it'll make a little bit more sense.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: But I just want you to have an understanding that what Bethany said about the lake of fire and the pit of hell, they are real places.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: This is Jesus speaking, he's telling this story.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: And it's only three scriptures, and and it's it's it's a kind of a scary thought.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Like he literally, the rich man is just wants Lazarus to give him a drop of water because his tongue is on fire.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: His tongue is burning so bad.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: It's so horrible.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: It's torture, it's torment, and it's a continual torture.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: It does not stop.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: We don't just drop into hell and we get tortured for a few minutes and then we're done.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: It's an eternal torturing.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Hell is temporary, but the torturing is not.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: The only thing temporal about hell is judgment day.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: Because then you're going to stand before God.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: And everyone else that's either known you or didn't know you or seen you or met you or even worked side by side with you, went to church with you, went on mission trips with you, or whatever it is that you've done in your lifetime, if you're truly not saved and have Jesus Christ in your heart, all of that doesn't mean anything.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, it doesn't mean anything.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: I could be a good person all day long and still be going to hell if I don't have Jesus.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: And one thing Bethany said that I wanted to bring to this episode, which is was very, very good and very clear, was the one thing that leads us to hell more than anything is the disbelief in Jesus Christ.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And Satan is the tempter of that disbelief.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: He is the one who teases and entices and literally convinces people that you're not saved.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: So salvation has to be something that we work out on our own.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: It's an individual, one-on-one relationship with Jesus Christ.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: And I've heard people say, well, why do I need Jesus to get to heaven?
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: You cannot get in without him.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: He is your ticket, he is your key, he is your everything.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: He died and sacrificed so that you could have eternal life in heaven and not have to even face hell.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, let's dive into the next scripture because I know that it's gonna lead us where we're where we're headed today.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: So the next um scripture is Second Corinthians Chapter Five I think I think for the episode here right now.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: Sorry, verses six and verse eight, and also verse ten.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: But this is another one of those like Luke sixteen, where it's wise for you to just read.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Read all chapter five, honestly, because it gives um good perspective, good context as well.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: But again, for the recording here, I'm just starting with verse six.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: And by the way, this chapter is talking to those who are Christians, those who are saved, those who have repented of their sins and received Jesus as Savior.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: And so verse six.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Therefore, we are always confident, knowing that whilst we are in we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: Verse 8, we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: And then verse 10.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that he had done, whether it be good or bad.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: So we see there in those verses for for Christians how to be absent from a body when we physically die is when we're present with the Lord.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: No, the body stays, our physical body stays at physical death, the soul and the spirit are those things that are present with the Lord.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: And just as when someone who is not yet a Christian dies, their body stays, but they're so not spirit.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: I personally believe that those things are the things that go to hell when someone who is not a Christian dies.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: The judgment seat of Christ is the final judgment for Christians.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: The Great White Throne judgment is the judgment that will be for non-Christians, those who do not receive Jesus as savior, those who do not repent of their sins and become Christians.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: And so we might do an episode on the distinction between those two things as well.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: But today we're just talking about um hell and the lake of fire and also including for perspective's sake, I believe um who and when so Mickey, what are your thoughts on that passage?
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: Because it I do believe it's a great passage um to encourage us with.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Um I I like that it's very very bold, black and white, clear.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: There's no room for any miscuity in it because the clarity is there when it says um that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: So those are the things that we have to stand before the judgment throne with.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: Whether you're a believer or a non-believer, that applies as well.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Although when we're standing before the judgment seat, when we repent, repentance is key when we talk about salvation, repentance.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: When we repent, that sin or whatever we've done is no longer there.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: But if we after we're saved, if we if we don't continue to repent, and we continue to sin, which we do continue to sin, this is where there's some confusion with salvation, repentance, heaven and hell, I believe.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: I think that this is where the spectrum is.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: When we continue to sin, that doesn't mean God just yanks our salvation card away from us and says, You sinned, you you prayed it and you prayed the prayer, now you're going the other way.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: I don't believe that's the case.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Um, like we talked, we talked in depth about this before we started recording it.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: Um, the judgment seat is the things that we do not repent for after salvation.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: This is for the for the believer, not the non-believer.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: After salvation, the things that we are going to be judged for are the things that we have not yet repented for.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: That's why it's really a good idea in your prayer life that repentance is a key factor in your prayer life.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: It's not a ticket necessarily, but to go do whatever you want.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: It's not a free ride ticket.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: So I'm just gonna go repent, I'm just gonna go repent.
- 35:04SPEAKER_00: We need to be working out our salvation and working through it.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: But if we do mess up, God knows it, we need to fess up.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: When you mess up, you fess up.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: I I say, you know, I tell my kids this if you mess up, just fess up.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be in more trouble if you don't, right?
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Isn't that what we say?
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: And with God, that is a true fact.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: If we mess up and we don't fess up to God, we're gonna be in trouble for that on the judgment seat.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: We're gonna answer to God for that behavior, for that, whatever it is we've done to our bodies, whatever it is we've done in our actions and our words, and and whatever it is that we've done, good or bad, it's brought to the throne of judgment, to Christ's judgment.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: Meaning Christ is the only thing that gets us out of hell out of the lake of fire if we have Christ on judgment, on the judgment seat.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: Now, non-believers, you can be good or bad all day long.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: If you don't have Christ, it's not going to make a difference on judgment day.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: That's why there is a lake of fire.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be taken out of hell, you're gonna stand before God, and he's gonna explain to you who the Son of God is, which is Jesus Christ.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: That's why it says the Christ or the judgment seat of who?
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Christ.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: It says that for a reason.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: You're going to be put against the seat of Christ, meaning you either have Christ or you don't have Christ.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: And if you don't have Christ, that's why you're in hell.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: Or going, and that's why you're going to the lake of fire.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: Whether no matter what you've done in your lifetime, if you don't have that, it's so vitally important to understand that.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: And for Christians, having Christ is vital because Jesus already went to the cross to pay for the sins that we we have and are going to do.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: Even for non-believers, but you have to you have to have Christ.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: Christ is the blood that covers the sin.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: See, when God looks at you, if you're covered by the blood, he can't see the sin if it's repented for.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: If you don't have Christ's blood, all he sees is sin.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: And he knows that he sent us a savior so that we could have eternal life.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Jesus is our eternal key to heaven.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: There's nothing else.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: He sacrificed everything so that we could have that blood of protection over us.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Kind of like back in the day when they used to put the blood over the over the door, that was the same type of blood, but Jesus came in in the physical flesh as a son of God to die for us.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: So even if we're good or even when we're good and bad, even if we, as non-believers, go on the judgment seat and say, But I've been a good person.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: You could be good or bad.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: If that blood is not there, you're still bound for the lake of fire.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, that's just the way this is this is, okay?
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: Because of what God did, sending his son for us when we stand before God.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: When we get saved and we have that cushion on us, we have to repent of the sin, or or when we go to the judgment seat of Christ, we have to explain to God why did we continue in sin, knowing what Christ did for us, if we didn't ask for that forgiveness and repent of it.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: So I hope that makes some kind of sense.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: I don't want to cause any um confusion with it.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: But going back to the lake of fire and the pit of hell being two places that are very real.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: One being temporal and one being indefinite.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Eternal for eternal for eternal.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: Hell is temporary, but the lake of fire is not.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Now you might ask this question: if I end up going to hell and I go to the judgment seat, can I go to heaven?
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Fortunately, it doesn't work that way.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: The time is the time that God gave us here, right now, to make those decisions.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: That's why it says, as on earth as it is in heaven, we need to behave and act according to what Jesus did for us because Jesus came to earth to bring salvation.
- 39:53SPEAKER_00: If that makes sense.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: I hope that's making sense.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: So when Jesus comes to earth for our salvation, it starts on earth.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: We don't get to go before God and then ask, hey, can I can I go to heaven now?
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: It just kind of doesn't work that way because Jesus already came to us here and died for us here.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: That's why when we die here in the physical realm that we're in, our flesh dies, our soul and our spirit do not.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: They're going to transcend somewhere.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: Where do you want your soul to transcend?
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself this.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: It's important.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: The biggest mistake people make is not believing in Jesus Christ.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: The ultimate sin is not believing in Jesus Christ above any other sin out there.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: That is the ultimate sin.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: You cannot have any other God, you cannot have anything other than our God, who is the King of kings and the Lord of Lord, and that's Jesus Christ.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: He's the Son of God.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: He sits at the right hand of God.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: We need to understand that.
- 41:03SPEAKER_00: We don't want to say and scare you and be like, man, you're going to hell.
- 41:09SPEAKER_00: Then you're going to go to the lake of fire for the rest of your entire life.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: And you think, you think that rich man was begging for Lazarus, Lazarus to come down, just give him one drop of water so his mouth would stop burning.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: He we can see from hell.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: People that are in hell right now are seeing the mistakes that they made over and over and over and over again.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: It's a recording that they're never going to forget for the rest of their life.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: You can't wait till you get to hell to try to make a decision.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: The decision has to be made now.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: The time is now, and time is short.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: The fires Bethany is talking about, they're all over the world right now.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: They're all over the world.
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: Some of them are close by me.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: Right now, I personally am not being affected by an actual fire, but I am being affected by the residual smoke from the fire.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: It's almost unbreathable at times.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: It's choking people.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: People, you walk out, your eyes are burning, your nose is running, your ears hurt, your head hurts.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: The smoke is very, very, very dense, thick.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: It's hard to breathe.
- 42:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: It's going to be harder in hell.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: And it's going to be a lot hotter.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: You think your eyes are burning here on earth around the smoke?
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: When you get to hell, way worse.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: And even then, some the lake of fire.
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the lake of fire.
- 42:36SPEAKER_00: When you go there, it's going to be even worse than that.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Which you can't even think that that anything could be worse than hell.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: The lake of fire is worse than hell.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: We don't want to say this to scare anyone, but I'm going to tell you right now, it says in the end times after Noah.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: Noah came, God destroyed the earth with water.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: He said this time it's going to be with what?
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: Fire.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: Fire.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: And rightfully so, because we are living in very wicked and evil times right now.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: And God has had enough.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: He is fed up.
- 43:14SPEAKER_00: If we thought Sodom and Gomorrah was bad back in the Bible days, it's way worse.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: Way worse now.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: And we have accepted it, we have allowed it, and we have overlooked it.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: And we have to be very careful.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: We better figure out who this Jesus is that we're talking about today, right now.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: Or we are headed, unfortunately, right for hell if we die before Jesus comes back or for the lake of fire.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: The only thing that'll keep you from seeing hell before you die is if Jesus comes back first.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: And there will be a lot of people that get to see Jesus return.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: And I believe a lot of people are going to go right to the judgment, right to the judgment line and be cast into the lake of fire.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: We don't want that for you.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: Bethany and I don't want that for you.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: We have a longing and a burden in our hearts for people to understand and know who Jesus Christ is.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: We're telling you about hell and the lake of fire because we want you to know that this is a real place.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Like walking out your front door and going over to your neighbor's house.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: It's a real place.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: We want you to understand that.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: And as Bethany continues to share scripture and give you the illustrations that she's going to be sharing with you, it's important that you listen and you understand.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: Because without Jesus, that's exactly where so many people are going right now.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are going, and a lot of people are choosing to go there.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: When Satan was cast down onto earth, well, he wasn't called Satan back then, but when he was, he was the most glorified angel.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: And he he he got sent down to earth.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: One third of all the angels went.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: How many on earth do you think are gonna make it back up to heaven that didn't that didn't side with the enemy?
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: I have a feeling it's gonna be a little more than one-third.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: This go around.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know that it mentions the number for sure.
- 45:36SPEAKER_00: A lot of people think it's the 144,000 that are only going.
- 45:40SPEAKER_00: I disagree with that.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: I do believe that there are going to be those from those nations and those tribes are going to be um brought up because the word says that.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: But we are all have an opportunity to be saved and know who Jesus Christ is.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, I'm gonna let you continue on and and and dive in with the next scripture that we have.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: Um, so hopefully we can explain it to where we're really penetrating um hearts and people's thoughts and their minds today because it's so it's it's vitally important.
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: It's really vitally important.
- 46:19SPEAKER_00: You could step out of your house right now, get in your car and get in a wreck and die if you are not right with God.
- 46:25SPEAKER_00: Where are you gonna go?
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: That is the question Bethany and I are asking you.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: When we're asking you, are you ready for eternity?
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: You need to know if you're ready right now.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: Don't wait.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: We we said last week, don't wait.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: Don't wait.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: It says to be ready in and out of season.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: We talked about that last week as well.
- 46:45SPEAKER_00: Be prepared right now, get prepared.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: You can get prepared right now.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: You don't have to wait.
- 46:51SPEAKER_00: And I I would advise you not to.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: And I think Bethany would agree with that.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: So go ahead, Bethany.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: I'll let you let you take over.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: So now as we shift over to talking about the lake of fire.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: And let's notice Revelation chapter twenty, starting with verse thirteen, going through verse fifteen.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: And again, this is another chapter where it builds on itself.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: Um, and so I would encourage you to take time, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what he has for you, and so starting in verse 13, and the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them, and they were judged every man according to their works.
- 48:29SPEAKER_01: Verse 14, and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: This is the second death, and verse 15.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: Take some time and really think about that.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: Read these verses for yourself, and again ask the Holy Spirit to show you what he wants you to see.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: Not only is death and hell cast into the lake of fire.
- 49:42SPEAKER_01: But verse fifteen says all those who were not found written in the book of life were cast into the lake of fire, Luke sixteen, those verses they give give us a glimpse of what the little place of hell is like.
- 50:21SPEAKER_01: And here in Revelation, talking about the lake of fire, and talking about that hell will be cast in to the lake of fire.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: Um, it sounds like the lake of fire is not going to be anything at all.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Deserves and the lake of fire is not just for a day or a week or a month or a year.
- 51:22SPEAKER_01: The lake of fire is timeless.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: There's no time frame.
- 51:31SPEAKER_01: It's for all eternity.
- 51:41SPEAKER_01: So I encourage you if you or someone you know, your family, your friends, whoever if they are not yet right now, today.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: Do you really want to spend eternity in the light of fire?
- 52:16SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry for that.
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: Sounds like a harsh question.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: Honestly, just trying to help.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Just trying to help people.
- 52:38SPEAKER_01: Take time and just focus on what is after this life again.
- 52:57SPEAKER_01: Two eternal places.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: Heaven for Christians and a lake of fire for those who are not Christians.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: No time on them.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: And I think sometimes that is hard for us to understand because here we're bound by time.
- 53:45SPEAKER_01: Again, eternity either in heaven or in the lake of fire.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: No time frame.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: You can't say, Oh, the lake of fire is going to be done next year, or five years from now, or ten years from now, or the amazing thing is that we're gonna notice Second Peter chapter three, verse nine, where Jesus talks about that God is not willing that any should perish.
- 54:40SPEAKER_01: But that all should come to repentance.
- 54:48SPEAKER_01: There's no one excluded from that.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: Not even the person that their outward actions are just so ungodly, and all of that.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: Not even them is excluded from God's invitation.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: And so as you can probably tell, I'm quite passionate about this.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: But that's because one of my heart's greatest desires is to help you be ready.
- 55:36SPEAKER_01: Be ready.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Because we don't know.
- 55:42SPEAKER_01: Only God knows.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: And so, Mickey, do you have thoughts on this?
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: I want to, I I want to jump back to Revelations 20, 13 through 15, the the part where it talks about um giving up their dead for judgment based on their works.
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: Let me share another quick scripture with you um before we go into closing because this this episode is going a little long, but um in Matthew 7 and um verse, we get to it here.
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: Just had it.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: Um 23.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, we'll start with 21.
- 56:30SPEAKER_00: Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father, which is in heaven, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name?
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: And in the name or and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works.
- 56:53SPEAKER_00: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work inequity.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: So the work that they're talking about in Revelation 20, 13 through 15, I believe, is the exact same works he's talking about in this scripture in Matthew 7.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: It's the same works that gets us gets people that um are not saved cast into hell.
- 57:16SPEAKER_00: I strongly encourage you, even as a Christian, there there will be Christians that say they're Christians that are not Christians that are going to go to hell as well.
- 57:26SPEAKER_00: And I and that makes me sad.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: Um because we're proclaiming Christ, but we're really not.
- 57:32SPEAKER_00: We're actually proclaiming Christ because we want the benefit of what Christ will do for us.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: Um, we do the work because we want the pat on the back.
- 57:43SPEAKER_00: We do the work because we want the acknowledgement, we want the reward.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: The reward isn't for us.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: Our reward is eternity.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: It's not what we're gonna gain here on earth.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: And if you're doing the work of the Lord to seek what you can get out of what this earth has to offer, you're doomed.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: You're in trouble, you're you're in a very dangerous position.
- 58:08SPEAKER_00: And I want to explain it in a way, hopefully, that people understand, because I know there are people that are claiming to be Christians that are going to go to hell with the non-believers.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, and the reason that is, is because you're doing the work of the Lord so that you can gain the benefit here on earth.
- 58:30SPEAKER_00: You're missing the boat.
- 58:31SPEAKER_00: The benefit that you want to gain is eternal life with Jesus Christ, spending eternity in heaven with Jesus.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: If you're doing the work, if you're if you're if Bethany and I are just sharing the word of God with you because we want God to give us all of his glory and riches and fame and all of this stuff here on earth, her and I are doomed.
- 58:53SPEAKER_00: We're doomed for that.
- 58:56SPEAKER_00: And so it's it's it's definitely, I know it's my heart's desire, I know it's Bethany's heart's desire.
- 59:02SPEAKER_00: That our our goal is to, like Bethany said, help you understand so that you don't end up in hell.
- 59:10SPEAKER_00: We don't want to go to hell.
- 59:12SPEAKER_00: So I'm definitely not gonna do all of this work.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: So I'm not gonna get rewarded by anybody that's listening to this podcast.
- 59:20SPEAKER_00: It's not for my glory that I'm even speaking to this podcast or doing this podcast.
- 59:25SPEAKER_00: It's for his glory.
- 59:27SPEAKER_00: And if I'm doing it for any other reason than that, then I'm doing it for the work and the accreditation that comes with it that I'm wanting or needing or hoping to gain from it, that doesn't glorify God.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: Me getting a brownie button for coming on here and sharing God's word doesn't glorify God.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: God getting a soul left out of hell, that glorifies God.
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: So when we're talking about Revelation 20 and we're talking about the works, it's the same works as in Matthew 7.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_00: It's the works of inequity.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: And so I encourage you, as we're talking about this, and we're gonna end up doing another episode because we're running out of time, but as I uh as we go into closing up, is that um we cannot do God's work for him as far as if I go out and I prophesy, if if it's a lie, then I'm gonna be in trouble.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: If I'm doing the work so that I can get an extra paycheck, because I want to go on a vacation, I uh you gotta be careful how you're doing the work.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_00: God doesn't care if we have money, God doesn't care if we have things, as long as he's getting the glory from it.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_00: If it's all because of what we want, what we're gonna get out of it, our gain, our gain, our gain, and nothing for him to gain in the kingdom of heaven, then we're we're in big trouble.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_00: We have to be careful.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_00: And for some reason, when Bethany was reading Revelation 20 and discussing their works, their works are the dead, the death and the dead that are in hell, that are gonna be risen up, their works meant nothing to God.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we think if I work harder, if I work harder, if I do this, if I do this, if I do this, then it's gonna, it'll be better for me.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_00: It'll be better for me.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_00: It's not me that we should be doing, it's not me who I should be doing the work for.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_00: If I'm doing God's work, it's not for me, it's for God.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_00: And we sometimes take our eyes off from God and we bring the glorification back down to us.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: Please be careful.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_00: And I only say this because I've done it.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_00: I've been guilty of this.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_00: I want it to be acknowledged.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_00: I wanted to be people to say, oh my gosh, what a good little Christian she is.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_00: No, what a bad, what a bad Christian I was being.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_00: When I started dissecting the scripture, again, this is why we this this podcast is called Truth Be Told, because we want to share the word of God with you and share what the word says.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_00: It's not my word that's gonna matter.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_00: It's what Jesus says in this word.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_00: It says, Depart from me, ye that work inequity.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_00: I don't ever want Jesus to say that to me ever.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_00: Ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_00: And if I'm doing what Jesus wants me to do for him and for the glory of God, I don't ever have to worry about that.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_00: So I encourage you, if you are a non-Christian, or if you think you are a Christian, but you are actually walking out your salvation for yourself, please be very careful.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_00: Because those are the things, like it says in Revelations, that take you to hell, you end up in hell, and you're gonna be in that sea of death.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_00: And none of us, none of us want to go there.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_00: I don't want to go there, and I don't want anyone that I love or care about to go there either.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_00: We should be caring about people enough to tell people who Jesus is and tell people how to how to be able to keep themselves from going to hell or the lake of fire.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_00: And doing the works of the Lord is great if you're doing the works for the Lord.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_00: If you're doing it for yourself, that's where you end up in hell.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: So make sure you understand that, that there's some clarity.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_00: And I don't know why God's speaking to me through this scripture, but it's so important because we do claim that we prophesy, we do claim that we cast out devils, we do claim that we've done many wonderful things for God.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_00: I don't do that anymore.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: I used to, I used to claim all kinds of stuff for God.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: It wasn't my claim to have, by the way.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_00: So be careful what you're claiming.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_00: If you're claiming it for yourself, you could be in danger.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: It could be a dangerous territory.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_00: And again, I it's gonna open this episode up, it's gonna open this series up to more discussion because this is very important that we understand the scripture so that we we know what can pull us into hell and what can keep us from hell.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_00: And I don't think sometimes that we pay attention to it when we're walking on our daily walk sometimes.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_00: And yes, we're gonna mess up.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_00: If we mess up, we fess up.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_00: Like we said, we're you know, confession.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_00: I had to confess, I had to ask for forgiveness.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_00: I had to be like, God, I'm sorry.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_00: I got over my head.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_00: I was so excited about telling everybody about you that I started taking all the glory from it.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_00: I didn't go to the cross for anybody and die.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_00: Why am I sitting here trying to take the glory for it?
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_00: Shame on me.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_00: So we need to be very careful.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_00: That's what it, that's what it means by the their works.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_00: So I just wanted to clarify that, and I don't know why God brought that to my attention, and he brought this uh Matthew 7, um, verses 20 22 through 23.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_00: That scripture, um, we need to make sure that we're being very mindful in knowing how to glorify God the way God wants to be glorified, and not glorifying ourselves in our walk with the Lord.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_00: To be saved is to be humbled, by the way.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_00: It's not to be glorified, it's very humble, humbling.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_00: And I just wrote a short story the other day as I was talking to my daughter, and yes, I'm going on a tangent, but there's a reason.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_00: My daughter was crocheting, was asking To crochet these donkeys.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: They're adorable.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: They're cute.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_00: They're great.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_00: She was crocheting them, and I said, But there's only one thing missing.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_00: And I said, That's the cross on the back.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_00: The markings across the donkey, across the neckline, down to the tail, across the shoulders.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_00: I said, It's missing the cross.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_00: So I asked her if she'd make me one, but I said, Can you add in the cross?
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_00: Because without the cross, you know, what do we have, right?
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_00: And she was like, What is so important about it?
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_00: Whether she has it or not.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_00: And I told her the story about the cross.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_00: Jesus, it is believed that when Mary came into Bethlehem, she rode on a donkey.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_00: It's not said in scripture, but it is believed and it's been discussed that that's probably the animal that she came in on.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_00: So basically, Jesus rode in on a cross.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_00: Jesus at another time also rode a cross into the city.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_00: And people put the palm leaves down for him to cross over that story.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_00: And we'll get into all that later, too.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_00: And then at the end, Jesus dies on a cross.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_00: So the cross has a significant meaning.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: It doesn't do anything other than explain to us who Jesus is.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_00: But the cross has a purpose.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_00: Everything in the Bible is on purpose.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_00: The donkey having a cross across its back was done on purpose.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_00: God created the donkey in that fashion for that reason.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_00: That donkey carrying Jesus around on his back on a cross was a significant purpose to him going to the cross, to a wooden cross for our salvation.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_00: It's so important.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_00: We'll get into that another episode, but bringing that into the light of salvation, there's so much meaning to the Word of God.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_00: Every part of the Word of God is a tool and it has purpose in order to keep us from heaven.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, to keep to help us get into heaven and to keep us from the lake of fire or hell per se.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_00: And that's why it's important that we talk about it.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people don't want to talk about hell.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_00: I personally don't like to talk about hell.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_00: I feel like when we talk about hell, it scares people away.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_00: And some people will turn away from God because they're so afraid of hell.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_00: Well, you can't be afraid of hell if you don't believe in God.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_00: Just let me tell you that.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_00: Some people I've actually said that they're so afraid of hell that they don't want to believe that God exists.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_00: And I encourage you, I'd rather you believe in God so that you don't go to hell than to not believe in God.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_00: And the same with Jesus Christ.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_00: But to get to the Father, it says in the Scripture, you cannot get through the Father except through the Son, which is Jesus Christ.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_00: And I encourage you to do that today.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_00: I encourage you not to wait any longer.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_00: Time is of the essence.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_00: The world is on fire.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: And I know that's a song, and there's no pun intended with that.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_00: I promise you.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_00: The world literally is on fire all over the world right now.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_00: The scripture says the next time the world is taken out, it's going to be by fire.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_00: The signs are alive and active.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_00: The word of God is active right now all around us, and we can't see it.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_00: We're not even looking at it.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_00: We're ignoring it.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_00: We're accepting what we shouldn't accept, and we're not accepting what we should be accepting, which is the truth that comes with the Word of God.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_00: And it's so vital for where we are going at the end.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_00: And personally, I can't wait to get to heaven and get to hang out with Bethany.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_00: I can't wait to get to heaven and hang out with my grandmother and my mom.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_00: And I can't wait to get to heaven and hang out with Jesus Christ, the one who paid it all for me.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_00: Because I didn't deserve it.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_00: I didn't deserve it at all.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm not going to take the credit or the glory for it.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_00: Not now, not ever.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_00: So we need to be careful.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_00: And I don't want to see anyone that's listening or hearing or anyone, period.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_00: Like Bethany just said in the in 2 Peter 3:9, God is not willing that any of us perish.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want any of us to perish.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_00: It's us that make the decision to perish.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_00: Not God.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_00: If God had his way, we would all go.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_00: We have to choose.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_00: Someone once asked me, where are you going, heaven or hell?
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_00: And they were very adamant.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_00: And I thought, what a strange question.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_00: Where am I going?
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_00: You know, I said, I'm going to heaven.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_00: And they said, Are you so sure of yourself?
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_00: You're that sure of yourself.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_00: You really know you're going there.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_00: And it made me step back and go, uh, let me do a little soul searching here.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_00: And I did.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_00: I did a lot of soul searching.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_00: And I know, I know I'm secure.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_00: I know I'm secure because I know who died for me.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_00: I know who Jesus Christ is.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_00: And I'm sharing Jesus Christ with you because I want you to be secure.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_00: I don't want any glory from it.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_00: And I'm not doing the work of the Lord for me.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_00: I'm doing it for you.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_00: I'm doing it because Jesus said to take the gospel and take it to the streets and get it out there and share it and tell every man, every person, man, woman, or child, tell everyone who Jesus Christ is.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_00: Did you know Jesus barely traveled more than 400 miles in his whole entire lifetime, yet he's known all over the entire world?
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_00: Why is that?
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_00: Because there are people that heard the word of God and they're doing the word of God.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_00: That's what Bethany and I are doing.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_00: And we're doing it for the glory of God.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_00: Not for myself.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_00: Bethany, I know Bethany, Bethany's super humble.
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_00: She does not go around boasting, oh, look at me, look at me.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_00: I'm a Christian.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_00: I'm a Christian.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_00: I'm a Christian.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_00: She, I've never once heard her speak like that in my since I've known her in over a year.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_00: I've taught, I've been with you, Bethany, that long.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_00: And it's like, she doesn't ever act that way.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_00: And that demonstrates, her being humble demonstrates her salvation to me.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_00: And I know that she has security there and she feels secure there.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_00: But we want all of you to be secure there.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_00: We don't want to go without you.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_00: Even if we don't know you.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_00: We want to meet you one day on the other side of earth.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_00: And so I know this is long and I'm sorry I'm rambling, but I just feel led that God is like so, He has such a burden for each and every person, like in 2 Peter.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_00: He is not willing that anyone should perish.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_00: He loves you so greatly that he sent his only son for you to die the worst and most horrible death ever been known to man for us who didn't deserve it.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_00: We didn't deserve a darn thing.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_00: Except for maybe I should have got whipped a few more times as a kid.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_00: And you know, there's a few things I know I did deserve.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_00: I didn't deserve Jesus coming to die for me, but he did it anyway.
- 1:13:49SPEAKER_00: And like I said before, if I was the last person, he would still do it again.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_00: He does that for us.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, I don't know where your your heart is right now.
- 1:13:59SPEAKER_00: I know that my heart is just, it's aching.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_00: My heart is aching for people right now.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_00: As I go outside and it's smoky, um, all the way on my drive home from my vacation, you know, I was just realizing what the word says about about the fire, about the earth, and how that's how we're gonna be taken out is by fire.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_00: I personally want Jesus to come and take me out of out of it.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get burned.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_00: I don't like fire.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty, I'm kind of terrified of fire.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_00: God already knows.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_00: Me, I've already talked to God about this, by the way.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_00: I said, I'm really not comfortable with that.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_00: If it happens, it happens, but I'm really not really wanting to be burned up.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_00: But a lot of people have lost their lives because of the mudslides that came from the fires, from the storms, the lightning, the the everything that's going on in the world today.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_00: It's in the Bible.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_00: Y'all, it's right in the Word of God.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_00: Everything that's happening in front of your eyes right now is biblical.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_00: It's not coincidental.
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_00: I'm so tired of people coming on the TV and be like, oh, oh, oh, you know.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_00: Everyone takes God out of the equation.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_00: We got to get God back in the equation.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_00: And we need to come forth to the Son of God, which is Jesus Christ.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_00: And we need to make sure that we believe in him.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_00: Because without him, we're doomed.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_00: We are going to face hell and we are going to face the like fire.
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, I'm going to let you close out with um whatever you want to close out with.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's so good.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_01: Um I think as we have encouraged people already, you know.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_01: Take time.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_01: Don't rush from this.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_01: Allow the Holy Spirit to work.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_01: I honestly truly believe that every single time.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_01: God's heart is grieved.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_01: He is not happy.
- 1:16:44SPEAKER_01: He is grieved.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_01: Do we focus too much on outward actions?
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_01: Do we look at people and what they do outwardly?
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_01: Make a wrong assumption about them.
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_01: I think it would be good of us to take time and think.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_00: Um I would would you do you mind praying as well?
- 1:18:14SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
- 1:18:15SPEAKER_00: I'll let you do it.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_01: Let's pray.
- 1:18:23SPEAKER_01: And thank you all again for taking time to watch or listen to this whenever you do.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_01: Let's pray.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_01: Thank you for being here.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_01: Thank you for speaking to Mickey and I.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Lord, for your word.
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_01: Thank you that it's more than information.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you that it's revelation.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_01: Thank you that it's encouragement and beneficial.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_01: I do believe there is an urgency.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_01: I do believe that you are not willing to any spare.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_01: But that also comes to repentance.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_01: No matter who they are.
- 1:19:53SPEAKER_01: Because you created everyone.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_01: You create everyone.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_01: You know them.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_01: I do believe your greatest desire is for each one to spend eternity with you.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_01: But the only way they can do that is if they repent of their sins.
- 1:20:22SPEAKER_01: We save you as savior.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_01: Otherwise.
- 1:20:32SPEAKER_01: The alternative.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_01: I cannot see how anyone in their right mind would want that.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_01: Would want to spend eternity in the light of fire.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_01: I just don't know why anyone would.
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_01: And so I pray, Lord, that you would help each one listening and watching to this.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_01: Speak to them, Lord, as you know they need.
- 1:21:13SPEAKER_01: And thank you for it, Lord.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_01: For being who you are.
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_01: In Jesus' name.
- 1:21:29SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_00: Thank you for that and for everyone watching and listening.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_00: Um, like Bethany said, take time to sit and ponder and just um be like Mary.
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_00: Sit at the feet of Jesus and just think about um what does eternity look like for you?
- 1:21:47SPEAKER_00: What what does it look like?
- 1:21:50SPEAKER_00: Um if you're if you're Christian and you are saved and in and you know you're secure, um, I I'm excited because I get to I get to be with you one day in heaven.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_00: Um for those that are non-believers or those that claim to be Christians but aren't, um I'm gonna continue to pray for you because I I don't I like Jesus, I don't, I don't want, I mean, like God, I don't want anyone to perish.
- 1:22:18SPEAKER_00: I don't want to see people go to hell.
- 1:22:20SPEAKER_00: I don't want to see people it live the rest of their life in a lake of fire.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_00: And I know that um there's scripture that talks about that we're supposed to even pray for our enemies, people that we don't like.
- 1:22:33SPEAKER_00: And I I can just, in my mind, I I I just had a vision and a thought of people listening to this episode and thinking, but what about the people I don't like?
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_00: Or what about the people that you know I don't agree with or whatever, um, or people that may have hurt hurt me, or or you know, I I can just see some of the thoughts.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_00: And the Bible's real clear about who we are to pray for and who we are to pray to, and what we are to pray for.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_00: And I know Bethany has done a whole segment on prayer.
- 1:23:04SPEAKER_00: If you miss that, go back and look it up because there's a lot of value in that, um, those episodes on prayer.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a good place to start if you're not sure how to pray.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_00: Um, but most of all, just pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart, ask him to forgive you of your sins and ask him to take you to heaven when you die.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a simple request, um, but it's necessary.
- 1:23:27SPEAKER_00: It's like this episode is necessary.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_00: Talking about hell and the lake of fire is not something Bethany and I want to like dive into and just make it a party.
- 1:23:36SPEAKER_00: It's not a party.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_00: It's not anything that we want to like, you know, cause fear over either.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_00: But it's it's important that you understand the importance of it and the way the world's going right now and the things that are happening, and as wicked as it is, um Bethany and I just want to make sure that you're ready.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_00: Get ready.
- 1:24:00SPEAKER_00: If you're not ready, get ready, be ready.
- 1:24:02SPEAKER_00: And once you get ready, be ready, stay ready.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_00: Um, it's it's easy, like Bethany said in the beginning.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_00: Um, we don't think about eternity.
- 1:24:11SPEAKER_00: We don't think about it until we lose it.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we don't think about it until we lose a loved one.
- 1:24:16SPEAKER_00: And then it starts surfacing, the thoughts surface.
- 1:24:20SPEAKER_00: Um, I can't wait to be with Jesus.
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_00: I I'm ready right now.
- 1:24:25SPEAKER_00: I've been ready.
- 1:24:26SPEAKER_00: I've been ready for a long time, and I'm excited.
- 1:24:29SPEAKER_00: And I'm hoping that Jesus, you know, is ready for me because I'm a lot.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_00: So um, with that being said, I I just want to say thank you for everyone that's been watching and listening.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_00: And um, I don't know why Bethany froze up there for a minute, her her um, her screen froze, but that's okay.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_00: We are at the end of our episode.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_00: But thank you again, Bethany, for um all of your insight and your scripture, bringing it to the table.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_00: And for all of you that are listening, if you have questions or concerns or need prayer, just reach out to Bethany or myself, and we will be glad to pray with you.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_00: And um Bethany got dropped there.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know what happened, but that's okay.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_00: We're still recording.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_00: So, um, anyway, y'all take care and have a great, great, blessed day.
- 1:25:14SPEAKER_00: And um, until next time, let the truth be told.
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_00: All right, take care.
