- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, joining us now, we welcome back Missouri Senator
- 0:03Speaker 1: Eric Schmidt. Senator Schmidt, welcome as always. I guess I'm
- 0:08Speaker 1: going to have to talk about the shutdown at some point.
- 0:10Speaker 1: But before I talk about the shutdown, your thoughts on
- 0:13Speaker 1: this Middle East, John, I'm going to just a Middle
- 0:16Speaker 1: East peace plan, Middle East miracle, Middle East change. China
- 0:21Speaker 1: is a big loser, he rans, go, I mean, what
- 0:23Speaker 1: do you think about this? Centaeror Schmid? This is really
- 0:26Speaker 1: this is some stuff. Don't you think this is hot stuff?
- 0:29Speaker 2: It is, It's remarkable. And I think he's cementing his
- 0:32Speaker 2: place and history as the peace president. And that has
- 0:35Speaker 2: always been President Trump's north star, which is to seek
- 0:38Speaker 2: diplomacy first. And I think you're seeing a rebirth of
- 0:41Speaker 2: American realism with this president, and that you see the
- 0:44Speaker 2: world as it is, you understand what our core national
- 0:47Speaker 2: interests are. We're not going to get spread too far
- 0:50Speaker 2: and too wide. We can't be everywhere all at once,
- 0:52Speaker 2: all the time. That's why Europe's now stepping up in
- 0:55Speaker 2: a much more meaningful way. We're focused on the homeland.
- 0:57Speaker 2: We understand the civilizational threat that China is, this competing
- 1:02Speaker 2: you know, rival. We have across the Pacific. And when
- 1:05Speaker 2: you can intervene peacefully and through diplomacy to solve conflicts,
- 1:10Speaker 2: that's an appropriate role of American leadership. And President Trump
- 1:13Speaker 2: has done that time and time again, whether it's Azerbaijan
- 1:16Speaker 2: in Armenia, or Pakistan and India or now with this
- 1:20Speaker 2: you know, exchange of hostages. Now, they still got to
- 1:22Speaker 2: get to the governance. But he's set a framework here
- 1:25Speaker 2: that's really built on the Abraham Accords of his first term.
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's not based, you know, completely on political dynamics, but
- 1:32Speaker 2: also economic realities and cooperation that can hopefully stand the
- 1:37Speaker 2: test of time.
- 1:38Speaker 3: You know, the rest of the world will follow.
- 1:40Speaker 1: This is what we learned four decades ago with Reagan,
- 1:44Speaker 1: his success at home and on the world stage. Okay,
- 1:49Speaker 1: people mocked Reagan right in the beginning, and then all
- 1:52Speaker 1: of a sudden they were lining up to find out
- 1:55Speaker 1: how he was doing it. Had it had a global impact.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Center Schmidt and I don't think it's yet understood properly
- 2:03Speaker 1: that President Trump's successes at home and overseas, including completely
- 2:10Speaker 1: rechange in the Middle.
- 2:11Speaker 3: East, this is global stuff.
- 2:14Speaker 1: The other countries, the European doubters, for example, and China
- 2:19Speaker 1: is a big loser, and I think Russia's gonna wind
- 2:22Speaker 1: up being a big loser too. They're going to follow suit.
- 2:25Speaker 1: They're going to want to know how he does it.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's what happened when I was a kid working for Reagan.
- 2:30Speaker 1: That's what they wanted to know.
- 2:32Speaker 3: How'd you do it?
- 2:32Speaker 1: How'd you the G seven and the G twenty. It's
- 2:36Speaker 1: going to have a global impact, sir.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he has a an eight instincts here. They're right,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and the globalists have been betting against President Trump for
- 2:46Speaker 2: a long time now, and we're kind of a decade
- 2:48Speaker 2: into this, and just think of the difference between the
- 2:50Speaker 2: first term. When President Trump was talking to the Europeans
- 2:53Speaker 2: about stepping up for five percent of their GDP for
- 2:55Speaker 2: the national defense, they mocked them. But now they're doing
- 2:58Speaker 2: it because it's proven to be they hopefully they understand
- 3:02Speaker 2: now the importance of that. But President Trump is a
- 3:04Speaker 2: is a singular political figure. I think the most consequential
- 3:08Speaker 2: president we've had in generations in this country. And this
- 3:11Speaker 2: is just sort of another you know, notch on the
- 3:15Speaker 2: on the belt here of a serious person with great accomplishments.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You know, I was watching Emmanuel Maccrone, whom I happen
- 3:24Speaker 1: to know, by the way, but rather well. But Emmanuel
- 3:27Speaker 1: Macrone trying to shake Trump's hand for about twenty five minutes.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Did you notice he wouldn't let go of his hand.
- 3:34Speaker 1: What Macrone was doing was holding on for dear life
- 3:38Speaker 1: for his own government, which is completely failing.
- 3:41Speaker 3: He wouldn't let gov. Did you watch It was like
- 3:43Speaker 3: he couldn't pull it away. This is Macron.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I've never seen the McCrone was never liked that with
- 3:48Speaker 1: Trump before. Here he was holding on for dear life.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I loved it. I absolutely loved it.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I agree, and I think and I've seen
- 3:56Speaker 2: President Trump around a lot of these leaders, and he's
- 4:00Speaker 2: got a magnetic personality. And by the way, winning begets
- 4:04Speaker 2: more Winning America America America is back, and people see
- 4:09Speaker 2: it and they want to be around it, and they
- 4:11Speaker 2: know it's a good thing for the rest of the
- 4:12Speaker 2: world too.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I got just a minute, mister Schmid.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I hate to even raise the subject, but there is
- 4:18Speaker 1: the shutdown and the issue of pulling the trigger on
- 4:21Speaker 1: non essential workers in programs. Can you give us your
- 4:24Speaker 1: your Senator Eric Schmidt Reid.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, we're getting there. I mean, this is we're starting
- 4:28Speaker 2: week three of the Schumer shutdown, and it's totally irrational, Larry,
- 4:31Speaker 2: There's really not anything that they really want. They'll sort
- 4:34Speaker 2: of talk about other things, but their offer on the
- 4:35Speaker 2: table is one point five trillion dollars worth of spending,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you know, five billion for all these crazy programs that
- 4:41Speaker 2: usaid we defunded, the Recisions package. They want healthcare for
- 4:44Speaker 2: legal immigrants, that's what they're offering. But really this is
- 4:47Speaker 2: about fighting Trump. So that's why it's not a rational discussion.
- 4:52Speaker 2: We'll see what happens this week. But as far as
- 4:54Speaker 2: what the government's going to do, the President has made
- 4:57Speaker 2: clear and rest flots make clear what their priorities are,
- 4:59Speaker 2: which is they're gonna make sure the military members get paid,
- 5:01Speaker 2: gonna make sure law enforcement gets paid. And if we
- 5:04Speaker 2: get a little bit further down the road here, there's
- 5:05Speaker 2: gonna have to be some decisions made because the government's
- 5:08Speaker 2: just running out of money, and the Republicans have offered
- 5:10Speaker 2: a clean cr which is usually the exit ramp here,
- 5:13Speaker 2: and the Democrats keep saying no, they're way more interested
- 5:16Speaker 2: in grandstanding than governing. That's the truth.
- 5:18Speaker 3: It's unbelievable to me, we gotta go. But here's here's.
- 5:22Speaker 1: This world reverberating national leader, mister Trump, who is now
- 5:28Speaker 1: a global leader. Okay, and these guys, these Democrats, are
- 5:32Speaker 1: still fiddling around with some Pissan thing that it won't
- 5:36Speaker 1: allow continuing resolution to pas.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I mean, who or they think they're kidding. They're destroying them.
- 5:41Speaker 3: So I mean, I'm go right ahead and make my day.
- 5:43Speaker 3: But this is just the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
- 5:46Speaker 2: They don't have another play in the playbook. They really don't,
- 5:48Speaker 2: and it hasn't worked for them, and the American people
- 5:50Speaker 2: rejected this before we saw everything unfold. They don't have
- 5:53Speaker 2: another play. They're leader lists, they don't have a message.
- 5:56Speaker 2: All they can do is you know, Orange Man, bad nonsense,
- 5:59Speaker 2: No King's rally. It's so ridiculous. People are tired of it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, this kid Mundami, we'll get to him later in
- 6:05Speaker 1: the show.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Center.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Eric Schmid, your terrific sir, Thanks for healthy as always.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You bet you
